Grind it forcefully till Parada disappears by getting divided into
finest globules
Maradana of Parada
powder of Chitrakamula and Triphala + Mardita Parada + pulp
of Gruhakanya (Parada dissociates into small molecules)
Procedure
32. Keep Murcchita Parada in Damaruyantra
apply heat
Allow the Damruyantra to become cool
Separate Parada from the yantra and
wash it with Kanji
Collect Parada carefully and filter it with
cloth piece.
Procedure
36. Procedure
Tamra Churna
mixed with
Utthapita
Parada and
ground well to
become Pishti
Place this Pishti
in Lower Ghata
of Urdhvapatana
yantra
Seal the
Urdhvapatana
yantra properly
and apply fire
form down
Then Parada will
get collected
from the Upper
Ghata of
Urdhvapatana
yantra
Similar procedure
should repeat for 3
times in Urdhvapatana
yantra and 7 times in
Adhapatana yantra
37. Tamra is highly reactive
Combines readily with Parada forming
amalgum
It removes Naga & Vanga impurities leaving
behind Shuddha Parada.
Use of Nimbu swarasa
accelerates the process
of amalgation.
41. All Churna mixed with
Urdhvapatit Parada and
ground well with Kanji to
become Pishti
Place this Pishti in Upper
Ghata of Adhapatana
yantra
Seal the Adhapatana
yantra properly and apply
fire form upper side
Then Parada will get
collected at the bottom of
Lower Ghata of
Adhapatana yantra
Procedure
45. Procedure
Mix Dhanyabhraka with Adhapatit Parada
and ground well with Kanji to become
Pishti
Place this Pishti in Tiryaka patanayantra
Apply Mrudu, Madhyam & Tivraagni
Collect the Parada from Tiryaka
patanayantra
46. ………cont
In this process a part of Abhraka is absorbed in
Parada which causes “Paksachheda” of Parada
& as a result,it is capable of of tolerating
mrudu,madhyam, & Tivra Agni.
(R.P.S)
47. Rasamritam
Tiryaka Patana can be
done for 3 times instead
of 3 different patanas
As Mercury loss is less
in this process

61. For Dehasiddhi purpose Parada is advised to be used in following
forms
Marita Murcchita Bandha
Parada becomes suitable for ‘Dehasiddhi’
purpose
i.e. for internal use in the body for
Rasayana karmas and Vyadhinashana.
After going through eight or eighteen
Samskaras
Next step after Ashtasamskara
62. Importance of herbs used in
processing of Parada.
Ingredients used in processing mostly contains
“S” as main or trace content.(e.g Rasona,
Urnoo, Rajika.)
Mercury has a tendency to bind “S”.
R.T. says – gandhaka as Rasendra virya
vardhana & vikara nashana tyashu.(8/37-38)
63. ………cont
Garlic contains diallyl sulphide & selenium
which act as anti oxidant.(Zn content 212ppm-
reduced to 120 ppm)
Tulasi – Mercury induced toxicity leads to
elevation of SGOT & SGPT, use of tulasi is
found to decrease it.
(ref.Imp. Of medicinal plants in Rasasastra)
Gruhakanya – Helps dissociation of Hg.
Nimbu – Accelerates amalgamation
64. ………..cont
Ingredients used for Samskara purpose are of
Amla, Kshariya,Katu & Kashaya nature.
They have bhedana,shosana action.
The ingredients used may vary from treatise to
treatise but the basic concept of triturating
parada with sour and rough entities are
preffered

Kajjali prepared by using samanya shodhita
parada
39.54%
By Ashtasamskarita Parada 49.68% (Aiso contains less free S)
Anuvasita 41 %
71. ………..cont
All 3 parpati were effective but Rasaparpati made
up of Ashtasamskarita Parada proved to be more
effective than others. (
ref.( A comparative pharmaco – clinical study of Rasa
parpati prepared from anuvasita,Ashtasamskarita

72. Practically now a day many pharmacies
and Rasavaidyas are not going for
Ashtasamskara, they are using Hingulotha
Parada.
