Why Jane Goodall Should Be Considered A Hero
Jane Goodall
Imagine being tested on by scientists with unsafe products, or being abused just because you are
another species. Jane Goodall stands against that. She believes that animals should have an
equally happy life as humans, and that keeping a clean environment is a way to do it. Goodall
has proven many people wrong through her research and discoveries. This is why Jane Goodall
should be considered a hero, because of the work she has done that has positively affected the
environment, animals lives, and what we have learned. Even though people had doubted her, Jane
discovered new things on chimps, proving many people wrong. When She was a kid, her father
gave her a toy chimpanzee, Jubilee, who had inspired her

Perception Of Authority
Nil Patel
Perception of Authority
An instance of travel on the most elementary level is a journey to another location. In Home and
Harem, Inderpal Grewal identifies travel as an institution of England. The voyage to new territories
had sparked a new era filled with new opportunities and ideals in the European continent. Most
importantly travel became an agent of English nationalism and was a key aspect in rise of
imperialism. To expand England s domain of influence became a collective journey and eventually
being a subject of England was equivalent to being imperialist. For people that could not travel, the
guidebook acted as the object of mediation between authority and those it was imposed on (105). At
the Metropolitan Museum, the Egyptian exhibit is also represented under a certain niche monitored
by authority. The spectator culture may vary based on prior knowledge, but the carefully fabricated
environment showcases how the controller authorizes representation within their domains.
There is an unsettled discussion on the pertinence of imperialism to all classes in England. While
some consider it just a concern of the nobility others link it to the manifestation of newborn
nationalism and patriotism in all classes beginning from the mid 19th century. John Mackenzie in
Propaganda and Empire and Imperialism and Pop Culture introduces the concept of generalized
imperial vision as a counterview to the discussion. He sees classes as formations that are
predetermined.

Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich
Making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich can be very simple. To start you will need the
necessary equipment, two pieces of bread and a napkin or plate which ever you prefer, a knife,
jelly, peanut butter, and lastly your mouth. Now prepare to make a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich. Now that you are already in the kitchen get out a plate or napkin, if you choose a plate
choose a paper plate less dishes to do. Then you need to get the loaf of bread, open it up and take
out your two slices of bread. Now that you have your two slices out, you can put back the rest of
the loaf. Take your two slices and set them on the plate next to each other not on top of each other.
Now you need to find a knife. It has to be the right

Justification in The Old and New Testaments Essays
When a man is justified before God, he is declared not guilty with reference to the sins he has
committed against God. Amazingly, God s not guilty verdict does not relate to just one crime, but
to every sin the justified man has ever committed or will commit. Paul declares that we have no
penalty to pay for sin, which includes past, present or future sins that we may commit. Those who
have been justified by faith, There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ
Jesus(Rom. 8:1). Therefore, if we are justified there is no penalty to pay for sin and we are free to
any charge of guilt or condemnation. Douglas Moo writes it beautifully, Because we are justified
by faith in conjunction with our... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abraham inherited his sinful nature through Adam, so he was sentenced to a physical and spiritual
death. Abraham was credited righteousness by being obedient to the Law of God.
In Genesis 6:8 it describes God and Noah s relationship, But Noah found favor in the eyes of the
Lord. In Hebrews 11:7 it states, By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet
unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned
the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. Noah was righteous through
his faith. Noah was not righteous by his works or obedience to God.
Paul quotes David as a blessing in Romans 4:6 8, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the
one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: Blessed are those whose lawless
deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will
not count his sin. Paul introduces David as a example of righteousness by faith. Paul cites Ps. 32:1
2 to demonstrate that David s righteousness was not based on his works. This demonstrates the idea
of full forgiveness of sins is prominent when Paul discusses justification by faith alone.
In Psalm 14:1 3 David says every person sins. Also, David states in

The Theory Of Management And Taylorism
In today s society we often use certain practices and methods that have worked well in the past.
Managing is one of those practises that is the most important for the well being of a business, and
has been important to make sure that individual efforts coordinate. Major management theories
and practices such as scientific, administrative, and behavioural theories have had more research
put into them as the years have progressed. Theories such as these are depended on more than
ever since society relies on group efforts, especially because several organized groups have
become large. Factors such as these make managerial theories crucial in the way managers control
the operations of their company. If we compare the way these methods are... Show more content on

Themes such as analysis; synthesis; logic;rationality; empiricism; work ethic; efficiency and
elimination of waste; standardization of best practices; were all spread out into new management
methods.
When scientific management was created, it evolved during a time where mechanization and
automation were unpopular. When companies started replacing people with machines, the scientific
method had to be re evaluated. This was due to America s craft work (work with humans) being no
longer existent. Scientific management later lead to business methods such as offshoring, industrial
process control, and numerical control. Offshoring occurs when a company moves from one
country to another due to production costs and availability of resources. Industrial process control
and numerical control come into effect when a company s machines and systems are no longer
operating at full potential.
Along with everything in life, change is almost a factor for the future. Over the decades, scientific
management has evolved immensely. During the early decades of scientific management, the
demands of work intensified. Workers were not impressed nor satisfied with the environment that
they worked in and became furious with their employers. During one of Taylor s own
implementations of his scientific management method at the Watertown Arsenal in Massachusetts,
workers began to

Video Gameplay Of Video Games
Video Gaming has played a major factor for video gamers worldwide, this brings the expertise of
video game developers to develop the next generation of video games. Video gamers(?) in Japan
and the United States share the enjoyment in playing video games. What is the history behind
video games? What are the prices of video games in Japanese? What are the prices of video
games in the United States? How are American and Japanese video games are different? There
are similarities and differences in both cultures in video games. The history behind video games
all started with theis console, invented was a rectangular brown cube with two attached
controllers, and its name was Brown Box . Ralph H. Baer was the inventor of this console,
which it was released in 1967. He made it to where it can be connected to any ordinary television
set. They were six games for this console including: Ping Pong, tennis, handball, volleyball, chase
games and a light gun game. In 1975, Atari marketed the PONG arcade machine. In the same year
Magnavox released Odyssey 100 and 200. Nintendoreleased its first console in Japan in 1977. In
the 1980 s video games became very popular. Many people became bored of the PONG like games
and wanted something new. They made games such as Pac man (1980), Mario Bros (1983), The
Legend of Zelda (1986), Final Fantasy (1987), Golden Axe (1988), etc. The video game industry
soon shifted to making cartridge video games instead of built in games (this is a direct

Don t run! Or he ll kill you!(pg. 125) he let out a colossal roar and came charging at it. And not
only that, but instead of getting weaker due to the long periods on foot, he only grew stronger
each step he took. Though Juan knew it would practically be impossible to run for so long on
very little resources, he wasn t going to let that stop him from being reunited with his mother,
whether he reached the end or died trying. Ultimately, Juan was determined to accomplish
anything he desired in life. If he was able to run days on end with very little stops, just to be
brought together with his mother, there wasn t anything he wasn t able to do. One of the
biggest inspirations for Juan s Character is Duel, a man who he met back at the prison and a
minor Character, a fat cook whose name is never revealed. Epitacio was assumed to have gone
back to Mexico the night before when he was drunk and wasted his and Juan s paycheck.
Because of this Juan is forced to take a second shift as Juan Cruz. While in line that night, one of
the men named Thomas recognized Juan and persuaded him into a scheme that could backfire
dramatically, but he would earn more money than he could make in an 8 hour shift. The plan was
to put a sack of copper ore alongside the outside of the fence so they could steal it later; then the

Dbq 1920s Imperialism
Between 1870 and 1920, the European nations took the use of imperialism due to economic,
political, and social forces to control the less developed locations of the world. Economical forces
used the need for raw materials for a reason to take locations. Social forces such as racism,
thinking that themselves, the Europeans were better than whomever they were taking over.
Political forces used militarism more often than not to take the less developed locations of the
world. The use of economical, political, and social forces were all important during the rise of

The Character Analysis Of Iago In Othello
The first symptom that Iago exhibits is deceitfulness. Iago spends the entirety of his time during
the course of the play manipulation others and indulging in deceitful behaviors. Iago s actions
are constantly manipulative, self serving, and often proving harmful to others. The DSM 5
describes this trait as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal
profit or gain . Throughout the plays run Iago puts forth a facade, making himself seem
trustworthy in order to get closer to characters like Roderigo, Cassio, and Othello, whom he uses
to inflict pain on others, or themselves. One scene in particular comes when Iago and Cassio are
the party that is happening that evening. Iago attempts to get Cassio to drink, but Cassio is
opposed. Iago tells him, I have a stoup of wine Cassio replies with Not tonight good Iago Iago
counters with, O they are our friends! But one cup; I ll drink for you (2.3. ). However, this is not
an isolated incident, Iago is shown being manipulative and deceitful the entire play. Cassio was
just a pawn in Iago s plan, for Iago no one has enough value to not be used. Iago displays habits
similar to another sociopath, the infamous Ted Bundy. According to the website Weebly, Bundy
frequently manipulated his victims, using his good looks and charm as lures to trap his victims .
Iago s actions are very similar to known sociopath Ted Bundy. Iago incidentally makes a comment

Comparing Plato And Bacon s The Idols Of The Tribe,...
In discussions of our susceptibility of delusions and false beliefs, Plato argues that humans can
choose whether they want to follow the false beliefs in the darkness, or go into the light by facing
all aspects of reality with honesty. Bacon s argument is similar to Plato s, and Bacon combines the
four mistakes of human nature into four different idols. Idol of the tribe, cave, marketplace, and
theater. Bacon s idols help explain how we are vulnerable to delusions Although Plato and Bacon
claim that we are susceptible to delusions and false beliefs, I claim that the human understanding is
vulnerable to distortionbecause people bring their own background into their thoughts which distort
the truths. truthis distorted by human understanding and people are teaching the distorted truth to
other people, so people become blinded when they go from the darkness, the bad, to the light, or
the good. Bacon explains what Idols of the Cave are, and how they lead to a distortion of the
truth. The Idols of the Cave are the idols of the individual man. For everyone (besides the errors
common to human nature in general) has a cave or den of his own, which refracts and discolors
the light of nature (Bacon 131). Here, Bacon describes that every person has their own ВЁcave
which represents the fault of people. The cave distorts the truth and reality, and this is how false
facts come to be. Because everyone has their own cave, one truth is distorted differently by every
single person until

was no destruction of property reported during the duration of the event. (Jacksonville.com) Also,
although there was a large amount of trash left at the end, the 600 acre cleanup project was

people who enjoy nerve wracking action most of a book. Despite the fast paced nature of the
book, one can also see the development of characters throughout not only the trilogy, but this
book alone. Yet one reading must also enjoy a fantasy world with a completely different culture
and society base than that of our own. One can easily find themselves lost in the world that
James Barclay has beautifully constructed. For those who have a hard time getting into any given
book if it starts out slowly, not to worry, Shadowheart is faced paced from the get go. Despite
having a few defined protagonists, the antagonist is sometimes hard to find. This can mostly be
attributed to having multiple story lines within any given chapter telling you about what is going
on with every side of the war. This structure gives the book a unique reading style that is enjoyable
and adds an extra element to the experience of reading. I would recommend this book to

Child Prostitution in Asia
Child Prostitution in Asia In ancient times, children were viewed as smaller versions of adults.
There was little perceptible difference between an adult and their younger counterparts. By the
Middle Ages and up until the Renaissance, girls as young as twelve were still considered
marriageable age. Sexualizing children was a form of their education and indoctrination into the
world of adults. However, in the modern time, we have come to understand that children and
childhood is a time for innocence and development. The historical adulteration of children was
rightly seen as barbaric and archaic. Forcing children into adult roles can lead to a destructive
adulthood. Physical and emotional abuse of children can destroy someone. Even worse is the type
of abuse characterized by sexual activity and sexual interaction with children. The sexual abuse of
children leads to abnormal development and an adult with severe mental problems, prone to
violence and often continuing the chain of abuse into subsequent generations. Forcing a child to
commit sexual acts before they are physically or mentally mature enough to handle it is the worst
kind of crime. Yet, in nations all over the world, this kind of abuse not only occurs, but is a
profitable business for perpetrators. Child prostitutionis illegal all over the world, but in some
countries the laws against child prostitution and the use of underage people for sexual interactions
are lax and often go unenforced. The World Congress

Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar
Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar The works of Sylvia Plath have always been at least slightly
controversial; most of them have themes of feminism, suicide, or depression. Plath was born in
1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, and by the age of twelve she was reported to have had an IQ of
about 160 (Kelly). Growing up in an age in which women were expected to be nothing more than
conservative housemaids, Plath stood defiant against the views of society, choosing to expose any
misogynistic prejudices or hateful prospects against mental illness through her writings (Allen).
Perhaps the most famous work of Sylvia Plath s is The Bell Jar a book that follows the mental
deterioration of a nineteen year old girl named Esther through the narration of Esther herself.
Although Sylvia Plath hated life in general and committed suicide at the age of 32 after her husband
left her, the myriad autobiographical elements, metaphors, and motifs that appear throughout her
works produce a beautifully vivid representation of people, the world, and life itself ( Sylvia Plath

her own future family. As the story progresses, however, Esther becomes indifferent about life, and
she develops bitterness toward everything that appears to prevent her from achieving things she

Spec Ops is most directly a reaction to the Call of Duty series, an industry juggernaut that has
come to define the modern shooter. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the sixth entry in the
series, is the quintessential title of its genre. The game became a blueprint for shooters when it
demonstrated how an activity as morally dubious as killing could be used to ensnare audiences.
On this subject, Kyle Kontour writes, it is not merely the market that has become militarized, but
the rhetoric of recruitment has itself become integral to advertising these games purchasing and
playing a commercial war game becomes, according to its promotional material, an act of

players that their actions are serving a greater good, an unpleasant but vital end. Players come to

Argumentative Essay On Alcohol Advertising
Alcohol Advertisements
Did you see the game on Sunday Night? Do you remember who won? How many commercial
breaks aired during the game? Chances are that you watched the game with your children and
during the commercial breaks advertisements for alcohol were shown. You may not remember
who won, but I know you remember that commercial with the golden retriever puppy and the
pretty Clydesdale pony. Although the infamous Budweiser Clydesdale pony looked adorable
while bumping noses with the puppy, have you ever wondered about how these commercials
affect the decisions your children will make? While you see the big red Budweiser logo, your
children are more than likely focused on the puppy.
How the rules have been broken.
In the 1990 s marketing codes were set in place to limit the audience to which these commercial
advertisements would attract. These codes were created and somewhat enforced by alcohol
advertising companies. These marketing codes also put a limit on what the advertisements can say
about the products. Anything that could target a child is not supposed to be allowed. Some of these
characteristics include animals, bright colors, or a party theme atmosphere. Since the 90`s a lot
companies have failed to follow these codes and regulations. Yet no punishments have been perused
on these companies. (Source A2, A3)

Due to the fact that imitations for the product are being developed more rapidly, Ben Jerry have
changed their primary marketing goal to establish products that cannot be imitated, but the
technological developments of the company have not allowed them to launch the products
within a decent time limit. B J s mission statement includes the need for a wide variety of
innovative flavors. Five years to find the perfect coffee bean seems unnecessary. Coffee ice
cream, in this period, may have become undesired by the customer. This scenario is
compounded by, the quick replication by competitors, and the high costs related to
manufacturing each different flavor. As a result, it is key to stop producing brands not received
well, as well as introducing new flavors quickly. Flavor of the month may be a way of bringing
consumers to them on a regular basis. Research will be key in identifying the market in any
region or country B J wishes to operate, especially into consumers needs and wants. The way
choices are made needs to be understood and the positioning of B J needs to accommodate this.
The decision is based, amongst others, by the mood of the potential consumer at the time of
decision. Ben Jerry seem to be proud of the success rate of their relaxed, casual culture and having
employees involved in the decision making. However this policy needs to be reviewed as decisions

Analysis Of Hey There Delilah
Confessing Love Through Song The purpose of this paper is to analyze the song Hey There
Delilah by the Plain White T s. This paper will identify the message and tone of the song, as well
as the artist s appeal to the audience by analyzing the organization of the song, and the specific
rhetorical strategies the artist used to connect to the audience. The song s organization, style,
figurative language, and hyperboles in the lyrics will also be analyzed to connect the artist s
intention back to the audience. In this song, the artist s main point and thesis, is that he is head
over heels in lovewith a girl named Delilah. He wants to tell the world, and Delilah herself, how
much he loves her, and how their love conquers the distance between them.
This song was released in May 2006 in the United states, with the intended audience being people
ranging in age from middle school age to college age. He chose this range in age to connect to a
broad amount of people, with the general assumption that they would be familiar with what love is,
or have experienced it themselves.
The artist wants the audience to feel his substantial affection for Delilah, and how it is unchanging
even though they are separated by distance. He appeals to the audience s emotions of admiration,
compassion, and longing for another person. The artist does this by singing about his extensive
love for Delilah, which may lead people to think of someone they themselves care deeply about, or
an example of love in their life.
The artist chooses an upbeat and happy tempo that repeats throughout the song. He chooses this
repeating tempo to draw the listener s attention to the lyrics of the song. The slow, yet happy tempo
paired with the artists bright and cheery voice creates a sense of ease and happiness within the song
itself, and the audience.
In this song, for the majority of the time the artist is confessing and explaining his love for
Delilah to the world, and Delilah herself. He does this by telling the audience exactly what he is
thinking, however, he does use imagery on occasion to accentuate his point. For example, the artist
uses the simile Times Square can t shine as bright as you, to compare Delilah s radiance to the
lights of New

Life In The Iron Mills And The Simplification Of Black...
Life in the Iron Mills the Simplification of Black Suffering.
Rebecca Harding Davis Life in the Iron Mills illustrates class conflict and the exploitative nature of
American industrialization. It has been regarded as one of the first notable examples of American
realism that portrayed the burdens of industrial factory workers. Davis uses slavery comparisons
throughout the novella, this rhetoric threatens the potency of her work.
Class disparities serve to isolate the impoverished from the bourgeois, this alienation exists
because of class but Davis seeks to create this division by race. For example Hugh is worn down
and blackened by his hard labor.
This comparison becomes problematic when she equates the mill workers position with that of
chattel slaves. By doing so she ignores the realities of both struggles, Davis rhetoric could lead
some to believe that the plight of mill workers is even more severe than slavery.
Though in reality the two only share a few similarities, factory work was far less severe than
chattel slavery that lasted over two centuries.
Davis used this comparison since she was able to witness the atrocities of both chattel and wage
slavery during her lifetime. The use of a slavery comparison would be understood by readers since
abolition was controversial at the time Iron Mills was published.
Yet black suffering is only a device to describe the main subject of white mill workers, she
inaccurately depicts chattel slavery and downplays

Research indicates that the majority of public knowledge about crime and justice is derived from
the media (Roberts and Doob, 1990; Surette, 1998). Therefore, it is imperative to examine the

Overcoming My Obstacles
Throughout life, many individuals encounter things in their life that they find difficult to

all or at least it takes them a much longer time to do so. I fall into the third type of individual.
The obstacle that I had to face deal with my disability in the sense of people undermining my
capabilities. I was born with a disability called myelomeningocele. For those who don t know
what this is, myelomeningocele is basically a type of spina bifida that is a defect of the spine
and spinal cord where the spinal canal and the backbone is not closed before delivering a baby.
In my case, the defect wasn t as severe compared to others who have the same disorder. Most

cancer. This research paper explores information regarding food intolerance looking specifically at
the role of gluten on the immune systemand how an elimination diet plays a role.
Gluten is a protein found in most cereal grains and is consumed in greater quantities than any other
form of protein. It has been estimated that 6% to 7% of the U.S population have been diagnosed to
be gluten sensitive, bringing that number to almost 20 million people. Intolerance to gluten relates
to gastrointestinal problems which include diarrhea, bloating and might result in consumption.
Other body systems that are affected are the central and peripheral nervous systems, the
integumentary system and the endocrine system. Berstad et al at Oslo s Lovisenberg Diaconale

problems which the patients think are caused by sensitivities to certain kinds of foods. The results
of the study showed that all by one participant was qualified for irritable bowel syndrome. In
addition, 85% had symptoms indicating chronic fatigue syndrome and 74% showed symptoms of

Arabian Nights Characters Analysis
The frame story of The Arabian Nights is set up with the kings encounters with their wives and the
demon s woman. Linked by the emphasis on promiscuity as a shared characteristic of all the women
concerned, and structurally by the repetition of the act of betrayal and the humiliation of men, the
message is clear: womans sexuality and promiscuity can not be controlled.
Opening with the story of King Shahrayar and Shahrazad and their wives, we are first introduced
to the themes of betrayal and the promiscuity of women. Here are two kings living in different
cities, far from each other, experience similar circumstances. Their women, having betrayed them,
make love to their slaves once King Shahrayar and Shahrazad are gone. This is the first sign of the
king s changing their perspective on women and both acting rashly on their own feelings.
How will it be and what will happen behind my back when I go to visit my brother in India? No.
Women are not to be trusted. He got exceedingly angry, adding, By God,I am king and sovereign in
Samarkand, yet my wife has betrayed me and has inflicted this on me. As his anger boiled, he
drew his sword and struck both his wife and cook. Then he dragged them by the heels and threw
them from the top of the palace to the trench below. (pg 6)

The Nation Of Islam And African Americans
The Nation of Islam was founded by Wali Farad in Detroit, Michigan in 1930. While Farad is
credited with the foundation, most of the teachings came from a different movement. It evolved
from the Moorish Temple of Science founded by Timothy Drew (Source 1). Drew preached that
Islam was the correct faith for African Americans. Drew also preached that African Americans were
superior to Caucasians. The Nation of Islam, along with being a religious movement, was a
movement for change. They wanted to raise awareness and create racial pride within the African
Americancommunity (Source 1). The Nation of Islam wanted to improve the lives of African
Americans, however, how they wanted to achieve that improvement was unacceptable. The Nation

This mentality is dangerous and can have disastrous effect on society. The hatred can lead to

that is not African American. This is the second reason that the movement was unacceptable. The
Nation of Islam used the teachings of Timothy Drew from the Temple of Science (Source 3). Drew
preached that African Americans were the superior race. He especially focused on their superiority
over the Caucasians. Drew also preached that the Caucasians were doomed because Jesus was a
black man who attempted to redeem the Black Moabites, only to be executed by the white
Romans (Source 3). These teachings influenced the Nation of Islam greatly and lead to their belief
in African American superiority. It is important for African Americans to feel a sense of pride,
however, that should not lead one to believe that they are better than others based off of their skin
tone. This prejudice leads to discrimination of other based on skin color. Instead of falling

A famous game that followed a clear and simple pattern was Mario, where the player was given
the task of searching for the princess in successively empty castles. Another example of an early
game is Space Invaders, where the goal of the game was to destroy multiple rows of pixelated
aliens. Because storytelling techniques were primitive in the early years, the player was not
rewarded with cutscenes that drove the plot forward; instead he got points that were accumulated a
total score. However, with the passing of time, technology and the gaming audience evolved and
matured, creating new opportunities for the medium to expand its horizons and develop new
storytelling techniques. Following the significant evolutions in technology, video games have
adopted these advancements and continued to become more elaborate, especially with the use of
motion capture, which allows technicians to capture and record the live performance of actors that
are applied to the 3D models of the virtual character. This is only one element that makes the

advancements have given to the developers of video games the opportunity to construct stories and
characters which are more believable and complex, bringing about a narrative revolution. In recent

Spirit Of Offense
Do you walk in the spirit of offense?
The truth is, all of us at one time or another, have either been offended or offended someone.
And the good news is, we all have the opportunity to SHIELD UP!
How Do I know if I have the spirit of offense?
Before we get into what it means to Shield Up, let s first identify if we have the spirit of offense.
Even though we are told in James 1:19 to be slow to take offense, we have seen relationships
destroyed and people leave their church family over the spirit of offense. (Block Quote)
Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow

Submission is meant for every believer. As Godexpects us to submit to Him, to each other, to our
spouses, employers, and our government!
Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient,
always ready to do what is good. ~ Titus 3:1(NLT)
The slippery slope here is that without submission, we can almost guarantee that we will walk in
the spirit of offense.
That s because to be discipled is to be mentored. To be mentored is to be held accountable.
However, you cannot be discipled without being teachable. You cannot be mentored without
yielding to submission. And you cannot receive accountability without humility.
In other words, when you walk in humility you will avoid walking in the spirit of offense!

Stanislavski and his approach to theatre taught the actors to consume the realities of their
everyday lives and embark on an emotional journey to devise their characters for performance.

Essay on The Hoover Dam
The Hoover Dam
Out in the middle of no where, an hour drive away from Las Vegas, NV lies one of the biggest
dams and power plants in the world. Built in the heart of the depression, it serves as more than
just a barrier from water to pass through. The concrete poured into the walls of Hoover Dam, are
made by the sweat and blood of hundreds of Americans who were looking to save themselves, and
their families.
Residing on the Colorado River, the Hoover dam rises out of no where. Downstream from the Grand
Canyon, this structure is almost as impressive as the Grand Canyon. With its towering height, and
awesome power output, it is almost inconceivable that the technology required to build such a
structure would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

been possible without the financing of a very large company. During the middle of the depression,
it was extremely hard to find a company who was willing to front the money to start the project.
One was found and for close to forty nine million dollars, the dam was financed by six different
smaller construction companies.
The first thing that needed to be constructed was roads that lead up to the dam site. Hoover dam isn
t anywhere close to any towns or cities. The railroads didn t even lead up to it. The first order of
business was to make the dam accessible by the cars and trains that would be bringing in the
supplies necessary to make the dam. In order to try and stop the water from flowing down to the
dam site, a cofferdam was built slightly upstream, and another slightly down stream from the dam
site. This cofferdam allowed for the diversion of water through large pipes to down below

  • 2. Why Jane Goodall Should Be Considered A Hero Jane Goodall Imagine being tested on by scientists with unsafe products, or being abused just because you are another species. Jane Goodall stands against that. She believes that animals should have an equally happy life as humans, and that keeping a clean environment is a way to do it. Goodall has proven many people wrong through her research and discoveries. This is why Jane Goodall should be considered a hero, because of the work she has done that has positively affected the environment, animals lives, and what we have learned. Even though people had doubted her, Jane discovered new things on chimps, proving many people wrong. When She was a kid, her father gave her a toy chimpanzee, Jubilee, who had inspired her ... • 3. Perception Of Authority Nil Patel Perception of Authority An instance of travel on the most elementary level is a journey to another location. In Home and Harem, Inderpal Grewal identifies travel as an institution of England. The voyage to new territories had sparked a new era filled with new opportunities and ideals in the European continent. Most importantly travel became an agent of English nationalism and was a key aspect in rise of imperialism. To expand England s domain of influence became a collective journey and eventually being a subject of England was equivalent to being imperialist. For people that could not travel, the guidebook acted as the object of mediation between authority and those it was imposed on (105). At the Metropolitan Museum, the Egyptian exhibit is also represented under a certain niche monitored by authority. The spectator culture may vary based on prior knowledge, but the carefully fabricated environment showcases how the controller authorizes representation within their domains. There is an unsettled discussion on the pertinence of imperialism to all classes in England. While some consider it just a concern of the nobility others link it to the manifestation of newborn nationalism and patriotism in all classes beginning from the mid 19th century. John Mackenzie in Propaganda and Empire and Imperialism and Pop Culture introduces the concept of generalized imperial vision as a counterview to the discussion. He sees classes as formations that are predetermined. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Justification in The Old and New Testaments Essays When a man is justified before God, he is declared not guilty with reference to the sins he has committed against God. Amazingly, God s not guilty verdict does not relate to just one crime, but to every sin the justified man has ever committed or will commit. Paul declares that we have no penalty to pay for sin, which includes past, present or future sins that we may commit. Those who have been justified by faith, There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus(Rom. 8:1). Therefore, if we are justified there is no penalty to pay for sin and we are free to any charge of guilt or condemnation. Douglas Moo writes it beautifully, Because we are justified by faith in conjunction with our... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Abraham inherited his sinful nature through Adam, so he was sentenced to a physical and spiritual death. Abraham was credited righteousness by being obedient to the Law of God. In Genesis 6:8 it describes God and Noah s relationship, But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. In Hebrews 11:7 it states, By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. Noah was righteous through his faith. Noah was not righteous by his works or obedience to God. Paul quotes David as a blessing in Romans 4:6 8, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin. Paul introduces David as a example of righteousness by faith. Paul cites Ps. 32:1 2 to demonstrate that David s righteousness was not based on his works. This demonstrates the idea of full forgiveness of sins is prominent when Paul discusses justification by faith alone. In Psalm 14:1 3 David says every person sins. Also, David states in ... When companies started replacing people with machines, the scientific method had to be re evaluated. This was due to America s craft work (work with humans) being no longer existent. Scientific management later lead to business methods such as offshoring, industrial process control, and numerical control. Offshoring occurs when a company moves from one country to another due to production costs and availability of resources. Industrial process control and numerical control come into effect when a company s machines and systems are no longer operating at full potential. Along with everything in life, change is almost a factor for the future. Over the decades, scientific management has evolved immensely. During the early decades of scientific management, the demands of work intensified. Workers were not impressed nor satisfied with the environment that they worked in and became furious with their employers. Iago spends the entirety of his time during the course of the play manipulation others and indulging in deceitful behaviors. Iago s actions are constantly manipulative, self serving, and often proving harmful to others. The DSM 5 describes this trait as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or gain . Throughout the plays run Iago puts forth a facade, making himself seem trustworthy in order to get closer to characters like Roderigo, Cassio, and Othello, whom he uses to inflict pain on others, or themselves. One scene in particular comes when Iago and Cassio are the party that is happening that evening. Iago attempts to get Cassio to drink, but Cassio is opposed. Iago tells him, I have a stoup of wine Cassio replies with Not tonight good Iago Iago counters with, O they are our friends! But one cup; I ll drink for you (2.3. ). In discussions of our susceptibility of delusions and false beliefs, Plato argues that humans can choose whether they want to follow the false beliefs in the darkness, or go into the light by facing all aspects of reality with honesty. Bacon s argument is similar to Plato s, and Bacon combines the four mistakes of human nature into four different idols. Idol of the tribe, cave, marketplace, and theater. Bacon s idols help explain how we are vulnerable to delusions Although Plato and Bacon claim that we are susceptible to delusions and false beliefs, I claim that the human understanding is vulnerable to distortionbecause people bring their own background into their thoughts which distort the truths. truthis distorted by human understanding and people are teaching the distorted truth to other people, so people become blinded when they go from the darkness, the bad, to the light, or the good. For everyone (besides the errors common to human nature in general) has a cave or den of his own, which refracts and discolors the light of nature (Bacon 131). • 16. Child Prostitution in Asia Child Prostitution in Asia In ancient times, children were viewed as smaller versions of adults. There was little perceptible difference between an adult and their younger counterparts. By the Middle Ages and up until the Renaissance, girls as young as twelve were still considered marriageable age. Sexualizing children was a form of their education and indoctrination into the world of adults. However, in the modern time, we have come to understand that children and childhood is a time for innocence and development. The historical adulteration of children was rightly seen as barbaric and archaic. Forcing children into adult roles can lead to a destructive adulthood. Physical and emotional abuse of children can destroy someone. Even worse is the type of abuse characterized by sexual activity and sexual interaction with children. The sexual abuse of children leads to abnormal development and an adult with severe mental problems, prone to violence and often continuing the chain of abuse into subsequent generations. Forcing a child to commit sexual acts before they are physically or mentally mature enough to handle it is the worst kind of crime. Yet, in nations all over the world, this kind of abuse not only occurs, but is a profitable business for perpetrators. Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar The works of Sylvia Plath have always been at least slightly controversial; most of them have themes of feminism, suicide, or depression. Plath was born in 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, and by the age of twelve she was reported to have had an IQ of about 160 (Kelly). Growing up in an age in which women were expected to be nothing more than conservative housemaids, Plath stood defiant against the views of society, choosing to expose any misogynistic prejudices or hateful prospects against mental illness through her writings (Allen). Perhaps the most famous work of Sylvia Plath s is The Bell Jar a book that follows the mental deterioration of a nineteen year old girl named Esther through the narration of Esther herself. • 24. Analysis Of Hey There Delilah Confessing Love Through Song The purpose of this paper is to analyze the song Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T s. This paper will identify the message and tone of the song, as well as the artist s appeal to the audience by analyzing the organization of the song, and the specific rhetorical strategies the artist used to connect to the audience. The song s organization, style, figurative language, and hyperboles in the lyrics will also be analyzed to connect the artist s intention back to the audience. In this song, the artist s main point and thesis, is that he is head over heels in lovewith a girl named Delilah. He wants to tell the world, and Delilah herself, how much he loves her, and how their love conquers the distance between them. This song was released in May 2006 in the United states, with the intended audience being people ranging in age from middle school age to college age. He chose this range in age to connect to a broad amount of people, with the general assumption that they would be familiar with what love is, or have experienced it themselves. The artist wants the audience to feel his substantial affection for Delilah, and how it is unchanging even though they are separated by distance. He appeals to the audience s emotions of admiration, compassion, and longing for another person. The artist does this by singing about his extensive love for Delilah, which may lead people to think of someone they themselves care deeply about, or an example of love in their life. The artist chooses an upbeat and happy tempo that repeats throughout the song. He chooses this repeating tempo to draw the listener s attention to the lyrics of the song. The slow, yet happy tempo paired with the artists bright and cheery voice creates a sense of ease and happiness within the song itself, and the audience. In this song, for the majority of the time the artist is confessing and explaining his love for Delilah to the world, and Delilah herself. He does this by telling the audience exactly what he is thinking, however, he does use imagery on occasion to accentuate his point. • 25. Life In The Iron Mills And The Simplification Of Black... Life in the Iron Mills the Simplification of Black Suffering. Rebecca Harding Davis Life in the Iron Mills illustrates class conflict and the exploitative nature of American industrialization. It has been regarded as one of the first notable examples of American realism that portrayed the burdens of industrial factory workers. Davis uses slavery comparisons throughout the novella, this rhetoric threatens the potency of her work. Class disparities serve to isolate the impoverished from the bourgeois, this alienation exists because of class but Davis seeks to create this division by race. For example Hugh is worn down and blackened by his hard labor. This comparison becomes problematic when she equates the mill workers position with that of chattel slaves. By doing so she ignores the realities of both struggles, Davis rhetoric could lead some to believe that the plight of mill workers is even more severe than slavery. Though in reality the two only share a few similarities, factory work was far less severe than chattel slavery that lasted over two centuries. Davis used this comparison since she was able to witness the atrocities of both chattel and wage slavery during her lifetime. The use of a slavery comparison would be understood by readers since abolition was controversial at the time Iron Mills was published. Yet black suffering is only a device to describe the main subject of white mill workers, she inaccurately depicts chattel slavery and downplays ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
