Argumentative Essay On Police Brutality
Writing an essay on the topic of police brutality can be a challenging and emotionally charged
task. The subject itself is complex, sensitive, and often controversial, requiring careful
consideration of various perspectives and a thorough examination of the underlying issues.
Crafting a compelling argumentative essay on this topic demands a deep understanding of the
historical context, legal frameworks, and societal implications surrounding police misconduct.
One of the primary challenges lies in navigating the plethora of information available on the
subject. Sorting through statistics, case studies, and academic research to form a coherent and
persuasive argument can be time-consuming and mentally taxing. Moreover, the emotional
intensity associated with instances of police brutality adds an additional layer of complexity, as
writers must strike a balance between empathy and objectivity.
Addressing the root causes of police brutality, discussing potential solutions, and exploring the
broader implications for society requires a nuanced approach. Writers must be diligent in
presenting evidence, analyzing data, and anticipating counterarguments to strengthen their
position. Engaging with different perspectives, including those of law enforcement,
policymakers, and affected communities, is essential for presenting a well-rounded argument.
Furthermore, maintaining a respectful and empathetic tone throughout the essay is crucial, given
the sensitive nature of the topic. Striking the right balance between passion and reason is
essential to foster a thoughtful and constructive dialogue. It is imperative to avoid inflammatory
language or biased rhetoric that may detract from the credibility of the essay.
In conclusion, writing an argumentative essay on police brutality demands a comprehensive
understanding of the topic, a thorough examination of diverse perspectives, and a careful
navigation of emotionally charged content. It is a challenging task that requires dedication,
critical thinking, and effective communication skills to address the complexities surrounding this
pressing social issue.

The Positive Effects Of Terrorism
Wherever anyone goes anyone is vulnerable to terrorism. Terrorism is something
that is a very horrific thing and effects everyone that went through it and the people
watching the news and newspapers. The effects of terrorism can be very dangerous,
sometimes it can even be deadly. In the last of couple of years around 50 terrorist
attacks have been in the united states. Around 200 in the world, just last week there
was an attackon the London bridge. ISIS even has claimed that they planned the
attack. For anybody that doesn t know who ISIS is they are a terrorismorganization
that people say are more extreme than al Qaida or any other terrorist group in the
world. Terrorism effects the world around us and it isn t pretty we have all seen it
manifest its self in so many ways on the earth. Whenever Terrorism Occurs People
all over the world react differently, some effects can be, Countries increasing their
security, it can be anything from Airports to the borders and the boats that arrive
on land. Just like when 9/11 happened George W. Bush closed all subways so no
one could travel and that stopped a couple more of attacks from happening.
However, it turned out to be that all the attacks were fake except the twin towers
and the pentagon. Increasing Security has helped a lot of life s and it can have
positive effects on people. Anyone can feel safe at the end of the day knowing that
their country is increasing security so it would be harder to even plan something
horrific.
Essay about Research Critical Analysis
Journal Article Evaluation: Barinaga, E. (2007) Cultural diversity at work: National
culture as a discourse organizing an international project group, Human Relations,
60(2):
315 340.
Ester Barinaga s paper on multinational work teams and how they organize
themselves using national culture and cultural diversity as discursive resources is
critically discussed, with special attention paid to the limitations of her research
approach. This review proceeds as follows. First, the theoretical framework is briefly
outlined in which Barinaga embeds the specific angle of her research project. Then
follows a critical description of the international team she followed, her chosen
method of observation and the findings she presents. ... Show more content on

While she clearly positions her research approach within the wider framework of the
field, she fails to mention the Global Leadership and Organizational Behaviour
Effectiveness Research Project (GLOBE) initiated by R. House (House et al., 2002).
Although its large scale, quantitative research approach differs from her ethnographic
study and takes on the positivist stance she is arguing against, it deserves mentioning
as both research projects explore the impact of cultural diversity on organizational
processes in multinational work teams.
Research Approach
Using the term discourse as coined by Foucault (1980), Barinaga explores in depth
how team members make sense of their daily group life by way of their discourse on
cultural diversity . To gain insight into the actors construction of themselves and
others (Baszanger Dodier, 1997, in Barinaga, 2007), she therefore chose ethnographic
research methods to collect a comprehensive body of qualitative data on one work
team with members from five different countries. She closely followed every
workshop and communication between meetings over a course of 17 month and
recorded meetings, interviewed team
members individually and collected all documents produced by or passed around in
the group.
Additionally she asked each team member via e mail
A Brief Note On Surface Water And Water
Surface water (waterways, streams, and lakes) covers almost 70% of the Earth s
surface are the principle wellsprings of water for mechanical, household, and watering
system utilizes making it a standout amongst the most vital players in the hydrologic
and biogeochemical cycles. As critical as these surface waters may be, just a little
number are kept up and found in their normal condition because of concentrated
anthropogenic exercises, for example, urbanization and surface water
contamination, in this manner, making it an awesome natural issue on the planet
everywhere (Zhao et al., 2011). Frequently than not, these waterways and streams
are profoundly powerless water bodies in view of the part they play in carting
away and taking in point (local wastewater and mechanical release) and non point
source (farming and urban spillover) contaminations (Carpenter et al., 1998).
Wastewater release from local and mechanical situations makes up a steady dirtying
source, though surface spillover from urbanized and farming situations are to a great
extent affected by climatic conditions inside a watershed (Singh et al., 2004).
Regular variety in precipitation (downpour) and its related surface overflow stream
strongly affect surface water release and, in this manner, on the centralization of
toxins in waterways, streams and lakes (Booth, 1991, Vega et al., 1998). In view of
the confusions connected with corruption of waterways and streams, water quality

How Did Jk Rowling Change The World
We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all the power we need
inside ourselves already. We have the power to imagine better. To explain what this
quote is saying, because her most famous book series is Harry Potter, she is saying
we don t need magic to make a difference. We have all the power to do it inside of
us and we have all the power to imagine a better place to create. She is telling us
that our idea that changing the world needs huge acts is wrong, we just need to
imagine and start. Even small things effect the world. J.K. Rowling is the person I
will be doing my report on. She is an important figure in American History because
she impacted our lives with many amazing and creative written works and ideas.

Rowling had an early start to beginning to her career path. Rowling s mother was a
big influence on who she became today. The start of her career was very early.
Rowling loved to read and write even as a young child. Her favorite books included
the stories of The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge, Manxmouse by Paul
Gallico, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. As a young six
year old, she wrote a story about a rabbit who was named Rabbit. In 1990, she
started writing the first Harry potter book after a train ride with her boyfriend. She
has said that she had many ideas but she did not have a pen on the train and why
very shy at this point, so she didn t want to ask for one. When she got home, she
started writing all her ideas and the first chapter. She wrote nearly every night and
then sent the first three chapters to an agent in 1996. Rowling has always had
thoughts of publishing. She even thought as a six year old to do this, sadly this
never happened and we will never get to read the story of Rabbit the rabbit. She
had to overcome the decease of her mother (who she was close to) to continue
writing and coming up with ideas. It is a good thing she did, otherwise we would
not have the amazing works of fantasy today. J.K. Rowling has always been

The Tortoise And The Hare Essay
As a child I really enjoyed reading books, this may been because my mother and
father would try to read to me each night before bed. One of my favorite bedtime
stories would be Aesop s fable particularly the Tortoise and the Hare. Although the
Hare was talented and had all the fittings to be a champion, despite that his
arrogance made him lose the race when he decided to sleep during the race. To this
day I have personally resonated with the idea of the underdog overcoming any
obstacles, and that is what the tortoisesignifies. The tortoise understood that although
he was not in the best position to win the race instead of giving up and not
competing he took his neck out of shell, tried his best, and persevered which caused
him the victory.
I truly resonate with the Tortoise in this fable because of their idealistic, dedicated,
and hardworking personality. Another reason would be the tortoise s ability to be
able to retreat into their shell when ever they pleased. Depending on the situation
and how uncomfortable I am I can pull into my shell for protection and comfort. In
addition tortoises are difficult to get to know because of their shell and they come
off as private, reserved, and self conscious. Even though I believe that all people
are equal, yet sometimes I lack confidence and doubt myself. You can see this if
you monitor me in the classroom and in sport. My coach will always say Bema at
the beginning of a race your body language tells me you don t belong
Mount Tambora and the Year Without a Summer Essay
Mount Tambora is a large stratovolcano located on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia.
It lies approximately 210 miles north of the Java Trench and is flanked to the north
and south by oceanic crust. Its current summit elevation is around 9,350 feet
(Smithsonian Institute). To the south east of the volcano lies the Sanggar peninsula,
which is a part of Tambora. There are two cities, Dompu and Clima, and three
concentrations of villages near the mountain slope: Sanggar, Doro Peti and
Pesanggrahan, and Calabai.

Then around 7 p.m. that night the eruption suddenly intensified and became
incredibly violent. Reported from Sanggar were reports of three columns of flame
that merged at a very great height. Pumice stones of up to 20cm then began to fall
at 8 p.m. with ash between 9 and 10 p.m. Then violent winds blew toward Sanggar
between 10 and 11 p.m. Possible pyroclastic flows that buried the village of
Tambora could be attributed to the winds. A tsunami of 4 meters hit Sanggar a
short time before 10 p.m., indicating a sudden entry of the pyroclastic flow into the
sea. The explosions could be heard as far away as 1050 km and in many places
produced concussions that resembled small earthquakes (Stothers, 1984). The next
day the explosions were louder and could be heard as far away as 2600 km. The ash
veil was spreading out over a vast extending as far as western Java. In spots within
600 km of the volcano the sky remained pitch dark for 1 or 2 days, the hot was
reported to be extremely hot and then cold. A nitrous odor was noticeable as far west
as Batavia (Stothers, 1984). The ash finally stopped falling between the 14th and

The novel Gulliver s Travels by Jonathan Swift displays the vast difference of the
Houyhnhnms society in comparison to ours. Harrison s essay describes the way our
society perceives home much differently than the way Houyhnhnms do. In modern
day, and more specifically in the 18th century the family system that we associate
with views home as a place for love, family, and support. In comparison to the
Houyhnhnms, they use the home as more a community area to gather. Each article by
Harrison, Nichols, and Guenther all gravitate to look at Jonathan Swift s perception of
home and society in a literal sense but I would disagree. I believe that if we look into
the overall moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the side of Reason stand those grounds of choice that address the welfare of the
community as a whole. On the side of Passion and all private desires and affections:
all those, that is, whose satisfaction is either indifferent or potentially contrary to the
welfare of hte community (Harrison 47). Reason is the key to a perfect society in
their mind. But this is where we separate completely as societies, to create a perfect
family humans would not usually give up their child to fill others needs. We are to
selfish and place family members ahead of others. The Houyhnhnms have a very
orderly society where there are no preferences made and because of not having any
preferences towards their young and between each other, we cannot assume that the
Houyhnhnms have a socially impaired society simply for the reason our two
different ideas on family do not correlate at all.
Family structure for the Houyhnhnms in comparison to Swift s time during the
18th century or even modern day is different as well. They have a very utopian
sense of family in which they have a set number of children that they are suppose
to have. As stated through the novel, preferably each couple wants to produce one
boy and one girl and if this is not fulfilled then they give away one of their children
in return for a child of the opposite sex. The goal of this is to in turn create a perfect
society that each Houyhnhnm seeks as their life
Basic Aspects Of Standards Research
Introduction
This paper will discuss various aspects of standards research. First, it will select one
of the working groups in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) or Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and thoroughly summarize what this
group is working on. Next, this paper will justify the need of the IEEE 802 standard
used in networking. Also, it will evaluate the three standard organizations including
IEEE, ISO, and ANSI to determine the most important for communication
technology. Finally, this paper will describe the author s position on the need for a
Federal regulating body of standards such as NIST.

Clearly, the OPSAWG focuses on the operations side of the house, and would be the
most logical working group to submit a request for review of an operational guideline.
Specifically, the focus of this WG is on topics that manage the behavior of other
working groups in the O M area (e.g., manageability requirements). Equally important,
it focuses on small, highly focused projects that do not warrant a separate working
group, or belong to ones that have already concluded (e.g. advancement of documents
on the standards track, application statements, extensions of MIB modules).
(Operations and management area working group, n.d., para 3).
IEEE 802
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) decided that there was a
significant need for a set of rules or standards for data to travel from one computer to
another. Essentially, it decided to standardize these methods for data packets transfers
by implementing a set of rules and regulations called IEEE 802 standards.
Consequently, these standards help the industry by providing advantages such as low
product cost, interoperability, and easy to manage standards, divided into many parts.
Interestingly, these standard parts include everything from cabling to network
standards. Of note, these IEEE standards affect only Local Area Networks (LAN) and

Cyber Terrorism
In 1999, Chinese hackers targeted United States government sites, after an
accidental bombing of a Chinese embassy in Belgrade. During this attack,
government sites were hijacked and some sites suffered a denial of service attack.
Most recently, it was suspected that Bank of America was the victim of a cyber
terrorismattack; although no definitive evidence is available to substantiate that
claim. Cyber terror attacks pose a threat against the national securityof the United
States. In order to fully comprehend the threat that cyber terrorism poses, it is
essential to understand the background, the effects, the reality of the threat and the
future of cyber terrorism. This assessment examines the reality of the cyber terrorism
threat, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, terrorists will strive to improve their cyber terror attack capabilities by
keeping pace with the emerging technologies and overcoming countermeasures.
Many computer security experts question the possibility that the Internet could be
used to inflict death on a large scale. Some precautions have been made. Systems
have been established in the last five years, which aim at preventing a possible cyber
terrorism attack. Air gapping has been established on all nuclear weapons, meaning
the weapons are not connected to the Internet or any open computer network and
cannot be accessed by intruders or terrorists. Still, other areas of concern include
subways, gas lines, power grids and communication systems; which are owned
primarily by the private sector and are managed by Internet enabled computer
systems.
Reality of a Cyber Terror Attack
Malicious cyber activity is occurring more frequently and with unexpected
complexity. In mid December of 2009, Google experienced a highly sophisticated
and targeted attack which originated in China on its search engine infrastructure and
e mail, as well as on at least 20 other companies.
Attacks are occurring within the United States, as well. Attacks on government
networks are omnipresent. In 2008, NASA and other departments of Defense,
Homeland Security and Commerce suffered major intrusions by unknown foreign
entities which

As stated above the University of California San Diego is not in the most desirable

me would be San Diego State University. I currently live in Chula Vista making
UCSD a 28 minute drive time, not factoring in traffic (Travelmath,2016). In
comparison SDSU would be a 17 minute drive. Brenda Antonio, a manager in the
accounting department at UCSD, lives in my neighborhood and has stated that her
average drive time on a weekday morning is an hour (Antonio,2016). An hour
commute may sound like an inconvenience but there some positive aspects to a long
commute. In a study done by the Australian National University it was found that
many people enjoy their commute and, said this was the only time they got to
themselves during the week, and so used it to dream, relax and meditate (Bissel,
2015). In addition, I personally enjoy driving and don t mind the commute. Although
an hour long commute is not ideal there are certain options in order to reduce the
negative aspects. Scheduling classes during low traffic times and maximizing the
time spent commuting, like listening to books on tape, would

implementing new training programs. Firefighters are now required to know every
aspect of the new CPR technology because of the new guidelines provided by the

has helped more than 70% of house fire victims that has in recent years. In hopes of
building the reputation back up, the American Red Cross has broadened its focus not
only on natural disasters but to citizen situations. Also, the American Red Cross is
helping victims in Puerto Rico despite what the leaders of the United States believe.
Apparently, the American Red Cross updated its policies to keep not only the
general public safe but also its employees. Also, the American Red Cross has
equipped survivors of the recent mudslides with temporary homes while their houses

trying to turn around the organization so that donors and other major beneficiaries to
the organization will trust it again. The American Red Cross recently made a

situations. He tends the readers to understand what the characters face throughout the
novel by expressing their emotions and actions. There are many events when John
Boynehas shown this type of purpose, in his novel. For instance, he mentioned
several times at the start of the book how much hatred did Bruno have for Out With.
How Bruno was confused with what was happening in the concentration camp and
why were they all there. As well as the mother has no affection with Out With and

was spoken by Bruno after he noticed the people in the concentration camp, all

In The Time Of The Butterflies And Antigone
In the Time of the Butterflies Essay
The novel In the Time of the Butterflies, by Julia Alvarez and the play Antigone by
Sophocles, both include similar characters, situations, and actions that react to the
idea of a dangerous growing authority. The characters Dede from the Time of the
Butterflies and Ismene from Antigone both strive to stay out of trouble with the
government; however Dede s approach is more effective as she becomes an oracle
character by the end of the novel, for she lives to tell the story of the Mirabal sisters.
Dede uses her relationship with her sisters and her own family to survive through the
dangerous reign of Trujillo. When facing a regime such as Trujillo s regime, the
survivors who live to tell their story, like Dede, are crucial to understanding and
analyzing important historical moments. These survivors live through real tragedies,
so they are primary resources with personal opinions and experiences.
To begin, Dede s ability to support and stay in contact with her sisters without
getting too involved with the dangers of the government allow her to stay safe, as
well as tell accurate stories from the time of Trujillo s reign. Through all the
struggles her sisters undergo, Dede still supports and cares for them. Even after
her sisters are freed from jail, Dede still finds herself in the habit of staying over the
nights before our visits. She said she had to be at Mama s early the next day anyhow

The Myth Of The American Gods
Some may ask, what is a myth. To the common person, a myth is a work of fiction :
an untrue story made obsolete by modern society. A myth is a story that cannot be
taken literally. For the sake of making the definition clear, a myth is a story; it is a
narrative; it is what helps people make sense of a complicated world through
different perspectives and experiences. Sometimes, these stories have lessons that
people can interpret from the events of them. Gaiman certainly has written a myth:
the myth of the American Gods. He has used past myths, those from ancient
civilizations, to create a world full of gods. He has created a myth about what
America is within the narrative of those gods. He has even modeled how religion
plays out in this mythological America. Gaiman s narrative introduces a somewhat
complex system of characters; he has created a world in which the gods (not
omniscient creator gods) live among the people and cohabitate with them. The
common person cannot tell a god apart from them; they can sense something
different about them, as Laura and Sam both sense something different about
Shadow from them. Laura, after she dies, claims that Shadow may not be dead, but
he most certainly is not alive (Pg#). This shows that the gods are not explicitly
known to be living among mortals, but mortals can sense something strange about
them. Gaiman also creates a myth about the popular gods who have taken the place
of the modern gods. These include the gods of Media
Integrity In Research Paper
If integrity is never challenged, it cannot be measured. How many times have we
heard people say, I would never do what she did or I cannot believe he would do
such a thing? Life can appear to be a series of one epic fail or test after another. We
have watched the rich and famous fall from their lofty pedestals while those with
integrity are rarely highlighted on the evening news. Integrity is doing the right
thing, even when nobody s watching. If integrity is the glue that holds our
perception of a good person together, how do we choose to be a person of integrity?

We are hard pressed to find any fault in the life found in the pages of the book of
Daniel. His example of integrity is second to none in the Old Covenant. We do not
have the first recordation of a stumble or fall as with most of our biblical heroes. As
we observe the integrity found in the life of Daniel, we catch him in Chapter 6
headed to the lion s den. The famous Bible story of Daniel and the lions den is more
than a simple account of God s deliverance. It also shows that no one is a match for
the true God. Daniel had been in captivity approximately 66 years serving faithfully
and with distinction in the reign of the Babylonian kings Nebuchadnezzar and
Belshazzar. When the Medo Persian Empire conquered Babylon, Daniel begins
serving King Darius. With Daniel s background and wisdom, he is quickly promoted
by the new king to an elevated position of envy.
Daniel was given the gift of prophecy even though he would not claim the title of
prophet. In addition to being blessed with the ability to interpret dreams, he could
also see what God had in store for the Jewish nation. As the Lord revealed to Daniel
his plan for his chosen people, he no doubt saw glimpses of the holocaust and the
multiple attempts to destroy Israel. There is always a remnant after each catastrophe
proving the Abrahamic Covenant withstands the test of time. God is faithful. In spite
of the countless years of slavery, the Israelites have endured hardships and continue to

The Affordable Care Act ( Obamacare )
The Affordable Care act (Obamacare) main focus is on providing more Americans
with access to affordable health insurance, improving the quality of health care and
health insurance, regulating the health insurance industry, and reducing health care
spending in the US. Yet five years since the implementation of Obamacare, 30.1
million people lost there private insurance, because it did not meet the 10 essential
health benefits. Another 3 5 million people will lose there company sponsored health
insurance, since companies find it cheaper to pay the penalty than buying there
employees health insurance. Also medications will become more expensive due
too new taxes that will increase prescriptions for individuals. Americans will find it
cheaper to pay the penalty for not having health insurance, since it s much cheaper
and twice as less as the hassle. Obama care lacks to tell what the implications are
on the health care system, how are doctors affected and what it means for average
Americans living to ends meat. With Obama care addressing how it s going to
make health care affordable it does not address long term care with an estimated
70% of Americans turning 65 will at some point, depend on long term care in

The Growing Concerns And Uncertainties Over Joshua s...
The growing concerns and uncertainties over Joshua s leadership spiraled in
Deuteronomy, and God ordered Moses to encourage Joshua. The result is an
abundance of inspiring texts that Joshua surely needed (Angel, 2009):
Joshua son of Nun, who attends you, he shall enter it. Imbue him with strength, for
he shall allot it to Israel (Deuteronomy 1:38).
Give Joshua his instructions, and imbue him with strength and courage, for he shall
go across at the head of this people, and he shall allot to them the land that you may
only see (Deuteronomy 3:28).
Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel: Be strong and
resolute, for it is you who shall go with this people into the land that the Lord swore
to their fathers to give them, and it is you who shall apportion it to them
(Deuteronomy 31:7).
And He charged Joshua son of Nun: Be strong and resolute: for you shall bring the
Israelites into the land that I promised them on oath, and I will be with you
(Deuteronomy 31:23).
These fears are carried over into the Book of Joshua. After Moses died, God
encouraged Joshua to be strong and resolute three times in four verses (Angel, 2009):
Be strong and resolute, for you shall apportion to this people the land that I swore
to their fathers to assign to them. But you must be very strong and resolute to
observe faithfully all the Teaching that My servant Moses enjoined upon you . . . . I
charge you: Be strong and resolute; do not be terrified or dismayed, for
The Miller s Tale Analysis
The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer is a book of tales wherein pilgrims tell
tales during their journey to a holy shrine in Canterbury. The host constructs a
contest to make the journey more pleasantly, each member of the party tells two
tales on the journey to Canterbury and two more tales on the journey back. The
person who tells the best story will be rewarded with a sumptuous dinner paid for
by the other members of the party. The Host decides to with the pilgrims to

Medical Physiology
It s cold, lifeless body lay in front of me in a metal tray as my body hovered over it.
The body was stiff; unmoving, as it reeked of formaldehyde.
But let s not start there, lets go back a little. It was my fourth year at Michigan Tech
s Summer Youth Programs. This year I chose to take Medical Physiology. I wonder
when I m getting my degree, I comically thought to myself with a snicker. Medical
Physiology was delightfully fun actually, learning about the different bones in our
body and different systems. Although it was mostly a result of all the dissections we
were doing. Which we were in the middle of one right now.

As the dissection headed toward its end, we inspected and identified his organs. We

Narrative Essay On The Eiffel Tower
I woke up thinking about the contest again, but I pushed it aside and got ready to
go touring again and today we were going to the Eiffel Tower. We headed out at
10:00am and drove there in a cab, we arrived and the view from our room was no
match to the real deal, it was outstanding and a lot bigger than I imaged too. We got
in line for tickets and it didn t take to long, so we found our tour guide, so that she
could take us up in it, I was nervous and excited at the same time because I don t
like heights, but I do love scenery. We went up in an elevator to the first floor or the
first platform and let me tell you,it was as beautiful as a thousand roses, literally,
there was thousands of roses everywhere, it was magnificent. After a while we got
back on the elevator to go to the top and on the way up the tour guide told us that it
is about 108 floor tall, twice the size of the one is Vegas. The elevator stopped and
we stepped out. The breeze was perfect and so was the weather, we walked out to a
telescope and plopped in a quarter. All I could say was wow, my mom and dad were
almost speechless too. Once we got up there I realized i wasn t afraid anymore,
hopefully the contest was going to be the same way, I took it all in, along with a
thousand photos my mom took of us and everything else. We kept looking at
everything, it was like nothing I ve ever experienced before, it was perfect and so
delicate, words were not enough to explain it. The city was busy and all the cars
and people looked like ants, the park around us was perfect, the grass, the trees
everything seemed so perfect around us, at least until it started to pour rain. We ran
into the elevator and luckily there was enough room for all of us because there
were people who didn t get in and i was sure they were drenched by now. After
some time we got to the bottom and ran to our cab as fast as cheetahs, but it didn t
matter, we were drenched as well. We got in our cab and drove to our hotel to
change and dry off. We wandered the hotel after we changed, to look at all the
paintings and statues. It stopped raining after a little while and we decided to go
shopping around the boutiques, the look of the boutiques made me think that

Chris Ofili Research Paper
In the second chapter of this dissertation it will focus on the work of Manchester
born and black artist Chris Ofili. Most known for his experimentation with elephant
dung, Ofili communicates a humorous and rather stereotypical reaction to how an
African man should be painting, You don t exist, unless you start to build yourself
up, and start to work (Ofili 2010). There was much comment about Ofili becoming
the first black contemporary artist whose name and work was known to a wider
British public.
Ofili, compared to Yinka Shoniabre, has never abandoned the idea that notions of race
and identity are important factors within his artwork, Ofili quite simply understands
that playing along side his stereotypes has offered his career for where he is today.
...Portraiture and black subjectivity represent important philosophical vectors in Ofili
s powerful figurative art, as if this conjunction between figuration and representation
were not already visibly defined in the 181 watercolours. (Okwui Enwezor : Chris
Ofili : Tate : 72)
When one thinks back to Ofili s early days in the art world he once strived to be
how Yinka Shonibare communicates his art, not define him as a black artist. Ofili
began his journey in Brick Lane market in London where he had crafted small
figurines made from elephant dung, named Shithead . The crafted balls of dung
attached with real teeth and strands of the artists dreadlocks which where held

Modern Architecture Essays
ESSAY 1
Le Corbusier and Mies van de Rohe were two architects influenced by the
contemporary movements of their time period. Le Corbusier s architectural ideology
was derived from the multiple techniques and styles he had previously encountered
through study. His early designs were expressive of the youth style which was
introduced to him by his instructor, L Eplattenier. New technologies, however, began
to influence his philosophies. Le Corbusier saw potential in concrete building systems
and desired to experiment with its structural abilities through his designs. The modern
industry, as well as the political disorder which came about following the First World
War, motivated his innovative design philosophies which appeared in... Show more

Style, he described, was defined by the time period in which architects practiced like
building techniques and philosophies. Michael Speaks would have attributed the lack
of new in the architecture of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier s era to cohesion
to general manifestoes produce outside their time period. Architects from later time
periods cannot pursue the same manifesto because technological advances in design
must be considered. His arguments reveal that following a general manifesto from
start to finish will produce an unchanging architecture. Michael Speaks wrote, I do
not believe we need another manifesto in architecture, even of the incomplete,
aborted or personal variety. Architecture, it seems has suffered enough from the
illusion that manifestoes matter (except insofar as they stifle creativity) and it is
time we found other ways of developing experimental practices ... Vanguards, with
their five points, seven principles and ten theses for a new architecture, draw a line
that leads straight from the manifesto to the new. And because the completion of this
line is best that can be hoped for, there is nothing new about the new. If architects
followed the same lines to solve the same problems, a new architecture could not be
actualized. A separation from the lines between manifesto and solution made way for
discovery of design and methods of creating new architecture. Mies van der Rohe and

Essay on Anne Fausto-Sterling s The Five Sexes
Exploring the Social Standards of Sex and Gender
There are several sources that tell a person how to be a man or woman. Science
tells us by recognizing the X or Y chromosomes. The media shows us through the
physically ideal celebrities that grace the covers of magazines and flaunt their
bodies in commercials. Sports, wrestling, cars, and blue for the boys. Dresses, make
up, painted nails, and pink for the girls. All of these sources, as well as others, have
evolved into an expectation that has become institutionalized within society. This
expectation, is placement and belonging into the binary system of person: the man or
the woman. In Anne Fausot Sterling s acrticles The Five Sexes and the The Five

Besides the genders male and female, there is also intersexed. Within that group of
intersexed, there are subgroups. Fausto Sterling explains this in her The Five
Sexes: Why Male and Female are Not Enough : Firstly, the term intersex is used in
medical literature to describe the so called true hermaphrodite (possesses one testis
and one ovary), the male pseudohermaphrodite (possess testes and some aspects of
the female genitalia, but no ovaries), and female pseudohermaphadites (possess
ovaries and some aspects of the male genitalia but lack testes). I had no idea that
there were subgroups to the intersexed .
Due to social conformity, along with the advancement of technology and surgical
procedure intersexed persons are aimed to be fixed at birth. Although otherwise
healthy, there is a need to perform surgery on the baby in order to remove certain
sexual organs that don t fit with the perfect idea of what a girl or boy should look
like. This often leaves scars, and the psychological and emotional confusion along
with it. The Five Sexes Revisited focused on the importance of therapy over surgery.
Medical ethicist Laurence B. McCullough of the Center for Medical Ethics and
Health Policy at Baylor Collefe of Medicine in Houston, Texas contend[ed] that in the
process of assigning gender, physicians should minimize what he calls irreversible
assignments: taking steps such as the surgical removal
Advantages Of Drone Survey
1.0INTRODUCTION: What is drone survey?
Drone surveying is the operation of finding contour, dimension, position or other
particulars of the earths surface by using remote controlled aircraft. A drone is
basically an unmanned aircraft. It is also called an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)
or a flying robot. It can be remotely controlled or fly by itself through flight plans
that are software controlled. Such flight plans are in their embedded system that
works with GPS. Drones are known to be used for military purposes, but they are also
used in different activities like traffic monitoring, weather monitoring, surveillance,
fire fighting, search and rescue, film making, recreational activities, etc. It is also
used in surveying, which we will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jane Villanueva s Jane The Virgin
Many mothers plan their children and are overjoyed when they discover they are
with child; others are surprised, and perhaps not as pleased. However, not many can
say they became pregnant when they have never had sex. Jane the Virgin is a CW
network television program about Jane Villanueva, a religious young woman who has
never had sexual intercoursebut becomes pregnant by an accidental artificial
insemination. Due to the nature of the main character s situation, the topic of sex,
virginity, and conception is often discussed, as well as what it means to be a virgin.
Although virginity has historically been viewed through a traditional Christian

The first time Jane has sex, she is displeased and does not quite enjoy it. Later on
in the episode, Michael asks what he can do to improve the experience for, and
asked if she enjoyed the other things, they did before marriage; Jane says yes and
Michael asks if she would like to try those other things again, to which Jane once
more agrees. Jane and Michael then engage in oral sex. This scene shows the
viewer that perhaps Jane is not as stout a Catholic as previously thought, and that
Jane views the loss of virginity not as the engagement of any sexual activity, but
when a person has penetrative sex; since she and Michael are a heterosexual, male
and female couple, this means that true sex to her is only when a penis is inserted
into her vagina. This fits the older, more specific Christian belief that a woman is
no longer a virgin if she does not have a hymen, something that can be lost in
penetrative sex, but this point in the television show, she is a mother to her young
son, Mateo; she gave birth to Mateo vaginally, so if she did still have a hymen, it
would no longer be intact. Jane has previously engaged in sexual activity and no
longer has a physically intact hymen, but she is still a virgin because she considers
herself a virgin, something the show is unique in

Stream of Consciousness Novel
The Development of the Stream of Consciousness Technique in Modernist English
Fiction (with Special Reference to the Contributions of James Joyce and Virginia
Woolf)
Arpan Adhikary
The term stream of consciousness as applied in literary criticism to designate a
particular mode of prose narrative was first coined by philosopher William James in
his book Principles of Psychology (1890) to describe the uninterrupted flow of
perceptions, memories and thoughts in active human psyche. As a literary term,
however, it denotes a certain narrative technique used in novels in which the narrator
records in minute but somewhat abstract way whatever passes through his or her
conscious mind. The socalled stream of consciousness in a work of ... Show more

The style is highly allusive and Joyce deliberately confuses the narrative by making
a pastiche of the styles of several genres together while presenting the flows of the
continuous thoughts of the principal characters. Here for the first time Joyce also
employed the interior monologue which is deemed to be the purest form of the
stream of consciousness mode. In Joyce s third and last novel Finnegans Wake (1939)
the complexity of the stream of consciousness technique reaches its heights
necessitating the text s being one of the least read ones in any language. In this novel
Joyce used around forty languages other than English and presented an awkwardly
extensive range of literary, mythical, political and historical allusions while narrating
the one night dream sequence of the protagonist, a Dublin tavern keeper named
Humphrey Chimpden Earwicker. Apart from Joyce, Virginia Woolf also made
remarkable contribution to the development of the stream of consciousness mode in
the modernist English fiction. In Mrs. Dalloway (1925) Woolf presents the diverse
mental recourses of Clarissa Dalloway within the span of one single day, and in the
interior monologue of Mrs. Dalloway the narrative breaks with the realistic mode in
order to suit the inner reality of the narrator s psyche which is different from the
external reality by which she is surrounded. Similar intellectual cogency and finer

Psychology, Theology And Spirituality
A 4 MAT Review: Psychology, Theology and Spirituality in the Christian Counseling
Introduction
Mark McMinn is a trained psychologist who is known for his book that was written
in 1996 called Psychology, Theology and Spirituality in Christian Counseling.
McMinn had advocated for the Christians who are counselors for many years.
McMinn is very experienced in the work and in his field of study. One of the biggest
things that McMinn stresses is the importance of establishing and maintaining a good
trustworthy relationship with the client and showing ways of how to confront the
client as a therapeutic approach.. The major purpose for this is to create and achieve
a lasting change to the client so that the counseling process can be effective (McMinn,
1996).
Summary
In effect, Mark McMinn has utilized theology, spirituality and psychology to help
individuals in enhancing diverse concepts of their lives. Notably, the author
articulates clearly that the counselor should be strong particularly in their personal
spirituality. Hence, this is important because it is the only way to assist their clients
appropriately in the counseling process. The author also expounds on various
precautions, which counselors must take, as well as the limitations. Subsequently, it
can be challenging to incorporate the counselor s spirituality especially in their
counseling sessions since many of them are not confident since they lack adequate
knowledge about the Bible. Thus, this will result to
The Conspiracy Theories And Social Issues
The phrase conspiracy theory is often expressed with a negative connotation and
used as a label for the explanation of outlandish incidents that are hard for the
everyday person to comprehend. Conspiracy theorists are often labeled as lunatics
that spit out senseless claims with no real substance. The mere mention of the word
conspiracy seems to set off an internal alarm bell that causes scholars to close their
minds in order to avoid cognitive dissonance and possible unpleasantness, since the
popular image of conspiracy both fundamentally challenges the conception most
educated, sophisticated people have about how the world operates... (Bale). What is
often unspoken is that conspiracy theories have a real effect on the political... Show

A 2012 National Election Study found that the conspiracy theory has to ideologically
be in line with what the person already believes. Conservatives aren t going to

survey carried out by the New York Times complements the previous study s results
and states that In total, the percentage of Democrats who agreed on average with
the conspiracy claims in the scale increased from 27 percent before the election to
32 percent afterward. By contrast, Republicans willingness to endorse conspiratorial

Heart Of Darkness White Dichotomy
Discrimination is seen across every culture, in every nation, in every time period. In
some cultures these levels are seen in socioeconomic groups, races, or even gender.
Joseph Conrad s novella, Heart of Darkness, challenges the morality behind
discrimination. Conrad s novella challenges reader s view of racismthrough lies,
stereotypes and symbolism.
Traditionally, literature portrays races in a certain light, usually white references to
purity or honesty, and black to evil and lies. Before even reading Conrad s novella
there is already a preconceived idea of race for the reader. One example of this can be
seen through Allingham s analysis of the symbolism used throughout the novella, as
the story unfolds, Marlow reverses the normal symbology of the black white
dichotomy, so that gradually darkness comes to mean truth, whiteness falsehood
(Allingham). Conrad overturns the traditional view of race in literature. While ...

evil and lies. By psychoanalyzing the text, one can find that this impression stems
from the constant strife within the Europeans relationships and the lies they tell
both to themselves and the natives. Imperialism, the quest for power and wealth,
causes the Europeans to be willing to do anything they deem necessary to gain such
power. Characters threaten to kill one another, lie to each other, and take any action
to bolster their position within society. This strongly opposes the standard picture
seen of Europeans in literature. Historically natives are depicted as causing strife
and being evil in order to get ahead when in Conrad s novella, the reverse is so. It is
the Europeans who are the
Health And Patient Education For Diabetic Foot Care
Population Health and patient education for diabetic foot care
Generally our population sees diabetes as a disease for people that can t eat sugar,
but, those with diabetes know it comes with some life changing events. Diabetes
effects an estimated 29.1 million Americans each day. Diabetes develops in one of
two forms, Type one and Type two. Type one is insulindependent diabetes, where the
body lacks production of insulin (Ignatavicius Workman, 2013). Type two diabetics
are insulin resistant, affecting mostly adults (Ignatavicius Workman, 2013). Diabetes
is a chronic illness that accounts for many comorbidities and complications to those
suffering from the disease. Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death from
conditions including, hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, heart
attacks, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, and amputations (American Diabetes
Association, 2016). Management of these complications can occur with proper
education, health promotion, and prevention from the patient. Foot care and ulcer
prevention can reduce or eliminate complications suffered by diabetics; leading to
infections requiring hospitalization and the most serious amputations. Teaching this
population or any population about their healthcare needs and requirements can be
difficult. Establishing the best way to education will be explored within this paper.
Throughout this paper the author will take a look at daily foot care and prevention
of ulcers. The paper will
Solution Focused Brief Therapy Essay
Introduction
The emergence of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) marked a changing of the
guard within the realm of psychotherapy. For the previous century, the profession had
been dominated by theories and practices, which was focused on unearthing a client s
repressed memories or family issues in hopes of identifying cracks in their mental and
/or their emotional foundation that needed to be fixed. The change in perspective and
approach presented by Steven de Shazer and his counterparts provided therapist and
clients alike an opportunity to center in on the presenting issue, instead of prolonging
the process in search of hidden truths. While de Shazer presented an alternative
thought process to the therapeutic process, his model was the culmination of various
therapist and models continuing to push the envelope.
Historical Background
The American psychiatrist, Milton Erickson had been credited as one of the pioneers
for stepping away from conventional thinking. He suggested therapy must be
intensive and required a long term commitment. In fact, his stance of successful
therapy often did not necessitate a lengthy therapeutic relationship along with a small
change by the client was the catalyst needed to bring about larger change are both
cornerstones in SFBT (Visser, 2013). Psychiatrist Gregory Bateson was responsible
for two significant contributions in the development of SFBT. The first was his view
that the social environment each person resides in has a
Why I Exist Research Paper
People from different cultures and civilizations, all around the world believe in
some kind of a holy presence. Where did this belief in a holy being come from?
There must exist a being that is causing this belief. This certain being is I, your God.
I am intellectually indeterminate, possess genuine optionality, and I have bestowed
upon you the ability to have faith, and through faith, you have been able to believe
that I exist. But what is my reason for existence? This question needs to be answered
in order for you to understand why the world exists, for without me there would be
no world.
I exist, because my existence is good. The world you live in, the universe you wonder
upon, and the humans you interact with on the daily are the outcomes of my
divine doing and without my existence, none of this would be possible. There
exists a world because I have caused it to exist. I did not create the world because it
was needed nor was it created to solve any weaknesses. In fact, I created the world
because its creation was something of value to me. I wanted the beauty of the world
to be seen by others, and I wanted the creation of the world to showcase my glory.
Also, the world was created in order to have my image represented through humans. I
wanted the things that were a part of me, such as truth and goodness, to be part of
you. Furthermore, the world exists in order for morally imperfect beings to exist. ...

Intraoperative Room
During this weeks clinical rotation I was given the opportunity to observe how
nurses provide care in the post anesthesia care unit also known as the PACU. The
PACU is a place where patients go after receiving surgery and anesthesia. The
PACU provides patients with intense observation and care until the patient is stable
enough to be discharged home or to another unit in the hospital. Last semester my
fellow classmates and I was able to follow patients from the Preoperative area into
the intraoperative room. After observing preop and intraop it was nice to be able to
observe how care is managed postoperatively. After visualized how invasive many
of these surgeries are its nice to know there is a place where patients are cared for

They were pleasant, and very informative. They did an exceptional job explaining
the process of how they perform care. My fellow nursing students and I shadowed
Liz a registered nurse with vast experience working in the critical care setting. She
had a binder filled with educational information for the students. The binder
contained information on respiratory care including ABG interpretations, PostOP
nausea and vomiting, and abnormal ECG strips. In between patient care when we
had down time Liz went over the ECG strips with us. She also planned out a
scavenger hunt to locate commonly used IV solutions as well has other commonly
used equipment. My classmates and I mixed up some of the solutions so Liz
explained to us the difference and why it was important to know when and when
not to use specific solutions. Liz also created scenarios that nurses frequently come
across during patient care in the PACU. We were able to critically think of
interventions we would use if we were the nurses caring for this patient. Liz then
let us know if we was right or wrong and she then provided us with the rationale as
to why we would perform that specific intervention. I believe I learned from these
scenarios because she didn t just give us the answer instead she made us think and
then she explained it in a way that I was able to fully
Dental Tips For Dental Assistant
The teeth are one of the most important feature of our body. We use teeth to grind
and chew food every day. Teeth make us look fabulous when we smile at the camera.
Could you imagine if people have lost there teeth, how are they going to look and
how can they chew food? This was the reason I went to dental assisting school and
become a registered dental assistant. After high school, I have attended Concorde
Career College and received my dental assistant degree. Dental assistants assist the
dental operators such as dentists or dental hygienists in providing more efficient
dental treatment. We also preparing patients for treatment, sterilizing instruments,

The Battle Of The Byzantine Empire Essay
In a time where war was constant, the Byzantine army was a formidable force. The
Byzantine Empire, through most of its history was set up in military themes,
garrisoned by soldiers and governed by generals. This meant that the Empire was split
and the generals ruled large portions of the land with soldiers under their rule. The
Themes brought both a structure and security to the Byzantine Empireand army.
While they were created to maintain an army and save the empire money they were
not always beneficial. The themes placed soldiers on to farms as payment for a
mandatory service to the military. The themes also had downfalls. The Emperor of
the Byzantine Empire had to please the army in order to keep power; not all
Emperors understood this concept and the generals of the themes showed their
strength and over threw those Emperors who they saw as unfit. These themes were
meant to allow the Empire easy access to an army but, even with all its benefits it
still has its problems.
Diocletian, when he took power in Rome, worked to calm the army and build up
their defense. The army before Diocletian was only good at revolts, and not
impressive at actually defending the empire. Diocletian built up the army and set
standard pay for soldiers. He demanded that taxpayers either produce recruits or
either find some means to support the troops. He gave each section of the army a
strong leader whom he felt would not proclaim themselves Emperor, and then he
proclaimed them Emperor of
Social Policy And The Access Of The Judiciary System
What is Social Policy and the link to the Judiciary system
Social policy aims to improve human welfare and to meet human needs. Important
areas of social policy are wellbeing and welfare, unemployment insurance, pensions,
the NHS, social housing, family policy, social care, child protection, crime and
criminal justice and labour issues. It was said problems of children who were
deprived or abused have been connected closely with issues concerning young
offenders (Spicker.uk, 2015).This statement involves various roles from
professionals in the judiciary system. Under the Children s Act 1998 the local
authority s functions where to provide services which support children and their
families (Anon, 2015). Social workers would have had involvement during the
individual s young life and have already taken action in order to prevent the abuse
therefore preventing young offenders. In turn victim support would support the
individual if they are required in a court setting; they will advise if they are feeling
worried, nervous or afraid. If an individual becomes a young offender the Youth
offending teams within the court support them by; staying in touch with a young
person if they re sentenced in custody, charged with a crime and has to go to court or
if a young person is arrested. The youth offending team work closely with the
probation services (Gov.uk, 2015).

Business Strategies For Sacramento Business College

for their future and remain competitive in their respective markets. This essay will

regards to how they may benefit Sacramento Business College(SBC) in its long term
success as a firm. In addition to helping SBC consider its options this essay will offer
ideas for implementing the best fitting strategies for the college.

long term goals.
Concentrated Growth
Concentrated growth is the first strategy of the fifteen principal grand strategies,
Pearce Robinson (2015) define concentration growth as firms that direct resources to
the profitable growth of a single product, in a single market, with a single dominant
technology. Concentrated growth typically sees the most success in mature markets
where the product market is not saturated. Concentrated growth is one of the lowest
risk strategies, but only when used in a stable market because it typically does not
perform well in a market with a lot of up and down movement. A volatile market
could be disastrous if a company focuses in on one product and the market crashes
down around it. Sacramento Business College could potentially use concentrated
growth to build strength in one of their three major programs to build stronger
enrollment and program upgrades. The Information Technology (IT) program would
benefit the most from adopting a concentrated growth strategy because upgrading the
curriculum would be fairly simple compared the other programs and would be the
most profitable program to have increased enrollment in.
Market Development
Market development is the strategy of rebranding preexisting products, potentially
with minor cosmetic changes, and targeting new markets

Skepticism and the Philosophy of Language in Early Modern Thought
ABSTRACT: This paper discusses the importance of skeptical arguments for the
philosophy of language in early modern thought. It contrasts the rationalist conception
of language and knowledge with that of philosophers who adopt some sort of
skeptical position, maintaining that these philosophers end up by giving language a
greater importance than rationalists. The criticism of the rationalists appeal to natural
light is examined, as well as skeptical arguments limiting knowledge such as the so
called maker s knowledge argument. This argument is then seen as capital for
favoring a positive interpretation of the importance of language for knowledge. The
revival of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to this view it is this kind of intuitive knowledge that grounds the
possibility of certain knowledge. Skeptics, on the other hand, attacked the very notion
of intuitive knowledge, either rejecting it, or, such as the more moderate ones,
restricting its application to specific domains, e.g., mathematics.
My main contention is that skeptical arguments, which were mainly arguments
purporting to establish limits to knowledge, opened the way to the consideration of
language as an alternative to mind s intuitive powers in man s access to reality.
Linguistic representation became important as a way of avoiding some of the main
problems affecting mental representation. I intend to concentrate here on one specific
septic argument known as the maker s knowledge argument, stating that we can only
know what we create. My hypothesis is that the philosophical interest in language
can be understood in many cases as a result of an interpretation of language as man s
creation and therefore as part of the maker s knowledge tradition.
Two related questions are central to this analysis: (1) How Descartes and the
Cartesians (such as the authors of the Port Royal Logic) considered language and its
role in the philosophical
Ronald Reagan’s A Time For Choosing Speech Essay
Millions of viewers tuned into the National Broadcasting Company television
network for a special broadcast on the 27th of October. Viewers were anticipating
Ronald Reagan s A Time for Choosing speech. Reagan was acknowledged for his
acting in motion pictures and television episodes since 1937, and was now being
seen in an unfamiliar role. Reagan emerged in support of the Republican nominee
Barry Goldwater. Barry Morris Goldwater was a businessman and five term United
States Senator from Arizona and the Republican Party s nominee for president in the
1964 election. A Time for Choosing was effective, because he gave personal examples
to capture the audiences attention, and gave humor to a tough subject. The United

For the audience he gives them examples of how government interference hurts
Americans and also allusions to past times such as the revolution and how the
founding fathers did not want a big government. He shares that he has an
uncomfortable feeling that this prosperity isn t something on which we base our
hopes the future. Reagan s ability to connect with his audience was rare and unlike
many of his colleagues. Whether the topics he spoke on were always relevant to that
of the listener, it did not always matter.
Reagan had gained strong speaking skills while previously working in the acting
industry thus enabling him to better connect with his audience. Reagan believes that
the country is headed in the wrong direction and that America has several challenges
at home and abroad. America s government was in an economic crisis during the
time this speech was given. He knew the citizens needed to hear something strong
and powerful that promised change for a better way of life. A Time for Choosing
was deliberative and not only informed and inspired the audience but it also provided
America with a lighthearted source of entertainment. The style changes at the end of
the speech and establishes an optimistic anticipation for the future. Reagan constructs
the case for Goldwater and states in his closing sentence We will keep in mind and
remember that Barry Goldwater has faith in us. He has faith
Racial Identity And Gender Identity
In a recent South Park episode, titles The Cissy , in order for his own personal gain
to use the girls bathroom and later to receive his own bathroom, Cartman dons a
pink bow on his head to become Erica. Meanwhile, Randy Marsh (as known as
Lorde to most and Stan s dad) must battle with his gender identity and that of his
music as women at his work are uncomfortable with sharing a bathroom with him,
therefore he must receive his own against his wishes. While both Cartman s and
Randy Marsh s struggles with their genderidentity revolve around the use of a
bathroom, through the juxtaposition of the actions of shooting a school and
becoming transgender, the symbolism of the executive bathroom, and the final scene
of Stan singing in the bathroom designated for Cissys reveal society s inability to
comprehend gender identity struggles, thus exposing the uselessness of gender
labeling. The juxtaposition of the actions of shooting a school and wearing a bow
cause laughter from the audience thus revealing society s inability to comprehend the
seriousness of both actions. In the beginning of the episode, the audience is shown a
scene of Eric Cartmancontemplating what the audience assumes is a school shooting,
for he says They ve laughed at me, poked fun at me... They don t know what s in my
right pocket but they ll know soon enough and they ll pay, (The Cissy). This, coupled
with the menacing music playing in the background, further emphasizes the
importance of Cartman s
Lord Of The Flies Are Humans Good Or Bad
Do you think that humans are good or bad? Throughout history, it can be seen that
humans have not always treated others kindly. Even though some humans act kind,
there are still many ways humans are bad. I believe that humans are bad because of
how they treat each other in the book and how people have treated each other
throughout history. William Goldings novelLord of the Flies shows that humans are
bad through how they treat each other. In the book, the other boys on the island
treat Piggy differently because he is different than the others. For example, he has
asthma, is fat, and wears glasses. The other boys treat him as if he and his opinions
and ideas don t matter. Also in the book, some of the boys fight with each other. For

For example, white people always treated black people differently through
segregation. In history, black people were treated differently because of their race.
They had different places they could eat, separate drinking fountains, and things
for the black people weren t as good of quality as things the white people had.
Another example is that black people would have to give up their seat on the bus
or train is a white person wanted to sit. This can relate back to the Lord of the Flies
because in the book Piggy was treated differently as were the black people. Another
example from history that supports Golding s view that society is bad is the
Holocaust. During this time, many people were murdered and put in prison
camps. This relates back to the Lord of the Flies because two people were
murdered and one kid went missing. Also, in the book, a couple boys were tied up
unless they agreed to do what Jack wanted, which relates back to history because
people were sent to prison camps. I think that humans are bad because in the book,
they treated Piggy differently, just like black people were treated differently than
white. Also, there were two murders in the book. Which can relate to history because
many people were murdered during the

The nurse should act as a facilitator, creating an environment conducive to learning
that motivates individuals to want to learn and makes it possible for them to learn
(Musinski, 1999). The assessment of learning needs, the designing of a teaching plan,
the implementation of instructional methods and materials, and the evaluation of
teaching and learning should include participation by both the educator and the
learner. Thus, the emphasis should be on the facilitation of learning from a
nondirective rather than a didactic teaching approach (Knowles, Holton, Swanson,
1998; Musinski, 1999; Mangena Chabeli, 2005; Donner et al., 2005).
No longer should teachers see themselves as simply transmitters of content. Indeed,
the role of the educator has shifted from the traditional position of being the giver of
information to that of a process designer and coordinator. This role alteration from
the traditional teacher centered to the learner centered approach is a paradigm shift
that requires skill in needs assessment as well as the ability to involve learners in
planning, link learners to learning resources, and encourage learner initiative

  • 2. The Positive Effects Of Terrorism Wherever anyone goes anyone is vulnerable to terrorism. Terrorism is something that is a very horrific thing and effects everyone that went through it and the people watching the news and newspapers. The effects of terrorism can be very dangerous, sometimes it can even be deadly. In the last of couple of years around 50 terrorist attacks have been in the united states. Around 200 in the world, just last week there was an attackon the London bridge. ISIS even has claimed that they planned the attack. For anybody that doesn t know who ISIS is they are a terrorismorganization that people say are more extreme than al Qaida or any other terrorist group in the world. Terrorism effects the world around us and it isn t pretty we have all seen it manifest its self in so many ways on the earth. Whenever Terrorism Occurs People all over the world react differently, some effects can be, Countries increasing their security, it can be anything from Airports to the borders and the boats that arrive on land. Just like when 9/11 happened George W. Bush closed all subways so no one could travel and that stopped a couple more of attacks from happening. However, it turned out to be that all the attacks were fake except the twin towers and the pentagon. Increasing Security has helped a lot of life s and it can have positive effects on people. Anyone can feel safe at the end of the day knowing that their country is increasing security so it would be harder to even plan something horrific.
  • 3. Essay about Research Critical Analysis Journal Article Evaluation: Barinaga, E. (2007) Cultural diversity at work: National culture as a discourse organizing an international project group, Human Relations, 60(2): 315 340. Ester Barinaga s paper on multinational work teams and how they organize themselves using national culture and cultural diversity as discursive resources is critically discussed, with special attention paid to the limitations of her research approach. This review proceeds as follows. First, the theoretical framework is briefly outlined in which Barinaga embeds the specific angle of her research project. Then follows a critical description of the international team she followed, her chosen method of observation and the findings she presents. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While she clearly positions her research approach within the wider framework of the field, she fails to mention the Global Leadership and Organizational Behaviour Effectiveness Research Project (GLOBE) initiated by R. House (House et al., 2002). Although its large scale, quantitative research approach differs from her ethnographic study and takes on the positivist stance she is arguing against, it deserves mentioning as both research projects explore the impact of cultural diversity on organizational processes in multinational work teams. Research Approach Using the term discourse as coined by Foucault (1980), Barinaga explores in depth how team members make sense of their daily group life by way of their discourse on cultural diversity . To gain insight into the actors construction of themselves and others (Baszanger Dodier, 1997, in Barinaga, 2007), she therefore chose ethnographic research methods to collect a comprehensive body of qualitative data on one work team with members from five different countries. She closely followed every workshop and communication between meetings over a course of 17 month and recorded meetings, interviewed team members individually and collected all documents produced by or passed around in the group. Additionally she asked each team member via e mail

As critical as these surface waters may be, just a little number are kept up and found in their normal condition because of concentrated anthropogenic exercises, for example, urbanization and surface water contamination, in this manner, making it an awesome natural issue on the planet everywhere (Zhao et al., 2011). Frequently than not, these waterways and streams are profoundly powerless water bodies in view of the part they play in carting away and taking in point (local wastewater and mechanical release) and non point source (farming and urban spillover) contaminations (Carpenter et al., 1998). Wastewater release from local and mechanical situations makes up a steady dirtying source, though surface spillover from urbanized and farming situations are to a great extent affected by climatic conditions inside a watershed (Singh et al., 2004). Regular variety in precipitation (downpour) and its related surface overflow stream strongly affect surface water release and, in this manner, on the centralization of toxins in waterways, streams and lakes (Booth, 1991, Vega et al., 1998). • 5. How Did Jk Rowling Change The World We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already. We have the power to imagine better. To explain what this quote is saying, because her most famous book series is Harry Potter, she is saying we don t need magic to make a difference. We have all the power to do it inside of us and we have all the power to imagine a better place to create. She is telling us that our idea that changing the world needs huge acts is wrong, we just need to imagine and start. Even small things effect the world. J.K. Rowling is the person I will be doing my report on. She is an important figure in American History because she impacted our lives with many amazing and creative written works and ideas. J.K. Rowling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rowling had an early start to beginning to her career path. Rowling s mother was a big influence on who she became today. The start of her career was very early. Rowling loved to read and write even as a young child. Her favorite books included the stories of The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge, Manxmouse by Paul Gallico, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. As a young six year old, she wrote a story about a rabbit who was named Rabbit. In 1990, she started writing the first Harry potter book after a train ride with her boyfriend. She has said that she had many ideas but she did not have a pen on the train and why very shy at this point, so she didn t want to ask for one. When she got home, she started writing all her ideas and the first chapter. She wrote nearly every night and then sent the first three chapters to an agent in 1996. Rowling has always had thoughts of publishing. She even thought as a six year old to do this, sadly this never happened and we will never get to read the story of Rabbit the rabbit. She had to overcome the decease of her mother (who she was close to) to continue writing and coming up with ideas. It is a good thing she did, otherwise we would not have the amazing works of fantasy today. J.K. Rowling has always been interested in her field of
  • 6. The Tortoise And The Hare Essay As a child I really enjoyed reading books, this may been because my mother and father would try to read to me each night before bed. One of my favorite bedtime stories would be Aesop s fable particularly the Tortoise and the Hare. Although the Hare was talented and had all the fittings to be a champion, despite that his arrogance made him lose the race when he decided to sleep during the race. To this day I have personally resonated with the idea of the underdog overcoming any obstacles, and that is what the tortoisesignifies. The tortoise understood that although he was not in the best position to win the race instead of giving up and not competing he took his neck out of shell, tried his best, and persevered which caused him the victory. I truly resonate with the Tortoise in this fable because of their idealistic, dedicated, and hardworking personality. Another reason would be the tortoise s ability to be able to retreat into their shell when ever they pleased. Depending on the situation and how uncomfortable I am I can pull into my shell for protection and comfort. In addition tortoises are difficult to get to know because of their shell and they come off as private, reserved, and self conscious. Even though I believe that all people are equal, yet sometimes I lack confidence and doubt myself. You can see this if you monitor me in the classroom and in sport. My coach will always say Bema at the beginning of a race your body language tells me you don t belong
  • 7. Mount Tambora and the Year Without a Summer Essay Mount Tambora is a large stratovolcano located on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia. It lies approximately 210 miles north of the Java Trench and is flanked to the north and south by oceanic crust. Its current summit elevation is around 9,350 feet (Smithsonian Institute). To the south east of the volcano lies the Sanggar peninsula, which is a part of Tambora. There are two cities, Dompu and Clima, and three concentrations of villages near the mountain slope: Sanggar, Doro Peti and Pesanggrahan, and Calabai. Figure 1. Map of Mount Tambora and Sumbawa Mount Tambora is best known for the eruption that occurred in April 1815. The eruption was so large it ranked 7 out of 8 on the Volcanic Explosivity Index scale. Reported from Sanggar were reports of three columns of flame that merged at a very great height. Pumice stones of up to 20cm then began to fall at 8 p.m. with ash between 9 and 10 p.m. Then violent winds blew toward Sanggar between 10 and 11 p.m. Possible pyroclastic flows that buried the village of Tambora could be attributed to the winds. A tsunami of 4 meters hit Sanggar a short time before 10 p.m., indicating a sudden entry of the pyroclastic flow into the sea. The explosions could be heard as far away as 1050 km and in many places produced concussions that resembled small earthquakes (Stothers, 1984). The next day the explosions were louder and could be heard as far away as 2600 km. The ash veil was spreading out over a vast extending as far as western Java. In spots within 600 km of the volcano the sky remained pitch dark for 1 or 2 days, the hot was reported to be extremely hot and then cold. A nitrous odor was noticeable as far west as Batavia (Stothers, 1984). The ash finally stopped falling between the 14th and
  • 8. Collin Labranche. May 9Th, 2017. Barosky. English 102. Collin LaBranche May 9th, 2017 Barosky English 102 Home The novel Gulliver s Travels by Jonathan Swift displays the vast difference of the Houyhnhnms society in comparison to ours. Harrison s essay describes the way our society perceives home much differently than the way Houyhnhnms do. In modern day, and more specifically in the 18th century the family system that we associate with views home as a place for love, family, and support. On the side of Passion and all private desires and affections: all those, that is, whose satisfaction is either indifferent or potentially contrary to the welfare of hte community (Harrison 47). Reason is the key to a perfect society in their mind. But this is where we separate completely as societies, to create a perfect family humans would not usually give up their child to fill others needs. We are to selfish and place family members ahead of others. The Houyhnhnms have a very orderly society where there are no preferences made and because of not having any preferences towards their young and between each other, we cannot assume that the Houyhnhnms have a socially impaired society simply for the reason our two different ideas on family do not correlate at all. Family structure for the Houyhnhnms in comparison to Swift s time during the 18th century or even modern day is different as well. They have a very utopian sense of family in which they have a set number of children that they are suppose to have. As stated through the novel, preferably each couple wants to produce one boy and one girl and if this is not fulfilled then they give away one of their children in return for a child of the opposite sex. The goal of this is to in turn create a perfect society that each Houyhnhnm seeks as their life
  • 9. Basic Aspects Of Standards Research Introduction This paper will discuss various aspects of standards research. First, it will select one of the working groups in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) or Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and thoroughly summarize what this group is working on. Next, this paper will justify the need of the IEEE 802 standard used in networking. Also, it will evaluate the three standard organizations including IEEE, ISO, and ANSI to determine the most important for communication technology. Finally, this paper will describe the author s position on the need for a Federal regulating body of standards such as NIST. Clearly, the OPSAWG focuses on the operations side of the house, and would be the most logical working group to submit a request for review of an operational guideline. Specifically, the focus of this WG is on topics that manage the behavior of other working groups in the O M area (e.g., manageability requirements). Equally important, it focuses on small, highly focused projects that do not warrant a separate working group, or belong to ones that have already concluded (e.g. advancement of documents on the standards track, application statements, extensions of MIB modules). (Operations and management area working group, n.d., para 3). IEEE 802 The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) decided that there was a significant need for a set of rules or standards for data to travel from one computer to another. Essentially, it decided to standardize these methods for data packets transfers by implementing a set of rules and regulations called IEEE 802 standards. Consequently, these standards help the industry by providing advantages such as low product cost, interoperability, and easy to manage standards, divided into many parts. Interestingly, these standard parts include everything from cabling to network standards. Of note, these IEEE standards affect only Local Area Networks (LAN) and Metropolitan Area Networks

  • 16. The Myth Of The American Gods Some may ask, what is a myth. To the common person, a myth is a work of fiction : an untrue story made obsolete by modern society. A myth is a story that cannot be taken literally. For the sake of making the definition clear, a myth is a story; it is a narrative; it is what helps people make sense of a complicated world through different perspectives and experiences. Sometimes, these stories have lessons that people can interpret from the events of them. Gaiman certainly has written a myth: the myth of the American Gods. He has used past myths, those from ancient civilizations, to create a world full of gods. He has created a myth about what America is within the narrative of those gods. He has even modeled how religion plays out in this mythological America. Gaiman s narrative introduces a somewhat complex system of characters; he has created a world in which the gods (not omniscient creator gods) live among the people and cohabitate with them. The common person cannot tell a god apart from them; they can sense something different about them, as Laura and Sam both sense something different about Shadow from them. Laura, after she dies, claims that Shadow may not be dead, but he most certainly is not alive (Pg#). This shows that the gods are not explicitly known to be living among mortals, but mortals can sense something strange about them. Gaiman also creates a myth about the popular gods who have taken the place of the modern gods. These include the gods of Media

As we observe the integrity found in the life of Daniel, we catch him in Chapter 6 headed to the lion s den. The famous Bible story of Daniel and the lions den is more than a simple account of God s deliverance. It also shows that no one is a match for the true God. Daniel had been in captivity approximately 66 years serving faithfully and with distinction in the reign of the Babylonian kings Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar. When the Medo Persian Empire conquered Babylon, Daniel begins serving King Darius. With Daniel s background and wisdom, he is quickly promoted by the new king to an elevated position of envy. Michael Speaks would have attributed the lack of new in the architecture of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier s era to cohesion to general manifestoes produce outside their time period. Architects from later time periods cannot pursue the same manifesto because technological advances in design must be considered. His arguments reveal that following a general manifesto from start to finish will produce an unchanging architecture. Michael Speaks wrote, I do not believe we need another manifesto in architecture, even of the incomplete, aborted or personal variety. Architecture, it seems has suffered enough from the illusion that manifestoes matter (except insofar as they stifle creativity) and it is time we found other ways of developing experimental practices ... Vanguards, with their five points, seven principles and ten theses for a new architecture, draw a line that leads straight from the manifesto to the new. And because the completion of this line is best that can be hoped for, there is nothing new about the new. If architects followed the same lines to solve the same problems, a new architecture could not be actualized. A separation from the lines between manifesto and solution made way for discovery of design and methods of creating new architecture. Mies van der Rohe and Le
  • 28. Essay on Anne Fausto-Sterling s The Five Sexes Exploring the Social Standards of Sex and Gender There are several sources that tell a person how to be a man or woman. Science tells us by recognizing the X or Y chromosomes. The media shows us through the physically ideal celebrities that grace the covers of magazines and flaunt their bodies in commercials. Sports, wrestling, cars, and blue for the boys. Dresses, make up, painted nails, and pink for the girls. All of these sources, as well as others, have evolved into an expectation that has become institutionalized within society. Fausto Sterling explains this in her The Five Sexes: Why Male and Female are Not Enough : Firstly, the term intersex is used in medical literature to describe the so called true hermaphrodite (possesses one testis and one ovary), the male pseudohermaphrodite (possess testes and some aspects of the female genitalia, but no ovaries), and female pseudohermaphadites (possess ovaries and some aspects of the male genitalia but lack testes). I had no idea that there were subgroups to the intersexed . Due to social conformity, along with the advancement of technology and surgical procedure intersexed persons are aimed to be fixed at birth. Although otherwise healthy, there is a need to perform surgery on the baby in order to remove certain sexual organs that don t fit with the perfect idea of what a girl or boy should look like. However, not many can say they became pregnant when they have never had sex. Jane the Virgin is a CW network television program about Jane Villanueva, a religious young woman who has never had sexual intercoursebut becomes pregnant by an accidental artificial insemination. Due to the nature of the main character s situation, the topic of sex, virginity, and conception is often discussed, as well as what it means to be a virgin. Later on in the episode, Michael asks what he can do to improve the experience for, and asked if she enjoyed the other things, they did before marriage; Jane says yes and Michael asks if she would like to try those other things again, to which Jane once more agrees. Jane and Michael then engage in oral sex. This scene shows the viewer that perhaps Jane is not as stout a Catholic as previously thought, and that Jane views the loss of virginity not as the engagement of any sexual activity, but when a person has penetrative sex; since she and Michael are a heterosexual, male and female couple, this means that true sex to her is only when a penis is inserted into her vagina. This fits the older, more specific Christian belief that a woman is no longer a virgin if she does not have a hymen, something that can be lost in penetrative sex, but this point in the television show, she is a mother to her young son, Mateo; she gave birth to Mateo vaginally, so if she did still have a hymen, it would no longer be intact. Jane has previously engaged in sexual activity and no longer has a physically intact hymen, but she is still a virgin because she considers herself a virgin, something the show is unique in

The style is highly allusive and Joyce deliberately confuses the narrative by making a pastiche of the styles of several genres together while presenting the flows of the continuous thoughts of the principal characters. Here for the first time Joyce also employed the interior monologue which is deemed to be the purest form of the stream of consciousness mode. In Joyce s third and last novel Finnegans Wake (1939) the complexity of the stream of consciousness technique reaches its heights necessitating the text s being one of the least read ones in any language. In this novel Joyce used around forty languages other than English and presented an awkwardly extensive range of literary, mythical, political and historical allusions while narrating the one night dream sequence of the protagonist, a Dublin tavern keeper named Humphrey Chimpden Earwicker. Apart from Joyce, Virginia Woolf also made remarkable contribution to the development of the stream of consciousness mode in the modernist English fiction. In Mrs. Dalloway (1925) Woolf presents the diverse mental recourses of Clarissa Dalloway within the span of one single day, and in the interior monologue of Mrs. Dalloway the narrative breaks with the realistic mode in order to suit the inner reality of the narrator s psyche which is different from the external reality by which she is surrounded. McMinn had advocated for the Christians who are counselors for many years. McMinn is very experienced in the work and in his field of study. One of the biggest things that McMinn stresses is the importance of establishing and maintaining a good trustworthy relationship with the client and showing ways of how to confront the client as a therapeutic approach.. The major purpose for this is to create and achieve a lasting change to the client so that the counseling process can be effective (McMinn, 1996). Summary In effect, Mark McMinn has utilized theology, spirituality and psychology to help individuals in enhancing diverse concepts of their lives. Notably, the author articulates clearly that the counselor should be strong particularly in their personal spirituality. Hence, this is important because it is the only way to assist their clients appropriately in the counseling process. Traditionally, literature portrays races in a certain light, usually white references to purity or honesty, and black to evil and lies. Before even reading Conrad s novella there is already a preconceived idea of race for the reader. One example of this can be seen through Allingham s analysis of the symbolism used throughout the novella, as the story unfolds, Marlow reverses the normal symbology of the black white dichotomy, so that gradually darkness comes to mean truth, whiteness falsehood (Allingham). For the previous century, the profession had been dominated by theories and practices, which was focused on unearthing a client s repressed memories or family issues in hopes of identifying cracks in their mental and /or their emotional foundation that needed to be fixed. The change in perspective and approach presented by Steven de Shazer and his counterparts provided therapist and clients alike an opportunity to center in on the presenting issue, instead of prolonging the process in search of hidden truths. While de Shazer presented an alternative thought process to the therapeutic process, his model was the culmination of various therapist and models continuing to push the envelope. The Themes brought both a structure and security to the Byzantine Empireand army. While they were created to maintain an army and save the empire money they were not always beneficial. According to this view it is this kind of intuitive knowledge that grounds the possibility of certain knowledge. Skeptics, on the other hand, attacked the very notion of intuitive knowledge, either rejecting it, or, such as the more moderate ones, restricting its application to specific domains, e.g., mathematics. My main contention is that skeptical arguments, which were mainly arguments purporting to establish limits to knowledge, opened the way to the consideration of language as an alternative to mind s intuitive powers in man s access to reality. Linguistic representation became important as a way of avoiding some of the main problems affecting mental representation. I intend to concentrate here on one specific septic argument known as the maker s knowledge argument, stating that we can only know what we create. My hypothesis is that the philosophical interest in language can be understood in many cases as a result of an interpretation of language as man s creation and therefore as part of the maker s knowledge tradition. Two related questions are central to this analysis: (1) How Descartes and the Cartesians (such as the authors of the Port Royal Logic) considered language and its role in the philosophical

  • 49. Racial Identity And Gender Identity In a recent South Park episode, titles The Cissy , in order for his own personal gain to use the girls bathroom and later to receive his own bathroom, Cartman dons a pink bow on his head to become Erica. Meanwhile, Randy Marsh (as known as Lorde to most and Stan s dad) must battle with his gender identity and that of his music as women at his work are uncomfortable with sharing a bathroom with him, therefore he must receive his own against his wishes. While both Cartman s and Randy Marsh s struggles with their genderidentity revolve around the use of a bathroom, through the juxtaposition of the actions of shooting a school and becoming transgender, the symbolism of the executive bathroom, and the final scene of Stan singing in the bathroom designated for Cissys reveal society s inability to comprehend gender identity struggles, thus exposing the uselessness of gender labeling. The juxtaposition of the actions of shooting a school and wearing a bow cause laughter from the audience thus revealing society s inability to comprehend the seriousness of both actions. In the beginning of the episode, the audience is shown a scene of Eric Cartmancontemplating what the audience assumes is a school shooting, for he says They ve laughed at me, poked fun at me... They don t know what s in my right pocket but they ll know soon enough and they ll pay, (The Cissy). This, coupled with the menacing music playing in the background, further emphasizes the importance of Cartman s

Even though some humans act kind, there are still many ways humans are bad. I believe that humans are bad because of how they treat each other in the book and how people have treated each other throughout history. William Goldings novelLord of the Flies shows that humans are bad through how they treat each other. In the book, the other boys on the island treat Piggy differently because he is different than the others. For example, he has asthma, is fat, and wears glasses. The other boys treat him as if he and his opinions and ideas don t matter. Also in the book, some of the boys fight with each other. For example,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, white people always treated black people differently through segregation. In history, black people were treated differently because of their race. They had different places they could eat, separate drinking fountains, and things for the black people weren t as good of quality as things the white people had. Another example is that black people would have to give up their seat on the bus or train is a white person wanted to sit. This can relate back to the Lord of the Flies because in the book Piggy was treated differently as were the black people. Another example from history that supports Golding s view that society is bad is the Holocaust. During this time, many people were murdered and put in prison camps. This relates back to the Lord of the Flies because two people were murdered and one kid went missing. Also, in the book, a couple boys were tied up unless they agreed to do what Jack wanted, which relates back to history because people were sent to prison camps. I think that humans are bad because in the book, they treated Piggy differently, just like black people were treated differently than white. Also, there were two murders in the book. Which can relate to history because many people were murdered during the

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nurse should act as a facilitator, creating an environment conducive to learning that motivates individuals to want to learn and makes it possible for them to learn (Musinski, 1999). The assessment of learning needs, the designing of a teaching plan, the implementation of instructional methods and materials, and the evaluation of teaching and learning should include participation by both the educator and the learner. Thus, the emphasis should be on the facilitation of learning from a nondirective rather than a didactic teaching approach (Knowles, Holton, Swanson, 1998; Musinski, 1999; Mangena Chabeli, 2005; Donner et al., 2005). No longer should teachers see themselves as simply transmitters of content. Indeed, the role of the educator has shifted from the traditional position of being the giver of information to that of a process designer and coordinator. This role alteration from the traditional teacher centered to the learner centered approach is a paradigm shift that requires skill in needs assessment as well as the ability to involve learners in planning, link learners to learning resources, and encourage learner initiative (Knowles et al., 1998; Mangena Chabeli,
