How Charitable Organizations May Not Participate Or Intervene
Charitable organizations may not participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of
any candidate in office. The violation of engaging in political activities is the loss of the
organization s tax exempt status. The prohibition of such political activity includes making
contributions to a candidate s political campaign, making endorsements of a candidate, lending
employees to work in a political campaign, or providing facilities for use by a candidates.
However, there are certain educational activities that are permitted. An organization may conduct
an educational activity as long as the activity is unbiased and nonpartisan. A public charity may
provide a forum for debates by candidates, as long as the forum is fair and... Show more content on

Early legislation was enacted between 1894 and 1936; tax exempt regulations during this time
developed around three principles: First, organizations that operated for charitable purposes were
granted exemption from the Federal income tax. Second, charitable organizations were required to
be free of private inurement. Finally, an income tax deduction for contributions designed to
encourage charitable giving, was developed. One of the first tax exempt regulations was the Wilson
Gorman Tariff Act of 1894. The Wilson Gorman Tariff Act established that charitable organizations
must operate for a charitable purpose in order to be tax exempt. The act also stated, nothing herein
contained shall apply to corporations, companies, or associations organized and conducted solely
for charitable, religious, or educational purposes. The Court later held that the law as
unconstitutional. However, the act provided the foundation for future tax legislation involving
charitable organizations. The Revenue Act of 1909 expanded the language from the Wilson
Gorman Tariff Act. The Revenue Act was important because it established the idea that tax exempt
charitable organizations should be free of private inurement. Under this act tax exemption was given
to any corporation or association organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, or

God Of Small Things Essay
And the air was full of Thoughts and Things to Say. But at times like these, only the Small Things
are ever said. Big Things lurk unsaid inside.
― Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things
INTRODUCTION
The God of Small Things is a novel by Indian author Arundhati Roy. This novel is debut novel of
Arundhati Roy and known for wining booker prize, one of the most prestigious awards in the
English language literary world. Roy started writing her first novel (The God of Small Things)
in 1992 and novel got completed in 1996. The publication of The God of Small Things gave Roy

Her genius lies in her application of humour even while describing grave issues that perturb the
society. The tone of the entire novel is melancholy, infused with a sense of dejected prudence.
Though Roy writes the novel from the children s perspective, the older characters reveal their
vulnerabilities as the story proceeds. Even though the pace of the story is slow, the author
fabricates her story delightfully and it proves to be a predominantly pleasurable experience for its
readers. The God of Small Things consists of two primary interlinked storylines. One is that of the
family in Aymenem and their day to day affairs. The other concerns itself with the protagonist s
first meeting with her fraternal twin after a gap of twenty three years. In between, there are other
secondary plotlines chronicling the stories of the other characters. The God of Small Things is an
ambitious novel that portray universal theme ranging from religion to biology. Roy stress
throughout the novel that small and big things are interlinked. The novel is able to comment on the
issue simultaneously on, abstract themes, universal and a wide variety of ideas relating to the
individual and family history of the members of the Kochamma family as well as the wider concerns

Essay On Girish Karnad
Godugunuri Prasad
The Man and The Writer
Girish Karnad is one of the foremost playwrights of the contemporary Indian stage. He has given
the Indian theatre a richness that could probably be equated only with his talents as an actor
director. His contribution goes beyond theatre: he has directed feature films, documentaries and
television serials in Kannada, Hindi, and English and has played leading roles as an actor in Hindi
and Kannada art films, commercial movies and television serials. He has represented Indian in
foreign lands as an emissary of art and culture.

articles, the most significant being In search of a New Theatre in Contemporary Indian Tradition,
ed. Carla Borden (Washington; Smithsonian Press, 1988) and Theatre in India, in Daedalus,
Vo1.118, No.4, pp.331 52.(7) While as Karnad is a multi faceted personality, it is essentially as a
playwright that he is at his best. He confesses, I have been fairly lucky in having a multi pronged
career. You know, I have been an actor, a publisher, and a film maker. But in none of these fields
have I felt quite as much at home as in playwriting. In India, unfortunately, the writers cannot live
on their writing alone; it does not yield enough royalties for sustenance. Karnad says, One can t
earn a comfortable living even from a successful play. Take Tughlaq,. As we know, it s been
enormously successful В¬critically as well as in performance. Playwrights in the west have been
able to retire on such successes or at least, to devote themselves to that activity entirely. I can t.
Today Girish Karnad considered one of the most significant Indian dramatists. He has enriched the
Indian literary scene by his contribution to art, culture, theatre and drama. It is most befitting that
Karnad has been conferred by the President of India, the prestigious awards, Padmasri in 1974
and Padmabhushan in 1992. Also, he received the Gubbi Veeranna Award from the Government
of Karnataka in 1997. Karnad is based in Bangalore and lives with his wife, a medico and his two

Union University Art Gallery Analysis
Union University Art Gallery plays host to several different artists galleries throughout the year,
for free and open to the public. Currently on display is Hodgepodge , a collection of about ten
canvases by Brian Bundren. While Bundren has been painting and displaying his artwork for
quite some time (his first gallery was in the mid 1990s!), Hodgepodge contains paintings only
from 2013 2016. All of the artwork shows great precision and attention to detail. The colors are
vibrant and rich. That is not to say the colors were bright or cheerful (only one paintingwas
particularly bright ), but the colors were all pure and distinct. Most of the paintings, in my opinion,
would fit under the umbrella of surrealism. Walking into the gallery immediately starts to produce
feelings of unease and perhaps feelings of being threatened. The individual objects in the paintings
are very realistic but mashed together in unnatural ways. Only one painting, J.V. s Thunderbird ,
felt calm ; it did not cause me to personally feel discomfort, even though it was not peaceful. It was
a large canvasdisplaying an underwater scene in bright blue. A Thunderbird was half visible along
the bottom edge of the canvas. A deep sea diver was present,... Show more content on

There is a muzzle, open and snarling, behind a few peonies. At first glance, it appears to be the
muzzle of a dog, but careful inspection of the shape of the nostrils, mandible, and placement of
what appears to be the eyes, it looks more to be a baboon, one of the great ape family. Pink
peonies (there are two in full bloom and one bud) commonly represents love and honor, while white
peonies (there is one at the bottom) represents shyness or bashfulness. For me, this painting shows
that for every good thing there is in the world, there is the other behind it: an oft uncontrollable,

Sociological Research On Physical Disability
The labelling theory are the actions of individuals who are labelled or seen as deviant. The
theorist Becker suggests labelling theories which is to look beyond by just the norm breaking act
but instead focuses on how society view people who are deemed as deviant in this case physically
disabled and reactions from society whether it is good or bad. Physical disabilityis when a person
lost full or partial loss of their bodily functions. Labelling perspective is still relevant in our
society and for society to be able to look beyond the norm breaking; society needs to develop an
understanding about the difference between disabilities . Stigma labels may produce the deviant
behaviour that is being condemned and therefore individuals can become the thing that they are
labelled as. Stigma are bodily traits, marks or features that are in some way unusual . Which can
occur as a consequence for social rejection.
Most sociological research on physical disability by using a labelling theory approach and focusing
on the negative consequence of the stigma. Labelling behaviour as disability can provide the
disability people with opportunities and whether labelling perspective has a negative or positive
consequence on physical disability. Negative consequences would include restrictions on rights,
limitations on life chances, limitations on future participation in society and employment
difficulties for the individuals who are physically disabled, those all result in a negative

Flagstaff Arizona Mental Health Assignment
Introduction I thought a lot about this assignment. It was important, to me, that I gathered
information that would be applicable for the clients I will serve as a social worker. Here in
Flagstaff Arizona, we are fortunate to live in a community which celebrates cultural diversity.
Flagstaff is home to a large Latino, DinГ© and Hopi population. I wanted to critique a mental
health assessment that I felt would be culturally sensitive, appropriate and address the needs of
these populations. Having said that, I analyzed this intake form in terms of its usability for a variety
of different cultures and populations. I also aimed to assess the intake form in relation to sexual
orientation and issues around gender identity. The hope being that... Show more content on

I do not think there is always sufficient space to answer questions completely. For example,
within the Family Background and Childhood History section, there are questions asking the
client to describe their relationship with both their father and mother. Only one and one half
lines are provided for this response. A bit more space might encourage a better understanding of
client concerns. I understand the intake is intended to be brief but additional client explanation
would be helpful. Should the intake be re formatted so it is easier to read? Why? In general, the
intake form is formatted thoughtfully. My suggestion would be to expand certain areas, include
a few more questions and provide a bit more space between topic areas. One aspect I really
appreciated was on the final page where space is provided for the client to add any additional areas
of concern. I reviewed quite a few intake forms for this assignment and found very few that
incorporated this aspect. What would you include? What would you remove? Why? I do not feel
there is anything I would remove but there is content I would include. For example, in the
beginning of the intake, a demographic section would be helpful. Addition of this section would
give the clinician further insight into the clients cultural systems. Questions might

Arrow Impossibility Theorem
The Arrow impossibility theorem and its implications for voting and elections
Arrow s impossibility theorem represents a fascinating problem in the philosophy of economics,
widely discussed for insinuating doubt on commonly accepted beliefs towards collective decision
making procedures.
This essay will introduce its fundamental assumptions, explain its meaning, explore some of the
solutions available to escape its predictions and finally discuss its implications for political voting
and elections. I will begin by giving some definitions and presenting the fundamental issue of social
choice theory, consisting of the identification of an ideal device for preference aggregation, capable
of converting individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The existence of such trade off poses serious obstacles for the identification of an optimal voting
system in real society elections and has strong consequences in welfare economics and justice
theory.
There are possible solutions to escape the paradox by accepting to relax one or more of the theorem
fundamental assumptions. For example, by restricting the voting choice between just two
alternatives, a coherent group decisions can always be obtained through majority voting.
In politics this is commonly achieved using different methods among which are the assignment of
agenda power to an individual, the elimination of defeated alternatives from the vote and the
limitation of voting rounds. Individuals having the power of making such choices can actively
influence the results of the elections and have their most preferred outcome implemented.
Another popular approach consists of restricting the application of the voting system to a specific
type of individual preferences denoted as single peaked , characterized by the presence of a most
preferred alternative for each individual. Furthermore, in the context of a uni dimensional policy
space we can also apply Black s median voter theorem to identify the Condorcet winner in the
societal ranking, consisting of the most preferred alternative of the median voter.
Despite the existence of a number of cases where it s possible to circumnavigate the paradox, many
political problems present complex and

How Social Media Shapes Musical Identities
The following proposal will be an overview of a short documentary project that will analyze and
discuss how social media shapes musical identities. To do this I will use Instagram, YouTube, and
Facebook to consider the interactions that happen through these mediums and also look into how
this relationship can form musical identities. Thus, I will use interview subjects who I will film
interviews with myself and I will also interview and use videos of fellow students on Mike
Johnston s online student page. I will use Jimmie Manning s chapter in the book, Beyond New
Media by Herbig, Herrmann, and Tyma to discuss the intricate nature of identitythroughout this
proposal to identify some of the areas of focus such as public musicidentity and social mediated
music identity. I will also use things like Mcgee s theoryof fragmentation and Megan Foley s sound
bites to explain how subjects subsume their social mediated music identities.
For this project I would like to do a short three to four minute documentary to analyze how social
media helps shape peoples musical identity in this technological era. I can only give an estimate
at this time because I know a lot of people who have said they would like to contribute to this
project. However, I also know life happens so that number may change that is why I have chosen
to leave the length a little open ended. The documentary will follow about four subjects five,
including a few appearances of myself. It will follow two

Reading skills are essential to learning all other subjects taught in school. The sharper the reading
skills children have and the earlier they accumulate them will determine how rapidly and how well
they will achieve in school. That is why it is very crucial to get students motivated to read at a
young age. Research has consistently shown that children who are exposed to reading or who read
regularly gather long term benefits such as better academic performance, a mastery of language,
better communication skills and more logical thinking, Nevertheless many parents struggle with
generating ideas to encourage or motivate their children to read. There are three learning principles
that can be used to help parents help their children get motivated to read. Those learning principles
are Classical Conditioning, Operant Conditioningand Observational Learning.
Classical conditioning is the association of two stimuli and thus we learn to anticipate events.
Classical conditioning is a learning procedure that involve reflexes. Reflexes consist of the
following: Unconditioned Stimulus (US) a stimulus that evokes an unconditioned response without
any prior conditioning. Unconditioned Response (UR) an unlearned response to an unconditioned
stimulus that occurs without prior conditioning. Neutral Stimulus(NS) which is a stimulus that
produces no specific response. Conditioned Stimulus (CS) is the neutral stimulus after it has

Greek Vs. Norse Mythology
Greek Vs. Norse Mythology Assignment; Matisse Piper
The myths of Thor and Zeus come from the Greek and Norse tradition. Both are Gods of lightning,
thunder, and both mythological characters have been featured in spectacular movies. Thor was
considered the storm and weather god of the sky as well as thunder. He is one of the most
prominent figures in Norse mythology. Zeus was the god of the sky and ruler of the Olympian
gods. Both of these Gods structures were very similar and they are perceived to be very close in
comparison, even though their stories are very different. I believe that both gods are still very
relevant today s world, even though they were said to be recounted millions of years ago. Thor
was the God of thunder and lighting in Norse tradition. He was the most loved and worshiped
Norse God even though Odin, Thor s father, had more authority and held a higher throne. The
sole reason this Norse god appealed to so many was because he was associated with common
people. His powers were a crucial part to growing crops and as the Norse mythology was a key

The Importance of Political Candidates Religion in American Politics
Religion and Politics have played a loud and at some times discordant counterpoint in the United

fundamentalist religion in American History. As American s we ve always had had the
constitutional right to chose our religion. Yet our country s leaders, that sit in the highest political

Whether or not religion will continue to be a constructive voice in politics in the decades a head
is an open question. Scientific materialism has made it more difficult for religious believer to
effectively join the public debate: and the dramatic secularization of public life in recent years has
added new barriers to mixing faith in politics. Even so, the United States remains one of the most
religious nations in the industrialized world, and it would be foolish to discount the inherent power
of religious idealism for animating social and political reform.

The On The Flip Side
On the flip side, Gunter argues that Iraq enjoys a glowing and vibrant underground economy that
is a direct side effect of its bureaucracy and corruption. Private businesses in Iraq must choose
between seeking to become a legal enterprise, which due to regulatory hostility is a difficult and
expensive process, or operating in the underground economy with all of the associated
inefficiencies. One characteristic common to both options is the necessity of paying bribes to a
long line of corrupt officials. One survey of corruption in Iraqshowed that one fifth of private
businesses reported paying 40% or more of their firm s total revenues in bribes. Excluding
agriculture, an estimated 6% of the labor force is employed by private legal enterprises while
20% is employed in the underground economy. Firms in the underground economy tend to be
small scale, engaged in services or light manufacturing. In many cases, underground entities are
engaged in illegal activities such as selling black market fuel or smuggling across Iraq s long
open borders. However, other underground firms are engaged in other wise legal activities that
are concealed to avoid the choice of meeting arduous regulations or paying bribes to inspectors to
ignore violations. As expected, workers in the underground economy lack legal protections and
there are stories of workers being denied pay or even physically abused. Generally firms in Iraq s
underground economy are very inefficient. This inefficiency arises

Arguments Of Narcissism
I went to the church yesterday! The impetus for the same was a mail from the vicar of the Parish,
welcoming the returning students after the Thanksgiving break. Quite thoughtful from the part of
the vicar, I presume, as for me, I spend the week binge drinking and voraciously reading vicious
books according to my mother. Inside the church, all I could see was the carved wooden faces
draped in shawls and winter clothes, awaiting the commencement of ceremonious Holy Mass. As
the clock struck seven, at the university by the lakeside, the Entrance hymn began the answerfor the
ultimate philosophical question, Why am I What I am here? this question can be paraphrased less
narcissistic as What is the purpose of life? .

silence is the answer of the universe, to every important question thrown its way. Indeed, the very
idea of silence to any question seems quite ridiculous at a peripheral level, however eloquence of

Political Debates Of The United States
Political debates in the United States, has turned into a constant public dispute, on who is more

Donald Trump, at this point is just trying to influence his constituents and say what they would
love to hear. Yet, the sharing of taxes has never been consistent nor fair in the United States.
According to the Tax Fairness.org Facts Sheets, say that many wealthy Americans have ways to
avoid paying their fair share in taxes (Americanstax.org). Everyone has mixed feelings when it
comes to the tax topic, because most of our societies consist of working class individuals and
even below the poverty line group. So when we talk about the wealthy, is that 1%, whom are
gaining most of the incomes. This is not a surprise to American citizens. However, even though
Donald Trump s proposition sounds very interesting, killing the estate tax would cost [roughly]
$20 billion a year (Hunt, par.4), and we cannot afford more debt added to our budged in the
United States. A G.O.P challenger, Senator Marco Rubio, debated about tax cuts, but that this
would give almost twice as much to the rich (Hunt, par.5). If we are realistic, cutting taxes off
completely, will sort of benefit the working class because we will be fully gaining what we work
for, but, the richer will also benefit tremendously, because they won t have to pay no type of
taxes what so ever. The tax reform is an issue that we need to look into very closely, since it affects

Rules 4 Creating Power Point Presentation
10 Rules for Creating Successful Power Point Presentations
I ve blogged many times on how NOT to use Power Point. Most people use it incorrectly, and it
becomes a barrier between speaker and audience. For example, they create word slides, really
speaker notes, with many bullets of text, expecting what? the audience to read along with them? Or,
they go nuts with the animation, swoops, and flying headlines that make audiences dizzy to little
purpose. Or they use cheap looking clip art that creates a tacky image of speaker and organization
in the mind of the audience.
But what about the right way to use Power Point? What does that look like? Is there any right
way? Following are 10 rules for using Power Point successfully.

Targeted Killing History
With an eye on the future, and another on protecting the inherent freedoms of the citizens of the
United States presently, the U.S. government has employed and advanced a series of targeted
killing programs within the last quarter century. These programs are aimed at targets that present a
serious threat to the security and safety of the United States, and range from drone strikes to the
implementation of tactical teams, with the goal of capturing or killing high valued targets. From
this point forward, this paper will firstly address the nature and definition of targeted killings, then
briefly outline the history and current implementation of these programs, and finally, most
importantly, focus on the future potential and viability of the... Show more content on

For the purposes of this paper, the history of targeted killings will begin with the modern role of
political assassinations near the end of the twentieth century, as they loosely fall under the
previously established definition for target killings. In response to public outcry regarding post
Watergate revelations that CIA organized and orchestrated a series of assassination attempts on the
life of Cuban President Fidel Castro, then President Gerald Ford issued Executive Order 11905.
This executive order, under section 5(g) entitled Prohibition on Assassination, states that, No
employee of the United States Government shall engaged in, or conspire to engage in, political
assassination. Both succeeding presidents, Carter and Reagan, affirmed the assassination
prohibition; and as there has yet to be a piece of legislation that overrides it, it still remains in
place. This prohibition is critical in a legal context because it provided the founding directive that
specifically precluded targeted killings. However, administrations ranging as far back as Reagan,
and as recent as today s, have both stated that such directives do not apply when the United States
is acting in self defense, such as in the proposed cases of the bombing the home of former Libyan
leader Muammar Gaddafi in the 1980s, by the Reagan administration, or missile strikes on the

Competitive Strategy for Low Cost Airlines
Hongwei Jiang
RMIT University, Australia
Abstract The aim of this paper is to identify challenge faced to Low Cost Carriers (LCCs) or Low
Cost Airlines and provide new insights into the development and competitive strategy for LCCs.
LCCs are still a relatively new phenomenon in Australia since Virgin Blue and Jetstar came to the
market. There are over 30 LCCs have been launched since 2002 worldwide. In fact, LCCs have
been very successful in the USA and Europe since 1990s. For example, in 1994 less than 3 million
passengers flew on LCCs. In 1999, five years later, this figure had risen to about 17.5 ... Show more

Today, Southwest Airlinesoperates more than 3,100 daily flights to 62 cities across the United
States, and registers yearly more than 80 million passengers. What began as a small Texas airline,
Southwest now has grown to become one of the largest airlines in the United States1. European
history of low cost airlines is much younger, but those airlines are for sure trendsetters of the
1990s. The expansion of LCCs in Europe coincided with the final deregulation of the market
during the 1990s. Genuine lowcost operations began in Great Britain in the 1990s with the Irish
company Ryanair (founded in 1985 and started operating flights in 1986), which was patterned on
American Southwest Airlines. Following Great Britain, LCCs have successfully developed on the
Continent (Grotte, 2005). In the year 2005, there are 60 low cost airlines operating in Europe2.
Prior to 2002, there were no significant low cost scheduled carriers operating in the Asia Pacific
rim. The initial slow development was in part due to the perception that the low cost model adopted
in the United States and Europe could not be replicated in Asia, because of the longer aircraft stage
lengths, lack of secondary airports and regulatory restrictions preventing access to international
markets. The latter being particularly relevant given

Barbie s Role Models Represent The Unobtainable Physique
Growing up, I played with Barbie. Barbie had her own house, car and airplane. She had clothes
and shoes for every occasion. She was independent and successful. She was tall, blonde and
beautiful. She was everything I hoped to be as an adult. Barbie continues to be a role model for
many little girls today. Little boys have their own role model, G.I. Joe. He is strong, a warrior, the
good guy. Unfortunately, these iconic role models represent the unobtainable physique. Their body
shapes are unrealistic. Perceiving these toys as physical role models has become detrimental to the
health of children because when they fail to size up, or down, to these figures, serious illnesses,
disease and even death can occur. Children are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Egyptian Reserve Heads Essay
Introduction Khufu s reign in the beginning of the Fourth Dynasty marks one of the greatest
periods of change in funerary monumental construction. The careful planning of his complex at
Giza extended from the Great Pyramid itself to the satellite cemeteries that would eventually hold
the members of his family and his administration. It is in this temporal and geographic space that a
puzzling find, unique to the Pyramid Age, appeared. The Egyptian reserve heads, well sculpted
depictions of human heads, have remained an enigma since their first finding. Funerary anomalies,
their composition, characteristic features, and placement have sparked multiple theories about their
significance within the private funerary cult and within Egyptian... Show more content on

This term has since been commonly adopted to refer to the heads as they have been the subjects of
articles, lectures, and one very complete study by Roland Tefnin. While many musings and theories
have been put forth to explain the presence and purpose of the heads, no previous work has
attempted to combine the archaeological contexts with objective descriptions of the heads
themselves. Tefnin s work is impressive in its detail, yet he spends little time discussing the
archaeological context beyond general geographic position. Reisner and Junker, who excavated the
majority of the tombs containing reserve heads, published the heads with their context.
Nevertheless, neither included the heads or contexts excavated by the other. Luckily, the
methodologies employed by both Reisner and Junker were ahead of their time. Thanks to their
careful publication, it is possible, at least to some degree, to discuss the contexts with confidence.
With the publications of the other excavators, the situation is not as auspicious. Similarly, the heads
themselves are often described in romanticized terms meant to capture the character of the person
portrayed. Even more recent scholarship frequently generalizes about the features extant on the
heads. This subjective,

Why I Was A Kid
When I was a kid, I would always hear my mom and the other adults talk about how they were
going to move us out and come back to the city. They was a reference to white people and us
referred to minorities in the inner city. This was back in Milwaukee in the early 1980 s, now
every city that I go to and visit this myth seems to follow. It wasn t until I moved to Atlantaand over
the last ten years, I saw the city change right before my very eyes. I noticed nice condos going up

the West End and Sweet Auburn District. After seeing some of the prices for these new apartments
and homes, I knew there was no way that the current... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What will happens to these long term residents, where do they go now? If suburbanites are
taking flight back to the city, what will the face of Atlanta look like in ten years? The inner city
residents will probably be given vouchers for Section 8 housing in less desirable areas in the city
where jobs and transportation are scarce. As for the later, in the next ten years Atlanta will go
from predominantly black and liberal landscape to a more white conservative population, if we
aren t including or afforded the benefits of gentrification. The exodus of the Black poor and
working class to the suburbs, will in effect lead to the loss of Black politicians and old time
supporters of the old Atlanta.
Will gentrification radically alter a neighborhood? Does so called cleaning up really change
anything, or is it just straightening it up , making it look more attractive for visitors. Atlanta s
populus in urban areas continues to grow, but this growth is now being fueled by existing suburban
residents and yuppie transplants from other states, streaming current residents further out of the
city. Africans Americans once held a strong hold as the majority in Atlanta, but that grip is slowly

Waking Up And Taking Charge
In Waking Up and Taking Charge, Anya Kamenetz is persuading us to ignite the flame and fight
for our rights as students. Young adults need to stop focusing on global issues and start focusing
on problems regarding their personal and financial lives. It is important that students put a freeze
on global issues and better things for themselves while they are in school, because it will help
them in the long run. Waking Up and Taking Charge seems to be about pushing young adults to
be selfish toward their own problems, but it is really about students taking a stand and fighting
for their political views by focusing on problems that have yet to be addressed. Adultescents
should fight for better lower tuition costs and better financial aid to help them financially, and
should work together to bring these situations to light. Younger adults are legally able to vote in
political elections and be active in the government, so why aren t their voices heard more often?
Because they focus on problems that don t affect them and problems that are already brought to
light and/or are already being taken care of. Student organizations don t even focus on school
related issues. They focus more on global issues. She compares our country to others and how other
countries have made student s lives and wallets better. Also, students are not educated on issues
regarding themselves as much as they should be, so they dig themselves an economic grave.

The increasing trend of child sexual abuse is one of the most important and significant subject of
discussion in the present time. In simple terms child sexual abuse refers to using, the child for
sexual molestation and sexual stimulation by an adult. This might also include any kind of sexual
activity with the child or any kind of indecent exposure. Child pornography, child rape and child
prostitution are all a part of this.
Symptoms of child sexual abuse can be psychological or physical or both. Psychological can include
a depressed state of mind, mental trauma, amnesia, sleep disorder, irritation and anxiety, mood

Performance Enhancing Drugs Should Be Allowed
One of the most debated topics in all of sports is whether performance enhancing drugs should be
allowed. According to the free dictionary, performance enhancing drugs is defined as Any drug
used to gain an advantage in sports. Such drugs may improve endurance or strength or accelerate
healing after injury . Performance enhancing drugs was first acknowledged as a problem in
professional sports in 1967 when the international Olympic committee created a medical board due
to the heightened use. Today there are seven types of performance enhancers including: stimulants,
narcotics, anabolic androgenic steroids, beta 2 agonists, peptide hormones, diuretics, blood doping.
That number might seem small but there is a massive amount of variety within these drugs that is
causing more and more athletes every year to use them. Performance enhancing drugs should be
illegal because of the unfair advantage, health risks, and the lack of role models that athletes would
play. Sports have been around since the beginning of time. As the games age and become more
popular, they start to evolve and become more competitive at the same time. This evolution comes
from better strategies, techniques, and ultimately the athletes themselves. In today s modern era of
sports, professional athletes are the most elite people in their field, always wanting to be better than
anyone else. With every athlete striving to become one of the greatest to ever play, some want to
take short cuts. These short cuts

Americans, there was a lot of racial segregation between white and black people in society. The
racial segregation included separate seating areas and drinking fountains for white and black
people. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parkswere the main leaders of this movement. They

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bio Composite

construction of two aircraft carriers, while the British Short Mayo seaplane composite demonstrated
successful transatlantic mail delivery. During the Second World War, some composites saw

Argument Of Morality
The Authors have debated the (de)criminalization of Section 309 on three grounds, morality
constitutionality and rationality. The contention of the Authors is that there is an inherent flaw in
the mechanism of criminalizing an attempt to suicide, the reasons for which are dealt with below.
A.ARGUING THE QUOTIENT OF MORALITY
Christianity puts an absolute prohibition over the attempt to suicide by mortal beings. Suicide is
directly contrary to the will of God, and finds origin in the realm of the demonic host, who come
only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. Similarly, Hindu scriptures also portray the attempt of
suicide to be against the will of God and therefore, immoral.
The three major religions of India, namely Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity, all proclaim that
suicide as unacceptable. Teachings of both the Bible and Quran say that as God is the one who
gives life, He is the only one entitled to end it, and thus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hinduism considers human life is seen as the highest form of life and to cut that short would be
considered bad karma and would send a person back to a lower form of life. If this life is cut
short prematurely, then the person will become wandering spirit until the allotted time for them
to move onto the next life. Sati, the outlawed practice of a widow joining her dead husband on
the funeral pyre, could also be seen as suicide, but the cultural and social issues here are
somewhat different. Hinduism does have some acceptable forms of suicide that are considered
self sacrifice rather than suicide: agnipravesa offering of the body to fire, prayopravesa offering
of the body to air, and samadhi offering of the body to the earth. These ascetic religious practices
can only be carried out when a person has reached a high level of spirituality and has no

Counseling Family Confidentiality
Chapter 10: Counseling Families and Groups Counseling families can be difficult to enforce
confidentiality that can be difficult t o make obligatory in group settings. Therefore, counselors
should make extra efforts to ensure that group members understand the concept on how important
confidentiality is (Remley Herlihy, 2014, p.271). Chapter 10 provides information on developing
diversity and values in family and group counseling.
How is confidentiality different when counseling couples, families, or groups, as opposed to
counseling an individual client? According to the text book, confidentiality is different with
couples and families due to privileged communication. When dealing with married couples, there
are situations where stressful topics are discussed between the husband and the wife and later on a
divorce may occur. One of the spouses may want a counselor to repeat confidential information in a
legal court about the other spouse during their counseling sessions, whereas, the other spouse wants
to keep her information enclosed ( Remley Herlihy, 2014, p.256).When counseling an individual
client, the client is the only person that the counselor have to obligate to when ensuring

The Motif of Ernest HemingwayВґs A Farewell to Arms
The world contains many recurring events that remind humans of morals or things that are
important. In the novel A Farewell to Arms many events come again and again. Usually, these
events that repeat or come again have a deeper message inscribed in the text. This is not unlike
whereas the novel The Great Gatsby has weather that unfailingly matches up with the tone and

The Decline Of British Bees
The Decline of British Bees There are over 1500 insect species that are thought to help with
pollination in the UK. Virtually any insect that visits flowers can carry out pollination. This
includes the best known, the bees along with butterflies, hoverflies, a few beetles and moths. Bees
are a massive component in ecological systems with 78 94% of wild plant species and 75% of crop
species pollinated by animals and provide important social and economic aids to humans through
crop pollination and maintaining the biodiversity and character of the British landscape. It is
generally accepted that pollinator figures are in deterioration. Most Garden plants and agricultural
/horticultural crops rely on bees to bring about fertilisation by transferring pollen from the flowers
anthers to the stigmas. These include most tree and soft fruits, and many vegetables including
marrows, courgettes runner beans, tomatoes and broad beans, Allowing the decline of pollinators

Government Dishonesty In The United States
The history of the United States is one of mixed virtue. We have a republican form of
government in which congressmen are directly elected by the people and the president is
indirectly elected by the people. We also have a higher standard of living than many nations. But
this does not make our history a cleanly pristine one considering the institution of slavery, a lack
of civil rights for minorities, and the denial of women s suffrage, that were once a part of this
nation s existence. In defense, America has worked to right the aforesaid wrongs in order build a
better nation. This is the positive direction that we have historically gone in, but more can be done.
Governmental dishonesty is a problem that has notably occurred in the last few decades. Watergate,
the Iran Contra Affair, No new taxes empty promises, Clinton s Lewinski Affair, and some of the
faulty evidence used to justify the 2003 Iraq War, should set off an alarm in the American people
convincing them that something needs to be done in order to curb governmental dishonesty. But
how can we require officials to be honest with the people when there is a right to free speech

evolution of the Nigerian federation.
Revenue allocation or the statutory distribution of revenue from the Federation Account among the

(e) Principle of Fiscal Equalization: In order to ensure a minimum level of public goods and
services same degree of fiscal equalization is required. This is as a result of differences in resource
endowment.
(f) The Efficiency Principle: This principle implies that efficiency must be applied in the allocation
of resources
(g) The Principle of Derivation: The component units of a system should be able to control some of
its own resources as they desire.
(h) The Principle of Locational Neutrality: Interregional fiscal differences tend to influence location
choices of individuals and firms. Therefore, policy should focus on minimizing distortions due to
some interference. Hence, differential taxes which create locational distortions should be avoided
as much as practicable.
(i) The Principle of Centralized Redistribution: This principle states that the redistribution function
of fiscal policy through progressive taxation and expenditure programmes should be centralized at
the federal level. That is, if the redistributive function is decentralized, it can result in distortions in

Because of the time zones, the Indian employees had excessively long days from 6:30 to 22:00.
As a result, they had little time at home with family. Moreover, Ashok revealed that they were
dissatisfied t hey are only conducted in customer maintenance work and other teams get the
interesting work in innovation process. Also, the I ndian team was looked down by others who they
were incompetent.
2.1.2 France and the US
There is a compensation mismatch a mong the French and the US teams. The French team
complains that they were less pay than the American coworkers by 30%. The American team
dissatisfied they had less vacation and more workloads than the French teammates as France had
strict labour laws. James had explained to his team that they had to accept the country based
benefits differences but both teams felt dissatisfied.
2.1.3 The UAE
The team members feared they would be deemed incompetent because they had consistently missed
deadlines. However, this ha ppen not because of their incompetent. In the Middle East, their culture
required extensive and time consuming in building relationship before contracts and commitments

Swot Analysis Of Grandma s Strengths And Weaknesses
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
Strengths
Grandma s Best has many strengths, one of which is supplier diversity. This diversity provides
multiple procurement channels for goods and services. Obtaining a large catalog of suppliers
create scenarios that involve multiple suppliers that compete for Grandma s business. In doing
this Grandma s reduces the overall cost of the product/service. This drives competition between
suppliers, which increases the bottom dollar for the company and ensures that Grandma s is not
over reliant on any one supplier. The relationship that the company has with the brokers is a key
asset, these brokers have the capability of being able to expand on the existing channels of
distribution. The fact that Grandma s Best is financially stable is another positive for the firm.
The company s financial performance and profitability are solid, as production capabilities have
expanded with increased sales creating positive net income. There was an increase in net income
of 112.8% from the previous year, an indication of good financial profitability. Although Grandma s
Best owns a very low market share (.05%), it has seen great compound annual growth for the past
three years of 4.62%, which is better than the average United States confectionery market.
Weaknesses
There are a few weaknesses we identified: no vision or mission statement, underutilized website,
lack of capacity and lack of technology and information systems. According to Ceil Wloczewski of
Cella Consulting, mission, vision and values statements are crucial to communicating the who,
what and why for your organization to corporate management, team members and to the users of
your services. It s not enough to feel passionate about the products and services your organization
offers, you and your entire team also have to consciously understand the framework of what drives
the organization. This is essential in order to effectively communicate those drivers to a diverse
group of people. (http://www.cellaconsulting.com/blog/three things you cant do without mission
vision and values statements/) In today s society social media and a strong online presence can be
key factors in the growth of a company, Grandma s Best is lacking in this area.

Case Study Of Ronald Harry Coase
Ronald Harry Coase
Ronald Harry Coase (29.12.1910 02.09.2013), was a famous British Economist and author. The
main part of his live, he was a professor at the University of Law School in Chicago. He started
studying with the University of London External Programme in 1927. After, he entered the
London School of Economics. Coase believed that economists should study real markets and not
only markets in theory. Besides, he established the case for the corporation as a means to pay the
costs of operating a marketplace. He is most famous for two articles: The Nature of the Firm
(1937), where he provides a solution to the question: Why do firms exists and introduces the
concept of transaction costs, and The Problem of Social Cost (1960), ... Show more content on

Mease offered an example with honey bees, in which he tried to explain the externality problem,
where in his opinion; the Coase Theorem does not provide a practical solution. When bees graze
on the flowers of various crops, neighbouring farmers benefit the beekeepers in that area.
However, when the farmers do not benefit themselves; they have a low incentive to grow nectar
rich crops. Meade argued that since bees are assumed not respecting property rights or keep
contracts, there is no practical way of applying the Coase Theorem. Either the farmers must be
subsidized or the inefficiency of joint production of crops and honey must be accepted. (Meade,
1952) Important note is that Meade wrote this article before the article of Coase was published,
so not in a response. In two later articles, supports of Coase demonstrated that the criticism of
Meade was wrong. They showed that contracts between beekeepers and farmers had been
common practise in the industry already. (Friedman, n.d.) Even though the Coase Theorem solves
this practical problem, the assumption that it will solve all problems cannot be made. However, it
does imply that it may provide a solution to a wider scope of problems that at first guess were

Early legislation was enacted between 1894 and 1936; tax exempt regulations during this time developed around three principles: First, organizations that operated for charitable purposes were granted exemption from the Federal income tax. Second, charitable organizations were required to be free of private inurement. Finally, an income tax deduction for contributions designed to encourage charitable giving, was developed. One of the first tax exempt regulations was the Wilson Gorman Tariff Act of 1894. While Bundren has been painting and displaying his artwork for quite some time (his first gallery was in the mid 1990s!), Hodgepodge contains paintings only from 2013 2016. All of the artwork shows great precision and attention to detail. The colors are vibrant and rich. That is not to say the colors were bright or cheerful (only one paintingwas particularly bright ), but the colors were all pure and distinct. Most of the paintings, in my opinion, would fit under the umbrella of surrealism. Walking into the gallery immediately starts to produce feelings of unease and perhaps feelings of being threatened. The individual objects in the paintings are very realistic but mashed together in unnatural ways. Only one painting, J.V. s Thunderbird , felt calm ; it did not cause me to personally feel discomfort, even though it was not peaceful. In politics this is commonly achieved using different methods among which are the assignment of agenda power to an individual, the elimination of defeated alternatives from the vote and the limitation of voting rounds. Individuals having the power of making such choices can actively influence the results of the elections and have their most preferred outcome implemented. Another popular approach consists of restricting the application of the voting system to a specific type of individual preferences denoted as single peaked , characterized by the presence of a most preferred alternative for each individual. Research has consistently shown that children who are exposed to reading or who read regularly gather long term benefits such as better academic performance, a mastery of language, better communication skills and more logical thinking, Nevertheless many parents struggle with generating ideas to encourage or motivate their children to read. Private businesses in Iraq must choose between seeking to become a legal enterprise, which due to regulatory hostility is a difficult and expensive process, or operating in the underground economy with all of the associated inefficiencies. One characteristic common to both options is the necessity of paying bribes to a long line of corrupt officials. LCCs are still a relatively new phenomenon in Australia since Virgin Blue and Jetstar came to the market. There are over 30 LCCs have been launched since 2002 worldwide. In fact, LCCs have been very successful in the USA and Europe since 1990s. For example, in 1994 less than 3 million passengers flew on LCCs. Today, Southwest Airlinesoperates more than 3,100 daily flights to 62 cities across the United States, and registers yearly more than 80 million passengers. What began as a small Texas airline, Southwest now has grown to become one of the largest airlines in the United States1. European history of low cost airlines is much younger, but those airlines are for sure trendsetters of the 1990s. The expansion of LCCs in Europe coincided with the final deregulation of the market during the 1990s. Genuine lowcost operations began in Great Britain in the 1990s with the Irish company Ryanair (founded in 1985 and started operating flights in 1986), which was patterned on American Southwest Airlines. Following Great Britain, LCCs have successfully developed on the Continent (Grotte, 2005). In the year 2005, there are 60 low cost airlines operating in Europe2. Prior to 2002, there were no significant low cost scheduled carriers operating in the Asia Pacific rim. The initial slow development was in part due to the perception that the low cost model adopted in the United States and Europe could not be replicated in Asia, because of the longer aircraft stage lengths, lack of secondary airports and regulatory restrictions preventing access to international markets. The careful planning of his complex at Giza extended from the Great Pyramid itself to the satellite cemeteries that would eventually hold the members of his family and his administration. It is in this temporal and geographic space that a puzzling find, unique to the Pyramid Age, appeared. This term has since been commonly adopted to refer to the heads as they have been the subjects of articles, lectures, and one very complete study by Roland Tefnin. While many musings and theories have been put forth to explain the presence and purpose of the heads, no previous work has attempted to combine the archaeological contexts with objective descriptions of the heads themselves. Tefnin s work is impressive in its detail, yet he spends little time discussing the archaeological context beyond general geographic position. Reisner and Junker, who excavated the majority of the tombs containing reserve heads, published the heads with their context. Nevertheless, neither included the heads or contexts excavated by the other. Luckily, the methodologies employed by both Reisner and Junker were ahead of their time. Thanks to their careful publication, it is possible, at least to some degree, to discuss the contexts with confidence. With the publications of the other excavators, the situation is not as auspicious. Similarly, the heads themselves are often described in romanticized terms meant to capture the character of the person portrayed. Even more recent scholarship frequently generalizes about the features extant on the heads. This subjective, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to the free dictionary, performance enhancing drugs is defined as Any drug used to gain an advantage in sports. Such drugs may improve endurance or strength or accelerate healing after injury . Performance enhancing drugs was first acknowledged as a problem in professional sports in 1967 when the international Olympic committee created a medical board due to the heightened use. Today there are seven types of performance enhancers including: stimulants, narcotics, anabolic androgenic steroids, beta 2 agonists, peptide hormones, diuretics, blood doping. That number might seem small but there is a massive amount of variety within these drugs that is causing more and more athletes every year to use them. Performance enhancing drugs should be illegal because of the unfair advantage, health risks, and the lack of role models that athletes would play. Sports have been around since the beginning of time. As the games age and become more popular, they start to evolve and become more competitive at the same time. This evolution comes from better strategies, techniques, and ultimately the athletes themselves. The contention of the Authors is that there is an inherent flaw in the mechanism of criminalizing an attempt to suicide, the reasons for which are dealt with below. A.ARGUING THE QUOTIENT OF MORALITY Christianity puts an absolute prohibition over the attempt to suicide by mortal beings. Suicide is directly contrary to the will of God, and finds origin in the realm of the demonic host, who come only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. Similarly, Hindu scriptures also portray the attempt of suicide to be against the will of God and therefore, immoral. Sati, the outlawed practice of a widow joining her dead husband on the funeral pyre, could also be seen as suicide, but the cultural and social issues here are somewhat different. This diversity provides multiple procurement channels for goods and services. Obtaining a large catalog of suppliers create scenarios that involve multiple suppliers that compete for Grandma s business. In doing this Grandma s reduces the overall cost of the product/service. This drives competition between suppliers, which increases the bottom dollar for the company and ensures that Grandma s is not over reliant on any one supplier. The relationship that the company has with the brokers is a key asset, these brokers have the capability of being able to expand on the existing channels of distribution. The fact that Grandma s Best is financially stable is another positive for the firm. The company s financial performance and profitability are solid, as production capabilities have expanded with increased sales creating positive net income. There was an increase in net income of 112.8% from the previous year, an indication of good financial profitability. When bees graze on the flowers of various crops, neighbouring farmers benefit the beekeepers in that area. However, when the farmers do not benefit themselves; they have a low incentive to grow nectar rich crops. Meade argued that since bees are assumed not respecting property rights or keep contracts, there is no practical way of applying the Coase Theorem. Either the farmers must be subsidized or the inefficiency of joint production of crops and honey must be accepted. (Meade, 1952) Important note is that Meade wrote this article before the article of Coase was published, so not in a response. In two later articles, supports of Coase demonstrated that the criticism of Meade was wrong. They showed that contracts between beekeepers and farmers had been common practise in the industry already. (Friedman, n.d.) Even though the Coase Theorem solves this practical problem, the assumption that it will solve all problems cannot be made. However, it does imply that it may provide a solution to a wider scope of problems that at first guess were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
