that allow Doctors to see inside the human body. There are not many downsides of MRI s, however
MRI s do not fit in the average waiting room by being circular tube like machines that take about 1
hour to produce a clear image of a patient s problem. MRI s are great when it comes to mental
disabilities but when it comes to broken bones, it is too time consuming to wait in the machine for an
hour to find out about a torn ligament or broken bone in a patient s body. A new vision will take away
the harmless effects of an MRI but also have it for every day needs in a doctor s office. X Ray Vision

Voltaire Exposes the Fallacy of Optimism in Candide Essay
Voltaire was the French author of the novella Candide, also known as Optimism (Durant and Durant
724). Famous as a playwright and essayist, Voltaire s Candide is the book where he tries to point out
the fallacy of Gottfried William von Leibniz s theory of Optimism. He uses satire, and techniques of
exaggeration to contrast highlight the evil and brutality of war and the world in general when men are
meekly accepting of their fate. Leibniz, a German philosopher and mathematician of Voltaire s time,
developed the idea that the world they were living in at that time was the best of all possible worlds.

Candide is the son of the Baron of Thunder ten tronckh s sister. Candide grows up in the Castle of
Westphalia and is taught by Dr. Pangloss, a man that Candide often looked to for insight and
understanding. One of Panglos many great beleifs is that all is for the best and that good can be found
in everything. Candide fell in love with a girl by the name of Lady Cunegonde who is described as
having extravagant beauty.
Candide is abruptly exiled from the castle when found kissing the Baron s daughter, Cunegonde.
Devastated by the separation from Cunegonde, his true love,
Candide sets out to different places in the hope of finding her and achieving total happiness. On his
journey, he faces a number of misfortunes, among them being tortured during army training, yet he
continues to believe that there is a cause and effect for everything. Candide is reunited with
Cunegonde, and regains a life of prosperity, but soon all is taken away, including his beloved
Cunegonde. He travels on, and years later he finds her again, but she is now fat and ugly. His wealth is
all gone and so is his love for the Baron s daughter. Throughout Candide, we see how accepting
situations and not trying to change or overcome obstacles can be damaging. Life is full of struggles,
but it would be nonproductive if people passively accepted whatever fate had in store for them,

Sarita Is A Lost Object
Sarita, in order to get rid of depression, has to name her lost object. The thing she is suffering for its
loss. Ironically, Sarita cannot name it and calls it this thing . She knows that she cannot call it love.
She believes that does not love Julio but actually hates him for being the reason of her pain. She tries
to find a meaning to her life and through her search for it she attempts to find a name for her
depressive object to get rid of it. She use letter writing, prayers to god and questioning her old
neighbor Fernando about peace of soul. Hence, through her journey to find meaning, she hopes to
identify her lost thing that drives her depression and emptiness. Sarita s mother Fela, establishes her
identity building by identifying to the fixed role assigned to her as a single mother in the patriarchal
society. She accepts the humiliation and disintegration that unwedded woman receives in the male

Instead of identifying the lost object that Sarita turns into depressive mood for, Sarita loses her whole
identity. She cannot name it love because it is not love as we know it. It is rather a sexual addiction, a
disease or even something that is not identified. Although autobiographical writing is always used as a
healing method to overcome the obstacles that the writer of it faces in dealing with his depression, yet,
Fornes does not follow this pattern in her play Sarita. The play s heroine uses autobiographical writing
to express her longing, frustration, self loath and hope for salvation but she fails to use it to articulate
and rewrite a new identity that confirms her

Also, there would be no satisfaction without it, which would make us miss out in all it had to offer. To
begin with my first reason, we can use these to prevent hemorrhoids. We use this invention to absorb
blood from our butts. This idea was made by the creator of toilet paper, Joseph Gayetty. We always put
a lot of pressure to get all the waste out; but when putting too much pressure can harm your body and
get blood stains on your pants. Absorbing the blood with toilet paper can prevent blood stains on rears,
but it s very painful and disgusting. Moving around can feel very uncomfortable, but at least it s good
that everyone s eyes will not be locked on your blood

It was conducted on 14 females and 14 males. A total of 28 participants. The procedure was then to
show the participants a video on YouTube of a man holding up pieces of paper with different words on
them. The man would keep changing the pieces of paper and on most of the pieces of paper there were
exclamation marks on them. The Aim of the video was to count how many exclamation marks were
on the pieces of paper. Participants had to focus on counting the exclamation marks throughout the
video. Whilst different objects were moving or appearing in background.There were three different
ages that participated in the experiment with 16 of them being 18, 11 being 17 and 1 being 16. These
participants were all given the same questions and watched the same video. After the participants
watched the video they were all given a questionnaire to fill out. They were asked multiple questions
about their age and gender. They were then asked how many exclamation marks they saw followed by
if they saw any objects change while watching the video. And if so what objects were they. They were
also asked if they saw the clock moving backwards in the video. In this experiment there were no
ethical concerns that needed consideration.
Figure one shows 15 out of the 28 go the right answer to how many exclamation marks there was. 6 of

readers because of lack of great detail and vaguefulness experience. These topics should not entitle the
novel as bad and it should be read for the symbolism and meaningful
