Booker T Washington 1894 Atlanta Compromise Speech Analysis
In Booker T. Washington s 1895 Atlanta Compromise Speech, he is trying to convince his audience by
using vivid imagery, allegories, repetition, and reasonable ideas. He uses an optimistic tone to convey
four appeals. Throughout the whole speech, he establishes his credibility to a predominantly white
audience to make his point stand out for the changes he believes are necessary.
Booker T. Washington delivers the 1895 Atlanta Compromise Speech to a white and black audience
about the equality blacks and whites deserve. As a black speaker in the north, Washington influences
and impresses many of the northern citizens with his moving speech. Washington brought with him
...evidence of racial progress in the South . His audience contained the president and the board of
directors as well as citizens.
In the beginning, Washington uses vivid imagery through his ideas. He begins his speech with strong
statistics, One third of the population of the South is of the Negro race. No enterprise seeking the
material, civil, or moral welfare of this section can disregard this element of our population and reach
the highest success, (Washington 1). Using logos in this speech shows his strong points to his
audience revealing a realistic view of what is going on around them, and represent the kind of power
the black population actually has. Washington also applies ethos in his opening statements by
establishing his credibility and aspirations. American Negro been more fittingly and generously
recognized than by the managers of this magnificent Exposition at every stage of its progress. It is a
recognition that will do more to cement the friendship of the two races than any occurrence since the
dawn of our freedom, (Washington 1). He uses this to to express his aspirations for the long run and
establish where he stands. Without this section, Washington may not have everyone s attention in the
audience. The purpose may not be understood as clearly. Later in his speech, Washington uses strong
rhetorical devices to deliver more examples of his point of view and feelings on this topic. Washington
uses many powerful rhetorical devices throughout his speech, including this allegory, A ship lost at sea
for many days suddenly

A Comparison in the Presentation of the ‘Horrors of War’...
A Comparison in the Presentation of the Horrors of War in Birdsong and A Journey s End In Journey s
End there are a lot of references to the shear numbers of people killed on the battlefield. Quotes such
as One thousand eight hundred companies in France use figures to stress just how epic the war really
was, the reader has to be reminded of how vast the war was as most of the readers would not have
experienced it for themselves. Journey s End makes the mass death seem even more insignificant by
introducing the fact that the German s were just like the allied forces, I remember once at Wipers we
had a man shot down...Next day we blew each other to blazes , no matter what happened the two sides

There is however some suggestion of injury, S M shrinks back and throws his hands across his face, as
though a human hand could ward off the hot flying pieces which give the text a definite dark tone to
the otherwise cheery mood. The likely explanation for a lack of graphic imagery is that the text was
intended as a play and therefore severe injuries would be complicated to apply mid performance.
Birdsong alternatively is a fairly graphic novel, Faulks was not afraid to describe in detail the shear
horror and physical grotesque of war. As Birdsong is a novel the inclusion of such description is far
more practical than in the play format of A Journey s End. Faulks uses violent imagery to captivate the
reader, well described events can be easily imagined by the reader and therefore creates far more
involvement with the characters and settings. His nose dangled and Stephan could see his teeth
through the missing cheek is a good example of violent imagery that is very effective in drawing the
reader in. The far greater amount of violence in Birdsong is likely to be because the text was published
far after the war, Faulks was far more informed about the war and he did not have to worry about
causing public upset. An element that plays big parts in both texts is the loss of battlefield friends and
the deaths of family

Outsider In To Kill A Mockingbird
Discuss the theme of an oustider in Silas Marner and To Kill a
Mockingbird.
What is an outsider? The dictionary defines that an outsider is a person excluded from a group. The
outsider plays an important part in both novels. In Silas Marner by George Eliot Silas is the main
outsider, however in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee even though
Boo is the obvious outsider there are many others.
Silas Marner is written by George Eliot, which is the pen name of
Mary Ann Evans. She had to change her name to a man s name to avoid facing prejudice, as it was not
seen proper for a lady to write books, this also makes her an outsider. Due to this she could be more
sympathetic with outsiders, this could have influenced her to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To Kill a Mockingbird is set in a town called Maycomb in Alabama. It is written in the 1950 s but is
set in 1933 1935. At the time it was set and at the time it was written there was a lot of prejudice
against black people in America, especially in the southern states.
The 1930 s were also the time of the depression, which meant that many people had gone bankrupt.
The Jim Crow laws were also still in motion, which created a segregation of white and black people.
In the 1950 s civil rights were important in the U.S.A as black people were fighting for them. It was
also the time when the majority of white males were members or sympathisers of the Ku Klux Klan.
This adds to the theme of an outsider in this book, because one of the outsiders Tom Robinson is the
victim of racial prejudice.
Both novels are set thirty years before they are written and both are a hundred years apart. This shows
that prejudice is constantly around.
In the town of Maycomb hierarchy makes outsiders of people. The Finchs are regarded as southern
aristocracy but later become outsiders because Atticus defends Tom Robinson. The Radleys are
outsiders because they are so conspicuous and secretive. The Cunninghams and the
Ewells have both been bankrupt due to the depression. However the
Cunninghams faced it bravely where as the Ewells became dishonest and depraved. They are the white
trash of the society, which makes them
outsiders.

Brian Friel s Translations Essay
Brian Friel s Translations
Translations , by Brian Friel, presents us with an idyllic rural community turned on its head as the
result of the recording and translation of place names into English; an action which is at first sight
purely administrative. In Act 1 of the play, Friel brings together the inhabitants of this quaint Irish
village in what can only be described as a gathering of minds minds which study the classics, yet
minds which study dead languages. In the same way, while this community is rich in culture and
togetherness, it is also trapped in what is later described as a contour which no longer matches the
landscape of…fact . Thus, in expressing his ambivalence, Friel presents the reader with a ... Show

The first time Hugh speaks in the play, he greets his class with the line Vesperal salutations to you all ,
illustrating perfectly the grasp which he has of the Irish language.
Furthermore, he is fluent in other languages as well, and has the tendency to say phrases in Latin and
Greek before asking members of his class to translate them into Irish. He even has some knowledge of
the connotations and etymology of words at the start of the play, he says (in reference to the derivation
of the word baptise ), Indeed our friend Pliny Minor speaks of the baptisterium the cold bath .
Even Manus, Hugh s son, is intelligent. Near the start of the play, we hear him describe how Biddy
Hanna sent for me to write a letter to her sister in Nova Scotia . The fact that Manus is capable of
speaking
English, despite living in Ireland, displays his knowledge of language. Furthermore, he works in the
hedge school, therefore clearly has the knowledge and ability to teach, while the stage directions at the
start of the play describe his attitude towards his work as zealous he is not only intelligent, but
enthusiastic.
Inevitably, not everyone in Baile Beag is up to the standards of Hugh,
Jimmy Jack and Manus, yet we get the impression that those less capable members of the hedge
school are still willing to learn.
Both Bridget and Doalty, two characters who provide the play with many of its comedic moments, are
portrayed as less intelligent, yet we see

Colin Kaepernick s Views On Racism
Try This 2.3 I am using the same blog I did in the previous assignment. It is about Colin Kaepernick, a
quarterback for the 49ers, not standing during the national anthem. He refused to stand. During the
interview that night this is the statement he made. Passage I chose: I am not going to stand up to show
pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than
football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and
people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. ... This is not something that I am going to
run by anybody. I am not looking for approval. I have to stand up for people that are oppressed. ... If
they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right, said Colin
Kaepernick during his interview. This puzzled me. I was angry, just like a lot of other americans, that
Kaepernick would disrespect our country like that. Even though there are problems in our country
today, this isn t how you address it. Racism has been in our country since the founding fathers have
stepped foot on american soil. Its a sad the way white american have treated black, or other color
people, in the past and present. It something that has died down in the last ... Show more content on

Not all police officers are murders. Some made some lousy decisions, and they should be persecuted
for them, but they aren t all bad. They have the hardest job in this country, hands down. They protect
the citizens form hurting, or harming other citizens. Days later after Colin addressed the media, he
wore socks that had pigs as cops. In my opinion the people police officers deal with are the pigs. The
murders, sex offenders, and thefts, are the pigs. Police officers enforce the law, because some has to. If
you don t do anything wrong, you should have know problem with them. In a perfect world and

Gender Roles in Genre Media
In order to understand the issues with gender roles in genre media you must first understand what
genre media is. In this case genre media is a term used to describe films, television, and books that
traditionally cater to a specific fan base. There are two general types of genre media, speculative and
science fiction (Sci fi) and situational comedy such as the Big Bang Theory. By focusing on women in
speculative and science fiction which is traditionally a boys club a comparison can be made to the
ways in which traditional gender roles and stereotypes are portrayed. Although this is changing young
boys and men are still considered to be the target demographic ... Show more content on

According to Stockett and Geller this binary opposition illuminated gender issues while cementing
female subordination and male dominance by restricting identifying women to their childbearing and
child caring responsibilities. Romanoff s infertility becomes her motivation and main focus during

fact Romanoff s best friend Clint Barton (Hawkeye) has a secret family with a child named after

Development Of Infants And Toddlers
INTRODUCTION
I. I m sure we can all relate to the moment when you first meet a new born, infant or even toddler and
all you can say is Awh how cute he or she is , and how much you just want to pinch those chubby
cheeks or tickle those little toes.
II. Whether you ve had a child of our own, have a younger sibling, or even may have never been
around young children before, we all have our own experiences and unique ways of interacting with
them.
III. These little cute bundles of joy, or maybe occasionally not so joyful at times have much more than
just cute looks. From birth to five years of age they are actually going through a critical period of
development that is a complex and vital to their growth for years to come.
IV. Ever since I was a young girl I have always had a great interest in learning about the development
of infants and toddlers. Now, as I enter my senior year in the Family and Child Sciences Department
at Florida State University, I have gained great one on one personal experience working with children
ranging from zero to ten years old.
As we all might know the obvious physical developmental signs an infant goes through known as
growth. What many may not know is the stages a child moves through known as, child developmental
stages or milestones. This includes how the child becomes able to do more complex things as they get
older. Such as Gross and fine motor skills, Social and Language skills, and lastly Cognitive Skills.

Argumentative Essay
Argumentative Essay
The function of an argumentative essay is to show that your assertion (opinion, theory, and
hypothesis) about some phenomenon or phenomena is correct or more truthful than others . The art of
argumentation is not an easy skill to acquire. Many people might think that if one simply has an
opinion, one can argue it successfully, and these folks are always surprised when others don t agree
with them because their logic seems so correct. Argumentative writing is the act of forming reasons,
making inductions, drawing conclusions, and applying them to the case in discussion; the operation of
inferring propositions, not known or admitted as true, from facts or principles known, admitted, or
proved to be true. It clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inductive logic arrives at likely conclusions by counting up evidence, while deductive logic arrives at
necessary conclusions by examining the logical meanings of statements. According to Purdue
University English Profession Neil Gill, deductive arguments can be grouped into two categories: A
Rogerian argument considers several viewpoints and selects the best one, whereas a Toulmin
argument presents a single, linear argument (i.e., A therefore B) in support of a position. Fallacious
Fallacious arguments are logical seeming arguments that are not valid. Unlike logical arguments,
fallacious arguments do not arrive at valid conclusions or inferences. There are literally dozens of
fallacious arguments you can commit; a fallacious argument style is one that commits one or more
fallacies frequently. For example, if a person in an argument persistently says, the economy went up
this year, therefore the party in power caused the economy to improve, that person is engaging in the
post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy, an invalid argument of the form x happened, y happened, therefore x
caused y. Social Argumentation Styles
Argumentation can be looked at in terms of the way the interlocutors perceive each other. According

American Romanticism As Portrayed By Walt Whitman s Song...

Song of myself (1855)
Narrative (1845)
American Romanticism as portrayed by Walt Whitman s Song of Myself and Fredrick Douglass s
Narrative American Romanticism focuses on the imagination, emotions and idealized perspectives of
the world. Romanticism is in opposition to the forms and conventions of Neoclassical Literature and is
a reaction to the Age of reason which preceded Romanticism. Reason was ruled out in this era in place
of imagination, individuality, and emotions, which are all three roots that defines Romanticism.
Although, Walt Whitman s Song of Myself and Frederick Douglass Narrative were written ten years
apart, many persons that wrote in this era represented the major ideas and themes of the Romanticism
era. As an Abolitionist Romance Narrative, Frederick Douglass s Narrative consists of a journey from
repression to transcendence. The Romantic elements in his Narrative, created the highest possible
effect for abolitionism by not only being highly realistic but, also romantic in nature. Prior to the
Narrative, was the abolitionist movement in which the unique role of African Americans allowed for
moral superiority, as the audience could voice one of authority, moral understanding, and experience.
Douglass was the perfect person who had profound intelligence and oratory abilities who could
command the kind of respect capable of energizing that movement. Not only did Douglass s work

International Students Can Overcome Challenges
International students face many different challenges when studying abroad. This is due to many
factors. First, they are living in a country very far away from their own. The country they are studying
at has a very different way of life than theirs. Further more, the laws in that country are much different
than the laws in their own country. Due to that they face a lot of problems trying to adapt to this new
culture. Me personally as an international student in the US studying at ASU, have faced three
particularly difficult challenges that I was able to overcome through time. In this essay I will explain
how international students can overcome tough challenges and situations. The first challenge, and in
my opinion the most crucial challenge that I had to face was learning the English language, and
communicating with different people. Almost every international student is faced with this challenge;
Alberto Fernández Fernández said, International students often face adjustment issues impacting their
level of satisfaction with their experience. These involve oral language proficiency, as well as feelings
of anxiety and isolation resulting from language deficiencies . This challenge was important for me to
overcome due to the fact that I am here for the sole purpose to study in an American University, so
obviously I am required to learn the language. Likewise, I have to learn how to speak so that I can be
able to communicate with other students and professors. I personally

Essay on Arne Duncan s Continuing Failure of Renaissance 2010
Arne Duncan is the current Secretary of Education in Washington and was the biggest architect of the
Renaissance 2010 movement within the Chicago Public Schools. He has been an effective leader for
the charter school movement, or turn around schools as they begin to shape the education systems of
underprivileged cities in the rest of the United States of America. There are many people who are in
favor of the charter schools coming up through the education system, but there are others who are
seeing the negative impact on their families and children. This renaissance is good for creating a better
education for students, but the scale is heavily tipped to one side that is harming people who are/have
been involved in Chicago Public Schools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When schools are converted to charters or turned around they are following the educational reform of
Arne Duncan to give better education to underserved areas in Chicago. The myth of this is that these
schools are highly beneficial to the underprivileged areas when in fact they are doing a great amount
of harm. In Arne Duncan and the Chicago Success Story: Myth or Reality? the myth is recognized by
stating the impact on children and teachers; a statement from the article says, Renaissance 2010 was
(and is) marketed as an opportunity to bring in new partners with creative approaches to education.
That s the myth (Brown, Gutstein, Lipman, 2009). As stated, the myth here is schools should be
operated as markets and the charter school system does this by getting rid of the difficult working
ways and replacing them with creative partners. Brown, Gutstein and Lipman further explain why the
charter school is harming the community saying how students are facing attendance and violence
problems, ...there is no guarantee that a student who had their school closed will attend a charter
school and those who had their school closed down have faced destabilization of spikes in violence...
(Brown, Gutstein, Lipman, 2009). This demonstrates the fault of charter schools because it shows how
community warnings were ignored on what school closings will do to the neighborhood. A further
statement on the problem with teachers and charters schools found in the

The Ramifications of Government Reform on Education Essay
America currently ranks 36th in the world in regards to education. This encompasses reading, math,
and science. Education in the United States represents multiple achievement gaps across ethnicities,
income levels, and geography. There are many reasons as to why America ranks low. The curriculum
in the United States varies widely from district to district and stretches from state to state, which is one
of the major problems in why America compares greatly to that of other countries. For instance,
different schools offer different classes. In some schools classes that may be a requirement for
students might not even be an option for others at a school that may be right across town. This pertains
especially to public and private schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, states are required to develop assessments on basic skills. These assessments vary and can
be given on any subject with varying frequencies. Because the act does not enforce a national
achievement standard, each state develops its own standards. Therefore, the requirements,
expectations, and achievements are diverse.
The No Child Left Behind Act promotes the idea that competition between schools will increase the
efficiency and effectiveness of the education system. At the same time, the rhetoric of NCLB
maintains the progressive message of the Common School era (Aske, Connolly, Corman, 107) In
essence, it is contradictory. On the one hand the act wants competition so that students will learn more
and want to achieve more. However, it also wants all schools to be on the same level or playing field
so that they are equal. In order to achieve with competition some will have to be left behind, therefore
there is no real way to measure actual achievement with a common school ideal.
The Common School era dates back to the 19th century and states that in America it is the idea or
expectation that all children are supported equally in regards to education and are afforded the same
opportunities. It is based on the view that education should be an equitable, assimilative,

Modeling The Agrometeorological Indices Of The Surface...
. Modeling the agrometeorological indices
The surface temperature (T0) product was not used because with a lower spatial resolution (1000 km),
there were cloud contaminations in some parts of the Minas Gerais state along the years. Instead, T0
was retrieved by residue in the radiation balance after having estimated the atmospheric and surface
emissivities (Teixeira et al., 2016a,b).
Cleugh et al. (2007) pointed out that the use of instantaneous measurements of the radiometric surface
temperature to calculate time averaged fluxes led to errors. They emphasized uncertainties in models
which use the MODIS 8 day that is a composite of once daily overpass at ~ 10:30 h local time. In this
case, the radiometric temperature is determined under a view angle at the satellite overpass time, using
emissivities based on vegetation classes at a 1 km grid that differs from that of the MODIS pixel
location.
The parameterizations involved in the agrometeorological indices by using the SAFER algorithm in
this chapter were done in Brazil with simultaneous satellite and field measurements, under strong
contrasting agro ecosystems and thermohydrological conditions throughout different years (Teixeira et
al., 2008, 2014a). In addition, acquiring T0 as residue in the radiation balance gives mutual
compensation, reducing possible errors in this model input parameter, and as in the upward and
downward longwave fluxes, they are self canceling. Moreover, a correction factor is applied to

Why Is It Morally Permissible To Turn The Runaway Trolley
To begin with, the Trolley case is an experiment where you are put into a situation where you are on a
runaway trolley where the breaks do not work and you are headed for five people and you can either
hit the five people, killing them or save them by turning the trolley hitting one person and killing him.
There is another scenario called the Footbridge case where you are in the same situation but in order
to save the five people you have to push a fat man off a bridge stopping the trolley. This is very
interesting experiment that questions human ethics and morality. It makes you think whether or not it
is morally permissible to turn the trolley. I argue that there is an important moral difference between
the Trolley case and the Footbridge case because there is a difference between letting someone die to
save people and killing someone to save people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I disagree with Thompson that it would be impermissible to re direct the trolley because even though
in both cases one person dies from an action you take, the action has different moral standards of
reason of what is right and what is wrong. Most people agree that it is morally permissible to turn the
trolley killing the one man to save people five and it is wrong to push a fat man from a bridge to save
five people. Most people believe this because they know that there is a distinct moral difference
between incidentally killing someone and intentionally killing someone. Intentionally killing some
one is a universal law that has serious consequences which is why people view pushing the fat man off
the bridge as

But before you strike out to hunt down any manure, it would be a good idea to actually know what
you are looking for, wouldn t it? There are many types of mature out there in that big old world. There
is the pure manure, you know, the manure that is just manure and nothing else. There is also the not so
pure manure, which is the manure that has the animal s bedding that supplied the manure. While either
type of manure will do a garden good, the best type is the one with the bedding mixed into it because
it will contain more of the necessary nutrients and soil amendments that, when added to the garden
spot, will be beneficial. Unfortunately, the manure that has bedding in it is not the manure that is sold
in bags at stores most of the time. This type of manure will have to come directly from the source. So
this is where the hunting of the elusive manure for your garden will actually begin. A good place to
start looking for home grown manure is the local feed store. The customers that feed stores have are
usually the same ones who will have the manure you are looking for. Feed store customers are usually
those folks who raise cattle, horses, dogs, hogs, sheep, chickens, goats and other animals. All of these
animals produce manure and quite often the people who raise these animals will have pens that the
animals are kept in, thus leading to manure that has to go somewhere. Usually the animal owners will
gladly part with this manure, but you may have to be willing and ready to collect it yourself. That
means bring a shovel and dig in. Other places that can often help with the manure hunt are
veterinarian clinics that specialize in large animals, police departments that have mounted officers,
colleges and universities that have veterinary programs or agriculture programs and even pet stores
may be able to help. But if you get your manure from a pet store, try not

Relevance And Authenticity Of Instruction
M Relevance and authenticity in instruction really stood out as memorable to me this week. It is
mentioned that connection to real meaning can make or break learning (Reiser and Dempsey, p. 58). I
completely agree that teaching skills in isolation or without any real connection can result in
temporary memorization, but no long term retention or the ability to transfer that knowledge to new
situations. I appreciate the authors pointing out that to maximize the likelihood of meaningful learning
occurring, students need to ... work on problems that a) mean something to them personally and b) are
rich and complex enough to invoke real expertise (Reiser and Dempsey, p. 58). If students are shown
that the knowledge is relevant and needed in real world situations, they are more likely to internalize

A I agreed with Reiser and Dempsey (p 352) when they discussed that everyone in a group learns
information in different ways. While this statement in the text was referring to assistive technologies, I
believe it is true of any learner. There are many different styles of learning and preferences for
acquiring and demonstrating knowledge. To provide students with the most effective learning
environment, it is best to provide choices in how to interact with information. Some students may

The Regency Grand Hotel is a five star hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The hotel was established fifteen
years ago by a local consortium of investors and has been operated by a Thai general manager
throughout this time. The hotel is one of Bangkok s most prestigious hotels, and its 700 employees

The Regency Grand Hotel has always been very profitable, and its employees have always worked
according to management s instructions. Their responsibility has been to ensure that the instructions
from their managers are carried out diligently and conscientiously. Under the previous management,
innovation and creativity were discouraged. Indeed, employees were punished for their mistakes and
discouraged from trying out ideas that had not been approved by management. As a result, employees
were afraid to be innovative and to take risks.
Becker met with Regency s managers and department heads to explain that empowerment would be
introduced in the hotel. He told them that employees must be empowered with decision making
authority so that they could use their initiative, creativity and judgment to satisfy guest needs, and
handle problems effectively and efficiently. However, he stressed that the more complex issues and
decisions were to be referred to superiors, who were to coach and assist rather than provide direct
orders. Furthermore, Becker stressed that mistakes were allowed but that making the same mistakes
more than twice would not be tolerated. He advised his managers and department heads not to discuss
with him minor issues or problems and not to consult with him about minor decisions. Nevertheless,
he told them that they were to discuss important, major issues and decisions with him. He concluded
the meeting by asking

I See The Desktop Picture Of My Grandfather s Computer Essay
Whenever I see the desktop picture of my Grandfather s computer, I remember the date of my new
journey. It s a pretty old photo and the background of it is a huge billboard with the phrase of Bon
Voyage in Chinese. What s more interesting is how the two boys in the front are expressing two totally
opposite facial expressions. The older one is trying his best to hold back to his tears and the younger
one is just fooling around by the travelers. The fulfilled up baggage carts and the screens of departure
times are a bit inharmonious to the overall setting, but it s the last picture before the older boy bursted
into tears. I can still remember every details before and after that day. It s a normal Tuesday morning
of my summer. Unlike the any usual morning, today, I wake up with the chatter of the sparrows. As
the warm orange embraces me through the French windows in my bedroom, I change into the clothes
that were place on my drawer since Sunday. While I was rushing out of the house to say goodbye to
my friends, I can still see the unfinished Lego on the couch since the first day of vacation, but addition
to that, there are twelve colorful suit cases and some of my Grandparents friends in the living room.
After some quick greetings and a very quick bite of breakfast, I am in the front of my best friend s
house. However, the only person that come out after my 10 minutes, unstopped pressing of doorbell is
her mother. Why are you here so early, she didn t even wake up yet!

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Globalisation
For the last two decades, globalisation has been the main concern for many countries in the world, but
it is not simply a process that started two decades ago, many studies suggested that globalisation is an
essential part in mankind economic history that has stretched for thousands of years (C.R., 2013).
Globalisation, as proposed by Al Rodhan and Stoudmann (2006), can be defined as follows:
Globalisation is a process that encompasses the causes, course, and consequences of transnational and
transcultural integration of human and non human activities (Al Rodhan Stoudmann, 2006)
It is believed that technology is the driving force of globalisation, in turn, globalisation enables the
remarkable rate of technological changes (Archibugi Iammarino, 2002). However, not every country
experiences the same benefits of these technological changes. This essay ... Show more content on

For example, in the aforementioned case of Ireland, although having a substantial economic growth,
most sectors of the Irish high technology industry were under the domination by foreign companies,
this in turn lead to Ireland having to deeply depend on global needs for information technology. As a
consequence, Ireland s economy was particularly affected by the global recession in 2001 (Cackler et
al., 2008). Moreover, the lack of infrastructures, knowledge and experience that are capable to
facilitate modern technology makes developing countries have to utilise the development strategy of
leapfrogging . The term leapfrogging refers to the adoption of an advanced or state of the art
technology, bypassing prior stages of development (Steinmueller, 2001). The strategy seems to be
fruitful, however, it might pose a high liability to developing countries when there are involvements of
premature technologies, without careful planning and evaluation, expensive failures are prompted to

Women In The New Yam Family
The women in order to get married must be purchased or sought after and gifts among other things are
given to her family in order to have her. It shows how women are treated as property it can also show
affection in a way in order to have her as a wife you need to deserve her. When a woman does marry
she must be obedient and listen to her husband, plant only certain crops; they grew women s crops,
like coco yams, beans and cassava (3.28). They try so hard to set women apart from men. They are
respected in a way as mothers. When you need help you go to your mother s land to seek help because
that is where her body is buried because your mother is caring and loving. So women are shown as
forgiving loving, which are all good qualities but they can be seen as weak. Which in the tribe they are
seen as weak qualities or in general if you do not work you do nothing you are weak. Even though the
women help each other raise the children which is a big task considering all else they have to do.
When they do not listen to their husband they are beat; Okonkwo threatens Ekwefi with a gun after

Change In The Things They Carried By Tim O Brien
Imagine a novel or a movie that is about war that has not even one change in a character s personality.
Change is really important in many novels and movies for instance in Batman VS Superman: Dawn of
Justice, the theme of change takes a huge role in the movie because by the end of the movie Batman
and Superman unite after being against each other or in George Orwell s allegory about the Russian
Revolution Animal Farm the theme of change takes a huge role also because in the beginning the pigs
order the animals in the farm to rebel against their bad farmer Mr. Jones and Humanity but by the end
the pigs became friends with the humans as if no rebellion happened. The of change is really
important for all the stories that are about fights or war. In The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien

War Of The Worlds by H.G. Wells As the Martians fire their deadly heat rays, destroying towns and
cities will anyone survive against the overwhelming odds? What were the Martians doing here? This
could not have been a friendly visit, so what were their intentions? In H.G. Wells War of the Worlds
the humans instinct to survive overcomes threats to their existence. When faced with the unknown the
human instinct for survival gives us only two options, fight or flight. When the unknown plumes of

the Navy had already known that guns and heavy weaponry could not destroy the Martians fighting

Literary Analysis Of Superman
John Ondrasik s Superman, expresses the message of society expecting perfection and putting people
on too high of a pedestal. Using Superman as a symbol, Ondrasik unveils the hardship of living up to
the expectations of society. Due to his unique abilities and powers, society expects nothings less than
perfection from Superman. Having lost his family and home planet It is not easy to be [Superman].
Superman has to fight everything that society tells him to so that he can be himself. He is put on a
high pedestal in society and is expected to perform in tough situations. Many people in the world look
up to Superman due to his special powers. Society assumes Superman s life is easy and perfect since
he has these powers which make a mockery of mere mortals but it is not. Superman wishes people did
not think so much of him and tries hard to please everyone. Frustration builds up and Superman feels
like killing himself (hence the kryptonite). Superman simply cannot make a mistake since he is always
expected to succeed. Similarly, many people in our society are put on high pedestals. Even students
like ourselves, are expected to receive straight A s and never score inadequate on a test. Eventually,
when these students receive a mediocre grade, they are ashamed of themselves. These students are
frightened to inform their parents since their expectations are so high. Athletes are also put under
tremendous pressure to perform in big games. Failing is simply not an option. If one fails to succeed,
the loss will follow them around for the rest of their lives. A stamp of failure will revolve around their
name. Similarly, Superman feels like he is put on a high pedestal. Society does not let Superman cry
or dream since he is not a normal person. He is not expected to cry or dream . His duty is to protect
Earth from deleterious villains and he does not have a choice to say no. Society needs to be less naive
and understand that reaching perfection is not possibly. Like Superman, men in today s society are
socialized to be strong, dependable, and emotionless. Men are required to repress their emotions and
expected to live up to a ridiculous idea of what it is to be a man . Using Superman as a symbol is a

The Bundy Standoff In Oregon Rebellion Essay
People often rebel because they have something they feel is important to say and they want to be sure
they are heard. Rebelling against the government is quite common; as people believe, the government
is overusing its power or going against the constitution for personal gain. It does not come as a
surprise that people rebel against the government and I believe this is a fit subject for a mad house.
(Washington 2017) Rebellions often lead to people being hurt or killed. I have prevented stopped

There were multiple reasons that people decided to rebel against the government during. One cause of
the rebellion was because debt collectors were trying to collect money that the people did not have.
The money taken from the people was causing people to not be able to care for himself or herself or
put money back to the community. Another reason for the rebellion was that they believe the money
raised was going to the government for personal interest instead of going to the debt they owe to other
countries. The next reason was that Habeas Corpus was suspended. Habeas Corpus was put in place to
bring people accused of wrongdoing before a judge as a way give legal rights to the people. The
suspension of Habeas Corpus caused what the people believed was unjust punishment. (Gray) The
final reason for their rebellion was that Justices of the Peace, including Sheriffs and Deputies, were

The Iran Hostage Crisis Essay
In January 1979, Iranians opposed to the Shah s rule invaded the American embassy in Tehran and
held a group of 52 American diplomats and other hostages for 444 days. The Shah left Iran and the
victorious Ayatollah Khomeini returned that February. Of the approximately 90 people inside the
embassy, 52 remained in captivity until the end of the crisis. The reputation of the Ayatollah Khomeini
and the hostage taking was further enhanced with the failure of a hostage rescue attempt that cost
lives. The Ayatollah Khomeini set forth several demands to be met prior to the release of the hostages.
The US had options of their own; however, the risk to the hostages required the utmost consideration.

The Weaknesses Of The Tao-Te Ching And The Prince
It is important to recognize not only the strengths of the Tao te Ching and The Prince, but also the
weaknesses. There are some ideas present in these writings that are not practical for a modern
American leader to follow. Lao tzu writes that the best kind of leader is one that the people are hardly
aware of; this would be nearly impossible for an American politician. The Master described in the Tao
te Ching is honest, humble, compassionate, and reserved. These traits are not what modern politicians
strive to be, and are not practical characteristics in a person running for office. As unsettling as it may
sound, American presidential candidates cannot be humble; they must prove to the public that they are
the best fit for the presidency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With all that has changed since the time Lao tzu lived and since Machiavelli s era, it is important to
note the ideas that remain. Those ideas find support within political parties, and they conflict in the
same way that the Tao te Ching and The Prince have for so long. What remains is a standoff between
two extreme ideologies. I do not mean to suggest that a modern leader should be like neither Lao tzu
nor Machiavelli, rather the opposite. I believe that a good leader should be like Lao tzu, Machiavelli,
Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and every other successful leader that came before him. The
key to being a good leader is knowing when it is appropriate to think like Guatama Buddha, and when
to use battle strategies similar to those of Alexander the Great. Ideal leaders do not debate over which
of the great strategists from the past is best; they understand the individual strengths that made
historical figures successful and know when to use each one. An intelligent leader views two
extremes, understands the arguments for both sides, and decides which is better. An ideal leader
decides which strengths from each argument would form the best

Imagine winning the lottery right now, smiling while holding a big check for five hundred million

What Is The Mood Of Shalott And If I Die Young
The Victorian Era saw a huge growth in literacy and literature. This is due largely to everyone
receiving mandated education, though it was a miniscule amount, and also because the printing press
made printed works more accessible (Reid Notes #5). One author who was published during this time
and became very popular was Lord Alfred Tennyson. For the first twenty or so years of Tennyson s
career he was not very successful and was very poor. After some time, his wealth and fame began to

This is displayed in the poem when Tennyson states But in her web she still delights (Tennyson line

happiness in doing that and does not care to look or go outside. In the song, The Band Perry states The
sharp knife of a short life, Well I ve had just enough time (The Band Perry). The singer is stating that
though her life has been short, it has been enough time to experience life. Also, both characters wish to
end up in some type of kingdom. As the Lady of Shalott is in the boat She floated down to Camelot
(Tennyson line 140). Her intention once getting into the boat was to end up in the kingdom that is
Camelot, perhaps to see Sir Lancelot once again. In the song, the lyrics state And I ll be wearing white

that the kingdom that is mentioned is referencing heaven, and the character could possibly be wearing
white to symbolize her innocence due to being

Screwtape Letter Essay
In the Screwtape Letter, by C.S. Lewis, Srewtape insists that all pleasures are created by the Enemy,
meaning God, and that demons have not figured out how to create them. It s an idea commonly seen in
Christian theology. God brought all things into this world to be good, and those things can and have
been corrupted by demons and the lot. What Screwtape is saying is that, God wants people to
experience pleasure, and that it is a demon s job to corrupt a person s sense of that pleasure. Screwtape
brings up the idea multiple times throughout his letters. He mentions it mainly with talking about love
and corrupting Wormwood s human s idea of love. His focus on it seems to show some kind of
fascination. Possibly that of envy. Not in the sense ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Surely if God created all pleasures, then all pleasures are good, and thus, sin cannot exist. However,
each person possess free will, and with that free will, must choose a path that brings them to God.
Therefore, without some temptations, free will would be rather pointless, as everyone would forcibly
be in the grace of God.
While that s a possibility, a much more likely reason is presented in the Screwtape Letters. Which is,
once again, that demons corrupt that which God has already establish. Screwtape is constantly telling
Wormwood how to use and abuse the free will which God has given humans, and even mentions at
one point how easy it would be for God to just draw everyone to him, but how it would violate free
will. So really, it is a combination of both free will and God punishing those who fall from his path
and allow themselves to be controlled by demons.
In conclusion, all pleasures were made by God. They were not intended to be sin, however, demons
corrupted them into sin, to draw people into their domain. Humans, having free will, are freely
influenced off the path to God into that sin, by demons. In Screwtape Letters, Screwtape frequently
talks about using pleasures and exploiting free will for Wormwood to ensure he captures the soul of
the human he s assigned

Italy During The Renaissance Era
The Renaissance era was a time of grand cultural and social changes for Europe. This era
began around the year 1350 up until the year 1700. The Renaissance era s birthplace was Italy,
then spread all across to Europe around the 17th century. The word Renaissance means rebirth
which is a perfect description of the theme of this era. People were going through changes in
many things such as the way they learned and in art as well. The one major reason why the
Renaissance began in Italy in the first place was mainly because of geography. The city states of
Italy, which were located right on the Mediterranean Sea, were the popular places for trade and
commerce.

In the end, Thomas is now very much known as an outstanding father of English

The History of Greek Architecture Essays
The History of Greek Architecture
The architecture of ancient Greece is represented by buildings in the sanctuaries and cities of mainland
Greece, the Aegean islands, southern
Italy and Sicily, and the Ionian coast of Turkey. Monumental Greek architecture began in the archaic
period, flourished through the classical and Hellenistic periods, and saw the first of many revivals
during the
Roman Empire. The roots of Greek architecture lie in the tradition of local
Bronze Age house and palaces. The following paper will cover the basic forms of Greek architecture.
One of the many types of Greek building structures was Sacred
Architecture. The Greeks conceived of their gods in human form, as

This era brought about the introduction of both the Doric and Ionic Orders.
The Doric Order, which originated around 400 BCE brought rise to a whole new type of building
technique and style. In the archaic temples, stone gradually started to replace wood, and some of the
structural details of the early buildings appear to have been copied in stone. At Thermon, in
northwestern Greece, a succession of buildings from the Last Bronze Age throughout the sixth century
BCE show the evolution of the Doric temple from a hall shaped like a hairpin to a long rectangular
building with a porch at either end and surrounded by columns. The temple of Hera at
Olympia, built about 600 BCE, had wooden columns that were gradually replaced by stone ones,
probably as votive gifts. The variety of column and capital shapes illustrates the evolution of the Doric
order. The earliest columns had a heavy, bulging profile, and their capitals were broad and low.
During the archaic period, limestone became the standard building material for foundations, steps,
walls, columns, and Doric entablature. Building such as the famous Temple of Aphaia on Aegina
illustrate the dramatic influence of the Doric order.
White the Doric order became the standard for mainland Greece, the
Ionian colonies in the eastern Aegean were developing a very different system of columns and
entablature based on Egyptian and Near Eastern architecture. The tall slender columns, low
entablature, and

Identity Crisis In My Ghana
Reputation is everything to most families in Ghana. My grandparents have always defended their
reputation for decades. This has created a culture whereby the opinions of others about the family
matters more than the actual reality. Living under such circumstances raises expectations and forces an
individual to live by the dictates of society. It creates an identity crisis because you become who
society expects you to be rather than finding your true self.
In the early sixties, during the exodus of professionals from Ghana to Nigeria, my grandparents left
Ghana with my mum to Nigeria. My mum got pregnant with me at age fifteen in Nigeria and to
protect the family image she was sent back to Ghana by my grandparents to live in Ghana with a
family friend. My dad was never informed and to this day he has no idea I exist. My Grandparents
moved back to Ghana about three years after this incident.
Growing up as a kid, I was under the impression that my grandparents were my parents. At the age 8
when I found out the truth, I felt insecure in who I was and where I belonged. From then through by

As a group, we wanted to come to a decision that was both ethical and effective. According to UC San
Diego (2014), if the decision was ethical, it would hold up to the moral standard of the group. If the
decision was effective, it would satisfy the moral standard in both short term and long term. After
developing the foundation for our task, we reviewed and discussed the facts of the Nolan Ryan case to
prepare for presenting our initial standpoint on the case. Everyone in the group shared their initial
decision and why they thought it was both ethical and effective. Of the seven people in our group, four
people thought Brian should keep the card and three people thought that Brian should give the card
back. Because our initial decisions were such a tossup, it was critical that we considered the
consequences of both decisions and how they affect the stakeholders, while still considering the group

The Secret Lives of The Brain
PART I. Incognito: The Secret Lives of The Brain, was very straight forward and extremely intriguing.
As David Eagleman, a neuroscientist, elaborates on the American criminal justice system, he brings
out important factors that I believe everyone should be focusing on in this country. He states that our
actions are not only made up by our unconscious mind, but the way we perceive things is controlled
by our unconscious ability to even realize we are controlling it. The conscious mind not only
represents only a small part of our brain activity and function, but it also perceives certain behaviors
differently when constructed with drugs or damage The process of the unconscious brain activity
differs from the conscious part but they both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David Eagleman explained in detail how the cognitive brain works and what factors play a part in the
thought process. He did so by picking apart different segments of the brain and describing what
developmental processes it goes through when obtaining thought and language. I would definitely
recommend this book to other people if they want to better understand how people think, act, and
behave. When certain things are skewed in the brain, it reacts in many different ways. Whether that be
poorly or very highly. It depends on what factors are brought upon the brain and what that specific
part of the brain takes in. Eagleman does a fantastic job explaining with good humor how the thought
process comes about. Without our cognitive ability to think and act, there would be no personality or
knowledge on this earth. I believe that the book was sort of well organized in that Eagleman did a
good job of pairing together segments of the brain and explaining how they work together or as a
whole. But, I did however, think that Eagleman jumped around a lot and didn t seem very clear in
some parts. For instance, when he would talk about how the conscious mind is just the tip of the
iceberg in the brain, then what is the rest of the brain doing? He goes into detail about the conscious
and unconscious brain, but what about the subconscious part? It s crazy to think that our body can
react to certain stimuli and situations before we even realize that we need to act upon

Christian Perspective On Expectancy Violations Theory
Carter Almquist
Communication Theory
Professor McCormick
December 2, 2014
Christian Perspective on Expectancy Violations Theory In this paper there will be a critical analysis of
the Expectancy Violations Theory and views points of a Christian on that theory. Expectancy
Violations Theory is best defined as a way to explain how someone reacts to unexpected behavior of
their friends and peers and the many meanings that people bring to the violation of their personal
space. According to communicationtheory.org, Expectancy violation is a communication theory which
tries to explain the unexpected behaviors of human beings while interacting. The theory is based on
the uncertainty reduction theory where the vagueness on the behaviors of the others is reduced through
interaction (communicationtheory.org). It is another way to measure how happy others interact with
one another. There are proxemics levels of space to measure this physically. The first is personal space
which is 2 4 feet. The next is social distance which is 4 12 feet. The next is public distance which is 12
feet. The truth is that the way Christians should react is the way that Jesus Christ would react.
Christians should be welcoming and not bound by the earthly ways of communicating. Psalms 1:1 6
says,
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor
sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day

Shakespeare s Sister
Virginia Woolf in the chapter Shakespeare s Sister from A Room of One s Own states that women in
the 19th and 20th century did not have the same privileges and opportunities that men got in their
lifetime, thus not being able to explore their passions of writing and art, rather being the slave of any
boy whose parents forced a ring upon her finger (694). She uses this to argue why women are seen as
inferior to men and that if women had had the same freedoms to live life contrary to what society
insists, they would be able to write like Shakespeare and have an equal playing field to men.
One of Woolf s main points in her essay is that women did not get the same opportunities as men and
were discouraged by society to write, act, and make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Woolf states: Because the mind of an artist, in order to achieve the prodigious effort of freeing whole
and entire the work that is in him, must be incandescent, like Shakespeare s mind, (703). By this she
means that men had the freedom to write, they did not have society discouraging them, or putting
roadblocks in their way. Women could not think for themselves because society was constantly telling
them what they should do and who they should marry, and encouraging them to be mothers, rather
than leaders. Having to live up to society s expectations certainly did not let women have an
incandescent mind. Woolf also states: The world did not say to her as it said to them, Write if you
choose; it makes no difference to me. The world said with a guffaw, Write? What s the good of your
writing (701). This lack of encouragement for women made it difficult for them to achieve their
dreams and be able to showcase their talents to the world.
This false notion of men being intellectually superior to women was a widely accepted idea in the 19th
century. Woolf explains, there was an enormous body of masculine opinion to the effect that nothing
could be expected of women intellectually (702). By this, one could infer that women were only seen
for their beauty, and as wives. This objectification of women is seen in society today through media s
portrayal of women, and through many cultural norms of women being expected to stay at home and

Being There by Jerzy Kosinski Essay
In his novel Being There, Jerzy Kosinski shows how present day culture has strayed away from the
ideal society that Plato describes in his allegory of the cave. In his metaphor, Plato describes the
different stages of life and education through the use of a cave. In the first level of the cave, Plato
describes prisoners who are shackled and facing a blank wall. Behind them is a wall of fire with a
partition that various objects are placed and manipulated by another group of people. These shadows
are the only action that they ever see. They can only talk to the surrounding prisoners, and watch the
puppet show on the wall in front of them. Naturally, the prisoners come to believe that the shadows on
the wall in front of them are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the prisoners in the cave, he is a prisoner in the house, only gaining knowledge from the shadows that
moved within his TV. His lack of social skills becomes much more apparent once he leaves the house
for the first time. He has no intended destination, and wanders the streets. Once he is hurt by the
limousine, he is given an injection to ease his pain. As the doctor fills the needle, he wants to show
fear, not because he has had this experience before, but because he visualized all the TV incidents in
which he had seen injections being given (Kosinski 33). Just like the prisoners in the cave, he was
trying to understand a reality based on pictures in order to react to the world around him. One thing
that he has never experienced is any type of a sex life. He found himself in a room with EE, where she

  • 2. Booker T Washington 1894 Atlanta Compromise Speech Analysis In Booker T. Washington s 1895 Atlanta Compromise Speech, he is trying to convince his audience by using vivid imagery, allegories, repetition, and reasonable ideas. He uses an optimistic tone to convey four appeals. Throughout the whole speech, he establishes his credibility to a predominantly white audience to make his point stand out for the changes he believes are necessary. Booker T. Washington delivers the 1895 Atlanta Compromise Speech to a white and black audience about the equality blacks and whites deserve. As a black speaker in the north, Washington influences and impresses many of the northern citizens with his moving speech. Washington brought with him ...evidence of racial progress in the South . His audience contained the president and the board of directors as well as citizens. In the beginning, Washington uses vivid imagery through his ideas. He begins his speech with strong statistics, One third of the population of the South is of the Negro race. No enterprise seeking the material, civil, or moral welfare of this section can disregard this element of our population and reach the highest success, (Washington 1). Using logos in this speech shows his strong points to his audience revealing a realistic view of what is going on around them, and represent the kind of power the black population actually has. Washington also applies ethos in his opening statements by establishing his credibility and aspirations. American Negro been more fittingly and generously recognized than by the managers of this magnificent Exposition at every stage of its progress. It is a recognition that will do more to cement the friendship of the two races than any occurrence since the dawn of our freedom, (Washington 1). He uses this to to express his aspirations for the long run and establish where he stands. Without this section, Washington may not have everyone s attention in the audience. The purpose may not be understood as clearly. Later in his speech, Washington uses strong rhetorical devices to deliver more examples of his point of view and feelings on this topic. Washington uses many powerful rhetorical devices throughout his speech, including this allegory, A ship lost at sea for many days suddenly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Comparison in the Presentation of the ‘Horrors of War’... A Comparison in the Presentation of the Horrors of War in Birdsong and A Journey s End In Journey s End there are a lot of references to the shear numbers of people killed on the battlefield. Quotes such as One thousand eight hundred companies in France use figures to stress just how epic the war really was, the reader has to be reminded of how vast the war was as most of the readers would not have experienced it for themselves. Journey s End makes the mass death seem even more insignificant by introducing the fact that the German s were just like the allied forces, I remember once at Wipers we had a man shot down...Next day we blew each other to blazes , no matter what happened the two sides ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is however some suggestion of injury, S M shrinks back and throws his hands across his face, as though a human hand could ward off the hot flying pieces which give the text a definite dark tone to the otherwise cheery mood. The likely explanation for a lack of graphic imagery is that the text was intended as a play and therefore severe injuries would be complicated to apply mid performance. Birdsong alternatively is a fairly graphic novel, Faulks was not afraid to describe in detail the shear horror and physical grotesque of war. As Birdsong is a novel the inclusion of such description is far more practical than in the play format of A Journey s End. Faulks uses violent imagery to captivate the reader, well described events can be easily imagined by the reader and therefore creates far more involvement with the characters and settings. His nose dangled and Stephan could see his teeth through the missing cheek is a good example of violent imagery that is very effective in drawing the reader in. The far greater amount of violence in Birdsong is likely to be because the text was published far after the war, Faulks was far more informed about the war and he did not have to worry about causing public upset. An element that plays big parts in both texts is the loss of battlefield friends and the deaths of family ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Outsider In To Kill A Mockingbird Discuss the theme of an oustider in Silas Marner and To Kill a Mockingbird. What is an outsider? The dictionary defines that an outsider is a person excluded from a group. The outsider plays an important part in both novels. In Silas Marner by George Eliot Silas is the main outsider, however in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee even though Boo is the obvious outsider there are many others. Silas Marner is written by George Eliot, which is the pen name of Mary Ann Evans. She had to change her name to a man s name to avoid facing prejudice, as it was not seen proper for a lady to write books, this also makes her an outsider. Due to this she could be more sympathetic with outsiders, this could have influenced her to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To Kill a Mockingbird is set in a town called Maycomb in Alabama. It is written in the 1950 s but is set in 1933 1935. At the time it was set and at the time it was written there was a lot of prejudice against black people in America, especially in the southern states. The 1930 s were also the time of the depression, which meant that many people had gone bankrupt. The Jim Crow laws were also still in motion, which created a segregation of white and black people. In the 1950 s civil rights were important in the U.S.A as black people were fighting for them. It was also the time when the majority of white males were members or sympathisers of the Ku Klux Klan. This adds to the theme of an outsider in this book, because one of the outsiders Tom Robinson is the victim of racial prejudice. Both novels are set thirty years before they are written and both are a hundred years apart. This shows that prejudice is constantly around. In the town of Maycomb hierarchy makes outsiders of people. The Finchs are regarded as southern aristocracy but later become outsiders because Atticus defends Tom Robinson. The Radleys are outsiders because they are so conspicuous and secretive. The Cunninghams and the Ewells have both been bankrupt due to the depression. However the Cunninghams faced it bravely where as the Ewells became dishonest and depraved. They are the white trash of the society, which makes them outsiders. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Brian Friel s Translations Essay Brian Friel s Translations Translations , by Brian Friel, presents us with an idyllic rural community turned on its head as the result of the recording and translation of place names into English; an action which is at first sight purely administrative. In Act 1 of the play, Friel brings together the inhabitants of this quaint Irish village in what can only be described as a gathering of minds minds which study the classics, yet minds which study dead languages. In the same way, while this community is rich in culture and togetherness, it is also trapped in what is later described as a contour which no longer matches the landscape of…fact . Thus, in expressing his ambivalence, Friel presents the reader with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first time Hugh speaks in the play, he greets his class with the line Vesperal salutations to you all , illustrating perfectly the grasp which he has of the Irish language. Furthermore, he is fluent in other languages as well, and has the tendency to say phrases in Latin and Greek before asking members of his class to translate them into Irish. He even has some knowledge of the connotations and etymology of words at the start of the play, he says (in reference to the derivation of the word baptise ), Indeed our friend Pliny Minor speaks of the baptisterium the cold bath . Even Manus, Hugh s son, is intelligent. Near the start of the play, we hear him describe how Biddy Hanna sent for me to write a letter to her sister in Nova Scotia . The fact that Manus is capable of speaking English, despite living in Ireland, displays his knowledge of language. Furthermore, he works in the hedge school, therefore clearly has the knowledge and ability to teach, while the stage directions at the start of the play describe his attitude towards his work as zealous he is not only intelligent, but enthusiastic. Inevitably, not everyone in Baile Beag is up to the standards of Hugh, Jimmy Jack and Manus, yet we get the impression that those less capable members of the hedge school are still willing to learn. Both Bridget and Doalty, two characters who provide the play with many of its comedic moments, are portrayed as less intelligent, yet we see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Colin Kaepernick s Views On Racism Try This 2.3 I am using the same blog I did in the previous assignment. It is about Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback for the 49ers, not standing during the national anthem. He refused to stand. During the interview that night this is the statement he made. Passage I chose: I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. ... This is not something that I am going to run by anybody. I am not looking for approval. I have to stand up for people that are oppressed. ... If they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right, said Colin Kaepernick during his interview. This puzzled me. I was angry, just like a lot of other americans, that Kaepernick would disrespect our country like that. Even though there are problems in our country today, this isn t how you address it. Racism has been in our country since the founding fathers have stepped foot on american soil. Its a sad the way white american have treated black, or other color people, in the past and present. It something that has died down in the last ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not all police officers are murders. Some made some lousy decisions, and they should be persecuted for them, but they aren t all bad. They have the hardest job in this country, hands down. They protect the citizens form hurting, or harming other citizens. Days later after Colin addressed the media, he wore socks that had pigs as cops. In my opinion the people police officers deal with are the pigs. The murders, sex offenders, and thefts, are the pigs. Police officers enforce the law, because some has to. • 7. Gender Roles In Gender Media Mollie Murbach Loforte Anthropology 27 16 May 2016 Gender Roles in Genre Media In order to understand the issues with gender roles in genre media you must first understand what genre media is. In this case genre media is a term used to describe films, television, and books that traditionally cater to a specific fan base. There are two general types of genre media, speculative and science fiction (Sci fi) and situational comedy such as the Big Bang Theory. By focusing on women in speculative and science fiction which is traditionally a boys club a comparison can be made to the ways in which traditional gender roles and stereotypes are portrayed. • 8. Development Of Infants And Toddlers INTRODUCTION I. I m sure we can all relate to the moment when you first meet a new born, infant or even toddler and all you can say is Awh how cute he or she is , and how much you just want to pinch those chubby cheeks or tickle those little toes. II. Whether you ve had a child of our own, have a younger sibling, or even may have never been around young children before, we all have our own experiences and unique ways of interacting with them. III. These little cute bundles of joy, or maybe occasionally not so joyful at times have much more than just cute looks. From birth to five years of age they are actually going through a critical period of development that is a complex and vital to their growth for years to come. IV. Ever since I was a young girl I have always had a great interest in learning about the development of infants and toddlers. Now, as I enter my senior year in the Family and Child Sciences Department at Florida State University, I have gained great one on one personal experience working with children ranging from zero to ten years old. As we all might know the obvious physical developmental signs an infant goes through known as growth. What many may not know is the stages a child moves through known as, child developmental stages or milestones. This includes how the child becomes able to do more complex things as they get older. Such as Gross and fine motor skills, Social and Language skills, and lastly Cognitive Skills. BODY To begin, I will first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Argumentative Essay Argumentative Essay The function of an argumentative essay is to show that your assertion (opinion, theory, and hypothesis) about some phenomenon or phenomena is correct or more truthful than others . The art of argumentation is not an easy skill to acquire. Many people might think that if one simply has an opinion, one can argue it successfully, and these folks are always surprised when others don t agree with them because their logic seems so correct. Argumentative writing is the act of forming reasons, making inductions, drawing conclusions, and applying them to the case in discussion; the operation of inferring propositions, not known or admitted as true, from facts or principles known, admitted, or proved to be true. It clearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Inductive logic arrives at likely conclusions by counting up evidence, while deductive logic arrives at necessary conclusions by examining the logical meanings of statements. According to Purdue University English Profession Neil Gill, deductive arguments can be grouped into two categories: A Rogerian argument considers several viewpoints and selects the best one, whereas a Toulmin argument presents a single, linear argument (i.e., A therefore B) in support of a position. Fallacious Fallacious arguments are logical seeming arguments that are not valid. Unlike logical arguments, fallacious arguments do not arrive at valid conclusions or inferences. There are literally dozens of fallacious arguments you can commit; a fallacious argument style is one that commits one or more fallacies frequently. For example, if a person in an argument persistently says, the economy went up this year, therefore the party in power caused the economy to improve, that person is engaging in the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy, an invalid argument of the form x happened, y happened, therefore x caused y. Social Argumentation Styles Argumentation can be looked at in terms of the way the interlocutors perceive each other. According to the textbook Perspectives ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. American Romanticism As Portrayed By Walt Whitman s Song... Jesha C. Lor Callis Modern Civ LIT 3/21/16 Song of myself (1855) Narrative (1845) American Romanticism as portrayed by Walt Whitman s Song of Myself and Fredrick Douglass s Narrative American Romanticism focuses on the imagination, emotions and idealized perspectives of the world. Romanticism is in opposition to the forms and conventions of Neoclassical Literature and is a reaction to the Age of reason which preceded Romanticism. Reason was ruled out in this era in place of imagination, individuality, and emotions, which are all three roots that defines Romanticism. Although, Walt Whitman s Song of Myself and Frederick Douglass Narrative were written ten years apart, many persons that wrote in this era represented the major ideas and themes of the Romanticism era. As an Abolitionist Romance Narrative, Frederick Douglass s Narrative consists of a journey from repression to transcendence. The Romantic elements in his Narrative, created the highest possible effect for abolitionism by not only being highly realistic but, also romantic in nature. Prior to the Narrative, was the abolitionist movement in which the unique role of African Americans allowed for moral superiority, as the audience could voice one of authority, moral understanding, and experience. Douglass was the perfect person who had profound intelligence and oratory abilities who could command the kind of respect capable of energizing that movement. • 12. International Students Can Overcome Challenges International students face many different challenges when studying abroad. This is due to many factors. First, they are living in a country very far away from their own. The country they are studying at has a very different way of life than theirs. Further more, the laws in that country are much different than the laws in their own country. Due to that they face a lot of problems trying to adapt to this new culture. Me personally as an international student in the US studying at ASU, have faced three particularly difficult challenges that I was able to overcome through time. In this essay I will explain how international students can overcome tough challenges and situations. The first challenge, and in my opinion the most crucial challenge that I had to face was learning the English language, and communicating with different people. Almost every international student is faced with this challenge; Alberto Fernández Fernández said, International students often face adjustment issues impacting their level of satisfaction with their experience. These involve oral language proficiency, as well as feelings of anxiety and isolation resulting from language deficiencies . This challenge was important for me to overcome due to the fact that I am here for the sole purpose to study in an American University, so obviously I am required to learn the language. Likewise, I have to learn how to speak so that I can be able to communicate with other students and professors. I personally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Essay on Arne Duncan s Continuing Failure of Renaissance 2010 Arne Duncan is the current Secretary of Education in Washington and was the biggest architect of the Renaissance 2010 movement within the Chicago Public Schools. He has been an effective leader for the charter school movement, or turn around schools as they begin to shape the education systems of underprivileged cities in the rest of the United States of America. There are many people who are in favor of the charter schools coming up through the education system, but there are others who are seeing the negative impact on their families and children. This renaissance is good for creating a better education for students, but the scale is heavily tipped to one side that is harming people who are/have been involved in Chicago Public Schools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When schools are converted to charters or turned around they are following the educational reform of Arne Duncan to give better education to underserved areas in Chicago. The myth of this is that these schools are highly beneficial to the underprivileged areas when in fact they are doing a great amount of harm. In Arne Duncan and the Chicago Success Story: Myth or Reality? the myth is recognized by stating the impact on children and teachers; a statement from the article says, Renaissance 2010 was (and is) marketed as an opportunity to bring in new partners with creative approaches to education. That s the myth (Brown, Gutstein, Lipman, 2009). As stated, the myth here is schools should be operated as markets and the charter school system does this by getting rid of the difficult working ways and replacing them with creative partners. Brown, Gutstein and Lipman further explain why the charter school is harming the community saying how students are facing attendance and violence problems, ...there is no guarantee that a student who had their school closed will attend a charter school and those who had their school closed down have faced destabilization of spikes in violence... (Brown, Gutstein, Lipman, 2009). This demonstrates the fault of charter schools because it shows how community warnings were ignored on what school closings will do to the neighborhood. • 14. The Ramifications of Government Reform on Education Essay America currently ranks 36th in the world in regards to education. This encompasses reading, math, and science. Education in the United States represents multiple achievement gaps across ethnicities, income levels, and geography. There are many reasons as to why America ranks low. The curriculum in the United States varies widely from district to district and stretches from state to state, which is one of the major problems in why America compares greatly to that of other countries. For instance, different schools offer different classes. In some schools classes that may be a requirement for students might not even be an option for others at a school that may be right across town. This pertains especially to public and private schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, states are required to develop assessments on basic skills. These assessments vary and can be given on any subject with varying frequencies. Because the act does not enforce a national achievement standard, each state develops its own standards. Therefore, the requirements, expectations, and achievements are diverse. The No Child Left Behind Act promotes the idea that competition between schools will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the education system. At the same time, the rhetoric of NCLB maintains the progressive message of the Common School era (Aske, Connolly, Corman, 107) In essence, it is contradictory. On the one hand the act wants competition so that students will learn more and want to achieve more. However, it also wants all schools to be on the same level or playing field so that they are equal. In order to achieve with competition some will have to be left behind, therefore there is no real way to measure actual achievement with a common school ideal. The Common School era dates back to the 19th century and states that in America it is the idea or expectation that all children are supported equally in regards to education and are afforded the same opportunities. • 15. Modeling The Agrometeorological Indices Of The Surface... . Modeling the agrometeorological indices The surface temperature (T0) product was not used because with a lower spatial resolution (1000 km), there were cloud contaminations in some parts of the Minas Gerais state along the years. Instead, T0 was retrieved by residue in the radiation balance after having estimated the atmospheric and surface emissivities (Teixeira et al., 2016a,b). Cleugh et al. (2007) pointed out that the use of instantaneous measurements of the radiometric surface temperature to calculate time averaged fluxes led to errors. They emphasized uncertainties in models which use the MODIS 8 day that is a composite of once daily overpass at ~ 10:30 h local time. In this case, the radiometric temperature is determined under a view angle at the satellite overpass time, using emissivities based on vegetation classes at a 1 km grid that differs from that of the MODIS pixel location. The parameterizations involved in the agrometeorological indices by using the SAFER algorithm in this chapter were done in Brazil with simultaneous satellite and field measurements, under strong contrasting agro ecosystems and thermohydrological conditions throughout different years (Teixeira et al., 2008, 2014a). In addition, acquiring T0 as residue in the radiation balance gives mutual compensation, reducing possible errors in this model input parameter, and as in the upward and downward longwave fluxes, they are self canceling. Moreover, a correction factor is applied to ET/ET0 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why Is It Morally Permissible To Turn The Runaway Trolley To begin with, the Trolley case is an experiment where you are put into a situation where you are on a runaway trolley where the breaks do not work and you are headed for five people and you can either hit the five people, killing them or save them by turning the trolley hitting one person and killing him. There is another scenario called the Footbridge case where you are in the same situation but in order to save the five people you have to push a fat man off a bridge stopping the trolley. This is very interesting experiment that questions human ethics and morality. It makes you think whether or not it is morally permissible to turn the trolley. I argue that there is an important moral difference between the Trolley case and the Footbridge case because there is a difference between letting someone die to save people and killing someone to save people. ... But before you strike out to hunt down any manure, it would be a good idea to actually know what you are looking for, wouldn t it? There are many types of mature out there in that big old world. There is the pure manure, you know, the manure that is just manure and nothing else. There is also the not so pure manure, which is the manure that has the animal s bedding that supplied the manure. While either type of manure will do a garden good, the best type is the one with the bedding mixed into it because it will contain more of the necessary nutrients and soil amendments that, when added to the garden spot, will be beneficial. Unfortunately, the manure that has bedding in it is not the manure that is sold in bags at stores most of the time. This type of manure will have to come directly from the source. So this is where the hunting of the elusive manure for your garden will actually begin. A good place to start looking for home grown manure is the local feed store. The customers that feed stores have are usually the same ones who will have the manure you are looking for. Feed store customers are usually those folks who raise cattle, horses, dogs, hogs, sheep, chickens, goats and other animals. All of these animals produce manure and quite often the people who raise these animals will have pens that the animals are kept in, thus leading to manure that has to go somewhere. Usually the animal owners will gladly part with this manure, but you may have to be willing and ready to collect it yourself. That means bring a shovel and dig in. Other places that can often help with the manure hunt are veterinarian clinics that specialize in large animals, police departments that have mounted officers, colleges and universities that have veterinary programs or agriculture programs and even pet stores may be able to help. It is mentioned that connection to real meaning can make or break learning (Reiser and Dempsey, p. 58). I completely agree that teaching skills in isolation or without any real connection can result in temporary memorization, but no long term retention or the ability to transfer that knowledge to new situations. I appreciate the authors pointing out that to maximize the likelihood of meaningful learning occurring, students need to ... work on problems that a) mean something to them personally and b) are rich and complex enough to invoke real expertise (Reiser and Dempsey, p. 58). If students are shown that the knowledge is relevant and needed in real world situations, they are more likely to internalize the information for long term use. This is an area that I need to make sure is addressed in my instruction going forward. A I agreed with Reiser and Dempsey (p 352) when they discussed that everyone in a group learns information in different ways. While this statement in the text was referring to assistive technologies, I believe it is true of any learner. Globalisation, as proposed by Al Rodhan and Stoudmann (2006), can be defined as follows: Globalisation is a process that encompasses the causes, course, and consequences of transnational and transcultural integration of human and non human activities (Al Rodhan Stoudmann, 2006) It is believed that technology is the driving force of globalisation, in turn, globalisation enables the remarkable rate of technological changes (Archibugi Iammarino, 2002). • 31. Literary Analysis Of Superman John Ondrasik s Superman, expresses the message of society expecting perfection and putting people on too high of a pedestal. Using Superman as a symbol, Ondrasik unveils the hardship of living up to the expectations of society. Due to his unique abilities and powers, society expects nothings less than perfection from Superman. Having lost his family and home planet It is not easy to be [Superman]. Superman has to fight everything that society tells him to so that he can be himself. He is put on a high pedestal in society and is expected to perform in tough situations. Many people in the world look up to Superman due to his special powers. Society assumes Superman s life is easy and perfect since he has these powers which make a mockery of mere mortals but it is not. Superman wishes people did not think so much of him and tries hard to please everyone. Frustration builds up and Superman feels like killing himself (hence the kryptonite). Superman simply cannot make a mistake since he is always expected to succeed. Similarly, many people in our society are put on high pedestals. Even students like ourselves, are expected to receive straight A s and never score inadequate on a test. Eventually, when these students receive a mediocre grade, they are ashamed of themselves. These students are frightened to inform their parents since their expectations are so high. Athletes are also put under tremendous pressure to perform in big games. Failing is simply not an option. If one fails to succeed, the loss will follow them around for the rest of their lives. A stamp of failure will revolve around their name. Similarly, Superman feels like he is put on a high pedestal. Society does not let Superman cry or dream since he is not a normal person. He is not expected to cry or dream . His duty is to protect Earth from deleterious villains and he does not have a choice to say no. Society needs to be less naive and understand that reaching perfection is not possibly. Like Superman, men in today s society are socialized to be strong, dependable, and emotionless. Men are required to repress their emotions and expected to live up to a ridiculous idea of what it is to be a man . Using Superman as a symbol is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are some ideas present in these writings that are not practical for a modern American leader to follow. Lao tzu writes that the best kind of leader is one that the people are hardly aware of; this would be nearly impossible for an American politician. The Master described in the Tao te Ching is honest, humble, compassionate, and reserved. I do not mean to suggest that a modern leader should be like neither Lao tzu nor Machiavelli, rather the opposite. I believe that a good leader should be like Lao tzu, Machiavelli, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and every other successful leader that came before him. The key to being a good leader is knowing when it is appropriate to think like Guatama Buddha, and when to use battle strategies similar to those of Alexander the Great. Ideal leaders do not debate over which of the great strategists from the past is best; they understand the individual strengths that made historical figures successful and know when to use each one. What Screwtape is saying is that, God wants people to experience pleasure, and that it is a demon s job to corrupt a person s sense of that pleasure. Surely if God created all pleasures, then all pleasures are good, and thus, sin cannot exist. However, each person possess free will, and with that free will, must choose a path that brings them to God. Therefore, without some temptations, free will would be rather pointless, as everyone would forcibly be in the grace of God. While that s a possibility, a much more likely reason is presented in the Screwtape Letters. Which is, once again, that demons corrupt that which God has already establish. Screwtape is constantly telling Wormwood how to use and abuse the free will which God has given humans, and even mentions at one point how easy it would be for God to just draw everyone to him, but how it would violate free will. So really, it is a combination of both free will and God punishing those who fall from his path and allow themselves to be controlled by demons. In conclusion, all pleasures were made by God. They were not intended to be sin, however, demons corrupted them into sin, to draw people into their domain. Humans, having free will, are freely influenced off the path to God into that sin, by demons. At Thermon, in northwestern Greece, a succession of buildings from the Last Bronze Age throughout the sixth century BCE show the evolution of the Doric temple from a hall shaped like a hairpin to a long rectangular building with a porch at either end and surrounded by columns. This eminent battle, as well as its catastrophic first day is referred to as a symbol of the extravagancy and unfortunate outcome of Britain s First World War. It was originally arranged to relieve the pressure on the French at Verdun. The immense count of casualties and deaths during this battle have totaled to a record of over 1.25 million dead on both sides. Both the Allies and Central Powers experienced great losses as a result of the poor decisions made on behalf of the higher commanders. The relation between the total casualties and ineffective strategies are clearly seen through the outcome of this battle; with a gain of only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 51. Christian Perspective On Expectancy Violations Theory Carter Almquist Communication Theory Professor McCormick December 2, 2014 Christian Perspective on Expectancy Violations Theory In this paper there will be a critical analysis of the Expectancy Violations Theory and views points of a Christian on that theory. Expectancy Violations Theory is best defined as a way to explain how someone reacts to unexpected behavior of their friends and peers and the many meanings that people bring to the violation of their personal space. According to communicationtheory.org, Expectancy violation is a communication theory which tries to explain the unexpected behaviors of human beings while interacting. The theory is based on the uncertainty reduction theory where the vagueness on the behaviors of the others is reduced through interaction (communicationtheory.org). It is another way to measure how happy others interact with one another. There are proxemics levels of space to measure this physically. The first is personal space which is 2 4 feet. The next is social distance which is 4 12 feet. The next is public distance which is 12 feet. The truth is that the way Christians should react is the way that Jesus Christ would react. Christians should be welcoming and not bound by the earthly ways of communicating. Psalms 1:1 6 says, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and ... • 52. Shakespeare s Sister Virginia Woolf in the chapter Shakespeare s Sister from A Room of One s Own states that women in the 19th and 20th century did not have the same privileges and opportunities that men got in their lifetime, thus not being able to explore their passions of writing and art, rather being the slave of any boy whose parents forced a ring upon her finger (694). She uses this to argue why women are seen as inferior to men and that if women had had the same freedoms to live life contrary to what society insists, they would be able to write like Shakespeare and have an equal playing field to men. One of Woolf s main points in her essay is that women did not get the same opportunities as men and were discouraged by society to write, act, and make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Woolf states: Because the mind of an artist, in order to achieve the prodigious effort of freeing whole and entire the work that is in him, must be incandescent, like Shakespeare s mind, (703). By this she means that men had the freedom to write, they did not have society discouraging them, or putting roadblocks in their way. Women could not think for themselves because society was constantly telling them what they should do and who they should marry, and encouraging them to be mothers, rather than leaders. Having to live up to society s expectations certainly did not let women have an incandescent mind. Woolf also states: The world did not say to her as it said to them, Write if you choose; it makes no difference to me. The world said with a guffaw, Write? What s the good of your writing (701). This lack of encouragement for women made it difficult for them to achieve their dreams and be able to showcase their talents to the world. This false notion of men being intellectually superior to women was a widely accepted idea in the 19th century. Woolf explains, there was an enormous body of masculine opinion to the effect that nothing could be expected of women intellectually (702). By this, one could infer that women were only seen for their beauty, and as wives. This objectification of women is seen in society today through media s portrayal of women, and through many cultural norms of women being expected to stay at home and ... • 53. Being There by Jerzy Kosinski Essay In his novel Being There, Jerzy Kosinski shows how present day culture has strayed away from the ideal society that Plato describes in his allegory of the cave. In his metaphor, Plato describes the different stages of life and education through the use of a cave. In the first level of the cave, Plato describes prisoners who are shackled and facing a blank wall. Behind them is a wall of fire with a partition that various objects are placed and manipulated by another group of people. These shadows are the only action that they ever see. They can only talk to the surrounding prisoners, and watch the puppet show on the wall in front of them. Naturally, the prisoners come to believe that the shadows on the wall in front of them are ... The only connection to the outside world is his TV that he watches constantly. He cannot read or write, and knows little about the world he lives in. Much like the prisoners in the cave, he is a prisoner in the house, only gaining knowledge from the shadows that moved within his TV. His lack of social skills becomes much more apparent once he leaves the house for the first time. He has no intended destination, and wanders the streets. Once he is hurt by the limousine, he is given an injection to ease his pain. As the doctor fills the needle, he wants to show fear, not because he has had this experience before, but because he visualized all the TV incidents in which he had seen injections being given (Kosinski 33). Just like the prisoners in the cave, he was trying to understand a reality based on pictures in order to react to the world around him. One thing that he has never experienced is any type of a sex life. He found himself in a room with EE, where she made a sexual advance towards him. He thought back to a situation on TV where he could imitate an actor in a similar scene. He remembers a close embrace and kissing, but unfortunately ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
