Compressions In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales to communicate moral lessons of his time that still
influence society today. The Canterbury Tales is a story of a pilgrimage of twenty nine characters to
the Canterbury Cathedral. On the way, each character had to tell two tales as well as two on the way
home. These tales provided entertainment for the characters on their trip. The tales are told by the
narrator, and his viewpoints on the characters reflect Chaucer s opinions towards the characters. The
tales that each character tells are each unique to each person, but through analyzing them further it is
seen that the tales share many similarities. In both tales, the main character has a different outer
impression which hides the Pardoner s and the Wife of Bath s true inner characteristics from society.
Chaucer reveals their inner characteristics through the characters tales and how they present them. In
the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer conveys a theme that although individuals set first impressions based
on appearance, the reality of their true character is often masked by how they appear.
The general and character prologue in The Canterbury Tales gives initial physical descriptions of the
Wife of Bath and the Pardoner which helps reinforce the theme that appearance often masks reality. In
the general prologue of the Wife of Bath, she is described at first as somdel deef which gives her a
negative outer appearance which follows her throughout her description as an attractive and

What Are The Worst Conditions During The French Revolution
To begin, during the French Revolution the peasants lived under the worst conditions. Peasants
formed the largest group within the third estate, more than 80% of 26 million people in France. The
poor had no part or say the decisions that the government would make. Peasants and the rest of the
third estate were expected to pay an enormous amount of taxes, that the second and first estate did not
have to pay. For example, there was bad weather around 1780 caused a widespread of crop failures,
resulting in a shortage of grain. That lead to the doubled price of bread, peasants could not afford to
purchase the bread because of the outrageous amount of taxes that they had to pay, this lead to many
people in the third estate facing starvation. Not only was this unfair for the peasants, it made them
become outraged, and lead them to the beginning of the Great Fear. To continue, the Great Fear was a
wave of senseless panic that swept through france. Rumors circled that nobles were hiring outlaws to
terrorize the peasants. The peasants have already been through enough with their horrible ruler, and
their queen they soon became the outlaws themselves. The peasants armed themselves with pitchforks,

lead to the catholic church losing both its lands and political independence. Proceeds from the church
land sale helped pay off france s huge debt thanks to the king. The assembly decisions upset the

Chaucer Satire Analysis
Satirical Influence Within The Friar s Tale Geoffrey Chaucer is widely recognized as one of the
greatest English poets of the Middle Ages. As a poet, Chaucer used satire in his work. Chaucer s
acclaimed anthology, The Canterbury Tales, was written to execute change in society by expressing
his enthralling views on the diversification of social classes with the powerful utilization of satire. The
Friar s Tale is one of the twenty four stories in the piece; it tells the narrative of a corrupt summoner
that befriends a disguised bailiff, who is truthfully the Devil ( The Friar s Tale ). The summoner is
satiric because he is derided with the characteristics of greed, dishonesty, and manipulation. Because
Chaucer wanted to express his opinion without arousing trouble, he incorporated The Friar s Tale in
his work and utilized satire throughout his tale to ridicule the corruption and show foolishness in the
summoner in addition to the effect of social change. Satire is a literary device used in The Friar s Tale
. The use of satire greatly impacts the purpose of Geoffrey Chaucer s famous anthology and the
motivation behind why he composed it. Satire is a technique that uses humor, irony, sarcasm,
exaggeration, and mockery to expose human vices and follies (Mazzei). Therefore, it is prominent to
understand that Chaucer used satire to negatively represent summoners amid the Middle Age time
period. The purpose behind The Friar s Tale was to ultimately make improvement in society. By doing
so, numerous satirical writers, like Chaucer, seeked to enhance humanity and furthermore encouraged
the people they condemned to overcome their flaws (Mazzei).
The corruption of the summoner is displayed in a mocking way when he was willing to take from the
uneducated through greed. The friar describes this by offering the reader background information on
the summoner before he started telling his tale. He did not have to show a warrant when he chose to
make things hot for some obscure, uneducated sot; for he could summon under threat of curse and
they were glad enough to fill his purse (Chaucer 294 295). Thus, the reader can depict the summoner
summoned only for his own financial benefits in addition to his

Analysis Of Amanda Lohrey s Vertigo
Through distinctive images composers develop interest, drawing the responder in and thus providing
insight into the experiences of others. This is demonstrated in Amanda Lohrey s novella Vertigo as
Luke and Anna find themselves in a new and disorientating environment as they attempt to build a
new life and in the The Red Tree composed by Shaun Tan, through the nameless girl s journey as she
attempts to find herself and her place in the world. Meaning created by distinctive images creates
interest thus permitting the responder to gain a greater understanding on how the experiences help
shape one s self.
Distinctive visuals allow us to view how negative experiences can act as a catalyst in ones search for a
better life. Luke and Anna s bleak, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite an expanded outlook on the world, Luke and Anna find themselves in a place of vertigo as
they struggle to come to terms with the harsh world that is Garra Nulla. The metaphor some days she
feels like a fly caught in an invisible web establishes a visual of one who is confined by their negative
experiences, unable to escape, whereas the description of an invisible web depicts an image of an
unexpected challenge that has impacted on Anna s initially idealistic view of country living. However,
despite the couple s dislocation and the destructive yet regenerative bushfires an overall feeling of
hope at the end of the novella is reassuring. Lohrey delineates this through the symbolisation of the
black swans at the closing stage of the novella. Look , she says, the swans are back. Representing a
return to normality in their world as the re emergence of the swans metaphorically represents the
return of hope. The omniscient narrator reveals Anna s inner dialogue Ah, she says so you are leaving
us. So you are on your way at last. But it s okay, it s alright; yes, she thinks, I am ready for this...
displaying that they are finally able to attain comfort over the grief of losing their son. Despite Anna s
and Luke s negative experiences, the responder attains a feeling of reassurance as through the
distinctive images created we observe a return to normality and ultimately a positive feeling of

Comparing The Seneca Falls Convention And The Declaration...
Throughout history, courageous people have stood up and worked hard to bring people together and
make change. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott are the two women who were brave enough
to stand up in front of the crowd and fight for what they believed in. By holding the Seneca Falls
Convention and drafting the Declaration of Sentiments they highlighted the issues that needed to
change. This is recognized as the beginning of the women s rights movement.
The early 19th century in the United States was a period of many social upheavals and reforms
including women s rights. The women s rights movement in the United States began with a
convention held at the Wesleyan Church chapel located in Seneca Falls, New York, which became
known as the Seneca Falls Convention. Approximately 200 people, men and women, attended; many
of them were already activists in various movements. During the convention the Declaration of
Sentiments and Resolutions was created and presented. This document defined the rights that both
men and women should have. This eventually led to women s right to vote, own property and have
independent lives. The Seneca Falls Convention was a monumental event that resulted in a movement
that truly changed the idea of women being less equal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dream Interpretation Research Paper
Dream interpretation is an old tradition that dates back at least as far as Biblical times. Perhaps the
most famous instance of dream interpretation is where the Pharaoh tells David his dreams about seven
skinny sheep eating seven fat sheep and seven skinny ears of corn eating seven fat ears of corn. David
interpreted this to mean seven years of bumper crops followed by seven years of poor crops. With
proper planning, this allowed the Pharaoh to protect his people from potential famine during the
coming lean years.
Dreams can be a means to tap into subconscious thought processes and tell us what we know that we
don t even consciously realize that we know. But we are also more psychically sensitive when we
sleep. So our dreams can contain extra sensory information that is unavailable to most people when
they are awake. Most premonitions of the future actually occur in dream form, not in waking visions.
The vast majority of the time, dreams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you read your written notes out loud, you may find that the dreams are like pictures of common
expressions. This may be something you do not notice in the images or if you read the words silently
to yourself. It may only become apparent when you speak it out loud and hear the homonyms and
common phrases, such as the expression of something bugging me to express something bothering
you or being stabbed in the back to express a feeling of betrayal and so forth.
Especially at first, or when you are going through a particularly stressful time when the stakes are high
for you, it can help to run your dreams past someone else, preferably someone knowledgeable about
dream interpretation. They can help you sort out the most likely meaning. Sometimes, dream
meanings can be counterintuitive or people can read in either what they would like to hear or perhaps
what they most fear instead of what is really there. An objective listener can help you avoid such

For This Project, I Worked With Brandon Bowers To Begin
For this project, I worked with Brandon Bowers to begin a donation food drive for the local domestic
violence and sexual assault shelter in Murfreesboro, the Bernard House. We discussed the project and
picked the Bernard House in late March. When I called, they said that they always needed
nonperishable food items, and there was a list of items they were asking for during an Easter food
drive that we used in our flyers. On April 5th, I got in contact with a local grocery store and picked up
boxes for us to put all of the nonperishable food in. On April 9th, I decorated all of the boxes and
made them visible and more appealing, in hopes that more people would donate, with a flyer that
Brandon made placed on each of them. Brandon and I then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

So, when Brandon came to me with the idea of doing a donation drive, I thought it would be a good
way of helping women outside of volunteering at an organization. I wanted to do something with a
local group, and after seeing the Vagina Monologues this semester and hearing the monologues about
sexual assault and intimate partner violence, I thought that helping women who have been victims of
such violence would be very important work. I found the Bernard House, which is very close to
campus, and got in contact with them. This project has elicited a mix of happiness and frustration. It
made me really happy when people were receptive to what we were trying to do. Having professors
around campus be very supportive and encouraging when we asked to place boxes in their buildings,
as well as the student support we received as we passed out flyers, explained the project, and asked for
donations, was very rewarding. On occasion, students would tell us how much they appreciated our
project because it was for such a good cause, and many students donated money, which I was not
expecting because of the general lack of cash that college students carry around with them. I feel very
passionate about helping these women, and I want this donation drive to be very helpful for the
shelter. So, when people showed the same passion for the cause, it was very driving and affirming.
However, there were times when

Roman Artists And His Influence On The Public s Opinion...
From 255 BC to 14 AD, Roman artists designed plays, poetry and sculpture with the intention to alter
the public s opinion on prominent figures and political issues of their time. Poetry and sculpture
altered Augustus s image positively. However, the reputations of political figures such as Caesar,
Pompey, and Mamurra were hammered through poetry. Plautus also brings to light the aggressive
nature and negative qualities of powerful figures.
Statues were not the only way that Augustus s image was promoted; Poetry was a prominent form of
literary work at the time and served to manipulate people s perspective on political figures. After

The line, Caesar Augustus, descended from God, who again shall a golden Age in Latium found is a
clear example of how the poem serves as propaganda. By saying that Augustus is descended from God
Vergil implies that Augustus is superior to other rulers because he has the gods on his side. Augustus s
descent from gods also implies that he had more ability to allow Rome to prosper, since he had the
gods on his side. Augustus s hope for the future is revealed when Vergil writes, Who again shall a
golden age in Latium found . This line implies that with Augustus as ruler Rome will prosper, and
thrive, culture will flourish, and a new golden age will emerge ((H) Historical Context for The Aeneid
by Virgil, May 12, 2015).
Poetry was also used to negatively impact the view of political figures; Catullus, another Roman poet
who primarily focused on criticizing the triumvirate intentions and the interests of those associated
with them. The triumvirate was composed of Pompey, Caesar, and Crassus; the three men worked in a
secret alliance to help one another further their careers, and collectively took control part of the
Roman government. When Julius Caesar was coming to power Catullus, a prominent poet in Rome.
Catullus s poetry has a rebellious, expressive tone to it. He was a well read poet with wit and passion

Diversity In Australia
Is Australian casting diverse enough?
Australia is a very diverse, multi cultural nation with the majority of the population having migrated
from Asia, Africa and Europe. Almost every single home in Australia has a television and almost
every single Australian watches free to air television daily.
Walking down the street, you are likely to encounter people of all colours and sexualities. Because of
Australia s incredible multi culturalism and growing LGBTQIA community, you would expect to see
the same mixture of different ethnicities and sexualities on mainstream television, but we don t.

In the early 1990s, the Communication Law Centre and the Media Entertainment and Arts Allegiance
aka Actors Equity (MEAAA), with some assistance from the Office of Multicultural Affairs began a
campaign to address what they felt was poor record of achievement when it came to the proper
portrayal of cultural diversity in popular television drama. This came after research into the
representation of non English speaking people in Australian television drama. At that time, it was
estimated that less than 2% of available roles were given to performers of culturally diverse
backgrounds and there were no continuing or recurring roles for indigenous performers (May, 2001).
Australian TV networks are failing to represent the people who make up the majority of this country s
population; it being one of the most culturally diverse countries on the planet. One of the main
excuses given by producers and directors when asked why they don t cast ethnic/LGBTQIA actors is
that there are no actors from those two communities who want the job. That is a lie. If you go to any
Performing Arts schools or centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or all of Australia, you will find
actors of colour as well as LGBTQIA actors waiting for a chance to be cast in a good role, or any role
available. Another excuse that is regularly given out is that they would not know what to do with such
characters. They would not know how to properly

McMurphy, symbolically a Christ figure in this section, acts as a unifying force among the patients as

section of the novel, McMurphy employs yet another scheme against Nurse Ratched, this time to leave

Nurse Ratched s wishes, sets up what is to come in terms of unification among the patients. On the

Compare And Contrast Virginia And Massachusetts Bay Colonies
English colonization of the New World began in the late 16th century with several unsuccessful
attempts. However, this changed with the settlement of Jamestown, and later with the settlement of
Massachusetts Bay. Despite these settlements having similarities, they were fundamentally different in
most respects. From the areas where they settled, the reasoning behind each settlement, their
development, and the various problems and conflicts that arose in each. A uniqueness can be seen
between Virginia and Massachusetts Bay settlements beginning with the history of each.
The history of these two settlements begins in the early 17th century when King James I issued a
charter between two rival groups of merchants, the London Company (later renamed the Virginia
Company) whose interests were in colonizing Virginia, and the Plymouth Company who had interests
further north (Brinkley, 23). The charter gave the London Company exclusive rights to colonize the
south, and the Plymouth Company received the same rights for the north (Brinkley, 23 24). It is
through the efforts of these companies that the first permanent English colonies would be established
(Brinkley, 24).
Once the charter had been issued the London Company quickly began to set up an expedition for the
colonization of Virginia, and on December 6, 1606, 144 men aboard three ships: the Godspeed, the
Discovery, and the Susan Constant set sail for the New World (Brinkley, 26). In the spring of 1607, the

Women s Role In Japanese History
Throughout the early history of Japan, the place and roles of women have inconsistencies due to the
several religious influences of the time period. During the early parts of Japan s history, views of
women have gone through many progressions and regressions. With the integration of Shinto and
Buddhism, the female identity was turned into a contradiction. The significant roles of Japanese
women in a deep matriarchal society shifted to a reluctant acceptance of confinement, as history
progresses.
In the early stages of Japan s history, women played an integral part in Shinto religion. Beginning in
the Jōmon period, the importance of women was quickly highlighted through the founding of female
clay fertility figurines. These clay figurines could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beginning with the Nara period, female monks were included in the temple system and were given
increased roles in the priestly functions similar to those of their male peers (Ambros 55). Japanese
women were able to participate in Buddhist traditions in many ways. Women were able to become
nuns and even significant female monarchs played a role in spreading Buddhism throughout Japan.
The inclusion of women is also seen in several important Buddhist texts, such as the Lotus Sutra,
which assured women of their potential for Buddhahood despite recognizing the physical limitations
of their body (Ambros 50). However, during the later Heian period, the positive views of women in
religion began to decline significantly because of anti feminine Buddhist doctrines. The decline of
women in religion is connected with the Five Obstructions, which shows the need for female to male
transformation in order to reach nirvana (Ambros 55), and Three Obediences, which depicts the
pollution associated with female reproduction (Ambros 55), in Buddhism. An example of these two
doctrines includes the story of The Dragon King s Daughter. The story of the Dragon King s Daughter
is located in the Lotus Sutra, a key text in Mahayana Buddhism. The story of the dragon king s
daughter is significant as the story reveals that women can only reach Buddhahood through the
transformation into male bodies (Ueki 279). This story undermines the general inclusiveness of
Buddhism, which was preached during the Nara period. Also, later in the Heian period, the marital
rules deeply added to the exclusion of women in Japanese society. For example, The Tale of Genji, a
romanticized Heian story, glorified forcible sexual violation, meaning rape (Ambros 57) and
consensual sexual violation, meaning adultery (Ambros 57). Ultimately, this story normalizes and
justifies polygyny and male dominance in marriage. The

Homeland Security Information Systems Analysis
As stated in the first chapter of the textbook, there are numerous ways homeland security goes about
informing and warning United States citizens on current or future catastrophes and hazards. One way
for people to stay informed on the current risk levels of terrorist attacks is through the Homeland
Security Advisory System, now known as the National Terrorism Advisory System. Sadly, the
information given to the public on these systems can sometimes be difficult for people to locate. As a
result, government agencies have teamed up with cell phone companies to provide an alternative, and
more accessible way to keep the public informed of not just current risks of terrorism but also useful

Tissues Specific Roles for Two GRP170 Chaperones Loci in Protein Folding in Caenorhabditis

OVERVIEW
The cellular functions of chaperones are vital to all living organisms from prokaryotes to man.
Molecular chaperones are stress proteins that are involved in inhibition of protein aggregation and that
participate in numerous normal cellular processes such as protein folding, assembly, and
transportation of secretory or transmembrane proteins. The largest chaperone is the glucose regulated
protein 170 (Grp170). It it evolutionarily related to the hsp70 superfamily and resides in the
endoplasmic reticulum (ER). It is induced by stress conditions such as hypoxia, ischaemia, glucose
deprivation, reductive reagents, anoxia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One limitation of the early work on UPR induction is that it analyzed who worm gene expression. It
did not look to see if the response was limited to particular tissues or if GRP170 is essential to normal
protein folding throughout the nematode. The goal of my research is to investigate the tissue
specificity of the role of GRP170a and GRP170b in protein folding. To study the cell specificity of
UPR, I will use a reporter transgene that expresses GFP in cells undergoing UPR. I will conduct
genetic crosses to introduce this transgene into a genetic background deficient for GRP170a or
GRP170b. I will use fluorescence microscopy to identify which cells in the GRP170 deficient worms
are undergoing UPR. That will indicate which cells GRP170 s are essential for normal protein folding.
Learning which cells depend on GRP170 will provide insight into the role of GRP170 of the
multicellular animals.

The Property Assessment System
October, 2016 A Response to the Lake County Illinois Study on the Centralization of the Property
Assessment System Prepared by the Lake County Township Assessors This report is intended for
informational purposes only. This report is not an endorsement of any alternative form of assessment
administration in Lake County. This report is also not intended to identify every operational detail of
the options described within. Any move to implement or further explore options will require additional
research. Introduction Lake County conducted an in house study from March, 2014 to April, 2015 on
the centralization of the property assessment system in Lake County Illinois. The sole
recommendation of Lake County was to eliminate local Township Assessors and consolidate all
assessment functions to Lake County. They proposed moving from the current system of 18 locally
elected Township Assessors with an appointed CCAO, to a centralized system of one appointed
county assessor who controlled the whole assessment process. The study estimated that this
centralized assessment process would result in a reduction of $4.4 million dollars in overall county
wide costs. This reduction in costs would eliminate the 18 local assessment offices spread throughout
Lake County and only provided for one assessment office in Waukegan. The initial study by Lake
County contained factual errors, an underrepresentation of the personnel required and acknowledged
that taxpayer access would

Understanding Apple SWOT Analysis Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) now has the largest market cap of
any company. It zoomed past Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM) and never looked back. It is one of the
most popular and recognized brands worldwide, although it seems to draw as much hatred from some
as love from others. So let s take a look at the iconic brand here a bit removed from the daily
headlines. I. Strengths 1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows for a level of integration that otherwise is not available. It also allows for greatly
simplified quality assurance testing. In the end, Apple has been able to deliver an overall much more
solid, robust experience to the end users. This is prized by users who do not want to spend time fixing
their computer. I used to say that the problem with Apple was that they did not have an open system,
and that the problem with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is that they did. In smartphones tablets,
Research in Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) is following this path with Blackberry 10. 6 One less
understood characteristic of Apple is the ability to wait. I think this is a lesson learned from the
Newton project one of the original PDAs with handwriting input, it failed in part because it was too
far ahead of its time, That is, it was a great idea (as Palm was to prove), but the hardware technology
of the time was not up to the task. Apple can work on an idea for years, but wait for the moment in
time when it can introduce a new product with sufficient power and style to carry off the new
functionality in a form meets their standards. Thus, the iPhone waited for the development of LTE
chips that met Apples specifications, particularly in terms of power consumption. They would wait

Lies Exposed Into Reality In Umberto Eco s Physo
One of the recurring themes in the story, although a perverse notion, is how lies could somehow
actually be turned into reality. Baudolino explains, When you say something you ve imagined, and
others then say that s exactly how it is, you end up believing it yourself. Abdul, one of Baudolino s
friends expressed a similar whim, The vision was an illusion, but what I now felt inside was not; it
was true desire. When you feel it, it s not an illusion. It s real (Eco, 2002). Umberto Eco suggests that
fabricated lies are able to shape reality; even the liar convinces himself/herself that those lies are the
truth.
In reality, almost everyone tells lies, basically to benefit one s own interests. However, in trying so
hard to convince others, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lies also cover the truth, that s why these cause trouble to many people. In Baudolino s first attempt to
save the Alessandrians, he conspired the appearance of Saint Peter as though protecting their
newfound city: to prevent the attack. However, one of the men realizing that it must have been one of
Baudolino s tricks, wreaked havoc and confusion among the soldiers and the citizens of the city.
Instead of resolving the conflict, Baudolino felt as though he merely worsened it; because of him,
innocent and brave lives were lost. The gravest consequence of one of his lies was of concealing his
adoptive father s death. Since Baudolino and his friends were assigned to guard the emperor, they
feared that they would be falsely accused of having murdered the emperor. To disguise that, they made
it seem as though Frederick had died drowning in the river. At the end of the novel, Baudolino realized
that his beloved father really wasn t murdered in the room merely unconscious. This meant that the
emperor Frederick really died of drowning and could have lived had they told the

The Sinking Of The Titanic Essay
On April 10, 1912, the Titanic, largest ship afloat, left Southampton, England on her maiden voyage to
New York City. (The sinking of the Titanic) There were 2,200 women, men, children, and work crew
members that made the voyage over to the United States, but little did they know that only 705 would
actually step foot on United States territory. This tragedy struck over 100 years ago, but is still
constantly brought up by many people to this day. But one reason that it s still brought up is because
of the award winning movie, but how does the sinking of the Titanic reflect its time period? The only
things that allow us to know how it affected the time period is, how the ship was made, there clothing,
different level of people class, and lastly how the ship was ran. What made us understand this tragic
event much better though, well the movie that won a ton of academy awards helped breakdown this
historical event. The award winning movie was produced in December of 1997. They started
producing the movie in 1995, it cost over $200 million to create the movie. They recreated the ship in
Baja, California, they used computers and scaled models to recreate the ship and the sinking of the
ship. The main actors of the movie were Jack Dawson (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), Rose Dewitt
Bukater (played by Kate Winslet). An interesting fact about the movie is, the two main characters
weren t actually passengers on the ship, the names were just made up for the movie. However, they

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Pizza Stoness
When you come across the product, Cast Elegance, your mind will not quickly race into pizza or
cooking, not even a meal to be precise. Consequently, not many people find any need of grilling or
baking their own pizza. A quality restaurant pizza with a quick delivery option is often the best
solution, especially when you are in a rush but from time to time, you might have some friends or
family coming over just to hang out, so instead of ordering some pizza, it would be a better idea to
bake it by yourself or grill them together as you interact and chat away your free time.
A pizza stone is the ultimate grilling accessory that will enable you to produce the perfect homemade
pizza. From what we have used and what we know, there are numerous different pizza stones, made
from different materials, by different companies. This does not have to make your choice hard.

Article: Sometimes sticking to one s moral and ethical convictions is more important than even your
job. After two camp employees decided to try to save an injured bald eagle, they were reprimanded
and fired for breaking a federal law.
In search of an eagle
When Jeremy and Eliana Bookbinder, two 20 year old twins who worked at Camp Marriot for the Boy
Scouts, heard about an injured hawk on a hiking trail close to where they were working, they decided
to go check it out. Little did they know at the time that by doing so, they would be fired.
Although it was her day off, Eliana Bookbinder put on her uniform and asked her boss if she could
call the Wildlife Center of Virginia once the bird was found. She was told that he would have to check
with the Goshen superintendent. So Bookbinder headed out on her search for what she thought at the
time was a hawk. But when she finally found the injured bird, she realized it was actually a bald eagle.
Bookbinder texted her boss a photo and also called him to discuss the eagle. Instead of approval, she
was met with an order to not call the wildlife rehabilitation center, or transport it to a wildlife
veterinarian.
I pointed out that this was a massive violation of the Scout law, Bookbinder told the Washington Post.

Anatomy of Criticism Essay example
Anatomy of Criticism Introduction
In his Anatomy of Criticism, Northrop Frye offers a complex theory that aspires to describe a unifying
system for literary criticism. It can be argued, however, that in attempting to delineate such an all
inclusive structure, Frye s system eliminates identity in literature. The present essay takes up this
argument and offers examples of how identity is precluded by Frye s system as outlined in Anatomy
of Criticism. Structure Vs. Identity
In Frye s system, the organizing principles that give literature coherence and structure are derived
from the myths of ancient Greece and the archetypal imagery found in the Bible. In his Third Essay,
Frye suggests that all literature is based on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frye completely ignores literature that is outside the Western classics; contemporary literature and
literature from the Oriental traditions, for example, remains outside Frye s scheme, and he makes no
margin whatsoever for including such writings in his theory. This rigid, inflexible system doesn t
allow for literature other than works abstracted from Frye s narrow aggregation of central myths, and
the identity of both the writer and any individual work of literature is lost in Frye s structure. The
Identity of the Reader
In addition to excluding the identity of the writer and of works of literature, Frye s literary schema
also ignores the identity of the reader. In his Polemical Introduction to the Anatomy of Criticism, Frye
argues that [literature] is a disinterested use of words: it does not address a reader directly (p4). It is
only criticism, he says, that can speak. We must dispute this, however, for surely the writer means for
his or her work to converse with the reader in some manner. Frye would remove the reader from the
experiencing of literature, but this is impossible, for there is a constant dialogue between a literary
work and one s individual experience of that work. Frye himself would seem to admit this: The
reading of literature should...step out of the talking world of criticism into the private and

Conclusion About Globalization
Globalization
Whenever I heard about the term globalization the first thing that comes in my mind is gravity. In my
humble opinion, the term globalization is just like gravity higher you go higher will be the gravity.
Same is the case with the notion of globalization as much as you can discover new facts and figures
more changes can be made. In this respect, from the current outlook of this modern world of affair, it
would not be wrong to say that globalization has become the most significant part in the lives of
human beings, as globalization has influenced nearly all facets of the contemporary world.
Globalization has approached in almost every sphere of life, from a kinder garden school to the
manufacturing to huge satellites, revolving around this earth. This is all because of the modern
advances and transformation that have been made through the technological means and scientific
revolutions.
In fact, due to the globalization, it would not be wrong to say that the world has gained a unique and
new outlook just because of the changes that have been made within the last couple of years,
especially within the field of technology. In this regard, due to the development of new found
technological advances, it has become easy for people to link with each other without any kind of
barrier and difficulty. For instance, internet has paved the way for the modern form of communication
through which people living at different places are interacting with each other without any

The For The Cultural Scavenger Hunt
For the cultural scavenger hunt, I was able to observe my doctor s office, called Doctors Family

pictures, and literature. Although I have been there a few times, it was helpful to notice small details. I
was glad that I was able to do this project, because in the future I will observe healthcare settings more
in detail. While at the doctor s office, I noticed several pictures that were displayed on a wall that

who was African American. I was the only minority in the waiting room. There was patient literature
about the prevention of diabetes, and tips to stop smoking. The patient literature was in the waiting
room on a table with a couple of magazines. The patient literature was only in English. In the waiting
room there was a shelf, which had a variety of magazines. The magazines varied from cooking, to
health. The magazines were in English, and not provided in any other languages. The signage in the
doctor s office was apparent and identifiable. I could easily identify the sign in desk, exits, and
bathrooms. Furthermore, there was a fire escape route on the wall highlighting different exits, stairs
and where you currently are. It was located in the lobby as well as the examination room. My findings
in the doctor s office were inadequate. I felt as though the lobby did not have enough pictures, as well
as diversity. It felt very plain, because the paint colors were white and blue. The picture in the lobby

How Did Samuel De Champlain Influence French Culture
The influence of French culture within Canada has a rich history that can only be attributed to one
man, Samuel de Champlain who not only shaped the history of France but of Canada as well.
Champlain was a French explorer (cartographer, geographer, etc.) who journeyed across the Atlantic
Ocean from 1603 until his death in 1635 (Ritchie, 2016; Samuel de Champlain , 2004; Wikipedia,
2016). He is often labeled as the Father of New France (or Quebec) as he sailed to Canada and was the
first man to establish a French colony there. The impact of his 1609 expedition to New France has
helped to shape the historical, scientific and cultural aspects of our society.
The timing of historical moments has always had a profound effect on the rest of what ... Show more

The 1609 expedition of Samuel de Champlain was conceived from his want to explore and colonize
Quebec, but was supported because of political and economic gains that were to be had by the French
bourgeoisie from an established fur trade. There were many arguments that broke out between the
wealthy investors of Champlain s expedition whom sought to monopolize the fur trade individually.
This led to Champlain going back to Canada to create better ties with the Aboriginal peoples of
Quebec in order to ensure that they would supply beaver pelts that he could give to his investors who
would sell them in France (Wilson, 2013; Champlain, Samuel de, 2016). This shows that while
Samuel de Champlain s expeditions were meant to focus around the colonization of eastern Canada,
many investors of his exploration just sought to gain even more power and money by monopolizing
the fur trade and becoming wealthy off of it. While the interests of the French elite were at the heart of
Champlain s expedition, this very fact was the reason that he decided to make good relations with the
native peoples of Quebec (save for the Iroquois who he not on good terms with [Monette, 2016;
Wikipedia, 2016]), as they would supply him with furs for that reason ( Champlain, Samuel de, 2016)
. While much of Champlain s 1608 expedition to Canada revolved around the political and economic
gains of his backers, it ended up causing Champlain to treat the native peoples of Canada

  • 2. Compressions In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales to communicate moral lessons of his time that still influence society today. The Canterbury Tales is a story of a pilgrimage of twenty nine characters to the Canterbury Cathedral. On the way, each character had to tell two tales as well as two on the way home. These tales provided entertainment for the characters on their trip. The tales are told by the narrator, and his viewpoints on the characters reflect Chaucer s opinions towards the characters. The tales that each character tells are each unique to each person, but through analyzing them further it is seen that the tales share many similarities. In both tales, the main character has a different outer impression which hides the Pardoner s and the Wife of Bath s true inner characteristics from society. Chaucer reveals their inner characteristics through the characters tales and how they present them. In the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer conveys a theme that although individuals set first impressions based on appearance, the reality of their true character is often masked by how they appear. The general and character prologue in The Canterbury Tales gives initial physical descriptions of the Wife of Bath and the Pardoner which helps reinforce the theme that appearance often masks reality. In the general prologue of the Wife of Bath, she is described at first as somdel deef which gives her a negative outer appearance which follows her throughout her description as an attractive and ... • 3. What Are The Worst Conditions During The French Revolution To begin, during the French Revolution the peasants lived under the worst conditions. Peasants formed the largest group within the third estate, more than 80% of 26 million people in France. The poor had no part or say the decisions that the government would make. Peasants and the rest of the third estate were expected to pay an enormous amount of taxes, that the second and first estate did not have to pay. For example, there was bad weather around 1780 caused a widespread of crop failures, resulting in a shortage of grain. That lead to the doubled price of bread, peasants could not afford to purchase the bread because of the outrageous amount of taxes that they had to pay, this lead to many people in the third estate facing starvation. Not only was this unfair for the peasants, it made them become outraged, and lead them to the beginning of the Great Fear. To continue, the Great Fear was a wave of senseless panic that swept through france. Rumors circled that nobles were hiring outlaws to terrorize the peasants. The peasants have already been through enough with their horrible ruler, and their queen they soon became the outlaws themselves. The peasants armed themselves with pitchforks, ... The heavily taxes and disconnected third estate was eager for a change throughout their community. Many of the National Assembly s early reforms focused on the church, it took over the church lands. Soon church officials and priests were to be elected and paid as state officials, which lead to the catholic church losing both its lands and political independence. Proceeds from the church land sale helped pay off france s huge debt thanks to the king. The assembly decisions upset the peasants who were devoted catholics. • 4. Chaucer Satire Analysis Satirical Influence Within The Friar s Tale Geoffrey Chaucer is widely recognized as one of the greatest English poets of the Middle Ages. As a poet, Chaucer used satire in his work. Chaucer s acclaimed anthology, The Canterbury Tales, was written to execute change in society by expressing his enthralling views on the diversification of social classes with the powerful utilization of satire. The Friar s Tale is one of the twenty four stories in the piece; it tells the narrative of a corrupt summoner that befriends a disguised bailiff, who is truthfully the Devil ( The Friar s Tale ). The summoner is satiric because he is derided with the characteristics of greed, dishonesty, and manipulation. Because Chaucer wanted to express his opinion without arousing trouble, he incorporated The Friar s Tale in his work and utilized satire throughout his tale to ridicule the corruption and show foolishness in the summoner in addition to the effect of social change. Satire is a literary device used in The Friar s Tale . The use of satire greatly impacts the purpose of Geoffrey Chaucer s famous anthology and the motivation behind why he composed it. Satire is a technique that uses humor, irony, sarcasm, exaggeration, and mockery to expose human vices and follies (Mazzei). Therefore, it is prominent to understand that Chaucer used satire to negatively represent summoners amid the Middle Age time period. The purpose behind The Friar s Tale was to ultimately make improvement in society. By doing so, numerous satirical writers, like Chaucer, seeked to enhance humanity and furthermore encouraged the people they condemned to overcome their flaws (Mazzei). The corruption of the summoner is displayed in a mocking way when he was willing to take from the uneducated through greed. The friar describes this by offering the reader background information on the summoner before he started telling his tale. He did not have to show a warrant when he chose to make things hot for some obscure, uneducated sot; for he could summon under threat of curse and they were glad enough to fill his purse (Chaucer 294 295). Thus, the reader can depict the summoner summoned only for his own financial benefits in addition to his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Analysis Of Amanda Lohrey s Vertigo Through distinctive images composers develop interest, drawing the responder in and thus providing insight into the experiences of others. This is demonstrated in Amanda Lohrey s novella Vertigo as Luke and Anna find themselves in a new and disorientating environment as they attempt to build a new life and in the The Red Tree composed by Shaun Tan, through the nameless girl s journey as she attempts to find herself and her place in the world. Meaning created by distinctive images creates interest thus permitting the responder to gain a greater understanding on how the experiences help shape one s self. Distinctive visuals allow us to view how negative experiences can act as a catalyst in ones search for a better life. Luke and Anna s bleak, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite an expanded outlook on the world, Luke and Anna find themselves in a place of vertigo as they struggle to come to terms with the harsh world that is Garra Nulla. The metaphor some days she feels like a fly caught in an invisible web establishes a visual of one who is confined by their negative experiences, unable to escape, whereas the description of an invisible web depicts an image of an unexpected challenge that has impacted on Anna s initially idealistic view of country living. However, despite the couple s dislocation and the destructive yet regenerative bushfires an overall feeling of hope at the end of the novella is reassuring. Lohrey delineates this through the symbolisation of the black swans at the closing stage of the novella. Look , she says, the swans are back. Representing a return to normality in their world as the re emergence of the swans metaphorically represents the return of hope. The omniscient narrator reveals Anna s inner dialogue Ah, she says so you are leaving us. So you are on your way at last. But it s okay, it s alright; yes, she thinks, I am ready for this... displaying that they are finally able to attain comfort over the grief of losing their son. Despite Anna s and Luke s negative experiences, the responder attains a feeling of reassurance as through the distinctive images created we observe a return to normality and ultimately a positive feeling of ... • 6. Comparing The Seneca Falls Convention And The Declaration... Throughout history, courageous people have stood up and worked hard to bring people together and make change. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott are the two women who were brave enough to stand up in front of the crowd and fight for what they believed in. By holding the Seneca Falls Convention and drafting the Declaration of Sentiments they highlighted the issues that needed to change. This is recognized as the beginning of the women s rights movement. The early 19th century in the United States was a period of many social upheavals and reforms including women s rights. The women s rights movement in the United States began with a convention held at the Wesleyan Church chapel located in Seneca Falls, New York, which became known as the Seneca Falls Convention. Approximately 200 people, men and women, attended; many of them were already activists in various movements. During the convention the Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions was created and presented. This document defined the rights that both men and women should have. This eventually led to women s right to vote, own property and have independent lives. • 8. Dream Interpretation Research Paper Dream interpretation is an old tradition that dates back at least as far as Biblical times. Perhaps the most famous instance of dream interpretation is where the Pharaoh tells David his dreams about seven skinny sheep eating seven fat sheep and seven skinny ears of corn eating seven fat ears of corn. David interpreted this to mean seven years of bumper crops followed by seven years of poor crops. With proper planning, this allowed the Pharaoh to protect his people from potential famine during the coming lean years. Dreams can be a means to tap into subconscious thought processes and tell us what we know that we don t even consciously realize that we know. But we are also more psychically sensitive when we sleep. So our dreams can contain extra sensory information that is unavailable to most people when they are awake. Most premonitions of the future actually occur in dream form, not in waking visions. The vast majority of the time, dreams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. For This Project, I Worked With Brandon Bowers To Begin For this project, I worked with Brandon Bowers to begin a donation food drive for the local domestic violence and sexual assault shelter in Murfreesboro, the Bernard House. We discussed the project and picked the Bernard House in late March. When I called, they said that they always needed nonperishable food items, and there was a list of items they were asking for during an Easter food drive that we used in our flyers. On April 5th, I got in contact with a local grocery store and picked up boxes for us to put all of the nonperishable food in. On April 9th, I decorated all of the boxes and made them visible and more appealing, in hopes that more people would donate, with a flyer that Brandon made placed on each of them. Brandon and I then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, when Brandon came to me with the idea of doing a donation drive, I thought it would be a good way of helping women outside of volunteering at an organization. I wanted to do something with a local group, and after seeing the Vagina Monologues this semester and hearing the monologues about sexual assault and intimate partner violence, I thought that helping women who have been victims of such violence would be very important work. I found the Bernard House, which is very close to campus, and got in contact with them. This project has elicited a mix of happiness and frustration. It made me really happy when people were receptive to what we were trying to do. Having professors around campus be very supportive and encouraging when we asked to place boxes in their buildings, as well as the student support we received as we passed out flyers, explained the project, and asked for donations, was very rewarding. On occasion, students would tell us how much they appreciated our project because it was for such a good cause, and many students donated money, which I was not expecting because of the general lack of cash that college students carry around with them. I feel very passionate about helping these women, and I want this donation drive to be very helpful for the shelter. So, when people showed the same passion for the cause, it was very driving and affirming. However, there were times when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Roman Artists And His Influence On The Public s Opinion... From 255 BC to 14 AD, Roman artists designed plays, poetry and sculpture with the intention to alter the public s opinion on prominent figures and political issues of their time. Poetry and sculpture altered Augustus s image positively. However, the reputations of political figures such as Caesar, Pompey, and Mamurra were hammered through poetry. Plautus also brings to light the aggressive nature and negative qualities of powerful figures. The line, Caesar Augustus, descended from God, who again shall a golden Age in Latium found is a clear example of how the poem serves as propaganda. By saying that Augustus is descended from God Vergil implies that Augustus is superior to other rulers because he has the gods on his side. Augustus s descent from gods also implies that he had more ability to allow Rome to prosper, since he had the gods on his side. Augustus s hope for the future is revealed when Vergil writes, Who again shall a golden age in Latium found . This line implies that with Augustus as ruler Rome will prosper, and thrive, culture will flourish, and a new golden age will emerge ((H) Historical Context for The Aeneid by Virgil, May 12, 2015). Poetry was also used to negatively impact the view of political figures; Catullus, another Roman poet who primarily focused on criticizing the triumvirate intentions and the interests of those associated with them. The triumvirate was composed of Pompey, Caesar, and Crassus; the three men worked in a secret alliance to help one another further their careers, and collectively took control part of the Roman government. When Julius Caesar was coming to power Catullus, a prominent poet in Rome. Australia is a very diverse, multi cultural nation with the majority of the population having migrated from Asia, Africa and Europe. Almost every single home in Australia has a television and almost every single Australian watches free to air television daily. Walking down the street, you are likely to encounter people of all colours and sexualities. Because of Australia s incredible multi culturalism and growing LGBTQIA community, you would expect to see the same mixture of different ethnicities and sexualities on mainstream television, but we don t. In the early 1990s, the Communication Law Centre and the Media Entertainment and Arts Allegiance aka Actors Equity (MEAAA), with some assistance from the Office of Multicultural Affairs began a campaign to address what they felt was poor record of achievement when it came to the proper portrayal of cultural diversity in popular television drama. This came after research into the representation of non English speaking people in Australian television drama. At that time, it was estimated that less than 2% of available roles were given to performers of culturally diverse backgrounds and there were no continuing or recurring roles for indigenous performers (May, 2001). Australian TV networks are failing to represent the people who make up the majority of this country s population; it being one of the most culturally diverse countries on the planet. One of the main excuses given by producers and directors when asked why they don t cast ethnic/LGBTQIA actors is that there are no actors from those two communities who want the job. That is a lie. If you go to any Performing Arts schools or centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or all of Australia, you will find actors of colour as well as LGBTQIA actors waiting for a chance to be cast in a good role, or any role available. However, this changed with the settlement of Jamestown, and later with the settlement of Massachusetts Bay. Despite these settlements having similarities, they were fundamentally different in most respects. From the areas where they settled, the reasoning behind each settlement, their development, and the various problems and conflicts that arose in each. A uniqueness can be seen between Virginia and Massachusetts Bay settlements beginning with the history of each. The history of these two settlements begins in the early 17th century when King James I issued a charter between two rival groups of merchants, the London Company (later renamed the Virginia Company) whose interests were in colonizing Virginia, and the Plymouth Company who had interests further north (Brinkley, 23). The charter gave the London Company exclusive rights to colonize the south, and the Plymouth Company received the same rights for the north (Brinkley, 23 24). It is through the efforts of these companies that the first permanent English colonies would be established (Brinkley, 24). Once the charter had been issued the London Company quickly began to set up an expedition for the colonization of Virginia, and on December 6, 1606, 144 men aboard three ships: the Godspeed, the Discovery, and the Susan Constant set sail for the New World (Brinkley, 26). • 16. Women s Role In Japanese History Throughout the early history of Japan, the place and roles of women have inconsistencies due to the several religious influences of the time period. During the early parts of Japan s history, views of women have gone through many progressions and regressions. With the integration of Shinto and Buddhism, the female identity was turned into a contradiction. The significant roles of Japanese women in a deep matriarchal society shifted to a reluctant acceptance of confinement, as history progresses. In the early stages of Japan s history, women played an integral part in Shinto religion. Beginning with the Nara period, female monks were included in the temple system and were given increased roles in the priestly functions similar to those of their male peers (Ambros 55). Japanese women were able to participate in Buddhist traditions in many ways. Women were able to become nuns and even significant female monarchs played a role in spreading Buddhism throughout Japan. The inclusion of women is also seen in several important Buddhist texts, such as the Lotus Sutra, which assured women of their potential for Buddhahood despite recognizing the physical limitations of their body (Ambros 50). However, during the later Heian period, the positive views of women in religion began to decline significantly because of anti feminine Buddhist doctrines. The decline of women in religion is connected with the Five Obstructions, which shows the need for female to male transformation in order to reach nirvana (Ambros 55), and Three Obediences, which depicts the pollution associated with female reproduction (Ambros 55), in Buddhism. An example of these two doctrines includes the story of The Dragon King s Daughter. The story of the Dragon King s Daughter is located in the Lotus Sutra, a key text in Mahayana Buddhism. The story of the dragon king s daughter is significant as the story reveals that women can only reach Buddhahood through the transformation into male bodies (Ueki 279). This story undermines the general inclusiveness of Buddhism, which was preached during the Nara period. Also, later in the Heian period, the marital rules deeply added to the exclusion of women in Japanese society. For example, The Tale of Genji, a romanticized Heian story, glorified forcible sexual violation, meaning rape (Ambros 57) and consensual sexual violation, meaning adultery (Ambros 57). Ultimately, this story normalizes and justifies polygyny and male dominance in marriage. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once FDA grants a Fast Track designation, it encourages the manufacturer to meet with the agency to discuss development plans and strategies before the formal submission of an NDA/BLA. The early interaction can help clarify elements of clinical study design and presentation whose absence at NDA/BLA submission could delay approval decisions. The sole recommendation of Lake County was to eliminate local Township Assessors and consolidate all assessment functions to Lake County. They proposed moving from the current system of 18 locally elected Township Assessors with an appointed CCAO, to a centralized system of one appointed county assessor who controlled the whole assessment process. The study estimated that this centralized assessment process would result in a reduction of $4.4 million dollars in overall county wide costs. It was interesting for me to notice the setting more in detail, and to observe people, pictures, and literature. Although I have been there a few times, it was helpful to notice small details. I was glad that I was able to do this project, because in the future I will observe healthcare settings more in detail. While at the doctor s office, I noticed several pictures that were displayed on a wall that included health care providers and their roles. The pictures were located in the waiting area. It was large pictures with a frame, which appeared to be about 2 feet long. The majority of the providers in the picture appeared to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From listening to the conversations that took place between the staff and patients, it seemed like the process of signing in was simple for them. The staff was mostly white except for a medical assistant who was African American. I was the only minority in the waiting room. There was patient literature about the prevention of diabetes, and tips to stop smoking. The patient literature was in the waiting room on a table with a couple of magazines. The patient literature was only in English. In the waiting room there was a shelf, which had a variety of magazines. The magazines varied from cooking, to health. The magazines were in English, and not provided in any other languages. The signage in the doctor s office was apparent and identifiable. I could easily identify the sign in desk, exits, and bathrooms. Furthermore, there was a fire escape route on the wall highlighting different exits, stairs and where you currently are. It was located in the lobby as well as the examination room. My findings in the doctor s office were inadequate. I felt as though the lobby did not have enough pictures, as well as diversity. It felt very plain, because the paint colors were white and blue. The picture in the lobby included an older man with gray hair, it made me appreciate that it was there because of ageism. As people grow older we tend to assume they do not need to work, but if they have skills I believe they should still be able ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. How Did Samuel De Champlain Influence French Culture The influence of French culture within Canada has a rich history that can only be attributed to one man, Samuel de Champlain who not only shaped the history of France but of Canada as well. Champlain was a French explorer (cartographer, geographer, etc.) who journeyed across the Atlantic Ocean from 1603 until his death in 1635 (Ritchie, 2016; Samuel de Champlain , 2004; Wikipedia, 2016). He is often labeled as the Father of New France (or Quebec) as he sailed to Canada and was the first man to establish a French colony there. The impact of his 1609 expedition to New France has helped to shape the historical, scientific and cultural aspects of our society. The timing of historical moments has always had a profound effect on the rest of what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 1609 expedition of Samuel de Champlain was conceived from his want to explore and colonize Quebec, but was supported because of political and economic gains that were to be had by the French bourgeoisie from an established fur trade. There were many arguments that broke out between the wealthy investors of Champlain s expedition whom sought to monopolize the fur trade individually. This led to Champlain going back to Canada to create better ties with the Aboriginal peoples of Quebec in order to ensure that they would supply beaver pelts that he could give to his investors who would sell them in France (Wilson, 2013; Champlain, Samuel de, 2016). This shows that while Samuel de Champlain s expeditions were meant to focus around the colonization of eastern Canada, many investors of his exploration just sought to gain even more power and money by monopolizing the fur trade and becoming wealthy off of it. While the interests of the French elite were at the heart of Champlain s expedition, this very fact was the reason that he decided to make good relations with the native peoples of Quebec (save for the Iroquois who he not on good terms with [Monette, 2016; Wikipedia, 2016]), as they would supply him with furs for that reason ( Champlain, Samuel de, 2016) . While much of Champlain s 1608 expedition to Canada revolved around the political and economic gains of his backers, it ended up causing Champlain to treat the native peoples of Canada ...
