3. BLOG
We create blogs for every department and the professors of the
department post all study materials under different pages
dedicated under different subject headings.
It is based on the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course)
principle.
Not only our college students but anyone from around the world
can access it free of cost.
4. E-MAIL
We send study materials to every student to their e-mail Id as well as
to their WhatsApp messaging service, on completion of every unit in
the classroom.
These study materials are mostly in the form of texts prepared by the
concerned professor. In addition to that, relevant materials in the
form of video and audio files are also sent.
This is in addition to the classroom lectures and deliberations.
Students can have re-run of the lectures at their place and time of
convenience any number of times.
5. WHATSAPP
WhatsApp is effectively used with the formation of student
groups on WhatsApp by every professor.
Here free exchange of questions and answers, doubts and
clarifications, resolution of problems etc with the professor as
mentor and with peers is made easy.
It facilitates multiple perspective learning.
6. PPT ON LINE
Every professor has a Slide Share account and
post all their PPT presentations for students
access anytime from anywhere.
7. LEARNING WITH SOCIAL MEDIA
Since social media like WhatsApp and Facebook attract
the present-day youth, we have taken this initiative to
make learning easier and interesting through them.
We also create department wise Facebook Groups. The
professors and students as members exchange study
materials, ideas, solutions to problems etc. These
exchanges are in the form of text, ppts, audio and video
files. They also get clarifications from the concerned
professors.
9. OTHER RESOURCES ON THE NET
Through mail, and social media constantly updated ppts, audio and
video files are uploaded by the staff.
Further, there are so many free online resources on Google and
YouTube, which are also shared by the staff on these groups. For
example, there is a YouTube channel by name "Khan Academy"
which offers free tutorial videos on almost all subjects on all topics.
10. FREQUENT ASSESSMENT
We in our college give more importance to frequent
internal assessments with seminars, assignments and
exams. This helps improve the student learning
process.
11. OTHER BENEFICIARIES
Since the university allows, in general, 65% attendance with
condonation to write exams. Those students who have
missed out the regular classes can cope up with these kind
of resources and technology utilization, which provide
unlimited scope for learning. This helps even students with
poor attendance to perform well.
12. THE RESULT
The Result is Remarkable. There is a clear increase in the
students' interest, understanding of the subject and their
performance in exams with attainment of higher grades.
Pass Percentage and Rank Achievers have increased
because of this free, flexible, easily accessible, effective,
interesting and innovative teaching method.
13. MAKE TEACHING & LEARNING INTERESTING
The routine classroom lectures alone are not enough in the
present-day competitive environment.
BMW method is one of the best ways to implement “ICT
Enabled Teaching & Learning.” This method can be
followed by any institution to make teaching more
interesting with the use of ICT Tools in tune with the
changing times.
