Dating and Marriage in Japan Essay
Japan Dating Marriage Customs Project
Love is in the air. Although this may sound like a cliche it is true. Love is prevalent in every
society all around the world. The feelings associated with love may be the same all over, but how
love is approached can vary. Dating and marriage customs are different from country to country;
Japan, in particular has very unique dating and marriage procedures. Japan is a located in
Southeastern Asia. The Japanese tend to share some very different ideas concerning dating and
marriage. However, some of our beliefs and morals have spread into the culture of the Japanese.
Nevertheless, Japan holds strong to their roots and their unique culture. Similarly, we tend to
narrow our beliefs on their ideas as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In general, a Japanese person will live with their parents until they are officially married, this also
means during the dating process. This is different from the more western tradition of moving in
once the relationship is getting serious. The Japanese refrain from moving in with each other to
prevent the couple from having sex before they are married. However, this doesn t prevent sexual
activity during the relationship. The couple could go to love hotels, karaoke booths, the backs of
cars, and public parks. This isn t a taboo topic, but it isn t openly discussed either. Japanese people
also stay with their parents until marriage to motivate themselves to get married at some point in
their lives, rather than live with their parents for the rest of their days. Additionally, if one lives
with their parents for too long and the parents are not okay with this, the parents will then resort to
marrying off the child. Although arranged marries aren t the tradition anymore, it is used as a last
resort. But, a child can have an arranged all together. In the previous generations arranged
marriages were the custom thing to have, but the recent generation has progressed, and it is now
accepted to date around and pick a spouse. In Japan, there are not just certain ways are done, there
s the way things are supposed to be done. Thus, culture is culture, and formalities are formalities.

It s Time to Privatize Colombian’s Prisons
The involvement of the private sector in the penal system, prima facie, could be seen as a rapid
and low cost, high benefit solution to the most serious penal system problems such as lack of
prisons spaces, poor condition within the prisons, and the state responsibilities of running prisons
services adequately, by the figure of prisonprivatization. (Cavadino, M. and Dignan, J. 2007)
The figure of contracting out has been well described by Cavadino and Dignan in their analysis of
the prison privatization. This model involves the private sector in the penal system, by giving to it
certain responsibilities, such as, auxiliary services, design and construction of prisons, basic
custodial functions, or a set of above, which is named ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, a careful analysis of the fact that the private sector, management of prisons could be seen,
just as a business, where everything is looking for the most part a financial item, so that, may
generated danger of lack accountability and transparency in the delivery of punishment to the
prisoner. Therefore it is very important in this point, the labour of the state as a controller and
overseer, supervising that the contractor fulfils its obligations in an appropriate and transparent
manner.
Second, analysis of competition between public and private sectors in terms of provision of
services in the search for low cost and high benefit as part of the delivery of the sentence, Logan,
C. argues that they face the same problems, and for that reason are in the ability to compete.
it is primarily because they are prisons, not because they are contractual, that private prison face
challenges of authority, legitimacy, procedural justice, accountability, liability, cost, security, safety,
corruptibility, and so on. Because they face no problems that are both unique and insurmountable,
private prisons should be allowed to compete (and cooperate) with government agencies so that we
can discover how best to run prisons that are safe, secure, humane, efficient and just . (Logan, C.
1990)
Under this approach, the competition between the two sectors can be legitimized, and beneficiaries
to improve impressments, under the

Comparing Two Adverts
Smoking has a dramatic impact on many Victorians. Two ads that are trying to address the issue
are Vic Health Will your kids go through the agony and Quit Line s Should have been there . They
are trying to stop parents smoking and position them to quit for their kids. Quit Line is an
organisation that has been running since early 1970. Vic health on the other hand has been running
since 1987. The contention of Should have been there is for the parents to stop smokingso they do
not miss out on things with their kids. The intention is to stop smoking so the viewers can spend
as much time as possible with their kids. Whereas the contention of Will your kids go through the
agony is to get the audience to stop and think about their kids and how will they go if the viewer
passes away from smoking the intention is for the audience to stop smoking so for the kids sake....

They both are targeting the same audience (parents). They highlight and emphasise the point that
kids have to go through the pain just as much as the adult. They both use music to make the
audience feel what they are going through. When these two ads use sad music, it is trying to make
the audience s emotions come into play so that they feel as though they are in that situation and
they are truly saddened about what is going on with that family. They both demonstrate and
reinforce the fact that everyone is affected by just one person smoking in the family. The
contention is very similar because they are both stating that the person will miss out on things with
their kids. Again, these ads are very similar and are each are trying to say something about how
parents smoking can lead to them missing

Introduction. As One Looks Through Recent Histories Of
Introduction As one looks through recent histories of the media, it quickly becomes apparent that
there has been an influx of controversies regarding the freedom of the press. Considering the age of
America, and the state of current technology, it is understandable why it is now reaching such
discrepancies. In particular, the decisions leading up to the conviction of Theodore Kaczynski,
known as the Unabomber, is one of much dispute. By taking a closer look that this case s situation,
values applied, principles upheld, and loyalties owed, one might be able to have a clear
understanding of what ethical decisions should have been taken in regard to the media.
The Situation Theodore Kaczynski, the Unabomber, was a domestic terrorist ... Show more content

Combined, these two realizations opened up the door for much commentary by journalists. This
situation became apparent, and while the action of publication could not be taken back, there was
still significant discussion about the decision making process.
Values Applied Proceeding from understanding of the situation is a close examination of the
values associated with the case. As defined by Merriam Websters Dictionary, the word value is
something (as a principle or quality) intrinsically valuable or desirable, (Webster). In application
to the case, values can be seen by all three parties of interest(the public, the media, and the
government). Clearly, the public is concerned largely about safety and the overarching goal to
bring the Kaczynski to justice. Safety an be seen as the value of nonviolence which falls under the
category of morals. While the public can not be assured that Kaczynski will not continue his bomb
making with the publication of the manifesto, they can be reasonable assured that the bomb making
will continue if it is not published. To this end, they value the preservation of life. On the other
hand, the media has a different set of values. Both The Washington Post and The New York Times
have the desire to be [independent] from the government, [and] from hostile groups who make
threats, (Christians 55). Both are reasonable utilizations of the value of professional independence.

Persuasive Essay On Pitbulls
Stories can travel far and wide reaching everyone. This can benefit or destroy beings as the story
can twist and be changed along the way. A victim of this can t speak up for themselves but are
known as man s best friend . There are dogs all over the world that are being abandoned or put
down in shelters as a result of many factors. The history or story of a breed of dogcan influence how
people perceive them today. All the different breeds we know today have history behind them. We
can find out where they first originated and how they came to be. There is a breed of dog that
seems to take most of the hits, the American Pitbull. This breed of dog is quite intelligent, loving

Not every dog is a good boy and we need to also remember that these are animals who will do what
they need to do in order to survive. This can mean them fighting for their life or adapting to their
surroundings in order to live another day. Animals are intelligent and amazing creatures that rely on
instincts as we cannot truly communicate with them. Though some breeds have gotten a bad
reputation, there are organizations out there that are doing everything they can to help save
innocent lives that are being ruined by bad stories. Big or small these people are putting their time
and effort to inform people of their ignorance.
Further spreading knowledge of this matter can help limit animals on the street and help find
ones in shelters new homes. Adopting those in shelters helps by giving them a second chance at
living a happy life but also allows for more room so other animals in need can move in. The
overabundance of animals in shelters can be limited if people would spay and neuter their pets. By
doing this it will eliminate the unexpected or unwanted pregnancies and allow for animals in the
shelter to be looked at more. Not many people are aware of the closest animal shelter or the
primary one that might be active in their community. This is one thing that needs to change as we
make this situation more aware to the community. Having the local animal shelters more accessible
as well as advertising them

Dachau Concentration Camp Essay
In the early 1930s, the residents of the picturesque city of Dachau, Germany, were completely
unaware of the horrific events about to unfold that would overshadow their city still today. The
citizens of Dachau were oblivious that their city was going to become the origin of concentration
camps and of the Holocaust, the mass murder committed by the Nazi s in World War II. Dachau
Concentration Camp, which would soon be placed on the edge of their community, would serve as
a model for all Nazi extermination camps. This perfect prototype of a Nazi killing machine has
come to represent the start of the horror filled Holocaust and the Nazi s determination to achieve a
perfect society during World War II.

The bunker acted as a prison within a prison and served several functions. It was the central site
of cruelty; imprisonment in the bunker meant weeks without sufficient food and brutal beatings
by the SS guards. Joseph Ulc, a Czech musician, was arrested in 1939 for being a political
opponent to the Nazis and was sent to Dachau Concentration Camp. For allegedly planning to
escape, he was severely beaten and forced to spend two weeks in the bunker. It was horrible to be
in complete darkness all alone. I starved for three days before on the fourth day I was given
something to eat... I constantly spoke and counted my steps because sitting was not permitted.
Often I shook my head in sheer disbelief, he said of his imprisonment in the bunker.
The SS guards also conducted interrogations in the underground rooms of the bunker. Often
prisoners were tortured in order to extract a confession. Twelve standing cells were added to the
bunker in 1944. With a surface area of only 490 square centimeters, prisoners in the cells could
neither sit, lie down, or take in sufficient oxygen. Behind the bunker, prisoners were whipped and
hung from poles.
The command area surrounded the prisoner camp. Nine guard towers, ditches, tall concrete walls,
and electrified barbed wire encircled the whole camp. A maintenance building and living quarters
for 200 SS trainees and 200 camp guards were positioned near to the camps

Huntington s essay on the Clash of Civilizations is persuasive in historical anecdotes and real
world current events. Most of Huntington s essay need not say anything more then what is
already repeated on major media outlets around the world. The essay states what has long been
opposed by the far left; namely, that people choose to interact, trade and form alliances with like
peoples . It then, shouldn t come as a surprise that the author needs to say little in order to sway an
audience to his hypothesis by simply relating real world events such as rising nationalism in
Russia2, Greece3 and France. One only has to look at the Anglo sphere of alliances in areas of
conflict in the Middle East to find that Huntington s persuasive argument is a narrative of real
world events4. Non Western nations that hope to transition into modern nations form alliances with
Western nations but such alliances only serve to further destroy the credibility of the elites within

democratic process of their respective nation states further proves that the will of the people in non

L. L. Bean does both and sometimes they even drive around the L. L. Bean boot bus to college

the player s performance. This added value to the shoes as people saw the players wearing them
in the matches and also wanted to buy them as they could help the basketball skills. Also using
professional players the promote your product is very clever as the people considering buying the

The Importance Of Food Safety
Upon inspection of the food services department, we have found a gross negligence of the state
food safety regulations. Upon inspection of the food service department we have found foodborne
hazard of biological, chemical, and of physical nature. The organization will note that a foodborne
hazard is any biological, physical, or chemical substance that may get into foodand cause harm to
individuals who eat that food (Safian, 2014). Of those found to be in the biological nature include
contamination of expired poultry, beef, and eggs. Upon consumption of any of these meats by
partons or patient of the facility, individuals could develop salmonellapoisoning, listeria, bacillus
cereus, and norovirus which is the leading cause of acute epidemic gastroenteritisamong children
under the age of 5 years and adults in the United States and in adults worldwide, accounting for an
estimated 20% of episodes of acute gastroenteritis across all ages ( Foodborne Diseases and
Conditions Norovirus, 2017). Disease caused by these conditions will cause vomiting, diarrhea,
cramps, fever, respiratory failure, and death. Based off of the information gathered from our
inspection in regards to biological foodborne hazards, the food service department will be closed
until properly brought to code and that it is my recommendation that employees in this department
be terminated due to the negligence found.
Upon completion of the inspection of the food services department, many physical hazards have
were found, some of which according to employees have not be fixed or working properly for
quite sometime. There are extreme amounts of dust covering the vents which hang above the food
preparation error, four light bulbs that have gone out and judging by the amount of dust on them
have been out for quite sometime. Employees adhering to the dress code in which all employees
working in the food service department should wear a facility approved hat or hair net. Female
employees have also been notated for having decorative fingernails which are in violation of the Вј

Alexander Hamilton Advantages And Disadvantages
Alexander Hamilton Hamilton was man who had everything going against him since the
beginning. Unlike many of the other Founding Fathers, he did not have a privileged
background. Hamilton was the only founder born outside the American colonies. He was an
immigrant who had many disadvantages early on. Instead of settling for an unremarkable life,
he did not let them stopped his ambition. His disadvantages only fueled his ambition. He was a
smart man who was always in the pursuit of honor. Always outspoken and fearless, Hamilton
transformed our country. It did not took him long when he came to the colonists to make an
impression. He was an advocate for revolution since the beginning and was destined to become a
hero of the American Revolution. After the Revolutionary War was over, he was the most
important supporter of the Constitution which he defended in the Federalist Papers. This made
him key in the ratification of the Constitution. As Secretary of Treasury, he became the architect
of the country s financial system. It took effort and a lot of writing but he was able to complete
his very unlikely path to greatness. The life of one of the most influential individuals in
American history began in 1755 on the island Nevis in the British West Indies. In this tiny
tropical island in the Caribbean was where he came into this world at the very bottom of the
social order. He was a bastard illegitimate, because his mother was not legally married to his
father. As a result, he was prohibited from attending a Christian school, and had no rights of
inheritance. When he was ten, his family moved to St. Croix, where hundreds of plantations
worked by slaves produce sugar and coffee for export. His Scottish born father, James A.
Hamilton, came to the West Indies with the ambition to make a fortune in the sugar trade, but was
never successful. Soon after they arrive on St. Croix, his father abandoned the family. He would
never see his father again. Only about two years later at the age of thirteen his mother, Rachel
Faucette, died of yellow fever. Faucette s small estate went all to her first husband, Hamilton only
kept the books. He loved reading and took advantage of these books and the knowledge stored in
them.

The Hiroshima Bombing Fifty four years ago, the detonation of the first atomic bomb on the
Japanese city of Hiroshima (and later on Nagasaki) ushered to the Nuclear Age. It was a moment
full of horror, in which the eyes of the whole world were opened to the unimaginable possibility of
nuclear holocaust. The experience on what happened to those cities and what is still happening to
many of the survivors there, leads to explore what happened to America as a consequence of
Hiroshima; both the bomb s existence in the world, and the United States having used it. The

The Causes And Treatments Of Joon Hee Bang ( S )
Nocturnal Enuresis
The causes and treatments
Joon Hee Bang (S)Enuresis Enuresis is defined as a repeated involuntary urination of individuals
old enough to be expected to exercise such control. Most girls can stay dry by age six and most
boys by age seven. Enuresis can be classified into three different types; Diurnal enuresis, Nocturnal
enuresis and Mixed enuresis. Diurnal enuresis and Nocturnal enuresis are daytime and night time
wetting respectively. These two types are also known as monosymptomatic. When these two
symptoms occur simultaneously, it is then known as Mixed enuresis (nonmonosymptomatic). Most
of the time, the term Enuresis can be used equivalent to Nocturnal enuresis, as it is most common

Primary enuresis is when a patient did not experience a period of controlled voiding, where as
secondary is referred to as repetition of bedwetting after having been dry at night for more than 6
months. Other than this, primary and secondary enuresis are similar in terms of clinical
presentations, as they show common pathogenesis. The factors implicated in the pathogenesis of
enuresis include a disorder affecting arousal from sleep, nocturnal polyuria, and a reduced nocturnal
bladder capacity. These factors will be discussed further on later.
Requisites of controlled urination There are two main points that are considered important for
ability of controlled voiding. Firstly, the sufficient production of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) ,
which reduces urine production at night. Moreover, one has to be able to wake up themselves
when the bladder is full. Treatment such as the bedwetting alarms and DDAVP tablets are based on
these factors, in order to cure and improve them.
Etiology of Enuresis There are several different conditions that may precipitate secondary enuresis.
First of all, cystitis and constipation are both associated with reduced functional bladder capacity
which may lead to enuresis. However, parents are often unaware of these conditions in their child.
In one cross sectional study of 277 children with enuresis, in which parental reporting of
constipation was compared with a clinician s assessment,

The Decline in Union Membership has Helped to Improve...
The Decline in Union Membership has Helped to Improve Industrial Harmony Assess whether
the decline in Union membership has helped to improve industrial harmony. From 1979, the
British labour market has experienced an era of de unionisation that is still occurring at present.
In 1979, 53% of workers were union members (Machin, 2000) and by 2004 only 27% of all
workers were affiliated to a union. In the 10 year period between 1991 and 2001, there has been a
fall in membership of 15% (Labour Market Trends, 2001) Trade Union Memberships, Britain, 1989

Why would a worker belong to a trade union? Trade Union s use their collective identity to help
individuals receive the best treatment from their employers; in working conditions, and matters
of pay and entitlements. Unions work for their members to ensure wage mark ups are in line
with the changes in the economy and in harmony with expectations of the workers. A by product
of a trade unions work is to influence a more equitable dispersion of wages in the economy. All
the outlined objectives appear only to be positive, making it questionable as to why union
membership would decline for any reason other than the opinion that working conditions are good
and a union s interference is considered unnecessary. In fact, there are several reasons for the
decline in trade union membership that are not directly due to improved relations at work. The
composition of the labour force has dramatically changed in Britain where the 1970 s tradition of
the working class male in industrial heartlands has been replaced with equal proportions of men and
women now working in a predominantly service based economy. The compositional factors of de
industrialisation and the increase in female participation have undoubtedly lowered membership

Today s schools have standardized promotion requirements in the hopes that all students will be
promoted in fairness. Like most states, Ohio s criteria for promotion in grade school include a

benchmarks that must be met in all of these areas. The four levels of grading are: Advanced student
performs at a superior level; Proficient student has a solid performance; Deficient student s
performance is lacking; Failing student s performance is unsatisfactory. A student must be

Additionally, the state of Ohio uses these proficiency tests to evaluate the schools themselves. The
schools must pass all areas to retain accreditation. Approximately 93% of schools evaluated are
failing in at least one area (1998 99 1). This creates problems, as teachers, under pressure to perform
well, tend to teach toward the tests. Instead of having fun with their students and exploring areas
related to the topic, the teacher focuses on the areas the students will be tested over. That is, their
curriculum loses its wide range and tunnels towards the information covered on the tests. This
tunneling tends to narrow our children s education.
The percentages of failures indicate change is needed. A new form of educating our children,
which is really a return to the schoolhouse type of education, is Mixed Age Education. MAE is
an educational program built on the premise that different children learn different things at
different rates. This program allows children to be organized not by age, but by skill level. The
groups are generally divided into K 2 and 3 5. A child may be in Kindergarten level math and first
level reading or fourth grade science and fifth grade English. The child s progress is frequently
assessed for trouble areas and to determine when he or she is ready to advance to the next level in
each individual area of teaching. A child s progress is

Why Is Samsung To Achieve Global Competitive Advantage
Question 1 (40 Marks)
Critically analyze and discuss the strategy adopted by Samsung to achieve global competitive
Advantage. (500 words)
Answer 1
To understand how Samsung achieved global competitive advantage we first need to understand
what do we mean by Strategy ?
At the business unit level, strategy is a set of management decisions concerning which customers to
target and what to offer them. (European Business Forum, 2007)1
Strategy is a concept that focuses on long term objectives of a firm keeping in view the changes
that take place in the business environment and the possible implications that it has on the firm.
Thus, a dominant and well structured strategy plays a very important element in capturing

The reason being that the company didn t depend upon its organizational members or managers to
act rationally and take decisions. Rather the firm was highly determined on revising its product
design in order to achieve global competitive advantage. The processual strategy states that
organizations whose products are genuinely better can outwit their competitors. In a similar manner
Samsung also came out with a variety of convergence products which gave the firm an extra boost
of competitive edge. For instance, Samsung launched 5 and 7 mega pixel camera phones in 2005
along with a 10 mega pixel camera in 2005. It also launched the SGH i310, a phone with a
capacity of 8 GB that could easily store about 2,000 MP3 files. By offering products that were
completely different and unique with respect to their design, features, quality etc. Samsung soon
occupied a major share in the electronics market. The systemic school sees strategy as constrained
and shaped by the socio economic systems in which it is embedded. (Small Business Economics,
Jan 2009)3 Samsung along with the processual strategy also adopts the systemic theory of strategy.
In that the company aligns its activities and products with the social systems that the firm interacts
with for instance cultural, political, social etc. Samsung functions in an environment that is highly

Eating Disorders Are Serious Disorders
Eating disorders are serious disorders that have a negative impact on both the psychological and
the physiological well being of the afflicted (Welch, Ghader, Swenne, 2015). Studies concerning
eating disorders are showing more and more frequency in younger age groups and especially in
those who are athletes, diabetics, and obese adolescents (Martin Golden, 2014). This tells us that
symptoms of eating disorders can be caught and treated during adolescence. Today, many schools
have very little class time dedicated to educating students about healthy lifestyles. Little, to no
information is given about what eating disorders are or how to avoid the development of one. If
information is provided about the prevention of eating disorders, it is usually in the form of a
video or discussed briefly in a textbook. Schools are not doing enough in the fight against the
development of eating disorders. Many studies have shed some light on the issue of eating
disorders by conducting surveys and developing new programs to use in schools. The primary
prevention of eating and body image problems among young people, and in particular, adolescents,
is emerging as one of the most desirable achievements in contemporary health and nutrition(O Dea
J. , 2000). Primary prevention programs, and better education in general, for the prevention of
eating disorders and promotion of healthy lifestyles needs to be established in schools. The
purpose of this paper is to propose more education

As shown in There Will Come Soft Rains , annihilations includes the obliteration of nature and
our surroundings. To convey this message to the readers, Ray Bradbury makes a strategic use of
the narrative elements: setting and figurative language. As the story begins, we learn that the
house stood alone in a city of rubble and ashes. This was the one house left standing. At night the
ruined city gave off a radioactive glow which could be seen for miles (Bradbury 167). From the
start, we begin to see that everything in the vicinity of a town on Earth is destroyed except this
damaged house still managing to function properly. Through the description of the setting, the
readers start to get an idea of what it would be like if the world is destroyed by a radioactive
bomb. On top of the house already been destroyed, we read that a falling tree bough crashed
through the kitchen window. Cleaning solvent, bottled, shattered over the stove. The room was
ablaze in an instant! (Bradbury 170). This instant clearly depicts the idea of the obliteration of
nature and subsequently the obliteration of already destroyed mankind due to hatred and

Symbolism In The Chronicles Of Narnia
In the series, The Chronicles of Narnia, written by a Christian author named C.S. Lewis, wrote the
series as fun entertainment for young folks. C.S. Lewis actually grew up as an atheist, but later
became the most popular convert to Christianity in the twentieth century. He was converted to
Christianity at the age of thirty three and from there on out he devoted his life to promote and write
about Christianity (Byfield). In The Chronicles of Narnia, there are several symbols and references
to the Bible. It is written from a Christian perspective, and made Christianity known to all who
was reading it. The series was also popular because even if you believe in a different religion, it
was open to interpretation and is a series that is just as appealing to other groups of different
faith as well. Narnia itself has symbolism written all over it, but it is up to the reader to find it
and really understand the meaning of everything that happens and how it relates to the Christian
faith (McGrath). C.S. Lewis in a way, re told the life of Jesus Christ, and all the tragic events that

service is the big idea of this generation. Citizens should have the opportunity and the responsibility
to serve for their country. National service involves people more with their community by allowing
them to have a voice and participate more with their communities. Citizens will come together
stronger after serving together. General Stanley McChrystal wrote a democracy journal explaining
that it would be in the best interest for everyone to join the service for one year. General Stanley
McChrystal is a retired four star general and the former commander of the U.S and International

Introduction: At first glance, it is understandable to assume that Fyodor Dostoevsky s The Gambler
and F.Scott Fitzgerald s The Beautiful and Damned are incomparable and unrelated in every way.
However, when exploring in detail the character development in each novel, an alternate verdict can
be presented that shows, beyond peradventure, that both novels share similarities. Granted, The
Gambler is about a tutor working for a Russian family and his evolution into a pathological
gambler, where as The Beautiful and Damned is concentrated on the relationship of a wealthy
young couple in the Roaring 20 s who taste the bittersweet consequences of extravagance as the
book traces their mental, moral and physical disintegration. Nevertheless, both novels explore
depression as a concomitant of the amalgamation between love and avarice. Both Dostoevsky and
Fitzgerald, through different settings, character and circumstances, have created a grandiose
psychological portrait of unrequited love as well as depression through addiction and loss. The
Gambler is a semi autobiographical, first person narrative novel written by Fyodor Dostoevsky

In analyzing the relationship between Brutus s and Caesar s relationships with their wives, one can
tell how they become influenced yet not completely swayed to their wives claim. This further

The Hazards of Space Travel for the Human Body
In the year 2042, aerospace engineers continue to struggle with the challenge of a manned mission
to mars. Biomedical complications disrupt any advancements in the effort, as astronaut safety is
considered the most fundamental aspect of a successful mission. In order to study the effects of
weightlessness and radiation in a deep space environment, NASA launches a government funded

As an organism in a hostile environment, precautions must be made.
An astronaut must maintain peak physical health to ideally preform and adapt to a space
environment. In order to minimize the extent of medical concerns, strict medical standards are
established to guarantee the correct crew for the mission. Designed by surgeons and experts in
aerospace medicine, the regulations mirrored those of the U.S Air force. Extensive consideration is
taken in the categories of blood pressure, radiation exposure, hearing, dental health, and precise
body composition. Annual medical certification examinations are conducted by flight medicine
physicians. These exams insure that the crew is not only fit for space flight, but also for training.
Crew members are given a supporting exam at launch, as well as two days after landing (Risin).

Stereotypes of Men in Advertisements Essay
Stereotypes of Men in Advertisements
Visual representation of reality, as seen through mass media, is acknowledged by sociologists to
be influential in shaping people s views of the world. Our everyday realities are articulated
mostly by what we see in the media. The role of advertising in this interpretation of reality is
crucial. The target audience s self identification with the images being a basic prerequisite for an
advertisement s effectiveness, makes advertising one of the most important factors in the building
of behavior models and values systems. The way a certain notion is managed at a visual level

I expect to see reinforcement of the stereotypes discussed in Denise Kervin s study as well as the

Dominant discourses surrounding gender encourage us to accept that the human race is naturally

characteristics. In Foucault s terms, relations of difference are social constructs belonging to social
orders that contain hierarchies of power, defined, named and delimited by institutional discourses,

How Did Plato s Beliefs Contribute To The Study Of Philosophy
Philosophy can be described as coming to understand through means of deep thoughts. Two famous
examples of practitioners of this field include Plato and Parmenides. Though these two philosophers
taught about many different things, they both taught and agreed on one thing: what it meant to be
wise. Platoand Parmenides both provide an account of what it means to be wise, and the central
agreement between them is that at its core, wisdom is realizing that truth lies beyond the base
senses and hubris of the human body.
Plato believed that wisdom consists of gaining knowledge and understanding through the forms, and
by reducing dependency on the bodily senses, and the material realm that they observe. Plato is

The knowledge that they gained through understanding the eternal and unchanging form is
something they could have never been made aware of if they had tried to gain knowledge

wisdom through his famous Allegory of the Cave. In this thought experiment, Plato described a

shackled in such a way that they were made to look at the wall of the cave. On this wall, several

They favour the nature side. Nativists believe that people s behaviour is the result of many years
of evolution and adaptation and that our individual differences stem from the genetics we inherit
from our parents. An example of this nativist theory was theorized by Noam Chomsky. He
proposed that all children are born with an instinct mental capacity to both produce and learn
language. If people are able to inherit the ability to learn language, does this mean that other
behavioural traits and abilities are also inherited? Those in favour of explaining human behaviour
by way of nurture are called empiricists. These empiricists believe that the mind begins as a blank
slate, which is also known as tabula rasa. This notion then explains that our experiences and
memories shape who we are, how we behave, and what our knowledge is by filling the blank slate
during our years of life. Albert Bandura s social learning theory is an example within the empiricist
side of psychology. This theory suggested that people learn by observing the behaviour of others.
In his Bobo doll experiment, it was observed that children could learn aggressive behaviour by
watching adults act aggressively. Was this imitated aggressive behaviour the result of the

Included in Patton s journal, was a case in which African American Women have lost their jobs
due to their race or have been prohibited from portraying themselves in the ways they wish in
order to cover up some of their race as if being of color is something to shy away from. Failure to
work toward the Euro American beauty ideal can result in such consequences as the loss of a
job. For example, some African American women have lost their jobs due to their hairstyle
preference, which was deemed too ethnic. The 1981 case of Rogers v. American Airlines,
upheld the right of employers to prohibit the wearing of braided hairstyles in the workplace

after years. We have tried to fix it a couple of times but every time white supremacy remains. One
way that we as a nation tried to rid the world of racial discrimination was by the black is

Firstly, the meaning of emotional regulation and Erik Erikson s theory of eight stages of
development are depicted, with special emphasis on early childhood. This is done for the purpose of
underlining the importance of regular emotional development as opposed to one impaired by abuse.
Secondly, stress falls on describing and classifying child abuse and its prevalence in children
under six years of age. After a brief outline of the areas in which a victim is challenged, focus shifts
onward to specific emotional and social drawbacks that ensue. A more in depth account of this
matter follows, enlisting Alan Schore s right brain correlations, an analysis based on the
phenomenon of dissociation, and other probable prospects for the victim.
The conclusions venture a realistic overview on the aspect of early childhood abuse and its
outcomes.
Development of a person throughout his or her whole lifetime can be seen either as a continuous
process or as a final status to be attained. Psychologists agree

Boredom Is A State Of Mind
Boredom is a state of mind that hinders everyone at some point in life. I find that I encounter
boredom most during the summer when I am free from the constraints of school and social life.
This state of mind could lead someone to do some pretty outrageous things, whether that be very
small or life changing. Life could completely change because of one stupid mistake made when
bored. When looking back before the mistake, it seems a lot better than it does now. I have
experienced an instance similar to the one described. It was during the summer of 2016, and I was
going through a state of boredom. I had the mindset that anything is better than the feeling of
boredom, even pain. There was a week, during the summer in particular, when my thoughts and
mindset really affected me. I felt like I was wasting my life by not doing things with my time. I
know this is a drastic response to a couple weeks of boredom; however, I tried to spend time with
my best friend, but she was busy working and our plans always seemed to fall through. All I
wanted was to be alone to sulk about my boring and uneventful life. I found the perfect spot to do
just that; it was the roof of my house. There was a different atmosphere when I sat on the roof; I
felt truly alone with my thoughts. I visited this spot multiple times during the week when life
seemed too heavy to hold.
Thursday was the day of the accident. I was frustrated with my life. I spent the majority of my time
in school, and when I finally

Brain and Behavior of Men and Women Essay
If we were to examine a high school calculus classroom or the staff at an engineering program of a
college or university, chances are that the male to female ratio would be significantly skewed. Why
are women and men so different in their choices and behavior? The brunt of popular opinion
focuses on the environmental cues that lead to our distinct behaviors. But is there also an innate
biological basisto the choices and differing abilities between men and women? Cognitive
functioning or brainprocessing differences in the two genders has been a point of interest and
contention for many years. The purpose of this essay is to explore if neuroanatomical and genetic
differences between males and females play a role in the development of... Show more content on

Contrary to popular belief, gender and anatomical sex refer to two distinct and separate constructs
as each develops at different times and in different parts of the body. John Money coined the
phenomenon that codes for masculinity or femininity as Gendermaps (1). At a very early age and
through an interaction of both nature and nurture, this gendermap imprint is established. What
makes gender identification and sex so frequently parallel to each other is that gendermap
evolvement is notably also induced by hormones that emanate from the developing fetus (1).
Behavioral Differences:
Though there are many similarities in the cognitive abilities of men and women, there are also
discernible differences. For the most part, the behavioral differences between the intellectual
capacities of the sexes have to do more with patterns of ability than the actual intellectual capacity
(3). For one, attention and perception differ early on. Baby girls have been noted to gaze longer at
objects than baby boys. Later they rely on landmarks and memory for guidance. Boys on the other
hand, have a better visual spatial ability such as aiming at stationary or moving targets and
detecting minor movements in their visual fields more easily. The fact that males perform better in
navigation seems to agree with the possible theory that evolutionarily, many of these abilities would
have been important for survival in the time of

Behind The Great Emancipator Analysis
Behind the great emancipator s created public persona lies the real Abraham Lincoln, a man who
not only used his political standing on slavery to get into presidency by consistently changing his
opinion on them, but actually had an ulterior motive to free the slaves with a questionable
document, the emancipation proclamation. While some historians like Eric Foner in The Fiery
Trial: Abraham Lincolnand American Slavery and Richard Striner s Father Abraham: Lincoln s
Relentless Struggle To End Slavery would agree that this change can be described as growth,
others like James Oakes essay Freedom National: The Destruction of Slavery in the United States,
1861 1865 would say that it was all part of his initial plan to free the slaves. James M. McPherson
would complement Lincoln on his character, but other more daring historians would challenge the
idea that Lincoln had actually freed the slaves with the emancipation proclamation, something

As Lerone Bennett Jr. quotes in his book, when the emancipation is taken at face value, the legal
shackles from four million black slaves are removed but not the physical shackles that tie them to
their owners. It is this fact that makes the efficiency of the Emancipation Proclamation
questionable. In McPherson s review of Cox s book, he mentions Vincent Harding who makes the
point that Lincoln did not free the slaves, they freed themselves by escaping from their master to
Union lines. Gates, Bennett and Lincoln himself also makes the observation that only 200,000
slaves were actually freed because of the Emancipation Proclamation. It was actually the thirteenth
amendment that had actually freed the slaves on January 1st,

Jeremy Bentham And John Stuart Mill s Mill On Utilitarianism
Mill on Utilitarianism The creed which accepts as the foundation of morals, Utility, or the Greatest
Happiness Principle, holds that actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness,
wrong as they tend to produce the reverse of happiness (Utilitarianism, Mill). This theory of
Utilitarianism was generated by the original Utilitarians, Jeremy Benthamand John Stuart Mill. Mill
says: Happiness is intended pleasure, and the absence of pain; by unhappiness, pain, and the
privation of pleasure (Utilitarianism, Mill). Furthermore, these basic principles of Utilitarianism are
located under the Greatest Happiness Principle which states that actions are considered moral when
they promote happiness and immoral when they promote... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, based on the theory of life, Mill believes that pleasure is an end in itself, the ultimate
goal of life. As a result, it is proven through Mill s idea of the Utility Calculation, under the theory of

Angelynn York. (Utilitarianism, mill)
In the case of Angelynn York vs. The Chino Police Department, York was sexually harassed by
Officer Ron Story when confiding in the Chino Police Department to address a violent assault that
had taken place earlier that day on her person. Ms. Angelynn York endured many physical and
mental pains while the Chino Police Department had many pleasures and only a small number of
pains. (Philosophy, Rachels)
This leads to Mill s categorization of the mental and physical pains of the parties involved. The
physical pains Ms.York suffered, under Mill s interpretation, were the forced undressing

The Changes in Police and Crime Drama Over Time Essay
The Changes in Police and Crime Drama Over Time
Crime drama has always been featured as one of the most popular genres of our society. However
over the year s crime drama has been changed and adapted to fit into different times. Many aspects
of crime drama have been changed such as camera shots, seriousness of crimes and police language
/jargon in order for crime drama to change with the times, become more realistic and retain its
former popularity.
Throughout time many crime programmes featured on T.V have changed through Media language
(Iconography, editing, camerawork and music). The Bill, first created in 1984 featured a lot of
Iconography. At the start of the title sequence the camera focuses... Show more content on

Camera shots and editing have also changed. Older title sequences of the Bill used long camera
shots, which were not varied and were focused on a particular person. However over the years as
technology has improved the title sequences have become faster paced and use shorter and varied
camera shots that create feelings of excitement and tension for the viewer.
Music has also changed. The original title sequence (1984) featured reggae style music and used
off beat instruments. This suggested that the programme was based in a multi cultural area. The
music in the late 80 s was more upbeat and faster paced, however it featured the same theme tune.
The music in the mid 90 s was jazzy and sophisticated. Music has become more upbeat due to
changes of personalities in society. However the theme tune has remained the same in order for
people of different times to identify the programme as a long remaining classic.
The storylines of each title sequence have also changed over time. In the original title sequence
we do not see the police s face. This indicates that the main emphasis of the programme is on the
job of the police rather than their characters. The slow moving music and camera shots convey the
sense that the programme does not feature dangerous crimes but simple crimes such as theft or
burglary. However the late 80 s title sequence shows clips of

Cellular Transport: Passive and Active Transport
1. In passive transport, what determines the direction of movement of small particles? The direction
of movement of particles in passive transport is determined by the concentration gradient (diffusion)
between the cytoplasm and the extracellular fluid. 2. Why do the molecules in facilitated diffusion
need help moving across the plasma membrane? Likely, the molecules are too large to pass unaided
through the plasma membrane with the concentration gradient; they need to pass through special
transport proteins.

Essay on The Never Changing Society
Society is constantly changing but there are ideas that are embedded into society that still remain.
The idea to survive and the idea to become better than your previous are still present. There exist
one idea that correlates to a very strong impulse that controls our daily happening and our lives,
the idea of selfishness. Everyone does something for something in return. In our present day
society, selfishness is more evident when it comes to the matter of greed. Large corporations will
put on different facades to attract different types of people to buy their product. This is core behind
the idea of advertising.

companies need to appeal to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nissan worked their marketing strategy into the hype of the year 2000. Saying things such as It
is coming slowly hyped the car ads up. When the car ads were finally shown, it would have the
phrase, An All New Compact Sedan and then a red marker would scribble out the word Compact .
The marketing strategy must have had some sort of focus and idea that it wanted to set forth. First,
the word compact sedan is used to describe the vehicle. Then the red marker crosses out the word
compact showing that it is not a small car anymore. This in theory is appealing to those people
who would like to buy S.U.V. s because they are larger cars that compact sedans but this sedan is
not a compact. Nissan attempts to also appeal to the individuals who desire a larger vehicle to
boost their ego. Also, crossing out the word compact endorses the idea that this is not like the
previous sedans, it is different, and it is breaking the mold; another plan to endorse the
revolutionary idea of the car. Using a red marker to scribble out the word compact is used to
show the childish nature of the car. In our present society, becoming old is not very appealing;
many people still want to feel young. Not only is the red marker used to cross out the word, it
leaves a trail as if it was a crayon and each time a word is crossed out, the marker makes a
different action each time. This action is trying to set forth the image of Nissan as playful and
friendly not systematic

Fetus Should Not Have Rights
The fetus cannot possibly have rights because the fetus cannot be determine as a complete human
and no statics can back up 100% when human life begins without a doubt. We all assume we know
but we don t. It s our own opinion; therefore, we cannot determine the laws and rights on our
opinion but we can determine it on the fact that the mother is a human begin and has lived up the
life. Besides the fetusdepends on the mother at all time during the pregnancyand after birth. The
mother is the one who is going to have to feed the child, clothes the child and change the child s

another but why should the woman be remind every single day of what happened due to having

someone else because that one would be on them. Yes it is the state s reasonability to protect the
rights of its citizens but the fetus is unborn therefore it cannot possibly be a citizen. Abortion is legal
because the government wants to protect the rights of the woman and let them have a safe

Age Of Exploration Pros
There are many aspects of history that are considered to be controversial. The Age of Exploration
was considered to be a positive achievement because of the discovery of the new world known as
America. Although people believed this, there were a lot of things going on in the background that
were very negative. The age of exploration should be considered a crime against humanity because
of the deadly diseases, ruthless conquistadors, and the endless slavery. The Europeans who traveled
from Europeto the Americas carried many diseases with them that affected the Native Americans
drastically. Some of the diseases that were brought by the Europeans were influenza, smallpox, and

Summary Of Under The Influence Scott Sanders
Reading Response Under the Influence
Under the Influence by Scott Russell Sanders was a gripping story about a family and child that
had to keep a dark secret that their father was an alcoholic. Sanders opens his story by saying,
My father drank as a gasp for breath, as a starving dog gobbles food compulsively, secretly, in
pain and trembling . Pg. 60 When I read those words my stomach turned. It made me think about
my ex husband, he drank the same exact way. I felt the same way Sanders felt, that I had to keep
this dark secret from my family and friends. Sanders went into detail how they would never know
what person would come home from work. Would it be there loving father who was attentive, who

son that his father started drinking again. Sanders decided to visit his parents with his family.
When they pulled up he noticed his father was sleeping in the hammock in the middle of the day.
He knew right then and there that his father was drinking again because he would only sleep
during the day if he was drunk. He did not need his mother to tell him that he was drunk, he
could smell it, see it in his eyes, he could hear it in his speech. His wife and daughter asked him
what was wrong and that moment he had to admit to his wife for the first time, that his father is an

Love In Love, My Love For Basketball
Hello, my name is Tamara, and I m in love with this sport. I m 18 years old, a senior in high
school. I m a sprinter in the 100 200m 400m events. It may not be much, but I just thought I d
share my story and my dreams simply because I enjoy doing so. It all started in eighth grade, I
was 15. I never had any experience with sports whatsoever except for basketball earlier that year,
and honestly had no idea what I was doing. I felt I had no physical ability and had low self
esteem when it came to my athletic ability. I was 4 6 and still managed to get on picked for the
team for basketball, though probably being one of the shortest people in the group. Basketball
has been a sport I ve always liked, and realizing how hard it really was to actually play was a hard
pill for me to swallow. During the period of the season, I spent the time in basketball off season
to practice on what needed to know and what can help me during next season. After the
basketball season ended, our head coach called us all to the gym, and began telling us it was
time for a new sport; Track and Field. she told us it was for the best of the best. We went outside
and got all of our times. Being inexperienced, I was wearing casual high top reeboks that were
extremely heavy. I did well. The next day, my friend encouraged me to try some old shoes she
had, emphasizing how light they were. The time we needed to make to be considered for the team
was 15 seconds on the 100m (keep

  • 2. Dating and Marriage in Japan Essay Japan Dating Marriage Customs Project Love is in the air. Although this may sound like a cliche it is true. Love is prevalent in every society all around the world. The feelings associated with love may be the same all over, but how love is approached can vary. Dating and marriage customs are different from country to country; Japan, in particular has very unique dating and marriage procedures. Japan is a located in Southeastern Asia. The Japanese tend to share some very different ideas concerning dating and marriage. However, some of our beliefs and morals have spread into the culture of the Japanese. Nevertheless, Japan holds strong to their roots and their unique culture. Similarly, we tend to narrow our beliefs on their ideas as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In general, a Japanese person will live with their parents until they are officially married, this also means during the dating process. This is different from the more western tradition of moving in once the relationship is getting serious. The Japanese refrain from moving in with each other to prevent the couple from having sex before they are married. However, this doesn t prevent sexual activity during the relationship. The couple could go to love hotels, karaoke booths, the backs of cars, and public parks. This isn t a taboo topic, but it isn t openly discussed either. Japanese people also stay with their parents until marriage to motivate themselves to get married at some point in their lives, rather than live with their parents for the rest of their days. Additionally, if one lives with their parents for too long and the parents are not okay with this, the parents will then resort to marrying off the child. Although arranged marries aren t the tradition anymore, it is used as a last resort. But, a child can have an arranged all together. In the previous generations arranged marriages were the custom thing to have, but the recent generation has progressed, and it is now accepted to date around and pick a spouse. In Japan, there are not just certain ways are done, there s the way things are supposed to be done. Thus, culture is culture, and formalities are formalities. Their ... • 3. It s Time to Privatize Colombian’s Prisons The involvement of the private sector in the penal system, prima facie, could be seen as a rapid and low cost, high benefit solution to the most serious penal system problems such as lack of prisons spaces, poor condition within the prisons, and the state responsibilities of running prisons services adequately, by the figure of prisonprivatization. (Cavadino, M. and Dignan, J. 2007) The figure of contracting out has been well described by Cavadino and Dignan in their analysis of the prison privatization. This model involves the private sector in the penal system, by giving to it certain responsibilities, such as, auxiliary services, design and construction of prisons, basic custodial functions, or a set of above, which is named ... Firstly, a careful analysis of the fact that the private sector, management of prisons could be seen, just as a business, where everything is looking for the most part a financial item, so that, may generated danger of lack accountability and transparency in the delivery of punishment to the prisoner. Therefore it is very important in this point, the labour of the state as a controller and overseer, supervising that the contractor fulfils its obligations in an appropriate and transparent manner. Second, analysis of competition between public and private sectors in terms of provision of services in the search for low cost and high benefit as part of the delivery of the sentence, Logan, C. argues that they face the same problems, and for that reason are in the ability to compete. it is primarily because they are prisons, not because they are contractual, that private prison face challenges of authority, legitimacy, procedural justice, accountability, liability, cost, security, safety, corruptibility, and so on. Because they face no problems that are both unique and insurmountable, private prisons should be allowed to compete (and cooperate) with government agencies so that we can discover how best to run prisons that are safe, secure, humane, efficient and just . (Logan, C. 1990) Under this approach, the competition between the two sectors can be legitimized, and beneficiaries to improve impressments, under the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Comparing Two Adverts Smoking has a dramatic impact on many Victorians. Two ads that are trying to address the issue are Vic Health Will your kids go through the agony and Quit Line s Should have been there . They are trying to stop parents smoking and position them to quit for their kids. Quit Line is an organisation that has been running since early 1970. Vic health on the other hand has been running since 1987. The contention of Should have been there is for the parents to stop smokingso they do not miss out on things with their kids. The intention is to stop smoking so the viewers can spend as much time as possible with their kids. Whereas the contention of Will your kids go through the agony is to get the audience to stop and think about their kids and how will they go if the viewer passes away from smoking the intention is for the audience to stop smoking so for the kids sake.... They both use music to make the audience feel what they are going through. When these two ads use sad music, it is trying to make the audience s emotions come into play so that they feel as though they are in that situation and they are truly saddened about what is going on with that family. They both demonstrate and reinforce the fact that everyone is affected by just one person smoking in the family. The contention is very similar because they are both stating that the person will miss out on things with their kids. As One Looks Through Recent Histories Of Introduction As one looks through recent histories of the media, it quickly becomes apparent that there has been an influx of controversies regarding the freedom of the press. Considering the age of America, and the state of current technology, it is understandable why it is now reaching such discrepancies. In particular, the decisions leading up to the conviction of Theodore Kaczynski, known as the Unabomber, is one of much dispute. By taking a closer look that this case s situation, values applied, principles upheld, and loyalties owed, one might be able to have a clear understanding of what ethical decisions should have been taken in regard to the media. Combined, these two realizations opened up the door for much commentary by journalists. This situation became apparent, and while the action of publication could not be taken back, there was still significant discussion about the decision making process. Values Applied Proceeding from understanding of the situation is a close examination of the values associated with the case. As defined by Merriam Websters Dictionary, the word value is something (as a principle or quality) intrinsically valuable or desirable, (Webster). In application to the case, values can be seen by all three parties of interest(the public, the media, and the government). Clearly, the public is concerned largely about safety and the overarching goal to bring the Kaczynski to justice. Safety an be seen as the value of nonviolence which falls under the category of morals. While the public can not be assured that Kaczynski will not continue his bomb making with the publication of the manifesto, they can be reasonable assured that the bomb making will continue if it is not published. To this end, they value the preservation of life. On the other hand, the media has a different set of values. Both The Washington Post and The New York Times have the desire to be [independent] from the government, [and] from hostile groups who make threats, (Christians 55). Not every dog is a good boy and we need to also remember that these are animals who will do what they need to do in order to survive. This can mean them fighting for their life or adapting to their surroundings in order to live another day. Animals are intelligent and amazing creatures that rely on instincts as we cannot truly communicate with them. Though some breeds have gotten a bad reputation, there are organizations out there that are doing everything they can to help save innocent lives that are being ruined by bad stories. Big or small these people are putting their time and effort to inform people of their ignorance. Further spreading knowledge of this matter can help limit animals on the street and help find ones in shelters new homes. Adopting those in shelters helps by giving them a second chance at living a happy life but also allows for more room so other animals in need can move in. The overabundance of animals in shelters can be limited if people would spay and neuter their pets. By doing this it will eliminate the unexpected or unwanted pregnancies and allow for animals in the shelter to be looked at more. Not many people are aware of the closest animal shelter or the primary one that might be active in their community. This is one thing that needs to change as we make this situation more aware to the community. Having the local animal shelters more accessible as well as advertising them ... It then, shouldn t come as a surprise that the author needs to say little in order to sway an audience to his hypothesis by simply relating real world events such as rising nationalism in Russia2, Greece3 and France. One only has to look at the Anglo sphere of alliances in areas of conflict in the Middle East to find that Huntington s persuasive argument is a narrative of real world events4. Upon inspection of the food service department we have found foodborne hazard of biological, chemical, and of physical nature. The organization will note that a foodborne hazard is any biological, physical, or chemical substance that may get into foodand cause harm to individuals who eat that food (Safian, 2014). Of those found to be in the biological nature include contamination of expired poultry, beef, and eggs. Upon consumption of any of these meats by partons or patient of the facility, individuals could develop salmonellapoisoning, listeria, bacillus cereus, and norovirus which is the leading cause of acute epidemic gastroenteritisamong children under the age of 5 years and adults in the United States and in adults worldwide, accounting for an estimated 20% of episodes of acute gastroenteritis across all ages ( Foodborne Diseases and Conditions Norovirus, 2017). Disease caused by these conditions will cause vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, fever, respiratory failure, and death. Based off of the information gathered from our inspection in regards to biological foodborne hazards, the food service department will be closed until properly brought to code and that it is my recommendation that employees in this department be terminated due to the negligence found. Upon completion of the inspection of the food services department, many physical hazards have were found, some of which according to employees have not be fixed or working properly for quite sometime. There are extreme amounts of dust covering the vents which hang above the food preparation error, four light bulbs that have gone out and judging by the amount of dust on them have been out for quite sometime. Employees adhering to the dress code in which all employees working in the food service department should wear a facility approved hat or hair net. • 13. Alexander Hamilton Advantages And Disadvantages Alexander Hamilton Hamilton was man who had everything going against him since the beginning. Unlike many of the other Founding Fathers, he did not have a privileged background. Hamilton was the only founder born outside the American colonies. He was an immigrant who had many disadvantages early on. Instead of settling for an unremarkable life, he did not let them stopped his ambition. His disadvantages only fueled his ambition. He was a smart man who was always in the pursuit of honor. Always outspoken and fearless, Hamilton transformed our country. It did not took him long when he came to the colonists to make an impression. He was an advocate for revolution since the beginning and was destined to become a hero of the American Revolution. After the Revolutionary War was over, he was the most important supporter of the Constitution which he defended in the Federalist Papers. This made him key in the ratification of the Constitution. As Secretary of Treasury, he became the architect of the country s financial system. It took effort and a lot of writing but he was able to complete his very unlikely path to greatness. The life of one of the most influential individuals in American history began in 1755 on the island Nevis in the British West Indies. In this tiny tropical island in the Caribbean was where he came into this world at the very bottom of the social order. He was a bastard illegitimate, because his mother was not legally married to his father. As a result, he was prohibited from attending a Christian school, and had no rights of inheritance. When he was ten, his family moved to St. Croix, where hundreds of plantations worked by slaves produce sugar and coffee for export. His Scottish born father, James A. Hamilton, came to the West Indies with the ambition to make a fortune in the sugar trade, but was never successful. Soon after they arrive on St. Croix, his father abandoned the family. He would never see his father again. Only about two years later at the age of thirteen his mother, Rachel Faucette, died of yellow fever. Faucette s small estate went all to her first husband, Hamilton only kept the books. He loved reading and took advantage of these books and the knowledge stored in them. ... The experience on what happened to those cities and what is still happening to many of the survivors there, leads to explore what happened to America as a consequence of Hiroshima; both the bomb s existence in the world, and the United States having used it. The dropping of the bomb was born out a complex abundance of military, domestic and diplomatic pressures and concerns. The popular tradition view that dominated the 1950s... Other than this, primary and secondary enuresis are similar in terms of clinical presentations, as they show common pathogenesis. The factors implicated in the pathogenesis of enuresis include a disorder affecting arousal from sleep, nocturnal polyuria, and a reduced nocturnal bladder capacity. These factors will be discussed further on later. Requisites of controlled urination There are two main points that are considered important for ability of controlled voiding. Firstly, the sufficient production of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) , which reduces urine production at night. Moreover, one has to be able to wake up themselves when the bladder is full. Treatment such as the bedwetting alarms and DDAVP tablets are based on these factors, in order to cure and improve them. Etiology of Enuresis There are several different conditions that may precipitate secondary enuresis. First of all, cystitis and constipation are both associated with reduced functional bladder capacity which may lead to enuresis. However, parents are often unaware of these conditions in their child. A by product of a trade unions work is to influence a more equitable dispersion of wages in the economy. Approximately 93% of schools evaluated are failing in at least one area (1998 99 1). This creates problems, as teachers, under pressure to perform well, tend to teach toward the tests. Instead of having fun with their students and exploring areas related to the topic, the teacher focuses on the areas the students will be tested over. That is, their curriculum loses its wide range and tunnels towards the information covered on the tests. This tunneling tends to narrow our children s education. Studies concerning eating disorders are showing more and more frequency in younger age groups and especially in those who are athletes, diabetics, and obese adolescents (Martin Golden, 2014). This tells us that symptoms of eating disorders can be caught and treated during adolescence. Today, many schools have very little class time dedicated to educating students about healthy lifestyles. Little, to no information is given about what eating disorders are or how to avoid the development of one. If information is provided about the prevention of eating disorders, it is usually in the form of a video or discussed briefly in a textbook. Schools are not doing enough in the fight against the development of eating disorders. Many studies have shed some light on the issue of eating disorders by conducting surveys and developing new programs to use in schools. The primary prevention of eating and body image problems among young people, and in particular, adolescents, is emerging as one of the most desirable achievements in contemporary health and nutrition(O Dea J. , 2000). By: Nikhil Kassum Table of Contents: Introduction (Page 3) Body Paragraphs (Page 4) Conclusion (Page 13) Introduction: At first glance, it is understandable to assume that Fyodor Dostoevsky s The Gambler and F.Scott Fitzgerald s The Beautiful and Damned are incomparable and unrelated in every way. However, when exploring in detail the character development in each novel, an alternate verdict can be presented that shows, beyond peradventure, that both novels share similarities. Granted, The Gambler is about a tutor working for a Russian family and his evolution into a pathological gambler, where as The Beautiful and Damned is concentrated on the relationship of a wealthy young couple in the Roaring 20 s who taste the bittersweet consequences of extravagance as the book traces their mental, moral and physical disintegration. Nevertheless, both novels explore depression as a concomitant of the amalgamation between love and avarice. • 36. How Did Plato s Beliefs Contribute To The Study Of Philosophy Philosophy can be described as coming to understand through means of deep thoughts. Two famous examples of practitioners of this field include Plato and Parmenides. Though these two philosophers taught about many different things, they both taught and agreed on one thing: what it meant to be wise. Platoand Parmenides both provide an account of what it means to be wise, and the central agreement between them is that at its core, wisdom is realizing that truth lies beyond the base senses and hubris of the human body. Plato believed that wisdom consists of gaining knowledge and understanding through the forms, and by reducing dependency on the bodily senses, and the material realm that they observe. In this thought experiment, Plato described a cave, in which there were multiple prisoners, who for their entire lives have been bound and shackled in such a way that they were made to look at the wall of the cave. On this wall, several shadows of statues of animals, plants, and animals are cast by a fire behind the prisoners. These prisoners, if not told otherwise, would live their entire lives believing that the shadows were the only things in existence; not being aware that they were mere images of something which is more real. Nativists believe that people s behaviour is the result of many years of evolution and adaptation and that our individual differences stem from the genetics we inherit from our parents. An example of this nativist theory was theorized by Noam Chomsky. He proposed that all children are born with an instinct mental capacity to both produce and learn language. If people are able to inherit the ability to learn language, does this mean that other behavioural traits and abilities are also inherited? Those in favour of explaining human behaviour by way of nurture are called empiricists. These empiricists believe that the mind begins as a blank slate, which is also known as tabula rasa. This notion then explains that our experiences and memories shape who we are, how we behave, and what our knowledge is by filling the blank slate during our years of life. Albert Bandura s social learning theory is an example within the empiricist side of psychology. This theory suggested that people learn by observing the behaviour of others. In his Bobo doll experiment, it was observed that children could learn aggressive behaviour by watching adults act aggressively. Was this imitated aggressive behaviour the result of the environment children were put into, or did they have a genetic predisposition for violence and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main character that Steinbeck uses to illustrate this idea is Crooks. Crooks is the poorly treated stable buck. He is mistreated because he is black unlike the ranchers who are white. He is segregated and forced to sleep in the stable with the horses because of something that is out of his control. Something that also makes him who he is as a person. Failure to work toward the Euro American beauty ideal can result in such consequences as the loss of a job. For example, some African American women have lost their jobs due to their hairstyle preference, which was deemed too ethnic. The 1981 case of Rogers v. American Airlines, upheld the right of employers to prohibit the wearing of braided hairstyles in the workplace (Caldwell 2000, 276) (Patton). Racial marginalization has been ever present for years after years after years. We have tried to fix it a couple of times but every time white supremacy remains. One way that we as a nation tried to rid the world of racial discrimination was by the black is beautiful movement. What this social movement did with slogans such as Black is Beautiful was work to intervene in and alter those racist stereotypes that had always insisted black was ugly, monstrous, undesirable (1995, 120) (Patton). Our efforts as a nation to end the marginalization of race amongst both men and women have fallen apart every time, but now as Steinbeck and Patton have both illustrated it is time to make a change that will last for good. Early childhood abuse and the effects on emotional development Abstract The present research is aimed at providing an account of early childhood abuse and its effects on further emotional development. A first focus falls on outlining the psychological stages of emotional development and the notion of emotional response, followed by a thorough analysis of the child abuse spectrum together with effects, both early and belated, of general and most notably socio emotional nature. Firstly, the meaning of emotional regulation and Erik Erikson s theory of eight stages of development are depicted, with special emphasis on early childhood. This is done for the purpose of underlining the importance of regular emotional development as opposed to one impaired by abuse. Secondly, stress falls on describing and classifying child abuse and its prevalence in children under six years of age. After a brief outline of the areas in which a victim is challenged, focus shifts onward to specific emotional and social drawbacks that ensue. A more in depth account of this matter follows, enlisting Alan Schore s right brain correlations, an analysis based on the phenomenon of dissociation, and other probable prospects for the victim. The conclusions venture a realistic overview on the aspect of early childhood abuse and its outcomes. Development of a person throughout his or her whole lifetime can be seen either as a continuous process or as a final status to be attained. Psychologists agree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When looking back before the mistake, it seems a lot better than it does now. I have experienced an instance similar to the one described. It was during the summer of 2016, and I was going through a state of boredom. I had the mindset that anything is better than the feeling of boredom, even pain. There was a week, during the summer in particular, when my thoughts and mindset really affected me. I felt like I was wasting my life by not doing things with my time. I know this is a drastic response to a couple weeks of boredom; however, I tried to spend time with my best friend, but she was busy working and our plans always seemed to fall through. All I wanted was to be alone to sulk about my boring and uneventful life. I found the perfect spot to do just that; it was the roof of my house. There was a different atmosphere when I sat on the roof; I felt truly alone with my thoughts. I visited this spot multiple times during the week when life seemed too heavy to hold. Contrary to popular belief, gender and anatomical sex refer to two distinct and separate constructs as each develops at different times and in different parts of the body. John Money coined the phenomenon that codes for masculinity or femininity as Gendermaps (1). At a very early age and through an interaction of both nature and nurture, this gendermap imprint is established. What makes gender identification and sex so frequently parallel to each other is that gendermap evolvement is notably also induced by hormones that emanate from the developing fetus (1). Behavioral Differences: Though there are many similarities in the cognitive abilities of men and women, there are also discernible differences. For the most part, the behavioral differences between the intellectual capacities of the sexes have to do more with patterns of ability than the actual intellectual capacity (3). For one, attention and perception differ early on. Baby girls have been noted to gaze longer at objects than baby boys. Later they rely on landmarks and memory for guidance. Boys on the other hand, have a better visual spatial ability such as aiming at stationary or moving targets and detecting minor movements in their visual fields more easily.
