Islamofascists Hate Teddy Bears
Radical Islamofascists Murder Innocent Teddy Bears Many on the left care more about trees and
animals than human beings. Ironically, the 9/11 terrorists murdered trees and bunny rabbits. It seems
the terrorists have crossed a line so heinous that even leftist ostriches will have to remove their heads
from...well, let s call it sand. Algerian hackers committed a chilling story of animal barbarism.
Geographically mixed up Algerian hackers made themselves look rather silly by defacing the website
of an English stately home instead of Belvoir Fortress in Israel, their intended target. Belvoir Castle, a
Royalist stronghold during the English Civil War, by contrast, is best known these days as the host of
an annual teddy bears picnic. 64 This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert was from Chicago and resembled a teddy bear. Republican

Temper Vs Birth Order Essay
I was the second/last child born in my family. I feel that birth order has had a true effect on my
behavior and my personality. It s very easy to compare me with my brother. My brother is the oldest.
He strives to achieve his goal and , as of right now, he s doing a pretty well job with striving.
Comparing him with me, I am more of a social person. I like to hangout with my friends and be social.
I am also more humorous than many people may think. He is more of a serious person. Also, he
sometimes worries about me, only because he wants me to make sure I achieve my goals just as he is
trying to achieve his. Achieving goals isn t just something my brother does just because he is first
born. An Iranian culture is very goal oriented. My dad always told me that if I want to pursue a career
as a lawyer or a doctor, I must do what I can to get to that goal. Since then, I have been interning at the
Milton City Court and Milton Police Department to help me get to my goal to be a lawyer. Nature vs.
Nurture has played a huge part in my life. My temper has definitely been brought upon from my dad,
which is nature. The reason I know my temper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

friends a lot more than usual and I would ve communicated with my family a lot more than usual as
well. Also, knowing what is going on in the area around me has helped to either take caution or to
help. For example, I knew about the clown case because I read about it online on my phone, so I knew
to be careful when walking the streets. I knew about the Black Lives Matter protest in Atlanta and read
about what was going on and that situation called for help. The media just helps keep me up to date

Becoming Madame Mao By Anchee Min
Becoming Madame Mao, written by Anchee Min, is the account of Mao Zedong s wife, and her rise to
political power of the Chinese Communist Party along with her husband. Madame Mao, throughout
her life, works hard to earn her status in society and, along with making a name for herself, gaining
rights and respect for all women. Through a series of transition, Madame Mao is referred to with three
different name, Yunhe, Lan Ping, and Jiang Ching, which correspond to her growing defiance of
gender roles in Chinese society. Madame Mao earns her first name, Yunhe, when she enrolls in a local
elementary school. The name Yunhe, which means Crane in the Clouds is given to her by her
grandfather. According to Madame Mao, the crane is a symbol of hope ... Show more content on

This name is given to her by her husband, Mao Zedong. She says, Jiang Ching summarizes a
traditional saying: Green comes out of blue but is richer than blue (158). This name is an allusion to
what will happen later in her life. As Mao and Jiang Ching grow older together, their relationship
deteriorates. The love Mao once had for Jiang Ching is replaced by the love for his affairs with new
virgins every night. Instead of love, what Jiang Ching now is in search for from her marriage with
Mao is power. As Kang Sheng says, Her role is to play Mao s most trusted comrade It is the only way
to empower [her]self (210). Jiang Ching was, at one point, jealous of Premier Zhou En lai s wife,
Deng Yin chao and Wang Guang mei, wife of Vice Chairman Liu, for they were beautiful, wise and
adored by their husbands. As time passes, however, Jiang Ching gives up the typical role of a Chinese
woman in exchange for hopes of becoming a major player in the Chinese Communist Party. It is soon
after that Jiang Ching becomes the command of the ideology side of Mao s

ECT In The Film One Flew Over The Cuckoo s N
Prior to this assignment, my feelings from electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) solely came from images
in the media. Two instances that stand out to me is the portrayal of ECT in an episode of American
Horror Story: Asylum and from the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest. Although I realize
media is not an accurate representation of reality, these scenes stood out to me due to the intense,
emotional display of ECT s effects through the patient s eyes. Despite the unrealistic depiction of
ECT, one accurate aspect of the scenes is that ECT was commonly used during the 1960s 1970s to
improve mental disturbances and a variety of psychological disorders. I think the reason these scenes
stood out to me was that ECT was implemented without the patient s informed consent or agreement
upon the treatment regimen, utilized as a way to subdue patients into compliance. Contrary to modern
use of ECT, this type of therapy was used as a form of punishment, implemented ... Show more

I learned that often times, ECT is used along with a general anesthesia and a brief electrical current
initiated to trigger a brief seizure. Likewise, I realized that ECT is the preferred treatment when other
options are not as well tolerated. After becoming more familiar with the procedure, it seems as though
ECT may be a more desirable option than pharmacological interventions as drug interventions may
require more time to become effective. Sometimes when a patient s signs and symptoms are
overwhelming, interfering with their daily life, time is of the essence and ECT provides a quicker
relief for individuals with immediate risk. After several years and improvement technology, ECT has
become much safer in the past, presenting minimal possible risks memory loss, confusion, headache

Ethnic Stereotypes In The Pawnbroker
After the Holocaust and World War II, many filmmakers and directors neglected to create politically
charged media in order to avoid criticism. Only decades after the events of the Holocaust did
Hollywood start to engage itself with the topic, but these works struggled to succeed as they faced
harsh comments from Jewish and secular critics alike. These films, produced with truly the most
sensitive and educational intentions, ended up perpetuating ethnic stereotypes for the same reasons.
There was a gap between Hollywood s preconceived notions about their productions in regard to
themes and the aspects that critics actually picked up on. Through my narrative discovery, background
on the time period, summary and analysis of the film, and contemporary responses to the film I will
explain how these stereotypes came about in film at the time and how people responded to them while
also touching on the impact of the Holocaust on survivors. The Pawnbroker is a perfect example of a
film that deals with both the lasting effect of Holocaust and the stereotyping of a multitude of
characters (Dir Lumet 1964). Different audiences and critics focus on these two pieces, characterizing
the film in accordance with its timestamp.
Once assigned this paper, I started looking into the specific traits and themes that characterized Jewish
film from each decade. Jewish Experience on Film An American Overview, by Joel Rosenberg,

Sklovsky Art As Device Essay
Viktor Shklovsky: Art as Technique or Art as Device Viktor Borisovich Shklovsky (1893 1984) was
one of the founders of the intellectual movement OPOJAZ (Obščestvo izučenija Poètičeskogo
Jazyka), translated as Society for the Study of Poetic Language . Furthermore, Shklovsky was a
formalist and closely tied to Russian Formalism; Shklovsky, Boris Eichenbaum, [Vladimir Propp],
Yary Tynyanov, and other Formalists sought to put literary theory on a par with the natural sciences
(Davis 51). For one thing, these gentlemen sought to understand art by breaking it down into parts and
identifying the different devices in play, collections of devices that interact in a textual field (Davis
51). It was in 1917 that Shklovsky, at an astonishing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As Daniel Gunn stated it was Shklovsky who felt that: Familiarity is our enemy, [...], and the idea of
defamiliarization reminds us of the way art requires an intensity of perception forces us to look again,
to see, almost for the first time (28). To thoroughly illustrate his idea of defamiliarization Shklovsky
uses an example of his favourite author Leo Tolstoy, his story Kholstomer is narrated by a horse, of
which Teodor Mladenov says; Human relations are seen through the eyes of a horse, which
defamiliarizes the institution of private property, illuminating its conventional and contingent
character (545). Shklovsky s example highlights the significance of defamiliarization, and German
philosopher Martin Heidegger even claims that: One needs to experience the world as uncanny
(unheimlich, which also means unhomely ) in order to be freed from the internalized and automatized
clichés of the publicly accepted norms of conduct (Mladenov 545). It is quite apparent that Shklovsky
admired Leo Tolstoy and his ability to use his method of seeing things out of their normal context

Farmers Market Research Paper
After standing in line for forty minutes at a supermarket, Americans finally get to pay for the food and
leave. Unfortunately, the food is anything but fresh or healthy and has traveled very far to get to the
final destination. Farmers Markets (FMs) are an old tradition that has barely survived this long due to
the rise of the industrial farms and supermarkets. They provide the easiest way to get very fresh and
healthy food, but prices can be very high at times. Even though food from a Farmers Market is more
expensive, it provides an easy way to get fresh and healthy produce while helping the farmer and the
community it represents. Farmers Markets should be promoted because they provide fresh and healthy
food and support the farmer directly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Time, The latest research finds that the amounts of farmers market vouchers don t
contribute to a meaningful increase in fruit and vegetable intake, and that prices for produce were
lower at grocery stores than at the markets. this shows that it is significantly cheaper to purchase your
produce at a grocery store rather than a FM. Also, these markets are only open for a few months a year
due to winter, so they can be unreliable at times. According to FMC, Some markets are only open in
the spring, summer, and early autumn. Since they are only open a few months a year and can

better alternative to supermarkets and grocery stores. According to Joel Salatin on page 185 of The
Omnivore s Dilemma, Whenever I hear people say clean food is expensive, I tell them it s actually the
cheapest food you can buy. Joel Salatin believes that in the long run, it will cost you less because the
food is healthier and will save you money in doctor visits. Although FMs may be expensive and
unreliable at times, it is a good price to pay for the food you are getting and will save you money in

Relationship Between T Cell Regulation And Type I Diabetes
Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships and mechanisms between T cell
regulation and type I diabetes by using NOD mice model. NOD mice can spontaneously develop a
form of autoimmune diabetes which is similar to human Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus. T cells
can destroy beta cells of the pancreatic islets which can produce insulin. Thus, by analyzing the
development of NOD mice autoimmune diabetes to determine potential treatment for type I diabetes.
Introduction
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases. There are different kinds of diabetes mellitus, but
an abnormal blood sugar level over an extended time always can be detected from patients who have
this disease. Type one diabetes mellitus also known as insulin dependent diabetes, patients with this
type of diabetes have pancreatic beta cells destruction causing absolute lack of insulin with a tendency
to ketoacidosis. It can occur at any age, but more commonly occurs in young people. Patients with
acute onset of metabolic disorders symptoms need insulin injections to survive. This type of diabetes
including immune mediated and idiopathic two subtypes. Immune mediated diabetes often has one or
more autoantibodies present, for example, islet cell antibodies (ICA), insulin autoantibodies (IAA) and
glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies.

Analysis Of In The Next Room Or The Vibrator Play
The Ohio University Theater Division s production of In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play
explored the use of vibration therapy in the early 20th century as a way to cure hysteria. The
playwright Sarah Ruhl beautifully uses the intertwining lives lives of a doctor his patients and his wife
to examine female sexuality, male incompetence, science, marriage, and love. Most of the plot has to
do with female and male patients being treated for hysteria and what outcome the vibrator has on the
lives of the characters in medical and domestic ways. This play really highlights the personal
discovery of sexuality and of women beginning to achieve marital sex that isn t only for their husband
s pleasure. This production of the vibrator play used the contrast of a parlor and a doctor s laboratory
on a rotating set to help the audience understand the constant blend of science and society in a
historical setting.
The rotating set was a unique challenge for this production and while it was a bit distracting at times it
did add a lot to the quality of the production as a whole. There are many instances where the focus
should be on one of the rooms and not the other and to help achieve this very specific blocking is
implemented. For example, there is a scene in the first act where Mrs. Givings sits in the parlor and
hears Mrs. Daldry s moans for the first time as she is being treated in the laboratory. The focus of the
scene is on Mrs. Givings s reaction to the moaning and the flickering

Similarities Between China And America
The United States of America and China have a rough relationship, but it is clear to anyone that they
are the two biggest superpowers in the world. These two countries have the highest GDP (gross
domestic product) out of any other country, and they are both very influential over other countries,
making them the two largest powers in the world. Being two major powerhouses, the two countries
have many similarities, and after taking a closer look at the geography, people, and history of the two
countries, it becomes evident that there are many differences as well. The geography of the United
States varies in many ways. Being the third largest country in the world, at 3,717,727 square miles, the
U.S. has lots of space for different types of land. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the world with a staggering 1,403,500,365 people. That is almost one seventh of the entire population

that they have after their first, to try and get their population down. The population may be much
higher than the U.S., however, the median house income is much lower at just over $10,000. About
half of the population works in manufacturing, and the other half works in the service industry. The
majority of people are some Chinese, although there are many ethnic groups that would all be
considered Chinese, the most common being Han. The next most common race is Mongol, followed
by Korean, Russian, and Uzbek. Unlike the United States, there are two official languages in China,
Mandarin Chinese and Standard Mandarin. Mandarin Chinese is mostly spoken in the north and
southwest parts of the country and Standard Mandarin is mainly spoken everywhere else. The two
most followed religions in China are Buddhism and Taoism. There is also a very large amount of

Ethical and Legal Issues with DNA Profiling
Introduction Deoxyribonucleic acidity (DNA) fingerprint scanning service is really a fundamental
technique which is used all through the global communities every day. The procedure associated with
DNA fingerprint scanning service was initially produced by the geneticist, Alec Jefferys, in the
University of Leicester situated in England, in the year 1984 (as cited in Lampton, 1991). Both
primary kinds of DNA utilized in the actual profiling procedure consist of mitochondrial as well as
nuclear DNA (Adams, 2005). DNA fingerprint scanning service can be further utilized to resolve
paternity instances, to fit a claimed dad with his child. The procedure has also been essential within
the legal proper rights program, this provides precise proof in order to convict suspects or even release
them pertaining to the proof attained. An essential part associated with DNA fingerprint scanning
service within the department of healthcare and relative areas is actually the utilization in detecting
genetic as well as hereditary problems. Additionally, DNA fingerprint scanning service assists to not
only identify these problems but also provide appropriate remedies in a timely manner as well
(Adams, 2005). An additional essential utilization of DNA fingerprint scanning service is the fact that
it will also help reveal mysterious sufferers within devastating circumstances, like the Sept 11th strike

Biblical Teaching On The Creation Of Man And The Image Of God
Introduction This paper will attempt to demonstrate the following assertions: 1) Mankind is created in
the Image of God, 2) Every human being is created with (and maintains throughout their life) the
dignity, value, and worth that comes from being an image bearer of the Creator God of the Universe,
and 3) God, as the Creator, has sovereign rule over all matters of life and death. These goals will be
accomplished by first examining the Biblical teaching on the creation of man and woman in the Image
of God. After examining some texts, establishing that mankind is created in God s Image, I will
discuss the implication of this assertion: namely, that every human life is sacred. Finally, I will look at
how God s sovereignty should inform our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Genesis 5:1 again tells us that man was made in the likeness of God, but it teaches us something else
as well. The same word for Hebrew word for likeness (demuth) is used to describe the birth of Seth, a
son in Adam s own likeness. So, not only were Adam and Eve made in the image of God, their
offspring were likewise made in the image of God. Our third passage shows us that this truth has
carried on throughout the generations. Genesis 9:6 tells: Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man
shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. One of the most important aspects of
these last two passages is that they come after the Fall. There is no indication that the Image of God
has been removed from humanity as a result of their rebellion against God.
Human Dignity Knowing that mankind is created in the Image of God has implications for how we
should view all human beings. As we read in Genesis 9:6 (listed above), we see the God ordained
penalty for taking a human life. This strict punishment for the taking of human life is rooted in our
creation by God in His own image. The Sixth Commandment emphasizes and clarifies the warning in
Genesis 9:6, as God commands His people, You shall not murder (Exodus 20:13). The taking of
innocent human life is explicitly forbidden by God, because all human beings have intrinsic value by
virtue of our creation in God s Image. There is no corresponding

Main Features Of Perfect Competition
Perfect competition is a type of market structre where there is highest level of competition. In perfect
competition the firms are offering homogeneous product. Every firm believe that it can sell any
amount of output it wishes at the prevailing market price. Because of homogenous product and large
number of firms, no individual firm is in a position to effect the price of the product and therefore the
demand curve for the firm under perfect competition is a horizontal straight line. 2.2 Meaning of
Perfect Competition In Perfect competition there are a large number of buyers and sellers. Each seller
is producing a very small level of industry s output, no individual buyer or seller can influence the
price of the product. The products produced under perfect competition are homogenous, and each firm
believes that it can sell any amount of output at the prevailing price. The economic agents have perfect
knowledge about the market conditions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Large Numbers of Sellers and Buyers: The industry or market includes a large number of firms (and
buyers) so that each individual firm, however large supplies only a small part of the total quantity
offered in the market. The buyers are also numerous so that no monopolistic power can affect the
working of the market. Under these conditions each firm alone cannot affect the price in the market by
changing its output. 2. Product Homogeneity: All the firms produces homogenous product. A buyer
cannot differentiate among the products produced by different firms, and hence pay a uniform price
for the goods produced by different firms. The assumptions of large number of sellers and of product
homogeneity imply that the individual firm in immaculate rivalry is a price taker, and therefore the
demand curve is considerably elastic, representing that the firm can offer any quantity of yield at the

Essay On The Atomic Bomb
Ethan Hasert English Comp. Per. 4 Atomic Bomb Oppenheimer once said: Now I am become Death,
the Destroyer of Worlds (recited from the Bhagavad Gita). That was the day of Trinity, the first test of
an atomic bomb s raw, awesome power. It was the beginning of a deadly technology that is ever
evolving to reach more dangerous heights: atomic and nuclear weapons. These weapons have only
been fired twice, and yet the entire world is on edge when a country threatens to use them. The Atomic
bomb was created out of fear and necessity; to be used for such a purpose; but it was still a weapon of
mass destruction. At first, the greatest fear of the Allied science community was the fact that the Nazis
had already started work on atomic weapons. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was even a plan to use an atomic bomb on the Nazis, but their surrender prevented its use. The
Atomic and Nuclear bombs are weapons of mass destruction. Even before their use there was, a
petition among the scientists opposing the use of the bomb on moral grounds (p 5, Simkin). Since
there was no singling out a certain person in their use, both types of bombs will destroy everything
and anything in their way. It s why they can be so useful. The use of an atomic bomb is a message to
the rest of society, a statement of power and having the will to use it. Yet, it comes at the cost of
thousands of civilian lives. People thought of it afterwards as, a great atrocity: a mass killer of women,
children and the aged, a cynical Cold War gambit, the blinding dawn of a tense and troubled half
century known as the Atomic Age (p 2, Lifton and Putnam). The only way to combat this, is the threat
of mutual destruction. The Cold War is a perfect example of this. There the Soviet Union and the
United States threatened the use of nuclear weapons. If both sides had attacked each other, the world
would have been doomed to suffer a nuclear winter for hundreds of years killing millions if not
billions of people in the process. With the dissolvement of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Red Menace
was mostly gone. Though to say the threat of nuclear war was over would be false. Until recently,

The Employment Status Of An Employee
During the old days, employment status is rather straightforward. However, as days went by, with the
progress of society as well as technology, the nature of employment becomes more complex. Thus the
employment status becomes vague, and in the event of employment disputes, the employment status is
evaluated by the court of law based on the test of mutuality of obligation. The test of mutuality of
obligation used in relation to the establishment of the employment status is closely related to
employment rights. Many employment rights are highly dependent on the ability to establish the status
of an employee. However there is no useful statutory definition on employee . The closest definition
can be found in the Employment Right Acts 1996 (ERA 1996), section 230(1), but it is in a form of a
circular, and thus it is of little help. Therefore, it is left to the courts to define what is an employee.
Over the years, a number of tests have been developed to help the courts to make judgement. The
employment status test identifies that, the employer has an obligation to provide work for the
employee and there must be a reciprocate obligation by the employee. Failing these, a person is
unlikely be classed as an employee (Bebbington Palmer). However, the application of these tests is not
always easy or straightforward. The historical development on the tests for employee status showed
that it had evolved from one of control (Yewens v Noakes) to

Prayer On The Life Of A Minister
There is no substitute for prayer in the life of a minister. It is something that has to be an intentional
part of every day, but this is not always an easy task. Even Jesus had to work to incorporate prayer
into his daily routine rising early and going away from the others to spend time with God (Mark 1:35
37). If a minister is not careful, finding time to pray can feel like a burden, yet, it is one of the most
precious privileges that was bought for mankind through the blood of Jesus Christ. Prayer for a
minister goes beyond the developing of a vibrant relationship with God. A Pastor is called to pray the
prayers of the people, he is to pray with the sick and poor and he is to teach his people the importance
of prayer and how to incorporate it into their daily lives.
A Foundation of Prayer
The Bible states that there will always be people in need, and it is our duty to reach out and help to the
best of our ability (Deuteronomy 15:11). Hebrews 13:2 is a reminder not to miss an opportunity to
show kindness to a stranger, it just might be an angel that is being cared for. Matthew 25:34 36 gives
further clarification on how to serve the needy; For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I
was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and
you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. (NASB)

capacity. To look at FVC I am interested in looking at the largest amount of air a person can forcefully
exhale and continue exhaling for 6 seconds after breathing in as deeply as a person can. If gender has
an effect on FVC then males will have a greater FVC than the FVC of females. If there is a correlation

Myth Of Truth Analysis
Truth has always been a very vague and grey area for many people, it s something that cannot be
agreed on by every single person. Each person has their own set of past experiences that have built
upon their morals, values and ethics. This ties in with their overall idea of why they view truth and lies
in the way that do. Professor Hedrick is interesting in the way that she teaches literature through the
historical point of view, proving background information that enables students to build upon this
background knowledge and find the interpretation for that piece of literature. Much like our differing

Benefits Of A Child s Nutrition
Fruits and vegetables have a very essential role in our diet. Studies have shown the importance of
sufficient fruit and vegetable consumption in stopping chronic diseases like cardiovascular diseases,
cancers, diabetes and obesity. According to 2000 report, 2.7 million deaths and 1.8% all diseases
worldwide could be attributed to inadequate F V intake (Najimi, 2013). Starting to eat well when
young is important. Research has proven that interventions at a young age can impact good behavior
such as good nutritional habits that get carried on into adulthood. Furthermore, ages 7 to 12 is when a
child should get nutrients for growing. Therefore, the significance of a child s nutrition becomes more
of a need than ever (Najimi, 2013). Examples of the benefits of kids eating healthy when young are
good mental activities, prevention of problems and complications like anaemia, obesity, digestive
disorders, and tooth decay and chronic and dangerous diseases in the long term (Najimi, 2013).
Complicated health problems are determined by health behaviour theories, since it can impact factors
on behaviour by giving context to be able to better grasp its components and their role. The social
cognitive theory is a theory that is applied for looking at psychological effects on behaviors as well as
changing behavior and it focuses on mutual interactions of persons, behavior and environment.

OPERATIONS SECURITY (OPSEC) DID YOU KNOW? A U.S. Government official on sensitive

Compare And Contrast Homeless People And The Homeless
Have you ever thought of how privileged many of us are? Or what life would be like if everything was
taken away from us? As of 2016, more than 169 people were homeless in Jackson, Michigan. This
number isn t going down. With Jackson s many homeless inhabitants, there are also over 338 children
in the foster care system just in our county alone. When comparing homeless people and foster care
children, they are very similar. Both of them do not have a permanent home and both have nothing to
hope for in the future. As many of you know, Jackson isn t the largest county in the world. Something

Most of these kids cannot find a proper home to take care of them or even adopt them in the near
future. The only things that they bear are maybe one outfit and a few things that they carry around in a
tattered grocery bag. This isn t the child s fault. This isn t the parents fault. This is our fault for not
stepping up and taking action when we hear cries of help from these children. Since no one in Jackson
County is willing to bring these hurting kids into their homes and help take care of them, they are sent
off to boarding schools that are in the northern part of Michigan. Not only are they torn away from the
only things they know, but they are also taken away from where they grew up. These kids experience
great pain almost everyday of their life. Most of the children think it is their fault. They think that no

Abercrombie Fitch Co., also known as A F, was founded in 1892 by David Abercrombie and Ezra

was from its beginning a kind of elite outfitter of expensive sporting and excursion goods. The
company, with more than two hundred subsidiaries around the world, sells casual apparel for men,

The company retails different products such as casual sportswear apparel woven shirts, graphic T

However, Alibaba is another option and might motivate many American customers to learn about the
Chinese company. For Abercrombie Fitch, this means a lot more competition online. Nevertheless, it
could be even harder to survive online than in shopping malls.
When it came to 2013 revenue, Abercrombie Fitch faced a 9% year over year drop, while Aeropostale
fell 12%. Abercrombie Fitch saw its net income fall 58%, while Aeropostale had a net loss difference
of $69,629,000 from the same quarter of both fiscal years 2012 to 2013. In 2014, retailers seem to
have unexpected deliveries within their products. This year, A F had good profit after several quarters
without doing so. Its shares have gained 25%, however, this huge gain did not come from improving
industry trends. Such increment happened after improving sales plus the announcement that it would
introduce lower price points to compete with low cost teen apparel retailers efficiently, such as H M,
Forever 21, and UNIQLO.
Even though it has experienced hard competition with other companies that sell low cost teen apparel,
Abercrombie has avoid industry changes on its price points as its pricing power can decrease and
thereby eliminate its dignity on the eyes of its customers. It s not a surprise because customers assign
more quality to expensive products. This has affected its unit volumes as well as excessive inventory

Liver Catalase Lab Report
Effects of Temperature on Decomposition of H2O2 by Liver Catalase
Introduction A countless number of chemical reactions occur in the human body at any given time in
order to carry out cellular processes necessary for continued functioning. These reactions can
sometimes result in harmful byproducts such as hydrogen peroxide or H2O2. Catalase is an enzyme
contained within organelles called peroxisomes that decompose the toxic H2O2 down into water and
oxygen gas. Enzymes are a type of protein that are catalysts of biochemical reactions, meaning that
they speed up the rate of reaction through various ways by lowering the amount of activation energy
required for each reaction. Each enzyme has an optimal temperature range at which it functions ...

Catalase is found in nearly all aerobic organisms, and one molecule can break down millions of H2O2
molecules every second. It works by first reducing a H2O2 molecule bonded to its active site through
taking an oxygen away with its Fe3+ component, which releases a water molecule into the cytosol.
Then, the enzyme will bond with a second H2O2 molecule and oxidize it by giving it the oxygen from
the first H2O2 molecule, releasing O2 and another water molecule into the cytoplasm. This catalytic
cycle then repeats indefinitely.
The purpose of this study is to test how changing the temperature of the liver, which was the catalase
source, would affect the rate of reaction with H2O2. If temperature increases then there would be less
O2 released because proteins denature when temperatures are too high, losing their shape and ability
to carry out their intended function.
Materials and Methods
For a detailed list of required materials, refer to the enzyme lab handout section C. The independent
variable in this study was temperature. The dependent variable was rate of reaction, measured
qualitatively on a scale of one to five based on the number of bubbles observed as the reaction took
place. The amount of liver and H2O2, the ambient temperature, and the observation time allotted for
each reaction were control variables that were kept constant throughout.
First, three small pieces of liver were placed into separate test tubes and covered with a small

A Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
First, the identification of a licensed chemical dependency counselor would suffice at the moment. A
licensed chemical dependency counselor are counselors that specialize in identifying and treating
addictive behaviors that are maladaptive, altered from cognitive imbalance, and from physiological
discrepancies, or frequent intoxication to achieve homeostasis or functionality to some extent. In other
words, licensed chemical dependency counselors establish and implement treatments to help people
cure their addictions from substances which they are chemically dependent on. Second, the nature of
chemical dependency is to be acknowledged. The nature of chemical dependency is not very well
understood by human population. Many people see addictions as diseases, immoral behaviors or sins,
as maladaptive behaviors, and some may view such substance dependence as out of control behaviors
as well. However, chemical or substance dependency is a mental issue. The mind tells the body that it
needs a certain substance to function, it is a craving that is difficult for the body to ignore, and the
body cannot function until such a need is met. The change in behaviors, mood and conscious
motivates the mind further to continue finding ways to meet this need. Therefore, there is not only an
addiction, but a chemical dependency issue as well. It is strong and difficult to defeat. It is strong
enough that it may cause some people to conduct criminal activities or infringe upon the rights and

of the obligation to help those in need in the moment rather than establishing long lasting systems of
aid. For Singer, all individuals are on equal grounds and he focuses on methods that will save the

Case Study On Refactoring
Survey of Software Refactoring Summary: The paper published by Tom Mens and Tom Tourwe
provides us an overview of existing research in software refactoring. The refactoring activities,
techniques, formalisms and the types of artifacts are taken into criteria. Since the software has been
evolving with time, the code has become more complex, hence the software development cost s major
part is given to software maintenance. Refactoring or restructuring is the problem which implies the
need of techniques that reduce software complexity by improving software quality. Refactoring is the
process of changing a software system in such a way that it does not alter the external behavior of the
code, yet improves its internal structure . The classes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, automation, reliability, configurability, coverage and scalability or refactoring tools are
considered. Process Support: Software reengineering is important to restructure the old software,
which is essentially done by refactoring method. Evolution conflicts arise when parallel refactoring is
done. Same is the case with object oriented application frameworks, software families/ product line.
Critique: Firstly, refactoring cannot be applied for the codes written in non object oriented languages.
Secondly, refactoring cannot be done for the processes with less delivery time, this is because
refactoring requires considerable amount of time for testing. Thirdly, the refactoring process fails even
though it does not alter the behavior of the program. Next, the refactoring process depends on the
complexity of code and the errors and the design of the code. Refactoring won t be a good idea for
very complex codes. When the refactoring process is applied to a complex and high error code, the
rate of success is too low. The entire system is affected due to the loss of so much time and the cost
invested on the refactoring

The Skin Of African Americans
Beneath the Surface
Have you ever wanted to walk in someone else s shoes for a day and see what life is like for people on
the other side of the planet? Would you be more thankful for the life you have and the skin you live
in? The environment, food, and habits are different for everyone depending on where they live in the
world. Americans have the ability to see the flexibility in these components, but other countries can
not afford to change these factors to benefit their skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body, the
Sudanese and American families must be able to promote a healthy lifestyle to maintain and enhance
their skin.
African Americans have learned to adapt to the different environments all around the world and how
the affects of their lifestyles change their bodies. African American skin adapts to climate differently
than those of white decent. For instance, African Americans have naturally oily skin, when they move
to weather with harsher temperature factors like the sun and weather patterns can cause them to have
skin problems. Cold weather causes their skin to crack and discolor because they are meant to have
oily skin and are able to adapt to warmer climates better than others (Aretha C Smith) (William
Robertson Boggs). The environment and healthy foods both contribute to healthy skin. It is
significantly easier for the Aboubakar family (Sudanese family) to adapt to the climate in their region
of the world because the weather is normally hot. This

The Christian s Acts Of Faith
We ve all been there before, searching for something to watch on TV, 500 channels and nothing
catches our attention until we hear the yelling of the televangelist, YOU JUST GOTTA HAVE FAITH!
QUIT TRYING TO UNDERSTAND IT ALL! LET GO AND LET GOD! For some that may be the
solution they are searching for. They might be frustrated or let down by their own efforts of
understanding. But does faith begin with letting go (of reason and understanding) and letting God
(reveal Himself to us) ? Is there any compatibility between exercising Christian faith and exercising
reason? Does reason have a role or should it have a role in the Christian s acts of faith? This has been
a topic of discussion throughout history by many great thinkers. I am going to attempt to show that
reason has an active role in exercising the Christian faith; at least attempt to show that reason and faith
aren t mutually exclusive. I will briefly discuss (1) different views of the philosophical divide taken by
philosophizers over the ages (2) and biblical evidence of the use of reason (3) definition of biblical
faith.
The apparent conflict between faith and reason has brought much trouble to believers and non
believers alike through the centuries. Influences like Immanuel Kant in his Critique of Pure Reason
penned these words: I have therefore found it necessary to deny knowledge in order to make room for
faith (1965, B:XXX) and Soren Kierkegaard held that the absolute limit to which our reason

and there are two types of bows for this instrument, the French bow, and the German bow. The French
bow is used overhand, the back of the hand facing the listener, and the German bow is used underarm,
the thumb facing upward. The French bow is similar to the cello, but shorter and thicker, and the
German bow is slimmer, with thinner horsehair. The double bass is the only modern bowed string

Concrete Project Report
Introduction
We were requested to write a report for a client that are looking to build a new parking garage in the
Bloemfontein area. The client also requsted from us to not just advise him/her on what type of
concrete to be used, but also to give him/her a broad understanding of the different types of concrete.
Some of the aspects that will be discussed in this report are as follows:
1. Special concrete and its application
2. Admixtures
3. Types of extenders
This report will also contain our detailed recommendation in the form of foundation, floor slabs,
columns and beams. It is important to look at the soil conditions and weather conditions for example
temperature and other factors that could have an negative effect on the concrete. Before doing the
design and classifying the concrete to be used a site investigation should be done and testes required
should be carried out. The design has a massive impact on the concrete that would be used. For the
purpose of this report I would assume a site with good soil and no clayed partials were found.
Before we start we should get a better understanding of what concrete is its positives and negatives its
strengths and its weaknesses.
Strength of concrete is dependent on a number of factors; one of the most important factors is the
cement water ratio. The lower the ratio is, the higher the final strength of the concrete would be.
Typical values for this ratio

Summary Of The Symposium
Lost Objectivity in the Symposium The Symposium was written by Plato to illustrate a discussion
between a group of friends. Additionally, the story presents numerous arguments that focus on the god
Love and its merits. To pass time while they drink, Eryximachus suggests that each of the guests orate
a eulogy of love. The guests proceed to participate in oration; however, their analysis of love may not
be as objective as it seems. Rather than focus on an impartial view of the god, many of them have
their own personal beliefs that they promote in each of their speeches. Several speeches heavily
deviate from a speech about love, and turn it into a speech that uses love to support and justify their
beliefs. Characters in the Symposium twist the meaning of love to fit their own principles, rather than
provide an objective assessment. Pausanias s speech utilizes love to justify his relationships with
younger boys. Pausanias s speech begins by outlining two distinct types of love: It follows, therefore,
that the same distinction of title Common and Celestial should be applied to the different Loves who
are the associates of one or the other Aphrodite (180e). There are two different gods of love; therefore,
Pausanias argues there should also be two specific types of love. Common Love is the love for the
body, while Celestial Love is the love for someone s intellect. This distinction is critical, as he
expounds upon who can experience Celestial love: [T]he Love who

ways to write letter formations in such things as shaving cream, on the iPad, or just writing on a
marker board with different colored markers. 8). There are many different
recommendations/accommodations I could give Leah s classroom teacher. Such as; Sitting on a disco
sit for Leah to try and control her movement. Chewlry or providing bubble gum for a class period so
she can chew on something rather than putting random objects in her mouth. Providing Leah a fidget
or Velcro under her desk to play with rather than having her touching things she should not be.
Allowing Leah to keep a letter strip at her desk for a quick reference, reminding her which way letters
go. And, when teaching hard letter formations use chalk on construction paper. This provides
increased sensory input by slowing the writing process

The Rise Of Donald Trump
With the rise of Donald Trump in the United States and of European far right wing parties (some with
fascist tendencies) we are seeing a new rise of conservatism in the western world in the last years.
Why has this happened so fast? Is a natural tendency that follows too liberal and progressive
governments? The western world is suffering an identity crisis, which has resulted in 2 antagonistic
groups that today face each other (a perfect example of this is the radicalization of the Democratic and
Republican party in the US).
We have those who want to completely broke from the classical western values and whish to reshape
the west favouring progress and relativism in one hand and in the other we have the people who
defend traditional western values in the form of Christianity and morality and want them to see them
implemented in the policies of their respective countries.
We can trace this radicalization according to Jim George to the liberalization of belief system in the
60s inside the Western countries especially the United States and outside these in the fight against
communism.
The appearance of these ideological trends generated a counter culture among traditionalist groups
that generated a boom in neoconservative thought. Both groups were an extremist minority within
their respective traditional ideological currents; the right and left.
However in recent years with the growing influx of refugees, the economic and security crisis coupled
with the loss of values in

Casey Martin Case Summary
Facts:
Casey Martin is a talented golfer with many achievements throughout his golf career. He also has a
disability under the ADA, known as the Klippel Trenaunay Weber Syndrome, affecting the flow of
blood from this right leg back to his heart. The disease is progressive, causing severe pain, where if he
walked an 18 hole golf course, it would create a risk of hemorrhaging, developing blood clots, etc.
When Martin became a professional golfer, he qualified for the final round of the qualifying
competition. He made a request to use a golf cart during the professional tours, supporting his
reasoning with medical records; PGA Tour, Inc. refused because the competitive nature of the game
would be fundamentally altered if Martin were given an unfair advantage.
Martin filed a suit under Title III of the ADA, which requires that an entity operating public
accommodations to make reasonable modifications in its policies when...necessary to afford
such...accommodations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul: The definition of place of exhibition or entertainment, [as a public accommodation, covered
participants] in some sport or activity [as well as] spectators or listeners. The court believes this
opinion applies with Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to golfers and golf tournaments, where
PGA cannot discriminate against spectators or competitors on the basis of disability. o PGA s golf
tours and their qualifying rounds fit within the scope of Title III and within Martin s protection, being
that a golf course is considered a public accommodation, where PGA leases these golf courses. PGA
must not discriminate against any individual in the full and equal enjoyment of the goods... Title III,
therefore, prohibits PGA from denying Martin equal access to the golf courses.
2. Allowing Martin to use a cart, aside the walking rule, is not a modification that would change the
nature of the game. The purpose of the walking rule is not compromised by allowing Martin to use a

The Death Penalty Is A Capital Punishment
What is the death penalty? The death penalty is a capital punishment that is punishable by death or
execution. This is usually given to people that have committed serious offences or capital crimes.
There are 31 states in the United States that are for the death penalty. Crimes that are punishable by
the death penalty, vary from state to state. Examples of such crimes are; first degree murder or
premeditated murder, murder with special circumstances, such as: intended, multiple, and murder
which involves another crime, rape with additional bodily harm, and the federal crime of treason. The
first known civilization to use some type of death penalty, were the Babylonian s. The Babylonians
developed a law called The Code of Hammurabi around the 1700 s BC, which consisted of twenty
five crimes, that were punishable by death. These crimes included adultery and helping slaves escape.
This code was to become the stepping stones of laws of many civilizations to come. In the Tenth
Century A.D., hanging became the usual method of execution in Britain. In the following next century,
William the Conqueror, king of England would not allow people to be executed for any crime, except
in times of war. This did not last, for in the Sixteenth Century, under the reign of Henry VIII, as many
as 72,000 people are estimated to have been executed, by boiling, burning at the stake, hanging, and
beheading. Capital punishment has had a long history in the United States. Before

How Racism Caused By Colonization, Age, And Gender Have A...
In 1958 Martin Luther King Jr. was quoted saying Hate begets hate; violence begets violence .
Unfortunately for some, the violence and hate they receive begets violence and hate deep into
themselves. For the Inuit people of northern Canada, racism presented through colonial violence and
acculturation has caused a crippling affliction. The effect of this violence has manifested itself into
various other forms of viciousness; domestic violence, substance abuse, neglect and self harm are only
a few. The perpetuation of this malicious cycle has created an exponential rise in violence against
oneself. Additionally, the process of growing up and creating an identity is extremely difficult.
Whereas, developing into an adult when faced with violence is exceptionally harder. Many young
Inuit males succumb to this hardship. In comparison to the general population, adolescent Inuit males
have a disproportionately high suicide rate. Through an intersectional analysis, I will examine the how
racism caused by colonization, age, and gender have caused one of the highest suicide rates in the
world.
The act of committing suicide in Inuit communities has changed drastically. Previously, an ill or elder
person would take their lives. This would be considered dying with ancient dignity as a response to
the burden they may put on their families (Kral, 2013). There were very few recorded suicides
amongst Inuit youth before the 1980 s (Working Group, 2009). The figures began to rise in the

Analysis Of The Book The Overthrow Regime Change On The...
1. What is Kinzer s thesis (what is he arguing in this book)?
Kinzer s thesis in the book the Overthrow is regime change in the United States. The author explains
how regime change has been happening over one hundred years and how it is nothing new for the
United States. He well explains and gives great example of how the United States is willing to do
anything to other governments in order for them to accomplish their goals. Kinzer states that the US
has overthrown fourteen different foreign governments around the world such as Hawaii, Chile, Iraq,
South Vietnam, and others. The government overthrows these countries without misgiving the
outcomes they will cause to them. In most cases, however, it acted mainly for economic reasons ...

Another example is the overthrow of Nicaragua. The United States overthrow Nicaragua with the
excuse that they wanted security for the US. When in reality it was because they were supporting
companies from the United States that wanted to work in Nicaragua. In my opinion, the United States
was an egoist in most of their overthrows because they only cared of their own benefits.
3. Geographically, where does each chapter focus (ie. Hawaii, Afghanistan, etc.)? Do any of the
locations surprise you?
Chapter one focuses on: Hawaii
Chapter two focuses on: Cuba, Philippines, Puerto Rico president McKinley
Chapter three focuses on: Nicaragua
Chapter four focuses on: Virginia, Honduras
Chapter six focuses on: Guatemala
Chapter seven focuses on: South Vietnam
Chapter eight focuses on: Chile
Chapter nine focuses on: Iran
Chapter ten focuses on: Grenada
Chapter eleven focuses on: Panama
Chapter twelve focuses on: Afghanistan
Chapter thirteen focuses on: Iraq
Chapter fourteen focuses on: Iraq
In reality, most of these locations surprise me because I would have never imagined that the US
overthrew many countries. I was never well informed of all the overthrows the US has done especially
in the way they did it. In most of the history classes, I have taken they usually try to make the US look
good and never like the bad country. For that reason, is why I really enjoyed and appreciated this
book.
4. Who are the main historical actors in each chapter (i.e. who are the

  • 3. Temper Vs Birth Order Essay I was the second/last child born in my family. I feel that birth order has had a true effect on my behavior and my personality. Also, he sometimes worries about me, only because he wants me to make sure I achieve my goals just as he is trying to achieve his. Achieving goals isn t just something my brother does just because he is first born. An Iranian culture is very goal oriented. My dad always told me that if I want to pursue a career as a lawyer or a doctor, I must do what I can to get to that goal. Since then, I have been interning at the Milton City Court and Milton Police Department to help me get to my goal to be a lawyer. Nature vs. Nurture has played a huge part in my life. Two instances that stand out to me is the portrayal of ECT in an episode of American Horror Story: Asylum and from the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest. Although I realize media is not an accurate representation of reality, these scenes stood out to me due to the intense, emotional display of ECT s effects through the patient s eyes. Despite the unrealistic depiction of ECT, one accurate aspect of the scenes is that ECT was commonly used during the 1960s 1970s to improve mental disturbances and a variety of psychological disorders. I think the reason these scenes stood out to me was that ECT was implemented without the patient s informed consent or agreement upon the treatment regimen, utilized as a way to subdue patients into compliance. • 6. Ethnic Stereotypes In The Pawnbroker After the Holocaust and World War II, many filmmakers and directors neglected to create politically charged media in order to avoid criticism. Only decades after the events of the Holocaust did Hollywood start to engage itself with the topic, but these works struggled to succeed as they faced harsh comments from Jewish and secular critics alike. These films, produced with truly the most sensitive and educational intentions, ended up perpetuating ethnic stereotypes for the same reasons. There was a gap between Hollywood s preconceived notions about their productions in regard to themes and the aspects that critics actually picked up on. Through my narrative discovery, background on the time period, summary and analysis of the film, and contemporary responses to the film I will explain how these stereotypes came about in film at the time and how people responded to them while also touching on the impact of the Holocaust on survivors. The Pawnbroker is a perfect example of a film that deals with both the lasting effect of Holocaust and the stereotyping of a multitude of characters (Dir Lumet 1964). Different audiences and critics focus on these two pieces, characterizing the film in accordance with its timestamp. To thoroughly illustrate his idea of defamiliarization Shklovsky uses an example of his favourite author Leo Tolstoy, his story Kholstomer is narrated by a horse, of which Teodor Mladenov says; Human relations are seen through the eyes of a horse, which defamiliarizes the institution of private property, illuminating its conventional and contingent character (545). Shklovsky s example highlights the significance of defamiliarization, and German philosopher Martin Heidegger even claims that: One needs to experience the world as uncanny (unheimlich, which also means unhomely ) in order to be freed from the internalized and automatized clichés of the publicly accepted norms of conduct (Mladenov 545). Relationship Between T Cell Regulation And Type I Diabetes Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships and mechanisms between T cell regulation and type I diabetes by using NOD mice model. NOD mice can spontaneously develop a form of autoimmune diabetes which is similar to human Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus. T cells can destroy beta cells of the pancreatic islets which can produce insulin. Thus, by analyzing the development of NOD mice autoimmune diabetes to determine potential treatment for type I diabetes. Introduction Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases. There are different kinds of diabetes mellitus, but an abnormal blood sugar level over an extended time always can be detected from patients who have this disease. Type one diabetes mellitus also known as insulin dependent diabetes, patients with this type of diabetes have pancreatic beta cells destruction causing absolute lack of insulin with a tendency to ketoacidosis. It can occur at any age, but more commonly occurs in young people. Patients with acute onset of metabolic disorders symptoms need insulin injections to survive. • 10. Analysis Of In The Next Room Or The Vibrator Play The Ohio University Theater Division s production of In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play explored the use of vibration therapy in the early 20th century as a way to cure hysteria. The playwright Sarah Ruhl beautifully uses the intertwining lives lives of a doctor his patients and his wife to examine female sexuality, male incompetence, science, marriage, and love. Most of the plot has to do with female and male patients being treated for hysteria and what outcome the vibrator has on the lives of the characters in medical and domestic ways. This play really highlights the personal discovery of sexuality and of women beginning to achieve marital sex that isn t only for their husband s pleasure. This production of the vibrator play used the contrast of a parlor and a doctor s laboratory on a rotating set to help the audience understand the constant blend of science and society in a historical setting. The rotating set was a unique challenge for this production and while it was a bit distracting at times it did add a lot to the quality of the production as a whole. There are many instances where the focus should be on one of the rooms and not the other and to help achieve this very specific blocking is implemented. For example, there is a scene in the first act where Mrs. Givings sits in the parlor and hears Mrs. Daldry s moans for the first time as she is being treated in the laboratory. The focus of the scene is on Mrs. Givings s reaction to the moaning and the flickering ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Genesis 5:1 again tells us that man was made in the likeness of God, but it teaches us something else as well. The same word for Hebrew word for likeness (demuth) is used to describe the birth of Seth, a son in Adam s own likeness. So, not only were Adam and Eve made in the image of God, their offspring were likewise made in the image of God. Our third passage shows us that this truth has carried on throughout the generations. Genesis 9:6 tells: Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. One of the most important aspects of these last two passages is that they come after the Fall. There is no indication that the Image of God has been removed from humanity as a result of their rebellion against God. Human Dignity Knowing that mankind is created in the Image of God has implications for how we should view all human beings. As we read in Genesis 9:6 (listed above), we see the God ordained penalty for taking a human life. This strict punishment for the taking of human life is rooted in our creation by God in His own image. The Sixth Commandment emphasizes and clarifies the warning in Genesis 9:6, as God commands His people, You shall not murder (Exodus 20:13). The use of an atomic bomb is a message to the rest of society, a statement of power and having the will to use it. Yet, it comes at the cost of thousands of civilian lives. However, as days went by, with the progress of society as well as technology, the nature of employment becomes more complex. Thus the employment status becomes vague, and in the event of employment disputes, the employment status is evaluated by the court of law based on the test of mutuality of obligation. The test of mutuality of obligation used in relation to the establishment of the employment status is closely related to employment rights. Many employment rights are highly dependent on the ability to establish the status of an employee. However there is no useful statutory definition on employee . The closest definition can be found in the Employment Right Acts 1996 (ERA 1996), section 230(1), but it is in a form of a circular, and thus it is of little help. Therefore, it is left to the courts to define what is an employee. Over the years, a number of tests have been developed to help the courts to make judgement. The employment status test identifies that, the employer has an obligation to provide work for the employee and there must be a reciprocate obligation by the employee. • 18. Prayer On The Life Of A Minister There is no substitute for prayer in the life of a minister. It is something that has to be an intentional part of every day, but this is not always an easy task. Even Jesus had to work to incorporate prayer into his daily routine rising early and going away from the others to spend time with God (Mark 1:35 37). If a minister is not careful, finding time to pray can feel like a burden, yet, it is one of the most precious privileges that was bought for mankind through the blood of Jesus Christ. Prayer for a minister goes beyond the developing of a vibrant relationship with God. A Pastor is called to pray the prayers of the people, he is to pray with the sick and poor and he is to teach his people the importance of prayer and how to incorporate it into their daily lives. A Foundation of Prayer The Bible states that there will always be people in need, and it is our duty to reach out and help to the best of our ability (Deuteronomy 15:11). Hebrews 13:2 is a reminder not to miss an opportunity to show kindness to a stranger, it just might be an angel that is being cared for. Matthew 25:34 36 gives further clarification on how to serve the needy; For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. Much like her students writing styles, she sees their speech, their viewpoints over the world change drastically in just a semester, some students regress and others thrive. Their interpretations open up and they come up to her with what they thought but she is no stranger to the lies students tell. In her long career, she has had many outlandish lies told to her, what students will do to get out of trouble or an extension on an exam or extra credit. The idea of lying to an authority figure that could end in severe consequences is a lie that many students would not think of before but when they enter the college scene, they change; some students would do anything to get a little extra credit. It s part of her job to be vigilant for the possible lies students may tell in an attempt to take advantage of her. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Liver Catalase Lab Report Effects of Temperature on Decomposition of H2O2 by Liver Catalase Introduction A countless number of chemical reactions occur in the human body at any given time in order to carry out cellular processes necessary for continued functioning. These reactions can sometimes result in harmful byproducts such as hydrogen peroxide or H2O2. Catalase is an enzyme contained within organelles called peroxisomes that decompose the toxic H2O2 down into water and oxygen gas. Enzymes are a type of protein that are catalysts of biochemical reactions, meaning that they speed up the rate of reaction through various ways by lowering the amount of activation energy required for each reaction. Each enzyme has an optimal temperature range at which it functions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catalase is found in nearly all aerobic organisms, and one molecule can break down millions of H2O2 molecules every second. It works by first reducing a H2O2 molecule bonded to its active site through taking an oxygen away with its Fe3+ component, which releases a water molecule into the cytosol. Then, the enzyme will bond with a second H2O2 molecule and oxidize it by giving it the oxygen from the first H2O2 molecule, releasing O2 and another water molecule into the cytoplasm. This catalytic cycle then repeats indefinitely. The purpose of this study is to test how changing the temperature of the liver, which was the catalase source, would affect the rate of reaction with H2O2. If temperature increases then there would be less O2 released because proteins denature when temperatures are too high, losing their shape and ability to carry out their intended function. Materials and Methods For a detailed list of required materials, refer to the enzyme lab handout section C. The independent variable in this study was temperature. The dependent variable was rate of reaction, measured qualitatively on a scale of one to five based on the number of bubbles observed as the reaction took place. The mind tells the body that it needs a certain substance to function, it is a craving that is difficult for the body to ignore, and the body cannot function until such a need is met. African Americans have learned to adapt to the different environments all around the world and how the affects of their lifestyles change their bodies. African American skin adapts to climate differently than those of white decent. For instance, African Americans have naturally oily skin, when they move to weather with harsher temperature factors like the sun and weather patterns can cause them to have skin problems. Cold weather causes their skin to crack and discolor because they are meant to have oily skin and are able to adapt to warmer climates better than others (Aretha C Smith) (William Robertson Boggs). • 39. Summary Of The Symposium Lost Objectivity in the Symposium The Symposium was written by Plato to illustrate a discussion between a group of friends. Additionally, the story presents numerous arguments that focus on the god Love and its merits. To pass time while they drink, Eryximachus suggests that each of the guests orate a eulogy of love. The guests proceed to participate in oration; however, their analysis of love may not be as objective as it seems. Rather than focus on an impartial view of the god, many of them have their own personal beliefs that they promote in each of their speeches. Several speeches heavily deviate from a speech about love, and turn it into a speech that uses love to support and justify their beliefs. Characters in the Symposium twist the meaning of love to fit their own principles, rather than provide an objective assessment. Pausanias s speech utilizes love to justify his relationships with younger boys. Pausanias s speech begins by outlining two distinct types of love: It follows, therefore, that the same distinction of title Common and Celestial should be applied to the different Loves who are the associates of one or the other Aphrodite (180e). There are two different gods of love; therefore, Pausanias argues there should also be two specific types of love. We have those who want to completely broke from the classical western values and whish to reshape the west favouring progress and relativism in one hand and in the other we have the people who defend traditional western values in the form of Christianity and morality and want them to see them implemented in the policies of their respective countries. We can trace this radicalization according to Jim George to the liberalization of belief system in the 60s inside the Western countries especially the United States and outside these in the fight against communism. The appearance of these ideological trends generated a counter culture among traditionalist groups that generated a boom in neoconservative thought. Both groups were an extremist minority within their respective traditional ideological currents; the right and left. However in recent years with the growing influx of refugees, the economic and security crisis coupled with the loss of values in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Casey Martin Case Summary Facts: Casey Martin is a talented golfer with many achievements throughout his golf career. He also has a disability under the ADA, known as the Klippel Trenaunay Weber Syndrome, affecting the flow of blood from this right leg back to his heart. The disease is progressive, causing severe pain, where if he walked an 18 hole golf course, it would create a risk of hemorrhaging, developing blood clots, etc. When Martin became a professional golfer, he qualified for the final round of the qualifying competition. He made a request to use a golf cart during the professional tours, supporting his reasoning with medical records; PGA Tour, Inc. refused because the competitive nature of the game would be fundamentally altered if Martin were given an unfair advantage. Martin filed a suit under Title III of the ADA, which requires that an entity operating public accommodations to make reasonable modifications in its policies when...necessary to afford such...accommodations ... The court believes this opinion applies with Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to golfers and golf tournaments, where PGA cannot discriminate against spectators or competitors on the basis of disability. o PGA s golf tours and their qualifying rounds fit within the scope of Title III and within Martin s protection, being that a golf course is considered a public accommodation, where PGA leases these golf courses. PGA must not discriminate against any individual in the full and equal enjoyment of the goods... Title III, therefore, prohibits PGA from denying Martin equal access to the golf courses. 2. Allowing Martin to use a cart, aside the walking rule, is not a modification that would change the nature of the game. In the following next century, William the Conqueror, king of England would not allow people to be executed for any crime, except in times of war. • 45. How Racism Caused By Colonization, Age, And Gender Have A... In 1958 Martin Luther King Jr. was quoted saying Hate begets hate; violence begets violence . Unfortunately for some, the violence and hate they receive begets violence and hate deep into themselves. For the Inuit people of northern Canada, racism presented through colonial violence and acculturation has caused a crippling affliction. The effect of this violence has manifested itself into various other forms of viciousness; domestic violence, substance abuse, neglect and self harm are only a few. The perpetuation of this malicious cycle has created an exponential rise in violence against oneself. Additionally, the process of growing up and creating an identity is extremely difficult. Whereas, developing into an adult when faced with violence is exceptionally harder. Many young Inuit males succumb to this hardship. In comparison to the general population, adolescent Inuit males have a disproportionately high suicide rate. Through an intersectional analysis, I will examine the how racism caused by colonization, age, and gender have caused one of the highest suicide rates in the world. The act of committing suicide in Inuit communities has changed drastically. Previously, an ill or elder person would take their lives. This would be considered dying with ancient dignity as a response to the burden they may put on their families (Kral, 2013). There were very few recorded suicides amongst Inuit youth before the 1980 s (Working Group, 2009). The figures began to rise in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Analysis Of The Book The Overthrow Regime Change On The... 1. What is Kinzer s thesis (what is he arguing in this book)? Kinzer s thesis in the book the Overthrow is regime change in the United States. The author explains how regime change has been happening over one hundred years and how it is nothing new for the United States. He well explains and gives great example of how the United States is willing to do anything to other governments in order for them to accomplish their goals. Kinzer states that the US has overthrown fourteen different foreign governments around the world such as Hawaii, Chile, Iraq, South Vietnam, and others. The government overthrows these countries without misgiving the outcomes they will cause to them. In most cases, however, it acted mainly for economic reasons ... When in reality it was because they were supporting companies from the United States that wanted to work in Nicaragua. In my opinion, the United States was an egoist in most of their overthrows because they only cared of their own benefits. 3. Geographically, where does each chapter focus (ie. Hawaii, Afghanistan, etc.)? Do any of the locations surprise you? Chapter one focuses on: Hawaii Chapter two focuses on: Cuba, Philippines, Puerto Rico president McKinley Chapter three focuses on: Nicaragua Chapter four focuses on: Virginia, Honduras Chapter six focuses on: Guatemala Chapter seven focuses on: South Vietnam Chapter eight focuses on: Chile Chapter nine focuses on: Iran Chapter ten focuses on: Grenada Chapter eleven focuses on: Panama Chapter twelve focuses on: Afghanistan Chapter thirteen focuses on: Iraq Chapter fourteen focuses on: Iraq In reality, most of these locations surprise me because I would have never imagined that the US overthrew many countries. I was never well informed of all the overthrows the US has done especially in the way they did it. In most of the history classes, I have taken they usually try to make the US look good and never like the bad country. For that reason, is why I really enjoyed and appreciated this book. 4.
