1. Benefits Of Writing Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Benefits of Writing Essays" can be a paradoxical endeavor,
as it involves a certain level of irony. The irony lies in the fact that while extolling the virtues of
essay writing, the writer is tasked with navigating the intricate landscape of language, structure,
and argumentation. It's akin to trying to explain the benefits of swimming while treading
water—there's a constant interplay between the act of writing about writing and the actual act
of writing itself.
One of the initial challenges is finding a unique perspective or angle to approach the topic. The
subject matter may seem straightforward at first, but delving into the depths of its intricacies
demands a thoughtful exploration of the multifaceted nature of essay composition. It's not just
about enumerating the advantages but also about articulating them in a way that captivates the
reader's attention and convincingly conveys the importance of the skill.
Moreover, the writer must grapple with the potential irony of discussing the benefits of essay
writing in a medium that, in itself, exemplifies those benefits. This recursive nature adds an extra
layer of complexity to the task. It requires a delicate balance between elucidating the merits of
the process and avoiding the pitfalls of self-reference that could inadvertently undermine the
credibility of the essay.
The process of writing about the benefits of writing essays also necessitates a keen
understanding of the target audience. Is the essay intended for students, educators, or a more
general readership? Tailoring the content to suit the needs and expectations of the audience adds
another layer of challenge, requiring adaptability and a nuanced approach.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the topic "Benefits of Writing Essays," one is
confronted with the irony inherent in discussing the merits of the craft itself. It demands a
thoughtful and skillful approach to navigate the complexities of self-reference and to convey the
significance of essay writing convincingly. It's a task that requires not only a mastery of the
subject matter but also a keen awareness of the audience. The writer must navigate this intricate
terrain, much like a skilled essayist navigating the vast landscape of ideas.
For those seeking assistance with essays or similar tasks, a plethora of resources is available.

2. Comparison of News Reports Essay
Comparison of News Reports
On Thursday 22nd April 2004, Ron Atkinson, manager and footballing legend, was
overheard making a racist remark concerning player Marcel Desailly the black
Chelsea defender during the Chelsea Monaco Champion s League semi final.
The story received colossal press coverage from all of the newspapers, mainly
because Atkinson is famous for coaching so many black players. I have studies two
newspapers accounts of the same story. One paper is a tabloid (The Sun) and the other
is a broadsheet (The Daily Telegraph). The reason why I have chosen to examine a
tabloid report and also a broadsheet is to discover the similarities between them and
also the contrasts in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also uses the technique of personalisation like the tabloid; however it is more
formal and does not use slang. It does not have as much impact as The Sun uses
words like racist , it seems less harmful because they are only costly thoughts
instead. There is a more formal, serious picture; he is shown doing his job in smart
clothes and he looks dignified. There is only one picture and a lot more text which is
divided into eight columns.
The sun differs from the Daily Telegraph in content greatly. The Sun only has a short
paragraph of background information whereas The Daily Telegraph has quite a large
section describing Atkinson s tributes and achievements in football. Also The Sun has
much shorter quotes in its article. This is because The Sun is known to get straight
to the point in articles whilst The Daily Telegraph usually gives all sides of the
argument before coming to a conclusion.
The Sun is part of the News Corporation Group owned by press baron Rupert
Murdoch and is the best selling British newspaper selling 3.5 million copies a day,
compared to The Daily Telegraph who is part of Hollinger Inc. owned by Conrad
Black. In comparison to The Sun it sells over three times less, a million copies per
day are sold of The Daily Telegraph.
Ron Atkinson is a famous TV and football personality. This gives the story a high
news value in both the tabloid and the broadsheet
3. Characters In Disgrace Sparknotes
In 1997, South Africa entered the post Apartheid, a system which not only the
colored but other nationalities were severely restricted under the power of the white
minority. Blacks were not permitted to pay taxes so they couldn t benefit from them,
they were not even considered citizens and were not allowed to register in the white
schools. Segregation took place by having people attend their own hospitals and
restaurants. The post apartheid South Africais described as a depressing period that
rulings was based on nationality, race, and gender (Gradin).
Disgrace opens up with the life of David Lurie, a 52 year old white professor of
Romantic Poetry, twice divorced, and basically, lives for his financial and emotional
means. His life filled with desire, but lacking in passion (Coetzee). This novel tells the
Story of David and his daughter Lucy Lurie, who are living in post apartheid South
Africa. Every week he meets his sexual needs by visiting a prostitute. But still feels
empty and seduces one of his students that makes him feel young again, Melanie.
Although Melanie Issacs was a minor character in the novel, her role or what she
made of it, is what gave this story s interesting plot.
Everything falls apart and David Lurie s life falls into disgrace after being charged
with sexual harassment. He is then prompted to leave his position at the university so
he moves to his daughter s farm with the hopes the incident will stay behind him.
Their relationship is not the
4. Reducing Risk Factors of Children’s Resilience Essay
Reducing Risk Factors of Children s Resilience This paper will examine the
concept of resilience as it has emerged in the research literature of Grotberg (1995).
It will evaluate the effectiveness of the concept in the area of developing more
effective protective factors for children and families subjected to vulnerability and
adversity. It will be noted that resilience needs to be promoted on three fronts, work
on individual resilience strategies, promotion of resilience through the organisations
and agencies, such as school and the curriculum, family welfare services and
promotion of resilience in the community. This paper concentrates on those aspects of
reducing the risk factors and increasing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concept of resilience is closely associated with risk and suggests that at risk
children and families are more likely to develop an adverse outcome or disorder than
others, which includes poverty, unemployment, homelessness, poor health, single
parenting and divorce, organisational, social, cohort and family line diversity. Given
the conceptual complexities of resilience, it is important to take stock of the
individual factors, family dynamics e.g. step families, adoption, fostering and
environmental difficulties such as war, drought, cultural beliefs, which resilience
develops. Such a conceptual framework is likely to provide a useful yet
multidimensional conceptualisation of resilience. Focusing on these individual,
familial, and environmental risk and protective factors, their influence on the
landscape of reunification and re entry opens new avenues for exploration, which lead
to more effective interventions for children and families (Rapoprt Rapoprot, 1982).
Although protective and risk have often been used interchangeably in the literature,
Rutter (1999) sees resilience as the attribute that characterise and structuralise the
conceptual framework of protective perspective. The protective perspective
emphasises the resources, assets, potentials, and capabilities of children, groups,
families, and communities (Bernards, 1997). This approach also marks a definitive
5. What Are The Challenges Of Benjamin Franklin s Life
Early in Benjamin Franklins life, he faced a big challenge that led him to make
choices to shape up his influencing character. It shows us that he had to work hard
from an early age. This is a big challenge for him because he had to work from an
early age along with becoming better academically. Growing up in a big familywith
so many siblings, he had to take care of himself. His father Josiah worked in a soap
factory, along with making candles. Benjamin worked with his father until he was
twelve years old, until he started to despise working with his father which made his
father look for alternative jobs. Knowing Benjamin and his interest in education and
books, his father suggested he worked for his older bother James, who was a printer.
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In return, all James did was slander Benjamin s name throughout the community so
he wouldn t be able to find work anywhere else. This was a big challenge for
Benjamin because not only did he have a bad name that lasted quite a long time but
he also had to force himself to move to distant places like New York and Pennsylvania
. He had to travel under dangerous conditions across seas to find another job. Also
another challenge Benjamin faced after leaving his fathers job, was that he couldn
t find a long stable and suitable job for himself. He always faced problems at every
new job he joined. On his way to New York, Benjamin meets Bradford, who was
not able to offer him any jobs. But he refers Benjamin to his son Andrew who was
a printer in Pennsylvania. When Benjamin gets to Pennsylvania, Andrew did not
have a job to offer him. Then Andrew refers him to go work for Keimer, who is
also another printer. Although Keimer gave Benjamin work, but it doesn t last
long. He later stops living with Keimer and ends up leaving the job. From these
events in his life we are able to see the cycle and pattern, and he might face similar
challenges in the future. Benjamin gets pushed around from places to places to find
a jobs with very few people recognizing his ability and passion to write, and how
much of an intellectual, he was. He wasn t able to save up his money due
6. Comparing Virginia And Virginia Colonies
After King James I came to the throne, he perceived that New World could be a
place where British could make a profitable settlement as New Spain was for
Spaniards. Hence, many colonies began to develop their colonization in New World.
Out of thirteen colonies, Virginia and Massachusetts remained most remarkable
colonies in American history. The early settlements of the Virginia
and Massachusetts
were both established by groups of people from England at the same time of period;
however, their dissimilar beginnings as colonies, motivations to being adventurers ,
view on religion and ideology, and means of economic stability created two singular
politics and economic systems. The root of both colonies might be the same but
Virginia colonies and Massachusettscolonies became two different individual colonies
by the end of their independence from England.
The basic concept of being adventurer for Virginia colonies were an obtain a charter
for London Company. Under King James I s order, young and ambitious noblemen
who believed that they would immediately find gold and bring fortune on the way
back to their home country. However, the reality was much harsher and brutal than
they imagined. Most of the colonies whom arrived at Virginia at the very first time,
faced and suffered from the starvation and disease and eventually died from those due
to the failure adaptation of the new environments. Therefore, King James I kept
sending more and more British colonies to Virginia to
7. Enzyme Concentration
This experiment was carried out with many precautions to minimise error margins.
These measures included putting the measuring cylinders in the water bath/ ice box
/ and bench top at the same time, using the same capsicum extract, having the same
person record the results and add the capsicum extract. However there were still
some results that exhibited error such as collecting the measuring cylinders at
different times which prolonged the exposure, as well as have a delay between
starting the timer and adding the capsicum extract. Other issues consist of having an
uneven layer of foam (O2) which was a random error that made it difficult to record
mL, and forgetting to record the temperatureof the H2O2.
Ideally there should have been a gap between exposing each measuring cylinder to
the change in temperature, so once one temperature was recorded the next one was
ready rather than them overlapping. Another improvement in the experiment would
be to assign the task of timing to one person and adding the extract to another person
to diminish the gap between completing each of the tasks*. In addition, testing more
temperature points or repeating the experiment would allow for a wider range of
results and a higher accuracy reading of the ideal conditions for enzyme reactivity. ...

These include wearing enclosed shoes, safety goggles, an apron, and tying up long
hair. Additionally, grasping measuring cylinders away from the surface of the hot
water and placing it in a stand on a linoleum mat to protect the work bench.
From the results I can conclude that enzymes are heavily affected by temperature
changes; slowing down the rate of a reaction if the conditions are wrong. The amount
of oxygen that was produced decreased as the temperature
8. Airplanes; The Invention of and How They Fly Essay
A pilot does not have to be an aeronautical engineer to learn to fly an airplane.
However, it is a good idea to have good knowledge of aerodynamics and flight
theory to be able to fly safely. There are four basic components in making an
airplane fly, lift, drag, thrust, and weight. All of these work in unison to make a
plane stay in the air. If one of the first three is taken out of the equation, gravity and
weight will take over and cause the plane to descend. It is up to the pilot to
understand how to make them equal in order to keep the airplane in flight or
descend at an acceptable rate, in order to safely land the airplane. Before staring work
to get a pilot s license it would be a good idea to understand several aspects before the

Lift is one of the most contested components of airplane flight. There are different
theories in how an airplane reacts to air being rushed over its wings. In all actuality
the entire airplane promotes lift. Often it is forgotten how the top portion of the
airplane and wing plays just as an important role in creating lift as the bottom of
the airplane and wing. As stated in How Airplanes Fly Lift is the force that
directly opposes the weight of an airplane and holds the airplane in the air
(Eberhardt). Lift must overcome or be equal to the weight of the airplane
(Eichenberger). Lift is produced as the air flows over the body and wings of the
airplane as it is moving forward. The wings help to develop most of the lift due to
their design. They come in different shapes and sizes, from short wings to very
long wings, even a propeller of a helicopter is considered a wing. No matter what
size or shape, wings are designed to create lift. According to Newton s third law,
for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means the lift of a
wing is equal to the change in momentum of the air it is diverting downward
(Eberhardt). Pilots have controls to increase the size of the wing while the airplane
is flying, thus increasing lift and helping to keep the airplane flying at slower speeds.
With the body and wings creating lift, their sheer size creates another variable a pilot

9. Essay On Mutation
Spontaneous mutations occur during a normal cell process creating genetic changes
(text p.206). There are varying types of spontaneous mutations including, silent,
missense, nonsense, and frameshift mutations. How are these mutations the same and
how are they different? Silent, missense, and nonsense mutations all occur when base
substitutions happen (text p.206). A base substitution is when the wrong nucleotide
is incorporated during DNAsynthesis, this is the most common mutation (lecture). In
a silent mutation a base substitution occurs, incorporating an incorrect nucleotide, the
result is a codon that codes for an amino acid that is the same as the wild type (text p.
206). In a missense mutation, the resulting mutant codon does not... Show more

These mutations are ones that often produce stop codons, putting a halt to the
creation of the protein with shortened amino acid sequences. They may also generate
proteins that do not function. By simply adding a single nucleotide you alter the
coding outcomes of the remaining nucleotides down the sequence. If one were to
insert a sequence of three nucleotides, they would be inserting a complete amino
acid. Because of this, there is a higher likelihood that the sequence of three
nucleotides would simple produce a new amino acid, rather than a stop codon, unless
it itself was a stop codon. This creation of a new amino acid to the sequence would
elongating the genetic sequence and continue to produce a functioning protein while
allowing the remaining gene sequence to remain the same. Example 1.1: Insertion

10. Marketing Strategy For The Downtown Auburn Area Essay
Marketing Strategy:
Joyride
Background:
We are in the business of providing reliable micro transportation to the downtown
Auburn area. There is no free on demand transportation in the area but many growing
businesses.
A joyride in Auburn would provide thousands of people an easier opportunity to
commute around campus and downtown Auburn.
Over the next two years I plan to grow Joyride to a stable, household brand to
students and residence alike of the Auburn community. I plan to grow to Joyride to
eight carts that would be constantly and consistently used throughout the week. I six
business in the downtown area would be willing to sponsor a cart marketing package.
Specific target businesses would be: Skybar, Bourbon Street Bar, Quixotes, The
Hound, Acre Restaurant, Live Oaks, Avondale Bar Tap Room, Moes Original, Little
Italy Pizzeria, Pieology Pizzeria, Auburn Draft house, 17 16 Bar, Ellie Shoe
Boutique, and Locker Room.
There are many, many businesses that would receive the full personalized sales pitch
from me but those listed above are those that I think have the expendable income to
support a marketing endeavor.
I believe that Joyride can take over a significant market share of the on demand
transportation service in the community since on demand ride shares have just been
legalized in Auburn as of just this August and the only competition Uber is just now
getting the ball rolling themselves with no market competition.
I am compelled to start Joyride in
11. Pecking Trade Off Theory
Analyse the pecking order and the trade off theories of capital structure and assess
the extent to which these are supported by the empirical evidence.
Pecking Order Introduction
The pecking order theory ( Donaldson 1961) of capital structure is among the most
influential theories of corporate leverage. The pecking order theory is based on
different of information between corporate insiders and the market. According to
Myers (1984), due to adverse selection, firm prefer internal to external finance. If
internal finance proves insufficient, bank borrowings and corporate bonds are the
preferred source of external source of finance. After exhausting both of these
possibilities, the final and least preferred source of finance is ... Show more content

For example, if the public thinks that the firm s prospects are rosy but the managers
see trouble ahead, these managers would view their debt as well as their equity as
being overvalued. That is, the public might see the debt as nearly risk free, whereas
the mangers see a strong possibility of default.
If external financing is required, the safest securities, namely debt, are issued first.
Although investors fear mispricing of both debt and equity, the fear is much greater
for equity. Corporate debt still relatively little risk compared to equity because, if
financial distress is avoided, investors receive a fixed return.. Thus, the pecking order
theory implies that, if outside financing required, debt should be issued before equity.
Only when the firm s debt capacity is reached should the firm consider equity.
Also, the stock market tends to react negatively to announcements of new common
stock offerings, whereas debt security announcement tend to have little impact on
stock prices. As a additional external financing is needed, the firm will work down
the pecking order from safe to more risky debt, then possibly to convertible debt, and
finally to common equity as a last resort.
Empirical Specification
A recent strand of the empirical literature attempts to design a test for the pecking
order (Shyam Sunder and Myers, 1999; Frank and Goyal, 2003; Watson and
Wilson,2002;Lemmon and Zender,2003). Shyam Sunder and Myers(1999)
12. Freedom in Mark Twain s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Nothing is more important in the book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer than
freedom. Freedom plays an enormous role in the book Tom Sawyer. Whether it is
people earning freedom or people not being granted it, every young boy in St.
Petersburg wanted some form of freedom. The word freedom means the power to
say and do what you want. Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn and Joe Harper are all
boys seeking freedom. Freedom is the key reason the boys run away to Jackson
Island. Freedom is one of the main themes in the book.
Tom is always looking for ways to earn freedom. One of the main plots in the story is
Tom s quest for freedom. Freedom gives Tom a sense of accomplishment after he
finishes a deed or task.
The secret to happiness is freedom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Tom did not have freedom the book would not be nearly as interesting.
Cardiff Hill is the one of the boy s symbols of freedom. Cardiff Hill is a lush, green
hill that the boys can escape to and do what ever they want primarily relax. Tom is
involuntarily obligated to do his chores and to be well behaved. One time Tom
was feeling so stressed he ran off to Cardiff Hill instead of going to school. This is
a big part of the story because it is when Tom dreams of becoming a pirate, and also
when some of his superstitions are introduced. In the book, Tom usually takes his
freedom whether he has earned It or not.
One of the other main characters in the book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,
Huckleberry Finn, has freedom pretty much by default. He never had a mother that
cared for him and his father is the town drunkard thus he is an orphan. He thinks
life is too based on how you look, act, and how civilized you are. At one point in
the story, the Widow Douglass takes in Huck Finn. The widow tries to transform
him into a civilized person but in the end his old ways reappear and it is too much for
him. He doesn t have to go to school, do chores, or do any form of work. His life fits
perfectly into the definition of freedom.
This Mississippi River resembles the type of lifestyle all the kids in St. Petersburg
would like to live. The Mississippi River runs slowly, freely, and relaxed just like
how all the boys would like to describe their lives.
13. The Benefits Of Person Centered Therapy
The person centered treatment was founded by Carl Rogers around the 1940 s. This
kind of treatment separated from the conventional model of the advisor, and moved
rather to a nondirective, empathic practice that engages and inspires the client in the
remedial procedure (Psychology, 2015). The treatment is in light of Rogers believes
that each individual takes an attempt at their ability to fulfill his or her own potential.
The person centered focus treatment, has an impact on psychotherapyand other
discipline treatments. This counseling techniques can be used for many types of
individuals looking for help. Centered Therapyhas been especially valuable when
treating low self esteem, depressed treatment, addictions in drug and alcohol recovery,

Differences in Development between the Chesapeake Regions and New England
The seventeenth and early eighteenth century, brought thousands of immigrants to
America in pursuit of freedom and a new life. Some desired freedom from religious
persecution, others wanted a chance to be free from the poverty that ensnared them in
England Thus the American colonies were formed. Although the colonies were all
united under British rule, they eventually separated into various regions including the
Chesapeake region, the New England region, the Middle region, and the Southern
region. Despite all the colonies being primarily inhabited by people of English origin
the Chesapeake and New England regions evolved into two distinct societies due to ...

The impact religion had on the Chesapeake region is minimal, however when
compared to the overwhelming effect it had in New England. The New England
region included the colonies of New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts Bay,
Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Plymouth. The foremost religion of the New England
region was Puritanism, which was most prominent in the Massachusetts Bay,
Plymouth, and Connecticut colonies. The colony of Rhode Island was formed when
Roger Williams was expelled for radical ideas. He found the Church of England to be
corrupt and stressed the importance of religious tolerance while creating one of the
first Baptist churches. Later Anne Hutchinson, another colonist expelled for radical
and dangerous ideas, founded Portsmouth which stressed the importance of faith, not
deeds. Eventually Williams joined the colonies to form Rhode Island. New England
became a fortress of congregationalism which developed community religion and
further strengthened the Puritan church. The church, though wholly religious, still
faced issues preserving orthodoxy without compromising the rights of the
congregation, but they were hesitant to undermine the authority of the laity in favor
of the ministry. The Puritans mistrust of any English authority governing them,
eventually led to their refusal to adhere to

By the time the skirmisher line was approaching the bridge our mules and the
escort s horses were rested, watered and had been fed a handful of oats.
Furthermore, the Raider s reserves had invested the farmhouse looking for us,
while the main battle line still faced the city defenders. In fact, the enemy s entire
attack had been disrupted and they weren t happy. Without any mounted scouts
they were at a substantial disadvantage, which gave us great personal satisfaction.
Indeed, we all had smiles on our faces. When I left them, the Wolves moved like
shadows, well trained teams of three squads, and there were something predatory
about them. Julie and Zetia stood together with the PDA in hand with Count Vee.
By contrast, the lancers stood stiffly on their horses, waiting in a rigid formation
on the road in front of the carriage for my command. We had pulled back our troops
to the reverse side of the hill to make sure no one could spot us. Only Scout and I
remained by the river bank watching the advancing Raiders from behind bushes in an
unlikely location some distance from the foot of the bridge. I was sure the enemy
scouts wouldn t give our vantage point much consideration. Vengeful happiness
bubbled up inside me at the thought of removing more of these scum from the world.
About a dozen shirtless men hustled across the long stone bridge with shields raised
and swords ready. Their determined faces scanned the hillside for any movement,

17. Penicillin Lab Report
Introduction
The dawn of the antibiotic era began in 1920 s with the discovery of Penicillin by
Andrew Fleming. Since that time countless millions of people have survived ailments
that by modern medical practice would be considered trivial. Point in fact 90% of all
children suffering from meningitis died before the implementation of antibiotics. Of
the children who survived, many suffered from debilitating conditions such as
deafness or even mental retardation. Infections such as strep throat were often fatal
and even ear infections could spread to the brain with terrible consequences.
This golden age of antibiotics would however be accompanied by a dark counterpart.

(Lee, 2013) Since that time only two truly novel classes (oxazolidinones in 2000 and
cyclic lipopeptides in 2003) of antibiotics have been introduced. With that being said
there are still many promising new treatments being studied in the clinic today that
could potential lead to significant advances in the treatment of infectious diseases.
One such class uses enzymes to degrade the extracellular polymeric substance of
biofilms making the bacteria more vulnerable to antibiotics. Another interesting
development is the use of nanomaterials for the delivery of antibiotics. This treatment
has the potential to increase efficacy while minimizing the adverse effects associated
with some antibiotics. This is accomplished by controllable and uniform distribution
to the target tissue, improved solubility, sustained release, improved patient
compliance, minimized side effects, and enhanced cellular internalization. (Gopinath,
2013) Additional vaccines such as Prevnar 13В®, which protects against
Pneumococcal pneumonia and other invasive diseases such as ear infections in
patients 6 weeks through the age of 17 and over the age of 50, can be quite helpful in
the treatment of infectious diseases. The vaccine elicits an immune response that
protects the patient from infection of the 13 separate strains of Streptococcus

correlate to each other. In the beginning we reviewed the topic of nowadays
Universities and what has changed recently and how such change might have affected
administrational structure on empowering faculty. We used the data provided to us in
the case study to determine the following facts. First, Universities Environment has

improvements all caused a lot of adults ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents, the general public and the media seem to applaud these efforts (Wiggins).
The scores on these standardized tests, such as the ITBS, are published in many local

using predominately this test data. If this teaching to the test is beneficial for raising
university s test scores, then maybe we should change the whole university
environment to become more aligned with those elements that would foster
improvement on these tests. If it raises test scores it must be sound educational
practice. Can this be accurate? Empowerment Through Online Education
In a 2007 report published by the Sloan Consortium, most universities stated that the
main reasons they continued to expand their online education programs were because
such programs improved student access to education. For example, when universities

Similarly, in taking an online course that allows them to complete assignments at
their own pace, students can work around their busy course and work schedules, as
well as tailor their coursework to their own personal learning styles. Students
increasingly enroll in online courses over their summer break while they live with
their parents and work summer jobs.

19. Why Was Alexander Hamilton Was A Clever
Alexander Hamilton was a very clever man. Many believe that he was clever for
the right reasons and many also believe that he was clever for the wrong reasons.
On the website www.theatlantic.com , Alexander Hamilton was placed 5th on the
top 100 most influential Americans. I think that Hamilton did amazing things such
as being a founding father for our country but some people think that those things
just ruined our country from the very beginning. Born in the British West Indies,
he arrived in the colonies as a teenager, and quickly embarked on a remarkable
career (History.com Staff). When Alex was ten his father, James A. Hamilton,
abandoned him, his brother, and his mother. Two years later his mother, Rachel
Faucette died of a fever. Alex received that fever at the same time as his mother and
his health inclined while his mother s declined. After both parents vanished, an
older cousin took Alex and his brother in to be a guardian. The cousin of the
Hamilton s committed suicide. The brother and Alex were both were left to be
orphans. Alex traveled to America hoping for a better life and I believe he created
a good one. To have a better life, Alex decided to go to college even though he was
broke. Enrolled at King s College (now Columbia University) in 1774 (American
History Central Staff), he studied really hard to pass his classes quickly to gain a
proper job. He studied mathematics and wrote a lot.Hamilton was known for being
amazing at writing about anything. He
20. Rehabilitation After Stroke Rehabilitation
Strokes are a prevalent occurrence. Every year, nearly 800,000 people have a stroke (
The Internet Stroke Center, n.d.). Its ramifications can be disastrous ranging from
impairment, disability, to even death. Rehabilitation after suffering from a stroke is
necessary to have a successful recovery. The current protocol for stroke rehabilitation
begins during the initial hospital admittance. The therapyis then transferred to an
inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation center. This decision is made considering the
severity of the stroke and the patient s accessibility to a clinic. Stroke rehabilitation
taking place in the home, instead of an inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation center,
would be an alternative for patients to consider. An important... Show more content on

One of those important players is an occupational therapist. Occupational therapists
often look at the individual holistically. They understand the importance of how
emotional well being, healthy life habits, and social connections play in recovery for
patients who have suffered a stroke, as well as addressing the continuous physical
rehabilitation. Occupational therapists also focus and engage stroke survivors, as
well as their families, to lead independent healthy lives and emphasize the importance
of human connections. Occupational therapists do this by helping the patients and
their families develop coping strategies to deal with loss, promoting psychosocial
health, promoting healthy living strategies, as well as providing education for the
clients to minimize any potential for a stroke relapse. Most importantly, occupational
therapists use their knowledge in activity analysis and adaptive methods to help the
individual complete necessary and meaningful life occupations, promoting their
independence ( The Role of Occupational Therapy in Stroke Rehabilitation, n.d.).
Completing this therapy in the patient s home can decrease medical expenditures as
well as give a more realistic context and environment for patient therapy to be
successful and

In developing countries like India, accident falls are the main cause of dental trauma
and anterior teeth are frequently affected10.The treatment options are decided by the
position of the fracture line, length of the remaining root segment and the presence
or absence of a coronal segment. The chances of healing with calcified tissue is
poorest in cervical third fractures.1,11 If the fracture line extends below the level of
the alveolar bonecrest and the apical root segment has sufficient length, the treatment
alternatives are crown lengthening, orthodontic extrusion, reattachment, post crown
and extraction.
Crown lengthening is performed if the fracture line is not more than 1 2 mm below
the alveolar bone crest. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

22. Analysis Of Bless Me Ultima
It can be argued, as human beings, we are students of life, and death is one of the
hard lessons that we will encounter. Our faith is not a fixed concept, it is affected
by a convergence of factors and events in our life. A person s faith is a complex and
differs from one person to another, but one thing is for certain, it affects how we
look at life and how we approach life. Rudolfo Anayas Bless Me Ultima divulges into
the life an inquisitive six year old Antonio as he transitions from a young boy to a
man and becomes cognizant of life s tragedies. His inquisitive nature that persists to
understand himself and his world bears an internal struggle that leaves a rift of
ambivalence that mentally tears him between opposing ideals.... Show more content

He still goes back to the idea of his preordained future in priesthood. Anaya also
uses symbolism to show the stark contrast between the stain of blood and the sweet
waters of my river. The idea that Lupito s blood was spilled as a result of his
impure and sinful actions is now tainting and defiling the purity and sanctity of water
could be paralleled to Antonio s innocence defiled and diluted by the horrors he had
just witnessed. Arguably, Lupito s death is an unjustified persecution of an ill man.
His actions actions that he was not completely conscious of stemmed from the
horrors of war which brings about the question of justice. Why would God let this
man a man not fully conscious of his actions be held responsible, punished, and
persecuted?
The second death that Antonio witnessed furthered his negotiation with faith and
caused him to question God s fairness. Narciso s death permeated Antonio s vision
of a just God. Antonio questions how a compassionate God could co exist with the
presence of evil. During his life, Narciso was vilified and alienated. Tenorio s
killing of Narciso is an example of an archetypal Good versus Evil situation. Tenorio,
the nefarious manifestation of all that is evil, condemned Narciso, a misunderstood
but ultimately, a good man, to his death. He looks to God for Narciso s salvation.

Campus rape is an increasing phenomenon in modern day institutions of higher
learning. In defining the term rape Vladutiu C.J. et al. (2011) highlighted that it is a
form of sexual assault which involves sexual intercourse. On the other hand, Fisher et
al. (2000) defined campus rape as sexual assault which occurs to students attending an
institute of higher learning. However, for rapeto be categorized as campus rape, it has
to have happened within the college or university environment. Therefore, in order
for rape to qualify as campus rape, it has to be reported as having occurred on
campus property. The following information describes the prevalence of campus rape,
the victims or groups affected by it, factors which cause or contribute... Show more

Further support is supplied by Fisher et al. (2000) who reviewed the 1997 National
Institute of Justice study on rape and reported that between one fifth and one
quarter of women within college campus report rape cases within each year. It was
further stated that, Women within college campuses, and the social values and
believed associated to campus rape are at greater risk for rape and other forms of
sexual assault than women in the general population or in a comparable age group
(Fisher et. Al pg. 3). Based on other findings in a study conducted by Martin et al.
(2009) 20 25% of female undergraduates experience rape in their college life.
However, though rape among male students occurs at a lower rate, the students also
report rape cases.
Among the major groups of people who have been affected by campus rape first
year students are more vulnerable to sexual assault (Krebs et al., 2009). This is
due partly to the inexperience and familiarity of the campus environment. The
freshmen are also regarded as having increased fear over older students and are
often unaware of the administrative structure. Therefore, their probability of
reporting rape is low compared to older students who understand the institution in
detail as well as any procedures and rules. The major argument for the lack is that it
is difficult to classify the different categories of rape victims in terms of age or race.
As a result of rape within college campuses occurring
24. Frank Norris’s Novel McTeague Essay
Frank Norris s Novel McTeague
Frank Norris s novel McTeague explores the decay of society in the early twentieth
century. Set in San Francisco, a place where anything can happen...where fact is often
stranger than fiction (McElrath, Jr. 447), Norris explores themes of greed and
naturalism, revealing the darker side of human psyche. What can be found most
disturbing is the way that Norris portrays McTeague, in shocking detail, as nothing
more than a brute animal at his core. Norris explores the greed and savage animalism
that lurks inside McTeague.
McTeague is first portrayed as a gentle giant. The reader is introduced to McTeague
as he sits in his dental parlor, smoking his cigar and drinking his steam beer. He is...

Despite the fact that the two are deciding which one will have Trina, without her
input on the matter, they feel that they are both noble men. The dentist treats his
friend for an ulcerated tooth and refuses payment; the friend reciprocates by giving
up his girl. This was nobility (Norris 48 9). After this encounter, the two men go
back to their flat where a fight between two dogs is about to occur. Norris uses
foreshadowing at this point and more animal imagery to describe the silent rage
growing inside Marcus. Suddenly the quarrel had exploded on either side of the
fence. The dogs raged at each other, snarling and barking, frantic with hate (Norris

adding to the feelings of tension between the two.
After Trina and McTeague plan to be wed, she wins the lottery providing a catalyst

25. Daniel D Addario s Article Everything Is Trolling Now
Daniel D Addario wrote an article called Everything is Trolling Now, which is
about internet trolling. Trolling is generally regarded as an intentionally offensive
remark or action against a person or group of people who hold a certain ideology
in order to get a reaction (421). However, D Addario takes note in the article of an
apparent oversaturation of the word troll. Individuals will call many different things
a form of trolling, to the point that it seems as though just holding an opinion is
enough to be considered as a personal attack against other people. D Addario even
mocks this by occasionally placing quotation marks around the word troll, to call into
question a particular instance of its usage. Through sourcing, comparisons,... Show

He uses this metaphor to address what might be the underlying problem in regards
to trolling: People don t want to actually think critically of their own opinions or
the opinions of others. We all simply assume that we re right in our taste of music,
for example, because it s what we ve always enjoyed, and we can t imagine a world
where we are wrong in our tastes. But, despite the complexity of the internet and
the amount of data, opinions, and news articles floating around, we haven t
mentally evolved to be able to process all of that. Not just in the respect that there
is so much on the internet to begin with, but also in the respect that we ll read an
opinion article and not seriously attempt to reconcile what we read in the article
both to what know and what we believe. We want to believe that we re right either
all or most of the time, but don t want to put in the effort to prove that we actually
are correct. We don t want to put in effort we don t think that we need to put in. As
long as humanity continues to try not to really think about what we believe, the word
troll will continued to be overused by anyone and

Even to his competitors Augustine s writing was respected due to the power and

28. Abolishment In Frankenstein
Despite how extravagantly different the creation scene is in Shelley s novel
compared to what is presented on screen, there is little to say on the subject. As
already mentioned in the introduction, the tradition of exuberant, showy creation
scenes didn t begin with the original textit{Frankenstein} (1931), but with the 1910
edition, where it lends half of its runtime to the conjuration of the monster. Each
iteration of Frankensteinthereafter copies this extravagant method of portraying the
creation scene, and as they do so, knowledge of Shelley s minimal description is lost.
First, we must explore why her version of events isn t inclusive of the embellishment
and indulgence on screen.

Yet he acknowledges that this moment is not one to celebrate, and thus compensates
for this using other methods, turning the showy scene from a contradiction to a
juxtaposition that emphasises the monstrosity of not only the monster, but Victor s
actions in creating it: First, the monster lunges from a great copper sarcophagus
filled with water to make it a kind of womb. After he lands sprawling in the spill
tank under it, Victor lifts him up, vainly tries to show him how to walk, then ties him
standing to a set of chains. But when the struggling creature is struck by a falling
piece of wood and shortly goes limp, Victor concludes that he himself has killed this
luckless heir to massive birth defects. and that this evil must be destroyed...forever.
footcite{James Heffernan, Looking at the Monster: Frankenstein and Film pp.143}
This departure from the novel highlights Victor as a more paternal figure than the
text implies, making a point of the undercurrent of dread the scene should evoke,
yet contrivedly conveying Victor s repulsion at the creature in this scene, Victor is
less repulsed by the creature, as Shelley s text strongly emphasises, but more
toward his own actions. It is only when Victor wakes up to the sight of the
lumbering creature in the next scene does he cry out No! . This decision creates a
confusing tone where it could initially be misconstrued by the audience that Branagh
s Victor is merely startled by the presence of a monster he had presumed dead,
muddling up the message of Victor s regret and of the repercussions of rebirth that
Shelley intends on

Integrated Reporting
Introduction
Integrated reporting is a new method to focus on various aspects of an organizing and
can be rapidly gained international recognition. In this paper, I will focus on its
definition, function, effect, valuation and framework.
A.Definition and Explanation
According to the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), the Integrated
reporting () is defined as is a process founded on integrated thinking that results in a
periodic integrated report by an organization about value creation over time and
related communications regarding aspects of value creation. An integrated report is a
concise communication about how an organization s strategy, governance,
performance and prospects, in the context of its external environment, lead to the
creation of value in the short, medium and long term. (Integratedreporting n.d.)
The primary requirement of integrated reporting is treat value as beyond financial
terms a non current overdue development offer that approximates 80% of

that connecting firm relationships with stakeholders, building a base of loyal
customers and dealing with environmental risk, etc., integrated reporting keeps
analyzing non current strategy and predicting documents, including strategy, the
environment in which it would deliver and how the organization has and will. The
International Integrated Reporting Framework acknowledges that

Family The Taino Indians had sturdy familial ties and related families lived
together. They lived in very organized kingdoms and small villages, their order was
decided by the chiefs. The Taino s appearance was bronze colored, average height,
dark, flowing coarse hair, and dark and slightly oblique dark eyes. The men were
typically naked or sported a breech cloth called nagua. Single women walked
around naked, while married women wore an apron made of cotton or palm fibers
to cover their genitalia. The length of the apron determined their rank size. The
Taino culture was a polygamous one. The male cacique as the leader was
permitted to have more wives than the other men in the villages. A woman whom
was married to a cacique was considered a great honor. Church Among the Taino
community, there was a hierarchy of creators. The Yocahu was the highest creator.
Jurakan was constantly angry and governed the power of the hurricane. Other
Gods were the Zemi and Maboya. The Zemis was a God of both sexes and it was
characterized by images of human and animal figures. The Taino s thought that by

33. Serial Killer
When you hear the words serial killer, you instantly think about people like Jeffrey
Dahmer, Ed Gein, Ted Bundy, or Charles Manson. You don t think about a family
man with a wife and two children, county board member, President of the church
congregation council, or a Cub Scout leader. Dennis Rader possessed all of these
shining attributes. He also possessed a dark secret. This secret had festered in him
from an early age and grew as he got older. Dennis Raderhad fantasies about bondage,
control, and torture which eventually led to murder. Rader s reign of terror began in
1977 and ended with his capture in 2005, almost 30 years later. He labeled his
victims as projects . He hunted his prey in stages he described as the trolling stage
and stalking stage . He even called the tools used for his trade his hit kit . Dennis
Rader was a stone cold killer who had no plans of stopping.
The letters BTK stands for Bind, Torture and Kill , which was Rader s mode of
operation and a name he gave to himself. Throughout the years and in numerous
communications with the police, he talked about his need for acknowledgment. In
the 1990 s BTK had disappeared from sight when, without explanation, he re emerged
in 2004. This re emergence was more than likely due to his need for acknowledgment
or public attention. In 2004, Rader started sending multiple letters, clues, and photos
to the authorities that led to his capture and arrest in 2005.
Dennis Rader was born on March
34. The Consequences Of Beyond Good And Evil
The driving force behind Beyond Good and Evil is Nietzsche s insight into human
psychology and its consequences regarding traditional philosophical methods. The
main points that support this fundamental idea are found in the Preface and Part 1,
particularly Aphorism 23. Although Nietzsche does not present his ideas in the form
of clear arguments (with premises and conclusions) the following are
characterizations what I believe to be the thrust of his main points. First, we are all
born with innate desires from which we cannot escape, as they are biologically built
into our psychology. These desires drive all action and thought, including all
philosophical reasoning. Futher, these desires can be boiled down to one fundamental
will, the will

has few forms that contribute the increasing the game. For instance, indoor soccer,
beach soccer, and street soccer. These are kind of soccer game that people around the
world playit, and this is evidence on the simplicity of the game, and the lovers can
play it in variety of categories. Salazar (2010) provides that the game has variety

In this experiment, 4 different eggs were placed in different substances to see the
changes in their masses. All three eggs had similar effects and grew/shrunk at
around the same rate. On the first day, the eggs had a shell and after 3 days the
shell disappeared. This was due to the acetic acid and water of the vinegar that it
was put in. The acetic acid and calcium carbonate of the shell creates a reaction in
which calcium acetate and carbonic acids are formed. These products decompose and
become water and carbon dioxide. The bubbles around the eggwere from the carbon
dioxide. Along with the shell dissipating, the egg size increased as well as the mass.

After a day, the eggs became very deflated because a lot of the water left the egg.
Corn syrup has no water so the egg had a higher concentration of water which
caused it to move from the inside to the outside of the egg. The corn syrup also went
into the egg and vinegar and proteins left. After adding water, the egg size increased
due to osmosis. The water on the outside went in and the proteins, vinegar, and corn
syrup left the egg. The solution on the inside was hypertonic to the solution on the
outside with those three things that left the egg. To reach equilibrium, things with
higher concentration went to the other side of the membrane. The egg was bigger
when it was in the water because the it had less solutes such as the acetic acid which
would make more water move from the lower concentrated solution to the other side.
The vinegar has a lower concentration of water so less water would move to the
other side of the membrane. An application of this experiment would be in selling
vegetables. In markets, water is sprinkled onto the vegetables because it makes them

Heroism, Magic and Retribution in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit
A fantasy is an imaginary world where all things imaginable can be brought to life.
J.R.R Tolkien portrayed fantasy through his use of skilled craftsmanship and a vivid
imagination, which was presented in each piece of literature he wrote. In Tolkien s
two stories The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings we see the theme of fantasy brought
to life through three essential elements, heroism, magic and retribution. Heroism is
shown through the character s courage and bravery in situations where conflict
arises and this enables them to be seen in a new light. Magic is a form of
extraordinary power seemingly through a supernatural force; it is used in a
combination of combat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a child this character encountered Smaug for the first time while fleeing the
ruination of their city; now even though Bard was overcome with the fear that
every mortal has when they are near one of these tremendous beasts, he was
determined to stand his ground due to the love he had for their small town. He was
able to accomplish this impossible task because a small thrush perched on his
shoulder and told him of the one weak spot of the dragon, the hollow of its left
breast. Bard then inflicted death upon the terrible Smaug with his last arrow and was
nearly killed himself by the tremendous weight of the beast in the process, but he
jumped out of the way and into the water just in the nick of time. With a shriek that
deafened man, felled trees and split stone, Smaug shot spouting into the air, turned
over and crashed down from high in ruin. (229)
A character that displays the traits of heroism is one who overcomes the odds
through the use of unique and valuable qualities; this remains just as true in The
Lord of the Rings as it does in The Hobbit. One truly heroic act occurred when
Gandalf the Great, determined to defend the fellowship took on a Balrog, this huge,
bat like source of evil stood on the bridge to freedom and did battle with the poor
mage. Gandalf, stricken with fear caused the bridge to collapse and with it fell the
Balrog. However, with one last effort
40. The Cave Paintings Of Chauvet Pont D Arc Cave
The cave paintings of Chauvet Pont D Arc are one of the oldest prehistoric sites in
the world. It is located in the Ardeche region of southern France. Chauvet Pont D
Arc cave was only discovered as recently as 1994. Jean Marie Chauvet and his team
of cavers just happened to stumble upon it when they removed a rumble of stones
that blocked the passageway (Introduction to the Cave). This is such an
extraordinary piece of art history due to the time period and what it can tell us about
our history. Through the rich history, to the art inside the caves, and the
interpretation of what it means, Chauvet Pont D Arc cave it is nothing less then a
story that has to be told. When you walk into the 400 hundred meter long cave, it has
enormous chambers. The floor is scattered of archaeological and paleontological
remains, including the skulls and bones of cave bears, which hibernated there, along
with the skulls of an ibex and two wolves. Bears also left remains of scratch marks
and immeasurable amount of footprints (Clottes, Chauvet). In 1998, the distinguished
prehistorian Dr. Jean Clottes headed the first research team in Chauvet Cave, under
great security. Chauvet Cave s importance is based on two factors: firstly, the
aesthetic quality of these Paleolithic cave paintings, and secondly, their great age.
With one exception, all of the cave art paintings have been dated between 30,000
33,000 years ago (Introduction to the Cave). These fascinating images of animals

Not Quite There The minute bell rang. Break was over. Referee started yelling at
us to start. Sweat was dripping all over the place as I toss my bottle of water to my
coach. I was one point off and my opponent still had to get four.
I watch the faces in the crowd. Most of them blank or just trying to catch it all on
film. My family s faces are blank, but I knew exactly what they were thinking, I
knew it was just a mask. The opponent s family has gone close to giving up. It was
rare to get such a comeback at such an important event. Someone made a face at me
and laughed. He s trying to divert my attention. I look away from the crowd and
concentrated on the strip I am standing on. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Fast as lightning, he was so ready and once again, I saw it in my mind before it
actually happened and didn t react quickly enough. My heart pounded in my chest,
the cheering from the other side dropped my morale like concrete in water. I
needed one more, just one more. I saw the words forming in the referee s mouth
before I heard it and a couple seconds later, the familiar cheer form the other side
arose once again. I glanced at the score and winced, for he had caught up. The next
point was everything. Why is this happening to me. My peripheral vision grayed
out, my eyes couldn t stop blinking, my legs lost all the explosive power I relied on
to get this far. I ve gone too far for this, don t mess up, don t mess up, don t mess up.
But once again, I saw it.
I know exactly what he s going to do, but it is too late. I could only stare at the
inevitable. It was over, all of it.
I tore my equipment off in a matter of seconds and poorly stuffed it all in my bag,
loose clothing hung out but I pulled the zipper as far in as I could and just left it
there and pulled a seat.
I sit and watched as my opponent yelled in excitement and as he turned around, and
winked. I saw it, nobody else did. An angry pulsing energy was growing each
second as I watched him boast to all those around him. The energy burned through
me and soon, I start shaking. I couldn t stand his cocky derision and left for the
42. Academic Achievement And Advancement For Students
Educators and school administrators have the largest responsibility of promoting
academic achievement and advancement for all students, regardless of their cultural
background. Throughout the United States, schools enroll students with different
academic levels and cultural backgrounds. As of 2011, African Americanchildren
embodied 16% of the public schoolpopulation in the United Statesand Muslim
children, less than 3% (National Center for Education Statistics). Keeping this in
mind, students from cultural minorities can be at risk of academic failure due to the
environment they are raised in. As schools educate such a vast array of students, it is
crucial that educators and support staff be competent in working with a diverse group
of students. School counselors, personnel, and educators need to be able to
collaborate with students in helping them reach their potential in academics, social
skills, future planning, as well as mental health concerns (NCES, 2009). It is
imperative that school counselors are informed and understand the cultural values
and beliefs of minority groups in order to help students achieve academic and
personal success.
Discussion
Schools within the United States are progressively becoming more culturally diverse.
Because of this, it is critical that educators and school personnel are aware of the
difficulties and types of support individual students from diverse cultural backgrounds
may need. Research has shown that minority groups are

music, and literature. What factors might have brought about this situation? Offer
specific examples to illustrate your general statements (think of Picasso, Matisse,
Brancusi, and Mondrian).
Pablo Picasso, who was born in Malaga, Spain, changed and created new style of
painting while moving from a place to another. He went throng his blue period, in
which he used different shades of blue to paint, during his three trips to Paris. After
he settled down in Paris finally in 1904, he met Fernande Oliver and started
changing his style of art from dull blue to light color like red and pink. He then kept

Photography and film are two new invented modern media that play important roles
in modernist aesthetic. Since photography was invent, it developed really fast and
was boosted by new printing technology in the later period of 19th century. Film
developed rapidly also since it was invented in early 20th century. Film demonstrated
both audio and visual information and Photography illustrated light and shadow that
excites human s eyes. They can quickly inform people and give visual enjoyment and

narrative description of them might? It s a sunny day. Today I have many things to
do. First of all I want to take a shower. I feel a lot of energy is coming and it is good.
Better prepare breakfast and start doing my housework. Since they are still sleeping, I
have to cook for them. I try to make some omelet but there is not enough eggs but
still pretty good. I spent too much time for housework and I am late for school. We
have PE class today. The class is awesome and I learn a lot. I m happy to be a

my dog gets off of the leash but there is no car and I can run after it to get her back.
It is so lucky.

44. How The English Changed North America Essay
For civilization to evolve, changes must be made. Imagine what the world would
be like if the Natives were just alone and no country migrated to North America.
Would technology even exist? Would the main weapons be just spears and arrows?
Would medicine be invented so people could live long lives without dying of
diseases? These are questions that will never have to be answered because the world
evolved into a much bigger and better place. The English changed North Americano
matter what the cost was. Some may argue that the English are the ones to blame
for King Phillip s War, but that is not the case here. The Indians did not want
change and overall, it did not work out real well for them. In this case, the war was
brutal on both sides. The Natives did not change their customs as much as the
English wanted them to. By not assimilating to European values and customs, the
Natives caused the war over hatred of English values and traditions and made the
world a dangerous place to live in. Daniel Richter was the author of Facing East
from Indian Country and Jill Lepore wrote The Name of War. Lepore made some
very interesting points that will be discussed that can make the Natives look like
savages, but the English were not angels either. King Phillip s War is one of the most
brutal wars in America and there really was not anything good about it. Mistakes
were made and history was changed. Richter took a standpoint that focused on the
English pushing away the
45. The And Its Effects On The Populations
Honeybees are important pollinator in the ecosystem, which provide pollination to
crop. Most of the crops are relied on the pollination of honeybee for reproduction.
However the colonies of the honeybees are affected by a syndrome, which causes
the population of honey bee decrease rapidly in winter. Honey bee undergoes a
serious pressure from Colony Collapse Disorder(CCD), which is a mysterious
problem. It causes a dead colony occurs with no adult bees or dead bee bodies can
with the queen, honey and immature bees still present in the colony. Honey can be
found in the hives, but the adult bees are losses from the colonies. The scientific
cause for CCD is still undetermined, but the predictive causes of the syndrome are
pathogens, parasites, management stressors, and environment stressors. It begins
from 2006 that the beekeepers reported losses of 30 90 percent of their bees. To
prevent the further lost of honeybee in the United States, ARS and the National
Institute of Food and Agriculture develop a Colony Collapse Disorder Action Plan to
help solve the problem. The decreasing of honey bee population caused by Colony
Collapse Disorder has huge impacts on the agriculture in the United States.
Honey bee is an important pollinator in the ecosystem and plays an important role
in the agriculture. Pollination can increase the value of crops for up to 15 billion
dollars ( Colony Collapse Disorder Action Plan. ). 1.3 million out of 2.4 million bee
colonies are
46. Type 2 Fibres Lab Report
Type II fibres are more susceptible to fatigue than type I fibres because, to begin
with type II fibres have smaller and fewer mitochondrion unlike type I fibres that
have more and larger mitochondrion, which in return results in greater oxidative
enzyme activity, greater utilization of oxygen and will have a greater fatigue
resistance compared to fast twitch fibres. Secondly, type II fibres have a lower
myoglobin concentration which hinders its ability to store and facilitate oxygen
diffusion which will cause type II fibres to fatigue more faster. Another factor is that
type I fibres have a much smaller musclefibre diameter, which means there is a
smaller diffusion distance allowing for oxygen to be used faster since it doesn t
have to travel to far, unlike the large type II fibres. The last factor that causes for a
large fatigue index being associated with a high percentage of fast twitch fibres is
that type I fibres... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two mechanisms that could explain a sex difference in the fatigue index is that
females have higher capillarization oxygen delivery and oxidative capacity when it
comes to mitochondria size and number along with higher concentrations of
myoglobin compared to males, hence why they have a much smaller fatigue index
than males. Also, males have an advantage in absolute endurance in upper body
exercises while the Biodex measures the lower body. The males were less capable of
maintaining the contractions from fatiguing in the legs compared to the females
because males tend to have type II fibres occupying the whole muscle and due to all
the factors talked about in question one (mitochondrial size and number, myoglobin
concentration, muscle fibre diameter and capillarization) this would explain why
males have a higher fatigue index for this particular
