The History of the Globe Theatre Today we know of The Globe Theatre on because of the
famous playwright and director known as William Shakespeare. The events which took place in
The Globe s past and what is its future may be, have become, and will be, an important part of the
history of theater and drama. This paper will discuss the history of the Globe theatre, the importance
it held at its time, and the importance of The Globe Theater now and in the future.
In 1576, during the Elizabethan era, James Burbage and a partner went to a landlord, Giles Allen,
to lease some land for a theater. Giles and James agreed to a 21 year lease in which James would be
allowed to build his theatre known as The Theatre . It was located north of the London Wall
(Mabillard). Starting in 1596, when the lease for the land for the theatre was due to expire, there
were many legal issues between the landlord and tenant. There were also disputes between those
involved in running the business. James Burbage died in 1567 and he left his two sons, Richard
and Cuthbert Burbage, his shares of the theatre.(Globe) The Burbage brothers took an extreme

Most of my students have specific learning disabilities that relate to the basic psychological
processes that involve, understanding or using spoken or written language, which may contribute to
their ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell and to perform mathematical calculations.
One of my students, who I will refer to as, JV has a behavior disorder. It s important to note that
children with behavioral disorders do not necessarily have learning disabilities. JV is achieving
above grade level with his reading fluency, yet requires ongoing support with behavior issues. To
be specific, he is constantly making noises, will get out of his seat and roam about the room, lose
focus and begin talking about different things that interest him. It is very difficult for JV to
maintain focus for long unless a stimulating environment is provided.
I decided to reach JV by providing material that is of interest to him. Stories that relate to his

workers by giving information on a variety of measures assessing trauma and PTSD in Veterans,

hide his treasure, an old harmonica, from the neighborhood thugs. The thugs weren t successful
in getting Lemon s treasure. Greg returns home with a valuable lesson learned, that he should
value things in life. Greg changes from the beginning of the story to the end of the story. At the
beginning, Greg was careless about his grades in math. Next, he was curious when looking for a
place to hide from the rain. Lastly, he ends the story off by being a caring person when he
continuously asked Lemon Brown if he was okay. Greg Ridley was a dynamic character who
changed from careless, to curious, to caring, after his encounters with Lemon Brown.
