Effects Of Amendment 2 On The State Florida
Has anyone done any research on what the effects Amendment 2 would have on the state Florida?
Well the opposition clearly did not do any research and the politicians used smooth talking fallacies
to blind side the voters. It is time to see the holes in their stance on medical marijuana.
The Smokescreen as defined by the author Joe Cardona from the Miami Herald, is the lack of
liability Amendment 2 brought to the table when it hit the polls in October. His meaning behind
this is because a medical marijuana user would not be receiving a prescription from a trained
medical physician. Instead, they would be receiving a referral for a license to receive treatment
and they would have it forever. Also as part of Joe Cardona s Smokescreen theory, because the fact
that Amendment 2 is a constitutional amendment that there would have been no way to tweak or
amended it, like a legislative law would. So regulating the consumption of medical marijuana would
be impossible. (Cardona, 2014)
Unfortunately he is not the only one to interpret Amendment 2 this way. Dr. Rafael Miguel,
director of the Sarasota Memorial Institute for Advanced Medicine s Pain Medicine Program and
representatives for Drug Free America. He states that You don t get refills, you get it forever. There
s no regulation on consumption. (Gillin, 2014)
These bold statements were completely wrong and very misinforming. The referral would also
have a date attached, so a doctor would put on the referral how long the

Arguments In Dealing With Dragons
While reading the novel, Dealing with Dragons , by Patricia C. Wrede, one could ask if
someone like Cimorene, a princess in the story, should be justified if they go against what
expectations are made of them and why that should ever be approved of. However, Cimorene
was completely justified in ignoring the social norms of her day because it is very clear that she
was never content with being a princess in that kingdom, she was only truly happy in living an
improper life away from her heredity, and she is far more intelligent than most men, yet she is still
treated like a lesser human being while in her kingdom that proves to only be keeping her behind
from accomplishing great things. In the novel, Dealing with Dragons , it is made very clear that
Cimorene immensely loathes being a princess in the Kingdom of Linderwall because of the
social norms that she is forced to abide by. The author states, Then what, exactly is your problem?
... This! Cimorene gestured at the castle around her. Embroidery lessons, and dancing, and and
being a princess! . This event occurs when Cimorene fairy godmother comes to the castle for a
visit. Cimorene blatantly states that everything involved in her life is exactly her problem and
because that, one can find that she was justified to run away from a life that she despises.
Furthermore, this shows that Cimorene had a motive to run away from what would be an
inexorable marriage because of her parents and that she never wanted to hurt

A License Should Be Required To Be A Parent
From everyday experiences to recent news stories, I have come across many issues that large
families face in America. Poverty and child abuse are top issues in the United States. For this
reason, I believe the government should start regulating the number of children people can have
based on financial stability, place of residence, criminal history, and other qualifications. The ideal
American family image is one that provides parents that gracefully accommodate and nurture their
children with open arms, financial cohesion, warm meals, and a roof over their heads. Although one
might think these characteristics are a given, they are not as common as the general population
widely assumes. There are many individuals deemed unfit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Of course, there is no way a test or skill assessment could predict illnesses, or things that could
change living situations in the future. However, predicting if a parent would be ideal to start a
family and raise children is possible. Being certified before having children can benefit both
families and the economy. The license would ensure that the parents in question have enough
resources to afford children, and will require a full background and criminal history check to
evaluate their skills as a parent. Multiple skill sets play a factor. Previous incarcerations and
financial resources play a crucial role as people who have been criminally negligent beforehand
have the tendency to commit another crime. This thorough skill assessment will be kept on
record. Moreover, there is a strategic interview and background check on those who wish to
adopt. We do not let just anyone adopt a child, nor do we go without checking up on his or her
history to predict the likelihood of that person being a good candidate for a parent. There are
forms to be filled out, house inspection, and an overview of their income to make sure they are
suitable to take in and care for this child. According to a study published by the Child Welfare
League of America, despite

Confirmability alludes to the degree to which the outcomes could be approved by others, or put in
another way; how objective are the outcomes. This may, for instance, be accomplished by giving
definite descriptions of the methodology connected in the thesis to allow others to examine the
thesis procedure. Also, the researcher can guarantee objectivity by taking an impartial position on
the topic to evade potential personal predispositions.
Information on each corporation s negative and positive outcomes is gathered from reports of the

Global Compact and the strategy of corporations for peace

The UNs Global Compact was originally an approach by the UN in 2000. The strategy was
founded in order to function as a podium for the execution and disclosure of including responsible
businesses to the purpose of enhanced global development. The UNGC was planned to carry the
international community and the businesses of the world collectively. The corporation between
business, governments, civil society, labor and the UN has resulted in hopes to address landmarks
for development, such as building markets, protecting the environment, struggle against corruption
and guaranteeing social inclusion. The UNGC is established on ten principles that cover the parts
of human rights, labor, environment and anti corruption. Now, there are almost 8,000 corporate

Troy In Clemence Mclaren s Inside The Walls Of Troy
There are many notable retellings of the story of Troy that focus on the perspectives of minor
characters, rather than the central characters commonly known in the Iliad, the great warriors
Achilles and Hector. The novel Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence McLaren does just this by
featuring the perspectives of Helen of Sparta, the beloved of Paris, and Cassandra of Troy, the
daughter of King Priamfor different periods of time before, throughout, and after the end of the war.
The author, a modern era female writer, focuses the text s aims and attentions to other modern
females, albeit young adults. Due to this specific genre, McLaren s retelling must fulfill certain
expectations, such as relaying the story of Troy in an interesting enough manner as to hold the
audience s attention and incorporating strong female protagonists the audience can not only relate
to, but identify with. To do this, the original epic, the Iliad, wholly from the perspective of battle
hardened men and a complex, tedious read must be transformed to simple language that resonates
with young, female readers of a contemporary society, while still imparting the significant
insights of the original text. McLaren s retelling of the Iliad comprises of many events and
character traits that allow the audience to engage with and appreciate the story of Troy in a way
that the original version does not allow for, such as: Cassandra s attribute as a prophetess and
narrator, Helen s childhood narrative, Polyxena s retrieval of Hectors body, and lastly, Helenus s
character as a male character who recognizes women to be the equals of men. Cassandra narrates
the second half of McLaren s novel, but more importantly, is given the attribute of a prophetess.
This is a stark contrast to her character in the Iliad who is mentioned only twice, once as a
commodity, a wife to be won, and the other as an entity not belonging to herself, but as the sister
of Hector who wails and laments upon the death of her dear brother. Firstly, by making her a
prophetess, McLaren not only makes Cassandra a complex character, but gives her agency, as she
is able to use her prophetic abilities for good by warning those who would listen of the destruction

Describe Hurricane Katrina Beginning in the 1950s, the United States have witnessed two Category
Five Storms and seven Category Four Storms naming Hurricane Katrina as one of the most deadly
Category Four hurricanes to hit the Gulf Coast. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina dismantled
several sections of the levee which caused it to collapse. The storm then breeched the New Orleans
levee system allowing Lake Ponchartrain and the Mississippi River to flow in the heart of the city.
Furthermore, a tremendous amount of damages occurred throughout the coast of Mississippi and
Alabama. The state of Louisiana sustained most of the damages not just from Hurricane ... Show

After Hurricane Katrina, ten months later, jobs plummeted to an average loss of 95,000. During
the month of November 2005, employment had dropped to 105,300 below the previous year s
figure. (Dolfman pg. 7) Furthermore, Hurricane Karina in doubt did cause more damage to the
economy than expected. The hurricane affected 19% of U.S. oil production. (Dolfman pg. 7)
Hurricane Katrina completely destroyed 113 offshore oil and gas platforms, occurs damages
to457 oil and gas pipelines, and spilled as much oil compared to the Exxon Valdez oil disaster.
This devastating event caused oil prices to increase $3 a barrel, and gas prices sky rocketed to $5
a gallon. (Dolfman pg. 7) Lastly, Hurricane Katrina s impact struck Louisiana s sugar industry,
totaling an estimate of $500 million in annual crop value. (Amadeo) There are two main concepts
to prevent another devastating event as Hurricane Katrina which are plan/prepare and thorough
disaster drills. First and foremost, we cannot prevent nor anticipate disasters; therefore, we shall
prepare and practice for crisis as such. When everyone knows which critical functions are required
for restoration then this could provide a tremendous amount of confidence in life threatening
situations. The very basic principles of planning we all should be familiar with could save the lives
of millions. Next, conducting thorough disaster drills should always be

One of the studies I found talked about how men and women differ in confronting their significant
other about extra partner affairs. The author of this study, Barry X. Khule, had trained
undergraduate students watch and code fifty one episodes of the reality television show Cheaters
(Khule, 2011). Individuals who believed they were being cheated on called the show and asked that
the Cheater s Detective Agency (CDA) follow their significant other around for weeks. Then, the
CDA provided the victim with video surveillance footage to show whether or not their significant
other had actually been cheatingon them. The show then gave the victim a chance to confront the
cheating mate. The confrontation was also videotaped as part of the show... Show more content on

Men are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because if a man s significant other
was unfaithful, it reduced the man s chances of reproducing and passing along his genes to the next
generation. On the other hand, women are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy
because if a woman s significant other was unfaithful, she would lose her source of resources,
protection, and attention (Buss Haselton, 2005).
This article also states that men find it harder to forgive a sexual infidelity and women find it
harder to forgive an emotional infidelity. Evolutionary psychologists believe that women are
drawn to men based on their resources (e.g. money, family, health) and that men are drawn to
women based on their physical appearance (e.g. body shape, size, facial attractiveness). When
men feel as though they are in jeopardy of infidelity, they engage in what the authors of the
article call jealous mate guarding , especially during their woman s time of ovulation each
month. When women feel that their resource endowed man may be more attracted to another
woman, they also engage in jealous mate guarding (Buss Haselton, 2005). In my opinion,
jealousy can be a big problem, but it doesn t have to be. It all depends on the couple and how
compatible they are with each other. A little jealousy can be a good thing; it means that people
care about each other and are afraid to lose one another. However, there is a point where

Analysis Of Henrik Wolff s Bullet s The Brain
Imagine death. What happens in your final moments? Are you going to think about your loved ones
or just simply reminisce on one of the happiest moments of your existence? What would be your
very final thought to think? The short story, Bullet in the Brain , is a very intriguing, well
articulated fictional writing piece that captures what happens in the split second of death through
the main characterAnders. Written by Tobias Wolff
, the story follows a man who finds the clichГ©
in anything and his final thoughts of his life as a bullet is moving through his brain. Saying I
enjoyed this story would be the understatement of the century. The short storyis purely brilliant and
one of the most thought provoking stories I have read in a while. The story takes place inside an
old pompous bank building. Anders, a book critic, cannot make it to the bank until right before
closing time so, of course, the line is long and the women he gets stuck waiting in line behind
puts him in the worst mood possible. Anders is a man who has critiqued the beauty out of life
and in turn has let it turn him bitter. Anders could not be any more irritated while waiting in line
because the teller decides to neglect her job to flirt with a man. Instead of taking his anger out on
the bank teller, he takes it out on two ladies in front of him who were just trying to make
conversation. But in the blink of an eye, everything changes and a plot twist occurs. Suddenly two

has been used by many nations and armies throughout the history of the world. Some have utilized
the cavalry with tremendous success, while others have over looked the value that they could bring

generations of warfighters and historians in an effort to shed light on what was successful and what
had failed. Before the battle at Gettysburg the Confederate States of Americas cavalry under the

The morning of 2 July did not leave those in Colonel Devin s 2ND Brigade unengaged as they
were held on the front lines from early morning until past noon. Though the fighting continued,
General Buford requested to be allowed to go to the rear for an extensive refit (Longacre, 1986, p.

Student Debt For College Students
As decades pass by, obtaining a college degree seems more necessary to get a decent job after
graduating. Therefore, high school students feel the pressure to get into a good university and to
get the highest degree possible, even when they have no plan on how to pay for it. Financial aid
has not kept up with growing tuition prices, and taking out student loans seems almost impossible
to avoid. According to research, About 40 million Americans hold student loans and about 70% of
bachelor s degree recipients graduate with debt. (Market Watch) The U.S currently has a total of

Educational shaming is when society looks down on you if you decide to take a route in life
that does not involve college, or does not involve a 4 year degree or higher. It has also come to a
point in this society, if you do not go to college right after high school and do not graduate within
4 years you are looked down upon by employers. We put a college degree over productive work
career. When employers should start looking to see if you are eligible for a laboring job (and
other careers that do not need schooling) by your learning potential, motivation, integrity, and
mental ability instead of a piece of paper that tells your education and job experience. We are
setting up future generations for disaster if we don t help make a change. We are starting to
believe that the American Dream is all about a white collard job and a college degree. (Ted
Talks, Dusty Wunderlich) By 2020, 19 million more college graduates will enter the workforce
but only 7 million of those require a degree. (Ted Talks) Since every person is different not
everyone will be ready for college at 18 and not every student will have the fast learning ability or
money to graduate in 4 years. Changing the way society thinks is way easier said than done.
Students can start taking part of this way of thinking and help spread awareness by writing letters
to congressmen, holding rallies, and by writing and signing

White Christmas Literary Devices
Dreaming of A White Christmas was written by Bing Crosby during the year of 1942. This
typical song has a different hook that got my attention. The title was the hook for me because it
said Dreaming of A White Christmas it s a very different title to other songs. Bing Crosby wrote
this song because he had a purpose to tell parents and us they key memories. Key memories of
the holiday season that most people love and cherish. This song had some literary devices I
wanted to discuss. One of the literary devices that got my attention was imagery. This song has
imagery because in (1:1) it say White Christmas this makes me imagine the snow falling during
the time in December. You can also imagine people having fun, spending time with their family
during a White Christma. Another imagery that many people can imagine is (1:6) With every
Christmas card i write it makes you imagine. It gives you a sense of people sending Christmas
cards to their family or to special people. The last imagery is my favorite one. Its is (1:12) To hear
sleigh bells in the snow makes me imagine the soft, and beautiful sound of sleigh bells during
Christmas time it s an amazing feeling you get.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bing Crosby used rhyming to make the song have a beat to it. In (1:1,2) this is rhyming going
on there. The rhyming is between the word know and snow. Bing Crosby did a good job of
rhyming with this song. In (1: 3) you can also find rhyming their with the words treetops glisten
and children listen. The writer made a good job because if treetops glisten children will listen.
Most of his rhymes are typical human extinct. The rhyming that got me curious was the rhyming in
(1: 6,7,8) because he ended all his sentences with words that rhyme and he did not do that with his
other lyrics. This one literary device that got me

The first sight of this painting extremely moved me. In this work, no other figures are
represented and the setting is not recognizable. In the depth of his eyes one can see the suffering
and pain for our human sacrifice. As well as this one can also see the holy look on the facial
expression as he gently carries the cross. On the cross, above the left hand in Greek letters,
domenikos theotokopoulos epoiei is written. Christ Carrying the Cross is one of the most
intriguing work of art. It belongs to Robert Lehman collection since 1953. Its size is 41 3/8 * 31

this work of art represents the legacy of a continuous dynasty. This mask is believed to be

during the commemoration of these holidays.

When Jesus arrived to Golgotha, He was nailed to the cross and soon after dies. The symbol of
Jesus crucifixion is what Christians live by. It represents Jesus sacrificing his life to save
humanity from their evil sins. When He died, He was taken down from the cross and was buried
in a tomb, where He resurrected into Heaven and was seated at the right Hand of God. Jesus
resurrection symbolizes two things. First, it proves to Christians that Jesus is the Son of God
(Curtis). In the Bible, Paul affirmed that Christ is declared to be the Son of God by the resurrection
from the dead (Rom. 1:4). Second, Jesus resurrection represented an assurance that all of humanity
is saved and forgiven for their sins (Curtis).
Passover and Easter also have representational art and iconography that are displayed in how the
religious festivals are celebrated by Jewish people and Christians.
Jewish people celebrate Passover with a ritual dinner called Seder, which represents the meal
that the Israelites ate before fleeing Egypt (Oxtoby 123). In a Passover Seder, the head of the
family begins the ceremony by sanctifying the holiday with a Qiddush, or benediction, over a
cup of wine (Tobias 88). While reciting a prayer, raw vegetables dipped in vinegar, a shank bone
and a hard boiled egg are presented to the family members. Then, a second cup of wine is poured
and at this time, the Passover liturgy, or Haggadah, begins (Oxtoby 124). The

Essay On Making Things Better On Campus At Florida...
At least once in a person s life they will go through hard times. These hard times could be
financial, personal, tragic, or something that happened to them early in life that will haunt them
forever. Some of these hard times could have been self inflicted, or something someone can t help
at all. Whenever anything bad happens to us, we have the mentality that somehow it will get
better. Whether a cut on our knee we got on the playground in kindergarten, to losing a loved one
who was close to you, it gets better. We use this phrase to get us through the bad times and reminds
us that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This positive outlook is also used when trying to
make change whether on campus at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) or social change. Making
things better on campus needs actions that present itself beneficial to many people, like parking,

Analysis Of Gabriel By George Sand
Gabriel by George Sand, translated by Gay Smith and directed by Rebecca MaxField was
performed at the AS220 Head Trick Theatre Saturday, December 15 at 9:00 pm. Art is about the
obscurity of modern art. In George Sand s Play, Gabriel raises many unsolved questions.
In the opening scene, Gabriel is introduced as a Womanwho has been raised and educated as a boy
by his teacher, Father Chaivari played by Amy Thompson. In the seventeenth century Italy. At the
opening play, Gabriel played by Christine Pavao has a dream in which she sees an archangel

Analysis Of Into The Wild By Chris Mccandless
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is about Chris McCandless who was a child born into a well off
family who fit into American society extremely well. After traveling south and receiving his
college degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Chris had the sudden urge to leave
everything behind and go on the adventure of a lifetime. Following in the ideologies and
footsteps of his idols Thoreau, Jack London, and several others; Chris donated all of money to a
charity that helps hungry children, changed his name to Alex Supertramp, and headed West in
his old yellow Datsun to escape the hassle and expectations of society as it is today. He traveled
to many places including Colorado, Mexico, The Grand Canyon, Arizona, California, and South
Dakota where he made a lasting impression on Wayne Westerberg. Chris made huge impacts on
several peoples lives along his journey, but always kept them at arm s length and left before there
was an unbreakable connection established. Instead he replaced the joy that most people get from
human interaction and replaced it with feelings of wonder and exhilaration that pristine nature
brought. He lived happily by never staying in one place for too long and always having something
new to explore, going against the modern day norms. Chris s ultimate journey is to escape to the
Alaskawilderness, where he eventually meets his demise by eating poisonous seeds. It is thought
that perhaps he had a change of heart towards modern day society in the end

Insurgent Movie Essay

robots, spaceships, and odd gizmos. Science fiction films now offer a rim of exciting genres
combined in one such as suspense, adventure, action, and romance. The film Insurgent release in
2015 directed by Robert Schwentke services as a perfect example. Insurgent captives its viewers
by infusing a futuristic theme, non stop mind stimulating action, and danger seeking missions,
making it a must see movie that family and friends will enjoy. Why also appealing to those who
relish thought provoking films. The movie introduces several new actors, and keeping the actors

For instance, I read about the three mixed media collages by David Maxim, studied the picture
of one of them, Time s Speed, and searched for it when we arrived at the Polk Museum of Art; I
was interested to see how the artist s signature expressive style, with its energetic line and spilled
color, contributes to depicting power and the anxiety of being impacted by that power ( Current
Exhibitions ). When I found it, however, I was shocked at how much larger it was than what I
expected, and the splattered bulbs of fabric and rope hung off the canvas as large as my head,
compared to the size of a golf ball I had been imagining. In addition, being in the actual place with
the artwork was a much more educational experience than trying to glean knowledge from the
web; seeing the physical objects made them so much more interesting, and interacting with the
docent was much more informative than reading paragraphs, since we could ask her questions
and hear her anecdotes. For instance, in the Ancient Art of the Americas gallery, our kind tour
guide described the cultures and people that used the artifacts we saw, which without her
information might have been easy to gloss over. She told us about how some cultures in Mexico
would use Chihuahuas as a food source and how they were therefore depicted in art, and pointed
at sculptures that I would have otherwise looked at with no understanding. Yet since she explained

The twists and turns of your life can be so unexpected, and that s a good thing to learn. Whale

Amanda Knox Movie Analysis
Amanda Knox by Brian McGinn and Rod Blackhurst documents the trial, conviction and
acquittal of Amanda Knox for the murder of her foreign exchange roommate in Italy. The film
includes interviews with her codefendant and ex boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito; the attorney for
the man believed to have really been the murderer; the man who led the Italian investigation and
Amanda Knox, herself. From the documentary we learn that Amanda Knox and Raffaele
Sollecito were wrongfully convicted of the murder of Knox s British roommate, Meredith
Kercher. Amanda Knox does an admirable job of detailing the crucial facts of the case. The film,
which often plays out like a narrative thriller, takes us back to the murder of Kercher in 2007 and
does so with the use of police footage of the crime scene. It takes us through the ensuing media
outrage, the false accusations, the trial and appeal, with contributions from those who were there.
The film undeniably takes a pro Knox stance because of how it focuses largely on its main
characters, therefore illuminating how something like this can happen to anyone. The film tries to
shed light of the wrongfully committed and how being acquainted with the victim can
automatically make you a suspect. The lack of communication and misinterpretation between the
two suspects and the police of Italy are mainly what caused Knox and Sollecito to spend years in
prison for a crime they did not commit. Knox says to herself at the open of the film: Either I m a

Sandy Hook Shooting Essay
To be afraid is no less an innate behavior than to be hungry. To find relief we look to fill ourselves
with comfort and content, but there will always be hunger, and there will always be fear. We as
human beings cannot control our surroundings, and with them the fear that hides underneath and in
between. We cannot escape the feeling of fear or its constant pestering, but we may control how we
react to it. Those affected by the unspeakable events at Sandy Hook Elementary Schoolin December

By identifying the cause of the problem at its roots, we are lead to believe that we may be able
to stop it before it sprouts. The murderer, in the case of the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre, was
socially awkward and reserved , as Ben Stein puts it in his article in The American Spectator (Stein).
Perhaps our killer had a similar background to many of our American youth. With increasing trends
in teen depression and suicide, and the implementation of more and more prescription anti
depressants and anxiety medications, there are adverse side effects. Peter Breggin, in an excerpt
from his article on Naturalnews.com, states that psychiatric drugs, including antidepressants,
stimulants, and tranquilizing sedatives, can cause violence (Breggin). While this assumption
does hold true in some cases, are we really to be blaming the drug for the acts of the human,
already unstable and unreliable? And are we to take a true monster like the Sandy Hook shooter
and compare him to any troubled young man, dealt a bad hand and struck with anxiety? Stein
includes a quote from John R. Coyne, Jr., There is evil in the world. It s beyond mental illness,
beyond gun control. It is evil (Stein). Perhaps to blame the medication for an unspeakable crime is
to blame a scapegoat for an act of pure and undisputed

Whitman s Essay When I Heard The Learn D Astronomer
A poet who would agree with Albert Einstein statement of Education is not the learning of facts, but
the training of the mind to think is Walt Whitman. For in his poem When I Heard the Learn d

this, Walt Whitmanwants to illustrate the disadvantages of education and how it solely relies on

through his use of imagery, sound, and syntax.
Through his writing, Walt Whitman tries to have his readers understand his statement by giving

Influential People Today
In the society we live in today, our thought processes are different than what they were a decade or

However, as I aged into the young man I am today, I understand that being influential persontakes a

while asking for nothing in return but their happiness. Besides my parents and some family

Theme Of Colour In The Great Gatsby
L1 Essay The importance of colour in The Great Gatsby
In the following essay, I will write about the usage and the importance of colour in F. Scott
Fitzgerald s novel, basing my arguments on the text and giving examples from it.
Colour plays a vital part in The Great Gatsby as it helps to illustrate many of the passages and
helps the reader to create a clearer image of what is taking place. It also plays a significant role in
the shaping up of the characters as colour is also associated with them.
The colours that are most frequently used throughout the novel are green, white, blue, yellow and
grey. Each colour has a symbolic meaning and they add to make the novel more colourful and also
more surreal.
In Western culture, the colour green... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The light is described as minute and far away , which portrays the impossibility of achieving this
dream. Nevertheless, Gatsby seems hopeful throughout the entire novel.
Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded
us then, but that s no matter tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther . . . And one

Before you haul a horse in your trailer for the first time, you need to make sure that everything is
hooked up correctly and that your trailers is set up correctly for your horse. Here is a quick
checklist for first time horse haulers to go over before getting on the road.
Start With The Towing Vehicle
Before you even hook up your horse trailer, you need to run a basic safety and maintenance check
on the vehicle that you intend to tow the trailer with. Towing a horse trailer can put a lot of strain
on a vehicle, which is why it is so important to make sure the vehicle you are towing with is in
great shape.

Before you hook up your trailer, get inside of your trailer and make sure that it is clean. Bees
love to make nests inside of empty trailers and other insects and animals like to take advantage of
the space as well. These types of intruders will scare your horses and could potentially harm your
trailer, so be sure to clean it out before you move it.
After you clean the inside of your horse trailer, it is time to inspect the outside of it. Just like with
the towing vehicle, you ll want to check the tire pressure and make sure it is filled to the correct
level suggested by the manufacturer of your trailer.
After you check the tire pressure, you are going to want to get out a lug nut wrench and make
sure that all the lug nuts are tight on the wheels of your trailer. The lug nuts on a horse trailer can
easily become loose through typical wear and tear, so its a good idea to always check them before

However, this task can be very difficult to accomplish. Due to the fact that these artifacts are
hundreds to thousands of years old, they are likely to be very fragile. Making it difficult to
collect all the pieces of evidence needed to support their theory. The objects that are still intact,
however, are collected, cleaned, photographed, documented and analyzed for further studies.
While researching Catalhoyuk, I was intrigued with the idea of living in the houses that they
lived in. I wondered if they were dark, or cold. Apparently, a group of archaeologists had the same
thought, and were able to re create and build one of the Catalhoyuk houses in a site near Mira
Stevanovic, according to Ian Hodder. Their model house proved that the rooms were in fact lit up,
because the sun entered through the square opening in the roof. I was also surprised by the fact
that the children born there did not live with their biological parents, especially because family
seemed to have been very important in regards to the social order of the household. My research
has been very valuable for acknowledging the importance of archaeology, and how it has extended

Tourette s Syndrome Analysis
Barking, convulsive tics, grimacing, swearing Imagine having frequent involuntary urges of
mimicry and repetition of abrupt behaviors. These traits are often associated with Tourette
Syndrome, a neurological disorder that researchers believe is caused by and abnormal metabolism
of the neurotransmitters, dopamine and serotonin. It is genetically transmitted from parent to child.
There is a fifty percent chance of passing the gene on from parent to child. It s one of the more
common genetic diseases detected in one to ten children out of 1,000. The exact cause of Tourette s
syndrome is still unknown, some research suggests that it occurs when the neurotransmitters fail to
balance within the brain. Readers question, how someone can go from tossing pots and pans, to
being very precise as a highly recommended surgeon. Tourette s Syndrome does not totally affect a
persons life productivity, nor does it it result in an altered life expectancy. Populations not affected
by this disorder, fail to understand how someone could suddenly exhibit such normality. Developing

Beethoven Romanticism
Thanks to Beethoven, music was taken highly serious among the people and the literatures of arts.
During the nineteenth century, the first two decades were devoted to Romanticism. Literature
wasn t the only thing that poured out during this time period, so did the music. People such as
Jean Jacques Rousseau, who was an Enlightenment philosopher in the mid eighteenth century,
provided the Romantics with ideas on how to express themselves as opposed to what society
expected from one. These ideas led people to live an upbeat joyful life rather than a sluggish
boring one. However, Romanticism came to be during a time of war, and because of how freely
expressive the Romantics were they became know as rebels who went against the rules and
regulations. So rebellious that the Romantic composers were experimenting with chords that had
been off limits.
This time period also brought some spooky harmonies orchestral sounds, along with recognizable
operas such as Robert the Devil, The Vampire, The Magic Bullet, and Frankenstein. Just like the
Romantic period expanded the orchestral, it also picked up on the ... Show more content on

make sense on its own term. In other words, the Romantics embraced the pure beauty of
instrumental music but they also liked program music because it mixes in nonmusical elements.
Although the Romantics liked being different, most of their compositions were either miniature or
grandiose compositions. The difference is that miniature compositions were a few minutes longs,
but were designed to convey a particularly pointed emotion, and be meaningful. In contrast,
grandiose compositions were meant for large symphonies and longer time duration that were
interweaved with poetry, philosophical or religious ideas, story lines, and dramatic

native Americans camping at the site where the North Dakota access pipeline would cross the

dogs. So the native are are trying to protect their lands from the pipeline. My opinion is the native
culture needs help. We should support the native Americans because of how many native from
different state are already helping the cause by protesting. The article said that by September The

develop the prototype and protocols into a useful system that can be scaled up for application at
the end users level of skill. Considering the target audience of farmers, who may not have a high
level of understanding of electrical and computer components, each component was designed to be
easily set up and operated. The ability of an average person to set up and configure the GPS

help some. However this may provide an opportunity for developing a niche job market for

Examples Of Propaganda In Animal Farm By George Orwell
Propaganda is biased information that is spread around by people who want to support one
political view. It is believed by many that propaganda is what makes people believe one thing. As
Eric Hoffer once said, propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive
themselves. Propaganda spreads information and is thought to be what tricks people into believing
rumors. When someone uses propaganda, they are not tricking the people, it is the people
listening to the lies being said and tricking themselves into thinking it. If the people listen to the
person who is spreading propaganda, they are the ones choosing to believe the information, the
propaganda is not forcing them to believe it. This idea is very true because all propaganda does is

The quote Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive themselves,
describes what napoleon did on animals farm. Napoleon is telling all animals around the farm
that humans are bad. This action occurs when napoleon told all the animals that, Four legs are
good, two legs are bad (Orwell 11). By spreading this around the farm, that statement was
believed in by every animal on the farm. Another example of when Napoleon spread propaganda
was when he got everyone on the farm to turn against snowball by telling them a bunch of rumors.
The rumors were that he broke the windmill and he has been working with the humans this whole
time. Napoleon did this out of jealousy because he did not want the other animals liking snowball
better. Napoleon doing this showed that propaganda does help other deceive themselves. The
animals all like Snowball but once propaganda was spread then everyone disregarded everything
they believed and they turned against snowball. Napoleon doing this clearly represents how

To What Extent Was the Period of Conservative Rule 1951-64...
This essay will examine the impact of the Conservative party during their period in office
between 1951 and 1964. The assessments by historians of these thirteen years vary widely as the
Conservative rule left behind a mixed feeling about its achievements. We will therefore be
discussing to what extent their period in office can be described as thirteen years wasted , based on
their performances in the political, economic and social sectors. When the Conservative Partycame
to power in 1951, they won the election by a slim majority of 26 seats, leaving them with very little
power to make important changes. However, their number of seats increased throughout their
thirteen years in office, leaving them with a majority of 107 in the 1959... Show more content on

The Dig for Victory campaign reminded people of the importance of agriculture.
The Conservatives also focused on several aspects of the social sector by putting into place
important extensions to the Welfare State. These include the increase of benefits and the
implementation of the Mental Health Act which spread awareness of mental illness and increased
its social acceptance, which was a huge step towards tolerance which was ahead of its time.
However the plan to build 90 new hospitals across Britain never came into action as the Labour
government had retaken office in 1964. Despite this, the improvements in healthcare can be seen as
a big success for the Conservatives, although, yet again it can be said that they could have done
much more in their thirteen years in this sector.
Progress was also made in the area of education as 6000 new schools and 11 new universities were
constructed and many more were expanded. However their was a big debate about the merits of
comprehensive and grammar schools. The Conservatives, who supported grammar schools for most
of their time in office finally gave into the inevitable fact that comprehensive education did offer
certain advantages that grammar schools did not. The time that the Conservatives spent preventing
county councils from introducing comprehensive systems was therefore counter productive and a
waste of time.

Marx And The Capitalist System
Throughout his many works (most notably Das Kapital) Marx criticized many aspects of the
capitalist system and how his socialist views held the key to freeing America from its otherwise
damned state. Here are some of the issues that Marx attributed to capitalism. He found that
modern work is alienated. Marx believed labor to be one of man s greatest sources of pleasure,
but in order to be fulfilled at work, workers would need to see an extension of themselves in the
objects they create. This was something that became increasingly rare in the modern world as
work tends to be more specialized. While specialized jobs make for an efficient economy they also
limit the possibility of any seldom worker to derive a sense of a genuine contribution... Show more

He called this primitive accumulation . In an attempt to remedy this injustice, Marx calls for the
redistribution of the wealth of the massive corporations that were making so much surplus money
into the hands of the people responsible for it. Marx also believed capitalism to be characterized by
a series of crises. These crises were caused by the fact that America is able to produce far more
than anyone needs to consume. Regarding human relation, Marx saw our system as the source
of great misery. Contrary to popular belief, Marx did not see the people of the West as evil . For
example, he was acutely aware of the sorrows that lay behind bourgeois marriage. The
bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family
relation to a mere money relation (Marx). Marx believed that the capitalist system forced people
to place economic interests at the heart of their lives and as a result they are no longer able to
experience deep and honest relationships. He called this commodity fetishism and wanted people
to be free of financial constraint. So what are some of the perceived benefits one could expect to
see within Marx s ideal socialist society? Firstly, Marx believed in equality before the law. Every
individual would be granted an equal stance and equal opportunity. There would be no fights for
social justice as there would be no dominant gender or race. Citizens would have immediate access
to education as well as the

Criminal Law Essay on Homicide
Criminal Law Essay on Homicide
According to the latest official statistics, there are more than 500 000 cases of homicide every year.
More than 30% of all cases occur in Africa. Americas are on the second place. Asia is known for
5% of all the cases of homicide that are reported in the world annually. What is homicide? Why
does this problem exist? How can it be solved? Criminal homicide is the action of killing a person
by another person. The killer could have killed the victim intentionally and unintentionally. Despite
the actual intention, both variants are treated like homicide and are punished strictly. When you try

They are believed to suffer from psychological diseases. Therefore, many dangerous criminals
receive life imprisonment and constant work with a psychologist or psychotherapist. Nowadays, the
law is more loyal to human life. Thus, the worst criminals are not executed. This issue is very
controversial and disputable.
Manslaughter is another type of homicides that is believed to be less felonious than murder.
Manslaughter is characterized with the particular circumstances of this crime.
Although there is a voluntary manslaughter, the killer is not punished strictly if had to defend
himself, his family or the surrounded people. Moreover, he could be provoked by the victim.
Manslaughter is often conducted in the heat of passion caused by provocation and improper
behavior of the victim. There is also involuntary manslaughter when a person does not intend to kill
another person. Although the killer is provoked, he does not plan anything but to injure or calm
down the irritant. He kills her by mistake or accidentally.
It is very difficult to punish someone who kills another person at war. If we think soberly, people
are supposed to kill one another at war. However, this right touches upon soldiers.
When one decides to kill an innocent person, he can be punished strictly. However, it is difficult to
prove that the crime took place in the whole. If an innocent person is killed at night, the killer will
hardly be punished inasmuch as he could have confused her with

Hunger Of New York City
Hunger in New York City
Since the recession started in 2007, the national statistics of unemployment, low income
households, and hunger have increased yearly. Even after the recession had ended in 2009 the
economic issues are still very prominent. Everything economically related to the health and welfare
of the vast majority of our American citizens, has sky rocketed in a very negative way. Students,
parents, children and families alike have, and continue to struggle with hunger on a day to day
basis. Our communities have become impoverished with food, expanding state to state with hunger
and even starvation. New York City, has become a haven of families struggling with the realities
that hunger can bring. How long can we live like this before somebody does anything about this?
The research on this matter has some astonishing numbers, NYC Hunger Exp. 2012: One City
Two Realities writes: In 2012, almost three in four New York City households with children with
annual incomes of less than $25,000 (70 percent) had difficulty affording needed food. The
percentage having difficulty is up 30 percent from 2011 (54 percent), representing the biggest
increase since the start of the poll in 2003 and the biggest increase of any population group in this
year s poll. Soon after the recession, the numbers have still risen, and these recent statistics have
proven the dramatic need for help on an individual level for low income families.
As the statistics grow, the median

The Beatles Were The Most Influential Events Of The Rock Era
Rock Era
The Beatles were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era. They introduced more
innovations into popular music than any other rock band in the twentieth century.
The Beatles was a distinguished group of young band artist. They were the Fab Four, or as the
reporters call them Mop Tops. They were very different then most rock bands because they had a
British accent. The band began in the late 1950 s. Every member of the band was young, they all
started their love of music as a teenager. John was the origin of the Quarrymen, later known as the
Beatles. John started out as a young artist in high school with his band from the inspiration from
Elvis Presley. Don t Let Me Down , a song written by John to express his love for Yoko Ono. The

continued to play at the concerts and at home. After some time Paul made a conjecture to make a
conscription to the band. It was then eight months after John and Paul played together when he
made the conjecture but John soon approved his conjecture. Soon they recruited a young artist

It is difficult for the witness to recall the details of the time, speed, and distance for a car accident,
therefore in 1974 a group of experimenters from University of Washington conducted two related
experiments based on this issue (Loftus Plamer, 1974). First, they questioned whether the changing
verb in a questionabout speed would effect people s estimation adding on to the first question they
asked does the leading question produces a demand characteristic or the question actually causes a

The participants were shown to a car accident film again and following with filling out a
questionnaire, among all the questions there is again one critical question asking for a speed
estimate when the car hit each other or smashed each other. In this experiment, there are fifty
participants in the control group which they were not asked about the speed of the vehicle. After
one week, the participants returned and without re watching the film they were asked to fill out
series of a questionnaire, and among these questions, the critical question is did you see any
broken glass? The participants were asked to answer either yes or no (Loftus Plamer, 1974). In this
experiment, the verb in the critical question is the independent variable and the answer of broken is
the dependent variable.
As the result of the experiment, it appears there is an effect of the verb in estimating whether there
is a broken glass or not. Experimenters explained that when two pieces of information are
integrated, the subject has a memory of an accident that will be more severe than in fact it was
(Loftus Plamer, 1974).
Overall, this experiment is really successful and interesting yet for the second experiment, there is a

Essay On Texas Government
The Texas Government has long been considered a weak type government because it is not the
government which holds all of the power, it is the voter. This weak system of government can be

the U.S. Constitution has a comparatively strong centralized form of government. The plural

This paper will explain what the plural executive is and how it works in Texas, compare it to the

Narrative Style In Frankenstein
In Mary Shelly s book, Frankenstein, she writes with a narrative style. A narrative style is telling
a story. In the book Frankenstein is telling his story to Walton who is writing the story in a letter
to his sister, Margaret. The readers do not know Frankenstein is telling the story until the end when
he is on his death bed and the you he used was not to the readers but to Walton. Right after we see
he is writing this down in a letter to his sister. Frankensteinfollows Frankenstein s story in order,
only to go back to catch up on what his monster did. The writing style is shown many times in
the story including this quote, ... and I myself was about to sink under the accumulation of
distress when I saw your vessel riding at anchor... (Shelly 184). In this quote, we read when
Frankenstein sees Walton s ship during his chase of his monster. In the beginning of the book
Frankenstein starts back from his birth and progresses to tell his life story. Chapter I starts with, I
am by birth a Genevese; and my family is one of the most distinguished of that republic. (Shelly
27). Mary Shelly s Frankenstein is an example of narrative writing because the book is a story and
follows the sequence of events in Frankenstein s life.
Frankenstein contains many quotes on revenge, regret, passion, etc. The first quote is when
Frankenstein brought his experiment to life. It was already one in the morning; the rain patterned

  • 2. Effects Of Amendment 2 On The State Florida Has anyone done any research on what the effects Amendment 2 would have on the state Florida? Well the opposition clearly did not do any research and the politicians used smooth talking fallacies to blind side the voters. It is time to see the holes in their stance on medical marijuana. The Smokescreen as defined by the author Joe Cardona from the Miami Herald, is the lack of liability Amendment 2 brought to the table when it hit the polls in October. His meaning behind this is because a medical marijuana user would not be receiving a prescription from a trained medical physician. Instead, they would be receiving a referral for a license to receive treatment and they would have it forever. Also as part of Joe Cardona s Smokescreen theory, because the fact that Amendment 2 is a constitutional amendment that there would have been no way to tweak or amended it, like a legislative law would. So regulating the consumption of medical marijuana would be impossible. (Cardona, 2014) Unfortunately he is not the only one to interpret Amendment 2 this way. Dr. Rafael Miguel, director of the Sarasota Memorial Institute for Advanced Medicine s Pain Medicine Program and representatives for Drug Free America. He states that You don t get refills, you get it forever. There s no regulation on consumption. (Gillin, 2014) These bold statements were completely wrong and very misinforming. The referral would also have a date attached, so a doctor would put on the referral how long the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Arguments In Dealing With Dragons While reading the novel, Dealing with Dragons , by Patricia C. Wrede, one could ask if someone like Cimorene, a princess in the story, should be justified if they go against what expectations are made of them and why that should ever be approved of. However, Cimorene was completely justified in ignoring the social norms of her day because it is very clear that she was never content with being a princess in that kingdom, she was only truly happy in living an improper life away from her heredity, and she is far more intelligent than most men, yet she is still treated like a lesser human being while in her kingdom that proves to only be keeping her behind from accomplishing great things. In the novel, Dealing with Dragons , it is made very clear that Cimorene immensely loathes being a princess in the Kingdom of Linderwall because of the social norms that she is forced to abide by. The author states, Then what, exactly is your problem? ... This! Cimorene gestured at the castle around her. Embroidery lessons, and dancing, and and being a princess! . This event occurs when Cimorene fairy godmother comes to the castle for a visit. Cimorene blatantly states that everything involved in her life is exactly her problem and because that, one can find that she was justified to run away from a life that she despises. Furthermore, this shows that Cimorene had a motive to run away from what would be an inexorable marriage because of her parents and that she never wanted to hurt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A License Should Be Required To Be A Parent From everyday experiences to recent news stories, I have come across many issues that large families face in America. Poverty and child abuse are top issues in the United States. For this reason, I believe the government should start regulating the number of children people can have based on financial stability, place of residence, criminal history, and other qualifications. The ideal American family image is one that provides parents that gracefully accommodate and nurture their children with open arms, financial cohesion, warm meals, and a roof over their heads. Although one might think these characteristics are a given, they are not as common as the general population widely assumes. There are many individuals deemed unfit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course, there is no way a test or skill assessment could predict illnesses, or things that could change living situations in the future. However, predicting if a parent would be ideal to start a family and raise children is possible. Being certified before having children can benefit both families and the economy. The license would ensure that the parents in question have enough resources to afford children, and will require a full background and criminal history check to evaluate their skills as a parent. Multiple skill sets play a factor. Previous incarcerations and financial resources play a crucial role as people who have been criminally negligent beforehand have the tendency to commit another crime. This thorough skill assessment will be kept on record. Moreover, there is a strategic interview and background check on those who wish to adopt. We do not let just anyone adopt a child, nor do we go without checking up on his or her history to predict the likelihood of that person being a good candidate for a parent. There are forms to be filled out, house inspection, and an overview of their income to make sure they are suitable to take in and care for this child. According to a study published by the Child Welfare League of America, despite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Troy In Clemence Mclaren s Inside The Walls Of Troy There are many notable retellings of the story of Troy that focus on the perspectives of minor characters, rather than the central characters commonly known in the Iliad, the great warriors Achilles and Hector. The novel Inside the Walls of Troy by Clemence McLaren does just this by featuring the perspectives of Helen of Sparta, the beloved of Paris, and Cassandra of Troy, the daughter of King Priamfor different periods of time before, throughout, and after the end of the war. The author, a modern era female writer, focuses the text s aims and attentions to other modern females, albeit young adults. Due to this specific genre, McLaren s retelling must fulfill certain expectations, such as relaying the story of Troy in an interesting enough manner as to hold the audience s attention and incorporating strong female protagonists the audience can not only relate to, but identify with. To do this, the original epic, the Iliad, wholly from the perspective of battle hardened men and a complex, tedious read must be transformed to simple language that resonates with young, female readers of a contemporary society, while still imparting the significant insights of the original text. McLaren s retelling of the Iliad comprises of many events and character traits that allow the audience to engage with and appreciate the story of Troy in a way that the original version does not allow for, such as: Cassandra s attribute as a prophetess and narrator, Helen s childhood narrative, Polyxena s retrieval of Hectors body, and lastly, Helenus s character as a male character who recognizes women to be the equals of men. Cassandra narrates the second half of McLaren s novel, but more importantly, is given the attribute of a prophetess. This is a stark contrast to her character in the Iliad who is mentioned only twice, once as a commodity, a wife to be won, and the other as an entity not belonging to herself, but as the sister of Hector who wails and laments upon the death of her dear brother. Firstly, by making her a prophetess, McLaren not only makes Cassandra a complex character, but gives her agency, as she is able to use her prophetic abilities for good by warning those who would listen of the destruction Helen s arrival to ... Hurricane Katrina Datrel Johnson Professor Peter Johnson Geography 101 25 August 2013 Describe Hurricane Katrina Beginning in the 1950s, the United States have witnessed two Category Five Storms and seven Category Four Storms naming Hurricane Katrina as one of the most deadly Category Four hurricanes to hit the Gulf Coast. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina dismantled several sections of the levee which caused it to collapse. The storm then breeched the New Orleans levee system allowing Lake Ponchartrain and the Mississippi River to flow in the heart of the city. Furthermore, a tremendous amount of damages occurred throughout the coast of Mississippi and Alabama. The state of Louisiana sustained most of the damages not just from Hurricane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After Hurricane Katrina, ten months later, jobs plummeted to an average loss of 95,000. During the month of November 2005, employment had dropped to 105,300 below the previous year s figure. (Dolfman pg. 7) Furthermore, Hurricane Karina in doubt did cause more damage to the economy than expected. The hurricane affected 19% of U.S. oil production. (Dolfman pg. 7) Hurricane Katrina completely destroyed 113 offshore oil and gas platforms, occurs damages to457 oil and gas pipelines, and spilled as much oil compared to the Exxon Valdez oil disaster. This devastating event caused oil prices to increase $3 a barrel, and gas prices sky rocketed to $5 a gallon. (Dolfman pg. 7) Lastly, Hurricane Katrina s impact struck Louisiana s sugar industry, totaling an estimate of $500 million in annual crop value. (Amadeo) There are two main concepts to prevent another devastating event as Hurricane Katrina which are plan/prepare and thorough disaster drills. First and foremost, we cannot prevent nor anticipate disasters; therefore, we shall prepare and practice for crisis as such. When everyone knows which critical functions are required for restoration then this could provide a tremendous amount of confidence in life threatening situations. The very basic principles of planning we all should be familiar with could save the lives of millions. Next, conducting thorough disaster drills should always be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the studies I found talked about how men and women differ in confronting their significant other about extra partner affairs. The author of this study, Barry X. Khule, had trained undergraduate students watch and code fifty one episodes of the reality television show Cheaters (Khule, 2011). Individuals who believed they were being cheated on called the show and asked that the Cheater s Detective Agency (CDA) follow their significant other around for weeks. Then, the CDA provided the victim with video surveillance footage to show whether or not their significant other had actually been cheatingon them. The show then gave the victim a chance to confront the cheating mate. The confrontation was also videotaped as part of the show... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Men are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because if a man s significant other was unfaithful, it reduced the man s chances of reproducing and passing along his genes to the next generation. On the other hand, women are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because if a woman s significant other was unfaithful, she would lose her source of resources, protection, and attention (Buss Haselton, 2005). This article also states that men find it harder to forgive a sexual infidelity and women find it harder to forgive an emotional infidelity. Evolutionary psychologists believe that women are drawn to men based on their resources (e.g. money, family, health) and that men are drawn to women based on their physical appearance (e.g. body shape, size, facial attractiveness). When men feel as though they are in jeopardy of infidelity, they engage in what the authors of the article call jealous mate guarding , especially during their woman s time of ovulation each month. When women feel that their resource endowed man may be more attracted to another woman, they also engage in jealous mate guarding (Buss Haselton, 2005). In my opinion, jealousy can be a big problem, but it doesn t have to be. It all depends on the couple and how compatible they are with each other. A little jealousy can be a good thing; it means that people care about each other and are afraid to lose one another. However, there is a point where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Analysis Of Henrik Wolff s Bullet s The Brain Imagine death. What happens in your final moments? Are you going to think about your loved ones or just simply reminisce on one of the happiest moments of your existence? What would be your very final thought to think? The short story, Bullet in the Brain , is a very intriguing, well articulated fictional writing piece that captures what happens in the split second of death through the main characterAnders. Written by Tobias Wolff , the story follows a man who finds the clichГ© in anything and his final thoughts of his life as a bullet is moving through his brain. Saying I enjoyed this story would be the understatement of the century. The short storyis purely brilliant and one of the most thought provoking stories I have read in a while. The story takes place inside an old pompous bank building. Anders, a book critic, cannot make it to the bank until right before closing time so, of course, the line is long and the women he gets stuck waiting in line behind puts him in the worst mood possible. Anders is a man who has critiqued the beauty out of life and in turn has let it turn him bitter. Anders could not be any more irritated while waiting in line because the teller decides to neglect her job to flirt with a man. Instead of taking his anger out on the bank teller, he takes it out on two ladies in front of him who were just trying to make conversation. Cavalry At Gettysburg Blue and Grey, the Cavalry at Gettysburg The cavalry, an army component mounted on horseback, has been used by many nations and armies throughout the history of the world. Some have utilized the cavalry with tremendous success, while others have over looked the value that they could bring to the battlefield. The American Civil War as a whole has been scrutinized and diagnosed through generations of warfighters and historians in an effort to shed light on what was successful and what had failed. Before the battle at Gettysburg the Confederate States of Americas cavalry under the command of Major General James E. B. The morning of 2 July did not leave those in Colonel Devin s 2ND Brigade unengaged as they were held on the front lines from early morning until past noon. Though the fighting continued, General Buford requested to be allowed to go to the rear for an extensive refit (Longacre, 1986, p. 205). With only the 9TH New York Cavalry left to support the infantry and protect the flank of the Union Army s III Corps, General Buford and his division marched to the rear of the Union s lines. This was not the first questionable decision made by Union commanders during the battle. The multiple conflicting orders that Brigadier General David McMurtrie Gregg, Commanding General of the 2ND Division, Cavalry Corps, received from Major General Alfred Pleasonton, the Commanding General of the Union Cavalry Corps. Those orders regarding the movement of his division though merely reflecting the uncertainties of the developing campaign, the dispatches harassed Gregg s troopers almost beyond endurance (Longacre, 1986, p. 203). Therefore, high school students feel the pressure to get into a good university and to get the highest degree possible, even when they have no plan on how to pay for it. Financial aid has not kept up with growing tuition prices, and taking out student loans seems almost impossible to avoid. Educational shaming is when society looks down on you if you decide to take a route in life that does not involve college, or does not involve a 4 year degree or higher. It has also come to a point in this society, if you do not go to college right after high school and do not graduate within 4 years you are looked down upon by employers. We put a college degree over productive work career. When employers should start looking to see if you are eligible for a laboring job (and other careers that do not need schooling) by your learning potential, motivation, integrity, and mental ability instead of a piece of paper that tells your education and job experience. When He died, He was taken down from the cross and was buried in a tomb, where He resurrected into Heaven and was seated at the right Hand of God. Jesus resurrection symbolizes two things. First, it proves to Christians that Jesus is the Son of God (Curtis). In the Bible, Paul affirmed that Christ is declared to be the Son of God by the resurrection from the dead (Rom. 1:4). Second, Jesus resurrection represented an assurance that all of humanity is saved and forgiven for their sins (Curtis). After traveling south and receiving his college degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Chris had the sudden urge to leave everything behind and go on the adventure of a lifetime. Following in the ideologies and footsteps of his idols Thoreau, Jack London, and several others; Chris donated all of money to a charity that helps hungry children, changed his name to Alex Supertramp, and headed West in his old yellow Datsun to escape the hassle and expectations of society as it is today. He traveled to many places including Colorado, Mexico, The Grand Canyon, Arizona, California, and South Dakota where he made a lasting impression on Wayne Westerberg. Chris made huge impacts on several peoples lives along his journey, but always kept them at arm s length and left before there was an unbreakable connection established. Instead he replaced the joy that most people get from human interaction and replaced it with feelings of wonder and exhilaration that pristine nature brought. He lived happily by never staying in one place for too long and always having something new to explore, going against the modern day norms. Amanda Knox Movie Analysis Amanda Knox by Brian McGinn and Rod Blackhurst documents the trial, conviction and acquittal of Amanda Knox for the murder of her foreign exchange roommate in Italy. The film includes interviews with her codefendant and ex boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito; the attorney for the man believed to have really been the murderer; the man who led the Italian investigation and Amanda Knox, herself. From the documentary we learn that Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were wrongfully convicted of the murder of Knox s British roommate, Meredith Kercher. Amanda Knox does an admirable job of detailing the crucial facts of the case. The film, which often plays out like a narrative thriller, takes us back to the murder of Kercher in 2007 and does so with the use of police footage of the crime scene. It takes us through the ensuing media outrage, the false accusations, the trial and appeal, with contributions from those who were there. The film undeniably takes a pro Knox stance because of how it focuses largely on its main characters, therefore illuminating how something like this can happen to anyone. The film tries to shed light of the wrongfully committed and how being acquainted with the victim can automatically make you a suspect. The lack of communication and misinterpretation between the two suspects and the police of Italy are mainly what caused Knox and Sollecito to spend years in prison for a crime they did not commit. The assessments by historians of these thirteen years vary widely as the Conservative rule left behind a mixed feeling about its achievements. We will therefore be discussing to what extent their period in office can be described as thirteen years wasted , based on their performances in the political, economic and social sectors. When the Conservative Partycame to power in 1951, they won the election by a slim majority of 26 seats, leaving them with very little power to make important changes. However the plan to build 90 new hospitals across Britain never came into action as the Labour government had retaken office in 1964. Despite this, the improvements in healthcare can be seen as a big success for the Conservatives, although, yet again it can be said that they could have done much more in their thirteen years in this sector. Progress was also made in the area of education as 6000 new schools and 11 new universities were constructed and many more were expanded. However their was a big debate about the merits of comprehensive and grammar schools. Marx believed labor to be one of man s greatest sources of pleasure, but in order to be fulfilled at work, workers would need to see an extension of themselves in the objects they create. In an attempt to remedy this injustice, Marx calls for the redistribution of the wealth of the massive corporations that were making so much surplus money into the hands of the people responsible for it. Regarding human relation, Marx saw our system as the source of great misery. Contrary to popular belief, Marx did not see the people of the West as evil . For example, he was acutely aware of the sorrows that lay behind bourgeois marriage. The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation (Marx).
