How Of A Lab Report
How to Write a Lab Report
The purpose of a lab report is to describe your lab experiment in such detail (including what was used,
when it took place, who was present, how the lab went, what happened, what results were found, and
the overall discussions and conclusions) that your described experiment or lab could be replicated by
someone of similar education and training who was not present. A lab report should be written as a
description of what you did, not instructions for doing the lab. Another goal (especially at this level) is
to thoroughly explain what you did and what you learned.
When writing a lab report, do not use personal pronouns such as we or I , and so on. For example,
write, The egg was placed in a container rather than I placed the egg in a container . The report should
be written in past tense. Your paragraphs should be one and a half spaced. Choose a professional font
and use a font size of 10, 11, or 12. ALL WRITING MUST BE YOUR OWN WORDS even if you
were working with other people!
A lab report contains the following components:
Title
The title should be concise (try for less than ten words) and should reflect the factual content or
purpose of the lab / paper. A good title is straightforward and uses keywords that researchers in a
particular field will recognize (such as pH Lab , or Virtual pH Lab ).
Introduction
The introduction of a lab report states the purpose of your experiment. Your hypothesis should be
included in the introduction, as well

Women, Law, and Equality Essay
In the past 3 decades, women made great advancements in the workforce. First, they have become an
integral part of the labour market; they have access to higher education and consequently to
traditionally male dominated professions such as medicine, law and business. While statistics show
that women are equal to men in terms of their numbers in the law profession, it is not clear however,
whether they have achieved equality in all other areas of their employment. In this paper, I will
examine women s experiences in the law profession; whether women are earning equal salary
compared to the male lawyers, do they still face barriers that are gender related and whether they have
broken the glass ceiling in a profession that is supposed to be ... Show more content on

66).
Women have demonstrated that they possess the academic capability to go through law school. For
example Clara Brett Martin, the first woman to become a lawyer , had essentially paved the way for
the following generations to be accepted into the law profession, however, many of the barriers that
she had to face are still in existence, starting with the male attitudes towards women lawyers to hiring
discriminatory practices in firms and general cultural attitudes towards the role of women lawyer.
Historically women have had to fight to get equal access to the profession and to the practice of law
however, as late as the 1970 women were refused partnerships within firm even after they have
demonstrated that they are capable of doing the job. For example, Judge Carolyn king who had
practiced corporate law for 10 years at one of the highly established firm, and according to her
account had a great experience and her career path proceeded exactly like the career paths of men, was
refused partnership simply because she was a woman. She was told later that the possibility of her
getting pregnant and taking parental leave was the main reason for being refused partnership (Jackson,
2006). While legislations have been put now to ensure that discrimination on the basis of sex is illegal,
researchers agree that systemic discrimination, which is largely unintentional still exist at all levels
and its impact touches on women s inability to reach high ranking positions

Goodfellas Essay
Goodfellas
(Goodfellas is the film adaptation of the non fiction book ?Wiseguy?, written by Nicholas Pileggi. The
film charts the rise and fall of Henry Hill?s thirty year career within the New York mafia. The film
was released in 1990 and was directed by Martin Scorsese. Goodfellas stars Ray Liotta as Henry Hill,
Lorraine Bracco as Karen Hill (Henry?s Wife), Robert Dc Niro as James Conway and Joe Pesci as
Tommy DeVito.
The film begins with one of the most horrific and sickening moments to appear in a film, the murder
of Billy Batts. At this point the viewer knows nothing of the background events that run up to this
scene. Additionally, the characters are not yet known, so there is no emotional baggage being carried
with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of the narration is to smooth over the various jumps in the story. Throughout the film sub
stories change quickly, narration is the device that covers the holes. Without narration the viewer
would become lost very quickly, and may not fully understand events. At the beginning of the film,
Henry is shown as a young boy looking out of his bedroom window admiring the lifestyle of the local
?Wiseguys?. Here follows a very quick succession of events that show how his character gets involved
with these people and what he does to earn more respect from them and eventually be accepted into
their group. The narration explains why he admires them so much, ?They did whatever they wanted?,
why he wants to part of their group and why he does what he does, ?It was about being somebody in a
neighbourhood of nobodies?.
Within the film there are four main characters; Henry Hill, Karen Hill, Tommy DeVito, and James
Conway. Henry and Karen are the only characters that are followed throughout the film. On the whole,
character development is kept to a minimum. For instance, many characters are introduced to the
viewer during a walkthrough steadicam shot of a bar. Most of these characters will be seen later on in
the film, but will only in the background of various scenes. The viewer may recognise these characters
but they still know no more about them. Even with the main characters there are large gaps in time and

Superego Of Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud, a renowned psychologist and psychoanalyst, is notably known for creating the idea of
the id, the ego and superego. These three concepts, according to Freud, make up the human psyche
and provide some insight and understanding into how the human mind works. These so called systems
in the brain are in no way physical but together, they make up a whole and contribute towards an
individual s behavior.
The id is described as the primitive component of one s personality as it consists of everything
biologically inherited at birth. This includes one s instincts and sexual desires. The id can be described
as being impulsive and contains all of the drives and hidden urges of an individual. Repressed
memories in the unconscious mind resides in the id. Freud believed that the id, ego and superego
developed at different stages in an individual s life. A newborn child is all id, as it does not have the
morals and social influences that come with the ego and superego. The ego, unlike the id, is partly
conscious and partly unconscious. It serves as the intermediary between the id and the superego as it
makes decisions based on reason, instead of unrealistically and logically (as the id would) or based on
morality and societal influences (as the superego would). The ego would create the realistic ways to
fulfill the id s demands that are impulsive and with little regard to any consequences. Defense
mechanisms exist within the ego due to the fact that it often faces anxiety

Themes Of Politics And Society In Persepolis By Marjane...
In the graphic novel Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, pivotal issues of politics, warfare, religion, family,
and femininity are vividly contented with through the humorous visual account of the main character s
process of hellacious coming of age, profound moral growth, and self actualization. Influenced by a
Westernized upbringing and inspired by her perceptions during the Islamic Revolution (1979) and the
Iran Iraq War (1980 1988), the author achieves to elaborate a piece of valuable art that explores and
appraises the voids and the connections between culturally different worlds. Although Satrapi s
masterpiece was published more than ten years ago, its themes and symbols retain paramount
applicability in contemporaneous society, providing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the graphic novel, the belief that the United States of America enhanced the Iran Iraq War justifies
Iran being ruled by religious fundamentalists and xenophobic of Westerners. The fact that the Reagan
Administration supported Saddam Hussein s attempt to annex Iranian territory with loans, military
equipment and satellite imagery led Iranian extremists to reinforce their mistrust in Western policies.
Ultimately, the lack of trust and confidence in Western intervention succumbed Iran into an
everlasting, extremist regime that insists in cultural ignorance, controls the media, promotes
misogyny, and employs death and fearmongering to influence the opinions and actions of a subdued
and continuously misunderstood population. Consequently, the instauration of such a radical
jurisdiction has further impact on the views of Middle Eastern culture and religion. As expressed by
Satrapi in her introduction to Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood, the wrongdoings of a few
extremists has caused this old and great civilization to be discussed mostly in connection with
fundamentalism, fanaticism, and terrorism , knowing, as in Iranian who has lived more than half her
life in Iran , that the projected image is far from the

Icek Ajzen Theory Of Planned Behavior
Theory of Planned Behavior Dana Hall
In today s society, we have a mental health crisis that affects everyone, especially the veteran
population. Mental health crisis range from one extreme to another being death, suicide or homicide.
A goal for health care providers is to prevent these types of those extremes from happening. The most
widely used social cognition model for predicting and explaining health behavior is the Theory of
Planned Behavior (Ogden, 2003).
Icek Ajzen s Theory of Planned Behavior was used as a framework to explain the relationship between
one s attitude and behavior and whether or not it can be predicted and or prevented. What the Theory
of Planned Behavior focuses on are three kinds of views, behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs and
control beliefs (Ajzens, 1971). Atzens suggests that behavioral beliefs focus on the likelihood of the
outcome of behavior and the evaluation and whether or not they have a positive or negative attitude
toward the behavior itself. Normative belief focuses on the expectations of others and the motivation
to comply with those said expectations and if it is viewed as a result of social pressure or subjective
norm (Ajzens, 1971). Control beliefs go on to focus on factors that may positively or negatively
influence performance of that behavior and the thought power of those factors and perceived
behavioral control. When you consider all of these three views, you develop behavioral intention
(1971). It is suggested

Old Age, Survivors And Disability Insurance
Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance (OASDI) or more commonly known as Social Security is
a federally funded program that gives money to workers after retirement, spouses and children of
deceased workers, and workers who become disabled before they retire. It is financed through a
payroll deduction tax (FICA); currently a combined 12.4% deduction from workers and their
employers (Tax Topics). It currently has a base wage limit or tax cap, the maximum wage that is
subject to the tax for a particular year, of $118,500 (Tax Topics). President Franklin Delano Roosevelt
signed the Social Security law in 1935, at which time thirty four other countries in Europe already had
some form of retirement plan in place.
Social Security ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1940s, the payroll taxes from approximately forty workers were supporting one beneficiary; by
2030, however, only two workers will be supporting each retiree (Saving). This decrease is caused by
a combination of a longer life expectancy, increased benefits, and a lower birth rate. Although it
benefits millions of Americans each year, there is now much discussion of reform because of the
decrease in the worker to retiree ratio. The National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI), in their guidebook
Making Ends Meet: How Should We Spread Prosperity and Improve Opportunity? makes a double
suggestion for Social Security tax reform: the tax could be raised from 6.2% to 7.2% for workers and
employers, which raises the overall payroll tax to 17.4%, and the base wage limit could be either
raised or abolished. They claim that these two suggestions combined will keep the Social Security
program funded for twenty years past the projected time frame, which is currently nineteen years
(Making Ends Meet, 12).
The Making Ends Meet guidebook is about recovering from the 2007 recession and touches on three
main topics: creating new opportunities, strengthening the safety net, and reducing the income gap.
The safety net section of the guidebook discusses the need to provide better programs to help
unemployed workers, as well as retirees and the disabled. The NIFI touches on Social Security
because Whatever...we do to make workers better able

Every year there are thousands of people who spend hours upon hours determining where they should
go on vacation. Everyone wants to find the perfect vacation place where they catch up on rest and

new city. The first vacation destination is the beach. The beach is a very popular destination for many
families and couples. With the salty air and the sounds of the ocean waves crashing on the sand can

Impact Of Computer In Medicine And Medicine
Computers and Medicine
Technology is vital to society in today s age and it affects almost every single thing that goes on in a
person s daily life. I believe technology has spread to nearly every field, even if it is a minor use of it.
Transportation, conversation, banking, and even working places have some sort of technology with it
now. But what is going to be discussed in this Wiki is the impact that technology and computers have
made with medicine and healthcare.
The creation of technology changed the way healthcare is being received, and even organized. The
introduction of electronic medical records, to finding cures that humans thought would not be
possible, healthcare has changed right in front of everyone s eyes. Let s discuss what exactly a
computer is and how technology is changing in the field of healthcare and medicine.
What is a computer?
According to dictionary.com, a computer is a programmable device that reads data, performs
calculations, and outputs the results of the data.
How are computers used by doctors to deal with medical efforts?
In today s age, computers help patients and the hospital communicate together for reasons, such as
booking appointments at home or in office, sending medical prescriptions to pharmacy, or just in
house communication between doctors and nurses. The introduction of electronic medical records has
allowed doctors and nurses to get rid of paper work and have all electronic documents for easier
access and storage. Many

Symbolism In Shrek
In the beginning of the movie Shrek, the damsel in distress, Fiona, is trapped in a tower guarded by a
fire breathing dragon waiting for the day where her prince would come. Instead of being saved by a
prince, she is surprised with an ogre and a donkey that came to her rescue. In the end, Fiona had a life
decision in front of her. She had to choose between Lord Farquaad, a selfish man who wanted to use
Fiona for her title, or Shrek, the ogre who came to her rescue. In order to break the curse, she had to
kiss her true love, and she chose Shrek because he genuinely loved her. Mary Wollstonecraft and
Virginia Woolf most likely would not have agreed with most of the ideals of this movie because it
portrays the female protagonist as a damsel

The Traditions Of Rituals By Nicholas B. Dawe Essay
The traditions of rituals is strongly examined by author Nicholas B. Dirks in Ritual and Resistance:
Subversion as a Social Fact, where he attempts to persuade readers of the drawbacks of ritual practices
through an anthropological point of view. Dirks explains to his readers of the fundamentals of rituals
as: brimming with resistance , opposed to [everyday] , along with the centrality of the subject of
power (Dirks 1994, 483 503). Continuing to state his supporting arguments through the article, Dirk s
concludes that too much of regular (daily) ritual practices creates a normalization in the ritual itself
(Dirks 1994, 483 503). Understanding the perspective of the creation of ordinarity of the practices,
one could argue that the repetition of a curtain act of a tradition can become a normality such as Dirks
states in his writings; however, if the act of tradition is not conducted daily, yet instead semi
annually/annually, there would not be a normality. Dirks presents his thesis as [focussing] on everyday
forms of resistance, critiquing both anthropological assumptions about ritual and historical reifications
of [the] assumptions (Dirks 1994, 483). Dirks finds the negative components of ritual practices, and
continually supports his facts through other scholars opinions as well, however in a separate article of
ritual subject matter, Niels Gutschow writes about the respecting aspects of ritual. In Ritual Chariots

Uncertainty Reduction Theory Paper
Engaging in new Cognitive uncertainty means uncertainty related to beliefs and attitudes of people.
Strangers are not aware of each other s beliefs and attitudes on initial interaction, so uncertainty is
high at this point. Experiences for the first time can be rather daunting. Especially when meeting
someone new and of higher social standing. The degree of separation between the two parties can
leave a sense of unease or uncertainty. Charles Berger and Richard Calabrese developed what came to
be known as Uncertainty Reduction Theory . This Theory can be stated as such, When strangers meet
they focus on their level of uncertainty because it is uncomfortable. People can be uncertain

Uncertainty as an affective condition is characterized by negative feeling of anxiety, frustration,
apprehension, and worry. (Brumfield, 2008). These feelings can easily be generated with someone
new because of the uncertainty about social beliefs, common interests, political values, etc. The
importance of a first impression sets the foundation for entering a new relationship with new co
workers. Due to the important nature of this stage it can be very stressful, not to mention that these
interactions are taking place with numerous people not a singular person. Learning new mannerisms
and behaviors for every individual is the main way to reduce the uncertainty. The more the
communication takes place the more barriers will come down and the quality of the conversations will
increase. During the entry phase mainly demographics are shared, which is just enough information to
get to know the new people in the workplace. Some of the demographics that will be shared are age,
social status, economic status and topics of that nature. Development of those conversations start the
personal phase, when opinions and beliefs begin to surface that indicates the steps into phase two.
People are naturally information seeking, which decreases as uncertainty about the other person
decreases (businesstopia.net, 2018). During this phase the conversations feel less forced and more
fluid, being able to share more personal information without the worry of upsetting the other person.
In a new workplace especially a new one it is important to establish personal relationships with people
that will be working within a proximity every day. Over time the need to share rapid amounts of
information will decrease and instead more qualitive information will be shared. Conversations will be
able to be upheld for longer durations of time and the content

Stroke Recovery
Did you know that Stroke is one of the leading health problems in America? A stroke is often called a
brain attack and it occurs when blood flow to a certain area of the brain is cut off. The brain cells are
deprived of the oxygen and glucose needed to survive, and then they die. If a stroke is not caught early
enough, permanent brain damage and sometimes even death can occur. Stroke is the leading cause of
long term disability in the United States, and many survivors experience either a weakening on their
left or right side of their body. This weakening can result in decreased mobility, a decrease in social
interaction and participation, and an increase in depression. Aerobic exercise has been shown to play a
key role in neuroplasticity and motor recovery after someone experiences a stroke. The objective of
the main article uses two different types of aerobic exercises and tries to understand how the exercises
affect motor recovery post stroke. The method behind the testing of my main article was very well

man s first winter and he isn t sure about survival in the wild. As the story goes on, the dog wants to

obviously did not get to. This proves the dog did not care for the man and wanted only food and

this theme is developed is when the dog did not want to cross the river. This is because the dog knew

respectively. Lennie s death is foreshadowed by the death of Candy s dog. Candy s dog was old and
therefore suffering. Carlson, one of the migrant workers shoots the dog, directly through the head.
After the death of his dog, Candy becomes extremely lonely. He regrets letting Carlson shoot his dog
and wished that he had done it himself. Just like the dog, Lennie is also shot through the back of the

his pocket. Lennie insists on an unlikely story, that the mice were already dead when he found them.
This shows the audience that although Lennie does not mean to kill the mice, it keeps recurring
because he is completely unaware of his own strength. Later on in the story, Lennie kills one of Slim s
puppies. He was warned to be gentle and keep the pup with its mother but didn t listen. These scenes
keep building and building until the climax of the novella, when Lennie breaks the neck of Curley s
wife and kills her. During the film The Green Mile there is frequent foreshadowing of the powers that
John Coffey possesses. The first sign of John s magic is at the start of the film, when he is seen
holding the bodies of the two dead girls and crying. Although the magic is not clear at the time, the
audience is able to look back upon that scene and realise that John was trying to heal the two girls, not
hurt them. When John first gets to the Green Mile, Paul has an extremely painful UTI. John is able to
take Paul s UTI onto himself and regurgitate it out in the form of flies. This is the first obvious sign of
his magic. Later on in the book, John uses slightly more magic when Percy steps on Mr. Jingles the

Advertisement Is Not A Recent Human Attempt
Advertisement is not a recent human attempt; it existed throughout the revolutions of humankind. In
ancient civilizations, stone carving, wall printing, and oral noticing were the most common form of
advertising. Egyptian Pharaohs used carved iron plates for public notices. Archaeologists in Thebes,
Egypt discovered a 3000 year old public advertisement that offered a reward for runaway slave. Old
Greeks employed wall paintings for theater play ads, and papyrus sheets to advertise lost and found
items. Romans in the first century A.D, used oral announcements to publicize the arrival of caravan
supplies. Also, according to archaeological discovery in Pompeii, Italy, Romans employed written ads
to promote property rentals (1). However, advertisement as a profitable industry did not start till the
influx of mass media like printing, radio, and television emerged. By the invention of big plasma cable
TVs equipped with child oriented programs, and the Internet, commercial ads that target children grew
ubiquitously unlimited. Though some advertisements can be supportive, fast food advertisements that
target children should be prohibited as they cause unhealthy habit to children and induce parent child
conflicts. Foremost fast food advertisers employ several strategies to influence children. First fast food
advertisers use cartoon images embodied with brand to make their product more attractive to children.
For example, McDonalds in 1990 run a commercial ad of Fry Kids (2) to

Unexpectedly Important Characters in House of the Spirits...
Isabel Allende in House of the Spirits portrayed many seemingly minor characters that ended up
having a greater role than expected. One of the unexpected characters was Alba. Despite the fact that
Alba was not born until chapter nine, she played a significant role in the plot of the story and character

Preventing Teenagers from Trouble
There have long been debates by parents and teenagers on whether or not there are benefits for
establishing a curfew. A curfew is a designated hour that requires people to remain indoors. Curfews
are typically set in place by parents for their teenagers to return home at a certain time at night. There
are a numerous amount of compelling arguments that support each side of the idea about curfews.
Although there are many arguments that can be made, there are a number of positive factors that lead
to the belief that curfews should be implemented in a household atmosphere. An important feature of a
teenager s curfew is family time. Spending time with family is essential for maintaining the
relationships within the household. During the school week, teens tend to carry busy schedules with
schoolwork and extracurricular activities. When the weekend approaches, teenagers prefer to spend as
much time with their friends as possible. When parents set a curfew for their teenagers, this enables
the option for families to spend time together. If teenagers are spending time with their families
instead of dealing with modern day temptations, the time restriction is keeping them out of trouble. If
teenagers are spending more time at home, this gives the parents the ability to monitor what activities
their children are participating in. Curfews set healthy guidelines that allow teenagers to have time
with their friends but also quality time with loved ones at home. Another positive reason

Why Is Multitasking Should Be Allowed In School
Hi my name is Tanika Munroe, I attend Piscataway High School. I am writing to you today
concerning the matter of students having to receive a B average or higher in order to participate in
clubs or sports. In my school I already see such a matter going on. If students don t maintain a certain
grade they are put on something called a sports leave or sports tutoring. This is so the players can get
their grade up so that they can continue to play on the team. I strongly believe that this is unfair
because for one it is hard for someone to get used to multitasking I can speak on this myself. You
might say its something one person can get used to but this is not true, not everyone can get used to
something like that. Secondly, there are kids who play sports that may have learning disabilities, there
should be exceptions for students like that. Lastly, academics do come first but, I believe that sports
and clubs are some of the reasons students look forward to coming to school. ... Show more content on

Multitasking in my words is when you have to joggle more than one task at the same time. When
students have to joggle a sport plus an education, it s not easy. To start off a sport is a big task itself. A
player has to worry about making sure to bring home a win and, bettering their skills. Even to some
parents a sport is a main priority in a child s life. On top of trying to be a top player in their sport, they
also have to try and maintain that B average or higher. Some students are not capable of joggling these
two things. Students should just have a warning at first so they can buck up not just straight disable

The Economic Recession Of Italy
Italy is a country governed by a Constitutional Republic and has a diversified industrial economy with
developed infrastructure. The economy consists of a vast majority of small and medium sized
businesses, with few large corporations; and according to the United Nations, citizens of Italy enjoy
the 26th highest HDI (human development index), indicating that the country overall is healthy. And
while Italy is the 8th largest economy in the world by GDP, at $2.129 Trillion, its economy has been
sluggish since 2000 with real GDP growth rate of less than 1.5% every year, and shrunk almost 7%
between 2007 2011. The country has seen its debt increase from 113 to 132 (% of GDP), as a result of
an increase in doubt over the government s ability to manage the economy. The Italian Government
needs to enact fiscal reform to erase the need for deficit spending, increase the country s growth rate,
and advance their economy in the long run. The global economic recession of 2008 shook economies
all around the world. Some of the largest countries saw a massive reduction in their GDP, and Italy
saw its economy shrink 3%. Italy still hasn t recovered from the hit it took in 2008, and it is still
causing problems for the country. Italy s debt actually isn t their problem, but it is the root problem.
Italy has carried debt to GDP ratios well above 100% for over 20 years, but only now are they having
serious economic issues. The real problem has been GDP growth. Back in the booming 1990 s

African American Icon Tyler Perry Characteristics
African American Icon Tyler Perry
I remember the first time I watched a Tyler Perry played at my house when I was younger it was the
funniest play I had ever saw. Madea`s Class Reunion was first piece I laughed so hard that tears were
coming out of my eye. I have watched every single play Tyler Perry created from that day forward.
Perry`s life had been a great motivation of mine since I heard of his dedication and work ethic
throughout his entire life. Hearing his life story knowing what he has gone through is astonishing to
me and I bow my head down to him for all his accomplishments through his hardships. Being a young
inspired young actor his work on and off the camera is remarkable. He has open the doors up for many
of us young African Americans into careers in media and arts.
His filming style as a director would best be described as black feminism but also approval. His films
project the idea of a single unified gender oppression that is experienced evenly by all women but
rather is dictated by the color of your skin. In his films he focusses on the vocal point of African
American women entitlement in the world today. Also the empowerment aspect is very bold in his
movies because usually by the end of these films his main character is improves throughout her
hardship and journey. His films have focused mainly on African American problems or success.
Overall Tyler Perry s signature style is that of a realist. Real people with real issues that find their
ways through

How Technological Warfare Could Not Be Considered The...
Technological warfare might not be considered the fairest of them all, especially not in this era of
warfare advances. Multiple technological advances have been made, and many of them have been
made for the purpose of war. A very common technological advance in relation to war is guns, but
there is no gun like the CIA s (Central Intelligence Agency) 1970 s Heart Attack Gun. According to
Kurt Nimmo of Info Wars, at the point when the heart assault firearm is shot at an individual, the fatal
poison from the bullet rapidly enters the circulatory system causing a myocardial infarction. The toxic
substance denatures rapidly, so a post mortem is unable to determine the cause of the cardiac arrest.
The dart from this complex CIA weapon can penetrate garments and leave only a small red spot on the
skin, like that of a mosquito bite. The toxic dart disintegrates to its aggregate in the wake of entering
the target. We all know what the purpose of a firearm is, even on the battlefield, but imagine being
able to play war off of the battlefield and without arising suspicion. Imagine taking out your enemy
without having to be held accountable for it. Well those are the implications of a gun with this much
power. Now, moving forward to yet another military rate weapon advancement in technological
warfare.

Two Old Women Analysis
Imagine being left stranded out in the middle of the cold Alaskan woods by your own tribe with
nothing but knowledge of how to survive. In the book Two old Women by Velma Wallis, two older
women Ch idzigyaak and Sa were apart of an Alaskan Athabaskan tribe. The tribe didn t have a
permanent home. They followed the caribou herd during the fall and winter. They found places nearby
to get their food and supplies. These two old women were abandoned by their people; left behind
simply because they were too old and slow and, in the tribe s eyes, too lazy to be of worth. They had
to survive on their own if they still wanted to live. Through desperation and perseverance, they learned
their own self worth and earned themselves a place back with their people. You never really know how
strong you are until you have to survive on your own. Times were getting rough for the tribe. Food
was coming up short, and it was getting harder and harder to hunt for food. There were limited
resources during the cold, harsh winter. The tribe was starving. The men in the tribe did all the hunting
while all the women made all the clothes. When the men did catch something, they got to eat first
leaving little to none for the women and children, sometimes even letting them die of starvation. They

Entry one: In the beginning of Montana 1948 by Larry Watson, a vivid scene is set using imagery. The
first character we meet is the protagonist of the story, David Hayden. David is a young boy, living in
Mercer County, Montana. We are introduced to the boy s father and mother, Wesley and Gail Hayden.
Wesley is the town s sheriff who was handed down the position of the sheriff from his father, although
his true passion lies in being a lawyer. Lastly, we meet Marie Little Soldier, the caretaker of David and
housekeeper. She has recently fallen ill with pneumonia and refuses to see a doctor, but Wesley

his favourite horse, Nutty. His grandfather also gives him a gun and lots of ammunition to kill coyotes.
He shoots at many things, but then aims for a bird and kills it, afterwards he feels ...strangely calm, as
if I had been in a state of high agitation but had now come down, my pulse returned to normal, my

Did The Amount Of Salt Affect The Mass Of Ice Cream
Title: Did the amount of salt used in ice cream formation effect the mass of ice cream produced?
Purpose
To discover whether varied amounts of salt used in ice cream formation effected the mass of the final
product.
Background Information In order for water or milk to freeze, the temperature needs to be at or below
0ºC. In order to lower the freezing point of solution, different solutes can be added. A solution is
created by dissolving a solute into a solvent, such as dissolving sugar (solute) into water (solvent). The
process of decreasing a freezing point of a liquid by dissolving a solute into a solution is referred to as
freezing point depression. The freezing point is a colligative property, which means that the freezing
point depends on the number of solute particles dissolved in a solution. For example, CaCl2, which
has three particles, would lower the freezing point of a solution more than NaCl would, which only
has two particles (Helmenstine).
Freezing point depression is used in the world around us, such as when salt is placed onto roads during
winter during which the temperature is around or right below 0ºC to prevent any precipitation that
falls from freezing onto the road. When salt (NaCl) is introduced to ice, hydrogen bonds in the ice
require more energy to join together. This energy is found in the form of heat energy, decreasing the
temperature of the small amount of melted water surrounding the ice (Litherland) . By placing salt
onto roads

Trifles By Susan Glaspell s A Rose For Emily
It is said that all humans experience loneliness at some point in their life. As some people isolate
themselves, they are facing the world with the uncertainty of counting on someone else. On the other
hand, isolation from society can also bring peace, comfort, and evaluation of one s self. In the Trifles
by Susan Glaspell s and A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner the short story and play transmit a
theme of isolation, but in their case, it leads them to disturbing actions.
Starting off firstly, in A Rose for Emily , it shows that the setting took place around the end of the civil

  • 2. How Of A Lab Report How to Write a Lab Report The purpose of a lab report is to describe your lab experiment in such detail (including what was used, when it took place, who was present, how the lab went, what happened, what results were found, and the overall discussions and conclusions) that your described experiment or lab could be replicated by someone of similar education and training who was not present. A lab report should be written as a description of what you did, not instructions for doing the lab. Another goal (especially at this level) is to thoroughly explain what you did and what you learned. When writing a lab report, do not use personal pronouns such as we or I , and so on. For example, write, The egg was placed in a container rather than I placed the egg in a container . The report should be written in past tense. Your paragraphs should be one and a half spaced. Choose a professional font and use a font size of 10, 11, or 12. ALL WRITING MUST BE YOUR OWN WORDS even if you were working with other people! A lab report contains the following components: Title The title should be concise (try for less than ten words) and should reflect the factual content or purpose of the lab / paper. A good title is straightforward and uses keywords that researchers in a particular field will recognize (such as pH Lab , or Virtual pH Lab ). Introduction The introduction of a lab report states the purpose of your experiment. Your hypothesis should be included in the introduction, as well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Women, Law, and Equality Essay In the past 3 decades, women made great advancements in the workforce. First, they have become an integral part of the labour market; they have access to higher education and consequently to traditionally male dominated professions such as medicine, law and business. While statistics show that women are equal to men in terms of their numbers in the law profession, it is not clear however, whether they have achieved equality in all other areas of their employment. In this paper, I will examine women s experiences in the law profession; whether women are earning equal salary compared to the male lawyers, do they still face barriers that are gender related and whether they have broken the glass ceiling in a profession that is supposed to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 66). Women have demonstrated that they possess the academic capability to go through law school. For example Clara Brett Martin, the first woman to become a lawyer , had essentially paved the way for the following generations to be accepted into the law profession, however, many of the barriers that she had to face are still in existence, starting with the male attitudes towards women lawyers to hiring discriminatory practices in firms and general cultural attitudes towards the role of women lawyer. Historically women have had to fight to get equal access to the profession and to the practice of law however, as late as the 1970 women were refused partnerships within firm even after they have demonstrated that they are capable of doing the job. For example, Judge Carolyn king who had practiced corporate law for 10 years at one of the highly established firm, and according to her account had a great experience and her career path proceeded exactly like the career paths of men, was refused partnership simply because she was a woman. She was told later that the possibility of her getting pregnant and taking parental leave was the main reason for being refused partnership (Jackson, 2006). While legislations have been put now to ensure that discrimination on the basis of sex is illegal, researchers agree that systemic discrimination, which is largely unintentional still exist at all levels and its impact touches on women s inability to reach high ranking positions ... The film charts the rise and fall of Henry Hill?s thirty year career within the New York mafia. The film was released in 1990 and was directed by Martin Scorsese. Goodfellas stars Ray Liotta as Henry Hill, Lorraine Bracco as Karen Hill (Henry?s Wife), Robert Dc Niro as James Conway and Joe Pesci as Tommy DeVito. The film begins with one of the most horrific and sickening moments to appear in a film, the murder of Billy Batts. At this point the viewer knows nothing of the background events that run up to this scene. Additionally, the characters are not yet known, so there is no emotional baggage being carried with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The purpose of the narration is to smooth over the various jumps in the story. Throughout the film sub stories change quickly, narration is the device that covers the holes. Without narration the viewer would become lost very quickly, and may not fully understand events. At the beginning of the film, Henry is shown as a young boy looking out of his bedroom window admiring the lifestyle of the local ?Wiseguys?. Here follows a very quick succession of events that show how his character gets involved with these people and what he does to earn more respect from them and eventually be accepted into their group. The narration explains why he admires them so much, ?They did whatever they wanted?, why he wants to part of their group and why he does what he does, ?It was about being somebody in a neighbourhood of nobodies?. Within the film there are four main characters; Henry Hill, Karen Hill, Tommy DeVito, and James Conway. Henry and Karen are the only characters that are followed throughout the film. On the whole, character development is kept to a minimum. For instance, many characters are introduced to the viewer during a walkthrough steadicam shot of a bar. Most of these characters will be seen later on in the film, but will only in the background of various scenes. The viewer may recognise these characters but they still know no more about them. These three concepts, according to Freud, make up the human psyche and provide some insight and understanding into how the human mind works. These so called systems in the brain are in no way physical but together, they make up a whole and contribute towards an individual s behavior. The id is described as the primitive component of one s personality as it consists of everything biologically inherited at birth. This includes one s instincts and sexual desires. The id can be described as being impulsive and contains all of the drives and hidden urges of an individual. Repressed memories in the unconscious mind resides in the id. Freud believed that the id, ego and superego developed at different stages in an individual s life. A newborn child is all id, as it does not have the morals and social influences that come with the ego and superego. The ego, unlike the id, is partly conscious and partly unconscious. It serves as the intermediary between the id and the superego as it makes decisions based on reason, instead of unrealistically and logically (as the id would) or based on morality and societal influences (as the superego would). The ego would create the realistic ways to fulfill the id s demands that are impulsive and with little regard to any consequences. Defense mechanisms exist within the ego due to the fact that it often faces anxiety ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the graphic novel, the belief that the United States of America enhanced the Iran Iraq War justifies Iran being ruled by religious fundamentalists and xenophobic of Westerners. The fact that the Reagan Administration supported Saddam Hussein s attempt to annex Iranian territory with loans, military equipment and satellite imagery led Iranian extremists to reinforce their mistrust in Western policies. Ultimately, the lack of trust and confidence in Western intervention succumbed Iran into an everlasting, extremist regime that insists in cultural ignorance, controls the media, promotes misogyny, and employs death and fearmongering to influence the opinions and actions of a subdued and continuously misunderstood population. Consequently, the instauration of such a radical jurisdiction has further impact on the views of Middle Eastern culture and religion. • 8. Icek Ajzen Theory Of Planned Behavior Theory of Planned Behavior Dana Hall In today s society, we have a mental health crisis that affects everyone, especially the veteran population. Mental health crisis range from one extreme to another being death, suicide or homicide. A goal for health care providers is to prevent these types of those extremes from happening. The most widely used social cognition model for predicting and explaining health behavior is the Theory of Planned Behavior (Ogden, 2003). Icek Ajzen s Theory of Planned Behavior was used as a framework to explain the relationship between one s attitude and behavior and whether or not it can be predicted and or prevented. What the Theory of Planned Behavior focuses on are three kinds of views, behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs and control beliefs (Ajzens, 1971). Atzens suggests that behavioral beliefs focus on the likelihood of the outcome of behavior and the evaluation and whether or not they have a positive or negative attitude toward the behavior itself. Normative belief focuses on the expectations of others and the motivation to comply with those said expectations and if it is viewed as a result of social pressure or subjective norm (Ajzens, 1971). Control beliefs go on to focus on factors that may positively or negatively influence performance of that behavior and the thought power of those factors and perceived behavioral control. Old Age, Survivors And Disability Insurance Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance (OASDI) or more commonly known as Social Security is a federally funded program that gives money to workers after retirement, spouses and children of deceased workers, and workers who become disabled before they retire. It is financed through a payroll deduction tax (FICA); currently a combined 12.4% deduction from workers and their employers (Tax Topics). It currently has a base wage limit or tax cap, the maximum wage that is subject to the tax for a particular year, of $118,500 (Tax Topics). President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the Social Security law in 1935, at which time thirty four other countries in Europe already had some form of retirement plan in place. Social Security ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the 1940s, the payroll taxes from approximately forty workers were supporting one beneficiary; by 2030, however, only two workers will be supporting each retiree (Saving). This decrease is caused by a combination of a longer life expectancy, increased benefits, and a lower birth rate. Although it benefits millions of Americans each year, there is now much discussion of reform because of the decrease in the worker to retiree ratio. The National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI), in their guidebook Making Ends Meet: How Should We Spread Prosperity and Improve Opportunity? makes a double suggestion for Social Security tax reform: the tax could be raised from 6.2% to 7.2% for workers and employers, which raises the overall payroll tax to 17.4%, and the base wage limit could be either raised or abolished. They claim that these two suggestions combined will keep the Social Security program funded for twenty years past the projected time frame, which is currently nineteen years (Making Ends Meet, 12). The Making Ends Meet guidebook is about recovering from the 2007 recession and touches on three main topics: creating new opportunities, strengthening the safety net, and reducing the income gap. The safety net section of the guidebook discusses the need to provide better programs to help unemployed workers, as well as retirees and the disabled. I believe technology has spread to nearly every field, even if it is a minor use of it. Transportation, conversation, banking, and even working places have some sort of technology with it now. But what is going to be discussed in this Wiki is the impact that technology and computers have made with medicine and healthcare. • 13. The Traditions Of Rituals By Nicholas B. Dawe Essay The traditions of rituals is strongly examined by author Nicholas B. Dirks in Ritual and Resistance: Subversion as a Social Fact, where he attempts to persuade readers of the drawbacks of ritual practices through an anthropological point of view. Dirks explains to his readers of the fundamentals of rituals as: brimming with resistance , opposed to [everyday] , along with the centrality of the subject of power (Dirks 1994, 483 503). Continuing to state his supporting arguments through the article, Dirk s concludes that too much of regular (daily) ritual practices creates a normalization in the ritual itself (Dirks 1994, 483 503). Understanding the perspective of the creation of ordinarity of the practices, one could argue that the repetition of a curtain act of a tradition can become a normality such as Dirks states in his writings; however, if the act of tradition is not conducted daily, yet instead semi annually/annually, there would not be a normality. Dirks presents his thesis as [focussing] on everyday forms of resistance, critiquing both anthropological assumptions about ritual and historical reifications of [the] assumptions (Dirks 1994, 483). Uncertainty as an affective condition is characterized by negative feeling of anxiety, frustration, apprehension, and worry. (Brumfield, 2008). These feelings can easily be generated with someone new because of the uncertainty about social beliefs, common interests, political values, etc. The importance of a first impression sets the foundation for entering a new relationship with new co workers. Due to the important nature of this stage it can be very stressful, not to mention that these interactions are taking place with numerous people not a singular person. Learning new mannerisms and behaviors for every individual is the main way to reduce the uncertainty. The more the communication takes place the more barriers will come down and the quality of the conversations will increase. During the entry phase mainly demographics are shared, which is just enough information to get to know the new people in the workplace. Some of the demographics that will be shared are age, social status, economic status and topics of that nature. Development of those conversations start the personal phase, when opinions and beliefs begin to surface that indicates the steps into phase two. People are naturally information seeking, which decreases as uncertainty about the other person decreases (businesstopia.net, 2018). During this phase the conversations feel less forced and more fluid, being able to share more personal information without the worry of upsetting the other person. In a new workplace especially a new one it is important to establish personal relationships with people that will be working within a proximity every day. Over time the need to share rapid amounts of information will decrease and instead more qualitive information will be shared. There are a numerous amount of compelling arguments that support each side of the idea about curfews. Although there are many arguments that can be made, there are a number of positive factors that lead to the belief that curfews should be implemented in a household atmosphere. An important feature of a teenager s curfew is family time. Spending time with family is essential for maintaining the relationships within the household. African American Icon Tyler Perry Characteristics African American Icon Tyler Perry I remember the first time I watched a Tyler Perry played at my house when I was younger it was the funniest play I had ever saw. Madea`s Class Reunion was first piece I laughed so hard that tears were coming out of my eye. I have watched every single play Tyler Perry created from that day forward. Perry`s life had been a great motivation of mine since I heard of his dedication and work ethic throughout his entire life. Hearing his life story knowing what he has gone through is astonishing to me and I bow my head down to him for all his accomplishments through his hardships. Being a young inspired young actor his work on and off the camera is remarkable. He has open the doors up for many of us young African Americans into careers in media and arts. His filming style as a director would best be described as black feminism but also approval. His films project the idea of a single unified gender oppression that is experienced evenly by all women but rather is dictated by the color of your skin. In his films he focusses on the vocal point of African American women entitlement in the world today. Also the empowerment aspect is very bold in his movies because usually by the end of these films his main character is improves throughout her hardship and journey. His films have focused mainly on African American problems or success. Overall Tyler Perry s signature style is that of a realist. Real people with real issues that find their ways through ... • 28. How Technological Warfare Could Not Be Considered The... Technological warfare might not be considered the fairest of them all, especially not in this era of warfare advances. Multiple technological advances have been made, and many of them have been made for the purpose of war. A very common technological advance in relation to war is guns, but there is no gun like the CIA s (Central Intelligence Agency) 1970 s Heart Attack Gun. According to Kurt Nimmo of Info Wars, at the point when the heart assault firearm is shot at an individual, the fatal poison from the bullet rapidly enters the circulatory system causing a myocardial infarction. The toxic substance denatures rapidly, so a post mortem is unable to determine the cause of the cardiac arrest. The dart from this complex CIA weapon can penetrate garments and leave only a small red spot on the skin, like that of a mosquito bite. The toxic dart disintegrates to its aggregate in the wake of entering the target. We all know what the purpose of a firearm is, even on the battlefield, but imagine being able to play war off of the battlefield and without arising suspicion. Imagine taking out your enemy without having to be held accountable for it. Well those are the implications of a gun with this much power. Now, moving forward to yet another military rate weapon advancement in technological warfare. In the book Two old Women by Velma Wallis, two older women Ch idzigyaak and Sa were apart of an Alaskan Athabaskan tribe. The tribe didn t have a permanent home. They followed the caribou herd during the fall and winter. They found places nearby to get their food and supplies. They had to survive on their own if they still wanted to live. Through desperation and perseverance, they learned their own self worth and earned themselves a place back with their people. You never really know how strong you are until you have to survive on your own. Times were getting rough for the tribe. • 39. Did The Amount Of Salt Affect The Mass Of Ice Cream Title: Did the amount of salt used in ice cream formation effect the mass of ice cream produced? Purpose To discover whether varied amounts of salt used in ice cream formation effected the mass of the final product. Background Information In order for water or milk to freeze, the temperature needs to be at or below 0ºC. In order to lower the freezing point of solution, different solutes can be added. A solution is created by dissolving a solute into a solvent, such as dissolving sugar (solute) into water (solvent). The process of decreasing a freezing point of a liquid by dissolving a solute into a solution is referred to as freezing point depression. The freezing point is a colligative property, which means that the freezing point depends on the number of solute particles dissolved in a solution. For example, CaCl2, which has three particles, would lower the freezing point of a solution more than NaCl would, which only has two particles (Helmenstine). Freezing point depression is used in the world around us, such as when salt is placed onto roads during winter during which the temperature is around or right below 0ºC to prevent any precipitation that falls from freezing onto the road. When salt (NaCl) is introduced to ice, hydrogen bonds in the ice require more energy to join together. This energy is found in the form of heat energy, decreasing the temperature of the small amount of melted water surrounding the ice (Litherland) . By placing salt onto roads ... As some people isolate themselves, they are facing the world with the uncertainty of counting on someone else. On the other hand, isolation from society can also bring peace, comfort, and evaluation of one s self. In the Trifles by Susan Glaspell s and A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner the short story and play transmit a theme of isolation, but in their case, it leads them to disturbing actions. The author states, But garages and cotton gins had encroached and obliterated even the august names of that neighborhood; only Miss Emily s house was left, lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay above the cotton wagons and the gasoline pumps¬ an eyesore among sores (Faulkner 906). It explains that Emily is refusing to move forward and keeps living in the past. For instance, as society was evolving and becoming more modern she would refuse to pay taxes and receive newer mail services. Emily was exempt from paying taxes at the beginning of her father s death as he lent the mayor a big amount of money. As a decade went by, they wanted her to resume her payments, and she would refuse to do so. In a way, Emily does not want to move forward into the new generation because she respects her father s traditional morals and wishes. She does not want to tarnish his memory. Emily later starts dating a man who is new to town and is helping renovate the town, like paving the sidewalks. Homer Barron, her love interest, later gave the impression that they might get married. While homer is out of town, Emily buys rat poison and gives an impression to some towns people that she might try to commit suicide.
