The objective of this experiment was to test the effects of bacteria using a treated hand and an
unwashed hand. Two plates of agar and a hand is used to retrieve the bacteria and then placed in a
temperature where they can survive. Different types of bacteria are affected by the environment that
slow down or increase the growth of these prokaryotes. When testing this certain type of bacteria the
warm temperature caused it to grow exceptionally fast comparted to the room temperature. Bacteria

The data provided by the table supports the hypothesis; therefore the hypothesis can be accepted. The
hypothesis states that the untreated hand is the one that contained larger amount of bacteria grown.
The reason this is true is because bacteria can be found in environments that are unclean or untreated.
In addition, agar is made from subunits of galactose that contain cell walls from other species such as
the red algae. For this reason the agar plate is commonly used for culturing bacteria is since the
bacteria doesn t eat up the plate instead they grow rapidly on there. The table reflects the results of the
class reinforcing the theory that a treated hand will contain less bacteria than that of an unwashed
hand. A few numbers collected proved the opposite where the treated had more bacteria than the
unwashed hand. Although most of the data correlated to the hypothesis, some were not because of
many unknown factors such as not swiping correctly, or the student swiped too fast not leaving behind
enough bacteria to be delivered to the agar plate or during the hand washing there was not specific
way of washing them. When I plugged in my data the results did not match with the majority of the
class because there were very few bacteria colonies in my untreated and many more on the treated
hand; again, there are many reasons why the experiment did not turn out the way the hypothesis was

medieval England and the notion of masculinity in Canterbury Tales.
The medieval concept of maleness was heavily influenced by the writings of the classical period. The
physiological and other medical theories that constituted this concept were not restricted to the domain
of medicine. They were supported by the religious doctrines. All of these rhetorics were based on a
common assumption that men are physically, morally, and intellectually superior to women. A key
component that defined maleness was virility. Men were charged with the duty of taking care of
women s health by regularly performing sexual intercourse so that their uterus did not dry up and she
remained fertile. So important was this trait to the idea of masculinity that it was considered as a valid
reason for divorce. This caused a woman s chastity to be inextricably linked with her husband s honor.
Adulterous behavior on the wife s part was considered to be a sign of weakness in a man. A
disobedient daughter also tainted a father s honor and diminished his masculinity. A consequence of
