Summary Of Miseducation Of The Negro
In the book Miseducation of The Negro, Carter G. Woodson argues the concept of the systemic
education and church organization that have been embedded in us throughout history, which affects
African Americans in today s society. Woodson examined the orchestrated events that were created to
make Africans inferior with people who have no background, and no foundation. The
misrepresentation of history in schools has demeaned what Africans have accomplished. In chapter
seven through fourteen, Woodson goes in depth of the value of African Americans learning their
history. The history that is taught in the American educational system is Eurocentric; hence, European
history is taught, but not African history. We do not offer here any course in Negro history, Negro
literature, or race relations, recently said a professor of a Negro college. (132) Woodson noticed the
systemically system and deliberated the new program of education for African Americans . The
application of this concept is for African Americans educate themselves in order to know as much
about their history as much as others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, the lack of knowledge of the negro has on his own heritage commands him to remain
subordinate and inferior. Societies become brainwashed by what happened in history and accept what
we are taught and not to question it. Hence, African American misinterpreted leads to stereotypes, in
which Europeans fabricated centuries ago, such as, African American had to be taught to be civil. The
Woodson s story indicates that African American must educate themselves on their history. The
achievements of African Americans have been aligned with what has been deemed as the
accomplishments of Europeans. Most importantly, incorporate the authentic history of African
descents in our educational

Normal Mode, the fuel supply to the engines is provided from the main fuel pumps inside the wing
storage tanks. In aircraft design, one pump is always running as main pump and the other pump is
standby or armed condition only. The standby pump will work only if the main pump fails at any time.
The fuel valves are controlled by the computer depending on the requirement or isolation of fuel
supply. All fuel probes sensor will continue provide feedback to the computer for quantity indication.
FUEL SYSTEM OPERATION IN PRESSURIZATION MODE The pressurization of each tank is also
part of the surge vent tanks which are installed at the wing tip. The main storage tanks are connected
by vent pipes to maintain the needed pressure inside the storage tanks so that it will be supplied

refueling on ground, the fuel goes to the Surge tank at each wing tip and then, the fuel will be

Human Rights Campaign Paper
The Human Rights Campaign is a nationwide organization that supports the LGBT community, by
promoting equal treatment and rights in all areas of life, both public and personal, and educate on
issues this population faces and promotes political activism. The HRC is the largest national lesbian,

Organization is focused on social welfare and equality among gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and

Faith And Conflict In Elie Wiesel s Night
In Night, Wiesel shows that while faith may not solve everyone s problems, it does however have the
power to reduce conflict and act to protect a person s humanity, when it s being challenged by
impossible circumstances.
This story portrays the harsh reality about the events that had happened during the Holocaust, Wiesel
who was a young boy living in Sighet, Transylvania, during the World War II. Wiesel even though
young was known to be very religious, and was one who during prayer would cry. During this time
Wiesel was wanting begin his study of Jewish mysticism, however his Father, Chlomo Wiesel who
was a prominent leader in the Jewish community believed that his son was still too young. Aware of
his father s thoughts, Wiesel didn t let them hold him back and he began his studies of with man

Political Changes in Europe Following WWII
Europe saw greater political changes than continuities following the 2nd World War.
World War II (WWII) was a pivotal event that reshaped the Europe very much in terms of
international politics. I agree to a large extent that Europe did see greater political changes than
continuities following WWII. The most evident changes of which were that the United States of
America (USA) and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) gained international dominance
in the world arena and that the United Nations (UN) was established following the League of Nations
demise.
WWII saw the decline of the Great Powers, mainly Britain and France, as well as the rise of USA and
USSR as the two superpowers in the world. During WWII, Britain and ... Show more content on

The establishment of the UN followed the demise of the League of Nations, which was established
after World War I (WWI). However, the League of Nations hardly had any authority to do so, since
they had no military power and nations who were a part of the League of Nations were not required to
provide one. In addition, USA, USSR and Germany were not members of the League of Nations,
meaning that three of the world s most powerful nations then played no part in supporting the league.
Britain and France were the two most powerful members of the League of Nations, however both
nations had suffered much economic and military losses during WWI and hence were unwilling to
contribute to issues that did not regard Western Europe.
After the League of Nations failed to prevent WWII, the UN was established as a replacement of the
flawed League of Nations to maintain international peace and promote cooperation. In addition, the
International Court of Justice (ICJ) was formed by the UN Charter, and its jurisdictions can be
enforced by the UN Security Council (but is subject to the veto power of the five permanent members
of the council). The UN has helped to diffuse the tension between USA and USSR over the Cuban
Crisis of 1962, succeeded in averting the Arab Israel war in 1967 and so on, proving the capability and
functions of the UN.

First Amendment Status of Cable TV v. Broadcast
First Amendment Status of Cable TV v. Broadcast
Electronic media content can be viewed differently according to personal opinions, but the First
Amendment Rights of the United States Constitution lay the foundation for the legal system that is to
be followed. These rights form a guide that help citizens have a stronger grasp on what is and isn t
acceptable within the eye of the law. Narrowing down to electronic media content, there has been a
rise of tension involving first amendment rights of content regulations. The spectrum scarcity rationale
has made it possible to control licensing schemes, along with direct content control to make sure rules
are being followed according to the First Amendment. The differences between cable TV ... Show

The FCC does not license cable TV as a requirement for operating the systems because the municipal
government is the primary regulator. Unlike broadcasting, the cable systems legal rights can be
controlled by cities and countries, or by local governments that franchise cable operators. Cable
systems regulations are less strict, but still come with federal limits on ownership. The Cable
television consumer protection and competition act of 1992 influenced the congress to direct the FCC
to establish two types of limits defining the line between the owner s reach of operation, horizontal,
and the cable operator s integration with content providers, vertical. The horizontal rule provided cable
companies with 30 percent national pay, and no more than 40 percent to the vertical rule. These rules
were tested in the case of Time Warner Entertainment Co. v. FCC as unconstitutionally arbitrary. The
court said, we recognize that in drawing a numerical line an agency will ultimately indulge in some
inescapable residue of arbitrariness... But to pass even the arbitrary and capricious standard, the
agency must at least reveal a rational connection between the facts found and the choice made (pg.
408, ch. 9, The FCC and Broadcast Licensing). Broadcasting has a strict regulated radio spectrum,
where as cable has no limit on how many channels can be delivered to a home, nor the amount of

Analysis Of Travel With Steinbeck
In the novel, Travels With Charley , John Steinbeck goes on a journey across all of America, but what
he inscribed was not just a diary describing the places of which he traveled to, it is a story composed
of smaller stories within the book that he uses to describe what he discovered about American society
along the way. One of the excerpts from Travels With Charley that Steinbeck wrote is describing a
waitress he meets at a small restaurant right outside of Bangor, the financial struggle she is in, and
how there are two different types of people in this world. Also, it describes when Steinbeck wants so
badly to give the waitress a tip, but he doesn t because he believes that she won t take it. I believe the
message that John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is explaining that the waitress he met at the restaurant, after having a conversation with her, is a
depressing and boring human being. Steinbeck figures this out by noticing that she has a tone in her
voice, which he doesn t describe, but she has a tone that we can detect by the dialogue he includes in
this section of the novel. Also, by the context of the conversation. Steinbeck includes that the waitress
was the type of person that puts a cloud over everyone s heads and brings out not the positive, but the
negative in every situation. He however does not explain a particular person that brings exuberance to
a situation and always blocks out the negative. This is because John Steinbeck says that the waitress
gets him. From this we can infer that he is not normally a happy and exciting guy. The text says, I d
been driving a long time, and perhaps my energy was low and my resistance down. She got me... For a
moment I considered giving her a five dollar tip, but I know what would happen. She wouldn t be
glad. She d think I was crazy(pg. 47). Looking at the message that John Steinbeck portrays from a
different angle, we can see that the reason a person is such a Buzzkill or a Debbie Downer is because
they are constantly in a bad situation from a financial perspective or from something else. Such as the
waitress John Steinbeck meets, who is struggling financially

History of St. Louis
St. Louis was acquired from France by the United States under President Thomas Jefferson in 1803, as
part of the Louisiana Purchase. It was founded by the French in 1764 when Auguste Chouteau
established a fur trading post and Pierre Laclède Liguest, a New Orleans merchant, founded a town at
the present site. They named it after King Louis XV of France and his patron saint, Louis IX. From
1770 to 1803, St. Louis was a Spanish possession, but it was ceded back to France in 1803 in
accordance with the Treaty of San Ildefonso (1800), only to be acquired by the U.S. as part of the
Louisiana Purchase later that year. The town was incorporated in 1809. From 1812 to 1821, St. Louis

advance took place to the south and southwest. On the north side, the land in Lowell was first offered

St. Louis. The Oetting or as it was called the Oettingen family began one of the firsts banks in the
town of Bremen and from that it has merged or changed its name into the Boatmen s, Nation s, Bank

The St. Louis World s Fair (1904), which was held in Forest Park, captured global attention as it
displayed various technological developments. The fair celebrated the centennial of the Louisiana
Purchase and transformed Forest Park into a veritable fairyland of white palaces, lagoons, and
landscaping, attracting 20,000,000 visitors to the City. The fair focused worldwide attention on St.
Louis and caused increased construction of new hotels, office buildings, and homes, which continued
until World War I. Throughout this time, St. Louis industry enjoyed a steady substantial growth. The
City became the world s largest producer of beer, shoes, stoves, wagons, and many other products.

Essay On Medical Errors
No employee makes the same mistake twice. He is fired the first time. This seems so harsh, right?
Imagine not being able to make any mistake without losing your job. Obviously, there are mistakes
that are made that do merit losing your job. There have been mistakes made by people that costed their
employer millions of dollars; but is it too much when any mistake results in the loss of employment?
This makes you think though, if people knew they d be fired after their first mistake, you feel like they
d work harder to make sure they don t make that mistake. This also raises the question of whether this
would either positively or negatively affect the company. Getting fired is not a small deal, it s not only
bad for the ex employee, it s bad for the company. The company must find a new candidate for the job
and it takes time for a person to get trained for a job. After that, they still have to take time get well
adjusted to be as efficient as the person that preceded them. The point I m getting at is that most
companies don t have the time and money to have people getting fired over small things. In theory, the

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
Jon Krakauer presents Into The Wild a tragic tale of a young ambitious man who is motivated to go

through Chris McCandless, and his messages often offer a warning to society.we will furture idenitfy
how the author delievers the warning to society and what effect it can have upon society today.Three
of the very important messages he empatizes on are the societies influence on people, the essence of
nature and the importance of fogriving someone.
Firstly we see how jon krakauer uses people and societies influence as a prime example to pass a very
important message. As we know American society seems to center around the idea of american dream
of going to the best university and to buy a new car, a new house overall to buy anything and
everything to look superior to others. This quote was said by chris which completly descirbes our
materalistic society So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the
initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and
conservatism. 56 57 Through the character Chris Mccandless we see how troubled the author is by
materalism and we also see authors disagreement to materalism when Chris denies his parents offer to
buy him a new car and by putting the strong emphasis on materalism the writer makes the readers

Essay An Analysis of Ethical Dilemma of International...
Adoption boundaries have steadily extended since the World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War,
where many children became orphans. As a response to them winners, especially Americans, started to
adopt children from the war torn countries (Wilkinson 1995, 174). Thus, it was a start point for
international adoption. Intercountry (international or transnational) adoption is defined as adoption,
where child is removed to the adoptees country. In recent times motives to adopt internationally are
explained as charity of wealthier and more developed nations, a wish to help countries, which are
fighting with economic problems, and also insufficient numbers of babies within the country. The rate
of international adoption increased dramatically, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In past years a rate of international adoption increased by approximately 16% from 1998 to 2007
(Selman 2009, 576). Figure 1 shows the rate of international adoption increased dramatically from
approximately 32000 to 45000 children in 1998 2004 years; then it has started to decrease. Such big
numbers in the rate of international adoption and popularity of it raises more and more positive and
negative concerns. The whole society started to pay more attention to it, asking questions and raising
ethical dilemma of international adoption. The importance of this topic is significant, since children
should be considered as the most precious parts of every nation. Country s well being includes not
only economic stability and military force, but children s happiness as well. Especially the future and
happiness of abandoned children depends on international adoption. Accordingly, taking into account
rate of intercountry adoption and its current problems the topic is relevant nowadays. Figure 1: Trends
in intercountry adoptions to 23 receiving countries; top five receiving countries; USA and Europe,

The first argument against international adoption is that it is a way to traffic children. The procedure
of international adoption includes adoption fees, which are often in average ten thousand dollars;

The Critique Of World Music
Introduction
Is it a bird...is it a plane...? This is too shay ... World Music Cliché?!
When dissecting music, we mainly tend to pay attention to its ethnicity, culture, whether or not its
indigenous, traditional or tribal. World music is flavoured by native music culture. Often native music
is considered sacred or used to dissolve egos and ignite their awareness of spiritual fire!
Ever listen to a piece of music and think, I ve heard this before?
Western civilisation has forgotten about centuries old reincarnations. Even in languages: The English
seem to forget about its Germanic Constructs.
We could consider World Music as a Pseudo musical term in marketing...
We complain about this matter because of its ability to relegate something for its exotic experience;
cute, weird but safe, exotica is beautiful but irrelevant. The subtle way within in reasserts the
hegemony of Western Pop Culture. The context of world music has become so analogous. The fact

and aspects thereof also contributes to the loss of the music s unique character, as it is performed
outside of the context for which it was designed and for reasons other than those for which it was
created. The fact that artists make use of world music or its characteristics in order to make a profit

Analysis Of The Book Century Of Enslavement Essay
U. S. MONETARY POLICY Where do we come from? How did we get here? These are questions
each one of us eventually asks ourselves and, in so doing, searches for the answers. It is intrinsically
woven into us to know the basis of what sustains us. Why is it then, that the general public is satisfied
in knowing only about current celebrity gossip and is content to remain ignorant when it comes to
where our currency originates and how it is produced? Some may find it too confusing and
overwhelming a subject about which to think. Is it possible that its perplexity is not by mistake? James
Corbett mentions in his documentary, Century of Enslavement: The History of The Federal Reserve,
Our monetary ignorance is artificial, a smokescreen that has been erected on purpose and perpetuated

life, and it s always changing. I m 16 years old and I am 5 5 feet tall. I was born in Mexico but once I

because as a kid I was really blonde and also my skin color was very light. Also many of us in my

skinny people. One aspect of my life is the sports I play. I have played over 5 different sports and that
is important because it makes me who i mostly am today. I have played track, water polo, basketball,
football, soccer, softball, and volleyball. Also I was really known as an athlete once i played basketball
and made league. One sport particular that gets people s attention is track. Once they find out and my
time they are amazed of how fast I am. I believe that soccer and tack are really well known in my
family because of most of my family has played one of those two sports. Last but not least most of my
family is really athletic, so I would say that i get my genes from both my parents and grandparents.

Iacocca: An American Business Leader
Lee Iacocca was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on October 15, 1924. His parents immigrated to
America from Italy in the early 1900 s in search of the American dream. Lee s father was a
businessman with interests in restaurants, theaters, and a car rental agency. The car rental business is
what sparked Lee s interest in the automobile business. Lee did well in high school and was elected
president of his class in the ninth grade. After the election, he failed to stay in touch with his
constituency and lost the election in the second semester. He had forgotten the importance of shaking
hands and being friendly. It was one of his first lessons on leadership.

According to crisis (a 2015) there were around 7,581 people who slept rough at some point in London
alone during 2014/15, that s around 15 per cent increase on the previous year, and that s nearly double
the figure of 3,673 in 2009/10. The main problem is a lack of housing. The quantity of new houses
being constructed is not keeping up with demand, and the right to buy scheme which allows tenants to
buy their council house, has affected the amount of social housing stock available. There are an
estimated 500,000 people homeless in the UK around the population of Bristol. Crisis has supported
research of 480 homeless single people across the UK that shows almost half of all homeless people
first become homeless under the age of 21, with most repeating the experience again because they do
not get the help they need (channel4, 2014).
The Guardian (2013) states that homelessness has increased for three straight years, partly because of
a housing shortage and multiple cuts to benefits, with roughly 185,000 people a year now affected in
England. Almost two out of twenty people will experience homelessness at some point in their life,
with one in fifty people having experienced homelessness in the last several years (The Guardian

Values-Based Leadership
Leadership Background
Values based leadership has a significant impact on the performance and the functioning of an
organization. Boje,(2000) cites Burn s (1978) theoretical work on transformational leadership basing
his argument on Kohlberg s moral development theory and Weber s (1947) theory of leadership and
authority. In his work, Boje, 2000 agrees with Burn s that a moral value based leader, is the one who
emphasizes social exchange between leader and follower in the form of the psychological and mutual
needs contract driven by charisma, individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation and
inspirational motivation.(Homrig, 2001)

On October 31st, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, Officer Martin McFadden observed two men standing
outside a storefront acting suspiciously. He watched one of the men walk down the street pausing to
look in a store window. At the end of the street the man turned around and proceeded to walk back,
pausing at the same store window as on his way down. Upon reaching the other man, the two mingled
and talked to each other. Officer McFadden witnessed these men do this several times. Officer
McFadden concerned the men were casing a job , then followed the two men, and watched as they met

himself as a police officer, and asked for their names. He asked the first man, Terry to turn around. He

Comparing Gobi-28 And Thank You For Saying
Difficult poem according to Charles Berstein is something which is recently really
popular, it s hard to appreciate. This poem makes you feel stupid either you are the author or the
reader of it. At the same time, it catches your imagination and affects you somehow. First poem
that came to my mind was Gobi 28 by Lui Aragon. The main feature of this poem that
frightens future readers is that it was written by surrealistic author. According to the strange
composition of the poem and almost terrible and revolting images, it makes Gobi 28 not the
kind of best sellers. However, if you cope with the first shock and go further, you understand
that it has something in it. It s not about the words, but about something which is between the ... Show

my example of the difficult poem with the poem which is Bernstein himself considers to be
difficult.
I was quite surprised and felt like I didn t get something right. Thank You for Saying
Thank You by Charles Bernstein seemed to be not very difficult. It has comprehensive words
and composition, so it s easy to read. This poem knows everything about itself and shares it with
the reader. At some point, I stopped to think about Thank You for Saying Thanks You in a
serious way and looked at this poem as a pure irony. And I got it! It speaks about serious things
in poetry in a not serious manner. And as I had to spend time and think about this poem longer to
understand it, it is difficult.
I decided to look at the main features of the difficult poem one more time and find any
poem which is not difficult. And then I recognized that it was the basic description of every
poem in the World. Poetry itself is difficult and that what makes it poetry. Charles Bernstein was

The Colonization Of The Americas Became A Time Of Growth...
The 1700s in the Americas became a time of growth of independence and religious freedoms. People
began separating from the original religious sects and began searching for other ways of worship.
These included revivals, outdoor sermons, and more inclusive baptisms. This allowed more people to
experience religion, allowing people to decide for themselves which way of worship was right for
them. Along with growing religious independence, the nation itself began to establish itself as a
unified entity. The colonies began thinking of independence, away from the control of England.

The Wheatley family purchased a young African girl, who was enslaved and sent to Boston. Her
owners named her Phillis after the ship carrying her overseas. The Wheatley family taught her to read
and write using the King James Bible. Wheatley utilized her education and began writing poetry. At
the age of twelve, she published her first poem, making her the first African American female poet.
Later in 1770, the poem titled On the Death of the Rev. Mr. George Whitefield raised international
attention. This attention helped Phillis Wheatley publish a book of collected poems in 1773 including
poems titled On Being Brought from Africa to America , and Thoughts on the Works of Providence .
Her early education not only focused on literacy, but religion, where it played a large role in her
poetry. Writing an elegy for Rev. Mr. George Whitefield, an evangelist preacher who spoke to
thousands of people to spread the word of God, portrayed Wheatley s admiration for the preacher she
had the opportunity to observe.

The Cult Of Womanhood
The cult of true womanhood also known as the cult of domesticity began to emerge in the 19th

Everyone, at one or time, has succumbed to the pressure of doing something against his or her wishes.

would taunt and harass them. Although Orwell sympathizes with the Burmese and against the British,
their constant jeering led made him hate his job even more. The crux of this story occurs when Orwell

comes to the realization that as a leader, because he essentially is in this scenario, all freedom is lost,

conflict and tries to compromise with himself about the situation. As the title of the essay suggests,
readers already know he will shoot it. It is for his sake, for the sake of all white men in the East. As he
said in the essay, he had already committed to shooting the elephant when he sent for the elephant
rifle. His initial idea of shooting his rifle to scare it rather than kill it would have been the easier
option. The option provided less guilt and pain. He would not have had to waste so many shots on
killing the poor creature, who did not die until half an hour later with multiple shots in his brain, heart,

Day break is a standard young lady, she lives with her dad, mother and her two sisters. First light

MAD and Boomerst throughout the Cold War
In the aftermath of World War II, tensions heightened between the two dominant powers: America and
the USSR. The differences between the ideologies of the communist USSR and the capitalist United
States led to a rapid deterioration in relations. The era between 1945, which marked the end of World
War II, to 1991, when the Soviet Union dissolved, became known as the Cold War due to the fact that
despite the lack of large scale conflict, both sides still feared a nuclear holocaust. Both the United
States and the Soviet Union followed the military strategy of mutually assured destruction (MAD),
meaning that neither side was willing to risk first attack lest the other nation retaliate massively . The
fundamental tenet behind MAD that enabled it to serve as an effective deterrent was the idea of
secondary strike capability. In essence, it was the ability of a nation to launch a counterattack and
thereby ensure mutual destruction. Submarine launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) fulfilled this
criteria admirably due to their ability to stay submerged for extended periods of time, the difficulty
involved with locating a submarine, and their invulnerability to nuclear missile attacks when
submerged. As a result, the United States attempted to corner this leg of the nuclear triad. In 1949, the
United States signed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) with the United Kingdom,
France, Canada, and other capitalist states . Through this treaty, the countries agreed to defend each

Mr Nobody Character Analysis
Mr. Nobody is a fantasy/drama written by Jack Van Dormael also known as the director that associates
a lot of his films with characters who have mental disabilities or physical disabilities. The rated R film
that contained sexuality/nudity, strong language, and violent images was released in 2009. Mr.
Nobody was watched on Netflix by TV. It was a confusing movie at first, but is easy to catch on along
the way. The protagonist is named nemo, also known as the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars. He
is the last mortal human on earth to die and is being watched every second of his last moments like a

setting similar to Wes Anderson childlike color palette . There was various flashbacks of nemo s

Saying Goodbye To A Teacher
Saying goodbye to a my choir teacher They say people never know how important something is, until

Jami Lercher pursued the job of my choir teacher freshman and sophomore year at Roseville Area

me to join her outside of school choir, VOX and we grew even closer through that experience.
Everywhere she went, merriment and exhilaration followed her. She assisted me with the ability to

Mrs. Lercher received the opportunity of a lifetime and was accepted into the university of Miami
Florida to pursue her doctorate degree. She would depart from RAHS, taking that merriment and
exhilaration with her to Miami that she had constructed for the choir department. The choir students
were grieving, but we supported her decision and knew that this would aid her immensely when she

Importance Of Religion In Puritan Society
During the Puritan Era of American history, religion was ingrained in every aspects of society.
Literature written in or set in that time shows how religion impacted daily life. Many famous pieces,
including The Scarlet Letter, The Crucible, and Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God clearly shows
the harsh Calvinist ideals of the Puritan Age. These famous works depict the Puritan s strict social
justices, a gospel based legal system, and an overall societal fear of displeasing an unseen power in
any way. Every text set in this time can be characterized by its substantial theme of religion and God.
Historians have said that the Puritan laws and restrictions were some of the harshest in all of the early
American colonies. The people back then firmly believed that words of God were law, and any who
deviated from them deserved to be punished. This harsh punishment is a major theme in The Scarlet
Letter. The first pages of the novel depict Hester Prynne s punishment for committing adultery and
having a bastard child. For this crime, Hester is confined in prison, put on display on the scaffolding,
moved into insolation, and for the remainder of her life she is forced to wear, [o]n the breast of her
gown, in fine red cloth surrounded with an elaborate embroidery and fantastic flourishes of gold
thread, ... the letter A . (Hawthorne 51) This severe punishment, for what today is not even considered
a crime, was justified to the Puritans because of their unwavering belief in the rules of the Bible. In the
Puritan Era, there was no laws that separated the church and state. Rather, in tiis time the church was
the state. Government officials were elected to implement the laws of God and this system of humans
enforcing of the Bible carried into their judicial system. The Crucible is centered around the Salem
witch trials. People were sent to hang because of the testimonies of a few young girls. Though there
was no evidence other than the girls claims, the judges firmly believed that those accused of witchcraft
were guilty. This hysteria continued for many months, causing about twenty innocent people to be
hanged. The main reason for this prolonged insanity is the major flaws in the court system. Danforth,

Causes Of The Chernobyl Disaster
Have you ever helped someone out when they needed it? What caused the first explosion was that
there was faulty in the reactor. Is there a time you can remember someone had your back when you
didn t expect it? Nobody was alarmed that the explosion had happened and the soviet put many lives
in danger. The cause of Chernobyl is very sad because this should have never happened.
The cause of the explosion was from a faulty reactor in the power plant. The reactor was not stable
when it was in use. Right before the explosion had happened there had been a sudden power surge.
Also, a huge steam pressure increase that leads to a series of multiple explosions. The first explosion
was at 1:24 am. 5 out of the 12 people that were there had died because of the explosions that had
happened. When the explosion was released the makers of the reactor blamed it on Dyatlov because it
was his shift to work. Another thing that happened was that they say dyatlov messed up on a few of
safety precautions. The cooling system was switched off when the explosion had happened. The
turbine water pressure was at 0. The pressure was increasing when it should have been decreasing.
They also were running an experiment when it happened and it was in close down when it happened.
The explosion was equivalent to 10 bombs of Hiroshima. Dyatlov had received a fatal amount of
radiation. Dyatlov was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the cause of the explosion. Although
Dyatlov was sentenced 10 years he got out 18

The Intensity Of Ventral And Dorsal Streams
When someone looks at a picture, feedforward circuit conveys information to trigger lower visual
region, which is V1, and then travels to higher visual regions through the dorsal and ventral streams.
The brain areas are activated not at the same time, but instead it spreads out from V1. The velocity of
ventral and dorsal streams is different; the dorsal stream is much faster. Feedforward is involved in pre
attentive and preconscious vision, whereas recurrent connection is involved in attentive and conscious
vision. Since the attention binds all features of a specific object, it needs longer latencies for this
process by using recurrent connections (Lamme Roelfsema, 2000). Furthermore, there are two ways to
utilize sensory information, reactive mode (feedback) and predictive mode (feedforward). In reactive
mode, we do not know about the sensory input until we get it. Thus, our system reacts and uses the
information as feedback. As we become better, less feedback is used, and the brain works in a
predictive way. For example, in novel movements one uses the reactive way, because a lot of feedback
is used, so the movement is slow and is divided into many steps. Once one figures out the movement s
requirements, feedforward allows ones to move predictably. For example, if we want to catch a ball,
there are visual inputs traveling into the cortex through the two visual streams; the ventral stream,
which allows us to perceive what we are looking at the time that the dorsal stream

Recession Turmoil Caused By U.s. Subprime Mortgage Crisis
Wall Street turmoil caused by U.S. Subprime Mortgage Crisis had eventually evolved to global
financial crisis. The financial crisis that has engulfed the world is really a disaster, leading to
precipitous shrinkage of human wealth and instantaneous evaporation of long time efforts by financial
institutions. But why did such financial crisis take place? Who should be blamed?
As far as I concern, Federal Reserve deserves the greatest blame, as its ultra loose monetary policy
created housing bubble, sowing the seeds of crisis. And its subsequent tighten policy pricked that kind
of bubble, precipitatingsubprime mortgage crisis. Together with the former Fed chairman Alan
Greenspan indulged rampant financial derivatives, which made the economy worse off.
From 2001, Federal Reserve began to cut interest rates, and after cutting for 13 times, by june.2003, it
reduced target rate to 1% which hit the lowest level in the past 46 years. Due to such loose monetary
policy, lending rates declined at the same time, 30 year fixed mortgage rates dropped from 8.1%in
2000 to 5.8% in 2003. In this case, Americans house purchasing enthusiasm rose dramatically. And
speculating on real estate appeared. However bubble would burst eventually. From june.2005, Federal
Reserve began to reserve its low interest rate policy, and raised its interest rates for 13 times, so by
august.2006, Fed target rate was increased from 1% to 5.25%. The interest rates were put up
continuously, which increased borrowing

The Importance of Personal Responsibility
The Importance of Personal Responsibility
GEN/200
As an adult you are responsible for every action that you take, but before that action are a series of
thoughts that lead you to taking that action. Your personal responsibility starts at a young age, you are
either taught personal responsibility as you grow into an adult by being held accountable of your own
actions or the responsibility is taken from you. Depending on how you were brought up your transition
into becoming an adult can either be an easy one or a difficult one where everyone is to blame but
yourself. As an adult the one thing that you know is a constant is that you will be held accountable for
your actions whether you like it or not.

The Last Bastion of Personal Freedom Essay
The Last Bastion of Personal Freedom
A person up to date in today s society must acknowledge the importance and the parcticality of the
internet. Just as in other areas of society, personal freedoms are stretched to the very limit on this
modern invention, raising isuues in regards to what type of information the internet should be allowed
to broadcast. Since its inception, the internet has spawned overnight millionaires, served as the new
information medium, and even played host to some heinous crimes. The topic of greatest concern
though, is in how the people legislate the division between what is obscence and what is allowable.
The way that these issues are dealt with will shape the very form in which the internet and other ...

The Internet is a unique forum in at least one regard: while other forms of communication such as
magazines or videos must be physically brought into a hostile jurisdiction, allowing you to choose
whether to do business there, the content of your adult website can be viewed by anyone anywhere
with a computer and Internet access. What this means for adult site webmasters is that it doesn t
matter where you, your pictures, or server are located you risk prosecution if a prosecutor anywhere
views your adult website or home page and believes that the content is obscene. Perhaps that in this
respect, the internet does deserve legislation is regards to obscenity. For example, is it fair that a man
in Maine, who has followed to the best of his ability, the laws in that state in regards to obscenity, is
prosecuted for displaying what a man in Florida deems as obscene, where the state laws regarding this
issue are much more severe? In this day and age, people rely on the technology world to provide an
instant means of communication, the consequences of which are increasingly being examined.
Numerous people throughout history have been quoted as saying that children are our most precious
resource, and this fact is not any less true today. This country has a duty to protect these children in

The Influence of Macroinvertebrates Communities in Water...
Structure of macroinvertebrates communities may change with seasons because most environmental
factors change with seasons. This process can directly influence water quality parameters such as
Dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity, temperature, nutrients, and pH. (McCulloch, 2009).These
parameters appears to have direct influence on the macroinvertebrate life cycles (Sporka et al. 2006).
In other words physical and chemical parameters of a catchment will ultimately determine what breed
should live in it (ANZECC ARMCANZ 2000) for example in the figure 1,2,3 and 5 that three higher
taxa Cnidaria, Nematoda ,Turbellaria were instinct or either in very low abundance in most of the
sampling site during summer and spring season. In nature these taxa commonly occur in similar
habitats at stream sites throughout the region (Dostine, 2014).
The examination of model macroinvertebrate for all sampling round shows that in summer there is
always less diversity and abundance among key higher taxa of the wetland as compared to early
spring. This is because of suitable temperature, water chemistry and flow. Similarly according to a
study conducted by Leigh( 2012) in dry summer water level or depth may decrease which is worst
situation for most surface dwelling species of macroinvertebrates(for example in summer sampling
round 1 only five tax were recorded). Higher temperature has several effects on macroinvertebrates
such as the less availability of oxygen for respiration,

Philadelphia Art Museum Essay
The exhibit that I viewed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art was one about European Art between the
years 1100 1500. This was a series of paintings, sculptures, architecture, and tapestry of the Medieval
and Early Renaissance as well as objects from the Middle East. This exhibit was an important part of
the history of the Philadelphia Museum of Art because for the first time, Italian, Spanish, and Northern
European paintings from the John G. Johnson collection were shown. It gave me a good idea of what
the paintings were like in these four centuries and reflected ideas of both the east and the west.

The cloister stood in the heart of a medieval abbey or monetary. The example that I saw was based on
the elements of the cloister located at Abbey of Saint Genis des Fontaines in the Roussillon, a
mountainous region in Southwestern France that was fought over by Christians and Muslims for
centuries . The cloister was the center of the abbey; which connected the living quarters to the church.
I also observed many paintings in this gallery. One painting that caught my eye was titled, The
Mocking of Christ by Hieronymus Bosch. It was an early 16th century, oil on wood painting. Christ
was seen in the upper right next to Pilate and was surrounded by figured who looked more like friends
than enemies that would crucify him. These so called friends of Christ were holding weapons and
wearing bizarre headgear. In the painting, Jesus had a saddened look on his face while the others
looked jollier. Another painting that I observed was a painting by Defendate Ferrari which showed the
enthroned Virgin Mary breastfeeding the baby Jesus with Saint John the Evangelist, Catherine of
Alexandra, Anthony Abbot, and a saint reading a book. I was attracted to this painting because I would
never have thought to have seen a picture of Mary feeding Jesus in that way. This painting was
originally an oil and gold on wood and was transferred to canvas. There were so many

Comparison Of Zoroastrianism And Buddhism
Zoroastrianism and Buddhism, like many other world religions, attempted to answer the big questions
that were being asked in Southwest Asia and India in the Axial Age (700 B.C.E 500 B.C.E) and
establish social order. Social order, in this sense, refers to a set of customs and values that create well
behaved citizens and allow a society to exist safely and harmoniously. While both religions tried to
make sense of suffering and provide guidance to people on how to live their lives, each differs
tremendously in their fundamental beliefs. Zoroaster, the founder of Zoroastrianism, examined human
suffering with the idea of two contrasting forces, Good, referred to as Ahura Mazda and Evil,
Ahriman, each represented by light and darkness. Ahriman

No New Worlds By Dr. Adrian Forsyth
The world is in a constant state of change, today s decisions will affect the future of all species large
and small, defining the ways in which society will continue to live. The essay No New Worlds written
by Dr. Adrian Forsyth explores ideas associated with ever changing populations and states of the
world. The essay describes the existence of humankind by their impacts on the surrounding
environments. The reader is then introduced to the implications our world faces if these problems are
not solved and additionally steps to solving these issues. Thus, both men and women need to take
action to help or pay the consequences and protect the only world we have, planet Earth.
Dr. Adrian Forsyth s essay No New Worlds features the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dr. Forsyth implements plenty of evidence as well as proven statistics to back up his outlook on these
issues. The growth of human population is happening at an exponential rate, implying that in a short
period of time population growth will double. We find it difficult to comprehend exponential growth,
but it may prove to be our fatal blind spot [3]. When analysing the world s population over a long
period of time, it took roughly 19,000 years for the world s population to go from 5million people to
500 million people in 1500 A.D. [4] With an estimated population of 7.5 billion people [5], for a
period less than 1000 years, population increased more than 1500 times its size than it was in the 1500
s. In addition, on a more minute scale of time, in 1950 the world s population was roughly 2.5 billion
people [6] in merely 50 years the world s population has tripled. With these statics, it is evident that
the world s population is increasing at an incomprehensive rate. With populations at their peak,
overconsumption is another problem this world faces, as Dr. Forsyth affirms humans consume far
more than their fair share of the Earth s natural productivity. [7] Due to this over consumption of
resources, there is a vast demand for cheap food which results in the clear cutting of large forest to
generate room for new plantations of food. When doing so, humans destroy habitats that

Desire of the Fourteenth Century Women
Desire of the Fourteenth Century Women
Is not what we desire, the most hard to get? It has always been this way. Unfortunately, women s
rights and abilities have been underestimated over the centuries. In the fourteenth century, the status
and condition of a European woman depended on her husband s position. Women had to endure
arranged marriages, abuse and male dominance. During that time, Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The
Canterbury Tales and taught us about one extraordinary woman whose name is Dame Alisoun.
Alisoun is called The Wife of Bath, and she defines what women desired most in fourteenth century
England. She believes that women wish for power over their husbands, and I personally agree with her
opinion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As help me God, whan that I saw him go. After the beere, me thoughte he hadde a paire of legges and
of feet so clene and faire. That al myn herte I yaf unto his hold (line 601). Alisoun learns quicky about
men s weak sides and chooses her tactics depending on the situation. In her Prologue , the Wife of
Bath points out that there are no women writers and that only men write. Everything described in
Janekin s book is written from the men s point of view, and here Alisoun uses a painting as an
analogy: Who painted the leon, tel me who? By God, if wommen hadden writen stories, As clerkes
han wihin hir oratories, They wolde han writen of men more wikkednesse, Than al the merk of Adam
may redresse (line 695). If women got a chance to write, they would write good things about
themselves. The Wife of Bath explains that actually women are unable to present theirs ideas because
in the fourteenth century, women were not necessarily literate. Alisoun probably cannot read herself.
Only men can write about women, and Alisoun does not agree with what they say.
The Wife of Bath breaks the rule and norms for the fourteenth century woman. She mentions God
often, and she explains that true nobility comes from him: For gentilesse cometh fro God allone (line
1168). Here she mentions that class or social status does not matter, and that true nobility comes from
God. Even though Alisoun has an

Homeschooling Is Bad
Why Homeschooling is Not Doing Children Justice
Homeschooling is an option for your child if you do not want them in public or private schooling.
Today s society of parents will make that choice for the child, wither the child wants to or not. Many
parents think that public schools are not educating their child enough so they resort to homeschooling.
This would mean devoting your time as a parent by helping support them in learning and to make sure
they will succeed with their education.
The problem today is that many parents will work with their child for about a month and all of a
sudden have no more time to educate them. In the beginning it is your family s motivation and you
want to make them proud, so you try your hardest. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Labs are mostly for the science classes, but most kids enjoy them, and it also helps make learning fun.
Homeschooling you hardly have any tests, but in public or private school you have a test at least once
a month. Tests help the teacher know if the students understand the concept of if they still need more
time to understand what it is. Homeschooling is not broken up into semesters or even quarters; the
child works at his pace. This could

  • 2. Summary Of Miseducation Of The Negro In the book Miseducation of The Negro, Carter G. Woodson argues the concept of the systemic education and church organization that have been embedded in us throughout history, which affects African Americans in today s society. Woodson examined the orchestrated events that were created to make Africans inferior with people who have no background, and no foundation. The misrepresentation of history in schools has demeaned what Africans have accomplished. In chapter seven through fourteen, Woodson goes in depth of the value of African Americans learning their history. The history that is taught in the American educational system is Eurocentric; hence, European history is taught, but not African history. We do not offer here any course in Negro history, Negro literature, or race relations, recently said a professor of a Negro college. World War II (WWII) was a pivotal event that reshaped the Europe very much in terms of international politics. I agree to a large extent that Europe did see greater political changes than continuities following WWII. The most evident changes of which were that the United States of America (USA) and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) gained international dominance in the world arena and that the United Nations (UN) was established following the League of Nations demise. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The establishment of the UN followed the demise of the League of Nations, which was established after World War I (WWI). However, the League of Nations hardly had any authority to do so, since they had no military power and nations who were a part of the League of Nations were not required to provide one. In addition, USA, USSR and Germany were not members of the League of Nations, meaning that three of the world s most powerful nations then played no part in supporting the league. Britain and France were the two most powerful members of the League of Nations, however both nations had suffered much economic and military losses during WWI and hence were unwilling to contribute to issues that did not regard Western Europe. After the League of Nations failed to prevent WWII, the UN was established as a replacement of the flawed League of Nations to maintain international peace and promote cooperation. In addition, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) was formed by the UN Charter, and its jurisdictions can be enforced by the UN Security Council (but is subject to the veto power of the five permanent members of the council). The FCC does not license cable TV as a requirement for operating the systems because the municipal government is the primary regulator. Unlike broadcasting, the cable systems legal rights can be controlled by cities and countries, or by local governments that franchise cable operators. Cable systems regulations are less strict, but still come with federal limits on ownership. The Cable television consumer protection and competition act of 1992 influenced the congress to direct the FCC to establish two types of limits defining the line between the owner s reach of operation, horizontal, and the cable operator s integration with content providers, vertical. The horizontal rule provided cable companies with 30 percent national pay, and no more than 40 percent to the vertical rule. These rules were tested in the case of Time Warner Entertainment Co. v. FCC as unconstitutionally arbitrary. The court said, we recognize that in drawing a numerical line an agency will ultimately indulge in some inescapable residue of arbitrariness... But to pass even the arbitrary and capricious standard, the agency must at least reveal a rational connection between the facts found and the choice made (pg. 408, ch. 9, The FCC and Broadcast Licensing). • 9. Analysis Of Travel With Steinbeck In the novel, Travels With Charley , John Steinbeck goes on a journey across all of America, but what he inscribed was not just a diary describing the places of which he traveled to, it is a story composed of smaller stories within the book that he uses to describe what he discovered about American society along the way. One of the excerpts from Travels With Charley that Steinbeck wrote is describing a waitress he meets at a small restaurant right outside of Bangor, the financial struggle she is in, and how there are two different types of people in this world. Also, it describes when Steinbeck wants so badly to give the waitress a tip, but he doesn t because he believes that she won t take it. I believe the message that John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is explaining that the waitress he met at the restaurant, after having a conversation with her, is a depressing and boring human being. Steinbeck figures this out by noticing that she has a tone in her voice, which he doesn t describe, but she has a tone that we can detect by the dialogue he includes in this section of the novel. Also, by the context of the conversation. Steinbeck includes that the waitress was the type of person that puts a cloud over everyone s heads and brings out not the positive, but the negative in every situation. He however does not explain a particular person that brings exuberance to a situation and always blocks out the negative. This is because John Steinbeck says that the waitress gets him. From this we can infer that he is not normally a happy and exciting guy. The text says, I d been driving a long time, and perhaps my energy was low and my resistance down. She got me... For a moment I considered giving her a five dollar tip, but I know what would happen. She wouldn t be glad. She d think I was crazy(pg. 47). Looking at the message that John Steinbeck portrays from a different angle, we can see that the reason a person is such a Buzzkill or a Debbie Downer is because they are constantly in a bad situation from a financial perspective or from something else. Obviously, there are mistakes that are made that do merit losing your job. There have been mistakes made by people that costed their employer millions of dollars; but is it too much when any mistake results in the loss of employment? This makes you think though, if people knew they d be fired after their first mistake, you feel like they d work harder to make sure they don t make that mistake. This also raises the question of whether this would either positively or negatively affect the company. Getting fired is not a small deal, it s not only bad for the ex employee, it s bad for the company. The company must find a new candidate for the job and it takes time for a person to get trained for a job. Intercountry (international or transnational) adoption is defined as adoption, where child is removed to the adoptees country. In George Orwell s essay Shooting an Elephant, Orwell recounts his earlier years as a sub divisional officer in British occupied Burma. With their bitter hatred for the white men, the native Burmese would taunt and harass them. Although Orwell sympathizes with the Burmese and against the British, their constant jeering led made him hate his job even more. The crux of this story occurs when Orwell receives a phone call to do something about a rampaging elephant that has damaged property, killed a cow, and murdered a man. With a crowd of two thousand natives following him as he, armed with an elephant rifle, watches the elephant, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It gave me a better glimpse than I had had before of the real nature of imperialism the real motives for which despotic governments act. Against his wishes, he shoots the elephant. He is the only one is the crowd with a weapon and the natives expect it to come easily to him with him being a white man. He comes to the realization that as a leader, because he essentially is in this scenario, all freedom is lost, and that everything is done not to please oneself but everyone else. He suffers with this internal conflict and tries to compromise with himself about the situation. As the title of the essay suggests, readers already know he will shoot it. It is for his sake, for the sake of all white men in the East. As he said in the essay, he had already committed to shooting the elephant when he sent for the elephant rifle. His initial idea of shooting his rifle to scare it rather than kill it would have been the easier option. The option provided less guilt and pain. He would not have had to waste so many shots on killing the poor creature, who did not die until half an hour later with multiple shots in his brain, heart, and throat. It is an excruciating way to go and an unnecessary way. He and the Burmese died for the sole and insignificant purpose of saving the face of British ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. MAD and Boomerst throughout the Cold War In the aftermath of World War II, tensions heightened between the two dominant powers: America and the USSR. The differences between the ideologies of the communist USSR and the capitalist United States led to a rapid deterioration in relations. The era between 1945, which marked the end of World War II, to 1991, when the Soviet Union dissolved, became known as the Cold War due to the fact that despite the lack of large scale conflict, both sides still feared a nuclear holocaust. Both the United States and the Soviet Union followed the military strategy of mutually assured destruction (MAD), meaning that neither side was willing to risk first attack lest the other nation retaliate massively . The fundamental tenet behind MAD that enabled it to serve as an effective deterrent was the idea of secondary strike capability. In essence, it was the ability of a nation to launch a counterattack and thereby ensure mutual destruction. Submarine launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) fulfilled this criteria admirably due to their ability to stay submerged for extended periods of time, the difficulty involved with locating a submarine, and their invulnerability to nuclear missile attacks when submerged. As a result, the United States attempted to corner this leg of the nuclear triad. In 1949, the United States signed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) with the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and other capitalist states . Through this treaty, the countries agreed to defend each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The rated R film that contained sexuality/nudity, strong language, and violent images was released in 2009. Mr. Nobody was watched on Netflix by TV. He is the last mortal human on earth to die and is being watched every second of his last moments like a zoo animal by these weird, futuristic, and immortal humans. Mr. Nobody is trying to remember his whole life step by step by the help of a man who has the Mike Tyson tattoo imprinted all over his face. The story begins in the year of 2092. The wide shots captured a colorful palette setting similar to Wes Anderson childlike color palette . There was various flashbacks of nemo s younger self and his many infinite possibilities and pathways he could ve taken. When I said goodbye to my choir teacher, it opened my eyes to how influential she was. Jami Lercher pursued the job of my choir teacher freshman and sophomore year at Roseville Area High School. She played a significant role in my life as my mentor and a great friend. She also invited me to join her outside of school choir, VOX and we grew even closer through that experience. Everywhere she went, merriment and exhilaration followed her. She assisted me with the ability to read notes and read music. Unfortunately, the jubilance of the choir department would come to a halt. Mrs. Lercher received the opportunity of a lifetime and was accepted into the university of Miami Florida to pursue her doctorate degree. She would depart from RAHS, taking that merriment and exhilaration with her to Miami that she had constructed for the choir department. The choir students were grieving, but we supported her decision and knew that this would aid her immensely when she would come back to teach. The night I said goodbye to Mrs. Lercher was a night of waterworks, compliments and the hardships of expressing our goodbyes. • 41. Importance Of Religion In Puritan Society During the Puritan Era of American history, religion was ingrained in every aspects of society. Literature written in or set in that time shows how religion impacted daily life. Many famous pieces, including The Scarlet Letter, The Crucible, and Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God clearly shows the harsh Calvinist ideals of the Puritan Age. These famous works depict the Puritan s strict social justices, a gospel based legal system, and an overall societal fear of displeasing an unseen power in any way. Every text set in this time can be characterized by its substantial theme of religion and God. Historians have said that the Puritan laws and restrictions were some of the harshest in all of the early American colonies. The people back then firmly believed that words of God were law, and any who deviated from them deserved to be punished. This harsh punishment is a major theme in The Scarlet Letter. The first pages of the novel depict Hester Prynne s punishment for committing adultery and having a bastard child. For this crime, Hester is confined in prison, put on display on the scaffolding, moved into insolation, and for the remainder of her life she is forced to wear, [o]n the breast of her gown, in fine red cloth surrounded with an elaborate embroidery and fantastic flourishes of gold thread, ... the letter A . (Hawthorne 51) This severe punishment, for what today is not even considered a crime, was justified to the Puritans because of their unwavering belief in the rules of the Bible. In the Puritan Era, there was no laws that separated the church and state. Rather, in tiis time the church was the state. Government officials were elected to implement the laws of God and this system of humans enforcing of the Bible carried into their judicial system. The Crucible is centered around the Salem witch trials. People were sent to hang because of the testimonies of a few young girls. Though there was no evidence other than the girls claims, the judges firmly believed that those accused of witchcraft were guilty. This hysteria continued for many months, causing about twenty innocent people to be hanged. The main reason for this prolonged insanity is the major flaws in the court system. Is there a time you can remember someone had your back when you didn t expect it? Nobody was alarmed that the explosion had happened and the soviet put many lives in danger. The cause of Chernobyl is very sad because this should have never happened. The cause of the explosion was from a faulty reactor in the power plant. The reactor was not stable when it was in use. Right before the explosion had happened there had been a sudden power surge. Also, a huge steam pressure increase that leads to a series of multiple explosions. The first explosion was at 1:24 am. 5 out of the 12 people that were there had died because of the explosions that had happened. When the explosion was released the makers of the reactor blamed it on Dyatlov because it was his shift to work. Another thing that happened was that they say dyatlov messed up on a few of safety precautions. The cooling system was switched off when the explosion had happened. The turbine water pressure was at 0. The pressure was increasing when it should have been decreasing. They also were running an experiment when it happened and it was in close down when it happened. • 43. The Intensity Of Ventral And Dorsal Streams When someone looks at a picture, feedforward circuit conveys information to trigger lower visual region, which is V1, and then travels to higher visual regions through the dorsal and ventral streams. The brain areas are activated not at the same time, but instead it spreads out from V1. The velocity of ventral and dorsal streams is different; the dorsal stream is much faster. Feedforward is involved in pre attentive and preconscious vision, whereas recurrent connection is involved in attentive and conscious vision. Since the attention binds all features of a specific object, it needs longer latencies for this process by using recurrent connections (Lamme Roelfsema, 2000). Furthermore, there are two ways to utilize sensory information, reactive mode (feedback) and predictive mode (feedforward). In reactive mode, we do not know about the sensory input until we get it. Thus, our system reacts and uses the information as feedback. As we become better, less feedback is used, and the brain works in a predictive way. For example, in novel movements one uses the reactive way, because a lot of feedback is used, so the movement is slow and is divided into many steps. Once one figures out the movement s requirements, feedforward allows ones to move predictably. For example, if we want to catch a ball, there are visual inputs traveling into the cortex through the two visual streams; the ventral stream, which allows us to perceive what we are looking at the time that the dorsal stream ... The financial crisis that has engulfed the world is really a disaster, leading to precipitous shrinkage of human wealth and instantaneous evaporation of long time efforts by financial institutions. But why did such financial crisis take place? Who should be blamed? As far as I concern, Federal Reserve deserves the greatest blame, as its ultra loose monetary policy created housing bubble, sowing the seeds of crisis. And its subsequent tighten policy pricked that kind of bubble, precipitatingsubprime mortgage crisis. Together with the former Fed chairman Alan Greenspan indulged rampant financial derivatives, which made the economy worse off. From 2001, Federal Reserve began to cut interest rates, and after cutting for 13 times, by june.2003, it reduced target rate to 1% which hit the lowest level in the past 46 years. Due to such loose monetary policy, lending rates declined at the same time, 30 year fixed mortgage rates dropped from 8.1%in 2000 to 5.8% in 2003. In this case, Americans house purchasing enthusiasm rose dramatically. And speculating on real estate appeared. However bubble would burst eventually. From june.2005, Federal Reserve began to reserve its low interest rate policy, and raised its interest rates for 13 times, so by august.2006, Fed target rate was increased from 1% to 5.25%. • 47. The Influence of Macroinvertebrates Communities in Water... Structure of macroinvertebrates communities may change with seasons because most environmental factors change with seasons. This process can directly influence water quality parameters such as Dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity, temperature, nutrients, and pH. (McCulloch, 2009).These parameters appears to have direct influence on the macroinvertebrate life cycles (Sporka et al. 2006). In other words physical and chemical parameters of a catchment will ultimately determine what breed should live in it (ANZECC ARMCANZ 2000) for example in the figure 1,2,3 and 5 that three higher taxa Cnidaria, Nematoda ,Turbellaria were instinct or either in very low abundance in most of the sampling site during summer and spring season. In nature these taxa commonly occur in similar habitats at stream sites throughout the region (Dostine, 2014). The examination of model macroinvertebrate for all sampling round shows that in summer there is always less diversity and abundance among key higher taxa of the wetland as compared to early spring. This is because of suitable temperature, water chemistry and flow. Similarly according to a study conducted by Leigh( 2012) in dry summer water level or depth may decrease which is worst situation for most surface dwelling species of macroinvertebrates(for example in summer sampling round 1 only five tax were recorded). Higher temperature has several effects on macroinvertebrates such as the less availability of oxygen for respiration, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparison Of Zoroastrianism And Buddhism Zoroastrianism and Buddhism, like many other world religions, attempted to answer the big questions that were being asked in Southwest Asia and India in the Axial Age (700 B.C.E 500 B.C.E) and establish social order. Social order, in this sense, refers to a set of customs and values that create well behaved citizens and allow a society to exist safely and harmoniously. While both religions tried to make sense of suffering and provide guidance to people on how to live their lives, each differs tremendously in their fundamental beliefs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dr. Forsyth implements plenty of evidence as well as proven statistics to back up his outlook on these issues. The growth of human population is happening at an exponential rate, implying that in a short period of time population growth will double. We find it difficult to comprehend exponential growth, but it may prove to be our fatal blind spot [3]. When analysing the world s population over a long period of time, it took roughly 19,000 years for the world s population to go from 5million people to 500 million people in 1500 A.D. [4] With an estimated population of 7.5 billion people [5], for a period less than 1000 years, population increased more than 1500 times its size than it was in the 1500 s. In addition, on a more minute scale of time, in 1950 the world s population was roughly 2.5 billion people [6] in merely 50 years the world s population has tripled. With these statics, it is evident that the world s population is increasing at an incomprehensive rate. With populations at their peak, overconsumption is another problem this world faces, as Dr. Forsyth affirms humans consume far more than their fair share of the Earth s natural productivity. Unfortunately, women s rights and abilities have been underestimated over the centuries. In the fourteenth century, the status and condition of a European woman depended on her husband s position. Women had to endure arranged marriages, abuse and male dominance. During that time, Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales and taught us about one extraordinary woman whose name is Dame Alisoun.
