Examples Of Change In C. S. Lewis The Chronicles Of Narnia
C.S. Lewis The Chronicles of Narnia series often showed characters that went through change. Two
examples of characters that showed that they can change include Edmund from The Lion, The Witch,
and the Wardrobe and Eustace from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Both characters started out as
greedy people, but at the end of the story, both end up to be wise and thoughtful. Edmund started off
being a greedy traitor but then progressed to becoming Edmund the Just.. Edmund was the second
youngest of the Pevensie children, and he felt like the got the raw deal in his life. Because of his
attitude, it was easy for the White Witch to convince Edmund to betray his family for the possibility
that he may one day be King. However, after conversations with Aslan and reflecting on his
experiences, he decided that he needed to change course and support his family. The White Witch was
eventually defeated, and Edmund and his siblings were all Kings and Queens of Narnia. Overall,
Edmund went from being a greedy individual to a fair individual. ... Show more content on

At first, it looked like there was little hope for Eustace not only was he greedy, but he also seemed like
he never had real friends. Unfortunately for Eustace, a bracelet was able to magically turn him into a
dragon that could not talk with others. Eustace s circumstance forced him to develop a way to show
others his true self by his actions, not his words. He was able to act selflessly to save others and thus
earn the respect from others. The limitations imposed by his dragon form allowed Eustace to reflect on
his greed and change his outlook on

Summary Of Arlette Farge s Allure Of The Archives
Archives can be made up of letters, records, paintings, photos, artifacts, and others for preservation to
understand what occurred during a period in history or the perspective of a person s life. Many of
these archives can be found in museums and libraries around the world for researchers or historians to
obtain information about events that occurred in the past. Although, there are still hidden documents
that have yet to be discovered. When researchers or historian begin their journey of going through
these documents, they will soon realize the difficulties of finding a never ending answer to their
objective. Arlette Farge created the novel, Allure of the Archives, to provide a perspective of a female
researcher searching through archives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She visits the French National Archives, Library of the Arsenal, and the National Library to find
information related to women during the eighteenth century. Farge compares archives as judicial
reports because they share a similar preservation. For example, logbooks in the police departments are
archived because it can be easily accessed for future investigations. Judicial reports are like archives
discovered because people from the past may have left these documents or artifacts for future
generations to discover to conduct research. The researcher continues to discuss several issues she
came across when going through these archives. Before the creation of technology, many of the
discovered documents have deteriorated physically, and torn corners or margin nibble away by time
can swallow words whole. The writing in the margins has often become illegible, and a single missing
word can leave their meaning in suspense (Farge 56). This was an issue that occurred frequently
towards the researcher because some of them were incomplete and may have possible hold the
answers to the questions. Many of these documents may have been exposed to elements, such as
water, fire and others, that may have increased the deterioration rate. Luckily, technology has
advanced over the years to save these documents onto the computer before disappearing forever.
Another issue she endured was determining what was truth from fictional. Also, figuring out what is
important and useless to her research. For example, an event may have caused one person to fabricate
information to gain popularity, while another document may have left out important information. This
would lead the researcher to look for more documents to compare information from one document to

Pesticide and Insecticide
INTRODUCTION
Agriculture is the keystone of the Indian economy. Ensuring food security for more than1 billion
Indian populations with diminishing cultivable land resource is a herculean task. This necessitates use
of high yielding variety of seeds, balance use of fertilizers, judicious use of quality pesticides along
with education to farmers and the use of modern farming techniques. It is estimated that India
approximately loses 18 percent of the crop yield valued at Rs.900 billion due to pest attack each year.
The use of pesticides help to reduce the crop losses, provide economic benefits to farmers, reduce soil
erosion and helping ensuring food safety security for the nation. The Pesticide Management Bill 2008

Gout Prevention
Discussion
After mentioning the risk factors, causes and dietary recommendations, it may seem strange for
normal individals to consider gout prevention. However, prevention of gout should not to be
neglected, especially for male and postmensual women, as they are also the high risk group for
develpoing gouty arthritis.
Prevalence of gout in male is the double of that in female.3,11 The age specific and sex specific
incidence of gout in the UK in 2012 is shown in Figure 3 below.
Figure 3. Age specific and sex specific incidence of gout in the UK in 2012

After menopause, the effect of estrogen is lifted and the risk of hyperuricemia increases rapidly,
leading to the increase in gout incidence in women. In contrast, low estrogen level in male do not
provide them with the protective effect, resulting in the higher incidence of hyperuricemia and gout.
Therefore, man and postmenopausual women is suggested to prevent hyperuricemia by adopting
healthy lifestyle. Apart from following the dietary recommendations stated above, adopting low fat
and low salt diet and mantaining normal weight by regualr physical exercise could prevent Metabolic
syndrome, a risk factor of gout.
Conclusion
This passage addresses some risk factors of gouty arthritis and discussed dietary recommendations for
different groups to prevent developing or worsening of gout. Overall, hyperuricemia and gout patients
should adhere to the treatment regimen provided by medical professionals and follow the dietary
recommendations suggested, aiming to reduce sUA by medications and lifestyle changes so as to

Code Talkers Research Paper
Indian code talkers are a group of bilingual Navajo speakers that were used to transfer messages
during World War II. The Marine Corps recruited many of these Code Talkers to help them in the war.
The Marines were so protective of the Code Talkers that if there was any danger of the Indians being
captured for the Japanese to learn the code the Marines would have to kill the Code Talker. After the
Navajo Code, also known as the Type One Codes, were created the Marine Corps started a Code
Talking School. Along with learning the language they learned how to march in cadence, obey orders,
and keep their quarters very clean. It was here that over four hundred Navajos were recruited as Code

Tweed Supreme Court Case
One chilly December morning in 1868, William Boss Tweed smiled calmly as he lied to an entire
court during a huge publicised trial Boisterous and humorous, he endeared himself to the jury
members and escaped reproach. This trial was to address the huge issue of voting fraud that plagued
New York. The Democratic party, of which Tweed was a powerful member, illegally counted
Republican votes and doctored Democratic votes to outnumbered them. A letter printed in the paper,
supposedly from Sam Tilden, another Democrat, asked New York politicos to send in their estimates
of the votes right before the minutes were closed, and send them to a William M. Tweed (Ackerman

By fall, Tweed had coerced the New York Supreme Court into passing sixteen hundred naturalizations
daily, and even more from other courts. In a desperate attempt to extract control from Tammany Hall s
iron grip, Marshal Robert Murray placed Republican marshals to challenge immigrants votes, whether
they were legitimate or not. In retaliation, Tammany raised mayor John Hoffman prohibited anyone
from intimidating, obstructing, or defrauding any voter. Tammany deputies began arresting
Republican deputies. When the polls closed, Democrats delayed or made distractions, allowing their
backroom fixers to fix the numbers. Even Murray s tries to arrest the Tammany deputies resulted in
them just as quickly as they were thrown in jail being released (Ackerman 53 55). Hoffman became
governor, leaving Tammany s Grand Sachem seat empty for Tweed to fill (Ackerman 57). At this
point, Tweed won every battle that came his way. In 1866, as it would later be discovered, he, Hall,
Richard Connolly, and Peter Barr Sweeney started the Tweed Ring , which ultimately damned him.
Over the next five years, the foursome would make between $40 and $100 million dollars off the city
they claimed to love and protect (bosstweedproject). The Tweed Ring seized control of the city
treasure in 1870, funneling funds into their own private bank account so exceedingly that action had to

The Culture Of The Minoan Art
The Minoan civilization were forerunners of the ancient Greeks and they were a successful
resourceful society. Living on the island of Crete, the Minoans livelihood depended on the sea,
agriculture, and trading. The bravery and the agility of bull leaping plays an integral part in the
Minoan culture and the bull is also reflective throughout their art. Additionally, religion also played an
important role in the Minoan culture and this was evident in their artistic creations. Actually, the
Minoan art communicates a society of high spirited people, who adapted well to their surrounding
environment. As a matter of fact, the Minoans were remarkable engineers, building complex structures
like the palace at Knossos with dozens of rooms and corridors centered around a central courtyard,
without protective walls. More importantly, the Minoans were known for their wet frescoes, the
application of painting colored tints on the interior plastered walls of the palace. This type of Minoan
fresco presents a three dimensional effect, like elegant forms represented in an impressionistic manner.
Painting under the time constraints of the drying plaster, allowed for inventiveness, freedom, and
graceful lines, which was new to the art. More often than not, the paintings were tailored into a frame
of geometric shapes. The frescoes showed how the Minoans viewed the world, their cultural beliefs,
rituals, artistic beauty, elegance, physical gracefulness, and how they lived in harmony

Ego Vs Ego
In modern society, the influences of ego have been increasingly important for people to address
because the degree of ego determines people s individual and social development. This essay focuses
on the negative influences of high level of ego, which is egotism. It is defined as high level of
selfishness. In the meantime, the discussion of ego and superego is also introduced. Ego is defined as
the true self of personality that makes people look for pleasure and selfish goals while superego refers
to the part which makes people seek for morality and consciousness. Superego is formed in early life
by parental education and can help people by stopping egotism. Egotism influences people s
aggressive behaviors, restrict people s well rounded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The result of this is that they cannot judge or think about this world from an objective point of view.
Egotism can blind people and prevent people in different ways, such as personal development. An
online article on the website of GoodNewsNetwork confirmed why egotism can blind people: the ego
mind isn t contributing to humanity and isn t able to look at the world as a whole. It s only able to look
at a fragmented piece of the whole that it identifies as Me (GoodNewsNetwork 9). So, egotism must
be removed or we will not really be able to reflect on ourselves nor think about other things properly.
Holiday explained the urgency of removing ego: Ego is the enemy of what you want and of what you
have. It repulses advantages and opportunities. It s a magnet for enemies and errors (Holiday 150). If a
person only let the egotism lead himself, he will only take care of himself regardless of other people s
feelings because he will only react to his own emotions and principles for pleasure. This leads to the
third harmful influence of social disconnection. Human s personality is divided into ego and super ego
(Simply Psychology 5). If a person just let the ego rule himself, he will only take care of himself
regardless of thinking about other people s feelings. This can break down his

Examples Of Reckless Driving In The Great Gatsby
In a report done by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it was found that there was a
5.6% increase in the number of lives lost, on the roads, last year (Spector, U.S Traffic Fatalities Rose

described in the 1920s based book The Great Gatsby, and in the news recently, we ve used cars
recklessly. In both the news currently, and in The Great Gatsby, there have been examples of
Americans being reckless drivers. In The Great Gatsby, which is set in the 20s, Fitzgerald describes
the time as one of recklessness and care free. For example, when Nick is leaving the first party he
attended at Gatsby s (Fitzgerald 53). As he walked out, he noticed a huge crowd surrounding a car,
whose wheel had fallen off. After a night of drinking and having a good time at Gatsby s, the attendee
decided it s fine to drive home. Only to be stuck 50 feet from the house (Fitzgerald 53). Fitzgerald
depicts reckless driving again when, Myrtle was hit by Daisy. She was speeding down the road, going

around the world. Research in this area is allowing for more and more improvements to the various
aspects of a crop such as yield, visual quality, taste, nutritional value, disease immunity, and cold
resistance, as well as many other benefits. A further understanding of both the genetics of crops and
how to influence the characteristics listed above will support the lives of many, protect biodiversity,

Adam Mohamed Application of Genetic Engineering on Taro
Literature Review The article Genetic Engineering to Improve Quality, Productivity and Value of
Crops by Abhaya Dandekar provides information on the various benefits that genetic engineering
allows for in a plant. Regarding nutritional benefits, genes that concern the production of healthy
amino acids, oils, and other substances can be edited, removed, or introduced to increase the
abundance of these helpful substances, allowing for generally healthier crops. Studies on the popular
plant Arabidopsis thaliana have revealed much about influencing when a plant will begin to flower.
This research is valuable in that it permits a better understanding of how to control the length of the
period of time between the growing stage of a plant, and the flowering stage (when it can be
harvested). In crops such as cabbage, the flowering stage can be stopped altogether, letting the leaves
themselves be harvested, instead of having the plant die after flowering. Influencing the heat or cold
resistance of a plant could allow for the crop to grow in temperatures that it normally wouldn t be able
to, such as having genetically modified bananas manage to grow in a

The Effects Of Social Inequality In The United States
Seyedeh Elnaz Mirza Hosseini

Sociology 1 Professor Hoshiar
Living in a society that does not help its people to live comfortably and provide facilities for them to
achieve their demands, is harmful. One of these harmful affections is social inequality in each diverse
society. Social inequality occurs when resources in each society are distributed unevenly, typically
through norms of allocation, that engender specific patterns along lines of socially defined categories
of persons. The United States contains one of the most common social inequalities for its population
and that is social stratification and mobility and the government should strictly investigate this social
inequality for people who are living in the United States.
Sociologists use the term social stratification to describe the system of social standing. Social
stratification refers to a society s categorization of its people into rankings of socioeconomic tiers
based on factors like wealth, income, race and education (Griffith et al., 2016 p.187). In the United
States IQ is also one of the characteristics of social stratification in terms of personal skills,
achievements, and athletic abilities. People consider that social stratification in the United States
contains social classes such as upper class, middle class, and lower class. People who are categorizing
in upper class not only have power and control over their own lives but also their social status gives

Analysis Of The Book The Principle
Selected lithograph Paper (Edited) The The Principle was lithographed in 1918 by the artist named
Oskar Kokoschka . The Principle is a stationary, bust sculpture like lithograph that depicts a sad
laughing clown. The lithograph seems like it takes place in a large bare room with the clown bust
gazing up and to the right of the room as if is pondering or thinking and has been for a very long time
which gives the bust like lithography life.
The Principle, was published in 1919 on cream, smooth, Japanese woven paper. Was published by
Verlag Gustav Kiepenheuer from Berlin with the theme of death and war with political. The art work
has blood splatter all over it, especially from the mouth the meaning is war with the clown face
showing some type of comic sadness, and sadness is the heart of all comedy.
He was friends with a sculptor and critic named Adolf Loos, which influenced Oskar to turn away
from many of his old ways of decorative ideas and move on an expressive style of painting. 1910 he
was in contact with many expressionist circles in Berlin, one specifically was Herwarth Walden who
pushed and spread his work out to many others. Oskar was in the Great War, he volunteered for the
Austrian Army when the war started, but was heavily wounded in 1915 and left the army. From 1916
to 1931 a fellow named Paul Cassirer who supported and showed many of Oskar works of art in his

Intel s Training For Engineering And English As A Second...
Additionally, Intel was not satisfied with just bringing jobs and tax revenue to Costa Rica. The
company went a step further and developed the education system in a myriad of ways. This was also
advantageous for Intel s interests. Initially, Intel was concerned that Costa Rica did not have enough
skilled professionals to work in its new assembly and testing facility. In order for the plant to be fully
operational Intel would need to employ 1500 Costa Rican technicians (Cabrera Unruh, 2012). Intel

Once again, this was a success! In 2002, Intel embarked on the third phase which entailed establishing
even more highly complex programs and positions in Costa Rica. Hitherto, Intel only had these
complex programs and positions in other regions. The goal was to expand the manufacturing,
research, and development operations to Costa Rica. Intel collaborated with the universities again and
now built highly specialized laboratories and even created research study abroad programs for Costa
Rican PhD candidates (Cabrera Unruh, 2012). Interestingly, in 2004 only 10% of Costa Ricans who
graduated from the programs worked for Intel afterwards (Cabrera Unruh, 2012). Many of the
remaining graduates worked for other companies in the sector, some companies which were Intel
suppliers. However, this is still very smart business. In economics, education is considered a positive

development. In this case the development manifested itself in various forms. Intel s profitability and

happening in the United States but worldwide. Although the average person does not leave their home
planning on harming somebody that day, under the right circumstances almost every single person in
this world will commit an act of violence. Sometimes these acts are justified, such as when we are
trying to protect ourselves or a loved one, but what about the smaller acts that we all do every day. ...

You were afraid? Hopper asked. I was scared to death. I still am to tell the truth. (Fast 155) His fear of
the creature appears to have triggered his brain to categorize the creature as a threat, which would
explain why his instincts were triggered and he felt he had to kill it. When we feel threatened we react
to protect ourselves, we would not just sit there and let ourselves be harmed if it can be helped, but the
narrator seems to have had no reason to kill the creature. That is why I am asking you why you killed
it. You must have had a reason. Did it seem to attack you...or make any sudden motion towards you?
(Fast 154) The narrator answers no to both of these questions yet he still felt the need to kill the
creature. This is when Fitzgerald goes on to state the only reason the narrator killed it was simply
because he is a human and it is his instinct to do so. He then opened the doors to one of the wall
cupboards and there stood eight jars of formaldehyde and in each jay a specimen like mine and in each
case mutilated by the violence of its death. (Fast 155) It could not have been just a random occurrence
when eight others were killed by similar ways with people who also felt they had to kill the creatures,
even though there was no threat to any of the people who killed them. We don t look carefully at a
thing that is horrible or repugnant to us. You can t look carefully through a screen of hatred. (Fast

The Fetishism Of Commodities And The Structure Of Power
Throughout these last few weeks, the class has read writings from people who are battling similar
issues or trying to prove something. Power and how it relates to people is something that keeps
showing up. This is interesting because it s easy to look at these writings as dated and irrelevant
toward today s culture. Contrary to that belief, the writings have been able to relate to the issues and
thoughts of today. This may be because human beings tend to strive for power and the things that
come with having power. Interestingly in Marx s The Fetishism of Commodities and the Secret
Thereof , he talks about commodities and the structures of power. Today and in the past the people
who held power also held valuable things. In the past, the

The Case Of Eliza Emerson
The Decision Wake up, wake up! says my owner, Eliza Emerson. She has been my owner ever since
her husband, my old owner, died. I have been a slave my whole life and when our old owner died I
thought that maybe our new owner Eliza, would set us free if I paid her. She actually liked me here
and liked the earnings she got for paying me out. What I thought I could do after she said no was go to
court. When our old owner died we had already lived in a free state so I thought that since I lived in a
free state I was free. Unfortunately the first time I went to court I lost, the second time in a different
court I was declared free I was so happy then I thought I would cry. Then our owner appealed to the

College Is A Essential Tool For Life Essay
The research topic of the connection between students who are in college and the level of stress they
inquire financially and generally has had a huge impact on society. College is a very essential tool for
life. College is meant to learn and experience a variety of techniques to use in your everyday life. On
the other hand, college can become a very stressful place, whether it s because of your financial status
or in general. The increase in responsibilities after transitioning from a young adolescent to an adult is
a cause of stress. There are two different sources of stress, external stress and internal stress. External
stress is getting a bad grade on an assignments/test or relationship problems. Internal stress are
motivators that put high expectations on one s self to accomplish or achieve something. Financial
stress is worrying about how you are going to pay for something and where you will get the money to
pay for it. In academic communities financial stress can cause low performance in school work. Also,
stress can cause the low rate of attendance in the academic communities. The amount of workload
assignment wise and job wise can significantly bring stress due to the balance between the two. A
solution for financial stress and general stress could be to make more scholarships and grants available
to students, and find ways to relieve stress. In the article Surviving Stress and Anxiety in College
Beyond Cohen explains throughout the article better, and

The Dance Rehearsal And Swing Class
When I observed the dance rehearsal and technique classes, I saw interesting and informative
keynotes. The technique class that I went to was a Beginning Lindy and Swing class. The rehearsal
class that I watched was a Choreography Three class. Even if the two types of dance classes were very
different, they still had little bits and pieces that were similar and incorporated important concepts that
coincided with both of the two classes. Before this class, I had never seen a Beginning Lindy and
Swing technique class before, nor a Choreography Three class. In general, I had never seen an
instructor so passionate about expressing and teaching their craft to their students.
I chose to observe the Beginning Lindy and Swing class first and foremost, because it was the only
class that I could watch that did not overlap with my personal and academic schedule. The second
reason why I chose this class was because, I had the notion that this genre of dance class would be
interesting and historical to watch. This dance is also bold and pungent to look at. This style of class is
interesting because the dance choreography has multiple kicks and jumps which are repeated
consecutively throughout the performance. The reason I choose to watch the choreography three class
is because I wanted to see the students design their own choreography, and observe how it presented
cohesively to the audience.
In the technique class I expected to see male and female students in Lindy shoes and wearing

It was part of their Global Strategy as Cruze was General Motor s first global small car. According to
Chevrolet European Chief it is sleek, it has a high tech interior and arched roofline and most
importantly it was Chevrolet s first global product that would be the future of where the brand will be.
Before launching the Cruze, General Motor had been trying very hard for many years to make
Chevrolet as its main global brand. This is because they are very different from their main competitors
i.e., Honda and Toyota, General Motor has a huge brand portfolio in different countries. For example,
Chevrolet dominates in US, Opel in Europe and Buick in China. They also took over Daewoo in South
Korea in 2002 and after rebranding some of their models GM started selling them in Asia and Europe
under the name of Chevrolet.
There was a huge strategy of GM behind launching Cruze. With a brand new design, Cruze was
launched when GM needed the most. The major reason behind it was there was a huge downfall in the
auto sales of GM in US. That is why GM planned to launch a global product that would help them to
recover losses that they suffered.
RISKS INVOLVED:
Besides a vision to gain profit there were some risks involved as well with the launch of Cruze. The
first risk was tough competition from the rivals and another was low fuel economy. Cruze was
expected to give a fuel economy of around 40 plus miles per gallon which was good enough

The Test Of Patients Admitted At The Massachusetts General...
2. a) The study used a consecutive non randomized, non probability sampling method. The study
selected records of patients admitted to the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) between
September 1997 and August 2008 in a consecutive manner until a specific number was obtained. In
this study, the number was 297. The study excluded 62 records that did not fit the sampling
requirements. The final sample was n = 235 (Salinas et al., 2012). When using consecutive sampling
techniques, the researcher includes all patients who agree to participate, provided that they meet
specific pre established criteria. The researcher will stop the selection process when the desired
sample is achieved. This sampling technique is similar to the convenience sampling technique except,
that it aims to represent the whole cohort of the population (Fain, 2013). It is considered the most
reliable non probability sampling technique. This sampling method is more credible and possesses a
higher validity level than any other non probability sampling method. It also decreases the possibility
of researcher s bias. However, this sampling technique faces the same issue of all the non probability
sampling techniques as the possibility of bias is always present (Fain, 2013). Another drawback of the
consecutive sampling technique lies within the possibility that the response rate and the type of
individuals responding may influence the findings. The responding individuals may have life
circumstances or personal

Dr Sapolsky Baboon
1. Dr. Sapolsky s research in the Masai Mara National Park of Kenya involved collecting blood
samples from baboons to measure hormones involved in the stress response. After anaesthetizing the
baboon in an unassuming way (to avoid hormones produced from anticipatory stress) he collected
blood samples from their bodies. What he observed was adrenaline and glucocorticoids dictate the
stress response. The physiological changes to the body during the stress response are the lungs work
overtime to deliver oxygen to the bloodstream, and the heart races to pump oxygen throughout the
body so muscles respond instantly. The blood pressure needs to go up to deliver energy. The body will
turn off anything that is not essential at that moment. Examples ... Show more content on

b) The Dutch Hunger Winter is an example of how stress damages us before we are aware of its
presence. Tessa Roseboom concluded our bodies respond to famine in the same way they respond to
other stressors, so she endeavored to research if the fetuses of the women pregnant during the famine
could be affected by stress. She identified over 2400 people who could have been impacted. Her
research revealed the stresses they underwent as fetuses still impacted them 60 years later. Babies
conceived during the famine have increased risk of cardiovascular disease, higher
hypercholesterolemia, are generally more responsive to stress and are in poorer health than people
born before the famine or conceived after it. Stress hormones in the mother s blood triggered a change
in the fetus nervous system as it struggled to survive. This was the fetus first experience with stress,
and 60 years later their bodies remembered the trauma. Her discoveries shed light on how it is not just
fat cells that build up in response to stress; brain chemistry, the capacity and ability to adapt to stress,
and how prone one is to psychiatric disorders are all things affected by our earliest interactions with

There were a lot of struggles for equal rights in America, and we have come a long way. In the past,
slaves and women of our country were not given very many rights. Slavery was officially abolished in
1865, due to the thirteenth amendment.. Since this amendment, there has still been numerous racial
issues, but people are willing to stand up strongly for what they believe in. Adding the nineteenth
amendment also brought Americans a sense of equality, because if allowed women the right to vote.
Women had been fighting for their rights since our country began for their equality. Along with these
movements, there have been several including equality of gender, race, and religious beliefs. To this
day, America is still taking steps to insure all people have equal rights. Recently, in 2010 our country
passed the Equality Act which prohibits discrimination of those undergoing gender reassignment.
Equality between people does not necessarily mean having the same opinions, but having the same
opportunities. Throughout history America has provided equality to all issues brought up, which gives
us hope that we will continue to live in a country where freedom is most definitely

Similarities Between Plautus The Conduct And Treatment Of...
First off, Ancient Rome is very famous for its similarity with Ancient Greece in that it used plays and
fights in the arenas as sources of entertainment for its citizens. A wide variety of performed and
written plays are available to the modern historian and can be used to delve into the culture of Ancient
Romans, and some of the plays are written about slavery. In The Conduct and Treatment of Slaves,
playwright Plautus depicts the horrors of serving as a slave under an inconsiderate master. In the play,
a master, Ballio, is revealed to show no mercy as he whips and flogs his slaves into submission. The
repetition of abusive rhetoric and constant physical violence make it clear that Ballio is a slave master
whose wants and needs are

The International System And The Anarchism Of The...
According to the neo realism, the international system is structured by anarchy , in contrast to
domestic structure that is structured by hierarchy . The anarchy this term does not mean chaos or
disorder, but it means the absence of the world government or higher authority above the states that
provides security and stability and rule of law. This structure is the outcome of the sovereignty of the
states, as the unites of the international system are the states, and they are equals. This concept of the
anarchy has its roots in Thomas Hobbes` arguments about the individual in the state of nature, which
means the people `s life in a condition without government. In the state of nature, people will struggle
for resources and they rationally plan to hit first as an anticipatory defense because they fear that
others invade them. Neo realism consider that Anarchism of the international system is permanent and

The Myers-Briggs Personality
This past Friday the Myers Briggs test determined my personality to be within the INFJ category. The
character description helped me to identify different aspects of my personality, and I have reviewed
the major ways I communicate with others and progress through various emotions. The career page
encouraged me to consider possible careers matching the conditions under which I best thrive. The
review also pinpointed my God given gifts, showing my role in His will. As my result connotates, I
am predominantly introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging. I had only a slight preference of
introvert over extrovert, playing likewise to the facts that INFJs have outward reaching outlooks and
seek to empathize with others on an intimate level.

Living on the island of Crete, the Minoans livelihood depended on the sea, agriculture, and trading. The bravery and the agility of bull leaping plays an integral part in the Minoan culture and the bull is also reflective throughout their art. Additionally, religion also played an important role in the Minoan culture and this was evident in their artistic creations. Actually, the Minoan art communicates a society of high spirited people, who adapted well to their surrounding environment. As a matter of fact, the Minoans were remarkable engineers, building complex structures like the palace at Knossos with dozens of rooms and corridors centered around a central courtyard, without protective walls. More importantly, the Minoans were known for their wet frescoes, the application of painting colored tints on the interior plastered walls of the palace. This type of Minoan fresco presents a three dimensional effect, like elegant forms represented in an impressionistic manner. Painting under the time constraints of the drying plaster, allowed for inventiveness, freedom, and graceful lines, which was new to the art. More often than not, the paintings were tailored into a frame of geometric shapes. Egotism can blind people and prevent people in different ways, such as personal development. An online article on the website of GoodNewsNetwork confirmed why egotism can blind people: the ego mind isn t contributing to humanity and isn t able to look at the world as a whole. It s only able to look at a fragmented piece of the whole that it identifies as Me (GoodNewsNetwork 9). So, egotism must be removed or we will not really be able to reflect on ourselves nor think about other things properly. Holiday explained the urgency of removing ego: Ego is the enemy of what you want and of what you have. It repulses advantages and opportunities. It s a magnet for enemies and errors (Holiday 150). If a person only let the egotism lead himself, he will only take care of himself regardless of other people s feelings because he will only react to his own emotions and principles for pleasure. This leads to the third harmful influence of social disconnection. Human s personality is divided into ego and super ego (Simply Psychology 5). Studies on the popular plant Arabidopsis thaliana have revealed much about influencing when a plant will begin to flower. This research is valuable in that it permits a better understanding of how to control the length of the period of time between the growing stage of a plant, and the flowering stage (when it can be harvested). In crops such as cabbage, the flowering stage can be stopped altogether, letting the leaves themselves be harvested, instead of having the plant die after flowering. Social inequality occurs when resources in each society are distributed unevenly, typically through norms of allocation, that engender specific patterns along lines of socially defined categories of persons. The United States contains one of the most common social inequalities for its population and that is social stratification and mobility and the government should strictly investigate this social inequality for people who are living in the United States. Sociologists use the term social stratification to describe the system of social standing. Social stratification refers to a society s categorization of its people into rankings of socioeconomic tiers based on factors like wealth, income, race and education (Griffith et al., 2016 p.187). In the United States IQ is also one of the characteristics of social stratification in terms of personal skills, achievements, and athletic abilities. People consider that social stratification in the United States contains social classes such as upper class, middle class, and lower class. We researched this with an interview with Cooper Norris from the Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD). Cooper was a drive team member from FRC Team 3162, the all Deaf team from RSD. After one year of competition the team folded. Cooper revealed that there was not enough student interested from the 135 students enrolled at RSD. Cooper noted that the communication between the mentors and the students was difficult because there were only two interpreters for the entire team. He went on to say that the interpreters did not have engineering or technical expertise so this was another factor that made it difficult in the communication process. The interview also revealed that there were communication issues at the Finger Lakes Regional at RIT. The Principle is a stationary, bust sculpture like lithograph that depicts a sad laughing clown. The lithograph seems like it takes place in a large bare room with the clown bust gazing up and to the right of the room as if is pondering or thinking and has been for a very long time which gives the bust like lithography life. The Principle, was published in 1919 on cream, smooth, Japanese woven paper. Was published by Verlag Gustav Kiepenheuer from Berlin with the theme of death and war with political. The art work has blood splatter all over it, especially from the mouth the meaning is war with the clown face showing some type of comic sadness, and sadness is the heart of all comedy. He was friends with a sculptor and critic named Adolf Loos, which influenced Oskar to turn away from many of his old ways of decorative ideas and move on an expressive style of painting. 1910 he was in contact with many expressionist circles in Berlin, one specifically was Herwarth Walden who pushed and spread his work out to many others. Oskar was in the Great War, he volunteered for the Austrian Army when the war started, but was heavily wounded in 1915 and left the army. In order for the plant to be fully operational Intel would need to employ 1500 Costa Rican technicians (Cabrera Unruh, 2012). Humans resorting to violence and harming others is a daily occurrence, but why? Is it in our nature, are we instinctively violent, and why is it that these acts are not only happening in the United States but worldwide. Although the average person does not leave their home planning on harming somebody that day, under the right circumstances almost every single person in this world will commit an act of violence. Sometimes these acts are justified, such as when we are trying to protect ourselves or a loved one, but what about the smaller acts that we all do every day. ... When we feel threatened we react to protect ourselves, we would not just sit there and let ourselves be harmed if it can be helped, but the narrator seems to have had no reason to kill the creature. That is why I am asking you why you killed it. You must have had a reason. Did it seem to attack you...or make any sudden motion towards you? Before this class, I had never seen a Beginning Lindy and Swing technique class before, nor a Choreography Three class. In general, I had never seen an instructor so passionate about expressing and teaching their craft to their students. I chose to observe the Beginning Lindy and Swing class first and foremost, because it was the only class that I could watch that did not overlap with my personal and academic schedule. The second reason why I chose this class was because, I had the notion that this genre of dance class would be interesting and historical to watch. This dance is also bold and pungent to look at. This style of class is interesting because the dance choreography has multiple kicks and jumps which are repeated consecutively throughout the performance. The study selected records of patients admitted to the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) between September 1997 and August 2008 in a consecutive manner until a specific number was obtained. In this study, the number was 297. The study excluded 62 records that did not fit the sampling requirements. The final sample was n = 235 (Salinas et al., 2012). When using consecutive sampling techniques, the researcher includes all patients who agree to participate, provided that they meet specific pre established criteria. The researcher will stop the selection process when the desired sample is achieved. This sampling technique is similar to the convenience sampling technique except, that it aims to represent the whole cohort of the population (Fain, 2013). It is considered the most reliable non probability sampling technique. This sampling method is more credible and possesses a higher validity level than any other non probability sampling method. It also decreases the possibility of researcher s bias. However, this sampling technique faces the same issue of all the non probability sampling techniques as the possibility of bias is always present (Fain, 2013). Another drawback of the consecutive sampling technique lies within the possibility that the response rate and the type of individuals responding may influence the findings. The responding individuals may have life circumstances or personal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After anaesthetizing the baboon in an unassuming way (to avoid hormones produced from anticipatory stress) he collected blood samples from their bodies. What he observed was adrenaline and glucocorticoids dictate the stress response. The physiological changes to the body during the stress response are the lungs work overtime to deliver oxygen to the bloodstream, and the heart races to pump oxygen throughout the body so muscles respond instantly. The blood pressure needs to go up to deliver energy. The body will turn off anything that is not essential at that moment. Examples ... She identified over 2400 people who could have been impacted. Her research revealed the stresses they underwent as fetuses still impacted them 60 years later. Babies conceived during the famine have increased risk of cardiovascular disease, higher hypercholesterolemia, are generally more responsive to stress and are in poorer health than people born before the famine or conceived after it. Stress hormones in the mother s blood triggered a change in the fetus nervous system as it struggled to survive. This was the fetus first experience with stress, and 60 years later their bodies remembered the trauma. This structure is the outcome of the sovereignty of the states, as the unites of the international system are the states, and they are equals.
