How Did Ww1 Affect Australian Society
World War 1 was the first war that involved the majority of the world including Australia. It ran
from 1914 to 1918 and was held in various places spread across Europe. Over 60,000 Australians
lost their lives which was over 1 percent of the population at this time. As you can imagine, this had
a tremendous impact on the home front. The war did contributed a variety of positive and negative
influences to the civilian population of Australia. The main aspects that received dramatic changes
due to World War 1 were the roles of women, political issues and the Australian economy. The War,
did not only effect men fighting, but also the roles of women on the home front. As most men on
farms and factories were taken by the Australian Imperial Force,... Show more content on

Conscription is the idea of compulsory enlistment for a state service, typically into the armed
forces. The controversy between pro and anti conscription divided the Australian population
during the course of the war. Conscription was mainly supported by those who had never stepped
foot near a battlefield. Propaganda played a large role in pressuring men into enlisting. An
example of where propaganda pressured men into volunteering for the Australian Imperial Force, is
Appendix 1. The motive of this poster is successful as it implies that fathers would be shameful to
ignore the plight of women as well as, promoting a sense of guilt. Anti conscription propaganda also
depicted or appealed to women. For instance, anti conscriptionists would call a vote for
conscription, a blood vote, reminding women they were possibly sending men to their deaths. This
strategy of manipulating people s emotions proved to work as in Dec 1917, the 2nd referendum on
conscription rejected it. This debate influenced the entirety of Australian society as citizens were
bombarded with propaganda and the opinions of others. At the beginning of the war the Federal
Government gained great jurisdiction through the War Precautions Act. This was was introduced as
commonwealth would need to increase its authority to prosecute war effectively. Along with this,
the Constitution was also

Abandonment and Struggle on a Farm
Simplicity, especially in poetry, can be an often underrated and overlooked method of conveying a
meaningful and extended message. Ted Kooser, an American poet and writer, is well known for
his simplistic style of writing and has been described as using an [H]onest, accessible verse... (Ted
Kooser: The PoetryFoundation). Kooser was born in Iowa and now resides in Nebraska. Both
Iowa and Nebraska are situated in the Midwestern United States, an area noted for its rural
landscape and population. Kooser s rural background and accessible verse are exceedingly evident
in his poem Abandoned Farmhouse . The poem is as an observation of an abandoned farmhouse, it
infers details about the house and the family that lived in it through... Show more content on

The second stanza of the poem introduces the women and her child that she and the man share.
This stanza, like the first, is riddled with the use of personification which can be evidenced in the
first line A woman lived with him, says the bedroom wall/papered with lilacs... (Kooser). A lighter,
more positive tone underlies this stanza with the descriptions of the lilac wallpaper and a
...sandbox made from a tractor tire (Kooser). The theme of struggle is reiterated when the narrator
states that Money was scarce and that the winters [were] cold (Kooser). And finally, the last line It
was lonely here, says the narrow country road presents the theme of isolation through the use of
personification (Kooser). This isolation lends itself to the more prevalent theme of struggle,
suggesting that the family has no one else to rely on and is secluded from any possible relief or
help. The third and final stanza leaves the reader to come up with his or her own conclusion as to
what has happened at the farmhouse. Nonetheless, the narrator does state that Something went
wrong thus reintroducing the ominous tone presented in the first stanza and informing the reader
that something bad happened (Kooser). The description of the house as empty solidifies the theme
of abandonment and presents the idea of isolation again.

What Is The Difference Between Classical And Hellenistic Art
When we look back at these two different periods of art sculpture we can see the great difference
between the two stylistic choices of art. Behind each hunk of stone reads perfect anatomy and
certain expressions. One features a more dazed stone face and one gives life for more emotion
made within the stone. The Classical Period and Hellenistic period also look somewhat similar
from a glance are very different in feeling and meaning. The Classical Period started around the 5th
century BC. This period is where artists attempt to capture the human bodyrealistically and create
realistic poses. The most popular subjects were athletic males who are at their peak of their own
fitness. It was not until about 350 BC that there were statues featuring the female body. One very
noteworthy statue of the Classical Period was called Aphrodite of Knidos . The original sculpture
inspired various amounts of copies, but sadly the original itself did not survive. Aphrodite of
Knidos was created by Praxitele and is thought to be the most famous sculptures of Classical
Greece. The sculpture depicts Aphrodite just have taken off her clothes and was about to step
into the bath. She may have had an onlooker and she covered her pelvis from their view. The
Classical Period statues were designed to be a bit more casual, depicting one leg being stretched
forward as the other supports the body and the head tilted to the side. If you look closer at most of
the Classical statues you can see the

The Born Free Usa Task Force
Recommendations The members of the Born Free USA Task Force have a common goal to
provide a solution to increase restrictions for exotic pet ownership, which allows for more
responsible exotic pet ownership and the decreased capacity of danger to the public. In addition, it
will provide for more safety precautions and ensure those exotic animals in captivity are provided
for every day. The first step in our process of analyzing the recommendations of exotic pet
ownership in Missouri was researching the current regulations in other states and what was
working and not working in those states. Currently, every state has varying regulations and within
those states, many cities and counties have assorted regulations as well. Based on the success of
the drastic changes the state of Ohio has made in the exotic animal ownership regulations, their
platform for change is one to model. Ohio was once a state with no restrictions on exotic animal
ownership prior to the 2011 incidence of Terry Thompson, who set free his exotic animal farm of
fifty plus animals before committing suicide. This incident pushed the already in question exotic
pet ownership regulations into national limelight. Our task force has researched the current
restrictions and the process of implementing them along with the undesirable potential side effects
of these new laws. With this information, we were prepared to present a solid foundation for the
state of Missouri to create a new movement in the exotic pet

The Chamber Of Commerce V. Whiting
Alexandra Kulak Issue Analysis Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting 10.24.2014 Chamber of
Commerce v. Whiting was a Supreme Court decision regarding the Legal Arizona Workers Act,
which penalized businesses and proprietors in Arizona that hired illegal immigrants, and required
that businesses check the citizenship status of their potential employees using the e verify system.
Various civil rights groups as well as businesses, collectively titled Chamber of Commerce ,
claimed the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act preempted these statutes in the Arizona
law. The state law was upheld in 2011. Immigration is a contentious issue in politics that seems to
be stagnating. There is a massive population of illegal immigrants, and some people feel they
should be granted amnesty, while others think they should all be deported back to their respective
home countries. The question of how to handle their American born children is another issue
altogether. There are many moral questions to consider. It is controversial, and some state laws,
like the one in question in this court case, raise more questions about how to handle the problem of
illegal immigrants and legal immigrants vying for the same opportunities. The Chamber of
Commerce sued the Governor of Arizona, on the grounds that the statues in the Arizona state law
went beyond what the federal law in place allowed for. It is considered politically correct to not
discriminate, especially when it comes to the hiring in the

Analysis Of The Dead By Billy Collins
The Dead by Billy Collins is an excellent poem about people who have died and what they do while
they are in heaven. Collins describes them as rowing through eternity (line 4) and looking down on
us through their glass bottomed boats (line 3). The poem even has an animation, that shows the
animator, Juan Delcan of the group called Spontaneous, and the animationshows his point of view
on what the poem is and what it means to him. The poem has many poetic devices, and an
animation made of it that describes The Dead, that can help or hinder ones understanding of Billy
Collins poem.
Billy Collins s poem The Dead uses many poetic devices throughout the poem. The whole poem
is an open form poem, meaning that it has no specific style, such as rhyming. The poem also
personified, as the dead are animated, and they seem to be alive as they look down on the people
of earth. Billy Collins has also thrown in some alliteration, line two has two s words and it is shoes
or making a sandwich. . . , the other example of alliteration that Collins put in was two b words in
line three bottom boats of heaven. . . throughout the poem, there is also examples of enjambment;
as there is no break between lines. Lines three and four have this they are looking down through the
glass bottom boats of heaven/as they row themselves through eternity. Lines nine and ten is the
other example of enjambment, as they say, which makes them lift their oars and fall silent/and wait,

A Short Note On The Mexican Fusion Food
Koreatown is located in Central Los Angeles. The neighborhood is one of the most densely
populated districts in Los Angeles County with about 42,611 residents per square mile (3).
Koreatown began with the immigration of Koreans to the Mid Wilshire area and began opening
businesses. Many of the businesses include Korean food restaurants, which have become very
popular recently (10). Despite the name of the neighborhood the community is widely complex and
impacts areas outside their boundaries. Korean food has become one of the many elements that
have influenced the surrounding areas (2). Koreatown once catered to the Korean community yet
as a result of the growing Latino community Korean business owners now target this new
demographic (4). The growing Latino population has led to new business ventures and business
opportunities including new food creations and locations that cater to that. Korean Mexican fusion
food is one of the creations that have emerged from Koreatown, specifically the Korean taco trucks
(9). Koreatown evolving into the neighborhood that it is today, Korean restaurants, and Korean
fusion food have all impacted the Korean Americanexperience in the last fourteen years. However,
as the new food creations have been gaining popularity it leads to the question of whether this
fusion of food has overshadowed the growth of the Korean American community. Korean
immigration to the U.S. has been recent and not as long as the immigration history of their fellow

The Image Processing Techniques For Breast Cancer
Abstract In recent years the image processing techniques are used commonly in various medical
areas for improving earlier detection and treatment stages, in which the time span or elapse is very
important to discover the disease in the patient as possible as fast, especially in many tumours such
as the lung cancer, breast cancer. This system generally first segments the area of interest (lung) and
then analyses the separately obtained area for nodule detection in order to examine the disease.
Even with several lung tumour segmentations have been presented, enhancing tumour segmentation
methods are still interesting because lung tumour CT images has some complex characteristics,
such as large difference in tumour appearance and uncertain tumour boundaries. To address this
problem, tumour segmentation method for CT Images which separates non enhancing lung
tumours from healthy tissues has been carried out by clustering method. The proposed method uses
pre processing technique that remove unwanted artifacts using median and wiener filters. Initially,
the segmentation of the CT images has been carried out by using K Means clustering method. To
the clustered result, EK Mean clustering is applied . Further the features like entrpy, Contrast,
Correlation,Homogenity and the area are extracted from the tumorous part of Fuzzy Ek Means
segmented Image. For feature extraction, statistic method called Gray Level Co occurrence Matrix

Toys Are Today s Society Essay
Toys Are Us
In today s society, parents throughout the United States differ on their views towards children s
toys. Some children face different options and consequences when wanting a toy from the
opposite gender section. Occasionally, you will see in the headlines of a newspaper saying how
progressive a mother is because she allows her son to wear a princess costume. Mainly, the toys
that are aimed towards boys are associated with sports and aggression. Yet for girls, the toys that
are aimed towards them are associated with homemaking and glamor. These qualities are so
recognized and known that I have decided to do an essay on them to see what is alike and what
is different in the areas of the toys. I decided to follow two families for this analysis. These two
families both come from a Mexican culture. In household X, the family is both Mexican and
American. In household Y, the family comes from a strict Mexican culture. In response to my
analysis, based on what I have seen in both of the households I visited, I feel as though the children
should choose what matters to them in relevance to the fun. Allowing the children to have a variety
of toys opens up different skills. Different toys bring different challenges. Parents should not restrict
their children to strong gender toys, as though it could not help them develop physically,
academically, artistically, cognitively, and musically.
In household X, the family of six had a young daughter who is approximately three years

whose family was murdered. The man Jack murdered the rest of his family because the group,
Jack of All Trades, would be destroyed if Bod grew to adulthood. When the man Jack was killing

Suppression of Women in The Yellow Wallpaper
Suppression of Women in The Yellow Wallpaper
The Yellow Wallpaper, by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, tells the story of a woman s descent into
madness as a result of the rest and ignore the problem cure that is frequently prescribed to cure
hysteria and nervous conditions in women. More importantly, the story is about control and attacks
the role of women in society. The narrator of the story is symbolic for all women in the late 1800s,
a prisoner of a confining society. Women are expected to bear children, keep house and do only as
they are told. Since men are privileged enough to have education, they hold jobs and make all the

However, the narrator thinks otherwise:

Personally, I believe that congenial work, with excitement and change, would do me good.

Clearly, the narrator thinks that a life void of any work or excitement will not be helpful or aid
her on the road to recovery. The question she asks herself at the end of this paragraph, however,
exemplifies her oppressed stature in society. She asks herself not once, not twice, but three
times what someone in her position is to do: And what can one do? (1), What is one to do? (1),
But what is one to do? (1). Repetition of these questions demonstrates that the narrator cannot do
anything to change her life because her husband society controls what she can and cannot do.
The narrator s writing also falls under this category because writing is looked down upon in
society as a profession for women. Because of society s oppressive nature, the narrator is unable

Tanguy s Painting The Earth And The Air
The earth and the air is an oil painting by the French Surrealist Yves Tanguy. It is one of the
modern art paintings in the Cone Collection, in the Baltimore Museum of Art. It is created by
Tanguy in 1941. It is about 30 x 40 wide with a wooden frame. The background colors divide the
piece into mainly two sections, the top and the bottom part. The top part is about 3/5 of the whole
piece. It is painted in blue and white, like a watercolor like sky without any subject matters. It has a
dreamy feeling because the colors blend smoothly.

The larger pieces are in the front while the objects in the back are smaller. Also the cast black
shadows of the objects are distinct with clear edges and more than one light spots are found in the

and shine to the objects.
It is assumed that the main focus of the painting is the bottom part because the objects are placed
there and they draw viewers attention first. They are realistic but abstract and evenly distributed
on the page. They look like modern sculptures not only with alien shapes but also innovative
colors. There are a group of building like shapes on the most front of the painting. They are
connected at the bottom part so they can be described as a group. They have different dimensions
and one of them has a very sharp part pointing upwards to the melting land between the ground and
the sky. There are several alien objects around the main group, which some of them are really tiny
but still are painted precisely. There is a transparent objectin between the middle ground and the
background on the left hand side of the painting. The whole shape blends into the background
because of its transparency. Also it is because there is not enough light shinning to the object to
make it easily visible. One of the interesting about the painting is there are two super tiny spots
near the transparent object. They are painted clearly and you can see them only on closer

The genres of this book are drama and friendship, but you can also find a small dose of comedy and
a little love story in this book.
I mean that the main idea of the story is that friendship and acceptance sometimes can be the
difference between life and death. That you should accept people as they are, and don`t judge
them before you know their whole story. In this case, everybody, except Stanly, judged Zero (or
Hector, as he was later known as) and thought he was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Stanley isn`t too surprised when he in unjustly is sent to a boys detention center, Camp Green
Lake, where the boys were told to build character by spending all day digging holes exactly five feet
wide and five feet deep.
It does not take long for Stanley to realize there is more than character improvement going on at
Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holes because the warden is looking for something. But
what could be buried under a dried up lake? Stanley tries to dig up the truth in this humorous and
child friendly book, that will leave you speechless.
The story of Holes switches back and forth between the present and the past. It is actually hard to

Ethics in the Editing Business
The Ethics of Editing
In the editing business, there are particular ethical codes that should be adhered to by all those
involved in the profession. Professional editors Tod Roberts and Mary Schendlinger both suggest
that some of the most fundamental principles of ethics in editing include the editor s responsibility
to the writers, to society/readers, and to the editing profession itself. An editor s objective is to
adequately balance the writer s needs, the industry s standards, and the reader s expectations so as
to produce a story that satisfies all three.
One of the very important ethical codes that editors should always remember is to treat all writers
and their works with respect equally. Authors have their own unique styles, forms of writing, and
voice and that should not be diminished as long as it does not directly impact the writing in a
negative manner. An editor s responsibility to polish and refine a writing. They will help guide a
story s focus along a certain path and direct the audience s to major points that they need to be
aware of. Editors also cut out extraneous parts that prove to be nonessential to the story s purpose.
At the same time, editors must always consider the writer s feelings or opinions and should always
use tact when making suggestions so as to reduce the possibility of discord between the author and
the editor. When such disagreements do arise, the editor must attempt to reach a compromise with
the author. Editors do often have the

Similarities Between Sita And Sita
Objective of my summer project is to compare and contrast the personality and life of our two

Draupadi, however, does not get the pleasure of raising her children; they are sent to the house

Drona s son who refuses to take defeat lying down. The kingdom of the Pandavas is passed on to
the grandson of one of Arjuna s other wives. Both Sita and Draupadi are trophies in an archery
contest. Ram breaks a mighty bow that he was supposed to string to win Sita s hand while
Arjuna strikes the eye of a fish rotating on a wheel hanging from the ceiling to win Draupadi s
hand. Some Ramayana retellings tell us of how Sita met Ram in a garden before marriage and it
was love at first sight, there is no such romance in Draupadi s life. In fact, she prevents Karna
from participating in the archery contest as he is of low caste and ends up marrying a brahmin
who turns out to be Arjuna disguised. Sita s sister and cousins are given in marriage to Ram s
brothers. Draupadi is shared by Arjuna s four brothers, all of whom have many other wives. Thus
while Sita experiences monogamy, Draupadi experiences polyandry and

Martin Luther King and Two other Reasons the Human Race...
Human beings are the epitome of contradictory. As a whole we have so many accomplishments to
take pride in, yet at the same time we have caused so many tragedies where the means do not
justify the ends. Regardless of the fact that we are the utmost confusing race to ever exist, human
beings should be spared from the wrath of the aliens because humanbeings are constantly
developing and surely that is something to be proud of. Throughout the genealogy of all human
beings, there have been specific human beings who were born and changed the way we have lived
forever. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. The man has a day reserved to him in honor of his
social accomplishment. If that does not speak the magnitude of significance about this human
accomplishment, then I do not understand what will. Martin Luther King Jr. fought against the
socially corrupt principal of racism under a society who severally persecuted anyone who tried to
swim against the current of racism. Not only did he fight racism, he fought it with his piercing
words instead of physical weapons. Under all odds a human being changed not only the hearts and
minds of the human race, but the social manners that Martin Luther King Jr. believed should be
within all humans: everybody in this Earth is equal. His social revamp also created a causal chain.
Although overcoming racism carries large importance, Martin Luther King Jr. s accomplishment
resonates to other generations beyond his. Even today we are fighting

The Dream Argument by Rene Descartes Essay
One of Rene Descartes s most famous arguments, from his not only from his first meditation but
all of the meditations, is his Dream Argument. Descartes believes that there is no way to be able
to distinguish being in awake from being in a state of dreaming. In fact you could actually be in a
dream right now. Rene Descartes s theory that one is unable distinguish being awake from
dreaming, as interesting as it is, can be at times a little farfetched, along with a few contradictions
to himself, Descartes s dreamargument does not entitle himself to any sort of claim.
Descartes wrote the Meditations on First Philosophy were first published in the year 1641 in Latin.

It is deception from the sense that causes this mistrust for Descartes and brings forth the Dream
Argument. The human senses as well feel very real, just as they do in reality, and this is one of
the first things that have Descartes question the differences between being awake and dream.
Due to the trust issues it he becomes unsure of whether he is dreaming or not. When it comes to
dreaming Descartes thinks that there could possibility that some certain God that may have
easily deceived him in falsely believing in things could appear to be correct but are not.
However Descartes says that it God is described as a supremely good being (Descartes, 21). God
has always been a being that is worshiped and why would so many people worship an evil God if
he brings no positives to their lives. Descartes however is not 100 percent positive on whether God
is being deceptive or not being deceptive. James Hill says that [the] key move that Descartes then
makes is to highlight the lack of insight one has into one s condition when dreaming. It is this lack
of insight, and Descartes way of interpreting it, which forms the backbone of the dreaming
argument (Hill, 2). To shorten that down, the minimal explanations to why and how dreams occur
is the foundation for Descartes s Dream Argument.
The main idea of Descartes is that there is no difference between being awake and dreaming.
Descartes says there are no definite signs to differ dreaming from being awake. You could be

Introduction The five sources that I have selected to help with my enquiry are photographs, an
extract from a newspaper article and a soldier s diary. The reasons why I chose these five
particular sources is because I believe that they are a wide variety of selections, dating back to
many years, all ranging from the start of the war to the end of the war. However, one of my
sources, the newspaper article, was published in 2008 so it is more of a recent source but still, very

They could fire up to six hundred rounds per minute and was able to cut down the lines of
attackers causing huge casualties. Machinery guns was used on the Western Front to bring
down/cut down the lines of attackers very easily. There were many more weapons used.
However, this source does not show any of these weapons or how it is being used at the Western
Front. It also does not tell us or show us how many people were injured or died in the first battle
of the Somme, but from my own knowledge I know that there were sixty thousand casualties on
the first day of the battle of the Somme. Casualties includes both dead and wounded. The normal
proportion was about four wounded for every man killed, so approximately twelve thousand died
and fourty eight thousand were wounded. Because this photograph is quite a close up one you
begin to question whether or not this image was actually staged. The soldiers are actually looking
at the camera and smiling which makes you question the reliability of the source. I also happen to
know that it would have been pretty hard for a person to have taken a photograph of the trenches
close up. There were shells everywhere; it would have been really dangerous

Contradictory Nature Of The American Identity
When the United States of America was created as an independent country at the end of the
Revolutionary War against Great Britain, the roots of an entirely new American identity took hold.
Though taking influence from its former parent country, the United States began its own system of
representative government. Furthermore, the American identity (shaped in the early years of 1775
to 1830) incorporated the ideals of agrarian farming, laissez faire economics, and capitalism.
Religion, though not a primary influence on the government, also contributed to the shaping of this
identity. While this largely benefited the American citizens, another group in the United Stateswas
affected in other ways. African slaves and their American born children were ignored by the
Constitution which, in its original form, only referred to slaves as other persons , but the
contradictory nature of the new American identity both lead to greater freedom and more
widespread bondage. Slaves and freedom alike suffered under, exploited, and coped with the aspects
of agrarian farming and agriculture in general, capitalism, and Christianity in America.
The American Revolution began the contradictory nature of the American identity as it applied to
slaves. The event that began the independence of the American personality also triggered the first
opportunities for freedom and assimilation for Black Americans. For example, in Virginia in 1775,
Lord Dunmore, the British governor of Virginia, declared that

poem around the simple day in day out lives, that is themselves talk about the way we sometimes
refuse to change our own lives, while the poem uses the sun as an element as the endless loop
that is life and how we keep it the way it is. Threshing s main element is the sun. In many ways, as
you read the poem, you can see that the sun can be seen as the main character in the poem. It
dictates the working men s work, their timeof relaxing, how long they are alond to feel free during

They wake up, go to work, work the full day, come home, and deal with their seemingly difficult
families. They don t search for a better way of life even though they drink and are displeased
with how their home life is. They seem pleased with their work. It is uncomplicated, like them.
They do the physical work, get paid, and go home. The displeasure doesn t come from their
working life, but from the displeasing wives they live with. They don t seem to seek better
women to be with. They stay with the woman they are unhappy with and use their work as an
escape instead. It is possible that they create their own stress with their own inner issues that
they project as the women being the root of it, pointing the finger away from themselves so they
will never have to go through the process improving themselves. They are unable or unwilling to
change or work to improve their lives which, in total, leave them stuck in an endless unchanging
loop much like the rising and setting of the sun. In all, Louise Gluck s poem Threshing talks
about more than the rising and setting of the sun, and the Picasso painting of the working day
ofg these men. The poem implies the connections of the patterns we keep ourselves in if we aren t
open to change and self improvement, and the endlessness of it as time passes. If we aren t able to
find all the little ways to be happier we will always be stuck in a loop of misery no matter where
we are or how many days

Team Building and Development
It takes extraordinary leadership to assemble great teams. Leaders who are not reluctant to course
right, making challenging choices and launch principles of implementation that are continually
being met and enhancing them at all times. Whether in the working environment, expert sports, or
our nearby community, team building needs a keen understanding of individuals, their merits and
what makes them eager to work with others. Llopis mentioned, Team building is both an art and a
science and the manager who constantly brings out great performance teams is worth their weight
in gold (2012).
Building organizations needs the knowledge and skill to build ever lasting teams. This is the reason
why most managers can never become leaders and why most leaders never achieve the utmost
summit of success. It involves the knack to ace the craft of individuals and knowing how to move
hundreds of individuals at the right place and at the right time. It means to know how each
individual thinks and how to best use their skills properly at all times. It s like playing a continuous
match of chess realizing that each incorrect move can cost the organization thousands of dollars, if
not millions (Llopis, 2012).

Switching Techniques Can Be Classified Based On Network...
Switching Techniques: Switching techniques can be classified based on network characteristics.
The main task of switching technique is to establish connection between input and output channel
inside the router. Circuit switched networks reserve a physical path before transmitting the data
packets, while packet switched networks transmit the packets without reserving the entire path.
Packet switched networks for communications within large multi core systems on chip are made for
enhanced performance, scalability, modularity, and design productivity compared to busses and
dedicated signal wires (R. Mutha, 2012). Circuit Switching Technique: In this technique an
electrical interconnection is established between the source and destination and then the message is
transmitted. This technique pre allocates resources or links across more than one hop to the entire
message. Links must be reserved to transmit the entire message. For that a small setup message also
called as a probe is sent into the network and reservation for the links needed to transmit the entire
message or multiple messages is done from the source to the destination. Once the probe reaches the
destination (having successfully allocated the necessary links), the destination sends back an
acknowledgement message to the source. As soon as the source receives the acknowledgement
message, the message will be released by the source then the message can travel quickly through the
network. When the

The Experience Of An Exchange Student Experience
Butter
I remember waking up from my nap. Airplane was jolting because of the turbulence. My head
was aching by the pressure caused by high altitude. Suddenly the belt lights went on. Pilot
started his speech. He told us we were 10 15 minutes away from landing in New York JFK
Airport. I checked my watch. It was still in my country s timezone. I asked the person that sat
next to me for the time. He casually showed me his wrist watch and asked me where I was from.
He was a short but bulky man with a thick accent that I didn t know where it was from. I told him
I was an exchange student coming from Turkey. We had a pleasant chat with him for that last 20
minutes of our flight. Upon leaving the aircraft, I saw another Turkish exchange student which
was also a friend of mine. She was very pleased to see me. She told me about the person that sat
next to her in the plane and how loud he snored. After waiting for all the other exchange students,
our chaperon led the way to baggage claim. Our chaperon traveled with us from Turkey. He was
also with us during our training and exchange student camps. Very sarcastic but also very like able
guy. He helped us get through every rough moment in our camps and training. And now he was
with us during our final moments. After claiming every baggage of every student, we moved to a
corner that was unoccupied. We hugged each other goodbyes, and shook hands. It was a weird
feeling that I had at that moment. Looking back, I didn t

The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Of Ukraine
Radiation Disperses after Nuclear plant Explosion in Northeast Ukraine On April 26th, 1986,
the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine dramatically changed the world s
opinion about using nuclear reaction for power. At 1:23am, reactor four exploded, releasing
more than a hundred times the radiation of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
(Rosenberg, 2014). As a result of the incident and producing fire, large amounts of radioactive
material were consequently released into the environment. The accident caused the largest
uncontrolled radioactive release into the environment ever recorded for any civilian operation,
and large quantities of radioactive substances were released into the air for about 10 days. This
caused serious social and economic disruption for large populations in Belarus, Russia and
Ukraine (Chernobyl Accident, 2014). While the radiological impact from this disaster was
minimal outside of Russian and Ukraine, it did bring to light the risks associated with the use of
nuclear energy across the global stage. Over the next sixteen years, world leaders devoted their
attention to conducting reactor safety studies, as well as improving emergency preparedness for
public workers and these industries. Located in Northern Ukraine, the Chernobyl nuclear power
plant is situated just approximately 80 miles north of Kiev, and just over 12 miles south from the
Belarus border. The power plants first reactor became operational in 1977, with the

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conscription is the idea of compulsory enlistment for a state service, typically into the armed forces. The controversy between pro and anti conscription divided the Australian population during the course of the war. Conscription was mainly supported by those who had never stepped foot near a battlefield. Propaganda played a large role in pressuring men into enlisting. An example of where propaganda pressured men into volunteering for the Australian Imperial Force, is Appendix 1. The motive of this poster is successful as it implies that fathers would be shameful to ignore the plight of women as well as, promoting a sense of guilt. Anti conscription propaganda also depicted or appealed to women. For instance, anti conscriptionists would call a vote for conscription, a blood vote, reminding women they were possibly sending men to their deaths. This strategy of manipulating people s emotions proved to work as in Dec 1917, the 2nd referendum on conscription rejected it. This debate influenced the entirety of Australian society as citizens were bombarded with propaganda and the opinions of others. A lighter, more positive tone underlies this stanza with the descriptions of the lilac wallpaper and a ...sandbox made from a tractor tire (Kooser). The theme of struggle is reiterated when the narrator states that Money was scarce and that the winters [were] cold (Kooser). And finally, the last line It was lonely here, says the narrow country road presents the theme of isolation through the use of personification (Kooser). This isolation lends itself to the more prevalent theme of struggle, suggesting that the family has no one else to rely on and is secluded from any possible relief or help. The third and final stanza leaves the reader to come up with his or her own conclusion as to what has happened at the farmhouse. Nonetheless, the narrator does state that Something went wrong thus reintroducing the ominous tone presented in the first stanza and informing the reader that something bad happened (Kooser). The description of the house as empty solidifies the theme of abandonment and presents the idea of isolation again. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some children face different options and consequences when wanting a toy from the opposite gender section. Occasionally, you will see in the headlines of a newspaper saying how progressive a mother is because she allows her son to wear a princess costume. Mainly, the toys that are aimed towards boys are associated with sports and aggression. Yet for girls, the toys that are aimed towards them are associated with homemaking and glamor. These qualities are so recognized and known that I have decided to do an essay on them to see what is alike and what is different in the areas of the toys. I decided to follow two families for this analysis. These two families both come from a Mexican culture. In household X, the family is both Mexican and American. In household Y, the family comes from a strict Mexican culture. In response to my analysis, based on what I have seen in both of the households I visited, I feel as though the children should choose what matters to them in relevance to the fun. Allowing the children to have a variety of toys opens up different skills. Different toys bring different challenges. Parents should not restrict their children to strong gender toys, as though it could not help them develop physically, academically, artistically, cognitively, and musically. • 24. Ethics in the Editing Business The Ethics of Editing In the editing business, there are particular ethical codes that should be adhered to by all those involved in the profession. Professional editors Tod Roberts and Mary Schendlinger both suggest that some of the most fundamental principles of ethics in editing include the editor s responsibility to the writers, to society/readers, and to the editing profession itself. An editor s objective is to adequately balance the writer s needs, the industry s standards, and the reader s expectations so as to produce a story that satisfies all three. One of the very important ethical codes that editors should always remember is to treat all writers and their works with respect equally. Authors have their own unique styles, forms of writing, and voice and that should not be diminished as long as it does not directly impact the writing in a negative manner. An editor s responsibility to polish and refine a writing. They will help guide a story s focus along a certain path and direct the audience s to major points that they need to be aware of. Editors also cut out extraneous parts that prove to be nonessential to the story s purpose. At the same time, editors must always consider the writer s feelings or opinions and should always use tact when making suggestions so as to reduce the possibility of discord between the author and the editor. When such disagreements do arise, the editor must attempt to reach a compromise with the author. Editors do often have the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a whole we have so many accomplishments to take pride in, yet at the same time we have caused so many tragedies where the means do not justify the ends. Regardless of the fact that we are the utmost confusing race to ever exist, human beings should be spared from the wrath of the aliens because humanbeings are constantly developing and surely that is something to be proud of. Throughout the genealogy of all human beings, there have been specific human beings who were born and changed the way we have lived forever. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. The man has a day reserved to him in honor of his social accomplishment. If that does not speak the magnitude of significance about this human accomplishment, then I do not understand what will. Martin Luther King Jr. fought against the socially corrupt principal of racism under a society who severally persecuted anyone who tried to swim against the current of racism. Not only did he fight racism, he fought it with his piercing words instead of physical weapons. • 28. The Dream Argument by Rene Descartes Essay One of Rene Descartes s most famous arguments, from his not only from his first meditation but all of the meditations, is his Dream Argument. Descartes believes that there is no way to be able to distinguish being in awake from being in a state of dreaming. In fact you could actually be in a dream right now. Rene Descartes s theory that one is unable distinguish being awake from dreaming, as interesting as it is, can be at times a little farfetched, along with a few contradictions to himself, Descartes s dreamargument does not entitle himself to any sort of claim. The human senses as well feel very real, just as they do in reality, and this is one of the first things that have Descartes question the differences between being awake and dream. Due to the trust issues it he becomes unsure of whether he is dreaming or not. When it comes to dreaming Descartes thinks that there could possibility that some certain God that may have easily deceived him in falsely believing in things could appear to be correct but are not. However Descartes says that it God is described as a supremely good being (Descartes, 21). God has always been a being that is worshiped and why would so many people worship an evil God if he brings no positives to their lives. Descartes however is not 100 percent positive on whether God is being deceptive or not being deceptive. James Hill says that [the] key move that Descartes then makes is to highlight the lack of insight one has into one s condition when dreaming. It is this lack of insight, and Descartes way of interpreting it, which forms the backbone of the dreaming argument (Hill, 2). To shorten that down, the minimal explanations to why and how dreams occur is the foundation for Descartes s Dream Argument. The main idea of Descartes is that there is no difference between being awake and dreaming. Descartes says there are no definite signs to differ dreaming from being awake. You could be possibly ... • 31. Contradictory Nature Of The American Identity When the United States of America was created as an independent country at the end of the Revolutionary War against Great Britain, the roots of an entirely new American identity took hold. Though taking influence from its former parent country, the United States began its own system of representative government. Furthermore, the American identity (shaped in the early years of 1775 to 1830) incorporated the ideals of agrarian farming, laissez faire economics, and capitalism. Religion, though not a primary influence on the government, also contributed to the shaping of this identity. While this largely benefited the American citizens, another group in the United Stateswas affected in other ways. African slaves and their American born children were ignored by the Constitution which, in its original form, only referred to slaves as other persons , but the contradictory nature of the new American identity both lead to greater freedom and more widespread bondage. Slaves and freedom alike suffered under, exploited, and coped with the aspects of agrarian farming and agriculture in general, capitalism, and Christianity in America. The American Revolution began the contradictory nature of the American identity as it applied to slaves. The event that began the independence of the American personality also triggered the first opportunities for freedom and assimilation for Black Americans. Louis Gluck centers her poem around the simple day in day out lives, that is themselves talk about the way we sometimes refuse to change our own lives, while the poem uses the sun as an element as the endless loop that is life and how we keep it the way it is. Threshing s main element is the sun. In many ways, as you read the poem, you can see that the sun can be seen as the main character in the poem. It dictates the working men s work, their timeof relaxing, how long they are alond to feel free during their time or relaxing, when they must go back to their stressful home life and when they must return back to work as though it is an endless in escapable loop... They don t search for a better way of life even though they drink and are displeased with how their home life is. They seem pleased with their work. It is uncomplicated, like them. They do the physical work, get paid, and go home. The displeasure doesn t come from their working life, but from the displeasing wives they live with. They don t seem to seek better women to be with. They stay with the woman they are unhappy with and use their work as an escape instead. It is possible that they create their own stress with their own inner issues that they project as the women being the root of it, pointing the finger away from themselves so they will never have to go through the process improving themselves. They are unable or unwilling to change or work to improve their lives which, in total, leave them stuck in an endless unchanging loop much like the rising and setting of the sun. The poem implies the connections of the patterns we keep ourselves in if we aren t open to change and self improvement, and the endlessness of it as time passes. The main task of switching technique is to establish connection between input and output channel inside the router. Circuit switched networks reserve a physical path before transmitting the data packets, while packet switched networks transmit the packets without reserving the entire path. Packet switched networks for communications within large multi core systems on chip are made for enhanced performance, scalability, modularity, and design productivity compared to busses and dedicated signal wires (R. • 44. The Experience Of An Exchange Student Experience Butter I remember waking up from my nap. Airplane was jolting because of the turbulence. My head was aching by the pressure caused by high altitude. Suddenly the belt lights went on. Pilot started his speech. He told us we were 10 15 minutes away from landing in New York JFK Airport. I checked my watch. It was still in my country s timezone. I asked the person that sat next to me for the time. He casually showed me his wrist watch and asked me where I was from. He was a short but bulky man with a thick accent that I didn t know where it was from. I told him I was an exchange student coming from Turkey. We had a pleasant chat with him for that last 20 minutes of our flight. Upon leaving the aircraft, I saw another Turkish exchange student which was also a friend of mine. She was very pleased to see me. She told me about the person that sat next to her in the plane and how loud he snored. After waiting for all the other exchange students, our chaperon led the way to baggage claim. Our chaperon traveled with us from Turkey. He was also with us during our training and exchange student camps. Very sarcastic but also very like able guy. He helped us get through every rough moment in our camps and training. And now he was with us during our final moments. After claiming every baggage of every student, we moved to a corner that was unoccupied. We hugged each other goodbyes, and shook hands. It was a weird feeling that I had at that moment. Looking back, I didn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Of Ukraine Radiation Disperses after Nuclear plant Explosion in Northeast Ukraine On April 26th, 1986, the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine dramatically changed the world s opinion about using nuclear reaction for power. At 1:23am, reactor four exploded, releasing more than a hundred times the radiation of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Rosenberg, 2014). As a result of the incident and producing fire, large amounts of radioactive material were consequently released into the environment. The accident caused the largest uncontrolled radioactive release into the environment ever recorded for any civilian operation, and large quantities of radioactive substances were released into the air for about 10 days. This caused serious social and economic disruption for large populations in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine (Chernobyl Accident, 2014). While the radiological impact from this disaster was minimal outside of Russian and Ukraine, it did bring to light the risks associated with the use of nuclear energy across the global stage. Over the next sixteen years, world leaders devoted their attention to conducting reactor safety studies, as well as improving emergency preparedness for public workers and these industries. Located in Northern Ukraine, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is situated just approximately 80 miles north of Kiev, and just over 12 miles south from the Belarus border. The power plants first reactor became operational in 1977, with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
