Inner City Paint Case
Industry Eight Small/Medium Entrepreneurial Ventures Inner City Paint Corporation Donald F.
Kuratko and Norman]. Gierlasinski (Revised) HISTORY Stanley Walsh began Inner City Paint
Corporation in a run down warehouse, which he rented, on the fringe of Chicago s downtown business
area. The company is still 10cated at its original site. Inner City is a small company that manufactures
wall paint. It does not compete with giants such as Glidden and DuPont. There are small paint
manufacturers in Chicago that supply the immediate area. The proliferation of paint manufacturers is
due to the fact that the weight of the product (52 12 pounds per 5 gallon container) makes the cost of
shipping great distances prohibitive. Inner City s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Color overruns are tapped off into 2 gallon containers. Inventory records are not kept. The warehouse
manager keeps a mental count of what is in stock. He documents (on a lined yellow pad) what has
been shipped for the day and to whom. That list is given to the billing clerk at the end of each day. The
cost of the materials to produce flat white paint is $2.40 per gallon. The cost per gallon for colors is
approximately 40% 50% higher. The 5 gallon covered plastic pails cost Inner City $1.72 each. The 55
gallon drums (with lids) are $8.35 each. (see Exhibit 1). Selling price varies with the quantity
purchased. To the average customer, flat white sells at $27.45 for 5 gallons and $182.75 for 55
gallons. Colors vary in selling price because of the variety in pigment cost and quantity ordered.
Customers purchase on credit and usually pay their invoices in 30 to 60 days. Inner City telephones
the customer after 60 days of nonpayment and inquires when payment will be made.
MANAGEMENT The President and majority stockholder is Stanley Walsh. He began his career as a
house painter and advanced to become a painter for a large decorating company. Walsh painted mostly
walls in large commercial buildings and hospitals. Eventually, he came to believe that he could
produce a paint that was less expensive and of higher quality than what was being used. A keen desire
to open his own business resulted in the creation of Inner City Paint Corporation.

Hamlet Monologue Essay
When I was initially killed, sure, I was angry. Pissed really, but I wasn t as surprised as a victim of a
murderous extremist couple should have been. Honestly, I was expecting the end of me to of been
more dramatic or even gruesome, so I m quite disappointed on how things turned out.
This probably sounds strange coming from a recently slaughtered college student as I should probably
be wailing pitiful stanzas or quoting Hamlet, but I m awful at making poems and even worse at
remembering what Hamlet was even about. Poet or not, it still doesn t change that my death isn t all
too surprising.

Watching Coby and Joe narrowly escape Ms Chen s attack in her glorious pink assemble of bunny

Diversity Reflection
The implications and understandings developed in class were a gateway in applying it to real world
work. Being given the opportunity to volunteer at The Continuum, I was able to understand the
meaning of disability in the lives of others. I saw firsthand how access, knowledge, and care can
transform a person s daily life in all aspects. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture
and care, family issues, and many others, I was able to transform my perspective and practice what I
am currently learning in the classroom. The Continuum provides a ReGenerations Adult Day Club for
individuals who may deal with Alzheimer s disease, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke
Recovery, Parkinson s disease, and M.S. . This program is fundamental in providing an array of
different care, and I found it to be beneficial for more than just their members. Through my 15 hours
of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person s disability can be managed
and addressed using a variety of techniques and methods, in caring for individuals.
My first day volunteering had me nervous, but with an excited anticipation of being able to help
others, while learning. I immediately assessed the location for how they incorporated accessibility in
their framework, in regard to, the layout, doors, and general environment. It is interesting how once
you are aware of something, it easily becomes incorporated in simple daily life. I was given a brief
reading and quiz so that I

Who Is Andrew Carnegie A Captain Of Industry
The Gilden Age is a age in time when inventions and technology start to rise in the country of the
United states. Gilden Age is a time when the U.S. had a rise in population and the economy grew very
quickly because of the rise in jobs in the United States. Many factors of the industrial revolution bring
it about in the nineteenth century. It creates many jobs and a great amount of population growth
because of this new factory jobs. The people from the country side start coming to the bigger cities
and working in factories instead of working off the land. Now things are starting to be made from the
factories instead of them being made from the country side. Also the economy starts to grow very

Andrew Carnegie is known for being a Captain of Industry who served their country greatly. Carnegie
got this title since he ended up one of the richest men on the planet. One motivation behind why
Carnegie is viewed as a Captain of Industry is on the grounds that he helped deliver steel in a more
proficient manner. Another motivation behind why Carnegie is a Captain of Industry is on account of
without him we would not have libraries that are interested in each race, culture, and religion.
Carnegie is likewise viewed as a Captain of Industry in light of the fact that despite the fact that he
gave all his cash away at last, Carnegie was considered as one of the most powerful person in the
United States. Despite the fact that Carnegie is known for being a Captain of Industry, he is also
known for being a Robber Baron. Carnegie is a viewed as a Robber Baron since he had his specialists
work in his factories which have poor and dangerous working conditions. Carnegie is additionally a
Robber Baron in the fact that as he succeeded and moved toward becoming the most richest men in
the world. The last thing behind why Carnegie is a Robber Baron is because of when his specialists
got up from working for essentially no compensation and went on strike which he chose to have one
of his head representatives stop the strike to get Carnegie laborers to work for him once more. To
finish up Carnegie changed the world with his innovation of steel and he changed history due to his

year, the red carpet was filled with the latest bold trends, baby bumps, and major hair changes. Once
all the stars entered the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, Taylor Swift started off the event
with a wild performance of songs from her latest album 1989. Later, she won Album of the Year, and
Best Pop Vocal Album for the album. Lady Gaga performed a tribute to David Bowie. Adele
performed a song from her recently released album, and was faced with some technical difficulties
that threw off the singer during her performance. Ed Sheeran, currently on hiatus after completing a

Examples Of Tension In Lamb To The Slaughter
Lamb to the Slaughter, by Roald Dahl, is a classic tale of suspense, tension and dramatic irony. In the
novel, on page 2, it says, This is going to be a big shock to you, I m afraid, he said. But I ve thought
about it a good deal, and I ve decided that the only thing to do is to tell you immediately. And he told
her. It didn t take long, four or five minutes at most, and she sat still through it all, watching him with
puzzled horror. This quote is a good example of how the novel builds suspense and tension because
the readers do not know what the character, Patrick, told his wife, Mary. Before this scene, Patrick was
acting different, like something was wrong. The news he gives his wife upsets her so much that she
murders him with a leg of lamb. The author leaving us barely any knowledge of why Mary killed
Patrick adds a lot of suspense and tension for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These differences either added or took away from the story. One way that they are different is that the
dialogue was different. A big and important line from the story is when one police officer says that the
murder weapon is probably right under their noses. This adds a lot of suspense and is a form of
dramatic irony because they were eating the lamb which actually was the weapon. In the film, the
policeman didn t include this line in his dialogue which took away from the movie, but added to the
story. Another way the film and the novel are different is that Mary went through flashbacks in the
movie but not the story. This again took away from the movie because the director made the film out
of chronological order. In this case the reader does not get to to see Mary s expressions or how she
feels which makes the movie less suspenseful and less tense. The director might have made these
changes because the reader already knew what was going to happen, so they change the film around
so it still shows suspense and

Garner Down Syndrome
Kawanda Garner Down syndrome
Down syndrome is a condition in which a person has an extra chromosome. Chromosomes are small
packages of genes in the body that determine how a baby s body forms during pregnancy and how the
baby s body functions as it grows in the womb and after birth. (CDC, 2014) John Langon Down first
described Down s syndrome or Trisomy 21 in 1866. Trisomy 21 is caused by a combination of birth
defects when there is a nondisjunction or an error in cell division during meiosis, resulting in a
trisomy of chromosome 21. (Porth, 2011, p. 119) While the cause in unknown, evidence from
cytogenetic and epidemiologic studies supports the concept of multiple causality. (Perry, 2010, p.

(Chang Kelly, 2007) According to the article published by Salimbene, (2000), children are highly
valued and welcomed in most Bosnian families. Culturally, Bosnian s hold Physician s to a higher
standard than nurses. They may request to hear a diagnoses or treatment options from the physician
rather than a nurse. Teaching may become difficult if a relationship is not formed. The nurse should
introduce themselves and state that the doctor has asked him/her to perform which ever test or
procedure it is that is needed. The purpose of the upcoming testing should be explained thoroughly
without going into the specific details about the procedure. (Salimbene, 2000) Bosnians prefer herbal
or spiritual approaches to health care over western health care. Language barriers may become an
issue as well so an interpreter should be utilized as needed to ensure information is passed along
appropriately. It is critical to assess each patient individually and not make cultural assumptions about
a patient s beliefs or health practices. (Chang Kelly, 2007). Many factors affect this process of parental
adaptation, for example, the nature and severity of the child s conditions, preexisting family
functioning level, cultural background, income level, the availability of social support, and the attitude
of healthcare providers, especially at the time of diagnosis. (Choi, Lee Yoo, 2011, p. 113) Providing a

opportunity to buy an established line of gourmet (high quality/high priced) frozen dinners had arisen.
Because there were other interested buyers, a decision had to be made within three or four weeks. This
decision depended on judgments about the future prospects of the gourmet frozen dinner market and
whether Barkley could achieve a competitive advantage. The marketing research group was asked to

Its largest product areas were canned tomato products, frozen orange juice, cake mixes, and yogurt.
Barkley was known to have strengths in operations (product preparation), distribution (obtaining
distribution and managing the shelves), and advertising. Their brands typically held a solid second
place position in the supermarket. There was no effort at umbrella brand identification, so each
product area was carried by its own brand. Joyce Stevenson had previously been in strategic planning,
and reviewed the type of information and analysis that would be required to support a strategic
decision like this one. She wrote down the following four sets of questions to guide the thinking of the
research group: 1. Market analysis ■ What are the size, current growth rate, and projected growth rate
of the industry and its relevant subsets (such as ethnic dinners) for the next five and ten years? ■ What
are the important industry trends? ■ What are the emerging production technologies? ■ What are the
distribution trends? ■ What are current and future success factors (a competitive skill or asset needed
to compete successfully)? 2. Environmental analysis ■ What demographic, cultural, economic, or
governmental trends or events could create strategic threats or opportunities? ■ What major
environmental scenarios (plausible stories about the future) can be conceived? 3. Customer analysis ■
What are the major segments? ■ What are their motivations and unmet

Creon Character Analysis
Throughout the story of Antigone, written by Sophocles, the minor characters play different
significant roles during the play. They are able to influence many of the major characters by their
different actions. Without the use of minor characters, many of the important decisions made by major
characters would not have been made during the play. There are many characters who were able to
influence the king, Creon. Specifically, the minor character, Leader, plays a major role in the character
development of Creon, from the beginning to the end of the play. Leader uses his actions, and unique
word choices to influence the decisions that Creon will make throughout the play.
During the beginning of the book, leader s effect on the king, Creon, ... Show more content on

At this point, Creon completely relies on the counsel and actions of Leader, and he no longer tries to
come to conclusions of his own, rather Leader advises him of what he should do, and Creon complies
with every word, with no doubts in his mind. On page 48, Leader asked, These girls? You have
sentenced them both? / Creon: No, you are right, I will not kill the one whose hands are clean. Creon
admits that Leader was the one who was right, and does as he says. He does not question Leader s
opinion, instead blatantly says that he is right, and moves on from the topic at hand. Following this, on
page 54, Creon inquires of Leader, What should I do? , Leader responds, Go quickly: free Antigone
from her vault, And build a tomb for the body of Polyneices. Not only does Creon do exactly what
Leader says, but he was the one to initiate the conversation. Creon came to Leader to ask him for his
guidance, rather than leader being the first to go to the king and offer his advice. Near the end of the
book, on page 73, Leader has all but taken over the kingdom. He is the only one who offers insight to
Creon, and the only one who Creon will listen to. He told Creon, You must go yourself, you cannot
leave it to others.

Nihilism In Yevgeny Vasilievich Bazarov s Fathers And Sons
In the novel, Fathers and Sons , the character Yevgeny Vasilievich Bazarov is perceived to be a strong
headed, and intelligent Nihilist who is not afraid to express his beliefs on anyone that dares to question
and challenge him about it. He is first introduced in the story by Arkady as a great friend and gives a
nice wrap in the first few chapters of the story; giving his father and himself the title of a doctor, who
had a special capacity for winning the confidence of lower class people and indeed treated them
casually (15). But the story changes him quite a bit when they reveal what he is, Nihilist, who
recognizes, nor respects nothing and regards everything from (a) critical point of view (17). Due to
this given trait of nihilism, and the way he carries his opinions out to others, I believe the novel plays
more against Bazarov rather than for him. Ever since the introduction of him being a Nihilist, Bazarov
has been recognized in the story as rude, judgemental, aggressive and hypocritical towards the
majority of the characters in the book. His beliefs have also caused him to break bonds, and turned a
friendship sour with Arkady. An example of this bond breaking moment could be his moments with
Pavel Petrovitch Kirsanov: despite not even having a type of friendly relationship or any to begin
with, Bazarov just creates tension between him and Pavel, as he demonstrates his views to Pavel and
Nikolai. Throughout the Bazarov s discusses in chapter 6, he

Some would say that there is music all around, in commercials, in movies, in tv shows, even in
grocery stores. There are many ways to listen to music, various streaming apps such as Spotify,

before that someone has founded their favorite song in a commercial or in a bizarre place that
surrounds many human lives. Although a group of the population does not agree with this tactic of

Embryonic Stem Cell is when you have to destroy the egg inside, thus rendering that egg to become a

Affects Of Weather On Deer Hunting
Effects of Weather on Deer Hunting Every year the fall brings in one of the biggest sports, hunting.
According to David Crook in his article How big is the Hunting Economy, there are about 13.7 million
people or approximately six percent of the United States population that consider themselves to be
hunters. When all of these people get up the morning of opening day there is one thing that affects the
way that they hunt. Every avid hunter knows that they have to base their hunting style off of the
weather. The different factors of the weather such as the temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure,
and precipitation changes the way the deer move and can either make or break a deer hunter s season.
The movement of a whitetail deer changes according to the weather. There are several different factors
to consider when talking about the weather, but the one of the leading factors is the temperature. Some
people believe that the colder it is outside, the better the hunting becomes. This is true until it gets so
cold that the deer have to bed down and not move to stay warm. When the temperature begins to drop
down to about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, the deer begin scrambling for food to prepare for winter and the
rut. The rut is a deer s mating season. This has the deer at a constant movement and makes for prime
hunting. When the temperature begins to change, the amount of movement of the deer begins to
change also. If the temperature rises then the amount of a deer s movement

Technology Is Bad
Technology: the Good, Bad, and the Ugly
In our world, technology has drastically changed throughout the past decades. Many influential
advances have occurred for the better of society: prosthetic limbs, robotic surgery, precision
agriculture tools, and smartphones, to name a few. We have created the technology to control robots,
to do tasks anywhere from making candy to performing a kidney transplant. It seems that
incorporating technology into our lives will benefit all. However, these incredible advancements come
with a downside. The revolution of technology can advance the workforce, but will drastically change
human behaviors and abilities. These behaviors/abilities include, but aren t limited to, memory,
interaction with other people, and sleep quality.
In the workforce, robots and technological advances can do a significantly larger amount of tasks that
humans could never dream of doing. Robots also have the ability to be more efficient in their specific
job than humans are. Kevin Kelly, founding executive editor of Wired magazine, wrote in one of his
articles that, Humans can weave cotton cloth with great effort, but automated looms make perfect
cloth, by the mile, for a few cents. The only reason to buy handmade cloth today is because you want
the imperfections humans introduce. We no longer value irregularities while traveling 70 miles per
hour, though so the fewer humans who touch our car as it is being made, the better. (306) He proves in

Penny Synthesis Essay
The production of the one cent piece has long been a topic of controversy. Some argue for the penny
saying that the penny has been a part of U.S. history for over 200 years; while those on the opposing
side argue that eliminating the penny could save retail businesses time and therefore money by saving
the time wasted counting pennies at the register. Some argue that we should phase out pennies because
the value is so little that no one uses them; In fact, the face value of the penny is so little that it costs
more to produce it. Because of the downsides to the continued production of the penny, we ought to
phase the penny out. One reason pennies should be eliminated is that they waste the time of retail
businesses. According to Dr. Robert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of currency is to be exchanged for goods and/or services. However if the value of the

some experts such as Harvard professor N. Gregory Mankiw want to do the same in the entire United

significant adverse effects as it seems to work well on military bases. In addition to United State

This Is What It Means To Say Phoenix Arizona Analysis
In Sherman Alexie s short story, This Is What It Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona we follow Victor and
Thomas along to their journey of change and revelation. Shortly after being laid off his job, Victor
gets the fatal news that his father, has died. Since Victor had been abandoned by his father at a young
age his character is negative, frustrated, angry, and confused. Having found out both things within the
same week made his outlook on life very pessimistic. Thomas, on the other hand, is the storyteller on
the reservation that nobody wants to listen to. He is lonely, positive, but has lived a sad life. After their
journey together, Victor finds out more about his dad s lifestyle and personality and builds a bond with
Thomas that would have never happened without the journey to Arizona. He goes from being
confused and angry, to happy and at peace with himself and his father. Thomas also experiences the
same emotions by the end of the journey. While they technically are not friends towards the end of the
story, they will be forever bonded by this journey and he helped his friendship with Victor get a little
deeper. Thanks to Thomas, Victor changes his perception of his dad and while doing so, helped
himself get close to someone from back at home. Author Sherman Alexie uses the journey to Arizona

The Natural Disasters Of San Francisco
There are so many natural disasters throughout the world that happen every day; some worse than
others. The 1906 San Francisco earthquake would be one of the worse disasters. Many people were
killed and wounded on that day. Although the earthquake lasted less than a minute, it still caused the
worst natural disaster in the country s history. The California earthquake is known to be one of the
most remarkable earthquakes of all time.
San Francisco is known to be the Paris of America . It was very popular in industry and culture at the
time. San Francisco had about 410,000 locals and kept gaining more and more rapidly. The day before
the devastating and terrifying event, everyone was going on throughout the day like they normally
would. No one was expecting what was about to happen that next morning.
The next morning at 5:12 a.m., on April 18, 1906 an enormous earthquake shook San Francisco. It
was an estimate of 7.8 8.3 on the Richter scale. Although only lasting about 40 60 seconds, it
destroyed many homes and businesses and killed numerous people. Many were left homeless, without
a place to go. Out of the 410,000 people who lived in San Francisco, about 300,000 people were
without a home and around 3,000 people lost their lives throughout the state of California. The
earthquake was devastating. The survivors had to sleep in tents and wait in long lines for food.
The earthquake also started fires that burned for three days. Within just a few hours 52 fires had
started.

Traumatic Brain Injury Analysis
Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) has gained considerable notice in recent years since the Global
War on Terrorism. High percentages of service members surviving combat related injuries are now
battling the long lasting effects and associated medical morbidities of brain trauma. Nearly 1.6 million
service members deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)
through June 30, 2007 (Defense Manpower Data Center ). While percentages of those deployed
sustaining mTBI are only approximations and may underestimate prevalence of injury and underscore
the subsequent impact of postconcussive symptoms, as many as 12 35% of those with exposure to
combat are estimated to have experienced an mTBI (Schneiderman, Braver, Kang, 2008 ; Hoge, et al.,

Native Americans; A Prolonged Misrepresentation When hearing the words, African Americans,
Hispanics, or Caucasians, the majority of people in America will generally categorize the traits of
these nationalities based upon their roles displayed in the media, books, movies, or first hand
experience. The actions being made by their associations is stereotyping; defined in the Merriam
Webster dictionary as, [believing] unfairly that all people or things with a particular characteristic are
the same, revealing that even unknowingly, people are allowing nationalities to fall under a list of
behavioral, cultural, and moral traits. Even in the case of Native Americans, our American culture
creates stereotypes based upon what we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On April 22,2015, about a dozen Native American actors walked off the set of Adam Sandlers movie.
Brandon Griggs, Senior producer of CNN Digital, describes that the actors found the satirical Western
s script as insulting to Native Americans and women . Sandler planned to use sayings such as Beavers
Breath and No Bra, which the actors brought attention to these slurs, but were quickly replied by
producers that, If you guys are so sensitive, you should leave (Griggs). The media is obviously
insensitive to their negative connotations towards their culture. Hill, a Choctaw actor explained that,
We understand that this is a comedy. We understand this is humor, but we won t tolerate the disrespect
(Griggs). The movie portrayed inaccurate housing such as the teepees, unrealistic costuming, and
white actors playing the roles of Native Americans (Griggs). Some may argue that the film isn t for
educational or realistic purposes, therefore the movie shouldn t be criticized for such reasons, yet the
disrespect is inevitable. These stereotypes heavily affect our Natives and encourage to keep them as
people of the past. The Indigenous society takes great pride in their culture, but the misrepresentation

The Symbolity Of Paul Revere s Ride
The night of Lexington and Concord was significant to many, known as the start to the American
Revolution. It was a symbol of truth and the changing future to the Patriots. The British considered it
to demand their position in power over colonists and neutralists had to choose a side. This was the
night Paul Revere and other patriots rode to the towns, echoing their bold senses to the people and
warning about the British, described in Paul Revere s Ride poem and Revere s letter to Jeremy
Belknap. To the superiority of that night, people argue that Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poem is
one of the most convincing, descriptive primary source found about that night. However, others
question the dependability of Paul Revere s Ride in terms of exceeding differences between the poem
and Revere s letter, including Longfellow s purpose in duty. Despite the importance of Paul Revere s
Ride , Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poem is not considered a reliable source of historical
information.
One of the most acknowledged ideas arguing the validity of Paul Revere s Ride are the structural
differences between the two sources, including the focused aspects of each writing. Longfellow s
poem: Paul Revere s Ride focuses on Revere s strength and determination one sided. For example, the
poem states how, Then, impetuous, stamped the earth, And turned and tightened his saddle‐girth; But
mostly he watched with eager search The belfry‐tower of the Old North Church... The description

Zipline Creative Writing
My feet thumped on the wooden stairs as I climbed up the fifth flight. I wondered if my partner was
getting nervous like me. I leaned over the edge and saw the world swirling below me like a whirlpool.
The trees swayed in the lite summer breeze, and their leaves rattled like maracas. I looked over to my
friend from camp. ´´Are you nervous? We are really high up.´´
´´A little bit,´´ She replied. ´´It really isn t that bad.´´ That didn t make me feel any better. My stomach
felt like a swarm of bees, and I felt like I was going to be sick. If only she had known that the high
ropes course was a huge challenge and that it was a series of wobbly ropes and wood planks. The line
started to move again and I climbed up the last flight of stairs.
Suddenly, I remembered last year when I was first trying the zipline, I was standing in this exact spot
thinking the exact same things. I felt very uneasy about doing the zipline, but once ... Show more

determined to finish. I glanced ahead, Only 2 more broken planks to go!
When I got to the end I hugged the tree platform just like my friend.
´´Way to go! That was really nerve wrecking,´´ My friend congratulated me.
´´Yeah,´´ I replied. ´´You did great too.´´
´´Great Job girls,´´ The instructor said.
I can t believe I did it. I finished the first part of the high ropes course. My heart leaped with joy and I
couldn t wait to tell my mom and dad what I had accomplished when I got home. I realized that day

Pigeon Forge My favorite place to visit is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. There are so many fun and
exciting places to visit and beautiful sites to see. Pigeon Forge is famous for the Dollywood

soaring eagle or they can brave the rapids on a water raft. If death defying rides are too much to
handle, then visit one of the many comedy shows the town has to offer. The comedy shows are full of

The Aca Requirements For Insurers
The ACA requirements for insurers to cover mammogram
Policy background Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the US. About
40,000 women die from breast cancer each year, making it the second leading cause of cancer death
among women (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, n.d.). The Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act (2010) requires insurers to provide coverage for and shall not impose any cost
sharing requirements for preventive services which are in the current recommendation of the United
States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). Nevertheless, the ACA makes an exception for
breast cancer screening by stating that the USPSTF s recommendation regarding mammogram shall be
considered the most current other than those issued in or around November 2009 . By using this
legislative tool, the federal government mandates health insurers to provide coverage for annual or
biennial mammograms in women aged 40 and older (US Preventive Services Task Force, 2013).
While the ACA regulates the age limit, frequency, and cost sharing rule of mammogram at federal
level, preceding state policies regarding reimbursement for breast cancer screening dates back to the
1980s. Before the implementation of the ACA, the District of Columbia and all states except Utah
required health insurance to cover mammogram. Laws vary slightly from state to state, but most of
them mandate coverage for biennial mammograms for women aged 40 to 49 and annual

England and France in these productions. The play King Henry V focuses on the the English King and
how he dealt with the war. It expresses ideas of King Henry that are empowering and strong willed.
He motivates his men using his high class position to enter the war and keep them full of hope and
confidence throughout the battles. In Saint Joan, a young peasant girl named Joan believes God has

She is born a peasant and does not have any power in her society. Joan believes she has heard the
voice of God telling her to lead an army of men to victory. Since she is of the lowest class status her
challenge is to convince the nobles and Dauphine that she is worthy to lead in battle. She states her
claim and gets a response of I suppose you think raising a siege is as easy as chasing cows in a
meadow. You think soldiering is anybody s job? (Saint Joan Act 1 n.pg). The nobles are making an
analogy to farm life because of Joan s class level. She has to somehow prove her worthiness because
she is seen as someone who is incapable due to her societal place. No one in her time of her status

Ap Euro Peasant Rebellion Comparision Essays
DBQ: Peasants revolts
From 1524 to 1526 peasant revolts were occurring throughout the German states. Many causes and
responses brewed out of these revolts. One cause is from religion issues (1,3,6) , Luther s idea of
equality. Another cause is the peasant gaining power (2,8,9). As a result of these causes came out
response, the most common response was riots and chaos (5,11,7). These revolts would end in
thousands of rebel deaths and others are also killed.
In the early 1500s religious reforms were constant throughout all of Germany, including the ideas of
Martin Luther. Martin Luther brought the idea of equality to the peasants (1,3,6) , which in term
started the revolts. In document 1 Leonhard van Eck states that the peasants were ... Show more

This document is written by peasants hence the encouragement for the revolt, although Lotzer might
be saying this so that we may be the leader of this revolt and he is a craftsman so this might get more
people to notice his craft, he then gains more money. Document 8 is the complete opposite perspective
of the peasants gaining power and the revolt. Lorenz Fries is a catholic archbishop and the revolts are
driven out of Luther s doctrines. He said that the peasants are troublesome and the revolt should be
stopped, but he most likely said this to get people to turn their backs on Lutheranism and accept
Catholicism. Although his report is a secret one so he probably wrote it secretly so that he would not
be killed or hurt by the peasant s rebellion. In document 9, Caspar Nutzel, a noble, says that the
peasants were blinded and they have gotten too strong. This document is also a response in that people
have allowed the revolts to happen and the peasants have gone too far. Though this document should
be approached with caution because he uses some absolute language in the regard to how the peasants
act, and Nutzel might be stating this to keep his job as town councilor.
The most common response to the revolts was chaos and rioting (5,11,7). In document 5, a
theologian/journalist states what happened at Weinsburg when the peasants arrived there.

Symbolism In The City Of Ember
Throughout a book, many authors use a symbol or object to help readers find the deeper meaning in a
story. Jeanne Duprau , the author of The City of Ember emphasizes darkness vs the light throughout
the whole book. The author does this because the symbols hidden in the story, has a huge impact and
role throughout it. In the story, the author uses both symbols light and darkness. The light represents
life and hope for another world, while the darkness symbolizes fear and death.
In the book, The City of Ember, the author uses the symbol light to show life and hope for another
world. Specifically, the text declares, She longed to have colored pencils for her pictures of the
imaginary city. She had a feeling it was a colorful place, though

Elizabethan Era Characteristics
Three best characteristics of a leader There are many people that could be considered and have been
chosen as good leaders for certain traits such as respect, reliability, responsibility, trustworthiness, and
being really good at what they do and how they present their thoughts. Jensen Ackles, a director, actor,
singer, Queen Elizabeth I, queen, reliable person, Abraham Lincoln, president and a very trustworthy
person. These three people show many great leader traits, but they have only one trait per person that
defines them best. Abraham Lincoln, a very well known president of the United States with many
traits, one being responsibility. Abraham had introduced the emancipation proclamation that had freed
all the rebellious states slaves in 1863. Definition of responsibility being The state or fact of having a
duty to deal with something or having control over someone. Lincoln had lots of duties to deal with, it
came with the job of presidency, but even before him being president he had all the duties and
responsibilities with his campaigns and speeches to be elected. He had also led the republicans to

Queen Elizabeth s reign had allowed many great people to come to England, such as Sir Francis

Women in Iran
1. Women s rights in Iran have for many years been a very controversial and heated topic. The way
women live and are viewed by men in Iran has changed in so many ways throughout the end of the
twentieth century leading into current day. Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was the last Shah of Iran
and throughout his attempt to westernize his country he was overthrown by the Iranian Revolution,
also known as the Islamic Revolution, on February 11th, 1979.[1] Religious rulers took over and
influenced the Sharia Law, which are decisions on how to live life by studying religious texts. Ever
since this change women have faced a struggle to survive in harsh conditions every day of their lives.
Inequality between Iranian men and women is a major ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows women to face discrimination in all walks of life, and which allows men the authority to
exercise their power without any fear of being held accountable for their actions. The Sharia or
Islamic law defines the roles of women which are that women are not equal to men when it comes to
inheritance, but men and women are equal before God when it comes to their religious duties and the
second is that women are placed under the protection and care of men. It says that men are not
superior to women and that in the beginning men did not come before women and visa versa and that
woman were not created for the purpose of man, but created in the unity of man.[11] After the
Revolution, the attitude toward women by men has been condescending.[12] Although the Hadith
states that women are morally defective , it must ignore the fact that the vast individuals jailed for
murder, rape, child abuse, etc. are men. The problem is that the laws have been derived from the
words of men and not the words of God in which were intended. The Qur an says O Mankind, keep
your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate (of same kind)
and from them twain has spread a multitude of men and women .[13] Women in Islamic culture had a
monopoly over the textile industry, mainly spinning and embroidery.[14] Muhammad said that women
s work in the household was extremely important and that Muslim women establish

Starbucks Canada Case Study
1. Data, information and flows
The notions of data, information as well as their flows are interconnected; however, many people use
them as synonyms. Nevertheless, there are significant differences that need to be addressed. Thus, data
is a raw piece of information, so to speak; it reflects a certain aspect of reality. A good example of data
is the table that shows, which smart phones are equipped with NFC and which are equipped with
Bluetooth LE. The importance of it lies in the fact that Apple iPhone 5 is not equipped with NFC and
that is mere a piece of data. Information is data that has been processed and given a certain meaning.
In other words, it engaged the data, but allows a person to make more sense of it. If one takes a look at
the example which was mentioned more, it is an important piece of information that Apple iPhone 5
does no support NFC: this means that a certain part of the Starbucks visitors will not be able to able to
use the mobile payment option that is based on this kind of technology. With this in mind, it become
obvious that Bluetooth LE is much more preferable. Speaking of flows, one should note that they
represent data and information in progress. For example, a flow of data should reflect the number of
customer served daily in Starbucks Canada. However, if this data is properly processed, it will result
in information flow, which might take a form of

The Coroner s Lunch
Crime detective mysteries have captivated readers for years. Throughout time, the stories have
evolved in many directions, developing many different variations and adaptations of the traditional
murder mystery stories that had been told before. With subgenres such as police procedural, thriller,
hard boiled, cozy, amateur detective, professional private detective, and forensic mysteries, there are
so many different ways that a murder mystery can be told. The book, The Coroner s Lunch, falls into
multiple subgenres: cozy, amateur, and forensic murder mysteries while also falling into the fantastical
and supernatural genre as well. Cozy detective mysteries start off in a small town or village that is
usually very idyllic in concept. The criminal event that takes place often skews the idyllic image of the
town or village and gives the reader a sense of seclusion as opposed to the former coziness about the
town or village (Scaggs). The Coroner s Lunch takes place in a small village in Laos called Vientiane
in the 1970s. The region was so sparsely populated and little to no professional workers were left in
Laos, due to the communist takeover of the government. The scarcity of people and professional

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is an independent federal agency provided with the
power to preserve the rights employees have to organize and to remedy violations if so called for. In
addition, the agency was tasked with the prevention of unfair labor practices committed by private
sector employers and unions. The National Industrial Recovery Act initiated the NLRB, which
protected joint bargaining rights for unions. President Franklin D. Roosevelt later established the

The board consists of five members, who act as a quasi judicial body that make decisions based upon
cases of unfair labor. The board is compromised of more than thirty regional offices that conduct
elections, investigate charges, and establish whether to dismiss, settle, or issue complaints. The
jurisdiction of the counsel s power is responsible for investigating and prosecuting claims that suggest
practices of unfair labor. The Counsel is also found to be independent of the Board but once the Board
has made a decision it becomes the General Counsel s duty to sustain the decisions of the Board, even
if the Counsel advocated towards the opposite position. The National Labor Relations Board focuses
on employees of the private sector and the postal service. Other than these two jurisdictions the board
has no authority over airline, agricultural, governmental, or railroad employees. To be able to process
charges, parties must first file against the employer or the union with a regional office who will then

  • 2. Inner City Paint Case Industry Eight Small/Medium Entrepreneurial Ventures Inner City Paint Corporation Donald F. Kuratko and Norman]. Gierlasinski (Revised) HISTORY Stanley Walsh began Inner City Paint Corporation in a run down warehouse, which he rented, on the fringe of Chicago s downtown business area. The company is still 10cated at its original site. Inner City is a small company that manufactures wall paint. It does not compete with giants such as Glidden and DuPont. There are small paint manufacturers in Chicago that supply the immediate area. The proliferation of paint manufacturers is due to the fact that the weight of the product (52 12 pounds per 5 gallon container) makes the cost of shipping great distances prohibitive. Inner City s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Color overruns are tapped off into 2 gallon containers. Inventory records are not kept. The warehouse manager keeps a mental count of what is in stock. He documents (on a lined yellow pad) what has been shipped for the day and to whom. That list is given to the billing clerk at the end of each day. The cost of the materials to produce flat white paint is $2.40 per gallon. The cost per gallon for colors is approximately 40% 50% higher. The 5 gallon covered plastic pails cost Inner City $1.72 each. The 55 gallon drums (with lids) are $8.35 each. (see Exhibit 1). Selling price varies with the quantity purchased. To the average customer, flat white sells at $27.45 for 5 gallons and $182.75 for 55 gallons. Colors vary in selling price because of the variety in pigment cost and quantity ordered. Customers purchase on credit and usually pay their invoices in 30 to 60 days. Inner City telephones the customer after 60 days of nonpayment and inquires when payment will be made. MANAGEMENT The President and majority stockholder is Stanley Walsh. He began his career as a house painter and advanced to become a painter for a large decorating company. Walsh painted mostly walls in large commercial buildings and hospitals. Eventually, he came to believe that he could produce a paint that was less expensive and of higher quality than what was being used. A keen desire to open his own business resulted in the creation of Inner City Paint Corporation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hamlet Monologue Essay When I was initially killed, sure, I was angry. Pissed really, but I wasn t as surprised as a victim of a murderous extremist couple should have been. Honestly, I was expecting the end of me to of been more dramatic or even gruesome, so I m quite disappointed on how things turned out. This probably sounds strange coming from a recently slaughtered college student as I should probably be wailing pitiful stanzas or quoting Hamlet, but I m awful at making poems and even worse at remembering what Hamlet was even about. Poet or not, it still doesn t change that my death isn t all too surprising. You see, I live, or lived in Blatrix Apartments, a residence notorious for its occupants and the criminal acts which followed them. From the old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let s get moving Wai Coby quickly scampered towards the exit. ↞↠ The following moments after seemed to remind me once again why I stayed in these apartments, even with the constant stench of marijuana and the chance of being murdered being relatively high. Watching Coby and Joe narrowly escape Ms Chen s attack in her glorious pink assemble of bunny slippers and nighty was definitely worth dying for. Not to mention the face of simultaneous disgust and disturbance when Coby got introduced to the Carlton s and their accompanying fishy manner and odour. Couldn t really blame him for puking, I gag just thinking about them. When they had talked to the landlord Dan, as usual, he was higher than the empire state building, leading to conversation filled with the odd combination of philosophy and But duude . After another rather dramatic chase scene with Gritt the local cat, they finally arrived to my murders. I feel like I should be more angry at them, but by this point I m over it. • 4. Diversity Reflection The implications and understandings developed in class were a gateway in applying it to real world work. Being given the opportunity to volunteer at The Continuum, I was able to understand the meaning of disability in the lives of others. I saw firsthand how access, knowledge, and care can transform a person s daily life in all aspects. With educative modules on assistive technology, culture and care, family issues, and many others, I was able to transform my perspective and practice what I am currently learning in the classroom. The Continuum provides a ReGenerations Adult Day Club for individuals who may deal with Alzheimer s disease, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke Recovery, Parkinson s disease, and M.S. . This program is fundamental in providing an array of different care, and I found it to be beneficial for more than just their members. Through my 15 hours of volunteer experience with The Continuum, I analyzed how a person s disability can be managed and addressed using a variety of techniques and methods, in caring for individuals. My first day volunteering had me nervous, but with an excited anticipation of being able to help others, while learning. I immediately assessed the location for how they incorporated accessibility in their framework, in regard to, the layout, doors, and general environment. It is interesting how once you are aware of something, it easily becomes incorporated in simple daily life. I was given a brief reading and quiz so that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Examples Of Tension In Lamb To The Slaughter Lamb to the Slaughter, by Roald Dahl, is a classic tale of suspense, tension and dramatic irony. In the novel, on page 2, it says, This is going to be a big shock to you, I m afraid, he said. But I ve thought about it a good deal, and I ve decided that the only thing to do is to tell you immediately. And he told her. It didn t take long, four or five minutes at most, and she sat still through it all, watching him with puzzled horror. This quote is a good example of how the novel builds suspense and tension because the readers do not know what the character, Patrick, told his wife, Mary. Before this scene, Patrick was acting different, like something was wrong. The news he gives his wife upsets her so much that she murders him with a leg of lamb. The author leaving us barely any knowledge of why Mary killed Patrick adds a lot of suspense and tension for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These differences either added or took away from the story. One way that they are different is that the dialogue was different. A big and important line from the story is when one police officer says that the murder weapon is probably right under their noses. This adds a lot of suspense and is a form of dramatic irony because they were eating the lamb which actually was the weapon. In the film, the policeman didn t include this line in his dialogue which took away from the movie, but added to the story. Another way the film and the novel are different is that Mary went through flashbacks in the movie but not the story. This again took away from the movie because the director made the film out of chronological order. In this case the reader does not get to to see Mary s expressions or how she feels which makes the movie less suspenseful and less tense. The director might have made these changes because the reader already knew what was going to happen, so they change the film around so it still shows suspense and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Garner Down Syndrome Kawanda Garner Down syndrome Down syndrome is a condition in which a person has an extra chromosome. Chromosomes are small packages of genes in the body that determine how a baby s body forms during pregnancy and how the baby s body functions as it grows in the womb and after birth. (CDC, 2014) John Langon Down first described Down s syndrome or Trisomy 21 in 1866. Trisomy 21 is caused by a combination of birth defects when there is a nondisjunction or an error in cell division during meiosis, resulting in a trisomy of chromosome 21. (Porth, 2011, p. 119) While the cause in unknown, evidence from cytogenetic and epidemiologic studies supports the concept of multiple causality. (Chang Kelly, 2007) According to the article published by Salimbene, (2000), children are highly valued and welcomed in most Bosnian families. Culturally, Bosnian s hold Physician s to a higher standard than nurses. They may request to hear a diagnoses or treatment options from the physician rather than a nurse. Teaching may become difficult if a relationship is not formed. The nurse should introduce themselves and state that the doctor has asked him/her to perform which ever test or procedure it is that is needed. The purpose of the upcoming testing should be explained thoroughly without going into the specific details about the procedure. (Salimbene, 2000) Bosnians prefer herbal or spiritual approaches to health care over western health care. Language barriers may become an issue as well so an interpreter should be utilized as needed to ensure information is passed along appropriately. It is critical to assess each patient individually and not make cultural assumptions about a patient s beliefs or health practices. (Chang Kelly, 2007). Many factors affect this process of parental adaptation, for example, the nature and severity of the child s conditions, preexisting family functioning level, cultural background, income level, the availability of social support, and the attitude of healthcare providers, especially at the time of diagnosis. An opportunity to buy an established line of gourmet (high quality/high priced) frozen dinners had arisen. Because there were other interested buyers, a decision had to be made within three or four weeks. Barkley was known to have strengths in operations (product preparation), distribution (obtaining distribution and managing the shelves), and advertising. Their brands typically held a solid second place position in the supermarket. There was no effort at umbrella brand identification, so each product area was carried by its own brand. Joyce Stevenson had previously been in strategic planning, and reviewed the type of information and analysis that would be required to support a strategic decision like this one. She wrote down the following four sets of questions to guide the thinking of the research group: 1. Market analysis ■ What are the size, current growth rate, and projected growth rate of the industry and its relevant subsets (such as ethnic dinners) for the next five and ten years? ■ What are the important industry trends? ■ What are the emerging production technologies? ■ What are the distribution trends? ■ What are current and future success factors (a competitive skill or asset needed to compete successfully)? 2. • 10. Creon Character Analysis Throughout the story of Antigone, written by Sophocles, the minor characters play different significant roles during the play. They are able to influence many of the major characters by their different actions. Without the use of minor characters, many of the important decisions made by major characters would not have been made during the play. There are many characters who were able to influence the king, Creon. Specifically, the minor character, Leader, plays a major role in the character development of Creon, from the beginning to the end of the play. Leader uses his actions, and unique word choices to influence the decisions that Creon will make throughout the play. During the beginning of the book, leader s effect on the king, Creon, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point, Creon completely relies on the counsel and actions of Leader, and he no longer tries to come to conclusions of his own, rather Leader advises him of what he should do, and Creon complies with every word, with no doubts in his mind. On page 48, Leader asked, These girls? You have sentenced them both? / Creon: No, you are right, I will not kill the one whose hands are clean. Creon admits that Leader was the one who was right, and does as he says. He does not question Leader s opinion, instead blatantly says that he is right, and moves on from the topic at hand. Following this, on page 54, Creon inquires of Leader, What should I do? , Leader responds, Go quickly: free Antigone from her vault, And build a tomb for the body of Polyneices. • 11. Nihilism In Yevgeny Vasilievich Bazarov s Fathers And Sons In the novel, Fathers and Sons , the character Yevgeny Vasilievich Bazarov is perceived to be a strong headed, and intelligent Nihilist who is not afraid to express his beliefs on anyone that dares to question and challenge him about it. He is first introduced in the story by Arkady as a great friend and gives a nice wrap in the first few chapters of the story; giving his father and himself the title of a doctor, who had a special capacity for winning the confidence of lower class people and indeed treated them casually (15). But the story changes him quite a bit when they reveal what he is, Nihilist, who recognizes, nor respects nothing and regards everything from (a) critical point of view (17). Due to this given trait of nihilism, and the way he carries his opinions out to others, I believe the novel plays more against Bazarov rather than for him. Ever since the introduction of him being a Nihilist, Bazarov has been recognized in the story as rude, judgemental, aggressive and hypocritical towards the majority of the characters in the book. His beliefs have also caused him to break bonds, and turned a friendship sour with Arkady. An example of this bond breaking moment could be his moments with Pavel Petrovitch Kirsanov: despite not even having a type of friendly relationship or any to begin with, Bazarov just creates tension between him and Pavel, as he demonstrates his views to Pavel and Nikolai. Throughout the Bazarov s discusses in chapter 6, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Affects Of Weather On Deer Hunting Effects of Weather on Deer Hunting Every year the fall brings in one of the biggest sports, hunting. According to David Crook in his article How big is the Hunting Economy, there are about 13.7 million people or approximately six percent of the United States population that consider themselves to be hunters. When all of these people get up the morning of opening day there is one thing that affects the way that they hunt. Every avid hunter knows that they have to base their hunting style off of the weather. The different factors of the weather such as the temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure, and precipitation changes the way the deer move and can either make or break a deer hunter s season. The movement of a whitetail deer changes according to the weather. There are several different factors to consider when talking about the weather, but the one of the leading factors is the temperature. Some people believe that the colder it is outside, the better the hunting becomes. This is true until it gets so cold that the deer have to bed down and not move to stay warm. When the temperature begins to drop down to about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, the deer begin scrambling for food to prepare for winter and the rut. The rut is a deer s mating season. This has the deer at a constant movement and makes for prime hunting. When the temperature begins to change, the amount of movement of the deer begins to change also. If the temperature rises then the amount of a deer s movement ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We have created the technology to control robots, to do tasks anywhere from making candy to performing a kidney transplant. It seems that incorporating technology into our lives will benefit all. These behaviors/abilities include, but aren t limited to, memory, interaction with other people, and sleep quality. In the workforce, robots and technological advances can do a significantly larger amount of tasks that humans could never dream of doing. It was a symbol of truth and the changing future to the Patriots. The British considered it to demand their position in power over colonists and neutralists had to choose a side. This was the night Paul Revere and other patriots rode to the towns, echoing their bold senses to the people and warning about the British, described in Paul Revere s Ride poem and Revere s letter to Jeremy Belknap. To the superiority of that night, people argue that Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poem is one of the most convincing, descriptive primary source found about that night. However, others question the dependability of Paul Revere s Ride in terms of exceeding differences between the poem and Revere s letter, including Longfellow s purpose in duty. Despite the importance of Paul Revere s Ride , Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poem is not considered a reliable source of historical information. One of the most acknowledged ideas arguing the validity of Paul Revere s Ride are the structural differences between the two sources, including the focused aspects of each writing. About 40,000 women die from breast cancer each year, making it the second leading cause of cancer death among women (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, n.d.). The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (2010) requires insurers to provide coverage for and shall not impose any cost sharing requirements for preventive services which are in the current recommendation of the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). By using this legislative tool, the federal government mandates health insurers to provide coverage for annual or biennial mammograms in women aged 40 and older (US Preventive Services Task Force, 2013). While the ACA regulates the age limit, frequency, and cost sharing rule of mammogram at federal level, preceding state policies regarding reimbursement for breast cancer screening dates back to the 1980s. Data, information and flows The notions of data, information as well as their flows are interconnected; however, many people use them as synonyms. Nevertheless, there are significant differences that need to be addressed. Thus, data is a raw piece of information, so to speak; it reflects a certain aspect of reality. A good example of data is the table that shows, which smart phones are equipped with NFC and which are equipped with Bluetooth LE. The importance of it lies in the fact that Apple iPhone 5 is not equipped with NFC and that is mere a piece of data. Information is data that has been processed and given a certain meaning. In other words, it engaged the data, but allows a person to make more sense of it.
