Financing Of Financing And Financing
I. Introduction
Financing methods of enterprises are categorized into the indirect financing and direct financing
depending on whether financial institutions such banks are involved in the financing process. The
indirect financing means financing acquired from financial institutions based on policy funds of the
government or funds formed by the financial institutions themselves. And the direct financing means
capital raising through stocks or private bonds issued in the capital market. For the last several
centuries, the financial markets have been dominated by the bank centric indirect financial market.
Today, however, the center of the financial market is moving toward the direct financial market thanks
to the development of the financial market. The capital market has become an essential element not
only of financing in the private sector but also of national economic development, because the scope
of financial transactions has expanded by a great deal by means of securities such as stocks and bonds.
To look into the past stages of the Korean economic development, a bank centric financial system was
maintained at the earlier stages while the banks played the role of a window for capital supply for the
economic development. Later, beginning in the 1990s, the Korean capital market was opened in a
phased manner in the trend of the global financial opening. Then, the Korean financial system started
to be transformed to one centered on the capital market as the opening of

Developing Competitive Advantage Advantages And Disadvantages
F. Developing Competitive Advantages (refer to Exhibit 4.7) As previously stated, it is difficult to
pinpoint a competitive advantage due to of the hyper competitive environment. Our strengths of the
program are matched or exceeded by competitors. The areas we could potentially capitalize on are our
academic rigor, our passionate staff in Southeast Online and the nursing department who provide
excellent customer service, and the prevalence of nursing courses being taught by tenure track faculty.
However, we aren t the only program that has passionate staff, that teaches using tenured faculty, and
are academically rigorous. The only way to provide leverage is if we are able to be the best in one of
these area s compared to our top regional competitors due to of the preference to attend within 100
miles from home. With all of our weaknesses and strengths identified, and considering that our
students ranked helpfulness of staff higher than quality of the program, customer intimacy is our best
chance of differentiating ourselves. There are multiple weaknesses that can be converted into
strengths, however the ability to do that will take a substantial amount of time due to the culture. For
example, time from application to enrollment. When a student applies to the university, we can t
accept them until we have received all of their transcripts. Students are admitted and sent a
notification to wait until the Registrar s Office completes their transcript review before

Examples Of Structuralism In I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
I am putting to use a structuralist view upon the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud because it can be
related to with simpleness, put down to the fact that it is positioned in the lyrical genre. Structuralism
is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to be part of a system of signs. Robert
Scholes demarcated structuralism as a reaction towards despair and modernism (Scholes, Robert.
Structuralism in Literature: An Introduction, 1975). I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is a poem that
commemorates the utmost beauty of nature to such a degree that the poet believes it to be ... Show

As previously stated, structuralism is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to
be part of a system of signs. Structuralists are concerned with issues such as form and genre. The
reason why I chose to apply a structuralist perspective upon William Wordsworth s poem is due to the
fact that that it can be easily interacted with because it is positioned in the lyrical genre. The rhyming
scheme is in the form ABABCC. The rhyming couplet evident at the end of each stanza creates an
unpretentious break caused by the addition of a new stanza. As a result, the final line of teach stanza
contains an additional sense of emphasis. The final line of the poem mentions the show and conveys
images of dancing daffodils, a long lasting impression discussed by Wordsworth. The meter of this
poem is an iambic tetrameter. The meter creates a rhythm with a musical, song like quality, to which
the daffodils may dance. Wordsworth also employs consonance and alliteration to create the sense of
rhythm. The form of a poem is of utmost importance to structuralist critics. I Wandered Lonely as a
Cloud is twenty four lines long and it features four stanzas with six lines each. In each individual
stanza there is a perceptible pattern the first line rhymes with the third line and the second line rhymes
with the fourth line. The stanzas finish with the inclusion of a rhyming couplet. By concentrating the
first three stanzas on the lake experience and the final on the memory of that experience, Wordsworth
amalgamates the content of the poem. It is interesting to note that despite the obvious fact that I
Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is built as a sonnet although it is a lyrical poem. Wordsworth employs
figurative language such as comparisons, personification, epithets and metaphors so as to express his
feelings to the reader. As a sub genre, I Wandered Lonely as

The German Invasion Of Poland
Introduction The German invasion of Poland on September 1st 1939, was an experimental display of
the most advanced and intense form of warfare the world had ever seen. With such a drastic use of
power and with aspirations expanding so wide, the German Wehrmacht 1, along with the Soviet Union
and a small Slovak contingent, soon escalated a central European battle into a global conflict. The
target of Poland, for such an experiment had been strategically chosen as a geographical and logistical
advantage, a self proclaimed repossession of pre World War one land ownership, and an eastern front
barrier with Germany s newly established pact/ally (via the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact), the USSR. The
concept of Blitzkrieg warfare had been developed by tactical lessons learned during and most
influentially, toward the end of World War One. When combined with technological innovations
developed until the advent of World War two, Nazi Germany would possess a devastating brainchild
that would eventually grow into the Shock and Awe technique of combat that we see today.2 The
execution of the invasion hailed the Germans with the overall victory they sought, however their
technique of the experiment were far from calibrated. The invading German army received heavy and
unanticipated losses from Polish defenders, even though Polish defense lines fell within two days of
initial invasion. Motivated by the protection of their people and the sanctity of the newly established
country of Poland

Comparing Mr. Margolin s Lawsuit Against Funny Face And...
Personal jurisdiction is the power of a court over the parties in the case. Before a court can exercise
power over a party, the constitution requires that the party has certain minimum contacts with the
forum in which the court sits. Due to the parties involved had contact through the use of the internet,
Margolin s lawsuit against Funny Face and Novelty will have jurisdiction over them. Mr. Margolin
could use these grounds to file suit and get compensation.
Subject matter jurisdiction is the authority that the court may have to hear cases of a particular type or
cases relating to a specific subject matter. Under federal and state jurisdictions, Mr. Margolin could

Persuasive Essay On Agriculture
When you think of the word agriculture farming is probably the first thought that comes to mind. At
its most basic element, agriculture is the way in which we produce food, the most basic human need.
There is an untold amount of differing opinions on the topic of how we should grow food; smaller
family farms being pitted against commercial operations, conventional agriculture against organic
practices, and much of the public does not know what side to pick. Agriculture has developed into a
highly controversial issue, with each view point claiming that it is the only correct way to farm;
despite this, it is imperative that we lay aside our differences in opinion and come together if we are
going to create a sustainable food system responsible for feeding 9 billion hungry mouths.
By the year 2050, estimates show that over 9 billion people will inhabit Earth, and it is imperative that
agriculture finds a way to feed them all. That is about 1.5 billion more people than there are today.
One of the biggest dilemmas that agriculture faces is that relatively little more land can be converted
into land used for agriculture production, without causing irreparable, detrimental effects to the
environment. The damage that this would cause is the subject for another essay, but the bottom line is
that it is necessary we produce this food using the land we already have. The only way we can
accomplish this is to combine the best practices of organic, or small farms, with those of

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Aggression
at are the Strengths and Weaknesses of Observational, and Experimental Studies on Children s
Aggressive Behaviour?
Arguably, studies on anger and aggression are used as an archetype to explore the issues faced when
studying emotion (Averill, 1983), specifically when studying aggression in children. However, the
research methods used whether they are experimental or observational have strengths and weaknesses.
In addition, the importance of the definition of aggression is applicable when deciding a study s
relevance.
A number of definitional issues are related to the concepts of aggression and has proven to be a
controversial issue, (Hinde, 1985). Therefore, a great difficulty that many social psychologists face
when studying aggression in children is how to define it. Arguably, emotions like aggression should
not be considered a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, such studies have extremely high external validity and allows for observations of more
subtle forms of aggression, unlike previous observational and experimental studies. Pepler and Craig s
study A Peek behind the Fence (1995) uses this technique to observe the full range of behaviours
(aggression) encountered in a school playground in two schools. They found that children registered
as aggressive were more likely to be observed behaving in a verbally and physically aggressive way
once every 3 and 8 minutes respectively, in comparison to non aggressive children who were observed
as verbally and physically aggressive once every 5 and 11 minutes. There are however, some
limitations to this method of observation. In any type of naturalistic observation, control is absent. On
the other hand, it allowed for the observation of long episodes of aggressive instances i.e., bullying,

Social Status
The Shining Status There are people that are poor, some are rich and those who are just fine. We all
have differences but we are all human and all need to live, although sometimes the importance of
where we stand can come in the way. In the story The Shining Houses we experience lots of judgment
and differences between people that relate to their popularity and social status. The more the world
grows, the more we see the priority of having a high social status in our societies. Alice Munro
describes to us a particular situation that can be related to our day to day lives. Marx s social hierarchy
is brought back, the perspectives of the young vs. the old and how a life can be changed so quickly.
First of all, in the story The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

social status in the neighborhood. Mrs. Fullerton is a kind of person that does what she wants and
doesn t listen to what others have to say and does not pay attention to the way things are done
differently at times. These statements are completely opposite for the more young and rich group of
people that take part of those of a high social status. In our society and the society in the story the
perspective shown is that it s what s on the outside that matters most. The looks and the money are
number one and one simple person who does not follow that may be seen with lots of judgement.
Things need to be new and not run down like Mrs. Fullerton s house and yard. These different
perspectives are not only thoughts that go on in people s minds but they lead to actions that can mess
with those of a lower social status. Thirdly, when you live in a neighborhood like Mrs. Fullerton and
see new people moving in and have lived for so long and deal with the world changing it is not easy.
Mrs. Fullerton is always filled with hatred against the economically well off upper class. Her way of
supporting herself, which was through selling eggs and chickens, is being threatened by the
development of low cost stores. Her home is also in danger, which becomes the central plot line of the
story. The suburban families, in

The Language Gap Between First And Second Generation...
One out of every four children in the United States lives with at least one foreign born parent, and
eighty eight percent of those children are second generation (Zong). Second generation immigrants
typically acquire the language spoken in the receiving country (their second language, the L2) when
old enough to leave the household for schooling, while their parents first generation immigrants retain
their native language (the L1). While childhood arrivals effortlessly acquire the L2, higher wage
returns and better job opportunities are typically prerequisite incentives for older immigrants to invest
in learning the L2 (Isphording).
As described by the Sapir Whorf hypothesis, the language one speaks determines how one
conceptualizes the world a phenomenon also known as linguistic relativity ( sapir whorf hypothesis. ).
Similar to this is linguistic determinism, which dictates that the process of thought and mental
categorization of input is also affected by language. With cognition so directly affected by language,
the language gap between first and second generation immigrants allows the two groups to have very
different conceptualizations of the world.
Second generation immigrants typically find difficulty in coping with the clash of the native culture
and language instilled by their parents and the culture and L2 they acquire in the receiving country. To
reconcile this, second generation immigrants forge their own identities by combining parts of each.

accepting the fact that he is outstanding at what he does. When he went through the horrible
experience of being treated like he was worth absolutely nothing by the Hutus. He had no self

also motivates them, even though he needs to be motivating himself. If he believed in himself more,
he could become unstopable. Also, John Conley recounts that Tuhabonye thinks These guys are better

nothing is easy. Coming from a third world country he has built himself up from nothing, and he
knows he has a long road ahead of him. Everyone in his life believes he can achieve his goals except
himself and thats something that he needs to work on according to his agent. He wants to win an

Media s Impacts On Adolescent Girls
Media s Impacts on Adolescent Girls
People are bombarded by media on a daily basis. Media, whether on the internet, on street signs, in
magazines, or on TV screens, has a lot to do with how girls see themselves because it is always so
present. Women all over the internet, on billboards, and in videos have become increasingly
sexualized and unrealistic. Media shows them in only underwear, retouched and edited to make them
perfect, and blown up on posters and signs for everyone to see. Models are becoming thinner. Music
videos of popular songs are becoming more about sex and what a woman s body should look like,
raising expectations for adolescent girls. Even television and movies show girls involved in sexual
activity at a very young age. Media can in some ways positively influence and teach young women,
showing them how to avoid sexual predators, teaching them about their bodies, and setting powerful
women as role models, but the amount of ways in which media negatively impacts adolescent women
is far higher than its positive impact. Young girls look to the media to tell them what beauty looks like
and develop themselves around this image, attempting to fit an unrealistic and objectified standard of
beauty and fulfill the expectations of men and society that, in effect, harms their body image.
Models in today s media and advertisements have to fit a certain weight requirement, a figure shown
all over the media that has influenced adolescent girls to fit an anemic size.

Similarities Between The British And Roman Empire
As the series Game of Thrones starts a new season, illustrating a bloody scenario of Kings and Queens
contesting for total control of lands and supremacy, we may be reminded that such a fiction was a
reality in past history minus the dragons and the walking dead of course. As history progresses in time,
empires rise and fall. Historians look back on once strong empires and are divided, concerning if the
damage they caused and slaughter they wrought was worth the advances they gave to the world. When
comparing once powerful empires like the British and Roman Empire, one clearly rises above all in
terms of all out strength and domination, but the way they become powerful is similar. Governments
that hold true power seem to be reflected on the most. Both the British and Roman Empire reigned
with significant authority and yielded to defeat or declinism; however, the Roman Empire stands
superior not only for its lengthy rule, but for its everlasting influence over others, and its expansion of
citizenship.
Both empires found great power and peaked at some point in their long reign, but with every great

How Does North Replace A Contradiction In Neoclassical...
North illuminates a contradiction in neoclassical economic theory as it relates to structure and change
in political economic systems. On one hand, North demonstrates that neoclassical theory fails to fully
explain what causes economic change, and is particularly deficient in explaining the emergence of
various ideologies. On the other hand, he presents evidence that rational individual behavior explains
specific institutional choices that result in change, both positive and negative. He attempts to resolve
this contradiction by offering theories of the state, organizations, and ideology. However, his argument
seems reducible to a statement that political economic institutions change when the benefits of change
outweigh the costs, and persist otherwise. This oversimplification does an injustice to ... Show more

His path dependency goes beyond explaining from where the present system emerged by assuming the
components of the current system always existed. For instance, North s discussion of free ridership
and the tragedy of the commons in hunter gather societies ten millennia in the past illustrates this
assumption. He also compares all historical systems against the modern definition of the market to
show why those previous systems failed to function properly. By focusing on the constraints and
inefficiencies imposed by previous political systems, institutions, and ideologies, North seems to be
arguing that if only those did not exist the system would have been efficient in essence, a liberal
economic argument founded upon a capitalist ideology. North s emphasis on markets and self interest,
rather than alternative models (e.g., reciprocity and altruism) suggests a view of history colored by a
specific ideological bent. In this light, North s argument does not explain the structure and change of
economic history so much as show why it took so long to arrive at the current, preferred,

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is associated with both economic and social costs not

In 2015, over 1 million drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of a narcotic or alcohol.
And despite the seriousness of the situation, many drivers continue to get behind the wheel while
under the influence of alcohol.
Economic costs
Aside from pain and suffering, the cost of alcohol related car accidents is in hundreds of billions of
dollars. With such accidents, there is usually damage to the car and property; there is also a risk of
injury to pedestrians and passengers. In addition, there is an enormous waste of valuable resources
when an alcoholic is involved in a car crash. The road has to be cleared, the damage to the lights has
to be repaired, the pavement has to be redone and other structures have to be fixed. There may be long
traffic jams. Ambulances and helicopters have to be rushed to the scene when there are injuries.

Why Faustus Is More Than Just A Reproduction Of Sin
The power of poetry provides mankind much more than an artistic well articulated rhythmic pattern of
words. Poets provide mankind, through poetry, the ability to explore intimately the wit, will, virtues,
vices, and nature of man s soul. At first glance it appears that Christopher Marlowe s, The Tragical
History of Doctor Faustus follows the Calvinistic teaching, ...that man is a fallen creature whose will
is fatally polluted by Original Sin, but also that a poet, by willfully creating verisimilitudes of this
fallen world only ever reproduces sin. (Reisner 332 3) Using Sir Philip Sidney s The Defense of Poesy
and applying it to Marlowe s Faustus, will allow exploring and understanding as to why Faustus is
more than just a reproduction of sin, but more an artistic imitation to provide a different approach in
demonstrating the power of poetry. Faustus s corrupt reality can be used as a means to teach and
delight mankind so that he might seek to better the, infected will that keepth us from teaching unto it.
(Sidney 10) Marlowe uses Faustus as a paradox of sin in order to prove the true power poets have; the
same power Sidney defends in his work. From the very beginning Faustus demonstrates his ability to
understand Sidney s erected wit , If we say that we have no sin,/We deceive ourselves, and there s no
truth in us. (Marlowe 42 3) Faustus knows that he is a sinner therefore, recognizes the virtue of truth.
Yet, since he has been taught that ...the reward of sin is

Is Joseph Conrad Racist Or Racist
One of these creatures rose to his hands and knees, and went off on all four towards the river to drink
(Conrad 53). Is Joseph Conrad being racist by saying this? Or is he just telling the story how it was in
1890 s? These are some of the questions that goes through a reader s mind after they read the Heart of
Darkness. The more the reader thinks about the words said about African Americans and women.
They may come to the idea that Conrad is a racist. By no means does this mean Conrad s work is not a
piece of famous art. How can a reader say author is or is not a racist person? Is Conrad s not racist or
is it just the main character Marlow? These questions have been a very hot topic when it comes to
Conrad s book Heart of Darkness.
The conquest of the earth, which mostly means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No person that ever read the Heart of Darkness can say it does not contain racism. Yet the novel is still
considered a piece of art because of the history it beholds ( Marlowe s 2). Many critics such as Chinua
Achebe will say other wise because of the racism it tells ( Marlowe s 2) Heart of Darkness is the idea
of how wicked a human s soul/ heart actually can be ( Racism 8). This proves that no matter the color
of one s skin that does not determine their personality (Conrad 88). This novel shows the darkest sides
of any human white or african american. That does not mean a thing but what does is who that person
really is. The Heart of Darkness tells an accurate story of a very disgusting time in the world (
Exploration 1). Even with all the facts and literature that shows it has racism in it, Heart of Darkness is
still a wonderful work of art to many. One must remember that all novels are open for one s own
interpretation ( Marlowe s 7). Therefore the book can be racist depending on the reader s
comprehension of the novel ( Marlowe s

The Theme Of Forbidden In The Duchess Of Malfi
Webster s play The Duchess of Malfi is a tragedy about a forbidden love but more specifically a
forbidden marriage, which leads to the deaths of the both the lovers and many other characters of the
play. The theme of the forbidden is also portrayed through the Machiavellian qualities of certain
characters as they lie and are deceitful. There is also the use of the motif of fruit which represents the
forbidden. Lastly, the forbidden is shown using women. These are also shown in other pieces of
literature, such as Paradise Lost, written by John Milton, however both writers portray the theme of
forbidden in different ways.
The use of the fruit as a motive fit into the theme of the forbidden as the Duchess eats the apricots
which forces her into pregnancy. In the quotation How greedily she eats them! with the use of the
exclamatory sentence it suggests that the Duchess is enjoying the forbiddance within the fruit which
ends up leading her to a big problem. It foreshadows the future events due to the fact that during the
16th century it was believed that apricots are what caused labour and this play supports this as the
Duchess went into labour straight after eating the apricots. It shows that the Duchess wasn t able to
recognise the risk of the fruit, but the enjoyment of the fruit is what lead her to carry on eating. The
Duchess seems to be chasing after the forbiddance within things and to explore them. However, this is
what causes the death of others as she is wanted to

Hero s, Anti Hero, And Making Order
Hero s, Anti Hero s, and Making Order In The World In Greece: Heracles and Dionysus, part 4 of the
Introduction to Mythology book, it gives a multitude of examples that describes both Heracles and
Dionysus as Hero s, Anti Hero s, as well as, helps portray how they make order in the world. Heracles
and Dionysus are illegitimate sons of the Greek god Zeus who both eventually achieve divine status,
albeit through two completely different paths. Heracles or more commonly known by the Romans as
Hercules, is one of the more recognizable hero s throughout history, his stories are filled with feats of
great strength, bravery, and cunning and is on full display in his series of twelve labors, where he

He did however; receive his divine status after his many journeys, namely completing his twelve
labors. The name Heracles is derived from his father s angry wife and goddesses name Hera. It was
meant to ward off her anger but to no avail. The stories of his existence will show how Hera
persecutes him throughout his journey, and brings anti hero moments to his legacy. These stories also
confirm the true hero status he earns by completing the twelve labors and becoming a symbol for
humanity. Heracles had a broad range of personalities. He was taught chariot driving, wrestling,
archery, fencing, and lyre playing at an early age. He famously donned the skin of the lion he killed at
Nemea, and frequently walked around with his symbolic large club that was noted throughout his
many journeys. He was the benefactor of the people and showed it by freeing Prometheus, becoming a
military patron to the ephebes, founding the Olympic games with his earnings, and being a guardian to
his community. He was powerful and at times a savage warrior. Sometimes he could be brutal and cut
off the ears, noses, and hands of people like he did to the extorting Minyans. Other times, he was what
writers like Aristophanes portrayed him to be; obsessed with food and an excessive drunk. At the very
least, he could be a violent man. He was known to have a bad temper but for the most part he used his
violent nature against things that

Essay On Rubik s Cube
Background Rubik s cube is a toy puzzle designed by Ernö Rubik during the mid 1970s. It is a cube
shaped toy consisting of smaller cube pieces, called cubies with 6 faces possessing contrasting colors.
This rather primitive looking phenomenon was exceptionally popular during the 1980s, and peaking in
1980 and 1983 with around 200 million cubes sold worldwide. Even sales today continue to exceed
500,000 sales worldwide each year, consequently earning the title the best selling toy of all time .(
How Rubik s Cube ) Seen as an object of art, the Rubik s Cube brilliance is perceived to reside in its
ability to embody and symbolize the evident contrasts in the human conditions: simplicity and
complexity, order and mayhem, bewilderment and comprehension, as Ernö remarks.(Davis)
Comparably, these traits can be observed when examining the most integral parts of the cube: its
history, design and mechanics, and mathematical applications. History Puzzle makers have been
creating complications and presenting adversities for people to solve and overcome ... Show more

Around 1983, however, the popularity of the cube began to die down and sales slowed drastically.
That was because the cube stayed in small scale production, but that changed when Seven Towns took
over the marketing, and licensed the Rubik Cube to the Oddzon Company for the United States in
1995. Since then, sales have steadily increased to over 500,000 units a year. ( How Rubik s Cube )
Moreover, in 1980, the cube won the prestigious German Game of the Year award and similar
decorations in France, Britain, and the United States. Also, books covering the cube were
simultaneously on the New York Times best seller list. Finally, today, with more than 350 million
cubes sold and at least one billion imitations in circulation, it is the best selling toy of all time and a
true cultural icon that will forever be recognized.

Potter Vs Gilgamesh

The Epic of Gilgamesh and Harry Potter are both stories that use the structure of an archetypal epic. In
these tales, the hero s timeline includes an abnormal birth or upbringing, leaving his family to live
with others, a tragic event which leads to a quest, a special weapon or supernatural help is introduced,
and in the end, the hero proves himself during the quest. An archetype can also be defined as a
recurrent symbol or motif in literature. The recurring theme of heroes and the number seven, are
present in both the Epic of Gilgamesh and of the Harry Potter series. Gilgamesh had seen everything,

HUMANITIES I
Art, The Individual and Society
A Term Paper
13 October 2011
I. INTRODUCTION Art has been around for thousands of years. In fact, different types of craft can be
traced back to prehistoric times when Neanderthal men started painting on the walls of the cave.
Throughout the centuries, art has evolved to several forms among which are sculpting, painting, and
even poetry. Art is the product or process of deliberately arranging items in a way that influences and
affects one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect. It encompasses a diverse range of human
activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music, literature, film, photography,
sculpture, and paintings. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the lowest layer of material at these sites there are used pieces of ochre estimated to be 60,000 years
old. Archaeologists have also found a fragment of rock painting preserved in a limestone rock shelter
in the Kimberley region of North Western Australia, that is dated 40 000 years old. There are examples
of cave paintings all over the world in India, France, Spain, Portugal, China, Australia, etc. In Western
cultures oil painting and watercolor painting have rich and complex traditions in style and subject
matter. In the East, ink and color ink historically predominated the choice of media with equally rich
and complex traditions. Modern and Contemporary Art has moved away from the historic value of
craft and documentation in favour of concept; this led some to say in the 1960s that painting, as a
serious art form, is dead. This has not deterred the majority of living painters from continuing to
practice painting either as whole or part of their work. The vitality and versatility of painting in the
21st century belies the premature declarations of its demise. In an epoch characterized by the idea of
pluralism, there is no consensus as to a representative style of the age. Important works of art continue
to be made in a wide variety of styles and aesthetic temperaments, the marketplace being left to judge
merit. Among the continuing and current directions

It was during the Elizabethan age that England felt the complete effect of the Renaissance. There
occurred a revival of the old and classical literature of Greece and Rome and this was manifested in

aestheticism and materialism which became the characteristic features of Elizabethan poetry. Many
poets displayed their skill in versification during this time and England came to be called The Nest Of
Singing Birds.

Differences Between Federalist And Democratic Republicans
Political philosophies amongst Federalist and Democratic Republicans have been much conflicted
throughout the years. The Federalist who was led by Alexander Hamilton were seeking to increase the
power of the central government then there was the Republicans who were led by Thomas Jefferson
whom were seeking to decrease the power of the central government. The Federalists advocated the
importance of a strong central government to protect the republic from the imprudence of democracy
leading the country forward, while the Democratic Republicans promoted increasing the common man
s role in government. Although both political parties had good intentions for the future of the United
States, the Federalist Party was much more effective at uniting ... Show more content on

About 20 to 30 years prior they won their independence from Britain but the feeling of failure still
stood amongst the people. The Federalist Party were at large to destroy the threat of failure by
fortifying the United States central government. In Hamilton s mind, the outcome in strengthening the
central government would allow freedom of speech and self freedom thus uniting American citizens.
Hamilton had witnessed firsthand the political and economic confusion caused by states conflicting
interests and corrupt taxation policies under the Articles of Confederation. He saw that the Federalists
must take control of the political and economic decision making for the Union to still stand a chance
to survive. In order for the Federalist government to take control of conflicts before getting worse
jeopardizing the United states future they adopted the philosophy of loose construction which allowed
a flexible interpretation of the United States Constitution that granted the Federal government implied
powers , powers that were not specifically granted to them by the Constitution. Hamilton believed that
allowing the Federal government such freedoms was important to the well being of the country
because this allowed the government to act in whatever manner would best serve the country s
interests, even if the actions stretched the limits of power set in the Constitution or even at times
violated. Even though the Democratic Republicans opposed, Alexander Hamilton asked congress to
charter the Bank of the United States which would be jointly owned by private stock holders and the
National government. The Bank stored excess printed paper money that was valuable. This excess
money allowed cash to circulate to prompt American businesses by making loans to merchants,
handling government funds, and issuing bills of credit. The National Bank was largely beneficial to
the American people, and yet it was

  • 2. Financing Of Financing And Financing I. Introduction Financing methods of enterprises are categorized into the indirect financing and direct financing depending on whether financial institutions such banks are involved in the financing process. The indirect financing means financing acquired from financial institutions based on policy funds of the government or funds formed by the financial institutions themselves. And the direct financing means capital raising through stocks or private bonds issued in the capital market. For the last several centuries, the financial markets have been dominated by the bank centric indirect financial market. Today, however, the center of the financial market is moving toward the direct financial market thanks to the development of the financial market. The capital market has become an essential element not only of financing in the private sector but also of national economic development, because the scope of financial transactions has expanded by a great deal by means of securities such as stocks and bonds. To look into the past stages of the Korean economic development, a bank centric financial system was maintained at the earlier stages while the banks played the role of a window for capital supply for the economic development. Later, beginning in the 1990s, the Korean capital market was opened in a phased manner in the trend of the global financial opening. Then, the Korean financial system started to be transformed to one centered on the capital market as the opening of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Developing Competitive Advantage Advantages And Disadvantages F. Developing Competitive Advantages (refer to Exhibit 4.7) As previously stated, it is difficult to pinpoint a competitive advantage due to of the hyper competitive environment. Our strengths of the program are matched or exceeded by competitors. The areas we could potentially capitalize on are our academic rigor, our passionate staff in Southeast Online and the nursing department who provide excellent customer service, and the prevalence of nursing courses being taught by tenure track faculty. However, we aren t the only program that has passionate staff, that teaches using tenured faculty, and are academically rigorous. The only way to provide leverage is if we are able to be the best in one of these area s compared to our top regional competitors due to of the preference to attend within 100 miles from home. With all of our weaknesses and strengths identified, and considering that our students ranked helpfulness of staff higher than quality of the program, customer intimacy is our best chance of differentiating ourselves. There are multiple weaknesses that can be converted into strengths, however the ability to do that will take a substantial amount of time due to the culture. For example, time from application to enrollment. When a student applies to the university, we can t accept them until we have received all of their transcripts. Students are admitted and sent a notification to wait until the Registrar s Office completes their transcript review before ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Examples Of Structuralism In I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud I am putting to use a structuralist view upon the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud because it can be related to with simpleness, put down to the fact that it is positioned in the lyrical genre. Structuralism is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to be part of a system of signs. Robert Scholes demarcated structuralism as a reaction towards despair and modernism (Scholes, Robert. Structuralism in Literature: An Introduction, 1975). I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is a poem that commemorates the utmost beauty of nature to such a degree that the poet believes it to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously stated, structuralism is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to be part of a system of signs. Structuralists are concerned with issues such as form and genre. The reason why I chose to apply a structuralist perspective upon William Wordsworth s poem is due to the fact that that it can be easily interacted with because it is positioned in the lyrical genre. The rhyming scheme is in the form ABABCC. The rhyming couplet evident at the end of each stanza creates an unpretentious break caused by the addition of a new stanza. As a result, the final line of teach stanza contains an additional sense of emphasis. The final line of the poem mentions the show and conveys images of dancing daffodils, a long lasting impression discussed by Wordsworth. The meter of this poem is an iambic tetrameter. The meter creates a rhythm with a musical, song like quality, to which the daffodils may dance. Wordsworth also employs consonance and alliteration to create the sense of rhythm. The form of a poem is of utmost importance to structuralist critics. I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is twenty four lines long and it features four stanzas with six lines each. In each individual stanza there is a perceptible pattern the first line rhymes with the third line and the second line rhymes with the fourth line. The stanzas finish with the inclusion of a rhyming couplet. By concentrating the first three stanzas on the lake experience and the final on the memory of that experience, Wordsworth amalgamates the content of the poem. It is interesting to note that despite the obvious fact that I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is built as a sonnet although it is a lyrical poem. Wordsworth employs figurative language such as comparisons, personification, epithets and metaphors so as to express his feelings to the reader. As a sub genre, I Wandered Lonely as ... • 5. The German Invasion Of Poland Introduction The German invasion of Poland on September 1st 1939, was an experimental display of the most advanced and intense form of warfare the world had ever seen. With such a drastic use of power and with aspirations expanding so wide, the German Wehrmacht 1, along with the Soviet Union and a small Slovak contingent, soon escalated a central European battle into a global conflict. The target of Poland, for such an experiment had been strategically chosen as a geographical and logistical advantage, a self proclaimed repossession of pre World War one land ownership, and an eastern front barrier with Germany s newly established pact/ally (via the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact), the USSR. The concept of Blitzkrieg warfare had been developed by tactical lessons learned during and most influentially, toward the end of World War One. When combined with technological innovations developed until the advent of World War two, Nazi Germany would possess a devastating brainchild that would eventually grow into the Shock and Awe technique of combat that we see today.2 The execution of the invasion hailed the Germans with the overall victory they sought, however their technique of the experiment were far from calibrated. The invading German army received heavy and unanticipated losses from Polish defenders, even though Polish defense lines fell within two days of initial invasion. • 7. Persuasive Essay On Agriculture When you think of the word agriculture farming is probably the first thought that comes to mind. At its most basic element, agriculture is the way in which we produce food, the most basic human need. There is an untold amount of differing opinions on the topic of how we should grow food; smaller family farms being pitted against commercial operations, conventional agriculture against organic practices, and much of the public does not know what side to pick. Agriculture has developed into a highly controversial issue, with each view point claiming that it is the only correct way to farm; despite this, it is imperative that we lay aside our differences in opinion and come together if we are going to create a sustainable food system responsible for feeding 9 billion hungry mouths. By the year 2050, estimates show that over 9 billion people will inhabit Earth, and it is imperative that agriculture finds a way to feed them all. That is about 1.5 billion more people than there are today. One of the biggest dilemmas that agriculture faces is that relatively little more land can be converted into land used for agriculture production, without causing irreparable, detrimental effects to the environment. The damage that this would cause is the subject for another essay, but the bottom line is that it is necessary we produce this food using the land we already have. The only way we can accomplish this is to combine the best practices of organic, or small farms, with those of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Aggression at are the Strengths and Weaknesses of Observational, and Experimental Studies on Children s Aggressive Behaviour? Arguably, studies on anger and aggression are used as an archetype to explore the issues faced when studying emotion (Averill, 1983), specifically when studying aggression in children. However, the research methods used whether they are experimental or observational have strengths and weaknesses. In addition, the importance of the definition of aggression is applicable when deciding a study s relevance. A number of definitional issues are related to the concepts of aggression and has proven to be a controversial issue, (Hinde, 1985). Therefore, a great difficulty that many social psychologists face when studying aggression in children is how to define it. Arguably, emotions like aggression should not be considered a ... As a result, such studies have extremely high external validity and allows for observations of more subtle forms of aggression, unlike previous observational and experimental studies. Pepler and Craig s study A Peek behind the Fence (1995) uses this technique to observe the full range of behaviours (aggression) encountered in a school playground in two schools. They found that children registered as aggressive were more likely to be observed behaving in a verbally and physically aggressive way once every 3 and 8 minutes respectively, in comparison to non aggressive children who were observed as verbally and physically aggressive once every 5 and 11 minutes. There are however, some limitations to this method of observation. In any type of naturalistic observation, control is absent. • 9. Social Status The Shining Status There are people that are poor, some are rich and those who are just fine. We all have differences but we are all human and all need to live, although sometimes the importance of where we stand can come in the way. In the story The Shining Houses we experience lots of judgment and differences between people that relate to their popularity and social status. The more the world grows, the more we see the priority of having a high social status in our societies. Alice Munro describes to us a particular situation that can be related to our day to day lives. Marx s social hierarchy is brought back, the perspectives of the young vs. the old and how a life can be changed so quickly. First of all, in the story The ... Mrs. Fullerton is a kind of person that does what she wants and doesn t listen to what others have to say and does not pay attention to the way things are done differently at times. These statements are completely opposite for the more young and rich group of people that take part of those of a high social status. In our society and the society in the story the perspective shown is that it s what s on the outside that matters most. The looks and the money are number one and one simple person who does not follow that may be seen with lots of judgement. Things need to be new and not run down like Mrs. Fullerton s house and yard. These different perspectives are not only thoughts that go on in people s minds but they lead to actions that can mess with those of a lower social status. Thirdly, when you live in a neighborhood like Mrs. Fullerton and see new people moving in and have lived for so long and deal with the world changing it is not easy. Mrs. Fullerton is always filled with hatred against the economically well off upper class. • 10. The Language Gap Between First And Second Generation... One out of every four children in the United States lives with at least one foreign born parent, and eighty eight percent of those children are second generation (Zong). Second generation immigrants typically acquire the language spoken in the receiving country (their second language, the L2) when old enough to leave the household for schooling, while their parents first generation immigrants retain their native language (the L1). While childhood arrivals effortlessly acquire the L2, higher wage returns and better job opportunities are typically prerequisite incentives for older immigrants to invest in learning the L2 (Isphording). As described by the Sapir Whorf hypothesis, the language one speaks determines how one conceptualizes the world a phenomenon also known as linguistic relativity ( sapir whorf hypothesis. ). Similar to this is linguistic determinism, which dictates that the process of thought and mental categorization of input is also affected by language. With cognition so directly affected by language, the language gap between first and second generation immigrants allows the two groups to have very different conceptualizations of the world. Second generation immigrants typically find difficulty in coping with the clash of the native culture and language instilled by their parents and the culture and L2 they acquire in the receiving country. To reconcile this, second generation immigrants forge their own identities by combining parts of each. The resulting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When he went through the horrible experience of being treated like he was worth absolutely nothing by the Hutus. He had no self confidence and some of that is still with him. Tuhabonye coaches people to be the best they can be and also motivates them, even though he needs to be motivating himself. If he believed in himself more, he could become unstopable. Also, John Conley recounts that Tuhabonye thinks These guys are better than me, and he puts himself in last place. Media, whether on the internet, on street signs, in magazines, or on TV screens, has a lot to do with how girls see themselves because it is always so present. Women all over the internet, on billboards, and in videos have become increasingly sexualized and unrealistic. Media shows them in only underwear, retouched and edited to make them perfect, and blown up on posters and signs for everyone to see. Models are becoming thinner. Music videos of popular songs are becoming more about sex and what a woman s body should look like, raising expectations for adolescent girls. Even television and movies show girls involved in sexual activity at a very young age. Media can in some ways positively influence and teach young women, showing them how to avoid sexual predators, teaching them about their bodies, and setting powerful women as role models, but the amount of ways in which media negatively impacts adolescent women is far higher than its positive impact. Young girls look to the media to tell them what beauty looks like and develop themselves around this image, attempting to fit an unrealistic and objectified standard of beauty and fulfill the expectations of men and society that, in effect, harms their body image. Models in today s media and advertisements have to fit a certain weight requirement, a figure shown all over the media that has influenced adolescent girls to fit an anemic size. ... North illuminates a contradiction in neoclassical economic theory as it relates to structure and change in political economic systems. On one hand, North demonstrates that neoclassical theory fails to fully explain what causes economic change, and is particularly deficient in explaining the emergence of various ideologies. On the other hand, he presents evidence that rational individual behavior explains specific institutional choices that result in change, both positive and negative. He attempts to resolve this contradiction by offering theories of the state, organizations, and ideology. However, his argument seems reducible to a statement that political economic institutions change when the benefits of change outweigh the costs, and persist otherwise. He also compares all historical systems against the modern definition of the market to show why those previous systems failed to function properly. By focusing on the constraints and inefficiencies imposed by previous political systems, institutions, and ideologies, North seems to be arguing that if only those did not exist the system would have been efficient in essence, a liberal economic argument founded upon a capitalist ideology. North s emphasis on markets and self interest, rather than alternative models (e.g., reciprocity and altruism) suggests a view of history colored by a specific ideological bent. • 22. Why Faustus Is More Than Just A Reproduction Of Sin The power of poetry provides mankind much more than an artistic well articulated rhythmic pattern of words. Poets provide mankind, through poetry, the ability to explore intimately the wit, will, virtues, vices, and nature of man s soul. At first glance it appears that Christopher Marlowe s, The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus follows the Calvinistic teaching, ...that man is a fallen creature whose will is fatally polluted by Original Sin, but also that a poet, by willfully creating verisimilitudes of this fallen world only ever reproduces sin. (Reisner 332 3) Using Sir Philip Sidney s The Defense of Poesy and applying it to Marlowe s Faustus, will allow exploring and understanding as to why Faustus is more than just a reproduction of sin, but more an artistic imitation to provide a different approach in demonstrating the power of poetry. Faustus s corrupt reality can be used as a means to teach and delight mankind so that he might seek to better the, infected will that keepth us from teaching unto it. (Sidney 10) Marlowe uses Faustus as a paradox of sin in order to prove the true power poets have; the same power Sidney defends in his work. From the very beginning Faustus demonstrates his ability to understand Sidney s erected wit , If we say that we have no sin,/We deceive ourselves, and there s no truth in us. The theme of the forbidden is also portrayed through the Machiavellian qualities of certain characters as they lie and are deceitful. There is also the use of the motif of fruit which represents the forbidden. Lastly, the forbidden is shown using women. These are also shown in other pieces of literature, such as Paradise Lost, written by John Milton, however both writers portray the theme of forbidden in different ways. The use of the fruit as a motive fit into the theme of the forbidden as the Duchess eats the apricots which forces her into pregnancy. In the quotation How greedily she eats them! with the use of the exclamatory sentence it suggests that the Duchess is enjoying the forbiddance within the fruit which ends up leading her to a big problem. It foreshadows the future events due to the fact that during the 16th century it was believed that apricots are what caused labour and this play supports this as the Duchess went into labour straight after eating the apricots. It shows that the Duchess wasn t able to recognise the risk of the fruit, but the enjoyment of the fruit is what lead her to carry on eating.
