Weapons Of Mass Destruction Essay
In the text weapons of mass destruction refers to materials, weapons, or devices that are
intended to cause death or serious bodily injury to a significant number of people (page 711,
para. 3,4). In 1939, Albert Einstein s Letter to President Roosevelt mentioned that the work of
scientists E. Fermi and L. Szilard led him to expect that uranium may be turned into a source of
energy in the immediate future (Page 1, para. 1). Einstein knew how powerful uranium was and
how a very large amount of it could set up a nuclear chain reaction. He knew that if in case this
did happen he wanted the president to be well prepared for the outcome. Einstein argued that
weapons of mass destruction required a lot of attention and if they are going to be initiated then
the following steps should be followed: a person who is confident and trustworthy should keep the
government updated with further development and put forward recommendations for government
action, particularly the secure supply of uranium (Page 2, para. 6). Secondly, this person should
also speed up work by making sure funds are provided and also that they have the necessary
equipment needed for completion (page 2, para. 7)
In the Draft of Press Release Announcing the Use of the Atomic Bomb in 1945, Stimson argued
that he believed dropping the bomb would force japan to surrender on terms acceptable to the

1.10.1.2 Patent Act 1970, Product Patent Act 2005:
Intellectual property is the creation of the mind. Hence it is a different kind of property/ property
that is intangible, so required a different kind of protection. Intellectual property is the body of law
which protects the creative invention of the person who has disclosed the creative invention of the
benefits of the mankind from those who can copy or imitate the idea.
A patent is the grant from the government for the limited span of time for making, selling and
marketing the product for which a patent is granted. Patent Act1970, rules, 1972, and amendments
act 2005 protects the product of the creative mind. This is a grant for 20 years. This act ensures
that drug should be available at reasonable price to the consumers. There is also some provision to
meet the public health emergency. Revocation of patent for the public interest is also on the
security side.

Self Analysis Of Mirror By Sylvia Plath
Introduction The lyric poem Mirror was written in 1961 by the late Sylvia Plath. This poem was
not published until 1971; ten years after it was written. Mirror was written two years before Plath
separated from her husband and shortly after committing suicide. Mirror speaks freely about
women and their obsession with appearance and aging. In a way Plath used Mirror, in order to
portray what she herself had been dealing with, in a time where she felt the most vulnerable and
insecure as she was getting older. This was a self reflectionpoem from the voice of a third party;
which in this case would be the mirror itself. The Mirror was the main character that would see
many faces, after reading this poem it would seem as if Plath was using the mirror to criticize
women in general for feeling the way they do about their appearance, when in fact the second
stanza focuses on one particular woman, which is believed to be Plath criticizing herself for the way
she felt about her appearance and aging. The theme of women and their obsession with appearance
and aging is portrayed through the use of various literary devices and no specific rhyme scheme,
however, metaphors, symbolism, and imagery are prominent throughout the entire poem.

Mirror was used to help the reader reflect on what they were going through by accounting the
experiences of Plath. With time a woman who was once a young child started becoming a worn
old woman, who was compared to an ugly fish in the poem. The use of metaphors, symbolism, and
imagery brought all those aspects of what many compare aging and appearance to but this poem
did it in such an imaginative and beautiful way that the reader didn t realize what pained Sylvia

Italian Neorealism
Italian Neo realism Thesis
What?
It sought to deal realistically with the events leading up to the war and with their resulting social
problems. Rooted in the 1920s, it was similar to the verismo ( realism ) movement, from which it
originated, but differed in that its upsurge resulted from the intense feelings inspired by fascist
repression, the Resistance, and the war.
Italian aesthetic movement that flourished especially after World War II.
Neorealism in film embraced a documentary like objectivity; actors were often amatuers, and the
action centred on commonplace situations. Often crudely and hastily made, Neorealist productions
stood in stark contrast to traditional escapist feature films.
It must be said that neorealist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A year later PaisГ (Italy 1946) took the process of nation building further by not only attempting to
unite different regional communities together in its six different episodes but also explicitly
bringing spaces together in the map of the Italian peninsula which gradually becomes uniformly
white as the forces of liberation are shown moving upwards along the Italian boot. It s significant,
suggests Restivo in an aside, that Rossellini doesn t end up showing the Italian boot completely
whitened by the movement of liberation but rather allows a stain to remain in the northeastern
sector, approximately at the place of SalГІ (Italy/France, 1975).
Nevertheless, as is well known, Neorealism itself failed and, in a sense, was destined to fail. On
the one hand its commitment to an aesthetics of reality was self defeating since Italy s millenarian
regionalism worked against the construction of anything but the most fictionalised national unity.
On the other hand the radical political openness that had existed briefly after the war which had
allowed Neorealism to project an Italy fashioned along the lines of Partisan dreams, was greatly
reduced by the 1948 elections and reduced further as the Christian Democrat party consolidated its
power in the early 1950s. Neorealism thus disappeared and left the representation of the fragmented
real Italy, in

Socrates and Virtue
At the beginning of Meno Socrates and Meno are discussing what they think the true definition of
virtue is. They debate over this matter for quite some time and Meno continues to throw definitions,
of what he thinks virtue is, at Socrates. It seems like every time Meno would come up with what he
thought virtuewas Socrateswould shoot it down. Socrates would not come out and say this is not
right, he would merely ask him a series of questions in order for Meno to realize it on his own. One
after another Socrates continues to find problems with Meno s reasoning behind his definitions.
After the fourth attempt they finally decide they would try to start over with a clean slate in order
to find out what virtue truly is. At this point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Socrates says that all activities done by humans depends on the soul itself, and if you are going to
do some beneficial then it involves wisdom to a certain extent. So if in order to do something
beneficial you need wisdom and they defined virtue as being something beneficial, therefore
making the valid point that virtue is wisdom, for the most part ( Sections 87e В– 89b).
Virtue is what you make of it. Yes, to some extent, I agree with Socrates with virtue as wisdom,
but that is about as far as you can go with it. Really it is what you are willing to make of it in
your own life. There are good types of virtues and then there are harmful types of virtue. Now
you cannot really say that there are beneficial types of virtue and bad types of virtue. The reason
behind this is because, to some people, virtue can be beneficial in a bad way instead of the
beneficial that most people first think of. It varies from person to person. There is really no way
of putting one basic definition on virtue. Virtue encompasses so many different things, it would be
nearly impossible for us to slap a definition on it without finding a glitch or something wrong with
the definition. There will always be someone there to find a problem with it, because is that not the
way our society works? Somebody comes up with one thing, then after a while someone comes up
something wrong with that idea and proposes a new,

Essay On Assessing Competency
Assessing Competency In order for a defendant to plead guilty, he or she must understand the
circumstances and consequences of their plea. They must understand that if they put in a guilty
plea, they are agreeing with the fact that they did the crime. Depending on how gruesome the
crime is that was committed the attorney and judge can send the defendant out for a psych
evaluation. Once at the psych evaluation the psychologist will ask the accused a series of
questions. The doctor will look at the accused past and current situation to help understand more
about the patient. The psychiatrist will help the court understand if a person is fit to stand trial.
Everyone wants to know if the accused is capable of making decisions on his behalf.
Every person being accused is considered competent unless it can be proven otherwise. Until that
is proven, the case will be treated as a normal case. If the defendant is found incompetent to stand
trial there will be further testing done; and the trial or court proceedings may be put on hold. If
found incompetent the patient will not be able to understand what s being discussed. He or she

South African Segregation And Isolation In South Africa
From 1948 to 1991 South Africa was going through a humanitarian crisis similar to what was
occurring in America, segregation. However, there was one key difference in South Africa, the
black South Africans were being controlled by a white South African minority. In America, non
colored citizens didn t have to do much to segregate life, but in South Africa, the white South
Africans needed to feel like they were in control. After the National party was elected in 1948, the
government (white south Africans) started to heavily segregate South Africa. The result of the
heavy segregation and hard laws resulted in a tremendous feeling of exile. Isolation was an
extensive part of the apartheid years in South Africa as shown by the cruel prison sentences,

Analysis Of Proposition Of Rational Expectations,...
CHAPTER ELEVEN
STUDY WITH INVARIANCE PROPOSITION OF RATIONAL EXPECTATIONS
11.1 Introduction The concept of Invariance Proposition of Rational Expectations, developed by
Lucas, Sargent and Wallace in early seventies, presents the idea that the anticipated part of money
supply affects price level. Since the present work is devoted to study the relationship between
money supply and price level, the Invariance Proposition theory of rational expectation can be
applied to examine the relationship between anticipated money supply and price level. In order to
apply Invariance Proposition theory in examining the impact of anticipated money supply on price
level, we need to estimate the anticipated money supply.
There are several procedures to estimate the anticipated money supply; the present study has applied
ARIMA structures of narrow and broad money supply for the estimation of anticipated money
supply. After identifying anticipated money supply, a regression equation has been performed
taking price level as dependent variable and anticipated money supply as explanatory variable.
11.2 ARIMA Model for M1 Money Supply
In order to quantify anticipated money supply, the ARIMA model has been applied. For this
purpose equation (11.1) has been employed for ARIMA structure for M1 money supply, on the
basis of which the anticipated M1 money supplies has been quantified.

Sodium Bicarbonate And Hydrochloric Acid Airbags
Scenario:
In this experiment, you have been asked by your teacher, to investigate the design of a small
scale airbag system they want to produce as a child safety device to put into baby strollers.
Because of sodium azide s toxicity (which is used in many vehicular airbags), it is suggested you
use the reaction of NaHCOв‚ѓ (sodium bicarbonate or baking soda) with an aqueous solution of
HCL (stomach acid) to produce COв‚‚ gas to test your engineering design. The reaction of
hydrochloric acid and sodium bicarbonate is: HCL + NaHCOв‚ѓ, one mole of COв‚‚ gas is
produced. Regarding the other products, NaCl dissolves in the water to create a salt solution which
occupies only a small portion of the volume inside the bag.

quickly and too much and the bag popped and released all the gas through the top. Our third and

second and inflated to just the right amount where the bag was not too hard and not too soft.
Experimental Error: There are several errors that could have taken place in this lab. The first
error could have been excess air being inside the bag before the experiment starts. Another error
could have been, left over water from previous trials preformed in the lab. The third possible error
could be, baking soda leaking out of the egg into the hydrochloric acid causing a premature reaction.

The Communication Structure Of A Geographically...
The purpose of the research article (article) is to explore three specific topics regarding the
communication structure of a geographically distributed software development team: the
observable behavior of the organization in reference to Conway s law, difficulties encountered by
geographically distributed teams, and potential solutions for these difficulties. Conway s law
suggests that the resulting product of an organization will take on characteristics of the
organization s communicationsystems. This would suggest that a large geographically segregated
team, which faces communication barriers as a result, would produce a product reflective of the
barriers.
The article states that geographically distributed teams will face difficulty in the exchange of
information. Teams must use a common language, with agreed upon attributes. These types of
teams develop software systems individually, which must then work together. This would require
great coordination through effective communication. The article makes the point that Conway s
law dictates that teams coordinate their efforts, while Frederick Brooks suggests that this is not so
easy to achieve. Advancement in communication technologies has helped to tackle some of the
communication barriers that distributed teams face. The article justifies the study by stating that
existing research is not clear on the benefits of applying Conway s law to this specific situation.
In order to address this knowledge gap, a study was

Men and Women in Nontraditional Sports as Portrayed in Film Women and men play various
sports because they as Americans want to experience the excitement of playing for fun, and doing
something they love. The idea of what men and women can do for fun in sports has been shaped
by the American society in many different ways through the media, schooling and education, and
professional sports organizations. America portrays women playing field hockey and doing
synchronized swimming while men do boxing, and body building. If a woman chooses to do

they face many cultural costs and benefits of choosing this sport. Society does not like change and...

The judges were forced to make an ambiguous line between what the difference was between a
man and a woman. The costs of this sport may be unfair judging of the bodybuilders because the
judges are still divided on what makes a woman s feminine form better. The bodybuilders had to
deal with assumptions of the public that accuse them of unnatural or homosexual. A main
character, Bev Francis had to frequently insist that she was a woman not a man, and she was
faced with the questioning of her sexuality. Bev s muscles, dress, heavy facial features, and
unfeminine body language evoke the stereotype of what a lesbian looks like: the butch, the
lesbian who is immediately recognizable as such, visibly different. Bev had a strong belief that
she looked like a woman and that she was beautiful and strong. A risk she faced was being hurt
by the public s comments about her body and sexuality. The social and cultural costs of being a
male playing non traditional sports does not seem as severe as it does because men are not
driven away from sports. Women are constantly being driven away from any sport from the fear
of being labeled as unfeminine or lesbian. Men who want to play non traditional sports will
probably be more likely to be stereotyped as gay, or feminine. But if a man plays a traditional male
sport, he will not be subjected to unwanted assumptions or sexual advances. Men do not benefit

Through their lifelong research into the German language they created their own Dictionary called,

they created from the stories that the villagers and peasants told them. Originally, these stories
were written for adult readers and considered inappropriate for children. Many of their stories

A Report On The Solar Farm
Executive Summary
A 20GWh per year solar farm has been designed in this assignment. It is located at Yuma city of
Arizona in the United Sates. Yuma city has 313 days of sunshine and it is very good for solar
electricity generation. The solar farm will be installed at a desert region. There are two reasons, 1.
Reducing the environment impact. 2. Lower cost of land acquisition.
The tilt angle of solar panel strongly affects the electricity generation. To finding the annual
maximum power output, three different angles have been calculated. 32.6В° is the best angle for
solar electricity generation in Yuma city. Setting at 32.6В°, the solar farm can generate
23,983,400kWh per year from 56,000 solar modules. Furthermore, the solar farm footprint ... Show

According to National Climatic Data Center, the sunniest state is Arizona in the United Sates,
which is 193 clear days pre year.(1) Yuma City where in State of Arizona has 313 days of
sunshine. This climatic condition is good for solar power generation. In order to reduce the
environment impact, a desert region is a proper choice. There are two more benefits. The cost of
land is much cheaper than urban area. In addition, there is no any shelter nearby. Nevertheless,
solar farms have to be maintained regularly. If install a solar farm at an isolated location, it will
be hard to maintenance. A location of photovoltaic farm has been chosen as Figure 2. It is situated
in a desert region for decreasing the environment impact and next to a road for maintenance easily.

Advertisements that keep appearing on apps are called adware. They can be annoying because
they keep popping up and can use up your iPad s memory. These types of advertisement can be
use to spy on iPad user s internet activities. If anti spyware software found a program on your
mobile device, it would tell the user to remove the spyware from his or her device using the

This software makes it harder for hackers to gain control of your mobile device. For example,

What Is Hamlet s Perception Of Human Nature
Why does human nature have a tendency to grasp onto information which contains no justified
data? William Shakespeare expands on this question, expressing the manners of human nature on
believing in untrustworthy sources, throughout his play Hamlet. In the play Hamlet, Shakespeare
exposes an individual s mindset through Hamlets perception of human nature analyzed by
psychology.
Shakespeare illustrates behavioural reasoning in which people believe information without proper
justification through Hamlet s perception in the play. An individual s behaviour is believed to
mirror their mental state of mind; Shakespeare displays this reasoning through his play, Hamlet.

nonviolent protests, the Supreme Court decision, Parks and Dr. King s influences. During the
early 1950s, blacks started questioning the segregated school systems. Thurgood Marshall fought
a case with the support of an organization called National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People or NAACP. Marshall was a lawyer, who fought against the segregation in law
schools as well as other graduate programs. Later, the graduate schools are desegregated. Another
case known as Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka questioned the separate but equal doctrine; it
addressed the issues children face due to segregation in schools. The Supreme Court said that racial
segregation in schools violates the constitution. However, this decision... Show more content on

chaos in the black community. To deal with the issue, African Americans decided to boycott the

The Hobbit Reflection
The novel I read this semester was The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien which was first published on
September 21, 1937. I had a positive feeling when reading the book because even though the
book has many bad events the characters have to overcome many difficult situations such as
almost being eaten by trolls and being cornered by wargs. Although the book started off slow
and it took a bit of time to adapt to the style of writing the content was full of suspense and
outcomes that I did not expect. This made the book fun to read and by far the best book I have
ever read. It was very interesting to watch Bilbo s character develop throughout the novel and see
how events and adventures impact him. The Hobbitis set in middle earth, years 2941 to 2942 of the
Third Age before the events of The Lord of the Rings. Bilbo is a young hobbit who is a respected
resident in the town of Hobbiton because his last name Baggins. Baggins is a very respectable
name because the Baggins never went on adventures and they were quite wealthy. Bilbo was
approached by Gandalf to go on an adventure and he refused but after their conversation Gandalf
puts a symbol on his door and then all of the dwarves come to his house for a party. The dwarves
ask Bildo if he wants to be a burglar and he refuses again but in the morning he changes his mind
and agrees to take on the role of burglar while on the adventure. Thorin is a dwarf who lived in the
town of Dale until he was 24 years old. His last name

Epicurus s Philosophy Of Happiness
This short episode is about the philosopher Epicurus, who was born on the year 341 years BC, in
the island of Samos, and his philosophy of happiness. It begins with some of Epicurus thoughts:
that we can all be happy, but we look in the wrong places, and that we don t need to feel guilty
about wanting to have a pleasurable life. Botton starts with the idea that most people have of
happiness, which is that of having money in order to buy whatever they want. Through the episode
he will counter this idea with Epicurean philosophy.
Epicurus had a lot of pleasures (sex, laughter, beauty), but happiness is more tricky than that. He
thought pleasure is the most important thing in life, but he was not luxurious. He lived in a simple
house, wore basic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His thought was that you your friends should be lifelong companions. And that you should never
eat alone and when you eat, you should rather watch with whom you eat, than what you eat.
Freedom He and his friends left Athens. To be free one has to be financially independent,
economically self sufficient, not having to answer to a boss. They lived a simple life, not caring
about having as much as other, and thus they were free from what others thought.
Analyzed life Time off from the noise of the commercial world, to reflect about our worries. Our
anxieties would be lessened if we gave ourselves the time to think them through. We need a space to
quietly think about our lives.
Botton continues by showing how if you are denied money and have 3 goods: friends, analyzed
life, self sufficient, you can still be happy, whereas if you had the money and lacked these three
things, then you wouldn t. He asks, if happiness is so simple, why aren t more of us actually
happy? Epicurus blamed this on advertisement. We shop too much because we are confused about
what we need and advertisement associates products with what we do

Jaws is a 1975 American horror thriller film, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on a best

chief Martin Brody of Amity Island, a fictional summer resort town; Brody just like other police
chief s tries to protect his people and tourists from a giant white shark by closing the beach
although he is overruled by the town council who want the beach to remain open, so that the town

The camera technique used is a Medium Long Shot; this allows the audience to see the attack and
the surroundings in more detail.
The director builds up fear for the shark by making the music seem sly and dangerous. The
director also makes the music seem like the kind of music you would expect from a murder film.
He also builds tension by showing all the attacks in detail and comes quite at a distance so you
can see just what actually happens to the victims as if you were watching from the beach.
However during the film the shark is described as 25 feet long and weighing 3 tons, several time,
this is in a way of giving the audience clues and it even creates a picture in the audiences heads of
what its finally going to look like. In the film other sharks are also mentioned as well as the great
White Shark, although they both almost paint the same image in the audience s head as they both
show you different ways physical and emotional damages that the shark can cause. The Physical
techniques used are usually to scare the audience in a sodden movement. And the Emotional
technique is used to scare the audience very slowly by getting the message across

Comparing Gilgamesh And The Characteristics Of A Sumer King
This epic illustrates the characteristics and duties of a Sumer king. As king of Sumer, Gilgamesh
was chosen by gods to conquer, defend, and rule over the people. The kings cared about their
name and legacy as shown when Gilgamesh joined with Enkidu to fight Humbaba If I should
fall, my name will be secure. It was Gilgamesh who fought against Huwawa! It is Gilgamesh who
will venture into the forest and cut down the Cedar down and win the glory. My fame will be

The 1944 Education Act and its ramifications to date
The purpose of this essay is to identify the features of the 1944 Education Act and its
ramifications. The state of education prior to the 1944 Act will be mentioned and how it
mirrored society as a whole. A critical appraisal of justifications for selection and
comprehensivisation, as a successor to the tripartite system, will be addressed. This paper will
also provide an explanation of the selection process and the arguments and problems that relate to

Few technical schools were established and the secondary modern became the cinderellas of the

This extract shows that new system didn t manage to reduce the social division it merely replaced
it with a newer form of social division.
The nature/nurture debate is neither unique nor particular to the 1944 Act, but it is something to be
addressed. Nature, suggesting your intelligence is inherited from your parents and nurture, the
belief that learning is affected by the home and the school environment. Relating the debate to the
1944 Act, brings to our attention the difference in education between social classes. The upper and
middle class children would have definitely had advantage over the working class children, in
terms of cognitive development, as their parents would have been well educated and able to pass
on far greater knowledge. They also would have had better living conditions and quieter homes to
concentrate on homework. The working class tended to have many children, shared bedrooms
would have been common, which was not the ideal learning environment.
The philanthropic aspects of the act were very much linked to the Second World War. The
generally poor fitness standards of the working class recruits highlighted to the government that
changes needed to be made. Free milk in schools, regular

The Vietnam War Film Genre
The Vietnam film is a specific sub genre of the conventional Hollywood war film that arose as a
result of the 1960s counter culture. According to Elliot Stegall s article Ideological, Dystopic, and
Antimythopoetic Formations of Masculinity in the Vietnam War Film many American war films
depicted the glorification of war and emphasized the concept of American masculinity (Stegall).
Previous to the Vietnam period, Hollywood war films stuck to contemporary tropes. These films
often re enact the idea of good versus evil in which the male hero of the film triumphantly fights for
their country against a vilified enemy; thus reinforcing the American ideology of conquering the
frontier (Schweitzer 67). The hollywood war films are often enjoyable... Show more content on

In Rich Schweitzer s article Born to Kill: S. Kubrick s Full Metal Jacket as Historical
Representation of America s Experience in Vietnam , he comments on the military s concern
with: how to inculcate civilians reared in a western tradition, which emphasized the sanctity of
life, with a willingness to kill (Schweitzer 64). Schweitzer s observation is most prominently
debated in the beginning of the film. Split into three segments, the film illustrates the phases of
re birth, life, and death. The opening sequence depicts re birth through the physical stripping of
the individual identity. As the hair of the recruits is shaved off while the men wear the same dull
blue capes, their faces begin to blur together into one unified identity. This is then furthered
when the recruits are forced to say an oath to their rifles during the beginning of their military
training on Parris Island. The scene is shot from one point perspective and displaying prominent
symmetry in the composition. The room is stark and clinical. The recruits are all dressed in white
which is a colour often associated with innocence. The men lay on their bunks in a head to toe
formation which parallels with the scene of the mass Vietnamese grave in which the bodies are
laid in the same manner and covered in white Lime powder. However, the putrid green colour is
reminiscent of death or rather the process of dying which is contrasted by the violent red of the floor.

steamed ahead ceremoniously since its inception in 1853. It has completed a glorious 162 years,
enjoyed the best and worst times during its long history starting with the British Colonoial Raj to
the present. Through history, the railways have been deemed a calamity and a boon . Romesh
Chandra Dutta, critic of the British Raj in Indian, described the railways as wasteful expenditure
and a hazardous and dangerous venture . Karl Marx wrote: I known that the English sultocracy
intends to endow India with the railways with the exclusive view of extracting at diminished
expense the cotton and other raw materials for their manufacturers. However, the railways were
also regarded as a preventive measure against famines and the only affordable means of transport

Principal Agent Relationship Essay
Within a federal republic, such as the United States, we tend to rely on representatives to represent
us as a nation rather than us representing the nation. This is due to people s capacity of knowledge
as not everyone can be the best of themselves in every area. Eventually, leading to representatives,
who have the knowledge in politics and government, in representing the people of every state. This
type of situation is when the people, who are the principals, gives authority to the representative,
who are the agents, to represent them. By definition, the principals are those who possess authority
and agents are individuals who execute the authority on behalf of the principals (Kernell 29).
Although this is common, not many individuals are aware that they are entering a principal and

Though it is not necessary for it to just involve politics, it can relate to legal matters, personal
matters, or work related relationships. One example of a principal and agent relationship is a
lawyer and its client. In this relationship, the principal is the client and the agent is the lawyer.
This is a principal and agent relationship because the client is delegating its authority to the
lawyer. The lawyer ends up being the agent who has received authority from the principal to
handle the issue that the principal is requesting. The client gives authority to the lawyer because
the client does not have the necessary knowledge to handle a matter that requires additional
knowledge. The lawyer will be the representative of the client who has no background in legal
cases. It will allow the client a higher chance of winning the case or having a better perspective on
the matters that they are concerned about. Since the relationship involves a lawyer and client, this

Starfire Trucking Company. To better understand the line items and company cost structure, it
would be helpful to begin with a general description of the trucking industry and its common
practices. (Also see Industry Terms for brief definitions of common terms.)
Revenue Sources
Trucking firms generate a variety of revenue types from hauling goods for their clients. The
primary source is typically line haul revenue, which is the revenue earned from hauling freight.
Another source is fuel surcharge (FSC) revenue. Trucking companies are exposed to fuel price
volatility when they sign a long term contract with a customer. With the pointed volatility of fuel
prices in recent years, trucking companies include the FSC, which is an additional fee that s
triggered when fuel costs exceed predetermined levels. Thus, the primary purpose of the FSC is to
protect the truck line from fuel price increases during the contract term.
A trucking line will likely have other,

Middle-Range Theory
Theory Scope Categorizing the Theory Scope, the first step of theory analysis, involves describing
the abstractness of their theory concepts and propositions. While the scope of the grand theory is
nonspecific, the scope of the middle range theory is more specific and limited. A middle range
theory, additionally, can be classified in terms of descriptive, explanatory, or predictive. Leventhal
et al. did not identify the type of their theory. However, the words and sentences that they
mentioned in the CSM can categorize as a middle range theory. The CSM was proposed to
provide the framework for depicting the self regulation when individuals have to encounter stress
caused by an illness and understanding the processes involved in problem coping. Leventhal et
al. described that the CSM consists of three core concepts: representation of illness, coping, and
coping appraisal. The relationship between the concepts was presented in the parallel processing
system that interact as the individual adapts to each specific situation. These processes lead
individuals to seek health care for acute illnesses and manage their illness for chronic conditions.
Additionally, the CSM was used as a theoretical framework in research and applied in practice,
particularly psychological, behavioral, and nursing fields. The results of study can make possible
intervention which would help patients develop valid coping processes. Consequently, The CSM
can be classified as a middle range predictive theory.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing Kubrick s Film And Burgess Essay
A difference and slight similarity between Kubrick s Film and Burgess novella is the narration.
In both, Alex is the narrator and uses Nadsat vocabulary to describe his acts of violence, however,
the film narrative is perceived as less powerful as the novella. In the book, Alex s narration
accentuates his cruelty, pleasure, and lack of remorse. His pleasure is highlighted in the book
displaying his dark thoughts, making the novella A Clockwork Orangeappear to be a more
grotesque piece in language than the film. This is evident in an act of violence, the raping of two
ten year old girls. In the film, Alexhas what appears to be consensual sex with two women around or
a few youngers than himself, that the met in a record store. In the novel, he meets two ten year old
girls instead and purchases them some food in addition. He then convinces them to come with him
where they become intoxicated and he rapes them. Alex in the novella narrates the aftermath,
They looked like they had been in some big bitva, as indeed they had, and were all bruised and
pouty. Well, if they would not go to school they would still have their education. And education
they had had. They were creeching and going ow ow ow as they put their platties on, and they
were like punchipunching me with their teeny fists as I lay there dirty and nagoy and fair shagged
and fagged on the bed. (36)

The Story Of The Movie The Great Gatsby And Snow...
Heroes are found everywhere when Disney is involved. From a prince or princess to secretive
toys to the smallest forms of life on earth, a hero can be found in anyone. Being attached to one
or a few is entirely common. These certain characters may be the ones they look up to. Young
girls often choose to look up to a princess, although, they are not what they were over 50 years
ago. The very first Disney princess, Snow White, is purely a damsel in distress. The same goes
for Aurora who appeared in Sleeping Beauty years later. As the years have gone on, that weaker
vision of a princess has faded. The modern day princesses are anything but damsels needing to be
saved by a man. Rapunzel chooses to give up her freedom in order to save Flynn Rider s life.
Tiana works hard to provide for herself so she can chase her dream. Merida rejects what
everyone else thinks she should be and is true to herself. Elsa only needs the love from her
sister. This list will only get bigger as Disney continues to create these young female heroines. If
anything, Disney is preaching to young girls everywhere to be strong in a world that may play on
their faults or weaknesses. During a time strong feminist movements, Disney manages to satisfy
demands by allowing the girl to be the hero. Though Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are still
timeless classics, the princesses of today set a better example for young girls everywhere and that
is why they seem to be more attractive than the originals. Disney has a

Dr. Daphane explained that Erick went to the agronomy books since he was a smart man as he

is what he did. Dr. Daphane compares this technique like a routine blood test, but for the soil. In
this test, he had to send off testing tubes containing soil, to an agronomy lab to get reports as a
person would get for his blood from the medical lab. The results he got from the agronomy lab
contained information from his soil. For example, if the soil needed more minerals or if it had
too much of a mineral, as well as how much minerals he needed to replace. After sometime later,

of data that is emerging from their customer world and worried about how to store that amount of
data, during that time old business instruments took a large amount of time to execute the
business instead of running it and it is also costly, time consuming and risky to deals with that
much big amount of data (Inmon, 2005). The concept of data warehousing dates back to the late
1980s when IBM researchers Barry Devlin and Paul Murphy introduced the term Business data
warehouse . In 1986, Red Brick Systems founded by Ralph Kimball began to do research on
improving data access (Hammergren, 2005). In 1990s executives become less concerned with the
day to day business operations and overall concerned with overall business functions and worried
about large amount of data. Due to the improvements and magnification in the information systems
where large amount of data needs to be saved and retrieved, data warehousing was additionally
enhanced and advanced to cope up with such immensely large amounts of data (Kelly, 2009).
Trends in data warehousing
To have a better results, the enterprise should be able to analyze its data quickly as it access it.
Enterprises should understand how customers interact with the business. According to Ponniah

Essay on A Portrait of Duke Ellington by Tracy Frech
A Portrait of Duke Ellington By Tracy Frech
Duke Ellington is considered to be one of the greatest figures in the history of
American music. Edward Kennedy Duke Ellington was born in Washington D.C. on
April 29, 1899. His parents were James Edward and Daisy Kennedy Ellington. They raised Duke
as an only child, until his sister, Ruth, was born when Duke was sixteen years old. Duke, even as
a teenager, had a great talent for music. In the beginning of his musical life, Duke began to take a
promising interest in a new type of music that would later be called jazz. Choosing to base his
career on a new idea may not have been smart, but Duke did take this chance and in turn became
one of the most famous musicians in America.

In the Autumn of 1927, luck had crossed paths with Duke again. The manager of Duke s band,
Irving Mills, had heard that the prestigious cotton club was looking for a new band and
immediately Irving began campaigning for Duke. Duke and his band opened on December 4,
1927 to meet a mad rush of spectators who eagerly awaited to hear Dukes newest pieces. Duke s
band became very prosperous and they had their own spot on the Cotton Club floor with special
lighting and accommodations. At the year of 1928 the band consisted of Bubber Miley, Freddy
Jenkins, and Arthur
Whetsol on trumpet, joined with Tricky Sam Nanton, and Juan Tizol on trombone.
Johnny Hodges, now on alto sax, with Barney Bigard doubled on tenor sax and clarinet, and finally
Harry Carney at seventeen years old joined on bari sax.
Carney was known as one of the first people in a band ever to use the bari sax as a solo
instrument. While Duke s band was performing at the Cotton Club, his band participated in more
than sixty four recording sessions.
In 1931 Duke grew so tired of the show business routines that he decided to try his luck again on
his own. When he arrived in New York his band grew to almost three times what it originally had
been at the Cotton Club.
Duke feared that this would become a very serious problem considering how the stock market
crashed in late 1929 and millions of people across the United States were out of work. Somehow,
though,

Ho How The Other Half Lives Summary
Riis, Jacob How the Other Half Lives New York: Charles Scribner s Sons, 1890. In 1890, Jacob
Riis, a Danish immigrant worked as a police reporter and photographic journalist in New York
City. How the Other Half Lives, prompted legislative reforms, focused attention on the desperate
lives of poor urban immigrants and left an enduring mark on the history of documentary
photography. (NY TIMES). During this time, America was going through social and economic
stress due to rapid industrialization. It was a time full of greed and neglect from the wealthier
class leaving the middle and poor class helpless and suffering day to day. Jacob Riis used his
photography to document real lives that were being affected by this crisis and presented these
photos to the public to open their eyes to what was going on. The economy, society, and
government started to be controlled by large corporations who were owned by immigrants filled
with greed and materialism. With this industrialization, Riis documented the over worked lower
class who were given low wages and placed in overpriced slums. The real world did not notice the

How Customer Service Has Grown And Changed Over The Years
This paper explores three published articles that report on subjects having to do with customer
support. Be the relationships online (Internet) and offline (non Internet) and how they relate to
customer service and the help desk environments. The articles have little variance in how they treat
and face the subject matter as this is more about the history and thus not a very subjective topic.
This paper examines these three works in relation to each other and to show how customer service
has grown and changed over the years, from face to face interactions to computer mediated
communication.
Keywords: customer service, help desk
The modern help desk is something most every consumer of technology will experience now
days, be it through toll free numbers, websites, instant messaging or e mail. However this is just
what a help desk has evolved into in the modern day. The need for good customer relations has
been around since the client customer model came into use. Known as customer support , it has
changed dramatically over the past 100 years.
The term help desk originally meant the place where employees would get technical support
relating to their company s information technologies infrastructure, recently the scope of this term
has expanded in its meaning and use. For instance in some educational settings the term could refer
to help provided in the reference library. Before the turn of the century customer and client
interaction relied on a

Ossification
The Joy of Ossification Ossification and osteogenesis are synonyms meaning the process of bone
formation. In embryos this process leads to the formation of the bony skeleton. As a person
grows, another form of ossification known as bone growth goes on until early adulthood as the
body continues to increase in size. Bones are capable of growing in thickness throughout life.
Intramembranous ossification takes place within the womb and is the process by which flat bones
such as some of the bones of the skull and the collarbones are created from connective tissue. It
also is the process for injured bones to heal and occurs when bones are broken or damaged in order
to reconstruct the bone. Another process occurring during... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This process is more complex than intramembranous ossification because the hyaline cartilage must
be broken down as bone formation proceeds. There are four main stages of endochondral
ossification. First, perichondrium that is covering the hyaline cartilage bone is infiltrated with
blood vessels and becomes vascularized periosteum. As a result of this change in nutrition, the
underlying mesenchymal cells differentiate into osteoblasts, and the stage for ossification is set to
begin. Bone collar forms around the hyaline cartilage, and osteoblasts of the new periosteum secrete
osteoid against the cartilage diaphysis, encasing into a new layer of bone called the periosteal bone
collar. In the second step of endochondral ossification, the bone collar forms, and chondrocytes
within the shaft enlarge. Nutrients can no longer diffuse once the matrix becomes sufficiently
calcified and the chondrocytes subsequently die. This creates cavities within the bone. Elsewhere,
the cartilage remains healthy and continues to grow briskly, causing the model to elongate. During
the third stage which is in month 3, the forming cavities are invaded by a collection of elements
called the periostial bud, which contains a nutrient artery and vein, lymphatic vessels, nerve fibers,
red marrow elements, osteoblasts, and osteocytes. While the entering osteoclasts

Salmon Safe Products
Is buying Salmon Safe products, helping the salmon habitats? There are so many options for an
environmentally conscious consumer these days looking to buy groceries, with the multitude of
different eco labels popping up each time you visit the grocery store, it s becoming more difficult to
know which products are the right ones to buy. SalmonSafe products line our shelves from wine
bottles to produce and are status given to places like the Nike campus and golf courses. Is this just
another label to get us environmental minded consumers to buy their products or is Salmon Safe
actually effectively helping to restore the Pacific Northwest (PNW) salmonid species? Salmon safe

management, water use, erosion prevention, sediment control, chemical and pesticide reduction,
water quality protection, and enhancement of urban ecological function are the criteria that The
Seattle Children s Hospital must meet in order to be considered labeled Salmon Safe. From an
article written by Salmon Safes Dan Kent The Salmon Safe certification required the hospital to
also develop a more comprehensive campus wide stormwater management plan, improve its
documentation of landscape management practices and continue its pursuit of irrigation water use
reduction and other conservation strategies. Since both salmon safe and Washington State

We Wear The Mask Literary Devices
Since the major part of the poem s recitation process has reached its finish line, I am relaxed,
satisfied, and able to reflect on it adequately. I regard to the whole process as a fascinating, valuable
and challenging adventure.
Approximately two months ago, I began looking for a poem, which was a serious work since I
pursued a powerful verse that was appropriate to my present state. Moreover, the poem s selection
procedure involved studying historical and cultural aspects, for the reason that I was grown under a
different circumstance and shared another background. I acknowledge the challenge of reading
poetry in a foreign language due to an effort to realize the main message of the poem immediately
and recognize the literary devices directly. Conversely, reading poetry in a native language seems
natural and habituated inasmuch the sounds, music, vocabulary, phraseology, images and events
are accustomed and familiar. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the fruits of my labor because the poem was
chosen and the more I read it, the more I became aware, inquisitive and fascinated by it.
The poem s memorizing was followed by its choice and represented ... Show more content on

I wanted to convey my own perusal of the poem, which altered throughout the practice for the
reason that every time I discovered new features of the verse. I admit that a deeper reading of
the poem We Wear the Mask and studying the poet s background forced me to look at the
problem of African Americans from the other perspective. Similarly to the white world , I ignored
the thought of their suffering and pain since in the movies that I watched or on photographs that I
saw, African Americans appear smiling. I did not know that they pretend to be happy in order to
survive. Moreover, I thought that the racism exists overseas. The avoiding of noticing of oppressed
people is identified with wearing the mask of indifference and

Felix Mendelssohn Essay
Felix Mendelssohn is a well known German composer, pianist and organist of the early
Romantic Era. At a very young age, Felix Mendelssohn quickly established himself as a musical
prodigy and is now studied by people across the world. What many do not know is that Felix had
an older sister who was also a musical prodigy; however, unfortunately, she does not get the same
credit as her older brother. Due to the gender politics of this time, women who performed after the
age of one who should be married were looked at negatively in society. Women were meant to
serve their husbands and take care of the children, not to compose or perform at musical venues.
Pieces from both Songs without Words composed by Felix Mendelssohnand Das Jahr composed by
Fanny Mendelssohn have so many similarities. When taking a closer look at Felix s compositional
work, it is sometimes indistinguishable to the works of Fanny. Felix and Fanny were only four
years apart, influencing them to be rather close to one another. In the early stages... Show more

This piece sounds extremely similar to the piece analyzed from Songs Without Words.
September known as At the River by Fanny, is a piece full of timbre and written for a solo
pianist. When listening, you can really picture a river flowing in the month of September. At this
time of year, it is usually beginning to get colder, making the current a bit rougher. The wind is
flowing for some time but then quiets down. The rhythmic motion of this piece represents the
season changing from summer to fall. Nothing is certain in September, it is always shifting or
changing, just as this composition. Halfway through the composition, it shifts from a major key
to a minor key. The melody of this piece is both legato and staccato, consisting of many
progressions and trills. There is a very large range of keys, just as Felix s

  • 2. Weapons Of Mass Destruction Essay In the text weapons of mass destruction refers to materials, weapons, or devices that are intended to cause death or serious bodily injury to a significant number of people (page 711, para. 3,4). In 1939, Albert Einstein s Letter to President Roosevelt mentioned that the work of scientists E. Fermi and L. Szilard led him to expect that uranium may be turned into a source of energy in the immediate future (Page 1, para. 1). Einstein knew how powerful uranium was and how a very large amount of it could set up a nuclear chain reaction. He knew that if in case this did happen he wanted the president to be well prepared for the outcome. Einstein argued that weapons of mass destruction required a lot of attention and if they are going to be initiated then the following steps should be followed: a person who is confident and trustworthy should keep the government updated with further development and put forward recommendations for government action, particularly the secure supply of uranium (Page 2, para. 6). Secondly, this person should also speed up work by making sure funds are provided and also that they have the necessary equipment needed for completion (page 2, para. 7) In the Draft of Press Release Announcing the Use of the Atomic Bomb in 1945, Stimson argued that he believed dropping the bomb would force japan to surrender on terms acceptable to the United States. He quotes It was to spare the Japanese people from utter destruction that the ultimatum of July 26 was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Self Analysis Of Mirror By Sylvia Plath Introduction The lyric poem Mirror was written in 1961 by the late Sylvia Plath. This poem was not published until 1971; ten years after it was written. Mirror was written two years before Plath separated from her husband and shortly after committing suicide. Mirror speaks freely about women and their obsession with appearance and aging. In a way Plath used Mirror, in order to portray what she herself had been dealing with, in a time where she felt the most vulnerable and insecure as she was getting older. This was a self reflectionpoem from the voice of a third party; which in this case would be the mirror itself. The Mirror was the main character that would see many faces, after reading this poem it would seem as if Plath was using the mirror to criticize women in general for feeling the way they do about their appearance, when in fact the second stanza focuses on one particular woman, which is believed to be Plath criticizing herself for the way she felt about her appearance and aging. The theme of women and their obsession with appearance and aging is portrayed through the use of various literary devices and no specific rhyme scheme, however, metaphors, symbolism, and imagery are prominent throughout the entire poem. Rooted in the 1920s, it was similar to the verismo ( realism ) movement, from which it originated, but differed in that its upsurge resulted from the intense feelings inspired by fascist repression, the Resistance, and the war. Italian aesthetic movement that flourished especially after World War II. A year later PaisГ (Italy 1946) took the process of nation building further by not only attempting to unite different regional communities together in its six different episodes but also explicitly bringing spaces together in the map of the Italian peninsula which gradually becomes uniformly white as the forces of liberation are shown moving upwards along the Italian boot. It s significant, suggests Restivo in an aside, that Rossellini doesn t end up showing the Italian boot completely whitened by the movement of liberation but rather allows a stain to remain in the northeastern sector, approximately at the place of SalГІ (Italy/France, 1975). Nevertheless, as is well known, Neorealism itself failed and, in a sense, was destined to fail. On the one hand its commitment to an aesthetics of reality was self defeating since Italy s millenarian regionalism worked against the construction of anything but the most fictionalised national unity. On the other hand the radical political openness that had existed briefly after the war which had allowed Neorealism to project an Italy fashioned along the lines of Partisan dreams, was greatly reduced by the 1948 elections and reduced further as the Christian Democrat party consolidated its power in the early 1950s. Neorealism thus disappeared and left the representation of the fragmented real Italy, in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Socrates and Virtue At the beginning of Meno Socrates and Meno are discussing what they think the true definition of virtue is. They debate over this matter for quite some time and Meno continues to throw definitions, of what he thinks virtue is, at Socrates. It seems like every time Meno would come up with what he thought virtuewas Socrateswould shoot it down. Socrates would not come out and say this is not right, he would merely ask him a series of questions in order for Meno to realize it on his own. One after another Socrates continues to find problems with Meno s reasoning behind his definitions. After the fourth attempt they finally decide they would try to start over with a clean slate in order to find out what virtue truly is. At this point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Socrates says that all activities done by humans depends on the soul itself, and if you are going to do some beneficial then it involves wisdom to a certain extent. So if in order to do something beneficial you need wisdom and they defined virtue as being something beneficial, therefore making the valid point that virtue is wisdom, for the most part ( Sections 87e В– 89b). Virtue is what you make of it. Yes, to some extent, I agree with Socrates with virtue as wisdom, but that is about as far as you can go with it. Really it is what you are willing to make of it in your own life. There are good types of virtues and then there are harmful types of virtue. Now you cannot really say that there are beneficial types of virtue and bad types of virtue. The reason behind this is because, to some people, virtue can be beneficial in a bad way instead of the beneficial that most people first think of. It varies from person to person. There is really no way of putting one basic definition on virtue. Virtue encompasses so many different things, it would be nearly impossible for us to slap a definition on it without finding a glitch or something wrong with the definition. There will always be someone there to find a problem with it, because is that not the way our society works? They must understand that if they put in a guilty plea, they are agreeing with the fact that they did the crime. Depending on how gruesome the crime is that was committed the attorney and judge can send the defendant out for a psych evaluation. Once at the psych evaluation the psychologist will ask the accused a series of questions. The doctor will look at the accused past and current situation to help understand more about the patient. The psychiatrist will help the court understand if a person is fit to stand trial. Everyone wants to know if the accused is capable of making decisions on his behalf. Every person being accused is considered competent unless it can be proven otherwise. Until that is proven, the case will be treated as a normal case. However, there was one key difference in South Africa, the black South Africans were being controlled by a white South African minority. In America, non colored citizens didn t have to do much to segregate life, but in South Africa, the white South Africans needed to feel like they were in control. After the National party was elected in 1948, the government (white south Africans) started to heavily segregate South Africa. • 9. Analysis Of Proposition Of Rational Expectations,... CHAPTER ELEVEN STUDY WITH INVARIANCE PROPOSITION OF RATIONAL EXPECTATIONS 11.1 Introduction The concept of Invariance Proposition of Rational Expectations, developed by Lucas, Sargent and Wallace in early seventies, presents the idea that the anticipated part of money supply affects price level. Since the present work is devoted to study the relationship between money supply and price level, the Invariance Proposition theory of rational expectation can be applied to examine the relationship between anticipated money supply and price level. In order to apply Invariance Proposition theory in examining the impact of anticipated money supply on price level, we need to estimate the anticipated money supply. There are several procedures to estimate the anticipated money supply; the present study has applied ARIMA structures of narrow and broad money supply for the estimation of anticipated money supply. After identifying anticipated money supply, a regression equation has been performed taking price level as dependent variable and anticipated money supply as explanatory variable. 11.2 ARIMA Model for M1 Money Supply In order to quantify anticipated money supply, the ARIMA model has been applied. For this purpose equation (11.1) has been employed for ARIMA structure for M1 money supply, on the basis of which the anticipated M1 money supplies has been quantified. • 11. The Communication Structure Of A Geographically... The purpose of the research article (article) is to explore three specific topics regarding the communication structure of a geographically distributed software development team: the observable behavior of the organization in reference to Conway s law, difficulties encountered by geographically distributed teams, and potential solutions for these difficulties. Conway s law suggests that the resulting product of an organization will take on characteristics of the organization s communicationsystems. This would suggest that a large geographically segregated team, which faces communication barriers as a result, would produce a product reflective of the barriers. The article states that geographically distributed teams will face difficulty in the exchange of information. Teams must use a common language, with agreed upon attributes. These types of teams develop software systems individually, which must then work together. This would require great coordination through effective communication. The article makes the point that Conway s law dictates that teams coordinate their efforts, while Frederick Brooks suggests that this is not so easy to achieve. Advancement in communication technologies has helped to tackle some of the communication barriers that distributed teams face. The article justifies the study by stating that existing research is not clear on the benefits of applying Conway s law to this specific situation. In order to address this knowledge gap, a study was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Men and Women in Nontraditional Sports as Portrayed in Film Women and men play various sports because they as Americans want to experience the excitement of playing for fun, and doing something they love. The idea of what men and women can do for fun in sports has been shaped by the American society in many different ways through the media, schooling and education, and professional sports organizations. America portrays women playing field hockey and doing synchronized swimming while men do boxing, and body building. The costs of this sport may be unfair judging of the bodybuilders because the judges are still divided on what makes a woman s feminine form better. The bodybuilders had to deal with assumptions of the public that accuse them of unnatural or homosexual. A main character, Bev Francis had to frequently insist that she was a woman not a man, and she was faced with the questioning of her sexuality. Bev s muscles, dress, heavy facial features, and unfeminine body language evoke the stereotype of what a lesbian looks like: the butch, the lesbian who is immediately recognizable as such, visibly different. Bev had a strong belief that she looked like a woman and that she was beautiful and strong. A risk she faced was being hurt by the public s comments about her body and sexuality. The social and cultural costs of being a male playing non traditional sports does not seem as severe as it does because men are not driven away from sports. Women are constantly being driven away from any sport from the fear of being labeled as unfeminine or lesbian. Men who want to play non traditional sports will probably be more likely to be stereotyped as gay, or feminine. But if a man plays a traditional male sport, he will not be subjected to unwanted assumptions or sexual advances. Men do not benefit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These authors are famous for their work in the history and structure of the German language and its relationship to other languages as well as, German folklore, tales and literature. Through their lifelong research into the German language they created their own Dictionary called, Grimm Law. The Brothers also, published more than two hundred and ten German folk tales that they created from the stories that the villagers and peasants told them. Originally, these stories were written for adult readers and considered inappropriate for children. Many of their stories have been adapted by companies like Disney that want to turn them into appropriate children stories or movies. Philipp and Dorothea Grimm had nine children, all of which, did not survive to adulthood. Jacob, was the oldest surviving of the Grimm siblings. While the scope of the grand theory is nonspecific, the scope of the middle range theory is more specific and limited. A middle range theory, additionally, can be classified in terms of descriptive, explanatory, or predictive. Leventhal et al. did not identify the type of their theory. However, the words and sentences that they mentioned in the CSM can categorize as a middle range theory. The CSM was proposed to provide the framework for depicting the self regulation when individuals have to encounter stress caused by an illness and understanding the processes involved in problem coping. Leventhal et al. described that the CSM consists of three core concepts: representation of illness, coping, and coping appraisal. The relationship between the concepts was presented in the parallel processing system that interact as the individual adapts to each specific situation. These processes lead individuals to seek health care for acute illnesses and manage their illness for chronic conditions. • 36. Comparing Kubrick s Film And Burgess Essay A difference and slight similarity between Kubrick s Film and Burgess novella is the narration. In both, Alex is the narrator and uses Nadsat vocabulary to describe his acts of violence, however, the film narrative is perceived as less powerful as the novella. In the book, Alex s narration accentuates his cruelty, pleasure, and lack of remorse. His pleasure is highlighted in the book displaying his dark thoughts, making the novella A Clockwork Orangeappear to be a more grotesque piece in language than the film. This is evident in an act of violence, the raping of two ten year old girls. In the film, Alexhas what appears to be consensual sex with two women around or a few youngers than himself, that the met in a record store. In the novel, he meets two ten year old girls instead and purchases them some food in addition. He then convinces them to come with him where they become intoxicated and he rapes them. Alex in the novella narrates the aftermath, They looked like they had been in some big bitva, as indeed they had, and were all bruised and pouty. Well, if they would not go to school they would still have their education. And education they had had. They were creeching and going ow ow ow as they put their platties on, and they were like punchipunching me with their teeny fists as I lay there dirty and nagoy and fair shagged and fagged on the bed. • 37. The Story Of The Movie The Great Gatsby And Snow... Heroes are found everywhere when Disney is involved. From a prince or princess to secretive toys to the smallest forms of life on earth, a hero can be found in anyone. Being attached to one or a few is entirely common. These certain characters may be the ones they look up to. Young girls often choose to look up to a princess, although, they are not what they were over 50 years ago. The very first Disney princess, Snow White, is purely a damsel in distress. The same goes for Aurora who appeared in Sleeping Beauty years later. As the years have gone on, that weaker vision of a princess has faded. The modern day princesses are anything but damsels needing to be saved by a man. Rapunzel chooses to give up her freedom in order to save Flynn Rider s life. Tiana works hard to provide for herself so she can chase her dream. Merida rejects what everyone else thinks she should be and is true to herself. Elsa only needs the love from her sister. This list will only get bigger as Disney continues to create these young female heroines. If anything, Disney is preaching to young girls everywhere to be strong in a world that may play on their faults or weaknesses. During a time strong feminist movements, Disney manages to satisfy demands by allowing the girl to be the hero. Though Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are still timeless classics, the princesses of today set a better example for young girls everywhere and that is why they seem to be more attractive than the originals. Disney has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This dream was truncated at first, as soon as Erick started to plant on his farm he noticed that his soil was depleted, in other words it had no nutrients or minerals in it. In order to solve this problem, Dr. Daphane explained that Erick went to the agronomy books since he was a smart man as he went to Yale. In the agronomy books, Erick found out the technique called testing and replacing that is what he did. Dr. Daphane compares this technique like a routine blood test, but for the soil. In this test, he had to send off testing tubes containing soil, to an agronomy lab to get reports as a person would get for his blood from the medical lab. The results he got from the agronomy lab contained information from his soil. For example, if the soil needed more minerals or if it had too much of a mineral, as well as how much minerals he needed to replace. After sometime later, Dr. Daphane explained that Erick started to wonder and imagine where these minerals came from. As well as why these mineral the manufactures recommended the user to wear a mask and gloves while spreading them. Then she explained that Erick also heard stories that adding too much of one element can lock up other elements, which could create worst soil problems than the ones he already had. As a person grows, another form of ossification known as bone growth goes on until early adulthood as the body continues to increase in size. Bones are capable of growing in thickness throughout life. Intramembranous ossification takes place within the womb and is the process by which flat bones such as some of the bones of the skull and the collarbones are created from connective tissue. It also is the process for injured bones to heal and occurs when bones are broken or damaged in order to reconstruct the bone. Another process occurring during... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This process is more complex than intramembranous ossification because the hyaline cartilage must be broken down as bone formation proceeds. There are four main stages of endochondral ossification. First, perichondrium that is covering the hyaline cartilage bone is infiltrated with blood vessels and becomes vascularized periosteum. As a result of this change in nutrition, the underlying mesenchymal cells differentiate into osteoblasts, and the stage for ossification is set to begin. Bone collar forms around the hyaline cartilage, and osteoblasts of the new periosteum secrete osteoid against the cartilage diaphysis, encasing into a new layer of bone called the periosteal bone collar. In the second step of endochondral ossification, the bone collar forms, and chondrocytes within the shaft enlarge. Nutrients can no longer diffuse once the matrix becomes sufficiently calcified and the chondrocytes subsequently die. This creates cavities within the bone. Elsewhere, the cartilage remains healthy and continues to grow briskly, causing the model to elongate. During the third stage which is in month 3, the forming cavities are invaded by a collection of elements called the periostial bud, which contains a nutrient artery and vein, lymphatic vessels, nerve fibers, red marrow elements, osteoblasts, and osteocytes.
