Argumentative Essay Model
Crafting an essay on the "Argumentative Essay Model" can prove to be a challenging endeavor.
The difficulty lies not only in presenting a well-structured argument but also in navigating the
intricate nuances of persuasive writing. To create a compelling argumentative essay model, one
must delve into extensive research, analyze various perspectives, and synthesize information
coherently.
The challenge further intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between presenting a strong
viewpoint and acknowledging opposing arguments. Constructing a persuasive essay model
requires meticulous planning, organization, and a profound understanding of the topic at hand. It
demands the ability to critically evaluate evidence, anticipate counterarguments, and formulate a
convincing case that resonates with the audience.
Moreover, the complexity lies in the art of seamlessly integrating evidence to support claims
while maintaining clarity and logical flow. Crafting a well-rounded argumentative essay model
necessitates the mastery of language, ensuring that each word contributes to the overall
persuasiveness of the piece. The writer must navigate the terrain of rhetorical devices, ensuring
their skillful deployment to enhance the persuasive impact.
In addition to the intellectual challenges, time management becomes a crucial aspect. The
process of brainstorming, researching, drafting, revising, and polishing can be time-consuming.
Juggling these elements while maintaining a coherent and persuasive narrative adds another layer
of difficulty.
Despite these challenges, mastering the art of constructing an argumentative essay model is a
valuable skill. It not only hones one's critical thinking abilities but also enhances the capacity to
articulate ideas effectively. As the saying goes, "The harder the struggle, the greater the
triumph," and successfully navigating the complexities of an argumentative essay model can
indeed be a rewarding achievement.

India s Total India Focused Fund
INTRODUCTION
India has been a focal point of economic development and entrepreneurial ventures in
the recent past and continues to attract traction in funding, fostering and growing
startups in the country. To cite a few examples, Sequoia Capital raised its fourth India

Disney s Success as a Company Essay
The Walt Disney Studio s Diversity Mission Statement is To create an inclusive

The Walt Disney Company, according to an EPA report based on 2005 records,
has reduced an equivalent of more than 71,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide
(Disney, 2008). Continual planning and organization is underway to enhance
green building designs for all Disney hotels by next Earth Day. Disney s officials
say they are very committed and with great leadership and control it is definitely
possible (Disney, 2008). External factors are those that affect business from
outside the organization. There are several external factors that affect the outcome
of day to day business, even for a huge corporation like Disney. Walt Disney has
been known for its family entertainment for more than eight decades. It started
small in the 1920s and has grown phenomenally today to a global corporation.
Even a business this powerful and profitable is affected by external factors.
According to Dictionary.com, the definition of globalization is to extend to other
or all parts of the globe; make worldwide (Dictionary.com, 2008). Globalization can
have a huge impact on the four functions of management. In order to achieve
success, a company must have a plan or goal set in action. Once a company decides
to go global, it has to decide its market. For example, Disney has over 25

Project Report Wireless Security Control System Sensor Network for Smoke Fire
Detection
By Abdulrahman Alsaadi
EE 548
Abstract The project entails the design and engineering of a wireless smoke detector
unit and network. The premise of the wireless network is to alert and set off all of
the smoke detectors in the network if one smoke detector is set off. With our current
progress we have enough equipment for two smoke detectors. The hardware modules
include the PIC microcontroller (arduino), temperature sensor, and smoke sensor. In
its complete implementation, it will consist of a structure with two separate rooms.
This structure will act as a model of a home with two rooms.
I. Introduction
A smoke detector is a device that detects any changes in the air and issues an alarm
to alert nearby people that there is a potential danger. Smoke alarms are self
contained devices that incorporate a means of detecting a fire and give a warning.
The size of a smoke detector is about the size of the palm. They can detect fires in
their early stages to give people precious minutes to enable them to safety and others
in the vicinity. The term wirelessis normally used to refer to any type of electrical
or electronic operation without the use of hard wired connection. Wireless
communication transfer information over a distance without the use of wires. This
is possible by using electromagnetic waves or radio frequency (RF) to carry a signal
over part or the entire
Examples Of Dramatic Effectiveness In The End Of Act 1
What dramatic Effectiveness does Miller present by the end of Act 1? In the end
of Act 1 in a view from the bridge, miller uses a mixture emotions; such as fear,
anxiety, doubt, shock and amusement to present dramatic effectiveness as well as
the progress of the characters relations and personalities by the end of the act to
arise these emotions in the audience, in addition to this Miller uses the end of act 1
to set the theme of human nature and consequences. By the end of act 1, Eddie
appears to have playfully initiated a boxing match, where it appears that he is
teaching Rodolpho how to box, however, the constant praise surrounding Rodolpho,
He s very good, arises the resentment, Eddie held inside of him because ever since

Marco s action suggests he s protective of his little brother and is quite threatening
from the aspect that he rises to defend him if necessary. This is significant to the
audience because it foreshadows that Eddie s impulsive behavior will be the
reason he loses Marco s respect as well as It will be the reason he won t have a
friend in the world. Moreover, Miller strengthens the idea, that Marco s respectful
relationship with Eddie is fading, when Marco asserts his authority, superiority
and predominance over Eddie. This is highlighted when Marco is face to face with
Eddie. which is significant because it suggests that Marco is confrontational which
is a distinction from how he was presented at the beginning of the play as quiet
voiced which suggests that his appreciation for Eddie taking them in doesn t
matter if he will hurt his brother. This creates a sense of anxiety in the audience as
Marco proceeds to raise the chair like a weapon over Eddie s head. which infers
that Marco is threatening Eddie because he has been patient with his absurd
behavior the entire time, asking his brother to listen to his unreasonable demands
he will bring her home early. The use of the simile like a weapon to warn Eddie is
to suggest that Marco is overpowering and is stronger, than he is since Eddie couldn
t lift the chair himself, which causes his grin to vanish which infers fear and worry as
he is facing a the consequence of his action; punching
The KCOM Group VRIO Analysis
The KCOM Group VRIO Analysis
The core competency of our laggard, KCOM, is their strong focus on customers;
KCOM s entire organization is structured around the market they serve in order to
deliver a high quality customer experience. The Group focuses not solely on
providing low cost for their customer s like TalkTalk Telecom, but on listening closely
to their customer s needs, in turn creating long term customer relationships. Using
Barney s VRIO analytic framework to assess this competency yields the following:
VALUE? Yes, KCOM s focus on the customer provides an obvious customer value
and competitive advantage amongst its competitors.
RARENESS? Of course KCOM Group isn t the only wireless communication
company that focuses on their customers, but their focus on the customer operates at
every level throughout the Group.
IMITABILITY? It isn t costly to focus on customers, but a goodstrategy must be in
place in order for it to be done correctly.
ORGANIZATION? Yes, KCOM as structured their organization around the distinct
markets they serve to deliver a high quality customer experience.
The KCOM Group s distinctive competency is their strategic relationship with BT
Wholesale and Phoenix IT. The strategic relationship with BT gives them both an
extended market and network reach through its access to BT s national network. The
relationship with Phoenix gives them access to industry leading field service
engineering and maintenance services. After looking at the extended
Minority entrepreneurs have many barriers they have to...
Minority entrepreneurs have many barriers they have to overcome in order to be
successful. Some typical problems they face are limited access to capital, lower
equity investments, and less exposure to entrepreneurship. Minority entrepreneurs
are twice as likely to be turned down for traditional lending, which can discourage
them from even applying for a loan. Not only that but they are less likely to be
considered by traditional or angel investors. They also generally live in run down
areas, with poor schooling and less access to successful people. One entrepreneur
who has hurdled over all the barriers and became extremely successful is Russell
Simmons, the co founder of Def Jam Records.

There hasn t been a label whose fortunes have been so intertwined with hip hops
fortune. However, they were not the first label to put out rap and not as many
revolutionary artists as one might think. So why do they have an almost mythical
status? Def Jam got its status because Simmons recognized the worth of hip hop
music, and saw how it could expand into a cultural revolution. Def Jam s started in
Rick Ruban s NYU dorm, with each Simmons and Rubin only investing a few
thousand dollars each. Their first official release was LL Cool J s I need a Beat. It sold
more than 100,000 copies giving Simmons the leverage he needed to cut a deal
with CBS Records for distribution. This deal was the first of its kind for hip hop.
Simmons secured Def Jams future by making clever decisions that seemed insane
at the time, such as pairing Run D.M.C. with Aerosmith on the cover of Walk This
Way. The video of this duo finally got hip hop onto MTV, which had a negative
view on rap at the time. Rubin left Def Jam in 1988, making Simmons the sole
head of the company. Simmons also tried his hand in producing movies; his
company s name is Simmons Lathan Media. His first of which was called Krush
Groove (1985). This was a fiction that was loosely based on Simmons life. It was
originally supposed to be a plotless vehicle
Analysis Of The Film Bears Discover Fire
The film Bears Discover Fire written by Terry Bisson is a film that was produced
by college students. This film covers many different controversial topics. The book
allows for many different perceptions of these topics to be seen.. Although the title of
the film has a scientific feeling, it is more of a fantasy than a science fiction film. In
the film Bears Discover fire one may interpret the movie as more of a fantasy film,
with that being said the elements of a fantasy story base line can be perceived in a
much bigger picture. In the film Bears Discover Fire one may preserve the film as
fansty. In the film, there are parts of the story line that truly cannot happen during
this time on earth. For example, when the bears are standing upright. In this scene
one may think to themselves that this is something that can/ will not happen. Today
s bears are not capable of standing upright and walking. Another example of a
fantasy can be seen when the bears are walking around with fire. This scene shows
signs of a fantasy because, a normal bearwould not be capable of walking around
with fire in their paws and setting up campfires. A final example of a fantasy in the
film can be seen when, the grandma, Junior and Bobby are having a campfire with
the bears in the woods. This is a scene that one might fantasize over. That is because
it is not normal for humans to be close to a live bear and simple have a campfire
with them. At this point a normal bear would have been frightened
Code Division Multiple Access
INTRODUCTION:
Code division multiple access (CDMA) is a technology which is used for radio
communication purpose. Multiple access technique is a broad area for
communication purpose , CDMA is an example of multiple access technology,
through which several number of transmitter can send information in a single
communication channel. In case of CDMA a particular bandwidth can shared between
several number of users. To permit this technique to achieve without undue
interference between users, spread spectrum technology and a special coding
scheme are used by CDMA. In modern era every people want to use things which
is smaller in size, can have more functionality and cost. This can only possible if we
can integrate more and more functionality into a single chip which helps achieve our
objective and demand. To achieve this human wanting the scientists have developed
a new concept that is nanotechnology. Nano implies 10^( 9) which is very small .
After nano scale development, the scientists of the semiconductor had faced many
challenges. The greater challenge was how to combine the Intellectual properties(IP)
from various sources quickly and efficiently. These have been overcome by
introducing system on chip technology which is very grooming topic in modern
technology. System on chip mostly called as SOC is a best solution of combining a
number on functionality into a single chip. System on chip is called as bus
architecture based technology. System on chip is

Zoot Suit Riots
Last year I was able to get a small glimpse on the Zoot Suit Riots that had taken
place in the 1930s. On August 4, 1942 the United States concluded a temporary
agreement for the use of Mexican agricultural labor on United State farms. World
War II took a huge impact on the beginning of this program and the beginning of the
conflicts that ran through Harlem. These so called riots soon began to change the
views on the Mexicans that were dressed in such a way the Americans began to have
conflict with these Pachuco Zoot Suiters. In June 1943 Zoot Suit Riots in Los
Angeles, California were a series of attacks against Mexican American youth and
other minorities by white American servicemen. After these Zoot Suit riots broke out
and began to startle the mexican ethnicities. Families were damaged, lives were
killed. Discouraging this is a topic that was completely reversed and not taken as
seriously as is should have been. Imposing the lower and colored minorities for the
economic problems this country has gone through.
During these times dance halls were extremely popular for interacting, dancing and
forgetting about the stress of what was going on around the economic world such as
the Great Depression. L.A was full of mexicans. The style of the young people began
to evolve and mexicans were influenced through the hip, slang and Chicano ways.
These zoot suits outfits were very popular in African American
The Globalization Of Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is globalizing their company in order to reach a bigger market,
and become competition for other companies. Southwest Airlines has already
conquered the domestic market beating American Airlines, United, and Delta
according to Fortune. Access to a new market is what motivated Southwest to
globalize, they are expanding to the south of North America, with their new assets
found in their acquired airlineAirTran Airways(LeBeau, 4) . Southwest Airlineshas
brought low rates and a great experience to the domestic market, which was warmly
received, they now plan to dip into global market to bring better service to all.
Southwest Airlines has recently acquired AirTran Airways, which was a global
company, this acquisition it put Southwest in a great spot to expand to the global
market. Southwest is integrating the AirTran Airways international stops in Aruba,
Jamaica, the Bahamas with their original domestic stops in Atlanta, Baltimore, and
Orlando starting July 1st 2014 according to an article in US Today. Next they are
looking to service 6 Latin American destinations including Belize City, Cancun,
Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, and San Jose del Cabo/ Los Cabos starting in
October 2015 (Zacks Equity Research, 1 2). These Latin American destinations are
strategic because they are close to Southwest s headquarters in Dallas TX, and they
are prime vacation spots (Jones, 3). This will give more people a cheaper way to
vacation, and bring more people into these
Type O Blood
Each person has a certain blood type. That blood type was established before the

reason that blood needs to be utilized in an efficient manner that lives are being
saved quicker and easier (bb).
With just one pint of blood it can save several lives. That s a large number of people
that could be saved since every two seconds there will be a person out in the world

The blood type would be located under where the name is on the card. In Michigan,

In order to, present accurate results back and not create a mistake by putting the
wrong blood type on the driver license and accidently result in killing someone. In
addition, to being certain that the precise blood type is on the license, the blood test

Last Days Of Summer
Character traits in books are a very essential element and without them, books
would not be books. They provide people with an example that they may follow in
order to live a good life. Some books serve as life lessons to show people how some
characteristics can bring downfall to some people if they do not follow the rules.
Throughout Last Days of Summer, by Steve Kluger, the characters possess many
characteristics that can help us in our everyday life, most importantly, patience.
Charlie learns how to develop patience throughout the book. In the beginning, he
despises Joey for the nonstop letters he keeps sending him. As time goes on the two
develop a very good and strong relationship all because Charlie showed patience to

Driving Tests Should Be Free
Driving tests should be free and available to most people. Most being the right age
range, seventeen and up. There are many reasons to why these tests should be free.
The cost can be too much, opinions on the cost, and the time put into the classes
can get to be too much for some people. Some people just don t have the money for
the cost of the car plus the test combined. Many people have low paying jobs, and it
s hard to even make a living with the pay. A lot of people don t believe that you
shouldn t pay so much for a simple class. Classes can go up to as much as $700.
Drivers Training is so expensive it s hard to pay for and parents don t have the
money. By making the tests free more people will be open to the lessons. Many people
Overcoming Obstacles To Running The Boston Marathon
First, I want to congratulate all of you for making it here today. We have all had a
long four years filled with longs days and hard work, but here we are! In order to
get here though, we all had obstacles to overcome. However, I have found that the
biggest obstacle to cross is the way we, as people, are perceived. This obstacle is
unique because it is one that not only other people force upon us, but we force
upon ourselves as well. We have had to overcome not only the way other students
perceive us, but also how our teachers do too. The way we perceive ourselves and
other people perceive us can put many roadblocks into our futures, that can be rather
difficult to get over. All of us are more than meets the eye, however, we need to make
other people understand the pieces of us that aren t always the most apparent.... Show

Legal Constraints And Its Effect On The War On Terror
The war on terror, following the events of 9/11, made people acknowledge a new
form of enemy. Terrorisms became the central focus of nations and various actions
were taken to ensure that such a horrendous act never transpires again. However, the
problems associated with these legal constraints has led to many international law
violations. This paper will seek to discuss these legal constraints and its effect on the
war on terror. In order to demonstrate this, the principles of distinction,
proportionality and military necessity will be examined to understand whether the
legal actions of the United States were appropriate and legal. The principles of
distinction, proportionality and military necessity are central to jus in bello (also
known as the laws of war). These three principles are closely interconnected with one
another and are necessary to determine whether a war can be perceived as being
legitimate.
In this paper, the principles of distinction, proportionality and military necessity will
be defined and discussed in relation to the event of 9/11. As well as, the legal
constraints that are associated with the conduct of hostilities under the new
conditions imposed. The term terrorism and terrorist were included following the
events of 9/11, identifying a new type of enemy. Narratives of who the enemy was
changed towards individuals who were or seemed like a Muslim. Muslims were
perceived as the new enemy. This subsequently led to major legal constraints such as

The Mountains Of The Rocky Mountains
The Rocky Mountains, also known as the Rockies, extends for some 3,000 miles
(4,800 km), that covers land in two North American countries! With a distance of
3,000 miles, the Rockies must have a variety of physical features and landscapes that
makes it an attractive area to tour and explore. However, all of the human interest in
this mountain range could come at a devastating cost. Disturbances such as resource
extraction, tourism/settlement, and farming in the Rocky Mountain region must
cease because they are causing major, irreversible environmental degradation.
The Rocky Mountains contain many resources, like oil, logs, and coal, that people
utilize in their daily lives. With such a high demand for these resources, people are
going to the Rocky Mountains to extract these valuable goods. Resource
extraction, such as logging, oil exploration, and mining, however, is extremely
harmful to the Rockies ecosystem. The Rocky Mountains are experiencing slope
erosion where the top layer of soil falls off usually into areas of water and
according to Armand Eardley, from Encyclopedia Britannica, Logging and oil
exploration have been responsible for accelerated slope erosion, both from
operations themselves and from the access roads built to reach them. Erosion has
stripped away the often thin soil cover and caused serious silting of streams. Erosion
is harmful because it leads to this serious silting of streams. According to the
National Geographic, Silt is a solid, dust like
Who Is Lost In La Mancha
Lost in La Mancha is a 2002 documentary about Terry Gilliam s unfinished film The
Man Who Killed Don Quixote which broke down as the result of a variety of issues
seen in the various stages of production. Issues include a lack of money to produce
the film, illness, weather problems, issues with poorly trained horses, poor
organisation for the location of the filmand the absence of an adequate amount of

begun one of Terry Gilliams financers pulled out of the project, so his initial 40

He s tried many times before to create the film, he has a very unique vision and
eccentric imagination. This is why he was forced to film in Europe; America didn
t want to spend so much money on a film as out there as it was too much of a risk.
The main mistake Terry Gilliam made was continuing to film after one of his
financers pulled out, taking 8 million dollars out of the previous 40 million dollar
budget they had. He should have tried to find another financer and just delay the
production of the film. But even with such a financial setback he failed to dial
down any of his scenes, he explained that he wanted every shot to be difficult , this
isn t too bad and such a mindset may result in some amazing shots but it s not a
mindset that should still be in play when you lose 8 million dollars of a budget to

organise everything and make sure everything was matching the plan. He was also
involved in making sure the project is meeting the set due dates, in the documentary
he is also seen trying to hold everything together when things go

consumers go crazy extremely in that time. Thus, people are gradually paying
attention to the cultureof consumerism, a phenomenon of over consumption, that is
represented by Black Fridayand Cyber Mondaywith the prevalence of the two
holidays.
Faced with this situation, people have provoked a heated debate: is it possible to

But at the same time, it will cause the accidents such as shooting violence,

Black Friday.MehrozBaig implied that it has targeted our perspective and reinforced
a sense of material wealth (Baig 2014).Consumers just think they get good deals
subconsciously when they are crazy to buy the discounted items, but in fact,it will be
a matter of wasting something.Besides, Black Friday has jacked up the rate of
unemployment. Barry Gutierrezstated many companies fire their workers or cut their
pay in order to minimize the losses caused by lower prices on consumer goods

Facing with the bad influences of Black Friday, people increasingly boycott the
shopping days. Roger A. Dickinson and Mary L.Carsky said: Boycotts hurt particular
firms or areas by creating an emotional response from the larger culture that is
translated into economic action by consumers (Dickinson Carsky 2005). To some

Academic Process Of Sociological Research
As observed by the Journal of American College Health and Rivero, E.M. et al
(2014), 90% of all individuals who die by suicide ... have a diagnosable psychiatric
condition ... [and] although approximately 1,100 college students die by suicide each
year, fewer than 20% of students ... were receiving mental health treatment. The
journal goes on to state that those who were receiving professional treatment were
less likely to attempt suicide, along with the students who had a strong support
group of family and friends. By implementing a program designed to intervene and
provide aid before a suicide attempt can be made, the hopes of a positive outcome
and may increase the amount of students who succeed and graduate from college.
It will be my duty to further examine the 2014 research done by Rivero, E.M. and
associates in order to dissect the academic process of sociological research. In doing
so, it will inadvertently be discovered how to recognize bias and know the importance
of ethical guidelines when doing sociological research. At the conclusion of this
report, the scientific method, its importance, and why using multiple reliable sources
is important for any credible report will also be understood. Furthermore, this report
will explain the different kinds of research methodology.
For this study, the sociologists made suicide the center of their research. But suicide,
being too broad of a topic was narrowed down to the impact of early intervention on
the rates of suicide
New Wave Cinema
In David Cook s, A History of Narrative Film, it is said that the prevailing mode of
postwar French cinema was literary adaption, which caused French films to become
increasingly verbal and theatrical. It was against this tendency identified as the
tradition of quality by Francois Truffaut and the other critics writing in Cashiers du
Cinema, that the New Wave reacted in the late 1950 s and 1960 s.
Camera stylo, which would permit the cinema to become a means of expression as
supple and sbutle as that of written language and would therefore accord filmmakers
the status of authors. Astruc s notion was to break away from the tyranny of
narrative in order to evolve a new form of audiovisual language (Cook, 350). Astruc
went on to describe how the problem of the cinema is how to express thought. The
creation of this language has preoccupied all the theoreticians and writers in the
history of cinema, from Einstein down to the script writers and adaptors of the sound
cinema (Cook, 350). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is described as a lyrical but wholly unsentimental account of an adolescent

The French New Wave was all about freedom and how it should seem personal. The
400 Blows does just that by telling us a story about a boy coming of age. As part of
the New Wave, for The 400 Blows, the movie was not only shot on location, but
natural lighting was used to give the movie a realistic film. In addition to this, many
producers/directors during this time used mobile cameras (handheld). These were
many characteristics that these artists used in their films. It was real and it was raw

Pros And Negatives Of Social Media
There is an average of 2.3 billion active social media users. Each internet user has
an average of 5.54 social media accounts. Social Networking has made a huge
impact on our world. We can talk to someone across the world with the press of a
few buttons. 92% of teens go online daily. Although social networking has many pros
such as the fact that we can communicate with people around the world, it also can
have a negative impact on youth and young adults. Youth and young adults struggling
to fit in are big targets for cyber bullying on social networking sites. There are many
cyber bullies on social networking sites right now trolling many innocent people and
leaving them with mental scars while staying anonymous. Cyber bullies threaten,
harass, and torment young adults and youth by sending anonymous texts, emails, and
comments. They can even pose as someone you personally know. Cyber bullying can
leave people with stress anxiety and depression. Some victims of cyberbullying even
committed suicide. Social networking sites can rob you of your privacy. Posting
things online can lead to identity theft, stalkers, and robbery. If you post your
location, people all around the world can get your address. If you are on vacation
and post something about it, many people will find out that your house is empty.
Social networking can also prevent you from getting a job. Many jobs run
background checks and check the internet for anything you have left behind. If
you post an embarrassing picture of you at some party, and the company that ran
the background check on you finds that post, you will have lost a potential job just
because you posted one thing that you thought was funny or cool. Social
networking can also lead to things like decreased productivity. Many people
constantly check their friends post or their status rather than working. It s a
distraction that can lead to you not focusing on important things at school or work.
It is very often that you see a person look down at their phone because they got a
notification or message on a social networking site. This can lead to distracted
driving which can be very dangerous or lack of attention in class or at work.
Not only does it make you distracted but it can

Early Gothic Sculptures
Sculpture:
1 Gothic figure: was firmly attached to structural engineering, since it
was utilized fundamentally to embellish the outsides of basilicas and different
religious structures. The most punctual Gothic models were stone figures of holy
people and the Holy Family used to enhance the entryways, or gateways, of houses of
God in France and somewhere else. The models on the Royal Portal of Chartres
Cathedral (c. 1145 55) were minimal transformed from their Romanesque forerunners
in their hardened, straight, straightforward, stretched, and hieratic structures.
However, amid the later twelfth and the mid thirteenth hundreds of years models
turned out to be more casual and naturalistic in treatment, a pattern that finished in the

2 Monumental sculptures: accepted an inexorably
conspicuous part amid the High and late Gothic periods and were set in huge
numbers on the exteriors of basilicas, frequently in their own specialties. In the
fourteenth century, Gothic figure turned out to be more refined and exquisite and
gained a mannered daintiness in its involved and finicky drapery. The exquisite and
to some degree manufactured attractiveness of this style was generally scattered all
through Europe in model, painting, and original copy enlightenment amid the
fourteenth century and got to be known as the International Gothic style. An inverse
pattern as of now was that of a strengthened authenticity, as showed in French tomb

groups took the place of rulers and were known as stateless societies. Africa grew
from these nomadic societies to a major trade center known as the trans Saharan

Allison James Childhood Analysis
According to Allison James, Children are often discouraged in the United States,
from making minimal decisions on their own or showing evidence of autonomy at
young ages. She asserts that childhood can denote more than one ideology, depending
on where you are. In addition, James also touches on insight offered by historian ,
Phillipe Aries who interjects that there was no concept of childhoodduring the mid
evil era. Thus alluding to the cultural and social influences that factor into the
structure of how a particular society defines what it means to be a child. James Poses
the idea of childhood takes on the identity of systemic cultural practices as they
pertain to children s needs and maturity levels. (James 28). Thus there are many

Advantages Of American Imperialism
5. Groups including the Europeans thought it would be best for the United States to
colonize because they would be inputting their fair share . Britain and America
started to fight for independent. America ended up winning. Most of the Americans
don t like the idea of them colonizing like the other nations. Especially two groups of
Americans were outspoken in their support of imperialism. Imperialism is when you
extend your countries government and military, making it bigger and more powerful.
One group thought that the USA should fulfill their spot in this world. The
Europeans highly believed that they should colonize for these reasons. The other
group was made up of business interest and opened up new markets and trade
possibilities. In 1898 a war broke out, it was called the Spanish American War. In this
war America acquired the Philippine Islands, Puerto Rico, and Guam. When the
United Statesgained Philippine it touched off the topic of imperialism. President
McKinley was able to persuade a group of Methodists about his intentions about
educating Filipinos. The Filipinos on the other hand were not happy about
transferring one trade colonizer, that being the Spanish, for another that being the
Americans. Since the Philippine s accused the USA of saying that they would be
given independence directly after the Spanish American War, the USA had to plunge
a fierce struggle. In 1902 the USA defeated the Philippines and started to active

Vampire Existence
Vampire existence
Almost each nation has legends about vampires that rummage people at night and
drink their blood. In these legends, vampires are brutal, heartless, half decayed
creatures. For example, Slavic mythology has a belief that a vampire won t get out
of grave if you throw some corn inside. The vampire will count corns all night long.
But the image of a vampire has changed. Today it is an mysterious sexy superstar
that kept its peculiar traits: love of blood, hate for garlic, and fear for the sun. In
the Middle Ages the legend about vampires was complemented with the information
that they fear cross and Holy Water. I feel the same way; it makes people feel like

Don t try to take this stuff so literally, and do not judge these individuals too
unforgivingly. I m sure that there are several things that you believe to be true in the
world, or even about yourself, that these individuals would see as abnormal or
strange. Believe it or not, there are individuals who walk among us, who appear to be
normal human beings and are actually are not. If medical science can identify genes
within the human race as mutations, and therefore, the people who have them as
mutations, or mutants, then why can t a subculture of otherwise healthy people call
themselves vampires.
According to an Indian lady Issabella, she said that practically every culture in the
world has some sort of ancient story about a blood sucking creature that relates to
the vampire. India is no exception. In fact, Indian mythology has several creatures
that could easily be considered vampiric in relation to the modern view of the
vampire. Some match our modern description better than others, but all play a role in
vampire mythology. A malevolent female spirit called the Chedipe rode naked into
homes on the backs of tigers and drank men s blood through their toes while they
slept. This is indeed vampiric behavior, but the resulting effects have the man drained
of energy rather than killed or transformed. This behavior is much more closely
associated with the Western Succubus, than with the
Social Stability In Brave New World Essay

Social stability is the role to maintain social justice and promote social progress and
stability by identifying and addressing social issues, such as child abuse or
communism. Providing customized services to meet individual needs of target
groups. The cost of maintaining social stability is not worth the price because it
requires citizens have happiness. In order to achieve ultimate happiness, citizens need
to know the struggle and acknowledge their feelings while facing them head on

The Power Of Choice In Brian Doyle s Joyas Voladoras
From hummingbirds nimbly flying over flowers to humming women quietly walking
through the park, Brian Doyle s essay, Joyas Voladoras, brings light to the power of
choice in relation to human experience and emotion. Doyle displays this power of
choice through vivid descriptions of two animals: a hummingbird and a blue whale,
two seemingly different organisms. However, instead of focusing on the obvious
disparities of the animals, Doyle concentrates on what makes them similar, the heart.
Both the hummingbird and blue whale have hearts, but they use their hearts in
drastically different ways, one heart being the smallest and another being the largest
in the world. Contrary to the beliefs of science and evolution, Doyle believes that
humans are not so different from these two creatures, because, no living being is
without interior liquid motion. We all churn inside (3). Suddenly, the essay
transforms from a National Geographic journal to a heartfelt message that connects
all of the humanrace. Doyle dives into how the heart experiences so many emotions
and ideas throughout a human life. Knowing that the heart is a delicate jewel, Doyle
demonstrates that, all hearts finally are bruised and scarred, scored and torn,
repaired by time and will, patched by force of character, yet fragile and rickety
forevermore (3). Doyle understands that many individuals try to defend their hearts
and protect them from any harm, but those hearts will eventually be hurt and injured

Research Paper On Low Self Esteem
Low self esteem. What it can do to our minds and how can we improve it? Self
esteem is when people don t like certain aspects of themselves. Peoples self esteem
is something that isn t brought up a lot. However it should be. People don t really
understand what low self esteem can do to our minds even our health. Self esteemis
our confidence and satisfaction in our own skin. Low self esteem can cause
someone to not like certain aspects our their body. It can cause them not to like
themselves at all wishing they were someone else, that they were skinner, taller
and prettier. We all have something we would like to change, but this is far more
serious. It s to the point they feel as if they won t be happy or people won t think
they re pretty/handsome enough or good enough. With low self esteem it can
cause a person to have a large amount of rancor towards themselves. Low self
esteem has been shown to be correlated with a number of negative outcomes, such
as depression ( McLeod 1 ).Without self esteem or self confidence we will not feel
comfortable in the body and flesh we were born with. Low self esteem goes
unnoticed way too often. My goal throughout this paper is to help people with low
self esteem know that they re not alone, they aren t the only ones who may not feel
pretty in their skin or comfortable. However, low self esteem doesn t just come out
of nowhere it is the way we were talked to and what we saw in our surrounding and

The New Paradigm Gene Therapy
Gene therapy, the experimental strategy that requires the use of genes to prevent and
cure diseases is a fairly new technique, yet it is one which has shown steady
advancements. The journal article Gene therapy clinical trials worldwide to 2012 An
update sets out to present analysis and summaries of clinical trials that have been
performed worldwide. Authors Samantha L. Ginn, Ian E. Alexander, Michael
Edelstein, Mohammad R. Abedi and Joanne Wixon dive into some of the 1843 gene

searching for indications of mishaps in trials, speaking on diseases which have been

the article.
The new paradigm gene therapy, is one that houses extraordinary potential dating

However 30 months out of treatment one patient developed T cell leukemia as a
direct result of the gene therapy, raising red flags early on. A further three patients
also developed T cell leukemia and as a result it was decided

half, purchasing products that use less packaging, installing solar panels, switching
to energy efficient appliances, and using public transit more often. While these are
all good suggestions, in my opinion they are mostly unrealistic. The most realistic
change I would make out of all the suggestions is actually cutting down on meat
consumption. Once I graduate I do plan on becoming a vegetarian. I already eat a
relatively small amount of animal products so it is unlikely that I will be cutting it

the change will happen before May. Cutting some meat from my diet would also only
decrease my footprint by .1, which seems insignificant. The overall health benefits of
a vegetarian diet and the impact that the meat industry has on the environment are
actually the real reasons behind my plan to cut meat out of my diet

HELEN KELLER S MIDDLE LIFE
The summer of 1887 was more fun for Helen than all of her previous years. Every
object she touched and named seemed to bring her closer to the rest of the world,
which pleased her and made her more confident. One thing Annie worked on with
Helen was to find the beauty in everything. She taught her the different kinds of
flowers, and trees, by their smell and the way they felt. Annie and Helen had most of
their lessons in the outdoors that summer. The two liked to climb trees, and read
books because they thought it was relaxing and something different. Helen later said,

In 1888, Annie decided to take Helen to the Perkins Institute, to show Michael
Anagnos how much Helen had learned. On their way down to the Institute, Annie read
Hans Christian Andersen s Tales and other poems to Helen. Helen loved the poems.
She especially liked Oliver Wendell Holmes and John Greenleaf Whittier.
When the two girls arrived at the Institute, Helen immediately fit in. All the children
there were either blind or deaf, so Helen understood the way their life was. Most of
the children there spoke using the manual alphabet which had been invented by
Trappist monks many years before. The monks came up with the manual alphabet
because they had taken a vow of silence so they had to have some way of
communicating.
Laura Bridgman, who was now about sixty years old, still lived in the Institute.
Annie had known Laura from her previous years at the Institute, so wanted to
introduce her to Helen. Helen became excited knowing that she was soon to meet
Laura, but that excitement left her shortly after she did. Laura immediately
recognized Annie s fingers on her lips, and was thrilled to have Annie back. But
since Laura s development had stopped after childhood, she had never been able to
really understand the world. She was normally an unhappy lady, and it made her even

Just 36 foreign films are allowed in the country each year and the summer months are
typically a blackout period to give a boost to domestically produced films, though
that rule has eased this year. Part of the strategy to be let in includes getting
investments from Chinese firms.
Cinema operator Dalian Wanda Group made headlines in February when it
announced it is in talks to get a 49 percent stake in Paramount Pictures. The
conglomerate bought AMC Entertainment Holdings in 2012 for $2.6 billion and
earlier this year bought Legendary Entertainment the company that produced The
Dark Knight for about $3.5 billion.
This also isn t the first Chinese investment STX has garnered. The studio launched
two years ago with capital from Chinese private equity firm Hony Capital, which
also provided additional funding in conjunction with Tencent and PCCW. STX
focuses on mid range films ($20 to $60 billion) and inked a three year deal last year
with Chinese firm Huayi Brothers to produce 12 to 15 movies each

A Report On Schindlers List
Thomas Keneally s Schindler s List is the historical account of Oskar Schindler
and his heroic actions in the midst of the horrors of World War II Poland. Schindler
s List recounts the life of Oskar Schindler, and how he comes to Poland in search of
material wealth but leaves having saved the lives of over 1100 Jews who would
most certainly have perished. The novel focuses on how Schindler comes to the
realization that concentration and forced labor camps are wrong, and that many
people were dying through no fault of their own. This realization did not occur
overnight, but gradually came to be as the business man in Oskar Schindler turned

This turns out to be timely for Schindler as now he is able to get very cheap labor.
The next few years would go well for Schindler and his factory for they turned a
great profit. In fact he made so much money that he is quoted as saying, I ve made
more money than I could possibly spend in a lifetime. ; His workers were also very
happy. This is because Schindler s Jews ; were treated as humans as opposed to
being treated as animals. For them, working in Schindler s factory was an escape
from the ghetto and from much German cruelty. They loved Schindler so much
that his factory became known as a haven throughout the Jewish community.
However, things began to go sour for Schindler, when the Germans ordered the
liquidation of the ghettoes. Soon all of the Jews in the Cracow ghetto were
relocated to the Plaszow labor camp. By this time Schindler had grown so
affectionate toward his Jewish workers that he refused to hire Poles, and instead
sought of a way to keep using the Jews that he had grown so accustomed to. As the
Cracow Jews were relocated to the Plaszow labor camp, Oskar Schindler came into
direct dealings with the camp s director, Amon Goeth. He did not like Amon, but
he tried to get in on his best side in order to keep using his Jews in his factory.
Amon agreed to let Schindler use them, and thus saving his Jews from some of the

Dress Code Discrimination
In today s society there seems to be a lot of discrimination against the female race.
Most studies claim, males get paid more, males get offered more jobs, and so on.
The fight for equality has been going on for years, but one thing that seems to
affect most females is dress code. Why are females such a distraction to men? Why
is it only females that get shamed for wearing certain things? How come schools
and workplaces only enforce strict dress codes on females, while males can get away
with wearing almost anything? If this really was a dress codethen males would get
the same punishments as females do, but they don t. So how come in the year 2017
even small things like articles of clothing be such a one sided issue.
One of the biggest places that dress codes are enforced are public schools. In the
United States ninety eight percent of schools have some sort of dress code,
ranging from really strict to moderate. These dress codes include not being able to
show shoulders or knees. Not being able to wear tank tops or skirts. Although boys
can wear shorts and cut off shirts but if girls were to wear that they would get in
trouble. Parents of those girl feel as if this is unfair treatment, and it is. Why should
girls be the only ones to get in trouble for simple things? A lot of people do not
think it is fair, and those people are correct (Niche, 2016). What someone wears
should not be judged. People should have the freedom to be able to wear what they
want. The one
My Love Story
I loved Bob with all my heart, or as much as you could love someone in 1252 in
England as a female. I have told you about Bob before, haven t I? He knew
everything about me from my favorite color to my deepest secrets. We did
everything together, too; we went to the pond together, we went to the market
together, we even ate together. We always exchanged I love you whenever we saw
each other, and everyone thought we would eventually get married. He cared
about me, and I cared about him. We were the perfect love story. Of course, all
perfect stories must come to an end. It was a warm autumn day. The sun was
shining, the leaves on the trees were brilliant reds, oranges, and golds, and
everyone was out taking care of business on our measly dirt road. Bob and I had
spent the day cleaning his home and taking care of his younger sisters, so we were
both burning up. As we left his house, I had a brilliant idea. Bob darling, let us go
to the pond. We can cool off there! The pond was a beautiful, tranquil place. The
only sounds that could be heard were the breeze rustling the weeping willows
beside the pond and the birds chirping in the willows. The pale, calm blue of the
pond had helped me fall asleep a number of times. It was a wonderful place to cool
off and swim, too. Bob however, instead of getting excited as he had on multiple
occasions at any mention of the pond jumped away from me, guilt written on his
face. I can t, I...I... Bob? Are you alright? I asked, concerned. Of course. I just can t
come to the pond today, he responded, his composure regained. I...uh...I have other
plans. I m sorry. Oh. Alright then. It s okay. He smiled at me, and I smiled back,
although it was a little forced. Then, he turned around and disappeared into the
bustle of the market. As I watched him walk away, my smile faded. What was
wrong with him? Or is it me? He always hung out with me, even if he had previous
arrangements. This continued for days; I would want to do something together, but
Bob would have other engagements. Soon, we were doing nothing. I quickly grew
suspicious. What could he possibly be doing? Eventually, I decided to follow him to
his other engagements . It was a
Women s Rights Argument
Her work would emphasize the commonalities of the sexes, not their differences.
She also deemphasized the differences between races and sex. She referred to the
Constitution s wording when speaking of or defending women s rights by using
phrases such as the people, citizens, and persons. She also took a different
approach when addressing her audiences. Unlike most female reformers of the
time, she used a more masculine style of delivery. She delivered her own speeches
directly, addressed both sexes of audiences while in public, and used debates,
lectures, and oratory to make her arguments. This was uncommon since most women
of the time relied on male family and friends for their support. However, she did not
rely solely upon logic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She moved from Boston to Seneca Falls in the year 1847, and this is where she
would give her first public lecture. It was a temperance inspired speech with a
mixture of women s rights woven in. The Married Womans Property Act passed in
New York at the beginning of the next year, and it was one that Stanton had pushed
for and endorsed, and she soon found herself in a position to lead a public movement.
While attending a tea party with new friends, and sympathizing women, they
spontaneously agreed upon holding a Women s Rights Convention to discuss the
social, civil, and religious conditions and rights of women. This convention was
rooted in economic and social instability, along with revolutions in industrialization,
transportation, and technology. None of the women had ever organized a
convention before, and they gave themselves only eight days to prepare for it.
Stanton wrote up a speech and a resolution, and on July 19, she proposed her
Declaration of Sentiments. The women debated on it all day, and then invited the
public, including men, to join them the next. Stanton delivered it publicly, expressing
civil and political rights of women in work, education and the church. The
declaration was adopted and signed, and the resolutions were endorsed. In one of her
speeches to the women of Seneca Falls, she
The Emotional Effects Of Emotional Motivational Theory
The Emotional Motivational Theory contributes to the ongoing criminological debate
while answering what exactly causes humans to commit crime. It also highlights how
crime should be handled and prevented by studying the basic human mind and its
functions. I created the Emotional Motivational Theory because it relates to every
individual on earth in aspects of human interactions. The theory is based off of the
seven emotions we as humans exhibit. The seven emotions consist of: anger,
contempt, fear, disgust, happiness, sadness, and surprise. It is human nature to
experience these emotions and this directly correlates with our ways of thinking,
feeling, and actions on a day to day basis. The Emotional Motivational Theory ties the
seven emotions presented in humans to the major causes of crimes. For the past
centuries, criminologists have extensively studied why people commit crimes, but
The Emotional Motivational Theory gives a new perspective behind the motivation
created by not harnessing emotional instability properly. This is a historical
breakthrough relating to the contemporary social conditions in the United States.
The Emotional Motivational Theory depicts a wide range of crimes from minor
drug use to the worst serial killers of all time, and everything in between. Trying to
prevent criminals to stop committing crimes is like telling a new born baby to talk
and walk, it takes time and effort, but my theory has a long list of programs that can
help prevent crime. We
Have Uk Prime Ministers Become More Presidential in
Recent...
GOVERNMENT amp; POLITICS ESSAY HOMEWORK Have UK Prime
Ministers become more Presidential in recent years? In recent times many
commentators have pointed out that the UK s Prime Ministers are increasingly
acting like Presidents of course the UK Prime Minister cannot actually become a
President as the system would not allow it. Below I shall be analysing and
explaining the factors that highlight the growth of presidentialism in the UK, as well
as the points which suggest that the UK s Prime Minister is still a Prime Minister. In
recent years there has been an increase in the growth of spatial leadership. The
tendency of Prime Ministers to distance themselves from their party and government
has increased, developing a personal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These sorts of powers would generally be associated with a President, not a Prime
Minister. In the USA, the President and the houses are elected separately, however
in the UK, the Prime Minister is elected, primarily, as an MP it is the leader of the
winning party who gets the role of Prime Minister. However, in recent years,
election campaigns have become really personalised focussing more on the party
leader s personality, strengths and weaknesses rather than the party s policies,
promises and ideas as a whole. The lead up to the next general election
demonstrates this: the party leaders of the three major parties have become the face
of their party s election campaign. The media concentrates more on the party leader
rather than the party as a whole just like in USA. For the first time in British history,
there is going to be live debates between the three leaders again just like the run up to
the American general elections. These points highlight that the UK is beginning to
adopt some American, presidential traditions, it can be said that this is a strong sign
that presidentialism is growing in the UK. Although the UK Prime Minister is elected
separately through Parliamentary elections, unlike the USA President, there is a
trend for Prime Ministers to claim popular authority on the basis of electoral victory.
Prime Ministers have therefore become the ideological consciences of their
Protozoa Disorders
Intestinal parasites can cue many problems to the body and are ever single celled

consumption of processed carbohydrates which is the perfect condition s for Candia

Analysis of the Graduate Essay
The Graduate is a great example of a film where lens and camera choices were
used effectively to convey the director s point of view. It seemed like every choice
made by the director Mike Nichols director and the director of cinematography Bob
Surtees was justified. The outcome of each shot played an important role in shaping
the message of the film. The cinematography of Bob Surtees is very complicated and
thoughtful but at the same time seems poetic and spontaneous.
All of Mrs. Robinson and Benjamin s scenes pass in a musically backed montage
sequence, a segment that uses rapid editing, special effects and music to present
compressed narrative information. This shows the endless pass of time. One scene is
edited so that it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The image seems very flat. The viewer cannot focus on anything but the characters
faces. The depth of field and depth of focus are very small. One of the reasons why
this scene was shot like that was because of the rain. Mike Nichols wanted this scene
to take place on a very rainy day. Of course no one would ever think about waiting
for real rain in Beverly Hills during the summer so they had to create it by
themselves. The crew set up a rainmaker over the car in which the actors were
riding. They shot from alongside and from in front using a 500 millimeter telephoto
lens which threw the background so far out of focus that it was impossible to tell
whether it was pouring in the distance or not. This was a great example of a
practical use of lenses. The Graduate, however, was rich in many experimental uses
of the camera that were mainly chosen to more directly describe the characters state
of minds.
Thinking that confessing the truth to Elaine will solve everything, Benjamin makes a
major miscalculation. He rushes towards the house with Mrs. Robinson pursuing
close behind. Here again, the scene of Ben running towards the house was shot with a
telephoto lens. This lens was chosen to create an illusion that rain is present
everywhere, not only over Ben s head. The use of the telephoto lens and the
movement of the camera created another very interesting effect. The moment when
Ben is running was shot from a farther distance. One can notice that the camera

We are starting to have serious concerns about the parents ability to care of her and they are expecting #2 any day now. Anytime we try to reach them we get voice mail from both parents. Last week on Thursday we sent her home to get checked for Hand Foot and Mouth, she comes back Friday and mom said her ears are all clear with a Dr.s note. We didn t send her for her ears. By 10 AM Friday I had to call them again (voice mail again for both) because she has a fever of 101 WITHOUT the extra degree and had been sleeping at school since 9 am. All the while I m trying to reach mom (voicemail AGAIN!) dad (Voice mail AGAIN) and then on to their 3rd contact which they finally provided to me last Friday. Their 3rd person understood the urgency and said I will try to reach Katie but if I can t I will come and get her. Not 2 minutes had gone by when mom called in a panic and was on her way. How did the friend get through to her only 2 minutes after I had just left a voicemail? I have no doubt they both screen our calls. This has happened too many times and now that it involves Kyrie s health and well being, I am not happy and mom and dad know I am not happy. Another parent in the room has actually thought about calling DHS on them. They seem to have a lack of concern for her health and well being. Their life and schedule is obviously more
  • 5. Wireless Security Control System And Sensor Network For... Project Report Wireless Security Control System Sensor Network for Smoke Fire Detection By Abdulrahman Alsaadi EE 548 Abstract The project entails the design and engineering of a wireless smoke detector unit and network. The premise of the wireless network is to alert and set off all of the smoke detectors in the network if one smoke detector is set off. With our current progress we have enough equipment for two smoke detectors. The hardware modules include the PIC microcontroller (arduino), temperature sensor, and smoke sensor. In its complete implementation, it will consist of a structure with two separate rooms. This structure will act as a model of a home with two rooms. I. Introduction A smoke detector is a device that detects any changes in the air and issues an alarm to alert nearby people that there is a potential danger. Smoke alarms are self contained devices that incorporate a means of detecting a fire and give a warning. The size of a smoke detector is about the size of the palm. They can detect fires in their early stages to give people precious minutes to enable them to safety and others in the vicinity. The term wirelessis normally used to refer to any type of electrical or electronic operation without the use of hard wired connection. Wireless communication transfer information over a distance without the use of wires. This is possible by using electromagnetic waves or radio frequency (RF) to carry a signal over part or the entire

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Marco s action suggests he s protective of his little brother and is quite threatening from the aspect that he rises to defend him if necessary. This is significant to the audience because it foreshadows that Eddie s impulsive behavior will be the reason he loses Marco s respect as well as It will be the reason he won t have a friend in the world. Moreover, Miller strengthens the idea, that Marco s respectful relationship with Eddie is fading, when Marco asserts his authority, superiority and predominance over Eddie. This is highlighted when Marco is face to face with Eddie. which is significant because it suggests that Marco is confrontational which is a distinction from how he was presented at the beginning of the play as quiet voiced which suggests that his appreciation for Eddie taking them in doesn t matter if he will hurt his brother. This creates a sense of anxiety in the audience as Marco proceeds to raise the chair like a weapon over Eddie s head. which infers that Marco is threatening Eddie because he has been patient with his absurd behavior the entire time, asking his brother to listen to his unreasonable demands he will bring her home early. The use of the simile like a weapon to warn Eddie is to suggest that Marco is overpowering and is stronger, than he is since Eddie couldn t lift the chair himself, which causes his grin to vanish which infers fear and worry as he is facing a the consequence of his action; punching

Some typical problems they face are limited access to capital, lower equity investments, and less exposure to entrepreneurship. Minority entrepreneurs are twice as likely to be turned down for traditional lending, which can discourage them from even applying for a loan. Not only that but they are less likely to be considered by traditional or angel investors. They also generally live in run down areas, with poor schooling and less access to successful people. One entrepreneur who has hurdled over all the barriers and became extremely successful is Russell Simmons, the co founder of Def Jam Records. Biography of Russell Simmons Russell Simmons was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There hasn t been a label whose fortunes have been so intertwined with hip hops fortune. However, they were not the first label to put out rap and not as many revolutionary artists as one might think. So why do they have an almost mythical status? Def Jam got its status because Simmons recognized the worth of hip hop music, and saw how it could expand into a cultural revolution. Def Jam s started in Rick Ruban s NYU dorm, with each Simmons and Rubin only investing a few thousand dollars each. Their first official release was LL Cool J s I need a Beat. It sold more than 100,000 copies giving Simmons the leverage he needed to cut a deal with CBS Records for distribution. This deal was the first of its kind for hip hop. Simmons secured Def Jams future by making clever decisions that seemed insane at the time, such as pairing Run D.M.C. with Aerosmith on the cover of Walk This Way. The video of this duo finally got hip hop onto MTV, which had a negative view on rap at the time. Rubin left Def Jam in 1988, making Simmons the sole head of the company. Simmons also tried his hand in producing movies; his company s name is Simmons Lathan Media. His first of which was called Krush Groove (1985). This was a fiction that was loosely based on Simmons life. It was originally supposed to be a plotless vehicle
  • 9. Analysis Of The Film Bears Discover Fire The film Bears Discover Fire written by Terry Bisson is a film that was produced by college students. This film covers many different controversial topics. The book allows for many different perceptions of these topics to be seen.. Although the title of the film has a scientific feeling, it is more of a fantasy than a science fiction film. In the film Bears Discover fire one may interpret the movie as more of a fantasy film, with that being said the elements of a fantasy story base line can be perceived in a much bigger picture. In the film Bears Discover Fire one may preserve the film as fansty. In the film, there are parts of the story line that truly cannot happen during this time on earth. For example, when the bears are standing upright. In this scene one may think to themselves that this is something that can/ will not happen. Today s bears are not capable of standing upright and walking. Another example of a fantasy can be seen when the bears are walking around with fire. This scene shows signs of a fantasy because, a normal bearwould not be capable of walking around with fire in their paws and setting up campfires. A final example of a fantasy in the film can be seen when, the grandma, Junior and Bobby are having a campfire with the bears in the woods. This is a scene that one might fantasize over. That is because it is not normal for humans to be close to a live bear and simple have a campfire with them. At this point a normal bear would have been frightened

On August 4, 1942 the United States concluded a temporary agreement for the use of Mexican agricultural labor on United State farms. World War II took a huge impact on the beginning of this program and the beginning of the conflicts that ran through Harlem. We have all had a long four years filled with longs days and hard work, but here we are! In order to get here though, we all had obstacles to overcome. However, I have found that the biggest obstacle to cross is the way we, as people, are perceived. This obstacle is unique because it is one that not only other people force upon us, but we force upon ourselves as well. We have had to overcome not only the way other students perceive us, but also how our teachers do too. The way we perceive ourselves and other people perceive us can put many roadblocks into our futures, that can be rather difficult to get over. She snuck onto the course after the starting gun, and she ran the entire thing, and not only that, she finished with the top third of the rest of the racers. She shattered other people s perceptions of her and even the female

Terrorisms became the central focus of nations and various actions were taken to ensure that such a horrendous act never transpires again. However, the problems associated with these legal constraints has led to many international law violations. This paper will seek to discuss these legal constraints and its effect on the war on terror. In order to demonstrate this, the principles of distinction, proportionality and military necessity will be examined to understand whether the legal actions of the United States were appropriate and legal. The principles of distinction, proportionality and military necessity are central to jus in bello (also known as the laws of war). These three principles are closely interconnected with one another and are necessary to determine whether a war can be perceived as being legitimate. In this paper, the principles of distinction, proportionality and military necessity will be defined and discussed in relation to the event of 9/11. As well as, the legal constraints that are associated with the conduct of hostilities under the new conditions imposed. The term terrorism and terrorist were included following the events of 9/11, identifying a new type of enemy. With a distance of 3,000 miles, the Rockies must have a variety of physical features and landscapes that makes it an attractive area to tour and explore. However, all of the human interest in this mountain range could come at a devastating cost. Disturbances such as resource extraction, tourism/settlement, and farming in the Rocky Mountain region must cease because they are causing major, irreversible environmental degradation. The Rocky Mountains contain many resources, like oil, logs, and coal, that people utilize in their daily lives. With such a high demand for these resources, people are going to the Rocky Mountains to extract these valuable goods. Resource extraction, such as logging, oil exploration, and mining, however, is extremely harmful to the Rockies ecosystem. The Rocky Mountains are experiencing slope erosion where the top layer of soil falls off usually into areas of water and according to Armand Eardley, from Encyclopedia Britannica, Logging and oil exploration have been responsible for accelerated slope erosion, both from operations themselves and from the access roads built to reach them. Erosion has stripped away the often thin soil cover and caused serious silting of streams. Erosion is harmful because it leads to this serious silting of streams. According to the National Geographic, Silt is a solid, dust like

Before any production took place, before even pre production begun one of Terry Gilliams financers pulled out of the project, so his initial 40 million dollar budget turned into 32. This is why he was forced to film in Europe; America didn t want to spend so much money on a film as out there as it was too much of a risk. The main mistake Terry Gilliam made was continuing to film after one of his financers pulled out, taking 8 million dollars out of the previous 40 million dollar budget they had. He should have tried to find another financer and just delay the production of the film. But even with such a financial setback he failed to dial down any of his scenes, he explained that he wanted every shot to be difficult , this isn t too bad and such a mindset may result in some amazing shots but it s not a mindset that should still be in play when you lose 8 million dollars of a budget to create a film. His First Assistant director Phil Patterson role was to mainly just organise everything and make sure everything was matching the plan. He was also involved in making sure the project is meeting the set due dates, in the documentary he is also seen trying to hold everything together when things go

Schindler s List recounts the life of Oskar Schindler, and how he comes to Poland in search of material wealth but leaves having saved the lives of over 1100 Jews who would most certainly have perished. The novel focuses on how Schindler comes to the realization that concentration and forced labor camps are wrong, and that many people were dying through no fault of their own. This realization did not occur overnight, but gradually came to be as the business man in Oskar Schindler turned into the savior of the Jews that had brought him so much wealth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This turns out to be timely for Schindler as now he is able to get very cheap labor. The next few years would go well for Schindler and his factory for they turned a great profit. In fact he made so much money that he is quoted as saying, I ve made more money than I could possibly spend in a lifetime. ; His workers were also very happy. This is because Schindler s Jews ; were treated as humans as opposed to being treated as animals. For them, working in Schindler s factory was an escape from the ghetto and from much German cruelty. They loved Schindler so much that his factory became known as a haven throughout the Jewish community. However, things began to go sour for Schindler, when the Germans ordered the liquidation of the ghettoes. Soon all of the Jews in the Cracow ghetto were relocated to the Plaszow labor camp. By this time Schindler had grown so affectionate toward his Jewish workers that he refused to hire Poles, and instead sought of a way to keep using the Jews that he had grown so accustomed to. As the Cracow Jews were relocated to the Plaszow labor camp, Oskar Schindler came into direct dealings with the camp s director, Amon Goeth. He did not like Amon, but he tried to get in on his best side in order to keep using his Jews in his factory. Amon agreed to let Schindler use them, and thus saving his Jews from some of the harshness of the Plaszow labor camp. As the war began to go
  • 43. Dress Code Discrimination In today s society there seems to be a lot of discrimination against the female race. Most studies claim, males get paid more, males get offered more jobs, and so on. The fight for equality has been going on for years, but one thing that seems to affect most females is dress code. Why are females such a distraction to men? Why is it only females that get shamed for wearing certain things? How come schools and workplaces only enforce strict dress codes on females, while males can get away with wearing almost anything? If this really was a dress codethen males would get the same punishments as females do, but they don t. So how come in the year 2017 even small things like articles of clothing be such a one sided issue. One of the biggest places that dress codes are enforced are public schools. In the United States ninety eight percent of schools have some sort of dress code, ranging from really strict to moderate. These dress codes include not being able to show shoulders or knees. Not being able to wear tank tops or skirts. Although boys can wear shorts and cut off shirts but if girls were to wear that they would get in trouble. Parents of those girl feel as if this is unfair treatment, and it is. Why should girls be the only ones to get in trouble for simple things? A lot of people do not think it is fair, and those people are correct (Niche, 2016). What someone wears should not be judged. People should have the freedom to be able to wear what they want. The one
  • 44. My Love Story I loved Bob with all my heart, or as much as you could love someone in 1252 in England as a female. I have told you about Bob before, haven t I? He knew everything about me from my favorite color to my deepest secrets. We did everything together, too; we went to the pond together, we went to the market together, we even ate together. We always exchanged I love you whenever we saw each other, and everyone thought we would eventually get married. He cared about me, and I cared about him. We were the perfect love story. Of course, all perfect stories must come to an end. It was a warm autumn day. The sun was shining, the leaves on the trees were brilliant reds, oranges, and golds, and everyone was out taking care of business on our measly dirt road. Bob and I had spent the day cleaning his home and taking care of his younger sisters, so we were both burning up. As we left his house, I had a brilliant idea. Bob darling, let us go to the pond. We can cool off there! The pond was a beautiful, tranquil place. The only sounds that could be heard were the breeze rustling the weeping willows beside the pond and the birds chirping in the willows. The pale, calm blue of the pond had helped me fall asleep a number of times. It was a wonderful place to cool off and swim, too. Bob however, instead of getting excited as he had on multiple occasions at any mention of the pond jumped away from me, guilt written on his face. I can t, I...I... Bob? Are you alright? I asked, concerned. Of course. I just can t come to the pond today, he responded, his composure regained. I...uh...I have other plans. I m sorry. Oh. Alright then. It s okay. He smiled at me, and I smiled back, although it was a little forced. Then, he turned around and disappeared into the bustle of the market. As I watched him walk away, my smile faded. What was wrong with him? Or is it me? He always hung out with me, even if he had previous arrangements. This continued for days; I would want to do something together, but Bob would have other engagements. Soon, we were doing nothing. I quickly grew suspicious. What could he possibly be doing? Eventually, I decided to follow him to his other engagements . It was a

She referred to the Constitution s wording when speaking of or defending women s rights by using phrases such as the people, citizens, and persons. She also took a different approach when addressing her audiences. Unlike most female reformers of the time, she used a more masculine style of delivery. She delivered her own speeches directly, addressed both sexes of audiences while in public, and used debates, lectures, and oratory to make her arguments. This was uncommon since most women of the time relied on male family and friends for their support. However, she did not rely solely upon logic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She moved from Boston to Seneca Falls in the year 1847, and this is where she would give her first public lecture. It was a temperance inspired speech with a mixture of women s rights woven in. The Married Womans Property Act passed in New York at the beginning of the next year, and it was one that Stanton had pushed for and endorsed, and she soon found herself in a position to lead a public movement. While attending a tea party with new friends, and sympathizing women, they spontaneously agreed upon holding a Women s Rights Convention to discuss the social, civil, and religious conditions and rights of women. This convention was rooted in economic and social instability, along with revolutions in industrialization, transportation, and technology. None of the women had ever organized a convention before, and they gave themselves only eight days to prepare for it. Stanton wrote up a speech and a resolution, and on July 19, she proposed her Declaration of Sentiments. The women debated on it all day, and then invited the public, including men, to join them the next. Stanton delivered it publicly, expressing civil and political rights of women in work, education and the church. The declaration was adopted and signed, and the resolutions were endorsed. In one of her speeches to the women of Seneca Falls, she

The Emotional Effects Of Emotional Motivational Theory The Emotional Motivational Theory contributes to the ongoing criminological debate while answering what exactly causes humans to commit crime. It also highlights how crime should be handled and prevented by studying the basic human mind and its functions. I created the Emotional Motivational Theory because it relates to every individual on earth in aspects of human interactions. The theory is based off of the seven emotions we as humans exhibit. The seven emotions consist of: anger, contempt, fear, disgust, happiness, sadness, and surprise. It is human nature to experience these emotions and this directly correlates with our ways of thinking, feeling, and actions on a day to day basis. The Emotional Motivational Theory ties the seven emotions presented in humans to the major causes of crimes. For the past centuries, criminologists have extensively studied why people commit crimes, but The Emotional Motivational Theory gives a new perspective behind the motivation created by not harnessing emotional instability properly. This is a historical breakthrough relating to the contemporary social conditions in the United States. The Emotional Motivational Theory depicts a wide range of crimes from minor drug use to the worst serial killers of all time, and everything in between. Trying to prevent criminals to stop committing crimes is like telling a new born baby to talk and walk, it takes time and effort, but my theory has a long list of programs that can help prevent crime. In recent times many commentators have pointed out that the UK s Prime Ministers are increasingly acting like Presidents of course the UK Prime Minister cannot actually become a President as the system would not allow it. Below I shall be analysing and explaining the factors that highlight the growth of presidentialism in the UK, as well as the points which suggest that the UK s Prime Minister is still a Prime Minister. In recent years there has been an increase in the growth of spatial leadership. The tendency of Prime Ministers to distance themselves from their party and government has increased, developing a personal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These sorts of powers would generally be associated with a President, not a Prime Minister. In the USA, the President and the houses are elected separately, however in the UK, the Prime Minister is elected, primarily, as an MP it is the leader of the winning party who gets the role of Prime Minister. However, in recent years, election campaigns have become really personalised focussing more on the party leader s personality, strengths and weaknesses rather than the party s policies, promises and ideas as a whole. The lead up to the next general election demonstrates this: the party leaders of the three major parties have become the face of their party s election campaign. The media concentrates more on the party leader rather than the party as a whole just like in USA. For the first time in British history, there is going to be live debates between the three leaders again just like the run up to the American general elections. These points highlight that the UK is beginning to adopt some American, presidential traditions, it can be said that this is a strong sign that presidentialism is growing in the UK. Although the UK Prime Minister is elected separately through Parliamentary elections, unlike the USA President, there is a trend for Prime Ministers to claim popular authority on the basis of electoral victory. Prime Ministers have therefore become the ideological consciences of their

It seemed like every choice made by the director Mike Nichols director and the director of cinematography Bob Surtees was justified. The outcome of each shot played an important role in shaping the message of the film. The cinematography of Bob Surtees is very complicated and thoughtful but at the same time seems poetic and spontaneous. All of Mrs. Robinson and Benjamin s scenes pass in a musically backed montage sequence, a segment that uses rapid editing, special effects and music to present compressed narrative information. This shows the endless pass of time. One scene is edited so that it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The image seems very flat. The viewer cannot focus on anything but the characters faces. The depth of field and depth of focus are very small. One of the reasons why this scene was shot like that was because of the rain. Mike Nichols wanted this scene to take place on a very rainy day. Of course no one would ever think about waiting for real rain in Beverly Hills during the summer so they had to create it by themselves. The crew set up a rainmaker over the car in which the actors were riding. They shot from alongside and from in front using a 500 millimeter telephoto lens which threw the background so far out of focus that it was impossible to tell whether it was pouring in the distance or not. This was a great example of a practical use of lenses. The Graduate, however, was rich in many experimental uses of the camera that were mainly chosen to more directly describe the characters state of minds. Thinking that confessing the truth to Elaine will solve everything, Benjamin makes a major miscalculation. He rushes towards the house with Mrs. Robinson pursuing close behind. Here again, the scene of Ben running towards the house was shot with a telephoto lens. This lens was chosen to create an illusion that rain is present everywhere, not only over Ben s head. The use of the telephoto lens and the movement of the camera created another very interesting effect. The moment when Ben is running was shot from a farther distance. One can notice that the camera
