Royal Alexandra Theatre
On Friday September 22nd, I traveled downtown to King Street to attend the evening show of
North by Northwest, directed by Simon Phillips, at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. As I
approached the theatre, it stood out amongst the busyness of Toronto streets due to a large,
vibrant red poster that immediately caught the eye allowing for no mistake to be made about
where the show was located. The roof above twinkled with hundreds of light bulbs, making any
audience member feel the sense of glamour as they entered the building. The box office, although
dimly light, had a friendly and respectful atmosphere with two kind ladies happy to help each
person who entered their doors. The detailed and archaic design of the box office created a feeling of

A variety of classic sound effects replicated the projection on screen in order to specify even
further the actions being performed such as using the telephone, riding in an elevator, arriving at a
train stop, and driving in a car. The sound effects created a connection to a more traditional sense of
theatre amongst the new technological addition of projectors. With the busyness of the opening
scene, a spotlight was used to appear on each actor as they spoke. This made it clear to the
audience where they should be looking and it lessened the overwhelming feeling of multiple
people being on stage at once. After the opening, the actors took off their own set pieces making
for a quick and smooth transition into the next scene. The cage surrounding the stage was
diversely used as walls, doors, and even an elevator. A separate cage piece was often lowered from
above to divide the stage in half from left to right when the whole stage did not need to be used. I
specifically admired that many of the set pieces had versatile purposes, such as the couch also
being used as the back seat of a taxi or the front seat of a car as other cast members pushed it around
on stage in order to create the sense of driving . In addition, the hotel lobby walls were reversible
flats that were able to be living room bookcases in a matter of seconds. The police station benches

Neurodevelopmental and Neurocognitive Disorders Essay
Neurodevelopmental and Neurocognitive Disorders Until the twentieth century, little account was
taken of the special characteristics of psychopathology in children; maladaptive patterns considered
relatively specific to childhood, such as autism, received virtually no attention at all (Butcher
Hooley, 2014). Today there is more attention paid to children with maladaptive behaviors and
scientific research has been done that demands more attention is paid to specific children s
behaviors, not the behaviors of adult as there are no fair comparisons that allow the diagnosis and
treatments of adult and children s behaviors to be equal. Neurodevelopment disorders in children

N., Hooley, J. M., Mineka, 2014). The causal factors for ADHD in children have been much
debated. It still remains unclear to what extent the disorder results from environmental or biological
factors (Carr et al., 2006; Hinshaw et al., 2007), and recent researchers believe that biological
factors such as genetic inheritance will turn out to be important precursors to the development of
ADHD (Durston, 2003). But firm conclusions about any biological basis for ADHD must await
further research (Butcher Hooley, 2014, p. 513). Treatment for ADHD that focuses on controlling
behavior with drugs has been promising. One particular treatment involved the effectiveness of
MTA fading procedures. According to the article, the findings suggest that in contrast to the
hypothesized deterioration in the relative benefit of behavioral modification between nine and 14
months (after completion of fading), the MTA behavior generalization and maintenance procedures
implemented through nine months apparently yield continuing improvement through 14 months,
with preservation of the relative position of behavior compared

The History Of Jazz
History of Jazz Jazz originated in New Orleans as a byproduct to the unique culturally rich
environment that encompassed the city in the 19th and 20th century. Jazz has a long history with
many influential artists, which made it one of the most diverse genres of our time (Basin 2014).
Jazz emerged as a part of a broad musical revolution encompassing many genres with a large
contribution from people of African heritage. Charles Bolden was one of the most influential artists
and is credited as the principle leader of the Jazzera. All in all, Jazz is a diverse genre with a rich
past encompassing many strong musicians (McNulty 2015). With the vestiges of French and
Spanish colonial roots, the resilience of African influences after the slavery era and the influx of
immigrants from Europe jazz was born. All of these cultures were intertwined to produce a new
sound that was distinctly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of his compositions, including Maple Leaf Rag and The Entertainer, were published and
sold across the country. Ragtime, although based on European classical music, led to the
development of the style known as stride piano, one of the first forms of jazz (Kingman 1990).
Another person instrumental in the development of jazz, was Jelly Roll Morton, who combined
ragtime with various other musical styles, including blues, minstrel show tunes, Hispanic music,
and white popular songs (United 2015). However, his virtuosity at the piano, and his mixture of
composition and improvisation had a lasting effect on jazz performance. Following Morton, was
James Johnson, who was influenced by growing up listening to works of Morton (United 2015).
He was one of the originators of the stride piano style. His music, which used most of the
conventions of ragtime, also included improvisation and elements of the blues, two aspects that
were widely influential in the development of

Forgotten Filipino Heroes in America
Delano Manongs
Manongs, is a common word I hear when I was in the Philippines, which means elderly. This is
what I call the jeepney drivers, strangers in the streets or even the security guard in my school.
But here in America, they were the forgotten heroes whom I look up to. They were named as
The Delano Manongs, kind hearted Filipino men, working in the fields with no families of their
own. I chose to report about the Delano Manongs because I went to one of the Filipino club
meeting in Chabot College and the topic was about Larry Itliong and Philip Vera Cruz. They

Now whats happening is that you get all this national publicity coming in but its focused on the
Mexican workers. o All the voulunteers is going there and all the organizing is happening there. o
The filipinos are not the spotlight for the strike. o Filipnos are drifting away because they were not
being the spotlight
And as time pass by the manongs return to work on the crop cycle in order to survive
In 1970 5 years after the filipinos walked out the fields. One of the longest strike in labor history.
The growers finally agreed to recognize the United Farmworkers Union and sign a contract.
But as the manong returned to Delano for the new grape harvest season, they found themselves
marginalized from work
The new union rules favored the local farmworkers and not the migrant workers. So amny of the
filipinos lost their jobs, and worst the farmers closed the lab or camps so they lost their homes
We started it an they lost in the end
Larry and the filipinos were upset for they were not being heard or they were being pushed

Review Of The Crucible

What is Corruption?
Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but in the most
simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse of judgment, the struggle between what is
right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to corruption, but some say it was
religious reasons that led to this malfeasance, meaning the devil, while others believe different.
People in today s society tend to relate this topic to politics because it is most commonly occurs
within that faction of society. Corruption is a reoccurring theme throughout The Crucible, it shows
through the political, McCarthyism, religious and personal reasons of the Colonial Era. The
Crucible takes place in the early England colonies in Salem, Massachusetts during what we know
as the witch trials. It is based on a group of girls involved in witch like activities, who begin to
accuse others of committing witchcraft just so that they do not get into trouble. One girl controls
the group, Abigail Williams, and she plots against Elizabeth Proctorwho is married to John Proctor,
who Abigail had an affair with. Due to these childish and dramatic acts of Abigail and the girls,
half the townspeople were taken to trial and found guilty of witchery and worshipping the devil and
were sentenced to hang. Not till the end did the townspeople realize their mistake about the
accusations, which turned out to be false.

Architecture Of Anglo Saxon Architecture
Early Britain was an era of take overs and violence , overall it was a time of darkness , but despite
the darkness this Anglo Saxon era was a time filled with a new culture and government . Anglo
Saxons came to Britain sometime during AD 425 450 and lasted until 1066 . When the Romans left
Britain , new settlement began . With the new population in Britain , there was a need for housing
too , the Anglo Saxon architecture however , did not start until the mid fifth century . Anglo Saxon
architecture is a different style than modern architecture .
The Anglo Saxon era was not as advanced as we are today , meaning they had to make do with
the resources they had . The resources the had were any natural resources around them or materials
that were man made . The Anglo Saxon homes were not built to last , but to provide shelter . Since
the housing was meant to last . Wattle and Daubhas been used to create a filler for the wooden
frames . It used materials that could be found easily which made it affordable to builders . The
wattle and daub is made by weaving together small wooden branches to create a wall . Mud ,
straw , horsehair and cow or horse dung is mixed together and then smeared on the walls . Once
this dries it is like plaster and can even be painted . (Glover). In house framing we mostly use wood
, but we are starting to use more steel and concrete . Most interior walls are made of plaster or
drywalls but can also be made of a stone or brick . The walls are made

Juvenile Curfew Laws
A 2011 study published in The American Law and Economics Review by the University of
California, Berkeley, The Impact of Juvenile Curfew Laws on Arrests of Youth and Adults,
analyzes data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation s Unified Criminal Reporting files. The
researcher focuses on arrests for both minor offenses (loitering and curfew violations) and more
serious infractions (such as violent crimes and property crimes). Key study findings indicated,
arrests of youths directly impacted by curfew restrictions drop by almost 15% in the first year and
approximately 10% in following years. In the average city, a permanent 10% reduction corresponds
to roughly 135 fewer youth arrests per year.

Summary Of Battle Hymn Of The Tiger Mother
In Patrick Goldstein s response to Amy Chua s book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, he makes
the argument that while earning a degree or graduating summa cum laude is critical to success
for some people. Many of today s wealthiest, most innovative people either dropped out or did not
go to college. Rather, they learned through informal experience, working their way from the
absolute bottom, up to becoming universally respected millionaires and billionaires. Goldstein
analyzes Chua s definition of the word success; to be top of the class, to go to an Ivy League school,
and to get a great paying job. He compares success to show biz and Hollywood, a town built by
mostly uneducated millionaires. He challenges Chua to see a different perspective on the means of
becoming successful. Goldstein mentions Chua s discussion with former president of Harvard
UniversityLarry Summers at a past World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Summers argued that
the two Harvard students that have had the most impact on the world both dropped out of the
school (Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg). Goldstein asserts that they didn t get to the top of their
industries by book learning. Their knowledge extended beyond the classroom, learning in a way
that Chua would consider unorthodox or weak. Gates and Zuckerberg became billionaires
partially because of their ideas, but a big part of their success was their ability to network with
their peers or big companies. In another example, Goldstein recalls

This website uses geometric lines and spaces to make its advantage. Generally, web developers
can utilize lines as a space or content divider and create attractive designs for backgrounds or
header images (South University Online, 2016). The Aquent website is a great example for this
concept which makes it appropriate for this page. This homepage includes many links,
nevertheless, navigation is not a problem since the links are clearly defined in both the header and
footer. It is more time consuming than usual to scroll through the homepage. Nonetheless, I am
certain that the design is still excellent and contends are laid out in an attractive manner. Once
more the designers have chosen the rectangle as the most used shape which helps to divide the
different sections of the page. Squares are used to link to different areas of the website. Aquent,

Research Paper On Queen Hatshepsut
Pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut
Allie Rupkalvis
Queen Hatshepsut of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt was one of the first known female
pharaohs. Born in 1507 BC, Hatshepsut was the longest reigning female pharaoh, who was in
power from almost twenty two years. Queen Hatshepsut is often considered to be one of the most
successful pharaohs in the history of ancient Egypt.
Daughter to Egyptian king, Thutmose I, and his principal wife, Ahmose, Hatshepsut was destined to
be the queen one day. King Thutmose I also had another child with one of his lesser wives,
Thutmose II. After her father s death, twelve year old Hatshepsut was married off to her half
brother, Thutmose II. Marrying within your family was common during that time period because
they wanted to keep the royal bloodline pure.
King Thutmose II s reigned over the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt for fifteen years, and Hatshepsut
took the traditional role as queen and principal wife. During Thutmose II and Hatshepsut s
marriage, Hatshepsut bore a daughter, Neferure, but no sons. However, Thutmose II had a male
heir, Thutmose III, with one of his lesser wives.
At the time of Thutmose II s death, Thutmose III was still an infant, unable to ascend the throne
unaided. Hatshepsut initially served as Thutmose III s regent, until, for reasons unknown,
Hatshepsut assumed the role of pharaoh. While Hatshepsut never officially gained possession of the
crown because Thutmose III was never uncrowned, it was clear that Hatshepsut was the primary
ruler.
Under the reign of Hatshepsut, Egypt flourished. Hatshepsut focused on economic prosperity and
rebuilding and restoring monuments throughout Egypt, rather than battles and conquering new
lands. Hatshepsut is credited for a trading expedition to the land of Punt, ships returned from the
island filled with gold, ivory, ebony, and myrrh trees. One of Hatshepsut s greatest accomplishments
as pharaoh was the memorial temple at Deir el Bahri. Hatshepsut s Mortuary Temple is considered
one of the architectural wonders of ancient Egypt.
On Year 22, 11 Peret day 10 (January 16, 1458 BC) of her reign Hatshepsut died. After the
mummified Hatshepsut was found, a CT scan showed that she had suffered from bone cancer,
diabetes, and

Confucianism And Legalism
The law in which the Qin constructed was harsh and unjust. They abolished the Zhou ist feudal
system, replacing it with controlled local administration. The term in which this practice is called is
Legalism; the belief in which people are born with evil tendencies. The government demanded total
subordination of the people to the ruler. Although there is no commonly recognized founder, there
is one person who is credited for the establishment of Legalism: Shang Yang, an important statesman
during the Warring States Period for the Qin. The policies and measures initiated by Shang Yang
were all designed to strengthen the state at the expense of the common people and the nobility, to
subjugate the society under state domination. Through... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This system was to keep everyone in their place and avoid rebellions and uprisings. There were
reports of subordination put into place once every three months, summaries every six, and
permanent records every twelve. There was a doctrine fixed into law, called the Six Parasites. This
is however a textual problem, there are actually sixteen. These parasites were rites, music, odes,
history, cultivation, goodness, filial devotion, brotherly love, sincerity, trustworthiness, uprightness,
integrity, humaneness, rightness, criticism of army, and lastly being ashamed of fighting. To
violate any of these laws against the six was subject to punishment. Death to any criminals and
any officials who allowed crimes, their punishments were carried out to their families and three
generations after. When punishments are imposed, they shall not be applied to the guilty party
alone. Punishments were severe. Small crimes were punished severly to make sure the
punishment was understood and not repeated, especially if it were a larger crime. When Shang
Yang wrote, ...if they let their ambition go too far, they will become too strong... it is interpreted
that knowledge and aspiration for a better life can be power and lead to rebellion against the
government. More consequential victims were the critical thinking of Legalists and the spirit of
ruling by law, blamed for Qin s demise and condemned for two millennia by Confucians advocating
the rule by men

How Did Roger Chillingworth Committed The Greatest Sin
Roger Chillingworth committed the greatest sin. He seems to be the character that has the
highest amount of flaws and also the highest amount of sins. He sent his beautiful wife away to
Boston for about two years, so he could live with Native Americans, and he became upset when
he found her with a child that was not his own. Chillingworth is also a man of science, which
means more than likely, he is not a man of God. In fact, he loses his soul to Satan and basically
becomes one of his demons. If sins could be greater or lesser than one another, his terrible sin of
revenge would be the greatest one of all. After Hester Prynne stands on the scaffold for her sin,
Chillingworth goes to her cell for two reasons. The public reason is to take care of her and little
Pearl; the private reason is to figure out who the father of her baby is. Hester vows not to tell
who the father is and not to tell who Chillingworth really is. From that moment on, Roger
Chillingworth devotes the rest of his life to finding out who the father is and to seek revenge on
that man. He spends several years living with Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale and figures out that he
is the father of Pearl. In fact, everyone in the town notices that his expressions and appearance

Analyzing Kehinde Wiley s Napoleon Leading The Army Over...
Kehinde Wiley s Napoleon Leading the Army over the Alps , is an oil painting on a canvas. The
painting is of a black man with his face toward us riding on a horse across stones that are all
different sizes. The stones have words on them and look like it was flat ground before but
something like an earthquake shifted the ground. In the background behind the man and the horseis
a red curtain with a tan design all over it. The man on the horse is also wearing a green
camouflage looking outfit with yellow boots and a yellowish gold cape, and he has a white
bandana on his head. The horse that the man is riding on is white with a black spot in between the
front legs on his chest and black around his eyes. The horse also is in a rearing position with the
man holding his right arm out pointing to the top of the paintingand his left arm holding onto the
reins.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The goal of this artwork, as stated on the Brooklyn Museum website, is that Wiley presents a
new brand of portraiture that redefines and affirms Black identity and simultaneously questions
the history of Western painting. These ideas are communicated in the painting because unlike
the original painting, Bonaparte Crossing the Alps at Grand Saint Bernard, the character in the
painting is a black male, which is indicating that he has power and a higher status that black
people did not have. Being a black male himself, Wiley was inspired to do this piece to show that
black people are just as equal as white. The teaching resource from Brooklyn Museum explains
how Wiley was brought up in an urban area when black people were not seen as equal to white
people, and they faced many challenges because of this. As mentioned in NY Times article A
Sprawling Retrospective for Kehinde Wiley s Heroic Portraits , most of Wiley s artwork represents
problems with identity and culture, and also historical

The official definition of a personality disorder is a psychopathological condition or group of
conditions in which an individual s entire life pattern is considered deviant or nonadaptive although
the individual shows neither neurotic symptoms nor psychotic disorganization according to the
Merriam Webster dictionary. I interpret to mean that there is some pattern of conditions that makes
the person seem a divergent compared to other people of the same age group and gender. Even
though people have these conditions, they show nothing that makes them seem inconsistent with
brain activity or anything like neurosis, which is a class of mental disorders that are derived from
distress, but do not include hallucinations or delusions. In the first cluster of disorders, Cluster A,
there are three disorders: Paranoid personality disorder (PD), Schizoid personality disorder (PD),
and Schizotypal personality disorder (PD). These disorders are classified as odd, bizarre, or
eccentric. A person with Paranoid PD has absolutely no trust in others, they are suspicious of
everyone and everything, looking for something that would confirm why they feel this distrust for
everything in their lives.

ADI Egg Lab Report
ADI Egg Lab Ritika Sharma
Section 1:
During the egg lab there was one guiding question we were trying to figure out. Which was what
effect do different solutions (maple syrup, mouth wash, and saltwater) have on cell size? Before we
started this lab we had to have our background information which was osmosis is when water
moves from a high concentration to a low concentration through a membrane. We also had to
know that hypotonic is when water is moving into the cell and the cell swells/expands.
Hypertonic is when water is moving out of the cell and the cell is shrinking. Isotonic is when an
equal amount of water is moving in and out of the cell at the same rate. The goal of the experiment

different solution had on the cell size we had to know our terminology, which was included in the
background information.
Section2:
For this lab we had to follow certain procedures. We had to first gather 3 eggs and 3 cups. Put
one egg in each cup then we had to get the 3 solutions that were being used for the experiment,
which was mouthwash, syrup, and salt water. We labeled the cups for which solution went
which what egg and then we had to measure each egg before putting it in the substance for 24
hours. To measure we got a string and wrapped it around each egg to get its circumference then
we took that measurement(the circumference of the string) and converted the string to a ruler to
find out the circumference. We did that for all three eggs and recorded that data down. Then we
put the eggs into their cup marked with their solution and waited 24 hours to record the data
again. We then got another egg for our control and measured it the same way as the other eggs
and put in water for 24 hours. The reason we used this set of procedures is so our experiment
would be very accurate, and easy to do so we would

brother Tom did not care about her appearance or her intellect. We first see Tom and Maggie s
relationship in Chapter 5. Here, Tom comes home from his first term at school and Maggie
dotes on him excitedly and affectionately. Tom has saved up all term to buy her a fishing line so
they could go fishing together; after sharing how he had to fight some boys over the money,
Maggie has nothing but adoration and affection for her brother. Tom, indifferent towards her
praise, decides to go and see his rabbits that Maggie had been taking care of for him; Maggie tells
him that she forgot to feed them and they passed away. Despite Maggie being a little girl, Tom
tells her he doesn t love her and cruelly reprimands her, reminding her of how she has done bad
things in the past. He later accepted her apologies and they share cake, her getting the bigger
piece, and they cuddle with each other. But, even then Tom has an issue with Maggie; she tried
to give the bigger piece to him, he refused, then proceeded to get upset at her anyway. The next
day the siblings went off to go fishing and Maggie is impressed by Tom s practical knowledge of
the outdoors and his superior presence; she is also respectful

The Effect Of Metal Chelation On Latin
Introduction
Chelate means claw in Latin. Metal Chelation is a process when a polyvalent metal ion form
covalent bonds with a drug and binds tightly to form a 5 or 6 membered ring. 5 and 6 membered
ring structure are very stable because their bond angle has no ring strain. Thus, when a compound
is chelated, it will not be able to pass through the biological membrane, in another words, it will not
be metabolise by the body but to be pass through the renal without being absorbed and being
excreted though urine. Essential metal such as magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc are easily found
in many food source and is vital to be included as part of our diet as these trace elements are
helping our body enzymes, hormones and cells to work. Insufficient intake of trace minerals can
cause symptoms of nutritional deficiency. (Glusker,1999) At certain times, these metal are also use
as an active ingredient or excipients in pharmaceutical industry.
Chelation of Alendroic Acid with Calcium
Alendronic acid is a bisphosphonate drug that is used to inhibit osteoclastic bone resorption .it
works by attaching to hydroxyapatite binding sites to impair the ability of the osteoclasts to
produce the protons necessary for continued bone resorption. It also inhibit osteoclast activity by
promoting osteoclast apoptosis. (pubmed ) Patient group who are mostly taking this medication are
postmenopausal women. As women reaches their menopausal age, oestrogen starts to deplete

A Class DIvided Essay
A CLASS DIVIDED
Thirty years ago Jane Elliott taught the third grade in the white, Christian community of Riceville,
Iowa. The day Martin Luther King Jr. was killed she planned an exercise that wouldn t just show
her students what racism is rather, it would give them first hand experience of what it felt like to be
oppressed for something out of their control.
Elliott divided her class by the color of their eyes, marked them with armbands and proceeded to
treat one group as if superior in capabilities to the other. The superior students performed better than
they ever had before, while the inferior students performance dropped. The next day, the third
graders traded ranks and their performance reversed in accordance to their ... Show more content on

has gone on to do the exercise with numerous adults and almost without exception the participants
abilities, such as reading and writing, are grossly affected.
Jane Elliott s approach is especially relevant today. It demonstrates that even without juridical
discrimination; hate speech, lowered expectations, and dismissive behavior can have devastating
effects on achievement. Black members of the blue eyed group forcefully remind whites that they
undergo similar stresses, not just for a few hours in a controlled experiment, but every day of their
lives. Although these concepts are food for thought... they are merely preludes to the main course.
The most important lesson to be learned here is that just one person can make a difference.
Next we join a group of 40 teachers, police, school administrators and social workers in Kansas
City blacks, Hispanics, whites, women and men. The blue eyed members are subjected to pseudo
scientific explanations of their inferiority, culturally biased IQ tests and blatant discrimination.
When the inevitable resistance by a blue eyes surfaces, Elliot cites the outburst as an example of

Genocide In Greek Genocide
One of the most gruesome genocides to happen during the 20th century is the Greek Genocide,
often referred to as the Pontian or Ottoman Greek Genocide. This genocide consisted of mass
killings and exterminations of the Ottoman Greeks by the Turkish rule from 1914 1923. The main
dispute was difference in religion and beliefs, Christians versus Islam. What most people do not
know is that the Ottoman Greek Genocide is responsible for the almost complete destruction of the
Christian Orthodox culture, including monuments and history. Many Greekssuffered from forced
deportations, death marches, forced conversion of religion, executions, labor battalions, hunger, and
the overall cruelty of the Turkish government during this time period. The ones responsible for
these acts was the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) and the Young Turk reformists who
seized control of the Ottoman Empire. Ottoman Greeks of all ages and genders were persecuted
because of their culture and minority in Turkey, so that the CUP and the Young Turks could
achieved perfect Turkification of the empire. The events of the Pontian Greek Genocide happened
in the westernmost part of Asia called Asia Minor or Anatolia, which is the Greek word for east .
The Greeks first settled in Asia Minor around the 11th century (BC). From the 4th century (AD),
Asia Minor s main religious practice has been Christianity in which it has played an important role
in the development of Christianity. For a long period of time,

Othello Play And Movie Comparison Essay
Many people prefer the book version of a story rather than the film it tries to become. This is due
to the fact that the author s intent of his own story is much more intriguing and familiar to its
readers than just another film version. However, some versions portray the story better than
others. Hollywood seems to have taken up the responsibility of creating complicated and
compelling characters on screen. Unfortunately, doing so can easily take away a story s rich,
necessary detail. For instance, Shakespeare s Othello has a few different movie versions of his
story. Both movies, the 1990 version by Trevor Nunn and the 1995 version by Oliver Parker, are
great productions carried by strong casts. However, there are areas in which the movie and the play
differ. These differences tend to interpret the filmin a different way compared to what Shakespeare
intended. The film portrayals of Shakespeare s Othello by Parker and the other by Nunn both
display the character of Desdemona in very different ways. The Nunn version of this play did a
much better job of portraying Desdemona as Shakespeare... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the first scene she appears in, she is dressed in all white and looks like a peasant. Her white
clothing symbolizes purity and wholeness. She shows that she has given up the luxurious part of
her life to be with Othello. This shows her selflessness. Also, Nunn made her more child like by
choosing an actress with a high pitched voice. She always jumped into the scene with
excitement in her voice when she spoke. Nunn also made it obvious that Desdemona s character
is very naive, just like a pure child would be. This is a necessary element to have in her character
because without her ability to trust so easily she would have seen right through Iago s schemes.

Essay On Venture Capital
Venture Capital is a specific term that refers to funding obtained from a venture capitalist. These
are professional serial investors and may be individuals or part of a firm. Often venture
capitalists have a niche based on business type and or size and or stage of growth. They are
likely to see a lot of proposals in front of them (sometimes hundreds a month), be interested in a
few, and invest in even fewer. Around 1 3% of all deals put to a venture capitalist get funded. So,
with the numbers that low, you need to be clearly impressive.

Zionism is the Jewish trying to get their own home. The World Zionist Organisation, set up by
Theodor Herzl was a means of achieving this. Because of this, the WZO had a large effect on
Palestine with the Social, Political and Economic impacts including, a change in the population,
cultural changes and a loss of wealth for the previous occupants of Palestine. Because of all of
this, we can see that the WZO has had a large impact on Palestine.
The Jewish Aliyah s (Zionist Immigration), heavily influenced by the idea of Zionism perpetrated
by the World Zionist Organisation, was a major event affecting the social aspect of Palestine.
Supporters of Zionism though that the Jewish people had an inherent right to Palestine, referring to
the divine promise of the land to the tribes of Israel.
They also thought that them having Palestine would solve the problem of Jewish dispersion and
anti Semitism. These Aliyah s made the Jewish community living in Palestine rise from 6 percent
of the population in 1880 to 10 percent by 1914. With the growing Jewish population, cultural
change was also brought about. The first Aliyah (1881 1903) created villages in Palestine for
farmers; the second (1904 1914) bought about settlement, leading to urban and industrial growth.

uncertainty and anger my wife and I share. We have every reason to stand together, hold each

more than two years old, is dying. She is so young, but still the hands of deathreach for her. Her

I live in my nice house, here on Isla Negra. However, what I ve done to get me here, it haunts me.
I have not killed anybody myself, there is no blood staining my hands. However, it feels like
there should be, for all I have survived. For all those who stood by me, that bled. There is only so
much a person should have to live with, only so much a person can live with before the darkness
behind them becomes overwhelming. I feel like, looking back on everything that I have
experienced, that everybody has a past that is dark. Everybody has things they have seen that haunt
them, that cloud the memories you would like to preserve, tainting them with the sorrow of
another time. When I look back, I see those I have lost, such as Malva and Maryka, my first true
love. She left to go back to Europe, and that was the last time I ever saw her. She took my only
daughter with her, where she would die 6 years later. I try to think back to the times where we
loved each other, where we had no quarrel or conflict, but it is clouded by the years of turmoil
and anger. I too moved to Europe, where I stayed with Delia del Carril in France before moving
to a diplomatic position in Spain. Here, I met with a new group of literary enthusiasts, some much
younger and some my age. However, living and writing in Spain was not long lived. A friend,
Federico GarcГa Lorca, was executed by Franco. The area of Madrid that I lived in was attacked
and burned, children killed by merciless soldiers. The time before the fall, the peace before the
storm, is blurred out and empty to think about, as it is overshadowed by the tragedy and loss that
it proceeded. I know that my memories are unique to me, and that some carry some much worse,
and that others don t carry very many in the first place. Things have changed, my perspective and
understanding of the world and the way its inhabitants work has been altered greatly. I see the light
of my past, reflecting back upon the things I have

Commemorate means to honor a certain place or a person. All these structures are important, but
the most significant structure to commemorate is clearly the Magazine. According to my research,

independence! The Revolutionary War started when Lord Dunmore and his British troops stole
all the colonists gunpowder from the Magazine. According to my research, the British also set a

snuck into the Magazine and tried to steal guns so that they could join The Revolutionary War
and fight for their state; even though they were underage to join the militia. When they opened

they didn t want to be told what to do from a king who is lives over at the other side of the sea!

Women Leaving Her Husband Analysis
Butler explains to her readers the ample reasons why wives of the medieval time period would
decide to leave their husbands. In fact, on page 338 of her article, Butler writes, The goal of this
paper is to provide a more comprehensive perspective of husband desertion, including the risks
involved in deserting one s husband, the wifes motivations, and the logistics of desertion (Butler
338). She begins her article with some background information in hopes to enlighten her readers
that at this point in history, men had all the power in any marriage. Following the brief history of
the misogyny found in medieval marriages, Butler uses the rest of her article to explain to her
readers the trials and tribulations these wives had to go through, the risk of others knowing she
wanted to leave, and what made the wives want to leave at all. Butler first chooses to explain what
the risks were when a wife left her husband during the medieval era. Due to the misogyny found in
medieval marriages, if a womandecided to leave her husband, she had to be well aware of the
consequences that would follow. For instance, Butler points out to her audience that if a woman
decided to leave her husband, then must live with the label of adulteress. This label guarantees that
this woman would never be able to claim any inheritance in... Show more content on

Boptany Importance Of Science
Botany, the science of the vegetable kingdom, is one of the most attractive, most useful, and most

Joseph Paxton, a gardener and member of the British Parliament in the nineteenth century (Paxton
1).Why is botanysuch a enjoyable profession? The many activities you can attend such as growing
and trimming are both easy ways to make money ,but take a lot of responsibility. As one prepares
for a future in the field of Biology, one must consider the historical background, the educational
requirements, the work environment, the duties and responsibilities, wages and benefits, and the
potential for advancement of Botany.
Botany began near the Neolithic Period but wasn t scientifically studied until the 1700 s. During the
Neolithic Period they had the knowledge of farming and soon began growing their own crops.
Fruits and vegetables have been an important part of social development since the beginning of
time. In Ancient Greece and Rome philosophers urged more learning in sciences, they began
learning more about plants. The philosopher Theophrastus was known as The Father of Botany
because of two seminal works that were used for the next 1500 years and survive today (Mason).
For the next 1500 years, there would be little development and most botanical studies were limited
to places of learning such as universities and monasteries (Mason). The history of Botany is very

Examples Of Irony In The Kite Runner

uses expresses the beauty of irony throughout his famous novel, The Kite Runner. There are
many instances throughout the novel in which events seem to be leaning one way and then
suddenly change, unfortunately for the worse. These examples include experiences with Baba,
Amir and Hassan. Hosseini s use of irony really hooks the reader, leaving an unpredictable series

lied to him about Hassan being his brother. Baba said, There is only one sin. And that is theft...

went against what he said was right. Baba had not only lied to Amir, but to Hassan and others as
well. Baba had been doing something he knew was wrong, but he had still chosen to go against
his own beliefs and do it anyway. The theme addressed here is simply betrayal. Baba is
consistently hypocritical throughout the novel. For example, Baba is immensely ashamed of
11 year old Amir for crying when he saw a man murdered in the street, but later in the novel
when Ali and Hassan leave for good, Baba is full of tears. This reveals the bias and corrupt
personality Baba possesses. Baba is not a great father and only shows his affection for Amir
when great successes occur such as the kite competition victory. Baba betrays many characters
in the novel, however he does most of an injustice to Amir, his son. Baba never informing him of
his sibling relationship with Hassan appears as stupidity and selfishness. Baba does not wish to
provide joy for his sons at the cost of revealing that he had slept with Ali s wife and produced

idea of forgiveness. Baba does a poor job as a father for the most part of his life and on his deathbed

depression. We focus on GI, GL, high calorie diet and BMI and describe biological and behavioral
mechanisms in relation to GI Depression
Introduction:
The consumption of sweetened beverages, refined foods, and pastries has been shown to be
associated with an increased risk of depression in longitudinal studies. However, any influence that
refined carbohydrates has on mood could be commensurate with their proportion in the overall diet;
studies are therefore needed that measure overall intakes of carbohydrate and sugar, glycemic index
(GI), and glycemic load.
The glycemic index or glycaemic index (GI) is a number associated with a particular type ... Show

The glycemic load (GL) of food is a number that estimates how much the food will raise a person
s blood glucose level after eating it. One unit of glycemic load approximates the effect of
consuming one gram of glucose. Glycemic load accounts for how much carbohydrate is in the
food and how much each gram of carbohydrate in the food raises blood glucose levels. Glycemic
load is based on the glycemic index (GI), and is calculated by multiplying the grams of available
carbohydrate in the food times the food s GI and then dividing by 100.
Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person s thoughts,
behavior, feelings and sense of well being. People with depressed mood can feel sad, anxious,
empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, ashamed or restless. They may lose interest
in activities that were once pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems
concentrating, remembering details or making decisions, and may contemplate, attempt or
commit suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, aches, pains, digestive problems or
reduced energy may also be present. Depressed mood is a feature of some psychiatric syndromes
such as major depressive disorder, but it may also be a normal reaction to life events such as grief,
a symptom of some bodily ailments or a side effect of some drugs and medical treatments.
In this review I will talk about high glycemic index

My Writing That I Did Not Know Before
Over the course of this class I have learned many things about writing that I did not know before,
because I never had any great instruction before i came to college. In Grade school and high
school, when I got back a graded paper there would just be words crossed out, or punctuation
corrections. There would never be any explanation as to why I need to correct this, or why this
is wrong. I would go over the corrections and wonder how this is wrong and why does a comma
go there but why doesn t a comma go here. When reading the corrections and notes you made on
each of my papers this year, I more easily understood why something was wrong. I might not have
made the same corrections in the next paper, but each paper I got back I understood what was
wrong, and what I needed to do to correct it. I think I understood more about writingwith each
paper that I wrote this year. I might not have shown it with each paper because I seem to always
make the same errors. I always get mixed up when using singular and plural nouns, using the
same adjective throughout the paper, and not being descriptive. I knew after you made the
corrections why something is wrong, but I never seemed to make the corrections myself, because
I have a habit of making those same mistakes, and because it sounds like it is right to me because
I speak that way myself. Those errors I made in each of my papers seemed to be right at the time
of me writing them, but when you pointed them out to me after giving back

Urban India vs. Rural India
Globalization has had an astonishing impact on the modern world. It has allowed nations to connect
with other nations through mediums such as the internet, fax machines, music and television.
Globalization has also encouraged companies to take advantage of the knowledge and talents of
people all over the world. Outsourcing has created thousands of job opportunities for developing
nations. The flow of income into developing countries has allowed people to increase their standard
of living (Friedman, 126 150).
Globalization has also helped expand the consumer base of many corporations to the furthest
reaches of the globe. It facilitates communication and commerce between countries in ways never

Multinational businesses exploit their Indian employees as they do not command the same wages
as employees in more developed nations. However, these wages are deemed significant and
impressive in comparison to the alternatives. These highly educated individuals of India have
landed jobs with multinational corporations that have set up in many cities of India. They are
benefiting from the outsourced service jobs that have been shifted from other countries. Many call
centers have been relocated to India in order to save the company money on wage expenses.
According to Thomas Friedman, a number of young Indian people receive accent coaching to
better emulate American and British English. Some even select new names in order to sound more
welcoming to their international callers. Many accounting tasks have also been outsourced to
India. The people are very well versed with accounting procedures and are saving companies
thousands of dollars. In general, the corporate bureaucrats feel that outsourcing lower skilled
responsibilities frees up time for American workers to tackle more complex duties (Friedman 216

Being Green Is A Popular Song By Joe Raposo
Being green is a popular song written by Joe Raposo, originally performed by Jim Henson as
Kermit the Frog on Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. In the Muppets version, Kermit begins
by complaining his green coloration, shows that the green color is blending woith the other colors
and have its own color presentation. In the end of the song, Kermit refers positive associations with
the colorgreen, and concluded it by embracing and accepting his live for the green color. The
signature line of the songs is still present in most of the cultures in these times. It is like a phrase
that has since appeared in most of the situations in their working and pop cultures. It is most of
the times quoted as expression of melancholy over the life of the one. The song has a link with
questions of identity and individuality, but also has a strong collaboration with the themes of
celebration and self love of diversity, especially in the color senses, that was the main social aspect
in the culture of America at the point of the debuting of songs. With the passage of times, as green

Essay On Smitten Ice Cream
I doubt that you have taste buds. The rather offensive comment was what my friend heard from a
stranger who overheard our conversation at Patricia s Green in Hayes Valley. My friend just
admitted that he was not a huge fan of Smitten Ice Cream, a local nitrogen ice cream shop located
in San Francisco. It was almost unacceptable not to be in love with such rich and creamy thing
nitrogen icecream often referred as revolution of ice cream among San Franciscans. I loved
living in Hayes Valley because it had Smitten. On the weekends, I would go to the ice cream
place converted from an old shipping container. What was special about Smitten is that it has a
viewing area for customers to enjoy watching their orders being prepared with fog oozing out like
in a chemistry experiment. The secret of Smitten lies with that fog of liquid nitrogen. Smitten
always had four flavors: Classic Vanilla and TCHO chocolate were the fixed. The other two
depended on the ingredients they had that day. Besides Brown sugar with cinnamon shortcake ,

Ice cream is rather a complex mixture of different particles interacting with each other to create
unique properties of the food. The first component ice crystals are formed when water in ice
cream base freezes. The key to make smooth ice cream is to prevent ice crystals to form in big
size during freezing. Rapid freezing and constant churning of base lead water contents to form
many minute sized crystals. The texture of ice cream with many smaller ice crystals is better
than that with fewer big crystals. Also, by reducing the amount of water in the base that will be
formed into ice crystals by increasing other ingredients such as milk fat, sugar and other solids can
be a way. However, while normally water takes up 60% of ice cream base, more than 47% of the
total solids will give heavy and chewy

  • 2. Royal Alexandra Theatre On Friday September 22nd, I traveled downtown to King Street to attend the evening show of North by Northwest, directed by Simon Phillips, at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. As I approached the theatre, it stood out amongst the busyness of Toronto streets due to a large, vibrant red poster that immediately caught the eye allowing for no mistake to be made about where the show was located. The roof above twinkled with hundreds of light bulbs, making any audience member feel the sense of glamour as they entered the building. The box office, although dimly light, had a friendly and respectful atmosphere with two kind ladies happy to help each person who entered their doors. The detailed and archaic design of the box office created a feeling of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A variety of classic sound effects replicated the projection on screen in order to specify even further the actions being performed such as using the telephone, riding in an elevator, arriving at a train stop, and driving in a car. The sound effects created a connection to a more traditional sense of theatre amongst the new technological addition of projectors. With the busyness of the opening scene, a spotlight was used to appear on each actor as they spoke. This made it clear to the audience where they should be looking and it lessened the overwhelming feeling of multiple people being on stage at once. After the opening, the actors took off their own set pieces making for a quick and smooth transition into the next scene. The cage surrounding the stage was diversely used as walls, doors, and even an elevator. A separate cage piece was often lowered from above to divide the stage in half from left to right when the whole stage did not need to be used. I specifically admired that many of the set pieces had versatile purposes, such as the couch also being used as the back seat of a taxi or the front seat of a car as other cast members pushed it around on stage in order to create the sense of driving . In addition, the hotel lobby walls were reversible flats that were able to be living room bookcases in a matter of seconds. The police station benches were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Neurodevelopmental and Neurocognitive Disorders Essay Neurodevelopmental and Neurocognitive Disorders Until the twentieth century, little account was taken of the special characteristics of psychopathology in children; maladaptive patterns considered relatively specific to childhood, such as autism, received virtually no attention at all (Butcher Hooley, 2014). Today there is more attention paid to children with maladaptive behaviors and scientific research has been done that demands more attention is paid to specific children s behaviors, not the behaviors of adult as there are no fair comparisons that allow the diagnosis and treatments of adult and children s behaviors to be equal. Neurodevelopment disorders in children result in maladaptive behavior which appears in different life... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... N., Hooley, J. M., Mineka, 2014). The causal factors for ADHD in children have been much debated. It still remains unclear to what extent the disorder results from environmental or biological factors (Carr et al., 2006; Hinshaw et al., 2007), and recent researchers believe that biological factors such as genetic inheritance will turn out to be important precursors to the development of ADHD (Durston, 2003). But firm conclusions about any biological basis for ADHD must await further research (Butcher Hooley, 2014, p. 513). Treatment for ADHD that focuses on controlling behavior with drugs has been promising. One particular treatment involved the effectiveness of MTA fading procedures. According to the article, the findings suggest that in contrast to the hypothesized deterioration in the relative benefit of behavioral modification between nine and 14 months (after completion of fading), the MTA behavior generalization and maintenance procedures implemented through nine months apparently yield continuing improvement through 14 months, with preservation of the relative position of behavior compared ... Jazz has a long history with many influential artists, which made it one of the most diverse genres of our time (Basin 2014). Jazz emerged as a part of a broad musical revolution encompassing many genres with a large contribution from people of African heritage. Charles Bolden was one of the most influential artists and is credited as the principle leader of the Jazzera. All in all, Jazz is a diverse genre with a rich past encompassing many strong musicians (McNulty 2015). Another person instrumental in the development of jazz, was Jelly Roll Morton, who combined ragtime with various other musical styles, including blues, minstrel show tunes, Hispanic music, and white popular songs (United 2015). However, his virtuosity at the piano, and his mixture of composition and improvisation had a lasting effect on jazz performance. Following Morton, was James Johnson, who was influenced by growing up listening to works of Morton (United 2015). He was one of the originators of the stride piano style. • 6. Review Of The Crucible Kristina Garcia Mrs. Herrera English III December 11, 2016 What is Corruption? Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but in the most simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse of judgment, the struggle between what is right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to corruption, but some say it was religious reasons that led to this malfeasance, meaning the devil, while others believe different. People in today s society tend to relate this topic to politics because it is most commonly occurs within that faction of society. Corruption is a reoccurring theme throughout The Crucible, it shows through the political, McCarthyism, religious and personal reasons of the Colonial Era. The Crucible takes place in the early England colonies in Salem, Massachusetts during what we know as the witch trials. It is based on a group of girls involved in witch like activities, who begin to accuse others of committing witchcraft just so that they do not get into trouble. One girl controls the group, Abigail Williams, and she plots against Elizabeth Proctorwho is married to John Proctor, who Abigail had an affair with. Due to these childish and dramatic acts of Abigail and the girls, half the townspeople were taken to trial and found guilty of witchery and worshipping the devil and were sentenced to hang. Not till the end did the townspeople realize their mistake about the accusations, which turned out to be false. Political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Anglo Saxon architecture is a different style than modern architecture . The Anglo Saxon era was not as advanced as we are today , meaning they had to make do with the resources they had . The resources the had were any natural resources around them or materials that were man made . The Anglo Saxon homes were not built to last , but to provide shelter . Since the housing was meant to last . Wattle and Daubhas been used to create a filler for the wooden frames . It used materials that could be found easily which made it affordable to builders . The wattle and daub is made by weaving together small wooden branches to create a wall . Mud , straw , horsehair and cow or horse dung is mixed together and then smeared on the walls . • 10. Summary Of Battle Hymn Of The Tiger Mother In Patrick Goldstein s response to Amy Chua s book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, he makes the argument that while earning a degree or graduating summa cum laude is critical to success for some people. Many of today s wealthiest, most innovative people either dropped out or did not go to college. Rather, they learned through informal experience, working their way from the absolute bottom, up to becoming universally respected millionaires and billionaires. Goldstein analyzes Chua s definition of the word success; to be top of the class, to go to an Ivy League school, and to get a great paying job. He compares success to show biz and Hollywood, a town built by mostly uneducated millionaires. He challenges Chua to see a different perspective on the means of becoming successful. Goldstein mentions Chua s discussion with former president of Harvard UniversityLarry Summers at a past World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Summers argued that the two Harvard students that have had the most impact on the world both dropped out of the school (Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg). Goldstein asserts that they didn t get to the top of their industries by book learning. Their knowledge extended beyond the classroom, learning in a way that Chua would consider unorthodox or weak. Gates and Zuckerberg became billionaires partially because of their ideas, but a big part of their success was their ability to network with their peers or big companies. In another example, Goldstein recalls ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Research Paper On Queen Hatshepsut Pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut Allie Rupkalvis Queen Hatshepsut of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt was one of the first known female pharaohs. Born in 1507 BC, Hatshepsut was the longest reigning female pharaoh, who was in power from almost twenty two years. Queen Hatshepsut is often considered to be one of the most successful pharaohs in the history of ancient Egypt. Daughter to Egyptian king, Thutmose I, and his principal wife, Ahmose, Hatshepsut was destined to be the queen one day. King Thutmose I also had another child with one of his lesser wives, Thutmose II. After her father s death, twelve year old Hatshepsut was married off to her half brother, Thutmose II. Marrying within your family was common during that time period because they wanted to keep the royal bloodline pure. King Thutmose II s reigned over the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt for fifteen years, and Hatshepsut took the traditional role as queen and principal wife. During Thutmose II and Hatshepsut s marriage, Hatshepsut bore a daughter, Neferure, but no sons. However, Thutmose II had a male heir, Thutmose III, with one of his lesser wives. At the time of Thutmose II s death, Thutmose III was still an infant, unable to ascend the throne unaided. Hatshepsut initially served as Thutmose III s regent, until, for reasons unknown, Hatshepsut assumed the role of pharaoh. While Hatshepsut never officially gained possession of the crown because Thutmose III was never uncrowned, it was clear that Hatshepsut was the primary ruler. Under the reign of Hatshepsut, Egypt flourished. Hatshepsut focused on economic prosperity and rebuilding and restoring monuments throughout Egypt, rather than battles and conquering new lands. Hatshepsut is credited for a trading expedition to the land of Punt, ships returned from the island filled with gold, ivory, ebony, and myrrh trees. One of Hatshepsut s greatest accomplishments as pharaoh was the memorial temple at Deir el Bahri. Hatshepsut s Mortuary Temple is considered one of the architectural wonders of ancient Egypt. On Year 22, 11 Peret day 10 (January 16, 1458 BC) of her reign Hatshepsut died. After the mummified Hatshepsut was found, a CT scan showed that she had suffered from bone cancer, diabetes, and ... Although there is no commonly recognized founder, there is one person who is credited for the establishment of Legalism: Shang Yang, an important statesman during the Warring States Period for the Qin. There were reports of subordination put into place once every three months, summaries every six, and permanent records every twelve. There was a doctrine fixed into law, called the Six Parasites. This is however a textual problem, there are actually sixteen. These parasites were rites, music, odes, history, cultivation, goodness, filial devotion, brotherly love, sincerity, trustworthiness, uprightness, integrity, humaneness, rightness, criticism of army, and lastly being ashamed of fighting. To violate any of these laws against the six was subject to punishment. Death to any criminals and any officials who allowed crimes, their punishments were carried out to their families and three generations after. When punishments are imposed, they shall not be applied to the guilty party alone. Punishments were severe. Small crimes were punished severly to make sure the punishment was understood and not repeated, especially if it were a larger crime. When Shang Yang wrote, ...if they let their ambition go too far, they will become too strong... it is interpreted that knowledge and aspiration for a better life can be power and lead to rebellion against the government. More consequential victims were the critical thinking of Legalists and the spirit of ruling by law, blamed for Qin s demise and condemned for two millennia by Confucians advocating the rule by men ... Being a black male himself, Wiley was inspired to do this piece to show that black people are just as equal as white. The teaching resource from Brooklyn Museum explains how Wiley was brought up in an urban area when black people were not seen as equal to white people, and they faced many challenges because of this. Put one egg in each cup then we had to get the 3 solutions that were being used for the experiment, which was mouthwash, syrup, and salt water. We labeled the cups for which solution went which what egg and then we had to measure each egg before putting it in the substance for 24 hours. To measure we got a string and wrapped it around each egg to get its circumference then we took that measurement(the circumference of the string) and converted the string to a ruler to find out the circumference. We did that for all three eggs and recorded that data down. Then we put the eggs into their cup marked with their solution and waited 24 hours to record the data again. • 22. The Effect Of Metal Chelation On Latin Introduction Chelate means claw in Latin. Metal Chelation is a process when a polyvalent metal ion form covalent bonds with a drug and binds tightly to form a 5 or 6 membered ring. 5 and 6 membered ring structure are very stable because their bond angle has no ring strain. Thus, when a compound is chelated, it will not be able to pass through the biological membrane, in another words, it will not be metabolise by the body but to be pass through the renal without being absorbed and being excreted though urine. Essential metal such as magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc are easily found in many food source and is vital to be included as part of our diet as these trace elements are helping our body enzymes, hormones and cells to work. Insufficient intake of trace minerals can cause symptoms of nutritional deficiency. (Glusker,1999) At certain times, these metal are also use as an active ingredient or excipients in pharmaceutical industry. This genocide consisted of mass killings and exterminations of the Ottoman Greeks by the Turkish rule from 1914 1923. The main dispute was difference in religion and beliefs, Christians versus Islam. What most people do not know is that the Ottoman Greek Genocide is responsible for the almost complete destruction of the Christian Orthodox culture, including monuments and history. • 26. Othello Play And Movie Comparison Essay Many people prefer the book version of a story rather than the film it tries to become. This is due to the fact that the author s intent of his own story is much more intriguing and familiar to its readers than just another film version. However, some versions portray the story better than others. Hollywood seems to have taken up the responsibility of creating complicated and compelling characters on screen. Unfortunately, doing so can easily take away a story s rich, necessary detail. For instance, Shakespeare s Othello has a few different movie versions of his story. Both movies, the 1990 version by Trevor Nunn and the 1995 version by Oliver Parker, are great productions carried by strong casts. However, there are areas in which the movie and the play differ. These differences tend to interpret the filmin a different way compared to what Shakespeare intended. • 40. My Writing That I Did Not Know Before Over the course of this class I have learned many things about writing that I did not know before, because I never had any great instruction before i came to college. In Grade school and high school, when I got back a graded paper there would just be words crossed out, or punctuation corrections. There would never be any explanation as to why I need to correct this, or why this is wrong. I would go over the corrections and wonder how this is wrong and why does a comma go there but why doesn t a comma go here. When reading the corrections and notes you made on each of my papers this year, I more easily understood why something was wrong. I might not have made the same corrections in the next paper, but each paper I got back I understood what was wrong, and what I needed to do to correct it. I think I understood more about writingwith each paper that I wrote this year. I might not have shown it with each paper because I seem to always make the same errors. I always get mixed up when using singular and plural nouns, using the same adjective throughout the paper, and not being descriptive. I knew after you made the corrections why something is wrong, but I never seemed to make the corrections myself, because I have a habit of making those same mistakes, and because it sounds like it is right to me because I speak that way myself. Those errors I made in each of my papers seemed to be right at the time of me writing them, but when you pointed them out to me after giving back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Essay On Smitten Ice Cream I doubt that you have taste buds. The rather offensive comment was what my friend heard from a stranger who overheard our conversation at Patricia s Green in Hayes Valley. It was almost unacceptable not to be in love with such rich and creamy thing nitrogen icecream often referred as revolution of ice cream among San Franciscans. I loved living in Hayes Valley because it had Smitten. On the weekends, I would go to the ice cream place converted from an old shipping container. What was special about Smitten is that it has a viewing area for customers to enjoy watching their orders being prepared with fog oozing out like in a chemistry experiment. The secret of Smitten lies with that fog of liquid nitrogen. Smitten always had four flavors: Classic Vanilla and TCHO chocolate were the fixed. The other two depended on the ingredients they had that day. Besides Brown sugar with cinnamon shortcake , which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
