Police Officer Shootings
Yes I do feel that our police departments generally do a good job of screening applicants. The
Knoxville Police Department employees 397 police officers to protect the city of Knoxville, which
had a population of 185,638 in 2015 (UCR, n.d.). According to the statistics on officer involved
shootings from the Knoxville Police Department there showed to be no shootings in 2015 but in 2014
there were five officer involved shootings, three of which were fatal for the suspect (knoxvilletn.gov,
n.d.). In each of these cases the officers were exonerated from liability as their actions were found to
be within departmental policy (knoxvilletn.gov, n.d.). I feel that the psychological testing of incoming
officers is an important aspect to ensure we hire the most professional officers for our police forces
but sometimes individuals with behavioral or mental issues can be missed and any individual who
exhibits such traits or bias should be dealt with or dismissed from the force to avoid issues that could
impact the entire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some of these cases there has been video evidence of the officer performing improperly and in other
cases the officer has performed properly and was exonerated. The media loves to report as if the
officer is automatically guilty and can skew the facts to make it appear so. One example of skewing
the facts is a website I accessed while searching for information on police shootings. The Washington
Post website shows a database of police shootings in 2016 and when accessing the website the number
958 is in large letters with lethal force written underneath and it ticks up one digit at a time to reach
963 (Washington Post, n.d.). This makes it appear that shootings are occurring currently even though
2016 has already past. Tactics such as this are those that the media uses to make police look more
responsible for issues than they

The Battle At Iwo Jima, But Instead, Looking At First...
A. Plan of Investigation The purpose of this investigation is to go beyond the perceived thoughts and
facts about Iwo Jima, but instead, looking at first person accounts and eyewitnesses. Iwo Jima is
known as Thirty Six Days of Hell which takes place from the 19th of February in 1945 to the 26th of
March, 1945. During these thirty six days the goal of this battle was to obtain the island because of the
location and how they would be able to utilize it for a landing strip for damaged aircrafts and
replenishment. The scope of the investigation will be understanding what life was like for the soldiers
on both sides throughout the battle. The method of this investigation will be using interviews,
secondary sources with eyewitness accounts, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When they first arrived, they knew that the Japanese tended to wait for the first wave to pass through
before starting the full blown attack. Clarence Rae described the island, They bombed Iwo for thirty
days before we ever got there. Bombed. Shelled. Everything you could think of to soften it up. . . At
6:30 in the morning all the transports were in place and by 6:40 the war had broken out. Slowly but
surely the American soldiers made progress and secured some of the airfields because by the
beginning of March, two thirds of the island was captured by American soldiers because they had a
strong Marine base and were able to push the Japanese back. After five days the Americans were able
to take over Mt. Suribachi which was such a relief for the soldiers because the five prior days was just
the beginning of the thirty six day war. Iwo Jima veteran, Hershel Woodrow Williams remembers, The
flag going up on Mount Suribachi, on Japanese territory, was something that we as marines really
needed. It was a short lived victory because after the taking over of Mt. Suribachi the bloody battle
resumed with thousands killed and bodies mutilated for thirty one days later. Another veteran, Norman
Baker, remembered vividly, After a while, I wasn t in shocked anymore and that s the worst thing for
me. You became like animals or a machine. The mindset of the Marines at that point in time was

Best Buy in Crisis
Introduction
At the end of fiscal 2012, Best Buy found itself in an increasingly challenging situation. Although it
could still claim to be the world s largest consumer electronics retailer with $50.7 billion in revenues,
growth for the year, at 0.9% was anemic. Meanwhile, Amazon s sales in Best Buy s categories were
growing at more than 50% p.a. and its total sales, at $48 billion, were approaching those of Best Buy.
Operating profits were also disappointing having dropped 54% to $1.1 billion and net income fell into
the red at $1.2 billion. The fiscal 2012 year end stock price fell to $24.70, down from a high of $53.86
in 2006. In five years, Best Buy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1988, personal computers were added to the product line. Four years into the superstore strategy,
Highland, the industry number two, lowered its prices in Minneapolis, Best Buy s heartland, selling at
10% above cost. Best Buy margins fell sharply. In search of a new approach, Best Buy conducted
consumer research and discovered the customers had a poor image of superstores. They saw shopping
as a stressful experience and felt pressured by salespeople into buying expensive items. Customers
wanted an enjoyable shopping experience and a no pressure selling environment.
Concept II: 1989 1994
In response to this consumer research, Best Buy implemented a ground breaking grab and go store
format in 1989 called Concept II. Backroom space in stores was turned into sales space and the
inventory was put out on display with basic information labels so that customers could see what was
in stock and understand the product without explanations from sales staff. Salaried product specialists
replaced commissioned sales staff and, rather than pushing products on customers, patiently waited in
department centers for customers who sought help. The format proved very popular, and by fiscal
1994, Best Buy operated 151 stores generating $3.0 billion in revenue and $77 million in operating
profits. In the process, Best Buy entered Chicago and Texas, Highlands core territories, and the
company went bankrupt.

The Civil Rights Movement From The 1960 s
In today s world, people deal with the constant struggle of finding whose needs are more important.
Individuals, and individualism itself, claim to have their life be there s, and they can do whatever they
please, however, when people put society s needs before theirs, they are doing their good for society,
and everyone around them. Society s goal is to move the human population forward in a positive
direction, and to help everyone instead of just one person. In today s world, individuals must look at
society, and social needs to fulfill their own needs, giving the needs of society more of an importance
to all. When you compare the overall purpose of individual needs and. social needs, social needs are
there to fulfill the needs of all individuals. In society, when people are apart of a group, they feel a
sense of pride, and importance towards that group. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(History.com) When people put their needs above themselves, positive things happen to their
community, and to people they may not even know. Martin Luther King Jr. is just one example of how
when you believe there is problem in society, and you put society s needs above your own, the
individuals around you will be affected positively like in the Civil Rights Movement. Although society
makes a positive impact on others, society also gives a good holding ground of what people can and
can t do in general. Today social media and public encounters with people give a general direction of
what is acceptable and what is not. People have many different styles, and some are more wild than
others, so when those types of people are in public, or on social media or something that multiple
people can see, they are either seen as fine

counselling theory essay
Unit 2: Introduction to Counselling Skills Theories Theory Essay Written Introduction In this essay I
will describe key elements of Psychodynamic theory, Person Centred theory and Cognitive
Behavioural theory. I will also identify the key differences between the above theories. I shall also
describe how counselling theory underpins the use of counselling skills in practise. I will then end
with my conclusion. 1.1 Key elements of psychodynamic theory Dr Sigmud Freud (1856 1939), is the
founder of the psychodynamic approach. Dr Sigmud Freud believed that childhood experiences and
unconscious thoughts had an effect on people s behaviour. Psychodynamic counselling refers to the

Cognitive behavioural theory (CBT) is a kind of psychotherapeutic treatment that enables patients to
comprehend the thoughts and feelings that control their behaviours. Cognitive behavioural therapy is
more frequently used to treat an extensive range of disorders such as depression and anxiety.
Cognitive behavioural therapy is widely short term and concentrates on enabling clients to deal with
very particular problems. Often six weeks to six months sessions of course depending upon the
problem it is pacifically goal directed and places great weight upon self help as a long term coping
tool that the client can take away with them and successfully use. Cognitive behavioural therapy
believes that clients can learn the wrong ways of developing and making sense of information during
their cognitive development. This can often lead to distortions in the way they identify reality, it s the
job of the therapist to enable them to work this out. According to Dryden, 2007, p.299 Cognitive
therapy first came to the attention of British psychologists and psychiatrists through the pioneering
work of the British researchers who sought to evaluate the efficacy of Beck s treatment for depression.
Cognitive behavioural theory can be used on a one to one basis or in a group setting. It is said that in
order for cognitive behavioural therapy to be effective, the client

Rappaccini s Daughter Comparative Essay
In the passages Ralph 124C 41+ and Rappaccini`s Daughter , the protagonists have analogous
interests and goals, while the themes match as well. Both stories are of life, death, love, and nature. In
the two passages, the authors use love, specifically to create motives for the protagonists, and also to
use the themes of nature and death. Throughout the passages, Ralph 124c 41+, and Rappaccini`s
Daughter , the authors use love to create themes of death and nature. According to Rappacini`s
Daughter , To Beatrice so radically had her earthly part been wrought upon by Rappacini`s skill as
poison had been life, so the powerful antidote was death. And thus the poor victim of man`s ingenuity
and of thwarted nature, and of the fatality that attends all such efforts of perverted wisdom perished

Rappaccini! And is this the upshot of your experiment? (Hawthorne, 192.) Giovanni, her lover, had
tried to interfere with a combination of nature and man, and ended up with a death at his feet. His
affection was what caused him to try to save her, but it was far too late. In Ralph 124C 41+ , the same
is true. Ralph 124C 41+ , says, It was the last trench in his desperate combat with Nature. It was the
supreme effort. It was the last throw of the dice in the game between Science and Death, with a girl as
the stakes. (Gernsback, 247.) Ralph wanted to save his love from inevitable death, but he was losing
the battle, but because of the risk he took, and his perseverance, his love survived. Both stories involve
a risk of some kind. For example, in Rappaccini`s daughter, Giovanni risked giving her the antidote to
save her, but it failed, and nature claimed her life. On the other hand, Ralph was magnanimous in
saving Alice, his wife, from Death and Nature. The two stories relate in theme, and objective of their
respective protagonists. All in all, the stories are similar and comparable in many ways, but have slight

The Importance Of End Of Life Care
Since this is generally a problem for all types of families in every economic class, the most impactful
factor regarding the lack of preparation for this issue is probably a lack of intentional and formal
education for young people, as well as proper public awareness for young adults to those near
retirement.
The every day struggle of trying to find your path in life can consume the mind into an over focus on
the ever present now. This persistent focus on living for today can often skew one s perspective on
future concerns, such as saving and investing for the future, not only for retirement, but for end of life
care. It s always more psychologically soothing to think that you won t need to plan that for many
more years. Often this planning

Why Is It Important That Organizations Of All Sizes Invest
Why is it important that organizations of all sizes invest in cybersecurity? From the beginning of time
business owners have sought to keep their intellectual property safe and out of the hands of other
individuals who may want to steal or do harm to their business. Now to skip forward a few thousand
years, the introduction of the internet have businesses exploring and expanding the way they
communicate and share data, serve clients and process information, lower overall costs, and increase
profits. With this technology, geographically separated employees can link with the parent company,
partner companies can now share data, they can hold web based conferences, fill orders for customers,
and update their inventory in real time. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cybersecurity attempts to assure the protection of assets, which includes data, desktops, servers,
buildings, and most importantly, humans. The goal is to protect data while in transit and when stored.
Countermeasures can be put in place in order to increase the security of data. Some of these measures
include, but are not limited to, access control, awareness training, audit and accountability, risk
assessment, penetration testing, vulnerability management, and security assessment and authorization.
In April 2009, Senator Jay Rockefeller (D WV), Senator Evan Bayh (D IN), Senator Barbara Mikulski
(D MD), Senator Bill Nelson (D FL), and Senator Olympia Snowe (R ME) introduced the
Cybersecurity Act of 2010 S.773 . (Rockefeller, 2010)
The Intent of the bill is to not only increase partnership between the public and the private sector on
the issue, but also to ensure the continued free flow of commerce within the United States and with its
global trading partners through secure cyber communications, to provide for the continued
development and exploitation of the Internet and intranet communications for such purposes, to
provide for the development of a cadre of information technology specialists to improve and maintain
effective cybersecurity defenses against disruption, and for other purposes. It also outlined creation of
an advisory panel, that each member of this panel will be appointed by the President of the United
States. They

stated by Ms. Pancake.
In early December, the accounting team were scheduled to have a luncheon at Ibby s. Two days prior
to the event, a calendar invite had been sent to its attendants. Due to my shy nature, I had not accepted
the invitation, but unbeknownst to me, the attendance was required because, as the time approached,
Mr. Rackers asked me to prepare to leave with them. In candor, I was not comfortable with nor
interested in having lunch in such a setting, and worse, my co worker, Mr. Whittaker was battling a
severe cold that I was trying not to contract during this event.
Unfortunately, I do acknowledge the statement of my lagging behind from the rest of the team.
However, it was due to cramping from my previous ab workout at the gym, and it was painful to move
at a faster pace. I didn t want to burden anyone with my issues, and thus, did not disclose it. Mr.
Rackers had patiently awaited my arrival to the building while everyone else had gone ahead. We then
proceeded to meet the others who were still waiting to be seated.
After waiting to be seated, the manager from Etta s arrived, and shortly thereafter, we were then

Satirical Comedy In Catch 22 By Joseph Heller
Life has its funny way or running circles around itself; no matter what happens, there is always a
catch. In Catch 22, Joseph Heller demonstrates the catch that is Catch 22 by creating a satirical
comedy of one of the worst times in the history of man and tormenting Yossarian with the unfair life
problems of a bomber pilot that are out of his hands to decide, leaving him to fend for himself
amongst the sea of dangers awaiting to take his life (and others) until finally he sees freedom and
escapes from his officers and very angry whore. Yossarian has avoided his missions for as long as he
could in the confines of war. He is found first in a hospital pretending to have a liver disease and
having symptoms related to this illness. He naturally runs a slightly elevated temperature, making his
story somewhat more believable to the displeased nurses who have to take care of his every day.
However, being in the hospital with no entertainment can be catastrophic to one s mind. To solve this
dilemma, Yossarian, in charge of censoring the letters, began a war with words. He would remove
subjects, verbs, adverbs, and other important elements of the letters; he even added the name
Washington Irving and Irving Washington. This would have caused chaos for families back home who
want to speak to their loved ones. Most of the times, there are only a couple of words left and not even
their loved one s name on the letters. It would be easy to think that this is a casual, forgettable

Jamaica and the United Kingdom
There are a lot of different countries in the world. Some have many similarities and some have few
similarities. English is the international language and everyone should try and learn this language if
they want to communicate with the rest of the world. Most people think of the United Kingdom and
the United States of America, as the english speaking countries. This is not the only English speaking
countries, with English as the national language. In this text I will take a closer look at a country that
has english as the national language. I will look at the differences and similarities that this country has
with The United Kingdom. The country is surprisingly small and has a population of approximately 3
million people. It is a small island and the largest English speaking country in the Caribbean. It was a
British colony from 1665 to 1962 and that is probably one of the reasons why most of the people there

Antomy of Fish and Amphibians Essay
Anatomy A way to identify a fish is by their body structure, they have fins and a backbone. The
anatomical adaptation of fins helps them survive and makes them and marine animal unique in that
they use them to maintain their position, move, steer, and stop. Most fish have scales and breathe
though gills. Most fish also have a mucus layer that helps them prevent infections. With in what we
consider fish, there are many that don t very much look like they are earth creatures. The strangest fish
species are found in deep ocean waters, such as the Pacific Barreleye, which is distinctive in that, its

An anatomical advantage of the reptile class is that their limbs have shifted to the bottom, compared to
amphibians, which are on their sides. The Texas Horned Lizard can shoot blood out of its eyes; it
certainly is one of the most interesting animals in the reptile class.
Birds differ from the previous three classes in their physical appearance, even though their
evolutionary line originates directly from the reptiles. From the out side they all look relatively
similar, they all have wings and feathers, their feet are similar, they all have hollow bones and special
respiratory and metabolic systems, and they have beaks. Even though they might seem little,
variations in their wings, feathers, feet, and beaks are what make each species of birds unique. Birds
feet are classified by how their toes positions and what purpose they serve, from just looking at the
birds feet it is possible to identify what kind of bird they are. For example, a duck s foot structure is an
anatomical advantage since it allows them to swim better. The most strange looking and interesting

armor, as described in the story of the bank run, was the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve Act of
1913 helped to establish banks as a united force working for the people instead of independent
agencies working against each other. By providing a flexible amount of currency, banks did not have
to hoard their money in fear of a bank run. Because of this, there was no competitive edge to see who
could keep the most currency on hand and a more expansionary economy was possible.
The evolution of the Federal Reserve did not begin on December 23, 1913 with the passage of the
Federal Reserve Act. Rather, it began with the Banking Panic of 1907, the most severe of the four
national banking panics that had occurred in the precious thirty four years.
In response to this panic, a committee was established to find the flaws of the current banking system.
This committee, the National Monetary Commission, found there were two main flaws dominating the
system. First, the currency was not responsive to changes in demand. (Born...13). This meant that the
bank had a fixed amount of currency, regardless of the

Pursuing Pediatrics
Pursuing Pediatrics
Countless high school students aspire to become neurologists or surgeons, but tend to disregard the
incredibly rewarding and memorable experiences that Pediatrics presents. Pediatrics focuses on
solving issues that pertain to children, and attempt to solve these problems using critical thinking
developed over decades of training and education. For those who wish to follow the medical route and
make an impression on the younger generations, pediatrics is a wise, fulfilling life choice.
As a pediatrician, one will work with children and address the variety of issues they face based on
their specialization. Dealing with individuals under the age of 21, pediatricians should have an affinity
with younger individuals, and should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Becoming a pediatrician typically requires at least 3 8 years of residency training in pediatrics, along
with the four years required to achieve a bachelor s degree (How to Become a Pediatric Doctor:
Education and Career Roadmap.). To even begin one s journey into pediatrics however, one must pass
the MCAT, a nightmarish medical school entrance examination assessment, and after multiple years of
training, an anxiety inducing final examination. Another crucial factor in becoming a pediatrician is
the huge cost of tuition, as the combined cost adds up to 300,000 to 500,000 thousand (Becoming a
Pediatrician: THE BOTTOM LINE). However, during residency training, you receive annual incomes
up to 45,000 a year, covering living expenses for the time being and enough income for splurging.
Pursuing a career in pediatrics requires extensive education, internship, and a small fortune, but its
rewards far outshine its apparent

How Does Morrie And Elie Run Into Adversity
Have you ever dealt with adversity? Adversity is something most people deal with. Some people may
say they do not run into this problem, but they would be lying. In Tuesdays with Morrie and Night the
two main characters Morrie and Elie run into adversity. Morrie and Elie face death and the accepting
of death. In Tuesdays with Morrie there happens to be many troubling times and hardships. Morrie
battles these hardships better than most people would. One thing Morrie faces is the failing of his
career. When Morrie started to get sick and get weaker he had to start having his classes at his home.
This does not discourage Morrie he learns to move forward and look at the positive in teaching from
home. Morrie teaches Mitch about life and how to look at the positives of it. Morrie knows that he has
to stay positive to teach Mitch about the importance of love, positivity, and faith. ... Show more

Morrie knows from the beginning that his illness is not curable, but he still goes on with his everyday
life. Morrie states that Everyone knows they re going to die (Mitch 81). This quote tells us that Morrie
knows he will die sooner or later and he will have to face it. Even though Morrie knows his life will
end soon, but he still keeps his faith. Most people lose faith at this time in life and Morrie instead
teaches to keep faith. Morrie also never grieves over his hardship to much throughout the day. He tells

Owen Meany Quotes
Passage 7 Quote #2 Owen Meany would accuse Calvin of bad faith. There were no accidents; there
was a reason for that baseball just as there was a reason for Owen being small, and a reason for his
voice. In Owen s opinion, he had INTERRUPTED AN ANGEL, he had DISTURBED AN ANGEL AT
WORK, he had UPSET THE SCHEME OF THINGS. I choose this Quote because it is a huge turning
point in the Novel, If Owen hadn t interrupted that angel Owen wouldn t have killed Tabby and the
chain of events that lead to Owen Dying would never have occurred. This is when I truly started to
believe that Owen doesn t have free will at all and that God is going to Steer his fate. This passage is a
great example of the theme of Free will Versus fait. I think that the whole novel is a chain of events
that no matter what the characters do will end up in Owen and Tabby Dying. For instance on her
wedding day When the chunk of Hail hits Tabby in the Head its foreshadowing that something no
matter what will kill her. Passage 8 Quote #3 So he s a teacher? my grandmother asked. This was
borderline acceptable to Harriet Wheelwright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Executive Branch Of Immigration
IMMIGRATION
A topic of concern in today s world is immigration. Its effects have led to actions by the three
branches of our federal government: the legislative branch, the executive branch and the judicial
branch. This topic of immigration has been around since the beginning of our great nation and shows
no signs of slowing down. I m going to explain the factual basis of immigration and how it affects the
three branches of government. I will also explain how it affects our society as well. Immigration is a
major issue, and it is the job of our government to find ways to keep it under control and have an
organized society. First, immigration is a major issue and it affects the legislative branch since the
constitution gives power to this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One interesting fact or concern is that immigration court is totally different from regular court and
how it is structured through the judicial body of the government. Also if any case is taken to court
relating to immigration the president and the executive branch is informed about these cases. In
comparison immigration court is a different world compare to tradition court in terms no judges are
voted in but are instead appointed, and the department of justice makes the decision on what judge
takes what case. Another key element in immigration court is that no jury hears these cases which are
a lot different from tradition court and some even feel it s unconstitutional in some

The Pedestrian Summary
THE PEDESTRIAN ANALYASIS
The pedestrian is a short story written by Ray Bradbury in 1953, the story takes place in the year of
2053. In the story, we follow Leonard Mead as he goes for an evening stroll among tomb like homes ,
until a police car interrupts him. In the end, the police car takes him away to the Psychiatric Center for
Research on Regressive Tendencies. The story is told using a third person limited narrator, which is
great for keeping the story s mysteries as mysteries, since we as a reader cannot look inside of Mr.
Mead s mind and get the full picture, but only discover this new world one step at the time as the story
continues. To let the reader, discover this new world as the story continues and also keep them

It has been made quite clear that the world he lives in, at least at that time of day, is dark and shadowy.
It seems like he is the odd one out, his mindset has not changed even though his surroundings have
and because of this, he is incoherent, someone who is somehow unadapted to this new world. This is
shown many times during the story, for an example; but it really made no difference; he was alone in
this world of 2053 A.D., or as good as alone...
By smartly using the abbreviation A.D. (Anno Domini, which means in the year of our Lord )
Bradbury hints that this world and/or universe might be the same as the one we live in, or at least it
might have been at some point.
By not having a telescreen, he is excluding himself from this new soiciety, since intertainment and life
in general seems to be centered around a television in this world
And by being an outcast he is also a threat to the system becuase he does not remain distracted and
steady while being isolated inside his house behind a screen.
If he was born into this world he problerly woulnd find it so strange. He al so mntions the election and
the removal of police cars as if has exprienced it all. He has knowlege of the world that was before. A
world were books and night strolls

So here is the deal. I m an accidental single mom. I know that sounds strange. The truth is I was
married and my marriage failed. I d planned my life five years prior without a safety net. My plan A
was my only plan. I was supposed to be married til death. This past April, I stood in a courtroom
kissing my marriage goodbye. Why it ended doesn t matter. Who am I now is what I m figuring out.
The most ironic part of me being an accidental single mom is the fact that this isn t my first time being
a single mother. I married when my son was two. I thought This is it! I ve found a good man who is
willing to take on an instant family! When I took my vows, I breathed a sigh of relief. The burden of

Modern Art History
When I was five years old, my parents took me to the Louvre. Although I was not familiar with all the
famous European artists and how much the paintings valued, I was mesmerized by the animated
pictures on the wall. Standing before the painting, I felt an unspeakable pleasure permitted only to god
himself. From that moment, I knew I was destined to be an artist, just like them in the Louvre. With
the intense passion I had for arts, I kept digging the deeper level of artistic technique and appreciation.
Unfortunately, as I learnt more about art history and style, I could not resist a sense of boredom. Now
technology was developing at a rapid rate, but, in contrast, traditional arts became more and more pale
and powerless. However, in their time, artists like Da Vinci and Raphael were superstars like Lady
Gaga in our time. Just as Renaissance saved the art field once, I thought the art world needed another
revolution now more than ever. And I could feel the fire burning in my chest and calling my destiny to
lead. Combining modern technology with the artistic skills, Virtual Reality filled every criterion I had
for a new art type. It would draw enough attention because of its novelty and in the same time
maximize the value of art design. Excited by my groundbreaking idea, I started to gather information
about the working mechanism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Physical Education And Physical Education
My issue I have chosen to focus on is physical education (PE) and gender in upper key stage 2. This is
because 39% of children across the United Kingdom have a poor attitude towards any sort of physical
activity by 11 years old (Harris, 2015). My aim is to mainly focus on why some girls do not like the
thought of taking part in a PE lesson and what we can do in school to help. Mason (2014), found that
some girls do not join in any activity in or out of school due to what they experience in school PE
lessons. Supporting evidence shows how physical activity attitudes are linked back to our experiences
throughout school (Griggs, 2015). It is important to ensure what children experience through school
during physical education is consistently positive and enjoyable to encourage physical activity within
and outside of school too. There may be many reasons for why children do not enjoy joining in PE
lessons and the excuses to avoid them can vary. However, it is important as a country that physical
exercise is encouraged to ensure children are remaining active. I find it interesting that it is mainly
girls who are wanting to avoid PE, therefore my aim is to find a way to overcome this problem by
implementing strategies that will give children, especially girls, the best experience in school PE
lessons possible, in order to encourage them to participate.
I have chosen this issue as it has been a problem for years; research shows that teachers have noticed
how girls do not want to

Alice And Lucy s Suffrage In The 20th Century
What is the meaning of Suffrage? It is the term used to describe the right to vote as a legal and natural
born right. When people are without it, they work hard to eventually get it because they want to
become equal to others. Without having the ability to vote, one cannot have a say in what goes on
around them. The most powerful period for women and their fight for the right to vote was from 1890
to 1920. Women believed that if they had the same rights as men at that time that all their issues would
be solved. They had a lot of troubles and without being able to vote, they believed that they would
have difficulties of changing the future for themselves and their daughters. The women s situation in
the 1900s seemed unpromising. Everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nobody supported these women no matter how much they talked to the people in office or the people
of the public. They had to somehow make the government and the president, who was Woodrow
Wilson (Bob Gunton) at the time, change these regulations against women, giving them the right to
vote and discuss law just like men. As a result, a group of women gathered together to go out to
protest until their rights are granted. This caused several women to get unlawfully arrested. However,
the women found a way to protest while being incarcerated and eventually they were given the rights
they deserved by the president. Through the analyzation of the elements in a film, Alice and Lucy s
true passion and efforts were revealed through their continued devotion and perseverance, which
demonstrates that anyone can make difference and gain some control.
First off, the film s direction, staging and set displayed a great sense of the women s dedication to
making their movement happen. Although there are a few important and reoccurring characters, the
character that was mostly focused on was Alice Paul. The director and filmmakers made her character
seem bold and confident. In one scene, the women are holding a nonviolence protest in front of the
White House gate. The protested for many days. In some days there was rain, snow, heavy

In spite of major cryptographic advances, failure to ensure compatibility between centralization,
anonymity, and double spending prevention, eventually put the viability of this new form of money
into question. Three decades later, Bitcoin has acquired notoriety on the global marketplace, by
replacing the central server s signature with a consensus mechanism based on proof of work (Back et
al, 2014, p.3). The novelty and improvement over Chaum s thought experiment are the decentralized
nature of the payment system allowed by block chain technology, thereby ushering in a new era that
extends beyond global payments, to corporate governance, social institutions, democratic participation
and the functioning of capital markets (Wright and De Filippi, 2015, p.3). In this chapter, we present
the main principles behind this revolutionary technology as well as some cutting edge applications. In
a first part, we present the core concepts. Secondly, we discuss a definition by Vitalik Buterin, the
distinction between public and private block chains, and the features of public ledgers. Thirdly, after
restating the foundational and disruptive nature of this technology, we present the risks and drawbacks
of public distributed ledgers, and show why the latter explain the shift toward hybrid solutions.
Finally, we sketch out a list of important applications, bearing in mind the most recent developments.

Comparison Of Cathy And Abra In John Steinbeck s East Of Eden
The personalities of the two most influential women in John Steinbeck s novel East of Eden, Cathy
and Abra, are complex. One is evil, and the other is good. Despite their different personalities, they are
surprisingly similar. Moreover, the women s involvement in the story portrays the cycle of good
conquering evil. Steinbeck describes Cathy as the Eve of the Trask family and depicts her as
serpentlike and catlike. Her sly and calculated personality prevents her from completing a task without
precise and careful planning. Therefore, when Cathy, a being who lacks a certain aspect of humanity,
initially meets Adam Trask, she sees a weak, motherless, puppy like man she can easily manipulate.
She acts under the false pretense of what Adam longed for the most: motherly care. However, to many

kind, motherly, gentle, and loving. Similar to Adam, Aron had no motherly guidance as a child,
causing both of them to rely on their partners for motherly warmth. Abra provided this to Aron while
Adam longed for it. Similar to Cathy, Abra was originally wary of the other brother. Caleb Cal Trask is
like a replica of Cathy and Charles. Manipulative and unloved like Charles, his brother, Aron, gets all
of the love and attention. As a result, Cal became cold, [he] concealed his ingenuity [and] his hurts...
[therefore] he was regarded as thick skinned and insensitive even cruel (422). One example of his
manipulative and cruel behavior, when he killed Aron. Knowing it would crush him, Cal took Aron to

Persuasive Essay On Snowboarding
Waking up and looking outside, the snow is several inches deep covering the grass, the street, and the
snow banks are knee high. These are the perfect conditions, for one thing, snowboarding. A
snowboarder knows the prime conditions to ride and will do anything to make sure they are on the
mountain ready to go when those conditions arise. In preparation for snowboarding, you ll need to
consider the temperature, where you will be riding, and what type of gear is needed for the conditions.
When preparing yourself for the long day ahead, you must consider the temperature in which you will
be riding. You will want to constantly watch the local weather station, find the next snowfall, and
following temperatures. If the snow falls when it is too warm, it will have the chance to melt and
refreeze into a crusty layer of ice. If the snow falls when it s too cold, it will come down very hard and
will not be the powdery snow that is desired. The best time to hit the mountain in the morning after a
big snowfall, and the temps around 25 30 degrees. When the snowfalls at night, it is already there in
the morning and it does not have to be fought and rode through during the day. This can make the day
much more enjoyable and keep you warmer.
The places you will be riding can have a big impact on how the ride will go. A day snowboarding in
the Midwest can be really hit or miss depending on location. In the Midwest, there is not very much
snow that falls naturally. This forces resorts to make their own man made snow. This snow tends to be
a bit harder and more like small ice balls rather than really powdery snow. Being in the midwest there
is also frequent climate changes. This can make the temperatures change rapidly and can make the
snow melt and refreeze, or become very hard just overnight.
When riding out in the west, the conditions are a lot more predictable and can be a very good time.
Out west in the Wyoming or Colorado area, the snowfall is much greater and comes in a totally
different shape and size. The snow that falls there is in very big snowflakes, with multiple feet of snow
every single week. Since they do not need to make snow, the conditions are all natural which allows
for a lot smoother

Helen In The Odyssey
The relationship between the male and the female is by nature such that the male is higher, the female
lower, This very sexism and politically incorrect statement came from the mouth of the famous
Aristotle from ancient Greece. People from ancient Greece commonly associated women inferior to
men and women s role only belonged in the house and with the children with no political activity. In
contrast to this stereotype, Homer, though his book the Iliad, demonstrated women such as
Andromache, Brises and Helen playing an enormous role for the Trojans, Achaean and the major war
itself through their presents in the lives of the protagonist which change the outcome of the war
completely.
To begin with, Andromache played a major role in the Iliad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, many could argue that even though Helen s capture resulted in a war, the blame does not
fall on her because Pairs lust drove him into steeling her, therefore blaming the war on man and his
lust and not the women behind it. Others could believe also that the honor and glory drove him into
the battle and not the safety of his wife, which then also takes away from the women contributing
towards that war. Overall, there arise different reasons why some argue that women did not play a
huge role in the Iliad and the whole story revolves around the men.
Women play an enormous role in the Iliad and even though they do not actually fight in the war their
presents in the lives of the protagonist change the war completely. Their roles, though small from line
to line, had huge impacts on the war overall. From Hector s love for Andromache who fought for the
Trojans nonmatter what, and Achilles not fighting for the Achaeans because of Brises, to Paris capture
of Helen that started the whole war Homer really emphases these women s role and influence in the
different male protagonist and the Trojan war

  • 2. Police Officer Shootings Yes I do feel that our police departments generally do a good job of screening applicants. The Knoxville Police Department employees 397 police officers to protect the city of Knoxville, which had a population of 185,638 in 2015 (UCR, n.d.). According to the statistics on officer involved shootings from the Knoxville Police Department there showed to be no shootings in 2015 but in 2014 there were five officer involved shootings, three of which were fatal for the suspect (knoxvilletn.gov, n.d.). In each of these cases the officers were exonerated from liability as their actions were found to be within departmental policy (knoxvilletn.gov, n.d.). I feel that the psychological testing of incoming officers is an important aspect to ensure we hire the most professional officers for our police forces but sometimes individuals with behavioral or mental issues can be missed and any individual who exhibits such traits or bias should be dealt with or dismissed from the force to avoid issues that could impact the entire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In some of these cases there has been video evidence of the officer performing improperly and in other cases the officer has performed properly and was exonerated. The media loves to report as if the officer is automatically guilty and can skew the facts to make it appear so. One example of skewing the facts is a website I accessed while searching for information on police shootings. The Washington Post website shows a database of police shootings in 2016 and when accessing the website the number 958 is in large letters with lethal force written underneath and it ticks up one digit at a time to reach 963 (Washington Post, n.d.). This makes it appear that shootings are occurring currently even though 2016 has already past. Tactics such as this are those that the media uses to make police look more responsible for issues than they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Battle At Iwo Jima, But Instead, Looking At First... A. Plan of Investigation The purpose of this investigation is to go beyond the perceived thoughts and facts about Iwo Jima, but instead, looking at first person accounts and eyewitnesses. Iwo Jima is known as Thirty Six Days of Hell which takes place from the 19th of February in 1945 to the 26th of March, 1945. During these thirty six days the goal of this battle was to obtain the island because of the location and how they would be able to utilize it for a landing strip for damaged aircrafts and replenishment. The scope of the investigation will be understanding what life was like for the soldiers on both sides throughout the battle. The method of this investigation will be using interviews, secondary sources with eyewitness accounts, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When they first arrived, they knew that the Japanese tended to wait for the first wave to pass through before starting the full blown attack. Clarence Rae described the island, They bombed Iwo for thirty days before we ever got there. Bombed. Shelled. Everything you could think of to soften it up. . . At 6:30 in the morning all the transports were in place and by 6:40 the war had broken out. Slowly but surely the American soldiers made progress and secured some of the airfields because by the beginning of March, two thirds of the island was captured by American soldiers because they had a strong Marine base and were able to push the Japanese back. After five days the Americans were able to take over Mt. Suribachi which was such a relief for the soldiers because the five prior days was just the beginning of the thirty six day war. Iwo Jima veteran, Hershel Woodrow Williams remembers, The flag going up on Mount Suribachi, on Japanese territory, was something that we as marines really needed. It was a short lived victory because after the taking over of Mt. Suribachi the bloody battle resumed with thousands killed and bodies mutilated for thirty one days later. Another veteran, Norman Baker, remembered vividly, After a while, I wasn t in shocked anymore and that s the worst thing for me. You became like animals or a machine. • 4. Best Buy Financial 9 7 1 3 4 0 3 JUNE 30, 2012 JOHN R. WELLS GALEN DANSKIN Best Buy in Crisis Introduction At the end of fiscal 2012, Best Buy found itself in an increasingly challenging situation. Although it could still claim to be the world s largest consumer electronics retailer with $50.7 billion in revenues, growth for the year, at 0.9% was anemic. Meanwhile, Amazon s sales in Best Buy s categories were growing at more than 50% p.a. and its total sales, at $48 billion, were approaching those of Best Buy. Operating profits were also disappointing having dropped 54% to $1.1 billion and net income fell into the red at $1.2 billion. The fiscal 2012 year end stock price fell to $24.70, down from a high of $53.86 in 2006. In five years, Best Buy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1988, personal computers were added to the product line. Four years into the superstore strategy, Highland, the industry number two, lowered its prices in Minneapolis, Best Buy s heartland, selling at 10% above cost. Best Buy margins fell sharply. In search of a new approach, Best Buy conducted consumer research and discovered the customers had a poor image of superstores. They saw shopping as a stressful experience and felt pressured by salespeople into buying expensive items. Customers wanted an enjoyable shopping experience and a no pressure selling environment. Concept II: 1989 1994 In response to this consumer research, Best Buy implemented a ground breaking grab and go store format in 1989 called Concept II. Backroom space in stores was turned into sales space and the inventory was put out on display with basic information labels so that customers could see what was in stock and understand the product without explanations from sales staff. Salaried product specialists replaced commissioned sales staff and, rather than pushing products on customers, patiently waited in department centers for customers who sought help. The format proved very popular, and by fiscal 1994, Best Buy operated 151 stores generating $3.0 billion in revenue and $77 million in operating profits. In the process, Best Buy entered Chicago and Texas, Highlands core territories, and the company went bankrupt. Concept III: 1995 2002 In 1995, Schulze, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Civil Rights Movement From The 1960 s In today s world, people deal with the constant struggle of finding whose needs are more important. Individuals, and individualism itself, claim to have their life be there s, and they can do whatever they please, however, when people put society s needs before theirs, they are doing their good for society, and everyone around them. Society s goal is to move the human population forward in a positive direction, and to help everyone instead of just one person. In today s world, individuals must look at society, and social needs to fulfill their own needs, giving the needs of society more of an importance to all. When you compare the overall purpose of individual needs and. social needs, social needs are there to fulfill the needs of all individuals. In society, when people are apart of a group, they feel a sense of pride, and importance towards that group. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (History.com) When people put their needs above themselves, positive things happen to their community, and to people they may not even know. Martin Luther King Jr. is just one example of how when you believe there is problem in society, and you put society s needs above your own, the individuals around you will be affected positively like in the Civil Rights Movement. Although society makes a positive impact on others, society also gives a good holding ground of what people can and can t do in general. Today social media and public encounters with people give a general direction of what is acceptable and what is not. People have many different styles, and some are more wild than others, so when those types of people are in public, or on social media or something that multiple people can see, they are either seen as fine ... I will then end with my conclusion. 1.1 Key elements of psychodynamic theory Dr Sigmud Freud (1856 1939), is the founder of the psychodynamic approach. Dr Sigmud Freud believed that childhood experiences and unconscious thoughts had an effect on people s behaviour. Cognitive behavioural theory (CBT) is a kind of psychotherapeutic treatment that enables patients to comprehend the thoughts and feelings that control their behaviours. Cognitive behavioural therapy is more frequently used to treat an extensive range of disorders such as depression and anxiety. Cognitive behavioural therapy is widely short term and concentrates on enabling clients to deal with very particular problems. Often six weeks to six months sessions of course depending upon the problem it is pacifically goal directed and places great weight upon self help as a long term coping tool that the client can take away with them and successfully use. Cognitive behavioural therapy believes that clients can learn the wrong ways of developing and making sense of information during their cognitive development. This can often lead to distortions in the way they identify reality, it s the job of the therapist to enable them to work this out. According to Dryden, 2007, p.299 Cognitive therapy first came to the attention of British psychologists and psychiatrists through the pioneering work of the British researchers who sought to evaluate the efficacy of Beck s treatment for depression. Cognitive behavioural theory can be used on a one to one basis or in a group setting. It is said that in order for cognitive behavioural therapy to be effective, the client ... • 7. Rappaccini s Daughter Comparative Essay In the passages Ralph 124C 41+ and Rappaccini`s Daughter , the protagonists have analogous interests and goals, while the themes match as well. Both stories are of life, death, love, and nature. In the two passages, the authors use love, specifically to create motives for the protagonists, and also to use the themes of nature and death. Throughout the passages, Ralph 124c 41+, and Rappaccini`s Daughter , the authors use love to create themes of death and nature. According to Rappacini`s Daughter , To Beatrice so radically had her earthly part been wrought upon by Rappacini`s skill as poison had been life, so the powerful antidote was death. And thus the poor victim of man`s ingenuity and of thwarted nature, and of the fatality that attends all such efforts of perverted wisdom perished there, at the feet of ... Giovanni, her lover, had tried to interfere with a combination of nature and man, and ended up with a death at his feet. His affection was what caused him to try to save her, but it was far too late. In Ralph 124C 41+ , the same is true. Ralph 124C 41+ , says, It was the last trench in his desperate combat with Nature. It was the supreme effort. It was the last throw of the dice in the game between Science and Death, with a girl as the stakes. (Gernsback, 247.) Ralph wanted to save his love from inevitable death, but he was losing the battle, but because of the risk he took, and his perseverance, his love survived. Both stories involve a risk of some kind. For example, in Rappaccini`s daughter, Giovanni risked giving her the antidote to save her, but it failed, and nature claimed her life. On the other hand, Ralph was magnanimous in saving Alice, his wife, from Death and Nature. The two stories relate in theme, and objective of their respective protagonists. The Importance Of End Of Life Care Since this is generally a problem for all types of families in every economic class, the most impactful factor regarding the lack of preparation for this issue is probably a lack of intentional and formal education for young people, as well as proper public awareness for young adults to those near retirement. The every day struggle of trying to find your path in life can consume the mind into an over focus on the ever present now. This persistent focus on living for today can often skew one s perspective on future concerns, such as saving and investing for the future, not only for retirement, but for end of life care. In early December, the accounting team were scheduled to have a luncheon at Ibby s. Two days prior to the event, a calendar invite had been sent to its attendants. Due to my shy nature, I had not accepted the invitation, but unbeknownst to me, the attendance was required because, as the time approached, Mr. Rackers asked me to prepare to leave with them. In candor, I was not comfortable with nor interested in having lunch in such a setting, and worse, my co worker, Mr. Whittaker was battling a severe cold that I was trying not to contract during this event. Unfortunately, I do acknowledge the statement of my lagging behind from the rest of the team. However, it was due to cramping from my previous ab workout at the gym, and it was painful to move at a faster pace. I didn t want to burden anyone with my issues, and thus, did not disclose it. Mr. Rackers had patiently awaited my arrival to the building while everyone else had gone ahead. We then proceeded to meet the others who were still waiting to be seated. In Catch 22, Joseph Heller demonstrates the catch that is Catch 22 by creating a satirical comedy of one of the worst times in the history of man and tormenting Yossarian with the unfair life problems of a bomber pilot that are out of his hands to decide, leaving him to fend for himself amongst the sea of dangers awaiting to take his life (and others) until finally he sees freedom and escapes from his officers and very angry whore. Yossarian has avoided his missions for as long as he could in the confines of war. He is found first in a hospital pretending to have a liver disease and having symptoms related to this illness. He naturally runs a slightly elevated temperature, making his story somewhat more believable to the displeased nurses who have to take care of his every day. However, being in the hospital with no entertainment can be catastrophic to one s mind. To solve this dilemma, Yossarian, in charge of censoring the letters, began a war with words. He would remove subjects, verbs, adverbs, and other important elements of the letters; he even added the name Washington Irving and Irving Washington. This would have caused chaos for families back home who want to speak to their loved ones. Most of the times, there are only a couple of words left and not even their loved one s name on the letters. Something had to be done that would provide for a flexible amount of currency as well as provide cohesion between banks across the United States. (Hepburn, 399) This knight in shining armor, as described in the story of the bank run, was the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 helped to establish banks as a united force working for the people instead of independent agencies working against each other. By providing a flexible amount of currency, banks did not have to hoard their money in fear of a bank run. Because of this, there was no competitive edge to see who could keep the most currency on hand and a more expansionary economy was possible. The evolution of the Federal Reserve did not begin on December 23, 1913 with the passage of the Federal Reserve Act. Rather, it began with the Banking Panic of 1907, the most severe of the four national banking panics that had occurred in the precious thirty four years. This is because 39% of children across the United Kingdom have a poor attitude towards any sort of physical activity by 11 years old (Harris, 2015). My aim is to mainly focus on why some girls do not like the thought of taking part in a PE lesson and what we can do in school to help. Mason (2014), found that some girls do not join in any activity in or out of school due to what they experience in school PE lessons. Supporting evidence shows how physical activity attitudes are linked back to our experiences throughout school (Griggs, 2015). It is important to ensure what children experience through school during physical education is consistently positive and enjoyable to encourage physical activity within and outside of school too. There may be many reasons for why children do not enjoy joining in PE lessons and the excuses to avoid them can vary. However, it is important as a country that physical exercise is encouraged to ensure children are remaining active. I find it interesting that it is mainly girls who are wanting to avoid PE, therefore my aim is to find a way to overcome this problem by implementing strategies that will give children, especially girls, the best experience in school PE lessons possible, in order to encourage them to participate. Three decades later, Bitcoin has acquired notoriety on the global marketplace, by replacing the central server s signature with a consensus mechanism based on proof of work (Back et al, 2014, p.3). The novelty and improvement over Chaum s thought experiment are the decentralized nature of the payment system allowed by block chain technology, thereby ushering in a new era that extends beyond global payments, to corporate governance, social institutions, democratic participation and the functioning of capital markets (Wright and De Filippi, 2015, p.3). In this chapter, we present the main principles behind this revolutionary technology as well as some cutting edge applications. In a first part, we present the core concepts. Secondly, we discuss a definition by Vitalik Buterin, the distinction between public and private block chains, and the features of public ledgers. Thirdly, after restating the foundational and disruptive nature of this technology, we present the risks and drawbacks of public distributed ledgers, and show why the latter explain the shift toward hybrid solutions. Finally, we sketch out a list of important applications, bearing in mind the most recent developments. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Comparison Of Cathy And Abra In John Steinbeck s East Of Eden The personalities of the two most influential women in John Steinbeck s novel East of Eden, Cathy and Abra, are complex. One is evil, and the other is good. Despite their different personalities, they are surprisingly similar. Moreover, the women s involvement in the story portrays the cycle of good conquering evil. Steinbeck describes Cathy as the Eve of the Trask family and depicts her as serpentlike and catlike. Her sly and calculated personality prevents her from completing a task without precise and careful planning. Therefore, when Cathy, a being who lacks a certain aspect of humanity, initially meets Adam Trask, she sees a weak, motherless, puppy like man she can easily manipulate. She acts under the false pretense of what Adam longed for the most: motherly care. However, to many readers and characters, Cathy seems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Abra first meets Aron and Cal, she sees two lost children and teases them. Like Adam, the two boys found, their first experience with the inexorable logic of women [to be] exciting and frightening (345). Abra is attractive to Aron and fascinating to Cal. However, angelic (compared to Cathy) Abra is kind, motherly, gentle, and loving. Similar to Adam, Aron had no motherly guidance as a child, causing both of them to rely on their partners for motherly warmth. Abra provided this to Aron while Adam longed for it. Similar to Cathy, Abra was originally wary of the other brother. Caleb Cal Trask is like a replica of Cathy and Charles. Manipulative and unloved like Charles, his brother, Aron, gets all of the love and attention. As a result, Cal became cold, [he] concealed his ingenuity [and] his hurts... [therefore] he was regarded as thick skinned and insensitive even cruel (422). One example of his manipulative and cruel behavior, when he killed Aron. Knowing it would crush him, Cal took Aron to visit their mother, Cathy. Upon discovering her existence, Aron later enrolled in the military, which killed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Persuasive Essay On Snowboarding Waking up and looking outside, the snow is several inches deep covering the grass, the street, and the snow banks are knee high. These are the perfect conditions, for one thing, snowboarding. A snowboarder knows the prime conditions to ride and will do anything to make sure they are on the mountain ready to go when those conditions arise. In preparation for snowboarding, you ll need to consider the temperature, where you will be riding, and what type of gear is needed for the conditions. When preparing yourself for the long day ahead, you must consider the temperature in which you will be riding. You will want to constantly watch the local weather station, find the next snowfall, and following temperatures. If the snow falls when it is too warm, it will have the chance to melt and refreeze into a crusty layer of ice. If the snow falls when it s too cold, it will come down very hard and will not be the powdery snow that is desired. The best time to hit the mountain in the morning after a big snowfall, and the temps around 25 30 degrees. When the snowfalls at night, it is already there in the morning and it does not have to be fought and rode through during the day. This can make the day much more enjoyable and keep you warmer. The places you will be riding can have a big impact on how the ride will go. A day snowboarding in the Midwest can be really hit or miss depending on location. In the Midwest, there is not very much snow that falls naturally. This forces resorts to make their own man made snow. This snow tends to be a bit harder and more like small ice balls rather than really powdery snow. Being in the midwest there is also frequent climate changes. This can make the temperatures change rapidly and can make the snow melt and refreeze, or become very hard just overnight. When riding out in the west, the conditions are a lot more predictable and can be a very good time. Out west in the Wyoming or Colorado area, the snowfall is much greater and comes in a totally different shape and size. The snow that falls there is in very big snowflakes, with multiple feet of snow every single week. Since they do not need to make snow, the conditions are all natural which allows for a lot smoother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Helen In The Odyssey The relationship between the male and the female is by nature such that the male is higher, the female lower, This very sexism and politically incorrect statement came from the mouth of the famous Aristotle from ancient Greece. People from ancient Greece commonly associated women inferior to men and women s role only belonged in the house and with the children with no political activity. In contrast to this stereotype, Homer, though his book the Iliad, demonstrated women such as Andromache, Brises and Helen playing an enormous role for the Trojans, Achaean and the major war itself through their presents in the lives of the protagonist which change the outcome of the war completely. To begin with, Andromache played a major role in the Iliad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, many could argue that even though Helen s capture resulted in a war, the blame does not fall on her because Pairs lust drove him into steeling her, therefore blaming the war on man and his lust and not the women behind it. Others could believe also that the honor and glory drove him into the battle and not the safety of his wife, which then also takes away from the women contributing towards that war. Overall, there arise different reasons why some argue that women did not play a huge role in the Iliad and the whole story revolves around the men. Women play an enormous role in the Iliad and even though they do not actually fight in the war their presents in the lives of the protagonist change the war completely. Their roles, though small from line to line, had huge impacts on the war overall. From Hector s love for Andromache who fought for the Trojans nonmatter what, and Achilles not fighting for the Achaeans because of Brises, to Paris capture of Helen that started the whole war Homer really emphases these women s role and influence in the different male protagonist and the Trojan war ...
