Examples Of Censorship In America Today
Censorship is one of the most controversial topics in America today. It provides rules or
discipline for new technology. It covers music, video games, movies, plays, and the internet.
Censorship is all around us, but how has it affected our nation as a whole? Censorship is the
suppression of words, images, or ideas that are offensive, happens whenever some people succeed
in imposing their personal political or moral values on others. Censorshiphas existed in ancient
societies, and was made to prevent the wrong audiences from seeing things that were to mature.
One of the most famous examples was in 399BC when the philosopher Socrates was sentenced to
drink poison for his corruption of youth and his acknowledgement of unorthodox divinities. Another
example is during the 15th century when the printing press was created, certain books or writings
were not allowed to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today however it has become more controversial as new music and movies are coming to light.
Some disagree with the lyrics that are being said. An example is in 1988 when the music group
N.W.A released their 2nd album which featured the song F*** the Police. This song spread
across the nation and raised some eyebrows. While on tour the group was told by California
police to not perform the song at the next concert, however the group performed the song the
police fired up the building and the whole group was taken into custody. Many believed that the
music was inappropriate and crossing the line, but their lyrics expressed what their life was like
in Compton. This is just one example of how people think censorship should have even more of
an effect on everyday life. Though the song offended the police it was made to show the
discrimination they had faced as individuals. Many did not agree, but the group believed it was
their God given right to express their beliefs and opinions through

Monologue Performance Analysis
How do I want to use this class to develop as a performer?
During my time in this class I would like to develop my performance skills to become more a
confident and capable actor . I intend to take advantage of being able to work with others as I
will able to learn from a variety of new people. I would like to become more equipped to take on
challenging roles, and be able to have a better understanding of complex characters. To do this I
will focus on challenging myself when it comes to picking a monologue and role within the group
scene.I would like to to use this class to learn new techniques and to feel more comfortable with
performing in front of strangers.

The constant movement throughout made the piece very visually interesting, while also adding to
the humour of the piece. I did feel however as if only one of the actors had the opportunity to fully
showcase his abilities as amount of speech for the actors was far from even. I also think that in the
future both actors should be careful with their pronunciation, as some of the speech as lost in the
accents and movement. The delivery of the lines however was so strong that this rarely obstructed
the audience from understanding the meaning of what they were

Barriers To Care
Stigma and Barriers to Care is a self report measure that was adapted from the original 11 item
version. The original scale was reported as having Cronbach alphas for the perceived stigma scale
at .82 and .70 for the barriers to care scale (Britt et al., 2008). Britt and colleagues added additional
items based on literature to create a more robust measure (Britt, Pury, Zinzow, Raymond, 2013). The
self report measure consists of 16 items exploring topics of stigma (including self stigma), attitudes
toward mental healthcare, attitudinal, logistical, and perceived barriers. Items are scored on a
likert scale with response options of strongly agree, agree, neither agree nor disagree, disagree, and
strongly disagree. Sample items read, I don t... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
International Neuropsychiatric Interview for DSM 5 (M.I.N.I.) (Sheehan, 2014). The M.I.N.I.
is a structured diagnostic interview that was condensed into a briefer version from its original
full length edition. The M.I.N.I. was originally developed by a group of psychologists and
clinicians in 1990. It was since revised to capture revisions to various editions of the Diagnostic
and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It is a commonly used assessment to complete
structured psychiatric diagnostic interviews. The M.I.N.I. takes approximately 15 minutes to
complete and screens for various psychiatric diagnoses. The M.I.N.I. has been reported as having
reliability with a kappa of 0.88 to 1.0 and validity with kappa generally greater than 0.5 (Quimby

modules to assess for PTSD and suicide. The PTSD module will not be utilized because this
study will assess for PTSD with the CAPS 5. The suicide module will not be used due to the nature
of this study and the inability of this researcher to perform ethically necessary interventions to a
participant who potentially endorses suicidal ideation. Moreover, assessment of suicidality is not

The Influence Of Distort Reality On World Maps
1. The author Laura Hebert argues that maps must distort reality on world maps in order to be
accurate about the world all over. Hebert states, projections sacrifice absolute accuracy in any
particular domain in order to be relatively accurate in all domains. Projections including Mercator,
the Peters, the Robinson, and the Goode s, all have their strong points however each projection
doesn t work to perfect one particular area of maps. For example, instead of working to perfect
navigation, projections may sacrifice the accuracy of navigation to achieve overall accuracy on
maps. In other words, maps must distort reality to show us the greater truth.
2. Map projections are methods for representing the surface of the earth and it s shape. ... Show

The American Diet: Fast food has altered American diet as the author states, three hamburgers and
four orders of french fries every week , is what a typical American consumes. Fast food is now
consumed at any place, including schools, zoos, stadiums, airports, you name it. In fact, eating fast
food has fit in so well to the routines of typical Americans that walking into the same restaurant
everyday, probably even more than once, no longer passes as a disturbing thought. The McDonald s
Corporation is the world s largest chain of fast food restaurants that serves around 68 million
customers daily. This means that more than half a billion people walk into McDonald s everyday
to eat their meal of the day. Whether people notice it or not, the American Diet has irrevocably
changed. The Paleolithic diet consisted of foods such as meat, nuts and berries. All foods of that
time were unprocessed and organic as ever. Today, however, the American diet adopts the exact
opposite foods than those of the Paleolithic diet. Every meal served at a fast food restaurant is
processed and unhealthy to the point of killing. And it isn t only the cooking process that makes
these foods unhealthy but also the canned manufacturing process that takes place before the food
even reaches the restaurant. There is no doubt that the American Diet is warped as it no longer
assists us in maintaining our health but rather assists in deteriorating it while simultaneously
leaving us in deep shadows of

Colonialism And Colonialism In Joseph Conrad s Heart Of...
Joseph Conrad Heart of Darkness is a very famous book which has been considered by my many
a key reading into the insight of colonialism. Heart of Darkness is a novel that focuses on
colonialism of Africans specifically the Congo and the effect that has on the indigenous people
who inhabit it as well the European colonists. The book focuses on a trip that the main character
Marlow takes and what he sees and how it changes him. The book is based off the author Conrad
real life experience when he traveled to the Congo and captained a ship that sailed down the Congo
River. He would later become ill during his travel and returned home. He then returned home and
wrote the Heart of Darkness. Heart of Darkness is a novel that looks at the true darkness of men in
their quest for power and wealth. In my paper, I will give a summary of Heart Darkness its relation
to colonialismand some of its major themes.
The story itself seems to be a dramatized retelling of some of the experiences that Conrad saw on
his own travels to the Congo. The story focuses on Marlow s job as captain of an ivory
transporter ship. A major catalyst of the book is Marlow sailing the Congo to meet a man named
Kurtz an ivory procurement worker who is said to be an idealistic but highly capable and smart
man. Upon his travel to the central station, Marlow is shocked upon seeing what the European
traders have done to the natives. Marlow discovers on his travels brutality and senseless
overworking of the natives.

The scope of this paper is to break down and define social regulation, industrial regulation, and
natural monopolies by explaining how they have impacted society and why they exist. It is also the
intent to summarize the Antitrust Laws, explain the major functions of the five primary federal
regulatory commissions that govern social regulation, and identify three main regulatory
commissions of industrial regulation.
Industrial Regulation is a type of regulation where the government concerns itself with public
services such as public utilities and how much the consumers are charged by companies for the
services provided. Industrial regulation is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social regulatory commissions often dictate the required conditions that are to be met for
production environments and products in order to protect employees as well as consumers.
A natural monopoly is an industry in which one business already exists is not economical because
the competing business would not be able to reduce their prices as low as the price of the natural
monopoly and therefore wouldn t be profitable. Natural monopolies are established when multiple
firms startup costs are too high to enter the industry. The public interest theory of regulation, or
economic theory of regulation states that industrial regulation is essential in maintaining a natural
monopoly. Natural monopolies turning into a regular monopoly charging monopoly prices can be
harmful to society. Something that everyone most generally uses or needs like public resources
i.e. electricity and water. Almost every person in our society requires these resources. The initial
cost for creating a firm that can provide these services is high. Some startup cost can include
power stations as well as power lines, labor costs, the cost of producing the power, and many other
costs. These naturally occurring costs can often bar entry or discourage entry into the industry. In
the event that a firm does make it into the industry and starts producing these public resources such

Required Music Education
The Need for Required Music Education
Over 2.1 million children around the country do not have access to a music education program
(Pellegrinelli 2). These students that are not introduced to music education could be able to learn
and understand mathematics and reading skills much more efficiently by simply introducing music
into their lives (Taylor 2). When involved in music, anxiety and depression levels could decrease
as well ( Landmark 1). Music is not required in all schools, and students could benefit from more
music education (Braun 1). Even though many students dislike music and think it is too hard,
schools should be obliged to require music classes through grade school because students that are
actively involved in music gain many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there is ample evidence showing that there are other benefits of music outside of
academics that these students could benefit from. Music educator Anne Edmunds said, [Music]
Exposure also helps with cognitive, social and emotional development ( Mind 1). Though
academics are not the only benefit of music, at most times, music will benefit everyone in some
sort of academic way. Out of 61 seniors taking piano lessons, all of them showed positive
differences in mental and physical areas. This would benefit young people as well ( Landmark 1).
Not only does Music for the Mind and Bruhn and Tims show that there are other benefits of music
education for students, The Landmark Fletcher Music Study proves that music does help most
people. While many may believe that some people s academics may not improve when music
education is involved, most people are benefited academically by music education, and there are
many benefits outside of academics. While it is true that some adults and students do not take
music lessons or classes because they think it is too hard, or not fun, music education is just like
many other things. It takes practice and dedication to become better. Many adults take up golf,
painting, dance, or other group activities instead. However, with these activities, for them to

Why Shelter Dogs Should Not Be Put Down
Why Shelter Dogs Should not be put down, but used to benefit our society .
Animal Euthanasia, is a process during which an animal is put to death. According to Humane
society about 2.4 million healthy, adoptable cats and dogs about one every 13 seconds are put
down in U.S shelters each year. (humane society.) The saying that dogs are a man s best friend is
often thought of when thinking of dogs, but what if I tell you the man is the dog s best friend, or
even the only friend, only family. So often we see people buying Dogs because they are so cute!
and so warm/fuzzy/cuddly! and 90% of the time those dogs do not stay with this family, either
they take too much time, decide to move, not enough space or the saddest one they can no longer
afford it, and those dogs find their way to the shelter. The family who put their dogs in shelters
think it is the best decision, but in turn, it s really a death sentence. According to Akita Rescue, a
dog has 72 hours to find a new family from the moment you drop it off. (Anonymous) after this
time the animal gets put down, So why do this to your pet? to any pet? why have them sit in a cell
for no reason, other than you not having enough time or no longer wanting to take care of it; that
Dog doesn t have relatives to which he can go to when things go bad, he can t just go to his sister,
mother, father, or grandparents to that dog you are the world, and by putting your dog in the
shelter the dog loses not only you but also his world.

##bolisms Of Symbols In Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury
Bradbury employs several symbols in Fahrenheit 451 to develop a heavier plan. one in every of
these symbols includes the quantity on the helmet that Montag wears. within the initial chapter of
Fahrenheit 451, the storyteller says, with his symbolic helmet numbered 451 on his unemotional
head (Bradbury 1). 451 isn t AN absolute variety that Bradbury indiscriminately chose; all the
firemen wear this variety on their helmets as a result of it symbolizes the work they are doing. 451
is that the temperature, in Fahrenheit, at that paper burns that area unit vital for the firemen WHO
burns books. Another example of symbolism would be the The Sieve and therefore the Sand the
title of the second section in Fahrenheit 451. The title refers to Montag s childhood, once he wont
to attempt to fill a sieve with sand. Once as a toddler he had Saturday upon a yellow sand dune by
the ocean within the middle of the blue and hot summer day, attempting to fill a sieve with sand, as
a result of some cruel full cousin had said... (Bradbury 74). The sand represents the data that he
seeks, and therefore the sieve represents his mind attempting to understand and retain this
information (quizlet.com). Also, Bradbury apply symbolism within the title of the primary section
of the novel, The fireside and therefore the Salamander. each fireside and Salamander area unit
related to the hearth, But he knew his mouth had solely emotional to mention salutation, then once
she appeared hypnotised by the Salamander on his arm and therefore the Phoenix disc on his
chest... (Bradbury 4). Hearths (fireplaces) area unit historically the middle of the house and
therefore the supply of heat. The hearthmen wear salamander mental imagery on their uniforms and
decision their motortruck a salamander as a result of salamanders were once believed to measure
in fire while not being consumed by it.
Along with Bradbury s clever illustration of symbols, he conjointly incorporates irony to satirically
illustrate a devastating yankee society, that he warns might become reality. this is often as a result
of during this society books area unit illegitimate. additionally, author employs verbal irony to point
out the alternative of the reality, Go let him in,

Thievery Quotes In The Book Thief
Imagine you are a poorly fed citizen, who is living in Germany, during the World War II, what
would you be doing, probably stealing something to fill up your tummy right? It is true that at the
economically unstable period mentioned in the book, thievery is understandable, anything could
be stolen and anyone could be a thief. However, for those who have read and understand the book
thoroughly would acknowledge the importance of Liesel s thievery characteristic.Markus Zusak, in
The Book Thief characterizes Liesel as a thief to compare her theft with mutiny against Nazi
Germany, other rebellious German people and the development of her personal identity. First,

Zusak as the author, demonstrates Liesel as a thief to compare her with other rebellious
Germans. Throwback to the book Arrival On Himmel Street, death has written Her knees
entered the ground. Her moment had arrived. Still in disbelief, she started to dig. He couldn t be
dead. He couldn t be dead. He couldn t (23), these words indicate the similarities between Liesel
and many other Germans during the period. As we all have known, during World War II, many
German families has to suffer from separation. Childrens are separated from their parents,
siblings are supported by each others. Just like Liesel, many in the time were departed from
their parents on their way to their foster parents. Unfortunately for some of them, their siblings,
who share the same journey with them cannot make it to the destination. Not only Liesel shares
faiths with the rebellious German who are affected by the World War II, she is also
experiencing the same feeling that they are sensing. They are all angry, they are in disbelief, that
their loved ones have left them behind in the lonely world. Correspondingly, in the book The
Woman With The Iron Fist, Issa has spoken This is what I have to put up with, these rich
bastards, these lazy swine... (43). These words have spoken for the majority of Germans at the
time. Through the words, the abusive tone of the character Issa, we can clearly see the spark of
rebellious. Although these words were not directly from Liesel, we all know that Who

Battle Of Vimy Ridge Research Paper
Pre 1950
The Battle of Vimy Ridge took place in April 1917. This battle was the most intricately planned
operation on the Western front by the Allied troops during World War One. It was led by
Canadian General, Sir Arthur Currie, and was the first time all four Canadian Corps fought
together in the war. It was also the first time Canadian troops, led by a Canadian, shared a total
Canadian victory. This battle was a defining event for Canada, as it was a major step in achieving
full independence from the British. It was important for the growth of Canadian nationalism and
pride.
Alberta s Famous Five were a group of accomplished Canadian women involved in the Persons
Case of 1927. At the time, The Constitution stated what requirements had to be met for a person to
be delegated into the Canadian Senate, and other government jobs. For years, it had been a given
that by a person they meant a man. The five women challenged Parliament and asked them whether
or not women were seen as persons. When the case went to the Supreme Court of Canada in 1928,
it was ruled that the Constitution meant persons as in men. However, when the British Privy
Council heard of this decision, they vetoed it, and so ruled that women were indeed persons and
eligible to be appointed to the Senate. In Canada, this was an important step forward for the women
s rights movement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Contraceptives
There are many different contraceptives available to today s youth.
The first and major one would be the Birth control pills. There are two types of these pills, the first
being the Combined Oral Contraceptive Pills which contain two hormones, an oestrogen and
progestin and the second being the Progestin only pills which contains one hormone being
progestin. The Combined Oral Contraceptive pill works by stopping ovulation (release of an egg)
and by inhibiting the movement of sperm. Among common couples who start utilization of
combined pills around eight percent of women encounter an incidental pregnancy within the first

They also reduce PMS symptoms, menstrual blood loss, anaemia and they stop endometriosis.
The disadvantages of the combined pill is that they do not protect against the contraction of HIV
/AIDS or other STIs; a women must remember to take the pill at the same time; every day, some
women experience headaches, depression or decreased enjoyment of intercourse. The Progestin
only pills work by making cervical mucus thicker so that the sperm cannot get to the egg and the
also make the lining of the uterus thinner, sometimes they even stop ovulation. The effectiveness
against pregnancy and the contraction of HIV/AIDS is the same as combined contraceptive pills.
Some of the advantages of choosing progestin only pills are that the amount of progestin in these
pills in less than in combined pills; these pills cause light menstrual flow and less anaemia and they
also reduce menstrual cramps, pain, headaches, mood swings and breast tenderness. The
disadvantages of choosing progestin only pills is that they cause your menstrual cycle to be
irregular; like the combined pills, they do not protect against HIV/AIDS or other STIs and a
condom is recommended to be used at the same time.

The Management Of A Company
How would you feel if you owned part of a company, but could not help make any decisions on the
future of the company? Those who own majority of the company decide to hire mangers to make
important decisions on your company. This is a general example on how shareholders run their
company. Now wouldn t you rather help make decision, or be able to factor in ideas from the
employees and community that has helped the business grow? If so, you might want to consider
the stakeholders theory. Different stakeholders can hold varying amounts of influence and interest,
within the organization. For example, consider a factory worker. An individual worker has large
interests in the company, in terms of working conditions, salary, and benefits.... Show more content

Internal stakeholders are described as the managers and employees of a company. Connected
stakeholders are those that are beyond the immediate boundaries of the firm, while external
stakeholders are those who are outside the firm. Some would say it is rather difficult to argue the
stakeholders theory because there is not as much information on the subject as there is
shareholders theory. They would argue that shareholders own most corporations; and presently,
corporations owned by stakeholders would be unsuccessful in the long run. There has been some
debate on the legitimacy of the concept of the stakeholder, according to Friedman and Miles. The
stakeholder concept has not gone unchallenged. Many have reiterated the alternative stakeholder
positions. Others have challenged implications of the stakeholder concept for certain groups
(Friedman and Miles 118). Friedman and Miles go on to argue how stakeholders can weaken an
organization, and even alter its long term characteristics. Assume that the stakeholder concept is
infallible and consider the example of the factory worker. The company is publicly owned and is

Historical Elements Of Verdi Prati
The piece from my final recital programme that I chose to evaluate in this essay is Verdi Prati from
Handel s opera Alcina. Alcina was inspired by a story from an epic poem called Orlando Furioso ,
however, Handel s libretto is a very free adaption. This particular aria is of great importance in the
operaas we see the character Ruggerio predicting what is to come for Alcina and her magical island.
The historical elements of this opera are extremely important in understanding the true meaning of
the song Verdi Prati. In 1734, the period which was known as the Royal Academy of Music in
British opera came to an end as Handel lost the tenancy on the King s Theatre in London. Handel s
opponents took over the theatre, and the majority of his most important artists along with it. When
he was offered the use of a new theatre ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everything on her magical island is either an illusion created by Alcina herself or one of her
former lovers that she has transformed into a tree, rock, etc. The enchantress Alcina, is a deeply
tense character. She is fierce and manipulative and there is clear distinction between Alcina s
moments of honesty and her moments of lies. Her marvellous arias shock and captivate the
listener in a similar way in which she dominates her lovers. This takes a basic story in new
directions. She shares the stage mainly with Ruggiero, who under Alcina s spell, is her mortal
husband and passionate lover and who is a leading castrato. Ruggiero predicts her coming defeat
and ultimate vengeance in his nostalgic aria Verdi Prati. His role is full of delicate and elegant
touches. Despite the fact that Alcina is evil, her major weakness is, in fact, her love for Ruggerio
who eventually provides her with a broken spirit and a broken

Gender Stereotypes In Children
At a very young age children are labeled on what it means to be a male and female based on their
gender. This labeling is taught, but also it is something we as humans pick up on. Most of the
time infants start to categorize gender by three months and are fully developed by one and half to
two years old, and labeling by eighteen to twenty months (Hunt, 2016). At about two to three years
old they start to develop the knowledge of roles of men and women hypothetically and start to
stereotype men and women (Hunt, 2016). With the influences such as kid s toys and TV shows it
further reinforces what women and men should do. They develop an ignorance towards gender, and
by playing with and watching gendered things they are learning a misinterpretation... Show more

There was a whole aisle for Disney princess which was like a pink wonderland backdrop, while
the Disney section directed towards boys had dark colors, blue, black, green, and purple. The thing
I found interesting was that the all of the action figures, and stuffed animals of Disney new movie,
Zootopia, was in the boy section, which has a strong female lead in the movie. Now why would a
strong female character like Lt. Judy Hopps be found in the boys section, but not in the girl

Home Is More Than Two Walls And A Roof
What is Home? What is home? Some people may consider home to be at their parents house, or
their own house. It can also be a place you really like or somewhere you spend a lot of time at.
You may call a lot of places home and still feel at home there. Also, you should never forget
where you came from and what home means to you. Home is where I was raised. Where I
played, laughed, and learned. It is where I grew up at, and where I became me. I believe that
home is more than four walls and a roof. Home is an environment. It s a feeling that I get when I
walk through the front door. Home is where I became myself, not primarily physically but
mentally too. It became a mold that formed who I am today. Home is my childhood, and my
memories it means family and friends, and all the times we spent together. My best friend name
is Lydia, and we have been friends since Kindergarten. We first met in Kindergarten; it was the
first day of kindergarten at Pineville Elementary. I remember getting off the bus at the school,
and my teacher Mrs. Potee was there to meet us. After, she had everyone that was in her class off
the bus we went to the classroom. When I first walked in the classroom is was full of colorful
posters with learning material on them, cubbies with our names on them, and the table had our
names on it too. At the table where I was sitting I didn t know I was going to meet my best friend.

North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
The North American Free Trade Agreement was formed on January 1, 1994 with the final
provisions being fully implemented as of January 1, 2008. The agreement is meant to eliminate a
majority of the trade barriers, as well as invest in the three member nations: Canada, Mexico, and
the United States. NAFTA is viewed as one of the most successful trade agreements in history and
has helped provide increases in agricultural trade, as well as investments between the three member
countries. The purpose of the North American Free Trade Agreement is to eliminate trade barriers,

(WTO) General Agreement on Tariffs Trade (GATT)
The World Trade Organizationwas formed on January 1, 1995 however; its trade system is almost
50 years older. Since 1948, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade(GATT) had provided the
rules for the system. The main purpose for the World Trade Organization is to offer a forum for
negotiation of trade between member Governments. The bulk of these agreements came from the
1986 1994 Uruguay Round negotiations, as well as from the GATT. Currently, the WTO is host to
a new set of negotiations under the Doha Development Agenda launched in 2001. At the center of
the WTO, are the agreements reached between the majorities of the world s trading nations. These
documents provide legal guidelines (and rules) for international commerce and general business.
These agreements are ultimately viewed as contracts, binding the participating governments to
keeping their trade policies within agreed limits. The system s overriding purpose is to help trade
flow freely for the economic development and well being of participating governments and their
countries. The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade was first signed in 1948, although some
sources say 1947 (the year the idea was conceived). This agreement is designed to provide an

Stereotypes Of Private School Students
I first became a private schooler when I attended pre school at age 4 and maintained this group
until my senior year of high school. Throughout my twelve plus years of a private education, I
have seen and heard nearly every stereotype, both complimentary and derogatory, accurate and
erroneous, as well as, prejudicial and supportive. Private schoolers are typified by false stereotypes
just as any other minority group is. For example, private schoolstudents are expected, by society as
a whole, to be successful and intelligent by default. Yet, there are some stereotypes that hold true,
such as the majority of private school students hold academic achievement as paramount alongside
respect and courteousness to others. Private school students are generally students in a family with
a high socioeconomic status and parents with a college educationor higher. At large, society tends
to typify private school students as conceited, haughty, and arrogant. While this is true for some
private school students, it does not describe the majority of students of these students in an
accurate light. I was placed in the private school environment by my parents at age 4, and by my
own personal decision, I decided to continue until university. This decision was made in order to
raise me in a safer and more controlled setting, and personally, to remove as many negative
influences as possible.
Due to the frequent discussion of superiority between the two schooling methods, much research

Introduction Meli Marine is a Singapore based marine transport company which now has an
opportunity to purchase 16 vessels from Teeh Sah company to enter Asia North America
shipping market. The CEO of Meli Marine is wondering whether the move is right for the
development of company. Some questions are designed to help him to make proper decisions.
Besides, reasons in terms of the questions are justified in the following. Critical questions 1.Why
the vessels price that Teeh Sah gives is considered to be attractive ? 2.As intra Asia and Asia
North America shipping business is busy, What kind of port is suitable for vessels to dock?
3.What counter strategy can Meli Marine use to avoid the risk of increasing fuels price? 4.Why
Meli Marine choose to deepen its vessel operations rather than developing the container shipping
value chain? 5.In order to maintain the profit margin, what kind of actions can Meli adopt?
Justification and discussion of relative effectiveness of critical questions 1.This question aims to
identify the underlying assumption and consider whether it is really acceptable. People intend to
estimate or assess before making decision, which may result in estimating and forecasting
traps.(Hammond, Keeney and Raiffa 1998)If seller gives price lower than buyer s expectation, it

EMR and EHR also helps keep information up to date. A study was done by to evaluate the
staffed nurses attitude and perception of the EHR in Sri Ramakrishna Hospital. The study
found that majority of the staffed nurses (95.5%) found the EHR as beneficial (Juliet Sudha,
2013). About 68% of the nurses believed that EHR would be helpful and the about 73% of them
believed EHR will reduce the workload (Juliet Sudha, 2013). Cons Nurses have found the EMR

reciprocal feelings towards having patients medical records electronically distributed. According to
Nelson (2016), challenges to EHR usability include workflow issues, forced word choices, lack of

that inputting information to the EMR and EHR takes too much time and it is also time
consuming. The most common problem with EMR and EHR are system failures. Computers crash
every time and power outages are really common. If the system ends up failing, then there might be
no back up charts. One major problem would be the change to EMR and EHR. New nurses might
find the change is not difficult. However, for older nurses that are used to charting might find the

Self Victimization In Bruno Bettelheim
Bruno Bettelheim s essay, A Victim and the liquidation of the ghetto scene in Steven Spielberg s
Schindler s List deal with the Nazi and Jew stereotypes in two different ways. Bettelheim argues
that the stereotype of a Jews self victimization leads to further victimization by the Nazis. Whilst
Spielberg s liquidation scene demonstrates that the victimization of the Jews occurs either way.
Bettelheim s take on the unpopular stereotype of the self victimization of the Jews and Spielberg s
stereotypical representation of the Nazi s nature allow for the acknowledgment of differences in

Bettelheim describes the notion of self victimization and how it further negatively affected the
Nazi s prejudices of the Jews, wherein a Jew underestimates the Nazi. In contrast, Spielberg
portrays the victimization of the Jews as a result of the prejudices the Nazis held against them,
wherein the Jew does not risk underestimating the Nazi. In Schindler s List, some Jews are
portrayed as attempting to escape the liquidation as a result of fear, hiding in unlikely places. In
contrast, the Jews described in A Victim attempt evasion of their own fate by deceiving the SS
officers telling stories as They insisted that one SS man was like another, all equally vicious and
stupid (Bettelheim 30). This underestimation of the Nazi by the other Jews in A Victim is what
Bettelheim argues against, The victim often reacts in ways as undesirable as the action of the
aggressor (Bettelheim 29). The Jews reaction due to his or her own prejudice of the Nazi leads to
his or her demise. The fear in Schindler s List overpowers the prejudice so ploys such as in A

Charter Schools Are The Best Schools
Charter schools offer much more than public schools do, like smaller classrooms and extended
one on one time. Charter schools are independent entities that have received a charter, which is a
set of self written rules (and promises) about how the school will be structured and run (Pascual,
2016, The Truth About Charter Schools). This means that they have their own rules that work for
the children and meet their individual needs. The schools could change the rules, as generations
change, to accommodate different students. With the unity and numbers of millennials, charter
schools could be known as the best type of schools for students to succeed in future colleges and
jobs. In my essay I will back up Cahn and Cahns prediction that millennials have what it takes to
make it well known that charter schools are the best schools. Extending on the main claim that
charter schools are the best schools is David and Jack Cahns book, When Millennials Rule: The
Reshaping of America. In their chapter Better Schools: Investing in our future, they are trying to
enlighten political campaign organizers about the millennials future actions and beliefs. David and
Jack Cahn are millennial activists and journalists whose book was publicized by Post Hills Press

debt, school reform, and the controversy on legalizing of Marijuana. Just recently some of theses

equss vs amadeus by peter shaffer Essay
In both Equus and Amadeus Shaffer shows insanity in his characters. He does this not only to
stress the characters feelings and state of mind of which they are in. Also, he attempts to cast a
blanket over the reader; it gives the reader the feeling that Shaffer designed the characters to express
and reflect the beauty in insanity and to convey the ugliness on normality.
Madness, if not out rightly divine, is at best preferable to the 20th century s ruthless and uninspired
sanity, is in this play, as it is so much fashionable philosophizing, totally dependent on a pleasant,
aesthetically rational form of derangement for the credibility of its argument (Richardson 389).

Shaffer is questioning the notion or sanity and normality and this intrigues the reader. But when it
comes time for Dysart to do his job, what will happen to the boy? There s no question that the boy
himself is in deep pain and distress (Shaffer 356). Is Dysart the savior to the hell that Alan is going
through or is he the fiend that will show Alan the hell that is normality?
Amadeus begins with the savage whispers and snakelike hissing of the Ventricelli, the two Little
Winds who appear throughout the play, spreading rumors. They spew forth words from their
mouths like curses, First Saliere and assassin emerge, followed by the talk of Mozart s death, or
murder, and the question that we are left with: Did Saliere murder Mozart? If he did, why did he
wait thirty two years to make his confession (Morace 37)?
Saliere starts his story off by telling us about his bargain with God. He says that in exchange for
God s making him a composer, he would dedicate his art to God and his life to serving God and

The Influences of Politics, Science, and Discovery on...
Jules Verne s science fiction novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea delivers profound
insight into historical events which influenced the work. Through Verne s descriptive style, one is
able to ascertain various political and foreign policy aspects that involved France during the time
the novel was written. In addition, worldly issues and struggles can be accurately assessed. Due to
Verne s detail and determination to explore questions of liberty and authority, it is evident that he
largely incorporates personal opinion and ideas into his works ( Twenty Thousand Leagues Under

The destruction of the Russian warship provides a supreme indication of who Verne supported in
the conflicts between Russian and Poland. Verne sympathizes with the suffering of the Polish
people and aspires for them to obtain independence from their oppressors. It should be noted that
Verne s opinion reflects those of many in France who objected passionately to the Russians brutal
punishment of the Poles ( Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea Literature and Its Times). It
became clearly evident to Pierre Jules Hetzel, Verne s publisher, that a scene involving the
destruction of a Russian warship by a Pole would result in severe political ramifications. Hetzel
feared that destroying a Russian warship in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea could anger
the Russian government and produce some form of retaliation. It should be noted that France had
been in opposition of Russia in the Crimean War, which came to a conclusion in 1856. Taking into
consideration the closeness of the Crimean War and the release of the first manuscript of Twenty
Thousand Leagues Under the Sea in 1868, one can speculate that France did not want to risk
engagement in another war with Russia. In addition, during the time Verne was finishing his first
manuscript, the Prussians were on the move in Denmark and Austria, and many in the French
government feared that France would be next on their list ( Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the
Sea Literature and Its Times).

My Experience In My Middle School
Middle school changes lives, it s as simple as that. It changes everything that you know about
yourself and your abilities, and turns it upside down. When you walk through the doors on your
first day of school, you are confident and ready for everything to come, but by the last day of
eighth grade, you are exhausted, almost as if the school itself sucked the life right out of you. And
yet, you have new friends, amazing teachers, and new interests that you had never even given a
second thought before middle school. I myself have had many experiences in the middle school,
good and bad. On one faithful day in fifth grade, I became acquainted with my close friend, Azzia

clown painted red. She was the popular one, always surrounded by friends, and lovingly
accepting the rule of teacher s pet. I was the quiet girl who had a small circle of friends, and I
was considered weird and annoying by Azzia and her friends. We went on like this for a while,
hating each other for reasons none other than biases. Then, as if by fate, we both joined the

Analysis Of The Book The Time Machine

Physical Science
May 7, 2016
Introduction
The best selling novel, The Time Machine, is written by H.G. Wells. H.G. Wells is also known as
The Father of Science Fiction. Wells has written many books that has influenced our vision of the
future, The Time Machine, being his first and foremost novel. The Time Machine is the story of the
Time Traveler who invents the machine, his adventures while traveling, and his recounting of the
tale to the narrator and friends gathered in his home.
Key Idea 1 The beginning of the book is very intriguing, pulling readers into the book and making
them want to read more. The book begins in the Time Traveler s home, where he and his guests are
having dinner and discussing his theories about time and time travel. When the Time Traveler tells
the guests he can actually do it, they are skeptical. The Time Traveler s colleagues bombard him
with protestations and thought provoking questions. This part of the book makes the reader wonder
what the outcome of time traveling might be but it is obvious that the Time Traveler
wholeheartedly believes in time travel.
Key Idea 2 In a moment my hand was on the lever and I had placed a month between myself and
these monsters. What a classic, wonderfully imaginative science fiction sentence. The story is
completely and utterly engrossing. The fact that the book was published in 1895 and science
lovers can still love and appreciate this book and H.G. Wells

Craig Ferguson s Journey To America
With the exception of most comedians, celebrities are an attractive group of people. The female
celebrities often boast large breasts, full lips, and flowing locks of their chosen hair color (usually
blonde); while their male counterparts come equipped with bulging biceps, toned torsos, and
chiseled jawlines. A combination of natural good looks and the money to purchase the finest clothes
and beauty products on the market places celebrities far above the common peoplewhen it comes to
appearance.
Of course, having all that money can often lead to some pretty irresponsible decisions. While it
can indeed be spent on hair gel, makeup, and plastic surgery, many celebrities find themselves
blowing their earnings on a life of drugs and alcohol. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Westbrook first began appearing in EastEnders in 1990, at just 16 years of age. Shortly after, she
developed a fondness for cocaine and was using the drug regularly by 1995. In 1996, producers
had become so exasperated by her frequent tardiness and poor behavior on set that they had no
choice but to let her go. Despite losing a significant chunk of her income, Westbrook continued her
use of cocaine. In 2000, she shocked the British public when she appeared at the British Soap
Awards with her septum missing, eroded by years of drug abuse.
Westbrook would enter rehab several times over the next decade, enjoying brief periods of
sobriety before falling prey to her demons once again. Despite undergoing plastic surgery to repair
her nose and give her a more youthful appearance, Danniella Westbrook still bears the scars of
decades of substance abuse and cocaine addiction.

Abstract Mobile marketing can be made more personalized through Mobile Personalized Marketing
(MPM). Customers now expect content to be more personalized and relevant, and marketing
technology has risen to meet the challenges. Due to the ubiquity, interactivity and localization of
mobile devices, the customer contextual information ((i.e) the environment where a customer is
located) identifies the needs of customer and offer product services by understanding the customer s
preferences. Existing work focused on contexts of mobile users and their activities for better
predicting customer preferences. In existing, only limited numbers of dimensions are considered to
predict the user preferences. It cannot precisely predict about people s daily activities, which could
be extremely difficult due to the inherent randomness of human behavior. The proposed work
focuses on the number of dimension combination to be increased for each event with respect to
context and action rule of a user. User clustering is constructed and similarities between the users
are also evaluated for prediction of mobile behaviors with considerations of user relation.

Governor s University The problem and explanation: The hospital I am employed at is currently
having an issues with patient falls. The hospital is a no restraint facility and strongly
discourages the use of any form of restraint including leather, soft, posey vests, or chemical.
Currently the line of defense is using staff sitters, moving the patient to a visible room when
available and or family members are encouraged to come and stay with their loved ones who are
at high risk of falls. This does not always rectify the issues secondary to staffing issues and family
participation. The facility has had two critical falls this year, one... Show more content on

As a facility, we have adopted the slogan No one potties alone thus meaning staff have to be
present at all times when a patient is on the toilet. You can imagine how this has been perceived.
Patients refuse to have staff standing waiting while they use the toilet, patient and staff are very
uncomfortable with this facility wide decision. Simply stated it is not working well. We have
continued to have falls and or near misses and patient satisfaction has declined. Our patient
surveys seem to have a common theme, patient s need and want their privacy while in the
restroom. On our unit, 4 Tower, I brought up the issues of falls secondary to our manager stating
this is a hot topic. I introduced discussion at the unit based council meeting that we have an
issues and we need to address the issue and do something because this plan of no one potties
alone is not working. Hence, this project has come to life. The investigation and analysis: The
issue is patient falls in the acute care setting. In looking at this issue, I researched all the falls that
had occurred on my unit and pulled patient charts and researched RN and CNA documentation,
procedures, medication records etc. to be able to start seeing correlations / similarities between the
falls. I pulled NOEs (notice of events) our facility internal method of tracking falls. In reading
documentation most falls were during the

DISCUSSION
The data presented in the study showed trends in antibiotic resistance patterns of methicillin
resistant and methicillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus in KYAMCH at Enayetpur, Sirajgonj,
teaching and referral hospital of Bangladesh.
Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the major pathogens associated with
community acquired serious nosocomial infection because these strains generally show multiple
drug resistance which limits treatment possibilities (7).
In this study, the isolation rate of MRSA on gender basis revealed more from male (54.5%) than
female (45.5%). Persons younger than 30 years of age were found to be more MRSA carrier
112 (23%) and less found among below 10 years of age 50 (10%) (Figure 2). Our age and gender
based findings did not agree with those findings obtained by other studies where no significant
variations were noticed. (8). Population of this study is villagers of working group (30 years) who
are financially important. Through medical care they became subject of this study. On the
contrary, other studies are carried out in the city where all residents irrespective of gender and age
are equally receiving medical care.
In our study, the highest number of Staphylococcus aureus isolates were from throat swab
samples 104 (49.5%) followed by pus 44 (20.9%) (Figure 5 a). Similar study of Tamilnadu in India
as high as 35.7% of MRSA strains were obtained from throat swabs and 33.6% of strains were

Supply Chain and Bergerac
Bergerac Systems: The Challenge of Backward Integration
Abstract
Veterinary expenditure has been on an increasing trend due to the increase in pet ownership in the
United States. Bergerac is a company producing equipments used for testing pet patients in the
veterinarian clinics. Omnivue is one of the most successful equipments produced by the company,
which is priced at a competitive rate to attract lower and middle sized veterinarians. The production
of Omnivue involves the use of plastics and chemical reagents supplied by two major suppliers,
GenieTech and Elsinore. The management of Bergerac is planning to take control over its suppliers
to reduce the production fluctuation and overhead costs of the firm. There are three strategic ...

Hence, manufacturing department should not interfere in the distribution department, and the latter
should be experienced in distribution of products like Omnivue to the end customers.
Strategic Alternative 2 Backward Integration
Backward integration is a type of vertical integration in which a company takes control over its
suppliers. It is a form of acquisition of the intermediary players involved in supplying the raw
materials used in the production process of the firm. Raw materials, intermediate manufacturing and
assembly are controlled by the firm whereas distribution to the end customer is done by a third
party company. In this way, company increases production efficiency and gains a competitive
advantage by lowering its production cost.
Bergerac can opt for the buy option and implement its backward integration by acquiring
GenieTech. GenieTech can provide the company with eight efficient molding machines for the
acquisition price of $ 5.75 million. The price includes experienced labor force and management.
Bergerac can fulfill its chemical reagent demand by using 4 out of 8 moulds provided in the
acquisition. Rest of the presses can be used in the expansion process or can be used to meet the
demand of a third party. This investment can result in the reduction of overhead expenses by
twenty six percent per unit. Bergerac can pay the amount over a period of five years making the
project

  • 2. Examples Of Censorship In America Today Censorship is one of the most controversial topics in America today. It provides rules or discipline for new technology. It covers music, video games, movies, plays, and the internet. Censorship is all around us, but how has it affected our nation as a whole? Censorship is the suppression of words, images, or ideas that are offensive, happens whenever some people succeed in imposing their personal political or moral values on others. Censorshiphas existed in ancient societies, and was made to prevent the wrong audiences from seeing things that were to mature. One of the most famous examples was in 399BC when the philosopher Socrates was sentenced to drink poison for his corruption of youth and his acknowledgement of unorthodox divinities. Another example is during the 15th century when the printing press was created, certain books or writings were not allowed to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today however it has become more controversial as new music and movies are coming to light. Some disagree with the lyrics that are being said. An example is in 1988 when the music group N.W.A released their 2nd album which featured the song F*** the Police. This song spread across the nation and raised some eyebrows. While on tour the group was told by California police to not perform the song at the next concert, however the group performed the song the police fired up the building and the whole group was taken into custody. Many believed that the music was inappropriate and crossing the line, but their lyrics expressed what their life was like in Compton. This is just one example of how people think censorship should have even more of an effect on everyday life. Though the song offended the police it was made to show the discrimination they had faced as individuals. Many did not agree, but the group believed it was their God given right to express their beliefs and opinions through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Influence Of Distort Reality On World Maps 1. The author Laura Hebert argues that maps must distort reality on world maps in order to be accurate about the world all over. Hebert states, projections sacrifice absolute accuracy in any particular domain in order to be relatively accurate in all domains. Projections including Mercator, the Peters, the Robinson, and the Goode s, all have their strong points however each projection doesn t work to perfect one particular area of maps. For example, instead of working to perfect navigation, projections may sacrifice the accuracy of navigation to achieve overall accuracy on maps. In other words, maps must distort reality to show us the greater truth. 2. Map projections are methods for representing the surface of the earth and it s shape. ... The American Diet: Fast food has altered American diet as the author states, three hamburgers and four orders of french fries every week , is what a typical American consumes. Fast food is now consumed at any place, including schools, zoos, stadiums, airports, you name it. In fact, eating fast food has fit in so well to the routines of typical Americans that walking into the same restaurant everyday, probably even more than once, no longer passes as a disturbing thought. The McDonald s Corporation is the world s largest chain of fast food restaurants that serves around 68 million customers daily. This means that more than half a billion people walk into McDonald s everyday to eat their meal of the day. Whether people notice it or not, the American Diet has irrevocably changed. The Paleolithic diet consisted of foods such as meat, nuts and berries. All foods of that time were unprocessed and organic as ever. Today, however, the American diet adopts the exact opposite foods than those of the Paleolithic diet. Every meal served at a fast food restaurant is processed and unhealthy to the point of killing. And it isn t only the cooking process that makes these foods unhealthy but also the canned manufacturing process that takes place before the food even reaches the restaurant. There is no doubt that the American Diet is warped as it no longer assists us in maintaining our health but rather assists in deteriorating it while simultaneously leaving us in deep shadows of ... Joseph Conrad Heart of Darkness is a very famous book which has been considered by my many a key reading into the insight of colonialism. Heart of Darkness is a novel that focuses on colonialism of Africans specifically the Congo and the effect that has on the indigenous people who inhabit it as well the European colonists. The book focuses on a trip that the main character Marlow takes and what he sees and how it changes him. The book is based off the author Conrad real life experience when he traveled to the Congo and captained a ship that sailed down the Congo River. He would later become ill during his travel and returned home. He then returned home and wrote the Heart of Darkness. Heart of Darkness is a novel that looks at the true darkness of men in their quest for power and wealth. In my paper, I will give a summary of Heart Darkness its relation to colonialismand some of its major themes. The story itself seems to be a dramatized retelling of some of the experiences that Conrad saw on his own travels to the Congo. The story focuses on Marlow s job as captain of an ivory transporter ship. A major catalyst of the book is Marlow sailing the Congo to meet a man named Kurtz an ivory procurement worker who is said to be an idealistic but highly capable and smart man. Upon his travel to the central station, Marlow is shocked upon seeing what the European traders have done to the natives. Marlow discovers on his travels brutality and senseless overworking of the natives. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This battle was the most intricately planned operation on the Western front by the Allied troops during World War One. It was led by Canadian General, Sir Arthur Currie, and was the first time all four Canadian Corps fought together in the war. It was also the first time Canadian troops, led by a Canadian, shared a total Canadian victory. This battle was a defining event for Canada, as it was a major step in achieving full independence from the British. It was important for the growth of Canadian nationalism and pride. Alberta s Famous Five were a group of accomplished Canadian women involved in the Persons Case of 1927. At the time, The Constitution stated what requirements had to be met for a person to be delegated into the Canadian Senate, and other government jobs. For years, it had been a given that by a person they meant a man. The five women challenged Parliament and asked them whether or not women were seen as persons. When the case went to the Supreme Court of Canada in 1928, it was ruled that the Constitution meant persons as in men. However, when the British Privy Council heard of this decision, they vetoed it, and so ruled that women were indeed persons and eligible to be appointed to the Senate. • 19. The Management Of A Company How would you feel if you owned part of a company, but could not help make any decisions on the future of the company? Those who own majority of the company decide to hire mangers to make important decisions on your company. This is a general example on how shareholders run their company. Now wouldn t you rather help make decision, or be able to factor in ideas from the employees and community that has helped the business grow? If so, you might want to consider the stakeholders theory. Different stakeholders can hold varying amounts of influence and interest, within the organization. For example, consider a factory worker. An individual worker has large interests in the company, in terms of working conditions, salary, and benefits.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Internal stakeholders are described as the managers and employees of a company. Connected stakeholders are those that are beyond the immediate boundaries of the firm, while external stakeholders are those who are outside the firm. Some would say it is rather difficult to argue the stakeholders theory because there is not as much information on the subject as there is shareholders theory. They would argue that shareholders own most corporations; and presently, corporations owned by stakeholders would be unsuccessful in the long run. There has been some debate on the legitimacy of the concept of the stakeholder, according to Friedman and Miles. The stakeholder concept has not gone unchallenged. Many have reiterated the alternative stakeholder positions. Others have challenged implications of the stakeholder concept for certain groups (Friedman and Miles 118). Friedman and Miles go on to argue how stakeholders can weaken an organization, and even alter its long term characteristics. Assume that the stakeholder concept is infallible and consider the example of the factory worker. The company is publicly owned and is located in a more economically developed country (MEDC), where it will have a weaker influence from the government when compared to government owned companies. • 20. Historical Elements Of Verdi Prati The piece from my final recital programme that I chose to evaluate in this essay is Verdi Prati from Handel s opera Alcina. Alcina was inspired by a story from an epic poem called Orlando Furioso , however, Handel s libretto is a very free adaption. This particular aria is of great importance in the operaas we see the character Ruggerio predicting what is to come for Alcina and her magical island. The historical elements of this opera are extremely important in understanding the true meaning of the song Verdi Prati. In 1734, the period which was known as the Royal Academy of Music in British opera came to an end as Handel lost the tenancy on the King s Theatre in London. Handel s opponents took over the theatre, and the majority of his most important artists along with it. When he was offered the use of a new theatre ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her marvellous arias shock and captivate the listener in a similar way in which she dominates her lovers. This takes a basic story in new directions. She shares the stage mainly with Ruggiero, who under Alcina s spell, is her mortal husband and passionate lover and who is a leading castrato. Ruggiero predicts her coming defeat and ultimate vengeance in his nostalgic aria Verdi Prati. His role is full of delicate and elegant touches. This labeling is taught, but also it is something we as humans pick up on. Most of the time infants start to categorize gender by three months and are fully developed by one and half to two years old, and labeling by eighteen to twenty months (Hunt, 2016). At about two to three years old they start to develop the knowledge of roles of men and women hypothetically and start to stereotype men and women (Hunt, 2016).
