Explain The Five Key Points Made By The Speaker
1)What are 5 key points made by the speaker? Write a short paragraph for each one The first key
point that the author made is that there is a lot of people in the world that are non informed
about what was going on in the world. He says that people tends to think that things are
becoming worst or didn t change which is not true. He said that there is a need to communicate
because the data of what happening in the world is well aware. He compares the life expectancy
and fertility rate of many countries since 1960. He found out that they is a lot of countries that
have improved in term of life expectancy. As example China and India has improved and are
moving toward better health care and small families like develop countries. He also compared
the income distribution in the world and found out that there wasn t a gap between rich and poor
anymore and that there were a lot of countries that were in the middle and had 24% of the
income. Looking at the graph, the actual distribution was mounded shaped while it used to be a
bump. He shows that it is dangerous to use average data because there is a lot of differences
between countries and that policy makers have to take that into consideration while designing the
laws for one region. He thinks that data should be used more often and that organization should be
will willing to release these information s and make it available to the rest of the world. 2)Read the

Essay On Dystopia In 1984

1984 research project
Dystopia is an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a
totalitarian or environmentally degraded one is other words dystopia can be described as opposite
of utopia, but all dystopian societies start with the dream of a perfect world so dystopia is utopia
gone wrong. The dystopian tradition in literature is a criticism of the time in which the author
lives. these novels are political statements, as was Orwell s 1984. When we read these book today
we can t help but notice similarities between Orwell s story and our reality in 2017. The world in

A drone is an unmanned aircraft, it is more formally known as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV),
it is a flying robot that can be remotely controlled. Citizens in LA met this decision with protests
arguing that drones can be used for unwarranted surveillance and some even fear that drones will
become weaponized and start patrolling the skies. Flying robots monitoring the skies is clear
example of dystopian future and may remind us of Orwell s 1984 but, advocates say that the
drones could help protect officers by monitoring armed suspects without putting their lives in
danger, it could also help find lost hikers, officials have also promised careful restrictions, for
example each flight will be approved by officer only for specific cases and

Gender Inequality Within Developing Countries And Provide...
Furthermore, the IOC and bodies belonging to the movement reserves about 20% of its decision
making positions for women and it funds women especially from developing countries and offer
assistance programs for athletes, managers and coaches (IOC Factsheet, 2014). The IOC has
developed both educational and training programs targeted at women in Sports to empower them to
take up leadership positions within the administrative structures in the NOCs and National Sports
Federations (IOCs Factsheet, 2014). Despite all these interventions and modifications, organised
sports still remains the institution that perpetuates gender inequality (McDonagh and Pappano
2008:247) and a platform where inequality prospers (Zoonen 1994:150). Messner (1989)... Show

In Wacquant s (2004:16) view, one needs to acquire a set of bodily and mental schemata and
also to construct the theory of practice to effectively participate in sports (Bourdieu, 1997).
Borrowing from this approach, I will seek to understand and describe my lived experience
through active participation in sports. In this regard, my research will follow the dictates of
Mauss, (1979) that, to attain a disposition to do sports as in the case of any other technique of
the body, the work done by the individual will be for practical collective reason (that underlines
accepted theories of social action). In societies where athletes excel, the benefit is not for only
the athlete but also the community as Brownell (1995:15) explains in training the body for China
. Developing his ideas further, Mauss (1979) posited that there are instances where a physio
psycho sociological congregation of series of action may be habitual or ancient in the life of the
individual and also in the history of the society. The idea of a habitual physio psycho sociological
comportment might help account for why women do not participate in sports to the same degree as
men the larger social habitus does not include a prominent role for women in sports participation.

What Is The Theme Of Conflict In Lord Of The Flies
The book Lord of the Flies was written after the author William Golding came back from second
world war. William golding used his experiences from the conflict of the war to write a book that
has conflict as the core message. This is shown by the direct war between civiliation and
savagary. It is also shown by the underline descriptions of the children being opposite to each
other. The first point in the book is the conflict between civilation and savagary. The conflict
between these two areas are shown by the using imagery of the two characters who represent
them. This is shown by the decription of both ralph and jack, the protaganist and the antagonist.
Ralph is shown within this book as The boy with fair hair , the fair mentioned in this quote
shows not only the colour of the boys hair but also has a double meaning for the boy s nature.
This shows that the boy is fair , kind, civilised. The colour of the boy s hair also can symbolised
that he is neutral or even kind because of the fair colour (i.e white/blond)is lacking darkness... Show

The main quotes that show the island are The shore was fleged with palm trees and The long
scar smashed into the jungle . These quotes present the island as both hell and paradise. This can
be seen by the imagary of the palm trees and the language used to describe the parts of the island
such as scar and how the smash into the island. Both these words are veery negative showing
that the island is much like hell but the children see it as paradise because there are no parents
that is why it is show in both ways. The book The Lord of the Flies has the message of confict to
the core. This in my opinion is used to give the user insight into a battlefield. I belive that the
writer has used children to make the point more absorable and more understandable from all walks
of life. The writer has used his expeeriences to give the conflict in this book meaning and

The Factor That Contributes The Success Of An Economy As A...
A factor that contributes immensely to the success of an economy as a whole is diversity. An
organization that can effectively unite individuals from different cultures and backgrounds can
expect healthy growth in the future. However, diversity can be considered to a much greater extent.
When analyzing any economy, one can observe that is formed by large firms, medium sized firms,
small firms, and firms that are barely getting on their feet. No matter the size or type of business,
they all significantly contribute to the overall well being of any economy. Furthermore, one type of
institution that forms a considerable facet of the diversity of economies are entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurship describes any institution that begins without the support of any higher
corporation or established business. Any individual can study how an entrepreneurworks and makes
decisions in an economicsclass or they can even major in entrepreneurship in some universities.
However, these educational institutions many times fail to inculcate in their students how these
types of business actually operate in the real world. With that in mind, a concise yet profound
analysis of a small business in Buckeye, Arizona will consider how an entrepreneur owned
business truly works. Twelve years ago, three brothers, Martin, Luis, and Ricardo Ortiz, opened

The Laramie Project Summary
The play The Laramie project by Moises Kaufman addresses the brutal murder of openly gay
teenager Matthew Shepard in a small town of Laramie, Wyoming in 1998. The chronological
structure of the play draws together interviews conducted after the event by Kaufman and fellow
members of the Tectonic TheatreProject. Additionally, Kaufman uses these journal entries to retell
and reconstruct what happened on the night of Matthew s assault, addressing the issue of gay hate
crime. The play itself was structured into three acts. The first act consists of several interviews
from townspeople, however builds intensity towards the end. The last scene brings the actors

I had worked hard to develop my skills and incorporate theatre techniques. For example, during
rehearsals, I struggled with realism within my acting. However, this immensely improved due to
rehearsal and other practitioners. In adding realism within my performance, my characters
became believable and authentic which the audience could then identify. During this production
I also improved my ability to multi role, which is extremely difficult to achieve. When
establishing character s, I ensured there was a strong difference between each of their traits. In
adapting my realism and multi rolling abilities the audience could see a strong change of
character. There are certain elements of my performance, which I would have liked to improve
on such as costume change. During a scene I had to undertake a quick costume change which I
was not prepared for. This was challenging, although I could have improved if I had more time to
rehearse my costume changes. I would have liked to add more movement within my scenes, this
would have given my characters more in depth personality traits. Finally, to improve my
performance I could have rehearsed my lines on a regular basis. In doing this would have released

Romantic Comedy Analysis
Romantic Comedies. We all know of at least one. Chances are we all have one that we could
watch over and over again. But, why? What makes romantic comedies so appealing? Why do so
many people like them? The Incredible Jessica James is a romantic comedy, that is also an adult
s coming of age movie, but not your typical one. A typical romcom plays love as an almost
insignificantly light hearted joke. While love is still joked about, it isn t quite as light hearted in
The Incredible Jessica James. When people think of a rom com we typically think of one like:
Sleepless in Seattle, You ve Got Mail, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, 10 Things I Hate About You
,
or Pretty in Pink. The Incredible Jessica James doesn t match up to those movies in a couple of
ways. The Incredible Jessica James doesn t completely shy around the politics of today s society,
it starts off light but gradually becomes a little more serious, shows the struggles of dating when
two people start out not completely over their exes, and is even relatable to some people whose
parents have had a rough divorced. Jessica Jones was made to be relatable more than the idealistic
romantic comedywhere they always end up together. Politics; it is everywhere so why shouldn t
we expect it in our movies? Jessica James is passionate about three things in this movie: her
opinions (politics), theater, and honesty. Her political views are showcased in one particular scene:
her sister s baby shower. Her gift while thoughtful is

Mental and Social Disorder Essay
One in every seventeen people in America suffers from a mental disorder. These disorders inhibit
the afflicted person from functioning properly and coping normally with daily life. Many afflicted
with a psychological disorder do not exhibit obvious symptoms, as medical advancements have
made it possible for these disorders to be suppressed or even nonexistent. Today, however, harsh
stigmas exist that unfairly categorize those with a mental illnessas violent, unfriendly, and abnormal.
The media and federal government are culprits in fabricating the unrealistic depictions of mental
disabilitythat define the portrayal of those who are mentally or psychologically disadvantaged.

News broadcasts and reports are equally culpable in their portrayal of mentally challenged
individuals. In the fight to gain an interested audience, reporters sell stories instead of simply telling
them. As a result, mental illness is overemphasized to elicit a stronger reaction from the audience.
A good story catches public attention either by focusing on conflict and controversy or by raising
issues of public safety all perspectives that may place journalists in direct conflict with mental health
advocates. News media, particularly newspapers, are among the most frequently identified sources
of mental health information. This gives them great scope to dispel inaccurate and stigmatizing
stereotypes perpetuated in the entertainment media or to reinforce and amplify them. Results show
that news representations of mental illness [...] are largely inaccurate and negative. Reporters
emphasize the violent, delusional and irrational behavior of people with a mental illness, and often
sensationalise headlines or story content in order to attract attention .
What makes this type of stigmatization so dangerous is that the news is generally accepted as
factually based, when, in reality, a disproportionate amount of broadcasting and newspaper articles
are not; they paint the mentally disabled as overtly violent

†The Metamorphosis’ and †A Hunger Artist’
There are many parallels and differences between Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis and A Hunger
Artist . Kafka portrays these differences and similarities very effectively through his utilization of
elements such as transformation, dehumanization, and dedication to work. Through his works,
Kafka communicates with the reader in such a way that almost provokes and challenges one s
imagination and creativity.
Kafka is known for his highly symbolic and oblique style of writing. It is no surprise that several of
his pieces contain the same major themes, just in different settings. The fact that he repeats his
styles only makes the message that he is trying to convey much stronger. In both The
Metamorphosis and A Hunger Artist , the main... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In A Hunger Artist, the main character s lack of fulfillment causes him despair. He reacts to this
disparity by starving himself, almost as if showing resistance to the outside world. He views
himself as separate from everyone else, thus confining himself in a cage (Bedford 636).
Another evident similarity between the two works is the treatment of the characters. Both Gregor
and the hunger artist are treated inhumanely. This is clear in The Metamorphosis when Greta
begins to think of Gregor as an it (Metamorphosis 51). Although Gregor has transformed
physically, he is still human inside. Everyone around him fails to see that though, and only regard
him by what they see, which is a bug. Likewise, the hunger artist is not treated as a human being
either. The hunger artist is infatuated with being the best faster in Europe. This obsession deprives
him from forming any social or long lasting relationships. His alienation eventually accounts for his
demise, along with the fact that he is constantly misunderstood. The people who come to see him,
as well as the people who guard him, do not understand that he is not fasting for amusement.
Fasting beyond the forty day limit is important to the hunger artist, but no one can comprehend
why, which creates a barrier between the hunger artist and the outside world. Because of this
barrier, people treat him as if he is just another animal in a cage. When he joins

the role she is playing. She originally rears from Georgia and her accent makes her the

Mayan Social Status
As far back as society goes, people have been placed in different social categories. Regardless of
what standing a person has in society, their status will affect their lives on a daily basis and on a
larger scale. It is clear that social status is an ever present and universal social determinate, since
differences between classes are as apparent in ancient civilizations as they are in contemporary
society. Evidence of status in ancient communities, such as the Maya, has been preserved for
centuries and is still detectable through the study of archaeology. The Mayans were people with a
culture deeply rooted in living within a stratified society, where the gap between the elite and the
poor was prominent both in life and death (Somerville et... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only does the presence of the vessel indicate some degree of wealth, but often they are
decorated and adorned with depictions of life in the Maya elite court (Jackson 2009:71). These
paintings provide iconographic evidence of social hierarchy through their interpretations of the
court through scenes and text (Jackson 2009:71). Due to the relatively small size of the vessels,
they are more readily available than large material aspects of culture, such as temples. As such, a
greater number of them exist for archaeologists to examine in terms of how they illustrate status
(Jackson 2009:72). The vessels, such as pots and containers, are often embellished with
elaborate drawings of what archaeologists believe to be an idealized concept of Maya court,
rather than actual day to day court activity (Jackson 2009:73). The depiction of idealism on the
vessels reveals trends of the values that were important in their eyes. It is clear from the paintings
on the vessels that status was a prominent aspect of Mayan life. Rulers were often shown
surrounded by others, and placed physically higher on the vessel to signify importance (Jackson
2009:74). Other subtle indications of status on the vessels became very clear as well: more
important figures were placed to the right of the authority figure, a gaze from one figure to another
signified a relationship of some kind (usually kinship), courtly figures would

Problems Associated With Educational Video Games Into...
In order for the United States to increase their worldwide K 12 educational efficiency ranking and
avoid improper usage of such technological resources, school districts must perform a slow
implementation of technological devices and their associated educational video games into their K
12 curriculum. Many of the problems associated with the LAUSD iPad Initiative could have been
avoided if the schooldistrict tested the use of iPads on a few selected schools as oppose to
immediately implementing the devices into every school in the district. Through the slow
integration solution, faculty and program designers could have modified the problems
associated with the devices and discover what areas the devices prove to be most useful. Once
the problems have been resolved, the program could have been expanded to other schools
deemed ready for the rollout of the iPads or other device if the iPad was deemed insufficient.
Also, slow integration would be more cost effective as the program would not require 1.3 billion
dollars as a starter cost for the program. However, many critics would point out that a process of
slow integration would take a large amount of time and resources before any proof of educational
increases within individual school districts, barring the question: how do educators implement these
technological resources into their K 12 curriculum. To combat these critics, Min Liu, professor and
program area coordinator in subjects pertaining to technology

How do we convince existing NFL fans to switch allegiance to a new London based team? I don
t think you can accomplish this with the time zone and the deep roots fans have for their home

NFL season is 16 games long over a 17 week period. That s eight games at Wembley, and it s not
only the fans that would have to put in the mileage, it s the players too. Now, London is some
distance from the US: 3,459 miles. While travelling from America s East Coast would provide
minimal problems, travelling from the West Coast back to England would take two days out of
an already hectic week. This would definitely create a competitive disadvantage for a team that
had to travel from the west coast for this game. Lastly, there is the issue having no team that
would make this move at this time. The closes team in the thought process would be the

Title: Buffering Capacity of Common Antacids including Tums, Generic Tums and Generic Alka
Seltzer.
Introduction: This experiment is going to test the ability of antacids and how they absorb acid to
see which is a better buffer. An antacid neutralizes acid, and this helps the most with heartburn.
Heartburn is where stomach acid is regurgitated back into the esophagus, and this causes a
burning feeling in the chest (Oxford University Press, 2017). A buffer is a source of hydroxide
ions that can absorb hydrogen ions, which in turn keeps the pH stable (Mader, 2017). In this
experiment, the different antacids that are being tested to absorb the hydrogen ions from stomach
acid are the buffers. The pH scale helps determine how acidic or basic a solution ... Show more

using the phrase more spiritual than religious these days, causing us to ponder what they really
mean when they label themselves this way. It has been our experience that there really is a soul
deepening difference between spiritual and religious a difference we have termed spiritual
emergence versus religious emergency. Spiritual emergence is a gradual unfoldment of spiritual
expression that causes a minimal disturbance in our everyday functioning because we are
somewhat prepared for it, given our disposition for the mystical. On the other hand, there are those
who experience what we call religious emergencies, which can cause significant disruptions in their
everyday living, because these folks are usually unprepared for mystical experiences since they
consider themselves to be more religious than spiritual. Emergent spiritual experiences like visions,

The Process of an Internal Combustion Engine

Process Essay
Process of a 4 stroke Internal Combustion Engine
A common phrase that is heard whilst growing up is curiosity killed the cat . This phrase might
be true but; ingenuity brought the cat back . Having a mindset in which giving up is never an
option has plagued most inventors of the modern day, especially a high school drop out named
Nikolaus August Otto, born in 1832. Otto was responsible for the development and improvement
of the 4 stroke motor that is used today in just about every automobile on the road. Many people
drive cars but fail to realize how they work, and don t try to learn about engines because they think
it is complex, and not an easy concept to grasp. Air, fuel, spark, and... Show more content on

All of this pressure against the piston forces it down in the cylinder. The power impulse is
transmitted down through the piston, through the piston rod (connecting rod), and to the crankshaft.
The crankshaft is rotated due to the force.
В•As the piston reaches the bottom of its travel, the exhaust valve opens. Now, as the piston moves
up on the exhaust stroke, it forces the burned gases out of the cylinder through the exhaust port.
When the piston reaches the top of its travel, the exhaust valve closes, and the intake valve opens.
The cycle repeats again with the intake stroke. The four strokes are continuously repeated during
the operation of the engine

The Republicans have used the voting rights laws to create gerrymandered bleached white districts

minorities will not generally vote for white democrats if a black is running. Hence the complete
control of both houses of the legislature by the radical Republicans. That is why you don t see

In addition, in statewide elections the vote s falls about 50 50 between Democrats and Republicans

Wireless sensor networks are very important in everyday life. This new technology is exciting with
unlimited potential for numerous application areas including environmental, medical, military,
transportation, entertainment, emergency management and homeland defence. WSN are connected

An extension of this approach is in network aggregation which aggregates data progressively as
it is passed through a network. In network data aggregation can reduce the data packet size, the
number of data transmissions and the number of nodes involved in gathering data from a WSN.
Therefore, in the field of WSNs, privacy preserving data aggregation is becoming a hot issue in
WSNs. To address this issue, some protocols have been proposed. In this, they provide a
comprehensive summary and comparison of the existing privacy preserving data aggregation
protocols for WSNs. WSN is related to privacy preserving data aggregation protocols (Ping et al
2012). In the authors reviewed privacy preserving techniques for protecting two types of private
information: data oriented and context oriented privacy. First, authors focuses only on data
privacy in order to provide detailed overviews of the existing privacy preserving data aggregation
protocols for WSNs (Ping et al 2012). Two main security challenges in secure data aggregation are
confidentiality and integrity of data (Sugandhi et al 2013). While traditionally encryption is used to
provide end to end confidentiality in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the aggregators in a secure
data aggregation scenario need to decrypt the encrypted data to perform aggregation. Thus, while
data aggregation improves energy efficiency of a network, it complicates the existing

4.Explain the relationship between performance management and value creation. is a process by
which managers and employees work together to plan, monitor and review an employee s work
objectives and overall contribution to the organization. Value creation is the primary aim of any
business entity. Creating value for customers helps sell products and services, while creating value
for shareholders. The two tie together because the company wants to improve on their internal
processes and that includes having products or services that customers will buy and use and that is
the ultimate goal of an organization to create streaming revenues.

Data Gathering Essay
Research is a vital tool for education. It is research that gives us the ability to accurately observe
broad pools of student, respond to data, and thus become better educators. Without research, we
wouldn t be able to have great standard curriculums. But as I learned in this section, research is
complicated, detailed, and often labor intensive.
There are many ways to gather information. Each of the many data gathering techniques has their
own pros and cons. Understanding the many different types of data gathering is important, as it
keeps us flexible and ready to enact effectively upon any situation. These types of data gathering
techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and surveys.
Although interviews are not always economic and possible to conduct on broad numbers of
students, they are probably my favorite type of data gathering technique because they are personal
and therefore much more likely to be accurate. The process of interviewing involves an interviewer
sitting down with an interviewee to ask questions. The questions and responses can be more
complicated than those of other techniques such as tests or questionnaires. This is due to the ability
of the interviewee to answer in more complicated terms due to the barrier of transmission being so
low. It only takes talking for the interviewee to communicate the info. This is opposed to the writing
of the questionnaire or the way a student is restricted to only a few number of responses on a test.

Banks Are Caterers For The Economy Of A Country
Banks are caterers for the economy in a Country. From the start ofbanking two thousand years ago

by catering the financial requirement of trade and industry in the country. By encouraging thrift
among the people, commercial banks have fastened the process of capital formation. Banks draw
the community savings into the organized sector which can then be allotted among the different

Gene regulation plays important roles in retinal development and function. So far, studies on gene
regulation in the retina mostly focus on the transcription level, although post transcriptional
mechanisms may also be critical. Little is now how post transcriptional regulation of gene
expression is involved in the development and maintenance of the neural retina and retinal
diseases. In this project, we will address this issue by studying two related RNA binding proteins,
ZFP36l1 and ZFP36l2, two members of the TTP RNA binding protein family. This family of
proteins are highly conserved through evolution and are involved in diverse biological processes

We will also analyze the genetic pathways modulated by Zfp36l1and Zfp36l2, through RNA seq
expression profiling and proteomics analysis, and the molecular mechanism through which the two
proteins impact the relevant pathways.
Aim 1. To study the roles Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 play in retinal development. Making use the
floxed Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 alleles (Zfp36l1f and Zfp36l1f), we have generated single and double
retina specific knockout embryos by crossing them with the Six3 Cre. The mutant retinas,
particularly the DKO ones, displayed increased differentiation and decreased proliferation. We will
confirm these results by crossing with another retina specific Cre line, Chx10 Cre. We will further
characterize the defects in the different aspects of retinal development, including cell
differentiation, cell proliferation, and apoptosis, in these knock out embryos at different stages. We
will also examine how the Notch pathway, which plays essential roles in balancing proliferation and
differentiation in retinal development, is affected in the mutant retinas by in situ hybridization and
in vitro luciferase reporter assays.
Aim 3. To investigate the mechanisms by which Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 function retinal development.
To understand the genetic mechanisms underlying the function of Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 in retina
development, we will perform RNA seq analysis to identify the

In 1905, Mr. H Piper filed a patent for a gasoline engine electric motor powertrain. According to
him, the electric motor would augment a gasoline engine, allowing a vehicle to accelerate from
zero to 25 miles an hour in 10 seconds, much faster than the gasoline engines of that time.
Ironically, when finally Mr.H Piper was granted the patent a few years later, normal engines were
capable of producing the same kind of acceleration.
Due to rapid advancements in the gasoline engine, the popularity of a hybrid car slowly
diminished untill again in the early to mid 1970s, the time of oil crisis. Many companies poured
funds to build experimental Hybrid Electric Vehicles. But as the oil became available again, the
surge for HEVs died down immediately.

Mating between prairie voles is a tremendous 24 hour effort. After this, they bond for life. They
prefer to spend time with each other, groom each other for hours on end and nest together. They
avoid meeting other potential mates. The male becomes an aggressive guard of the female. And
when their pups are born, they become affectionate and attentive parents. However, another vole, a
close relative called the montane vole, has no interest in partnership beyond one night stand sex.
What is intriguing is that these vast differences in behaviour are the result of a mere handful of
genes. The two vole species are more than 99% alike, genetically.
Why do voles fall in love?
The details of what is going on the vole story, as it were is a fascinating one. When prairie voles
have sex, two hormones called oxytocin and vasopressin are released. If the release of these
hormones is blocked, prairie voles sex becomes a fleeting affair, like that normally enjoyed by
their rakish montane cousins. Conversely, if prairie voles are given an injection of the hormones,
but prevented from having sex, they will still form a preference for their chosen partner. In other
words, researchers can make prairie voles fall in love or whatever the vole equivalent of this is
with an injection.
A clue to what is happening and how these results might bear on the human condition was found
when this magic juice was given to the montane vole: it made no difference. It

Analysis Of Why Millennials CanT Grow Up
The Millennial Generation is earning 20 percent less than the Generation X and the Baby Boomers.
Psychotherapist at NYU (according to the university s website), Brooke Donatone argues in her
article, Why Millennials Can t Grow Up that millennials experience extended adolescence that
delays adulthood (Donatone 1). The author believes that the reasons for that happening are parents
by their helicopter parenting and the economy because there are less high paying jobs that allow
millennials to be financially independent. Throughout the article, Donatone explains that there is
evidence on how it is not millennials fault that they are experiencing delayed adulthood. Therefore,
it is safe to assume that her intended audience are the parents... Show more content on

His article also contrasts Donatone s second flaw of unprofessional tone because he
continuously stays professional and mindful of his audience that comes from world of business
professionals. Donatone proposes that the reason for millennials struggles with adulthood, like
working, dealing with people or even doing laundry is caused by helicopter parenting; however,
she uses Amy, a girl that comes from a family with moderate wealth, to wrongly generalize that
all millennials come from similar background. It is especially inappropriate and unfair to
generalize about this topic because she talks about such a big and diverse group that is
millennial generation, and not everyone comes from the same background. Donatone shows that
Amy comes from middle class family when she says She finally had to dump the part time job,
was still unable to do laundry, and often stayed up until 2 a.m. to complete her homework because
she didn t know how to manage her time without her parents ... (Donatone 1). In order for
someone to be able to drop their job they need someone that can help with their financial needs and
wants, therefore it is safe to assume that Amy comes from a family with moderate wealth that is
able to support those needs and wants. The author s moment when she generalizes that all
millennials are like Amy and come from similar background is when she states It s easy to

Consumer Discrimination And Sexual Orientation Based...
Earlier this year, the concepts of consumer discrimination and sexual orientation based
discrimination have come to a forefront in American politics and should be dealt with through
federal legislation (Payne, 2015). Two arguments which can be used to argue on the side of
discrimination are the First Amendment used in tandem with corporate personhood and the First
Amendment used on its own. I argue, however, that corporate personhood is not a legitimate
argument nor is the First Amendment grounds for an individual to discriminate against another.
Another defense of discrimination against consumers is the first section of the Thirteenth
Amendment. The elimination and prevention of the entirety of such discrimination could be
carried out through enacting a single two part law. Two defenses of discrimination include a
combination of the First Amendment with each current precedent regarding corporations and of its
own accord. Current precedent is the concept of corporate personhood wherein a corporation is
treated as a person albeit with controversy regarding their treatment (Ripken, 2010). When this
precedent is used in tandem with the provision that the free exercise of religion shall not be
prohibited in the First Amendment, this makes a case that the government may not prohibit a
corporation from exercising a religion (U.S. Const. amend. XIX). The other possible argument
regarding the First Amendment is the individual s right to exercise their religion. Each of these

The Discovery Of The Logarithm
The Contributors of Logarithms
The discovery of the logarithm is a great mathematics breakthrough made by John Napier and Joost
Burgi. These two mathematicians had different concepts of the logarithms and its present use
today. John Napier s logarithms were published in 1614, while six years later, in 1620, Burgi s
logarithms were published (A REVIEW OF LOGARITHMS 2016). Both Napier and Burgi invented
logarithms in order to simplify mathematical calculations. To reach their goals, they used two
different methods; Napier used the algebraic method and Burgi used the geometric method.
Although these two men had discovered logarithms, they did not have the concept of a logarithmic
base. The current definition defines a logarithm as the power ... Show more content on

Originally, the exponent notation was not used, but was a further developed method to explain
Burgi s concept. In conclusion, Burgi s discovery of relating geometric and arithmetic series is the
reason why he has a great contributor to the development of logarithms.
The other important contributor to the development of logarithms in 1614 was John Napier, a
Scottish mathematician. His incentive was to help in the multiplication of sine quantities. The
entire sine was the value of the side calculated of a right angle triangle with a large hypotenuse. In
participation with the English mathematician Henry Briggs, Napier transformed his logarithm into
its present day shape. The comparison of logarithms is between an L point moving consistently
minus infinity, and an X point moving from zero towards infinity at a speed proportional to its
distance from zero. Napier s discovery made a general relation between the arithmetic and
geometric series; i.e., multiplication and rising to a power of the values of the X point correspond
to addition and multiplication of the values of the L point, respectively (John Napier and
logarithms 2016). For instance, in order to limit the L and X motion, the requirement is that L=1 at
X=10, additionally to that condition that X=1 at L=0. The change had contributed to the logarithm
known as the Briggsian at that time (Logarithms: The Early History of a

Deforestation In Latin America Essay
Deforestation is defined as: the clearing of virgin forests, or intentional destruction or removal of
trees and other vegetation for agricultural, commercial, housing, or firewood use without replanting
and without allowing time for the forest to regenerate itself (SCRIBD). Deforestation has been a
problem in Latin America since the early 1900s and the severity of the dilemma is increasing
rapidly. Deforestationnot only has consequences for the environment, but also, the indigenous
people and the national economy. The logging industry in Latin America is often exploited by
multinational companies that are not properly regulated. The land that has provided a home and
cultivated indigenous development for centuries is being dissipated rapidly. Due to an
exponentially growing global population, there is an increased demand for low priced goods like
timber, crops, and meat. Many Latin American countries value revenue from selling these goods
over the health of their local ecosystems. The crisis of deforestation and habitat loss is shifting
from a local to global problem. As deforestation continues, global warming escalates worldwide,
impacting every country and person. About 15 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions come
from tropical deforestation, which is more than from all the world s cars, trucks and buses
combined (Schwartzman). Puerto Rico and Brazil provide contrasting examples of the impact of
deforestation. Puerto Rico had an economic and environmental shift

When a certain gene is known to cause a disease, it is referred as a single gene disorder or a

As a result, the protein the gene codes for is either altered or missing (Landsverk, 2013). Few
examples of single gene disorders includes cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, Fragile X
syndrome, muscular dystrophy, or Huntington disease. As a rule, single gene disorders are not
very common. For example, only one in 2,500 people are born with cystic fibrosis. There are a

they are. There are three main transmission patterns: autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, and

The Race And Racial Struggle Essay
Numerous scholars and historians believe that Hitler s ideas concerning race and racial struggle
have originated from the philosophies of Charles Darwin, either directly or through various
other sources. In today s context, the word racism means to dislike an individual or a group of
individuals based on the color of their skin. However, during the mid twentieth century, the word
racism meant to dislike a group of individuals because they were intellectually and/or morally
inferior. Thus, it becomes the responsibility of the superior race to take control of the inferior
race, or wipe them out completely in the case of Adolf Hitler. Hitler attempted to create and
protect the superior race from the inferior race by implementing administrative policies designed
to protect the former. This belief of superiority comes from Darwin s theory of survival of the
fittest which argued that there are significant inequalities within each species and that some
species get taken advantage of while others take advantage of others. //This evolutionary theory
could have been used as a justification for Hitler to do something he would have done anyhow, to
exterminate roughly six million Jews who, according to him, belonged to the inferior race . It is
fairly clear that Darwin did not mean for his work to be interpreted the way it did; however, it can
be argued that Hitler used this theory of progress through the elimination of the weak as a method
to rationalize his actions to his

Slice Of Life Shows Comparison
Going to school may be a chore for most students, but what if everything was not as it seemed for
a certain student? Both, at least start out as, slice of life shows. Slice of life is a popular genre
in Japanese animation where the story portrays parts of the character s life. It is a genre that is
never by itself and always goes along with other genres such as comedy, drama, or romance. Both
shows have some similarities and differences in the three categories of: types of characters, story
lines, and the format. Both of the shows have a main character that parallel each other. In Love,
Chunibyo Other Delusions, Rikka Takanashi is a delusional character who believes she is a
sorceress possessed by the Eye of the Wicked Lord and wears an eyepatch to seal its power . In
School Live!, Yuki Takeya has delusions of her own, as she believes everything is perfectly fine
and is unable to notice the zombie apocalypse going on around her the whole time. Their reasoning
for believing in their delusions is quite similar in a way, and in both shows, the other characters
tend go along with their delusions to keep them happy. While there are similarities in the characters,
differences obviously exist as well.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, both shows are in the slice of genre as said before. While Love, Chunibyo Other
Delusions is about the school life of a group of odd characters with some who believe themselves
to have powers, School Live! is about a character who believes herself to have a normal school life
despite the club activities being survival missions to gather more food or equipment to survive the
zombies. The other similarity is that both start out fairly slow as slice of life before getting into
the action or drama heavily near the end. The stories and setup for each show as a zombie or
comedy series influence the differences between each much as more characters are introduced or
backstories are

  • 2. Explain The Five Key Points Made By The Speaker 1)What are 5 key points made by the speaker? Write a short paragraph for each one The first key point that the author made is that there is a lot of people in the world that are non informed about what was going on in the world. He says that people tends to think that things are becoming worst or didn t change which is not true. He said that there is a need to communicate because the data of what happening in the world is well aware. He compares the life expectancy and fertility rate of many countries since 1960. He found out that they is a lot of countries that have improved in term of life expectancy. As example China and India has improved and are moving toward better health care and small families like develop countries. He also compared the income distribution in the world and found out that there wasn t a gap between rich and poor anymore and that there were a lot of countries that were in the middle and had 24% of the income. Looking at the graph, the actual distribution was mounded shaped while it used to be a bump. He shows that it is dangerous to use average data because there is a lot of differences between countries and that policy makers have to take that into consideration while designing the laws for one region. He thinks that data should be used more often and that organization should be will willing to release these information s and make it available to the rest of the world. 2)Read the power point posted on Canvas entitled Politics in the developing ... • 3. Essay On Dystopia In 1984 Svetlana Mukbanian Teacher: K.Davis College Comp. December 18, 2017 1984 research project Dystopia is an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one is other words dystopia can be described as opposite of utopia, but all dystopian societies start with the dream of a perfect world so dystopia is utopia gone wrong. The dystopian tradition in literature is a criticism of the time in which the author lives. these novels are political statements, as was Orwell s 1984. When we read these book today we can t help but notice similarities between Orwell s story and our reality in 2017. A drone is an unmanned aircraft, it is more formally known as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), it is a flying robot that can be remotely controlled. Citizens in LA met this decision with protests arguing that drones can be used for unwarranted surveillance and some even fear that drones will become weaponized and start patrolling the skies. Flying robots monitoring the skies is clear example of dystopian future and may remind us of Orwell s 1984 but, advocates say that the drones could help protect officers by monitoring armed suspects without putting their lives in danger, it could also help find lost hikers, officials have also promised careful restrictions, for example each flight will be approved by officer only for specific cases and ... Furthermore, the IOC and bodies belonging to the movement reserves about 20% of its decision making positions for women and it funds women especially from developing countries and offer assistance programs for athletes, managers and coaches (IOC Factsheet, 2014). The IOC has developed both educational and training programs targeted at women in Sports to empower them to take up leadership positions within the administrative structures in the NOCs and National Sports Federations (IOCs Factsheet, 2014). Despite all these interventions and modifications, organised sports still remains the institution that perpetuates gender inequality (McDonagh and Pappano 2008:247) and a platform where inequality prospers (Zoonen 1994:150). In Wacquant s (2004:16) view, one needs to acquire a set of bodily and mental schemata and also to construct the theory of practice to effectively participate in sports (Bourdieu, 1997). Borrowing from this approach, I will seek to understand and describe my lived experience through active participation in sports. In this regard, my research will follow the dictates of Mauss, (1979) that, to attain a disposition to do sports as in the case of any other technique of the body, the work done by the individual will be for practical collective reason (that underlines accepted theories of social action). In societies where athletes excel, the benefit is not for only the athlete but also the community as Brownell (1995:15) explains in training the body for China . Developing his ideas further, Mauss (1979) posited that there are instances where a physio psycho sociological congregation of series of action may be habitual or ancient in the life of the individual and also in the history of the society. The idea of a habitual physio psycho sociological comportment might help account for why women do not participate in sports to the same degree as men the larger social habitus does not include a prominent role for women in sports participation. • 5. What Is The Theme Of Conflict In Lord Of The Flies The book Lord of the Flies was written after the author William Golding came back from second world war. William golding used his experiences from the conflict of the war to write a book that has conflict as the core message. This is shown by the direct war between civiliation and savagary. It is also shown by the underline descriptions of the children being opposite to each other. The first point in the book is the conflict between civilation and savagary. The conflict between these two areas are shown by the using imagery of the two characters who represent them. This is shown by the decription of both ralph and jack, the protaganist and the antagonist. • 6. The Factor That Contributes The Success Of An Economy As A... A factor that contributes immensely to the success of an economy as a whole is diversity. An organization that can effectively unite individuals from different cultures and backgrounds can expect healthy growth in the future. However, diversity can be considered to a much greater extent. When analyzing any economy, one can observe that is formed by large firms, medium sized firms, small firms, and firms that are barely getting on their feet. No matter the size or type of business, they all significantly contribute to the overall well being of any economy. Furthermore, one type of institution that forms a considerable facet of the diversity of economies are entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship describes any institution that begins without the support of any higher corporation or established business. Any individual can study how an entrepreneurworks and makes decisions in an economicsclass or they can even major in entrepreneurship in some universities. However, these educational institutions many times fail to inculcate in their students how these types of business actually operate in the real world. With that in mind, a concise yet profound analysis of a small business in Buckeye, Arizona will consider how an entrepreneur owned business truly works. • 8. Romantic Comedy Analysis Romantic Comedies. We all know of at least one. Chances are we all have one that we could watch over and over again. But, why? What makes romantic comedies so appealing? Why do so many people like them? The Incredible Jessica James is a romantic comedy, that is also an adult s coming of age movie, but not your typical one. A typical romcom plays love as an almost insignificantly light hearted joke. While love is still joked about, it isn t quite as light hearted in The Incredible Jessica James. When people think of a rom com we typically think of one like: Sleepless in Seattle, You ve Got Mail, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, 10 Things I Hate About You , or Pretty in Pink. The Incredible Jessica James doesn t match up to those movies in a couple of ways. The Incredible Jessica James doesn t completely shy around the politics of today s society, it starts off light but gradually becomes a little more serious, shows the struggles of dating when two people start out not completely over their exes, and is even relatable to some people whose parents have had a rough divorced. Jessica Jones was made to be relatable more than the idealistic romantic comedywhere they always end up together. Politics; it is everywhere so why shouldn t we expect it in our movies? Today, however, harsh stigmas exist that unfairly categorize those with a mental illnessas violent, unfriendly, and abnormal. News broadcasts and reports are equally culpable in their portrayal of mentally challenged individuals. In the fight to gain an interested audience, reporters sell stories instead of simply telling them. As a result, mental illness is overemphasized to elicit a stronger reaction from the audience. A good story catches public attention either by focusing on conflict and controversy or by raising issues of public safety all perspectives that may place journalists in direct conflict with mental health advocates. News media, particularly newspapers, are among the most frequently identified sources of mental health information. This gives them great scope to dispel inaccurate and stigmatizing stereotypes perpetuated in the entertainment media or to reinforce and amplify them. Results show that news representations of mental illness [...] are largely inaccurate and negative. Reporters emphasize the violent, delusional and irrational behavior of people with a mental illness, and often sensationalise headlines or story content in order to attract attention . Kafka portrays these differences and similarities very effectively through his utilization of elements such as transformation, dehumanization, and dedication to work. Through his works, Kafka communicates with the reader in such a way that almost provokes and challenges one s imagination and creativity. Kafka is known for his highly symbolic and oblique style of writing. It is no surprise that several of his pieces contain the same major themes, just in different settings. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In A Hunger Artist, the main character s lack of fulfillment causes him despair. He reacts to this disparity by starving himself, almost as if showing resistance to the outside world. He views himself as separate from everyone else, thus confining himself in a cage (Bedford 636). Another evident similarity between the two works is the treatment of the characters. Both Gregor and the hunger artist are treated inhumanely. This is clear in The Metamorphosis when Greta begins to think of Gregor as an it (Metamorphosis 51). Although Gregor has transformed physically, he is still human inside. Everyone around him fails to see that though, and only regard him by what they see, which is a bug. Likewise, the hunger artist is not treated as a human being either. The hunger artist is infatuated with being the best faster in Europe. This obsession deprives him from forming any social or long lasting relationships. His alienation eventually accounts for his demise, along with the fact that he is constantly misunderstood. The people who come to see him, as well as the people who guard him, do not understand that he is not fasting for amusement. Fasting beyond the forty day limit is important to the hunger artist, but no one can comprehend why, which creates a barrier between the hunger artist and the outside world. Regardless of what standing a person has in society, their status will affect their lives on a daily basis and on a larger scale. It is clear that social status is an ever present and universal social determinate, since differences between classes are as apparent in ancient civilizations as they are in contemporary society. Evidence of status in ancient communities, such as the Maya, has been preserved for centuries and is still detectable through the study of archaeology. These paintings provide iconographic evidence of social hierarchy through their interpretations of the court through scenes and text (Jackson 2009:71). Due to the relatively small size of the vessels, they are more readily available than large material aspects of culture, such as temples. As such, a greater number of them exist for archaeologists to examine in terms of how they illustrate status (Jackson 2009:72). The vessels, such as pots and containers, are often embellished with elaborate drawings of what archaeologists believe to be an idealized concept of Maya court, rather than actual day to day court activity (Jackson 2009:73). The depiction of idealism on the vessels reveals trends of the values that were important in their eyes. It is clear from the paintings on the vessels that status was a prominent aspect of Mayan life. Rulers were often shown surrounded by others, and placed physically higher on the vessel to signify importance (Jackson 2009:74). In order for the United States to increase their worldwide K 12 educational efficiency ranking and avoid improper usage of such technological resources, school districts must perform a slow implementation of technological devices and their associated educational video games into their K 12 curriculum. Many of the problems associated with the LAUSD iPad Initiative could have been avoided if the schooldistrict tested the use of iPads on a few selected schools as oppose to immediately implementing the devices into every school in the district. Through the slow integration solution, faculty and program designers could have modified the problems associated with the devices and discover what areas the devices prove to be most useful. Once the problems have been resolved, the program could have been expanded to other schools deemed ready for the rollout of the iPads or other device if the iPad was deemed insufficient. Also, slow integration would be more cost effective as the program would not require 1.3 billion dollars as a starter cost for the program. However, many critics would point out that a process of slow integration would take a large amount of time and resources before any proof of educational increases within individual school districts, barring the question: how do educators implement these technological resources into their K 12 curriculum. Introduction: This experiment is going to test the ability of antacids and how they absorb acid to see which is a better buffer. An antacid neutralizes acid, and this helps the most with heartburn. Heartburn is where stomach acid is regurgitated back into the esophagus, and this causes a burning feeling in the chest (Oxford University Press, 2017). A buffer is a source of hydroxide ions that can absorb hydrogen ions, which in turn keeps the pH stable (Mader, 2017). Without research, we wouldn t be able to have great standard curriculums. But as I learned in this section, research is complicated, detailed, and often labor intensive. There are many ways to gather information. Each of the many data gathering techniques has their own pros and cons. Understanding the many different types of data gathering is important, as it keeps us flexible and ready to enact effectively upon any situation. These types of data gathering techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and surveys. Although interviews are not always economic and possible to conduct on broad numbers of students, they are probably my favorite type of data gathering technique because they are personal and therefore much more likely to be accurate. The process of interviewing involves an interviewer sitting down with an interviewee to ask questions. The questions and responses can be more complicated than those of other techniques such as tests or questionnaires. This is due to the ability of the interviewee to answer in more complicated terms due to the barrier of transmission being so low. It only takes talking for the interviewee to communicate the info. This is opposed to the writing of the questionnaire or the way a student is restricted to only a few number of responses on a test. Also, an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, a bolus compensates for uneven skin surfaces or irregular contours on the patient s surface. The depth of maximum equilibrium describes the depth in which the maximum dose of the formulated radiation deposited into the skin (Washington Leaver, 2010). Bolus material should be flexible, pliable, and tissue equivalent. There is no study that compares green Play Doh, orange Play Doh, water and uncooked rice to Superflab for providing maximum dose buildup, Dmax. Benoit, Pruitt, and Thrall (2009) assessed the quality of wet gauze compared to Superflab. Using different sizes and levels of wetness, and variable densities of the bolus material, the investigators measured each material three times using a 6 MV radiation source. The results were that a wet gauze with a density of 1.02 g/cm3 had the identical measurement to Superflab. While a smaller gauze with a density of .75 g/cm3 was not as efficient. So far, studies on gene regulation in the retina mostly focus on the transcription level, although post transcriptional mechanisms may also be critical. Little is now how post transcriptional regulation of gene expression is involved in the development and maintenance of the neural retina and retinal diseases. In this project, we will address this issue by studying two related RNA binding proteins, ZFP36l1 and ZFP36l2, two members of the TTP RNA binding protein family. This family of proteins are highly conserved through evolution and are involved in diverse biological processes thought regulating the stability of target mRNA species. Our preliminary ... However, another vole, a close relative called the montane vole, has no interest in partnership beyond one night stand sex. What is intriguing is that these vast differences in behaviour are the result of a mere handful of genes. The two vole species are more than 99% alike, genetically. Why do voles fall in love? • 36. Consumer Discrimination And Sexual Orientation Based... Earlier this year, the concepts of consumer discrimination and sexual orientation based discrimination have come to a forefront in American politics and should be dealt with through federal legislation (Payne, 2015). Two arguments which can be used to argue on the side of discrimination are the First Amendment used in tandem with corporate personhood and the First Amendment used on its own. I argue, however, that corporate personhood is not a legitimate argument nor is the First Amendment grounds for an individual to discriminate against another. Another defense of discrimination against consumers is the first section of the Thirteenth Amendment. The elimination and prevention of the entirety of such discrimination could be carried out through enacting a single two part law. Two defenses of discrimination include a combination of the First Amendment with each current precedent regarding corporations and of its own accord. Current precedent is the concept of corporate personhood wherein a corporation is treated as a person albeit with controversy regarding their treatment (Ripken, 2010). When this precedent is used in tandem with the provision that the free exercise of religion shall not be prohibited in the First Amendment, this makes a case that the government may not prohibit a corporation from exercising a religion (U.S. Const. amend. XIX). The other possible argument regarding the First Amendment is the individual s right to exercise their religion. Each of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These two mathematicians had different concepts of the logarithms and its present use today. John Napier s logarithms were published in 1614, while six years later, in 1620, Burgi s logarithms were published (A REVIEW OF LOGARITHMS 2016). Both Napier and Burgi invented logarithms in order to simplify mathematical calculations. To reach their goals, they used two different methods; Napier used the algebraic method and Burgi used the geometric method. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Originally, the exponent notation was not used, but was a further developed method to explain Burgi s concept. In conclusion, Burgi s discovery of relating geometric and arithmetic series is the reason why he has a great contributor to the development of logarithms. The other important contributor to the development of logarithms in 1614 was John Napier, a Scottish mathematician. His incentive was to help in the multiplication of sine quantities. The entire sine was the value of the side calculated of a right angle triangle with a large hypotenuse. In participation with the English mathematician Henry Briggs, Napier transformed his logarithm into its present day shape. The comparison of logarithms is between an L point moving consistently minus infinity, and an X point moving from zero towards infinity at a speed proportional to its distance from zero. Napier s discovery made a general relation between the arithmetic and geometric series; i.e., multiplication and rising to a power of the values of the X point correspond to addition and multiplication of the values of the L point, respectively (John Napier and logarithms 2016). For instance, in order to limit the L and X motion, the requirement is that L=1 at X=10, additionally to that condition that X=1 at L=0. Deforestation In Latin America Essay Deforestation is defined as: the clearing of virgin forests, or intentional destruction or removal of trees and other vegetation for agricultural, commercial, housing, or firewood use without replanting and without allowing time for the forest to regenerate itself (SCRIBD). Deforestation has been a problem in Latin America since the early 1900s and the severity of the dilemma is increasing rapidly. Deforestationnot only has consequences for the environment, but also, the indigenous people and the national economy. The logging industry in Latin America is often exploited by multinational companies that are not properly regulated. The land that has provided a home and cultivated indigenous development for centuries is being dissipated rapidly. Due to an exponentially growing global population, there is an increased demand for low priced goods like timber, crops, and meat. Many Latin American countries value revenue from selling these goods over the health of their local ecosystems. The crisis of deforestation and habitat loss is shifting from a local to global problem. As deforestation continues, global warming escalates worldwide, impacting every country and person. About 15 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions come from tropical deforestation, which is more than from all the world s cars, trucks and buses combined (Schwartzman). • 41. The Race And Racial Struggle Essay Numerous scholars and historians believe that Hitler s ideas concerning race and racial struggle have originated from the philosophies of Charles Darwin, either directly or through various other sources. In today s context, the word racism means to dislike an individual or a group of individuals based on the color of their skin. However, during the mid twentieth century, the word racism meant to dislike a group of individuals because they were intellectually and/or morally inferior. Thus, it becomes the responsibility of the superior race to take control of the inferior race, or wipe them out completely in the case of Adolf Hitler. Hitler attempted to create and protect the superior race from the inferior race by implementing administrative policies designed to protect the former. This belief of superiority comes from Darwin s theory of survival of the fittest which argued that there are significant inequalities within each species and that some species get taken advantage of while others take advantage of others. //This evolutionary theory could have been used as a justification for Hitler to do something he would have done anyhow, to exterminate roughly six million Jews who, according to him, belonged to the inferior race . It is fairly clear that Darwin did not mean for his work to be interpreted the way it did; however, it can be argued that Hitler used this theory of progress through the elimination of the weak as a method to rationalize his actions to his ...
