Children In The Chocolate War
Adults within The Chocolate War bring a variety of both positive and negative
messages for the adolescent characters to develop. In terms of positivity impacting
Jerry, his father plays an important role in helping him decide what he does not
want to be. In the novel Jerrys mother had died recently to a sickness. This resulted
in his father acting like a sleepwalker going through the motions and like a puppet
being maneuvered by invisible strings (The Chocolate War: 48). To Jerry this is
brought back up at the end of the chapter where he fears that he will become like
his father. After seeing some of the resemblance in the mirror he turned away
because he didn t want to be a mirror of his father (The Chocolate War: 53). The idea

Sex Offender Medications
The purpose of sex offender treatment is to alter the deviant sexual arousal patterns,
addressing social skills deficits that result in deviant behavior, to challenge the beliefs
that facilitate sex offending behavior, and to develop strategies to prevent sexual
reoffending. To resolve the above mentioned problems involves the use of both
medication and behavioral based treatment models. Medications that are used to
decrease sexual deviant behavior include synthetic progesterone derivatives such as
medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) and cyproterone (CPA), luteinizing hormone
releasing hormone agonist leuprolide acetate (LHRH), Tricyclic antidepressants
(TCAs), and serotonin specific reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) (Fong, 2006; Dolan, 2009).

deficits among sex offenders; empathy training programs which involve activities that
aim to enable an offender to understand the victim s perspective and experience of
the crime through the use of victim impact statement videos (Schaffer et al, 2010
Moster et al, 2008). Additional techniques for empathy deficits include having
offender write a letter to the family of the victim that they killed, and
psychoeducation around intimacy and healthy relationships may also be included if
it is determined that the offender has deficits in these areas (Schaffer et al, 2010;

Summary Of The Phantom Menace By Padme Amidale
In 1999, The Phantom Menace was released into theaters. The beginning of the saga
was brought to understand where the original trilogy s villain origin story came
from and where the famous twins Luke and Leia came from. Leia stole the hearts of
many in the original trilogy and it was now her mother s turn to take the spotlight.
Many did not welcome her character with open arms and rejected her. She was the
young naГЇve queen with a crazy fashion sense who had a crush on a nine year old
boy. At a very young age, Padme was interested in politics which happens to be a
male dominated career. Fourteen year old Padme Amidala was elected queen of
Naboo. While many would call her naГЇve, the planet elected the young for their
purity and believed age brought corruption. Age could have brought naivety, but
Padme had proven herself a leader her people trusted that once her second term
ended they wanted her to continue leading the planet. In episode I, Amidala deals
with the struggle of the Trade Federation who wants the planet to surrender to them
while they are controlled by Darth Sidious. It was a plan to gain control over the
galaxy with easier access since the young can be easily influenced. Amidala refused
that easy access over her planet from the Trade Federation. She is level headed to
not directly take action for war but to persuade the senate for a plead of help. When
the escape to Coruscant is delayed, she takes the opportunity to widen her knowledge
about the planet Tatooine
The Importance Of Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is grounded in seven core values (AOTA, 2008). Altruism,
equality, dignity, and prudence are four of the values that coincide directly to my
beliefs and philosophy related to obesity. Altruism encompasses indicating concern
for the well being of others (AOTA, 2015). As an occupational therapist, I need to
have concern for every client I have no matter what they look like. Equality means
treating everyone fairly and not showing bias. The purpose of taking the IAT test
was to display my biases and help me critically think how I can remain unbiased in
practice. Similarly, I can show dignity to my clients by always treating them with
respect. Lastly, as an occupational therapistI will use my clinical and ethical reasoning
skills to help make proper decisions for clients. This is referred to as prudence
(AOTA, 2015).
Principles and Standards of Conduct
Occupational therapy incorporates the client s personal preferences, circumstances,
and needs into a personalized healthy treatment that considers all preexisting medical
conditions (AOTA, 2008). Occupational therapy interventions pertaining to weight
management may include education programs, community programs of health
promotion, development of new routines and habits, and proposal of home
modifications. Research shows that occupational therapists who are informed about
potential interventions for obese clients are better able to help clients engage in

Southern Distinctiveness
The Lowland South is one of the more distinctive regions in the US. Language
accents are stronger and more diverse here than in any other part of the country.
Politics and religion are more conservative and fundamental than elsewhere.
Historically, settlement occurred later than in the North and at much lower densities.
African slaves were brought in to relieve the problems of under population. Today, the
Caribbean has become a major focus of the region s international trade and
immigration.

A high pressure system sits much of the year over the Atlantic Ocean between Florida
and north Africa. Known as the Bermuda High (and bringing great weather to
Bermuda most of time), this high pressure system circulates in a clockwise direction,
moving warm air from the equator into the South.
In the winter, this flow is occasionally broken by thrusts of cold arctic air from the
middle of the continent. (The cooler winter temperatures is what distinguishes the
Humid Subtropical climate from the year round Humid Tropical climate.) The Gulf
Coast, including Florida, receives the most precipitation (averaging 50 inches of
rainfall a year) and the warmest temperatures. The inland portions of the South
receive precipitation levels of 40 inches a year, while further north the Midwest
region averages 30 inches a year. Changing Images
Non Southerners have traditionally held rather negative images of the Lowland South
as a place of racial conflict, intolerable climate, and underdevelopment, yet, in recent
years, the South has grown as a major part of the Sunbelt. It is a distinct region which
is undergoing considerable dynamic change in the postindustrial US.

Lockheed Martin Case Summary
Overall, Lockheed Martin is a highly successful corporation. The organization is a
leader in the aerospace and security industry and is enjoying large financial gains.
However, given market volatility the corporation there are a few modifications the
organization may want to consider. A brief summary of the organization s situation
and, when appropriate, recommendations follows. An organization s mission, vision,
values, and goals drive organizational decisions and, when effective, positively impact
employee and business performance. Lockheed Martins mission, vision, values, and
goals are a perfect fit for the organization. The corporation has effectively
communicated them to the workforce, they are well understood, and successfully
achieved. The organization should continue to analyze the market, its workforce and

In Lockheed Martin s case, the organization has developed a strategy to expand
international sales, meet or exceed customer needs and reduce costs, and innovation
that will enable the corporation to continue to succeed in the marketplace. The
corporation should consider leveraging its current portfolio to move into more
commercial markets to help reduce the dependency on the United States government.
Lockheed Martin already has several sources of competitive advantage that it uses
effectively to gain leverage in the market place. However, given that the budget of its
main customer is highly volatile the corporation should look to other sources of
competitive advantage. It would be advantageous of the corporation to use its
innovate workforce and emerging technology to develop green aircraft that use less
fuel and emit less harmful emission. This would be a win for the environment, the
customer, and the corporation and clearly position the corporation as an industry

Merlin
Merlin stamped hard on Arthur s foot. George looked appalled. The envelope fell to
the floor. Arthur grabbed Merlin around his neck, pulled him close, and gave him a
noogie. Merlin squirmed for all he was worth, but Arthur grabbed both his arms in
one of his and kept rubbing firmly on his head. Merlinwanted to bite the prince to
make him let go, but figured that might be a step too far, especially in front of
witnesses. He tried kicking instead, but Arthur had him in an awkward position. His
face was jammed into Arthur s torso, so he couldn t even voice his protests.
See, he has much to learn about how civilized people conduct their affairs.
George said, As you say, sire, in a rather strangled voice.

Merlin turned his attention to the red, glitter covered envelope. What would the
Princess Morgana possibly have to send to him?
Not caring that he was sitting on the cold tiles of the tiny bathroom, he ripped open
the envelope. Shiny confetti fell out, silver snowflakes, evergreen trees, candy
canes, and golden stars. Merlin pulled out a delicate piece of parchment. Inside a
border of holly leaves and red berries, ornate writing proclaimed:
Her Royal Highness, the Princess Morgana Pendragon, cordially invites you to the
annual Camelot Palace Youth Christmas Party. This year s party will be held
Saturday, December 17, at 6:00 pm in the West Parlour. Formal dress required. Please
RSVP to the palace steward by December 15.
Merlin reread the invitation, bemused. How had he gotten invited to a party
hosted by the princess? He had no business attending an event like that. He wouldn
t know anybody except for Arthur, and he doubted the prince would want him to
tag along. He d probably pretend to not even know him, the scrawny little poor boy
from nowhere who was still sharing a bed with his mum. Besides, Merlin had no
formal clothes to wear. He really didn t think his worn out button up shirt was going
to cut it. Nor did he have any idea about how to interact with the kinds of hoity toity
people who were likely to be invited to such an event.
He left the bathroom and returned to his homework, leaving the party invitation
abandoned on the table, where it was quickly
The Birds By Daphne Du Maurier
Survival. As a famous saying goes, Sometimes even to live can be an act of courage.
Survival is not something most Americans think of first thing in the morning. For
some humans in the world, surviving is the most difficult task to complete in their
daily life; one reason being poverty. For Nat Hocken, it isn t poverty that made it
difficult for him to survive; it is birds. Birds are known to have a predominantly
positive connotation such as innocence, beauty, gentleness, nobility, and good omen.
In the story The Birds, the author Daphne Du Mauriercreates birds that are evil,
violent, ferocious, and savage creatures that are apparently hungry for humans. Nat,
living on a small farm, being physically disabled has to survive on his... Show more

Nat also had come to recognize the fact that if the government did try to help, it
wouldn t be any use for them. The government would first help its major population
in the cities; not the ones that live in some small rural farm. As a final point, Nat
was a critical thinker. Maurier says, he decided they must sleep in the kitchen... keep
up the fire...bring down their mattresses. He had everything planned beforehand and
was always planning his next step. Nat even calculated the times when it was the
most dangerous times to go out and when it wasn t. His wisdom was the reason his
family survived for such a long period of time.
Secondly, Nat was a very observant man. Maurier says that every day at work Nat
at midday would pause his work and watch the birds (Maurier 51). An average
person could have an hour long conversation with a friend in the coffee shop, but 5
minutes later can t remember what shirt they were wearing. This isn t a memory
problem; it s the same reason a person forgets why they just walked into the
kitchen. Humans have been accustomed to not notice such trivial things. Nat was
different because he would notice these small things. Maurier said, Jim s body laid
in the yard... cows trampled on...door...shut and bolted...close to telephone (Maurier
79) Here in front of Nat lays a dead body that has been trampled on by cows, but he is
able to pick out little details like the door being tightly
College Scorecard Case Study
In a push for education equality and against exploitation by for profit colleges, the
Obama administration has unveiled a College Scorecard highlighting schools with
the biggest bang for your buck.
The end product of a two year investigation of 7,000 institutions of higher education,
the College Scorecard differs from other university ranking systems by comparing
college costs to graduation rates, loan repayment rates, and average post graduate
salaries. The resulting college search engine tool, available at
collegescorecard.ed.gov, encourages recipients of Pell grants and student loans to
apply to schools with high graduation rates and post graduate salaries.
The Obama administration is also sharing the data it found with major college ...

One of the purposes of College Scorecard is to make prospective students as
business minded as these colleges: if schools only care about their bottom line,
then students deserve to be able to use the same logic, choosing a school based on
how likely they are to graduate from it and find a well paid job, based on how much
they have to pay for it.
Obama s Dream, Partially Realized
Obama first announced this plan two years ago. But back then, it was more
ambitious: not only would it rank all 7,000 schools based on their worth from a
student perspective, but it would even penalize high cost, low reward universities and
for profit colleges by restricting their access to Pell grants and Federal student loans,
shifting these benefits to more worth it schools. The idea was that taxpayers should
not be subsidizing tuition that profits institutions more than students.
The idea garnered scathing criticism. Much of it came from presidents of the very
high cost universities and for profit schools who would have been penalized by the
program. They paid to lobby against the plan and save their backs. They seem to have
The Consequences Of War Peter Rubens
The Consequences of War was painted in 1638 1639 by Peter Rubens for the Medici
family. Peter Rubens was a humanist and a Northern Renaissance Flemish painter
who was famous for his mythological and historical style, unlike most Reformation
artists. Peter Rubens, at the time of this painting, was also a diplomat living in the
midst of the Thirty Year s War
. He used this to express his feelings on the conflict,
which were not positive. The center of attention was put on Mars, the Roman god
of war, and Venus, the Roman god of love and beauty. The Classical references
used in The Consequences of War are very direct. The veiled woman in black on the
left, representing the people of Europe, along with Venus can be seen grabbing
desperately at Mars,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Immediately when one looks at The Consequences of War, the dark and somber
mood isn t difficult to pick up on. The whole painting gives off an aura of the
inevitability, the tragedies, and the horrors of war. This reflects the diplomat
Rubens thoughts on the issue perfectly. He believed that if war comes, then
tragedy and horror are as inevitable as God s will. The fact he reflected his beliefs
in his painting is a humanistic belief. He used his painting to cause change in the
importance of diplomacy, to reform society. The Consequences of War embodies
the Renaissance belief of humanism because it was painted by one individual who
believed he could be significant in the world and cause change for the better by
using his knowledge and abilities. The way by which Peter Rubens accomplishes
this in his painting is influenced by other Renaissance beliefs. The most notable of
these was his use of mythological characters to represent the literal consequences of
war rather than to paint them directly. This is just one part of Peter Rubens use of
Classicism in The Consequences of War. He distastes the musician and the architect
being tossed aside and ignored, which shows the revival of the Classical belief of the
importance of music and the arts. Furthermore, the book being crushed under Mars
feet show Rubens desire for a learned populace, which
The Juvenile Justice System And Juveniles
When it comes to discussing the criminal justice system and juveniles, there have
been many landmark cases that have made a significant impact on the juvenile
justice system. The cases arise from dealing with certain aspects that comes from
handling juveniles entering the system. Since juveniles are very different from
adults they have to deal with them a certain way and a case by case basis. The
court cases concerning juveniles and the decisions that have come from them is
what has made what the juvenile justice system is today. Juveniles are not treated
the same as adults since juveniles are not ad developed as adults common sense
wise. They don t always know what is right from wrong and sometimes they do not
have guidance or good influences around them helping them in the right direction. In
class we have learned that instead of punishing them, the goal of the juvenile justice
system is based on rehabilitation. For instance, juveniles cannot be sentenced to
death if under the age of 18 and also can not be given the sentences of life without
parole because they consider these punishments cruel and unusual for juveniles. If the
system is able to rehabilitate them and give them the tools they need, they have a
second chance at changing their lives for the better and getting away from all of the
crimes. They rather try to send them to programs or to complete community service
to better themselves instead of giving them hard time. The court cases that I will
discuss is what
The Excavation Of The Uluburun Shipwreck
In the summer of 1982, a local Turkish sponge diver named Mehmed Cakir set out
on a normal morning dive. In the Bay of Antalya in the Mediterranean Sea near the
city of Kas, the diver took a boat not too far off shore. During his dive, he found
what he described as metal biscuits with ears and reported them to the Institute of
Nautical Archaeology in Kas. The INA then sent a team to the shoreline to discover
what would end up being the Uluburun, the oldest shipwreckever excavated.
The site of the Uluburun shipwreck is just 50 meters (160 feet) off the eastern shore
of Uluburun, and 6 miles southeast of the city Kas, Turkey. Excavation of the
Uluburun shipwreck began in July of 1984 and lasted until late 1994. It was split
up into eleven campaigns, each lasting around three to four months. The Institute of
Nautical Archaeology controlled the entire excavation; however it was led by two
different nautical archaeologists. Dr. George F. Bass initiated the preliminary
campaign in 1984 and was taken over by Dr. Cemal Pulak in 1985 until 1994. Dr.
George F. Bass is recognized as one of the early practitioners of underwater
archaeology. In 1960, Bass was the director of the first archaeological expedition to
entirely excavate an ancient shipwreck, Cape Gelidonya, which is not far from the
site of the Uluburun. When Bass left the project to teach, Pulak took over and has
been directing INA s annual shipwreck surveys in Turkey since 1982.
The location of the Uluburun brought

This has many advantages, such as the fact that double fertilization guarantees that
the endosperm will develop only in ovules where the egg has been fertilized. It also
avoids angiosperms from wasting nutrients. 13.Explain how fertilization in animals is
similar to that in plants.
пѓ Fertilization in animals is similar to that in plants because its first cellcell
change occurs after gamete fusion rises in the cytoplasmic Ca2+ levels as it does
in animal gamete fusion. Also, the plants make a block to polyspermy, which is the
fertilization of an egg by more than one sperm cell, as do the animal s cell s eggs.
14.Describe the fate of the ovule and ovary after double fertilization. Note where
major nutrients are stored as the embryo develops.
пѓ After double fertilization, the ovule matures into a seed, and the ovary matures
into a fruit encircling the seed. As the embryo grows the seed stores proteins, oils, and
starch. 15.Describe the development and function of the endosperm. Distinguish
between liquid endosperm and solid endosperm.
пѓ After embryo development, endosperm is growth to store nutrients. This happens
after double fertilization, when the triploid nucleus of the ovule s central cell divides.
This causes the formation of a milky multinucleate supercell . This becomes
multicellular after cytokinesis. Finally, when the cell walls are completed, the
endosperm becomes solid. 16.Describe the development of

manipulating audience responses to characters and narrative events. In About Last

camera was facing the actors face reflecting on the sadness their past brought into
the present. The couple were fighting since Danny isn t as stabled as Debbie; he

YTM AND HPR
Yield to maturity (YTM) reflects the return required and set by the market on the
assumption that the bond is held to maturity. In equilibrium, it is also the return that
investors can expect to earn over the life of the bond. Holding Period Return (HPR)
is the expected return over a future period, and is not based on the assumption that the
bond is held to maturity. SIMILARITIES п‚· п‚· п‚· Both expressed as annualised
returns (not effective rates) Use the settlement price as cost base Total returns
accounting for both the coupon interest component and the capital gain/loss
component
DIFFERENCES п‚· п‚· п‚· YTM is observed and set by the market, HRP is not
YTM assumes that coupon interests are all invested at the same rate as quoted YTM,
HPR allows for different reinvestment interest rates received at different times YTM

investments over the same predetermined holding period. However, to accomplish
this task, future interest rates for different lengths are required.

Women s Role In World War II
World War II, the deadliest war in history, played a key role in the history of not
only Britain, but the whole world. The war allowed new jobs, skills, and
opportunities for many people. In World War II more than 50 million people lost
their lives, among those people were men and women ( World War II Death Toll of
All Nations ). People often times seem to neglect the fact that women were just as
important to the war effort as men were, and only focus on how men were the
soldiers. Women made the war possible. During World War II, women were often
recognized for their contributions, but now when people refer to World War II, only
men are acknowledged. Women were just as important as men in World War II
because they played a key role in aiding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The war would not be possible without some of the many volunteer organizations
women started during the war. Many women moved away to take advantage of
wartime opportunities, but those who did not began setting up volunteer
organizations at home to help the war. One example is women raising money for
war bonds, so that there could be equipment and enough money for the war ( BBC
History British History in Depth: Women Under Fire in World War Two ). Women
also recruited blood donors. This was very important during the war because
blood, especially during the war, was always at a constant need. In order to help in
anyway possible, women also tried to become as knowledgeable about the war as
they could. Many women took classes on map reading, morse code, and convoy
driving (McEuen). Another thing women put together at home was victory gardens.
These gardens helped with the lack in food supply during World War II. Women
tried their best to plant and grow food so that the shortage of food would not be such
a problem to the community. These victory gardens became a very helpful part of the
war. In the government, many women worked advertising the war and trying to get
people to support their country. To achieve their goal of support, they created
propaganda to appeal to everyone. Some of the propaganda included posters,
billboards, films, and radio announcements (McEuen). Women
Women s Traditional Cultural Values Of Gender Roles
Abstract
Human trafficking is a heinous crime and a horribly profitable business which
affects hundreds of millions of people every year worldwide. In Nepal, women and
girls are more often trafficked than men, either within the country or to brothels in
India. They make easy prey because of the poor economic status of many Nepalese
citizens and the fact that most women and girls in Nepal do not have education
and are completely illiterate. Traffickers are able to abduct them from their lives
and trap them, threatening to hurt them or their loved ones if they attempt to
escape or disobey. At the brothels, they will contract disease, get raped, and be
forced to work tirelessly for fear of facing the wrath of their abductors. In this essay,
a critical analysis will be conducted on Nepal s traditional cultural values of gender
roles. In this patriarchal society, favoring men over women may not just put women
at a socioeconomic advantage, it could put women at an alarmingly high risk of being
sold into prostitution.

Super Size Me Social Cognitive Theory
The film, Super Size Me, was a documentary that was created to show the harmful
effects of McDonalds. Morgan created this film to mainly display that fast food is
becoming a ritual in North American. This movie showed McDonalds could really
affect a person s health. Eating fast food repeatedly can cause serious liver issues,
cholesterol problems, chest pains and obesity. Morgan mentions everything time he
consumes his meals from McDonalds he always feels down and depressed. This
shows that the foodyou eat can absolutely affect your mood. Morgan gained over
twenty pounds eating McDonalds three times a day for thirty days straight. He surely
exposed the phrase you are what you eat along with proving why Americans continue
to be overweight with obesity on the rise.
The theory I chose that relates to this movie is the Social Cognitive Theory. Also the
article I chose is based on individuals with type two diabetes. The purpose of this
study was to correlate and moderate to vigorous exercise with these individuals and
determine their self efficacy, self regulation and social support. Adults... Show more

For example, individuals in the movie have spoken about eating McDonalds twice
a day. This movie also shows negative effects of poor food choices and sedentary
activity. Before Morgan started eating McDonalds, he was at a healthy weight and
had an above average cardiovascular endurance. After thirty days of eating
McDonalds, he becomes overweight and decreased his cardiovascular endurance
significantly and almost suffered from liver failure. A major issue people have is
complaining about having lack of time due to a busy life schedule. Therefore, an
individual s environment can affect the development of personal characteristics as
well as a person s behavior to keep making choices based on how they think or

Change In Middle School
Change is inexorable its how we grow. When people change, they develop and get
knowledgeable .When elementary students are promoted to middle school they
become more cultured, center on momentous conditions, and acquire an advanced
perspective on life. Once students enter middle school they become more mature.
Most students in elementary might have been silly or very immature, but as they
enter middle schoolthey become better developed. Some students might tend to be
more diligent, conscientious, and not loiter around. Students begin to take issues
earnestly and not laugh at every comment made by their peers. A student remembers
being operative and reading while others laughed and played. When entering middle
schoolmaturity is something most attain which causes them to focus on more
important situations. Another thing that changes is student s ability to focus. In
elementary students might have had a lack of focus, focused on the wrong issues, or
not have a focus at all. While in middle school, students focus on their studies and the

Students see how things work due to their experience in middle school, they see so
many wonderful things about life. Numerous changes occur to students in middle
school and students perceive life and transform tremendously. Lou Holtz said Life
is 10% what happens and 90% how you respond to it , this is how change works.
The way we mature, tend to focus on important things, and get a new perspective

The Field Of Business Ethics
In the field of business, ethics is something which can be considered from different
viewpoints, from the business firm to the employee in the firm s customer. Ethics is a
concept which finds its basis in the moral principles which have been accepted and
advocated by society. Each aspect of ethical behaviour has been ingrained in the
culture of human beings to essentially provide guidance in distinguishing what is
wrong from what is right. Due to the high involvement of businesses within
communities, they are also responsible for acknowledging and acting upon ethical
behaviour. Although this appears to be within the common ground in the theoretical
role and purpose of businesses in society, in practice this is not necessarily always the

Among the major business ethics related theories there is Friedman s, developed in
the 1970s in the US (Harrison, 2010, pp. 186 187). The following quote from
Friedman s thesis, sums up his general view of the social responsibility businesses
have in society: There is one and only one social responsibility of business to use
its resources (...) to increase its profits so long as it stays within the rules of the
game, (...) engages in open and free competition without deception or fraud.
(Horrigan, 2010, p.92) Friedman s thesis was simple and is still relevant to today,
simply that businesses should act in order to increase their profit as they are meant to
but without fraudulent behaviour, respecting the rules of the social contract. Deriving
from Friedman s thesis there is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which simply
states that businesses should be taking responsibility for the economic, social,
ethical, and environmental impacts of its activities . An increasing number of
companies have adopted CSR policies, in an attempt to help their community as
well as diminishing to some extent certain negative impacts they could be causing
e.g. pollution. (Harrison, 2010, pp.191 193) The importance of ethics for society
and business alike is self explanatory, it simply stands to ensure behaviour which is
both correct and beneficial for each entity which is affected. In fact it appears as

Character Analysis Of Johnny In The Outsiders By S. E.
Hinton
Can you imagine the guilt and heroism? The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is about the
fighting between the Socs and Greasers, which takes place in Oklahoma. It tells
the story of the struggles among the groups and what they think is right and wrong
with society. One character that stands out in the story is Johnny, because he is a
dynamic character who changes from being shy and quiet, to being a hero and a
round character because he has many personality traits such as being shy, quiet,
and heroic. Johnny can be described as scared, quiet, and heroic. Johnny can be
described as scared for many reasons. An example is when he was in the hospital
and was scared of dying. On page 121, he says I don t want to die now. It aint long
enough. Sixteen years aint long enough. This shows Johnny was scared and not
ready to die, because his sixteen years on the streets he had learned and seen all the
wrong things. Another example is when Johnny gets scared when the Socs come
down the road in their mustang. Page 31, Ponyboy tells how Johnny started
breathing heavily and was staring at the Socs hand, who was wearing three rings.
Therefore, that is why Johnny is scared everywhere he goes because he fears getting
jumped by the Socs again. From these examples it is clear that Johnny is scared of
dying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is apparent when Two Bit said he wondered why Johnny and Ponyboy were
such good friends because neither of them talked. On page 39, it says You must
make such interesting conversation, Ponyboy keeping his mouth and you not saying
anything. This shows that Johnny is quiet and doesn t talk much. Another example
is when he was with Ponyboy at the movie and they were sitting by the Soc girls
and he was being quiet. On page 24, it says Johnny managed a shy Hi to the girls
and tried to watch the movie. This means Johnny was quiet and always nervous
around strangers. As you can see Johnny is extremely quiet and doesn t say much

Innovative Thinking Essay: Product Service System
It was amid a midyear break when the inverter at my place required an overhauling
which was expected by organization s arrangement. In any case, the organization lost
a track of its past records that demonstrated the third due administration. After a great
deal of bothers and protests the issue was settled. Notwithstanding, this occurrence
made me end with that organization and joining another. A large number of
companies are unable to keep up the track of their administrations which causes them
a big time loss.
Each business plans to build its deal breaking its past records. Furthermore, the best
way to do it is to draw in new clients as well as to keep up them after deals. An
organization that prioritizes its customers will always be referred. The primary
purpose behind the decrease of offers in an organization is its absence of duty to give
appropriate administrations to its clients. An enlisted grumbling is here and there
which is sometimes not attended by the organization which prompts expanded
grievances among the shoppers prompting decrease in the sales. Sometimes the
organization is not ready to keep up the record of the administrations of a client which
prompts a more prominent perplexity in the association. Another issue related to less
customer satisfaction is the inability to solve the problem on time.
One solution to this problem is to
Imogen Alternate Ending
Kristina walked up to Imogen and handed her the necklace back and said, Well I
guess we will see you at five?
Imogen smiled and took the necklace putting it on. Yup, see you then guys. Imogen
grabbed the bag of books and her laptop from the couch and headed outside to go to
the bus stop.
Imogen s class went by very slow. The clock on the wall in the front of the stiff, plain
room went by painfully slow. Imogen knew that she should be paying more attention
on this, but the thought of finally knowing her biological parents and why they gave
her up for adoption made her completely forget about everything going on, imagining
what her mom would be like. In the middle of day dreaming, the class got up and out
of their seats and started to leave. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, what is the significance of the necklace? Well I have always been called me
pooka by my mother growing up. We found out that pooka means butterfly, so that s
the reason for the butterfly. The birthstone is because both your father and I were
born in February. Vanessa answered.
Vanessa and Imogen talked for a bit more. They talked about their interests and they
caught each other up on their lives. Imogen and her mother got ice cream together
and talked and just enjoyed her presence.
The main thing that Imogen was worried about was the reason why she was put up
for adoption. Since all of her questions that she had were answered, all the feelings
that she once had about her mother faded away and her replaced with new ones. The
anger that Imogen had towards her mother was replaced with love. The hurt and
rejection was replaced with happiness. The disgust of giving someone up for no
reason was replaced with understanding of the reason
The Notebook Ethos
Behind Great Love Lies A Great Story Nicholas Sparks tragic love story The
Notebook is a touching story about two people and their eternal passion of true
love which is beautifully portrayed by Nick Cassavetes in the film. Pathos is used
in the film to draw members of the audience to the characters and influence them to
feel passionate towards the characters. Cassavetes does this by making the movie
more dramatic than the book. The director effectively uses pathos to add drama in
The Notebook which makes the movie s audience more emotionally connected to the
story. The plot is evidently more climatic as the main events are exaggerated in the
film. The feel of the overall screenplay is distinctive than the novel. The characters

The different descriptions and dialogues of Allie and Noah are what bring the
change into their relationship. In the novel, Noah is described as a quiet and shy
poet. Although he was quiet, years of heavy lifting at the lumberyard helped him
excel in sports, ... An occasional person found him arrogant; most simply figured
he had grown up a bit faster than everyone else. (Sparks 24) Whereas in the film,
Noah is very outgoing and confident. He does not stop until he gets what he wants.
This is evident when Noah climbs on the ferris wheel and hangs from the bars at
the carnival where he asks Allie to go out with him. She refuses and he blackmails
her by making her think that he will fall down from such a height. Allie becomes
frightened and agrees to go out with him, little did she know that this was his plan
all along. The change in Noah s description changes his personality and the way the
audience views him as an individual character. Allie and Noah s tone of dialogues
are also changed to make them seem more modern. In the book, Allie agrees to
spend time with Noah without any objection. ...the four of them stayed at the
festival until the crowds were thin and everything closed up for the night. They
met the following day, and the day after that, and they soon became inseparable.
(Sparks 13) This circumstance would not exist in today s society as females have
their personal preferences. This is seen in the movie when Allie plays hard to get
and rejects Noah several times when he reminds her of the date. What are you
doing tonight? ... Why? Why? Our date. What date? The date that you agreed to.
No! Yes, you did. You promised, and you swore it. Well, I guess I changed my mind.
... Come on, one date. What s it gonna hurt? Umm..I don t think so. (Cassavetes)
Noah is also very understanding with Allie s decision to leave him

Mobile Devices For A Large Geographical Area Wirelessly
Essay
#1 The concept of a wireless network is to be able to provide a broad range of
coverage to a large geographical area wirelessly (Techtarget, n. d.). Further, a
wireless network gives one an advantage to connect wirelessly to other devices in
separate areas of coverage. In healthcare, a wireless network is used to improve
access, reduce errors and deliver an accurate healthcare information anywhere and at
any given period among patients and healthcare providers (IEEE, 2003). Mobile
devices, such as tablets, smartphones, personal digital assistant (PDA) and other
handheld devices have made it possible to have a broad range of efficient healthcare
applications (IEEE,2003). The mobile devices used by healthcare providers at a
patient bedside can be used to monitor and manage patient information s wirelessly
(searchhealthIT, 2016).
Some of the examples of the wireless WAN I am familiar with are (a) Asynchronous
Transfer Mode (ATM) that is a new computer and communication technology used to
transfer data, voice, and video to transfer information consecutively over a
communication line. Also, ATM is a technology that is connection oriented and
universally enable the transfer mode of choice broadband integrated services digital
network; and in ATM, information field is transferred transparently (Rajan
Selvakumar, 2016). Additionally, ATM data are broken down into fixed sizes and
sent over WAN network, and it also causes minimal latency (Cowley, 2012). (b)

No Impact Man by Colin Beavan
We can all change the people around us by changing ourselves. Colin Beavan looks
at the world differently than most people. Little by little the human population is
slowly diminishing the means of having a sustainable and healthy environment to
live in. We are unaware of the harmful effects most things we use every single day
have on the environment. Colin Beavan decided to make a positive impact on the
environment to teach people about the negative consequences that would happen,
if we were to keep living in an unsustainable way. For an entire year Colin Beavan,
his wife Michelle, and his two year old daughter Isabella lived a life with no impact
to the environment. The year was filled with several challenges that they had to
overcome as a family. Well to start, by buying the audio book of No Impact Man by
Colin Beavan, I have already helped the environment out in a positive way, as to
buying a paperback copy. When I first began reading No Impact Man by Colin
Beavan many emotions ran through my mind. I personally never put much thought
into how my everyday life can effect the environment. I never understood why
Beavan would want to put himself through a year of torture, let alone his wife and
two year old daughter. I have nothing against bettering the environment in a positive
way. I just could never see myself taking it to the extent that Beavan took it to. I
didn t agree with the fact that he was forcing his two year old daughter to participate
as well, for the

automobiles and benefits of driver assist systems, autonomous cars will not be

In fact, no car ever emits a drumming noise when the car drifts out of lane. Alerting

depends on the car. On most cars that have electric steering, LKA is tied in with the

Only allowing a President two terms is in itself very demeaning. Regardless of
their effect and influence, their days are inevitably numbered. History shows that
previous Presidents have had very effective years towards the end of the first term.
The following term being terrible due to the microscope challenging them daily.
All ideas or promises presented during each campaign cannot be accomplished in
four calendar years, let alone the four gained after re election. The president s
success lies in the society of America. Many people feel that challenging our
founding fathers and the amendment is disrespectful or unnecessary, but the current
way has shown a negative outcome for previous Presidents. If future Presidential
candidates had no limit, but a stipulation before returning to the office after the first
two terms, we as American citizens would have an effective country. The
effectiveness of a President after his second term is massively impaired. In light of
the fact that he cannot run again, respect and obedience for the President declines
drastically. The limit creates a mindset that challenges the President s standpoint
and views. Limits open up an overload of criticism that wouldn t be present if
Presidential candidates were allowed another 4 years to continue his vision. Despite
the fact Presidents have always been limited to 8 years in office, the limit should be
raised to allow candidates access to their full potential. Presidential candidates are

June In Erdrich s Love Medicine
June is an alcoholic who cannot manage to keep a job. She tried everything, from
beautician to secretary, however everything she tried fell through (9). She has a
problem with alcohol. Her sisters blame her death on her drinking problem, saying
she probably drank too much (9). Despite these negative traits, Erdrich develops her
characterinto a multi dimensional portrait by allowing people to have varying views
on June. In fact the novelis split into many perspectives, which challenges the reader
to consider everything from multiple viewpoints. Her niece Albertine remembers her
as so sharp and determined (9). Albertine s view of June presents her in a different
light, which enables the reader to consider a different perspective of June.... Show

In order to convey the trait of poverty, Erdrich employs the use of imagery, even the
setting reflects their impoverished state. In the beginning of the novel, the road
leading towards the reservation is described as having ruts and holes (11). The
surrounding land was a dull tan the dry ditches, the dying crops (11). Erdrich s visual
imagery gives the reader a mental image of a desolate environment. In addition,
Erdrich references dust twice on page eleven, giving the impression of the prairies
during the dustbowl, which occurred during the 1930 s when the world was going
through the Great Depression, allowing the reader to subconsciously connect the
environment of the reservation as poor, neglected and bleak. The grim environment
creates sympathy for the female characters, many of whom live on the reservation. In
addition, there is the alliteration of the letter d . This emphasises the poverty in which
these characters live in by bringing attention to the dull , dry and dying environment
of the reservations. Despite the despondent surroundings, Erdrich s poetic style
pushes the reader to consider this environment as a home, rather than merely a

Comparing All My Sons And A Streetcar Named Desire
Both Arthur Miller s All My Sons and Tennessee Williams s A Streetcar named
Desire exhibit numerous indirect social purposes that can relate to the societal
issues today. Miller is able to inform the audience about the classic corruption of
the American Dream as well as his idea of social accountability in a similar
approach to how Williams discusses the issues of mental health and spousal violence.
Each are able to achieve their indirect social purposes to educate the audience about
these problems with similar devices but with different ones as well.
Williams employs the use of outer dialogue in order to achieve his social purpose on
mental health. Within A Streetcar Named Desire, Williams utilizes the conversations
between her characters, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Chris reads the letter from his brother, Larry, in the falling action in Act 3, it
becomes apparent that Joe Keller s actions have significantly affected his family.
Larry cannot bear to live any more and cannot seem to face anybody because of the
choices his father has made. This invokes a heartbroken mood for the ending of
the play because the audience can feel how drastically Keller s choices have
impacted his son, as he commits suicide. Unlike Williams s use of motifs, Miller s
change in mood causes the audience to realize that there is a connection between the
individual and society as they can feel the pain that Larry has experienced because of
Keller.
Overall, both Williams s A Streetcar Named Desire and Miller s All My Sonsinform
their audiences about various social issues with similar and different devices in
order to achieve their purpose. Both plays utilize outer dialogue in order to present
the issues with the American Dream in Miller s work and mental health with
Williams. However, they also use different devices such as motifs or mood to raise
other problems in society such as spousal abuse and social

Summary Of The Response To Intervention
Chapter 3 The Response to Intervention, Referral, and Placement Process Reflection
and Summary By: S. Elizabeth Jackson Examining the Response to Intervention
(RTI) ProcessResponse to Intervention (RTI) is an in school service program
designed to guarantee that all students are getting a high quality education. Before
students are referred for special education services, it is essential that they receive
effective teaching designed to meet their own learning requirements. All students in
public schools are required to be included in the RTI program. While the different
program may vary from state to state, the basis of the models are the same. The RTI
process has three tiers. In tier one is labeled curriculum based classroom... Show more

Teachers, during tier one, should closely follow the GREAT guidelines. Teachers
are also expected to differentiate instruction for those who are struggling. Tier two
teachers expected to collect extensive data on the at risk student. Teachers are to
collect data not only on information the student got wrong, but also when they were
correct. This aids in a more correct placement, if needed. The final tier of the RTI
process, tier three, is where all the data collection comes into play. In order for a
student to be admitted into tier three, there has to be adequate evidence to support
this claim. The teacher needs to continue to collect data to provide information on
whether or not the student has made progress with the interventions in place. The
teacher may asked to organize the data collected during the previous interventions.
The text suggest that the teacher may be asked to collect this data in the form of a
visual aid, such as a bar graph. Process of Determining if a Student has a Disability
and the Responsibilities of the Teacher When all the tiers of RTI have been utilized,
the Students Support Team (SST) decides if the next appropriate step for the student
is a referral to special education. Biased on the information gathered during the RTI
process, the SST will appraise and see if the student meets the criteria for one of the
IDEA categories of disability. The disability or impairment must have an unwanted
Care For Health Campaign Essay
The care for health campaign was the first family planning promotion to be done in
Russia and it helped increase the use of modern contraceptives by 12%. It was part of
the womenВґs reproductive health program (WRHP) which involved training of
health care providers, advocacy and research. This intervention resulted in increase in
family planningcounselling for women, longer continuation rates of contraceptives
and increase in clinic attendance for family planning in the intervention areas. This
program was birthed in 1994 by the US Agency for international development to
improve the health of children and women by promoting the change in the current
family planning communication and service delivery system resulting in a greater...

The objectives of a campaign should resonate with the strategy (Myanmar, 2013).
This is the point where one asks questions such as what do I need to do to achieve
the overall goal of the campaign? In this case, one of the campaign objectives was to
increase knowledge and positive attitudes towards modern contraceptives. In so
doing, the campaign would be meeting the overall strategy which was to bring family
planning to the public arena and to highlight its importance.
Choosing an age bracket is also essential as one is able to seclude the target
audience in order to make the campaign strategy more effective. The age bracket for
women chosen was 18 30. This was also an appropriate age since it is the prime age
for reproduction.
One of the activities done was to disseminate the family planning message through
national television. The airtime was donated by the prime minister then. This was
effective as the message reached women throughout Russia and the neighboring
countries. The campaign also used a disco event to promote family planning
communication.
The second reading (A Mainstream Product Continues to Shed its Taboo Past) is a

Counter Transference
Transference and Counter transference
Based on Bateman and Holmes (1995), the most straightforward classical definition
of the dynamic aspect of transference may be summarized as a process by which
the patient transfers onto his analyst past experiences which he previously
experienced in relation to significant persons such as his mother, father or siblings
earlier in life. The patient is unaware of this false connection, and experiences the
feelings not as if they belong to the past but as directly relevant to the present. In the
case of Zahra, at the beginning of counseling, she used to react to most of my

In this respect, they shared some memories of their childhood and adolescence
when they wanted to say something in the class and they did not get the chance to
do that. In these occasions, they would have insisted on sharing their point even if
the time had passed and the discussion was over. Doing so, made their teacher, in
preschool, to consider it as a sign of ADHD when Morgan said something
irrelevant to the class discussion. Morgan remembers that the point that they
insisted on sharing, belonged to previous class discussion that they did not get the
chance to talk about it earlier. It may probably be explained from recurrent
conflicts perspective. Based on this perspective, patterns of conflict remain
relatively immutable as a childhood acquisition (Schlessinger and Robbins, 1975).
In Morgan s case, my interpretation is that when they do not get the chance to talk
or to assert their point, they feel neglected. Being neglected is so intolerable for
them because they have been neglected since being a child and it caused them to go
through tough experiences in their life. For example they were sexually and
behaviorally abused by their step father for some years while their mother knew
about that. Morgan explicitly referred to such experiences as indications for being
neglected by their
How The Character And Quality Of Open Space Differ
Across...
How does the character and quality of open space vary in different parts of
London, and what are the factors affecting this? London, an area of 1,572 square
kilometers, is home to 8.7 million people. According to Greenspace Information
for Greater London (GiGL), up to 39% of Greater London can be classified as
green open space 14.2m2 per resident, of which nearly half (17.88% of total space)
is classified as being parks or woodland. In this essay I will be discussing how the
character and quantity of these open spaces differ across two areas, Tower
Hamlets (TH) and The City, before suggesting key factors affecting them. First
though we must define the question, by explaining the key terms. Open Space can
be interpreted in different ways, however I understand it to refer to green space
(parks, woodlands, gardens) but also the open river and canal space, or the open
air in the capital. I interpret character as the type of open space, the size and
location in relation to other land use (commercial, industrial or residential), and
overall feel of the space. Quality is interpreted as the standard of the space (for
example how well maintained, features available and overall air quality). Finally, the
variation across the city refers to how the style and standard of these spaces differ
across the 1000mile2 area, comparing similarities, patterns and exceptions across
boroughs. One variation in the character and quality between TH and The City is the

Part I Kaiser Manufacturing Company has been in business for over 50 years using
the standard method staffing. Hiring its own employees, training, managing and all
human resources issues were all handled in house. The option is now arising to use an
employment agency, FSS, to relieve the burden from Kaiser Manufacturing
Company. It is important to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of this option
before changing the entire business plan Kaiser Manufacturing Company has

Though FSS takes care of a lot of the task Kaiser Manufacturing Company does now
it does not come without a fee and stipulation. The markups could cost more than
what the company is currently paying when doing its own staffing. Kaiser
Manufacturing Company has to decide if the savings/cost associated with the
markups is worth the convenience. Part III. When making this decision Kaiser
Manufacturing Company may want to consider doing research on how other
company s in its industry have done wither contingent workers. This is important
because some industries have to be heavily involved in finding its employees and
retaining them. Finding out the policy behind bring an employee on as a full time
employee and what stipulations follow with that. Knowing whether there is a
certain amount of time an employee has to a contingent worker before making them
full time and if that time is not met is there a fee associated with bringing them on
early. Some staffing agencies will make a company payout the employees contract
in order to hire them full time. Understanding the impact FSS will have on the day
to day aspect of Kaiser Manufacturing Company is important, in the beginning will
someone be able to assist with the transition? Is it necessary to have someone in
house as a go to for all contingent workers and is
Eyes Wide Open By Richard Powers
Eyes Wide Open by Richard Powers discusses ways of education in the past one
thousand years and strives to find the necessary things needed to improve it in the
next thousand years. Three assertions he closed the piece with are asking not how
things ought to be but how things are, finding out not what we should do with the
world, but what we can make the world do, and the next thousand years must make
up the difference, returning subtlety and richness and morals and lightness of spirit to
the long human experiment, if any part of it is to survive. Plato, Pierce, Whitehead,
Bloom and many others have commented on this idea of how knowledgeand
education were and/or how it should continue to be. In my opinion, the idea of
science behind everything is necessary and most likely enough to lead us toward the
best form of education for the next millennium. The importance of looking at the
world of how things are, not how things ought to be, is an controversial part of
taking the step toward the ideal future of education that I and many writers would
agree with. ...if the time required for readjustment was not short wouldn t he provoke
ridicule? Wouldn t it be said of him that he had returned form his upward journey
with his eyes ruined, and that it is not worthwhile even to try to travel upward? (Plato
2). By asking these obvious questions throughout The Allegory of the Cave, Plato
shows that the ideal situation is not always the outcome. In this case, after the
Modern Dance History
The history of modern dance dates back as early as the 19th century when Isadora
Duncan, began her career as a performer and choreographer, leading her to evolve
into one of the world s most renown and innovative modern dance influences of the
time. A rich history followed with the birth of other significant and revolutionary
individuals such as Martha Graham in 1894 (Terry, 2017) and George Balanchine in
1904 (Walker, 2017). These pioneers of dance, introduced the world to a new style of
choreography, originally derived from and based upon romantic classical ballet. The
Oxford Dictionary (1989) defines modern danceas a free expressive style of dancing
that developed in the early 20th century as a reaction to classical ballet. Classical
ballet has a rigid style, it requires supreme discipline and structured movement.
Modern dance was established as an alternative way to perform, where dancers were
not restricted by costume or movement and used this freedom to push visual
boundaries. Many people criticised the choreography and reviewers in the 1930 s
1940 s wrote of how it was unsavoury and distasteful (Gilbert, 1999), although,
eventually becoming a worldwide phenomenon. It can be argued that Balanchine,
Graham and Duncan were inevitably the three most significant dance figures in the
development of modern dance choreography from foundations built by romantic
classical ballet.
A variety of expert sources highlight that there has been a clear development of
modern dance
Csr And Corporate Social Responsibility
ABSTRACT Different scholars and professors have defined CSR or Corporate
Social Responsibility in many ways. Generally, CSR includes the responsibilities
that businesses hold towards the societies they carry their operations in (Cadbury,
2006). The European Commission defines CSR as a concept whereby companies
decide voluntarily to contribute to a better society and a cleaner environment. A
more specific definition of CSR explains that businesses must identify their
stakeholder groups and understand their needs and values and take those values into
their operational and strategic decision making process (Cadbury, 2006). For a
business to apply real corporate social responsibility, they must apply economical and

The four previously mentioned companies, carry around a positive reputation
whenever they are mentioned. They are considered the most reputable around the
world, thus there is a type of a Halo Effect that goes around them anytime they are
mentioned. Besides being very popular and famous for their donations, all four
companies are extremely active and genuine in all perceptions that measure or drive
CSR. In order to act responsibly in a society, a company must first understand the
elements of a successful CSR practice within an organization. First step starts with
getting the support and participation of high profile executives that are willing to
stand up for the strategy of practicing more social responsible operations. Then
creating a visionary document in order for the public and stakeholders to read and
see the ambitions and goals of the organization.

  • 2. Children In The Chocolate War Adults within The Chocolate War bring a variety of both positive and negative messages for the adolescent characters to develop. In terms of positivity impacting Jerry, his father plays an important role in helping him decide what he does not want to be. In the novel Jerrys mother had died recently to a sickness. This resulted in his father acting like a sleepwalker going through the motions and like a puppet being maneuvered by invisible strings (The Chocolate War: 48). To Jerry this is brought back up at the end of the chapter where he fears that he will become like his father. After seeing some of the resemblance in the mirror he turned away because he didn t want to be a mirror of his father (The Chocolate War: 53). The idea of

Sex Offender Medications The purpose of sex offender treatment is to alter the deviant sexual arousal patterns, addressing social skills deficits that result in deviant behavior, to challenge the beliefs that facilitate sex offending behavior, and to develop strategies to prevent sexual reoffending. To resolve the above mentioned problems involves the use of both medication and behavioral based treatment models. Medications that are used to decrease sexual deviant behavior include synthetic progesterone derivatives such as medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) and cyproterone (CPA), luteinizing hormone releasing hormone agonist leuprolide acetate (LHRH), Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), and serotonin specific reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) (Fong, 2006; Dolan, 2009). Additional techniques for empathy deficits include having offender write a letter to the family of the victim that they killed, and psychoeducation around intimacy and healthy relationships may also be included if it is determined that the offender has deficits in these areas (Schaffer et al, 2010; Moster et al,
  • 4. Summary Of The Phantom Menace By Padme Amidale In 1999, The Phantom Menace was released into theaters. The beginning of the saga was brought to understand where the original trilogy s villain origin story came from and where the famous twins Luke and Leia came from. Leia stole the hearts of many in the original trilogy and it was now her mother s turn to take the spotlight. Many did not welcome her character with open arms and rejected her. She was the young naГЇve queen with a crazy fashion sense who had a crush on a nine year old boy. At a very young age, Padme was interested in politics which happens to be a male dominated career. Fourteen year old Padme Amidala was elected queen of Naboo. While many would call her naГЇve, the planet elected the young for their purity and believed age brought corruption. Age could have brought naivety, but Padme had proven herself a leader her people trusted that once her second term ended they wanted her to continue leading the planet. In episode I, Amidala deals with the struggle of the Trade Federation who wants the planet to surrender to them while they are controlled by Darth Sidious. It was a plan to gain control over the galaxy with easier access since the young can be easily influenced. Amidala refused that easy access over her planet from the Trade Federation. She is level headed to not directly take action for war but to persuade the senate for a plead of help. When the escape to Coruscant is delayed, she takes the opportunity to widen her knowledge about the planet Tatooine
  • 5. The Importance Of Occupational Therapy Occupational therapy is grounded in seven core values (AOTA, 2008). Altruism, equality, dignity, and prudence are four of the values that coincide directly to my beliefs and philosophy related to obesity. Altruism encompasses indicating concern for the well being of others (AOTA, 2015). As an occupational therapist, I need to have concern for every client I have no matter what they look like. Equality means treating everyone fairly and not showing bias. The purpose of taking the IAT test was to display my biases and help me critically think how I can remain unbiased in practice. Similarly, I can show dignity to my clients by always treating them with respect. Lastly, as an occupational therapistI will use my clinical and ethical reasoning skills to help make proper decisions for clients. This is referred to as prudence (AOTA, 2015). Principles and Standards of Conduct Occupational therapy incorporates the client s personal preferences, circumstances, and needs into a personalized healthy treatment that considers all preexisting medical conditions (AOTA, 2008). Occupational therapy interventions pertaining to weight management may include education programs, community programs of health promotion, development of new routines and habits, and proposal of home modifications. Research shows that occupational therapists who are informed about potential interventions for obese clients are better able to help clients engage in meaningful

The organization is a leader in the aerospace and security industry and is enjoying large financial gains. However, given market volatility the corporation there are a few modifications the organization may want to consider. In Lockheed Martin s case, the organization has developed a strategy to expand international sales, meet or exceed customer needs and reduce costs, and innovation that will enable the corporation to continue to succeed in the marketplace. The corporation should consider leveraging its current portfolio to move into more commercial markets to help reduce the dependency on the United States government. Lockheed Martin already has several sources of competitive advantage that it uses effectively to gain leverage in the market place. However, given that the budget of its main customer is highly volatile the corporation should look to other sources of competitive advantage. It would be advantageous of the corporation to use its innovate workforce and emerging technology to develop green aircraft that use less fuel and emit less harmful emission. This would be a win for the environment, the customer, and the corporation and clearly position the corporation as an industry

  • 9. Merlin Merlin stamped hard on Arthur s foot. George looked appalled. The envelope fell to the floor. Arthur grabbed Merlin around his neck, pulled him close, and gave him a noogie. Merlin squirmed for all he was worth, but Arthur grabbed both his arms in one of his and kept rubbing firmly on his head. Merlinwanted to bite the prince to make him let go, but figured that might be a step too far, especially in front of witnesses. He tried kicking instead, but Arthur had him in an awkward position. His face was jammed into Arthur s torso, so he couldn t even voice his protests. See, he has much to learn about how civilized people conduct their affairs. What would the Princess Morgana possibly have to send to him? Not caring that he was sitting on the cold tiles of the tiny bathroom, he ripped open the envelope. Shiny confetti fell out, silver snowflakes, evergreen trees, candy canes, and golden stars. Merlin pulled out a delicate piece of parchment. Inside a border of holly leaves and red berries, ornate writing proclaimed: Her Royal Highness, the Princess Morgana Pendragon, cordially invites you to the annual Camelot Palace Youth Christmas Party. This year s party will be held Saturday, December 17, at 6:00 pm in the West Parlour. Formal dress required. Please RSVP to the palace steward by December 15. Merlin reread the invitation, bemused. How had he gotten invited to a party hosted by the princess? He had no business attending an event like that. He wouldn t know anybody except for Arthur, and he doubted the prince would want him to tag along. He d probably pretend to not even know him, the scrawny little poor boy from nowhere who was still sharing a bed with his mum. Besides, Merlin had no formal clothes to wear. He really didn t think his worn out button up shirt was going to cut it. Nor did he have any idea about how to interact with the kinds of hoity toity people who were likely to be invited to such an event. He left the bathroom and returned to his homework, leaving the party invitation abandoned on the table, where it was quickly
  • 10. The Birds By Daphne Du Maurier Survival. As a famous saying goes, Sometimes even to live can be an act of courage. Survival is not something most Americans think of first thing in the morning. For some humans in the world, surviving is the most difficult task to complete in their daily life; one reason being poverty. For Nat Hocken, it isn t poverty that made it difficult for him to survive; it is birds. Birds are known to have a predominantly positive connotation such as innocence, beauty, gentleness, nobility, and good omen. In the story The Birds, the author Daphne Du Mauriercreates birds that are evil, violent, ferocious, and savage creatures that are apparently hungry for humans. Nat, living on a small farm, being physically disabled has to survive on his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nat also had come to recognize the fact that if the government did try to help, it wouldn t be any use for them. The government would first help its major population in the cities; not the ones that live in some small rural farm. As a final point, Nat was a critical thinker. Maurier says, he decided they must sleep in the kitchen... keep up the fire...bring down their mattresses. He had everything planned beforehand and was always planning his next step. Nat even calculated the times when it was the most dangerous times to go out and when it wasn t. His wisdom was the reason his family survived for such a long period of time. Secondly, Nat was a very observant man. Maurier says that every day at work Nat at midday would pause his work and watch the birds (Maurier 51). An average person could have an hour long conversation with a friend in the coffee shop, but 5 minutes later can t remember what shirt they were wearing. This isn t a memory problem; it s the same reason a person forgets why they just walked into the kitchen. Humans have been accustomed to not notice such trivial things. Nat was different because he would notice these small things. Maurier said, Jim s body laid in the yard... cows trampled on...door...shut and bolted...close to telephone (Maurier 79) Here in front of Nat lays a dead body that has been trampled on by cows, but he is able to pick out little details like the door being tightly
  • 11. College Scorecard Case Study In a push for education equality and against exploitation by for profit colleges, the Obama administration has unveiled a College Scorecard highlighting schools with the biggest bang for your buck. The end product of a two year investigation of 7,000 institutions of higher education, the College Scorecard differs from other university ranking systems by comparing college costs to graduation rates, loan repayment rates, and average post graduate salaries. The resulting college search engine tool, available at collegescorecard.ed.gov, encourages recipients of Pell grants and student loans to apply to schools with high graduation rates and post graduate salaries. The Obama administration is also sharing the data it found with major college ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the purposes of College Scorecard is to make prospective students as business minded as these colleges: if schools only care about their bottom line, then students deserve to be able to use the same logic, choosing a school based on how likely they are to graduate from it and find a well paid job, based on how much they have to pay for it. Obama s Dream, Partially Realized Obama first announced this plan two years ago. But back then, it was more ambitious: not only would it rank all 7,000 schools based on their worth from a student perspective, but it would even penalize high cost, low reward universities and for profit colleges by restricting their access to Pell grants and Federal student loans, shifting these benefits to more worth it schools. The idea was that taxpayers should not be subsidizing tuition that profits institutions more than students. The idea garnered scathing criticism. Much of it came from presidents of the very high cost universities and for profit schools who would have been penalized by the program. They paid to lobby against the plan and save their backs. They seem to have
  • 12. The Consequences Of War Peter Rubens The Consequences of War was painted in 1638 1639 by Peter Rubens for the Medici family. Peter Rubens was a humanist and a Northern Renaissance Flemish painter who was famous for his mythological and historical style, unlike most Reformation artists. Peter Rubens, at the time of this painting, was also a diplomat living in the midst of the Thirty Year s War . He used this to express his feelings on the conflict, which were not positive. The center of attention was put on Mars, the Roman god of war, and Venus, the Roman god of love and beauty. The Classical references used in The Consequences of War are very direct. Immediately when one looks at The Consequences of War, the dark and somber mood isn t difficult to pick up on. The whole painting gives off an aura of the inevitability, the tragedies, and the horrors of war. This reflects the diplomat Rubens thoughts on the issue perfectly. He believed that if war comes, then tragedy and horror are as inevitable as God s will. The fact he reflected his beliefs in his painting is a humanistic belief. He used his painting to cause change in the importance of diplomacy, to reform society. The Consequences of War embodies the Renaissance belief of humanism because it was painted by one individual who believed he could be significant in the world and cause change for the better by using his knowledge and abilities. The way by which Peter Rubens accomplishes this in his painting is influenced by other Renaissance beliefs. The most notable of these was his use of mythological characters to represent the literal consequences of war rather than to paint them directly. This is just one part of Peter Rubens use of Classicism in The Consequences of War. He distastes the musician and the architect being tossed aside and ignored, which shows the revival of the Classical belief of the importance of music and the arts. Furthermore, the book being crushed under Mars feet show Rubens desire for a learned populace, which

The Juvenile Justice System And Juveniles When it comes to discussing the criminal justice system and juveniles, there have been many landmark cases that have made a significant impact on the juvenile justice system. The cases arise from dealing with certain aspects that comes from handling juveniles entering the system. Since juveniles are very different from adults they have to deal with them a certain way and a case by case basis. The court cases concerning juveniles and the decisions that have come from them is what has made what the juvenile justice system is today. Juveniles are not treated the same as adults since juveniles are not ad developed as adults common sense wise. They don t always know what is right from wrong and sometimes they do not have guidance or good influences around them helping them in the right direction. In class we have learned that instead of punishing them, the goal of the juvenile justice system is based on rehabilitation. For instance, juveniles cannot be sentenced to death if under the age of 18 and also can not be given the sentences of life without parole because they consider these punishments cruel and unusual for juveniles. If the system is able to rehabilitate them and give them the tools they need, they have a second chance at changing their lives for the better and getting away from all of the crimes. They rather try to send them to programs or to complete community service to better themselves instead of giving them hard time. The court cases that I will discuss is what
  • 14. The Excavation Of The Uluburun Shipwreck In the summer of 1982, a local Turkish sponge diver named Mehmed Cakir set out on a normal morning dive. In the Bay of Antalya in the Mediterranean Sea near the city of Kas, the diver took a boat not too far off shore. During his dive, he found what he described as metal biscuits with ears and reported them to the Institute of Nautical Archaeology in Kas. The INA then sent a team to the shoreline to discover what would end up being the Uluburun, the oldest shipwreckever excavated. The site of the Uluburun shipwreck is just 50 meters (160 feet) off the eastern shore of Uluburun, and 6 miles southeast of the city Kas, Turkey. Excavation of the Uluburun shipwreck began in July of 1984 and lasted until late 1994. It was split up into eleven campaigns, each lasting around three to four months. The Institute of Nautical Archaeology controlled the entire excavation; however it was led by two different nautical archaeologists. Dr. George F. Bass initiated the preliminary campaign in 1984 and was taken over by Dr. Cemal Pulak in 1985 until 1994. Dr. George F. Bass is recognized as one of the early practitioners of underwater archaeology. In 1960, Bass was the director of the first archaeological expedition to entirely excavate an ancient shipwreck, Cape Gelidonya, which is not far from the site of the Uluburun. When Bass left the project to teach, Pulak took over and has been directing INA s annual shipwreck surveys in Turkey since 1982. The location of the Uluburun brought

Also, the plants make a block to polyspermy, which is the fertilization of an egg by more than one sperm cell, as do the animal s cell s eggs. 14.Describe the fate of the ovule and ovary after double fertilization. As the embryo grows the seed stores proteins, oils, and starch. 15.Describe the development and function of the endosperm. Women s Traditional Cultural Values Of Gender Roles Abstract Human trafficking is a heinous crime and a horribly profitable business which affects hundreds of millions of people every year worldwide. In Nepal, women and girls are more often trafficked than men, either within the country or to brothels in India. They make easy prey because of the poor economic status of many Nepalese citizens and the fact that most women and girls in Nepal do not have education and are completely illiterate. Traffickers are able to abduct them from their lives and trap them, threatening to hurt them or their loved ones if they attempt to escape or disobey. At the brothels, they will contract disease, get raped, and be forced to work tirelessly for fear of facing the wrath of their abductors. In this essay, a critical analysis will be conducted on Nepal s traditional cultural values of gender roles. In healthcare, a wireless network is used to improve access, reduce errors and deliver an accurate healthcare information anywhere and at any given period among patients and healthcare providers (IEEE, 2003). The final tier of the RTI process, tier three, is where all the data collection comes into play. Modern Dance History The history of modern dance dates back as early as the 19th century when Isadora Duncan, began her career as a performer and choreographer, leading her to evolve into one of the world s most renown and innovative modern dance influences of the time. A rich history followed with the birth of other significant and revolutionary individuals such as Martha Graham in 1894 (Terry, 2017) and George Balanchine in 1904 (Walker, 2017). These pioneers of dance, introduced the world to a new style of choreography, originally derived from and based upon romantic classical ballet. The Oxford Dictionary (1989) defines modern danceas a free expressive style of dancing that developed in the early 20th century as a reaction to classical ballet. Classical ballet has a rigid style, it requires supreme discipline and structured movement. Modern dance was established as an alternative way to perform, where dancers were not restricted by costume or movement and used this freedom to push visual boundaries. Many people criticised the choreography and reviewers in the 1930 s 1940 s wrote of how it was unsavoury and distasteful (Gilbert, 1999), although, eventually becoming a worldwide phenomenon. It can be argued that Balanchine, Graham and Duncan were inevitably the three most significant dance figures in the development of modern dance choreography from foundations built by romantic classical ballet.
