Examples Of Abigail Adams Letter To The Declaration Of...
As an attempt to officially state the patriots have broken away from Great Britain, The Declaration of
Independence was written, however is it possible the people forgot one of their major points? When
The Declaration of Independence was written all thirteen delegates wanted all men to be created
equal. Unfortunately they seemed to fail this as rights between men, women, and slaves all seem to
differ. As time went on it was discovered that men have the most rights, women have little, and slaves
seem to have lost almost everything. A letter written by Abigail Adams titled Remember the Ladies

The Slave Petition to the House of Representatives of the Providence of Massachusetts was written by
a slave with some capability to read and write. While this salve is unknown he/she wanted to point out
towards the legislative that the slaves have done nothing to deserve this treatment and how it does not

receiving more rights would be appreciated. The John Adams Miniseries was a television show

situation. Therefore The Declaration of Independence is hypocritical due to colonial men having

Roles Of Women In The Crucible
The roles of the women in the drama are significant because of the way they shape the story and help
the reader understand the nature of one of the strangest events in human history. Throughout the novel,
women are portrayed in many different ways. Some are shown as being good and moral people while
others the complete opposite. Arthur Miller s treatment of women in this play show women as weak
beings who give into their husbands. Each women in the drama plays a significant role in showing the
different archetypes there were among women especially Mary Warren, Elizabeth Proctor, and Abigail
Williams. In addition, Kohlberg s Moral Stages are six developmental stages of human moral
reasoning which can tie into the view in which we have of the women in the play. The roles in which
women play in the drama are very significant due to the fact that they are able to shape the story and
give an idea of the nature of one of the strangest events which we call the witch trials. In the play,
women are depicted as weak creatures who are expected to submit to men, and whose only access to
power is through dishonest means which we see a lot through certain characters. No women in the
Crucible possesses extreme power and with the lying and dishonest females having the most power
through despicable acts, only means for the truthful, pure hearted, and family orientated women to be
the least powerful. More specifically, women from the drama who fit into these archetypes are Mary

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Mobile Phones In Cell Phones
Introduction Mobile positioning technology has become an important area of research, for emergency
as well as for commercial services. Mobile positioning in cellular networks will provide several
services such as, locating stolen mobiles, emergency calls, different billing tariffs depending on where
the call is originated, and methods to predict the user movement inside a region The simple method
for mobile telephone tracking and positioning with high accuracy which presents the location of a
mobile telephone by drawing a plurality of circles with the radii being the distances between a mobile

mobile telephone is provided with a GPS receiver. To calculate its location in latitude and longitude
coordinates based on the location information received from a satellite through the GPS receiver. How
Does GPS work in cell phones? The receiver calculates the distance b/w one satellite and the receiver.
To find the distance and locations of the satellite and receiver, the parameter time is computed (t=time
taken by the signal to reach from satellite to the GPS receiver). The time is multiplied by the speed of
light to get distance b/w the satellite and receiver. Disadvantage of GPS based positioning: Increases
the price and the size of the mobile telephone. The load on the mobile telephone is increased.
Power consumption is high. 2. Cell identity Most simplistic and cost effective way to provide position

Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneurs
Characteristics of successful entrepreneurs
An entrepreneur is someone with the capacity to lead a business to success and is willing to take the
risks in order to accomplish their goals. (Dollonger, 2002). Starting a new business is an example of
entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs are very important in order for any business to succeed, however,
only some entrepreneurs will succeed in life. Here are some of the characteristics of successful
entrepreneurs.
Passion

Leaders enjoy challenges and will work for hours or days to solve problems that confront them. They
adapt well to changing situations. (Bowser). Entrepreneurs are also often very passionate about their
ideas that drive toward these ultimate goals.
They find happiness in the success of others.
Great business teams win because their most talented members are willing to sacrifice to make others
happy (Hasen). Great teams are made of members who help each and value team success.
They have something to prove to themselves.
Many people have the desire to prove other people wrong (Hasen). That s a great motivator.
Remarkable entrepreneurs are driven by true drive, commitment, and a desire to prove something to
the most important person of all, oneself.
They see money as a responsibility, not a reward.
Remarkable entrepreneurs don t see money solely as a personal reward (Hasen). They see money as a
way to grow the business, reward and develop employees and give back to the community (Hasen).
They do not just want to make their own lives better but aim to improve the lives of other people too.

Great Recession Essay
During the late 2000s, United States took a dire turn towards failure, as it experienced the longest
recession since World War II. There are many contributing factors that brought on the Great
Recession; however, the vital influences were the highly risky mortgage backed securitizations and the
failure of the rating agencies. Overall, the financial sectors were loosely regulated and fueled with
corruption, which led to years of scarring the economy, most importantly the people. As a result, the
real gross domestic product (GDP), which assesses the value of economic activity in a nation
including the inflation, received the largest decline, since post war era (U.S. Bureau Of Labor

For instance, one of the most well known indicators of a recession is the unemployment rate. The
downturn in the business cycle of the 2007 to 2009 delineates that individuals suffered from the
recession quickly and painfully. When a person becomes suddenly unemployed, he or she typically
relies on savings and the government, but the government was also experiencing financial dilemmas.
Additionally, studied have linked that as unemployment increases, the suicides in a country also
increase (Carey, 2012). Without a job, or an opportunity to find one, hard working americans lost their
ability to provide for themselves and their families. The long term unemployment rose dramatically
around the year 2008, all the way to 4.4%. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the long
term unemployment was the highest in 2008, since 1948, and it affected different demographics with
various intensities (U.S. Bureau Of Labor Statistics, 2012). For instance, the African American
unemployment rate was higher than the white rate. Similarly, manufacturing and construction
industries experienced the biggest increase in unemployment; During the most recent recession... the

Cultural Rape in Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart Essay
Cultural Rape In Things Fall Apart
In Things Fall Apart, Achebe shows the ruthlessness of the missionaries in pursuit of new converts.
Domestic support for the missions depended in large measure upon the tangible success of their
preaching, success being reflected in the numbers of conversions. This relentless focus on success
caused the cultural rape of the people of Umuofia.
Achebe even hints at their use of bribery and blackmail in their endeavours. He tells us, the white
missionary had set up a school to teach young Christians to read and write (126). The inference is
clearly that the unconverted heathens were not given this opportunity. Yet bearing in mind the orality
of Nigerian culture, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This presents a clear picture of the sheer rapidity of the colonial project. It seems inevitable that much
indigenous tradition and heritage will be swept away, resulting in feelings of profound cultural
dislocation, and loss of identity.
Yet despite these hardships, the reader cannot escape the feeling the Achebe is not as narrow minded
and bitter as he first appears. He clearly does not object to the discovery of and learning about new
religions and cultures. He presents a strong argument in favour of discussion as a path towards
understanding. In Things Fall Apart, the missionary Mr Brown and Akunna, one of the tribal elders,
often spend long hours in discussion, and although Neither of them succeeded in converting the other
... they learnt more about their different beliefs (147). This demonstrates a mutual relationship, in
which both parties are equally eager to learn when approached on equal terms.
It is not Achebe s intention to demonstrate any superiority an idealistic pre colonial Nigerian existence
might hold over life in Europe. What he seeks to achieve is an illumination of the complicated truth of
African existence (and) a concrete insight into the reality of their existence ( Conch 6. 1 2, 1974,
p.19). As clearly demonstrated in Things Fall Apart, he is making neither excuses nor apologies for
African existence.

What Do The Oil Numbers
What do the oil numbers 10W 30 mean? Your engines rotating parts are protected from heat and
friction by a thin layer of oil. We have seen the numbers on the oil bottles and read what the
manufacturers recommend for the oil but, how were those numbers derived? The increase in
technology has changed the way it was measured, but the numbers have stayed consistent so as not to
make consumers learn a new system, or have the oil manufacturers feel obligated to list both the old
numbers and the new numbers on the labels. Multi grade oils are the best of both worlds and this
accomplished by using additives to increase viscosity with the increase temperature. There are many
types of lubricants, just make sure that you are using engine oil, and the engine oil for your type of

1866, Medical Doctor John Ellis was trying to determine if there were any medicinal properties of
crude oil. He did not find any medical properties, but realized that there were potentials in lubrication
for steam engines. At that time, lubrication was mainly animal or vegetable fat, and that has started to
come back around full circle, but has potential since new technology for refining those fats into a
more usable lubrication. He then founded the Predecessor to Valvoline oil, Continuous Oil Refining
Company and put his medical practice on hold indefinitely. He patented several refining methods

Abstract
This paper explores the pros and cons of using digital formats verses print formats of textbooks,
particularly e textbooks and traditional textbooks, and seeks to ask how effective these textbook
formats are for university students and their studies. The purpose of this paper is to examine these
different textbook formats is to see which has the potential and ability to help students in the best

Because we live in a modern age of much technological advancements, many students in universities
are looking to see if it is still worth buying physical textbooks or to utilize digital formats like e
textbooks as a means of efficiency or even as a way to cut costs of paying for expensive textbooks. To
understand which format is more effective, we need to study the different formats and see what are the
strengths and weaknesses found in the two different formats. This paper will examine research done
by multiple researchers and use their research to help find the format that best helps students to study
and retain material learned from their textbook
Defining E textbooks and Traditional Textbooks
E textbooks are often defined as texts that are able to be accessed on electronic devices. Most research
has defined them as texts that are digital and accessed via electronic screens (Rockinson Szapkiw,
Courdoff, Carter, Bennett, 2012), in which there two formats that exist. The first format is the page
fidelity e textbook and second is the reflowable digital e textbook. The page fidelity e textbook is a
simple scanned picture of the print version of a book, which can usually come in the form of a PDF
(Rockinson Szapkiw, Courdoff, Carter, Bennett, 2012). The page fidelity e textbook has no

The Bio Ecological Theory Created By Bronfenbrenner
Throughout the world there are many homeless individuals who are in need of help. Many of these
people have trouble finding a job or a way to help themselves get stable. Not a lot of the homeless
know how to handle money or illnesses they have developed. Many homeless also suffer from
addictions and are in need of rehabilitation programs. The cause of these illnesses or drug problems
can be related to the fact that when growing up they suffered from different life changes and
expectations within the bio ecological theory or context. For my Service Learning Project I have
implemented a project that I believe will help the homeless community with their second chance. As
we grow up we associate ourselves with different people and environments no matter how old we are
or get we still see different people and different environments. The bio ecological theory created by
Bronfenbrenner, which explains just that with contexts of development. With the contexts of
development there are the biological, immediate, socioeconomic, and cultural contexts. All of these
contexts play a role in whether or not your life heads in a good or bad path. In every context there is a
different association from people and the environment such as cultural context which can provide the
belief in society that education is important.(Boyd, 2015) However, the belief that education is
important can be downgraded in the socioeconomic context if a family does not have the ability to

The Latino Culture
The Latino culture takes a more monistic approach to the mind body problem. This may affect the
ways in which depression is experienced and expressed. For example, studies have found that Latinos
are more likely to express psychological distress in somatic terms such as lack of energy, sleep
disturbances, and body aches (Martinez Tyson, Castaneda, Porter, Quiroz, Carrion, 2011).
Additionally, studies find that Latinos are more likely to take a holistic approach to healing as
evidenced by the principle of mente sana en cuerpo sano y alma sana (healthy mind in healthy body
and healthy soul) which communicates the strong connection between mind, body, and soul (Comas
Diaz, 2006). This suggests that a purely physical approach to therapy may not be well received by the
Latino client, and is supported by studies showing Latino patients feel apprehensive towards being
treated with anti depressants even when they have positive attitudes towards receiving treatment for
depression (Cabassa, Lester, Zayas, 2007). Understanding the client s perception of the self is
important in diagnosing and treating depression. Therefore, an effective therapist must be able to
understand and incorporate the client s worldview throughout the therapeutic process.

How Do Masks Affect The Use Of Mask
In this essay, I will argue that the use of masks is vital in creating a believable and consistent character
for performance. The techniques I have used in masks not only help define a character but have
improved my improvisation skills.
Jacques Lecoq wanted to explore the hidden gestures, emotions and underlying states of a character,
which we express through mimages [2002: P.109]. I incorporated both the mimages and Seven States
of Tension to help me to determine how my mask; Draco, would react in different situations.
As John Martin states, every part says something [2004: p.68]. This is something I tried to captivate in
my development of Draco. However, before I could look at how Draco would react with masks, I
needed to understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Copying the arched eyebrow on the mask I found a smarmy, nasally voice, I enjoyed doing this as it
helped me to achieve the temperament of Draco; Choleric. I had to make sure I did not differentiate
from his features. As Rudlin states: You a prisoner of the mask [1994: P.35], thus meaning I was
bound by Draco s expressions.
Clocking was essential for Draco as he needed to constantly hold the audience s attention. It also
helped to pinpoint key moments; looking at the dirty rag, clock the audience, placing the rag
elsewhere. This moment also tied in with the characteristics of the Arlecchino.
Toby Wilsher states that countermask is one of the simplest but most effective tools [2007: p.30]. As
the countermask would help me achieve any emotion despite Draco s features I could flip him from
trickster to turmoil. It also affected my centre, taking me from a centre of my chest to my knees centre,
bringing Draco to the floor as his ever present sneer faded into a frown and a wail.
All the techniques I used to develop Draco helped me in creating a character. Each exercise helped me
to pin point Draco further and explore him in ways that non mask theatre would not. I prefer to act
with a mask however, it is easy to slip out of character, therefore the face of the mask must always be
pulled. I found if my facial expression slipped, the entire character began to

There is no culture in the history of mankind that did not ever use some kind (kinds) of drugs. Despite
the well known consequences of drug addiction, millions of people constantly consume different legal

threatening factors of social risk, resulting in increasing rates of mortality, aggressive and criminal

They also identify a latent function that is associated with making a drug legal or illegal. To make a
drug illegal is to strengthen the agencies that have been established to control them. The moral
entrepreneur has a lot of power and money to make drugs legal or illegal, whatever is in their best
interest. Conflict theorist emphasize how drugs are used as a political tool. They decide whether a
drug is criminalized or not. The conflict theorists used the laws against the Chinese immigrants in the
1800 s.
Continuous use of a certain drug results in the need to consume higher doses in order to achieve the
same effect and by negative and painfully felt effects of sudden withdrawal of the drug. The drug not
only acts as a reinforcer, but sets the stage for the development of the motivation to obtain the drug.
(Timmons Hamilton). When this motivation develops, it becomes ...the major focus of a person s life

The Link Between Down Syndrome and Alzheimer s Disease...
The Link Between Down Syndrome and Alzheimer s Disease
The individuals with Disabilities Education Act states that all children with disabilities, including
mental retardation, be educated to the maximum extent appropriate with students who are not disabled
(2). In an ideal world, society would have no problem following this decree, but the world is less than
perfect and, therefore, stigmas are unfortunately attached to those suffering from mental disabilities,
especially the mentally retarded. One has to question whether this group of people deserves these
stigmas. Having grown up with two severely retarded cousins and, for that matter, a great uncle
suffering from Alzheimer s Disease, I often wondered as to what was happening ... Show more content

The fact that individuals displaying the same symptoms have similar abnormalities in their brains
gives supporting evidence to the brain = behavior argument. In further support, studies have suggested
that mentally retarded adults have the same risk as other adults of developing Alzheimer s disease,
which affects roughly 6% of adults over 65 in the general population. However, adults with Down
Syndrome have a much higher rate of developing the disease. 25% of adults with Down Syndrome
develop the disease by age 40, and the rate sky rockets to 65% after age 60. Upon autopsy at death,
nearly all adults that suffered from Down Syndrome show brain patterns analogous with those of
Alzheimer s (9) . If the brain is responsible for the behaviors demonstrated by the sufferers of both
Down Syndrome and Alzheimer s, then one has to question what the link is. What makes the transition
from one to the other more frequent than in the general population and why are the mentally retarded
not afflicted by Alzheimer s as often as those with Down Syndrome?
Down Syndrome is the most common genetic form of mental retardation and occurs in about 1 out of
every 800 births. It has distinctive characteristics that allow it to be easily distinguished from other
forms of mental retardation (3). Factors such as maternal age, hormonal abnormalities, x rays, viral
infection, immunologic problems, and genetic predisposition can cause the improper

What Happened To Jacob
However, in the case of James, it is unsure why it became James, rather than Jacob. One may
conjecture that James was already a common name in England as was the King who commissioned
the translation, but it is still perplexing as to why Jacob was deliberately changed to James. Was Jacob
too Jewish for them or was there an attempt at Christianize him or make him appear as a Gentile?
Why are other modern translations unwilling to change it to Jacob or even Yaakov? Wine or grape
juice Next, let us consider the cases involving words which do not exist in English. There are several
Hebrew words that are translated into one English word wine. The most common word in Hebrew for
wine is ‫ן‬‫ִי‬‫ָ֫י‬ (yayin). It is used in verses such as Genesis 9:21, And he drank of the wine (yayin), and was
drunken. In this case, yayin is definitely alcoholic which caused Noah to be inebriated. The same term
is also used in Isaiah 22:13, And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating
flesh, and drinking wine (yayin): let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die. However, in the

Onset of Breast Cancer
Onset of breast cancer:
Introduction:
DNA makeup our gene in each cell which control our functions. Gene which increases cell division
are called oncogene, others which slow down cell division, or cell die at right time are called tumor
suppressor gene.Certain changes or mutation in DNA turn on oncogene or turn off tumor suppressor
gene to cause normal breast cell to become cancerous.the stem cell mutation are the actual root of
cancer which causes cancer again and again we use different strategies to diagnose the presence of
these kind of mutation including different scans including CT scan, ultrasonography,FED.
Inherited gene mutations
Certain genes that were mutated in parent can dramatically increase the risk of developing certain
cancer that run in families. For example BRCA gene are tumor suppressor gene a mutation that can
occur in one of these gene in parents cause tumor in progeny, as it no longer suppresses abnormal
growth and causes cancerous cell proliferation. (Bahcall O et al.,2013)
Genetic testing can diagnose women having inherited mutated gene BRCA1 or BRCA2 tumor
suppressor gene. These women can take step to prevent its proliferation. (Goodwin et al.,2009)
Mostly high penetrance mutation can cause the development of cancer although many women do not
develop the cancer due to high penetrance but can be caused by low penetrance or gene variation
causes cancer development. Each of these may have a small individual effect on cancer development,
but the overall

The House On Mango Street By Sandra Cisneros
The Street That Changed a Life The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros, displays a great
emphasis on culture and people helping form a young girl into a young lady. The main character,
Esperanza, has to navigate a mentally and physically challenging life growing up in a poor, Hispanic
neighborhood while still learning how to mature and rise above the poverty that surrounds her. Thus,
the question arises: in what way and to what extent does close human interaction change Esperanza s
life and set her on the path to being accomplished? Being around people such as her friends, family
and neighbors cause Esperanza to realize what she wants in life and how to gain the maturity needed
to escape the troubles of Mango Street. Mango ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mango Street affects her at first in a bad way. Her disapproval is proven by her thought, I knew then I
had to have a house... But this isn t it. The house on Mango Street isn t it. For the time being, Mama
says. Temporary, says Papa (Cisneros 5). Even though Esperanza does not like the house, it is a very
special thing to her family, The house on Mango Street is ours, and we don t have to pay rent to
anybody, or share the yard with the people downstairs, or be careful not to make too much noise, and
there isn t a landlord banging on the ceiling with a broom (Cisneros 3). This is the first sign of
Esperanza s transformation to a new and better life which will be guided by the wisdom and ignorance
of people neighboring her family. Esperanza s family has a heavy impression on her. Being the eldest
out of four children made her have to mature fast if she wanted to care for her younger siblings
properly. An instance in which she proves to overlook sadness for the sake of her family is when their
grandfather died. She had to accept the responsibility of being a leader to her young brothers and
sister, Your abuelito is dead...Because I am the oldest, my father had told me first and now it is my
turn to tell the others (Cisneros 56). Her mother also pushed her to be mature and responsible by
encouraging her to try in school and not give up, Shame is a bad thing, you know. It keeps you down.

Divine Gods In Gilgamesh

The Divine Humanity Though God(s) are thought of as innocent and fair, does that mean that they
always behave that way? Flood stories are a common practice in writing for many cultures; they are
used for the destruction of mankind and a taught lesson to those in humanity. In the Bible it is shown
the wickedness of mankind heart verse the obnoxious disaster the people in the story of Gilgamesh
had created, which nevertheless lead to the floods. Not knowing what the outcome would lead to, the
enthusiastic men who are a major part of the stories went for this long journey. It is also shown the
God of the Bible who is sorrowful for the men he has created verse the Gods who are angry with their
dwellers.
Before the floods occurred the Gods had to make a decision regarding their people; what was their
punishment for their crimes going to be? The Bible expresses God s sadness for his people. He is lost
for words at how they think and react to his presence. As emphasized, The Lord saw that the
wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was
only evil continually (Gen 6. 5). In Gilgamesh the Gods are not saddened by their dwellers like The
Lord, instead they were angry at the catastrophic lifestyle the people were living. In both cases though,
the Gods were put through enough and came to the conclusion of the floods; with teaching the lesson
of respect and honor while also

Persuasive Essay On Grey Wolf
If the entire species is taken off the endangered species list, the Gray Wolf will still be targeted by
human predators. The controversy of Gray Wolves being dangerous to the human community is an
opinion that needs to be recognised.
Anti wolf extremists will stop at nothing until the Gray Wolf species is put to rest for good. Over the
years the so called hunters have created a cultural background to the Gray Wolf. The bible states,
Religious convictions support our hatred of the wolf. Then God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air,
and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. , ...

In recent centuries, the removal of wolves has allowed smaller predators to dramatically increase in
number and range, thereby increasing exploitation of their prey. Although this is of value to the
ecosystem, the removal of Gray wolves has caused harm than benefit. Gray wolves have been
replaced by the expandation of the coyote population, which has caused a large community of small
predators such as foxes to prey on smaller mammals that are responsible for infecting ticks with Lyme
disease. The increase of these smaller mammals, is a likely cause of the increase in a range of Lyme
disease, (Levi et al. 2012).
In Yellowstone National Park, scientists have been carefully documenting the impacts of wolves on
the ecosystem, noting many changes for the better since reintroduction, (Berger et al. 2008; Beschta
and Ripple 2010). As the ecosystem depends on the Gray Wolf to properly function predation, the
wolves also regulate distribution and group size of each species, which impacts overall native
biodiversity. Wolves primarily prey on large hoofed mammals such as deers, elk and moose. By
preying on the most vulnerable (diseased, young, old, weak or injured) individuals, wolves can help
keep prey populations more healthy and strong, (Carbyn

My goal in life has always been to touch and inspire someone, especially when they are at their most

Reflection On Entrepreneurship
In the world of tutoring, there are an abundant amount of ways that one can go about teaching a
student. Although this is true, there are some ways that tend to work better than others. Tutoring has a
large amount of do s and don ts that we as tutors should make sure we take into account before we
begin our interaction with the students to which we are tutoring. Before coming into this internship, I
had a very general knowledge of tutoring, as I have been a tutor in previous years. After this week s
reading and videos that were assigned, I have gained a deeper knowledge of what exactly is expected
out of a tutor in and out of every session. Before diving into this week s reading and videos, there
were already aspects of being a tutor that I knew were required. This would include: having a plan
before every tutoring session and being patient with every student that you tutor. When it comes to
having a plan before every tutoring session, I feel like that is something that is one of the most
important aspects of being a successful tutor. When, as a tutor, you know the student you are working
with, it is beneficial to make sure that you prepare ahead of time for the session with that student. If
the student has provided you beforehand with the topics and papers that they are wanting to work, it is
imperative to look into them and start working on revising them before you meet with the student. If
you do this, and you know ahead of time what exactly you are needing to speak with the student
about, you will be able to use your allotted time efficiently. As a tutor, if you go about this approach
with any and every session that you can, you will be able to provide each student that you are able to
tutor. Patience is also something that is extremely useful and needed in tutoring. Often times, a student
will not understand what you are trying to teach them the first time. If you go about this in a negative
way, no learning from the student will be able to be had. Although that is true, if you approach each
session with an ample amount of patience, you will be able to teach the student the different subjects
that you are intending on teaching them. Without patience, trying to be a tutor is virtually impossible.

Elevated NLR, is a strong predictor of stable coronary artery disease (CAD), its development,
progression and mortality.52,53,54,55 The predictive superiority of NLR may be due to the fact that
NLR is a ratio integrating the deleterious effects of Ns, which are responsible for innate immunity and
lymphopenia, which is a marker of poor general condition.56 Coronary artery anatomy: Left Main
Coronary Artery The left main coronary artery (LMCA) arises from the left aortic coronary sinus
ranging in diameter from 3 to 6 mm and up to 10 to 15 mm length. It courses behind the right
ventricular outflow tract and usually bifurcates into the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and left
circumflex (LCx) branches. Rarely, the LMCA artery is absent, and the LAD and LCx arteries arises
from separate ostia. In some patients, the LMCA trifurcates into the LAD, LCx and the ramus
intermedius which arises between the LAD and the LCx arteries. Left Anterior Descending Artery The
left anterior descending (LAD) artery passes along the surface of interventricular groove anteriorly
toward the cardiac apex. It gives several septal perforators and diagonal branches. Most patients have
one to three diagonal branches. In most patients the LAD rounds along the left ventricular apex and
ends at the diaphragmatic surface of the left ventricle.

The Smallpox Virus
Smallpox is one of the most lethal virus known to man. It is devastating to individual systems, and it s
high level of contagion makes it a major threat to populations, as seen historically, before mass
vaccination was available. For many years before an understanding about the virus was developed,
thousands suffered and died from it, with no relief except perhaps that of a comforting nurse. As
scientific inquiry advanced, so did the approach to dealing with the virus, beginning with its primitive
inoculation, to it s eradication from the natural environment. In recent years, the study of the virus has
lead to harnessing it in the laboratory with the constant threat of biological warfare. The virus now

developed its own method of computer to computer communication. Because this method of
communication only occurs within this organization, it is not layered, but rather is designed to operate
as quickly and efficiently as possible on the custom hardware by using the least amount of overhead

Topic 2: The Disadvantages of a Layered Model
Identify and describe the disadvantages of a layered solution when compared to the organization s non
layered solution.
1.The processing and data overhead because for any communication to take place it has to go through
all 5 layers (internet model ) and 7 layers for OSI model.
2. The data overhead as it adds headers at each layer as the datagram moves down the stack. Thus part
of bandwidth is used for the protocol headers instead of message/data.
3. Addition of headers at each layer also increases the computation overhead.
Topic 3: The Layers of the Internet Model

Analysis Of A Small Place By Jamaica Kincaid
Antigua is a small island that was discovered in 1493, by Christopher Columbus. The natives that
lived there were made slaves by the British and the economy thrived on producing sugar. In 1834 the
British abolished slavery giving Antigua its independence. The sugar industry was failing so the
economy relied on tourism. A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid is about Antigua. Kincaid narrates her
novel in second person, blaming the tourists for ruining the culture of Antigua. Kincaid explains that
the British were cruel to the Antiguan people but she forgives them for it. Kincaid also talked about
how the Government is currently corrupt and how beautiful Antigua s land is. Kincaids novel is
broken up into four parts that address all of these issues in Antigua. The way A Small Place by Jamaica
Kincaid was written is effective in the way that it tries to persuade and inform the readers.
In part one of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the readers, she does this by talking directly to
them. Kincaid says that the tourists ruin the culture and that they are not justified in coming to Antigua
for a vacation. Kincaid thinks that tourism is ugly, an ugly thing, that is what you are when you
become a tourist (Kincaid 17). Kincaid is trying to persuade the reader instead of informing them with
a fact or observation. This direct use of second person is successful to persuade the reader. It is
successful because the reader might feel guilty for traveling and might change his or her perspective
on traveling.
In part four of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the reader. Kincaid tries to make the reader
think that Antiguas beauty is unreal. Kincaid also instead of informing you with facts or observations
talks about how the British should be punished for enslaving Antiguans and says in her opinion why
they did it. Kincaid wants the reader to feel that Europeans are truly unhappy, to satisfy their desire for
wealth and power, to feel better about their own miserable existence, so that they could be less lonely
and empty a European disease (Kincaid 80). This use of persuasion successfully makes you think
about human nature. It makes the reader think of why people would enslave others for money and
power.

Limitations Of Athenian Democracy
The ancient city state of Athens has long been celebrated for the foundation of the first democracy in
the 5th century B.C.E. Though it was unrivaled by any other ancient civilization in the creation of a
government that offered its citizens a way to directly participate in various democratic institutions and
make their voices heard, it was far from perfect. Identifying the limitations of Athenian democracy at
its peak and investigating some of the events that potentially let to its subsequent demise provides a
more complete understanding of the weaknesses in the democratic system. While Athenian democracy
granted ordinary male citizens unprecedented political power and is celebrated for being an innovative
form of government in the ancient world and a model for contemporary democracy, it was inclusive of
only a small portion of the Athenian population and had inherent flaws within the system that
ultimately lead to its failure.
Although Athens had a direct democracy, participation in the government was heavily restricted.
Governmental participation was initially extended to the ordinary citizens of Athens in order to
mitigate the resentment of the majority of people towards the aristocratic tier of society. However,
women, slaves, and immigrants were excluded from citizenship, and true citizens (men of age with
Greek parents) made up only about ten to twenty percent of the population . Also, many Greek states
were built on the institution of slavery and the subjection of

Abortion Ethical Issue
Abortions have been an issue in this country for many years. Some people agree That abortion should
be illegal while others disagree and say that abortions should be legal. The three branches of
government have been called upon to address the issue.
There are many issues that pertain to abortion that must be resolved by the legislative branch of the
federal government. The members of Congress are obligated to support the will of the people they
represent and if those people are supportive of the practice of abortion as an after the act form of birth
control then so will the members of Congress be. The greatest issue may be the relationship between
law and morality and science and politics. One politician stated campaigning for abortion ... Show

Congress has made not a single law making abortion a legal practice in the country. President Obama
issues executive orders, that state that federal funds cannot be used to supplement abortions or clinics
that perform abortions. The President nominates Supreme Court justices that rule on abortion cases
and therefore the President potentially has more power to influence abortion decisions. These chosen
justices sit on the nation s highest court and actually decide whether babies will live or die. President
Obama stated Those of us who support a woman s rights to decide to have an abortion and make
intimate decisions about sex, sexuality, and reproduction must also think and act strategically . A pro
life Congress can propose all forms of bills to defend women and babies, but unless both the house
and senate have super pro life plurality (290 seats in the House; 67 in the Senate), a pro abortion
President can kill any legislation with his veto pen. In 2013, President Barack Obama was the first
sitting president to press the issue about abortion. Obama stated planned parenthood is not going
anywhere . President Obama talked about Planned Parenthood to thousands of supporters.
In conclusion, we see that the discussion of abortion rights has been ongoing for decades with the
consensus of the three branches of government being that a woman should have a right to choose
whether to have a baby or not. Even though individual states have passed legislation either for or
against abortions, the final word has rested with the judicial and executive branches. The Supreme
Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that a woman should have the right to choose. The executive branch
concurs with this ruling as long as federal monies are not

In What ways is Sexuality portrayed as central to the conflicts of the individual v society in Ken
Kesey s One flew over the cuckoo s nest and Tennessee Williams A street car named desire ?
The capacity of sexual feelings within the individual is central to both the development and
fundamental basis of any significant character. As observed in both One flew over the cuckoos nest
(AKA
Cuckoo s nest) and A Street car named desire (AKA. St. car) sexuality emerges as a principal device
used in defining a character to the audience. By ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their appearances can consequently be said to be greatly symbolic of their role within the narrative.
The use of colour is also symbolic of character sexuality Red hots!! or face and neck the colour of
oxblood leather , Red is symbolic of passion and is connected to
McMurphy and Stanley, whereas the colours ivory [5] and pale blue [6] are used in describing the
weaker characters that deny sexuality. The individuals role within the narrative is dependant on the
conflict that arises, in these texts, due to variations within their own sexuality and society s subsequent
reactions. Sexual imagery also surrounds the characters; McMurphey and Stanley further giving, once

Caesar Augustus Contributions
History is made up of individuals who were just living the life they wanted to live. Their actions ended
up making an impact on our world as we know it. At the time they probably had no clue that the
actions they put forth in their time would eventually lead up to the world we know today. Their life
events may not have been grand, but they were enough to make an impact. Caesar Augustus is one
example of a person in history who led a successful life.
Born Gaius Octavius on September 23, 63 B.C., in Velletri, Italy. Augustus was a sickly child with few
connections. Although, one connection he did have was being the great nephew of Julius Caesar.
Augustus was known by three different names throughout his life. From birth to 44 B.C. he was
known as Octavius, in 44 B.C. he was adopted and changed his name to Octavian and in 26 B.C. the
Roman Senate conferred on him the name Augustus. His father was a senator and governor in the
Roman Republic and passed away when Augustus was four years old; his mother Atai was Caesar s
niece. In his younger years his grandmother Julia Ceasaris helped raise him; she was the sister of
Julius Caesar.
Augustus donned the toga, the Roman sign of manhood, at age 16, and began taking on
responsibilities through his family connections. At the time Rome was dangerous and engulfed in a
civil war, one faction of the war was led by his great uncle Caesar. He started on his path of
responsibilities by leaving for Hispania to fight alongside his

The musical opened with The Circle Of Life song this brought a nostalgic feeling immediately, the
costumes of all the animals and how they were being play were creative and beautiful. Animals From

audience and up close and personal view. Characters like Big Simba, Timon and Pumbaa along with

When The Declaration of Independence was written all thirteen delegates wanted all men to be created equal. Unfortunately they seemed to fail this as rights between men, women, and slaves all seem to differ. As time went on it was discovered that men have the most rights, women have little, and slaves seem to have lost almost everything. Roles Of Women In The Crucible The roles of the women in the drama are significant because of the way they shape the story and help the reader understand the nature of one of the strangest events in human history. Throughout the novel, women are portrayed in many different ways. Some are shown as being good and moral people while others the complete opposite. Arthur Miller s treatment of women in this play show women as weak beings who give into their husbands. Each women in the drama plays a significant role in showing the different archetypes there were among women especially Mary Warren, Elizabeth Proctor, and Abigail Williams. In addition, Kohlberg s Moral Stages are six developmental stages of human moral reasoning which can tie into the view in which we have of the women in the play. The roles in which women play in the drama are very significant due to the fact that they are able to shape the story and give an idea of the nature of one of the strangest events which we call the witch trials. Many of these people have trouble finding a job or a way to help themselves get stable. Not a lot of the homeless know how to handle money or illnesses they have developed. Many homeless also suffer from addictions and are in need of rehabilitation programs. The cause of these illnesses or drug problems can be related to the fact that when growing up they suffered from different life changes and expectations within the bio ecological theory or context. For my Service Learning Project I have implemented a project that I believe will help the homeless community with their second chance. As we grow up we associate ourselves with different people and environments no matter how old we are or get we still see different people and different environments. For example, studies have found that Latinos are more likely to express psychological distress in somatic terms such as lack of energy, sleep disturbances, and body aches (Martinez Tyson, Castaneda, Porter, Quiroz, Carrion, 2011). Additionally, studies find that Latinos are more likely to take a holistic approach to healing as evidenced by the principle of mente sana en cuerpo sano y alma sana (healthy mind in healthy body and healthy soul) which communicates the strong connection between mind, body, and soul (Comas Diaz, 2006). This suggests that a purely physical approach to therapy may not be well received by the Latino client, and is supported by studies showing Latino patients feel apprehensive towards being treated with anti depressants even when they have positive attitudes towards receiving treatment for depression (Cabassa, Lester, Zayas, 2007). Understanding the client s perception of the self is important in diagnosing and treating depression. Therefore, an effective therapist must be able to understand and incorporate the client s worldview throughout the therapeutic process. However, adults with Down Syndrome have a much higher rate of developing the disease. 25% of adults with Down Syndrome develop the disease by age 40, and the rate sky rockets to 65% after age 60. Anti wolf extremists will stop at nothing until the Gray Wolf species is put to rest for good. Over the years the so called hunters have created a cultural background to the Gray Wolf. The bible states, Religious convictions support our hatred of the wolf. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In recent centuries, the removal of wolves has allowed smaller predators to dramatically increase in number and range, thereby increasing exploitation of their prey. Although this is of value to the ecosystem, the removal of Gray wolves has caused harm than benefit. Gray wolves have been replaced by the expandation of the coyote population, which has caused a large community of small predators such as foxes to prey on smaller mammals that are responsible for infecting ticks with Lyme disease. The increase of these smaller mammals, is a likely cause of the increase in a range of Lyme disease, (Levi et al. 2012). In Yellowstone National Park, scientists have been carefully documenting the impacts of wolves on the ecosystem, noting many changes for the better since reintroduction, (Berger et al. 2008; Beschta and Ripple 2010). As the ecosystem depends on the Gray Wolf to properly function predation, the wolves also regulate distribution and group size of each species, which impacts overall native biodiversity. Wolves primarily prey on large hoofed mammals such as deers, elk and moose. By preying on the most vulnerable (diseased, young, old, weak or injured) individuals, wolves can help keep prey populations more healthy and strong, (Carbyn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Reflection On Entrepreneurship In the world of tutoring, there are an abundant amount of ways that one can go about teaching a student. Although this is true, there are some ways that tend to work better than others. Tutoring has a large amount of do s and don ts that we as tutors should make sure we take into account before we begin our interaction with the students to which we are tutoring. Before coming into this internship, I had a very general knowledge of tutoring, as I have been a tutor in previous years. After this week s reading and videos that were assigned, I have gained a deeper knowledge of what exactly is expected out of a tutor in and out of every session. Before diving into this week s reading and videos, there were already aspects of being a tutor that I knew were required. This would include: having a plan before every tutoring session and being patient with every student that you tutor. When it comes to having a plan before every tutoring session, I feel like that is something that is one of the most important aspects of being a successful tutor. When, as a tutor, you know the student you are working with, it is beneficial to make sure that you prepare ahead of time for the session with that student. If the student has provided you beforehand with the topics and papers that they are wanting to work, it is imperative to look into them and start working on revising them before you meet with the student. If you do this, and you know ahead of time what exactly you are needing to speak with the student about, you will be able to use your allotted time efficiently. As a tutor, if you go about this approach with any and every session that you can, you will be able to provide each student that you are able to tutor. Patience is also something that is extremely useful and needed in tutoring. Often times, a student will not understand what you are trying to teach them the first time. If you go about this in a negative way, no learning from the student will be able to be had. Although that is true, if you approach each session with an ample amount of patience, you will be able to teach the student the different subjects that you are intending on teaching them. Without patience, trying to be a tutor is virtually impossible. Even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

• 33. Analysis Of A Small Place By Jamaica Kincaid Antigua is a small island that was discovered in 1493, by Christopher Columbus. The natives that lived there were made slaves by the British and the economy thrived on producing sugar. In 1834 the British abolished slavery giving Antigua its independence. The sugar industry was failing so the economy relied on tourism. A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid is about Antigua. Kincaid narrates her novel in second person, blaming the tourists for ruining the culture of Antigua. Kincaid explains that the British were cruel to the Antiguan people but she forgives them for it. Kincaid also talked about how the Government is currently corrupt and how beautiful Antigua s land is. Kincaids novel is broken up into four parts that address all of these issues in Antigua. The way A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid was written is effective in the way that it tries to persuade and inform the readers. In part one of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the readers, she does this by talking directly to them. Kincaid says that the tourists ruin the culture and that they are not justified in coming to Antigua for a vacation. Kincaid thinks that tourism is ugly, an ugly thing, that is what you are when you become a tourist (Kincaid 17). Kincaid is trying to persuade the reader instead of informing them with a fact or observation. This direct use of second person is successful to persuade the reader. It is successful because the reader might feel guilty for traveling and might change his or her perspective on traveling. In part four of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the reader. Kincaid tries to make the reader think that Antiguas beauty is unreal. Kincaid also instead of informing you with facts or observations talks about how the British should be punished for enslaving Antiguans and says in her opinion why they did it. Kincaid wants the reader to feel that Europeans are truly unhappy, to satisfy their desire for wealth and power, to feel better about their own miserable existence, so that they could be less lonely and empty a European disease (Kincaid 80). This use of persuasion successfully makes you think about human nature. It makes the reader think of why people would enslave others for money and power. In part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Though it was unrivaled by any other ancient civilization in the creation of a government that offered its citizens a way to directly participate in various democratic institutions and make their voices heard, it was far from perfect. Identifying the limitations of Athenian democracy at its peak and investigating some of the events that potentially let to its subsequent demise provides a more complete understanding of the weaknesses in the democratic system. While Athenian democracy granted ordinary male citizens unprecedented political power and is celebrated for being an innovative form of government in the ancient world and a model for contemporary democracy, it was inclusive of only a small portion of the Athenian population and had inherent flaws within the system that ultimately lead to its failure. Although Athens had a direct democracy, participation in the government was heavily restricted. Governmental participation was initially extended to the ordinary citizens of Athens in order to mitigate the resentment of the majority of people towards the aristocratic tier of society. At the time they probably had no clue that the actions they put forth in their time would eventually lead up to the world we know today. Their life events may not have been grand, but they were enough to make an impact. Caesar Augustus is one example of a person in history who led a successful life. Born Gaius Octavius on September 23, 63 B.C., in Velletri, Italy. Augustus was a sickly child with few connections. Although, one connection he did have was being the great nephew of Julius Caesar.
