The World s 10 Largest Firms And Their Sources Of Economies
Name Tutor Institution Course Date 1. The world s 10 largest firms and their sources of economies of
scale The two conventional financial clarifications for the development of firms have been economies
of scale and economies of degree. Economies of scale emerge when a firm brings down its every unit
generation expenses of a specific item by creating in more prominent amount. Division of work
through specialization is one reason every unit expenses diminish as generation increments. Adam
Smith depicted in the eighteenth century how a pin plant can expand its yield essentially if every
specialist over and over performs a particular undertaking in the creation prepare as opposed to having
every laborer freely make complete pins without any preparation (Ayyagari,2011). In current MNCs,
economies of scale exist in view of division of work as well as by consolidating, and regularly
supplanting, human work with automated generation. Interest in substantial scale creation gear and the
most recent innovations is by and large exceptionally extravagant. Organizations that have substantial
economies of scale have solid points of interest over their rivals in light of the fact that they have
logistic or value preferences, and in this way pull in more clients and set their size preference
considerably more. It makes a criticism circle of achievement that adversaries have a troublesome
time managing. Organizations that contend with bigger opponents have cost and

Girls On The Run Essay
Executive Summary We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience based
curriculum which creatively integrates running. This is the mission of the Girls on the Run
organization and they strive to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical
development in girls from the ages of eight to thirteen years old. Their main objective is to educate
and empower these girls at their early ages in order to prevent the display of at risk activities such as
alcohol abuse, eating disorders, pre marital sexual activity, depression, suicide, and other
confrontational behavior in the future. The organization is growing rapidly around the United States
and Canada; State College being the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Girls on the run will also provide a constructive use of time as they engage in healthy activities that
are physically, emotionally, and socially beneficial. However, because Girls on the Run is a new
organization to State College, it is less known and parents and children may be less receptive and
willing to enroll in the program. Another weakness that Girls on the Run will face is having the start
up funds necessary to host various special events and activities. In addition to analyzing the
organizations weaknesses, it is also important to evaluate the opportunities that they can bring to the
area. Girls on the Run has the opportunity to introduce a new and innovative program to the State
College area that would promote good health and fitness. This is especially important due to the
current grow in the child obesity rate. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the
percentage of children aged 6 11 years old in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in
1980 to nearly 20% in 2008. In terms of threats, Girls on the Run will have to compete will the other
organizations that are held within the various schools that they choose to implement the program in.
The State College area school district alone already has more than eighty extracurricular options
available for interested students. At the Park Forest Elementary School, some of these activities
include K.I.D.S which stands for Kids

Urban Farming Experience Paper
My experience at DePaul s Community and Involvement fair was a bit overwhelming to say the least.
I was so inspired to join so many politically active organizations. I ve signed up to join Depaul
Democrats, DePaul Community Peacemakers, International Socialist Organization, and DePaul s
Urban Farming Organization. The reason why I consider DePaul s Urban Farming Organization to be
a politically active organization is because urban farming allows urban communities to obtain
healthier, fresher, and cost reducing foods. One other organization also got me thinking, I never really
did consider myself a socialist before, but after share ideas and opinions with the International
Socialist Organization, I firmly believe it is a human right to acquire food, shelter, and an education. I
am very curious to see what International Socialist Organization has in stores for me. Not only did I

John Fitzgerald Kennedy
John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States of America, served as president from
January 20th, 1961 to November 22nd, 1963, the day of his death and the day after the assassination
attempt by Lee Harvey Oswald. Mr. Kennedy was arguably most famous for his role in the Cuban
Missile Crisis of 1962, where he, as president, made the decision to find more peaceful resolutions to
the threats associated with a Castro led Cuba possessing nuclear weapons rather than using the violent
courses of actions suggested by the other members of the Executive Committee of the National
Security Council, or EXCOMM. During the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, John F. Kennedy averted a

Although John Kennedy managed to achieve this great feat against communism, he did overstep some
of the rights as President. It was a very risky order to blockade Cuban waters and coastlines, and it
could have easily started a full scale war between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. If a Soviet vessel had
refused to comply with U.S. orders to halt, they may have been fired on by one of the many nearby
American ships. Several Soviet ships were also boarded and inspected by American sailors ( 32 ). The
chance of war breaking out was very real, but it did not occur due to Premier Khrushchev ordering an
immediate return of all Soviet Navy ships headed to Cuba. The blockade was not to be removed until
all Soviet missiles were removed from the Cuban island ( CAPITAL HOPEFUL: Plans to End
Blockade as Soon as Moscow Lives Up to Vow. ). Kennedy s standing up against the USSR showed
the American people just how capable and strong leader was. Because of this, he is often considered to

The effective decision system of corporate strategic planning must start with a strong organization.
Enterprises in determining the strategic planning system, the corresponding processes must be
designed so that the audit in the enterprise between various departments, as well as the correlation
between their activities and planning, influence each other and mutual dependence. Generally
speaking, due to the historical development of each enterprise, decision making habits, thinking mode
of different leaders, led to its approach in formulating strategic planning system is also different. The

The Writing Of The Barbarian
The barbarian snarled, a war cry bursting from his lips as he ambled toward me. His leather boots
kicked dust up from the arena floor as he moved in a slow circle, trying to get his back to the sun and
diminish my line of sight. It was a good trick, but there was just one problem with that. I knew what
he was trying to do.
Even if I could keep him from blinding me, that hulking axe of his would do some major damage. If
he hit me with that, no amount of blocking would keep my head from getting caved in like a casaba
melon. Unfortunately, I was only good up close. I d have to engage him sooner or later, and since his
arms were longer than mine, I d have to be quick. Even a cursory blow from him would mean trouble
since the wardings on his gauntlets let me know he had ogre strength.
That said, I d done this dance a million times before. The key was to not get frazzled. No, I had to stay
calm. If I was calm, I could win. At least in theory. Unfortunately, it was always easier to tell yourself
to be calm than to actually calm down. On the other hand, it was always a lot easier to piss the other
guy off.
Have you heard the one about your mother? I asked, a grin melting across my face as I stepped back,
trying to put space between me and his big axe. The muscles in his legs twitched as I spoke, letting me
know he was about to attack. You probably have, it s huge.
Another snarl tore from his throat as he leapt toward me, huge twin bladed axe cleaving through the
air in a

Child Behavior And Language Assessment
The postulate we chose to research is from the social participation frame of reference. It states that if
routine is provided for difficult or disorganizing activities, children will develop calmer and more
cooperative behaviors during those activities (Olson, 2010). When researching for an article that either
supported or refuted the postulate, Family Centered Intervention for Young Children at risk for
Language and Behavior Problems was found. The study was initiated by dividing forty one randomly
selected children, ages 3 5 years, with potential language and behavioral difficulties into a control
group or intervention group receiving adult support (Chao, Bryan, Burstein, Ergul, 2006). The purpose
was to explore the impact parent involvement and routines have on the development of socially
acceptable behavior and language in children (Chao et al., 2006). Parents were asked to rate various
aspects of their child, such as motor skills and behavior, then decide activities in the Child Behavior
and Language Assessment (CBLA) to focus on and review intermittently in a log to help conclude if
the intervention was beneficial or not (Chao et al., 2006). The intervention was based on the reviews
and opinions of the parents and occasional professional observation. CBLA is comprised of
assessments of children s language and behavior, and routine based activities assisting the
establishment of language and ideal behavior (Chao et al., 2006). The

Development Of Building Codes Of South Korea Essay
BILD 364 Building Code Compliance
Assignment 1: Development of Building Codes
Development of Building Codes in
South Korea
Glen Stricot Tarboton
Due 23rd March 2016
Introduction
Seoul, South Korea, has grown rapidly since the Korean War of the 1950 s to become the worlds
second largest metropolitan area with over 23 million residents in 2014 (National Statistics Office ( 통
계청)). This growth has occurred economically as well, with an average GDP increase of 10 percent
between 1962 and 1994 (The World Bank). This report looks into the development of South Korean
building codes. Figure 1: Timeline of Significant Events in South Korea s Building History The 1970 s
oil crisis occurred when an oil embargo was imposed by members of the Organization of Arab
Petroleum Exporting Countries. This led to fuel shortages and high prices around the world
(History.com). Due to Korea s limited resources, it imports all of its coal, oil and natural gas. At the
time of the United States Department of Energy s report into Building Energy Codes in the Republic
of Korea, Korea was the second largest importer of coal and one of the largest for oil and natural gas.
It also reported an emission of 515 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide by the country in the year 2006
(Evans, Chon and Shui).
Early Building Standards
The first official building standard came into effect in 1977. It was a result of the 1970 s oil crisis.
This outlined the mandatory building standards of insulation thickness.

Ulcerative Colitis Connotations Of Tragedies
The word diagnosis had connotations of tragedy in my head, mostly because of movie depictions of
the diagnosis of cancer, which feature drama and despair. The meaning of diagnosis changed for me
on the fourth of January, 2012, when I heard the words Ulcerative Colitis for the first time. The words
flew over my head as I stared out the car window, eagerly awaiting my first solid food over twenty
four hours, and when I reflected on that moment for the first time, it didn t even qualify as a diagnosis
to me because of the anticlimactic mood. In my experience, the diagnosis mattered very little in
comparison to the disease, despite what I expected. At first, the worst aspect of Ulcerative Colitis was
the isolation I felt. Middle school was

Uniformity In The Tudor Period
The Tudor monarchy was always weaker and more vulnerable than its image suggested.
I agree with the statement as there is too much information to disagree with it.
The Tudor period was unique, in the way that it s monarchy was troubled by many things, mainly poor
health, short lives and often, very few children, especially male heirs that lived passed infancy. Henry
VIII seemed to be a rather powerful leader, but in actual fact, he was just a front. He mainly delegated
a lot of the work to Woolsey, and his other advisors. Henry often had other pursuits that he deemed
more important, for example, by he was very enamoured with Anne Boleyn, and conversed often with
her. He wrote her many letters, professing his love and telling her he will ... Show more content on

A new religion was formed, alliances with the pope broken and a new English bible was created.
These all caused many different reactions with the general public. Mainly, there was resentment

It was mainly the principle).

There was also another instance where religious conformity failed. This was when Qeen Mary of

The Role Of English On The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
PROSPECTUS
Background of the Project
The role of English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Languages have a prominent status in all
societies and in all developed and developing countries. The languages take this status because they
are devices for communicating between humans. In many countries, there is more than one language
that the people speak. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for example, the Arabic language is the official
language in the country, and the English language is the second language that the citizens speak. The
English language has a remarkable role in various sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

a big role in the employment system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al seghayer (2012) asserts,

History of English teaching and methodology: Teaching English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has
undergone several changes. The starting of teaching English was in 1925 (Liton, 2012). This starting
point was different between public schools and private schools. First, the government established
public schools, and the Ministry of Education managed them. As a result, these schools do not charge
any tuition to the people who live in Saudi Arabia. The English language was taught from seventh
grade to twelfth grade in public schools. The method of teaching English in public schools

Grit Is The Only Thing That Separates The Most Successful...
According to Dr. Travis Bradberry, Grit is that extra something that separates the most successful
people from the rest. It s the passion, perseverance, and stamina that we must channel in order to stick
with our dreams until they become a reality ( Travis Bradberry Quotes ). Having grit in life is
essentially the same as having hope and being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Grit is the
ability to remain strong in the face of adversity and the backbone to stand firm. At times, grit is the
only thing that pushes one forward in life. In the face of suffering and fear, women have overcome
adversity, abuse, trauma, and tragedy through their strength, survival, resiliency, determination, and

Business Process Of Small Business
Introduction The process of small business creation requires that entrepreneurs engage significant
analysis and planning. There are many considerations that a potential small business owner must make
to ensure that they are making not only the best decisions for the business itself, but for them as
individuals. Entrepreneurs must identify things such as the product(s) and/or service(s) they wish to
offer to their customers, how they will market their offerings, where they will locate their business,
how they will manage that business, etc. All of these elements play a critical role in the successful
operations and profit earning capabilities of the businesses. This paper sets out to identify the factors
an entrepreneur must consider when deciding on the ownership model for the business. It will then
examine the advantages and disadvantages of starting a business through franchising. Lastly, this
paper will examine the criteria an entrepreneur should evaluate before purchasing an existing
business.
List several factors an entrepreneur should consider before choosing a form of ownership?
One of the most significant decisions an entrepreneur will make will center on the ownership of their
organization (Scarborough Cornwall, 2014, p. 138). This organizational component is crucial to the
successful operation of the business and as such, there are a number of considerations entrepreneurs
must make when selecting the appropriate ownership model of their small business. The

Should Students Get Payed For Good Grades
Students Should get Payed for Good Grades
Twenty five percent of students drop out of high school in their first year. Students all over the world
dropout or quit do to difficulties and frustrations in school work and grades. If students got Payed for
excelling at school this percent would decrease greatly. At school, students work just as hard or harder

encouraged to work harder and try more. Also during post secondary school students would not have
to worry about getting jobs through the school year and focus on their studies. Students should be
payed for excelling because they work hard, it will encourage them, and they won t need to find jobs
while attending post secondary school.
Schools have students working every part of their brain throughout the whole day. Doing this most
students work as hard or harder as the rest of the working class. If students work hard with all the
other stress that is going around them while keeping up an eighty percent or higher in all classes,
students deserve a reward for trying as hard as they do. As a student your brain has to change between

Solutions to Global Warming Essay
Climatic warming, or what some call global warming, began thousands of years ago. This climatic
warming occurs because of natural climate cycles that the earth has to go through in order to have a
stable climate condition. Global heating and global cooling are nothing new today. There were Ice
Ages when most of the world was covered in glaciers and hot steamy times that allowed animals that
now live in the tropics to live in almost any continent known today. A major change in climatic
warming began at the beginning of the Industrialization Era since then people have been adding extra
carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.

The green house effect happens when the gases in our atmosphere, such as methane, carbon dioxide,
and water vapor, trap the heat they re emit the heat back to earth making it hotter. As a result of the
massive burning of fossil fuels the more and more gases that get trapped in our atmosphere the heat
that is retained here on earth is becoming grater and grater leaving us with hotter temperatures. While
some green house effect is necessary to keep our earth warm, the exaggerated burning of fossil fuels
and their exhaust gases being released into the atmosphere the green house effect has been turned into
one of the main causes of global warming. The causes of green house effect have great impacts on our
climate and on other aspects. The green house effect is the main reason why icebergs are disappearing
and the sea levels are rising. As a result of the sea level rise the currents can be altered due the mixing
of fresh water, that the iceberg is made of, and salt water leading to desalinization that can change the
earth s climate.
The signs that climate warming has been changing our climate and surroundings are more evident
today than they were years before. The Portage Glacier, one of Alaska s most famous glaciers, has
greatly decreased in size. Since 1950 up to 2002 the glacier s mass has decreased do much that it is
nearly out of sight.

Family Farm Research Paper
In this essay I m going to write about how different markets in the world are linked together. I am
going to talk about how in my life different markets are related on our family farm. In the farming
business and agriculture field in general, there is so many markets that can be linked in so many ways
it is crazy. The process is literally endless with buying, selling, feeding, caring for, protecting and
many others. I m just going to start off with the raising animal s aspect. We raise beef cows and calves,
pigs and run a steer finishing lot. The beginning process with the animals is actually buying them to

Obviously you are trying to sell these animals for a higher price than what you bought them at. In the
cattle market the price are so up and down because of other factors in the economy.
There are so many other thing that are related to raising animals. All the equipment and building
needed to raise them. There fields of where they came from, how they were built and how they got
where they are. The veterinary bills for surprising accidents. The electricity, machinery need for
transporting and planting/harvesting, and so many others things that you can t even imagine.
The whole process of linked things in our world is really endless. You don t ever really realize how
and why everything is connected, but it is in some shape or form. I narrowed it down to the agriculture
field because it is an important area of our interactive world. The agriculture field may be a small part

Employers and schools nowadays evaluate applicants from their social media accounts. For example,

or student. Going through their profiles would reveal more on their relationships and interactions with
other people. This would help organizations get the rightful applicants because an error in this could
result in irreparable harm. Even so, as this practice becomes widespread, people would always clean
their accounts before interviews to depict the needful and erase the undesired. This way, employers
and schools would not gather useful information as the profile would have been customized to
impress. Additionally, people could operate Facebook accounts to be used for interviews. Such
accounts would contain what would be considered desirable for interviewers. They would have other
accounts for normal socialization. Therefore, at the end of it, interviewers who access their Facebook
accounts get wrong information on the interviewee.
Despite the increased practice of requiring interviewees to provide passwords for their Facebook
accounts so as to analyze their profiles, the practice does not meet its goals. It is an infringement into
people s privacy thus illegal. More wrong than right information would be retrieved as most people
use disguised identities on social media.

Compare And Contrast Reason And Faith
In my essay I intend to explore the two very different theories on wether the Sun or the Earth is in the
middle of the universe, referring to the models, represented at the Earth and Sun exhibition. I will be
exploring the topic from different points of you, that are stated in my question, which is reason and
faith. Referring to reason, we can be implying different meanings, but mainly reason is our way of
trying to make sense of the world, which gives us explanations and justifications. All humans and
scientists seek to find answers by using a common way of knowing, such as reason. We use it for
different matters, which is why we know some reasons of the origins, of where Earth and where Sun
is. At first, faith might seem irrelevant in my question, however faith doesn t always have to be related
to religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that faith is why we search for answers, hoping that there is a reason for everything, which
has to do with such way of knowing as emotions. This are the things I ll discuss, in order to find a

towards those attempts to understand, does faith has something to do with it and how does the
knowledge of Earth and Sun helps us understand the origins of life through reason and faith.

The Consequences of the Burr and Hamiton Duel Essay example
The Burr and Hamilton duel is a major part in american history. It was a moment in history were two
foes battled out their anger in each other. Though many historians wonder if Hamilton able to avoid
this duel. Many people would agree that this is one thing that would not turn into a big deal if it was
avoided. Today many history classes are debating was the consequences of the the Burr vs. Hamilton
duel inevitable?
Alexander was the leader of the federalists and secretary of state. Burr was a democratic republican
and vice president of the United States. They are both political enemies, but their hatred for each other

Before the duel, Hamilton wrote a letter called Statement on Impending Duel with Aaron Burr . He
wrote in the letter that he was strongly opposed the practice of dueling for both religious and practical
reasons. He then continued stating I have resolved, if our interview is conducted in the usual manner,
and it pleases God to give me the opportunity, to reserve and throw away my first fire, and I have
thoughts even of reserving my second fire. While Dr. Hosack, the doctor called to help Hamilton after
being shot, was told by Hamilton that his gun was still loaded. This is evidence for the theory that
Hamilton intended not to fire, honoring his pre duel pledge, and only fired accidentally upon being hit.
Do to the fact that Hamilton desperately did not want to duel with Burr, his only decision was to write
the letter to him. To appease his moral and religious reservations about dueling, he attempted to
placate Burr with an elaborate discussion of the infinite shades of meaning of the word despicable a
grammar lesson that Burr found evasive, manipulative, and offensive.
Burr was outraged by Hamilton s letter. He started to negotiate with Hamilton about the duel. After
roughly eight days of negotiation, the duel was final and Hamilton accepted it. Burr was definitely the
one that was more into the idea of dueling. For a long time Burr knew that Hamilton did not only have

Influence of Led Zeppelin and The Kinks The 1960 s might be the most memorable time in Artistic
influence through music in American History. Music and bands thrived in rapidly changing society.
Growing popularity in this era provided a new platform of influence on the population. The forefront
bands of this time had the chance to change American culture through songs that only lasted a couple
of minutes. There was a lot of groups that had a role in shaping our society today but only two will be

their eccentric performance on the stage, with Their wardrobe included tight, open bottom jeans with

the whole rock and roll section of music, teaching every aspect of performing and musical genius.
Despite their influence and upbringing of the whole rock genre, they had a major impact on the

Agriculture In The United States
Over the years agriculture has nearly diminished from the workforce. Why is this happening? In fact,
ever since the Industrial Revolution s promises of big city success agriculture has taken a hit.
Agriculture has been a foundation for the infrastructure of the United States since it s creation.
Agricultural careers are a necessity for the nation. It is important through the history, from whom it
affects, the effects on the environment and people, and to find a solution to the loss of this core
element. Since the beginning of human development humans have been revolving around agriculture.
It is known that, Archaeologists and palaeontologists have traced the origins of farming to around
10,000 years ago (Mason). This is truly remarkable to believe that the revolution as a whole may pivot
on this period so long ago. Once this happened agriculture began popping up all around the ancient
world spreading like wildfire. This planting of crops and domestication of animals allowed people to

Praise Song for the Day
Praise Song For The Day
November 26, 2012
This poem, Praise Song for the Day by Elizabeth Alexander, is one of the most memorable poems that
have been recited within the last 20 years. Immediately after President Obama was sworn into office,
Elizabeth Alexander recited her poem to the masses that had gathered on that cold winter day in
January. The piece is full of symbolism, with the tone being hopeful, inspiring and thankful. The poem
begins with a description of daily life which is filled with the daily grind of hard working individuals,
often doing the work that drives this great nation of ours...small businesses, blue collar laborers,
honorable professions such as teaching.
The possibility of coming together as a people in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The religious belief systems of different peoples that allow us to get along with other peoples differ in
degree. The poem presents an even stronger concept of love that goes beyond Love thy neighbor as
thy self , and even beyond marital, filial, national. Some believe the way to unity is to avoid being
selfish, not hurting others, and treating others as you would your compatriots, your kin, or yourself.
This poem suggests there is a love that extends beyond those whom we are familiar with to include a
widening pool of light.
Finally, in relation to the present day, there is a sense of the immense possibilities ( anything can be
made, any sentence begun ). This is contained in the words that may inspire others to action that may
bring such a love closer toward reality. From disunity ( walking past each other ) to blindly walk[ing]
into that which we cannot yet see, this poem now suggests the alternative of walking forward in that
light guided by a new vision of a love that may unite us.
I focused on the symbolic element of the poem, because I liked the presentation and how it flowed. It
made me think about how far we ve come in this country. I believe that Elizabeth draws the reader
into the poem just I was drawn, by suggesting that we as a nation that was literally built off the labor

aimlessly around day to day without a goal in sight. I was overweight, self conscious and miserable.
Every morning I woke up just to perform the same routine: wake up, go to school, come home, do

Developmental Theories That Assist Social Workers Essay
Developmental theories are integral to a social workers approach when working with children, and
families as they help to guide and explain situations and behaviours. As social workers have an ethical
and professional responsibility to their clients, they need to have an established set of guiding theories
which underpin their practice. If they work without these theories, they could place their clients at risk
of harm by practising from personal assumptions. They also help the social worker understand and
manage these situations and to reach the desired outcomes. As suggested by Teater (2014), Theory is
an essential ingredient in practice that guides the way in which social workers view and approach
individuals, groups, communities and society (Chap 1, p.1). This report will identify and focus on
three important developmental theories that assist social workers in their practice. These consist of
work by Erikson, Bowlby and Piaget. Erikson s theory focuses on the model of life stage
development; Piaget s theory focuses on the cognitive processes while Bowlby s theory focuses on
attachment. Despite these theories representing different aspects of social science, they all have the
same guiding principle of development. Once the social worker has identified the relevant theory
required, they then use a model to implement the theory. This report will examine and discuss the
Collaborative Family Work Model. The Collaborative Family Work Model works in a step by step

Questions On Fourth Amendment Jurisprudence
Fourth Amendment jurisprudence is primarily concentrated in four areas: 1) defining searches ; 2) the
Warrant Requirement, in which warrantless searches are semantically precluded except in specific and
tightly constricted situations; 3) the Probable Cause Requirement, whose exclusive provisions are
closely associated with the Warrant Requirement s proscription of police inquiries into same; and, 4)
the exclusionary rule, which presumptively excludes any information or evidence gathered in violation
of the preceding two (Rickless, 2005). The Court has continued to delineate areas, which fall outside
the parameters of the restrictions placed upon government officials through the Fourth Amendment.
The Court has ruled that the areas carved out which include exceptions to the basic tenets of the
Fourth Amendment, commonly known as warrantless searches, may be conducted if circumstances are
such that the interests of society outweigh the invasiveness of the action. The Court has have
recognized special situations in which warrants were not required, including: border searches; consent
searches; container searches; exigent circumstances; searches incident to a lawful arrest; plain view;
special needs; stop and frisk; and inventory searches. The Court has ruled that the areas carved out

The Influence of Advertising
What is the Influence of Advertising on our children today? The influence of advertising on our lives,
for both our children and us, for many years the influence of advertising has changed. Some people
may remember when the advertisements of toy companies were directed at the adults instead of the
kids, hoping that the adults might buy the products. Today s advertisements have changed.
Advertisements are more pervasive, sophisticated, and are now aimed directly at getting kids addicted
to products at a very young age (Marconi, JM.). This goes to show that advertisers have realized that it
is better to go right for the person who the product is for and not for the person that will be buying it
for someone else. So how has advertising ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether it s the Porsche ad that shows the grade school boy recognizing the car as the King of cool
and success, or the Chevy that wins the NASCAR championship; these brands are sealed into a child s
mind at a young age. The dolls that little girls play with may promote brand name make up, board
games may make use of a specific credit card, and a hot wheels racetrack often includes a specific
brand of car (Hall and Kohrs 2006). All of these promotions are paid for by manufacturers and serve a
very specific purpose. This message often has the effect of making kids consumers of such products at
an increasingly early age and assures that they develop their brand loyalty earlier.
Is Advertising Really That Influential? There are a number of studies that support the idea that
advertising is particularly effective with children due to the fact they don t have the same critical
thinking/judgment as an adult. The brief from the APA highlights this thought and discusses how such
advertising can lead children to unhealthy food and lifestyle choices (American psychological

sexual development. This young media site covers many of the related issues. Children today often

on a legendary German pilot who fought and died in World War 1. This pilot was known as Manfred
von Richthofen. I believe that this film was nicely put together, the plot kept its viewers engaged and
wanting to see what would happen next. In this essay I will be giving a brief explanation on the film
and why it is or is not accurate and whether the producer did it on purpose or by mistake. At the
beginning of the movie which takes place in 1906, Manfred is still a child. As a kid Manfred is out
hunting with his younger brother Lothar von Richthofen and younger cousin, Wolfram Freiherr von
Richthofen. Suddenly the sound of an airplane flying nearby flies over them. Amazed, Manfred jumps
on his horse and follows the airplane with his arms spread out as though they were the wings of a
plane themselves. This foreshadows him becoming a pilot in the future. After this scene the movies
jumps ten years into the future which happens to be during World War 1. After the ten years have
passed Manfred is a Lieutenant and is serving as a fighter pilot for the Imperial German Air Service.
Lieutenant Richthofen is shown flying along the Western front where they drop a wreath over the
funeral of an Allied pilot. On his way back home with his friends and fellow pilots Werner Voss,

Why Tobacco Should Be Banned From The United States Essay
Consumption of Tobacco is a worldwide phenomenon. Nearly every country is planning to raise more
restrictions around the consumption of Tobacco. The awareness about its ill effects is rising through
the corridors of Parliaments of many countries with the help of governmental and non governmental
organizations. There are some internationally recognized organizations like the World Lung
Foundations that are striving hard to reduce the consumption of tobacco to a bare minimum. There are
numerous reasons that support the argument that tobacco should be completely banned from the
United Sates.
Tobacco consumption is the number one cause of preventable deaths in the United States. In the
United States, cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year. That is around
one in five deaths annually only because of smoking. On an average, the person who smokes dies ten
years earlier than a non smoker. These statistics are not mere numbers but speak about the gravity of
the situation. The United States government should portray a more negative view on Tabaco to save
the lives of many people worldwide (Centre for Disease and Prevention, second paragraph). America
has a major debt of over twenty trillion dollars and does not need industries like Tabaco costing them
more. There is a huge cost borne by the Federal and State Governments because of the consumption of
tobacco by its citizens. The cost, calculated by the Center for Disease and Prevention, is around

Such concerns, combined with weather related worries, prompted the Thiokol engineers (headed by
Robert Lund) to conduct a teleconference with managers from the Marshall and Johnson Space
Centres, in order to determine whether the shuttle was safe for launch. This came just one day before
the scheduled launch. In the meeting, Thiokol engineers raised their concerns that the low temperature
may affect the function of O rings and objected to the decision of launch. The NASA s managers
immediately challenged their conclusion by placing them the burden of proving the O ring failure.
Under such pressure, the managers of Thiokol overturned their no go position and giving NASA
recommendation to launch. After all, the meeting was never known to the top leaders of NASA( see

4.0 CASE ANALYSIS
4.1 FLAWED DECISION MAKING PROCESS
The flawed decision making processes leading to the Challenger launch were a result of ineffective
and inadequate communications. Lacking of moral awareness and failing to consider interests of
various stakeholders were contributory factors to the failure.
A closed communication climate had evolved within NASA, where free flow of information and
creative thinking were generally not encouraged. Such climate was also transferred to its contractor
Thiokol. A year prior to the launch, engineers in Thiokol had expressed their concern on the

Fredendall s Failure In Relating To The Realities Of War
(8) leadership.
MG Fredendall rarely left the Command Post and was removed from the front lines, being hidden in
underground bunkers. His verbal orders were vague and he continually bypassed the 1st Armored
Division commander, MG Ward, so as to deal directly with the combat commanders. His orders were
based solely (Nidorest) on directive and not from the information on hand. He regularly ignored the
advice of his subordinates.
d. State the mission and describe initial disposition of the opposing forces.
As per the Corps commander, the 1st Armored Division was to defend the passes and provide support
to the French XIX Corps flanks. The primary purpose was to hold the lines until reinforcements and
logistical elements could catch back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was a complete disaster for the Allied Forces and large victory for the Axis powers. It set a tone for
further engagements along the western front of the Tunisian invasion. Only the lack of clear unity of
command between the Italians and Germany allowed the offensive to stall.
4. ASSESS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ACTION:
a. Relate causes to effects.
The US doctrine relating to the use of tanks and tank destroyers was flawed, furthermore unit
commanders failed to both properly exercise the doctrine and adapt to the realities of war. This lead to
a total failure in our ability to properly engage and defeat the German forces.
A lack of good intelligence and the inability to properly utilize the intelligence we had made it
impossible to properly position our forces prior to the battle starting. Furthermore it greatly reduced
our ability to reinforce our front lines and counter the German attacks.
b. Establish military lessons learned.
Doctrine should be fluid, it must be allowed to adapt and change as the situation dictates. You cannot
allow yourself to get stuck in a singular mindset about how war is fought. Our enemy s technology
and tactics are always evolving and we must always strive to evolve both to adapt to and overcome

The American Dream As A Good Life
For decades, the United States has embodied a sense of liberty and hope. Those who come to America
have the chance to fulfill their dreams, accumulate material wealth, and live a relatively pleasant life.
From the very beginning, the founding fathers claimed that it was our God given right to pursue
happiness and success. Success and happiness are only a few steps away from those who put their
heads down and work hard. This idea is commonly known as the American Dream. Furthermore,
many Christians today believe that they can achieve the American Dream while still following the
teachings of the Bible. God just wants us to be blessed with material possessions and wealth and live a
good life. However, a look at the Bible and the teachings of Jesus reveals an exceedingly different
view of how one should define a good life. While the American Dream dictates a life of prosperity and
individualist gain, Jesus commands a life of obedience and self sacrifice. Thus, it is impossible to
harmonize the ideas of the American dream with the teachings of the Bible.
The American Dream has numerous definitions that people have ascribed to it over the years. In his
book titled Nine Great American Myths, Pat Apel gives his definition of the American Dream:
The American Dream is the multicolored tapestry comprised of the many myths and stories of those
who have come before us to create our own success story. It is the worldview comprised of the myths
and stories which have portrayed the

Religion In Massachusetts Bay Colonies
The Puritan community of the Massachusetts Bay colony was primarily focused around church and
faith. In 1630, a mass exodus of Puritans moved from England to the colonies in an attempt to isolate
themselves and focus on their own religion. Puritans believed that they had a covenant with God,
meaning they were predestined for heaven.
In the colony of Massachusetts bay, around 9,000 Puritans settled down to make their own model
society based on religious purity. In their community, going to church was an absolute necessity. One
could not be part of the community unless they were members of the church. The government and
religion were so closely woven that they were nearly the same thing. When town meetings were held,
the only way to vote in

African American Rights
The African Americans were rejected basic rights throughout history. Some of the major rights that
they were denied were education and transportation. Many blacks were faced with hardships and
terror throughout their lifetime that we now take for granted in our everyday lives. These simple rights
that they were denied will make you realized how much the world has changed over the past decades.
Education was one of the major rights African Americans were denied throughout history. Linda
Brown and many other African Americans were denied the right to attend any all white schools near
their houses. Instead of attending a school near their houses, they were forced to travel extreme
distances to attend elementary school. While if you were a white child you were granted the right to
travel a small distance to receive schooling. To resolve this problem Linda and her father went to the
supreme court to sue Kansas for having a segregated school system. The NAACP stepped in and ruled
that having segregated schools rejected blacks the right to have equal protection ,which is in the 14th
amendment. The NAACP also argued that the African American children felt as if they were not good
enough or at the same level as others to attend school with the white children. The Supreme Court
decided to rule in favor of the Browns and declared it illegal to have segregation in public schools.
Little Rock Nine was another incident that showed america how education was being denied to

The world s 10 largest firms and their sources of economies of scale The two conventional financial clarifications for the development of firms have been economies of scale and economies of degree. Economies of scale emerge when a firm brings down its every unit generation expenses of a specific item by creating in more prominent amount. Division of work through specialization is one reason every unit expenses diminish as generation increments. Adam Smith depicted in the eighteenth century how a pin plant can expand its yield essentially if every specialist over and over performs a particular undertaking in the creation prepare as opposed to having every laborer freely make complete pins without any preparation (Ayyagari,2011). In current MNCs, economies of scale exist in view of division of work as well as by consolidating, and regularly supplanting, human work with automated generation. Interest in substantial scale creation gear and the most recent innovations is by and large exceptionally extravagant. Organizations that have substantial economies of scale have solid points of interest over their rivals in light of the fact that they have logistic or value preferences, and in this way pull in more clients and set their size preference considerably more. Another weakness that Girls on the Run will face is having the start up funds necessary to host various special events and activities. In addition to analyzing the organizations weaknesses, it is also important to evaluate the opportunities that they can bring to the area. Girls on the Run has the opportunity to introduce a new and innovative program to the State College area that would promote good health and fitness. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of children aged 6 11 years old in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 20% in 2008. He then continued stating I have resolved, if our interview is conducted in the usual manner, and it pleases God to give me the opportunity, to reserve and throw away my first fire, and I have thoughts even of reserving my second fire. While Dr. Hosack, the doctor called to help Hamilton after being shot, was told by Hamilton that his gun was still loaded. This is evidence for the theory that Hamilton intended not to fire, honoring his pre duel pledge, and only fired accidentally upon being hit. Do to the fact that Hamilton desperately did not want to duel with Burr, his only decision was to write the letter to him. To appease his moral and religious reservations about dueling, he attempted to placate Burr with an elaborate discussion of the infinite shades of meaning of the word despicable a grammar lesson that Burr found evasive, manipulative, and offensive. Burr was outraged by Hamilton s letter. He started to negotiate with Hamilton about the duel. After roughly eight days of negotiation, the duel was final and Hamilton accepted it. This poem suggests there is a love that extends beyond those whom we are familiar with to include a widening pool of light. Finally, in relation to the present day, there is a sense of the immense possibilities ( anything can be made, any sentence begun ). This is contained in the words that may inspire others to action that may bring such a love closer toward reality. From disunity ( walking past each other ) to blindly walk[ing] into that which we cannot yet see, this poem now suggests the alternative of walking forward in that light guided by a new vision of a love that may unite us. • 32. Developmental Theories That Assist Social Workers Essay Developmental theories are integral to a social workers approach when working with children, and families as they help to guide and explain situations and behaviours. As social workers have an ethical and professional responsibility to their clients, they need to have an established set of guiding theories which underpin their practice. If they work without these theories, they could place their clients at risk of harm by practising from personal assumptions. They also help the social worker understand and manage these situations and to reach the desired outcomes. As suggested by Teater (2014), Theory is an essential ingredient in practice that guides the way in which social workers view and approach individuals, groups, communities and society (Chap 1, p.1). This report will identify and focus on three important developmental theories that assist social workers in their practice. These consist of work by Erikson, Bowlby and Piaget. Erikson s theory focuses on the model of life stage development; Piaget s theory focuses on the cognitive processes while Bowlby s theory focuses on attachment. Despite these theories representing different aspects of social science, they all have the same guiding principle of development. Once the social worker has identified the relevant theory required, they then use a model to implement the theory. This report will examine and discuss the Collaborative Family Work Model. The influence of advertising on our lives, for both our children and us, for many years the influence of advertising has changed. Some people may remember when the advertisements of toy companies were directed at the adults instead of the kids, hoping that the adults might buy the products. Today s advertisements have changed. Advertisements are more pervasive, sophisticated, and are now aimed directly at getting kids addicted to products at a very young age (Marconi, JM.). There are a number of studies that support the idea that advertising is particularly effective with children due to the fact they don t have the same critical thinking/judgment as an adult. The awareness about its ill effects is rising through the corridors of Parliaments of many countries with the help of governmental and non governmental organizations. There are some internationally recognized organizations like the World Lung Foundations that are striving hard to reduce the consumption of tobacco to a bare minimum.
