Personal Code Of Chivalry Essay
Personal Code of Chivalry Have you ever had an event change your life? When I took my first steps
onto the marching band field for the first time, I realized I had found a place where I belonged. I
quickly realized how the lessons I learned in marching band would become an integral part of my
personal code of chivalrya code that would guide not only my steps on the field but into my
future as well. These three codes are: lead by example all the time, punctuality breeds perfection,
and you can t succeed if you have people do it for you. These codes have become values that
exemplify not only the team member that I have become but also the adult I will continue to be.
Just at Knights of the Roundtable had to uphold a Code of Chivalry rules to live by so do
members of marching band. A critical one of these rules is to lead by example. This means that
no matter what, someone is always around to observe your leadership. If people need help and
you are doing nothing to help them, they remember. If you walk away with a job undone, they
remember. If you choose to build people up to help them reach their potential, they remember. Be
the leader that shows their life code through example. There are other personal codes of chivalry as
well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In marching band, the director puts it more bluntly: To be early is to be on time, to be on time to
be late, and to be late is to be dead. Although we may chuckle at the final part of the statement, it
rings true. You should always be early so that you can start whatever you need to accomplish on
time. If you get there on time, you won t start on time, which means you are running late. Not
exactly a way to lead by example, is it? If you are late, you have essentially killed off your goals of
accomplishing what you wanted. It leads to the destruction of your first code of being the leader
always. Show up on time and strive to be the perfect leader of your

outstanding players will not make a championship team. His approach was the problem or project
having components in four different spheres which are Mental, logical, scientific, technical and
Systems or how the parts all connect and interact,.Emotional, feelings, intuition, and.Ethical,
spiritual and issues of being. Phil Jackson assumes the players have the technical and techniques.
Therefore he emphasizes the spiritual in developing the team. Jackson had seven feet plus a former

Evolution Of Hip Hop
The thing about hip hop is that it s from the underground ideas from the underbelly from people
who have mostly been locked out, who have not been recognized. (Russell Simmons, co founder
of Def Jam Recordings). Hip hop was formed in the Bronx and ghettos of New York City during
the 1970s. It began with African Americans and Latinos at block parties when technology and
drum machines became available and affordable. Hip hop doesn t stay the same and constantly
changes with new elements being added to the four key elements which include MCing, rapping,
DJing, scratching, break dancing, and graffiti. Hip hop has been described as a musical melting

Mercy Among The Children
Mercy Among the Children by David Adams Richard and the movie Changing Lanes both share
the common theme of lost time, and the inability to regain that time. When Doyle Gibson and
Gavin Banek get into a car accident on the FDR and Gavin refuses to give Doyle a ride, the two
continue to cross paths all day. Doyle then misses his court hearing and loses custody of his
children and Gavin loses the power of appointment, a crucial document to his case. Gavin then
seeks out Doyle to retrieve this document, and Doyle tells Gavin the damage his self absorption
caused him. When Gavin apologizes, Doyle then asks if he could give back his time: [w]hat I

How The Geographical, Governmental, And Human Development...
Those considered poor in developing countries often lack the fundamental access to buy
adequate food, water, or other basic needs. Although recent World Bank data has revealed that
world poverty has declined 43 percent since 1990 and 52 percent since 1981, poverty is still a
worldwide phenomenon that is prevalent even among the most highly industrialized countries .
Presently, according to World Bank data, 1.22 billion people live on less than $1.25 a day in 2010
and 2.4 billion people live on less than US $2 a day in 2010. This is almost half of the world s
population. The scope of this study is limited somewhat because povertyis a multidimensional
concept in which a voluminous number of factors can be causally related to this phenomenon.
Therefore, this research will seek to answer what impact does the geographical, governmental, and
human development characteristics have on the rate of poverty in developing countries.
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
The existence of poverty is as old as time itself, and still perplexes scholars of the world today. The
conceptualization of poverty is a multifaceted phenomenon in which varying factors contribute to
this worldwide problem. Thus, six arguments of poverty will warrant closer examination: including
culture, gender inequality, economic growth, geographical region, human development, and
government. First, scholars that link culture to poverty argue those countries that are inherently
poor must change their prevailing customs and

Cathy Song The Youngest Daughter
Clarissa Reyna Mrs. M. Segovia English IV AP March 12, 2016 A Deeper Meaning The works
of poetry are often underappreciated and overlooked. The stories of plenty are being neglected
in the education of our youth. The work of Cathy Song, per say, personally has never come up
prior to the assigning of this paper. In Song s The Youngest Daughter , we are introduced to a
variety of meanings in which an analysis full of depth is required to clearly interpret and

diction. The poem in itself also contains a compilation of carefully puzzle together literary

When analyzing literature, it is very important to take it one puzzle piece at a time.
Deconstructing a work of literature can be difficult if the path isn t taken correctly and the work
isn t completely broken down for understanding. In Cathy Song s poem, the audience is able to
understand the situation the speaker is in due to the vivid images that Song provides. The
imagery in the poem can be identified as metaphorical (figure of speech in which a phrase is
applied to something not literally applicable and order to suggest a resemblance). The reader can
also analyze the setting through the metonymy (the use of the name of one thing for that of
another thing) portrayed. Last but not least, the poem can be deconstructed with the use of the
symbolism (the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities) that can be found when the poem
is taken apart piece by piece. Now that we have a better understanding of what it is that is going
to be analyzed, let s begin to take a look at the poem through the eyes of a deconstructionist. Cathy
Song s The Youngest Daughter is clearly about a codependent relationship between a mother and
daughter, the mother s youngest daughter, to be specific. The poem is displayed in the view of
first person, for the daughter is the speaker. The poem is focused

Minstrel Music In Music
Back in the mid 1800s, theatre s featured minstrel music performances. Minstrel music is known
as a form of plantation songs written by black and white songwriters. Most minstrel shows were
performed by whites who colored their faces black and wore black clothing, pretending as if
they were black people. In later years, the shows were sometimes performed by black people
pampered up as the whites who were acting as blacks. On the surface, minstrelsy seemed to
reinforce derogatory racial stereotypes. Minstrelsy was the most popular form of American
entertainment for about 80 years in the United States. Jokes, such as why did the chicken cross the
road, originated for blackfaceminstrelsy. Regardless of its blatant racial prejudice, the minstrel show
was a combination of lively music, slapstick comic performance based on deliberately clumsy
actions and sophisticated elegance. It was a very peculiar and complex practice in which blacks
and whites alike would interpret and misconceive each other for years. Early minstrelsy in
American history was the beginning of a long relationship between black American entertainment
and the white adoption of it. The first monumental minstrel show to hit the spotlight was written
down and performed by a white man known as Daddy Rice who said he d first heard it being
sung by a black stable hand. Rice named the tune after the man, Jim Crow. Jump Jim Crow was
composed, and performed, by Thomas Daddy Rice in the mid 1800s. Thomas Rice,

Animal Mating And The Development Of Behavioral Characters
Marlene Zuk observes the disputes that arise when nature is explained among various palliative,
humanizing, and political viewpoints in Sexual Selections: What We Can and Can t Learn about
Sex from Animals. She has discovered that biologists and sociologists and the society persist to
view the behavior of animal as humanbeings behavior. We elucidate such interpretations for our
own egoisms, and that results in us being unaware of what s actually happening with the animals
themselves. In this book, she says The lens of our own self interest not only frequently distorts
what we do not see. It also in important ways determines what we do not see, what we are blind to

Zuk highlights that there are risks when we use our analyses of science to approve our own
disputes and political philosophies.
As an evolutionary biologist and feminist, Zuk does not consider eliminating biological elucidations
of behavior, but rather the preferences and stereotypes that impact them. She concedes that there are
variances among males and females, but we should not be connecting values to such variances. Zuk
suggests that a feminist viewpoint can propose a different perspective to biology, one that aids
eradicating the gender preferences that color our insights. In this book, Zuk exhibits a collection of
stories about animal behavior from a varied group of species from bonobos to beetles. She
comprises analyses of these behaviors from scientists, ecofeminists, social scientists, and the mass
media, showing how stereotypes and mythologies might fog our interpretations. In addition, Zuk
addresses the questions behind certain behaviors and characters concerning their connection to
evolution or social habituation. Zuk achieves this with an amusing articulation that keeps readers
amused in almost all chapters. She succeeds to create laughter while teaching biological science,
revealing double standards, and addressing humanizing stereotypes without damaging the
significance of these matters.
In three parts split into twelve chapters, Zuk talks about the several preferences, mythologies, and
stereotypes that influence the way we view the

Life Of The Old House
I. M. Pei never lived there. But relatives of the renowned architect are clinging to the hope that his
fame will help them save the old house that stands as the last reminder of the family s heyday in
turn of the century Shanghai.
To make way for a giant greenbelt, the city is planning to flatten the mansion that Pei s great uncle
bought in 1911. Despite its designation for historic preservation and its connection to the prominent
Shanghai family that produced the architect, the house remains in the path of the wrecking ball.
Death sentences like this are slapped on older homes throughout China. As part of its urban
renewal, Shanghai has been going through a building boom. New highways, high rises, even
parkland and open spaces have replaced historic homes that graced this legendary port city. Few
owners have the power to resist.
Most of Pei s family now lives overseas. The only ones left are either too old to do anything about
the possible demolition or too young to have any pull.
Interviewed by phone from his home in New York, the 83 year old Pei would say only that he left
China nearly seven decades ago, doesn t remember his great uncle s house and doesn t know enough
about the situation to help.
The family here, which spells its name Bei, still hopes that his fame will make a difference. Most

Stereotypes Of Dumb Blondes
Blondes do not deserve the reputation society has given them. Contrary to popular belief, the
dumb blonde jokes are nothing but inaccurate and long drawn out. It s no secret that blondes are
given a bad name based on their physical appearance. The media has done a great deal of
prolonging this idea into the brains of millions. Television shows and radio broadcasts are most
commonly to blame for much of these blonde hair stereotypes. These media outlets have
especially taken a certain comedic point of view for portraying the role of blondes in society.

certain stereotype of an individual based on physical appearance. This image centers on ones
weight, height, hair color, and overall physical beauty. It is reported that these particular
attributes may affect ones personal career. No one knows quite why this is the case, but there
have been several studies that involve these works, linking whether there is a direct correlation
with these results or if it comes down to a discriminative nature. Among some of the most
interesting studies, are the ones that deal with bias in the workplace. According to a journal
from Labour Economics, Blonde women with no work experience earn 6% 9% less than their
non blonde counterparts (Dechter 2015). The findings show that blondes can have positive, as
well as negative, effects in the workplace. The stronger negative effect of blonde hair color is
commonly apparent in sales (Dechter 2015). This theory has proven to be true by the sheer
presence of customer discrimination, thus showing a lack of blondes in the sales profession
(Dechter 2015). Both negative and positive preferences for blondeness are in line with the
prejudices of the blonde stereotype , which attributes a series of positive and negative
characteristics to young blonde women but not to young blonde men (Dechter 2015). Based on a
study in the UK in 2006, scientists analyzed 500 CEOs and discovered that blondes were very
underrepresented compared to men and women with other hair colors (Dickinson 2012). A separate
study done in 1996, concluded that after the subjects displayed headshots in their resume during a
job interview, blondes were greatly undermined (Dickinson 2012). Although all the resumes were
identical, the blonde applicants were rated as less competent

Aileen Wuornos Research Paper
Inside the Life of Aileen Wuornos
In 1990 seven percent of serial killers were women (Aamodt, 2014). Aileen Wuornos is notorious
for killing seven men in the years 1989 to 1990 along a Florida interstate. This research paper will
take a look at Aileen s early life from a child to her teen years as well as her adult life and how the
events of her life have affected her psychologically. Aileen faced many life altering events in her
life that sculpted her into the person she was and died as.
Description
Aileen s Early Life
Aileen Wuornos was born February 29th 1956 in Rochester, Michigan. Aileen lived with her
grandparents until the age of fifteen. Growing up until eleven years old Aileen believed that her
grandparents, Lauri and Britta were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First perspective is biological, Aileen suffered from borderline personality disorder. According to
Paris the author of Borderline Personality Disorder some of the symptoms include reckless
impulsive behavior, unstable relationships, and problems with regulating emotions (2005). These
symptoms could have caused Aileen to have mini psychotic episodes. She may have faced things
like delusional thoughts that could have caused her to believe the men she was with were going to
rape her. In her mind she was justified to commit the murder of seven men as self defense. Next is
psychodynamic, this psychological perspective caused a lot of problems for Aileen. In Aileen s
childhood she faced excessive amounts of abuse at the hands of her grandparents. As well as
abandonment by her mother and father at a very young age. These events made Aileen an angry
and violent person that ended in her committing murder. Behaviorally, Aileen learned that
violence was okay. She learned to disconnect herself from her body in order to cope with the bad
things happening to her so that she did not have to feel them. She did not have a nurturing
caregiver so she never learned how to treat others decently. This made Aileen believe it was okay
to be treated poorly by others and to treat others bad herself. Next is the cognitive perspective,
Aileen was not a good problem solver. Her thoughts automatically turned

Gavroche
Since these French Romantic paintings have been discussed for centuries, they also have deep
influences on French people and society. In France society, the various classes can be recognized
by the clothes they are wearing. In EugГЁne Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People , the young
boy, the representative Parisian street urchin, positioned on the right hand side of the painting
epitomizes political awareness, for he takes his destiny in hands. (Curatorialintern, 2010) The
street urchin s figure seems to illustrate the character named Gavroche in Les MisГ©rables, which
is written by Victor Hugo. Therefore, it is widely believed that this character Gavroche , is inspired

(Curatorialintern, 2010) Moreover, the yellow dress which the woman wears brings to mind a
classical drapery. This dress is together with a belt at her waist and it has dropped to below her
breasts, which shows her underarm hair. All of these were marked as vulgar by classical artists and
they probably impacted on the French artists and society deeply.
In addition, the significance of contemporary art can be demonstrated since Louis Philip understood
Delacroix s indication and decided to celebrate his glorious succession to the throne by purchasing
the painting.
On the other hand, the great influence of Liberty Leading the People also can be seen in modern
society. In 2008, Coldplay decided to use Liberty Leading the People as their album cover,
which named Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends . The title of the album was taken from
Frida Kahlo s painting, namely Viva La Vida . This Spanish phrase translates to Long live life
and had made an impression on Chris Martin, who is the singer of Coldplay. Kahlo wrote it onto
her painting and would like to celebrate life even though life had not been kind to her and she was
going through considerable pain. Therefore, Coldplay used this concept and applied it to its album
cover with Delacroix s Liberty Leading the

Executive Summary This paper reviews the mechanical behavior of geopolymers after exposing to
high temperatures. The review begins with a brief overview of geopolymers and examines the
extant literature on the mechanical behavior of geopolymers after exposing to high temperatures by
artificial intelligent techniques. The final and compressive strength of geopolymers is also
discussed. Finally, this review examines studies on genetic programming as a technique of
modeling the performance of materials and in particular, geopolymers. This paper focuses on the
general and specific aspects of genetic programming on geopolymers, and summarizes its
importance. Further, this review features genetic programming as applicable to geopolymers as a
method of predicting the effect of temperature on their mechanical behavior. From the review, it
emerges that geopolymers that resist the action of loads that tend to reduce their sizes, exhibit high
compressive strength.

The Argonauts, Les Guerilleres, And Dictee
Power is a very particular thing and can be produced in a multitude of ways. The three texts The
Argonauts, Les Guerilleres, and Dictee show this in numerous ways. As a reader, you learn to
recognize the power in places you wouldn t necessarily expect. From being dismantled within a
dystopia to exploiting the way bodies serve the world, powerhas controlover everything.
There is a sense of power within Les Guerilleres when the women take over and start a war. They
are developed within a group of empowerment and their only wish is to start anew, creating a
world, or dystopia, different than anything that has ever been seen, completing erasing all that is
and was. They believe that a fresh start is the only way that utter happiness can be found and they
want the new world to be a paradigm for all that is and can be good. They are controlled by the
goddesses that lived before them and by the empowerment that the vagina holds within. Exulting
the beauty that they have once they are united, they feel powerful enough to take control and to
unify a front that can withstand any battle. Once unified, they continue to grow stronger, and a
shield begins to appear around the women that can fight off any weapon that they come in contact
with, thus creating an infrangible bond. By exploiting themselves, they are using their power and
unity to create a shield that is impermeable. Their bodies are the sprout of their power, and
because of this, they are perceived as the world s most

Essay on Equality and Justice for All in Canada
Today, Canada is known around the world as a cultural mosaic. As a nation it welcomes people of
both sexes with all different beliefs, cultures, and religions. Creating a mature nation would require
promoting equality of opportunity to all and giving help to those who were disadvantaged.
However, Canada has not always been a welcoming and mature nation. In the past, women were
not allowed to vote alongside men or run for political positions, due to the fact that they were not
considered persons . As well, Aboriginal children were stipped from their homes, families, and
identities so that they could assimilate all First Nationspeople. During the last century, women have

Women being able to vote was a huge step forward for Canadian women, but even though they
could run for certain political positions, they could not be Senators. During the early twentieth
century women were not legally considered persons and could not be Senators (Women become

significant importance occurred in the Persons Case. The first constitution of Canada was the
BNA Act (British North America Act). In this constitution it referred to a group of people as
persons but when one individual was referenced they used the word he . The constitution
restricted women from holding public office. (History Canadian resources book) The act declared
that women are persons in matters of pain and penalties, but are not persons in matters of rights
and privileges. Therefore, women could be given the same penalties as men for breaking a law, but
could not receive the same basic benefits that men could. Unfair legalities like this proves that

unfulfilled desires, sickness, old age, physical pain, mental anguish, and death (Living Religions, p.

I was around seven when my father took me to his work office and I met his boss, Mr. Reed. I prefer
to call him Mr. Boss though. It fit him not only because he was the boss, but because he always

but I guess he was naturally grumpy because few things could turn his frown upside down. His
wife died two years from a car accident and his only joy in life was his daughter, Lauren. She did

Introduction.
Musical notes are a language that has evolved over thousands of years and the notation that we
know today, there are more than 300 years. Music notation is a representation of sound by
symbols of a simple notation for pitch, length and timing to more advanced features of expression,
timbre, and even special effects. This book will show you the basics of reading music, some more
advanced methods and how you can learn more about the subject.
This guide focuses on musical notations and symbols found on sheet music; note counts,
accidentals, time signatures, key signatures, breaks, codas, ornaments, and articulations, to mention
a few. This guide will also include pictures and simplified definitions to make it easier for you to
understand.
Modern musical notation was derived from European Classical music and is still used by musicians
around the world.
In the middle of the 19th century, it was said that the monasteries in Europe began developing
notations for Gregorian chant using neumes* or the earliest musical notation. The roots of modern
musical notation symbols are originally from the Roman Catholic Church.
Neumes These were the earliest form of musical notation, used during the middle ages by
Christians, which are still being used for Gregorian chants and plainsongs (or plainchants)
nowadays.

Essay On International Market Segmentation
Mission of an international researcher is sorely wide and it is important to determine the most
productive and influential tasks. Marketing research exercise involves systematic enquiry. Thus, it
requires a careful planning of the orderly investigation process. Global market segmentation is the
process of identifying specific segments, whether they be country groups or individual customer
groups, of potential customers with homogeneous attributes who are likely to exhibit similar
behaviour (Hassan Katsanis, 1991).

Similarities Between Witchcraft, Wicca, And Paganism
Introduction
The terms Witchcraft, Wicca, and Paganism are often used interchangeably. However, the terms
have very different meanings and each term has a complex history. First, I will discuss each terms
brief history and then their definitions. Finally, at the end, I will sum up my conclusions concerning
the terms similarities and differences.
Witchcraft
The history of Witchcraft is difficult to trace because it remained a hidden practice for most of its
early history. Several of the scholars I researched argued that Witchcraft never existed and was just
the product of creative imaginations. However, noted religious scholar, Mircea Eliade, argues that
evidence suggests that Witchcraft was a very ancient practice. Standard dictionary definitions
define Witches as people who practice magick. However, the definition of the word Witch has
evolved over many centuries. For example, the Anglo Saxon word Wiccaor Wicce simply refers to
a male or female seer or person who can find out information by using majick. (1) In addition, both

comparable to the contemporary use of the term hick, as an individual who is backward. It also
carried a negative religious connotation because Pagans were not Christian. Therefore, the term
originally meant anyone who didn t belong to a Judeo Christian religion. However, the term evolved
as societies grew and changed. Today, the term in its broadest, meaning is someone who follows a
religious path which is polytheistic. In addition, Pagans honor the divinity of nature and don t
believe that humans have dominion over nature. Finally, Pagans acknowledge the existence of both

John Lewis Gaddis The Landscape Of History
The Landscape of History by John Lewis Gaddis, is an educational series of lectures that
effectively advances the theories of famous historiographers. He specifically focuses on historians
like E.H. Carr and Marc Bloch and tries to encourage historians and students to not only reevaluate
the concepts of Carr and Bloch but to dissect the system that historiographers use. Gaddis, in an
indirect approach does contest particular assumptions of postmodernism, mainly the radical
interpretation that historiographers remain incapable of creating deductions about the past. Gaddis
s flair rests in his handling of the historian s occupation and how he considers them both a science
and an art. Through the examination of The Landscape of History, the reader, gets a sense that
Gaddis is combining the techniques of an artist and the methods of scientists. He describes

Hitler s new regime. With a men of 2.5 million, Rohm essentially commanded an army and would
be a fearsome opponent if he were to staged a rebellion. However, Rohm and his stormtroopers
were crucial in bringing down the Weimar republic and stabilizing the Nazi party. In spite of the
critical role Rohm played, Hitler started to gravitate toward the SS or Schutzstaffel, Nazism s elite
guard headed by Himmler, had grown more powerful and wanted the upper hand over its rival
organization, the stormtroopers ... On the night of June 30, 1934, on Hitler s order the SS struck.

The Importance Of Academic Delinquency
For several years, a steady thread within the juvenile justice literature has addressed low academic
attainment (Cottle, Lee, Heilbrun, 2001): educational failure, faculty disciplinary exclusion, and
dropout predict teens delinquency and crime; educational achievement is a buffer for juvenile crime
(Foley, 2001). even though results related to high faculty dropout encompass increased rates of
unemployment, substance abuse, and criminal pastime, only 15% of kids served by means of the
juvenile justice system graduate with a high school degree (Stanard, 2003). Conversely, academic
attainment is critical for eventual gainful employment, task pride, more social capital (Andres
Grayson, 2003), and decrease recidivism (Zgoba, Haugebrook, Jenkins, 2008). the overall trouble of
low educational achievement has many reasons, amongst that s the failure to understand when a
adolescents should qualify for special education status.
Low success and its connection to special training status isn t completely understood. A steady
concern in JJ settings, special training popularity isn t always a dependable indicator of
delinquency. The unique schooling rate for JJ populations, about 35% (Kvarfordt, Purcell,
Shannon, 2005), is well above the approximate 13% countrywide rate of special schooling
service delivery in public faculties (countrywide center for education statistics, 2010). while the
average age of the adjudicated adolescents is 15 years (about 9th 10th grade), the common
studying level is 4th grade or decrease (Vacca, 2008). educational skill level, and who does no
longer qualify for or obtain appropriate special training offerings, can be more crucial school
primarily based indicators of delinquency threat than special education status.
But, the individual student isn t the only subject; faculty environments with excessive retention,
low attendance, useless behavioral control, low instructor educational ability, and reactive and
punitive subject strategies are associated with academic failure, suspension, and dropout (Christle,
Jolivette, Nelson, 2005). In light of the massive literature base and consensus that academic failure
and faculty based risks promote negative outcomes, the paucity of statistics

  • 2. Personal Code Of Chivalry Essay Personal Code of Chivalry Have you ever had an event change your life? When I took my first steps onto the marching band field for the first time, I realized I had found a place where I belonged. I quickly realized how the lessons I learned in marching band would become an integral part of my personal code of chivalrya code that would guide not only my steps on the field but into my future as well. These three codes are: lead by example all the time, punctuality breeds perfection, and you can t succeed if you have people do it for you. These codes have become values that exemplify not only the team member that I have become but also the adult I will continue to be. Just at Knights of the Roundtable had to uphold a Code of Chivalry rules to live by so do members of marching band. A critical one of these rules is to lead by example. This means that no matter what, someone is always around to observe your leadership. If people need help and you are doing nothing to help them, they remember. If you walk away with a job undone, they remember. If you choose to build people up to help them reach their potential, they remember. Be the leader that shows their life code through example. Although we may chuckle at the final part of the statement, it rings true. You should always be early so that you can start whatever you need to accomplish on time. If you get there on time, you won t start on time, which means you are running late. Not exactly a way to lead by example, is it? If you are late, you have essentially killed off your goals of accomplishing what you wanted. It leads to the destruction of your first code of being the leader always. Although recent World Bank data has revealed that world poverty has declined 43 percent since 1990 and 52 percent since 1981, poverty is still a worldwide phenomenon that is prevalent even among the most highly industrialized countries . Presently, according to World Bank data, 1.22 billion people live on less than $1.25 a day in 2010 and 2.4 billion people live on less than US $2 a day in 2010. This is almost half of the world s population. The stories of plenty are being neglected in the education of our youth. The work of Cathy Song, per say, personally has never come up prior to the assigning of this paper. In Song s The Youngest Daughter , we are introduced to a variety of meanings in which an analysis full of depth is required to clearly interpret and understand what it is that the speaker is attempting to bring across through the use of clever diction. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When analyzing literature, it is very important to take it one puzzle piece at a time. Deconstructing a work of literature can be difficult if the path isn t taken correctly and the work isn t completely broken down for understanding. In Cathy Song s poem, the audience is able to understand the situation the speaker is in due to the vivid images that Song provides. The imagery in the poem can be identified as metaphorical (figure of speech in which a phrase is applied to something not literally applicable and order to suggest a resemblance). The reader can also analyze the setting through the metonymy (the use of the name of one thing for that of another thing) portrayed. Last but not least, the poem can be deconstructed with the use of the symbolism (the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities) that can be found when the poem is taken apart piece by piece. Now that we have a better understanding of what it is that is going to be analyzed, let s begin to take a look at the poem through the eyes of a deconstructionist. Cathy Song s The Youngest Daughter is clearly about a codependent relationship between a mother and daughter, the mother s youngest daughter, to be specific. The poem is displayed in the view of first person, for the daughter is the speaker. The poem is focused ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Minstrel Music In Music Back in the mid 1800s, theatre s featured minstrel music performances. Minstrel music is known as a form of plantation songs written by black and white songwriters. Most minstrel shows were performed by whites who colored their faces black and wore black clothing, pretending as if they were black people. In later years, the shows were sometimes performed by black people pampered up as the whites who were acting as blacks. On the surface, minstrelsy seemed to reinforce derogatory racial stereotypes. Minstrelsy was the most popular form of American entertainment for about 80 years in the United States. Jokes, such as why did the chicken cross the road, originated for blackfaceminstrelsy. Regardless of its blatant racial prejudice, the minstrel show was a combination of lively music, slapstick comic performance based on deliberately clumsy actions and sophisticated elegance. It was a very peculiar and complex practice in which blacks and whites alike would interpret and misconceive each other for years. Early minstrelsy in American history was the beginning of a long relationship between black American entertainment and the white adoption of it. The first monumental minstrel show to hit the spotlight was written down and performed by a white man known as Daddy Rice who said he d first heard it being sung by a black stable hand. Zuk highlights that there are risks when we use our analyses of science to approve our own disputes and political philosophies. As an evolutionary biologist and feminist, Zuk does not consider eliminating biological elucidations of behavior, but rather the preferences and stereotypes that impact them. She concedes that there are variances among males and females, but we should not be connecting values to such variances. Zuk suggests that a feminist viewpoint can propose a different perspective to biology, one that aids eradicating the gender preferences that color our insights. In this book, Zuk exhibits a collection of stories about animal behavior from a varied group of species from bonobos to beetles. She comprises analyses of these behaviors from scientists, ecofeminists, social scientists, and the mass media, showing how stereotypes and mythologies might fog our interpretations. In addition, Zuk addresses the questions behind certain behaviors and characters concerning their connection to evolution or social habituation. Zuk achieves this with an amusing articulation that keeps readers amused in almost all chapters. This image centers on ones weight, height, hair color, and overall physical beauty. It is reported that these particular attributes may affect ones personal career. No one knows quite why this is the case, but there have been several studies that involve these works, linking whether there is a direct correlation with these results or if it comes down to a discriminative nature. Among some of the most interesting studies, are the ones that deal with bias in the workplace. According to a journal from Labour Economics, Blonde women with no work experience earn 6% 9% less than their non blonde counterparts (Dechter 2015). The findings show that blondes can have positive, as well as negative, effects in the workplace. The stronger negative effect of blonde hair color is commonly apparent in sales (Dechter 2015). This theory has proven to be true by the sheer presence of customer discrimination, thus showing a lack of blondes in the sales profession (Dechter 2015). Both negative and positive preferences for blondeness are in line with the prejudices of the blonde stereotype , which attributes a series of positive and negative characteristics to young blonde women but not to young blonde men (Dechter 2015). Based on a study in the UK in 2006, scientists analyzed 500 CEOs and discovered that blondes were very underrepresented compared to men and women with other hair colors (Dickinson 2012). According to this video, computer science is a certain way to impact the world. This course will provide more information about computer science and why it is important to know. Stage 2.The Maze Here, I learned the basics about coding through different games. In the first one, I helped an angry bird move through a maze in order to get to the evil pig. In order to write a program, I needed to drag and drop blocks correctly. Also, by using the repeat block in the game I learned how loops are valuable and how computer repeat commands can be useful so people do not waste their time. Next, I had to use repeat until block to set determined goals such as until the angry bird gets the pig. Another game was about a zombie that I needed to feed, where I also used repeat until command to achieve the goal. Besides, I learnt about fundamental concept in programming if statement. However, the terms have very different meanings and each term has a complex history. First, I will discuss each terms brief history and then their definitions. Finally, at the end, I will sum up my conclusions concerning the terms similarities and differences. Witchcraft The history of Witchcraft is difficult to trace because it remained a hidden practice for most of its early history. Several of the scholars I researched argued that Witchcraft never existed and was just the product of creative imaginations. However, noted religious scholar, Mircea Eliade, argues that evidence suggests that Witchcraft was a very ancient practice. Standard dictionary definitions define Witches as people who practice magick. However, the definition of the word Witch has evolved over many centuries. For example, the Anglo Saxon word Wiccaor Wicce simply refers to a male or female seer or person who can find out information by using majick. John Lewis Gaddis The Landscape Of History The Landscape of History by John Lewis Gaddis, is an educational series of lectures that effectively advances the theories of famous historiographers. He specifically focuses on historians like E.H. Gaddis, in an indirect approach does contest particular assumptions of postmodernism, mainly the radical interpretation that historiographers remain incapable of creating deductions about the past. • 40. The Importance Of Academic Delinquency For several years, a steady thread within the juvenile justice literature has addressed low academic attainment (Cottle, Lee, Heilbrun, 2001): educational failure, faculty disciplinary exclusion, and dropout predict teens delinquency and crime; educational achievement is a buffer for juvenile crime (Foley, 2001). even though results related to high faculty dropout encompass increased rates of unemployment, substance abuse, and criminal pastime, only 15% of kids served by means of the juvenile justice system graduate with a high school degree (Stanard, 2003). Conversely, academic attainment is critical for eventual gainful employment, task pride, more social capital (Andres Grayson, 2003), and decrease recidivism (Zgoba, Haugebrook, Jenkins, 2008). the overall trouble of low educational achievement has many reasons, amongst that s the failure to understand when a adolescents should qualify for special education status. Low success and its connection to special training status isn t completely understood. A steady concern in JJ settings, special training popularity isn t always a dependable indicator of delinquency. The unique schooling rate for JJ populations, about 35% (Kvarfordt, Purcell, Shannon, 2005), is well above the approximate 13% countrywide rate of special schooling service delivery in public faculties (countrywide center for education statistics, 2010). while the average age of the adjudicated adolescents is 15 years (about 9th 10th grade), the common studying level is 4th grade or decrease (Vacca, 2008). educational skill level, and who does no longer qualify for or obtain appropriate special training offerings, can be more crucial school primarily based indicators of delinquency threat than special education status. But, the individual student isn t the only subject; faculty environments with excessive retention, low attendance, useless behavioral control, low instructor educational ability, and reactive and punitive subject strategies are associated with academic failure, suspension, and dropout (Christle, Jolivette, Nelson, 2005).
