The Rise Of The Pentecostalism Movement
In this paper I will be discussing the rise of the Pentecostalism movement and briefly how it has
changed the world through its rapid outspreading around the world. Most do not know the great
impact that this movement had on the world. I hope to introduce this movement in this paper and
why it is important to Church History.
Roots of Pentecostalism Pentecostalism has its roots in Wesleyan notions of conversion and the
higher life advocates. Both of these brought out a belief in a second experience that happened after
salvation. They, John Wesley and John Fletcher, called this baptism in the Holy Spirit
. It also has its
origins in the evangelical faith healing movement that was lead by Charles C. Cullis. This
movement focused on healing and the physical well being through miraculous acts. Another was
the early church of Corinth and the Day of Pentecost. The Great Awakening was also apart of the
beginning of this movement through its heartfelt salvation through Jesus Christ. The baptism of the
Holy Ghost streamed out of England through John Wesley s thoughts on entire sanctification.
Another group, Calvinist, who emphasized on a total transformation in their life after conversion.
Through all these influences and divine healing led people to believe that this experience after
conversion that was said to happen was through baptism of the Holy Ghost. Mainly rooted in the
Fourfold Gospel. Another reason this movement took root was because it embodied all the

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Analysis
Obesity is established as one of the leading risk factors for development of both type 2 diabetes
and obstructive sleep Apnea(OSA). Obesity is medically defined as a complex disorder
involving an excessive amount of body fat. Clearly, this isn t just a cosmetic concern. The Body
Mass Index (BMI) numerical range is 30.0 34.9 is consider obese (1) 35.0 39.9 obese (2), finally
40.0 above is extreme obesity (3). When it comes to Obesity it normally does not have just one
underlining issue. Other factors are cardiovascular disease, and hypertension. Most likely a patient
will develop a serious sleeping disorder, one called obstructive sleep apnea(OSA). This causes
breathing to repeatedly stop and start during sleep. The throat muscles intermittently relax and
block the airway during sleeping. Several signs of sleep apnea exist for example; loud snoring,
shorter sleeping duration, poor quality of sleep, high blood pressure, morning headaches, decrease
libido, weight gain, and even death due to lack of air. Polysomnography is medically performed to
evaluate the presence of OSA and its severity.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tons of relevant and recent evidence points to some sort of correlation between obesity and

Ages range greatly from 9 60 years old, sleeping disorder targets all ages ranges. Taking this

The Middle East Peace Process Essay
For too long, the citizens of the Middle East have lived in the midst of death and fear. The hatred
of a few holds the hopes of many hostage. The forces of extremism and terror are attempting to
kill progress and peace by killing the innocent. And this casts a dark shadow over an entire region,
President George W. Bush in his June 24, 2002 address to the nation.
The conflict between Israel and Palestine is just one of the many facets that have shaped modern
day politics in the Middle East. It is a conflict rooted in generations of violence, discrimination and
prejudice that is complicated by a history older than any of the modern day superpowers. Ever
since the creation of the state of Israel by the 1947 UN partition of Palestine ... Show more content

Keeping these thoughts in mind I will investigate some key issues that affect the progress towards
peace in the region including the relationship that exists between the United States and Israel; the
2002 Road Map to Peace and why it failed; and finally the effect of Arafat?s death and the
implications for the future.
The Relationship between Israel and the United States. The idea of ?special relationships? between
two countries has been used throughout history to describe the relations between the United States
and various other countries. Winston Churchill popularized the term in his ?Iron Curtain? speech in
1946, describing the ties between the United States and Great Britain as a ?special relationship.?
Any number of diplomatic alliances and relationships could be considered a special relationship;
however politicians and scholars tend to agree that the most special relationship in the international
system is the one that exists between the United States and Israel. President Jimmy Carter once
noted that ?we have a special relationship with Israel. It?s absolutely crucial that no one in our
country or around the world ever doubt that our number one commitment in the Middle East is to
protect the right of Israel to exist.? The nature of such a

San Joaquin Valley Research Paper
The Central Valley consist of three major counties Modesto, Fresno and Bakersfield. Together
these three counties produce a little over half of the nation s produce. With a population of over
6.5 million people the Central Valley is also consider by Public Policy Institute of California the
fastest growing region of California. With the ever growing populationand growing need for more

issues of the Central Valley s air pollution as well as some possibilities of how the community can

Sources of Air Pollution:
The San Joaquin Valley is such a large agricultural and industrial area that it has many
contributing sources to air pollution. According to the San Joaquin Valley air pollution control
district what causes air pollution or ozone precursor emissions are broken down into two
categories which are stationary and mobile. Stationary are broken into two main sources point and

sources while area sources are sources that individually emit smaller amounts of pollutants. For
point sources these areas can be food production plants or large farming operations such as dairies.

Essay on Abraham Lincoln s Speech in Respect to the Dred Scott Case
Court decisions are very delicate, it s not always about what is morally correct but more
importantly about what is politically correct. It may be hard to side with the law sometimes due to
cases dealing with cruel subjects such as slavery. Although, in times like this judges must maintain
on the right track following what s constitutionally correct. For example in the Dred Scott Case, he
obviously lost his case since at the time slavery was legal. Many people, said it was erroneous,
mistaken, and fallacious, but put the pieces together, it was written on the constitution that slavery
was allowed. Of course, bondage is and wasn t virtuous but did the court really make the wrong
decision? In respect to this situation Abraham Lincoln made a speech to his fellow citizens.
Abraham Lincoln did not agree. During his speech he said But we think the Dred Scott decision
is erroneous. We know the court that made it, has often over ruled its own decisions, and we shall
do what we can to have it to over rule this.
President Lincoln believed all should have an equal chance, something in which of course slavery
contradicted. He made it clear that slavery was a very dangerous and disturbing element.
Seemingly, Abraham Lincoln was bothered by this case according to some direct quotes from his
speech. The Republicans inculcate, with whatever of

Muromachi Period Essay
The Muromachi style of Zen Buddhism has influence art and design ever since it s beginning in the
14th century. Although it was influenced by the Chinese styles at a parallel time, they both are still
influential and noticed in today s world.
For years Japanese Ink Painting continued to be consistent with a basis on nature, and simplicity.
Was the beginning of Minimalism in Japan? Was it intentional? The open composition of space
and content on paper is a key of today s design. The simplicity of monochromatic work is still
appreciated in almost every art form.
This is a contrast to the Renaissance that occurred during the same time period. There was never
work similar in Europe, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The monochromatic tones, and vivid, thick lines provide a lot of contrast. It uses washed tints for
more texture on the rock surfaces and shadowed areas, and leaves the paper clean where snow
and space are depicted. The planar view divides the foreground, while the jolt in the cliffs split the
entire upper half of the painting. This provides a stability and balance to the work.
As in most works of this time, he is expressing the simplicity and serenity of the landscape, which
is a parallel to the intended lifestyle of a monk. It is very particular to their culture in the Zen
Buddhism was an important theory of that time. Although, some aspects of the work might be
claimed to have been influenced by the Chinese practices of the same genre.
Ni Zan , and Yuan painter from China, created the Rongxi Studio painting, the most famous
piece of his time. The monochromatic ink painting was very personalized to Ni Zan s self. He
was a very carefree individual. He was very careless in his depiction of his homeland s natural
scenery. Contrary to styles of that time, he was not intending on satisfying any viewer. He solely
wanted to paint, and the brush, ink, and paper were free in his hands.
The Rongxi Studio painting was done in 1372, and is a hanging scroll. Its height is around 30 ,

Safety Measures For A System Administrator
Introduction
There may be some individuals who do not consider the role of system administrator as dangerous.
While the role may not possess the types of dangers other jobs have, such as offshore drilling, or
refinery work, there are safety measures that must be considered. In addition to safety
considerations, a well rounded system administrator must understand the steps necessary for
effective troubleshooting. Effective troubleshooting, and safety considerations go hand in hand for
system administrators.
Safety Measures for System Administrators
The term safety is most commonly associated with physical safety. While this is true, system
administrators must consider other types of safety measures that include both logical safety, and
physical safety. Logical safety is arguably one of the most important factors for a system
administrator to consider.
Logical safety includes the security of the systems an administrator is responsible for. This type of
safety consideration includes well defined access control policies, periodic review of access, and
the secure configuration of workstations and servers. When a system administrator ensures these
types of controls are in place, the safety and security of company systems has a reasonable level of
assurance. In addition, there are actual physical safety measures that must be considered (Frisch,
1995).
Safety Measures for Electronics
System administrators must work with electronics as a part of their day to day job responsibilities.

Who Is Virgil A Hero Or A Traitor
Rome wasn t built in a day, and neither were the accounts of history that glorify Roman Empire.
Virgil crafts a very carefully worded and cautiously selected version of Roman history, that
glorifies Rome and its deeds, atrocities and achievements alike. The catalogue of events, functions
as a version of history or propaganda that supports and reveres the Roman Empire. The retelling
starts with humble beginnings, ... licked her wolf pups into shape with a mother s tongue (Virgil
1062). It then follows with the beginnings of Romeas a city, then as a republic and finally as a fierce
empire. Virgil traces an idyllic history of Rome, that glosses over any details that do not bring
glory to the empire, and in doing so creates a propagandic version of events.... Show more content

He forged the homes of hell, the high Gates of Death and the torments of the doomed, with you,
Catiline, dangling from a beetling crag, (Virgil 1063). Catiline, a traitor to Rome, tried to
overthrow the Roman Republic in the first century B.C.E., and for his actions against Rome, he
is sent to one of the worst parts of hell, and is depicted as dangling from a ledge above the Furies
open mouths, which could imply the torture of actually being eaten alive, or simply waiting for
the Furies to deliver a punishment or torture. Either way, it is definitively not a desired fate.
Conversely, Cato, a defender of the Roman Republic, who opposed to Julius Caesar, is heiled as
a virtuous man, and sent to the heaven of the Roman afterlife. Cato is said to be, set apart, the
virtuous souls, with Cato giving laws (Virgil 1063). The dichotomy of the story of Cato and
Catiline, illustrates a clear political message; those who support Rome are rewarded and those who

Clueless And Emma Analysis
So I watched both Clueless and Aisha (Bollywood) and tried to write up the connection I felt
watching both the movies; but while searching for the movie to watch I came up with yet another
interesting fact that these both are the modern version of Emma (by Jane Austen). Well I have not
gone through Emmabut then researched about the characters in it and what are its connection with
these two movies ( Clueless and Aisha ) and up with the brief summary.
Clueless (1995) stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz. Like Emma, she is rich and lives
with her single father. Here she is only 15 and already has her own car and spends most of her
time with her best friend, Dionne. Aisha (2010) staring Sonam Kapoor as Aisha, which is
Bollywood s version of a modern Emma. Set in the high society of Delhi, it follows Aisha in her
misguided matchmaking attempts. The Mr. Knightley character is played by her ex step
brother, Josh, played by Paul Rudd. Clueless loosely follows a lot of Emma s plotlines. Like
Emma and Cher, Aisha is a spoiled rich girl who means well but is really clueless. This one
follows the book a little more closely than Clueless did and includes more characters, like the
John Knightley and Jane Fairfax (Aarti). Cher hooks up two of her teachers and from there gets it
into her head to be a matchmaker. She decides to give this version s Harriet Smith, new girl Tai
(Brittany Murphy), a makeover and to hook her up with Elton. She convinces Tai that her crush,

African Americans During Reconstruction Essay
African American Empowerment During Reconstruction (1863 1877) In the years 1863 1877,
blacks were able to make their first successful efforts in terms of empowerment, creating the
foundation for future African American movements. During reconstruction, African Americans,
through collaboration and politics, began to work at equal rights. By empowering themselves
politically, building communities and fighting against the lynching efforts of the KKK and other
anti black terrorist groups, African Americans began a movement to combat racism in the United
States. During reconstruction from 1863 1977, African Americans were able to lower the
political barrier American society had on them, previously being restricted from voting. Edmund

Manifestation of Communism
Marx, K. F. Engels Bourgeois and proletarians
Tom Considine
Marx, K. F. Engels (1972 [1848], p.1) said The history of all hitherto existing society is the
history of class struggles. (Marx, K. F. Engels 1972 [1848], p.1) This is the opening text from
Marx and it is the theme of the rest of the chapter. Marx writes of the oppression of the proletarians
and how the capitalist bourgeoisie have commodified them. He describes his disapproval for the
capitalists stating that there is revolt from the proletariats due to the exploitation that was taking
place, this would be the same for any capitalist society. Throughout the text there is the overriding
idea that society would benefit with equality and public ownership (socialism). ... Show more

Marx is trying to convey that capitalism is a poor way for a society to operate however i can see that
this method would be more efficient and competitive, thus increasing the productivity of the
economy.
Marx s idea is that property should be publicly owned, individuals should cooperate, production
is social and everything is shared equally. Marx, K. F. Engels (1972 [1848], p.42) said Of all the
classes that stand face to face with the Bourgeois today, the proletariat alone is a really
revolutionary class (Marx, K. F. Engels 1972 [1848], p.42). Marx believes this is because the
laborers where the individuals who created socialism because they wanted to fight for their
rights and become equal. They succeeded because they were the majority and therefore had a
power over the Bourgeois because with the labour there would be no capitalism. The first reason
I disagree with socialism is because price signals become distorted or absent, the market price for
goods and services cannot be rationally allocated if the individuals aren t earning income in a free
market. If all individuals receive an equal income and everything is shared then what is the
incentive to work harder? If there is no incentive to earn a higher wage then individuals may be less
motivated. Decreased motivation means that there will be a decrease in efficiency and thus a
decrease in production, therefore the economy will suffer. The last argument against socialism is
that it the advancement of

Baseball And The Game Of Baseball
Baseball to most it just a simple game that involves one just throwing a ball, another hitting it, and
then another catching it, but it s much more than that. The ability to hit a baseball three hundred
plus feet, that s coming at you at speeds greater than 85 mph, is hard to attain. Now imagine trying
to catch a ball that s coming at the same speeds, not so easy now right? Apart from the physical
abilities needed to play, the mental part of the gameis also important. The game of baseballis similar
to life if you re not prepared physically and mentally to go about your business you won t succeed.
I ve been playing baseball since I let out my first cries. For me baseball is a battleground. The
side that is better prepared and executes well is the one who usually wins. Just like how you don
t go out to war without any training, the same goes for baseball you don t go and just play
baseball. Practice in general is important for anything that you do; it allows you to experience a
situation during a time where it s not important. I can t recall a time where I didn t practice and
performed during a game. Baseball has taught me that if I want to succeed you have to prepare
yourself. It doesn t just happen. In terms of school, imagine going to take an exam without sort of
studying you won t do so well. Apart from practice, which prepares you physically, if you re not
mentally right, you won t do so well.

Deductive Approach In Research Approach
Research Approach
Every researcher adopts a specific approach for his research study, which is very important step
in every research. There are mainly two research approaches, inductive and deductive by looking
to the research onion of Saunders et al (2009, p. 108). In inductive approach, researchers use their
findings for the generation of theory. Theory is a term which can be use in different ways and in
qualitative research researcher use this term about the explanation of observations. Inductive
approach allows the researcher in previous literature and finds the new research question, where he
comes up with the new theory after the analyzing. While deductive studies, use theory deductively
and places it in the very beginning of the study. With the objective of testing or verifying a theory
rather than developing it, state hypothesis and collects data to test it. Reflect on the confirmation
or disconfirmation of the theory by the results (Creswell, 2009, p. 10 14) and our choice for

a skyscraper. The date is October 12th, 1985 and tonight a comedian died in New York. A hero is
defined as a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble

Limited Liability
Discussion Assignment
You own and operate a small store. Currently, you are a single proprietor.
What kinds of risks and liabilities are you facing?
When a business is run as a single proprietor means that the owner is solely responsible and liable
for the actions of the company. The risk and the liability are that the personal assets such as
house, car, land, or bank savings are also part of the business. There is no legal separation of the
assets between the business and the owner of the business. For example, if the single proprietor
defaults on a bank loan or there is an accident on one of the employees, the owner is the sole
responsible. The bank can seize and liquidate the personal assets for the debts. In addition, the
employee who suffered injury for in a work related accident can sue and held the owner liable. The

incorporation depending on the type of business and goals. The most common are the Limited

When the sole proprietor incorporates, it gives advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is
that the owner can sales shares to investors and raise capital. Moreover, with an incorporated
business the owner and the employees can benefit from health insurance, workers compensation,
insurance against accidents, etc. Another advantage of incorporating the business is that it

monitoring troops, but also with human rights monitoring, protecting and delivering humanitarian
aid, demobilizing and retraining troops, reforming police forces, protecting civilians, reforming
legal systems, assisting in economic reconstruction, and sometimes administering the entire state
until a new government can take over. In other words, after civil wars, peacekeepers are often
charged not only with military monitoring duties, but with reforming the essential institutions of the
state (Peacekeeping, Peace Enforcement, and UN Reform Lise MorjГ© Howard, P 1 2). There
are three ways that peacekeepers are able to use their power in order to succeed. These three
ways include coercion, inducement, and persuasion. Coercion involves a display of power, like
swagger, to wield off attacks. Troops use swagger in several scenarios. One of the most common
times the use of swagger will occur is during policing, where troops will patrol the area. Since one
of the main doctrines of peacekeeping involves not using force, this type of coercion has been
deemed useful. Even though the majority of the time

Gifted Hands Reflection
The portrayal of Dr. Ben Carson s life in Gifted Hands was truly inspirational and motivational.
Through the depiction of his life, we realize that a person can still thrive despite encountering
numerous adversaries. In the first part of the film, the audience saw a younger Ben, a kid who
was hot tempered and quite gullible, so far from who he is now. As a child, Ben was easily
influenced and pressured by his friends he succumbed to peer pressure as any adolescents would.
Those specific attributes were manifested when Ben had had enough of his classmates bullyingand
it became more evident when he became friends with a reckless and corrupt boy from his new
school. Although Ben possesses the aforementioned negative traits, we also discovered some
outstanding traits of his. Gifted Hands depicted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

know that he hasn t always been like that. Ben came from a broken family since his father broke

brother. Besides the fact that he comes from a broken family, he is also a man of color. At that
certain part of history, it is common to belittle and discriminate people belonging to the black
ethnicity, which makes Ben s life tougher and more arduous. In addition to the aforementioned
issues Ben faced, we learned that he was having a difficult time reading which explains his
unsatisfactory grades and a little later it was also revealed that his mother also has a learning

Pathogens Affecting The American Honey Bee
Fungi are pathogens considered to have a serious impact on honey bees health and mortality by
causing diseases. Nosemosis is one of the most dangerous diseases affecting the adult honey bee by
infecting epithelial cells coating the midgut. This disease is caused by Nosema apis and Nosema
ceranae which are intracellular microsporidian parasites from genus of Nosema. Studies point out
that transportation of honey bees, infected beekeepingmaterials, and practices of some beekeeping
migration are factors of Nosema s distribution. In addition, it has been demonstrated that some
vectors may carry Nosema spores. For example, it has been found that the regurgitated pellets of
the migratory bee eating bird Merops apiaster contained infective Nosema spores.... Show more

survival probability in 10, 20 and 30 months favoring low BMI 25 kg/m2.
These results are consistent with many previous studies.
Rodriguez et al. [9] found PC mortality rates to be significantly higher among obese men.
Efstathiou et al. [10] reported greater baseline BMI is independently associated with higher PC
specific mortality in men with locally advanced PC. According to Gong et al.
[11], obesity at the time of diagnosis was associated with increased risks of PC metastasis and
death. In a prospective cohort study on 5313 men who underwent radical prostatectomy,
Siddiqui et al. [12] demonstrated worse clinical and pathologic features in patients with a higher
BMI. There are additional studies concluding the same results [13 16].
On the other hand, our results contradict some studies that reported better effects of obesity on PC.
A retrospective study was conducted of 55 patients who were diagnosed with castration resistant

Malic Acid Vs Inorganic Acid
An organic compound with acidic properties is called an organic acid. An inorganic acid or
mineral acid is an acid derived from one or more inorganic compounds. The reason that organic
acids are weaker than mineral acids is that organic acids do not separate completely in water,
whereas strong mineral acidsdo separate completely in water. Organic acids do not react with
metals. Harsh mineral acids on the other hand react forcefully with metals. Inorganic acids are
derived from inorganic compounds and mineral sources, while organic acids have a biological
origin. Mineral acids do not contain carbon and organic acids do contain carbon. Uric acidis an
example of mineral acids. Uric acid is soluble in water and is a hetero cyclic compound which is
composed of the elements: carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. A real world example in
which uric acid is used is that uric and ascorbic acid in the human body provide over half of the
antioxidant capacity in the bloodstream which means it is very important in our lives. Oxalic
acid is another example of an inorganic acid. Oxalic acid is a colorless crystalline solid that
dissolves in water and gives a colorless solution. A real world application of oxalic acid is cleaning
and bleaching agent, and is very effective in removing rust.
Malic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that is made by all living organisms. It has a clean, mellow,
smooth, persistent sourness, so it can be used to enhance flavor and blending abilities. It
contributes to the sour taste of fruits and can also be used as a food additive. It is used for
alcoholic apple ciders to maintain a sharp taste. In wines, the malolactic fermentation improves
the flavor of the wine. It is also used in acne creams and moisturizers to remove dead skin cells
and remove acne. Citric acid has a sour taste and is greatly present in fruits such as oranges. It is
also a popular ingredient in most types of candy, especially in sour candies. It is a weak organic
acid and is used as a safe cleaning product. Formic acid is a colorless liquid with a highly pungent,
penetrating odor at room temperature. Interestingly, it can be found in the venom of ants. Lactic
acid is a well known acid. It is produced from pyruvate via the enzyme

Civil Engineer Responsibilities
The responsibilities of professional civil engineers
1.0Introduction
Civil engineers play a massive role in building society as we know it they are responsible for our
quality of life. Civil engineers plan, design, maintain and construct infrastructure such as railways,
dams and water systems. This report will touch upon a few of the important day to day
responsibilities that civil engineers face and highlight the importance of these responsibilities. This
report will also mention a few of the key attributes of being a professional civil engineer taken from
the ICE (institute of civil engineers). Other attributes that haven t been mentioned in the report
include: a technical and practical application of engineering, independent responsibilities and
independent judgement, professional commitment, interpersonal skills and communication and
commercial ability.
2.0Management and leadership
Management and leadership is a key attribute for being a civil engineer. Civil engineers face many
difficulties in their job which require advanced problem solving skills. This is Especially the
case on harder projects a lot of the time you will need help and ideas from your peers to get the
work done and also to check over the work once finished. Part of problem solving is working
effectively with a team around you and all working together and contributing to getting the job
done. Another important part of management is time keeping and making sure that everyone in
your team is keeping to their individual deadlines. A further skill to managing your team is to
make sure everyone is on the right job and everyone is clear on what it is they have to do. This
also means making sure your team are communicating sufficiently this is the key to your success
as a leader. All these skills within management and leadership are vital skills necessary for a
professional civil engineer.
3.0Health and safety
Health and safety is extremely important for civil engineers. There were 43 deaths in 2015/2016
from the construction sector. Fortunately, the number of fatal injuries in the uk has decreased
dramatically in recent years but there is still an alarming number of injuries to workers. In 2015 the
HSE (health and safety executive) replaced

Plane Crash Lab Report
During investigating this plane crash, the materials found at the site were: carbon, hydrogen,
nitrogen, and oxygen. In order to identify the victims and what happened, I used empirical and
molecular formulas. Empirical formula is a formula with the lowest whole number ratio of elements
present in a compound. Molecular formula indicates the actual number of atoms of each element
presented in a compound. First, I calculated the empirical formula by using the percentages of the
compound analysis for each passenger. I calculated this by turning an element s percentage into a
number out of one hundred and then multiplying it by the molar mass to get the number of mols in
each element. After, I divided all elements by the lowest number in order... Show more content on

The chemical analysis of 75.42% carbon, 6.63% hydrogen, 8.38% nitrogen, and 9.57% oxygen
leads to an empirical formula of C21H22N2O2 [see binder paper for work]. C21H22N2O2 has a
mass of 334.45 g, which matches with the molar mass of the molecular formula. Base on this
similarity and the description, I can conclude that this substance is Strychnine. Strychnine is a rat
poison that is highly toxic to humans. When looking for the passenger carrying poison, I looked
for a person who shows resentment towards someone else on the plane. Both Miley Cyrus and
Selena Gomez carried this substance with them and also happen to be enemies. Friends and
family from the interview stated that Selena Gomez is in a long and intense feud with Miley
Cyrus. However, according to her Twitter, Selena knew that Miley would be on the same flight. In
addition, she also sent a text message before the flight saying: I h8 this grl. Its about 2 b over. This
text message and the evidences on Twitter reveals that Selena had brought this rat poison with the
intention of murdering Miley Cyrus her most hated enemy. The intention of a planned murder is
also shown through the fact that this compound was found in Selena s pocket. In all, I conclude
that Selena Gomez is the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Oral Communication
Section A
A1)
Communication is sharing our feelings, experiences, thoughts, suggestions, feedback and etc. So
usually before communicating with another person, we tend to think of how to speak, what to
speak, when to speak and which channel I should adopt to before communicating.
The sender is the person who sends the message. Let s take an example for this case; two people
are communicating between each other. The sender is Amy and the receiver is Pond. Amy will
send the message, which is the information she would like for Pond to know. She will then encode
her message, which is transforming her message which can be transformed into written words or
verbal communication. Then, Amy must choose a channel of communication which is also known
as the manner in which the message ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages for oral communication includes;
saves valuable time, saves cost, more powerful and effective, able to get immediate feedback and
correction of errors. The disadvantages of oral communication include; no record of what has been
spoken, probability of omitting the key point (main subject) and confused speech.
Oral communication saves time in cases of situation where an immediate action is required to be
taken. Also, if the management s work load is high, they d rather want to complete their tasks by
using oral instructions. When you are communicating verbally, you do not require any paper, pen,
stamp or a computer. Oral communications tend to persuade and control the people we are talking
to. Therefore, management often prefers to communicate to their staff by the means of oral
communication. Moving on to the fourth point, the speaker can get almost an immediate feedback
on whether the feedback is negative or positive for the speaker. This implies that the receiver
clearly understood what the speaker meant and gives a high possibility for

Summary Of Clean Sweep By Joan Buhel
In the non fiction short story, Clean Sweep by Joan Bauer, Bauer presents a story about a 16
year old girl named Katie and her life in the family business, Clean Sweep. Bauer also tells about
the conflicts the people around her have. For instance, the first conflict that happens to Katie is her
family versus survival after her father dies and they have to sort out all of his papers because they
received no insurance from his death. The second conflictthat arises in the story to Katie is Katie
versus her brother when he doesn t want to work and she has to take on his job and her job. The
third conflict that was presented to Katie in the story is Katie versus Mrs.Leonardo when Mrs.
Leonardo begins getting mad because Katie keeps suggesting the different things she should do
with the items she has in her attic. The fourth conflict that occurs in the story is Katie versus
herself when she gets reminded of her father s death. The fifth and last affair in the story is
Mrs.Leonardo versus her sister, which is when Mrs.Leonardo realizes she never gave her sister the
book she asked for when her mother died.
In the first conflict, Katie has an external conflict, character vs. fate/luck, where Kate and her family
have to deal with her father s death. When Mrs.Leonardo says she won t throw away her IRS tax
forms dating to 1955, Katie begins reminiscing memories of her dad before he died because she
and her family had to sort through all his documents, received no insurance(since he was behind
on paying his life insurance premiums), and they found it very difficult to stay on their feet.
This was when her mother decided to create the new family business, Clean Sweep. Although it
was a family business, Katie was the main person working in the family. It is extremely hard for
Katie to do the work of several people when she has yet to fully digest her father s death. Katie feels
like she is overworked and wishes her mother had another business so she wouldn t be so
overworked all the time.
In the second conflict, Katie faces an external conflict with her brother because he doesn t work as
much as she does and she considers it unfair. Benjamin is allergic to dust, is a hypochondriac, and
Katie considers him a devoted

Antonio Bernini Research Paper
There were two Italian artists in two different time periods but artistic styles paralleled one another,
Gian Lorenzo Bernini of the Baroque movement and Antonio Canova of the Neoclassicism
movement.
Gian Lorenzo Bernini was a Baroque sculptor and created Apollo and Daphne (c. 1622 25) that
displayed in Rome s Villa Borghese. Made of Carrera marble, and is 243 cm and 96 inches
(Bernini). It s a mythological story of the God Apollo and his pursuit of Daphne but she, was an

Cupid revived a lifeless Psyche with a kiss. The audience can view the design from several angles
(Neoclassicism, Romanticism, and Realism, 2015). Made of marble, Cupid and Psyche is 168 cm

home. (MITLibraries DOME).
Canova s Cupid and Psyche depicted the image of two lovers in an embrace. Although this is
more in line with the Rococo style, the emotion, and real love between a man and a woman
displayed and detailed by Psyche s arms around Cupid s head and Cupid s arms around Psyche
covering her breasts.
Audiences praised Bernini for his attention to detail, carving pieces to look life like. Apollo and
Daphne s expressive faces and bodies were original and Apollo s love for Daphne and his
tenacity to keep pursuing her even though he knew she didn t feel the same. Canova had the
ability to capture a dramatic moment in Cupid and Psyche s embrace as well as the love they had
for one another, the determination to go whatever it took as long as they were together shows

Reality Pans Labyrinth Essay
Perception alters reality pans labyrinth. The film El Laberinto del Fauno by Guillermo del Toro
is constantly contrasting the fantasy world with the harsh world of reality. These light hearted
scenes represent the joyful, free Spain that could exist with the fall of fascism, whilst the world of
reality with its brutal nature represents the fascist nation of Spain. As the film nears its
conclusion, the two worlds begin to merge, revealing that the type of world that may be present in
the future differs for each person depending on how they perceive the events and world around
them. The first instance in which the alteration of form to suit views in the film is the
transformation of the mantid transforms into a fairy, to suit the needs of what Ophelia views it to

As Ophelia decides to refuse the fauns request and walk away, captain Vidal enters the centre of
the labyrinth, revealing that he is not capable of seeing the faun, as he heads towards Ofelia
without question. This yet again shows how those who cannot perceive Spain as being free in
the future are incapable of seeing the fantasy aspects of the film, representing the free Spain of
the future. This is a key scene as Vidal himself is the embodiment of fascism, which explains
why he cannot see Spain as being free, due to the fact that freedom and fascism cannot be
symbiotic, as the rise in one will always result in the fall of another. This is portrayed through the
use of a POV shot, from Vidal s perspective, showing Ofelia talking to no one, making her appear
to look mad. This emphasises the fact that those who couldn t see Spain as being a free country,
believed those who fought for it to be insane. By doing this Del Toro confirms the fact that only
those who believe in the fantasy world that is a free Spain are able to notice

Battle of Vimy Ridge
Many countries have tried but failed to capture this area. Both French and British armies tired
but failed the Germans were too strong. This area was known as Vimy Ridge, which has many
high hills and was located in France. The Germans had captured this area since September 1914,
the Germans started to build artillery proof bunkers and trenches. Germanys had the advantage in
every battle; Germanys had their bases on top of the long hills. Which lead them to look down
on their enemies, which was easier for Germanys to kill their target. After countries failing to
capture Vimy Ridge, Canada decided they were going to attempt to fight for Vimy Ridge. For the
first time Britain asked for generals to lead Canada to victory for the battle of Vimy Ridge. Sir
Julian Byng and Major Arthur Currie were asked to lead the Canadian Military to win the battle
of Vimy Ridge. After months of practicing a strategy Canada was ready. April 1917, Canada went
to battle with Germany for Vimy Ridge. This became one of the most devastating battles В¬in
Canadian history. Canadians should remember that Vimy Ridge was not their triumph alone.
British artillery and the elite 51st Highland Division helped make victory possible (Desmond
Morton, Significance of Vimy Ridge). Vimy Ridge is considered a defining moment in Canadian
history because, it was Canada s first time using a general to plan tactics and strategy s, Canada

Salads my not be your best friend when counting calories. In the video there were two salads
utilized as examples from Chili s. One was the quesadilla explosion and the other a grilled
chicken salad. After an in depth review of the salads it is frightening how many calories can be
hidden in salads. The quesadilla explosion saladhad 1360 calories, 88 grams fat, 29 grams of
saturated fat, and 3000 mg of sodium. On the other hand the grilled chicken salad contained only
430 calories. It is very important to consider key words when selecting a salad from a menu. Stay
away from fried or crispy as descriptions. While avocado and nuts are healthy, they are high in
calories. Other items found on salads that pack on the calories include cheese and

Examples Of Silence In Fahrenheit 451
Montag lives in a selfish society where everyone thinks solely about themselves. When Montag
says this is the age of the disposable tissue, he is not really referencing the handkerchief someone
would blow their nose with. He is enlightening the reader on how people in his society only
utilize other people for the goods and services they contribute. Someone in his society would be
friends with another person merely because they could benefit them in some way. An example
from the book that would prove he is correct is when Mildred uses Montag for the money he is
able to provide her with. When he threatens to quit his job, she leaves him and calls the fire
department exposing his secret stash of books. He is implying that this is an unacceptable way of
life. Montag used to act this way and think nothing of it. Then he met Clarisse and she... Show more

Being alone in a silent room with only my thoughts makes me feel uncomfortable. My mind has
free roam in silence to go wherever it wants. I never truly have silence because I fill it with other
things. The things vary, from homework to music on my speaker, to Netflix on my TV. It has
become hard for me to complete simple household tasks without some sound to fill my brain. I
have been taught since I was young that silence is bad, it s awkward, it s not desirable. Filling
my time with things to do is a much better use of the limited time I am allowed on this earth. I
think this is because my phone is always there with me, buzzing, ringing, chirping, and pinging.
It doesn t allow silence to creep its way in. It keeps me engaged all the time leaving no time left
for me. I see that my mom enjoys silence and so does my older sister, but somehow I do not. I
see what my phone does but somehow I am addicted. It s worse than a drug because I can not go
without it. It has changed the lives of people in my generation and there is no going back.
Technology ruined silence and will ruin our

Second Industrial Revolution Essay
An Industrial Revolution is the change in social and economic organization that resulted from the
replacement of the hand tools with machines and from the development of large scale industrial
production (Danzer R50). The Second Industrial Revolution happened nearly one hundred years
later after the First Industrial Revolutionin England during the 1760s (Fagnilli 7). The Second
Industrial Revolution was the cause of new inventions, government support for business, common
natural resources, and increasing population (Fagnilli 7). The Industrial Revolution in the United

Racism In The Power Of One By Bryce Courtenay
Uniting the Divided
Racism can be a uniting and dividing factor; whether united in hatred or united in suffering. One
may believe they are justified in their actions, but that belief is biased to each person and is
irrelevant to others. Hatred can unite as strongly if not more so than fighting for good ; one s
purpose in life is unclear and because good is not in human nature, those blurred lines allow
selfish people to rise and lead among the rest. In The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay, cruelty
functions as a method to amplify racism, and in order to reach the power of one, one must lose all
prejudice.
When there is cruelty and racism in one s mind, they are not only unable to accept themselves,
but it limits their ability to obtain the power of one. The power of one is that one person, and
they alone, are comfortable in a state of simply being; they have innermost awareness that
allows infinite possibilities for them because their outlook on life goes from within out into the
world. Captain Smit is cruel in nature, as well as more racist than most people today, but unlike
characters like Borman, he sees those of color as people; allowing Smit to be seen as a character
that could possibly reach the power of one. The reader is able to respect Smit later in the book
because he learned, like other characters, that racism is not productive or deserved and eventually
used his cruelty to avenge Geel Piet s death. This was completely justified, and could be argued as

Doppelgänger In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Doppelgänger is a German phrase from the mid nineteenth century meaning mirror image, which
correlates to the conception that two individuals are a living double. Thousands of years ago,
individuals considered an ancient widespread belief of spiritual doubles to be a sign of impending
death. This was primarily due to the lack of scientific knowledge and study, which lead society to
gain faith in paranormal activities. Those cases of doppelgängerare referred to as, evil twin
(Ancient Origin 5) which means that the identical other may seem as a favorable shadow, but in
reality, is a malevolent and hostile being. Furthermore, these cases are considered works of fiction,
where people experience actual scenarios of meeting their sinister... Show more content on

He is left alone and is infuriated because of the abandonment he endures from his creator, the
very minute he is born. Frankenstein chooses to shun him because he is immensely disgusted by
its physical appearance. For example, this is shown by the resentment the creature shows when
he states, ...Yet you, my creator, detest and spurn me... (Shelley 111) In addition, the disfigured
beast also portrays the obsessive behavior of ambition, which makes him mentally identical to
his maker, against whom he seeks revenge. However, his objective is mainly focused on finding
his master and making him suffer for the unethical acts that he has committed. Eventually he
meets his creator and demands him to create a female mate, someone who he can relate to and
share the similar grotesque persona with. Temporarily he receives assurance upon his request,
but later Frankenstein reneges on his vow. This causes the creature to threaten his creator and
swear that he will exact revenge upon him and his family. Given the fact that William has
already been murdered and Justine was framed for it, Frankenstein cannot ignore the powerful
threat. The wretch is an incredible mastermind when it comes to committing murder because he
flees multiple times and successfully manages to avoid leaving any evidence behind. His
passion to destroy his creator blinds him while he takes the lives of the innocent. This is proven
when step by step, he takes away all the members with whom his maker shares a close bond.
Soon, the creature murders Henry Clerval, Frankenstein s dearest childhood friend and promises
him, I will be with you on your wedding night. (Shelley 206) These concepts support how the
scientist provokes his creation to hatred and his family to sadness with his negligence, due to his
selfish, misguided ambition to prioritize his research before his loved

Analysis Of George Bernard Shaw Declares s There Is No...
George Bernard Shaw declares there is no love sincerer than the love of food. However, with the
love of food, there generally appear desires for an accommodation of a satisfying environment for
further appreciation of the food. For those seeking such sorts, Harry s, a locally owned restaurant in
Moss Bluff, deserves recommendation on account of the comfortable atmosphere, pleasant food
served, and the friendly staff. The restaurant building rests in the same concrete lot as a Five
Star Quick Stop convenience store off of highway 171 of Moss Bluff. To the right of the
convenience store is Joe Miller Road. To the left of Five Star is Harry s and it connects directly
to a casino. The casino and the restaurant are owned by the same people. The white tin like roof
on the building provides a contrast to three maroon signs separated by two green signs propped
adjacent to them, capturing the attention of those passing by. Wrapping around the red bricked
restaurant and casino are several yellow lines that fill with a variety of vehicles. Four blacked out
windows situated directly under the large maroon sign displaying Harry s Restaurant in a creamy
white font decorate the building s face. Approximately two feet of bricks separate the windows and
the black glass door entrance. Upon entering the restaurant stands a brown booth on the left. From
behind the booth a rather youthful and welcoming female greets guests walking in through the
glass doors. Despite the somewhat tight

Social Causes Of The French Revolution
The French Revolution was an event that would rattle France s Bourbon monarchy and their
neighboring royal families of Europe. Stemming from multiple causes such as the lack of food and
other necessities, a growing social inequality in the face of the Enlightenment, and economic
decline, the French Revolution bred dissent, notably among the masses in Paris. At the height on
the Revolution, it became as much of a crusade against their fellow countrymen as it was against
their outside enemies. After seizing power, political factions consistently accused each other of
working against the Revolution, and royalist insurrections fueled the disarray.
Leading up to Revolution itself was the growing social inequality. With the centralization of the
French state due to the efforts of French kings such as Louis XIV, French common citizens found
themselves subjected to the will of a nobility that became increasingly hostile to any sort of
concessions. Many families were struggling to make ends meet while seeing those at the top of
society turn a blind eye. Warfare contributed to this as well, notably the Seven Years War in which
France lost much of it s New World territory and the American War of Independence after which
the French came away with little spoils, not nearly enough to make up for the money spent on the
war. With their country on the verge of economic collapse, French prices soared, forcing French
commoners into an increasingly small box. Faced with an increasing

BASEL III AND ABOLITION OF UNIVERSAL BANKING MODEL IMPLICATION FOR
NIGERIAN BANKS Introduction: In the aftermath of the economic recession which pulled
down many global banks and exposed multiple weaknesses in regulation and banking structures,
the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision agreed to new rules on the minimum level (capital
ratio) and composite structure of Banks capital on the 12th of September, 2010. Broadly
speaking, the new rules which are widely referred to as Basel III (and are mainly Basel II plus
new regulations based on lessons from the market crisis), still stipulate a minimum Total Capital
Ratio of 8%. However, in addition to increasing the portion of the 8% requirement that is Core Tier

Nonetheless, it formulates broad supervisory standards and guidelines, and recommends statements
of best practice in the expectation that individual authorities will take steps to implement these
through detailed arrangements statutory or otherwise which are best suited to their own national

one African Country, South Africa. The Basel rules have become widely accepted as minimum
standards in Banking regulation for capital, Banking supervision and risk management, not just in
the 56 member countries of BIS, but globally. However, while the minimum total capital ratio
stipulated by the Basel Committee is 8%, most African Countries have higher minimum capital
ratio requirements as shown in the table in Table One. Nigeria adopts a 10% floor. As Nigeria
still lags in strict implementation of Basel II requirements, the implementation of Basel III would
be even farther away. In an attempt to strengthen Banks buffer levels in the aftermath of the
economic recession, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision agreed to new rules on the
minimum level (capital ratio) and composite structure of what Banks call capital. Broadly

Secret Sorrow Analysis
Do you have a favourite genre for stories? Stories come in all sorts of genres and themes. They
attract different types of audiences because they make connections with some readers. For
example, A Secret Sorrow is more Fantasy, and A Sorrowful Woman is more realistic. Audiences
like me enjoy fantasy stories since we have an interest in the loveconnection to the characters. I
prefer A Secret Sorrow because of fantasy, relatability, and love.
In a secret sorrow, Kai and Faye show an example of a fantasy story. His eyes held her locked in
unrelenting demand Why should I be disappointed? (Page 33, Paragraph 52) Kai presents like a
prince that cares for Faye because these actions are not seen often in the real world. Most males
do not act like him. They are rougher and not understanding. They do not know how to respond
like Kai. Kai responds in a way that makes Faye feel special and wanted. Kai in a way tells Faye
that she is wonderful and he will only love her. This novel is written for the female audience, which
is why Kai is able to speak the way he speaks. Without even knocking he came into her room and
walked over to the bed. She could feel the mattress sag as his weight came down on it. Her heart
was pounding like a sledgehammer, and then his arms came around her and he drew her against
him. Faye, he said quietly, please marry me. (Page 34, Paragraph 73 74). This part of the story can
make the audience fulfill their dream of this romantic scene. The man you

Negative Effects Of Coming Out Gay
The Effects of Coming out Gay
Many negative stereotypes are the cause of homosexuals failing to come out the closet to their
friends, family and loved ones. There are also positive effects to coming out as well but the
negative opinions of some has triumphed across the nation during the last decade. Even though it
may seem that our country has come a long way and accepts homosexuals, we still have a long
way to go. Why do such stereotypes override the good effects of coming out gay? Coming out as a
homosexual improves the quality of life such as making the individual feel confident and happier
within. My own experience will serve as an example on how these things can reduce the
confidence level in someone that wants to be open to friends, family and loved ones.
No one wants to admit that they believe some of the stereotypes that get out regarding
homosexual men. However, it is reality that specific stereotypes regarding gay men has erupted
in our society and becoming more prevalent today than in the past. As I mentioned above, I am
going to take you through step by step when I came out the closet and the effect it had on my life
and my mental stability. One of the common stereotypes is Gay men are promiscuous . I guess it s
hard for some to understand that promiscuity doesn t just favor gay men. This type of stereotype
made me think of what society thought of me and prolonged me coming out. There are others that
state that Gay men are overly dramatic . These types of

14 15). Besides the freedom of opportunity, the freedom of self determination, the ability to decide
your own fate, is shown to be inherent in the American dream. In The Death of a Salesman Biff
determines his own destiny and thereby achieves the American dream. Rather than becoming a
salesman as his father had hoped, Biff decided to work with his hands the lifestyle which he new
he could enjoy. The poem Ellis Island said that the American dream is not achieved with the self
determination of Americans, but rather, it is achieved by the theft of self determination from
Native Americans. The line, When the earth became owned , tells the reader that Americans
only enjoy success because they took America, the land of success, from its original residents,
the Native Americans (Bruchac l. 22). The poem America and I mentions the freedom gained
once people are liberated from constant hunger. It says, For the first time in America, I d cease to
be a slave of the belly. I d be a creator, a giver, a human being (Yezierskal. 16 17). When freed from
the constant need to find food, men can put their efforts towards achieving their dreams. In addition
to showing the relations of freedom to the American dream, the authors gave ideas on how the
American dream is achieved.
The authors showed two factors in successfully realizing the American dream: its method and its

  • 3. The Rise Of The Pentecostalism Movement In this paper I will be discussing the rise of the Pentecostalism movement and briefly how it has changed the world through its rapid outspreading around the world. Most do not know the great impact that this movement had on the world. I hope to introduce this movement in this paper and why it is important to Church History. Roots of Pentecostalism Pentecostalism has its roots in Wesleyan notions of conversion and the higher life advocates. Both of these brought out a belief in a second experience that happened after salvation. They, John Wesley and John Fletcher, called this baptism in the Holy Spirit . It also has its origins in the evangelical faith healing movement that was lead by Charles C. Cullis. This movement focused on healing and the physical well being through miraculous acts. Another was the early church of Corinth and the Day of Pentecost. The Great Awakening was also apart of the beginning of this movement through its heartfelt salvation through Jesus Christ. The baptism of the Holy Ghost streamed out of England through John Wesley s thoughts on entire sanctification. Another group, Calvinist, who emphasized on a total transformation in their life after conversion. Through all these influences and divine healing led people to believe that this experience after conversion that was said to happen was through baptism of the Holy Ghost. Mainly rooted in the Fourfold Gospel. Another reason this movement took root was because it embodied all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The forces of extremism and terror are attempting to kill progress and peace by killing the innocent. And this casts a dark shadow over an entire region, President George W. Bush in his June 24, 2002 address to the nation. The conflict between Israel and Palestine is just one of the many facets that have shaped modern day politics in the Middle East. It is a conflict rooted in generations of violence, discrimination and prejudice that is complicated by a history older than any of the modern day superpowers. The Relationship between Israel and the United States. The idea of ?special relationships? between two countries has been used throughout history to describe the relations between the United States and various other countries. Winston Churchill popularized the term in his ?Iron Curtain? speech in 1946, describing the ties between the United States and Great Britain as a ?special relationship.? Any number of diplomatic alliances and relationships could be considered a special relationship; however politicians and scholars tend to agree that the most special relationship in the international system is the one that exists between the United States and Israel. President Jimmy Carter once noted that ?we have a special relationship with Israel. It?s absolutely crucial that no one in our country or around the world ever doubt that our number one commitment in the Middle East is to protect the right of Israel to exist.? Abraham Lincoln s Speech On The Dred Scott Case Ingrid Ledesma November 21,2014 Constitutional Law Final Draft Period:5 Essay on Abraham Lincoln s Speech in Respect to the Dred Scott Case Court decisions are very delicate, it s not always about what is morally correct but more importantly about what is politically correct. It may be hard to side with the law sometimes due to cases dealing with cruel subjects such as slavery. Although, in times like this judges must maintain on the right track following what s constitutionally correct. For example in the Dred Scott Case, he obviously lost his case since at the time slavery was legal. Many people, said it was erroneous, mistaken, and fallacious, but put the pieces together, it was written on the constitution that slavery was allowed. Of course, bondage is and wasn t virtuous but did the court really make the wrong decision? In respect to this situation Abraham Lincoln made a speech to his fellow citizens. Abraham Lincoln did not agree. During his speech he said But we think the Dred Scott decision is erroneous. We know the court that made it, has often over ruled its own decisions, and we shall do what we can to have it to over rule this. • 10. Safety Measures For A System Administrator Introduction There may be some individuals who do not consider the role of system administrator as dangerous. While the role may not possess the types of dangers other jobs have, such as offshore drilling, or refinery work, there are safety measures that must be considered. In addition to safety considerations, a well rounded system administrator must understand the steps necessary for effective troubleshooting. Effective troubleshooting, and safety considerations go hand in hand for system administrators. Safety Measures for System Administrators The term safety is most commonly associated with physical safety. While this is true, system administrators must consider other types of safety measures that include both logical safety, and physical safety. Logical safety is arguably one of the most important factors for a system administrator to consider. Logical safety includes the security of the systems an administrator is responsible for. This type of safety consideration includes well defined access control policies, periodic review of access, and the secure configuration of workstations and servers. When a system administrator ensures these types of controls are in place, the safety and security of company systems has a reasonable level of assurance. In addition, there are actual physical safety measures that must be considered (Frisch, 1995). Safety Measures for Electronics System administrators must work with electronics as a part of their day to day job responsibilities. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The retelling starts with humble beginnings, ... licked her wolf pups into shape with a mother s tongue (Virgil 1062). • 12. Clueless And Emma Analysis So I watched both Clueless and Aisha (Bollywood) and tried to write up the connection I felt watching both the movies; but while searching for the movie to watch I came up with yet another interesting fact that these both are the modern version of Emma (by Jane Austen). Well I have not gone through Emmabut then researched about the characters in it and what are its connection with these two movies ( Clueless and Aisha ) and up with the brief summary. Clueless (1995) stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz. Like Emma, she is rich and lives with her single father. Here she is only 15 and already has her own car and spends most of her time with her best friend, Dionne. Aisha (2010) staring Sonam Kapoor as Aisha, which is Bollywood s version of a modern Emma. Set in the high society of Delhi, it follows Aisha in her misguided matchmaking attempts. The Mr. Knightley character is played by her ex step brother, Josh, played by Paul Rudd. Clueless loosely follows a lot of Emma s plotlines. Like Emma and Cher, Aisha is a spoiled rich girl who means well but is really clueless. This one follows the book a little more closely than Clueless did and includes more characters, like the John Knightley and Jane Fairfax (Aarti). Cher hooks up two of her teachers and from there gets it into her head to be a matchmaker. She decides to give this version s Harriet Smith, new girl Tai (Brittany Murphy), a makeover and to hook her up with Elton. She convinces Tai that her crush, stoner ... • 14. African Americans During Reconstruction Essay African American Empowerment During Reconstruction (1863 1877) In the years 1863 1877, blacks were able to make their first successful efforts in terms of empowerment, creating the foundation for future African American movements. During reconstruction, African Americans, through collaboration and politics, began to work at equal rights. By empowering themselves politically, building communities and fighting against the lynching efforts of the KKK and other anti black terrorist groups, African Americans began a movement to combat racism in the United States. During reconstruction from 1863 1977, African Americans were able to lower the political barrier American society had on them, previously being restricted from voting. Edmund J. Engels (1972 [1848], p.42) said Of all the classes that stand face to face with the Bourgeois today, the proletariat alone is a really revolutionary class (Marx, K. F. Engels 1972 [1848], p.42). Marx believes this is because the laborers where the individuals who created socialism because they wanted to fight for their rights and become equal. They succeeded because they were the majority and therefore had a power over the Bourgeois because with the labour there would be no capitalism. The first reason I disagree with socialism is because price signals become distorted or absent, the market price for goods and services cannot be rationally allocated if the individuals aren t earning income in a free market. If all individuals receive an equal income and everything is shared then what is the incentive to work harder? If there is no incentive to earn a higher wage then individuals may be less motivated. Decreased motivation means that there will be a decrease in efficiency and thus a decrease in production, therefore the economy will suffer. There are mainly two research approaches, inductive and deductive by looking to the research onion of Saunders et al (2009, p. 108). In inductive approach, researchers use their findings for the generation of theory. Inductive approach allows the researcher in previous literature and finds the new research question, where he comes up with the new theory after the analyzing. The first tactic I will address is peacekeeping. Once the two parties of a conflict have agreed to a truce, peacekeepers will come in to guarantee the implementation of the truce and try to maintain peace. The duty of peacekeepers is not only [to] monitoring troops, but also with human rights monitoring, protecting and delivering humanitarian aid, demobilizing and retraining troops, reforming police forces, protecting civilians, reforming legal systems, assisting in economic reconstruction, and sometimes administering the entire state until a new government can take over. In other words, after civil wars, peacekeepers are often charged not only with military monitoring duties, but with reforming the essential institutions of the state (Peacekeeping, Peace Enforcement, and UN Reform Lise MorjГ© Howard, P 1 2). There are three ways that peacekeepers are able to use their power in order to succeed. These three ways include coercion, inducement, and persuasion. Coercion involves a display of power, like swagger, to wield off attacks. Troops use swagger in several scenarios. One of the most common times the use of swagger will occur is during policing, where troops will patrol the area. • 27. Malic Acid Vs Inorganic Acid An organic compound with acidic properties is called an organic acid. An inorganic acid or mineral acid is an acid derived from one or more inorganic compounds. The reason that organic acids are weaker than mineral acids is that organic acids do not separate completely in water, whereas strong mineral acidsdo separate completely in water. Organic acids do not react with metals. Harsh mineral acids on the other hand react forcefully with metals. Inorganic acids are derived from inorganic compounds and mineral sources, while organic acids have a biological origin. Mineral acids do not contain carbon and organic acids do contain carbon. Uric acidis an example of mineral acids. Uric acid is soluble in water and is a hetero cyclic compound which is composed of the elements: carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. A real world example in which uric acid is used is that uric and ascorbic acid in the human body provide over half of the antioxidant capacity in the bloodstream which means it is very important in our lives. Oxalic acid is another example of an inorganic acid. Oxalic acid is a colorless crystalline solid that dissolves in water and gives a colorless solution. A real world application of oxalic acid is cleaning and bleaching agent, and is very effective in removing rust. Malic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that is made by all living organisms. It has a clean, mellow, smooth, persistent sourness, so it can be used to enhance flavor and blending abilities. It contributes to the sour taste of fruits and can also be used as a food additive. It is used for alcoholic apple ciders to maintain a sharp taste. In wines, the malolactic fermentation improves the flavor of the wine. It is also used in acne creams and moisturizers to remove dead skin cells and remove acne. Citric acid has a sour taste and is greatly present in fruits such as oranges. Although this is more in line with the Rococo style, the emotion, and real love between a man and a woman displayed and detailed by Psyche s arms around Cupid s head and Cupid s arms around Psyche covering her breasts. Audiences praised Bernini for his attention to detail, carving pieces to look life like. Apollo and Daphne s expressive faces and bodies were original and Apollo s love for Daphne and his tenacity to keep pursuing her even though he knew she didn t feel the same. Canova had the ability to capture a dramatic moment in Cupid and Psyche s embrace as well as the love they had for one another, the determination to go whatever it took as long as they were together shows contrast between both ... • 34. Reality Pans Labyrinth Essay Perception alters reality pans labyrinth. The film El Laberinto del Fauno by Guillermo del Toro is constantly contrasting the fantasy world with the harsh world of reality. These light hearted scenes represent the joyful, free Spain that could exist with the fall of fascism, whilst the world of reality with its brutal nature represents the fascist nation of Spain. As the film nears its conclusion, the two worlds begin to merge, revealing that the type of world that may be present in the future differs for each person depending on how they perceive the events and world around them. The first instance in which the alteration of form to suit views in the film is the transformation of the mantid transforms into a fairy, to suit the needs of what Ophelia views it to be. As Ophelia decides to refuse the fauns request and walk away, captain Vidal enters the centre of the labyrinth, revealing that he is not capable of seeing the faun, as he heads towards Ofelia without question. This yet again shows how those who cannot perceive Spain as being free in the future are incapable of seeing the fantasy aspects of the film, representing the free Spain of the future. This is a key scene as Vidal himself is the embodiment of fascism, which explains why he cannot see Spain as being free, due to the fact that freedom and fascism cannot be symbiotic, as the rise in one will always result in the fall of another. This is portrayed through the use of a POV shot, from Vidal s perspective, showing Ofelia talking to no one, making her appear to look mad. This emphasises the fact that those who couldn t see Spain as being a free country, believed those who fought for it to be insane. By doing this Del Toro confirms the fact that only those who believe in the fantasy world that is a free Spain are able to notice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One may believe they are justified in their actions, but that belief is biased to each person and is irrelevant to others. Hatred can unite as strongly if not more so than fighting for good ; one s purpose in life is unclear and because good is not in human nature, those blurred lines allow selfish people to rise and lead among the rest. In The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay, cruelty functions as a method to amplify racism, and in order to reach the power of one, one must lose all prejudice. When there is cruelty and racism in one s mind, they are not only unable to accept themselves, but it limits their ability to obtain the power of one. The power of one is that one person, and they alone, are comfortable in a state of simply being; they have innermost awareness that allows infinite possibilities for them because their outlook on life goes from within out into the world. Captain Smit is cruel in nature, as well as more racist than most people today, but unlike characters like Borman, he sees those of color as people; allowing Smit to be seen as a character that could possibly reach the power of one. Frankenstein chooses to shun him because he is immensely disgusted by its physical appearance. For example, this is shown by the resentment the creature shows when he states, ...Yet you, my creator, detest and spurn me... (Shelley 111) In addition, the disfigured beast also portrays the obsessive behavior of ambition, which makes him mentally identical to his maker, against whom he seeks revenge. However, his objective is mainly focused on finding his master and making him suffer for the unethical acts that he has committed. Eventually he meets his creator and demands him to create a female mate, someone who he can relate to and share the similar grotesque persona with. Temporarily he receives assurance upon his request, but later Frankenstein reneges on his vow. This causes the creature to threaten his creator and swear that he will exact revenge upon him and his family. Given the fact that William has already been murdered and Justine was framed for it, Frankenstein cannot ignore the powerful threat. The wretch is an incredible mastermind when it comes to committing murder because he flees multiple times and successfully manages to avoid leaving any evidence behind. His passion to destroy his creator blinds him while he takes the lives of the innocent. This is proven when step by step, he takes away all the members with whom his maker shares a close bond. • 48. Social Causes Of The French Revolution The French Revolution was an event that would rattle France s Bourbon monarchy and their neighboring royal families of Europe. Stemming from multiple causes such as the lack of food and other necessities, a growing social inequality in the face of the Enlightenment, and economic decline, the French Revolution bred dissent, notably among the masses in Paris. At the height on the Revolution, it became as much of a crusade against their fellow countrymen as it was against their outside enemies. After seizing power, political factions consistently accused each other of working against the Revolution, and royalist insurrections fueled the disarray. Leading up to Revolution itself was the growing social inequality. With the centralization of the French state due to the efforts of French kings such as Louis XIV, French common citizens found themselves subjected to the will of a nobility that became increasingly hostile to any sort of concessions. Many families were struggling to make ends meet while seeing those at the top of society turn a blind eye. Warfare contributed to this as well, notably the Seven Years War in which France lost much of it s New World territory and the American War of Independence after which the French came away with little spoils, not nearly enough to make up for the money spent on the war. With their country on the verge of economic collapse, French prices soared, forcing French commoners into an increasingly small box. Faced with an increasing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are also positive effects to coming out as well but the negative opinions of some has triumphed across the nation during the last decade. Even though it may seem that our country has come a long way and accepts homosexuals, we still have a long way to go. Why do such stereotypes override the good effects of coming out gay? Coming out as a homosexual improves the quality of life such as making the individual feel confident and happier within. My own experience will serve as an example on how these things can reduce the confidence level in someone that wants to be open to friends, family and loved ones.
