Roles Of Religion In Ancient China
Often times religion is used as a way to enforce certain actions or justify a way of doing
something. This was discussed in relation to nature and primarily Western societies in an earlier
reading but also pertains to many social aspects of the Eastern religions (Tucker, Grim 2604). In
China, religion is shown to greatly influence the social hierarchy and could be used as
justification as to why people are in the positions that they are ( Poceski 27). One of the three
characters identified as the Three Sovereigns was a female figure who is said to have created the
first humans. According to myth, she molding the aristocrats first and did so carefully with high
quality materials. The later made figures were not made as carefully as the goddess

Persuasive Essay On Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood Federation of America or the PPFA provides healthcare for millions of men
and women across the globe. They provide many reproductive services and they have offices all
around the globe. They have sex education information to help inform people of the risks some
actions, like sex, can lead to and how to be safe. Many people think planned parenthood should be
defended, but Planned Parenthood should continue to be funded because they provide safe abortion
services, STD testing which includes treatment as well, along with women s health care services.
One of the many women s services that Planned Parenthood implements into their organization is
safe, medically supervised, legal abortions. Most of the individuals who are not in favor of
funding Planned Parenthood are solely against it because of the abortion services that this
organization provides. Without safe and legal abortions, the increase of unsafe abortions would
increase and some people may take drastic measures (Baptiste). In developing countries and
counties where abortion is not legal there are many safe abortions performed that could be
avoided if proper care was allowed (Baptiste). In this article Baptiste says, In El Salvador, a 1998
law went into effect that made abortion illegal with no exceptions including rape, life of the mother,
or incest. Women who are found guilty of having an abortion face two to eight year in prison. This
could promote unhealthy solutions to terminate an unwanted

The Animal Legal Defense Fund
Animal Abuse Murder and abuse cases never fail to startle society. Moral codes are flouted with
unmatched rigorousness by these indubitable egregious crimes. Sufferers in these cases are often
people. Nonetheless, these callous obscenities should not be seen as less important when animals
are the victims. Animals undergo horrendous abuse due to barbaric individuals, greed, and
unnecessary lab testing. Animals are beaten and abused on a daily basis due to barbaric
individuals. Whether it be from harmful intentions or pure negligence most cases go unreported.
Deliberate cruelty may involve beating, shooting, stabbing animals, or setting them on fire.
Neglect is not giving a necessary food, water, shelter, or vet care (Human Society). The lack of
attention and care for these animals can often lead to severe, and sometimes irrevocable damage.
The Animal Legal Defense Fund, ALDF for short, website tells of one story where neighbors of a
farm complained to the local humane society, that the Colliers were neglecting many animals on
their farm, including dogs and horses. When they went to their property to investigate, they
discovered dogs and horses in several states of neglect and starvation and seized them out of
concern for their immediate health (ALDF). Sadly, however, it can become much worse for
animals. Owners will sometimes purposefully abuse their animals. Unfortunately, occurrences like
these are hardly uncommon. One such example, from the RSPCA of England, the Royal

An Experiment on the Synthesis and Characterization of...
Introduction In this experiment, the focus will be the synthesis and characterization of biodiesel
fuel. Biodiesel seems to have become the substitute for fossil fuel. It can also be an alternative for
the petroleum based biodiesel. By having renewable resources such as corn, soybeans, peanuts and
other makes biodiesela viable option. Using these resources wouldn t help alleviate the problems
with fossil fuel in the US. Biodiesel is produced from the transesterification reaction of vegetable
oil. Transesterification is the reversible reaction where one ester is converted into another by
exchanging an ester group with an alcohol in the presence of a base.
Experimental
According to the Laboratory Manual, there are multiple steps. We will need 50mL vegetable oil,
10mL methanol, 0.5mL 9M NaOH, diesel fuel, salt and ice. For preparation of Biodiesel, various
types of oil were available for synthesizing biodiesel. Measure 50mL of biodiesel into a 250mL
beaker. Second, add a clean magnetic stir bar to the oil and the place the beaker on a stirring
hotplate. Adjust the stirring rate so that the solution is being well mixed without splashing and turn
heat on low. Third, while the mixture is heating prepare a solution of methanol and sodium
hydroxide. Measure 10mL of methanol into a small beaker. Add 0.5mL of 9M NaOH to the
methanol. Fourth, heat the mixture to 50C. As soon as the oil reaches 50C, turn off heat, but
continue stirring. Fifth, slowly pour the methanol/NaOH mixture

Emperor Shi Huangdi Research Paper
Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi
The Qin dynasty was the most abridged dynasty ever in Ancient China but even though that,
Emperor Qin is the most paramount man who has lived in Ancient China. You may think he came
from a rich family because he was an emperor but think again! Some documents state that he was a
son of a lowly merchant family. This text is going to tell you all the significant events that occurred
then Emperor Qin was ruling Ancient China. Emperor Qin should be a remembered person for all
the impacts he did in Ancient China.
Emperor Qin was the very first emperor in Ancient China, who was born on the 18th of
February, 259 BCE in Handan, China and died in 210 BCE, East China, China. He was buried in
Mausoleum of the first Qin emperor, Xi an. His son, Qin Er Shi, only ruled for three years which
mean Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi only ruled for eleven years. He started ruling at 221 BCE and

He stopped the wars between the seven major states of China and made it one big country. This
meant that unifying China made them stronger and easier to cope with, the reason the states had
wars was that they wanted to prove how supreme they were but since the states were united no one
had to prove anything. This is a major impact that Emperor Qin did and he should be well credited
for it.
Furthermore, Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi had the idea of building the Great Wall of China. Facts
show that he thought The Great Wall of China would ward off evil spirits and stop raiders from
coming inside the barrier. Also,
Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi the Qin dynasty was involved in fights with the Xiongnu tribe, but he
never defeated them, so he built a wall to be separated from him them. So, Emperor Qin Shi
Huangdi had an advantage against the tribe and loopholed the defeat. This was a smart idea made

Joel Shumacher s 1996 Film A Time To Kill
You re an attorney. Be proud. Your job is to find justice, no matter how well she may hide herself
from you. So you go on in there and you do your job, says Lucien Willbanks, a character who
plays a very wise former lawyer from Joel Shumacher s 1996 film, A Time To Kill. Jake
Brigance, a talented lawyer from Canton, Mississippi, takes on the murder case of Carl Lee
Hailey. Carl Lee is a black man accused of murdering two white men who raped and attempted to
kill Tonya, Hailey s daughter. This case takes place in a time when racism is still very prevalent.
The theme of the movie proves that even though time, place, and beliefs may change, justice must
always be served. That is the job of a lawyer, to help serve justice. A person might envision... Show

That something is the truth. Now it is incumbent upon us lawyers not to just talk about the truth,
but to actually seek it, to find it, to live it. What is it in us that seeks the truth? Is it our minds, or
is it our hearts? In his final defense, Jake makes a very valid point. The reputation of lawyers
leads many people to believe that all they want is to win the case, regardless of the consequence
that it may put upon the community. Though sometimes this can be true, Jake tells the
courtroom that the job of a lawyer is to find the truth. That task may sound easy, but when
considering all the influence from the media, people who lie to influence the case, and unclear
information, it can be hard to find the truth in a web of lies. An attorney s job is to inform the
jury of true events so that they can make a proper judgment. During his pain and suffering
caused by the loss of his daughter, Carl Lee loses his sanity and attacks the two boys, killing
them and injuring an officer who is also a friend. He did not mean to injure the officer, thereby
proving his actions were out of control and not what he would do in a normal state of mind. Jake
helps the jury see that it is not fair to judge Carl Lee simply by his act on killing the two boys. He
shows them that they must look at the entire picture. Carl Lee was not himself when he committed
his crime, but rather a grieving father who s actions were controlled by his unbearable

The Effect Of Bovine Growth Hormone Injections On Cows
According to Purdue University the United States is responsible for the production of over 20
billion gallons of milk per year. This milk is either pasteurized and sold or further manufactured
into other forms of dairy such as cream cheese or ice cream. Many Americans have an unrealistic
dream of where their milk is produced; a grassy farm where the cows are able to roam freely and
be milked by hand. However, this is not the reality in America. Today, most dairy farms use
machinery to milk their cows and often leave them in cramped spaces. In order to increase the
amount of milk a cow produces, farmers have started to treat their cows with bovine growth
hormone. Because of this practice many arguments have come up to stop the use of Bovine Growth
Hormone injections in cows. This is due to the alleged side effects this milk is said to produce; for
example cancer or antibiotic insensitivity. This leaves anyone who drinks milk is potentially
susceptible to these effects. The FDA gives details of the biology of Bovine Growth Hormone.
Bovine Growth Hormone is naturally found in all animals, including humans, and enhances growth,
development and health maintenance. It was discovered that by injecting cows with the hormone,
found in the pituitary gland, then their milk production would increase. In the 1980 s it became
possible to mass produce the hormone. Monsanto, Eli Lilly, Upjohn, and American Cyanamid are
the four companies that marketed bovine growth hormone. Monsanto

The Bible On Gender Roles In The Bible
The Bible on Gender Roles
The Holy Bible is full of advice on every issue known to humanity. This advice varies in topics
from society s functions to foreign policy and even gender roles. Today s western culture is very
confused when it comes to gender roles, swinging over the last over 50 years from a male
dominated society to a large portion of the feminist society fighting for female dominance and the
disappearance of chivalry. Society is always searching for answers from science and philosophy
but constantly fails to look in the right places. The Bible is the foundation of truth and it requires the
ultimate amount of attention if any community plans to be successful for any length of time. The
education of modern society on what the Bible says about gender roles is necessary to achieve
mutual understanding of beliefs.
The Bible is full of statements and teachings on the topic of gender. Unfortunately, these are often
ignored in the home. For example, the different roles of mothers and fathers. The Bible claims that
mothers are called to be involved in the teaching, nurturing, and mentorship of their children.
According to Proverbs 13:24, fathers are also called to discipline their children, to teach them, and
to mentor them. Parents roles are very similar according to the Bible with the caveat that fathers
are called to be the disciplinarians and leaders of the household. Another example of the
differences between genders according to the Bible is that of a Godly

Theme Of Mr Know All
As humans who want to avoid looking bad at all costs, it is difficult to swallow one s pride. We
admire people who manage to overcome this, and do the right thing. Upon first glance, we may
not be able to distinguish which type of people have this trait; however, this trait is necessary to
maintain and create positive relationships with others and can have huge effects in the future. In
Mr. Know All , the narrator s view of Mr. Kelada changed from one of immense vexation at the
start to one of great appreciation by the end of the story because of his actions. At the beginning
of the story, the narrator is prejudiced against Mr. Kelada before he has even met him. For
instance, when looking at his luggage, the narrator stated with disgust that, the wardrobe trunk
was too big. The narrator seems to despise how Mr. Kelada packed his belongings since a normal
sized wardrobe trunk is already quite large enough to begin with. Mr. Kelada s lack of
properness and his lack of containment of himself and the trunk annoyed the narrator as a typical
Englishman during this time period would not have packed so many things for just a fourteen
day voyage. In addition, later in the paragraph, the narrator notices Mr. Kelada s toiletries and
suggests, [they] would have all the better for a scrub, and then immediately says, I did not at all
like Mr. Kelada. At first sight of his belongings, he already has a strong opinion on someone solely
based on the cleanliness of their

Role Of The Natural World Security
Within the natural world security is fundamental to the survival of living things and so basic needs
such as air, food, water, disease avoidance and shelter from the elements are vital. Within the social
world like the natural security forms the basis to which people and society can function well, and
explains why securityis of primary concern through all spheres of said society. This assignment
seeks to look at the role matter plays in making social worlds secure or insecure. This will be done
by uncovering that which is often taken for granted about the role materiality plays in the social
world through theories, concepts and examples of security in various settings such as the
individual, the home, the city and other parts of society.
Matter is often defined as mass that can be physically observed by the senses, it can be measured
scientifically and is tangible , it could be said the material world unlike aspects of social worlds
is less abstract and easier to define [1], for example a building which comprises of bricks, wood,
metal and other materials built into a specific shape compared to a community which can relate
to people of the same place or shared values or interests amongst other meanings. That is not to
say that matter just is, it too can have agency and varying meanings dependent upon the context
of time, place and perspectives. A piece of turf to a gardener could be viewed as somewhere grass
grows , to sports fan where their team plays or historically

The United Kingdom s Spilt And How It Affects Their Gdp
The United Kingdom s Spilt and how it affects their GDP
It is the responsibility of every government to defend its citizens in all matters when it comes to
maintaining the economy. Every economy comes against different challenges including the
business cycles that may stem from the world market. In this essay I will try to explain the actions
taken by the United Kingdoms union government in trying to make sure that the economy profits
from all citizens and reduce the whole load to it. I will consider the recent events of their split from
the European Union.
There are so many countries in the world have been struggling because of a recession in their
country s economies and United Kingdom hasn t been an exception. A recession is a
macroeconomic term that explains one of the two different business cycles that economies face and
go through. The business cycles are characterized by either a thriving trend where there are more
business happenings supported with a rapid economic increase and parts of a recession where there
is obstruction of the economic development. There are many different features and aspects that
contribute to economic progress, which is measured through the gross domestic product. This factor
will include reserves, investments government spending and other factors within either an upsurge
or a reduction. A reduction in spending might lead to a recession while an upsurge in spending
could lead to expansion.

The Financial Analysis Of Terms On The Tunisian Stock...
Table 2 of the descriptive statistics shows a summary of the variables that were taken from the
financial statements and the annual reports of sampled firms on the Tunisian Stock Exchange.
Based on the table mean percentage of dividend policy was 0.630 which represents almost 63%.
This results in the fact that all the selected firm under consideration for the period of ten year
(2006 2015) had been a 42% decision to pay dividend to shareholder. The profitability variable,
Return on Equity (ROE) showed an average of 4 %. This percentage measured the involvement of

The results of the regression did not show a significant relationship between the dividend policy
and ownership duality. So, we cannot establish a relationship between dividend policy and
ownership duality; hypothesis H2, in this case, is not validated. Concerning foreign ownership,
the results indicate a positive and significant relationship between the level of the presence of
foreign shareholders and the level of dividend distribution. The relationship between the two
variables is significant at the 5% level. In other words, the more the level of foreign ownership
increases, the more the level of distribution of dividends increases. Consequently, Hypothesis H3 is
supported. This result is consistent with Cook and Jeon [19] that also found a positive relationship.
This concludes that foreign investors worried about their investments seek to reduce the agency
costs by reclaiming a high level of dividends. Finally, the Fischer test indicates significant results.
In addition, the R2 of 44% shows the power of the model.
1.Conclusion and discussion
The objective of this study is to investigate the existence of relationships between the structure of
ownership and dividend policy in an emerging market. To reach this end, we studied a sample of
non financial companies listed on the Tunisia stock exchange between 2006 and 2015. We used a

Inside Rap Music Essay
Inside Rap Music
Music, like mass media and television, has such a powerful influence on our society. People
think rap music is very negative towards society, which is not the case. Rappers teach people
about possible consequences a person may encounter if they choose the same route. Rappers tell
their life experience through their songs. Rap music does not influence violence; it educates
people on what is going on in the lives of urban people. When someone mentions rap music, the
first thing some people think is violence, sex, and drugs, negative, and worthless music. There are

The Pros And Cons Of Vgo Robots
Many students struggling with cancer or other terminal illnesses can t reasonably make it to
class every day, but they shouldn t have to miss out on the lessons and social interactions that
come with school. VGo robots can solve this problem by helping students attend class from afar.
The VGo isn t currently accessible to every family with a sick child, as models go for about
$6,000, but for those that can afford them they allow students to continue with the normal
activities of everyday life in spite of their illness even if through a not so normal means. What s
more, the greater the adoption of this technology, the more likely it is that the price will come
down, so it s worth thinking of ways to use this technology now. Autistic students often find
communicating with other people intimidating and confusing facial expressions and nonverbal
cues that other kids would easily pick up on are just harder to comprehend. Robots can look a
little bit like humans, but without all those confusing expressions that distract from what a
person is saying. The Nao robot has been helping kids with autism learn social cues, as well as
different educational lessons for a few years with a fair amount of success. Smaller children
working with the robot have learned how to identify the different types of animals in their lessons,
and slightly older kids can work with the robot (who provides responses to help them understand
their progress) to learn basic reading skills. The robots

Dworkinian s try to limit the indeterminacy by accounting for principles and would say that the
rule that stands is the rule that fits the settled law of the soundest theory. Realists counterargue
that while there may be legal determinacy when applying rule to small aspects of the law, the law
in general needs to be cohesive in order to create what Dworkin calls, the Soundest Theory of
Law. In this case, it is not clear as to what the soundest theory is, should the government decide
because they make the broadest rule of the land, or do we let the prison itself decide since they
routinely deal with strip search regulations and policies and would have a deeper understanding
of what the law should be. Altman would say that Justice Kennedy is correct in making his
decision because there can be no soundest theory of law due to the competing rules. Another
argument posed by the CLSers is the idea that there is no discoverable metaprinciple for
determining the soundest theory of law. Dworkin s argument is that principles are weighted and
the principle with the greatest weight should be binding when there is not rule in place, but doesn

between how Dr Adler communicates with his son and the way in which he talks about

The Bubonic Plague Essay
The Bubonic Plague
Introduction
Plague, was a term that was applied in the Middle Ages to all fatal epidemic diseases, but now it is
only applied to an acute, infectious, contagious disease of rodents and humans, caused by a short,
thin, gram negative bacillus. In humans, plague occurs in three forms: bubonic plague, pneumonic
plague, and septicemic plague. The best known form is the bubonic plague and it is named after
buboes, or enlarged, inflamed lymph nodes, which are characteristics of the plague in the groin or
neck or armpit. Bubonic plague can only be transmitted by the bite of any of numerous insects that
are normally parasitic on rodents and that seek new hosts when the original host dies. If the plague
is left untreated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Symptoms and Causes
The first symptoms of the bubonic plague are headache, vomiting, nausea, aching joints and a
feeling of ill health. The lymph nodes of the groin or of the armpit or neck suddenly start to
become swollen and painful. The pulse and respiration rate of a bubonic plague victim is
increased, and the victim will become listless and exhausted. The buboes will swell until they are
approximately the size of a chicken egg. If a case is nonfatal than the temperature will begin to
fall in about five days, and approaches normal in about two weeks, but in fatal cases death will
probably occur within four days.
Yersinia Pestis, an infectious agent is the cause of the Bubonic Plague. Yersina Pestis is a
bacteria, which means the cells lack the internal organization of eukaryotic cells. These bacteria
cells would contain the membrane but they would not be able to subdivide the inside of the cell.
These bacteria cells do not have a nucleus so instead they have a nucleiod that contains genetic
material. The two types of bacteria cells are gram negative and gram positive. Yersina Pestis is
gram negative and that means that antibiotics are less effective on the plague because of a
lipopolysaccharide layer over their walls that adds extra protection.
Lymphatic System
The bubonic plague has a major impact on the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is made up
of lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels, lymphoid

most painful injuries for athletes. ACL injuries normally occur in non contact activities like soccer,
basketball, volleyball, skiing, and gymnastics. Not only do they occur in non contact activities, but
they also occur when you suffer a blow to the knee. Common symptoms of ACL injuries include a
popping sensation, immediate pain, swelling, limping, stiffness, and feeling of the knee giving away.
A Torn ACL is also known as a Sprained ACL. It s common for ACL injuries to be injured along
with another knee injury like a meniscus or MCL tear. ACL tear s are categorized on a grading
scale of 1, 2, and 3. Grade 1 tears are typically just a partial

Regulatory Environment Of Hong Kong

Political regulatory environment
According to World Bank Group(2016), Hong Kong is the fifth ease place of doing business with
DTF score of 83.67, which means the regulation environment in Hong Kong helps the starting of a
joint venture in general. This represents in the sector of paperwork for starting a business, burden
of tax compliance, ease of enforcing a contract and the matters relating to trade.
Political regulatory risks
Hong Kong is a free port and does not levy any customs tariff (i.e. border tax) on imports and
exports. However, Hong Kong levies an excise duty on liquor (with an alcoholic strength of more

Besides taxes, importing Whiskey to Hong Kong is subject to other regulations, such as license
or permits, certificate of origin and health certificate etc (Yuen C. 2010). Whiskey traders in
Hong Kong are required to apply for licenses or permits for the import, export, manufacture,
storage or movement, which implies that traders need to apply for permit before they enter into
the market(Yuen C. 2010). Moreover, importing Whiskey to Hong Kong and selling in Hong
Kong are required to provide a Certificate of Origin, certifying the type, nature, quality and age of
the liquor (Hong Kong Customs and excise department 2016). The regulations in Hong Kong is
very strict for whiskey traders in terms of heavy taxes and additional requirements of importing
whiskey. Despite these regulations, sales of whiskey can still earn profit as they are selling at a
premium price compared with beer and wine. Whiskies are luxury products with high price and
targeting at wealthy customers who are not very sensitive to price. The higher price will offset the
cost and generate profits in total.
Political opportunities
Hong Kong is special administrative region of China. Since 2013 China and Hong Kong has signed
the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement(Agriculture Food in China 2015). CEPA allows a
zero percent tariff between Hong Kong and mainland China. So goods can be first imported by
Hong Kong and then re exported into the mainland.

What Is My Room Essay
My Room Everyone likes places they can go to, to let be in a safe place. Mine may not be the
prettiest, coolest, or most perfect by any means. For me it works the best when I need breaks from
my life and just relax, this is where I go to. It frees me from all the chaos in my life, and I can just
let go of things that are worrying me or things I don t need to be in my life. My safe place is my
room, my go to friend when I need one, I can always rely on my lovely room. Most roomsfit to
people s personality and what they think is the best for them. I was searching ideas on how to
recreate my room, and I finally found the best theme for me and how it fit my personality. The
room contains four walls, that are joined together, in a rectangle shape. My room is the biggest
one in the house, no not because I wanted this room, but because I shared it with my older sister.
No the room is all mine. Two the walls that are opposite of each other are painted Peppered Pecan
which is a browncolor, that I love so dearly. The other two walls are painted just plain white. If
dressers could talk they would tell me how much they love the color they are painted. Distressed,
with brown as the base coat, and an off white at the top, then sanded, to make the old fashion look
to them. There knobs are brassy which stands out, from the off white. Plants just bring a happy

Counseling And Christian Perspective On Counseling
Counseling and Christian Perspective Studying psychology and philosophy has made me ask
many questions. By what principles do people make decisions? What drives us? Where do
emotions come from? Are there such things as unconscious motives and thoughts or are those
ideas nothing more than the clever and profitable figment of psychologists imagination?
However, the main question I struggled with is who we are and how we operate? Counseling is
seen as a very solution focused approach. The temptation to rush quickly to the end of the
mystery novel must be resisted. The detective s clever conclusions cannot be fully appreciated
without first understanding the complexities of the tangle he unravels. The same principle
applies here: an adequate appreciation of solutions depends on an adequate understanding of
people and their problems. The Christian community and secular communities are overrun with
ideas about wholeness and growth. The solution of Calvary, for example, is only valued too the
degree that the problem of sin is grasped. If we skip the hard and sometimes tedious work of
figuring out who we are and why we struggle so much, then our efforts as counselors to help
others will be shallow and, in the long run, unhelpful. The relationship between Christianity and
Counseling Trust and obey, for there s no other way to be happy in Jesus. Could it really be as
simple as the hymn suggests? This sort of thinking sounds very hopelessly naive and dangerously
superficial. If

The Gempei War Analysis
Liam Brownlie Egan F Block 3/29/2018 The Gempei War; a battle of military might, or a
political feud? Word Count: 1544 Part I: Introduction The 1180 through 1185 Gempei War
between the Japanese Taira and Minamoto clans is often pointed to as an example of the Japanese
warrior ethic. The Heike Monogatari traditionally would argue that this is true, however, the reality
of the 12th century conflict paints a much different story. Analysis of the war shows that the
deciding factors of the war were not necessarily the military strength of the Minamoto, but instead
it was a brilliant and lucky political chess game played by Minamoto Yoritomo. Yoritomo was able
to develop strategic alliances with local lords across eastern Japan and benefited from... Show more

The Imperial Court neglected the many communities and prefectures that make up Japan. This led
to many local lords taking matters into their own hands, and establishing virtually autonomous
kingdoms each fighting each other for power. When the Gempei War broke out in 1180 Yoritomo
pounced on the opportunity to gain overwhelming support. With the establishment of the Kamakura
Shogunate, Yoritomo designed a system that would allocate authority to local military leaders that
would, in turn, remain loyal to the Shogun. During the Gempei War, Yoritomo offered these
positions to military lords across eastern Japan. With this strategy, Yoritomo was able to amass a
force that outnumbered that of the Taira. This quote addresses the importance of this fact, the war
s larger significance lay in Yoritomo s rechanneling of hostility among provincial warriors. By
promising them land and jobs when he won, Yoritomo assured the loyalty of warriors who wanted
to topple their regional rivals, (Selinger,4). Had Yoritomo not appealed to these lords, the Taira
would have been able to crush his

Romanticism Response To The Industrial Revolution
Romanticism was a response towards the industrial revolution. The movement rejected the idea of
reason that gripped the educational masses of earlier 18th century Europe. Romaticism idolized the

innovative ideas formed. The new movements that evolved from Romanticismare Nationalism,
Liberalism, and Conservatism. Liberalism didn t start out as a reactionary or branch off from the

Romantics reacting towards and rejecting the enlightenment, single handily brought both the
protestant and the catholic church back into the limelight. Conservatives would soon pick up on
this and believing that all humans are not intrinsically good, believed in the stronger control of the
church to maintain virtuous behavior, in both the citizen and in the state . In France and Austria,
conservatism was the most prevalent with strong ties to the Catholic Pope. Conservatism would
ensure peace during the Vienna congress. As romanticism dwelled in the unknown and the
personification. Nationalism became a popular movement by dwelling in the bonds of certain
cultures by location, religion, and even language. Johann Gottfried Herder (1744 1803) a German

Anime Vs Japanese Appime
Lately, in today society, anime are being dubbed faster than the past. Usually, it takes about a
year for an anime to be dubbed. Patience was killing me more, than waiting for the latest episode.
This is why I prefer Japanese version than the English dubbed version. I prefer subtitle anime
because I only wait once a week for a new episode, it contains the original context and it helps me
learn more about the language and the culture. Japan is an amazing culture that makes you want to
visit at least once in your lifetime. Not only is Japan the country of animebut it also has its own
sense of fashion, art, food, hot spring, tea ceremony, and much more that would peak anyone
interested. I was into learning the Japanese culture when I first started watching anime.
Watching anime is one of my hobbies. It is an animation produced in Japan. A few years ago,
when a new anime is released, it takes time for the dubbed version to be uploaded. Depending on
how popular the anime is or how demanding the fans are, the release dubbed version could take
up to 3 months or more. It also depends on many episodes there are, which could take months or
years to complete it. For example, the dubbed version of Hunter X Hunter (one of my favorite
anime) had just begun last year and it is being aired on Toonami every Saturday at 1 am. The
show is currently in episode 72, while the Japanese version is completed with 148 episodes since
2014. Instead of waiting for the new dub episode, just watch the

Persuasive Essay On Sex Offenders
Many of us were raised knowing the story of Daniel Morcombe, the thirteen year old boy
snatched from a bus station found murdered with the intention of rape, 8 years laters. Before the
murder of Daniel, Brent Peter Cowan was a known child sex offender who had two previous
offences with minimal penalty. In an interview with police Cowan stated I never got to molest
him or anything like that. He panicked and I panicked and grabbed him around the throat and
before I knew it he was dead. Daniel is one of many innocent and trusting children who have fallen
victim to these vicious repeat offenders. Outside of the family, the first people thought to be
responsible when a child is murdered, raped or abducted tend to be sex offenders in the area, so
why must a child endure such a heinous act before this information is revealed to the public? I
firmly believe that communities should be notified if and when a known predator on the
paedophile and sex offenders registry has entered their neighbourhood. (Quite engaging, with a
strong contention.)
A Hanson and Morton Bourgon study found that over a 15 year time period, the rate for
recidivism was a terrifying 35% for child molesters of boy victims and 24% for rapists. It is vital
to consider that there is an abundance of victims whose trauma prohibits them from coming
forward therefore a thoroughly accurate representation of repeat offences is severely limited. Brent
Peter Cowan is a prime example of a sex offender, whose minimal

Sylvia Beach s Ballet Technique
While Antheil was living in Paris in the 1920 s, Sylvia Beach introduced him to a filmmaker by
the name of Fernand LegГ©r. Together they came up with an idea that would eventually be
conceived as Ballet MГ©canique. While both the film and the score were created at the same
time, the two were very quickly separated into their own separate artistic entities. Inspired by the
factory setting he grew up in, and the avant garde art he was exposed to while living in Paris. The

But problems arose even without music, as the promoter Donald Friede the vice president of the
publishing firm Boni Liverwright had never promoted a live show, certainly not as big as this
one. The next problem was the backdrop behind the orchestra; Antheil felt that the traditional
curtain would not suite his needs so he asked Joseph Mullen to create two backdrops for the
performance. The first backdrop was created for his Jazz Symphony which depicted an African
American couple dancing the Charleston while the male is firmly grasping her buttocks in front
of an American flag background. This piece was performed by an African American orchestra.
This only heightened the controversy. The next one, created for Ballet MГ©canique depicts a
futuristic city with the focal point being a Dadaist representation of Marcel Duchamp s
Fountain, and a more than life size figure of a man jumping off a diving board that seemed to be
attached to a curved pipe of the sort generally used in connection with a toilet. Even after
thoroughly scaring the New York elite, more problems arose when the combination of the house
curtain and the two created backdrops absorbed a great amount of sound. Due to a mix up, the
string quartet originally planned to be played second, was played first. Leaving many audience

Hyperbole In Downsiders
Some humans can t accept difference. Most humans are locked up in a world where everyone has
to be just like them. The novel Downsiders by Neal Shusterman is an example of this. The novel
has the theme that when people separate into groups and cultures, they have a hard time
understanding the opposite and tend to judge. But those who accept, benefit greatly. The Author
used an extravagant amount of literary devices that have to do with the theme of accepting
difference. The hyperbole A frenzied group of crazed topsiders, (page 47) is an example. It s a
great example of the theme because it shows the opinion and viewpoint the downsiders have of the
topsiders. Through reading the quote you can get a sense that the downsiders want nothing to do
with the topsiders and that they think the topsiders run around pointless and don t get anywhere.
The quote also has some connotation in it, with the way it says frenzied. It makes you... Show more

Kant Evil
Everyone wants a good will, representing a true heart and good impressions towards people. A
good will has a lot of definition like talents, courage, respects...etc. On the other hand, it can be
very negative like disrespectful, harming or hurting people. As Kant said Understanding, wit, the
power of judgment, and like talents of the mind, whatever they might be called, or courage,
resoluteness, persistence in an intention, as qualities of temperament, are without doubt in some
respects good and to be wished for; but they can also become extremely evil and harmful, if the

I think it is all right to have a purpose behind the duty, but it should be depends on the whether the
purpose is negative or positive. If the purpose is positive, I think it can be considered as duty.
For example, a person donates his organs to a patient, his purpose is to help the patient instead
of his own happiness, or there is a situation that the patient is important to the donor. Both of the
situations are out of good will, a good purpose, so it should be considered as a good, moral duty.
To conclude, I believed a good will is built naturally, inborn but there are factors from the
growing environment like family background, peer pressure that affects the good will. These may
makes people become evil. On the other hand, I believed no matter there is no purpose or positive
purpose behind can be considered as duty. The Kant s idea of duty is no purpose behind because he
thinks duty should not benefit to ourselves but others. Sometimes positive purposes also benefit to

Human Papillomavirus Research Paper
The role of Human papillomavirus (HPV) as a necessary cause of cervical and other genitoanal
cancers has been established based on epidemiological and molecular research (1). HPV vaccines
targeting high risk HPV types 16 and 18, and low risk types 6 and 11 have been demonstrated as
protective against persistent infection, and hence carcinogenesis (2).
Introduction
Sexually transmitted infection with Human papillomavirus (HPV) is very common, with
approximately 50% of sexually active women having at least one HPV infection in the first 5 years
following the initiation of sexual activity (3). HPV infection is considered necessary, though not
sufficient, in order to develop cervical cancer. Evidence shows that almost all cervical cancers
contain HPV DNA, and that the attributable risk of infection for cervical cancer is higher than that
of smoking and lung cancer (6). Despite HPV being most commonly associated with cervical
cancer, the virus is capable of causing a number of cancers and benign lesions of the genitoanal
region in both men and women (4, 5). There are over 100 different genotypes of HPV based on the
gene coding for the L1 capsid protein, of which can be further classified into either high risk
oncogenic types, or low risk types (1, 5) . Of those considered high risk, HPV 16 and 18 are the ...

The View and Interpretation of the Term Genre
Discuss what we understand by the term genre and how it relates to the way we view and interpret
films
The way in which we, as an audience, view and interpret films can be seen to relate directly to
our understanding of genre . However, what is genre? Drawing on the knowledge of key theorists
and critics such as Steve Neale and Barry Langford this essay will first attempt to define genre and
our understanding of it before focusing on how genre relates to the audiences view and
interpretation of films. It will also touch upon the historical contexts of genre, and how genre helps
the film industry create films and their interpretation of film. An interpretation that differs in a
number of ways to that of an audience s due to their goals being different thanks to the ways they
view film. Before we can begin to delve into how genre relates to the way we as an audience view
and interpret films, we must first attempt to define and understand what the term genre means when
relating it to the film industry, in particular Hollywood.
Genre is a simple French word meaning type and therefore when taking this simple, direct

A Christian Worldview On The World Through The Lens Of The...
A Christian worldview would encompass the framework that we must view the world through the
lens of the Bible. Human Nature: I have not given much thought as to identifying my Christian
worldview on paper, and rarely have I given it much thought. To be a born again is to believe the
Gospel of Jesus Christ one must take a stand for the fundamental principles of the Gospel. Those
principles include belief in Godas the creator of the universe and all that are on the earth and Jesus
Christ as the Son of God who came to save the world from sin and redeem us back to God. The
absolute truth that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived, died on the cross for all mankind for
the sins both seen and unseen, and rose from the grave on the third day, who has now has
ascended to heaven. He will return to take us back to the place that he has prepared for the bride
to come and live with him in eternity. God the Father is the Absolute, Sovereign, eternal God
who has no beginning and no end, who moves in and out of time to have interaction at his will
with the children of men. The scripture is viewed as the infallible Word of God and they were
written by men of old who were inspired by God. Therefore, the Christian worldview that I
ascribe to are the ones that I have previously noted. Now there are those who would question or
disagree with my next principle, however, I feel that a Christian should possess this nature as well.
The Bible tells us in Acts 2: how the called were in the upper

Long-Term Consequences of Childhood Exposure to Domestic...
Long Term Consequences of Childhood Exposure to Domestic Violence
Abstract:
Domestic violence effects everybody in a family. Patterns of abuse from one parent to another,
between both parents or directed toward a child all have a composite effect of inflicting potentially
severe emotional damage upon the child. The research outlined here identifies domestic violence as
a serious sociological problem and consequently provides a usable definition of domestic violence
for the present study. This is followed by a discussion on the various psychological consequences
of exposure to domestic violence for a developing child. This includes acknowledgement of the
manner in which this exposure may damage the ability to formulate healthy social relationships
later in life as well as a greater proclivity toward behavior problems, learning difficulties, substance
abuse and a learned pattern of violent tendencies.
Outline:
Introduction:
Problem Identification: Domestic violence is a widespread sociological problem wherein women
and children are most often the victims. The problem is compounded by the fact that so much
domestic violence goes under reported
Support: According to an article by Hannah (1998), sparse data exists on the number of domestic
violence cases that arrive in the criminal justice system and what happens to them once they get
there. (44) The federal government and a majority of the states collect statistics on domestic
violence, but there are wide variations in

Gender Relations During The Jacobean Period
Deconstructing Gender Relations Gender in the Jacobean Period was approached differently than
gender in the 18th century. One can use the Jacobean period play Measure for Measure by William
Shakespeare and the 18th century play The Beaux Stratagem by George Farquhar to examine
gender relations during the two periods. The plays demonstrate how women were represented in
society and what societal expectations were at the time. The way women navigated their own
sexuality, finances, and power relation s improved noticeably from the Jacobean Period to the 18th
century. During the Jacobean Period women were not allowed to preform in theatres; all of the
players were men and boys (Spear 13). Because of the violent nature of theatres women didn t
attend plays as Groundlings and few could afford to sit above in the covered seats above. The
theatre was a place for corruption and immorality and women were looked down upon during the
Jacobean Period for attending performances in playhouses around London. The theatre was a
harsh place where audience members were tightly packed in. They would hiss, shout, and throw
rotten vegetables at actors they disliked or applaud and clap for those they approved of (Spear 14).
The play Measure for Measureshows the powerlessness of women during the Jacobean Period. The
femalecharacters in the play are helpless in determining their fates. The central female character in
Measure for Measure, Isabella, has been both idealized as an ideal woman

Parental Involvement in the Youth Criminal Justice System...
Summary of Context In their article Doug Hillian and Marge Reitsma Street examines parents
involvement in the youth criminal justice system in Western Canada. Their study was conducting
on ten Caucasian families nine of which were middle and upper middle class, with sons, involved
in the Juvenile Criminal JusticeSystem. The study was to determine the parents place in the judicial
system, which appears to make it more arduous for parents, attempting to deal with the difficult task
of parenting young offenders, while navigating a system, which labels, blames, and assumes that as
parents they are unfit, irresponsible, and uncaring. Hillian and Reitsma argues if one starts with the
conceptual approaches to youth justice,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, it is with the utmost importance, that the courts strategize, on how to empower and
motivate parent s participation and involvement. The most obvious or realistic approach, would be
to utilize studies with concrete outcomes and conclusion, or expound on, or develop a study or
focus group identifying the parents needs, parenting style, barriers, and other challenges that makes
parental involvement difficult. Thus, it would allow the implementation of practical and viable
solutions, specifically changing the systemic problems, empowering parents, and forging a
collaborative relationship between the juvenile justice system, the community, and parents. Some
things, should to be immediately done, such as treating parents with empathy and respect,
understanding that they have rights and should be informed of those rights. Some of the apparent
rights of the parents are fair treatment with dignity and respect, the rights to know what the courts
expects of them, and informed of all scheduled court dates and appointments, which could be
inserted in a pamphlet. The overall benefit would be to work together in a collaborative effort to
help reduce the recidivism rate among youth and lessen the inconvenient burden of the parents,
community and juvenile justice system.

Mental Health Of African American Male Populations Essay
A survey was conducted by Sherrill L. Sellers (Miami University of Ohio), Harold W. Neighbors,
(University of Michigan), and Vence L. Bonham (Michigan State University) in order to address the
interaction between goal oriented stress and overall well being in 399 college educated African
American associated with a historically black national fraternal organization all over the world.
Mental health of African Americanmale populations is poorly understood due to unique social,
racial, and psychological variables. Although many black men deem success possible, a great
number identify resistance to success in the form of prejudice, discrimination, and minimal
opportunities in comparison with their white counterpart. Due to this background, the researchers
attempted to answer the seemingly dichotomous interaction between stress and mental health in
this population. They hypothesized that goal striving stress would be inversely related to mental
health and that striving related coping strategies, such as racial attribution and John Henryism,
would moderate the relationship between goal striving stress and mental health (514) Furthermore,
the researchers hypothesized interactions between goal striving stress and two coping resources
racial attribution and John Henryism (514). Finally, a third hypothesis is that the active coping
style called John Henryism should act as a buffer when it comes to goal striving stress (514). It is
important to note that the sample population

A Brief Note On Skiing And Snowboarding Is A Big Part Of...
Living in Colorado means that skiing and snowboarding is a big part of their culture, especially
since we are lucky enough to live so close to the Rocky Mountains. Surprisingly enough, I never
had the opportunity to snowboard or ski in my entire life. I did not have the chance since I was
raised in a Peruvian household that was never formally introduced to any snow activities. Peru does
not get much snow which exempts their culture from activities such as skiing and snowboarding.
When I was searching for an activity to do nothing sounded better than finally going to the
mountains and learning how to ski or snowboard. Now that I had finally decided what my
challenge was, I needed to find someone who was passionate enough about snowboarding... Show

To my surprise, the total price for all the equipment I needed was more than I had previously
expected, which was fine because I was genuinely excited to go snowboarding for the first time.
The rental for the snowboard, boots, instructor and entry tickets package came out to $149, as for
the rest of the equipment that I had to buy it was a total of $75 and lastly, I contributed $15 for
transportation; The grand total for the trip came to $339. That s right snowboarding isn t cheap for
beginners.
Once we finally arrived at the resort we were surrounded by cool chilly air and snow, we had an
amazing view of the mountains and crisp green pine trees all around us, which was
breathtaking. This was also a great opportunity for me to take as many pictures as I could of the
amazing mountains around me. Thankfully that day there were no harsh winds and the slopes
were not icy yet since this was towards the end of March. In order to get our tickets and find our
instructor we had to enter this cabin like building; the bottom floor was where we picked up our
tickets and tried on boots, the upstairs they had a dining area where they had delicious hot dogs
and cookies.
After filling out the paperwork the nice women at the ticket counter gave us, we bought our tickets
and were told where to go for our appointment with an instructor whose name was Derek Wineman.

Hispanic American Diversity Essay
Summary The purpose of this paper is to discuss the culture and beliefs of four Hispanic groups.
The groups I have chosen to cover are: Puerto Rican, Mexican, Dominican and Cuban. Included
in the paper will be each group s linguistic, social, economical, political, familial and religious ties
or beliefs. Hispanic American Diversity Puerto Rican Puerto Rico s linguistic background is
strongly defined by Spanish and English. Most Puerto Ricans speak both languages fluently and
use both in everyday life such as; work, travel and communication. Puerto Rico s major political
division is the Popular Democratic Party (PPD), which supports commonwealth rank for the island;

Visiting and keeping in touch with one another is more of an obligation in Puerto Rican culture
and failing to do so could lead to harsh feelings. It is also considered offensive to turn down a
meal or gift from an individual. Puerto Rico is not a rich island. Most families are considered
middle or lower class due to the lack of job options. It is not very common for someone of Puerto
Rican decent to attend college or higher education; the norm is to work instead. The religion of
most Puerto Ricans is Roman Catholic, although very few actually attend services. Spiritualism
is also very common; many Puerto Ricans blend Catholicism with other traditions like
spiritualism, an idea that spirits of the deceased roam the island. Family is very important to
Puerto Ricans. They do not usually live in the same homes, but they do live near or in the same
town as their loved ones. This gives grandparents the option to offer child care when needed; like
when both mom and dad work. Living close to relatives also makes it easy to visit one another
often. Most Puerto Rican homes have at least three children that do not leave home until they are
married. They grow with the strict understanding of respect for their elders and are expected to take
care of their loved ones when they get old. Mexican Spanish is a significant joining power in the
Mexican American community. Mexican Americans will not forget their native tongue; though
equally, English and Spanish are spoken in

Choosing the Best Tactical Flashlight
h1 Choosing the Best Tactical Flashlight /h1
One of the most important steps in self defense and gun safety is knowing your target s location
and what is beyond and in front of it. Not practicing this vital step can result in severe injury or
even the accidental death of an innocent person. However, it can be extremely difficult to practice
this in a dark area. That is why tactical flashlights have become so popular with gun owners. They
re not only useful for illuminating the area that you re trying to protect, but they can also be so
bright that they can temporarily blind or stun the threat. If you want the best tactical flashlight for
your gun, focus on these important aspects while shopping.
h2 Selecting Type /h2
There are typically two types of tactical flashlights available for nearly any gun. These types are
hunting and military tactical flashlights. Their purposes are quite clear as the hunting flashlight is
more for hunting while the military one is more for combat purposes, but you don t have to focus
on those specific aspects to make your choice. You should weigh the specific features of each
flashlight instead.
h3 Hunting /h3
Tactical flashlights meant for hunting are very straightforward. They re meant to illuminate large
areas and possibly blind or stun certain prey for an easier shot. These flashlights don t have any
other real options besides a changing light color and brightness control, but they re very useful for
hunting purposes. If you re

How Did The Us Foothold In The War Of 1812
The War of 1812 was the first war where the US actually declared war on anybody. The US was
ready to expand and had their sights on Canada. The Northern states were against going to war
as they relied on trade a lot. The Southern and Western states, being more agrarian, wanted
expansion. The Americans who were ready for war were referred to as War Hawks, Henry Clay
being amongst them. The Federalists were against going to war. America didn t have many ships,
their leaders were out of shape and most of them were drinking. The only reason the US gained a
foothold in the war was due to Britain being preoccupied in the Napoleonic Wars, which they
defeated Napoleon not until 1814. With the defeat of Napoleon came the end of impressment since

  • 2. Roles Of Religion In Ancient China Often times religion is used as a way to enforce certain actions or justify a way of doing something. This was discussed in relation to nature and primarily Western societies in an earlier reading but also pertains to many social aspects of the Eastern religions (Tucker, Grim 2604). In China, religion is shown to greatly influence the social hierarchy and could be used as justification as to why people are in the positions that they are ( Poceski 27). One of the three characters identified as the Three Sovereigns was a female figure who is said to have created the first humans. According to myth, she molding the aristocrats first and did so carefully with high quality materials. The later made figures were not made as carefully as the goddess ... • 3. Persuasive Essay On Planned Parenthood Planned Parenthood Federation of America or the PPFA provides healthcare for millions of men and women across the globe. They provide many reproductive services and they have offices all around the globe. They have sex education information to help inform people of the risks some actions, like sex, can lead to and how to be safe. Many people think planned parenthood should be defended, but Planned Parenthood should continue to be funded because they provide safe abortion services, STD testing which includes treatment as well, along with women s health care services. One of the many women s services that Planned Parenthood implements into their organization is safe, medically supervised, legal abortions. Most of the individuals who are not in favor of funding Planned Parenthood are solely against it because of the abortion services that this organization provides. Without safe and legal abortions, the increase of unsafe abortions would increase and some people may take drastic measures (Baptiste). In developing countries and counties where abortion is not legal there are many safe abortions performed that could be avoided if proper care was allowed (Baptiste). In this article Baptiste says, In El Salvador, a 1998 law went into effect that made abortion illegal with no exceptions including rape, life of the mother, or incest. Women who are found guilty of having an abortion face two to eight year in prison. This could promote unhealthy solutions to terminate an unwanted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Animal Legal Defense Fund Animal Abuse Murder and abuse cases never fail to startle society. Moral codes are flouted with unmatched rigorousness by these indubitable egregious crimes. Sufferers in these cases are often people. Nonetheless, these callous obscenities should not be seen as less important when animals are the victims. Animals undergo horrendous abuse due to barbaric individuals, greed, and unnecessary lab testing. Animals are beaten and abused on a daily basis due to barbaric individuals. Whether it be from harmful intentions or pure negligence most cases go unreported. Deliberate cruelty may involve beating, shooting, stabbing animals, or setting them on fire. Neglect is not giving a necessary food, water, shelter, or vet care (Human Society). The lack of attention and care for these animals can often lead to severe, and sometimes irrevocable damage. The Animal Legal Defense Fund, ALDF for short, website tells of one story where neighbors of a farm complained to the local humane society, that the Colliers were neglecting many animals on their farm, including dogs and horses. When they went to their property to investigate, they discovered dogs and horses in several states of neglect and starvation and seized them out of concern for their immediate health (ALDF). Sadly, however, it can become much worse for animals. Owners will sometimes purposefully abuse their animals. Unfortunately, occurrences like these are hardly uncommon. One such example, from the RSPCA of England, the Royal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. An Experiment on the Synthesis and Characterization of... Introduction In this experiment, the focus will be the synthesis and characterization of biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel seems to have become the substitute for fossil fuel. It can also be an alternative for the petroleum based biodiesel. By having renewable resources such as corn, soybeans, peanuts and other makes biodiesela viable option. Using these resources wouldn t help alleviate the problems with fossil fuel in the US. Biodiesel is produced from the transesterification reaction of vegetable oil. Transesterification is the reversible reaction where one ester is converted into another by exchanging an ester group with an alcohol in the presence of a base. Experimental According to the Laboratory Manual, there are multiple steps. We will need 50mL vegetable oil, 10mL methanol, 0.5mL 9M NaOH, diesel fuel, salt and ice. For preparation of Biodiesel, various types of oil were available for synthesizing biodiesel. Measure 50mL of biodiesel into a 250mL beaker. Second, add a clean magnetic stir bar to the oil and the place the beaker on a stirring hotplate. Adjust the stirring rate so that the solution is being well mixed without splashing and turn heat on low. Third, while the mixture is heating prepare a solution of methanol and sodium hydroxide. Measure 10mL of methanol into a small beaker. Add 0.5mL of 9M NaOH to the methanol. Fourth, heat the mixture to 50C. As soon as the oil reaches 50C, turn off heat, but continue stirring. Fifth, slowly pour the methanol/NaOH mixture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This meant that unifying China made them stronger and easier to cope with, the reason the states had wars was that they wanted to prove how supreme they were but since the states were united no one had to prove anything. This is a major impact that Emperor Qin did and he should be well credited for it. Furthermore, Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi had the idea of building the Great Wall of China. • 7. Joel Shumacher s 1996 Film A Time To Kill You re an attorney. Be proud. Your job is to find justice, no matter how well she may hide herself from you. So you go on in there and you do your job, says Lucien Willbanks, a character who plays a very wise former lawyer from Joel Shumacher s 1996 film, A Time To Kill. Jake Brigance, a talented lawyer from Canton, Mississippi, takes on the murder case of Carl Lee Hailey. Carl Lee is a black man accused of murdering two white men who raped and attempted to kill Tonya, Hailey s daughter. This case takes place in a time when racism is still very prevalent. The theme of the movie proves that even though time, place, and beliefs may change, justice must always be served. That is the job of a lawyer, to help serve justice. A person might envision... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That something is the truth. Now it is incumbent upon us lawyers not to just talk about the truth, but to actually seek it, to find it, to live it. What is it in us that seeks the truth? Is it our minds, or is it our hearts? In his final defense, Jake makes a very valid point. The reputation of lawyers leads many people to believe that all they want is to win the case, regardless of the consequence that it may put upon the community. Though sometimes this can be true, Jake tells the courtroom that the job of a lawyer is to find the truth. That task may sound easy, but when considering all the influence from the media, people who lie to influence the case, and unclear information, it can be hard to find the truth in a web of lies. An attorney s job is to inform the jury of true events so that they can make a proper judgment. During his pain and suffering caused by the loss of his daughter, Carl Lee loses his sanity and attacks the two boys, killing them and injuring an officer who is also a friend. He did not mean to injure the officer, thereby proving his actions were out of control and not what he would do in a normal state of mind. Jake helps the jury see that it is not fair to judge Carl Lee simply by his act on killing the two boys. He shows them that they must look at the entire picture. Carl Lee was not himself when he committed his crime, but rather a grieving father who s actions were controlled by his unbearable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Effect Of Bovine Growth Hormone Injections On Cows According to Purdue University the United States is responsible for the production of over 20 billion gallons of milk per year. This milk is either pasteurized and sold or further manufactured into other forms of dairy such as cream cheese or ice cream. Many Americans have an unrealistic dream of where their milk is produced; a grassy farm where the cows are able to roam freely and be milked by hand. However, this is not the reality in America. Today, most dairy farms use machinery to milk their cows and often leave them in cramped spaces. In order to increase the amount of milk a cow produces, farmers have started to treat their cows with bovine growth hormone. Because of this practice many arguments have come up to stop the use of Bovine Growth Hormone injections in cows. This is due to the alleged side effects this milk is said to produce; for example cancer or antibiotic insensitivity. This leaves anyone who drinks milk is potentially susceptible to these effects. The FDA gives details of the biology of Bovine Growth Hormone. Bovine Growth Hormone is naturally found in all animals, including humans, and enhances growth, development and health maintenance. It was discovered that by injecting cows with the hormone, found in the pituitary gland, then their milk production would increase. In the 1980 s it became possible to mass produce the hormone. Monsanto, Eli Lilly, Upjohn, and American Cyanamid are the four companies that marketed bovine growth hormone. Monsanto ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Bible On Gender Roles In The Bible The Bible on Gender Roles The Holy Bible is full of advice on every issue known to humanity. This advice varies in topics from society s functions to foreign policy and even gender roles. Today s western culture is very confused when it comes to gender roles, swinging over the last over 50 years from a male dominated society to a large portion of the feminist society fighting for female dominance and the disappearance of chivalry. Society is always searching for answers from science and philosophy but constantly fails to look in the right places. The Bible is the foundation of truth and it requires the ultimate amount of attention if any community plans to be successful for any length of time. The education of modern society on what the Bible says about gender roles is necessary to achieve mutual understanding of beliefs. The Bible is full of statements and teachings on the topic of gender. Unfortunately, these are often ignored in the home. For example, the different roles of mothers and fathers. The Bible claims that mothers are called to be involved in the teaching, nurturing, and mentorship of their children. According to Proverbs 13:24, fathers are also called to discipline their children, to teach them, and to mentor them. Parents roles are very similar according to the Bible with the caveat that fathers are called to be the disciplinarians and leaders of the household. Another example of the differences between genders according to the Bible is that of a Godly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Theme Of Mr Know All As humans who want to avoid looking bad at all costs, it is difficult to swallow one s pride. We admire people who manage to overcome this, and do the right thing. Upon first glance, we may not be able to distinguish which type of people have this trait; however, this trait is necessary to maintain and create positive relationships with others and can have huge effects in the future. In Mr. Know All , the narrator s view of Mr. Kelada changed from one of immense vexation at the start to one of great appreciation by the end of the story because of his actions. At the beginning of the story, the narrator is prejudiced against Mr. Kelada before he has even met him. For instance, when looking at his luggage, the narrator stated with disgust that, the wardrobe trunk was too big. The narrator seems to despise how Mr. Kelada packed his belongings since a normal sized wardrobe trunk is already quite large enough to begin with. Mr. Kelada s lack of properness and his lack of containment of himself and the trunk annoyed the narrator as a typical Englishman during this time period would not have packed so many things for just a fourteen day voyage. In addition, later in the paragraph, the narrator notices Mr. Kelada s toiletries and suggests, [they] would have all the better for a scrub, and then immediately says, I did not at all like Mr. Kelada. At first sight of his belongings, he already has a strong opinion on someone solely based on the cleanliness of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will consider the recent events of their split from the European Union. There are so many countries in the world have been struggling because of a recession in their country s economies and United Kingdom hasn t been an exception. A recession is a macroeconomic term that explains one of the two different business cycles that economies face and go through. The business cycles are characterized by either a thriving trend where there are more business happenings supported with a rapid economic increase and parts of a recession where there is obstruction of the economic development. There are many different features and aspects that contribute to economic progress, which is measured through the gross domestic product. This factor will include reserves, investments government spending and other factors within either an upsurge or a reduction. A reduction in spending might lead to a recession while an upsurge in spending could lead to expansion. Taxpayers who want to be home owners, now since ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Table 2 of the descriptive statistics shows a summary of the variables that were taken from the financial statements and the annual reports of sampled firms on the Tunisian Stock Exchange. Based on the table mean percentage of dividend policy was 0.630 which represents almost 63%. This results in the fact that all the selected firm under consideration for the period of ten year (2006 2015) had been a 42% decision to pay dividend to shareholder. The profitability variable, Return on Equity (ROE) showed an average of 4 %. This percentage measured the involvement of net income per cedi (local currency) which is invested by the firms‟ shareholders; a measure of the efficiency of the owners‟ invested capital. So, we cannot establish a relationship between dividend policy and ownership duality; hypothesis H2, in this case, is not validated. Concerning foreign ownership, the results indicate a positive and significant relationship between the level of the presence of foreign shareholders and the level of dividend distribution. The relationship between the two variables is significant at the 5% level. In other words, the more the level of foreign ownership increases, the more the level of distribution of dividends increases. Consequently, Hypothesis H3 is supported. This result is consistent with Cook and Jeon [19] that also found a positive relationship. This concludes that foreign investors worried about their investments seek to reduce the agency costs by reclaiming a high level of dividends. Finally, the Fischer test indicates significant results. In addition, the R2 of 44% shows the power of the model. 1.Conclusion and discussion The objective of this study is to investigate the existence of relationships between the structure of ownership and dividend policy in an emerging market. To reach this end, we studied a sample of non financial companies listed on the Tunisia stock exchange between 2006 and 2015. We used a fixed effects regression model permitting to explain the ... The Pros And Cons Of Vgo Robots Many students struggling with cancer or other terminal illnesses can t reasonably make it to class every day, but they shouldn t have to miss out on the lessons and social interactions that come with school. VGo robots can solve this problem by helping students attend class from afar. The VGo isn t currently accessible to every family with a sick child, as models go for about $6,000, but for those that can afford them they allow students to continue with the normal activities of everyday life in spite of their illness even if through a not so normal means. Dworkinian s try to limit the indeterminacy by accounting for principles and would say that the rule that stands is the rule that fits the settled law of the soundest theory. Realists counterargue that while there may be legal determinacy when applying rule to small aspects of the law, the law in general needs to be cohesive in order to create what Dworkin calls, the Soundest Theory of Law. In this case, it is not clear as to what the soundest theory is, should the government decide because they make the broadest rule of the land, or do we let the prison itself decide since they routinely deal with strip search regulations and policies and would have a deeper understanding of what the law should be. In humans, plague occurs in three forms: bubonic plague, pneumonic plague, and septicemic plague. The best known form is the bubonic plague and it is named after buboes, or enlarged, inflamed lymph nodes, which are characteristics of the plague in the groin or neck or armpit. By what principles do people make decisions? What drives us? Where do emotions come from? Are there such things as unconscious motives and thoughts or are those ideas nothing more than the clever and profitable figment of psychologists imagination? However, the main question I struggled with is who we are and how we operate? Counseling is seen as a very solution focused approach. The temptation to rush quickly to the end of the mystery novel must be resisted. The detective s clever conclusions cannot be fully appreciated without first understanding the complexities of the tangle he unravels. The same principle applies here: an adequate appreciation of solutions depends on an adequate understanding of people and their problems. The Christian community and secular communities are overrun with ideas about wholeness and growth. The solution of Calvary, for example, is only valued too the degree that the problem of sin is grasped. If we skip the hard and sometimes tedious work of figuring out who we are and why we struggle so much, then our efforts as counselors to help others will be shallow and, in the long run, unhelpful. During the Gempei War, Yoritomo offered these positions to military lords across eastern Japan. With this strategy, Yoritomo was able to amass a force that outnumbered that of the Taira. In an interview with police Cowan stated I never got to molest him or anything like that. He panicked and I panicked and grabbed him around the throat and before I knew it he was dead. Daniel is one of many innocent and trusting children who have fallen victim to these vicious repeat offenders. Outside of the family, the first people thought to be responsible when a child is murdered, raped or abducted tend to be sex offenders in the area, so why must a child endure such a heinous act before this information is revealed to the public? The novel has the theme that when people separate into groups and cultures, they have a hard time understanding the opposite and tend to judge. But those who accept, benefit greatly. The Author used an extravagant amount of literary devices that have to do with the theme of accepting difference. The hyperbole A frenzied group of crazed topsiders, (page 47) is an example. It s a great example of the theme because it shows the opinion and viewpoint the downsiders have of the topsiders. Through reading the quote you can get a sense that the downsiders want nothing to do with the topsiders and that they think the topsiders run around pointless and don t get anywhere. The quote also has some connotation in it, with the way it says frenzied. It makes you... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A good will has a lot of definition like talents, courage, respects...etc. On the other hand, it can be very negative like disrespectful, harming or hurting people. As Kant said Understanding, wit, the power of judgment, and like talents of the mind, whatever they might be called, or courage, resoluteness, persistence in an intention, as qualities of temperament, are without doubt in some respects good and to be wished for; but they can also become extremely evil and harmful, if the will that is to make use of these gifts of nature, and whose peculiar constitution is therefore called character, is not good. Both of the situations are out of good will, a good purpose, so it should be considered as a good, moral duty. Human Papillomavirus Research Paper The role of Human papillomavirus (HPV) as a necessary cause of cervical and other genitoanal cancers has been established based on epidemiological and molecular research (1). HPV vaccines targeting high risk HPV types 16 and 18, and low risk types 6 and 11 have been demonstrated as protective against persistent infection, and hence carcinogenesis (2). Introduction Sexually transmitted infection with Human papillomavirus (HPV) is very common, with approximately 50% of sexually active women having at least one HPV infection in the first 5 years following the initiation of sexual activity (3). HPV infection is considered necessary, though not sufficient, in order to develop cervical cancer. Evidence shows that almost all cervical cancers contain HPV DNA, and that the attributable risk of infection for cervical cancer is higher than that of smoking and lung cancer (6). Despite HPV being most commonly associated with cervical cancer, the virus is capable of causing a number of cancers and benign lesions of the genitoanal region in both men and women (4, 5). There are over 100 different genotypes of HPV based on the gene coding for the L1 capsid protein, of which can be further classified into either high risk oncogenic types, or low risk types (1, 5) . The View and Interpretation of the Term Genre Discuss what we understand by the term genre and how it relates to the way we view and interpret films The way in which we, as an audience, view and interpret films can be seen to relate directly to our understanding of genre . However, what is genre? Drawing on the knowledge of key theorists and critics such as Steve Neale and Barry Langford this essay will first attempt to define genre and our understanding of it before focusing on how genre relates to the audiences view and interpretation of films. It will also touch upon the historical contexts of genre, and how genre helps the film industry create films and their interpretation of film. An interpretation that differs in a number of ways to that of an audience s due to their goals being different thanks to the ways they view film. Before we can begin to delve into how genre relates to the way we as an audience view and interpret films, we must first attempt to define and understand what the term genre means when relating it to the film industry, in particular Hollywood. Genre is a simple French word meaning type and therefore when taking this simple, direct approach we can see genre as a type of film or films such as a comedy , which has the association, in many cases, with humour. However, this approach generates large conflicting ideals within set genres . It provides the understanding that genre has fixed boundaries that cannot be pushed to allow for flexibility in a films direction. An example of this can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Human Nature: I have not given much thought as to identifying my Christian worldview on paper, and rarely have I given it much thought. To be a born again is to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ one must take a stand for the fundamental principles of the Gospel. Those principles include belief in Godas the creator of the universe and all that are on the earth and Jesus Christ as the Son of God who came to save the world from sin and redeem us back to God. The absolute truth that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived, died on the cross for all mankind for the sins both seen and unseen, and rose from the grave on the third day, who has now has ascended to heaven. He will return to take us back to the place that he has prepared for the bride to come and live with him in eternity. God the Father is the Absolute, Sovereign, eternal God who has no beginning and no end, who moves in and out of time to have interaction at his will with the children of men. The scripture is viewed as the infallible Word of God and they were written by men of old who were inspired by God. Therefore, the Christian worldview that I ascribe to are the ones that I have previously noted. Patterns of abuse from one parent to another, between both parents or directed toward a child all have a composite effect of inflicting potentially severe emotional damage upon the child. The research outlined here identifies domestic violence as a serious sociological problem and consequently provides a usable definition of domestic violence for the present study. This includes acknowledgement of the manner in which this exposure may damage the ability to formulate healthy social relationships later in life as well as a greater proclivity toward behavior problems, learning difficulties, substance abuse and a learned pattern of violent tendencies. • 43. Gender Relations During The Jacobean Period Deconstructing Gender Relations Gender in the Jacobean Period was approached differently than gender in the 18th century. One can use the Jacobean period play Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare and the 18th century play The Beaux Stratagem by George Farquhar to examine gender relations during the two periods. The plays demonstrate how women were represented in society and what societal expectations were at the time. The way women navigated their own sexuality, finances, and power relation s improved noticeably from the Jacobean Period to the 18th century. During the Jacobean Period women were not allowed to preform in theatres; all of the players were men and boys (Spear 13). Because of the violent nature of theatres women didn t attend plays as Groundlings and few could afford to sit above in the covered seats above. The theatre was a place for corruption and immorality and women were looked down upon during the Jacobean Period for attending performances in playhouses around London. The theatre was a harsh place where audience members were tightly packed in. They would hiss, shout, and throw rotten vegetables at actors they disliked or applaud and clap for those they approved of (Spear 14). Mental health of African Americanmale populations is poorly understood due to unique social, racial, and psychological variables. Although many black men deem success possible, a great number identify resistance to success in the form of prejudice, discrimination, and minimal opportunities in comparison with their white counterpart. Due to this background, the researchers attempted to answer the seemingly dichotomous interaction between stress and mental health in this population. They hypothesized that goal striving stress would be inversely related to mental health and that striving related coping strategies, such as racial attribution and John Henryism, would moderate the relationship between goal striving stress and mental health (514) Furthermore, the researchers hypothesized interactions between goal striving stress and two coping resources racial attribution and John Henryism (514).
