Write An Essay On Honduras
Six Things You Should Know about traveling to Honduras Honduras is the second largest country in
Central America, but one of the poorest. The Mayan ruins at Copán are the remains of a civilization
that flourished there between the fourth and ninth centuries AD. Christopher Columbus landed in
Honduras on his last voyage in 1502. In search of gold and silver, the Spanish conquered the land
beginning in 1524. Within twenty years, the native population decreased to only eight thousand due to
disease, abuse, and slave trade with other countries. Central America, freed itself from Spanish rule in
1821. Honduras, however, did not become independent until 1838. Dictators ruled the country almost
like a communist country and there have been an estimate of about three hundred national rebellions,
civil wars, and many changes of government since then. A number of civilians have been elected
president since the 1950s, but several of them have been overthrown by the military. It s not as
dangerous as it seems. People think that Honduras is the most dangerous country in the world, but
really, it s actually not as bad as its neighboring countries. While I was there, my cousins that live in
Honduras told me that when they went to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How about outdated linoleum in the kitchen? Time for a change! Focus on upgrading items rather than

Battle Of San Romeo Analysis
Towards the start of the 14th century, a renewed passion for the Greek and Roman classics emerged,
captivating the minds of people and bringing forth a significant intellectual movement known as
Humanism. Humanism drew people towards a more secular view of life, encouraging them to become
more interested in themselves, their own independence, and their own personal expression, while
renewing their admiration for worldly pleasures in the here and now. Furthermore, Humanism has
been described as a mentality that was caught between medieval theology and modern day criticism
and science, with the Renaissance man appearing to be caught between faith and reason (Kreis). As
such, many influential works of art evolved from this time period, including Paolo ... Show more

Foremost, the scenery in the painting is far from heavenly, as it is extensively adorned with natural
vegetation, a technique that was often used in Humanistic paintings. Likewise, the comprehension of
light and shadow is also displayed, along with individualized facial expressions that conveyed
emotion, allowing the figures to seem full of dimension and lively, rather than being flat and
unrealistic. Furthermore, no one figure is larger than another, a common element of art prior to
Humanism, which allows all figures to appear equal. Prior to the Renaissance, art was primarily based
on religious context, depicting man as flawless and all powerful (Michelangelo s Pieta). However, in
Michelangelo s sculpture, Pieta, though still a Christian influenced artwork, provides viewers with
contrasting characteristics. This sculpture exhibits humanism through the depiction of real human

Ancient Greece Influence On Modern Society
Some of the greatest aspects of modern society came from Ancient Greece. The people of Ancient
Greece were very creative, and they designed their own buildings and theatres. They were smart
because they established the foundations for mathematics and philosophy. Ancient Greece influenced
sports and the Olympic games the modern world has today in many ways. Ancient Greece influences
in the areas of philosophy, mathematics, art, architecture, sports, and government had a profound
impact on modern day culture and society.
The people of Ancient Greece laid the foundations for mathematics and philosophy. Greek
philosophers, full of knowledge and wisdom, believed that ordinary humans could understand the
workings of nature. Ancient Greece became known for many great philosophers. Thales, who lived in
a time when Greek mythology was popular, became known as the first philosopher and the first to
consider that there might be natural explanations to the world Pythagoras, a mathematician and
philosopher, gained notoriety for developing the Pythagorean Theorem. The Pythagorean Theorem, a
well known theorem in geometry classes in the modern world today, states that the square of the
hypotenuse of a right triangle equals the sum of the squares on the other sides . Aristotle, one of the
most influential Greek philosophers known today, created the idea of the food chain. In this food
chain, humans started at the top and animals such as sharks, birds, dogs, insects, and worms followed

The Trend Of Citizen Journalism
The Trend of Citizen Journalism a Critical Development in Journalism
With the advent of low cost consumer photography equipment, including camera phones, citizen
journalism has become more widespread. During newsworthy incidents many people may be present
with the capability to snap a picture. This capability of photography at the scene of a newsworthy
event may produce information that can be helpful and vital depending on the nature of the
newsworthy event. While safety of the photographer is a concern the same concerns exist for a
professional journalist. The potential benefit of a mass capture of information by many sources may
far outweigh the negatives. If the photographer feels that their safety is not in jeopardy and no un
necessary risks are taken then photography is acceptable. In today s society, it is up to the judgment
and common sense of the witness to record whatever even they are observing.
Safety is a serious and growing concern of today s society. Many rules and safety concerns exist today
which were nonexistent in the past. Research, observation, and an overwhelming amount of
information has resulted in far more rules and regulations for today s citizens. Another part of our
progressing society has been the advancement and adoption of technology in our daily lives. Just
about everyone has a phone capable of taking pictures. The prevalence of cameras in the hands of
people differs from the past as recent as the 1990s where few people

The History of the Canonization of the Bible The process by which the English Bible, as it is known
to the English culture today, was compiled is an extraordinary thing to see. The Bible consists of two
parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The process by which both Testaments were written
and then canonized into one book transpired over a period of many years. Once the canonization of
the Bible officially came to an end, it was translated into English. Since then, many versions of the
modern Bible have been made. Since the individual books of the Bible became scattered as they were
written, people set forth to preserve God s Word by compiling them into one ... Show more content on

He therefore separates the Apocrypha from the main part of the Bible, putting it in an appendix. In AD
1546, the Council of Trent convenes and settles once and for all that the Old Testament consists of all
forty six books ( Development of the Difficult Canon ). The New Testament was canonized over a
period of approximately four hundred years (Stotesberg). From AD 50 125, the books which in the
end constitute the New Testament were written. Simultaneously, other books, which did not end up
being included in the final canon, were produced. These books are the Epistle of Barnabas, the
Didache, I Clement, the seven letters of Ignatius of Antioch, etc. ( Development of the Difficult Canon
). As more and more books were written, Christians realized that it was imperative that they gather and
consolidate this material before it became lost. Sometime before AD 100, ten of Paul s letters were
gathered and combined into their own canon. The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were
combined to form another canon soon after the canonization of Paul s letters. The Gospels and Paul s
letters became the main body of a new group of Scriptures that would soon become the New
Testament. Soon Acts, I Peter, I John, and Revelation were inserted into this body of Scripture.
Following this, the rest of the books were added to the New Testament (Barker).
In AD 140, Marcion, a heretical teacher who discarded the Old Testament as Scripture, took parts of
Luke and also ten

“Everyday Use” by Alice Walker Essay
In its simplest form, a child is a product of a man and a woman but Alice Walker one of the foremost
authors during the twentieth century, adds depth to her black American women by focusing on the role
that race and gender played in their development. Family reunions can be times of great anticipation,
excitement and happiness but for Dee, a young, beautiful, African American and our leading character,
it was a reunion with underlying, unspoken tensions. Dee was Dee but Dee had changed; a new
husband, nice clothes, and a college degree to boat. Maybe that college degree certificate could be
farmed and hung on the wall replacing that old photo of George Washington Carver, out with the old
and in with the new. Alice Walker is showing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is not willing to commit to the hard work of the cause and faith he claims to embrace
(SparkNotes). Walker s story is an evaluation of individuals who get the wrong idea about some of the
ideals that black consciousness groups promoted during 1950s. A bit of realism is given in the story by
some particular languages, specialized diction, and Mama s exclusive expressions. Walker gives
Mama the right to narrate and control to convey the story and thoughts in their own way. For example,
some particular language used by Dee s mother like butter churning and cheese making adds realism
to the story. This makes the audience think that they are a poor farm family. The mother makes the
languages her own (SparkNotes). For instance, she refers to her husband carving benches when the
family could not effort instead of afford to buy chairs, and she describes the milk in the churn as
crabber . Walker raises comedy as a way of improving the story s observations, such as in the weak
comedy irritated by Mama s reaction to Dee s, and Hakim s difficult to pronounce names. Mama
eventually gives up on Hakim a barber s name and secretly addresses him as what she thinks he
sounds like: a barber. The history of these quilts is a history of the family. The quilts was most
valuable to Mama and Maggie, they do not want to see the quilts as stuff to be hung on the wall and
respected as folk art, but as the useful household items. Walker is

Marjory Stoneman Douglas Dedication to the Florida...
The Everglades; a treasured river
Marjory Stoneman Douglas (April 7, 1890 May 14, 1998) was an American journalist, writer and
environmentalist known for her staunch defense of the Florida Everglades against draining and
development. Moving to Miami as a young woman to work for The Miami Herald, Douglas became a
freelance writer, producing over a hundred short stories that were published in popular magazines. Her
most influential work was the book The Everglades: River of Grass (1947), which redefined the
popular conception of the Everglades as a treasured river instead of a worthless swamp. Published the
same year as the formal opening of Everglades National Park, the book was a call to attention about
the degrading quality of life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A concrete network of canals was designed to bring water from the lake area to surrounding farmland
in the dry season. Florida was becoming a booming area and more people came and more acres of the
Everglades were cleared for farms, ranches, housing, roads, and railways. And more and more; the
Everglades were dying (Miami Museum of Science, 1995).
Douglas was quickly drawn into the debate over the future of the Everglades. Many people, including
Florida s governor, Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, were in favor of draining the Everglades. But
others, like Frank Stoneman, disagreed. Marjory s father, Frank Stoneman supported the preservation
of the Glades, an idea that made the developers furious. He wanted this wilderness area to be left
untouched. Her earliest notions about the Everglades came directly from her father. She became
convinced that the Glades should be preserved in a natural state. She joined a committee to establish
the area as a national park, which would give the Everglades the protection of the federal government.
Finally there was a public outcry for change. Now that it was almost too late, wrote Marjory, men
began to realize that the water supply was never just a local problem. The Everglades were one vast
unified harmonious whole in which the old subtle balance which was destroyed needed to be replaced
or restored (Bryant pg 57, 1992). A new, scientific study of the region recommended

Concept Of Organizational Culture Shift
This movie illustrates the ability for organizational change to influence success, and widely accepted
societal norms to be defied, through the combined efforts of a group of individuals. In this particular
instance, a lowly rated baseball team in a small market and inauspicious financial setting is able to
undergo a transformative change, primarily due to their beliefs. This illustrates to organizations that
change can be beneficial and is usually required in order to remain competitive, and it is often a
preferred route to follow in order to achieve desired goals.
Change is important in organizations as it allows employees to learn new skills, explore new
opportunities and exercise their creativity in ways that ultimately benefit the organization through new
idea generation and increased commitment (Leigh Demand, n.d., para. 6). The concept of
organizational culture shift can be viewed as a process that is undertaken for growth and success, as it
creates room for new opportunities and risk taking. The purpose of the paper which highlights the
need for organizational and cultural change, and its intrinsic benefits, will be achieved through an
analysis of the internal culture and the influence of external environment, by observing the benefits of
incorporating change in an organization. Furthermore, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages
of adapting to changes and the competitive edge it provides to organizations.
This paper will begin with a synopsis, which

Suez Canal Crisis Analysis
Heavily influenced by foreign affairs, even as Canada grew more distinguished in their own
independence, international conflicts continued to be a leading factor in shaping Canada s identity as a
country. Canada s various stances when it comes to the Suez Canal, and First and Second Iraq wars,
are excellent examples of the progress Canada has made within their foreign policy, as they ve
developed as a country over time. Advancing further away from blindly following connected powers
like Britain and the United States, Canada finds its ways to show its uniqueness in the face of these
conflicts. The Suez Canal crisis of 1956 displayed a side of Canada previously unseen by the world.

Pieces Of Imagery In Eveline
As James Joyce s short story Eveline begins, the reader is introduced to a young woman sitting at the
front window in her home, her history and the setting unfolding around her. It is soon revealed that
this character s name is Eveline Hill. Also in the exposition, which spans the majority of the story, two
key pieces of imagery are used: a field and a yellowing photograph. At the end of the story, wedged
between the crisis and the recognition, is the last piece of imagery the sea. One can determine that
Joyce s Eveline is about her identity by analyzing these images, and this analysis will also serve to
explain how the final sentence indicates who Eveline is. In the second paragraph of the story, the open
field is the first major image introduced. Eveline reflects on the field where she and her childhood
friends used to play before the land was developed. ...there used to be a field there in which they used
to play every evening with other people s children. Then a man from Belfast bought the field and built
houses in it not like their little brown houses but bright brick houses with shining roofs. The children
of the avenue used to play together in that field [...] they seemed to have been rather happy then (78).
The now occupied lot provided her with happy memories, but after houses were built on it, the field
seemingly disappeared. Later in the story, connections between this image and other elements in the
plot become evident. While Eveline is musing about

What Are The Similarities Between Achilles And Beowulf
Humans are imperfect, created half to rise, and half to fall ...The glory, jest, and riddle of the world!
(15 18). Both Homer s Iliad, which illustrates the story of the renowned warrior Achilles, and the
Saxon Beowulf, which highlights the adventures of the heroic monster killer Beowulf, convey the idea
that humans are in the middle state (line 3), as Alexander Pope once said. Both works offer insights
that still apply to today s society, where human capability and ambition combined with weakness and
emotion can lead to disaster.
The main characters of both stories, Achilles and Beowulf, are larger than life and never satisfied with
mundanity, seeking to boast their superhuman prowess and cement their glory, but in the end are
proven to be mortal. Achilles, a demi god, is impervious to weapons everywhere but his heel, and uses

Even in modern times, there are still some who seek for their own selfish glory and ambitions and
cause massive repercussions to others. The attitudes of the leaders of some politically extreme nations
such as IS, North Korea, and Israel, reflect those of Achilles and Beowulf. The leader of IS in
particular the caliph, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi pursues extreme Islamic ideology, enacting a genocide
and a war in order to win glory in the annals of Islamic history.
Although now we live in technologically advanced world, human nature has remained the same. Our
basic motivations remain the same. Just as in Beowulf and the Iliad, in our modern times corruption,
avarice, and envy are abound, as much as courage, bravery, and honor. Thus remains the vital question
whether humans should choose to be like Achilles and Beowulf; brave, bold, and ambitious, yet

You Are Never Too Old to Do Anything
You are never too old to do anything People that think that elderly people are too old to do the things

uncertainty. Long standing people are just as capable as we are of fulfilling their dreams and living the
way that they want to live due to them being more experienced than us in life for which they know
more than the younger generation. Undoubtedly, there will be differing opinions from their family
members and from the people that care about them about this issue. However, taking the movie Rocky

Multiple Forms Of Democracy, Monarchy And Dictatorship
There are multiple forms of government including: Democracy, Monarchy, Oligarchy and
Dictatorship. We here in America are probably most familiar with Democracy, however most do not
know that their are very similar yet different types of Democracy; Direct and Representative. Direct
Democracy, which is what the Athenians used, is where the people had complete and utter control of
the laws that were passed and how the laws were enforced. Representative Democracy, in America, is
where the citizens have a major input into what goes on in the country but we elect officials who
represent the decisions of the people. We elect leaders who sit within the three branches of
government; Legislative, Executive and Judicial. Secondly, a Monarchy is the ruling ... Show more

I m not the only one to think this as John Locke, an escapee from an absolute monarch, argued that
any other form of government was simply irrational and ill functioning. Now I understand that this is
largely up for debate due to other nations historically using many alternative forms of ruling which
have worked out fine. If I were to be a citizen of the United Kingdom, I might have a completely
different outlook on this issue. That being said, despite where I was born, I truly believe that I would
indeed have the same outlook. Democracy is a form of government that encourages the citizens and
the people to get involved. Everyone is allowed to have opinions on on certain issues, matter of fact in
today s day in age people might say people are too opinionated on certain matters that don t even
involve them. However, for a society to properly function, we need people to have opinions on issues
that they are passionate about. If we want problems in our nation to get properly handled, we need the
people to have reasonable riots and revolts to show that we are passionate as a country about what is

the news first. The benefit to this is people will turn to them first when it comes to breaking stories.
However if the news is delivered based on speed and not accuracy this can be harmful to society. War

Lies and corruption capture people. Therefore people will always pay attention to the stories about our
government lying to us. These weapons have still not been found and this is extremely similar to how
the ship may not have ever been shot down in Tonkin. Despite numerous inaccurate reports there were
attempts of trying to report the war accurately. However whenever a news channel would report
Americans getting killed in Vietnam the government would work quickly to cover it up. President
Nixon is quoted as saying the press is our biggest enemy. This one phrase sums up the war. The press
would try to report fairly to the American people, but the government would squash it and make the
press look bad (Media Beat Vietnam War, Solomon and Cohen). Therefore the press would only report
good things so that the government would look highly upon them and give them better seating in
white house briefings. This highly affected the people working in Vietnam. They were forced to be
there, and the stories they were trying to report were not even reported. There are certainly a lot of
examples of war reporting being inaccurate. When we read John Kerry s letters to his mother we
realized what Kerry was telling his mother and what his mother was hearing on TV were two totally
different stories. Kerry wrote to his mother about bloodshed,

Short term therapy and counseling have consistently proven to be a powerful, efficient, and effective
approach for resolving human emotional and behavioral problems, and it is a major force in the field
of psychotherapy and counseling today (Saposnek, 1984). Although the overwhelming emphasis on
brief counseling/therapy in the mental health system is a relatively recent phenomenon, the concept
itself is at least as old as Freud. Freud originally viewed psychoanalysis as a research tool that had
powerful therapeutic applications.
Although he tried to limit his early analysis to six to twelve months, he had hoped that in time it would
be superseded by more efficient methods (Saposnek, 1984; Nugent, 1994; Phillips, 1985).
According to Small (1979), Historically, it is clear that Freud first sought a quick cure; when he began
he could not foresee the developments that would lengthen the psychoanalytic process. Who would
have believed that Freud would have preferred a brief therapy over the open ended, time unlimited
therapy process that classical psychoanalysis had become. Social changes brought on by the pressures
of World War II led to a great demand for short term interventions. The stress related emergencies of
World War II necessitated the development of early forms of crisis intervention aimed at

The World War I And The Red Scare
In the early 20th Century, the United States endured a time of political unrest. During World War I,
fears of socialism and communism entered the psyche of the United States and culminated in the Red
Scare. Hundreds of American citizens particularly immigrants suffered unprecedented arrests and
deportations (Fariello 4). During this time, Charles Schenck, secretary of the Socialist Party of
America, actively opposed the war. Due to Schenck s efforts, the organization distributed thousands of
leaflets criticizing conscription and encouraging readers to assert rights against the draft and
intimidation (Schenck v. United States 1). In the 1919 case Schenck v. United States, the defendants
were charged with violating the Espionage Act of 1917 by causing and attempting to cause
insubordination in U.S. military forces by distributing a document denouncing the draft in name of the
13th amendment (Schenck 1). When insurgency and fear continued, Congress amended the Espionage
Act with the Sedition Act, which limited many more forms of speech (Fariello 14).
At this point, society had to decide whether these limits on speech aligned with its interests. Holmes
similarly had to consider whether to forfeit his belief that ideals in the Constitution and its
Amendments exist absolutely (Cohen 27). In the end, he decided that a balance between absolute
ideals and the responsibilities of Congress must prevail as the most fair compromise or standard. In
this fairness, the Court affords

Analysis Of The Chicago Tribune And William Randolph...
This pair seized upon the headlines generated from a case involving a woman named Mona Marshall,
who alleged that she had been drugged, raped, and forced into prostitution by a pimp. There were
elements of her story that were genuinely factual and terribly disturbing, but other parts seemed far
fetched. That included a tale in which the police reportedly received a note that she dropped from the
window of the brothel where she worked stating, I am a white slave. In addition, Marshall s
recounting of events included several contradictions with dates and key details. Nonetheless, The
Chicago Tribune and William Randolph Hearst s Chicago American ran wild with the Mona Marshall
story and it quickly gained a national audience. Clifford Roe gained recognition nationwide as the
prosecutor of that case and he leveraged his newfound fame into more of an activist role. He
subsequently published Panders and Their White Slaves and The Girl Who Disappeared, which was
later fact checked by a notable sociologist Walter Reckless. He found that Roe used heavily altered
statements from prostitutes to advance his agenda. In addition, Reckless studied Chicago s white slave
court cases extensively and found that less than 5% of them actually involved women held against
their will. In fairness, although Roe s methods were deceptive, one positive result manifested from his
work as he successfully lobbied to get much needed sex trafficking laws passed in Illinois. Over a

nobody s parents would have allowed it during that time. Know on the main topic teen dating. I
believe that parents should make rules on dating because we are still young, some of us might not
know what to do. Parents should be allowed to make rules on dating but not the rules that are so strict
that you can t go out with this person that has stolen your child s heart. The rules that should be made

Computer Science And Artificial Intelligence
Computer Science Computer science can be defined as a many number of technological variables, but
is primarily defined as the science and processes of information processing in computer hardware and
software, as well as its applications within. Computer science is comprised of many aspects that form
a larger whole, that take a practical and theoretical approach to the capabilities of computers and how
they process input and output information. With computers being conceived as early as the 1830 s,
their capabilities have grown exponentially throughout the course of the 20th century, with many
aspects of computer science becoming commonplace for the modern consumer. For the purposes of
this report, the aspects of computer science that will be covered are formal languages and artificial
intelligence. Artificial Intelligence Artificial intelligence can be defined as the theory that a
technological system such as computers are able to independently perform tasks that would normally
require the operation of a human being to achieve. The primary goal of an artificial intelligence
system in a machine is to autonomously make decisions based on its perceived environment and
efficiently complete a range of given tasks. Artificial intelligence in all forms seeks to mimic aspects
and functions of human interaction and cognitive reception, and in doing so, the machines adapt to
these functions and become a standardised system. Such technologies initially serve as an exemplary

The Life of Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart endures as one of the more endearing characters in American history. In a time when
women played a largely secondary role in American, Amelia Earhart took a leading position in the
developing field of aviation and, in doing so; she displayed an adventurous spirit that proved to be
inspirational for several generations of Americans. Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24,
1897. Her father, Edwin, was an attorney and her mother, Amy, was a housewife. She had one sister,
Muriel, with whom she was very close. After high school, Earhart worked as a nurse s aide in
Philadelphia and briefly studied pre med at Columbia before moving to California. While in California
Amelia became interested in aviation and she began taking flying lessons. Through the financial
assistance of her sister, Muriel, and her mother, Amelia was able to purchase her first airplane in 1922.
Amelia eventually returned to the East Coast where she worked as a social worker. During this time
she met her husband, George Putnam, who at the time was employed as a publisher. Through Putnam
s contacts Earhart was able to obtain a seat as a passenger on a transatlantic flight across the Atlantic
Ocean and, in the process, become the first women to cross the Atlantic by air. This achievement
brought Amelia into the public eye and the publication of her book about her adventures, 20 Hours 40

Pinocchio; A Story For Children Pinocchio is concidered an adventurous tale for children. The original
story was first published in 1881 by Carlo Collodi in Italy . Collodi published his masterpiece as a
serial story in a children s weekly paper, Giornale dei bambini, between 1881 and 1883 (Liukkonen,
2008). Collodi wrote the story to be a lively adventure for children and a very adult social critique,
attacking poverty and emphasising the importance of education (Liukkonen, 2008). Walt Disney

They personify conscience and discipline, which Pinocchio lacks at first. The Blue Fairy is
illuminated in the pictures representing her magical and mystical qualities. Jiminy Cricket is the
annoying voice of discipline always warning Pinocchio to heed his advice.
The tale takes place in an Italian village, initially in Geppetto s workshop which is full of wooden
gadgets and chiming clocks, yet he does not know what time it is. The gentle woodcarver is wishing
upon a star for the puppet to come to life and to be his son. The Blue Fairy brings the toy to life out of
compassion for Geppetto who is a good man, but is lonely and wanting someone to love. The puppet
named, Pinocchio, is not yet a human boy. He must earn the right to be real by proving that he is
brave, truthful, and unselfish (The Walt Disney Company, 1992). It is not an easy world for the
puppet. He must learn what it means to be a good person, including: going to school, working hard,
making friends and putting others needs before his own. In the end, after learning some important life
lessons, Pinocchio is transformed from the wooden puppet into the real boy Geppetto has always
wanted (The Walt Disney Company, 1992).
One important event in the story is when Pinocchio is confronted by the Blue Fairy about skipping
school to be in a puppet show. She asks him why he never went to school and he lies to her and says
that he was kidnapped by a

The American Dream In The Declaration Of Independence, By...
The Declaration of Independence (1776) embeds the American Dream and declares a promise that all
individuals have the right to freedom. Race, social class, and gender do not prevent a person the
chance to prosper and aspire their dreams and goals. The expressions voiced in the Declaration
produce an illusion that everyone who comes to the United States can achieve greatness. Residing in
the United States gives people the opportunities and resources to strive to become someone important.
According to the article, Class of America 2012 Gregory Mantsios argues that everyone in the United

of her life beginning with school, and even as the first lady of the United States. Through her hard
work ethic, she was able to overcome her obstacles and advance in her education to become the First
Lady of the United States later. Even though she achieved her American Dream, she wanted her peers
around her to reach them as well. Michelle LaVaughn Robinson was not raised with a silver spoon in

The perspective of Ramzi was awful. It takes hard work to get a mentality like his and his recruiters.
When they were young they were taught to harm, kill and destroy.
Ramzi wanted to destroy the United States. When he planned his attack towards The World Trade
Center he wanted to make both buildings collapse. The van had to be parked a certain way so that
when the bomb would explode then it would knock down the first building making it tip over and fall
on top of the other one making a massive distruction. His plan did not work as well as planned. He

impact of terror in the city. The towers however were admiring. Terrorist then began to plot ways to

kill six people extremely effected while near the bomb. A rental vehicle, bought by the terrorist,

Subdivision regulations are directed toward two purposes: (a) to ensure that development is provided
adequate infrastructure such as water, sewers, streets, and sidewalks; and (b) to facilitate real estate
conveyancing by imposing standards for the platting of land (requiring a survey to show streets,
blocks, and lots in a subdivision and the recording of the survey). Subdivisions must, however,

rezoning or zone change is required for approval.
Conditional Use Permits (CUP) certain uses of land may only be allowed upon approval of a CUP.

Requirements for a Non Compete Agreement? Every non compete agreement must satisfy three basic
requirements. First, it must protect a genuine business interest. For example, this could be trade secrets
or an established clientele base. Second, it must offer the employee ... Show more content on

Since information is power, any employees that discloses confidential information threatens the
financial health of the company. Non compete agreements also protect the investment that has been
made into recruiting, training and retaining top employees. Finally, having a non compete agreement
will reduce potential lawsuit costs if an employee does break the contract. What are the Customer
Benefits of Non Compete Agreements? Non compete agreements will also protect your customer
relationships. This is because sometimes when an employee leaves, their clients may faithfully follow.
Therefore, non compete agreements will increase the client confidence and retention. Non compete
agreements also help to clarify the professional expectations for employees, which will improve their
behavior with clients. What Happens if the Employee Breaks the Non Compete Agreement? A court
ordered injunction is the most common result of an employee breaking a non compete agreement. This

Kremlin s Report On Energy Security In Post-Soviet Eastern...
In 2007, the Helsinki Commission held a congressional hearing focusing on energy security in Post
Soviet Eastern Europe. The hearing took place in the wake of the first major Ukrainian Russian gas
dispute in 2006 that not only demonstrated the Kremlin s motives to use its energy resources, natural
gas in particular, as a weapon to meddle in its immediate neighbors domestic affairs, but also show the
rest of Europe s, especially Central and Southeastern Europe s, extreme dependency on Russia s
energy supplies. Back then, experts and policy makers focused and made recommendations primarily
on the enhancement of security of supply through the construction of new energy infrastructure,
namely pipelines, which would allow the diversification ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most important Kremlin sponsored projects have been the planned Nord Stream 2 and
TurkStream pipelines which both intend to carry gas to EU countries by circumventing Russia s
immediate post Soviet neighbors.
According to Doran, the Kremlin s motive is clearly to end the role that Ukraine, and to a lesser extent
Moldova, currently plays in the transit of gas to the EU through the Brotherhood and the Trans Balkan
pipelines. The success of Nord Stream 2 could potentially result in the loss of billions of dollars in
transit revenues for Ukraine and Moldova, as well as diminishing their geopolitical importance for
Europe, while subsequently enabling Russia to reassert its old influence over them by exploiting their
diminished energy security.
As a result of massive infrastructure projects promoted by the EU to develop reverse flow capacities
on existing pipelines and create new interconnections, Ukraine is now capable of purchasing gas from
a Western direction and, for the first time, since November 2015 has ceased buying gas contractually
from Russia altogether. New pipeline infrastructure projects, namely the planned expansion of the Iaşi
Ungheni pipeline, as Lyndon Allin, Associate at Baker Mackenzie, pointed out at the same briefing,
might enable Moldova in the medium run as well to reduce its

recently become used in forensic identification and paternity testing. Alu elements are found in nearly
one million copies per haploid gene which approximately 5 10% of the human genome. The Alu

The Mayan ruins at Copán are the remains of a civilization that flourished there between the fourth and ninth centuries AD. Christopher Columbus landed in Honduras on his last voyage in 1502. Battle Of San Romeo Analysis Towards the start of the 14th century, a renewed passion for the Greek and Roman classics emerged, captivating the minds of people and bringing forth a significant intellectual movement known as Humanism. History of the Bible Essay Brittany Stewart Instructor Pursell English 132 9 December 2009 The History of the Canonization of the Bible The process by which the English Bible, as it is known to the English culture today, was compiled is an extraordinary thing to see. The Bible consists of two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The process by which both Testaments were written and then canonized into one book transpired over a period of many years. Once the canonization of the Bible officially came to an end, it was translated into English. Since then, many versions of the modern Bible have been made. He therefore separates the Apocrypha from the main part of the Bible, putting it in an appendix. In AD 1546, the Council of Trent convenes and settles once and for all that the Old Testament consists of all forty six books ( Development of the Difficult Canon ). The New Testament was canonized over a period of approximately four hundred years (Stotesberg). From AD 50 125, the books which in the end constitute the New Testament were written. Simultaneously, other books, which did not end up being included in the final canon, were produced. These books are the Epistle of Barnabas, the Didache, I Clement, the seven letters of Ignatius of Antioch, etc. ( Development of the Difficult Canon ). As more and more books were written, Christians realized that it was imperative that they gather and consolidate this material before it became lost. Sometime before AD 100, ten of Paul s letters were gathered and combined into their own canon. The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were combined to form another canon soon after the canonization of Paul s letters. The Gospels and Paul s letters became the main body of a new group of Scriptures that would soon become the New Testament. Soon Acts, I Peter, I John, and Revelation were inserted into this body of Scripture. Following this, the rest of the books were added to the New Testament (Barker). Walker s story is an evaluation of individuals who get the wrong idea about some of the ideals that black consciousness groups promoted during 1950s. A bit of realism is given in the story by some particular languages, specialized diction, and Mama s exclusive expressions. Walker gives Mama the right to narrate and control to convey the story and thoughts in their own way. For example, some particular language used by Dee s mother like butter churning and cheese making adds realism to the story. This makes the audience think that they are a poor farm family. The mother makes the languages her own (SparkNotes). For instance, she refers to her husband carving benches when the family could not effort instead of afford to buy chairs, and she describes the milk in the churn as crabber . Walker raises comedy as a way of improving the story s observations, such as in the weak comedy irritated by Mama s reaction to Dee s, and Hakim s difficult to pronounce names. Mama eventually gives up on Hakim a barber s name and secretly addresses him as what she thinks he sounds like: a barber. The history of these quilts is a history of the family. The quilts was most valuable to Mama and Maggie, they do not want to see the quilts as stuff to be hung on the wall and respected as folk art, but as the useful household items. Walker is ... Her most influential work was the book The Everglades: River of Grass (1947), which redefined the popular conception of the Everglades as a treasured river instead of a worthless swamp. Florida was becoming a booming area and more people came and more acres of the Everglades were cleared for farms, ranches, housing, roads, and railways. And more and more; the Everglades were dying (Miami Museum of Science, 1995). Douglas was quickly drawn into the debate over the future of the Everglades. Many people, including Florida s governor, Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, were in favor of draining the Everglades. But others, like Frank Stoneman, disagreed. Marjory s father, Frank Stoneman supported the preservation of the Glades, an idea that made the developers furious. He wanted this wilderness area to be left untouched. Her earliest notions about the Everglades came directly from her father. She became convinced that the Glades should be preserved in a natural state. She joined a committee to establish the area as a national park, which would give the Everglades the protection of the federal government. Finally there was a public outcry for change. Now that it was almost too late, wrote Marjory, men began to realize that the water supply was never just a local problem. Concept Of Organizational Culture Shift This movie illustrates the ability for organizational change to influence success, and widely accepted societal norms to be defied, through the combined efforts of a group of individuals. In this particular instance, a lowly rated baseball team in a small market and inauspicious financial setting is able to undergo a transformative change, primarily due to their beliefs. This illustrates to organizations that change can be beneficial and is usually required in order to remain competitive, and it is often a preferred route to follow in order to achieve desired goals. Change is important in organizations as it allows employees to learn new skills, explore new opportunities and exercise their creativity in ways that ultimately benefit the organization through new idea generation and increased commitment (Leigh Demand, n.d., para. 6). The concept of organizational culture shift can be viewed as a process that is undertaken for growth and success, as it creates room for new opportunities and risk taking. The purpose of the paper which highlights the need for organizational and cultural change, and its intrinsic benefits, will be achieved through an analysis of the internal culture and the influence of external environment, by observing the benefits of incorporating change in an organization. It is soon revealed that this character s name is Eveline Hill. Also in the exposition, which spans the majority of the story, two key pieces of imagery are used: a field and a yellowing photograph. At the end of the story, wedged between the crisis and the recognition, is the last piece of imagery the sea. One can determine that Joyce s Eveline is about her identity by analyzing these images, and this analysis will also serve to explain how the final sentence indicates who Eveline is. Short term therapy and counseling have consistently proven to be a powerful, efficient, and effective approach for resolving human emotional and behavioral problems, and it is a major force in the field of psychotherapy and counseling today (Saposnek, 1984). Although the overwhelming emphasis on brief counseling/therapy in the mental health system is a relatively recent phenomenon, the concept itself is at least as old as Freud. Freud originally viewed psychoanalysis as a research tool that had powerful therapeutic applications. Although he tried to limit his early analysis to six to twelve months, he had hoped that in time it would be superseded by more efficient methods (Saposnek, 1984; Nugent, 1994; Phillips, 1985). According to Small (1979), Historically, it is clear that Freud first sought a quick cure; when he began he could not foresee the developments that would lengthen the psychoanalytic process. Who would have believed that Freud would have preferred a brief therapy over the open ended, time unlimited therapy process that classical psychoanalysis had become. Social changes brought on by the pressures of World War II led to a great demand for short term interventions. • 22. The World War I And The Red Scare In the early 20th Century, the United States endured a time of political unrest. During World War I, fears of socialism and communism entered the psyche of the United States and culminated in the Red Scare. Hundreds of American citizens particularly immigrants suffered unprecedented arrests and deportations (Fariello 4). During this time, Charles Schenck, secretary of the Socialist Party of America, actively opposed the war. Due to Schenck s efforts, the organization distributed thousands of leaflets criticizing conscription and encouraging readers to assert rights against the draft and intimidation (Schenck v. United States 1). In the 1919 case Schenck v. United States, the defendants were charged with violating the Espionage Act of 1917 by causing and attempting to cause insubordination in U.S. military forces by distributing a document denouncing the draft in name of the 13th amendment (Schenck 1). When insurgency and fear continued, Congress amended the Espionage Act with the Sedition Act, which limited many more forms of speech (Fariello 14). At this point, society had to decide whether these limits on speech aligned with its interests. Holmes similarly had to consider whether to forfeit his belief that ideals in the Constitution and its Amendments exist absolutely (Cohen 27). In the end, he decided that a balance between absolute ideals and the responsibilities of Congress must prevail as the most fair compromise or standard. In this fairness, the Court affords ... This pair seized upon the headlines generated from a case involving a woman named Mona Marshall, who alleged that she had been drugged, raped, and forced into prostitution by a pimp. There were elements of her story that were genuinely factual and terribly disturbing, but other parts seemed far fetched. That included a tale in which the police reportedly received a note that she dropped from the window of the brothel where she worked stating, I am a white slave. In addition, Marshall s recounting of events included several contradictions with dates and key details. Nonetheless, The Chicago Tribune and William Randolph Hearst s Chicago American ran wild with the Mona Marshall story and it quickly gained a national audience. Clifford Roe gained recognition nationwide as the prosecutor of that case and he leveraged his newfound fame into more of an activist role. He subsequently published Panders and Their White Slaves and The Girl Who Disappeared, which was later fact checked by a notable sociologist Walter Reckless. He found that Roe used heavily altered statements from prostitutes to advance his agenda. In addition, Reckless studied Chicago s white slave court cases extensively and found that less than 5% of them actually involved women held against their will. In fairness, although Roe s methods were deceptive, one positive result manifested from his work as he successfully lobbied to get much needed sex trafficking laws passed in Illinois. With computers being conceived as early as the 1830 s, their capabilities have grown exponentially throughout the course of the 20th century, with many aspects of computer science becoming commonplace for the modern consumer. For the purposes of this report, the aspects of computer science that will be covered are formal languages and artificial intelligence. Artificial Intelligence Artificial intelligence can be defined as the theory that a technological system such as computers are able to independently perform tasks that would normally require the operation of a human being to achieve. The primary goal of an artificial intelligence system in a machine is to autonomously make decisions based on its perceived environment and efficiently complete a range of given tasks. • 43. Kremlin s Report On Energy Security In Post-Soviet Eastern... In 2007, the Helsinki Commission held a congressional hearing focusing on energy security in Post Soviet Eastern Europe. The hearing took place in the wake of the first major Ukrainian Russian gas dispute in 2006 that not only demonstrated the Kremlin s motives to use its energy resources, natural gas in particular, as a weapon to meddle in its immediate neighbors domestic affairs, but also show the rest of Europe s, especially Central and Southeastern Europe s, extreme dependency on Russia s energy supplies. Back then, experts and policy makers focused and made recommendations primarily on the enhancement of security of supply through the construction of new energy infrastructure, namely pipelines, which would allow the diversification ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most important Kremlin sponsored projects have been the planned Nord Stream 2 and TurkStream pipelines which both intend to carry gas to EU countries by circumventing Russia s immediate post Soviet neighbors. According to Doran, the Kremlin s motive is clearly to end the role that Ukraine, and to a lesser extent Moldova, currently plays in the transit of gas to the EU through the Brotherhood and the Trans Balkan pipelines. The success of Nord Stream 2 could potentially result in the loss of billions of dollars in transit revenues for Ukraine and Moldova, as well as diminishing their geopolitical importance for Europe, while subsequently enabling Russia to reassert its old influence over them by exploiting their diminished energy security. As a result of massive infrastructure projects promoted by the EU to develop reverse flow capacities on existing pipelines and create new interconnections, Ukraine is now capable of purchasing gas from a Western direction and, for the first time, since November 2015 has ceased buying gas contractually from Russia altogether. New pipeline infrastructure projects, namely the planned expansion of the Iaşi Ungheni pipeline, as Lyndon Allin, Associate at Baker Mackenzie, pointed out at the same briefing, might enable Moldova in the medium run as well to reduce its ... • 44. The Distribution of Alu Genotypes The Distribution of Alu Genotypes in a Group of Level 4 Students The Distribution of Alu Genotypes Introduction DNA is mostly found in the nucleus of nearly every cell in the human body, it contains the biological instructions that make us unique. Located on the genome at different locations are short, identifiable sequences known as Alu insertion polymorphisms. The application of Alu elements has recently become used in forensic identification and paternity testing. Alu elements are found in nearly one million copies per haploid gene which approximately 5 10% of the human genome. The Alu elements can be found bordering genes or gathered with other interspersed repeated sequences (Primrose 1998). Alu elements are repeated ...
