Advertising And Gloria Steinem s Sex, Lies, And Advertising
Advertisements are intended to make their audience feel remarkable if and only if they purchase what
is being publicized. In 2005, Dove launched a Real Beauty campaign in an effort to reassure women
of their physical beauty. The campaign featured women of all different shapes and sizes to connect
with each body type. However, this campaign would not be advantageous to both the consumers and
advertisers if the advertisers did not get their fair share. Gloria Steinem, author of Sex, Lies, and
Advertising, is strongly challenged by Dove s campaign by exemplifying how Ms., a magazine that
Gloria was co founder of, eliminated advertisements in order to maintain journalistic integrity.
However, Jennifer L. Pozner, author of Dove s Real Beauty Backlash, utterly supports Dove s Real
Beauty campaign by concurring with Dove s powerful message of confidence. Despite their opposing
views on advertisements, both women share a common ground: Advocating the empowerment of
women.
Browsing through a magazine, one finds oneself looking at nothing but ads. Not in Ms., a feminist
magazine conducted by one of the best known icons of the women s movement, Gloria Steinem.
Steinem worked whole heartedly in order to portray opposition towards advertisement. She vindicates
her opposition by claiming that, In any case, we do know it s the advertisers who are determining what
women are getting now (Steinem 199). Steinem highlights how advertisers have taken over magazines
entirely. They

American Born Chinese Character Analysis
In the graphic novel American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang, illustrates many struggles that Jin
Wang faces as a Chinese American. The graphic novel shows how Jin struggles with his cultural
identity based on looking Chinese. When Jin first arrived to Mayflower Elementary School from San
Francisco the teacher immediately assumed that his name was Jin Jang and that he has came from
China he didn t feel like an American. She also agreed with one of the classmate that claimed that
Chinese people eat dogs and her response was that they no longer ate dogs over here in the U.S. Not
only did they assume that but they also believed that he would marry Suzy just because she was Asian.

Jin transformed himself into Danny, a White American to be able to finally fit in. Jin went from having
a yellow skin tone and black straight hair and eyes to having white skin and blonde hair with green
eyes. However, as much as Jin finally became Danny he still wasn t able to fit in. For instance, the girl
he had a crush on didn t want to be with him based on his buck tooth also because his cousin was
Chinese. It just shows hard he tried to fit in that it was actually for him to just accept the way he is.
Even though, Danny is an American he still wasn t able to be happy with who he was because
everything would go downward. For instance, he still didn t fit in and wasn t liked by Amelia but
when he was himself the other did actually liked him and gave him a chance. He also ruined his
friendship with his best friend. Jin was better off as an Asian American as he was more himself. Jin
realized that it he was actually better of as Jin then as Danny as he had a true friend and he could

Common Core State Standards Act
Common Core State Standards Common Core State Standards is being heard throughout the education
world. Many cringe when the words are spoken and many fight to support what the words stand for.
Common Core was introduced in 2009 by state leaders. Common Core State Standards were
developed to prepare children for the business world or the reality after grade school. The Common
Core is a set of high quality academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy,
also known as ELA (About the Standards, n.d.). The goals for the standards outline what students
should know before leaving his or her current grade level. The standards were created to ensure that
all students graduate from high school with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college,
career, and life, regardless of where they live (About the Standards, n.d.). This is an ambitious goal,
but with much support can be accomplished. According to Common Core State Standards Initiative
(n.d.) The Common Core has been adopted by forty two states already and is accompanied by District
of Columbia and Department of Defense Education Activity. Common Core was developed to
improve the academics in society s schools. Academics in the past years have not been successful and
the United States has fallen behind international education. One root cause has been an uneven
patchwork of academic standards that vary from state to state and do not agree on what students
should know and be able to do at each

Burj Khalifa And The Tallest Building
Burj Khalifa
Intro
The future has met the present in the Burj Khalifa, which stands today as the tallest building ever
built, standing at around 830 metres (2,700 ft) tall. From the top of the Burj Khalifa s 160 floors, one
can see a circumference distance of about 855 kilometres (550 miles). When compared, the highest
observational deck of the Empire State Building in New York City, once the tallest building in the
world, developed a circumferential view of about 320 km. The 460,000 square meter structure
contains residential, hotel, commercial, office, entertainment, shopping, leisure, and parking facilities.
With accurate and sophisticated panning, engineers construct and built this larger than life structure in
a really short time involving some of the latest construction methods of this era. The concepts used for
the Burj Khalifa s foundation construction, overall structural design, wind engineering, and
construction planning have revolutionised high rise construction.
The goal of the Burj Khalifa is not to be the world s highest building, it s to express the world s
highest aspirations. The superstructure has reached over 165 stories. the final height of the building is
2,717 feet (828 metres). The height of the multi use skyscraper has comfortably exceed the previous
record holder, the 509 metre (1671 ft) tall Taipei 101.

The Effectiveness of Octavian in Enlisting Senatorial...
The Effectiveness of Octavian in Enlisting Senatorial Support for his New Administration in the
Period 30 to 19 BC.
Octavian was the son of Gaius Octavius, a senator, but was the adopted son of Julius Caesar.
Essentially Octavian, or Augustus as he became known as in 27BC, was a conservative republican.
This is shown by Res Gestae Divi Augusti (literally the achievements of the Divine August )
paragraph 8: I brought back into use many exemplary practises of our ancestors which were
disappearing in our time. And also by Suetonius The Twelve Caesars, Augustus, chapter 93: Augustus
showed great respect to all ancient and long established foreign rites. The Republican system was
based on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However Octavian did not realise this at first and he illegally created himself consul: At the age of 19
he created himself consul, marched on Romeas if it were an enemy city ... to demand that the
appointment [of consul] should be confirmed. When the Senate hesitated to obey ... a centurion ...
displayed the hilt of his sword and boldly said If you do not make him consul, this will! (Suetonius
26). But how were these aims to fit into the fact that Octavian wanted to remain in power, and not be
too obvious about this fact?
Following the death of Julius Caesar, on the 27th of November in 43BC Titius, a tribune passed the
lex titia in the tribunal assembly. This was a law appointing Anthony, Lepidus and Octavian triumvirs
for 5 years, but this time could be lengthened. This was the technique of a populares, rather than being
passed by the Senate and being Optimates. The Triumvirs were clever in the fact that they did not
advertise the unconstitutional position of dictator. The leader of the three men to rule was Antony a
leading Caesarean and so therefore a populares. The constitutional position stood against the ideals of
the Roman Republic and therefore brought an end to the Roman Republic. This was unacceptable
from the point of view of a conservative republican senator. They immediately set to work getting

Testing For Plant Samples And Begin Procedure
Hisssss! The tram slid to a stop, hovering slightly above the track.
Welcome to Station 7. An electronic voice said over the intercom. Enjoy your stay in Nia.
Nicholas Pierce looked up from his tablet and grabbed his brief case from the seat beside him.
Actively avoided eye contact with anyone, he shuffled out into the open square. The light from the
giant solar lamps attached to the ceiling of the cave high above caused him to wince and look down
into his tablet once again.
It was already eight o clock. The trams seemed to be getting later and later every day. Checking his
email, Nicholas once again read over his project schedule.

No, and I don t expect they will any time soon. The guys in Division 3 say that we re just being lazy
with protocol or some other excuse so they can continue working on their damn super serum.
Come on now Nick. We all know the effect this new fertilizer method would have. It would be huge.
Might even solve the food problems entirely. Besides, they have already shown some conclusive
growth in their preliminary tests. Anthony responded enthusiastically.
Yeah, preliminary tests that I m sure they fudged the data on. But it doesn t even matter. We ll have the
official data by tomorrow and then perhaps the higher ups will cancel the project. Nicholas retorted as
he stepped off the elevator and opened the door to his lab immediately on the left. Nicholas shut the
door without saying goodbye to Anthony. They often arrived at the same time, and Nicholas found
Anthony s attitude towards Division 3 to be too hopeful.
Nia Bio Tech had eight divisions total (evidently mimicking the eight colonies) each with its own
goals and purpose. Division 1 dealt with artificial materials, Division 2 and 3 were each experimental
food supplies divisions, with 2 being lab oriented and 3 being design oriented, and Divisions 4 7 each
worked with different organisms that lived in the cave systems around the colonies or could be created
to live in them. Division 8 was administration.

Bullying In Workplace
This paper addresses, the issues with bullying in the workplace. It goes into detail about what bullying
is, how it affects the workplace, a company that has had issues with bullying, and finally what a
company can do to make sure does not occur.
Bullying
In this paper, I will address the issue of bullying in the workplace. I will define bullying, how bullying
affects their workers, also address a company that has had issues with bullying, finally what steps a
company can take to make sure their employees have a bully free workplace.
Bullying
Bullying can be found in any job. Bullying is a malicious attack on a person, it can include name
calling, gossiping about someone, or maybe even false work reports. It can be so extreme that it can
stress an employee out to the point that can become physically or mentally ill (Ehrenkranz, 2016).
Bullying can come from anyone within a company from a co worker, to a member of management.
How it affects the workplace
Bullying can affect employees in many ways it can cause depression which could lead to even more
serious issues such as suicidal thoughts and actions, job performance can decrease, and productivity
can even decrease due to the co workers not being able to work ... Show more content on

Disney Misogyny
In Disney films, there is a lot of misogyny amongst female main characters. Many people in our
society have noticed a significant difference in the speaking roles between male and female characters
that Disney created, as men had way more lines than the women. Because these movies were mostly
created in the mid late 1900 s, this was the time that there was plenty of prejudice against females.
Now, in the year 2017, females are getting a little more equality than before to the point where many
females now have jobs that were only for males in the 1900 s. Most Disney movies for that matter
involve some sort of misogyny, even the ones that recently came out such as Brave and Frozen .
Examples of various levels of misogyny can be noticed in Disney films such as Ariel in The Little
Mermaid (1989), directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. The movie is about a 16 year old
mermaid who wants to live on land with a human Prince named Eric but is only able to after making a
dangerous wish with Ursula the Sea Witch to be a human for three days. In this movie Ariel The
Mermaid , prejudice can be seen in Ursula, by a female having too much authority, Ariel cannot speak,
and Ariel uses her appearance to attract others.
Firstly, Ursula the Sea Witch can be seen with a ton of power. The power turns Ursula evil and
manipulative, which shows that females that have too much power should be removed from society,
just like Ursula. ...And now, look at me wasted away to practically

spreads are commissions to dealers. dealers are called a specialist (one security, one dealer) in major
exchange markets [specialists only sometimes act as a dealer, but primary job is to execute limit
orders that investors submit. some trades are executed inside the quoted ask and bid prices; this occurs
when two brokers agree on a price without the specialist directly involved.], or market makers (one

brokers have lowered the commission rate and partly profit from paying for order flow (the practice
stating that brokers may be compensated by specific dealers by directing orders to these dealers).

Stigmatization Of Mental Illnesses Essay
A stigma is a distinguishing mark, establishing a border between a stigmatized person and others
attributing negative characteristics to this person. (Baumann, 2007) There are many different factors
that take part in the stigmatization of mental illnesses, however the greatest contributor is the social
distance that is created within society between individuals with a mental illness and those without.
There are two mind sets that can increase a person s willingness to socially distance themselves from
the mentally ill. The first mindset is that mentally ill individuals are different and therefore should be
separated. The second mindset is that mentally ill individuals are perceived as violent and this creates
a need for separation with regards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Feldman and Crandall, 2007) Society has a want to protect themselves from anything they see as a
dangerous. The common idea that people that have a mental illness are dangerous is creating a
division in the world. Although the ideas may be false it is very difficult to change a popular opinion.
Since the 1950 s American s have increased the belief that mental illnesses cause the mentally ill to
become violent. (Feldman and Crandall, 2007) To change these popular beliefs and reduce the
stigmatization around mental illness it is necessary to bring more awareness to all mental illnesses.
The social distancing disconnects people and does not allow for society to see how a mental illness
affects an individual. The false popular opinions are all that people really know about mental illnesses.
People suffering from mental illnesses are isolated and viewed as strangers in society. They are
viewed as dangerous or aggressive, which increases the likelihood of being discriminated against.
These two factors will lead to social distancing, which is the greatest contributor of the stigmatization
of mental illness. Without creating awareness of mental illnesses, the stigmatization is likely to remain
the same and there will always be a separation between those with a mental illness and those

Lego s Creative Toy Line
Introduction
The company LEGO officially began in 1932 in Denmark by the skilled hands of the carpenter Ole
Kirk Christiansen, with the help of his son Godtfred, when he was only 12 years old. They started
manufacturing small handmade wooden toys such as cars, trucks, ducklings and piggy banks, to
fortify the family during the depression period. Their best seller where the LEGO bricks. In the studio
where the toys were made, the phrase, Only The Best is Good Enough was painted on the wall. This
vision is utilized until the present day to set the company as quality is of extreme importance to the
brand.
The company expanded rapidly. By 1992, Lego had become one of the top ten global toy
manufacturers. LEGO s creative toy line had become a success worldwide. However, with the
appearance of video games and the failed initial attempt to enter this market, along with competition
from other manufacturers, the Danish company was placed in a difficult situation at the beginning of
the century, leading to immense monetary losses. In order to stop losses, LEGO took measures such
as: shifting part of its production to the Czech Republic and a drastic reduction of its workforce.
Lego case for change
The case for LEGO s change in strategy was due to the decline in profit and growth. The company
was not up to date with the consumer and market trends. They did not have prepare for future
scenarios or have a contingency plan, thus they were very unprepared for the changes in the toy

The Tragedy Of Siddhartha s Life
Siddhartha s protected environment could no longer satisfy him when he discovered the unfortunate
truths of every person s life. Occasionally, the prince would leave the palace to take trips into the city.
His father, wanting to shelter him, would orchestrate these trips to avoid the unpleasantries of life. The
story goes that four sights led Siddartha to leave his established life. He experienced these sights on
outings he was taken on by his charioteer named Chandaka. Even though care was taken to hide these
things the prince saw old age, disease, and death that drastically changed his view of the world. On a
fourth outing, he saw a holy man and a practicing ascetic. This is when he first perceived these
realities of human life. He suddenly became aware of the causes of suffering in the world. This
encounter showed him, what he thought was the way to overcome life s sufferings, the ascetic path. At
the age of twenty nine he left his wife, his son, and his palace behind to lead a life of extreme
asceticism that he believed could lead him to the answer of overcoming human suffering. For six years
Siddhartha Gautama followed asceticism and meditation. He practiced the yoga discipline under two
masters, Arada Kalama, and Udraka Ramaputra. Not finding the answers under his two teachers he
left to engage in extreme asceticism and was joined by five others; Ashvajit, Vashpa, Bhadrika,
Mahanaman, and Kaundinya. These men became followers of Siddhartha. After six years, he

Persuasive Essay On Early Voting
When you think of America, what do you think of? Most people probably imagine an American Flag,
maybe some are thinking of their home, but one thing that will not be far from everyone s mind when
they think of America, is democracy. Democracy is one of the foundations of our country, and is one
of the thousands of things that make America a free nation. Although America prides itself on
freedom, specifically freedom of expression, only about half of our citizens are taking part in their
civic duty. There are many reasons for this, some that are unsolvable, but as a nation, we must do
better to make voting more readily available for all citizens. One way to do this, is to allow early
voting. Currently, 37 states allow some form of early voting, but Pennsylvania is not one of them
(STATE LAWS GOVERNING EARLY VOTING.) I m proposing for the Pennsylvania State
Government to take action, and allow early voting for the sake of their people.

Should Blacks have to give up their civil rights, political power and the choice of higher education for
the younger generations just to survive in a White dominated society? Should Black America have to
pay such a high cost to be accepted only to be viewed as the inferior race? Blacks had to take the
backseat in society for many years. Some were probably pressured and some just plain settled. The
feeling of not having a choice and taking the better option was of no benefit to the blacks. What was
considered to be the best decision only proved to be the worse decision that black America could ever
make. The writing Of Booker T. Washington and Others highlighted the views W. E. B. Du Bois and
Booker T. Washington had for Black ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why let all those efforts go in vain? But this is exactly what Mr. Washington wanted to the Blacks to
do. This was the strategy he felt would help Blacks get to where they strived to be. Mr. Du Bois he too
was an advocate for economical success for black but not at the price of giving up your rights as a
citizen. He felt blacks could be successful as well as educated. He felt blacks should not have to take
the low road of inferiority to achieve financial solidity.
Due to the amount of opposition Blacks faced giving up a few rights to take the spotlight off of them
seemed like a fair trade that the majority of the people accepted. Du Bois stated, As a result of this
tender of the palm branch, what has been the return? In these years there have occurred: 1. The
disfranchisement of the Negro. 2. The legal creation of distinct status of civil inferiority for the Negro.
3. The steady withdrawal of aid from institutions for the higher training of the Negro. (Du Bois).
This created a well defined line of segregation. And this time it seems as though Blacks unknowingly
did it to themselves under the direction of Booker T. Washington. The division was not entirely
because of Mr. Washington but his suggestions did help aid in the separation. There were already civil
issues between Blacks and Whites and this was a definite setback. The aftermath resulted in a broken
Black America. Black America needed to know there was hope. Mr. Du Bois

Mooncakes In Asian American Culture
After generations, mooncakes came to hold a slightly different meaning to the Chinese in America, but
nevertheless, the traditional pastries are valued as a piece of their Chinese culture as they continued to
clash with those in America. Asian American have slowly lightened their adherence to the traditional
versions as their choice of mooncakes and for many, having mooncakes just became a formality
during the Mid Autumn Festival. Even though mooncakes do not hold the same values as those in
China, mooncakes are still nonetheless deemed important especially when they came under attack by
American culture in 2007. Asian Americans in California came into conflict with the state s health

The mooncake industry has a surprising back story regarding its packaging as it makes billions of
dollars each year. In a research done by Sohu Business, it was found that while only 20% of the costs
go towards making the actual mooncakes, China spends about $122 billion dollars on the production
of mooncakes as a whole annually, with the value of packaging materials reaching upwards of $45
billion dollars in 2009. The large amount of money spent by the Chinese reflects the continued
importance of the pastries in more recent years. Also, by 2009, China s packaging material waste
accounted for a third of the country s solid waste (Sohu Business). Even though the amount of waste
created from the packaging of mooncakes is an incredibly large amount, it is a result of mooncake
industry continuing their efforts in keeping the popular pastries a billion dollar

My First Experience On The Zip Line In Las Vegas
I like to do adventurous things, and one of the things that I did was ziplining. I did it twice but in two
different locations. I had a fantastic time on both of these rides, both of them are reasonably priced,
and on each one I was scared, but that is where the similarities end. My first experience on a zip line
was in Ocean City, Maryland whereas the second time was in Las Vegas. The zip line in Maryland was
only 60 feet high; the one in Vegas was as tall as a skyscraper standing at 114 feet. The zip line in
Maryland was at an amusement park, has four landing stations and in total was about 1,000 feet.
While I was up 60 feet in the air, I was able to see all of the rides around me. In Vegas, the zip line
was on the street and had a length

Selective Encryption Algorithm for Highly Confidential...
1. Introduction
Conventional cryptographic algorithms, which are generally aimed at encrypting like text data (known
as Naïve approach) not well suited for video encryption. This is due to the fact that conventional
cryptographic algorithms cannot process the large volume of video data in real time. Selective
encryption of the H.264/AVC bitstream puts decoder to fully decode the encrypted video with
degradation in video quality. This perceptual encryption has low encryption and decryption time. The
video data are compressed to reduce the storage space required and to save bandwidth for
transmission. Video compression removes redundancy, so that it is difficult to guess about a portion of
a compressed bitstream to another. In addition, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From an attacker s point of view, brute force attack may break the encryption of sign bit and
level_suffix of the same length. Intra prediction mode has only nine different values (0 8). Hence, the
encryption of intra prediction mode also has the threat of brute force attack. So, the values of
level_suffix with sign bits are encrypted with a higher length of bitstream (6 bits for luma and 4 bits
for chroma), to reduce the threat of brute force attack. However, this affects the compression
bandwidth.
We have also analyzed that without making motion vectors encryption, we can t obtain temporal
redundancy. Motion vector encryptions are proposed by several authors [4 9]. However, analysis
shown in this paper said that 45 50% of motion vectors for each frame are not encrypted. Thus, a
better encryption method is proposed at here in expense with compression bandwidth. Overall, we
should create the balance between security and the increase in compression bandwidth.
Four selective encryption methods are discussed here. A First method named NZs in CAVLC encrypts
level_suffix values with sign bits of up to three lowest frequency non zero DCT coefficients in
CAVLC encoding for all macroblocks. Second method named NZs in CAVLC for I only , which is
same as the first method but encryption is done only in intra coded macroblocks. Third method named

Compare And Contrast Communism And Communism
Ideologies create wars.
Throughout history there have been dozens and dozens of systems of government created to achieve
what some would call The Perfect Society . Because everyone has a different idea of this perfect
society, nations have collapsed and there have been millions killed. Government is the most important
entity in a citizen s life. Why? Because government controls people; every single aspect of their lives
and all of their freedoms. The two most talked about and contrasted systems are Communism and
Capitalism. They have been compared and contrasted on multiple fronts as to why they do or do not
work, and which one is more effective. Capitalism and Communism are two forms of government that
have very different and clashing views on the world, their main differences are about economic
equality, the government s philosophy, and the government s role in its citizens lives.
Karl Marx turned the world on its head when he published his world famous communist book,
Communist Manifesto. Until the release of his book much of the world s governments were laid back,
individuals owned private property, business, and the profits that came from them. Marx however was
furious at the large gap between the rich and the poor, Thus, he created the theory of Communism. In
his book he states the core beliefs of Communism; that there is an uneven distribution of wealth in the
capitalist world, therefore if the government owned all privately owned assets of its citizens and re

Paganism Vs Vegetarianism
Imagine if the apocalypse happened and the only viable food was the family dog, would it be immoral
to eat the dog to survive? What if instead of a dog, it was the family s pig? The majority of American
people would believe it s more morally justified to eat the pig than the dog which reduces the pig to a
mere piece of bacon. The United States is a profit driven country which is reflected by their
mistreatment of farm animals and can be seen by its peoples anthropocentric and hypocritical views.

This comes to show that the support for veganism and vegetarianism is an ecological, ethical, or
health concern issue, Nearly all plant eaters have fermenting vats (enlarged chambers where foods sits
and microbes attack it). Ruminants like cattle and deer have forward sacs derived from remodeled
esophagus and stomach. Horses, rhinos, and colobine monkeys have posterior, hindgut sacs. Humans
have no such specializations.. The short canines in humans are a functional consequence of the
enlarged cranium and associated reduction of the size of the jaws. In archeological sites, broken
human molars are most often confused with broken premolars and molars of pigs, a classic omnivore
(VRG). Although there is evidence to back up humans being omnivores, is it morally justified for
humans to eat meat when survival is not a threat? If one s morals say no, there s many diets that exist
that don t include animals. A vegan diet consists of not consuming any animal products. Humans
choose this diet for many reasons, but one of the main reasons is to cut down on animal cruelty.
Jonathan Safran Foer talks about the morality of harming animals for food in his book Eating Animals,
What our babysitter said made sense to me, not only because it seemed true, but because it was the
extension to food of everything my parents had taught me. We don t hurt family members. We don t
hurt friends or strangers. We don t even hurt upholstered furniture. My not having thought to include
animals in that list didn t make them the exceptions to it. It just made me a child, ignorant of the world
s workings (Foer). This portrays how humans have a hierarchy of what is acceptable and what is not.
One s treatment of animals comes from this cultural hierarchy. In different cultures, the hierarchy will

1984 Analysis Essay
History and 1984
War is peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is strength. In George Orwell s 1984, a light is shining on
the concept of a negative utopia, or dystopia caused by totalitarianism. Totalitarianism is, a form of
government in which political authority exercises absolute and centralized control over all aspects of
life and any opposing political and/or cultural expressions are suppressed. Having lived in a time of
totalitarianism regime, Orwell had a firsthand account of its horrific lengths and negative affects.
Within 1984, Orwell derives aspects of the actual government of his time to create, The Party , Big

Stalin use this concept in the 30 s for the same reason as the party; to make the people believe the
government was legitimate. Another aspect of Orwell s prophetic novel is the thought of technology.
During the time that Orwell wrote 1984, the radio was more comment than the television and
computers had not even been considered. Nonetheless, Orwell found a way to include these things in
his story. The tele screen could be related to the modern TV. Also, in the book, the control of
machinery and sources of information are controlled by computers. Orwell uses technology in this
book to
show that these things that were made to help man, can lead to the corruptness and downfall of
society, much like what is being seen today. Living in a world that continues to make advancements
technologically and politically, a book written more than 50 years ago still warns the world of what
could happen if government becomes too forceful. Because of George Orwell s strong hatred for
totalitarianism and its life dictating qualities, readers can get a taste of the perfect dystopia . Though
the people of today have been warned and are afraid of an all controlling government, they continue to
allow the concept of 1984 to become more and more real. If people continue to just watch their
governments make decisions and not ask questions, they will fall victim to its power. If a man not of
this time understands the terror of totalitarianism, everyone should

The Limited Liability Partnership ( Llp )
The limited liability partnership (LLP) is another type of partnership. LLP is a partnership consisting
of one or more general partners and one or more limited partners (p. 554). It was created to limit the
personal liability of the partners of losing their personal assets to only their own acts and omissions
and to the acts and omissions of people under their supervision (Nickels, McHugh, McHugh, 2013, p.
119). This business form also allows a partnership to continue as a pass through entity for tax purposes
(Miller, 2014, p. 554). However, limited liability partnership is not recognized as a legal business
structure in every state, unlike the general partnership, In addition, taxing authorities in some states
recognize the structure of LLP as a nonpartnership for tax purposes due to its special structure (Scott
Media, n.d.). There is also a limited partnership, which has one or more general partners and one or
more limited partners. One partner will be a general partner and has unlimited liability and is active in
managing the firm whereas the limited partner will only invest money in the business but does not
have any management responsibility or liability for losses beyond the investment.
Moreover, corporations are another form of business. A corporation is defined as legal entity formed
in compliance with statutory requirements that is distinct from its shareholder owners (Miller, 2014, p.
555). The advantages of corporations include the shareholders

The war was fought between the Iroquois Confederacy and the French and their Native allies from the
Huron and Algonquin tribes who were from the central Great Lakes area (Ohio Valley). The Iroquois
Confederacy consisted of Native Americans from five different tribes Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga,
Cayuga and Seneca people who were from the eastern part of Great Lakes (New York state). The

annihilated so quickly over beaver pelt and land. In the early 17th century colonies were already

animal pelts for Europeans were a symbol of an excess of wealth, a major problem was the scarcity of
these pelts in Europe due to overhunting. There is nothing like showing off to your friends and family

Did you know, that according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 65.9% of students in America

problems. I believe that college tuition prices should be lowered because they are already way too
high, college dropout rates are linked to financial problems, and the attendance rates are also suffering
due to finances. First of all, the cost to receive a higher education is very expensive. The ACS 1 Year

Prehistory is a discipline where it composed of series of events happened during the time where
writing was not yet used to record those events. The word itself means before history for it is
associated with the prefix pre which means before yet it was really the combination of the Latin word
prae that means before and the Greek word ιστορία which means history. These are the events that
happened in times where in writing was not yet used to record these events. Events are just based on
either being told, predicted or believed by the people from long time ago and evidences of this events

Essay on Brian Friel s Translations
Brian Friel s Translations
Brian Friel s play Translations was the first production of the Field Day Theatre Company in Derry in
1980, which Friel co founded with Stephen Rea. It describes the beginning of the process of
Anglicization in a relatively remote Gaelic speaking area during the 1833 Survey of Ireland, in which
the English mapped Ireland, both culturally and geographically. Years of concerted anglicizing of the
Irish by the British early in the 19th century led to the widespread fall into disuse of the native Gaelic
tongue. National schools teaching exclusively in English began to open during the Survey of Ireland,
and English culture encroached rapidly into Ireland. William Butler Yeats and Douglas Hyde write

Hyde s speech argues that the Irish had by that point indiscriminately adopted all that was English
with little thought as to its value, that the Irish had [ceased] to be Irish without becoming English. 2
He criticizes those Irish who claim to hate British dominance, yet speak only English, anglicize their
Irish names, and remain ignorant of Gaelic literature. His central view is that the Gaelic language is
the most important aspect of an Irish identity distinct to that of the British, and that only a return to
Ireland s native language can halt the process of Anglicization. However, he is careful not to make the
claim that nothing English is of value, but emphasizes the necessity of not neglecting that which is
essentially Irish.
The history of Ireland is one of early scholasticism and rich culture in times when the rest of Europe
had less of a literary and artistic tradition. By the time of Hyde s speech, the nation had become one of
the least studious and most un literary 3 countries of the area, and he claims that the fault lies in a
divergence from the right path. 4 Progressive Anglicization has led the Irish to forget their own culture
and its traditions. The British claim that because the Irish have forgotten much of their language and

In my own family, many of the traditions we continue to celebrate and do would not have been passed
on if it was not for the closeness of our family. My mother can make many native foods from growing
up around her grandmother such as traditional Creek Fry bread; things that I know I will one day pass
on to my children. I can still remember my great grandmother teaching my sister and I how to do
traditional basket weaving, a tradition still taught in classes at the Creek Nation today. Basket weaving
is one of the oldest known Native American crafts and shows the diversity of tribes as the different
styles of basket weaving are still present today (Lollman). If families did not pass on our heritage,
many of our native songs and dances performed at powwows would not be around to see or reenact
today. Ultimately all of the traditions we have today would not be here if it was not for the families
passing their knowledge and memories down.
Another way that many creek families have kept their culture alive is by still having traditional Indian
burials and funerals. I recently had the chance to observe this type of funeral for the first time. From

Takayasus s Arteritis in Northeast Iran
Our aim was to describe the demographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of Takayasu s
arteritis the in northeast of Iran. Introduction: Takayasu s arteritis (TA) is a chronic vasculitis of
unknown etiology. TA affects adolescent girls and young women. It has a worldwide distribution, with
the greatest prevalence in Asians 1 2. A generalized inflammatory syndrome with fever, night sweats,
malaise, anorexia, weight loss, and diffuse myalgia often dominates initial manifestations of TA.
These symptoms are frequently misdiagnosed as infection 3.Takayasu s arteritis primarily affects the
aorta and its primary branches 4. The inflammatory processes cause thickening of the walls of the
affected arteries. The proximal aorta can become dilated due to inflammatory injury. Narrowing,
occlusion, or dilation of the arteries in varying degrees results in a wide variety of symptoms 5.
Involvement of the carotid and vertebral arteries leads to neurologic and ophthalmologic symptoms,
including dizziness, tinnitus, headaches, syncope, stroke, and visual disturbances. Atrophy of facial
muscles and jaw claudication are mostly late manifestations. Occlusions of the brachiocephalic and
subclavian arteries impair blood flow to the upper extremities, presenting as arm claudication,
pulselessness, and discrepant blood pressures. The detection of bruits can be helpful in making the
diagnosis 6. TA is not very rare in Iran 7. We aimed to study the clinical, laboratory characteristics,

Environmental Problems Facing The Earth
Patton, Cade
AP Environmental Science
The biggest environmental problem that faces Earth today is pollution. There are a bunch types of
pollution on planet Earth but by far air pollution is the deadliest. Air pollution can inhibit the breathing
of living organisms. Many major companies including Exxonmobil and Bp who are leading the air
pollution race with a Exxonmobil averaging 39 million tons of emissions. These emissions are
released into the air by the process of making gasoline and chemicals. The second biggest
environmental problem Earth faces each year is the decrease of natural resources. When it comes to
natural resources the depletion of fossil fuels and deforestation are destroying the planet.
Deforestation is the removal of trees in a wide area to the point of where it s almost not a forest
anymore. On the other hand the depletion of fossil fuels is scary because fossil fuels are a
nonrenewable resource. They are nonrenewable because they are being used up faster than they are
being created. And it can take up to millions of years for more fossil fuels to be created. And finally
for my third pick of the biggest environmental problems facing the Earth is the depletion of its Ozone
layer. Some chemicals named Chlorine and bromine are in the atmosphere and are deteriorating the
Ozone layer which consists of three hydrogen atoms.

The reason I decided to choose an Islamic practice for this project was in part because of the recent

some of the differences and similarities in Islamic practices compared to Christian practices as I have

Regarding performativity, the first thing in this ritual that I both observed and had to take part in was
the wearing of the scarf over my head. This could be seen as a costume required by this ritual which
was followed by only the women. There were also specific musical cues spoken that indicated what
position had to be assumed and when. In terms of performativity, this could possibly be referred to as
a performative speech act if the words have the power to change something in the current state. There
was almost a role that was taken on by all the people engaging in the ritual. As soon as they walked in
the room, and even after the ritual was over, there was a sense of solemnness and reverence that
people exhibited while in that space. When it comes to liminality, this whole ritual exhibited a process
that could be categorized under the three stages of liminality; separation, transition and incorporation.
From the very beginning the ritual began with two distinct forms of separation. As we entered the
building we were separating ourselves from society and entering a space in which people of a shared
community came to participate in a ritual. Not only were we separated from society by entering the
building, but we were also separated from the men that were a part of this ritual. Additionally, this
stage of separation was also seen and experienced physically through the process of putting on the
scarf on our heads. This scarf magnified the weight of the separation of sexes because now there was a
tangible marker of what we signified in this process. While the men resided in a larger room, the
women were kept in a much smaller room in the back. The process of transition is a bit harder to

Outline on the Free Will Argument Essay
The Free Will Argument (There is Free Choice) I. Introduction a. Attention Gatherer: Nothing is
completely random, and everything is determined, as the determinist would say, but as humans, there
is such a thing as self determinism. Each action has a cause, it is not random, and it is rational, but it is
also a choice. Each individual can choose to do a multitude of things, and thus the actions are free, and
they are not wholly predictable, but they are not wholly unpredictable either. b. Thesis: Free Will is
Free Choice. c. Summary: i. Premise 1: God knows every choice a person can and will make, because
he is omniscient, but he does not force the individual to make the choice. ii. ... Show more content on

Every action cannot be a cause and effect if there is a choice to change from one belief to another. vi.
Saint Aquinas attempted to explain God as the first mover, and that all things followed after God s
initial cause. But also, It was Adam the first man, who chose to bring sin into the world, God did not
cause that to be, and neither did anything outside of Adam, and therefore it was Adam s self
determinant choice to sin against the laws of God. vii. Premise 3: 4. Adam s decision was made by his
subjective ability to reason. There is no way for a scientist or other being to take apart Adam and
physically analyze Adam s ability to reason. Since choices and reasoning are not at all physical, they
cannot share a physical cause and effect relationship, and have nothing to do with determinist s causal
relationship philosophy. 5. A man takes a woman on a date. At the end of the date, the man gives the
woman a choice as to whether or not she wants him to take her home or to take her back to his home.
The woman will make this choice, and though the prediction of what she will do can be determined
through the physical and outward experiences of the evening, what cannot be seen in the prediction is
the woman s personal reasoning, and even though the evening could have been a horrible one, she
may choose to go home with him in attempt to give the man another chance. III.

  • 2. Advertising And Gloria Steinem s Sex, Lies, And Advertising Advertisements are intended to make their audience feel remarkable if and only if they purchase what is being publicized. In 2005, Dove launched a Real Beauty campaign in an effort to reassure women of their physical beauty. The campaign featured women of all different shapes and sizes to connect with each body type. However, this campaign would not be advantageous to both the consumers and advertisers if the advertisers did not get their fair share. Gloria Steinem, author of Sex, Lies, and Advertising, is strongly challenged by Dove s campaign by exemplifying how Ms., a magazine that Gloria was co founder of, eliminated advertisements in order to maintain journalistic integrity. However, Jennifer L. Pozner, author of Dove s Real Beauty Backlash, utterly supports Dove s Real Beauty campaign by concurring with Dove s powerful message of confidence. Despite their opposing views on advertisements, both women share a common ground: Advocating the empowerment of women. Browsing through a magazine, one finds oneself looking at nothing but ads. Not in Ms., a feminist magazine conducted by one of the best known icons of the women s movement, Gloria Steinem. Steinem worked whole heartedly in order to portray opposition towards advertisement. She vindicates her opposition by claiming that, In any case, we do know it s the advertisers who are determining what women are getting now (Steinem 199). Steinem highlights how advertisers have taken over magazines entirely. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. American Born Chinese Character Analysis In the graphic novel American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang, illustrates many struggles that Jin Wang faces as a Chinese American. The graphic novel shows how Jin struggles with his cultural identity based on looking Chinese. When Jin first arrived to Mayflower Elementary School from San Francisco the teacher immediately assumed that his name was Jin Jang and that he has came from China he didn t feel like an American. She also agreed with one of the classmate that claimed that Chinese people eat dogs and her response was that they no longer ate dogs over here in the U.S. Not only did they assume that but they also believed that he would marry Suzy just because she was Asian. All of the stereotypes that Jin received on his first day of school made him struggle to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jin transformed himself into Danny, a White American to be able to finally fit in. Jin went from having a yellow skin tone and black straight hair and eyes to having white skin and blonde hair with green eyes. However, as much as Jin finally became Danny he still wasn t able to fit in. For instance, the girl he had a crush on didn t want to be with him based on his buck tooth also because his cousin was Chinese. It just shows hard he tried to fit in that it was actually for him to just accept the way he is. Even though, Danny is an American he still wasn t able to be happy with who he was because everything would go downward. • 4. Common Core State Standards Act Common Core State Standards Common Core State Standards is being heard throughout the education world. Many cringe when the words are spoken and many fight to support what the words stand for. Common Core was introduced in 2009 by state leaders. Common Core State Standards were developed to prepare children for the business world or the reality after grade school. The Common Core is a set of high quality academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy, also known as ELA (About the Standards, n.d.). The goals for the standards outline what students should know before leaving his or her current grade level. The standards were created to ensure that all students graduate from high school with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college, career, and life, regardless of where they live (About the Standards, n.d.). This is an ambitious goal, but with much support can be accomplished. According to Common Core State Standards Initiative (n.d.) The Common Core has been adopted by forty two states already and is accompanied by District of Columbia and Department of Defense Education Activity. Common Core was developed to improve the academics in society s schools. Academics in the past years have not been successful and the United States has fallen behind international education. One root cause has been an uneven patchwork of academic standards that vary from state to state and do not agree on what students should know and be able to do at each ... Octavian was the son of Gaius Octavius, a senator, but was the adopted son of Julius Caesar. Essentially Octavian, or Augustus as he became known as in 27BC, was a conservative republican. This is shown by Res Gestae Divi Augusti (literally the achievements of the Divine August ) paragraph 8: I brought back into use many exemplary practises of our ancestors which were disappearing in our time. And also by Suetonius The Twelve Caesars, Augustus, chapter 93: Augustus showed great respect to all ancient and long established foreign rites. The Republican system was based on a ... But how were these aims to fit into the fact that Octavian wanted to remain in power, and not be too obvious about this fact? Following the death of Julius Caesar, on the 27th of November in 43BC Titius, a tribune passed the lex titia in the tribunal assembly. This was a law appointing Anthony, Lepidus and Octavian triumvirs for 5 years, but this time could be lengthened. This was the technique of a populares, rather than being passed by the Senate and being Optimates. The Triumvirs were clever in the fact that they did not advertise the unconstitutional position of dictator. The leader of the three men to rule was Antony a leading Caesarean and so therefore a populares. The constitutional position stood against the ideals of the Roman Republic and therefore brought an end to the Roman Republic. This was unacceptable from the point of view of a conservative republican senator. They immediately set to work getting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Disney Misogyny In Disney films, there is a lot of misogyny amongst female main characters. Many people in our society have noticed a significant difference in the speaking roles between male and female characters that Disney created, as men had way more lines than the women. Because these movies were mostly created in the mid late 1900 s, this was the time that there was plenty of prejudice against females. Now, in the year 2017, females are getting a little more equality than before to the point where many females now have jobs that were only for males in the 1900 s. Most Disney movies for that matter involve some sort of misogyny, even the ones that recently came out such as Brave and Frozen . Examples of various levels of misogyny can be noticed in Disney films such as Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989), directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. The movie is about a 16 year old mermaid who wants to live on land with a human Prince named Eric but is only able to after making a dangerous wish with Ursula the Sea Witch to be a human for three days. In this movie Ariel The Mermaid , prejudice can be seen in Ursula, by a female having too much authority, Ariel cannot speak, and Ariel uses her appearance to attract others. Since the 1950 s American s have increased the belief that mental illnesses cause the mentally ill to become violent. The social distancing disconnects people and does not allow for society to see how a mental illness affects an individual. The false popular opinions are all that people really know about mental illnesses. People suffering from mental illnesses are isolated and viewed as strangers in society. They are viewed as dangerous or aggressive, which increases the likelihood of being discriminated against. The story goes that four sights led Siddartha to leave his established life. He experienced these sights on outings he was taken on by his charioteer named Chandaka. Even though care was taken to hide these things the prince saw old age, disease, and death that drastically changed his view of the world. Most people probably imagine an American Flag, maybe some are thinking of their home, but one thing that will not be far from everyone s mind when they think of America, is democracy. So, the values of level_suffix with sign bits are encrypted with a higher length of bitstream (6 bits for luma and 4 bits for chroma), to reduce the threat of brute force attack. However, this affects the compression bandwidth. We have also analyzed that without making motion vectors encryption, we can t obtain temporal redundancy. Motion vector encryptions are proposed by several authors [4 9]. However, analysis shown in this paper said that 45 50% of motion vectors for each frame are not encrypted. Thus, a better encryption method is proposed at here in expense with compression bandwidth. Overall, we should create the balance between security and the increase in compression bandwidth. Four selective encryption methods are discussed here. A First method named NZs in CAVLC encrypts level_suffix values with sign bits of up to three lowest frequency non zero DCT coefficients in CAVLC encoding for all macroblocks. Second method named NZs in CAVLC for I only , which is same as the first method but encryption is done only in intra coded macroblocks. Third method named MV ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Compare And Contrast Communism And Communism Ideologies create wars. Throughout history there have been dozens and dozens of systems of government created to achieve what some would call The Perfect Society . Because everyone has a different idea of this perfect society, nations have collapsed and there have been millions killed. Government is the most important entity in a citizen s life. Why? Because government controls people; every single aspect of their lives and all of their freedoms. The two most talked about and contrasted systems are Communism and Capitalism. They have been compared and contrasted on multiple fronts as to why they do or do not work, and which one is more effective. Capitalism and Communism are two forms of government that have very different and clashing views on the world, their main differences are about economic equality, the government s philosophy, and the government s role in its citizens lives. Karl Marx turned the world on its head when he published his world famous communist book, Communist Manifesto. Until the release of his book much of the world s governments were laid back, individuals owned private property, business, and the profits that came from them. Marx however was furious at the large gap between the rich and the poor, Thus, he created the theory of Communism. In his book he states the core beliefs of Communism; that there is an uneven distribution of wealth in the capitalist world, therefore if the government owned all privately owned assets of its citizens and re ... What if instead of a dog, it was the family s pig? The majority of American people would believe it s more morally justified to eat the pig than the dog which reduces the pig to a mere piece of bacon. The United States is a profit driven country which is reflected by their mistreatment of farm animals and can be seen by its peoples anthropocentric and hypocritical views. The short canines in humans are a functional consequence of the enlarged cranium and associated reduction of the size of the jaws. In archeological sites, broken human molars are most often confused with broken premolars and molars of pigs, a classic omnivore (VRG). Although there is evidence to back up humans being omnivores, is it morally justified for humans to eat meat when survival is not a threat? If one s morals say no, there s many diets that exist that don t include animals. A vegan diet consists of not consuming any animal products. Humans choose this diet for many reasons, but one of the main reasons is to cut down on animal cruelty. Jonathan Safran Foer talks about the morality of harming animals for food in his book Eating Animals, What our babysitter said made sense to me, not only because it seemed true, but because it was the extension to food of everything my parents had taught me. We don t hurt family members. We don t hurt friends or strangers. We don t even hurt upholstered furniture. My not having thought to include animals in that list didn t make them the exceptions to it. It just made me a child, ignorant of the world s workings (Foer). In George Orwell s 1984, a light is shining on the concept of a negative utopia, or dystopia caused by totalitarianism. Totalitarianism is, a form of government in which political authority exercises absolute and centralized control over all aspects of life and any opposing political and/or cultural expressions are suppressed. Having lived in a time of totalitarianism regime, Orwell had a firsthand account of its horrific lengths and negative affects. Another aspect of Orwell s prophetic novel is the thought of technology. During the time that Orwell wrote 1984, the radio was more comment than the television and computers had not even been considered. Nonetheless, Orwell found a way to include these things in his story. The tele screen could be related to the modern TV. Also, in the book, the control of machinery and sources of information are controlled by computers. Orwell uses technology in this book to show that these things that were made to help man, can lead to the corruptness and downfall of society, much like what is being seen today. Living in a world that continues to make advancements technologically and politically, a book written more than 50 years ago still warns the world of what could happen if government becomes too forceful. Because of George Orwell s strong hatred for totalitarianism and its life dictating qualities, readers can get a taste of the perfect dystopia . Though the people of today have been warned and are afraid of an all controlling government, they continue to allow the concept of 1984 to become more and more real. If people continue to just watch their governments make decisions and not ask questions, they will fall victim to its power. LLP is a partnership consisting of one or more general partners and one or more limited partners (p. 554). It was created to limit the personal liability of the partners of losing their personal assets to only their own acts and omissions and to the acts and omissions of people under their supervision (Nickels, McHugh, McHugh, 2013, p. 119). This business form also allows a partnership to continue as a pass through entity for tax purposes (Miller, 2014, p. 554). However, limited liability partnership is not recognized as a legal business structure in every state, unlike the general partnership, In addition, taxing authorities in some states recognize the structure of LLP as a nonpartnership for tax purposes due to its special structure (Scott Media, n.d.). There is also a limited partnership, which has one or more general partners and one or more limited partners. One partner will be a general partner and has unlimited liability and is active in managing the firm whereas the limited partner will only invest money in the business but does not have any management responsibility or liability for losses beyond the investment. It describes the beginning of the process of Anglicization in a relatively remote Gaelic speaking area during the 1833 Survey of Ireland, in which the English mapped Ireland, both culturally and geographically. Years of concerted anglicizing of the Irish by the British early in the 19th century led to the widespread fall into disuse of the native Gaelic tongue. Hyde s speech argues that the Irish had by that point indiscriminately adopted all that was English with little thought as to its value, that the Irish had [ceased] to be Irish without becoming English. 2 He criticizes those Irish who claim to hate British dominance, yet speak only English, anglicize their Irish names, and remain ignorant of Gaelic literature. His central view is that the Gaelic language is the most important aspect of an Irish identity distinct to that of the British, and that only a return to Ireland s native language can halt the process of Anglicization. However, he is careful not to make the claim that nothing English is of value, but emphasizes the necessity of not neglecting that which is essentially Irish. The history of Ireland is one of early scholasticism and rich culture in times when the rest of Europe had less of a literary and artistic tradition. By the time of Hyde s speech, the nation had become one of the least studious and most un literary 3 countries of the area, and he claims that the fault lies in a divergence from the right path. 4 Progressive Anglicization has led the Irish to forget their own culture and its traditions. Introduction: Takayasu s arteritis (TA) is a chronic vasculitis of unknown etiology. TA affects adolescent girls and young women. It has a worldwide distribution, with the greatest prevalence in Asians 1 2. A generalized inflammatory syndrome with fever, night sweats, malaise, anorexia, weight loss, and diffuse myalgia often dominates initial manifestations of TA. These symptoms are frequently misdiagnosed as infection 3.Takayasu s arteritis primarily affects the aorta and its primary branches 4. The inflammatory processes cause thickening of the walls of the affected arteries. The proximal aorta can become dilated due to inflammatory injury. Narrowing, occlusion, or dilation of the arteries in varying degrees results in a wide variety of symptoms 5. Involvement of the carotid and vertebral arteries leads to neurologic and ophthalmologic symptoms, including dizziness, tinnitus, headaches, syncope, stroke, and visual disturbances. Atrophy of facial muscles and jaw claudication are mostly late manifestations. Occlusions of the brachiocephalic and subclavian arteries impair blood flow to the upper extremities, presenting as arm claudication, pulselessness, and discrepant blood pressures. When it comes to liminality, this whole ritual exhibited a process that could be categorized under the three stages of liminality; separation, transition and incorporation. From the very beginning the ritual began with two distinct forms of separation. Not only were we separated from society by entering the building, but we were also separated from the men that were a part of this ritual. Additionally, this stage of separation was also seen and experienced physically through the process of putting on the scarf on our heads. This scarf magnified the weight of the separation of sexes because now there was a tangible marker of what we signified in this process. While the men resided in a larger room, the women were kept in a much smaller room in the back.
