Bradley Manning In Sociology
Sociology is defined as the study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society
(Webster). If you really look at the things that happen in the society around you, there will be times
that you see things that happened in the news and see a direct correlation with prior sources from the
same issue. For example, Chelsea Manning, also known as Bradley Manning, who has been released
from prison after receiving a pardon from Former President Barack Obama. Manning was placed in a
prison barracks at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas serving a 35 year sentence for WikiLeaks of classified
United States military documents (The New York Times) While she has been issued a pardon, there
have been several issues that have led her to that pardon.
Manning was initially placed in Fort Leavenworth where she could have served a 90 year sentence.
However, the judge was very lenient to only sentence her to 35 years, despite the jury wanting to see

would be in the best interest to allow the early release. However, a name that was not on the list to be
pardoned was one of the largest leakers, known as Edward J. Snowden. Mr. Snowden was a former
intelligence contractor who leaked out archives of top secret surveillance files (The New York Times).
Snowden is currently in Russia, living as a fugitive. What is the reasoning behind allowing Manning a
pardon, but not Snowden when they both committed the same level of crime? Manning was released
based on her mental health status being lessened each day that she lived her life in solitary
confinement, ultimately soon to lead to a successful suicide had she not been given the pardon.
Snowden on the other hand fled the country and found refuge in another country, which has extended
his stay until 2020 or longer (The New York Times). Snowden also released data which was much

Explain How Human Geography And Physical Geography
How human geography and physical geography overlap The influence of natural environment of
human activity are very huge. First of all, we have terrains. The influence of terrains on rural tribes is
very apparent. Rivers in plain area is less, and the terrain is complete, open and flat. So the shape of
the village assumes the circular or irregular polygon and more concentrated. However, in river less
area, villages along the river or valley stretching and villages scattered and quite small. Second , the
water. Villages are generally close to the water. In the water supply adequate areas, Village is
concentrated and have large scale. In water supply scarce areas, the village is fragmented and
smaller. In dry and desert areas, village is distributed in the area rich in oasis or groundwater.
The third one is climate. If area rich in precipitation, most of the roof are inclined. This is in favour for
the rain come down. And most of the plants are very good live in the more water areas. So people
usually use bamboo to build their house. Because of the rain is very often, the ground and the air are
very damply. So people s houses usually impending. The less rainfall area home usually use flat roof.
So people usually use earth and rocks to build their house.
The fourth one is temperature. When the areas in the high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Segmental Vitiligo
To this day, the best birthday gift I have ever received is a disease.
The day was November 14th, 2005. Being the curious and (very) nerdy child that I was, spending my
sixth birthday in the doctor s office wasn t the worst thing ever. And so, a scrawny Indian boy sat in
the office of a well respected dermatologist, next to a caring mother who had wrestled through the day
with her limited knowledge of English. Little did I know that this glorious sixth birthday was the day
that would shape the rest of my life; this was the day that I was diagnosed with non segmental vitiligo.
At the time, I never understood the distraught look on my mother s face as she heard the diagnosis. I
mean, the doctor said I had the same condition as Michael Jackson, so didn t that mean I was pretty
much set to be the King of Pop? Childish delusions aside, it wasn t until middle school that I would
fully understand the repercussions of vitiligo, which appeared on my face in the form of milky white
patches around my eyes. The disease itself was completely benign, but what I failed to foresee was the
toll it would take on my social life and, especially, my self image. In middle school, I grew more ...

disease. Heretofore, vitiligo had entangled itself within my identity, labeling me as the boy with

realization that I was so much more than a few patches of discolored skin. I was the leader of an a
capella group, the pianist for the school s jazz band, the Indian boy who gave a three hour Hindustani
vocal concert. I was the friend who anyone could talk to when they needed to, and the sarcastic
classmate who wouldn t hesitate at a chance to crack a joke during class. I realized that, even with the
absence of my vitiligo, I was not defined by what I looked

Social Process Theory Essay
Social Process Theory
Social Process and Crime
In the social process theory, three areas are covered. The three are social learning theory, social control
theory, and social reaction theory.
The definition of the social learning theory is People learn through observing others behavior,
attitudes, and outcomes of those behaviors. Most human behavior is learned observationally through
modeling: from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later
occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action. (Learning Theories Knowledgebase ).
Most people learn through watching other. As a child, we learn by mocking what we have observed
repeatedly. This is how we learn to walk, talk, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the child feels that, they do not have a chance in school this may lead to them dropping out. In this
situation, the child does not have a chance to build a steady relationship with the teacher for support.
Another factor that can affect a child and what they learn can be peer groups. If the child is hanging
around with a group that has antisocial behavior then they can fall into the trap of being bad because it
is cool. The bad crowd can lead any child to deviant behavior and down the wrong path. The more
violent the group the more likely the child will be to commit serious crime to impress their friends.
One of the subcategories of Social Learning Theory is the Differential Association Theory first
developed by Edwin H. Sutherland in 1939 in a text call Principles of criminology. The basic steps to
this theory are. (Sutherland, 1939)
1. Criminal behavior is learned.
2. Learning is a by product of interaction.
3. Learning occurs within intimate groups.
4. Criminal techniques are learned.
5. Perceptions of legal code influence motives and drives.
6. Differential associations may very in frequency, duration, priority, and intensity.
7. The process of learning criminal behavior by association with criminal and anticriminal patterns
involves all of the mechanisms involved in any other learning process.
8. Criminal behavior is an expression of general

My Lai Massacre Essay
My Lai Massacre
The Vietnam War was a conflict over several years in South East Asia which saw more than 3 million
civilians and soldiers killed. Public opinion within Australia about the Vietnam War moved through a
number of stages over the 10 year involvement however, the initial acceptance was largely that of
disinterest and there was little negative reaction to Australia s involvement. One of the most ruthless
incidents against civilians occurred in the war in Vietnam, when United States forces murder the
majority of population of the South Vietnamese village of My Lai in March 1968. When the
governments of the United States and Australia could no longer portray the Vietnam conflict as a

Cell Free DNA Case Study
Circulating tumor nucleic acids (ctNAs) composed of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), mRNA and
microRNA that are released and circulate in the blood of cancer patient, and changes in the levels of
ctNAs in the circulation have been associated with tumor burden, tumor stage, vascularity, cellular
turnover, response to therapy and metastasis12, 210 212.
It has been postulated that cell free DNA (cfDNA) can originates directly from the viable tumor cells
or from CTCs by apoptosis, necrosis, autophagy, micro environmental stress, mitotic catastrophe,
trauma and treatment procedure12, 213 220, others includes viruses, such as EBV, HPV and hepatitis

Withal, not all cfDNA originates from cell death; viable cells also release cfDNA as a part of
homeostasis215, 217, 246, 247. In addition to this, it has also been seen that incitements of
lymphocytes can results into release of large numbers of cfDNA in the absence of apoptosis or
necrosis216, 246, 248. Moreover, It has been suggested that cfDNA act as a ligand for Toll like
receptor 9 (TLR9) that may inhibit pro apoptotic caspases by virtue of TLR9 dependent signaling249.
This signifies a possible immunomodulatory role for cfDNA. These days cfDNA remains to be hot
topic and is widely used for wide range of research and clinical purposes, including tumor genotyping,
early cancer detection, patient prognosis, minimal residual disease monitoring, therapy evaluation,
biomarker in transplant surgery for graft injury and prediction of allograft rejection53, 250 262 .
Multiple studies have demonstrated that patients with invasive tumors such as lung, breast, pancreas,
colon, hepatocellular, ovarian, prostate, esophageal and melanoma generally have high level of ctDNA
in their plasma than in healthy individuals263 268. Several genomic studies of tumor mutations have
analyzed ctDNA to quantify tumor burden and to detect therapeutic resistance conferring
mutations211, 269 271. Moreover, a correlation has been set up

Dementia is a progressive disorder that will affect how you re brain functions and particularly your

dementia is recognised early enough that are a lot of things that you can be done to make the quality

Some effects may be that they may not remember things that they have done days ago but they may
clearly remember things such as World War Two. This may have an effect on a person s self esteem as
they will be noticing the change in their behaviour and memory and it will make them think about
what has changed and because of their short memory they may get worried that something bad has
happened to them but they cannot remember. It can also effect self esteem and a person s confidence
because if they lose the ability to communicate and understand what people are saying to them they
may shut down and just ignore everyone that they come into contact with as they may feel
embarrassed about their lack of communication. Alzheimer s disease can have a big effect on family
members around the person with the disease; it would be upsetting seeing a loved one got through
such a major change in their behaviour and their mental capability. If you live with someone with
Alzheimer s and they are wondering in the middle of the night and have sleep difficulties and this can

Development Of Hybrid Colonial Architecture
Colonial architecture is a combination architectural style of a country that has been adapted from the
other countries characteristics, methods and influences. The colonists built settlements and create
hybrid designs that include their countries of origin with the design styles. Europeans came to
Southeast Asia during 16th century. The colonial vision was effectively imposed on Southeast Asia. At
the beginning of the 20th century, most of the Southeast Asia countries were controlled by the British,
Dutch, French and the Americans. Under this colonial rule, the late 19th and early 20th centuries was
a period of fast development of such as new architectural styles, modern construction methods and
techniques, railways, roads, etc. They changed the configurations, construction and methods to make
the buildings more sustainable and maintained.
This essay focuses on the development of hybrid colonial architecture in early 20th century in
Southeast Asia. The essay investigates the different styles of buildings in different locations and
explains how these types of architecture combined both European and local origins. It explains the
Dutch style in Indonesia and the British style in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia while giving
an example building to these styles.

Oklahoma Organic Act Essay

Oklahoma Organic Act
The Oklahoma Organic Act (a series of legislative acts) was passed on May 2, 1890. This officially
created Oklahoma Territory, which at the time excluded the lands occupied by the Five Civilized
Tribes. This created an issue and caused a reorganization that allowed the combination for Oklahoma
Territory with Indian Territory.15 Section 29 of the Organic Act stated, that part of the United States
which is bounded on the north by the state of Kansas, on the east by the states of Arkansas and
Missouri, on the south by the state of Texas, and on the west and north by the Territory of Oklahoma .
. . shall be known as the Indian Territory. United States courts were to assume jurisdiction over civil
cases other than those with tribal jurisdiction. Finally, the act gave attention to Indian citizenship,
stating that any member of any Indian tribe or nation residing in the Indian Territory could apply to the
United States court to become a citizen of the United States . The implementation of the Oklahoma
Organic Act set the stage for Oklahoma Statehood.

Thus, Gross Working Capital = Total Current Assets. * Net Working Capital: It refers to the difference
between current assets and current liabilities. Current liabilities refer to those claims which are
expected to mature for payment within an operating cycle and include creditors, bills payable,

occurs when current assets exceed current liabilities and a negative working capital occurs when
current liabilities exceed current assets. Net Working Capital = Gross Working Capital or Current
Assets Current Liabilities Net working capital can alternatively defined as that part of the current
assets which are financed with long term funds. Now, let us have a look at some of the other
interesting concepts of working capital: * Zero Working Capital: Zero Working Capital = Inventories

major constituents of current assets which affect sales. Further, suppliers finance inventories through
accounts payable. * Permanent Working Capital: It refers to a certain minimum level of current assets
which is essential for the firm to carry on its business irrespective of the level of operations. This is

Urine Flow Lab Report
The cells in our body reside and function in the ever changing environment of extracellular fluid
(ECF). Survival and quality of a cell is dependent on the contents of the extracellular fluid
surrounding it. Within the ECF there can be fluctuations of ion content, water volume, blood plasma
pH and inevitably, metabolic waste. The levels of these ECF elements may be altered simply by
drinking, eating, sweating or exercising (Manuguid et al, 2016). However, our cells can only
efficiently thrive in slight variations of ECF content. The osmolarity, plasma volume and pH must be
sustained within a limited range in order to avoid significant changes in the plasma. Dramatic
deviation from these tight parameters may threaten the integrity of homeostasis ... Show more content

Four different testing groups were considered during this experiment in order to measure the changes
in urine flow rate, urine specific density and urine pH. The groups included a water drinking group to
represent a hyperosmotic fluid with a pH near that of the plasma, a Gatorade drinking group, which
expressed a lower pH with an isosmotic quality in relation to plasma and a Coke drinking group,
which served as another more acidic pH in respect to the plasma. Coke also contains caffeine and is
hyperosmotic to plasma. The last testing group was a non drinking sample that did not ingest any fluid
throughout the duration of the study. The subjects were instructed to fast for five hours prior and to

The Problem Of A Criminal Trial Under South Australian Law
lood. Sticky, hot, messy, awful blood. For most of us, the sight of it turns the stomach, but in the court
of law, blood can tell a lot more about a crime scene than you might think. Forensic bloodstain pattern
analysis (BPA) is the interpretation of bloodstains for the purpose of reconstructing the events that
took place in the case of violent crimes. Using the sciences of fluid dynamics and trigonometry, BPA
examiners form opinions about what did or did not happen by examining elements of the stains such
as the size, shape, distribution and location of the bloodstains. Following the analysis of the crime
scene, BPA examiners then prepare to present often critical evidence to a jury in the court of law. In
many cases including here in Australia BPA is essential and pivotal to the investigation and can
contribute greatly to the outcome of a criminal trial under South Australian law.
Bloodstain Pattern Principals
To understand how analysts interpret bloodstains, one must first understand the basic properties of
blood. Blood contains both liquid (plasma and serum) and solids (red blood cells, white blood cells,
platelets and proteins). Blood is in a liquid state when inside the body, and when it exits the body, it
does so as a liquid. However, this liquid state does not last very long after the blood leaves the body.
Except for people with hemophilia, blood will begin to clot within a few minutes, forming a dark,
shiny gel like substance that grows more solid as time

HOW DOES DISEASE AFFECT THE LEVEL OF ORGANIZATION? * THE KIDNEY
There are two kidneys, each about the size of a fist, located on either side of the spine at the lowest
level of the rib cage. Each kidney contains up to a million functioning units called nephrons. A
nephron consists of a filtering unit of tiny blood vessels called a glomerulus attached to a tubule.
When blood enters the glomerulus, it is filtered and the remaining fluid then passes along the tubule.
In the tubule, chemicals and water are either added to or removed from this filtered fluid according to
the body s needs, the final product being the urine we excrete. The kidneys perform their life

Falstaff And King Henry As Father Figures In Henry IV Part 1
In Henry IV Part 1, although Falstaff and King Henry act as father figures in Hal s life and are both
intelligent in their own right, the differences in their tone and diction showcase the major differences
in their personalities and relationship with pride. Although King Henry and Falstaff are extremely
different characters, both do act as father figures in Hal s life with Falstaff as a surrogate father and
King Henry as Hal s birth father. With King Henry, this fatherly relationship emerges as one of blindly
scolding and ordering around his son, an example being when the King criticizes Hal s friends, rude
society (3.2.14). The relationship with Hal and his surrogate father, Falstaff, though is much more
relaxed with Falstaff teasing Hal, by touching on Hal s slight insecurity of taking care of his princely
duties, calling Hal true prince (2.4.106). Although both these relationships are very different in how
relaxed they are, there is a similarity of King Henry and Falstaff acting as fatherly figures in Hal s life.
Both characters are also extremely intelligent in their own right. Falstaff often references mythical
beings and makes intelligent metaphors, one of these being when Falstaff says, thou knowest I am as
valiant as Hercules (2.4.106). Along with this reference to Hercules, being very intelligent for a man
as lower class as Falstaff, it also shows that Falstaff is prideful in a joking manner. Falstaff knows that

Barriers To Seeing Batman Patterson
In Freeman Patterson s article Barriers to Seeing an interesting shift takes place in paragraph 12.
Patterson begins to discuss his final barrier to seeing, the camera itself. He cites the Susan Sontag,
who claims that a way of certifying experience, taking photographs is also way of refusing it by
limiting experience to the search for the photogenic, by converting experiences into an image, a
souvenir. This position that Sontag takes shows that she believes that the camera clouds are memories
of an event, only showing the most perfect part. I believe this to be true, with a few limitations.
Sontag s claim that the camera only serves to cloud the memories of those who experience events
definitely has some truth to it. For example, if one were to visit a mountain range, and perhaps a visit a
scenic overview looking out onto the mountains and take a photograph of this moment. However,

Style Elements And Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron
Style Elements and Harrison Bergeron It is quite difficult to detail a dystopian future without thinking
about the variables. What time period shall it be? What new laws will be enacted to cause the
dystopia? How will the characters be portrayed, and what shall be their challenges? These variables
would be enough to repel authors from this topic, but one author managed to perfectly describe a
dystopian future with his short piece, Harrison Bergeron. This short story, written by Kurt Vonnegut,
has been renowned for showing an almost perfect dystopia. Through the use of stylistic elements such
as diction, imagery, and details, Vonnegut reveals a grim tone, where even if good tries to prevail, it
will be stopped and forgotten. In Harrison

Advo Week 1 Assignment
Based on the payback approach, Advo should still implement Project 2 because it has a shorter
payback period than Project 1. Thus, Project 2 will have recouped more than the initial investment in
the second year. Furthermore, Project 1 still falls short of investment recovery by $109,000 ($400,000
$291,000). Thus, Project 1 will not begin to recoup the cost of the initial investment until year three.
Therefore, Project 2 will begin to generate a return on investment much sooner than Project 1 and
money received sooner has more value (Edmonds et al., 2011).
The time value of money concept identifies that the present value of a dollar obtained in the future is
less than a dollar today. Therefore, the expression time value of money denotes the change in the value

value of cash flow signifies the economic worth of a project for a company at a specific point in time.
This, in turn, helps decision makers ascertain the time period that the company s investments will be

Furthermore, decision makers can better evaluate which projects have a higher chance of providing
them with a return sooner since present value discounts future cash flows to their equivalent value

George Washington Secret Six Analysis
George Washington s Secret Six presents the somewhat untold story of the Culper spy ring. The ring
was formed after the death of Captain Nathan Hale who was Washington s first spy, in the aftermath of
his death Washington decided that he would do everything in his power to keep his spies from meeting
an unfortunate demise. With the help of Major Benjamin Tallmadge, the roots for the Culper spy ring
were laid. The ring was designed to keep the identities of the members a secret at all costs. The Culper
ring operated out of British occupied New York where all the members were generally considered to
be loyal to Britain. The ring s members were Abraham Woodhull, Robert Townsend, Caleb Brewster,
James Rivington, Benjamin Tallmadge, Austin Roe, and Agent 355. They communicated using
clothesline messaging, dead drops, invisible ink that only reacted to a secret chemical, code names,
and coded messages. The ring successfully brought light to Benedict Arnold s treason, the British plan
to ambush French troops as soon as they landed, as well as keeping accurate information on troops
and ships in New York. The ring only suffered the loss of one member, this was outstanding
considering that the ring was quite large and operated in British controlled New York. Given the
effectiveness of the ring, the Continental army might have been defeated if the Culper Spy Ring didn t
exist.

Social Importance Of Oysters
Oysters
An oyster is a bivalve mollusk, found in beds in the shallow waters of all oceans. An oyster s shell is
made up of two valves. The upper one is flat and the lower is convex with multiple outlines and a
rough outer surface. Wild oysters will spend most of their lives attached, except for the free swimming
larval stage. Oysters and the reefs they form provide many ecological, economic, and social benefits.
The health of an oyster bed reflects the overall health of the coastal ecosystem they live in. Not only
are they an important part of the estuarine food web, they also provide an excellent habitat for inshore
marine life, and form important commercial and recreational fishery. Oysters help control erosion
along the shorelines and filter the water they live in. These benefits make them an important species in
the estuary. There are many different species of oysters. Some of these include but are not limited to:
Pacific Oysters, Kumamoto Oysters, Atlantic Oysters, European Flats, and Olympia Oysters. Pacific
Oysters (Crassostrea gigas) are small and sweet. These oysters are the world s most cultivated oysters.
They have more of a sharply pointed shell than the Atlantics or European Flats. Today s Pacific
Oysters are generally named after where they are harvested. Kumamoto Oysters (Crassostrea sikamea)
have been described as small, sweet, and almost nutty. They are characterized by their deep bowl like
shell. Kumamoto Oysters spawn later in the season and in warmer

Informational Constraints
1. Chapter eight describes three broader goals of one s audience in addition to those discussed earlier
in the textbook. One of these is security. Another is professional growth. As the textbook notes, people
want to develop and grow on the job...they want to learn more skills and assume new duties...and they
want to work for an organization that is developing and growing (Markel, 2012). 2. Constraints within
technical writing are things such as the amount of information that can be gathered for a paper, the
required length and format, the due date, etc. (Markel, 2012), that impact the writing process. These
often help a writer compose a document however they also can be a hindrance as well. An example of

A commonsense argument is one that appeals to a person s understanding and experience of how the
world works. The textbook notes, if your audience s commonsense arguments match yours, your

way to present an argument. Like the University of Maryland s University College notes on their
website, Clear thinking requires that you state your claim and support it with concrete, specific facts.
This approach appeals to our common sense... ( Writing Arguments, 2011). 7. One type of argument is
one that argues against the writer themselves, instead of against the writer s argument. This is known
as a ad hominem argument, or an argument against the speaker (Markel, 2012) according to the
textbook. Ad hominem arguments are useful in convincing someone to do something or of a side of
something because of a characteristic they possess. These arguments are logical fallacies that are
colloquially known as mistakes in reasoning ( What is..., n.d.) that are often not mistakes that can help

High Cost Of Tuition At High School
The community college has been considered the cheaper alternative for graduating high schools to
finish their prerequisites before transferring off to a 4 year university. Students initially take this route
due to the high cost of tuition at a 4 year institution and the fact that these classes come at a lower cost
(Lu, 2014, para. 1 2). But that doesn t mean the community can still be a bit costly for some families
in the range of the lower social economic class. Loans and interest rates to meet the rising cost of
school in general build up over time and present an economic barrier to a certain class range of
students. This past year, President Obama recently announced plans to make the first two years of
community college free for incoming students. According to the White House Blog, The requirements
are for students attend community at least partially and maintain an average GPA of a 2.5 (Hudson,
2015, The requirements, para. 1). This is an excellent decision on the president s part and could help
improve education in this country in general. The positives of this initiative would include the fact that
free community college is an inevitability, Student enrollment would increase, and the states in
general would be more persuaded to spend on higher education. For starters, Community college is
already on the road to becoming free in some form or another. With many other western countries

Rational Choice Theory, Social Process Theory And...
Criminology is a developing field of science that the justice system and its workers use to classify and
explain crime and criminals. Within the field, there are people that are extending theories that have
been around for some time. If they are not continuing work on an existing theory, they are developing
a new one. Our class discussed five main theories. The theories we discussed in class are Rational
Choice Theory, Trait Theory, Social Structure Theory, Social Process Theory, and Developmental
Theory. Rational Choice Theory says that a person chooses to commit the crime based on if the reward
outweighs the risk, regardless of the crime. Within this theory, there are four sub theories, General
Deterrence, Specific Deterrence, Rational Choice, and Incarceration. Each of these theories includes
the general characteristics of Rational Choice Theory and apply to either offender specific or offense

Offense specific crimes are crimes where the offender reacts selectively to the characteristics of a
particular criminal act(Siegel, 2011). The first of the four sub theories, General Deterrence, focuses on
the fear of punishment. The best way to enforce this is to ensure the certainty, severity, and swiftness
of the punishment. Next, the second sub theory is specific deterrence. Specific deterrence is the view
that criminal sanctions should be so powerful that offenders will never repeat their criminal acts.
Furthermore, the third sub theory is more of an extension of the second sub theory. Incapacitation says
the keeping an offender behind bars in the years they would be more likely to commit the crime

The Bible And Forgiveness
What injuries to yourself from others would you find especially hard to get over or forgive? Explain.
The Bible says, Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God
forgave you (Ephesians 4:32). I personally try to live by the Bible every day. Times do get hard and
certain circumstances hurt more than others, but we are all called to forgive one another at the end of
the day. Forgiveness and getting over a situation are, in my opinion, two separate acts. Forgiveness
should be given to all, but completely ignoring and disregarding the situation is not appropriate. I have

The Five most Important Events in U.S History
Five Most Important Events in U.S. History
To me, the most important events that left their mark on America were; Osama Bin Laden s death, the
American Revolution, September 11, 2001, Apollo 11, and Lincoln s assassination. I am going to be
arguing the reason why I believe all of these events to be the most significant, and important in the
United States.
Osama Bin Laden
Hitler and Laden were good friends throughout all of these attacks and damage caused. Laden had
plenty of supporters, but still nobody could take all of his serious, awful acts, seriously. People say and
have said that because of his death, we are now free at last. Bin Laden was such a terrible person
because of all of the attacks, deaths, and damage he caused. Laden would go out of his way to get at
the Americans by hijacking planes, destroying major land marks, and killing lots of people. Americans
now feel safe because of his death.
The American Revolution
The establishment of America was because of this event. George Washington was the leader of the
continental army. During this the Americans faced very hard obstacles. A majority of Americans had
opposed to war in the early 1775 year. Only about a third of Americans supported this war. This meant
independence. U. S. History all started with this. The surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown is
what marked the end of the War. It was the last war of the American Revolution. These battles were all
very stunning, intense, unexpected events

Weak Arguments in Cosmological Argument by Thomas Aquinas
Many philosophers have posed the question: How can I prove that God exists? Thomas Aquinas
attempted to prove the existence of God in a rational way through his Cosmological argument.
Aquinas argued that every event as we observe it has a cause and a casual chain cannot be infinite.
Therefore, a first cause is necessary and this cause is God. Aquinas argument is unsuccessful because
it assumes that God is a necessary being, fails to prove that the world is not an infinite chain of events,
and undermines the basis of his argument by saying that God is infinite. Aquinas argued the existence
of God with five main points. Aquinas began by saying that nothing can be a cause of itself; rather
every event was caused by some prior event. Therefore event A causes event B that leads to event C
and so forth. He believed in this cause and effect relationship but believed that there must be a first
cause as a starting point. When contemplating this starting point Aquinas rejected the possibility of an
infinite series of events. This means that the universe has not existed forever and there must have been
something from which every single event stems. There must be an uncaused first cause, which
Aquinas concluded to be God. The first cause is called the unmoved mover. The unmoved mover is
what set all other events and beings in motion.
The arguments made by Aquinas at first seem to be powerful. However, when examining and taking a
closer look the arguments don t seem to be as

God s Sovereign Rule Comes on Earth in Tom Wright s...
Surprised by Hope is broken down into three parts. In Part One, Setting the Scene, Wright addresses
the confusion of heaven and God s Kingdom. Many Christians, according to Wright, view heaven as
the place you go when you die (p. 18). If this is what has been taught for many years, what could be
the alternative? Wright argues that the language of heaven in the New Testament doesn t work that
way. God s kingdom in the preaching of Jesus refers not to postmortem destiny, not to our escape from
this world into another one, but to God s sovereign rule coming on earth as it is in heaven (p. 18).
Wright turns his attention to the word resurrection. He explores the way ancient writers and thinkers
have used the term. He writes: The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
56).
In part two, Wright explores God s future plan. He suggests there are two secular ways to look at the
future of the world. These myths have crept into modern day Christian beliefs. The first way is the
myth of progress. This is was Wright calls evolutionary optimism (p. 81). This states that humans and
the cosmos are in a continual state of improvement, moving toward perfection. The problem with this
myth, as Wright points out, is that is cannot deal with evil. The second myth is the idea people are
souls in transit. It was early philosophers like Plato and the Gnostics who claimed that people are all
immortal souls just passing through this world on the way to their spiritual destiny (p. 70 71). This
myth obviously dismisses creation and the responsibility to care for creation.
Wright then takes the two secular myths and holds them against the views of the early Christians.
There are three themes drawn from the New Testament and Revelation that support God was going to
do the whole cosmos what he did for Jesus at Easter: theme of the goodness of creation, the nature of
evil, and the plan of redemption (p. 93). Redemption is the remaking of creation, having dealt with the
evil that is defacing and distorting it. And it is accomplished by the same God, now known in Jesus
Christ, through whom it was made in the first place (p. 97).
Wright continues by further exploring some misconceptions about Christ s ascension, the second
coming, and

Challenging Behaviors in Young Children and Their Functions Anastasia Sims ECE201: Intro to Early
Childhood Behavior Management (ACP1116B) June 22, 2011
Introduction There are many reasons why young children have challenging behaviors. These reasons,
or functions, for behaviors are serving a purpose for that child. It is our job as educators to figure out
what those functions are so they can be prevented or managed, in the case of disruptive or dangerous
behaviors, or reinforced and encouraged, in the case of those positive behaviors we would like to see
flourish. The way to do this is to determine the function of a behavior, implement an individual
behavioral support plan, be consistent with it, and maintain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Peers of course are another group of people that come in contact with a child a good portion of the
time, as well as child care and school. Poverty, and the conditions that surround it, and exposure to
violence in society, are also two very big factors. If you do not have money you can not get proper
nutrition, and without proper nutrition your development is suppressed. In the end though, if children
have the proper support system in place to help them deal with their challenging behavior then all of
those risk factors are less important. In fact researchers have decided we should focus on protective
factors instead. They discovered an ability called resilience and found that it is associated with a series
of protective factors that counter the impact of the risk factors in a child s life. (Kaiser, Sklar
Rasminsky, p.43) You can never know exactly why behaviors exist but you can definitely have a plan
in place to help curb them.
The Behaviors The three behaviors I will be focusing on are ones that I have seen on a daily basis in
my 12 years experience working with young children. They are hitting, eloping, otherwise known as
running away or escaping, and fussing or crying. Hitting is considered challenging because it is an
aggressive act that hurts someone else. Its one thing to hit yourself, but hitting someone else should

Redistricting In The United States Voters
Voters should care about redistricting because it highly concerns them. The city that they are living in
could become divided or family members could be in different districts. I believe that there is a
problem with our current system on redistricting mainly because us people don t have a say in it. I
think if we got to see what our state legislators were wanting to do in the future, then we would be
able to have a say in it. One of the main negative effects of political redistricting is gerrymandering.
Being able to just change the districts to keep or change the political power is unfair. They can do this
to just be able to win the vote in the end. One positive aspect is all the voters are fairly representative,
meaning they all feel like their vote will count (unless gerrymandering is happening). On Ballotpedia
on Indiana, we have 9 representatives and 150 state legislators and the state legislators do the
redistricting. One reform that is going around the United States is the Electoral system and wanting to
change it. I personally do not believe in changing the Electoral College because it s something we
have been using for over 200 years now, and it works. I also believe that the Electoral College is a fair
way for elections to happen and it highly relies on our votes. Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is when
voters rank the following election candidates in their favorable order and decide then who is their best
pick. Winner take all is exactly what it means, the winner takes it all in the election. I do not think it is
in the public interest for my state to use a commission or a board for redistricting because it comes
down to what political party controls the board. For example, if you have a board of 10 people ...

The Populist And The Progressive Movement
The progressive movement, an extension of the Populist movement, was an effort to cure the political

in the last quarter of the 19th century. In terms of social reform, the Progressive movement
transcended the predominantly agrarian ambitions of Populists. With Populist crusaders such as

  • 2. Bradley Manning In Sociology Sociology is defined as the study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society (Webster). If you really look at the things that happen in the society around you, there will be times that you see things that happened in the news and see a direct correlation with prior sources from the same issue. For example, Chelsea Manning, also known as Bradley Manning, who has been released from prison after receiving a pardon from Former President Barack Obama. Manning was placed in a prison barracks at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas serving a 35 year sentence for WikiLeaks of classified United States military documents (The New York Times) While she has been issued a pardon, there have been several issues that have led her to that pardon. Manning was initially placed in Fort Leavenworth where she could have served a 90 year sentence. However, the judge was very lenient to only sentence her to 35 years, despite the jury wanting to see Manning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Manning taking her own life while being held in a military prison, Former President Obama decide it would be in the best interest to allow the early release. However, a name that was not on the list to be pardoned was one of the largest leakers, known as Edward J. Snowden. Mr. Snowden was a former intelligence contractor who leaked out archives of top secret surveillance files (The New York Times). Snowden is currently in Russia, living as a fugitive. What is the reasoning behind allowing Manning a pardon, but not Snowden when they both committed the same level of crime? Manning was released based on her mental health status being lessened each day that she lived her life in solitary confinement, ultimately soon to lead to a successful suicide had she not been given the pardon. Snowden on the other hand fled the country and found refuge in another country, which has extended his stay until 2020 or longer (The New York Times). Snowden also released data which was much more severe than that of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First of all, we have terrains. The influence of terrains on rural tribes is very apparent. Rivers in plain area is less, and the terrain is complete, open and flat. So the shape of the village assumes the circular or irregular polygon and more concentrated. However, in river less area, villages along the river or valley stretching and villages scattered and quite small. Second , the water. Villages are generally close to the water. • 4. Segmental Vitiligo To this day, the best birthday gift I have ever received is a disease. The day was November 14th, 2005. Being the curious and (very) nerdy child that I was, spending my sixth birthday in the doctor s office wasn t the worst thing ever. And so, a scrawny Indian boy sat in the office of a well respected dermatologist, next to a caring mother who had wrestled through the day with her limited knowledge of English. Little did I know that this glorious sixth birthday was the day that would shape the rest of my life; this was the day that I was diagnosed with non segmental vitiligo. At the time, I never understood the distraught look on my mother s face as she heard the diagnosis. I mean, the doctor said I had the same condition as Michael Jackson, so didn t that mean I was pretty much set to be the King of Pop? Childish delusions aside, it wasn t until middle school that I would fully understand the repercussions of vitiligo, which appeared on my face in the form of milky white patches around my eyes. The disease itself was completely benign, but what I failed to foresee was the toll it would take on my social life and, especially, my self image. In middle school, I grew more ... Heretofore, vitiligo had entangled itself within my identity, labeling me as the boy with vitiligo . But rather than creating a gaping hole in my self identity, my vitiligo left me with the realization that I was so much more than a few patches of discolored skin. I was the leader of an a capella group, the pianist for the school s jazz band, the Indian boy who gave a three hour Hindustani vocal concert. The three are social learning theory, social control theory, and social reaction theory. The definition of the social learning theory is People learn through observing others behavior, attitudes, and outcomes of those behaviors. Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action. In this situation, the child does not have a chance to build a steady relationship with the teacher for support. Another factor that can affect a child and what they learn can be peer groups. If the child is hanging around with a group that has antisocial behavior then they can fall into the trap of being bad because it is cool. The bad crowd can lead any child to deviant behavior and down the wrong path. The more violent the group the more likely the child will be to commit serious crime to impress their friends. Criminal techniques are learned. 5. Perceptions of legal code influence motives and drives. 6. Differential associations may very in frequency, duration, priority, and intensity. 7. The levels of these ECF elements may be altered simply by drinking, eating, sweating or exercising (Manuguid et al, 2016). • 14. The Problem Of A Criminal Trial Under South Australian Law lood. Sticky, hot, messy, awful blood. For most of us, the sight of it turns the stomach, but in the court of law, blood can tell a lot more about a crime scene than you might think. Forensic bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA) is the interpretation of bloodstains for the purpose of reconstructing the events that took place in the case of violent crimes. Using the sciences of fluid dynamics and trigonometry, BPA examiners form opinions about what did or did not happen by examining elements of the stains such as the size, shape, distribution and location of the bloodstains. Following the analysis of the crime scene, BPA examiners then prepare to present often critical evidence to a jury in the court of law. In many cases including here in Australia BPA is essential and pivotal to the investigation and can contribute greatly to the outcome of a criminal trial under South Australian law. Bloodstain Pattern Principals To understand how analysts interpret bloodstains, one must first understand the basic properties of blood. Blood contains both liquid (plasma and serum) and solids (red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and proteins). Blood is in a liquid state when inside the body, and when it exits the body, it does so as a liquid. However, this liquid state does not last very long after the blood leaves the body. Except for people with hemophilia, blood will begin to clot within a few minutes, forming a dark, shiny gel like substance that grows more solid as time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The upper one is flat and the lower is convex with multiple outlines and a rough outer surface. Wild oysters will spend most of their lives attached, except for the free swimming larval stage. Oysters and the reefs they form provide many ecological, economic, and social benefits. The health of an oyster bed reflects the overall health of the coastal ecosystem they live in. Not only are they an important part of the estuarine food web, they also provide an excellent habitat for inshore marine life, and form important commercial and recreational fishery. Oysters help control erosion along the shorelines and filter the water they live in. These benefits make them an important species in the estuary. There are many different species of oysters. • 28. High Cost Of Tuition At High School The community college has been considered the cheaper alternative for graduating high schools to finish their prerequisites before transferring off to a 4 year university. Students initially take this route due to the high cost of tuition at a 4 year institution and the fact that these classes come at a lower cost (Lu, 2014, para. 1 2). But that doesn t mean the community can still be a bit costly for some families in the range of the lower social economic class. Loans and interest rates to meet the rising cost of school in general build up over time and present an economic barrier to a certain class range of students. This past year, President Obama recently announced plans to make the first two years of community college free for incoming students. According to the White House Blog, The requirements are for students attend community at least partially and maintain an average GPA of a 2.5 (Hudson, 2015, The requirements, para. 1). Within the field, there are people that are extending theories that have been around for some time. If they are not continuing work on an existing theory, they are developing a new one. Our class discussed five main theories. The theories we discussed in class are Rational Choice Theory, Trait Theory, Social Structure Theory, Social Process Theory, and Developmental Theory. Rational Choice Theory says that a person chooses to commit the crime based on if the reward outweighs the risk, regardless of the crime. Within this theory, there are four sub theories, General Deterrence, Specific Deterrence, Rational Choice, and Incarceration. The first of the four sub theories, General Deterrence, focuses on the fear of punishment. The best way to enforce this is to ensure the certainty, severity, and swiftness of the punishment. Next, the second sub theory is specific deterrence. Specific deterrence is the view that criminal sanctions should be so powerful that offenders will never repeat their criminal acts. Furthermore, the third sub theory is more of an extension of the second sub theory. The Bible says, Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians 4:32). I personally try to live by the Bible every day. Times do get hard and certain circumstances hurt more than others, but we are all called to forgive one another at the end of the day. Forgiveness and getting over a situation are, in my opinion, two separate acts. Forgiveness should be given to all, but completely ignoring and disregarding the situation is not appropriate. • 31. The Five most Important Events in U.S History Five Most Important Events in U.S. History To me, the most important events that left their mark on America were; Osama Bin Laden s death, the American Revolution, September 11, 2001, Apollo 11, and Lincoln s assassination. I am going to be arguing the reason why I believe all of these events to be the most significant, and important in the United States. Osama Bin Laden Hitler and Laden were good friends throughout all of these attacks and damage caused. Laden had plenty of supporters, but still nobody could take all of his serious, awful acts, seriously. People say and have said that because of his death, we are now free at last. Bin Laden was such a terrible person because of all of the attacks, deaths, and damage he caused. Laden would go out of his way to get at the Americans by hijacking planes, destroying major land marks, and killing lots of people. Americans now feel safe because of his death. The American Revolution The establishment of America was because of this event. George Washington was the leader of the continental army. During this the Americans faced very hard obstacles. A majority of Americans had opposed to war in the early 1775 year. Only about a third of Americans supported this war. This meant independence. U. S. History all started with this. • 34. Weak Arguments in Cosmological Argument by Thomas Aquinas Many philosophers have posed the question: How can I prove that God exists? Thomas Aquinas attempted to prove the existence of God in a rational way through his Cosmological argument. Aquinas argued that every event as we observe it has a cause and a casual chain cannot be infinite. Therefore, a first cause is necessary and this cause is God. Aquinas argument is unsuccessful because it assumes that God is a necessary being, fails to prove that the world is not an infinite chain of events, and undermines the basis of his argument by saying that God is infinite. Aquinas argued the existence of God with five main points. Aquinas began by saying that nothing can be a cause of itself; rather every event was caused by some prior event. Therefore event A causes event B that leads to event C and so forth. He believed in this cause and effect relationship but believed that there must be a first cause as a starting point. When contemplating this starting point Aquinas rejected the possibility of an infinite series of events. This means that the universe has not existed forever and there must have been something from which every single event stems. There must be an uncaused first cause, which Aquinas concluded to be God. The first cause is called the unmoved mover. The unmoved mover is what set all other events and beings in motion. The arguments made by Aquinas at first seem to be powerful. In Part One, Setting the Scene, Wright addresses the confusion of heaven and God s Kingdom. Many Christians, according to Wright, view heaven as the place you go when you die (p. 18). If this is what has been taught for many years, what could be the alternative? Wright argues that the language of heaven in the New Testament doesn t work that way. God s kingdom in the preaching of Jesus refers not to postmortem destiny, not to our escape from this world into another one, but to God s sovereign rule coming on earth as it is in heaven (p. 18). Wright turns his attention to the word resurrection. He explores the way ancient writers and thinkers have used the term. He writes: The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 56). In part two, Wright explores God s future plan. He suggests there are two secular ways to look at the future of the world. These myths have crept into modern day Christian beliefs. The first way is the myth of progress. This is was Wright calls evolutionary optimism (p. 81). This states that humans and the cosmos are in a continual state of improvement, moving toward perfection. The problem with this myth, as Wright points out, is that is cannot deal with evil. The second myth is the idea people are souls in transit. It was early philosophers like Plato and the Gnostics who claimed that people are all immortal souls just passing through this world on the way to their spiritual destiny (p. 70 71). This myth obviously dismisses creation and the responsibility to care for creation. Wright then takes the two secular myths and holds them against the views of the early Christians. There are three themes drawn from the New Testament and Revelation that support God was going to do the whole cosmos what he did for Jesus at Easter: theme of the goodness of creation, the nature of evil, and the plan of redemption (p. 93). Redemption is the remaking of creation, having dealt with the evil that is defacing and distorting it. And it is accomplished by the same God, now known in Jesus Christ, through whom it was made in the first place (p. 97). These reasons, or functions, for behaviors are serving a purpose for that child. It is our job as educators to figure out what those functions are so they can be prevented or managed, in the case of disruptive or dangerous behaviors, or reinforced and encouraged, in the case of those positive behaviors we would like to see flourish. Peers of course are another group of people that come in contact with a child a good portion of the time, as well as child care and school. Poverty, and the conditions that surround it, and exposure to violence in society, are also two very big factors. If you do not have money you can not get proper nutrition, and without proper nutrition your development is suppressed. In the end though, if children have the proper support system in place to help them deal with their challenging behavior then all of those risk factors are less important. In fact researchers have decided we should focus on protective factors instead. They discovered an ability called resilience and found that it is associated with a series of protective factors that counter the impact of the risk factors in a child s life. (Kaiser, Sklar Rasminsky, p.43) You can never know exactly why behaviors exist but you can definitely have a plan in place to help curb them. The Behaviors The three behaviors I will be focusing on are ones that I have seen on a daily basis in my 12 years experience working with young children. The city that they are living in could become divided or family members could be in different districts. I believe that there is a problem with our current system on redistricting mainly because us people don t have a say in it. I think if we got to see what our state legislators were wanting to do in the future, then we would be able to have a say in it. One of the main negative effects of political redistricting is gerrymandering. Being able to just change the districts to keep or change the political power is unfair. They can do this to just be able to win the vote in the end. One positive aspect is all the voters are fairly representative, meaning they all feel like their vote will count (unless gerrymandering is happening). On Ballotpedia on Indiana, we have 9 representatives and 150 state legislators and the state legislators do the redistricting. One reform that is going around the United States is the Electoral system and wanting to change it. I personally do not believe in changing the Electoral College because it s something we have been using for over 200 years now, and it works. I also believe that the Electoral College is a fair way for elections to happen and it highly relies on our votes. Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is when voters rank the following election candidates in their favorable order and decide then who is their best pick. Winner take all is exactly what it means, the winner takes it all in the election. I do not think it is in the public interest for my state to use a commission or a board for redistricting because it comes down to what political party controls the board.
