1. Bibliographic Essay Example
Writing a bibliographic essay can be a challenging task that requires careful research,
organization, and critical thinking. The difficulty lies not only in summarizing and evaluating
various sources but also in weaving them together to create a cohesive narrative. A bibliographic
essay typically involves reviewing a significant number of scholarly articles, books, and other
resources, and selecting the most relevant ones to support your argument or provide a
comprehensive overview of a particular subject.
One of the challenges is to strike the right balance between summarizing the key points of each
source and analyzing their contributions to the topic. It requires a deep understanding of the
subject matter and the ability to synthesize information from diverse perspectives. Additionally,
ensuring proper citation and referencing is crucial to maintaining academic integrity and avoiding
plagiarism.
Another difficulty lies in structuring the essay in a logical and coherent manner. Organizing the
information in a way that flows smoothly and effectively communicates your thesis can be a
complex task. It's essential to create a clear introduction, body, and conclusion that guide the
reader through the evolution of ideas presented in the essay.
Furthermore, staying focused on the chosen topic and avoiding unnecessary details or tangential
information is a constant challenge. It requires a keen sense of judgment to determine which
sources are most relevant and how to integrate them seamlessly into the essay.
In conclusion, writing a bibliographic essay demands a combination of research skills, critical
thinking, and effective communication. Overcoming the challenges involved in summarizing,
evaluating, and synthesizing a variety of sources requires time, effort, and a solid understanding
of the chosen topic. However, with careful planning and attention to detail, it is possible to
create a well-constructed and insightful bibliographic essay.

1. What assessments will you make prior to prescribing a cephalosporin? The patient
s medication allergies need to be questioned due to the high incidence of a drug
reaction to cephalosporins if the patient has an allergy to penicillin (UpToDate, 2015).
2. What first line cephalosporin will you prescribe? When treating primary or
secondary skin infections, first generation cephalosporins are recommended as the
standard initial treatment (Woo Wynne, 2012). According to Woo Wynne (2012),
cephalexin is the most used drug for surgical incision infections (Woo Wynne, 2012).
Woo Wynne (2012) recommend dosing for cephalexin for soft tissue and skin
infections 500mg every 12 hours (Woo Wynne, 2012). 3. What are the
pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacotherapeutics for the first line
cephalosporins? (Address the action, use, contraindications, drug to drug and drug to
food interaction, adverse effects, and patient teaching/nursing interventions.)

3. Religious Influences On My Identity
My Identity
Identity is who one is considering varying perspectives and experiences. Identity is
sometimes affected in various angles. It may include aspects such a religion, family,
and age.
For me, religion is one of the most significant aspects of my identity. My first
encounter with religion was months after being born when I was baptized. Since
little my family has instilled the importance of religion. For example, from the age
of 5, or so, I went to church every Sunday with my paternal grandparents. In the
beginning,I did not know what it was since we were so little. As we grew more
mature I started to understand how important Catholicism was for my family and
as well for other people. Every day when we eat as a family we always thank God for
everything he has given us and we ask him to help other people. Anytime we are in
rough circumstances we always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we are born, we are not born with values and expectations, but we learn them
from our parents who raise us and teach us. We do not only learn through these
adults teaching us, but we learn by watching the examples they give us. As we
grow up to a more mature age that we can understand what values are we can use
them as our own . For example, my parents have always taught us to be respectful
and educated. Every time we see someone we know or even when we meet someone
new,we ought to treat them with respect. My sister and I have even gone to Etiquette
and Protocol workshops to work on how to be more educated. Another example of
how my family has influenced my identity is the advice they give me for everyday
life. My mom always tells me to live in the present and forget about the future
because I sometimes worry too much of what will happen instead of what is
happening. She also tells me not to let anyone trample you down because you are
more capable than them. This is some of the advice I will give to my kids when I m
4. Summary Of Survival In Auschwitz By Primo Levi
Title One of the natural instincts of intelligent beings is in the case of fear to fight,
or to run away; however, in some cases like in the concentration camps in Germany
during World War II it is hard to do either of those two natural responses. This
issue, with not being able to enact on this natural instinct because of the restriction
of being closely controlled, is related to Primo Levi in his autobiography Survival
in Auschwitz he was a captured Italian Jew who was able to survive Auschwitz
because of how he internally thought with himself to stay alive. The Holocaust is
one of the most researched events during World War II; and Levi is one of the,
relatively, few who survived, and went on to be able to tell his story. In Survival in
Auschwitz Levi detailed the horrible conditions the soldiers lived and worked in as
well as the malnutrition he experienced. Levi also detailed his struggle to stay
human which, along with climbing up the social ranks, helped him survive; As a
result of these struggles Levi seems to believe there is at least a slight lesson to
learn from his survival. During World War II, if a person was labeled as a Jew,
whether they were actively practicing or not, and was captured then sent to a
concentration camp life was absolutely brutal. Unless you were in Ka Be, the
concentration camp version of an infirmary, there were hardly any sanitary places.
Even the bathroom which should be clean and at least have clean running water was
disgusting; as
5. Isolation In Isabel Allende s The House Of The Spirits
For Esteban Trueba in chapter 2 of the House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, after
the death of his fiancee Rosa, he demonstrates his reactions to total isolation from his
family, friends, and the ones he loves most. Ultimately, Esteban s reactions to this
newfound isolation help convey his character which is demonstrated through
symbolism, diction, and inner conflict he faces through all these years. Because
Esteban becomes the leader of the Tres Marias hacienda, he assumes a sensual
nature, but nonetheless an anxious, angry, and tense one as well, as exemplified by
the symbolism and wordplay of Allende. In the first section of the passage, Allende
represents Esteban s mourning of Rosa s death as during The first months, Esteban
Trueba was so busy channeling water, digging wells, removing stones, clearing
pastures, and repairing the chicken coops and stable that the had no time to think
about anything (Allende). By using words such as channeling, removing, clearing,
and repairing, it ultimately depicts meaning towards Esteban s grief against the
death of Rosa. For example, by channeling his anger, removing and clearing what he
had with her, and by trying to repair himself mentally after being so distraught, it
helps demonstrate and foreshadow the fact that he is a very emotional person
throughout the entire book. Overall, by Allende portraying Esteban as a character
that is very hard working and admirable through using these words, her aim is for the

3.What are the sociological characteristics of religion in the United States? Build an
argument that religion is likely to remain a strong feature of life in the United States
or why religion may not remain a strong feature in the lives of Americans.
Belief is a form of principle, created through a mutual worldview that pulls together
individuals who recognize with it, Education views as public creations of social

continue strong in the life of the United State people. Because most people lived

religion to have peace or find answers. Humans based their life on their religion
therefore I know religion would remain a strong feature in the lives of the
7. Marxist View Of What Law Is The Foundation Of Society
And Law
1.Marxists argue that control of the means of production is the foundation of society
and law is a reflection of that dynamic. Do you agree? Discuss.
Law is only a superstructure; in reality it only translates the interests of those who
hold the reins of command in any given society; it is an instrument in the service of
those who exercise their dictatorship in this society because they have the instruments
of production within their control.
For Marx there were two distinct classes in society, the ruling class, the owners of the
means of production, the Bourgeoisie and the ruled class, the Proletariat . The quote,
with which I begin this essay, clearly explains the Marxist view of what law is in a
given society. For Marxists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those in power within the law making bodies are quite clearly what Marx would
consider bourgeois: they are highly paid, highly educated individuals who have a
means of controlling how (and indeed what) laws are put in to place. Arguably it is
unavoidable, to find ourselves in a situation, in which, we have a select group in
society in positions of power, who can implement and change legislation. Most
would argue that these people have been democratically elected, and chosen by
democratic means. Marxists believe that the bourgeoisie have the control of law
making bodies and thus make laws which are favourable towards their social class
whilst penalising the proletariat. We can see this expressed in the Communist
Manifesto
Your very ideas are but the outgrowth of the conditions of your bourgeois
production and bourgeois property, just as your jurisprudence is but the will of your
class made in to a law for all .
This statement highlights the Marxist belief that control of the means of creation of
law, allows for the creation of laws which could be seen as coercive and controlling.
An example of these, unjust laws, within our society which coincide with this
Marxist view could be the under occupancy charge, more commonly known as the
bedroom tax. Under this legislation we see a reduction in housing benefits for people
who have
8. Ferris Bueller s Day Off Psychology
Ferris Bueller s Day Off is one of my favorite movies of all time. He lets go of all
responsibility for an entire day and is open to any and all adventures that come his
way which reminds me of my experience with yoga. We could all learn some very
valuable lessons from this movie. When practicing yoga is the only time I feel that
I get to connect with myself and feel open to anything that comes my way. Ferris s
day off is his form of yoga because he is able to reflect on what makes him happy.
By taking a day off from all responsibility Ferris gets to do what makes him happy
and reflect on himself and his friends throughout the day. While watching the movie
I was most focused on Ferris and his routine throughout the movie. I felt as though
his day off was a very long form of meditation for him and taking a break from his
daily routine. The definition of meditation from The Yoga Journal is to engage in
contemplation or reflection another definition for meditation is The object of
meditation is anything used to help focus the mind (Pg. 217). Both of these
definitions seem very true to my meaning of meditation which is giving yourself time

9. Muscle Myopathy Case Study
Actin Filaments
Actin mutations can cause dysfunctioning of actin filaments. These dysfunctions of
actin filaments are mostly affect the dynamicity of actin filaments rather than
complete disruption of actin filaments, and can lead to muscle myopathies and
compromised immunity.
Muscle myopathy is a disease in which the skeletal muscle in human body weakens
and difficult to move (Carnell et al., 2012). This disease can also affect the smooth
muscle in respiratory tract that leads to shortage in oxygen and carbon dioxide
accumulation in blood. This disease is caused by the mutation of ATP binding
activity of actin filaments. Therefore, muscle contraction cannot occur, being that
ATP is essential for the muscle to contract. There is no effective cure for this disease
(NINDS, 2015). However, some treatments can be done to overcome the weakness of
the muscle. Treatment for this disease is based on the muscle condition of the patient.

mutation of Wiskott Aldrich syndrome protein (WASP) gene that results in the loss
of WASP and disruption of actin filaments. This will affect white blood cells motility
and can cause immunodeficiency. Some treatments and therapies can be effective to
cure this disease (Cooper et al., 2003). Hematopoietic stem cells transplantation from
a matching donor can restore white blood cells function. Hematopoietic stem cells
include bone narrow and peripheral blood cells. Gene therapy is also an effective
way to treat immunodeficiency. This therapy is done by engaging extracellular
cytokine ligation to the gene that will modify the transcription program of the white
blood cells, resulting in motile white blood
10. Brief Summary Of Eliezer Wiesel s Night
For the first time, I felt anger rising within me. Why should I sanctify His name?
The Almighty, the eternal and terrible Master of the Universe, chose to be silent.
What was there to thank Him for? (Pg. 61 63) I think this is the most significant
passage in Night because Eliezer s entire life he always praised Godand loved him for
protecting him but the when he was sent to a Concentration Camp all of his love
turned into hate because Eliezer felt like God stopped caring about him; The
Concentration Camp took away Eliezer s means of living.
Night ending summary: Right after Eliezer s father was cremated because he was
very sick the Germans cut off all rations to the prisoners and started evacuating
everyone in groups of in blocks of ten. On April 10th the Germans decided to
evacuate everyone but were ambushed by the American army and all the prisoners
were freed. The book ends with Eliezer talking about how everyone s first act as

As soon as he is sent to the Concentration Camps he losses this part of his life and
starts blaming God for not doing anything. Eliezer also starts caring more about
himself and only about food rather than for his family. Eliezer multiple times thinks
about not sharing his food rations with his very weak old father and he even thought
about a way to leave his father so he does not have to care for him. This shows how
a hellish experience like the Holocaust can completely change a person s means of
living.
I think Roberto Benigni titled his film Life is Beautiful because it is a title that
contradicts to the actual plot of the movie because the Holocaust is the complete
opposite of life being beautiful. The title however also goes well with the movie
because it relates to how Guedo turns the Holocaust into a game to protect his son
and how he makes a major sacrifice for his

The Future of the NCAA College athletic programs are among the most popular
sporting events in America. With this rise in popularity, the National Collegiate
Athletic Association (NCAA) and its colleges have also seen a rise in revenue in
recent years. In 2014, the NCAA made over 900 million dollars in revenue. Some
collegiate coaches, such as Kentucky s John Calipari, have yearly salaries in the
millions, not counting incentives and endorsement deals. While, clearly, money is
being made, NCAA regulations ban collegiate athletes from being paid. Many
question this rule and argue that athletes at the college level earn and deserve pay for
play. The debate to pay or not to pay college athletes rages on despite the latest court
ruling supporting NCAA policies. Because colleges and universities earn such a profit
from sporting events, many fans feel it is only fair to distribute some of the wealth to
the players. Supporters of paying student athletes feel that these young men and
women should be fairly compensated for the time demanded of the athletes and the
stress put on the athletes, physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. Those in
favor of paying college athletes contend that athletic and academic work ethic at both
high school and collegiate levels will improve, as well as, fiscal responsibility in
these young adults. The NCAA argues that paying athletes would negatively affect

Introduction: If there is a high amount of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, and an
antacid is consumed, the antacid will absorb excess acid in the stomach. This
reduction of hydrochloric acid is absorbed by antacids that neutralize stomach acid
(Vodopich). The purpose of this experiment is to determine how commercial antacids
perform in absorbing acids. The hypothesis is that the antacid in Tums will reduce the
amount of hydrochloric acid inside the stomach.
Methods: For this experiment, the independent variable is the commercial antacid

14. The Pros And Cons Of Internet Addiction
Within our modern world, the notion that human beings are distancing themselves
farther and farther from inter personal communication cannot be closer to the truth. In
today s world, people utilize technology to make things easier, and to better
understand the world surrounding the individuals. What ever happened to the
relationship between a single personand their peers when knowledge came to be a
defining factor? In this research paper, it will be discussing what an addiction to
this technology does to a person. It will be investigating the differences and
comparisons between two forms of an internet addiction: Cybersex and porn, and a
dependency on video games. It will also be considering what these two addictions do
and how they affect the lives of both single people, and parents who have adopted
responsibilities within their households by declaring themselves part of a family unit.
Summary
Internet addiction is a new age phenomenon that not all people active in the modern
world fully understand. To many, it is simply playing on the computer too much ,
however, those same people do not even realize that they are part of the
phenomenon. It has been stated by many scientists in multiple studies that we, as a
generation in the twenty first century, will have back problems by the time people
are in our late years. This is due to the invention and adaptation of the smart phone.
Everyone has a device such as this, and spend most of their day on it in some way or
another.

Noah and the Ark
The story of Noah and the ark is probably one of the most read stories of the bible.
Perhaps it is because of the great tragedy it portrays, or because it is a story of
salvation. Noah and his family along with the animals were saved from the flood,
while the other people and animals perished as a result of it. Growing up the story of
Noah and the ark was one of my favorites; Quite simply because of the drawings
depicting the story. They appeared so beautiful, when after many years I m

God decided to wipe out mankind with a flood. In order to help repopulate the earth
after the flood was over, God called upon Noah. God told Noah to build himself an
ark out of cypress wood, with room inside. He told Noah to cover the ark, both
inside and out with pitch to protect it from the waters. God instructed Noah as to
the size of the ark, and what it was to look like. The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75
feet wide, and 45 feet high. Make a roof for it and finish the ark within 18 inches of
the top. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle, and upper decks.
(Genesis 6: 15 16) God also told Noah about the plan for the flood, and what he was
to do with the ark. Noah, his wife, his sons, and his sons wives would all be on the
ark an spared from the destruction the flood would cause. Along with his family,
God wanted Noah to bring two of all living creatures, one male, and one female.
Brining a male and a female of each kind of creature would allow them to
reproduce and repopulate their species. The last thing God commanded Noah to
do was to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and stored for his family and
the creatures. Noah and his family entered the ark as God had commanded. After
seven days, the waters of the flood were over the earth. All the wellsprings of the
great deep burst and the casements of the heavens were opened. (Genesis pg 32) It

16. Case Study On Smart Watches
I decided to write my case study about the smart watches, because this is a new
expanding market and people do not know much about these devices. The
smartwatch is a wearable computing device, that people wear it on their wrist.
From outside it is similar to a wristwatch but from inside it is more like a
smartphone. It provides a lot of features that we can do with a smartphone, we can
connect these to gadget to each other in order to make our life easier. But when did
these small devices started to extend?
People started to imagine what could they do with their wristwatch in the 1940s, we
can see intelligent watches in movies like Drick Tracy or Star Trek in the 1940, but
then it was just a fantasy. The first big step on the way to the smartwatches was the
introduction of the so called Pulsar watch in 1972. It has lasted for 20 years to
develop this digital watch and the American Hamilton Watch Companyhas debuted
with it. The quartz watches mean an enormous threat to the traditional watch
industry. These watches were much cheaper and more precise than mechanical ones.
From that time watches started to be more complex and electric. ... Show more

not so big. That is why the market of quartz watches did not start to fall. Swiss
watchmakers were reluctant to these changes but they recognized if they wanted to

wanted quartz watches, they created the Swatch brand. Now it belongs to the World s

and then the Musahiban family ruled over Afghanistan from 1929 1978. The

of rising revolts. Under the Musahbian family they did not impose any changes or

positive neutrality and friendship were rather effective, and enabled him to establish
control over the domestic environment.
One of the most essential domestic successes during Musahiban was the Economic

under Majed Zabulli s leadership was one of those successes that helped Afghanistan
to modernize its economy. He putted lots of efforts and contributions to influence

19. Critical Theories Of Reader-Response Theory
People start to express and exchange their opinions about art or literature works and
try to understand the deeper meaning of them with the development of the society.
Different critical theories that are introduced during this semester in Critical
Inquiry have been built based on various of society events or issues in different
periods. After getting in touch with each popular theory, Reader Response Theory,
in the personal opinion, has become one of the commonest theories since it only
considers the personal experience of the readers and how it connects to the work;
the readers would receive different messages and come up with their personal
thoughts and comments toward what they read, see or watch. Different from African
American Theory or LGBTQ Theory, Reader Response Theory does not have a
limitation on the subject position or cultural background because the comments and
thoughts are based on the readers personal experience and from their own view
points, and this characteristic will always benefit people not only in college but also
in their entire life by expanding their horizons and helping them to find and
understand their own lens in professional practices. In Lois Tyson s Using Critical
Theory, she explains that Reader Response Theory is something interesting or useful
about ourselves (13). Although there are several types of Reader Response Theory
focusing on different fields, when people come up with their reflections about a
work, they are led by a

changes that contributed to the development of the 19th century Victorian England
that will help to understand the general picture of the Victorian period in order to

The Victorian period begins in England on 20 June 1837 when Queen Victoria
(1819 1901) mounted the throne after the death of her uncle William IV and ends
in 22nd January 1901 with her death (of natural causes) and succession of her

of England from1760 to 1820), but King Edward VII governed the country from 22

21. Corruption Of Power Essay
The body, mind, and soul of an individual are capable of becoming corrupted by
power. Power makes one feel as if that person was a God, which is a sign of the
corruption in that individual. According to Lord Actin, Power corrupts and absolute
power corrupts absolutely, states that power can make an individual vulnerable to
corruption. The second portion of Lord Actin?s quote discusses absolute power
corrupting absolutely which implies that absolute power can corrupt an individual as
well as the individual?s surroundings. This idea of corruption can be located in
fictional novels such as Animal Farm by George Orwell. Animal Farm is a story
about animals dictated by a former animal comrade. The dictator in the novel,

countless human beings. Hitler?s philosophy of thinking made him kill retarded,
crippled, and disabled children along with homosexuals and Jewish people. The
power that Hitler received when he became leader corrupted him and made him kill
six million Jews, nearly committing genocide on the Jewish population. The
corruption increased, with Hitler?s desired to expand Nazi Germany. In addition, the
dictatorship and corruption caused by power is also expressed in fictional stories.
Power corrupting individuals also applies to literature and fictional novels. One
example of power causing corruption is found in a novel called Animal Farm by
George Orwell. Animal Farm is a story about animals ruled and dictated by humans.
Eventually, the animals overthrow their human dictator, Mr. Jones, and try to form
their own government. After a pig named Napoleon was declared leader, he gained
power which caused him to become corrupted. Napoleon dictated the animals and the
entire farm throughout the novel. Napoleon considering himself as powerful as God
is an example of Napoleon?s level of corruption. One loyal and
22. Amory Lovins’ Logic in Natural Capitalism Essay
Amory Lovins Logic in Natural Capitalism
In the first chapter of Natural Capitalism, author Amory Lovins proposes a new
method of capitalism that recognizes the importance of natural and human capital in
the industrial system. Conventional capitalism places value only on capital that
yields financial gain, and ignores the human and natural parts of the equation. Lovins
points to this as the reason for many of the environmental, social, and economic
problems on our planet today. He argues that the destructive practices of conventional
capitalism must cease, and that a new industrial revolution must happen that will
change how human beings support themselves and sustain the resources of the planet.
In this chapter he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lovins contrast of sustainable methods versus destructive methods convinces the
readers to agree with his claim and follow his proposed changes.
He discusses four key strategies for implementing natural capitalism; radical resource
productivity, biomimicry, service and flow economy, and investing in natural capital.
Radical resource productivity involves finding every way possible to increase the
usage that humans get from natural resources. This lowers the cost of materials and
decreases the amount of pollution due to wasteful consumption of resources.
Biomimicry is the term given for modeling the mechanical processes of our industries
after the self sustaining and interdependent processes found in nature. Such a
transformation would make factories more efficient and less polluting. Creating a
service and flow economy means that consumers would pay for the service a product
provides instead of buying the product itself. Instead of throwing away worn out
products, consumers can just return them to the manufacturer, who will repair them
or recycle them. Investing in natural capital means that corporations value living
systems. In this sort of system, logging companies would value not only the lumber
that they harvest, but the forest habitat where the trees came from as well. This gives
companies motivation to not strip a forest bare because they now profit from a
thriving forest habitat. This Lovins calls these points the basis of
23. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Density Forecasts
The density forecast of a random variable is an estimation based on the past
observed data. This is a symmetric interval prediction which means that the outcomes
will fall into an interval that is a band of plus/minus a fixed times of standard errors.
The estimation provides a probability distribution of all possible future values of that
variable. Over the past decades, the price density forecast has been widely used to
study microeconomic and financial issues. Forecasting the future development of the
economy is of great importance for proper government monetary decisions and
individual risk management. A good macroeconomic density forecast presents a
subjective description of inflationary pressure and other information related to

25. The Placement Of Product Warehouses
Placement of Product Warehouses
The placement of product warehouses has become a key instrumental feature in today
s world of logistics. The placement of product warehouses does not only play a
significant role in safeguarding the product before it reaches its final destination, but
with the right location strategy the product will arrive at its destination in on a timely
manner; satisfying both the retailer and consumer. Together with a well organized
strategy, retailers, suppliers, and manufactures can benefit greatly by the placement
of product warehouses in terms of generating long term capital. As previously stated
the key to placement of product warehouses is having a strategy that fits the
organization s needs. A strategy will be composed of the following factors location,
efficiency, inventory, and the use of advanced technologies. Determining the location
involves taking in consideration of the product, travel time, and cost of labor to
restock the warehouse. A good example of this is Amazon and Walmart both of these
retailers have revolutionized the placement of product warehouses suitable their
products and consumers; in order to maximize their profit while maintaining their
market share. In 2005, Walmart made drastic changes in order to manage their
300,000 stock keeping units (SKUs), by opening 40 high velocity cross dock
distribution centers solely for the purpose of accommodate their perishable deliveries

26. Essay on Racism in Invisible Man
Racism is perceived as a very negative aspect of society. When most people think of
racism, they see hatred, evil, and ignorance. It has always been around since history
has been recorded, and probably before that. There are many different forms of
racism, but when one thinks of racism in America, they most certainly think of the
struggles that the African Americans have faced for hundreds of years. American
literature has been noted for its sometimes controversial, but outspokenness of issues
faced by people and minorities. Ralph Ellison is considered one of these authors
after his novel Invisible Man. It was published in 1953, before the Civil Rights
Movement really got strong. Ellison confronts the various forms of racismin this

The man says something that the narrator does not like and tries to force an
apology out of the man. This is what initiates the first part of racism and the
thought of being invisible in the novel. The narrator endures the different types of
racism through the different places he visits. Everyone expects something
different of him and other African Americans. This is how he tries finding his
inner self and it just confuses him more because everyone wants something
different. Another example of this is when the narrator is working for Liberty
Paints in New York. The work force is primarily blacks, but the final product is
white. This is ironic because their slogan is If it s Optic White, it s the Right
White. There is also a sign outside of the building that reads Keep America pure
with Liberty Paints. This is a form of racism in itself because they only produce
white paint, and they say that they are keeping America pure. Our white is so
white you can paint a chunka coal and you d have to crack it open with a sledge
hammer to prove it wasn t white clear through (Ellison 217). This is said by Lucius
Brockway, an engineer at Liberty Paints. This can be seen as an extended metaphor
between the paint making process that requires a black chemical to be added, and the
whites vs. blacks at the company itself. The company seems to have primarily black
workers producing the paint, but this quote goes to show that white is overpowering
and that
27. The Supreme Court Essay
The foundation of the Supreme Court began with the earliest articles of the
constitution. More specifically, Section II of Article III dictated that The judicial
Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution,
the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their
Authority... (National Archives). This language laid out the legal precedent for
which the Supreme Court could be built. Due to the intentionally vague nature, the
founding fathers intended for the first Congressional Contingent to build the
workings of the court. Inspirations for such a Federal legal system arose from
several sources. Chiefly among these sources was British Common Law and the
Magna Carta. The first Congress built the Supreme Court in its original form of six
judges, and from there, the court evolved in the early 19th century and exerted its
influence on the development of the United States of America. The founding fathers
who helped to develop the rationale of the Constitution outlined the section on the
Supreme Court with a certain sense of delicacy. In this way, the language they used
didn t developed a framework for the Supreme Court. There were several reasons for
this tepid action. Firstly, the concept of an independent non partisan judiciary system,
in the mind of the American citizenry, was too reminiscent of British Royal Rule. The
United States was fresh off an intellectual and physical battle with a perceived

Amsterdam there are many small cafes with more variety than just Starbucks that

chocolate especially during the cold winter months. She explained that especially
after ice skating on the Grachten (the water canals in Amsterdam) a warme choco is

What is your rape fantasy?
Rape fantasies illustrates the misconceptions pop culture taught society and women
about rape through the reoccurring irony and vulnerability theme. Throughout the
story, the narrator named Estelle speaks in first person with her coworkers as they
share their sexual fantasies. The excerpt conversation begins with Chrissy when she
asks, What are your rape fantasies? To put the word rape and fantasy in the same

His career as an artist mainly started in 1951, he usually painted cowboys and
Indians in various modern art styles. In 1957 he tried his hand at Abstract

This all began with a painting he made of Mickey Mouse in 1960 for his children.
By 1961 Lichtenstein was completely dedicated to the making of art from mass
produced, merchandising images. His comic strip paintings, such as Good

hand, with the same technique of benday dots and bright primary colors used in
printing. This result was a blend of commercial art and abstraction. He tried to use
brilliant colors outlined in black to emphasis the visual impact. These painting made
him famous and the first one man show of his comic strip paintings was in New

phenomenal. He has the distinction of being the first American artist to have an
exhibition at London s Tate Gallery. Lichtenstein continued in this area for a while,
taking subjects from sentimental
Romance magazines. He enclosed speeches in balloons and made landscapes in the
Comic book style. He also dabbled in making statues during this time, which

The Man of Steel On his talk show Paul Harvey had one famous speech So God
made a Farmer. In the speech he describes a farmer as firm but caring, He says, . . .
It had to be somebody who d plow deep and straight and not cut corners; somebody
to seed, weed, feed, breed and rake and disc and plow...So God made a Farmer.
John Deere has helped farmers accomplished many of those things he listed
seeding, weeding, and plowing. Plowing might be last on the list for Paul Harvey,
but it is the first accomplishment of John Deere which turned into to a big and
outstanding company. John Deere created the first steel plow in a little blacksmith
shop in Illinois. Farmers had a great deal of problems when it came to plowing.
The plow would try to get through the dark and rich dirt. Then in a matter of
moments, the plow would be full of dirt that farmers would have to quit plowing
and scrape off the dirt (OH, DEERE). The black soil is what caused the plow to get
full of wet dense dirt which that called Gumbo (John Deere, That s Who). John
Deere decided he wants to enhance the plow (OH, DEERE). John Deere fiddled with
the steel blades off of a sawmill, he thought that the curved and shiny might go

tourism causes Mexicans to stray away from their culture and to slowly assimilate to

goals, I would indeed feel as fulfilled. As I continued my inward journey, I
devoured the subsequent chapters where I felt continued to be reassured. Fanatic
Discipline is described by Collins consistency with regard to values, long term
goals, performance standards and consistency over time. He goes on to remind us
that regimentation is not the same as discipline and to a 10Xer the only discipline

independent nation. Summary The American revolutionary era began in 1763, after
a series of victories by British forces at the conclusion of the French and Indian War
(also, Seven Years War) ended the French military threat to British North American
colonies. Adopting the policy that the colonies should pay a larger proportion of the

Republicanism A motivating force behind the revolution was the American embrace
of a political ideology called republicanism , which was dominant in the colonies by
1775. The republicanism was inspired by the country party in Britain, whose critique
of British government emphasized that corruption was a terrible reality in Britain.[8]
Americans feared the corruption was crossing the Atlantic; the commitment of most
Americans to republican values and to their rights, energized the revolution, as
Britain was increasingly seen as hopelessly corrupt and hostile to American interests.
Britain seemed to threaten the established liberties that Americans enjoyed.[9] The
greatest threat to liberty was depicted as corruption not just in London but at home as
well. The colonists associated it with luxury and, especially, inherited aristocracy,
which they condemned.[10] The Founding Fathers were strong advocates of
republican values, particularly Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, John Adams, Benjamin
Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, George Washington, James Madison and
Alexander Hamilton,[11] which required men to put civic duty ahead of their
personal desires. Men had a civic duty to be prepared and willing to
