segmentation process. However, in most of the existing techniques, the suggested user interaction is
not good enough since the user cannot intuitively force his knowledge into the tool or edit results
easily. Therefore, in ambiguous situation, the user has to revert to tedious manual drawing.
Presented method to develop as a combined segmentation and editing tool. It incorporates a simple
user interface and a fast and reliable segmentation based on 1D segment matching. The user is
required to click just a few control points on the desired object border, and let the algorithm
complete the rest. The user can then edit the result by adding, removing and moving control points,

I am a committed student with high personal goals. As demonstrated through my excellent
university grades, I am a passionate learner and always aim to reach my full potential. I have
received a congratulatory letter of excellence in seven of eight units studied at university so far. I

I believe that the New Colombo scholarship would allow me to engage in more units which
challenge my understanding of the world and further develop my critical thinking skills. I would
plan to choose a cultural or language unit to gain a deeper understanding of the country and
community that I would be living in. I believe that this would not only benefit my immediate
experiences whilst in the host country but also develop my ability to communicate and interact
with the science community in Australia and overseas in years to come. I am very interested in this
scholarship program for the academic opportunities it provides and encourages to develop my
learning and knowledge for the benefit of myself and the national and international community.
Leadership in the community
Throughout my life I have been committed to being a leader and role model in my community. I
have been highly committed to the Duke of Edinburgh program completing all three award levels,
Gold, Silver and Bronze. Through this program I have gained experience in communicating with
people of similar and very different circumstances and life experiences. I have volunteered at a
nursing home talking and listening to residents, preparing and serving food at a local soup kitchen

It did seem like it took a l ong time for the results to come back. The ticking of the clock was a
booming drum in the waiting room. It felt like we were waiting in the little cramped room for
hours but it was only 15 minutes. When we received the results, we were devastated. We were
told I had a mass growing in my jaw that was eating away my bone. From the x ray, it didn t look
like I had much bone left. Remember, I kept thinking that the doctor was wrong because my jaw
didn t hurt. When are doctors wrong? I kept thinking about the weekend before when my basketball

It is said that America is the most diverse country in the world; ironically it is also the most
prominent. It is ironic because it is expected that with diverse people in one place they will want
to seclude themselves but in the US; it shows that when there is a similar connection, such as

For centuries, animals have played a huge part in people s lives. Some people worship animals,
and for other people animals may be nothing but a source of food. The Animal Legal Defense
Fund Organization has sponsored a petition that calls for increased protection for the rights of
animals. The petition calls for the right of all animals to be free of exploitation, cruelty, neglect,
and abuse, and enumerates further rights for laboratory animals, farm animals, companion animals,
and wildlife. Animals should have a bill of rights because animals are very like us, even though

have been accused of sexual abuse and harassment towards their female co stars, assistants etc. The
most recent example of this is the various allegations against one of the biggest film producer in
Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein. Since the allegations have come out, a bunch of female celebrities
have lent their support towards the victims of Weinstein and some even shared their own
experiences with the disgraced producer. However, not many male celebrities have come out to
condemn Weinstein s actions. In fact, The Guardian, a British news agency released an article
stating that they asked over 20 male celebrities who worked closely with the producer, and none of
