Option and Dividend Yield
Chapter 15
Quiz
15.1) A portfolio is currently worth $10 million and has a beta of 1.0. An index is currently
standing at 800. Explain how a put option with a strike price of 700 can be used to provide
portfolio insurance.
Index goes down to 700
10*(800/700)= 8.75 million
Buying put options= 10,000,000/800= 12,500
If you buy the options at 800, the value will be 12,500 times the index with a strike price of 700
therefore providing protection against a drop in the value of the portfolio below $8.75 million.
Each contract is on 100 times the index, a total of 125 contracts would be required.
15.2) Once we know how to value options on a stock paying a dividend yield, we know how to
value options on stock indices and currencies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Many people who live within the borders of the United States or live anywhere in the world
have most likely heard of a mysterious place referred to as Dreamland or otherwise known as the
infamous Area 51. The reason why this place has such an incredible level of notoriety is because
of the various mysteries behind the location. The amount of secrecy that this place is shrouded in
leaves a huge gap for the imagination of the conspiracy enthusiasts to come up with incredible ideas
at what actually happens within the gates of Area 51, which makes it the perfect breeding ground
for conspiracies in the minds of people all over the world.

On July 8th the press released a statement in a local newspaper reporting the event with a headline
titled: RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell Region. The article contained text as
follows:
The many rumors regarding the flying disc became a reality yesterday when the intelligence
office of the 509th Bomb group of the Eighth Air Force, Roswell Army Air Field, was fortunate
enough to gain possession of a disc through the cooperation of one of the local ranchers and the
sheriff s office of Chaves County. The flying object landed on a ranch near Roswell sometime
last week. Not having phone facilities, the rancher stored the disc until such time as he was able
to contact the sheriff s office, who in turn notified Maj. Jesse A. Marcel of the 509th Bomb
Group Intelligence Office. Action was immediately taken and the disc was picked up at the
rancher s home. It was inspected at the Roswell Army Air Field and subsequently loaned by
Major Marcel to higher headquarter. (First print of the Daily Roswell Record for July 8th, 1947
as seen on www.theweek.com). It is believed that the FBI transported the wreckage to Groom Lake
otherwise known as Area 51 in order to be further studied and inspected.
The entire story would not be as contemplated as it is if the government had not done what it did
after the story was released. The day after the first

Comparing Mr. Margolin s Lawsuit Against Funny Face And...
Personal jurisdiction is the power of a court over the parties in the case. Before a court can exercise
power over a party, the constitution requires that the party has certain minimum contacts with the
forum in which the court sits. Due to the parties involved had contact through the use of the
internet, Margolin s lawsuit against Funny Face and Novelty will have jurisdiction over them. Mr.
Margolin could use these grounds to file suit and get compensation.
Subject matter jurisdiction is the authority that the court may have to hear cases of a particular
type or cases relating to a specific subject matter. Under federal and state jurisdictions, Mr.
Margolin could file a lawsuit against Funny Face and Novelty for the negligence committed by the

The Role Of Cousins In Professional Sports
With the NFL off season fast approaching, there are a lot of storylines to keep an eye on that could
make this off season really interesting. One story to keep an eye on is the drama between the
Washington Redskins and their franchise quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Ever since the last off season, Cousins has been asking to get a new contract the problem with that
is the team and Cousins can not agree on a deal. Over the past few weeks, people have been
speculating if the team would trade him. The question now is should the team trade Cousins?
Drafted in the 4th round of the 2012 draft, Cousins was drafted to be the long term backup for
Robert Griffin III who they drafted in the same draft as him getting selected with the second pick of
the 2012 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only thing that is standing in his way of getting a new deal is how much does he want? It all
depends on his asking price, he is heading to his 30 s soon so he should want to get the most
money he can get right now and not wait.
On the Redskins side of things, the team is playing the waiting game with Cousins when it comes
to a new contract which could at the end of the day be a really bad thing. Multiple reports that are
out there are saying that the team does not think he is worth the money he is asking for.
The Redskins should do the smart thing and just lock him up right now as long as he does not
want over 100 million dollars a fair asking price is between 50 million dollars and 70 million
dollars. There are not a lot of franchise quarterbacks out there right now, and the team can not afford
to lose him right now.
At the end of the day, the Redskins should not trade Cousins he is too valuable to the franchise
right now and he means a lot to the locker room. If the team does trade him, there are not going to
be a lot of options to replace him with the quarterbacks in the draft do not have the potential that
Cousins has right

Spirometry Lab
The respiratory system is responsible for supplying the body with oxygen and removing carbon
dioxide. Respiration allows this gas exchange to occur in the lungs. While respiration can be
observed as a physical process, the chemical process provides the body s cells with adequate
amounts of energy, which is produced by the breakdown of ATP (VanPutte, 2014). In order for the
cells to obtain this energy, the respiratory systemgoes through a process called pulmonary
ventilation, or breathing. The two concepts involved in pulmonary ventilation are an inspiration, air
flowing into the lungs, and expiration, air forced out of the lungs. The air pressures and volumes
are essential to breathing. During inhalation the diaphragm contracts allowing the... Show more

Addressing a huge gathering of Serbs assembled on the site of the battle of Kosovo Polje, where
an Ottoman army inflicted a crushing defeat on Serbian forces 600 years earlier, he launched a
campaign to restore Serbian greatness that resulted in the break up of Yugoslavia, amid the worst
atrocities and violations of human rights since the end of the Second World War. While the
formidable Serb led Yugoslav army was used against Croats too, the worst excesses and

Muslims.
What effects the Balkan region is its blood soaked history, an ethnic jigsaw puzzle and, currently
the amp;#8220;Mad Serb Disease. ; Like the Bosnian tragedy, Kosovo amp;#8217;s misfortune
results equally from the dominant powers letting expediency rather than ethnicity determine the
Balkan borders. Like the Bosnian muslims, Kosovar Albanians were lumped into the artificial Serb
dominated state called Yugoslavia amp;#8211; even though ethinicity, religion and geography
bound them to Albania.
Thus, Kosovo has been a pawn in the hands of the powers that mindlessly drew and re drew the
Balkan map. Despite being 90 per cent Albanian, Kosovo is seen by the Serbs as the cradle of
civilization. Its north and east have sites of religious and historical significance to them. Hence the

Importance Of Freedom Of The Press
The freedom of the press was given to all Americans at the very start of building our union and
joining the 13 divided colonies into a more united nation. To get all the thirteen colonies to agree
on the signing of the Constitution a Bill of Rights was promised to the framers. The Bill of
Rights is comprised with ten amendments giving a sense of security to the framers in making
sure that the government won t take all power away from the citizens residing the the country.
The first amendment included in the Bill of Rights states that Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press. This freedom of
the press given to citizens was something that the framers took serious and gave great importance
to. Since this freedom lets the citizens of America know what goes on behind the scene in the
governments offices. This information is shared with the public making it so that the government
doesn t keep important information from its citizens which would prevent its citizens from
speaking out in the wrongdoing they see led by the government. Thereby not letting the
government sly by and take actions that would deem to be unfair for its people and the rights of
its country. This was the kind of tyranny the framers were concerned about, and the more a person
is concerned about tyranny the freer you want freedom of speech and press to be. One grave
imprortance that freedom of the press gave to its citizens was assurance

Uses And Techniques Of A Brake
INTRODUCTION
A brake is a mechanical gadget which represses movement, moderating or ceasing a moving
question or keeping its movement. Most generally brakes use contact between two surfaces
squeezed together to change over the dynamic energy of the moving object into warmth, however
different techniques for vitality transformation may be utilized. For example regenerative braking
changes over a great part of the vitality to electrical vitality, which may be put away for later utilize.
Different techniques change over dynamic vitality into potential vitality in such put away structures
as pressurized air or pressurized oil. Vortex current brakes use attractive fields to change over
dynamic vitality into electric current in the brake circle, balance, or rail, which is changed over into
warmth. Still other braking strategies even change active vitality into diverse structures, for
instance by exchanging the vitality to a pivoting flywheel.

The Abc Murders Chapter Summaries
The second book I read over the summer break was a page turning mystery novel, The ABC
Murders, written by one of my favorite authors, Agatha Christie. This book is another installment
of Christie s Detective Hercule Poirot series. In this novel, Poirot shares a letter he received from
the ABC Murderer telling him to watch out for the small town, Andover, on the upcoming 21st,
the following Friday, with his friend Captain Hastings. Poirot had feared that a murder would
occur on that day. However, when Friday finally rolls around, no murder is reported. The pair

Why Boxing Should Be Banned
Detrimental is one reason why professional boxing should be prohibited in the United States.
According to James Holloway, The British, American, Canadian and Australian Medical
Associations have all called for an end to boxing, citing the high risk of brain damage and other
injuries. (Holloway, 21 22) Four major medical associations all agreed that boxingshould be banned
due to its harmful effects. One harmful effect being brain damage which could cause boxers to
be more prone to mental deterioration. Mental deterioration could then lead to Alzheimer s or
Parkinson s. On the same note, Nick Mancini reveals, The American Association of Neurological
Surgeons say 90 percent of boxers suffer some kind of brain injury while boxing. (Mancini, 22
23) Almost no boxer is safe from brain damage. The brain controls the whole body, so if damage
occurs to it, this could lead to deleterious consequences on the rest of the body. According to
Mailer, Paret died on his feet. (Mailer, 35) Paret has died in the ring solely from boxing
interactions. This is just one of many deaths caused by professional boxing. Clyde Haberman
writes, There had been plenty of ring related deaths before then (and since: 10 worldwide in a
typical year). (Haberman, 34 35) Every year, ten people die merely due to boxing. Professional
boxing is extremely damaging, that it can even be fatal. Fatal, not only to the professional boxers
themselves, but also to those around them. Them could be family,

Domestic And International Measures Of International Crime
Both domestic and international measures are somewhat effective in dealing with international
crime. Both crimes against the international community and Transnational crimes represent both
positive outcomes in dealing with international crime, thus, exemplify issues in key areas. Through
intergovernmental organizations such as the International Criminal Courtand Operation Sovereign
Borders (OSB), international crimeIs effectively dealt with. Hence, problems such as extradition
and people smuggling are hard to contain. These four issues will also be discussed in light of key
effectiveness criteria, including equality, access, resources and the protection of rights.
Crimes against the international community are a collection of offences that are recognised by the
international community as being of universal concern. However the prosecution of crimes against
the international community can be controversial. Such crimes may be committed in the context of
military conflict. They may be highly politically motivated, or they may have been ordered or
committed by the state itself. The establishment of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in 2002
was a significant development in the law of crimes against the international community. The
independent international court established by the Rome Statute, acts as a last resort for crimes
fitting into the three categories of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. Due to
Australia s Dualistic system, both the War crimes Act

Symptoms And Treatment Of Vascular Closure
Background
Vascular closure devices following cardiac catherization through the femoral artery have been
gaining significant traction since its use in the mid 1990s. Compared to the previous gold standard
of manual compression, VCDs allow for shortened time to ambulation, decreased duration of
hospitalization post procedure, and increased patient comfort. The devices have also shown
safeness comparable to manual compression. Despite the many advantages and variety of devices
available, there are still complications to take into account. More common issues include device
failure, bleeding, and hematoma. Less common but more serious complications include infection,
ischemia, limb loss, and death.

Due to these findings patient was directly admitted to the hospital and placed on a heparin drip. On
physical exam patient had absent pulses below the right femoral artery. However, there was no
discoloration, change of temperature, or sensory as well as motor deficits of the right lower
extremity. Patient was taking a low dose aspirin and red yeast rice for cholesterol management at
that time.
The following morning the patient underwent successful angioplasty of the right common femoral
artery with thrombectomy and a 6 x 20 mm balloon angioplasty, reducing a 90% stenosis to less
than 30%. A spider catheter was deployed to perform the thrombectomy, however an atrial blazer
catheter failed to retrieve the spider device as it was unable to completely collapse. As a result the
patient was taken to the OR for vascular surgery. The spider basket was retrieved through the wall
of the common femoral artery with its contents.
The specimen was sent to pathology, which noted a foreign body device surrounded by soft tissue
attached to the spider device. The foreign body was noted to be a Angio Seal plug from the left heart
catheterization that had been presumed a thrombus.
Discussion
Promising results have shown that the Angio seal VCD has excellent efficacy and safety after
routine catheterization and intervention. However, clear indications of use and risk of
complications need to be evaluated and monitored.

The Birth Of The Periodic Table
In September 1860 the birth of the Periodic table began. A group of the world s best chemists
assembled in Germany to discuss the issues of atomic mass. At this meeting an Italian chemist,
Stanislao Cannizzaro, introduced the right way to accurately measure the relative mass of an
atom. After the new method was introduced chemists started to recognize similarities in the
properties of various elements and placed them into families. In this earlier stages of the periodic
table there were four main chemists; Dobereiner, Newlands, Lothar Meyer, and Dmitri Mendeleev
that played a substantial role in the development of the periodic table. Dobereiner started with a
few family groups each containing three elements. Newlands put the elements of those families in
repeating groups called octaves. Meyer noted additional repeating properties. Mendeleev put it all
together into what has become the periodic table of the elements. The German chemist, named
Dobereiner, in 1829 noted some of the first elemental similarities. His observations began with
bromine, which had just been discovered. He noticed that the properties of bromine were similar
to chlorine and iodine. Not only were they related but also various properties of bromine, including
the atomic weight, fell midway between the properties of chlorine and iodine, but also there was a
pattern within the group of regularly increasing atomic weights. As he did his research he noticed a
couple other groups of elements with patterns

Challenges In Night By Elie Wiesel
During the Holocaust they counted that 6 million Jews died. The Jews faced many difficulties,
death being the main one. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, he told his story of the difficulties he
faced during the Holocaust. The Nazis were horrible to the Jews; they gave them little food, made
them march many miles, worked them long hard hours, and when on the train they had little air.
Because Elie Wieselovercame his difficulties he faced during the Holocaust, I feel I can overcome
my problems and live a wonderful life.
many times during the book it talks about Wiesel s problems. Elie s first problem would be when
he was in Buna, a concentration camp. This was a problem for Wiesel because he didn t have
food, water, and at sometimes air. In the book Elie says At ten o clock we were given our daily
ration of bread (Wiesel 34 ). This quote shows how that they only got bread once a day from
their SS Officers, and that they didn t have food. Another problem Wiesel had is the loss of
family. Elie got taken away from his mom and sister when they were deported on the train but got
to stay with his father. Elie says I certainly do. But on one condition: I want to stay with my father
(Wiesel 35). With Elie being taken away from his mom and sister, he wanted to stay with his father
through the whole thing. Wiesel s father was his strength to stay alive. Elie had tough adversities
he had to go through in his life and he was strong and overcame them.

My Views On The United States
It was with ecstatic delight and tears of joy that I realized I was finally getting the chance to move
to the United States. I had secretly admired and hoped to live in America. Residing in the United
States was pinned on my mind as the best life that one can have in the world. But my main idea
behind the admiration of living in the United Stateswas motivated by my desire to achieve academic
excellence. My goal was set, and my mind was fixed with sheer enthusiasm to attain the target.

After close to two months in school, I was not doing well at all. I was used to memorization

Wilt Chamberlain s Dominance In The NBA
One reason that Wilt Chamberlain should be called the GOAT is because of his dominance
while he was on the court. One way that he showed his dominance is that he never seemed to be
overmatched on defense. According to an encyclopedia entry on him, He had exceptional body
control for a big man, and although he was formidable on defense, he never fouled out of a game
(Chamberlain, Wilt). That is crazy to think about. First off, he played 1,045 games in his NBA
career (Sachare 28). It is hard for any player to never foul out in his career. It is even harder for a
big man, especially one that other teams wanted to not be in the game due to his dominance. He
was also averaging over 40 minutes per game every season and sometimes played the... Show more

He also did it over 25 years earlier. Teams even stacked defenses against Wilt which would have
been illegal today ( Wilt was larger than life... ). Without these rules, Wilt might have averaged 70
points per game. That is how dominant he was! Finally, the two championship teams Wilt was
on, the 1966 1967 Philadelphia 76ers and the 1971 1972 Los Angeles Lakers, were two of the
most dominant teams of all time. The 76ers had a record of 68 13 and the Lakers had a record of
69 13 which was the two best marks in NBA history until the Chicago Bulls 72 10 record in 1995
96 (Sachare 28). The Lakers also had 33 straight victories with an average winning margin of 12.3
points, best in NBA history [Note: the record for average winning margin has been broken since
the writing of this article by the San Antonio Spurs in 2015 2016] ( Wilt was larger than life... ).
Wilt Chamberlain carried the 76ers team, leading them in every important statistical category.
Despite the Lakers team having legends such as Jerry West and Gail Goodrich, they probably
wouldn t have set the records in win streak or average win margin without Wilt. Although a few
teams have gotten a better record than Wilt s championship teams, Wilt is the only one

Human Carbonic Anhydrase II ( Hca II )
Human Carbonic anhydrase II
Carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) has around 16 isozymes, which are different isoforms, and
these have assorted tissue position s subcellular and distribution, which are exist in plants, animal,
archaea, and eubacteria. However, not all of them are involved decisive physiological processes
but only some of them. For example, acid base balance, respiration, biosynthetic reactions, and
electrolytes secretion are crucial physiological processes, which are affected by some of carbonic
anhydrase isozymes. The most significant feature of carbonic anhydrase is diffusion controlled
metalloenzymes, which converts reversibly carbon dioxide to bicarbonate and proton.
This proposal focuses on human carbonic anhydrase II (HCA II), this enzyme has a tertiary
structure and 29 kD polypeptide, which is the most common isozyme and the fastest. The active
site of this enzyme (HCA II) includes a metal ion such as zinic ion, which is a tetrahedral by
coordinating a three histidine residues (His119, His96, and His94) and hydroxide ion the forth
ligand (H2O263). The most important function of HCA II is the mechanism of conversion carbon
dioxide to bicarbonate. This mechanism occurs by three steps:
His64 E Zn OH + CO2 = His64 E Zn HCO3 + H2O = His64 E Zn H2O + HCO3 (a)
His64 E Zn H2O + H2O = H3O+ His64 E Zn OH (b)

Brand Manager For Topshop Is The Most Difficult Market
TOPSHOP is mid level high street and it is possibly the most difficult market to sell products in.
This is because it requires a lot of specific branding to strongly create an extremely clear
consumer market. The products are neither cheap, which removes the appeal to those wanting
throw away or value products, or the luxury market, which would see the items as low quality.
However, if placed correctly, it creates some of the most loyal consumers there are today.
Products are designed for the core customer in terms of materials, embellishments, shape, colour
and style, and the business is very focused on every aspect of their customer in the way that it

Anglo Saxon Identity Essay
Who were the Anglo Saxons?
The Anglo Saxons can loosely be defined as the Germanic tribes who settled in Britain at the start of
the 5th century with the fall of the Roman Empire. The importance of these settlers and their
identity in the long term development of medieval Europe is emphasised by John Hines who asserts
that the breakdown of the Roman Imperial Order in Western Europe saw the emergence of entirely
new...identities . When considering Anglo Saxon identity, two main concepts must be addressed;
firstly the nature of the Adventus Saxonum and the consequent impact of this upon the native
Britons. Whilst there is much debate, evidence strongly supports that the arrival of the Anglo Saxons
to Britain was lengthy process which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The aforementioned work by Bede offers one of the earliest written accounts of the first arrival of
the Anglo Saxons but as with his assertions regarding the origins of the settlers, Bede fails to
provide an accurate picture of the pace and nature of the Anglo Saxon migration. In the first
instance, Bede chronicles the story of Hengist and Horsa, whereby King Vortigern invites
Saxons into Britain to help defend against the Pictish raids in the north, but then turn on the
Britons and begin to seize land for themselves the first commanders are said to have been the two
brothers Hengist and Horsa . When translated from Saxon languages Hengist and Horsa translate
back to stallion and mare , pointing towards the story being more a folk tale than an actual
historic event. Further to this, Bede based much of his work off Gildas who wrote the earliest
insular text available On the Ruin of Britain in around 540, and also accounted for the legendary
brothers they sealed its doom by inviting in among them (like wolves into the sheep fold), the
fierce and impious Saxons, a race hateful to both God and men, to repel the invasions of the
northern nations . As such, Bede inherits much of Gildas bias, which is displayed clearly through
his scathing language and comparison of the Saxons to wolves . The suggestion that the arrival of
the Anglo Saxons to Britain was an event, rather than an extended process aligns closely with
Gildas agenda to link

Imperialism In World History
Imperialism is a major part of world history. It has created borders, wars, and nations with its
ideas and actions but many people do not know what it was or how it shaped the modern world. It
also brought a darker side of humanity that crushed many lives and cultures. So what is

The Discovery Of The California Gold Rush
The discovery of the California Gold Rush took place by chance. Mainly the amount of the
world s gold is deep underground and embedded in hard rock. Unlike anywhere else in the world
at that time the gold in California was simple to dig up, free for the taking and required little
tools to acquire any gold. Only things required: a pick or shovel and a pan to shift out the gold

The Procedure Of Language Learning Of The Infants
Less than 1 percent of American adults today are proficient in a foreign language that they studied
in a U.S. classroom, states Amelia Friedman in The Atlantic. That s noteworthy considering that in
2008 almost all high schools in the country 93 percent offered foreign languages (Friedman). This
has resulted in, as Brad Marshall, a teaching fellow of languages and literatures, notes, [the]
widespread belief that adults will inevitably have problems and will certainly never become fluent,
while children are supposed to pick up languages with ease . However, study after study has shown
the procedure of languagelearning of the infants. The essential elements of learning a language lie
in your ears and the way you process into the language. Although there is a widespread myth in
learning a language children acquire a language much easier than adults do the innate ability of
adults language acquisitionare basically as same as that of children s.
Adults have a hard time understanding what people are saying in a foreign language. They think
they don t know what they are saying because of their lack of vocabulary, but it turns out they
cannot even understand a word that they know when they hear the word. However, this phenomena
you cannot catch the sound of a foreign language is pretty normal. As the first step of the language
acquisition, the infants tune their ears to be perceptual to the language. Marcia Barinaga in the

Factory Act Of 1800 Dbq Analysis
Were Political or Economic Revolutions the Most Impacting on Society?
All throughout history, there have been plenty of revolutions. They have had both negative and
positive impacts on society and the economy. The Industrial Revolution by far, has been the most
impacting on the world. During the revolution, ingenious inventions helped to shape the revolution
and influence modern technology. As well as these inventions, the Factory Act of 1833 was passed,
which improved working conditions for children laboring in factories. In addition to these two
things, a new time standard was created that the whole country of Britain would eventually run on.
In contrast, some people believe political revolutions, like the Haitian and French, were more
evolving. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Britain today runs on GMT, which stands for Greenwich Mean Time. The time is exactly five hours
ahead of the time it is in Connecticut, which runs on EST, or Eastern Standard Time. The countries:
United Kingdom, France, Spain, Algeria, Mali, Ghana are all in the GMT time zone. For these
countries, this means the line located on the Greenwich Meridian runs through them. During the
Industrial Revolution, Britain decided it wanted to set a standard time that would be followed by
everyone. It was the first country to do this. Railways in Britain, ...cared most about the
inconsistencies of local mean time, and they forced a uniform time on the country, (Document
7). The country felt compelled to adapt a new standard of time, after railway workers expressed
complaints of inconvenience. This standard of time was known as, London Time. Furthermore,
in November 1840, the Great Western Railway was the first to follow London Time, which
eventually influenced other railways to do the same. By 1847, the majority of railways ran on
London Time (Document 7). Moreover, it was later approved that all stations be adopted to this
new unit of time, known as GMT. This recommendation was made on September 22, 1847, by the
Railway Clearing House, which eventually received approval from the General Post Office
(Document 7). This was much more convenient for railways, as they could have a

Advantages And Disadvantages Of NMR Spectroscopy
NMR spectroscopy is a powerful analytical tool used for studying both structural and chemical
information about the sample. When it is implemented for metabolomics studies NMR provides
several advantages. Firstly, NMR based metabolic profiling can be highly quantitative and
reproducible. This is extremely helpful when multivariate analysis are usually performed in
metabolomic analysis (Nicholson and Wilson 1989). Furthermore, NMR sensitivity is hardly
affected by metabolite pKa or hydrophobicity, which suggests that NMR is an excellent choice for
samples in different conditions (Pan and Raftery 2007). In many metabolomicsstudies, e.g. milk
(Lu, Antunes Fernandes et al. 2013), human serum (Trygg, Gullberg et al. 2005), NMR performed

Several studies determining the metabolites compounds use solvent extraction before performing
GC MS (Saleem, Bouatra et al. 2013). In these studies, two sequential derivatization steps, a
protection step using methoxyamine hydrochloride(methoxyamine HCl )(shown in Figure 4), and a
subsequent silylation step (shown in Figure 5 and 6) using N methyl
trimethylsilyltrifluoroacetamide (MSTFA), are employed. Methoximiation step converts carbonyl
groups into methoximes (R=N O CH3) which is performed to inhibit ring formation of reducing
sugars by protecting aldehyde and ketone

The Dangers Of Air Pollution
Eliminate Pollutants
To eliminate dust mites, pollens and polluting particles from our daily atmosphere, one solution
exists, and it is the air purifier. In addition to its invisibility, all the complexity of this pollution lies
in the large number of pollutants of various types. The sources of indoor air pollution are multiple:
some building materials, furniture, air, lifestyle of occupants (smoking, etc.), combustion
appliances, insufficient ventilation, biocontaminants (house dust mites, etc.), allergens, human
activity (cooking, etc.), cleaning products, equipment, etc.
There are a few main categories of pollutants. One of these is chemical: building materials,
furniture, decorative items, products maintenance and DIY. Air purifiers should also have an
extremely quiet night mode that allows you to sleep next to the unit without being disturbed.
Fine particles, we talk a lot about them, but once home, we continue to breathe polluted air and it is
even more polluted than the outside air, and of a different nature. The most sophisticated air
purifiers are therefore installed on the central heating ventilation system. Concerning pollution as
well as bacteria, the air purifier is able to filter them also thanks to a HEPA filter.
If an air purifier is used, these particles are normally treated by the HEPA filter with a very
promising level of retention. The air flow and especially the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate, ie
the volume of purified air it is able to deliver) must be adapted to the size of the room to be treated
and even ideally the entire home.
The activated charcoal filter is mainly used to kill bad odors in your home. If you simply want to
protect yourself from dust and pollution, one air purifier it should be enough. There is also
pollution that emanates from glues and chemicals contained in furniture, building and decoration
materials (such as paint solvents), some cleaning products, etc.
An air purifier filter is composed of a layer of very fine fiber, and thanks to its tight weave, it can
hold animal hair, fine dust, molds, pesticides, fungi, bacteria, viruses, dust mites, pollens, or even
diesel particles. The air purifier is for anyone who wants to treat the air quality of their

Stockhausen Life and Works
Composer Karlheinz Stockhausen was born August 22, 1928 in the small town of Mödrath
located just west of Cologne Germany. He was the first child of three born to Simon and Gertrud
Stockhausen. Early in his life, the Stockhausen family struggled financially. Germany was in a low
point of stability after WWI and most people had trouble making ends meet. Simon Stockhausen, a
teacher at the time, was forced to move from one temporary post to another on average twice a
year. Unfortunately in 1932 when he was four years old, Stockhausen s mother Gertrud was
committed into a sanatorium. This was likely due to the depression she encountered associated with
the instability, poverty, and having three children so close to one another. In 1935 Shortly after his
wife became ill, Simon Stockhausen was promoted to head teacher at a small village school located
in Altenburg. The newly formed Third Reich led by Adolf Hitler used him in this position to
influence the local community by spreading propaganda and organizing fundraisers for the new
movement. Karlheinz Stockhausenshowed an early interest in musicand the family piano. The
family also owned a radio that young Stockhausen listened to and attempted to imitate. When he
was seven, Karlheinz was enrolled in school and began his first piano lessons with the organist of
the local Protestant church. He practiced often and learned to play back music he heard on the radio.
In 1939 Karlheinz was refused admission to an elite high

Malcolm Gladwell The Art Of Failure
In The Art of Failure, Gladwell analyzes the two different ways someone can underperform when
faced with high stress levels. The two forms are choking and panicking, both of which are huge
detriments to high stake tasks. Malcolm writes that in order to overcome these challenges, one
must first understand which form they are dealing with. Panicking and choking as defined by
Gladwell can be characterized by the root of the obstacle, the resulting inability, and the form of
compensation with which a person will be inclined to react. To begin, panicking and choking can be
differentiated by the factor which they are caused. While both occur in high stress environments,
these types of failure do not result from the same internal conflict. Panic

Climate Change And Resource Scarcity
Climate Change Resource Scarcity
Resources throughout the United States are being exhausted an alarming rate. In fact, 95% of the
original forests in the United States are now gone (DiCaprio).Personally, I think this is a shocking
and eye opening statistic. The statistic really gives you an insight on how much of the natural world
humans have used in order to sustain the lifestyles they currently live. However, people cannot
continue to use natural resources at the current rate because they won t be able to sustain us for the
future. One component that is affecting our resources is climate change. Countries all over the
world are experiencing changes in their climates that have caused droughts and conflicts over
natural resources, such as water and oil. Additionally, a changing climate will cause healthcare
systems all over the world to adapt to treating new diseases (Richardson, et al. 44).
Earth is a planet that has many complex components that work in unison to allow humans and
millions of other species to live on it. Stephen Emmott, author of Ten Billion states, the main
components of the systems are the atmosphere (the air we breathe), hydrosphere (the planet s
water), cryosphere (the ice sheet and glaciers), and the biosphere (the planet s plants and animals
(36). Throughout the course of human history, humans and the Earth have lived in mutual
harmony. Humans didn t alter the Earth s natural systems and cycles, and, as a result, humans have

In Her Shoes Analysis
In the Activity, In Her Shoes, I decided to see the experiences of domestic violence in the shoes of
three victims/survivors of domestic violence. The three victims/survivors I chose to view their
experiences in their shoes are: Natasha Washington, Derek Johnson, and Danielle Lutton.
Natasha Washington
Natasha Washington is a hard working, 40 year old Attorney who is a victim/survivor of domestic
violence. In her story, her partner, Cutis, physically and emotionally abused her. A man who she
thought had eyes only for her, but was seeing other women, and abused Natasha when not given his
way. She took matters into her own hands to see help at a domestic violence agency, and counseling
services. That helping her to make moves to get away from her abusive relationship with Curtis.

is not the only victim in her perspective, it is believed that Christina have been sexually abused
by her father, John. However, there were evidence shown of such abuse done to his child.
Danielle does everything she can to keep her child, and get both her and her child away from
John. There was lack of support given to Danielle by the courts, Child Protection Services, and
law officials. However, she did receive the help she needed from her mother, other victims

Discuss How An Innovative Culture Contributed To The...
The Intel Corporation produces microprocessors that are used in computers. It has a market share
of over 75% and has been praised for its highly innovative culture. Do you think that an innovative
culture can be relied on to guarantee the future success of a business? Justify your answer with
reference to Intel and/or other organisations you know. (40 marks)
An organisation s culture refers to the way we do things around here and is determined by the
values, attitudes and beliefs of the people who work within it. As such, culture will undoubtedly
influence the success of a business. In particular, it can be argued that an innovative culture can
lead to business success because it enables companies to share ideas more freely and ... Show more

BMW use a similar culture where everyone is expected to help find solutions. They have a network
of committed associates with few hierarchical barriers, allowing every employee to voice their
opinion. This culture has allowed BMW to promote new products and get the product just right
through thousands of brainstorming sessions. These examples show how innovation can lead to
success in technological industries.
Innovative culture can be relied on to guarantee the future success of a business, as the external
environment is constantly changing. This can be linked to Charles Handy s theory of discontinuous
change which means that in the future change is constant, and therefore an innovative culture
would most likely guarantee a business success. Being highly innovative would mean that managers
would have to be flexible and react to the constantly changing external environment, therefore
adopting an innovative culture would mean businesses would have to come up with ideas and
strategies for the future in order for the business to remain competitive and successful. Innovative
culture should equip firms with the ability to cope better with change. For example Intel s strategy
of diversification where they use tactics such as job swapping and controlled employee role
changes to increase

Cost of Capital
Cost of Capital
Definition: cost of capital is the rate of return that a company must earn on its project investments
to maintain its market value and attract funds. The cost of capital to a company is the minimum
rate of return that is must earn on its investments in order to satisfy the various categories of
investors, who have made investments in the form of shares , debentures and loans. The cost of
capital in operational terms refers to the discount rate that would be used in determining the present
value of the estimated future cash proceeds and eventually deciding whether the project is worth
undertaking or not. It is defined as the minimum rate of return that a firm must earn on its
investment for the market value of the firm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Marginal cost of capital Marginal cost of capital is the weighted average cost of new funds
raised by the firm. For capital budgeting and financing decisions, the marginal cost of capital is the
most important factor to be considered.
Cost of debt : Cost of debt is the interest rate that the company pays on its debt content of the
capital structure. It can be measured as before tax cost of debt or after tax cost of debt. Tax plays
an important role as the debenture interest expense is allowed as an expense for tax purposes.
Debt may be issued at par, at premium or at a discount. It may be irredeemable or redeemable.
Cost of Irredeemable debt: Irredeemable debentures are those debentures issuing by which the
company has no obligations to pay back the value of the debenture on some fixed date or time and
has the full authority to choose any time to pay back the debt until the company is a going entity
and does not default in it s interest payments. So we take into account only the sale value (SV)
while evaluating the cost of irredeemable debentures.
Cost of Redeemable debt: For redeemable debentures, the maturity date is fixed initially. The
meaning redeemable denotes that the debentures would be redeemed by the company at a fixed
date or after a specified period of notice. So, we take the average of Sale Value and Redeemable
value while calculating the cost of redeemable debentures.

There are two main aspects that describe and affect both service quality; the actual service
customers expected (expected service) and services perceived (perceived service). Fitzsimmons
Fitzsimmons (2001) explains that the creation of customer satisfaction for a service can be
identified through a comparison between service perceptions with service expectation, see Figure 1.
Methods
Focus on utilizing secondary airports and older terminals should reduce airport fees and also up to
a certain point it is possible to avoid head on competition with or any of the high end airline
services.
This will enable less congested airports, reduce average flight times and delay incidents.
Consequently Indigo will start to attract business travellers who value punctuality and frequency.
Other important features that can be added include innovative boarding processes that yield shorter
ground waits are
Reduce and monitor air freights Since these airlines are frequent flyers reducing the load on the
aircraft. It would also improve the flying experience, especially through

The Bill of Rights is comprised with ten amendments giving a sense of security to the framers in making sure that the government won t take all power away from the citizens residing the the country. The first amendment included in the Bill of Rights states that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press. This freedom of the press given to citizens was something that the framers took serious and gave great importance to. Since this freedom lets the citizens of America know what goes on behind the scene in the governments offices. This information is shared with the public making it so that the government doesn t keep important information from its citizens which would prevent its citizens from speaking out in the wrongdoing they see led by the government. Thereby not letting the government sly by and take actions that would deem to be unfair for its people and the rights of its country. This book is another installment of Christie s Detective Hercule Poirot series. In this novel, Poirot shares a letter he received from the ABC Murderer telling him to watch out for the small town, Andover, on the upcoming 21st, the following Friday, with his friend Captain Hastings. Poirot had feared that a murder would occur on that day. However, when Friday finally rolls around, no murder is reported. According to James Holloway, The British, American, Canadian and Australian Medical Associations have all called for an end to boxing, citing the high risk of brain damage and other injuries. (Holloway, 21 22) Four major medical associations all agreed that boxingshould be banned due to its harmful effects. One harmful effect being brain damage which could cause boxers to be more prone to mental deterioration. Mental deterioration could then lead to Alzheimer s or Parkinson s. On the same note, Nick Mancini reveals, The American Association of Neurological Surgeons say 90 percent of boxers suffer some kind of brain injury while boxing. (Mancini, 22 23) Almost no boxer is safe from brain damage. The brain controls the whole body, so if damage occurs to it, this could lead to deleterious consequences on the rest of the body. According to Mailer, Paret died on his feet. (Mailer, 35) Paret has died in the ring solely from boxing interactions. This is just one of many deaths caused by professional boxing. Clyde Haberman writes, There had been plenty of ring related deaths before then (and since: 10 worldwide in a typical year). (Haberman, 34 35) Every year, ten people die merely due to boxing. Crimes against the international community are a collection of offences that are recognised by the international community as being of universal concern. However the prosecution of crimes against the international community can be controversial. Such crimes may be committed in the context of military conflict. The following morning the patient underwent successful angioplasty of the right common femoral artery with thrombectomy and a 6 x 20 mm balloon angioplasty, reducing a 90% stenosis to less than 30%. A spider catheter was deployed to perform the thrombectomy, however an atrial blazer catheter failed to retrieve the spider device as it was unable to completely collapse. As a result the patient was taken to the OR for vascular surgery. The spider basket was retrieved through the wall of the common femoral artery with its contents. The specimen was sent to pathology, which noted a foreign body device surrounded by soft tissue attached to the spider device. At this meeting an Italian chemist, Stanislao Cannizzaro, introduced the right way to accurately measure the relative mass of an atom. After the new method was introduced chemists started to recognize similarities in the properties of various elements and placed them into families. In this earlier stages of the periodic table there were four main chemists; Dobereiner, Newlands, Lothar Meyer, and Dmitri Mendeleev that played a substantial role in the development of the periodic table. Dobereiner started with a few family groups each containing three elements. Newlands put the elements of those families in repeating groups called octaves. Meyer noted additional repeating properties. Mendeleev put it all together into what has become the periodic table of the elements. The German chemist, named Dobereiner, in 1829 noted some of the first elemental similarities. His observations began with bromine, which had just been discovered. He noticed that the properties of bromine were similar to chlorine and iodine. Not only were they related but also various properties of bromine, including the atomic weight, fell midway between the properties of chlorine and iodine, but also there was a pattern within the group of regularly increasing atomic weights. Human Carbonic Anhydrase II ( Hca II ) Human Carbonic anhydrase II Carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) has around 16 isozymes, which are different isoforms, and these have assorted tissue position s subcellular and distribution, which are exist in plants, animal, archaea, and eubacteria. However, not all of them are involved decisive physiological processes but only some of them. For example, acid base balance, respiration, biosynthetic reactions, and electrolytes secretion are crucial physiological processes, which are affected by some of carbonic anhydrase isozymes. The most significant feature of carbonic anhydrase is diffusion controlled metalloenzymes, which converts reversibly carbon dioxide to bicarbonate and proton. This proposal focuses on human carbonic anhydrase II (HCA II), this enzyme has a tertiary structure and 29 kD polypeptide, which is the most common isozyme and the fastest. The active site of this enzyme (HCA II) includes a metal ion such as zinic ion, which is a tetrahedral by coordinating a three histidine residues (His119, His96, and His94) and hydroxide ion the forth ligand (H2O263). The most important function of HCA II is the mechanism of conversion carbon dioxide to bicarbonate. The aforementioned work by Bede offers one of the earliest written accounts of the first arrival of the Anglo Saxons but as with his assertions regarding the origins of the settlers, Bede fails to provide an accurate picture of the pace and nature of the Anglo Saxon migration. In the first instance, Bede chronicles the story of Hengist and Horsa, whereby King Vortigern invites Saxons into Britain to help defend against the Pictish raids in the north, but then turn on the Britons and begin to seize land for themselves the first commanders are said to have been the two brothers Hengist and Horsa . When translated from Saxon languages Hengist and Horsa translate back to stallion and mare , pointing towards the story being more a folk tale than an actual historic event. Further to this, Bede based much of his work off Gildas who wrote the earliest insular text available On the Ruin of Britain in around 540, and also accounted for the legendary brothers they sealed its doom by inviting in among them (like wolves into the sheep fold), the fierce and impious Saxons, a race hateful to both God and men, to repel the invasions of the northern nations . • 40. The Procedure Of Language Learning Of The Infants Less than 1 percent of American adults today are proficient in a foreign language that they studied in a U.S. classroom, states Amelia Friedman in The Atlantic. That s noteworthy considering that in 2008 almost all high schools in the country 93 percent offered foreign languages (Friedman). This has resulted in, as Brad Marshall, a teaching fellow of languages and literatures, notes, [the] widespread belief that adults will inevitably have problems and will certainly never become fluent, while children are supposed to pick up languages with ease . However, study after study has shown the procedure of languagelearning of the infants. The essential elements of learning a language lie in your ears and the way you process into the language. Although there is a widespread myth in learning a language children acquire a language much easier than adults do the innate ability of adults language acquisitionare basically as same as that of children s. Adults have a hard time understanding what people are saying in a foreign language. They think they don t know what they are saying because of their lack of vocabulary, but it turns out they cannot even understand a word that they know when they hear the word. However, this phenomena you cannot catch the sound of a foreign language is pretty normal. As the first step of the language acquisition, the infants tune their ears to be perceptual to the language. They have had both negative and positive impacts on society and the economy. The Industrial Revolution by far, has been the most impacting on the world. During the revolution, ingenious inventions helped to shape the revolution and influence modern technology. As well as these inventions, the Factory Act of 1833 was passed, which improved working conditions for children laboring in factories. When it is implemented for metabolomics studies NMR provides several advantages. Firstly, NMR based metabolic profiling can be highly quantitative and reproducible. This is extremely helpful when multivariate analysis are usually performed in metabolomic analysis (Nicholson and Wilson 1989). Furthermore, NMR sensitivity is hardly affected by metabolite pKa or hydrophobicity, which suggests that NMR is an excellent choice for samples in different conditions (Pan and Raftery 2007). • 46. The Dangers Of Air Pollution Eliminate Pollutants To eliminate dust mites, pollens and polluting particles from our daily atmosphere, one solution exists, and it is the air purifier. In addition to its invisibility, all the complexity of this pollution lies in the large number of pollutants of various types. The sources of indoor air pollution are multiple: some building materials, furniture, air, lifestyle of occupants (smoking, etc.), combustion appliances, insufficient ventilation, biocontaminants (house dust mites, etc.), allergens, human activity (cooking, etc.), cleaning products, equipment, etc. There are a few main categories of pollutants. One of these is chemical: building materials, furniture, decorative items, products maintenance and DIY. Air purifiers should also have an extremely quiet night mode that allows you to sleep next to the unit without being disturbed. Fine particles, we talk a lot about them, but once home, we continue to breathe polluted air and it is even more polluted than the outside air, and of a different nature. The most sophisticated air purifiers are therefore installed on the central heating ventilation system. Concerning pollution as well as bacteria, the air purifier is able to filter them also thanks to a HEPA filter. If an air purifier is used, these particles are normally treated by the HEPA filter with a very promising level of retention. The air flow and especially the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate, ie the volume of purified air it is able to deliver) must be adapted to the size of the room to be treated and even ideally the entire home. The activated charcoal filter is mainly used to kill bad odors in your home. If you simply want to protect yourself from dust and pollution, one air purifier it should be enough. There is also pollution that emanates from glues and chemicals contained in furniture, building and decoration materials (such as paint solvents), some cleaning products, etc. An air purifier filter is composed of a layer of very fine fiber, and thanks to its tight weave, it can hold animal hair, fine dust, molds, pesticides, fungi, bacteria, viruses, dust mites, pollens, or even diesel particles. Simon Stockhausen, a teacher at the time, was forced to move from one temporary post to another on average twice a year. Unfortunately in 1932 when he was four years old, Stockhausen s mother Gertrud was committed into a sanatorium. This was likely due to the depression she encountered associated with the instability, poverty, and having three children so close to one another. In 1935 Shortly after his wife became ill, Simon Stockhausen was promoted to head teacher at a small village school located in Altenburg. The newly formed Third Reich led by Adolf Hitler used him in this position to influence the local community by spreading propaganda and organizing fundraisers for the new movement. The two forms are choking and panicking, both of which are huge detriments to high stake tasks. Panicking and choking as defined by Gladwell can be characterized by the root of the obstacle, the resulting inability, and the form of compensation with which a person will be inclined to react. In fact, 95% of the original forests in the United States are now gone (DiCaprio).Personally, I think this is a shocking and eye opening statistic. The statistic really gives you an insight on how much of the natural world humans have used in order to sustain the lifestyles they currently live. However, people cannot continue to use natural resources at the current rate because they won t be able to sustain us for the future. One component that is affecting our resources is climate change. Countries all over the world are experiencing changes in their climates that have caused droughts and conflicts over natural resources, such as water and oil. Additionally, a changing climate will cause healthcare systems all over the world to adapt to treating new diseases (Richardson, et al. 44).
