Argumentative Essay Outline Template
Writing an essay on the topic "Argumentative Essay Outline Template" may initially seem like a
straightforward task, but the process can be deceptively challenging. Crafting a compelling
argumentative essay requires a careful balance of research, critical thinking, and effective
organization.
Firstly, one must delve into the subject matter, conducting thorough research to gather relevant
information and supporting evidence. This involves sifting through various sources,
distinguishing credible information from biased or unreliable content. It demands time and effort
to develop a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
Next comes the critical thinking phase. Constructing a solid argument requires the ability to
analyze different perspectives, anticipate counterarguments, and formulate a persuasive stance.
This process involves evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of various viewpoints and crafting
a coherent and convincing narrative.
Once the research and critical thinking phases are complete, the challenge shifts to organizing the
information into a coherent essay structure. Creating a well-defined outline is crucial for a
successful argumentative essay. This step requires careful consideration of the introduction, body
paragraphs, and conclusion, ensuring a logical flow of ideas and a clear progression of the
argument.
Additionally, attention must be paid to the language used, as clarity and precision are essential in
conveying the intended message effectively. Crafting a compelling essay demands a mastery of
language, grammar, and style.
In conclusion, writing an argumentative essay on the topic of an outline template involves
navigating through the complexities of research, critical analysis, and organizational skills. It
requires a keen understanding of the topic, the ability to construct a persuasive argument, and
proficiency in expressing ideas clearly. While challenging, mastering these skills can lead to the
creation of a well-crafted and convincing essay.

The Democratic People s Republic Of Korea
The Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is a self reliant and insular
state. It s paranoia and mistrust of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United
States (U.S.) has contributed towards the relentless drive for expansion of its military
capabilities under the Military First (Songun) policy, this equates to 22% of GDP .
This has been an aggressive expansion focussing on its nuclear and missile
capabilities. The overt testing of the nuclear capability has caused concern amongst
the international community. The political picture is also uncertain; Kim Jong Un
continues to try and consolidate his position, under significant political, economic
and military instability and a constant threat of regime change. The economic... Show

(3) The humanitarian effect should DPRK suffer state failure. I will draw a
conclusion and highlight the pertinent implications of state failure on international
security.
The impact of a North Korean failure in a regional context would be catastrophic,
creating far reaching consequences across a mosaic of issues. It is widely
acknowledged that a collapse would lead to civil war, with no central government
or recognised regime in power. Regional warlords or former military officials
would run large swathes of the country unregulated and with access to a plethora of
military hardware including nuclear and, or biological weapons. This may lead to
skirmishes or planned incursions across the international boarder using artillery,
special forces or WMD. There will be numerous factions loyal to different masters in
military, insurgent or criminal terms. There would certainly be a humanitarian
disaster, mass fleeing of refugees towards the ROK and Chinese boarders, with a
semi starving population of 23 million. As a consequence this would see the ROK
quickly enter the conflict with the main objective of stopping the proliferation of the
WMD and forming a United Korea . On the back drop of civil war and the associated
second and third order effects this would be difficult for the ROK to achieve in
isolation. The alliance with the U.S. would be fundamental in delivering a United

What Causes Sorrow In Frankenstein By Mary Shelley
The quote acting as the prompt is an edited version of the line from Ecclesiastes
1:18, and it means that knowledge is what causes sorrow, and wisdom is what
brings grief. Knowledge is often defined as having facts or skills based from
experience or education. Following that, wisdom is defined as using that knowledge
for good judgement. To say that knowledge causes sorrow is to say that education
results in sadness, and to say that wisdom brings grief is to say that good judgment
results in inner turmoil. In a sense, it s not knowledge that leads to sorrow, but doubt
that causes sorrow.
Doubt disillusions senses of hope and acceptance that are created by the smallest
positive moments, thus causing sorrow. To understand how doubt can do this, an
examination of human nature would be most appropriate, and Mary Shelley s
Frankenstein is the perfect example for that. In the novel, the Monster had been
raised without any knowledge of how the world truly was. He was lost in his own
visions for most of his existence, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Had Truman and his commanders shrunk from doing everything possible to force the
war to its end, the American people would never have forgiven them. This judgment
no doubt mattered more to these leaders than the disapproval of academic historians
a half century later, and rightly so. (Nichols 1)
As this quote explains, Truman had to send out the message to fire the bombs, or
else he would face the doubt of Americans on his ability to protect and run the
country against a ruthless foreign force. It was with this fear of doubt that caused
him to release the bombs, and make people suffer for the greater good of the
country, resulting in the sorrow those who lost members of their family that day, and
the sorrow of a loss of life in general for that
Security Of Nosql Database Against Intruders Essay
Security of NoSQL Database against Intruders
Abstract
The evolution of distributed web based applications and cloud computing have
generated the demand to store voluminous of big data in distributed databases
efficiently to offer excessive availability and scalability to users. The new type of
database resolves many new challenges especially in large scale and high
concurrency applications which are not present in relational database. These new
sorts of databases are not relational by using explanations and hence they do not prop
up whole SQL performance. As progressively insightful big data is being saved in
NoSQL databases, it is essential to preserve higher security measures to ensure safe
and trusted communication across the network. In this paper, we describe the
security of NoSQL database against intruders which is growing rapidly. This paper
also delineates probably the most prominent NoSQL databases and descriptions their
security aspects and problems.
Keywords: NoSQL, Security, Intruders, Big Data, Authentication, Big table.
1.Introduction
NoSQL databases had made for unraveling the Big Data issue by utilizing a
distributed system to bring out excellent performance in data storage and retrieval at
very large scale. At this scale, pieces of the system often fail and NoSQL is created
to handle these failures (Chow, 2013) (Ron, Shulman Peleg, Bronshtein, 2015).
Various companies have espouse different sorts of non relational databases, ordinarily

Kung Fu Panda in the Eye Of a Social Psychologist
Movies enact realistic social situations and serve as social learning tools, especially
animated ones that are being consumed by both young and adult audiences. The
movie that will be discussed in this paper is Kung Fu Panda .
First theory that will be introduced in this paper analyzes social groups, which exist
when two or more persons interact with one another, share common goals, are
interdependent to some extent and recognize that they belong to a group, as defined
by Paulus (1989). The group presented in Kung Fu Panda movie is The awesome
five warriors who live in training temple and follow common goal of being the best

And second dimension is the one employed to the real situation in the movie, where
the members of the group experienced contact hypothesis an increased contact with
the outsider Panda, a process described in study of Pettigrew (1981).
Since this contact proceeded under certain conditions, it served to correct he
stereotype activated and helped recategorize Panda from out group to in group . The
conditions working for decreasing prejudice (e.g., (Aronson, Bridgeman, Geffner,
1978; Schwarzwald, Amir, Crain, 1992) contain equality in social status( the
awesome five and Panda were elevated to the same status during those events), the
contact between them involved dependence and interdependence (they were told by
authority that only cooperation will help them all together defeat the evil warrior
and they had to train all together), the contact permitted them to know each other as
individuals (they communicated quite a lot and got to know personal traits of each
other), there were norms favoring group equality (once the master insisted on Panda
being the dragon warrior he received the status of equal), they might have viewed
one another as typical of their respective group, but we will never know that for sure.

Starting a Spa Business in Singapore
Starting a Spa Business in Singapore
Despite the economic crisis, health and wellness sector in Singapore has always
recorded a steady growth starting from S$140 million a year. The factor causing the
high amount of revenue is due to high tourist arrivals and the increase in wealth of
individuals. People are more willing to part with their money in return for exotic
treatments and multiple treatment packages. There has also been a 63% increase in
the number of spas since 2003. Due to the potential gains, big players and new
companies are setting up shop in Singapore.
The Massage Establishment Act requires a Massage Establishment (ME) License to
allow the company to operate its massage, foot reflexology services, spa baths,
manicure and similar treatments. The ME License is separated into 2 categories,
Category I and Category II. Category I license is more popular among the spa
business as licensees can enjoy serving alcohol, admitting customers regardless of
age, unrestricted operating hours and employing foreign therapists or masseuses.
Before applying for the License, there are a set of conditions that needs to be met
before the license can be issued. These conditions are:

Midterm Paper 1 Patronage and Importance of St. George and the Dragon
Iconography is, arguably, one of the most influential pieces of art in the world.
Icons are known for the many images and depictions of holy scenes that appear
across several cultures. Though icons are diverse, there are always uniting
characteristics. Each icon is painted in a way that allows the viewer to understand
the story, no matter how much information is included in the actual icon itself.
Based off of little pieces within in the image itself, the viewer will be able to recall
the story and the symbolism... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is what makes St. George and the Dragon so interesting. This has to do with
the spread of the icons. Icons were art that could be, fairly easily, reproduced. Due
to their significance, like St. George s triumph over evil, they were wide spread
and hung up in homes and churches. This led to more and more people becoming
aware of the story. St. George represented an idea Christian knight. He was the
embodiment of what men on the crusades should have been like. When the stories
about him started circulating people were in awe of how he was represented. As
said before he appeared during the siege of Jerusalem, without the icon depiction of
St. George, it is very plausible that the men would not have known who it was that

Concerted Cultivation Means For Children
Concerted cultivation means that parents try to make their children more talented
by enrolling them in organized activities. Meanwhile, natural growth is letting
children play with the other children in the neighborhood instead of organized
activities, but not always by choice. My childhood was shaped by concerted
cultivation. When I was growing up, my parents enrolled me in many organized
activities to do during my free time. I did soccer, basketball, softball, track,
gymnastics and Girl Scouts. Every weeknight, I had practice or a Girl Scout
meeting and every weekend I had games and tournaments. I did not spend much
time with the children around my neighborhood because I was too busy with my
activities. My childhood relates best to Garrett Tallingers childhood. Garrett s life
revolves around his sports and organized activities and does not get much time to
play with the other children in his neighborhood. Although I did not make many
friends in my neighborhood, I had many friends in my organized sports and we
were all very close. I do feel that even though I grew up through concerted
cultivation, I had a good childhood and still got to be a kid. When I was growing
up, I had monetary awareness. Monetary awareness means that you are aware of
what social class you are in and how much money your parents make compared to
other parents. I come from a working rich familyand I have always been aware of that.
Having monetary awareness affected my concerted cultivation

Nietzsche s On The Genealogy Of Morals
Humanity s natural aggression means that civilization is constantly threatened with
disintegration and it must make every effort to ensure these urges are curbed, in order
for its continued existence. He continues in this vein, by stating that, in order for
people to forgo the satisfaction of their tendency to aggression civilization encourages
us to form into groups, however for this to work their must continue to be outsiders,
that the aggression can be turned towards. This is in accordance with On the
Genealogy of Morals, where it is the Slaves ascetic nature that forces them to also
control their instincts. Likewise, both Freud and Nietzsche assert that these
restrictions cause people to internalise their aggressions, turning inward.... Show more

They both see the values of society as being a result of and necessary for civilization,
rather than natural phenomena. Both theorists see guilt as stemming from a
restriction of humanity s natural urges, Nietzsche believing that it was a tool used by
the priests to control the masses. Freud on the other hand thought it developed from a
repression of humanity s aggression towards one another. Equally, Freud and
Nietzsche show a similar disdain for religion, the former seeing it as a delusional,
infantile way to limit the pain and suffering that existence brings with it and the
latter, due to what he sees as the transvaluation of values that the Judeo Christian
religions have brought about and the perceived cultural inaction that stems from this.
As well as this, Nietzsche disliked the apparent inherited debt that comes with
Christianity and the obligated guilt from Christ s
Peter Pan And Neverland
M. Barrie s writing of Peter Pan and Wendy s story of Neverland introduces a new
type of adventure. Barrie s inclusion with his past bring the characters and
relationships to light. Wendy, the older sister to Michael and John are brought to
Neverland to find a land of Lost Boys. To the Lost Boys and Peter Pan, Wendy finds
herself becoming a new character and caught in a confused relationship. Wendy s
character is influenced to change from a sister, mother, and lover to then affect other
characters in the novel. J.M. Barrie s intentions may be unclear on Wendy in
Neverland, but the adventure of finding out is the fun.
The journey to Neverland with Wendy, Michael and John would bring unexpected

(Tarr 4) The influence of Barrie s past is shown of Wendy s characters as her role
of a sister turns more into a mother. Starting from when Wendy and her brothers
arrived, the transformation can be seen as Wendy decides to mother some of the
lost boys. Very well, she said, I will do my best. Come inside at once, you naughty
children... (Barrie 105). Wendy only having knowledge of being a mother from
her own, wants to be the best to the Lost Boys. Her decisions to mother the Lost
Boys will reflect her other actions all through the novel. The tendencies of a mother
would come through in Wendy in Neverland with the Lost Boys. She embraces
being a mother to the Lost Boys going all out when it was time to go to bed. And
then, at last, they all got into bed for Wendy s story, the story they loved the best, the
story Peter hated. (Barrie 129) Wendy s actions seem normal to her as it would seem
normal to any other mother. J.M. Barrie influence just makes Wendy more
comfortable with the idea of being a mother in Neverland. As the novel continues the
reader can tell that Wendy motherly instincts grow and effect in other ways. Coming
to Neverland with her brothers meant that
Essay on Media and Violence
Introduction
In this essay I will be analysing whether less visual violence within the media
would mean less violence on the streets. Firstly, I will be questioning whether there
is a connection between the viewing of media violence and actual acting upon it. To
do this I will analyse the usefulness of the different methods used to approach such
as complex issue. To illustrate this I will use examples of different media forms that
seem to have been a catalyst for acts of violence. I will then attempt to come to a
conclusion on whether less media violence could mean less acts of violence. Define

Research
Some argue that watching violence on screen may have a negative effect on the
individual and may lead to that individual imitating that act. Many researchers
especially psychologist have carried out studies attempting to prove that there is a
correlation between the two commonly using experiments with the use of
observations (Boyle, 2005). The most common way that researchers go about
answering the question is by selecting a group of children, making them watch
something which has a level of violence and analyses the way the children react to
it after they have watched it (Bandura et al, 1963). There are many flaws when
conducting such as study, one of them being that the study highly lacks in reliability.
Even if there appears to be a link between media violence and street violence, the
results would not be geographically consistent if the study was repeated as they fail to
realise that the social situation of every individual is different, (Guanlett, 2001)
therefore, generalising the study based

Back in the 16th century, there was a lot of controversy between the Catholics and
Protestants. It wasn t until 1570 where Catholicism was defined. Mary, being
Catholic, was not accepted in the protestant country she moved to, France. In 1561,
Mary, Queen of Scots, angered the all of the Protestant Reformation. The Protestant

Annotated Bibliography On Information Security
1.Abstract
Information security is a major concept in today s industrial and computer era, so
security must be higher to protect the confidential data. Information security plays
major role in computer and network security with the use of different cryptography
algorithms that includes the encryption and decryption of data with the uses of the
algorithm and the key. By means of text or numerical key for the encryption can be
dangerous because with the several hack attacks that a key can be broken. So I have
proposed a new mechanism that will replace the text key with the image pixels and
can gain high security which cannot be easy to break without prior knowledge.

It takes plaintext and the key as input and follows some mechanism with the use of
mathematical calculations to convert the plaintext into the cipher text. Instead of
using the key that is in the numerical and text format if we use the set of the pixels
of an image, then the algorithm will be able to generate the cipher text that will be
really hard to decode.
3.Research design
3.1Basic theory there are some primary and important components that play a vital
role in the cryptography are,
I.Plaintext: this is a regular text message that is in meaningful and in the readable
format that needs to be secured.
II.Cipher text: this is the result of the encryption process where we get the cipher text
that is in scrambled and unreadable format.
III.Algorithm: this is a core part of the cryptography where all transformations occur
with some predefined processes, rules and basic mathematical functions. This
algorithm is responsible for encipher and decipher a message.
IV.Key: secret key that is used to encrypt the message and used as input to the
algorithm. And this key is also shared between the sender and the receiver.
3.2Processes used to carry out cryptography
I.Encryption: encryption is carried out on the sender side, hence transferred plain text
into the cipher text and forwarded over the network.
II.Decryption: decryption is carried out on the receiver side to translate the cipher
text into the plaintext with the same key that is used at the sender side.

Today when you look at our country you think of it a somewhat of a melting pot or
a mixed and diverse population. When you look at the populations, even in small
towns you see multiple different races and cultures. This then leads to our workforce
where you see that same type of diverse culture entering the workforce in the
communities they live in and the ones around them. Our workforce hasn t only

A.1. Demographic Changes
One of the larger changes in our workforce is that the employee population is
becoming more and more diverse. The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics states that the
workforce in 2014 was made up primarily by Caucasians coming in at 79%. African
Americans, Asians, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and race list as other made
up the additional working population (BLS Reports, 2014). Although when looking
these different races individually you wouldn t think that they are a large part of
the population. But when you are talking about 21% of our workforce, that is a
large number. Looking at the number of people by race actually work is also very
interesting. Native Hawaiian 70%, Pacific Islanders 66%, Hispanics/Latinos,
Asians 64.6%, Caucasians 63.5% , 63.3% of people descending from two or more
races, African Americans 61.2%, and American Indian and Alaska Natives 59.6%
(BLS Reports, 2014). Over the last three years our school as went from being a
primarily caucasian school to a school with a diverse population. I believe this has
made our school strong and offered more of an opportunity for the students and staff
to emerge and understand the diverse culture we have all around us. Understand and
teaching our students will make a student population that will themselves be more

What a hero is
When the word hero is spoken, everyone has different thoughts. Some will think of
super powers like flying and saving people from villains; while others have a
certain person they know or have heard of that come to mind who have done
something to make a difference in the lives of others but who is a hero to you? To
answer this question you must first ask yourself what a hero is; what comes to your
mind when someone says the word. When I am confronted with these questions I
always have the same thoughts; smart, strong will power, and someone who stands
up for what they believe is right.
Finding someone who possesses these ideal traits is not an easy task to take on, but
one person definitely comes to mind. Living in a time where ... Show more content on

Tchaikovsky And Persichetti Compare And Contrast
Composers from all generations are unique in some way. Tchaikovsky, a popular
Russian composer, and Persichetti, a 20th century composer, were very popular
during their time frames. The composers Tchaikovsky and Persichetti differ in
many ways including time period, musical style, and popularity. Peter Ilyich
Tchaikovsky was born on May 7, 1840 in a small Russian town called Votkinsk,
which is located in central Russia. His mother is Russian while his father is
French, but Tchaikovsky is well known as Russian. Tchaikovsky s mother was a
big piano player. As a result, Tchaikovsky was taught how to play the piano. When
Tchaikovsky was eight years old, his father had to move to Moscow for
engineering. This was a tough transition for Tchaikovsky because he has quite
close with his father. When Tchaikovsky was about thirteen years old, he moved to
Moscow and attended the school of Jurisprudence. Unfortunately, while
Tchaikovsky was in Moscow in 1854, his mother passed away from cholera. This
was a loss for Tchaikovsky that created a lot of emotional distress. Without his

Deforestation In America s Rainforests
Brazil s rainforests and America s rainforests are great examples of the negative
effect that deforestation has on these specific areas. One of the rising challenges in
our rapidly growing world is the destruction of rainforests and how it is slowly

environment that is surrounding us, one of the most important being its effect on the
climate. The fast rise in the world s population, calling for high demand of resources,
is only hastening the effects of deforestation, which can hopefully be put an end to

result of deforestation, for the trees are taken down and turned into these products.
Say you have a whole box of school papers that you don t need anymore, and you
want to throw them in the trash. Instead of throwing it in the trash, you should
recycle it. When you recycle it, the paper goes to a factory, which adds other products
to it, melts it down, and molds it into other products. This process can eventually rule
out the need for deforestation, reducing the effects of climate change. Clearly,
recycling is one of the many sustainable solutions that can hopefully stop
Tide Modelling
IB Mathematics Standard Level Portfolio Assignment Task I
Tide Modeling
Kelvin Kwok
In this modeling assignment, I will develop a model function for the relationship
between time of day and the height of the tide. I will first show the data in a table
form copied from the assignment sheet. Then I will use the data to construct a
scatter graph of time against height, then I will develop a function that models the
behavior noted in the graph analytically, and describe any variables, parameters or
constraints for the model. In the end I will modify the same model using the
regression feature of graphing software to develop a best fit function for the data.
This modeling task will allow me to find out what is the best time that a good ... Show

And for the value of C which is the horizontal translation, by trial and error method, I

And D is the principal axis, as the min. value and max. value has already changed, so
the new value for D would be 12.15+0.82=6.475
Hence we will get a modified function y=5.675sinx2+ПЂ12+6.475
Diagram3 Graph of the modified function y=5.675sinx2+ПЂ12+6.475 in method4
From diagram 3, we can see that the modified function has passed through 11 data

fit to the data points.
Method 5: Decide what time a good sailor should launch their boat based on the
model in method 4
An outgoing tide is a receding tide , i.e. a tide that decreases from it s max
height(crest) to its min. height(trough), from our observations on the graph in
method 4 , the max. height of the tide occurs at 2.6 hours after midnight and 15.2
hours after midnight which is 2:36am and 3:12pm respectively. However, it s more
sensible to launch a boat in day light rather than in the dark, therefore the best for a
good sailor to launch a boat would be 3:12pm. But since the function modeled in part
4 is not a perfit fit, therefore the perdiction of the best time to launch a boat is a
theoretical guess.
Nuclear Energy Pros and Cons
Nuclear energy
Nuclear energy in scientific terms defined as the inhaustible energy derived from the
nucleus of an atom by the process of nucleus break up through nuclear fission and
nuclear fusion. Nuclear fission is a process where the nucleus of an atom splits and
releases radioactive materials such as uranium which are used in many ways. Nuclear
fusion is a process s when the two atoms of an element get together and large amount
of heat is generated. in this way the nucleus releases tremendous energy that is
utilized for many purposes both constructive and destructive.

A Study On My Life
Enter into this environment, a young, poor, black woman from the projects.
Ursula was not prepared for their program. She was the only female in a school of
mostly white men. The school existed outside of her comfort zone, in a different
borough of New York. She had to take additional classes to catch up with her peers.
For probably the first time in her life, she doubted herself and her decision to enter
this prestigious school. But she was a quick study, and after switching her major from
chemical engineering to mechanical engineering, she found her way. (Burns, Ursula
M. Burns, n.d.)
In a pre commencement dinner speech, on the day before she was to receive an
honorary doctorate from NYU, Ursula talked about how Brooklyn Poly changed her
life. (Xerox CEO Ursula Burns ( 80 ME): Poly Changed my Life, 2010) She talked
about how Poly nurtured and prepared its students for life in the school and beyond.
Ursula credits Brooklyn Polytechnic with her ability to provide for her children a

Brooklyn Poly prepared her for her continued education at Columbia University,
paving the way to Xerox.

Violent Programs on Television Lead to Aggressive
Behavior...
Since 1982, the National Institute of Mental Health, along with other reputable health
organizations has collected data that connects media violence, with violent acts.
Conclusions deduced from this data prove that violent programs on television lead to
aggressive behavior by children and teenagers who watch those programs. Television
violenceaffects young people of all ages, all socio economic levels, and all levels of
intelligence.
Today s children view vast amounts of violence on television. A steady diet of death,
killings, torture, and other grotesque acts may be viewed on any day by vulnerable
youth. When children are young, they are impressionable to all their surroundings,
and especially vulnerable to what they see. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A particular focus of the study was the media s portrayal of violence and the public
s personal experiences. Television is the primary source of media for most
American citizens, and therefore television violence is the primary source for
viewing violence in both adults and children. This report gave evidence of the
media s ability to socialize the viewers to the norms and values of the culture.
Previously the ability of television to do so had been disputed that the media was
seen only as a re enforcer and not a creator.
Research performed by Albert Bandura concluded there were strong short term
effects of exposure to violence in the media that affects children. In his studies,
children watched models perform aggressive acts against a doll. These acts of
aggression were presented under three circumstances: 1. the children saw the model
rewarded for aggressive behavior, 2. the children saw the model receive no
consequences for their aggressive behavior, and 3. the children saw the model
punished. All three groups were able to imitate the aggressive behavior that
contradicts early notions that the influences of violence were not negative if the
violence was not glorified.

5.2.4.1. Data Source
For the firm specific return prediction, a firm level monthly share prices, turnover
and paid up value data on KSE over eleven year period January 2002 through
December 2012 is collected from the websites of Business Recorder and Karachi
Stock Exchange that are authentic sources of information. The data consists of
monthly share prices of a large sample of 300 firms of 132 months. For risk free
rate of return interest rate on 6 month Treasury bond is used. Accounting data has
been collected from various bulletins of balance sheet analysis published by State
Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Data set on close prices does not contain information on
dividends. Mills and Coutts (1995) find that the exclusion of dividend payments is
not a significant problem. This idea is, again supported by both Lakonishok and

relatively small and will not impact on the statistical significance of any results
evidence from Draper and Paudyal (1997) adds further to this statement. However, it

Fidelity Vs. The Odyssey Essay

How Fidelity Drives The Odyssey
Fidelity is the crucial virtue in The Odyssey. Fidelity is what drives the story of
Odysseus s journey: it is both Odysseus s reason for returning home and the means
for him to get home. In the course of the story, Homer dramatizes the nature of
fidelity by contrasting different forms of fidelity and their opposites. This essay will
examine three forms of fidelity and the roles they play in Odysseus s journey.
The most noticeable form of fidelity is sexual fidelity, or faithfulness. Odysseus
loves his wife, Penelope, and he wants nothing more than to get back home to her;
and for him, the fullest expression of being back with her would be back in bed
with her. And yet Odysseus sleeps with a couple of other women during his
journey home, and he does so willingly. Describing Odysseus s last day with
Calypso, Homer says, And now, withdrawing into the cavern s deep recesses, in
each other s arms they lost themselves in love. (book 5, lines 250 251) What they
feel is love not just lust, or passion; that they lost themselves shows that they felt it
mutually. This is obviously Odysseus sleeping with Calypso willingly and enjoying
it. Later in the story, he is unfaithful to Penelope again when he sleeps with Circe:
Straightaway she began to swear the oath I required never, she d never do me
Persuasive Essay On Harriet Tubman
Throughout history, and even today, people have fought for what is just and right
through a multitude of different methods, some violent, others entirely peaceful.
There are three freedom fighters that stand out among the rest, however. Harriet
Tubman risked her life many times to free her people from unjust enslavement,
Mother Jones organized more obvious methods to set laws in place against child
labor, and nowadays Christine Caine and the A21 Organization fight to save and
protect victims of human trafficking. These three people have all fought valiantly,
and continue to fight today, for the justice that every oppressed individual deserves,
as they believe in equality for all on Earth.

This can be inferred from the fact that Harriet held the bravery to return to
plantations over and over again; if Harriet did not believe this statement was true,
she never would have risked her life in such a seemingly foolish and dangerous
mission. She valued human life so much that she put hers on the line to save others.
Mother Jones encouraged children to join her in a march to see the President and
protest a lack of child labor laws. She saw, firsthand, the terrible working conditions
that young children were sometimes forced into to provide money for their
families, and she wanted to do something about it. This is further explored in the
Studysync article, Mother Jones: Fierce Fighter for Workers Rights : Images of
the child workers Mother Jones had seen stayed with her the torn, bleeding fingers
of the breaker boys, the mill children living on coffee and stale bread . It is obvious
that Mother Jones was deeply affected by these painful images, and she felt
compassion for the poor children. This is why she resolved to march to Sagamore
Hill and speak with the president about putting in place stronger child labor laws. A
few times, Jones was stopped by the police, who were trying to prevent her from
seeing the president: At first, police told the group they couldn t enter (Trenton). Mill
owners didn t want any trouble .
Music as a Stress Reliever
They say music is one of the biggest stress relievers while acting gives you a chance
to engulf yourself into a character and be someone else for a change. Together these
two create Musical Theater, possibly one of the best two combinations known to
man. Musical Theater is a worldwide form of entertainment that has been around
since ancient times and exhibits emotion through a series of acts which include
singing, dancing and scripted acting. Different areas of the world follow unique
storylines which are relevant to their past and current events. The beginning of
Musical Theater dates back to ancient times and originates mainly from the Romans,
Greeks and Natya Shastas and interestingly enough, it also dates back to The Harlem
Renaissance Era. In the third BC Roman comedies began to include dance and
music. The Romans attached metal slabs to the bottom of their shoes helping them
to dance better. These shoes were called Sabilla shoes which now have evolved into
tap shoes. In the fifth BC ancient Greeks followed in the Romans footsteps by
including dance and music into their theatrical plays. PARAGRAPH ABOUT
ROMAN RENAISSANCE ERA Later in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, religious
dramas with chants and poetic lines transformed slowly into musicals as they began
to add music into the dramas. In the 1700s ballad and comic operas, which were
considered early Musicals, grew in popularity throughout Britain, France and
Germany (TheatricalMusical.com). While Musicals
Personal Branding
Personal Branding is already conflicting with Company Branding outside the work
place. A middle school teacher was suspended with pay for making remarks about
her students on Face Book (Norwalk, 2010). A woman was fired after criticizing
her boss on face book ( Fired over Facebook, 2011). A young man was rejected for a
position at Cisco because he tweeted that he had to weigh the fat paycheck against
the drive and work (Popkin, 2009). These examples go on and on. Entire sites have
been dedicated to helping employees build their personal brands without conflicting

Clay Shirky writes in her book Cognitive Surplus of a day where HR departments
will overlook small statements against organizations because in the future most
everyone will have at least made one mistake (2010).
Addressing the issue of conflicts in personal branding in the future will rely heavily
on the individual company policies. Middle managers will need to formulate new
business and functional level strategies. For example they will have to establish
functional level policy s to allow employees to communicate personal brands in a
business oriented fashion. Middle managers will also have to implement company
level restrictions for issues that may harm the company brand. Middle management
will also have to formulate functional level strategies with the HR department. These
strategies will focus on hiring employees with both character in their personal brands
and talent in their resumes. These strategies will be heavily influenced by both
internal factors (the mission statement and culture of the company) and external
factors (the laws, politics, company opportunities, threats, and environment).
Both middle managers and employees of the future will have high levels of
resiliency in order to compete in such an interconnected world. Employees will have
to take on a work life that is never ending, with more responsibilities. In implementing
The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare Essay
Macbeth is the leading character of Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Macbeth, in
which he struggles to deal with the consequences of his actions. Is he a Tragic
Hero? His brutal actions make it very questionable, but yes, Macbeth is a Hero in
his own Tragedy. There are positive connotations to being a tragic hero, the first
being that in order to be one, the character must have one of the starring roles. It is
obvious that Macbeth has a leading part in the play, since not only does it revolve
around him, but also that his name is in the title. There to meet with Macbeth

One of mankind s biggest flaws in arguable giving in to temptation, which is a flaw
that Macbeth has trouble with. This is something that everyone in the audience
would have been able to relate to while watching the play. Another key factor to
being a tragic hero is having a hubris, which in the end proves him or her wrong. I
bear a charmed life, which must not yield To one of woman born. (Shakespeare,
V.viii.149) After being given ambiguous predictions by the three witches, Macbeth
has a certain confidence and believes he cannot be killed. Of course, a tragic hero
must suffer, which again adds to the tragedy of his story and continues to show
how human he is. What hands are here? ha! they pluck out mine eyes! (II.ii.59).
Macbeth suffers psychological trauma after his first kill. He is overwhelmed with
guilt, so much so that he does not even recognize himself. All tragic heroes must
have a downfall, something to get their head out of the clouds. This downfall shows
the hero that they are not invincible, and that they are very much flawed. The wood
began to move (V.v.34). Macbeth s downfall would be when he is under attack, and
another of the witches prophecies becomes a reality. At this point, the audience can
see that what Macbeth though was impossible, (being attacked by a forrest), was just
a disguise. Following their downfall, a tragic hero must develop a new self

The Evolution Of Human Species Essay
In recent years, anthropologists have made great progress in discovering all of the
different kinds of human species. The discovery of a certain early human species,
Australopithecus afarensis was initially credited to the finding of a single individual,
AL 288 1, or Lucy. She has helped anthropologists to understand the diet, anatomy,
environment, sexual dimorphism, the technology or tools used during their time, and
bipedalism of this early hominin species. The evolution of humans is interesting due
to the questions we are trying to find and the answers we might never find. With the
finding of Australopithecus Afarensisand Lucy, we can understand what our early
hominin ancestors were like and the significant changes that were made from them to
us today.
Humans created a theory that millions of years ago humans walked the earth, but it
was not until recently that theory became a fact. In 1974, a partial skeleton was
uncovered in Hadar, Ethiopia, by American paleoanthropologist Donald Johanson.
This skeleton was named AL 288 1 and later given the nickname, Lucy. She
received the name Lucy from a popular song at the time of her discovery, Lucy in

soon determined to be an estimated 3.2 million years old (Dorey Blaxland, 2015).

Annotated Bibliography On Dna Replication
Question 1 a) DNA replication is the process, where a cell passes this DNA
sequence onto other cells when it divides. It is known as mitosis as it must
duplicate its genome so each new cell has a copy. This occurs during interphase.
For the duration of DNA replication the enzyme DNA helicase are significant as
they distinct double stranded DNA into single strands letting each strand to be
copied. DNA polymerase is another important enzyme that starts attaching new
corresponding nucleotides to these patterns. It is done according to the base
pairing rules, A=T, C=G, G=C and T=A. Once the new nucleotides are attached,
two new sister DNA strands are formed same as the original strand. The result is
two identical strands, each of which is half new. b) mRNA is a translation of DNA

The Pros And Cons Of Feminism
Feminism kicked off in 1848 in Seneca Falls when the first Women s Conference
was held. This conference brought about a movement that would only grow larger
with each coming decade. Feminism is defined as the theory of the political,
economic and social equality of the sexes. Now the question of if I would consider
myself a feminist, I would have to answer no. I would describe myself as a free
thinking independent woman and do not want to be labeled under the word
feminist. I don t want to be classified under feminism because I don t fit or agree
with some of today s negative opinions that feminism portrays. One opinion is that
feminists are man haters. I am not a man hater. Upon coming to Sonoma State I
can say I have began to develop my own understandings on how I view the world,
myself, and feminism. I can say that each day I grow in some way from what I see
and understand from this world. Do I believe there are inequalities between men
and women? Absolutely. Do I believe women should receive equal pay as men?
Again, absolutely. Do I believe women should have the same educational
opportunities as men. Yes. I also see that some ideas maybe should not be equal. An
article in the Elite Daily , written by April Lee, she states her thoughts that there are
dangers of comparing men and women and trying to create same the playing field for
both. We might not realize it, but when we make these comparisons, we are openly
admitting that our understanding of how to
Fighting Social Inequality Paper
Fighting social inequality must occur on two fronts: the defensive front (or charity)
and the offensive front (or justice). Just as military tactics often use two fronts to
surround the enemy and win the war, so must we as communities implement a way
to defeat and undermine social inequality. Just as fighting a war on one front is
nearly impossible to win, fighting social inequality with only justice or only charity
will not lead to an end to disparity across the country. Instead, I find it helpful in
viewing justice and charity as two parts of a singular mission that are both essential in
combatting social inequality. Similar to the notion of Think Global, Act Local , we
must act in our communities to assist those in need through charity... Show more

The charity foot is often described as more private or individual actions that seek to

need of some other form of aid both locally and globally. Examples of the charity
foot in action would be soup kitchens, monetary donations, shelters, and other
services working to meet the needs of the people in the community as they exist in
the present moment. The justice foot is often described as getting to the underlying,
structural causes of injustice and inequality by advocating for the rights of
individuals, as well as working to change systems that constantly are putting people in
unjust and oppressive situations. Examples of the justice foot in motion would
include seeking the creation of just laws, honest social structures, and the advocacy
and promotion of peace and assistance for both local and global
Exegetical Paper On Jeremiah 31-31
I chose Jeremiah 31:31 37, and to be honest I do not know why. I found it during
my initial research, and I thought it looked like it would be an easy section of
scripture to tear apart. I think I was drawn into it because it was full of promises
from God, and it is a giant decree from the Lord. While the passage seems fairly
easy to understand on the surface, I quickly realized that there was a lot more under
the surface.
Discovering The Text Jeremiah was a prophet from 628 580 BC. This means that
most of his writings took place during the final siege of Jerusalem. Most of the
book, Jeremiah is calling the nation of Judah to repent, and then announcing the
exile to Babylon. However, chapter 31 takes a drastic change. Chapter 31 is all
about Restoration and the New Covenant. In the first Thirty verses of Chapter 31

It is the first place in the Old Testament that the New Covenant is mentioned. This
covenant would be to the whole, reunited nation of Israel. This New Covenant was
when what God agreed to do in Genesis 3 became a reality in that this new covenant
would be sealed with the blood of Jesus, who is the only mediator between God and
his people. It has been called the Gospel before the Gospel because it is the closest
approach to the New Testament faith in the Old Testament.
Often times, Bible commentators have said that this section of scripture is the apogee
of Jeremiah s spiritual journey. It is also one of the most moving and profoundest
passages in the Bible.
This passage comes at a very important time for Jeremiah and the Jews. The
covenant had caved in because the people habitually broken it. Because of this, a
question had arose, how can a holy God maintain a relationship with a sinful nation
that had been deprived of a country and then sent into captivity? There was only one
solution: a New

The House Of The Scorpion By Nancy Farmer
Everyone needs friends who they can trust and rely on to always have their back.
The House of the Scorpion is a dystopian fiction novel written by Nancy Farmer, is
about a clone, named Matt, of the powerful drug lord, El Patron. When he is
brought into a world ruled by El Patron, he is hated by everyone in the big house,
except for a sweet girl named Maria, who lightens Matt s day with just her
presence, his bodyguard who becomes more like his father, and Celia, the woman
who has taken care of Matt since he was made into a clone. He learns what it is
like to live in a world full of social hierarchy and in his adventure he goes from the
top to the bottom and everywhere in between. He is constantly being judged on who
he is and is learning more about his identity, though mostly learns about loveand
loyalty . In this adventure of The House of the Scorpions, Matt finds that loyalty with
friends is one of the most important things to have. Farmer shows many aspects that
point to this theme.
Matt experiences lots of loyalty and love when he is with Tam Lin. In the
beginning of the book, when Matt chooses Tam Lin to be his bodyguard, he did not
know that he would also become his best friend. Tam Lin would do anything for
Matt, even if it includes saving his life, which he did. When El Patron died, and
Matt was no longer useful, Tam Lin was ordered to kill him, but instead, he helped
him survive and set up a plan for him to escape. At first, Matt had thought that Tam

The Cause Of The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Incident
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Incident was a tragic event that occured due to
poor safety precautions. It occured in New York City on March 25, 1911 on the
eighth and ninth floors of the Asch building and it is the deadliest industrial
disaster of that city and it also considered one of the deadliest in US History. The
factory normally employed about 500 workers, mostly young immigrant women,
who worked nine hours a day on weekdays plus seven hours on Saturdays earning 2
dollars for a 14 hour work day. Several events led up to the Triangle Shirtwaist
Factory Incident. Many workers were demanding shorter hours, better pay, and
safer shops, so they formed a labor union. However, the owners did not want to
succeed to the labor union s pleads and demands because they were terrified that
unions would diminish their authority over the workplace. Despite the owners
unwillingness, many of them succeeded to the labor unions demands because
there was a lot of strikes in companies and they needed their workers for the
upcoming busy work season. However, the owners of the Triangle Shirtwaist
Factory: Max Blanck and Isaac Harris, did not want to succeed to those pleads
because their profits were declining and they did not have enough resources to
please the workers demands. The company sales were declining because their style
of clothing was antiquated and it could not keep up with the new extravagant fashion
trends. There was also a lot of competition from the 500 blouse makers
The Nuclear Crisis Of Hiroshima And Hiroshima
Let us first consider each text s portrayal of the nuclear meltdown at
Grafenrheinfeld. While both texts draw parallels between nuclear accidents and
nuclear warfare, Pausewang s emphasis on the latter highlights a Cold War era fear
of intentional nuclear annihilation. Consider, for example, how the survivors of the
Grafenrheinfeld disaster are publicly called Hibakusha, a direct reference to the
survivors of the 1945 nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. This name,
according to Natalie Eppelsheimer, suggests...no difference between the dangers
of civilian and military nuclear policy: surviving victims of radiation of a nuclear
disaster must live with the same consequences as the surviving victims of an
atomic bomb (23 my translation). Thus, both texts emphasise how civilian use of
nuclear technology carries many of the dangers of military use. But while Hage s
text is content with this association, Pausewang s proceeds still further: the
refugees after the [Second World] War were seen just as unfavourably [as
Grafenrheinfeld s survivors], explains one Hibakusha to another, [e]ven though
they weren t radioactive (92). Here, Die Wolke explicitly equates the threats of
nuclear disaster and warfare, and indeed combines them into an implied threat of
nuclear holocaust: after Hiroshima, warfare is as potentially deadly as a nuclear
disaster, and via Hitler or Chernobyl, each has come to Germany in the last fifty
years. Of course, Pausewang is not alone in drawing this
Integrity In Popular Culture
As Mira Grant once said, the only thing we have in this world that is utterly and
intrinsically ours is our integrity. Humanity exists in society today due to the actions
of the people who came before us, pioneering a way to live by. Literature is a
reflecting mirror of society, which changes slightly throughout the course of history,
in both positive and negative ways, as authors utilize the power of words to comment
on significant aspects of social values. Their works give the audience insight into the
world within past and present cultures. Writers specifically emphasize instructional
and informative qualities, like didacticism, to divulge how social values teach
through example in literary works. Social values, specifically integrity,... Show more

As quoted in the Nordic Research in Music Education, by Petter Dyndahl and Live
Weider Ellefsen, It is precisely the ambiguity and intrinsic inconsistency of identity
that makes it an appropriate concept in the effort to rethink music didactics as
cultural didactics. This direct quote argues that music didactics, or the social values
represented within songs and forms of music, are a multifaceted field of cultural
didactic studies (Dyndahl, Ellefsen 9). Perspectives exhibiting different cultural
studies show an extensive range of ideas that are drawn from the critical lenses of
marxism, feminism, structuralism, and new historicism. Writers incorporate eclectic
techniques to strengthen their writing and emphasize how a single value can be so
impactful from every aspect. In example, greed, a negative social value, impacts not
only one s self, but others directly involved. In Personal values, belief and attitudes ,
pre existing beliefs are shown to be one of the single most influential aspects that
affect how one interacts with others. As stated, If you make assumptions as a worker
then you are denying clients their rights, respect and dignity. This quote reveals how
the didactic aspect of social values is evident not only through literature, but
throughout culture in everyday
The German Peasants War Of 1525
The German Peasants War of 1525 has been seen as both the last great medieval
peasant revolt and as the first modern revolution. For more than 150 years the War
has been the topic of ongoing historical debate. Indeed, it has always been a subject of
contention among historians who seek to determine its relation to the Reformation.
While most Reformation scholars have arrived at a consensus as to the series of
events that transpired during the war, there has not been such agreement regarding
the perplexing inner dynamic of the uprising. Set against the backdrops of both the
German revolutions of 1848 and the political developments that characterized 1970s
Germany, this debate has seen engagement from the historians Friedrich Engels and
Max Steinmetz, who provide a Marxist interpretation that attempts to depict the war
as the high point of the early bourgeois revolution , locating it within a German
revolutionary tradition by citing the socioeconomic tensions that arose through the
peasants oppressive relationship with the feudal lordship of their rural communities.
Departing from the Marxist interpretation, GГјnther Franz has entered into the
debate, defining the revolt as a political revolution of the German peasantestate that
was made possible by the Reformation. Although he acknowledges the troubling
nature of the evident economic difficulties, Franz understands the war as a response
to the changing political structure of 16th century Germany. Submitting his own
Romantic Impact On Napoleon
Napoleon Bonaparte and the wars he fought against Great Britain, the conveniently
named Napoleonic Wars had a lasting and profound impact on British citizens and
society. Napoleon for a brief period had transformed a nation of anarchy and
instability into the most powerful empire in Europe and posed a serious threat to
Britain s perceived dominance and invulnerability. The fear of a Napoleonic invasion
spread across Britain, an event that had it been realised may have been welcomed by
many within the nation. The French general turned emperor was unquestionably the
British governments most imposing enemy but there were many individual Britons
who held Napoleon in much higher esteem than their own monarch/Regent. The
British nation was divided... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He notes that the Lake poets originally revered Napoleon but as the wars continued
they became increasingly conservative and critical of him. He recalls that William
Wordsworth s primary reason for his disillusionment with Napoleon was his 1804
coronation, other Romantics such as Samuel Taylor Coleridge however, were not
so clear about their reasons for resenting Napoleon and Stock states that this
inability to decide upon a definitive opinion characterizes the Romantic
understanding of Bonaparte because the transition from reverence to hatred was
so extreme and unexpected. Like radicals and loyalists, the Romantics also offered
different interpretations of Napoleon in their works especially on the concept of
his humanity . Coleridge, Walter Scott and Robert Southey believed Napoleon to
be an innovative politician and therefore, very human, while Percy Bysshe Shelley
too regarded Napoleon as human but believed his political genius was a fallacy as
he merely reverted France back to monarchy; whereas Lord Byron considered
Napoleon to be a metaphysical being. Stock states that the Romantics also make
quite extensive use of Satan when interpreting Napoleon and Coleridge and Scott
classify him as evil incarnate to the point where they desire his death. Stock argues
that some Roamntics such as William Hazlitt used the Satanic image of Napoleon to
personify him as a revolutionary figure inverting political norms. Despite previously
denigrating him as a mere politician, Coleridge too personifies Napoleon as a
presence rather than a human being and Stock states Hazlitt celebrates Napoleon as
an Idea not an
The Pros And Cons Of Television Shows
If you have ever watched TV, you might notice many commonalities and trends
between many of the TV shows that are on air. The shows usually follow similar
storylines of a protagonist (usually male) who struggles with their own moral
values, usually stirring up trouble for themselves and those around them. Now you
re probably asking yourself: Hm I wonder why so many shows follow similar
patterns? Well the answer to that question is because of YOU! It s all your fault
that TV can be so monotonous and repetitive. You are a part of a giant collective
that drives what TV shows are being shown, what TV shows are being cancelled,
and even when TV shows are being played. You are a part of the audience. The
audience is what drives TV shows to be the entertaining platforms that they are meant
to be, but they are also the most crippling aspect of the televisionitself.
If I wanted to pitch a TV show to a TV network, the script would be immediately
thrown in the trash. This is because I am nowhere to be found in the hierarchy of the
television network. The television hierarchy makes it almost impossible for lesser
known writers and producers to release their work on popular networks. Also, newer
shows do not get as much of a fighting chance as others because these new shows
must compete with other popular TV shows for the best time slots, therefore getting
less viewers, increasing the chance the network pulls the plug on new shows.
When TV networks try to decide what shows to put on

In case you haven t been stalking me as of fifteen seconds ago, I was just dared to go hit on this girl because I may or may not have been checking her out. I mean what do you want me to do she is pretty attractive. Taking my stroll over to the beautiful girl s table, I definitely began to have second thoughts. Moving closer and closer I could see every bit of detail in her hair, her skin, everything. She had a face of an angel. I was definitely having second thoughts I should probably retreat or just run far far far away. As I looked back the guys were watching like a hawk watches its prey. Well you probably heard Scottie s point of view on her well the book is pretty popular. Anyway this ain t about him this is about me. Wow that sounds very self centered of me to say but this is my story. Either way I just walked over to her and well I did feel something weird, almost as if my legs were vibrating and well bad things happened. I almost threw up, however I resisted the urge to regurgitate all over the floor and become the laugh of the year. Well luckily no body fluid came out of me. Well, this was a situation I did not enjoy being in I made a noise that sounded something like hello, did I fool you no, look I am not Scottie I can talk to girls. I simply said, Hi, do you know me? I think we have chemistry together? You get the word play there, no, well she did. She actually laughed at my terrible joke. I had finally won an Olympic gold

It s paranoia and mistrust of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United States (U.S.) has contributed towards the relentless drive for expansion of its military capabilities under the Military First (Songun) policy, this equates to 22% of GDP . This has been an aggressive expansion focussing on its nuclear and missile capabilities. The overt testing of the nuclear capability has caused concern amongst the international community. The political picture is also uncertain; Kim Jong Un continues to try and consolidate his position, under significant political, economic and military instability and a constant threat of regime change. The economic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (3) The humanitarian effect should DPRK suffer state failure. I will draw a conclusion and highlight the pertinent implications of state failure on international security. The impact of a North Korean failure in a regional context would be catastrophic, creating far reaching consequences across a mosaic of issues. It is widely acknowledged that a collapse would lead to civil war, with no central government or recognised regime in power. Regional warlords or former military officials would run large swathes of the country unregulated and with access to a plethora of military hardware including nuclear and, or biological weapons. This may lead to skirmishes or planned incursions across the international boarder using artillery, special forces or WMD. There will be numerous factions loyal to different masters in military, insurgent or criminal terms. There would certainly be a humanitarian disaster, mass fleeing of refugees towards the ROK and Chinese boarders, with a semi starving population of 23 million. As a consequence this would see the ROK quickly enter the conflict with the main objective of stopping the proliferation of the WMD and forming a United Korea . On the back drop of civil war and the associated second and third order effects this would be difficult for the ROK to achieve in isolation. The alliance with the U.S. would be fundamental in delivering a United Korea . The
  • 4. What Causes Sorrow In Frankenstein By Mary Shelley The quote acting as the prompt is an edited version of the line from Ecclesiastes 1:18, and it means that knowledge is what causes sorrow, and wisdom is what brings grief. Knowledge is often defined as having facts or skills based from experience or education. Following that, wisdom is defined as using that knowledge for good judgement. To say that knowledge causes sorrow is to say that education results in sadness, and to say that wisdom brings grief is to say that good judgment results in inner turmoil. In a sense, it s not knowledge that leads to sorrow, but doubt that causes sorrow. Doubt disillusions senses of hope and acceptance that are created by the smallest positive moments, thus causing sorrow. To understand how doubt can do this, an examination of human nature would be most appropriate, and Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is the perfect example for that. In the novel, the Monster had been raised without any knowledge of how the world truly was. He was lost in his own visions for most of his existence, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Had Truman and his commanders shrunk from doing everything possible to force the war to its end, the American people would never have forgiven them. This judgment no doubt mattered more to these leaders than the disapproval of academic historians a half century later, and rightly so. (Nichols 1) As this quote explains, Truman had to send out the message to fire the bombs, or else he would face the doubt of Americans on his ability to protect and run the country against a ruthless foreign force. It was with this fear of doubt that caused him to release the bombs, and make people suffer for the greater good of the country, resulting in the sorrow those who lost members of their family that day, and the sorrow of a loss of life in general for that
  • 5. Security Of Nosql Database Against Intruders Essay Security of NoSQL Database against Intruders Abstract The evolution of distributed web based applications and cloud computing have generated the demand to store voluminous of big data in distributed databases efficiently to offer excessive availability and scalability to users. The new type of database resolves many new challenges especially in large scale and high concurrency applications which are not present in relational database. These new sorts of databases are not relational by using explanations and hence they do not prop up whole SQL performance. As progressively insightful big data is being saved in NoSQL databases, it is essential to preserve higher security measures to ensure safe and trusted communication across the network. In this paper, we describe the security of NoSQL database against intruders which is growing rapidly. This paper also delineates probably the most prominent NoSQL databases and descriptions their security aspects and problems. Keywords: NoSQL, Security, Intruders, Big Data, Authentication, Big table. 1.Introduction NoSQL databases had made for unraveling the Big Data issue by utilizing a distributed system to bring out excellent performance in data storage and retrieval at very large scale. At this scale, pieces of the system often fail and NoSQL is created to handle these failures (Chow, 2013) (Ron, Shulman Peleg, Bronshtein, 2015). Various companies have espouse different sorts of non relational databases, ordinarily alluded to as

The conditions working for decreasing prejudice (e.g., (Aronson, Bridgeman, Geffner, 1978; Schwarzwald, Amir, Crain, 1992) contain equality in social status( the awesome five and Panda were elevated to the same status during those events), the contact between them involved dependence and interdependence (they were told by authority that only cooperation will help them all together defeat the evil warrior and they had to train all together), the contact permitted them to know each other as individuals (they communicated quite a lot and got to know personal traits of each other), there were norms favoring group equality (once the master insisted on Panda being the dragon warrior he received the status of equal), they might have viewed one another as typical of their respective group, but we will never know that for sure. St. George represented an idea Christian knight. He was the embodiment of what men on the crusades should have been like. When the stories about him started circulating people were in awe of how he was represented. Meanwhile, natural growth is letting children play with the other children in the neighborhood instead of organized activities, but not always by choice. My childhood was shaped by concerted cultivation. When I was growing up, my parents enrolled me in many organized activities to do during my free time. I did soccer, basketball, softball, track, gymnastics and Girl Scouts. Every weeknight, I had practice or a Girl Scout meeting and every weekend I had games and tournaments. I did not spend much time with the children around my neighborhood because I was too busy with my activities. My childhood relates best to Garrett Tallingers childhood. Garrett s life revolves around his sports and organized activities and does not get much time to play with the other children in his neighborhood. Although I did not make many friends in my neighborhood, I had many friends in my organized sports and we were all very close. I do feel that even though I grew up through concerted cultivation, I had a good childhood and still got to be a kid. When I was growing up, I had monetary awareness. Monetary awareness means that you are aware of what social class you are in and how much money your parents make compared to other parents. They both see the values of society as being a result of and necessary for civilization, rather than natural phenomena. Both theorists see guilt as stemming from a restriction of humanity s natural urges, Nietzsche believing that it was a tool used by the priests to control the masses. Freud on the other hand thought it developed from a repression of humanity s aggression towards one another. Equally, Freud and Nietzsche show a similar disdain for religion, the former seeing it as a delusional, infantile way to limit the pain and suffering that existence brings with it and the latter, due to what he sees as the transvaluation of values that the Judeo Christian religions have brought about and the perceived cultural inaction that stems from this. As well as this, Nietzsche disliked the apparent inherited debt that comes with Christianity and the obligated guilt from Christ s

Come inside at once, you naughty children... (Barrie 105). Wendy only having knowledge of being a mother from her own, wants to be the best to the Lost Boys. Firstly, I will be questioning whether there is a connection between the viewing of media violence and actual acting upon it. To do this I will analyse the usefulness of the different methods used to approach such as complex issue. To illustrate this I will use examples of different media forms that seem to have been a catalyst for acts of violence. I will then attempt to come to a conclusion on whether less media violence could mean less acts of violence. This post modern society can either have a positive affect or a negative one especially as technology and the media have become more advanced and widespread, for example technology can be used to cure diseases as well as allow terrorist attacks to occur. Postmodernist fear that the media will become so overpowering a dominant that it will create hyper reality whereby the distinctions between image and reality no longer exist (Jewkes, 2004: 26) Research Some argue that watching violence on screen may have a negative effect on the individual and may lead to that individual imitating that act. Many researchers especially psychologist have carried out studies attempting to prove that there is a correlation between the two commonly using experiments with the use of observations (Boyle, 2005). The most common way that researchers go about answering the question is by selecting a group of children, making them watch something which has a level of violence and analyses the way the children react to it after they have watched it (Bandura et al, 1963). There are many flaws when conducting such as study, one of them being that the study highly lacks in reliability. Even if there appears to be a link between media violence and street violence, the results would not be geographically consistent if the study was repeated as they fail to realise that the social situation of every individual is different, (Guanlett, 2001) therefore, generalising the study based

By means of text or numerical key for the encryption can be dangerous because with the several hack attacks that a key can be broken. II.Cipher text: this is the result of the encryption process where we get the cipher text that is in scrambled and unreadable format. III.Algorithm: this is a core part of the cryptography where all transformations occur with some predefined processes, rules and basic mathematical functions. This algorithm is responsible for encipher and decipher a message. IV.Key: secret key that is used to encrypt the message and used as input to the algorithm. And this key is also shared between the sender and the receiver. 3.2Processes used to carry out cryptography I.Encryption: encryption is carried out on the sender side, hence transferred plain text into the cipher text and forwarded over the network. II.Decryption: decryption is carried out on the receiver side to translate the cipher text into the plaintext with the same key that is used at the sender side. 3.3

African Americans, Asians, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and race list as other made up the additional working population (BLS Reports, 2014). Although when looking these different races individually you wouldn t think that they are a large part of the population. But when you are talking about 21% of our workforce, that is a large number. Looking at the number of people by race actually work is also very interesting. Native Hawaiian 70%, Pacific Islanders 66%, Hispanics/Latinos, Asians 64.6%, Caucasians 63.5% , 63.3% of people descending from two or more races, African Americans 61.2%, and American Indian and Alaska Natives 59.6% (BLS Reports, 2014). Over the last three years our school as went from being a primarily caucasian school to a school with a diverse population. I believe this has made our school strong and offered more of an opportunity for the students and staff to emerge and understand the diverse culture we have all around us. Understand and teaching our students will make a student population that will themselves be more knowledgeable and understanding of the

To answer this question you must first ask yourself what a hero is; what comes to your mind when someone says the word. Tchaikovsky, a popular Russian composer, and Persichetti, a 20th century composer, were very popular during their time frames. The composers Tchaikovsky and Persichetti differ in many ways including time period, musical style, and popularity. Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky was born on May 7, 1840 in a small Russian town called Votkinsk, which is located in central Russia. His mother is Russian while his father is French, but Tchaikovsky is well known as Russian. Tchaikovsky s mother was a big piano player. As a result, Tchaikovsky was taught how to play the piano. One of the rising challenges in our rapidly growing world is the destruction of rainforests and how it is slowly ruining the world that we live in. Deforestation has a lot of destructive impacts on the environment that is surrounding us, one of the most important being its effect on the climate. The fast rise in the world s population, calling for high demand of resources, is only hastening the effects of deforestation, which can hopefully be put an end to through the enforcement of a handful of simple, key, and sustainable solutions. Everyone has been told to do this, but I don t think everyone sees the importance of recycling. Sure, a lot of people recycle, but there are a lot that don t. Recycling has many benefits, but the major benefit is less destruction of forests. Again, the rising population calls for many products that are made from trees, mainly paper. Everybody in the world uses paper, whether it be in the form of books, pencils, toilet paper, towels, and even shoes. All these paper products, and more, are a direct result of deforestation, for the trees are taken down and turned into these products. Say you have a whole box of school papers that you don t need anymore, and you want to throw them in the trash. Instead of throwing it in the trash, you should recycle it. When you recycle it, the paper goes to a factory, which adds other products to it, melts it down, and molds it into other products. This process can eventually rule out the need for deforestation, reducing the effects of climate change. Clearly, recycling is one of the many sustainable solutions that can hopefully stop

Fidelity is what drives the story of Odysseus s journey: it is both Odysseus s reason for returning home and the means for him to get home. In the course of the story, Homer dramatizes the nature of fidelity by contrasting different forms of fidelity and their opposites. This essay will examine three forms of fidelity and the roles they play in Odysseus s journey. The most noticeable form of fidelity is sexual fidelity, or faithfulness. Odysseus loves his wife, Penelope, and he wants nothing more than to get back home to her; and for him, the fullest expression of being back with her would be back in bed with her. And yet Odysseus sleeps with a couple of other women during his journey home, and he does so willingly. Describing Odysseus s last day with Calypso, Homer says, And now, withdrawing into the cavern s deep recesses, in each other s arms they lost themselves in love. (book 5, lines 250 251) What they feel is love not just lust, or passion; that they lost themselves shows that they felt it mutually. This is obviously Odysseus sleeping with Calypso willingly and enjoying it. Later in the story, he is unfaithful to Penelope again when he sleeps with Circe: Straightaway she began to swear the oath I required never, she d never do me

She saw, firsthand, the terrible working conditions that young children were sometimes forced into to provide money for their families, and she wanted to do something about it. This is further explored in the Studysync article, Mother Jones: Fierce Fighter for Workers Rights : Images of the child workers Mother Jones had seen stayed with her the torn, bleeding fingers of the breaker boys, the mill children living on coffee and stale bread . • 35. Annotated Bibliography On Dna Replication Question 1 a) DNA replication is the process, where a cell passes this DNA sequence onto other cells when it divides. It is known as mitosis as it must duplicate its genome so each new cell has a copy. This occurs during interphase. For the duration of DNA replication the enzyme DNA helicase are significant as they distinct double stranded DNA into single strands letting each strand to be copied. DNA polymerase is another important enzyme that starts attaching new corresponding nucleotides to these patterns. It is done according to the base pairing rules, A=T, C=G, G=C and T=A. Once the new nucleotides are attached, two new sister DNA strands are formed same as the original strand. The result is two identical strands, each of which is half new. b) mRNA is a translation of DNA into a convertible protein substituting T with U. • 38. Fighting Social Inequality Paper Fighting social inequality must occur on two fronts: the defensive front (or charity) and the offensive front (or justice). Just as military tactics often use two fronts to surround the enemy and win the war, so must we as communities implement a way to defeat and undermine social inequality. Just as fighting a war on one front is nearly impossible to win, fighting social inequality with only justice or only charity will not lead to an end to disparity across the country. Instead, I find it helpful in viewing justice and charity as two parts of a singular mission that are both essential in combatting social inequality. Similar to the notion of Think Global, Act Local , we must act in our communities to assist those in need through charity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The charity foot is often described as more private or individual actions that seek to meet the immediate needs of those who are hungry, unclothed, sick, in prison, or in need of some other form of aid both locally and globally. Examples of the charity foot in action would be soup kitchens, monetary donations, shelters, and other services working to meet the needs of the people in the community as they exist in the present moment. The justice foot is often described as getting to the underlying, structural causes of injustice and inequality by advocating for the rights of individuals, as well as working to change systems that constantly are putting people in unjust and oppressive situations. Examples of the justice foot in motion would include seeking the creation of just laws, honest social structures, and the advocacy and promotion of peace and assistance for both local and global
  • 39. Exegetical Paper On Jeremiah 31-31 I chose Jeremiah 31:31 37, and to be honest I do not know why. I found it during my initial research, and I thought it looked like it would be an easy section of scripture to tear apart. I think I was drawn into it because it was full of promises from God, and it is a giant decree from the Lord. While the passage seems fairly easy to understand on the surface, I quickly realized that there was a lot more under the surface. Discovering The Text Jeremiah was a prophet from 628 580 BC. This means that most of his writings took place during the final siege of Jerusalem. Most of the book, Jeremiah is calling the nation of Judah to repent, and then announcing the exile to Babylon. However, chapter 31 takes a drastic change. Chapter 31 is all about Restoration and the New Covenant. In the first Thirty verses of Chapter 31 The Lord is promising to return His nation to the promised land after the exile in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is the first place in the Old Testament that the New Covenant is mentioned. This covenant would be to the whole, reunited nation of Israel. This New Covenant was when what God agreed to do in Genesis 3 became a reality in that this new covenant would be sealed with the blood of Jesus, who is the only mediator between God and his people. It has been called the Gospel before the Gospel because it is the closest approach to the New Testament faith in the Old Testament. Often times, Bible commentators have said that this section of scripture is the apogee of Jeremiah s spiritual journey. It is also one of the most moving and profoundest passages in the Bible. This passage comes at a very important time for Jeremiah and the Jews. The covenant had caved in because the people habitually broken it. Because of this, a question had arose, how can a holy God maintain a relationship with a sinful nation that had been deprived of a country and then sent into captivity? There was only one solution: a New

  • 42. The Cause Of The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Incident The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Incident was a tragic event that occured due to poor safety precautions. It occured in New York City on March 25, 1911 on the eighth and ninth floors of the Asch building and it is the deadliest industrial disaster of that city and it also considered one of the deadliest in US History. The factory normally employed about 500 workers, mostly young immigrant women, who worked nine hours a day on weekdays plus seven hours on Saturdays earning 2 dollars for a 14 hour work day. Several events led up to the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Incident. Many workers were demanding shorter hours, better pay, and safer shops, so they formed a labor union. However, the owners did not want to succeed to the labor union s pleads and demands because they were terrified that unions would diminish their authority over the workplace. Despite the owners unwillingness, many of them succeeded to the labor unions demands because there was a lot of strikes in companies and they needed their workers for the upcoming busy work season. However, the owners of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory: Max Blanck and Isaac Harris, did not want to succeed to those pleads because their profits were declining and they did not have enough resources to please the workers demands. The company sales were declining because their style of clothing was antiquated and it could not keep up with the new extravagant fashion trends. There was also a lot of competition from the 500 blouse makers
  • 43. The Nuclear Crisis Of Hiroshima And Hiroshima Let us first consider each text s portrayal of the nuclear meltdown at Grafenrheinfeld. While both texts draw parallels between nuclear accidents and nuclear warfare, Pausewang s emphasis on the latter highlights a Cold War era fear of intentional nuclear annihilation. Consider, for example, how the survivors of the Grafenrheinfeld disaster are publicly called Hibakusha, a direct reference to the survivors of the 1945 nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. This name, according to Natalie Eppelsheimer, suggests...no difference between the dangers of civilian and military nuclear policy: surviving victims of radiation of a nuclear disaster must live with the same consequences as the surviving victims of an atomic bomb (23 my translation). Thus, both texts emphasise how civilian use of nuclear technology carries many of the dangers of military use. But while Hage s text is content with this association, Pausewang s proceeds still further: the refugees after the [Second World] War were seen just as unfavourably [as Grafenrheinfeld s survivors], explains one Hibakusha to another, [e]ven though they weren t radioactive (92). Here, Die Wolke explicitly equates the threats of nuclear disaster and warfare, and indeed combines them into an implied threat of nuclear holocaust: after Hiroshima, warfare is as potentially deadly as a nuclear disaster, and via Hitler or Chernobyl, each has come to Germany in the last fifty years. Of course, Pausewang is not alone in drawing this
  • 44. Integrity In Popular Culture As Mira Grant once said, the only thing we have in this world that is utterly and intrinsically ours is our integrity. Humanity exists in society today due to the actions of the people who came before us, pioneering a way to live by. Literature is a reflecting mirror of society, which changes slightly throughout the course of history, in both positive and negative ways, as authors utilize the power of words to comment on significant aspects of social values. Their works give the audience insight into the world within past and present cultures. Writers specifically emphasize instructional and informative qualities, like didacticism, to divulge how social values teach through example in literary works. Social values, specifically integrity,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As quoted in the Nordic Research in Music Education, by Petter Dyndahl and Live Weider Ellefsen, It is precisely the ambiguity and intrinsic inconsistency of identity that makes it an appropriate concept in the effort to rethink music didactics as cultural didactics. This direct quote argues that music didactics, or the social values represented within songs and forms of music, are a multifaceted field of cultural didactic studies (Dyndahl, Ellefsen 9). Perspectives exhibiting different cultural studies show an extensive range of ideas that are drawn from the critical lenses of marxism, feminism, structuralism, and new historicism. Writers incorporate eclectic techniques to strengthen their writing and emphasize how a single value can be so impactful from every aspect. In example, greed, a negative social value, impacts not only one s self, but others directly involved. In Personal values, belief and attitudes , pre existing beliefs are shown to be one of the single most influential aspects that affect how one interacts with others. As stated, If you make assumptions as a worker then you are denying clients their rights, respect and dignity. This quote reveals how the didactic aspect of social values is evident not only through literature, but throughout culture in everyday
  • 45. The German Peasants War Of 1525 The German Peasants War of 1525 has been seen as both the last great medieval peasant revolt and as the first modern revolution. For more than 150 years the War has been the topic of ongoing historical debate. Indeed, it has always been a subject of contention among historians who seek to determine its relation to the Reformation. While most Reformation scholars have arrived at a consensus as to the series of events that transpired during the war, there has not been such agreement regarding the perplexing inner dynamic of the uprising. Set against the backdrops of both the German revolutions of 1848 and the political developments that characterized 1970s Germany, this debate has seen engagement from the historians Friedrich Engels and Max Steinmetz, who provide a Marxist interpretation that attempts to depict the war as the high point of the early bourgeois revolution , locating it within a German revolutionary tradition by citing the socioeconomic tensions that arose through the peasants oppressive relationship with the feudal lordship of their rural communities. Departing from the Marxist interpretation, GГјnther Franz has entered into the debate, defining the revolt as a political revolution of the German peasantestate that was made possible by the Reformation. Although he acknowledges the troubling nature of the evident economic difficulties, Franz understands the war as a response to the changing political structure of 16th century Germany. • 46. Romantic Impact On Napoleon Napoleon Bonaparte and the wars he fought against Great Britain, the conveniently named Napoleonic Wars had a lasting and profound impact on British citizens and society. Napoleon for a brief period had transformed a nation of anarchy and instability into the most powerful empire in Europe and posed a serious threat to Britain s perceived dominance and invulnerability. The fear of a Napoleonic invasion spread across Britain, an event that had it been realised may have been welcomed by many within the nation. The French general turned emperor was unquestionably the British governments most imposing enemy but there were many individual Britons who held Napoleon in much higher esteem than their own monarch/Regent. The British nation was divided... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He notes that the Lake poets originally revered Napoleon but as the wars continued they became increasingly conservative and critical of him. He recalls that William Wordsworth s primary reason for his disillusionment with Napoleon was his 1804 coronation, other Romantics such as Samuel Taylor Coleridge however, were not so clear about their reasons for resenting Napoleon and Stock states that this inability to decide upon a definitive opinion characterizes the Romantic understanding of Bonaparte because the transition from reverence to hatred was so extreme and unexpected. Like radicals and loyalists, the Romantics also offered different interpretations of Napoleon in their works especially on the concept of his humanity . Coleridge, Walter Scott and Robert Southey believed Napoleon to be an innovative politician and therefore, very human, while Percy Bysshe Shelley too regarded Napoleon as human but believed his political genius was a fallacy as he merely reverted France back to monarchy; whereas Lord Byron considered Napoleon to be a metaphysical being. Stock states that the Romantics also make quite extensive use of Satan when interpreting Napoleon and Coleridge and Scott classify him as evil incarnate to the point where they desire his death. Stock argues that some Roamntics such as William Hazlitt used the Satanic image of Napoleon to personify him as a revolutionary figure inverting political norms. Despite previously denigrating him as a mere politician, Coleridge too personifies Napoleon as a presence rather than a human being and Stock states Hazlitt celebrates Napoleon as an Idea not an
  • 47. The Pros And Cons Of Television Shows If you have ever watched TV, you might notice many commonalities and trends between many of the TV shows that are on air. The shows usually follow similar storylines of a protagonist (usually male) who struggles with their own moral values, usually stirring up trouble for themselves and those around them. Now you re probably asking yourself: Hm I wonder why so many shows follow similar patterns? Well the answer to that question is because of YOU! It s all your fault that TV can be so monotonous and repetitive. You are a part of a giant collective that drives what TV shows are being shown, what TV shows are being cancelled, and even when TV shows are being played. You are a part of the audience. The audience is what drives TV shows to be the entertaining platforms that they are meant to be, but they are also the most crippling aspect of the televisionitself. If I wanted to pitch a TV show to a TV network, the script would be immediately thrown in the trash. This is because I am nowhere to be found in the hierarchy of the television network. The television hierarchy makes it almost impossible for lesser known writers and producers to release their work on popular networks. Also, newer shows do not get as much of a fighting chance as others because these new shows must compete with other popular TV shows for the best time slots, therefore getting less viewers, increasing the chance the network pulls the plug on new shows. When TV networks try to decide what shows to put on
