Large Bakers
Large Bakers
Memo
To: Senior Management
From: Gregg Gregson
Date: October 16, 2013
Re: Distribution Analysis and Recommendation Summary
In aligning with senior management s initiative to reduce stock out to 1.5%, alongside
implementing a variable lead time order cycle, Large Bakers will achieve an annual cost savings
valued at $194,000.
Background Information
Given Large Bakers Management initiative that the possibility of stock out be reduced to 1.5%, the
following analysis depicts which of the following options Large Bakers should utilize throughout
the company s supply distribution network to ensure efficiency and valued cost savings are
achieved.
The two options are as follows:
Regular, 25 car shipments, spaced 14 days ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recommendation
As the manager of Large Baker s supply chain department, it is recommended by implementing
option 2, a variable lead time, buffering against variation in lead time into the company s supply
chain distribution network that Large Bakers will achieve approximately $194,000 annually.
With this alternative Large Bakers will keep a close eye on production level and order the 25 cars
at variable lead time. As a result, efficient production will allow Large Bakers to save on decreased
inventory costs as well as achieve greater efficiency in utilization of key transport times to align
with consumer demand.

Safety Stock Required Determination
Known Research:
Flour usage to meet demand can be taken at an average of 2,000 tonnes every 2 weeks, with a
standard deviation of 300 tonnes.
Variable order cycle lead time from placement to receiving of the order = 4 days.
If an absolutely regular 14 day shipping cycle is followed the railway will cut its rate by $5.00 per
tonne.
Under the variable order cycle the freight rate saving will be only $4.50 per tonne.
Demand Varies:
Level of production required: 98.5%
98.5 corresponds to 2.17 standard deviation
Standard deviation of demand 300 tons
Safety stock required: 2.17 x 300 tons = 651 tonnes
Lead time Varies:
Level of protection required = 98.5%

Rites of Passage Essay
Rites of Passage Every day someone enters into a rite of passage whether it be by starting school, a
new job, marriage, a confirmation or communion rites of passage are common place. Two totally
different cultures have totally different rituals and rites of passage. The Apache would most
definitely have incredibly unique rituals compared to rural Maine and the catholic cultures therein.
The best way to see the differences is to compare the two different cultures.
Each ritual occurs in a holy place, the Apache on ritual grounds and the Confirmation rights at a
specific congregation. The person who is about to participate in confirmation has gone to months
of classes to prepare for this day, CCD it is titled and it is typically on a ... Show more content on

The whole community reaffirms their identity through the dance. Saturday is specifically
dedicated to the godmother while Sunday is the godfather s day. The girl, while awake is never
allowed to stop dancing, even on her knees at the end when she has to prove that she is fully
ready for womanhood. She is painted on her face and must stand up only with the aid of eagle
feathers. The gifts that are given are of varying value, but they definitely don t all have to do with
the religious purpose, TV s VCR s and other electronic devices are given here.
The confirmation is a much different ritual. It is not individual. There is a whole group of kids
going through the ritual at the same time. They all have sponsors standing next to, or behind
them during the whole ritual. The main difference of immediate comparison to be made is that
of the girl speaking and saying she will remember the ritual for the rest of her life. Here, about 8
years later, I don t even remember specifics about the rite of confirmation. The family time had
during a ritual such as this can not be had during normal everyday experiences. The whole lot to be
confirmed marches in, marriage style and lines up in the first two rows of the church. The priest
then says a few words and the confirmation mass continues as normal mass. With communion and
all the normal prayers from the bible along with a few readings picked specifically for confirmation

Catholic Social Teaching Research Paper
The message of Jesus Christ and the Church is reflected though the eight Catholic Social Teaching
principles. The purpose of the eight principles is to integrate faith and influence our relationship
with God. The primary principle is the life and dignity of the human person. The first Catholic
Social Teaching affirms that the children of Godis sacred and valuable from the time of conception
until death. For instance, unborn children, homeless people, and students are all equal in dignity.
Additionally, the Catholic Churchdefends the dignity of each person, since God created people to
love and serve him. Overall, the first Catholic Social Teaching principle can be applied to my four
years at Maria Regina High School. The Respect Human Life Club at Maria Regina High School
promotes the dignity of a person, which is the foundational principle of... Show more content on

For instance, every morning, Ms. Brennan recites a communal prayer with my class and prays for
family members and friends. Prayer brings a connection between the sanctity of human life and
dignity. Together, as a class, we pray for the well being of each person and to keep us away from
distractions. Moreover, in the theology curriculum, the religion teachers at Maria Regina mention
about the importance in protecting the lives of the innocent, including newborns and homeless
people. These sacred individuals are voiceless in the community and should be protected by people.
In junior year, Mrs. Laino, my theology teacher, spoke about the topic of abortion and the views of
the Catholic Church. Even though the Catholic Church condemns abortion, many mothers choose
to abort their child. However, there are housing projects that help women rethink their decision to
abort. Ultimately, my theology teachers have instilled in me the importance of the lives of humans
by explaining the Catholic Social

The Performance Of A Company
INTRODUCTION
The performance of a company is based on multiple internal factors and the most important one, lies
on the day to day operations of the business. It comes down to maximizing profit and minimizing
cost by operating efficiently to secure profits that can support the growth of the company. One of
the key component of economic growth, is productivity. Low productivity can affect income, hence
purchasing power or investment opportunities. With minimal losses, companies are likely to
generate profits and improve on sales performance by optimizing their resources. Consequently,
reducing losses is becoming a fundamental element to gain competitiveness in the current global
economy. Companies seek to save time, money, energy and... Show more content on

It is more practical for instance, for a delivery truck driver to make his round when there is less
traffic jam, to save time and fuel.
The lean practice would enable the driver to gather relevant information, put together a
comprehensive operating plan and establish a set of standard operating procedures (SOP) to
ensure compliance within the organisation. The SOPs will be updated as opportunities for
improvements arise. Employees are encouraged to take initiatives to overcome their day to day
challenges and proper training of employees play a key role as well as empowerment. This
principle is also referred to as lean fulfillment at work. It consists of entrusting, inspiring and
motivating employees at work.
The lean practice advocates for the creation of a more value added system geared towards customer
satisfaction and employee empowerment for sustainable improvements. This approach is in clear
contrast with the systematic breakdown of labor Taylorism and Fordism in which the worker is
like a transformed machine. They are specialised in one particular skill and develop a set of
conditioned reflexes which can lead to alienation and monotony at work. The employee is not part
of the decision process. He/she takes directions from management.
Lean includes a set of tools and technologies for improving processes and services. The implement
in an organization would be to develop methods that are both

St. Joseph s Motivation
Motivation
Motivation for parish staff to continue work at St. Joseph s resides in their desire to foster the
mission of the Church both on the broad level and on the more specific level of St. Joseph s. We
felt the fulfillment of the parish staff strongly. While working at the parish is indeed a job, we
experienced a mentality that staff members felt privileged to work at St. Joseph s. One of the
accountants, Cathy Bohnen, stated she looks forward to coming in to St. Joseph s. We believe this
supports the notion that the environment at St. Joseph s is one which encourages and supports its
staff members simply by creating an environment conducive to the work expected of staff.
The parish nurtures this innate motivation to work for the Church in several ways; first, there is
daily morning prayer for the staff. Whoever is around and desires to participate gathers at the front
desk where a short prayer reflection occurs. In addition, Fr. Creagan encourages daily Mass; these
practices spiritually nourish the staff members. It would seem natural for this community to exist

Joseph s in West St. Paul is well oriented toward the future. They are currently in the process of
evaluating their 2013 long range plan with the aim of starting work on a new long range plan. Fr.

capital improvements to the school and evangelization of parishioners especially those whose
children have graduated from the school. One thing that stood out most was the willingness of Fr.
Creagan and his staff to continually evaluate and implement new strategies within St. Joseph s.
This was true both within the larger parish and within the community of the office. It is through this
business practice that St. Joseph s experiences great success. Additionally, the effectiveness of this

Descartes Argument For The Existence Of Human Being
In his meditation II, concerning the nature of the human mind, Descartes aims to provide an
argument for the existence of human being. Since one knows that he/she is or exists, Descartes
argues that this awareness of our own existence must also contain the understanding of our true
nature. By identifying the first item of knowledge that is valid and certain Descartes derives the
criteria for evaluating knowledge.
Assuming that the source of our knowledge cannot rely on the senses, Descartes makes an attempt
to rebuild the complex system of knowledge upon material he can find within the contents of his
own mind. The Second Meditation begins with an assumption that one is committed to suspect
judgment with respect to anything which contains any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He further states that if I know that I am, then I must also know what I am. Thereby he argues that
an understanding of my true nature must be contained implicitly in the content of my awareness.
Since I became certain of my existence by questioning the sensory information and the existence of
a material world, none of the apparent features of my human body can have been crucial for my
understanding of myself. But all that is left is my thought itself, so Descartes concluded that I am
thing that thinks...thing that doubts, understands, affirms, denies, wills, refuses and that also
imagines and senses (Med. II, p. 537). In Descartes s terms, I am a substance whose inseparable
attribute (or entire essence) is thought (mind), with all its modes: doubting, willing, conceiving and
believing. So completely I am identified with my conscious awareness, Descartes claimed, that if I
were to stop thinking altogether, it would follow that I no longer existed at all. At this point,
nothing else about human nature can be determined with such perfect

I Know It Was An Accident And She Didn t Mean
I know it was an accident and she didn t mean to hurt Ashleigh. I know it was bad luck. I know
Ashleigh should not have got in the car. But Jo needs to be punished by the law...I want the law,
the community to say it was wrong... Antonello paused, but I don t want to make it any harder for
her than it has to be. I felt sorry for her when I saw her at the Bridge. You re right, she s suffering
too. They had talked about it for a long time and they agreed to write a short statement about their
granddaughter, about her beauty and her potential, her intelligence, the joy she bought to their lives,
and about their sadness and grief.
On the way from the carpark to the courtroom that morning, Rae said, I hope she gets a long
sentence. I know I should be more forgiving. That I should be moving on, and that I should think
about what Ashleigh might have wanted. I m trying not to hate her but she has to be punished...
and I don t want to see her again, never. I want her to be banished. I don t want to walk around
dreading that I might run into her, that Jane or Alex might run into her.
Rae and Alex were coming back to themselves, slowly. They were back to parenting Jane, and they
were talking to each other again, occasionally touching even in public, winking at each other when
something Antonello or Paolina said seemed old fashioned or tiresome or repetitive.
In the few months between his meeting with Jo at the Bridge and the court case, Antonello made

Three Reasons For The Allies s Success In The Invasion
D Day was a major event in history and there are lots of reasons why the Allies had success in the
invasion. In this essay I will focus on three reasons I believe to be the most significant to victory.
Those reasons are Air Supremacy, Unique and adapted tanks and Operation Fortitude South. D Day
tanks were specialised to fit the environment of Normandy while still being effective in combat. Air
Supremacy was crucial to distract the Germans with the gliders, paratroopers, bombers, and fake
dummies. Operation Fortitude South was a massive and successful deception plan to confuse the
German into thinking the invasion would come at the narrowest part of the channel.
Air Supremacy was crucial for supporting the invasion and confusing the germans. It was something
the Allies needed to have a successful invasion. Before dawn on the 6th of June 1944, paratroopers
and gliders were deployed inland above Normandy. Only a few hours later the beach landings
arrived which totally confused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was a deception plan that was part of a bigger Operation called Operation Bodyguard, containing
many different deception plans. Fortitude South was commanded by General Bernard Montgomery
and the 21st Army group. Being commanded by such an important general, the Nazis fell for the
rouse and fortified the area around Calais. Within Fortitude there were makeshift planes, inflatable
tanks and artillery as well as fake equipment. The Germans took the bait mostly because Fortitude
was located around the narrowest part of the channel where it would be the easiest place of all to
invade from. The Nazis actually thought at first that the preparation for the actual invasion was
rouse. This plan played an important role in the invasion because it allowed the Allied Powers to
catch the Germans by surprise and to completely disorientate them thinking that the actual invasion
was just a raid but they realised too

The Problem Within Fice Of Appeals Essay
Describe the Problem: Describe the situation surrounding your problem/project in detail and include
the stakeholders, their expectations, and the impact of the project on them.
The situation surrounding the problem within the Office of Appeals is adapting from seeing things
as they are to seeing things as they could be. It is time to move into the fast pace and changing
technology world. The Office of Appeals must be equipped with today s technology to ensure that
our beneficiaries and stakeholders receive information and assistance as quickly and efficiently as
possible. By instituting a new tracking system, the Division of Medicaid could greatly improve the
quality or services it provides to its beneficiaries and stakeholders.
In my opinion, it is the desire of the beneficiary to receive the results of their application in a timely
manner. A new appealtracking system would minimize the time in providing hearing notification to
the beneficiaries we serve. By utilizing the most recent program software, it will allow the Office of
Appeals to thoroughly track an appeal from the beginning to the final administrative decision.
Identify Major Issues: Describe the major issues, both current and historical that may or have

Poor Electricity Supply And Lack Of Internet Connectivity
3.1. 3 Poor Electricity Supply and Lack of Internet Connectivity
Lack of constant supply of electricity has also been identified by many researchers as a major
barrier to a successful wider implementation and adoption of EHR in this region (Oluoch, et al.,
2012; Awokola, et al., 2012; Pantuvo et al., 2011). For instance, Awokola and colleagues reported
that for many months, they could not use the EHR consistently because of constant power outage.
On some occasions, the power packs in some central processing units of the table top computers got
damaged and had to be replaced. In addition, Pantuvo et al. (2011) stated that many hospitals in this
region do not have access to constant electricity supply. In fact, many hospitals depend mainly on
the alternative power supply commonly called generator for their operations. Due to the
infrastructure problems throughout the country and lack of guarantee of always on internet
connection or even ensure an uninterrupted electrical supply, nationwide adoption/ wider
implementation of EHR in Nigeria may not be possible (Chaplin et al., 2015). Furthermore, the
study conducted on the use of health information and communication technologies (HICTs) by
health workers in seven state hospitals and a private hospital in the North Eastern Zone, Ogun
State, Nigeria. Reported that only one of the hospitals examined was connected to the internet and
none of them have a website (Ajiboye, Adekoya, Alawiye, Oyedipe, 2014). Jimoh, Pate and Lin

The Effectiveness Of Virtual Media
The Effectiveness of Virtual Media In the world of learning nowadays, there are many ways to
acquire knowledge other than schools and teachers. Learning an instrument can take place beyond
the traditional classroom setting. As technology improves over the years, learning can take place
not only in a teacher to students setting but also from a vast amount of resources on the internet
and digital media. During the course of ten weeks, I used various online resources to learn how to

By practicing easy piano songs such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars and O Christmas Tree , I
became much familiarized with the position of each key and comfortable with pressing the keys
without lifting my whole hand. Needless to say, I would not be able to figure out how the piano
works if I did not receive any kind of instruction. The first thing I did was to search for YouTube
videos because it is an excellent choice to learn almost anything, not just instruments. YouTube
not only teaches the viewers by demonstrating on how to complete a particular task, but also uses
videos to help the viewers visualize what is going on. There was a variety of piano videos that
were made specifically for beginners like me. There was also variation between each videos
depending on who the instructor was and in which angle it was shot. Generally, I chose the
videos that contained a well experienced instructor instead of an amateur, and a good camera
angle that clearly showed all the piano keys. After this learning experience, I am confident that I
am no longer a beginner. Although instructions from the videos were easy to follow, there were
still some challenges that I encountered during my practices that could not be solved by the
internet resources entirely. Having questions meant that I would have to comment on the video
and wait for an answer or look for a new video in order to find solution. Either method is not

How Investment Is Important For Job Creation And Growth Of...
Investment is key to job creation and growth. When Germany and Pakistan signed a bilateral
investment treaty in 1959, it showed the world how modern trade and investment agreements
among countries can be concluded to protect foreign investment ( arbitration game | The
Economist, n.d.). Since then, there have been over 3000 trade and investment agreement between
180 countries. Many of these agreements contain a mechanism called Investor State Dispute
Settlement (ISDS), which allows a foreign investor to invoke arbitration against the host

They are also not bound by a legal precedent system and enjoy wide discretion. The tribunalists are
not salaried but paid by the parties (foreign investors or host government), which results in
incentivizing a pro investor bias among tribunalists. According to the Fair and Equitable Treatment
(FET), foreign investors alone enjoy broadly interpreted substantive rights which are also vague.
Not only this poses a threat to the environmental, health and financial protections but also give
privileges to foreign investors over domestic firms. Domestic firms can launch ISDS cases using
their foreign subsidiaries against their home government. Treaty shopping is another concern as
foreign investors can reshuffle their corporate structure or establish new subsidiary to access
ISDS ( Do the Commission s reform proposals for ISDS really solve the problem? Stop TTIP Stop
TTIP, n.d.).
Although, there is a lot of discussion around reforming the ISDS clause, there are sound reasons
why most states still embrace the ISDS provisions in their trade and investment agreements. The
domestic quality of legal protections varies widely among states with some of the legal systems not
functioning within the acceptable standard of fairness despite treaty obligations. We do see that the
largest number of ISDS disputes have

How does phonics develop early reading and how should phonics be taught?
The most important skill any child can leave primary school with is the ability to read
independently and effectively for meaning. (DFE National Literacy Strategy)
Reading has become an integral part of our lives; within the world we live in today we rely
heavily on information and environmental text. It is important that from an early age Children are
immersed in books everyday. With parents reading short stories to there children daily it will be
inevitable that those children will stand a better chance at becoming stronger fluent readers.

They can also use this technique to pull apart those sounds that would help with spelling of words.
For example hat = h a t. (Rowlingson) Whereas Analytical phonics is the complete opposite as they
will start with a whole word and analyse a part of it. In English there are 44 sounds (Phonemes)
which are written using 26 letters of the alphabet (Browne 2011, p27) There are many more
Graphemes than Phonemes with most phonemes being represented by a number of different
graphemes.
Synthetic phonics can be taught in many ways. The Primary Framework for Literacy (DfES,
2006a) gives a progressive plan on how to teach phonics. I found during my time with
Foundation year 2 s the teacher I was working with concentrated on implementing four new
letters every week as well as recapping what they had learnt from the previous week. I asked her
if it worked well and she certainly seemed to think so. Before she would be doing a new letter a
day, although this would allow her to teach at a good pace she noticed the children were
struggling to remember all the letters and sounds they would learn. Because of this she had to
revise the way she was teaching the phonics to go at a pace the children were comfortable with.
She revised her plan so that every day her children would recap over the letters they had
previously been taught. I noticed that however much planning was in place that it was always best
to go by how the children would cope and over time you will

OPEC Has Been Waring Its Role on Oil Markets
The largest organization to control and impact oil suppliers is the Organization of the Petroleum

During the 1970s, it was Golden age for OPEC. Due to Arab oil embargo in 1973 and he outbreak

Bigger Historical Context
I personally think out of the three novels we read this semester, Bigger is more part of his
historical context. I feel that if I was in Biggers s shoes during the 1930 s during that historical
period, it would have been very easy for me to fall into what Bigger did. Bigger was stuck in a
system where only racism, crime, violence and injustice surrounded his world. He felt the only
way he could continue living in a world where he would never be accepted, it was easier to
create fear amongst white people. There comes a time where the frustration gets to someone
knowing that no matter what you do in your life, your destiny will always follow you. For
Bigger his destiny was to be a person of color who was criticized by what he look from the
outside. The other two novels that we read during the semester, I feel Battle Royale was also
based on a historical period just like The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. There were a lot of events
occurring such as the hypocritical Japanese government that was taken place. The Food and Drug
Act that came about and the capitalist government that took advantage of the circumstances of
immigrants during that era. I agree that all these 3 main characters do belong in their historical

guard which is mostly for smaller players. Magic also worked hard and stayed determined
whether it was at basketball or school. Magic defied all expectations after being drafted as a first

for years. However, his affairs with other men during his basketball career, which was his
presumed cause of HIV, put many question marks on his overall character. Magic Johnson sets
an example for people and children today. Despite all of his hardships in life, he did not give up.
Given how easy losing hope is, Magic s character has stayed with him. Even after getting the
announcement that his career is over, he still powers though all the negatives in life and even

In the business world companies are always trying to maximize their earning potential by
strategically investing in short term financing. In terms of finance short term may mean months or
even a couple of years. The type of finance method that is used is contingent on the specific
needs of the corporation. These methods include trade credit, bank credit, financing through
commercial paper, foreign borrowing, and the use of collateral, accounts receivable financing,
inventory financing and hedging to reduce borrowing risk. Trade credit is the practice of
purchasing goods now and paying for them later. Trade credit is widely used and is the least
expensive and most convenient form of short term financing (McHugh, McHugh Nickels, 1999, p.
573). When a company purchases goods on credit an invoice is received outlining the terms of

How To Get Rid Of Cars In Cities Essay
AGREE Cities are known for being packed with cars and people, but Taras Grescoe argues in her
New York Times article that cities should be made car free. Cars are obviously one of the most
popular choices for going from one place to another, but more recently cars have also become a
popular weapon in terrorist attacks. Cars are easily accessible, which makes them an
unsuspecting, instrument of mass murder, This was recently demonstrated in Charlottesville, VA,
where a 20 year old man has been accused of ramming his Dodge Challenger into a crowd of
people during protests, killing one person and injuring 19 more. The most obvious solution to this
problem would be to ban cars in cities all together. There are many other ways to get from one...

According to Taras Grescoe in her New York Times article, car attacks have become an
increasingly common mode of terrorism. Although this might be true, that does not mean that cities
should get rid of cars altogether. Even though cars might be turning into a weapon, they still stand
to be a popular and efficient mode of transportation. Out of the thousands of cars that go through
big cities everyday, In the last three years, at least 14 vehicle ramming attacks, have happened in
Western cities. Thousands of cars safely go through cities, but only about five car attacks happen
per year. Banning cars in might stop these attacks, but it might cause other problems with thousands
of people relying on their cars to get them from one place to another. Banning cars might also help
the environment, but an increasing amount of cars are already becoming more environmentally
friendly. In more recent years, there has been a large increase in the amount of electric and fuel
efficient cars, which is helping to prevent dangerous levels of pollution. No matter what the reason
is, banning cars in cities is not going to do anything besides cause more

This paper proposes that the development of the tourism accommodation sector in Vietnam, since

70). In 2006, there were 234,000 people employed directly in tourism jobs in Vietnam and
510,000 whose jobs indirectly depended on tourism (John, 2006). According to World Travel and
Tourism Council and Oxford Economic Forecasting, Vietnam s tourism sector is expected to
experience the sixth highest growth rate of countries in the world between 2007 and 2016 (
Vietnam s Tourism Grows, 2006). Aside from this quantifiable growth, tourism in Vietnam also
continues to change in character. New tourism niches, new types of tourism attractions and
enterprises and new kinds of tourists have been appearing in Vietnam since 1986. Doi moi is an
ongoing process that is reflected in all aspects of the Vietnamese society, economy and politics.
3
Position and Methodology
This paper presents two primary positions: (1) changes in the tourism accommodation sector in
Vietnam since the beginning of the doi moi programme have been characterised and, to a certain
extent, driven by the dynamic interactions between state owned enterprises, foreign direct
investment and domestic private operators in this sector, and (2) these changes are linked to the
political, social and economic changes occurring in Vietnam within this period of transition. To
articulate these positions in detail, the author has divided the development of Vietnam s
accommodation market since the beginning of doi moi in 1986 into five periods, each of which

Race And Gender Equality In America
Have we really came far in the fight for racial and gender equality in America? We have made

The North Vietnamese Army ( Nva ) And The Vietcong
The United States of America, one of the most powerful nations in the world at the time, was
completely unprepared for the war that it had joined in Vietnam. The terrain was unlike any we
had ever fought in. From mountains to jungles to rice paddies, it was wet, hot, cold, and
completely unforgiving. To say that the political situation was tenuous would be a drastic
understatement. Not only could officials not make up their minds, neither could the general
populace. The media had an influence in this war that was heretofore unseen. All of these
factors were a great obstacle in and of themselves and then we put into play the greatest obstacle
of all: the enemy. This was an enemy like we had never seen. The North Vietnamese Army
(NVA) and the Vietcong (VC) were fast, agile, adaptable, and extremely unpredictable. The VC
hid among the common populace and fought like demons. The NVA were well supplied, well
organized, and did not restrict themselves the way many large armies do. This forced us to have
to rapidly adapt and develop new tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) in order to counter
all of these obstacles. Due to these needs and the rapidly advancing technology and versatility of
helicopters, the Air Cavalry was born. The Air Cav was composed of several types of airframes
including transport aircraft, attack aircraft, and reconnaissance aircraft. The reconnaissance aircraft
were also known as Aeroscouts and were known for their boldness, audacity,

Function Of A Reflection On Social Media
In this reflection I will be talking about social media and the ways that I personally use social
media in order to analyze and have an understanding so that I can hopefully improve my social
media competence. The types of social media outlets I have are: Reddit, Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, and Snapchat. I don t really postanything on Reddit, Facebook, and Snapchat but on
Instagram I try to not post photos with myself in it because I want my followers to see the world
I see but the captions I put are usually not really relative to the photo and usually meme
sounding. On Twitter I mostly retweet stuff that I think my friends would enjoy like articles or
cool announcements and I make polls letting them decided what I should do or where to travel
next. Not much thought goes into deciding what I post, I usually decide on the quality of the
photo. If the quality of the photo is nice then usually the picture is just as nice. What I try to
show my followers is the cool places that I go to or all the neat stuff that I do rather than
everyday life like what I eat or how I look. I want to be seen the same way people see me in real
life so that they re not taken back at the fact that I may be different to have they see me online.
What my posts say about me is that I have different interests whether it s pictures from art
museums or of my gundam models. I also have photos from my recent trip to Japan so my posts

Tim Winton The Turning Summary
Masculinity, the attributes applied to the male gender, has continuously manifested itself within the
matrices of literature, with many writers using narrative fiction as a vehicle to explore ideas of the
historical underpinnings of manhood, and more generally, alternative constructions of the male
ontology and modality. Transcendental notions of masculinityhave inevitably constrained the
contemporary manwithin set ideologies and values those which often enforce unrealistic and toxic
expectations. This conundrum is especially relevant in Australian society given the stereotypical
and diffused archetype of the Aussie Man ; which characteristics such as apathy, nobility and

on gender succumbing to romanticised ideologies.
Hence, Winton utilises the character to represent the typical male, whilst also exploring the

The Natural Resources Of The Earth
Misjudged Land The Earth has an ability to produce natural resources, provide land to build on,
and absorb waste. This is known as the bio capacity of the Earth, and it can only take so much to
keep the planet healthy and clean. It takes about a year and a half to generate the resources that the
human population only uses in a year. Therefore, if it continues at this rate, according to the World
Wildlife Fund, by the year 2050, the humanpopulation is anticipated to use an equivalency of two
Earths worth of renewable sources in only one year. The planet Earthcan only produce so much in
one year, and doubling the amount is far from possible. There are many threats on the planet
Earth to prevent it from providing what is demanded, in which people do not realize are a part of
a day to day routine. Just as the Earth is evolving, human life and wildlife is expanding its
population as well and consequently, all residents of the planet should be aware of saving the Earth
from demolishing everyone and everything in it. Cutting down forests for the sake of human
utilization may be beneficial, however it will decrease the benefits of Earth as a whole. The act of
deforestation may be considered a gateway to the extinction of all living things on the Earth. Better
choices need to be made that reflect the way the environment is responding and it all starts by
understanding what the Earth already has and needs to continue to maintain. Considering the planet

Democracy Is A Key Component Of Today s Society
The government is a crucial component of today s society. Its existence is important for a civilized
community. Its definition includes the exertion of authority, administration of public policies, and
the direction of its members or subjects. Along with the creation of laws, a government provides the
country with infrastructure and services, and maintains a military and police force amongst other
forces on behalf of the citizens of the country. A government works fairly and with justice when
there is rule by the people. Democracy is a government in which the supreme power is vested in the
people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually
involving periodically held free elections (Webster Dictionary). The utmost powerful characteristic
of democracy is that people hold the ultimate power. Democracy is a government of the people, by
the people, for the people Abraham Lincoln. A democratic government allows its citizens to manage
their government through indirective or directive procedures. Such procedures include freedom of
expression, fair and competitive elections to determine the authority for political power, and certain
restrictions on the exertion of authority. Such democratic governments choose between a
presidential system, a parliamentary system, or a hybrid system (semi presidential). These systems
differ based on how their executive, legislative, and judicial branches are organized. Along with a

Medical Practice Initiative
Medical Practice Initiative. One of the main drivers of the Medical Practice Initiative (MPI),
aside from patient safety, is the acquisition, maintenance, and minimization of cognitive and

The lavenders (Lavandula) are a genus of 39 species of flowering plants in the mint family,
Lamiaceae. An Old World genus, distributed from Macaronesia (Cape Verde and Canary Islands
and Madeira) across Africa, the Mediterranean, South West Asia, Arabia, Western Iran and South
East India. It is thought the genus originated in Asia but is most diversified in its western
distribution.
The genus includes annuals, herbaceous plants, subshrubs, and small shrubs. The native range
extends across the Canary Islands, North and East Africa, Southern Europe and the Mediterranean,
Arabia and India. Because the cultivated forms are planted in gardens worldwide, they are
occasionally found growing wild as garden escapees, well beyond their natural range. However,
since lavender cross pollinates easily, there are countless variations within the species. The color of
the flowers of some forms has come to be called lavender.
The leaves are long and narrow in most species. In other species they are pinnately toothed, or
pinnate, sometimes multiple pinnate and dissected. Flowers are borne in whorls, held on spikes
rising above the foliage. Flowers may be blue, violet or lilac. The calyx is tubular, with five
lobes. The corolla is often asymmetric.[1] Lavenders flourish best in dry, well drained, sandy or
gravelly soils in full sun.[2] All types need little or no fertilizer and good air circulation; in areas of

Essay on The Untruthfulness of Language
Untruthfulness of language Throughout the play King Lear, written by William Shakespeare the
theme of deception and the manipulation of language is the very root of the tragedy. The
language used by individuals affects the relationships around them, hides the dark nature within
them and creates fights between friends and family. The theme of deception goes hand in hand
with the theme of appearance vs reality since most of the characters alter the way they seem to
others so they don t know what they really are capable of. Throughout the play language is the
cause to all the problems, since the characters that are best at twisting their words, are only

W. Edward Deming was an American statistician. He created a quality method system/quality
management. His philosophy of quality focus on reducing uncertainty and variability. Deming
introduced Total Quality Meth to the Japanese rising industries first and then later on applied to
American industries, more specifically laboratory management. This method of management
approached centered on quality aimed at long term success through customer services. As a result,
this improved performance, schedule, quality of work and product, lowered cost, and overall the
efficiency in business. Another way of explaining his philosophy is to say that one should manage

Ethos And Target Audience Analysis Of Nike s The Switch
The Switch Audience Analysis
The way humans are persuaded is fascinating. The ability to successfully persuade someone in
today s world is one of the most obtainable and important assets to have as a person. Cultures have
been swallowed by the concept of advertisement. Everyday humans are affected by and make
decisions because of persuasion, yet persuasion can be broken down into three simple categories:

times have changed, so have the contents of ads. Companies and corporations spend billions of
dollars in hopes to successfully persuade their audience. The Switch by Nike efficiently uses ethos
and pathos within their ad to persuade the viewer to buy their product.
Ethos Target Audience
The Switch ad begins by using ethos. Cristiano Ronaldo s presence in the ad establishes the
credibility of Nike as a brand. Cristiano Ronaldo is considered by most to be one of the greatest
players currently playing. By utilizing a player of this caliber in their ad, Nike can appeal to its
potential buyers. Even if the consumer dislikes the player for whatever reason, credibility is still
established out of respect for Ronaldo s sheer talent as a professional soccer player. While most
people are just focused on Ronaldo and the storyline itself so much is happening behind the scenes.

American Revolutionary War
A motivating force behind the revolution was the American embrace of a political ideology called
republicanism , which was dominant in the colonies by 1775. The country party in Britain, whose
critique of British government emphasized that corruption was to be feared, influenced American
politicians. The commitment of most Americans to republican values and to their rights, helped
bring about the American Revolution, as Britain was increasingly seen as hopelessly corrupt and
hostile to American interests; it seemed to threaten to the established liberties that Americans
enjoyed. The greatest threat to liberty was depicted as corruption. The colonists associated it with
luxury and, especially, inherited aristocracy, which they condemned.... Show more content on

The Americans were totally unaware that the British would try to cross the creek in separate
places. Washington backtracked to Chester, Pennsylvania. A British pursuit was stopped by a
rearguard unit; therefore, Howe could not occupy the abandoned capital until September 26.
British deaths totaled to about 600 and American losses were 900 dead and wounded, along with
400 taken prisoner. After Howe s victory at Brandywine, his army camped at Germantown,
Pennsylvania. Washington planned a surprise attack against the redcoats at sunrise. He broke the
army into four separate columns for battle. The American soldiers marched to Germantown by
two roads, with General Sullivan to the right and General Greene to the left. Washington, along
with General Wayne, joined Sulliven and caused the British to fall back. Some hundred men ran
and hid in the Chew house, a large stone building, and returned fire from the second story. Instead
of by passing the building, Colonel Knox believed that they should destroy the house with the
redcoats in it. Knox s fired cannons at the home, which merely bounced back at them. The fog and
smoke caused massive confusion for several others of Washington s columns. All of a sudden two
American divisions collided and fired upon each other. More and more mishaps followed, and
finally Washington men retreated. In June of 1775 in Charlestown the British were awaken from
their sleep. The British were totally unaware of the fact

What Is The Moral Of The Story By Bruno Bettelheim
Moral of the Story: Analyzation of Fairy Tales Fairy tales have been around and retold for
hundreds of years, ranging from enticing situations and imperative morals to teach and warn
people of all ages. Many have overlooked the underlying message of these beloved tales and
deem them to be farfetched, but these stories are critical to child development. On the Telling of
Fairy Stories written by Bruno Bettelheim, the strong belief presents the notion that verbally
exclaiming fairy tales leaves a lasting impact on adolescent minds well into adulthood. During
the early development stages, the telling of fairy tales educates children how to grasp the
meaning and the power of storytelling. Each narrator, as he told the story, dropped and added
elements to make it more meaningful whom he knew well... narrator let his unconscious
understanding of what the story told be influenced by that of a child (150). A narrator s purpose
is to carry and determine the story through their eyes, what they see is exactly what the reader
sees as readers do not know anything that the author does not know. Each narrator varies their
stylistic approach to the story at large, and the best ones tailor it to the audience it affects.
Especially regarding children, the story should be illustrated in a way where it is appealing to
them and comprehensive to their minds. In this way, concepts can be accepted and digested, but
also understood in their respective way. For example, the excerpt provided a

The Roots of Poverty and Globalization
The Question: Globalization and poverty
Once the Era of apartheid had come to an end in 1994 the internationally development community
entered South Africa promoting the microcredit model with high hopes to empower the poorest
black communities to break loose from the poverty spiral, however the Microcredit model was seen
to be having the complete opposite effect, ultimately causing incredible damage to the area. The
microcredit model was supposed to be the means of bringing sustainable development to the
extreme poor areas. The model has been named the anti development intervention (1), because in
practice it has only shown that it supports consumption spending. The poor are worse off than
ever before; to keep up with the obligations of repaying their microloans, they are forced to sell
the few assets they own or borrow money from friends or relatives or even worse take up new
microloans in order to pay for the old ones. This is not the only downfall of this type of so called
sustainable development; another problem that emerges from this is that the actual businesses
emerging form microloans are anything but businesses elevating poverty. The type of business that
has been arising from the microloans have only created hyper competition amongst all the new
businesses as well as the old ones, leaving about 40% of the South African population repaying
debt. The poorest and most vulnerable are left behind to take care of themselves drowning in debt,
while the private banks

Of Pride And Arrogance In Nino Ricci s Lives Of The Saints
The Effects Of Pride and Arrogance The inability to take responsibility for immoral actions causes
destruction. Nino Ricci s Lives of the Saints tells the story of a young boy whose life drastically
changes due to his mother s infidelity. Throughout the novel, Cristina s attitude toward her sin
becomes a prevalent matter as it starts to damage aspects of her and her familys life. Cristina s
excessive prideand arrogance lead to her choice to stay silent and proud, which results in its
destructive nature. The hubristic mindset Cristina harbours, damages her personal relationships.
Throughout the novel, Cristina chooses to remain prideful and silent and ignores the
consequences of her infidelity. In one particular scene, Cristina, Vittorio and his grandfather sit
together at the dinner table, but no one says a word: When he did come, he remained walled up
in his stony silence, his head bowed over his plate, while my mother sat turned away from him
crosswise, her legs never under the table, as if she expected at any moment to have to rise up
suddenly on some errand, (Ricci 133). Vittorio s grandfather stops eating dinner with Vittorio and
Cristina. Vittorio notices the irrefutable tension and the change in the atmosphere. However,
Cristina is unregretful of her sin that results in the damage of not only hers, but the people around
her lifes as well. Vittorio s grandfather continuously directs his anger on Cristina, who does not
apologize for her actions, thus breaking

Large Bakers Large Bakers Memo To: Senior Management From: Gregg Gregson Date: October 16, 2013 Re: Distribution Analysis and Recommendation Summary In aligning with senior management s initiative to reduce stock out to 1.5%, alongside implementing a variable lead time order cycle, Large Bakers will achieve an annual cost savings valued at $194,000. Background Information Given Large Bakers Management initiative that the possibility of stock out be reduced to 1.5%, the following analysis depicts which of the following options Large Bakers should utilize throughout the company s supply distribution network to ensure efficiency and valued cost savings are achieved. The two options are as follows: Regular, 25 car shipments, spaced 14 days ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Recommendation As the manager of Large Baker s supply chain department, it is recommended by implementing option 2, a variable lead time, buffering against variation in lead time into the company s supply chain distribution network that Large Bakers will achieve approximately $194,000 annually. With this alternative Large Bakers will keep a close eye on production level and order the 25 cars at variable lead time. As a result, efficient production will allow Large Bakers to save on decreased inventory costs as well as achieve greater efficiency in utilization of key transport times to align with consumer demand. Supporting Documentation Safety Stock Required Determination Known Research: Flour usage to meet demand can be taken at an average of 2,000 tonnes every 2 weeks, with a standard deviation of 300 tonnes. We felt the fulfillment of the parish staff strongly. While working at the parish is indeed a job, we experienced a mentality that staff members felt privileged to work at St. Joseph s. One of the accountants, Cathy Bohnen, stated she looks forward to coming in to St. Joseph s. We believe this supports the notion that the environment at St. Joseph s is one which encourages and supports its staff members simply by creating an environment conducive to the work expected of staff. The parish nurtures this innate motivation to work for the Church in several ways; first, there is daily morning prayer for the staff. In 2006, there were 234,000 people employed directly in tourism jobs in Vietnam and 510,000 whose jobs indirectly depended on tourism (John, 2006). According to World Travel and Tourism Council and Oxford Economic Forecasting, Vietnam s tourism sector is expected to experience the sixth highest growth rate of countries in the world between 2007 and 2016 ( Vietnam s Tourism Grows, 2006). Aside from this quantifiable growth, tourism in Vietnam also continues to change in character. New tourism niches, new types of tourism attractions and enterprises and new kinds of tourists have been appearing in Vietnam since 1986. Doi moi is an ongoing process that is reflected in all aspects of the Vietnamese society, economy and politics. 3 Position and Methodology This paper presents two primary positions: (1) changes in the tourism accommodation sector in Vietnam since the beginning of the doi moi programme have been characterised and, to a certain extent, driven by the dynamic interactions between state owned enterprises, foreign direct investment and domestic private operators in this sector, and (2) these changes are linked to the political, social and economic changes occurring in Vietnam within this period of transition. • 26. The North Vietnamese Army ( Nva ) And The Vietcong The United States of America, one of the most powerful nations in the world at the time, was completely unprepared for the war that it had joined in Vietnam. The terrain was unlike any we had ever fought in. From mountains to jungles to rice paddies, it was wet, hot, cold, and completely unforgiving. To say that the political situation was tenuous would be a drastic understatement. Not only could officials not make up their minds, neither could the general populace. The media had an influence in this war that was heretofore unseen. All of these factors were a great obstacle in and of themselves and then we put into play the greatest obstacle of all: the enemy. This was an enemy like we had never seen. The North Vietnamese Army (NVA) and the Vietcong (VC) were fast, agile, adaptable, and extremely unpredictable. The VC hid among the common populace and fought like demons. The NVA were well supplied, well organized, and did not restrict themselves the way many large armies do. This forced us to have to rapidly adapt and develop new tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) in order to counter all of these obstacles. Due to these needs and the rapidly advancing technology and versatility of helicopters, the Air Cavalry was born. The Air Cav was composed of several types of airframes including transport aircraft, attack aircraft, and reconnaissance aircraft. • 27. Function Of A Reflection On Social Media In this reflection I will be talking about social media and the ways that I personally use social media in order to analyze and have an understanding so that I can hopefully improve my social media competence. The types of social media outlets I have are: Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. I don t really postanything on Reddit, Facebook, and Snapchat but on Instagram I try to not post photos with myself in it because I want my followers to see the world I see but the captions I put are usually not really relative to the photo and usually meme sounding. On Twitter I mostly retweet stuff that I think my friends would enjoy like articles or cool announcements and I make polls letting them decided what I should do or where to travel next. Not much thought goes into deciding what I post, I usually decide on the quality of the photo. If the quality of the photo is nice then usually the picture is just as nice. What I try to show my followers is the cool places that I go to or all the neat stuff that I do rather than everyday life like what I eat or how I look. I want to be seen the same way people see me in real life so that they re not taken back at the fact that I may be different to have they see me online. What my posts say about me is that I have different interests whether it s pictures from art museums or of my gundam models. Tim Winton The Turning Summary Masculinity, the attributes applied to the male gender, has continuously manifested itself within the matrices of literature, with many writers using narrative fiction as a vehicle to explore ideas of the historical underpinnings of manhood, and more generally, alternative constructions of the male ontology and modality. Transcendental notions of masculinityhave inevitably constrained the contemporary manwithin set ideologies and values those which often enforce unrealistic and toxic expectations. This conundrum is especially relevant in Australian society given the stereotypical and diffused archetype of the Aussie Man ; which characteristics such as apathy, nobility and strength forming the bedrock of the national identity. This is known as the bio capacity of the Earth, and it can only take so much to keep the planet healthy and clean. It takes about a year and a half to generate the resources that the human population only uses in a year. Therefore, if it continues at this rate, according to the World Wildlife Fund, by the year 2050, the humanpopulation is anticipated to use an equivalency of two Earths worth of renewable sources in only one year. The planet Earthcan only produce so much in one year, and doubling the amount is far from possible. There are many threats on the planet Earth to prevent it from providing what is demanded, in which people do not realize are a part of a day to day routine. Just as the Earth is evolving, human life and wildlife is expanding its population as well and consequently, all residents of the planet should be aware of saving the Earth from demolishing everyone and everything in it. Cutting down forests for the sake of human utilization may be beneficial, however it will decrease the benefits of Earth as a whole. The act of deforestation may be considered a gateway to the extinction of all living things on the Earth.
