Reflection On Bilingual Education
On Thursday, June 22nd, I observed a writing class at Sherman High School at the Perrin Field
location. The instructor, Catherine Cunningham, granted me permission to observe her Writing
Class which meets M/W/F from 9:00am 3:00pm during the summer timeframe. Since I currently
not do not have any teaching experience in the classroom yet, this was an opportunity to observe
how an experience teacher of 25 plus years conducted her class.
Before going into detail about this particular class, it s important to review Sherman ISD s ESL
Services overall goals. Today s English language learners will dramatically impact the future of our
nation. All limited English proficient students must acquire the English skills necessary for
academic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The population of English learners (ELs) is increasing dramatically and teachers need to learn how
to advocate for these often marginalized students. As Darling Hammond suggests, such courses
give teachers the ability to see beyond one s own perspective and to put oneself into the shoes of
the shoes of the learner (Darling Hammond, 2000).
The English as a Second Language (ESL) program, which the class I observed is a part of,
targeted students who wish to expand their English for communication, study, or pleasure. English
Language Learners (ELL) students include sophomores, junior and senior s high school students
and there are six levels of instruction, from mid beginning to advanced. Classes have an average
of 11 or 12 students and there are four main focuses in the ELL Courses: listening speaking,
reading discussion, writing, and grammar idioms. As far as admissions to the class, it is
recommended that a student knows at least some English vocabulary before enrolling.
As far as the instructor s overall goals for the class, she has many. She strives for her students to
improve their writing fluency, writing accuracy, the ability to use the writing process as a writing
tool, the ability to use English sentence structure, the ability to write unified, coherent, and
developed paragraphs, the ability to use a word processor and to expand vocabulary. A couple
focuses in the class, as noted in her session plan which

Compare And Contrast To Build A Fire And Into The Wild
The Newcomer in the short story To Build a Fire by Jack London and Chris McCandless in the film
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer both embark on an exciting and exhilarating journey through the
Alaskan wilderness. As the two characters progress through their expeditions, Chris McCandless
and The Newcomer exhibit many similar and differing traits. Bravery, determination, and
independence are traits that both The Newcomer and Chris McCandless display throughout their
journey; however, the two main characters differ in kindness, creativity, and intelligence.
Firstly, Chris McCandless and The Newcomer both exhibit determination, bravery, and
independence as the two begin to face obstacles in their journeys across the Alaskan wilderness.

Furthermore, McCandless burns his money, donates his life savings to charity, and abandons
his car because he is determined to destroy all aspects of his past life. Chris desires to start a new
life because he is trying to escape a world filled with materialism and the false security of his
parents wealth. Similarly, The Newcomer exhibits a strong sense of determination in his
adventures as he continues to fight for his life after [he breaks] through (71) the ice and begins to
freeze to death. Additionally, The Newcomer is determined to build a second fire despite the
snow [falling] without warning upon (73) the man s first attempt at building a fire to thaw his feet.
Apart from determination, Chris McCandless exhibits bravery throughout his travels as he
deliberately places himself in uncomfortable or dangerous circumstances. For example, Chris
chooses to overcome his fear of the ocean, in an act of bravery, by plunging into the waves.
Additionally, Chris continues to demonstrate bravery and assurance in his self sustainability as he
trudges into the rough Alaskan terrain with little else but a rifle, a journal, a camera, and a large
bag of rice. In the same manner, The Newcomer exhibits bravery as he

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Malaysian Judicial System
Law is a set of rules. Law can be utilized to anyone and is to restrict the human. The Malaysian
Judicial System is based on the English legal system which succeeded by the history of the
British. Malaysian Judicial System set for the cases like criminal and civil litigation. Litigation is
a court process of starting and sustain or protecting a legal action. The Malaysian court system
have both criminal and civil jurisdiction. They have power and have to be responsibility to hear
certain cases. The court was constituted by statute under Part IX of the Constitution. The higher
court will hear and make decision on the more important or serious cases. The Malaysia judicial
power is fixed in the hierarchy of courts which have Superior Courts, Subordinate... Show more

The advantages are certainty, practicality and flexibility. Certainty is one of the greatest advantages
of the doctrine. The people can aim their actions with faith with the results in greater certainty. For
the practicality, the law evolved was ground on reality instead of theoretical conditions. With there
is still an adaptability that the judges can prevent from following previous cases if it had been
settled incaution or by distinguishing precedents while the higher courts restrict the lower courts
with its decision. The first disadvantages of doctrine of binding judicial precedent is rigidity. A
lower courts must follow a prior precedent even it is wrong and also the cases may not go on for
appeal to a higher court. The chances of amending the previous result may be lost and the judges
must give a good reason for denying the previous precedents. The other disadvantages is hard to
determine the ratio decidendi as there may be more than one ratio decidendi. So, this makes the
judges very difficult to discover the right ratio decidendi. In the cases Rickards v Lothian (1913),
the judges give more than one ratio decidendi. There is hundreds of judgement are made every year.
The massive and rising of number in cases become a main problem with the doctrine and the
complexity of the law. This let the important authority unintentionally be

Biological Differences
1.Why is it so attractive to accept biological explanations concerning differences? Social scientist
find it attractive to accept biological explanation concerning differences because, first biological
explanations have the ring of true science to them: Because their theories are based on objective
scientific facts, the arguments of natural scientists are extraordinary persuasive (Kimmel 20). The
second biological explanations seem to accord with our own observations: Women and men seem
too different to us most of the time (Kimmel 20). For example, women are more emotional
therefore they seem to love chick flicks because of the meanings and actions of love, meanwhile
men are more aggressive so they prefer to watch action movies. Lastly the third biological
explanation would be that there s also a certain conceptual tininess to biological explanations,
because the social arrangements between women and men seem to stem directly and inevitably
from the differences between us (Kimmel 20).
2.What are the three primary arenas of research that are used to explain biological differences
between men and women?
The three primary arenas of research to explain biological differences between men and women are
is the evolutionary theory, brain research, and endocrinological research. The evolutionary
psychology declares an ability to explain psychological differences between women and men
through their evolutionary trajectories (Kimmel 24). Therefore, women and man have not change

Dido s Farewell
The poem, Dido s Farewell by Lina Pastan, dramatizes the conflict between Dido and her
depression after Aeneas leaves Carthage. The character Dido is the ancient Phoenician queen who
founded Carthage but killed herself after the love of her life, Aeneas, left her to follow his destiny
as the founder of Rome. The author presents the conflict by speaking metaphorically as Dido, using
her as an outlet, which is evident throughout the poem as the author uses the first person
perspective but with modern contraptions. The author starts by speaking about how the rain is
chronic at [her] window (1 2), painting the image that her sadness, which is typically presented by
rain, is persistent. Continuing, the author speaks about how the candles in Dido s room are
[drowning] in their own wax. This implies the candles have been in use for a prolonged amount of
time, which would mean that Dido hasn t left the room during that time. This personification of the
candles represents how she is drowning in her own tears and sadness such as the candles are
drowning in their own wax.
The next sentence, Abandoned by light, even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here the author continues about how Dido feels awkward in her own home, a nomad in [her]
own house (16 17). This is a paradox, a self contradictory statement that is seemingly absurd. The
author states that she is a nomad, who, by definition, is someone with no fixed home. This
contradicts itself because Dido is a nomad in [her] own house, (16 17) someone with a fixed
home is saying that they are someone without a fixed home. Line eighteen shows that her heart
[is] knocking, (18) and later on it is knocking to be let out. Here perhaps, the author is trying to
say that Dido isn t comfortable in her own skin and mind. Literally, she is saying nomad in my
own house, (16 17) as in the architectural house, but metaphorically she is saying that she is not
comfortable in her own

Urinary stones, as known as Nephrolithiasis, a common disease that affects 1 in 10 Australians. The
most of stones pass spontaneously, but some conditions, particularly ongoing pain, renal
impairment and infection, mandate intervention (Macneil Bariol, 2011). The formation of urinary
stone is the calcium and uric get stuck together in the urine and becomes hard crystals. It can be
small as the grain of sand or large as a golf ball (Health line, N.D). Patient whom has urinary stone
will feel ongoing pain that as known as renal colic, when those stones become big enough. Renal

The advantages of EOQ models are as follows
1 minimizes holding cost Storing inventory is an expensive process for any business . The main
advantage of this model is that it helps in decreasing the storage or holding cost of goods by
getting at the optimum inventory level . If the holding costs are high in a firm then that firm may
point to more orders of few items to reduce the cost
2 minimizes ordering cost the aim of any firm is to minimize costs and the ordering costs are no
exception . The EOQ model helps in reducing the ordering costs by placing less orders in a year but
of more items .
3 Ease of operations EOQ does not only provide information about the optimum amount of
inventory to be ordered but it also helps in providing information such as the reorder level , lead
time and the amount of safety stock to hold . All these information help in running the business
efficiently and minimizing the

Religion And Sociological Analysis
Religion has been a major component of sociological thought from the classical theorists to post
modern sociologists. How society functions and is held together and what connections are fostered
by religion has been studied using a scientific outlook on how to accurately interpret and gain an
understanding how religion fits in with the social world. The sociologyof religion largely differs
from theology in assuming indifference to the supernatural, theorists tend to accept socio cultural
reification of religious practice (Wikipedia1 2017). I will be trying to make a connection between

Thoreau examined how we were emotionally related, how we fit into the natural world and, to
some degree, how humanity could continue to live in the natural world, a nonconformist he
also promoted a simpler way to look at the natural social world that was elaborated on in his
work Walden (Viens 2012). Alcott was a transcendentalist, abolitionist and a radical reformist of
American society, as well as a supporter of women s rights (Wikipedia2 2017). Because Alcott
dismissed and criticized traditional religious and economic institutions one can assume that he
witnessed his own social alienation which only strengthened his views on social reform and the
abolition of slavery. Charles Loring Brace published The Races of the Old World, a work of
ethnography meant to demonstrate, among other things, that blacks were not radically different
from the other families of man or even mentally inferior to them (PRI 2017). But, Fuller shows,
Brace could not envision living in a biracial society; Blacks, he claimed, were permanently adapted
to warm climates and therefore should remain in the South after slavery ended (Fonner 2017). As

Wine Purchasing And Hospitality Industry Essay
Wine Purchasing

Wine Purchasing in Hospitality The Hospitality Industry is a vast field that includes everything
related to food, beverage, lodging, travel, and entertainment. All these different parts are all
focussed on one thing, and that is creating excellent guests experiences. There are many working
parts to accomplish this goal. Two parts that every single business deals with, is either the
procurement (purchasing of goods), or the supplying of goods. Alcoholic beverages, and more
specifically wine, are very important hospitality industry because of their prominence in societal
culture. People come together and share experiences over drinks in many occasions; from dates
to business dinners to special events to sporting events to even family occasions. Bonding over
a good meal and the perfect glass of wine is an age old tradition. People will go through lengths
to purchase certain brands, and vintages, at a wide variety of costs. From production, to
distribution, to retail, there are numerous steps along the way, all needing trained professionals of
various skill levels. After learning about a day in the life of a wine broker/distributor at the

specialist at the successful local business, North End, it s easy to see that the wine industry goes

General Motors Financial Ratios
General Motors Financial Ratio Analysis
I. General Motors History Highlights
In its early years the automobile industry consisted of hundreds of firms, each producing a few
models. William Durant, who bought and reorganized a failing
Buick Motors in 1904, determined that if several automobile makers would unite, it would increase
the protection for the group. He formed the General Motors
Company in Flint, Michigan, in 1908.
Durant had bought 17 companies (including Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and Pontiac) by
1910, the year a bankers syndicate forced him to step down. In a 1915 stock swap, he regained
control through Chevrolet, a company he had formed with race car driver Louis Chevrolet. GM

In 1996 the United Auto Workers struck at 2 GM plants in Ohio over the company s increasing its
outsourcing of brake parts. The strike lasted 17 days, idling 24 of the automaker s 29 North
American plants (reflecting the vulnerability of just in time supply chains), and ended with neither
side satisfied.
GM sued Volkswagen in 1996, alleging the German automaker encouraged former GM executive
Ignacio Lopez to defect to Volkswagen with boxes of proprietary company information. The bitter
dispute led to Lopez s resignation from
Volkswagen and was resolved in early 1997 when VW agreed to pay GM $100 million and
purchase $1 billion of parts from GM over 7 years. In 1996 GM spun off EDS
(with a market value of $27 billion) to shareholders. Also that year GM agreed to sell 4 of its parts

Joseph Littlejohn Levy) for an undisclosed amount. In late 1996 GM began producing Chevrolet

Impulsive, Irresponsible, Or Just Plain Essay
Some would consider Max impulsive, irresponsible, or just plain serendipitous because he loved to
shower his family with unexpected surprises. He hid candy in his overcoat pockets; when he
arrived home from work, the seven took turns guessing which pocket held the treats. The ultimate
serendipitous occasion occurred when he surprised them with the news they were getting a five
foot deep, twenty two foot wide, above ground swimming pool. Only one other house in the
neighborhood had an above ground pool, so that added to the element of surprise. They felt like
they were the richest family in the world.
Sitting on the sidewalk that ran along the sliding glass door, just off the kitchen facing the
backyard, all seven children sat like ducks in a row, watching the assembly of their new treasure.
Max and Hanna, along with Uncle John, walked all over the yard trying to decide the best place to
put the pool. Agreeing on the far right corner of the backyard, the swing set that kept them occupied

The Right And The Good Hobbes S Theory On Moral...
Dale Campbell
Prof Cummins/Phi 358
THE RIGHT AND THE GOOD IN HOBBES S THEORY ON MORAL PHILOSOPHY Mr.
Hobbes s Leviathan is one of the many outstanding philosophers that wrote books on moral
philosophy and their meaning. Hobbes explains in a clear and engaging manner that makes his
Statement thesis clear from the start: Man can be a self interested animal, and that this self interest
is enough to create a justified and obligatory ways of justice, citizenship, and morality. He mentions
in his thesis right from the beginning and is the basis for his theory that all things dealing with
ethical thinking one general thought generate the answer; that is the reason for accepting self
interest of all mankind. Even though his theory sounds like the perfect society in which a
person is looking out for everyone, I believe that this theory attempts to define and in turn reduce
our general concept of morality into the simplest form of self interest. No matter how this
argument is formed, there is a group of ethical actions in which the morality is true, but the
consequences are false. In most cases where the self interest of a person in the society is in
contradiction. In this paper I will explain a class of people that I will refer to as Jamaican
freeloaders. Jamaican Freeloaders are the populace in Jamaican culture who use other people also
who try to get something for nothing. They get it by any means possible and freely. I will show

Taking a Look at Filibusters
Filibusters are quite the conundrum, a pariah of sorts in the realm of U.S. politics, yet an
integral part of our body of government. It is imperative that it remains to be kept alive in a
warm embrace with the Senate, lest it is reduced to nothing more than a mere accessory to the
House of Representatives. By nature, the filibuster is actually a resourceful tactic that utilizes the
ideology of free speech to prolong and create an active dialog over legislation or to prevent a
measure from being brought to a vote. However, in recent years the most unsettling adversity
contemporary legislation faces is Rule XXII of the U.S. Senate. Forty one senators can veto the
lion s share of legislation by refusal of invoking cloture(sixty being the magic number). Due to the
malapportionment of the Senate, less than forty one percent of the population could be over
represented, resulting in a conflicting vote against cloture sustaining debate indefinitely. The idea
of a three fifths vote is being required for most Senate action can be seen as a modern day
thunderstorm that overcasts democratic self government. The tradition of limitless debate in the
Senate needs a bit of a review (perhaps a judicial one), as a refusal to vote for cloture should
result in a suspension rather than an absolute veto. Simply put, forty one senators should have the
ability to place an extended debate on bills or nominations for a period not to exceed a year
beginning from the time they reach the floor.

When competitors offer a lower price, it will enhance the possibility of the customer changing the
purchase behavior (Wathne et al., 2001), and also undermine the consumer s consumption inertia
for the original company. The study found that there are three issues existing in the studies of
customer purchasing behavior in the fast food industry: (1) Why can consumers rapidly return in
such a short period of time after a fast food industry negative news outbreak, or even not be
impacted at all. Therefore, regarding the factors that impact customer loyalty in the fast food
industry, in addition to customer satisfaction, are there any other important impact factors? (2) The
fast food industry is different from the general food retailer. It has the characteristics of being rapid,
convenient, and having a low price; however, the commonly seen customer satisfaction model (e.g.
American Customer Satisfaction Index; European Customer
Customer Satisfaction Index) cannot really present these characteristics. (3) Inertial behavior exists
in the food purchasing behavior (Carrasco et al., 2005). However, there have been no scholars who
have applied it to explore the relation between customer satisfaction and loyalty in the fast food
industry. It can be seen that there is an important study gap that exists in the exploration of

The main limitation and drawback in our study was that our results were compared to biopsy
proven Gleason score not to post prostatectomy pathological results as only one of our patient
underwent radical prostatectomy and rest of patients are non compatible to surgery either due to
metastasis, old age or patient refusal.
Second, our study are small (n =11) and ADC values correlation to biopsy proven Gleason score
was done using only 66 core biopsy result, So larger studies are necessary to better assess our
results.
We recommend in later studies to use larger samples and compare the DWI ADC results to post
prostatectomy pathological results so we can correlate the results to accurate Gleason score and
even detect central gland carcinoma pathologically to compare with DWI MRI results.
In conclusion our results prove high p values for correlating mean ADC value to Gleason score
and median ADC values can be used as non invasive grading method for prostate cancer.

What I Learned When Evaluating My School
When I evaluate my school year, many things come to mind. I ponder about all my friends, too. I
think about the highs, lows, and the emotional times with my closest friends. I also as well, think
about how I have grown. My 7th grade year at CMS was full of concepts learned, memorable
experiences, and my personal growth. The concepts that I learned helped me grow throughout
the year. One concept was Philosophical Chairs, from my AVID class. It showed me how to
compose a good debate on a subject of your choice. You should always have a straight statement
and at least a couple facts and people to support your discussion on the subject of your choice.
Another concept that I learned was Video Production. By teaching us this we learned how to
follow directions and produce and direct a great video. You always need to be involved in this
type of assignment. One more concept that I learned was about the Salt and Gold trade in history.
In these times back then gold was a very important material that everyone wanted and it became a
monumental time and part of West African history. All of these learning techniques and skills will
definitely help me move on in my career.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

constructed article, Manrique keeps his audience in mind by providing exceptionally detailed
experiences that he had on his journey. He is able to portray his journey as if the reader were

Health Care Barriers
As health care providers, we have seen a lot of patients come to the emergency with very serious
infection or after 5 days of abdominal pain. We always encourage patients to seek medical care

There are many reasons that prevent the patients from seeking health care. The main reason may
be that a lot of people are lack of health insurance. Financial problem in a huge barrier while
health care fees are so expensive. Most of patients have no insurance will not take health care or

The next barrier is that immigrant patients are not only lack of health insurance, they also have a

also scare of the sound of the equipment such as dental care equipment. Sometimes, the barrier is

How Corporate Scandals Crush the Company, Investors, and...
Tracing back the history of accounting scandals, major corporate scandals not only hurt the

Analysis Of Lucy By Jamaica Kincaid
In Lucy, Jamaica Kincaid explores the disillusionment faced by the eponymous character upon
immigrating to the United States. The novel s style of narration allows Lucy s thoughts and
emotions to remain hidden. Despite this intense privacy, Lucy s disillusionment is clear. She had
hoped that moving around the globe would solve her problems but she still struggles with
homesickness and her relationship with her mother. Her move is disappointing. The erasure poem
And Coldest also engages disillusionment. The poem suggests the speaker has become disillusioned
by observing the world, and indicates their plan to be shut tight. The poem inspired me to consider
the causes of Lucy s disillusionment, and her failure to address her own emotions. As a recent
immigrant, the causes of Lucy s disillusionment are somewhat obvious. More enigmatic is her self
avoidant, shut tight attitude. In this paper, I argue that Lucy s disillusionment causes her to avoid
the discomfort that comes with self reflection.
Lucy s experience in the United States is dissatisfactory from the moment of her arrival onwards.
She describes her first night as gray black and cold and notes that no one told her January would
be cold (Kincaid 3 5). This comment marks the intensity of Lucy s transition. And Coldest, too,
opens with an unforgiving winter. The first lines, cold, and coldest, reflect not only the season but
Lucy s experience of it she has never experienced a night so cold. The unfamiliar season

Molecular And Biochemical Genetic Studies On Rice...
Title: Molecular and Biochemical Genetic Studies on Rice Blast Disease.
1 Summary:
Background: Rice (Oryza sativa, L.) is one of the strategic crops in Egypt, and improvement of its
productivity is an essential requirement to ensure food security. Rice blast is one of the most
important diseases of rice causing an average yield loss of 30 50% annually in rice growing areas
of the world. Many resistant rice cultivars are short lived after deployment because of the highly
variation in Magnaporthe oryzae population, due to a high level of genomic instability of the
pathogen. So that, the rice breeders trying to overcome this problem by developing resistant
varieties by genetic approaches to maintain sustainability of rice production.
Proposed Research: The aim of the current study is to study the rice blast mechanisms at molecular,
biochemical and physiological levels in some rice genotypes.
Methodology: (1) Some selected rice genotypes will be evaluated for blast resistance in seedling
stage under greenhouse condition. (2) Identification of rice blast resistance gene(s) in the
genotypes. (3) Determination of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO)
activities and the malondialdehyde (MDA) content in leaves of tested genotypes before and after
8 days from inoculation date with Pyricularia oryzae. (4) Quantitative real time PCR (qRT PCR)
analysis will be carried out to identify the most responsive rice blast resistance gene(s) in the
genotypes. (5) For

Analysis Of Ben Jonson s Of An Age, But For All Time
Ben Jonson wrote Shakespeare was not of an age, but for all time, representing how 21st century
ideas and themes can be connected back to the time when 1 Henry IV was written. One
contemporary issue displayed in the play is a phenomenon known as helicopter parenting.
According to Webster s Dictionary, a helicopter parent is when a parent is very involved in a
child s life. Parents will often put expectations on their children to achieve certain dreams
parents have of their kids. Thus, putting a tremendous amount of anxiety and stress on their
children. This idea is demonstrated throughout the play between King Henry and Prince Hal.
King Henry expects his son to act a certain way, to take his role in the kingdom seriously and be
focused on the kingdom and the duties he serves to the kingdom. Looking at two examples from
the text, one can identify the transformation of the test to 21st century problem of parents
pressuring kids to attend college or act a certain way. Throughout the play King Henry would
like his son, Prince Hal, to act a certain way. The King wants Prince Hal to act royal and
responsible, like Hotspur. Instead, Prince Hal decides to act out and represent immature behavior
with his sidekick Falstaff. King Henry states, See riot and dishonor stain the brow of my young
Harry. O, that it could be proved that some night tripping fairy had exchanged in cradle clothes our
children where they lay, and called mine Percy, his Plantagenet! (I, I, 87 89). The King

Technological Evolution in the Film Industry Essay
As times are changing, knowledge and information are also changing. With that, the development
of motion picture complexity has changed the film industry by a continuing technological
evolution. It is evident that films have changed significantly over the last 100 years. The
intricacy of filmmaking technology has rapidly progressed, allowing creative potential for
filmmakers. Films are often due to technological advances, or even to reintroduce a classic story.
Some examples of films that have been remade include Scarface (1932), remade in 1983, and The
Magnificent Seven (1960), remade in 1998. King Kong (1933) is another example of a filmthat has
been remade. The remake, King Kong (2005), directed by Peter Jackson, shows technological...

The stop motion animation sequences were filmed separately from the live action scenes with the
actors. These two parts were then combined to create the illusion that the ape was towering over
the actors. In the 2005 remake of the film, director Peter Jackson relied on Computer Generated
Imagery (CGI) to animate Kong. This use of CGI gave the director greater artistic control of the
narrative. Many of the sets were computer generated, as well as Kong himself. To combine both
the actors and the computer generated images together, chroma keying was used. In the scene
where Ann Darrow is placed in the hand of Kong, the actress was filmed against a green screen,
and held by a large green hand. When this scene was merged with the digital Kong, a composite
image shows Kong holding her. Since chroma keying technology did not exist in the 1930 s, a full
sized, fur covered hand had to be constructed to create the effect of Kong holding the actor. The
difference between the visual effects in both versions is significant, making is apparent that the
remake has displayed great technological advancement. These advancements also make the film
more believable, and emphasise the story.
Another aspect of the film that had a significant impact was colour. In the original version of King
Kong, the film was shot in black and white. Sometimes there can be implications with interpreting
the emotions in the film. Colour in film is a huge

Marshall Peterson
Marshall Peterson and the owners of the Muscadine grape farm became acquaintances in the
Sunday school room of a church that Marshall s wife, Gloria, brought him to one Sunday morning.
Furthermore, Marshall is not a Christian, however, he is the owner of a local health food products
business. In addition, when Marshall engaged in conversation with the owners of the Muscadine
grapefarm, the owners mentioned to Marshall the benefits of the Muscadine grapes that they grow,
stating that they possess elevated antioxidant qualities. As a matter of fact, Marshall initiated
reoccurring business with the Muscadine grape farmers that elevated the profits of his local health
food products business. Although Marshall repeatedly paid the invoices past... Show more content

The Bible instructs God s children to turn the other cheek as seen in Matthew But I say unto
you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the
other also (5:39). Since the beginning of mankind, the teachings of Jesus Christ are deemed as
peculiar. As a matter of fact, God s children are to be set apart from the world, making them a
peculiar people. The act of forgiveness that the owners of the Muscadine grape farm desire to
bestow on Marshall Peterson fails to align with the laws of the human race but rather aligns with
the laws of God, which trump the laws of the land. However, the Muscadine grape farmers
propose that they meet with Marshall together with the preacher of their church to discuss the
future business proceedings of their business partnership in the guidance of God s Holy Word.
Furthermore, the counseling must transpire for a minimum of three months to guarantee that all
parties are in agreeance, as well as build a closer relationship with the Lord. Also, the Muscadine
grape farmers propose that a new contract is incorporated that suits the preferences of the
Muscadine grape farmers, as well as Marshall Peterson. Ultimately, the Muscadine grape owners
will continue to live for the Lord in order to demonstrate the love that lives inside them through
Jesus Christ. Since God s children are to be an example, a

Edward Bellamy Looking Backward
Looking Backward
The book Looking Backward was written by Edward Bellamy and published in the year 1888.
Bellamy started off his career as a journalist but then married and decided to devote his efforts to
writing fiction novels. Looking Backward was published and Bellamy was famous. The book
stirred around the country and had people imagining a world like the one Bellamy created in his
book. The idea of a utopia as the one he describes is unbelievable. His book is what people, of even
now in the twenty first century, wish the world could possible be like. However, Bellamy s world
of reasoning and judging of people based on the inner beliefs was not what people of then or now
do. Bellamy s book showed a world of rationality being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mr. West is surprised by how the society has turned out and the kindness he received from a
complete stranger. This stranger and doctor is the other main character Dr. Leete. Julian begins to
discuss the vast improvements among the half a century he has been asleep. Here Bellamy
begins to describe the utopia world that he has created. Julian is amazed to hear how the society
is equally prosperous and is worried and the society values common good among the society than
who has the most power. Within the next few chapters Dr. Leete and Julian stay up to talk and
answer questions that he may have. In these chapters Bellamy is using a comparison of the Julian s
old world to the utopia that he has just entered and what Bellamy is creating as reader s continue
with the story. Bellamy continues to explain further details of this utopia. For one Bellamy explains
how each makes the money equally within the state and than how the money is given to the state to
be equally distributed. Continuing on Bellamy describes a little how the society and state was run
back in the ninetieth century. He talks about man s place in the work field and all the other
responsibility that they carry out. Bellamy writes about each world a little at a time in order for the
reader to distinguish the differences of the ninetieth century and the twentieth century. As the
chapters progress and the story of the unimaginable world continues

Stereotypes In Gavin Degraw s One Tree Hill
What s the Hype About One Tree Hill?
Many young teenagers know the catchy tune of Gavin DeGraw s, I Don t Want to Be by heart
because of the popular TV show, One Tree Hill. First airing on September 23, 2003, One Tree
Hill is a fictional show that takes place in the quaint town of Tree Hill, North Carolina. The show
is about two young men who are half brothers Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott
(James Lafferty) but never really liked each other, until they were put on the same basketball team.
Slowly, the brothers grow to be best friends and the show works around the dynamic of their ever
growing relationship and the relationships of the people around them. One Tree Hill has four main
characters besides the brothers; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When watching the show you feel like you are actually there, living with them, feeling the same
emotions that they feel, going through the hardships with them. Every episode teaches a life
lesson in a subtle way, there is power in the dialogue, while still making it relatable and
interesting. Filled with love, anger, passion, and fortitude the show makes you fall in love with
each character a little at a time. At first glance, One Tree Hill seems like a cliche teenager show
that only airheads would be interested in, but it really is not. One Tree Hill is extremely thought
out and entrapping, it teaches teenagers life lessons by building each character into a role
model, even the ones that you thought had no heart. They do this mostly through the use of Dan
Scott, murderer of his own brother, but the lifesaver of his son Nathan. It can teach you that
nothing is as it seems and even the simplest of shows can have the biggest impact on a person s
life. The show has also taught me that the worst of people can overcome adversity and have a
change of heart before it is too late. One Tree Hill might just be a T.V. show, but too so many
people around the world it is a major part of their life, they look up to the characters, and believe in
the things that the show is

Medieval Terminology
The Mentally ill were a quiet but present existence in Medieval society. The Mentally disabled
were treated with leniency in courts and law codes. This is due to a perceived lack of
understanding between right and wrong, and also that they are already punished enough by their
illness. In this paper, the reason and background of the Medieval origins of the insanity defensewill
be discussed.
Legal Terminology of Differentiating between insanityand mental retardation was important in
medieval law codes. Idiocy was different than insanity in that it was thought to be a defect present
at birth difference between idiota and non compos mentis, both of whom the king was responsible
for, the former being the mentally retarded and the latter being ... Show more content on

Madness was thought to possibly be caused by severe emotional reaction. Remission letters
could be written by these offenders to explain this. Jealousy, anger, and grief could all evoke
powerful reactions and criminal could use their inability to fulfill familial and household roles,
guilt, and familial conflicts as excuses. The evidence from letters of remission denotes that on
several occasions a recognizably mad person was imprisoned and the officers of justice in the
locality refused to proceed against him or her, encouraging the family and the village, to write to
the king requesting remission. Remission letters were a way to release a mad person from blame
without having to circumvent the normal legal apparatus. Remission letters made dealing with
ambiguity of crimes committed by mad people

Central Dewitt Football Program Analysis
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of
knowledge, but rather a lack of will, and a lack to change Vince Lombardi. Central Dewitt s
football program usually has a tradition of great success and excellent morals. Unfortunately, in the
2014 and 2015 footballseason they have a combined record of 5 13, which does not live up to the
standards of the DeWitt community. There are many problems circulating the football program,
but most involve the lack of experience in coaching. Central Dewitt s losing football record for the
past two seasons can be solved by coaches properly developing their athletes, incorporating new
offensive and defensive strategies, and increasing player participation.... Show more content on

Including, beating their arch rivals the Maquoketa Cardinal 47 of the 83 times playing them
(CDSfootball). The Sabers currently run an offense called the triple option. In this more
dynamic and elaborate offense, they leave opponents unblocked making them choose to tackle
the quarterback or the fullback. If they tackle the fullback, the quarterback then has the option to
keep it himself or pitch it to the running back thus giving us the triple option. Head coach Mike
Miller brought the offense to Central Dewitt in 2012 during his debut season. The sabers saw
great success in Miller s first season going 8 4, winning the district six title and rushing for 3,644
yards (CDSfootball). It did not take long for opposing coaches to find ways to counter this run
dominant offense. In coach Millers previous two seasons the sabers have only run for a
combined total 3,700 yards (CDSfootball). This is not the only problem that lies within Central
Sabers schemes. The Sabers run a base 4 3 defense, which means there are 4 down lineman and 3
linebackers. Although this is a popular defense, in modern football you need to run multiple
defenses to throw off opposing offenses. The sabers do not run multiple defenses, and this allows
offenses to get in a rhythm, and as a result the sabers allowed an average of 36 points a game in
2015 (quicksstats). The need for change is evident in the Central Sabers program. The real question
is how to change the schemes, so the Sabers can get back on their winning

  • 2. Reflection On Bilingual Education On Thursday, June 22nd, I observed a writing class at Sherman High School at the Perrin Field location. The instructor, Catherine Cunningham, granted me permission to observe her Writing Class which meets M/W/F from 9:00am 3:00pm during the summer timeframe. Since I currently not do not have any teaching experience in the classroom yet, this was an opportunity to observe how an experience teacher of 25 plus years conducted her class. Before going into detail about this particular class, it s important to review Sherman ISD s ESL Services overall goals. Today s English language learners will dramatically impact the future of our nation. All limited English proficient students must acquire the English skills necessary for academic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The population of English learners (ELs) is increasing dramatically and teachers need to learn how to advocate for these often marginalized students. As Darling Hammond suggests, such courses give teachers the ability to see beyond one s own perspective and to put oneself into the shoes of the shoes of the learner (Darling Hammond, 2000). The English as a Second Language (ESL) program, which the class I observed is a part of, targeted students who wish to expand their English for communication, study, or pleasure. English Language Learners (ELL) students include sophomores, junior and senior s high school students and there are six levels of instruction, from mid beginning to advanced. Classes have an average of 11 or 12 students and there are four main focuses in the ELL Courses: listening speaking, reading discussion, writing, and grammar idioms. As far as admissions to the class, it is recommended that a student knows at least some English vocabulary before enrolling. As far as the instructor s overall goals for the class, she has many. She strives for her students to improve their writing fluency, writing accuracy, the ability to use the writing process as a writing tool, the ability to use English sentence structure, the ability to write unified, coherent, and developed paragraphs, the ability to use a word processor and to expand vocabulary. A couple focuses in the class, as noted in her session plan which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Malaysian Judicial System is based on the English legal system which succeeded by the history of the British. Malaysian Judicial System set for the cases like criminal and civil litigation. Litigation is a court process of starting and sustain or protecting a legal action. The Malaysian court system have both criminal and civil jurisdiction. The people can aim their actions with faith with the results in greater certainty. For the practicality, the law evolved was ground on reality instead of theoretical conditions. With there is still an adaptability that the judges can prevent from following previous cases if it had been settled incaution or by distinguishing precedents while the higher courts restrict the lower courts with its decision. The first disadvantages of doctrine of binding judicial precedent is rigidity. A lower courts must follow a prior precedent even it is wrong and also the cases may not go on for appeal to a higher court. The chances of amending the previous result may be lost and the judges must give a good reason for denying the previous precedents. The other disadvantages is hard to determine the ratio decidendi as there may be more than one ratio decidendi. So, this makes the judges very difficult to discover the right ratio decidendi. In the cases Rickards v Lothian (1913), the judges give more than one ratio decidendi. There is hundreds of judgement are made every year. • 5. Biological Differences 1.Why is it so attractive to accept biological explanations concerning differences? Social scientist find it attractive to accept biological explanation concerning differences because, first biological explanations have the ring of true science to them: Because their theories are based on objective scientific facts, the arguments of natural scientists are extraordinary persuasive (Kimmel 20). The second biological explanations seem to accord with our own observations: Women and men seem too different to us most of the time (Kimmel 20). For example, women are more emotional therefore they seem to love chick flicks because of the meanings and actions of love, meanwhile men are more aggressive so they prefer to watch action movies. Lastly the third biological explanation would be that there s also a certain conceptual tininess to biological explanations, because the social arrangements between women and men seem to stem directly and inevitably from the differences between us (Kimmel 20). 2.What are the three primary arenas of research that are used to explain biological differences between men and women? The three primary arenas of research to explain biological differences between men and women are is the evolutionary theory, brain research, and endocrinological research. • 9. Dido s Farewell The poem, Dido s Farewell by Lina Pastan, dramatizes the conflict between Dido and her depression after Aeneas leaves Carthage. The character Dido is the ancient Phoenician queen who founded Carthage but killed herself after the love of her life, Aeneas, left her to follow his destiny as the founder of Rome. The author presents the conflict by speaking metaphorically as Dido, using her as an outlet, which is evident throughout the poem as the author uses the first person perspective but with modern contraptions. The author starts by speaking about how the rain is chronic at [her] window (1 2), painting the image that her sadness, which is typically presented by rain, is persistent. Continuing, the author speaks about how the candles in Dido s room are [drowning] in their own wax. This implies the candles have been in use for a prolonged amount of time, which would mean that Dido hasn t left the room during that time. This personification of the candles represents how she is drowning in her own tears and sadness such as the candles are drowning in their own wax. The next sentence, Abandoned by light, even ... This contradicts itself because Dido is a nomad in [her] own house, (16 17) someone with a fixed home is saying that they are someone without a fixed home. Line eighteen shows that her heart [is] knocking, (18) and later on it is knocking to be let out. Here perhaps, the author is trying to say that Dido isn t comfortable in her own skin and mind. The ultimate serendipitous occasion occurred when he surprised them with the news they were getting a five foot deep, twenty two foot wide, above ground swimming pool. Dale Campbell Prof Cummins/Phi 358 THE RIGHT AND THE GOOD IN HOBBES S THEORY ON MORAL PHILOSOPHY Mr. Hobbes s Leviathan is one of the many outstanding philosophers that wrote books on moral philosophy and their meaning. Hobbes explains in a clear and engaging manner that makes his Statement thesis clear from the start: Man can be a self interested animal, and that this self interest is enough to create a justified and obligatory ways of justice, citizenship, and morality. He mentions in his thesis right from the beginning and is the basis for his theory that all things dealing with ethical thinking one general thought generate the answer; that is the reason for accepting self interest of all mankind. Even though his theory sounds like the perfect society in which a person is looking out for everyone, I believe that this theory attempts to define and in turn reduce our general concept of morality into the simplest form of self interest. No matter how this argument is formed, there is a group of ethical actions in which the morality is true, but the consequences are false. In most cases where the self interest of a person in the society is in contradiction. In this paper I will explain a class of people that I will refer to as Jamaican freeloaders. • 21. Taking a Look at Filibusters Filibusters are quite the conundrum, a pariah of sorts in the realm of U.S. politics, yet an integral part of our body of government. It is imperative that it remains to be kept alive in a warm embrace with the Senate, lest it is reduced to nothing more than a mere accessory to the House of Representatives. By nature, the filibuster is actually a resourceful tactic that utilizes the ideology of free speech to prolong and create an active dialog over legislation or to prevent a measure from being brought to a vote. However, in recent years the most unsettling adversity contemporary legislation faces is Rule XXII of the U.S. Senate. Forty one senators can veto the lion s share of legislation by refusal of invoking cloture(sixty being the magic number). Due to the malapportionment of the Senate, less than forty one percent of the population could be over represented, resulting in a conflicting vote against cloture sustaining debate indefinitely. The idea of a three fifths vote is being required for most Senate action can be seen as a modern day thunderstorm that overcasts democratic self government. The tradition of limitless debate in the Senate needs a bit of a review (perhaps a judicial one), as a refusal to vote for cloture should result in a suspension rather than an absolute veto. Simply put, forty one senators should have the ability to place an extended debate on bills or nominations for a period not to exceed a year beginning from the time they reach the floor. ... When competitors offer a lower price, it will enhance the possibility of the customer changing the purchase behavior (Wathne et al., 2001), and also undermine the consumer s consumption inertia for the original company. The study found that there are three issues existing in the studies of customer purchasing behavior in the fast food industry: (1) Why can consumers rapidly return in such a short period of time after a fast food industry negative news outbreak, or even not be impacted at all. Therefore, regarding the factors that impact customer loyalty in the fast food industry, in addition to customer satisfaction, are there any other important impact factors? (2) The fast food industry is different from the general food retailer. It has the characteristics of being rapid, convenient, and having a low price; however, the commonly seen customer satisfaction model (e.g. American Customer Satisfaction Index; European Customer Customer Satisfaction Index) cannot really present these characteristics. (3) Inertial behavior exists in the food purchasing behavior (Carrasco et al., 2005). However, there have been no scholars who have applied it to explore the relation between customer satisfaction and loyalty in the fast food industry. The main limitation and drawback in our study was that our results were compared to biopsy proven Gleason score not to post prostatectomy pathological results as only one of our patient underwent radical prostatectomy and rest of patients are non compatible to surgery either due to metastasis, old age or patient refusal. Second, our study are small (n =11) and ADC values correlation to biopsy proven Gleason score was done using only 66 core biopsy result, So larger studies are necessary to better assess our results. We recommend in later studies to use larger samples and compare the DWI ADC results to post prostatectomy pathological results so we can correlate the results to accurate Gleason score and even detect central gland carcinoma pathologically to compare with DWI MRI results. In conclusion our results prove high p values for correlating mean ADC value to Gleason score and median ADC values can be used as non invasive grading method for prostate cancer. • 31. Analysis Of Lucy By Jamaica Kincaid In Lucy, Jamaica Kincaid explores the disillusionment faced by the eponymous character upon immigrating to the United States. The novel s style of narration allows Lucy s thoughts and emotions to remain hidden. Despite this intense privacy, Lucy s disillusionment is clear. She had hoped that moving around the globe would solve her problems but she still struggles with homesickness and her relationship with her mother. Her move is disappointing. The erasure poem And Coldest also engages disillusionment. The poem suggests the speaker has become disillusioned by observing the world, and indicates their plan to be shut tight. The poem inspired me to consider the causes of Lucy s disillusionment, and her failure to address her own emotions. As a recent immigrant, the causes of Lucy s disillusionment are somewhat obvious. More enigmatic is her self avoidant, shut tight attitude. In this paper, I argue that Lucy s disillusionment causes her to avoid the discomfort that comes with self reflection. Lucy s experience in the United States is dissatisfactory from the moment of her arrival onwards. She describes her first night as gray black and cold and notes that no one told her January would be cold (Kincaid 3 5). This comment marks the intensity of Lucy s transition. And Coldest, too, opens with an unforgiving winter. The first lines, cold, and coldest, reflect not only the season but Lucy s experience of it she has never experienced a night so cold. Analysis Of Ben Jonson s Of An Age, But For All Time Ben Jonson wrote Shakespeare was not of an age, but for all time, representing how 21st century ideas and themes can be connected back to the time when 1 Henry IV was written. Looking at two examples from the text, one can identify the transformation of the test to 21st century problem of parents pressuring kids to attend college or act a certain way. Throughout the play King Henry would like his son, Prince Hal, to act a certain way. The King wants Prince Hal to act royal and responsible, like Hotspur. Instead, Prince Hal decides to act out and represent immature behavior with his sidekick Falstaff. King Henry states, See riot and dishonor stain the brow of my young Harry. The stop motion animation sequences were filmed separately from the live action scenes with the actors. These two parts were then combined to create the illusion that the ape was towering over the actors. In the 2005 remake of the film, director Peter Jackson relied on Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) to animate Kong. This use of CGI gave the director greater artistic control of the narrative. Many of the sets were computer generated, as well as Kong himself. To combine both the actors and the computer generated images together, chroma keying was used. In the scene where Ann Darrow is placed in the hand of Kong, the actress was filmed against a green screen, and held by a large green hand. When this scene was merged with the digital Kong, a composite image shows Kong holding her. Since chroma keying technology did not exist in the 1930 s, a full sized, fur covered hand had to be constructed to create the effect of Kong holding the actor. The difference between the visual effects in both versions is significant, making is apparent that the remake has displayed great technological advancement. These advancements also make the film more believable, and emphasise the story. Another aspect of the film that had a significant impact was colour. In the original version of King Kong, the film was shot in black and white. Sometimes there can be implications with interpreting the emotions in the film. Colour in film is a huge ... Filled with love, anger, passion, and fortitude the show makes you fall in love with each character a little at a time. At first glance, One Tree Hill seems like a cliche teenager show that only airheads would be interested in, but it really is not. One Tree Hill is extremely thought out and entrapping, it teaches teenagers life lessons by building each character into a role model, even the ones that you thought had no heart. They do this mostly through the use of Dan Scott, murderer of his own brother, but the lifesaver of his son Nathan. It can teach you that nothing is as it seems and even the simplest of shows can have the biggest impact on a person s life. The show has also taught me that the worst of people can overcome adversity and have a change of heart before it is too late. Central Dewitt Football Program Analysis The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will, and a lack to change Vince Lombardi. Central Dewitt s football program usually has a tradition of great success and excellent morals. Unfortunately, in the 2014 and 2015 footballseason they have a combined record of 5 13, which does not live up to the standards of the DeWitt community. There are many problems circulating the football program, but most involve the lack of experience in coaching. Central Dewitt s losing football record for the past two seasons can be solved by coaches properly developing their athletes, incorporating new offensive and defensive strategies, and increasing player participation.... The Sabers currently run an offense called the triple option. In this more dynamic and elaborate offense, they leave opponents unblocked making them choose to tackle the quarterback or the fullback. If they tackle the fullback, the quarterback then has the option to keep it himself or pitch it to the running back thus giving us the triple option. Head coach Mike Miller brought the offense to Central Dewitt in 2012 during his debut season. The sabers saw great success in Miller s first season going 8 4, winning the district six title and rushing for 3,644 yards (CDSfootball). It did not take long for opposing coaches to find ways to counter this run dominant offense. In coach Millers previous two seasons the sabers have only run for a combined total 3,700 yards (CDSfootball). This is not the only problem that lies within Central Sabers schemes. The Sabers run a base 4 3 defense, which means there are 4 down lineman and 3 linebackers. Although this is a popular defense, in modern football you need to run multiple defenses to throw off opposing offenses. The sabers do not run multiple defenses, and this allows offenses to get in a rhythm, and as a result the sabers allowed an average of 36 points a game in 2015 (quicksstats). The need for change is evident in the Central Sabers program. The real question is how to change the schemes, so the Sabers can get back on their winning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
