The Patriot Act Essay
The Patriot Act.
On September 11, 2001 Muslim terrorists instilled with a hatred of the west attacked the United
States in a brutal fashion. Planes were hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center in New
York. Over three thousand people were killed and the impregnable nation known as America was
know scared and vulnerable. Almost immediately the legislature began drafting an act that would
make the war on terror and the fight for homeland security a little easier to fight, this would come
to be known as the Patriot Act
PATRIOT is an acronym for Uniting and Strengthening America by providing Appropriate Tools
Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism. The Patriot Act allows the government and law
enforcement agencies to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is especially true for groups of people in the United States. Immigrants, especially of Arab
origin and those with Islam as their religion are seen as terrorists. This is blatant racism and
discrimination which is also completely against what this country stands for.
Also concerned is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). This is an organization that is
dedicated to raising awareness of civil liberties. The PATRIOT Act, as the name suggests is
supposed to protect the citizens of the country from attacks across its borders. It defeats its own
purpose in attacking from within the very people it s supposed to protect. In fact, it does almost
the opposite by provoking a fear and paranoia that tends to remind us of such wonderful events like
the Spanish inquisition or the Salem Witch Trials.
The ACLU talks about several groups that are unfairly targeted by the Act to the extent that the
constitution is being violated. I have already talked about Arab and Muslims but even neighbors
are supposed to report anything that appears suspicious. Turning people against each other is not
only a reminder of the above mentioned historical events but it also leads to fear in a place where
none is needed.
The Act gives law enforcement the right to search any building or residence that might prove
suspect. It seems that such suspicion is easy to provoke making it likely that an innocent law
abiding citizen will find himself

The Stone Angel, By Margaret Laurence
One s insecurities can only be temporarily resolved by pride, because it creates problems that do
not exist in the first place. Excessive pride is associated with one s need to feel superior, only
myopic people display it. Proud people are often emotionless to avoid vulnerability in social
situations, because showing emotionat all appears weak. In Margaret Laurences The Stone Angel,
Hagar Shipley looks back on her life with regret, and spends most of her life not knowing why
she misses so many opportunities. Until she lives without pride, Hagar is oblivious of her
mistakes. She fails to benefit anyone else because of her focus on having a strong personality. Her
fear of showing weak emotions keeps her from showing emotion at all; she... Show more content on

Hagar s inability to be wrong causes Bram and herself to argue throughout their relationship,
such as what Bram spends his money on. Hagar does not even consider Bram s opinions. Bram
becomes so used to her stubbornness that he does not expect Hagar to ever show compassion.
Hagar apologizes to Bram for the first time in their relationship following the argument, and
Bram did not expect it: Bram looked up at me with such a look of surprise that it pains me still,
in recalling (Laurence 87). Hagar s pride impacts the relationship she has with her father and
husband in a negative way; her father s or husband s opinion should be considered just as much
as hers. Hagar treats her peers poorly because of the temporary pleasure she gets out of it, her
feelings of superiority fade in her elder years because embarrassment constantly attacks her
pride. Hagar feels inferior to Doris when Doris undresses her. Hagar s insecurites outbalance her
feelings of superiority, and she can show emotion to Marvin: I m frightened. Marvin, I m so
frightened (Laurence 303). Hagar redeems herself from the negativity she has brought to others
lives, by changing her mindset and having a mother son moment with Marvin for the first time
since he is born. She opens up to Marvin for the first time, allowing him to apologize for being
tough on her at times. Hagar provides her son with closure, and finds redemption by overcoming a
problem that pride causes. She also fails to please herself because of

Music Concert Review Sample
Concert ReviewThe music concert this review covers is the Plano Symphony s rendition of the
Beethoven s Choral Fantasy in C minor and Symphony No. 9, The Choral, in D minor. The
concert was held at a church in April 16, 2016, and it was a sold out performance. Since it was a
night simply dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven, the symphonytitled the concert as Best of
Beethoven.
The first part of the concert played Beethoven s Choral Fantasy, also known as Fantasia, and it
lasted less than 30 minutes. It opened with a lady named Anastasia Markina, and she introduced the
piece with a slow virtuoso playing of the piano, to which later on the strings, cellos and basses,

Though my ears are not exceptionally honed nor trained to point out musical mistakes, I would like
to add that mistakes, if any, were not thoroughly noticeable. The musicians blended well and
produced the right effect based on the musical context. However, when the vocal soloists sang in
the final movement of the Ninth Symphony, their voices were drowned out by the loudness of the
orchestra and large chorus. It did not help that the soloists were located lower than chorus, which
made the perception of hearing the soloists more difficult. The conductor, Hector Guzman, was
effective in leading the music in that whenever the piece called for dynamics, his movements told
the musicians how much more or less it was needed. And also, Mr. Guzman did not just interact
with the orchestra, but the chorus and vocal soloists as well. He seemed to be respected by his
fellow musicians and gave the proper recognition to the soloists of the

Separation From Britain By Thomas Paine
Separation from Britain was a brilliant alternative route by the Second Continental Congress, and
their supporters, the patriots, they were not submissive to the Britain tyrannical reigning. However,
there are many online article, books, and credible websites that support the idea of America
remaining with the British for commercial and military purposes. But the delegates in the Second
Continental Congress, for example, John Dickson, George read, and many other colony
representatives, gained an opening in seceding from the British Crown. Since the American
RevolutionWar already began before the Second Continental Congress met, delegates wanted to
raise a stronger army and weapon to counter the Crown forces. Additionally, an English... Show

These arrangements from the Crown evoked in American political pundits and the American
people into calling for separation, made the colonies aggravated and invigorated into revolting
against the Crown. One example of the British ruler harsh engagements was from King George
the Third who fired artillery at the one of the colonies which was Boston and its people because
of the many political activist groups who refuse to abide into paying direct taxes for British tea,
and some members of the Son of Liberty invoking threats towards British officials input in the
colonies for tax collecting. Overall, there are many advantages for the colonies to fight for
individuality, in many aspects colonies who separate from the Britain have many upcoming
reimbursements and advantage by leaving British control. America s autonomy has many issues,
but one of the problems has been solved by colonist that Britain cloud not solve very well like
religious toleration and separation from church and state. In the mid 1600 century, Europe was
subjugated by Christian principles. The colonies, mainly people in Massachusetts, were refugees
escaping Britain s persecution, which were the Puritan. The Puritans and their government system

Plankey Young, 2012). According to Beavers, Giggey Tepe (2009), the prevalence of chronic pain
together with a mental disorder is 30%, which doubles the percentage of individuals without a

The most common users of CAM are women, people with higher education, and those who used
allopathic medicine (Najm, Reinsch, Hoehler, Tobis, 2003). In addition, CAM use is higher
among people living in rural areas than urban areas (Marshik et al,. 2016). CAM utilization can
be associated with psychosocial factors, ethnic and cultural characteristic, availability of health
care resources, and individual perception of physical and medical condition (Saunjoo Jeong Hee,
2013). The range of CAM treatments includes acupuncture, massage therapy, yoga, herbal
medicine, chiropractic, and homeopathy (Walker et al,. 2017). The increased use of CAM among
the general community has been attributed to the view that CAM is safer and less expensive than
conventional medications. However, there has been largely a lack of scientific data surrounding
CAM therapies, influenced by variation in knowledge level and lack of appreciation of existing
evidence (Walker et al,. 2017). Knupp, Esmail Warren (2009) indicated that occupational therapy
and CAM focus on actively engaging the patient in their treatment to involve the whole person, in
order to increase the quality of life and overall health. Knupp, Esmail Warren (2009) conducted a

An Explanation Of How Billing And Coding Works For...
B.An explanation of how billing and coding works for healthcare services
Medical billing and coding are two closely related aspects of the modern health care industry.
Both practices are involved in the immensely important reimbursement cycle, which ensures that
health care providers are paid for the services they perform. For the sake of simplicity, let s divide
the two at the moment and look at them as separate pieces of a larger process. We ll begin with
medical coding.
Medical Coding Medical coding, at its most basic, is a little like translation. It s the coder s job to
take something that s written one way (a doctor s diagnosis, for example, or a prescription for a
certain medication) and translate it as accurately as possible into a numeric or alphanumeric code.
For every injury, diagnosis, and medical procedure, there is a corresponding code. There are
thousands and thousands of codes for medical procedures, outpatient procedures, and diagnoses. Let
s start with a quick example of medical coding in action. A patient walks into a doctor s office with
a hacking cough, high production of mucus or sputum, and a fever. A nurse asks the patient their
symptoms and performs some initial tests, and then the doctor examines the patient and diagnoses
bronchitis. The doctor then prescribes medication to the patient.
Every part of this visit is recorded by the doctor or someone in the healthcare provider s office. It s
the medical coder s job to translate every bit of relevant

Phillip II of Macedon Essay
Phillip II of Macedon
The year was 359 BC. Greece, though weary from constant internal struggling still had supreme
power over the Hellenistic world. Persia, though it had suffered large setback in the Persian
Wars more then a century before was still a menacing force. The Barbarian State of Macedon
was led by warrior kings who aspired to be Greek, yet ruled over a feudal society that was as
multicultural as any of its time. Good morning Miss Boeston and class. Today s seminar will

greatness of the Macedonian Empire in the Fourth Century BC by examining several issues

He became well integrated into the politics and military of Greece, learning Greek political tactics
and military strategy. Philip, in effect, had learned to be a Greek general. He had also seen how
weak Greece was becoming with its painstakingly slow democratic system and the general
disunity that was becoming predominant after many years of internal quarreling. Also, his time
in Thebes gave him a greater understanding of the geography of Greece. He learned the
strongholds, and the weak cities of Greek society, and this would prove priceless in later
expeditions. When his brother died, he left his infant son, Amyntas as the heir to the throne. Philip
was, therefore, made regent, and had control of Macedon. He succeeded to the throne in 359 BC
in the traditional Macedonian custom a round of family assassinations. Macedon, at the time of
Philip s ascension to the throne, was not a very highly regarded northern state whose power
depended upon a warrior aristocracy. The kingship rested more on personal ascendancy then
institutions. Philip disposed of the young heir and immediately began implementing his plans to
unite Macedon, and control the Greek world. One of Philip s first and most notable achievements
was the creation of the National Army. He had learned the military tactics used in the Greek army
and structured his army on the model of the Theban phalanx. However, Philip only based his army
on the Greek model. He made sure that the Macedonian

system (including grouping patterns and social interactions), while the usage of calls can be more
flexibly adjusted, reflecting the quality of social interactions of the individuals (Maciej et al). This
shows that they did not have more vocal communication but the vocal communication that they did

compatible with the assumption that evolutionary constraints play an important role limiting the
flexibility in the structure of nonhuman primate vocalizations (Maciej et al). Evolution has caused

Outer Space Carry On Poetic Techniques
The song Outer Space/ Carry On by the Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer should really be
considered two songs totaling 6 minutes and 39 seconds, but they decided to make it just one.
The song appears on their sophomore album released in 2015 Sounds Good Feels Good. The
uniqueness of this track is what drew me to enjoying it so much. While this band has been called
anything from rock, to pop, to punk, I simply enjoy their soundwithout classifications. The song
begins as almost a chant of oh s from all four band members. A strong guitar sound and a
powerful drum beat help emphasize the start of the song. After the first line of chants, an
orchestra joins in to help slightly soften the sound before the song has truly even begun. Then
the chant, guitar, drums and orchestra fade rather abruptly for the singing to begin. Before any
words are said, a simple chiming of xylophone is heard with the orchestra even further in the
distance. The lead singer comes in with a voice like a lullaby, peaceful yet strong. The tranquility
of the first two lines of the song end unexpectedly with the clash of the lyrics, The rain it came too
soon, I will wait for you, along the drums slamming and the electric guitar shredding with every
syllable. From here, the song takes on a more classic rock sound in what is considered the chorus,

Early Classical Greek Sculpture
The main feature that defines the Early Classical Greek sculpture of the human body from the
Archaic Greek sculpture of the body is the pose of the body. Early Classical Greek sculptures of the
human body are asymmetrical. During this time period, sculptures started adapting the contrapposto
pose to their sculptures. The contrapposto pose brought more life and energy to the sculptures than
the previous Archaic Greek sculptures. Another feature that defines the Early Classical Greek
sculptureof the human body is that the sculptures were made from hollow casting bronze. This
technique allowed for more complex action poses to be developed. The sculptures during this
period, like the archaic period, were highly idealized forms of the human body.

A Brief Note On Crime And Crime Rates
Crime is one of the major issues that America has been facing for over one hundred years.
Although crime has been steadily decreasing ever since the 1990 s there are still a lot of room for
improvement. With this issue bring many subsequent problems, such as incarcerated people per
capita. This doesn t only have an extreme burden on those incarcerated and their families, but also
on the federal government. This costs them billions of dollars every year to control delinquent
behavior but it still hasn t worked to its full potential. There are three topics containing four
variables that must be considered when attempting to reduce crimerates. This includes police,
surveillance, and federal assistance. The variables they produce are,... Show more content on

The first studied found there was a strong correlation between the rate at which someone is
arrested for an offense and the rate of the same offense (Tittle and Rowe, 1974). This was mostly
seen in robberies, when a robber was arrested the rate of robberies would slightly decrease. This
poses two reason of the decrease, either the other people who frequently rob people do it less
frequently because they are frightened to also be arrested, or that the robber who was arrested
was a repeat offender. This is interesting because it doesn t have to be one or the other, the reality
is that there is most likely a mix of both happening. This effect was examined by another
researcher who coined the term the tipping effect, and understood that clearance rates only affect
some crime rates and not in others depending on the offense (Bailey n.d.). This means that the
clearance of a crime, which is the closing of an open case, either by arrest, death, etc. could not
always positively impact the crime rate. This is not only a difference in violent crimes and
property crimes because there was a negative association found in property crimes and clearance
rates (Logan, 1975).
This poses four main problems, first the fact that crime rates and clearance rates directly influence
each other. This is a major road block that is preventing the causal effect of the independent variable
on the crime

Persuasive Essay Dropout
In the United States alone, approximately 1.2 million students dropout of high school every year.
That means that 7,000 teenagers are dropping their high school education every day. I believe that
this is partially because the dropout age is currently sixteen years old in the majority of states. This
alarming number would only grow if the legal dropoutage dropped down to fourteen years old,
which is what many are speculating could happen sometime over the next few years. I think that
we could and should avoid this problem altogether by keeping the dropout age at sixteen years old,
if not raising it to eighteen years old.
My first and primary reason for believing that the dropout age should continue on as 16 years old,
if not older, is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many high school dropouts come to regret their decision to dropout later in life once their brains

high school come to regret their decision. I believe that if the dropout age to eighteen years old
there will be a significant change in the dropout rate. At that age, the PFC isn t completely there,
but it is definitely more developed. At eighteen years old, one has a better view on life and is able
to make a life altering decision with a clearer head.
According to PBS, the average high school dropout makes approximately $20,241 every year,
which is $10,386 less than someone with a bachelor s degree. This leads me to my second point
those who dropout of high school are practically guaranteed to lead to a less well off lifestyle. The
same source states that the national unemployment rate as of August 2015 was 8.1%. However,
this measured to 12% of American citizens who dropped out of high school and only 4.1% with a
college degree. Personally, I believe that most high schoolers don t have a clear view of the
future. Many of those that dropout of high school don t realize how desperately this is going to
effect their lives twenty years from now. This isn t only affecting them, but our country s economy.

Diagnosis And Treatment Of Prostate Cancer
When we have diseases or don t feel well, we tend to seek treatments and try to cure it as soon as

the only option is to do research. Life can be really difficult and no one wants any sickness or
diagnosed with such a hard to cure disease like cancer. Prostate Canceris a known cancer that
happens to men only and a lot of men in the U.S are diagnosed with it, and happens to male s
reproductive system. Specifically speaking, it is a gland found in the most private area of a man.
In the following paragraphs, I will be explaining why we need to find a way to combat prostate
cancer, how to detect this cancer at early stages, and the risks associated with prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death by cancer for men in the U.S. It mostly
affects African American men than men of other races. In addition, those men who suffer from
prostate cancer would not know that they are affected until they participate in a health checkup
or conduct self diagnoses. A healthy prostate gland should be about the size of a walnut or
smaller depend on individuals. According, to a cancer research center stated about why men are
more likely to get cancer ... men were more likely to die from any of the cancers investigated in the

Monologue Of Macbeth
It was clear to see that his highness was not well. From the moment he spoke to the mysterious

soon as Macbeth dismissed the man, she roped him back in like a hunter catching a wild animal.
The king returned to the table to start our banquet, but looked to have a glint of worry in his eyes.
To begin the evening his highness toasted to to all the lords and the missing Banquo. I must

Charlotte Beers Case Summary
BACKGROUND
Charlotte Beers became Ogilvy Mather s first outsider CEO after its acquisition by WPP Group
Plc in 1991. According to her memo dated May 19th, Beers objective was to re invent the mega
agency, whose inertia and complacency had eroded its competitiveness since the 1980s. In fact,
Beer s tenure at Ogilvy constituted a re creation of the agency, redefining its aims, processes,
people, and structure in reaction to the demands placed by the changing advertising industry.
ANALYSIS
The main issue that confronted Beers was initiating and instituting organizational change at the core
level. She assumed the leadership of Ogilvy at a time when the organization was internally bleeding.

HOW CHARLOTTE BEERS LEADERSHIP CREATED STRATEGIC CHANGE
Ogilvy s insiders quickly perceived a presence and ability to inspire in Beers that they had not
found in the firm s four previous CEOs. Despite the company s typical rejection of outsiders,
Beers known passionate interest in the philosophy of marketing, and her pride in the Ogilvy
brand made many executives receptive to her leadership. Since no one makes change happen
alone, the charisma she inspired was crucial for Beers to initiate the process of change. It was the
magic leadership that O M had not seen since David Ogilvy left.
Beers quickly exploited her charisma by instituting a process that conformed to Beer, Eisenstat
Spector s model for effective organizational change. First, Beers immediately mobilized
commitment to change through her videotaped appeal to all 7,000 Ogilvy employees, as well as
in one on one meetings with executives. In addition, Beers gained valuable perspective by meeting
with 50 clients in 6 months. In each instance, Beers relied on her charisma to coax shared

what they can accomplish together, Beers sought a shared vision of how Ogilvy could organize and
manage for competitiveness. Her rallying point: Brand Stewardship.

Beyond 1492 Encounter In Colonial North America Summary
Read Write #1 Beyond 1492: Native Reactions to Invasion America has come a long way since
Columbus began his voyage in 1492. In Beyond 1492: Encounter in Colonial North America,
James Axtell explains that when it comes to the Indian European encounter, there s more to the
story than what the average person grasps. Most people know of how the Natives were mistreated
and killed off by the Europeans with biological warfare and that a couple thousands of years later
the Pilgrims and Natives had their first feast together known as Thanksgiving . However, in chapter
four, Axtell s essay describes that surprisingly, there was a variety of ways Indians responded to the
Europeans that invaded their lands in the wake of Columbus. Axtell chronologically recapitulates
the history of the Indian reactions to the European encounters up until the 1700 s and categorizes
them into 5 strategies.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the Natives were more on the defensive side when the Europeans arrived, they did not act

Europeans, Axtell stated that the Natives employed 5 different strategies being to incorporate them
and when that didn t work, they attempted to beat them, then join them, then parrot them in their
ways enough to trounce them in their own game. When all of the above failed, they resulted to

Jim Crow Essay
Fall 2010
Term Paper The Strange Career of Jim Crow by Van Woodward is based on the time period
surrounding the Civil Rights Movement. This book is an accurate account of events that occurred
during this time. It shows how the 1896 US Supreme Court Ruling affected blacks and the
obstacles they faced to overcome. This book shows how the rights of African Americans have
evolved over time. Van Woodward did an excellent job illustrating the events of history with The
Strange Career of Jim Crow and created a factual account of history that is still used in classrooms
today. The historical context in which this book was written surrounds the events that took place

referred to this book by Van Woodward as the historical bible of the civil rights movement
because it spoke about the difficulties of race relations and brought attention to what blacks
went through to get to where they are today. Martin Luther King Jr. was a respected figure and
had a dream for equality among blacks and whites. King liked the message that this book
provided. Van Woodward writes striking incongruities appeared between the needs and moods
of the black ghetto and the goals and strategies of the civil rights crusade, as typified by the
leadership of Martin Luther King Jr., and voiced in his lyrical dream (Van Woodward, 193). In
1896, the court case of Plessy vs. Ferguson ruled that the states had the right to legally segregate
public facilities. This court ruling fueled the fire of Southerners in regards to race relations, leading
to the Jim Crow laws. These laws went as far as to say blacks could not cut a white person s hair,
drink from the same water fountain as a white person, and established a test for blacks to take
prior to getting a ballot. The Strange Career of Jim Crow is a book that opens reader s eyes to
obstacles that black people faced during this period of time. Van Woodward does an excellent job
in this book illustrating history. He provides factual and vivid examples of the racism that blacks
faced in their fight for equality. It is obvious that this is a well written book in that it is still being

Tension Between Japan And Russia
Before looking at the war, it is important to look at how tensions between the Russians and the
Japanese started.
Before the Russo Japanese War, the Japanese and the Russians did not have contact with each other
until the 1800s. The Japanese did not want European influence during the beginning of the 1600s.
The first Europeans to come into contact and successfully trade with Japan was the Dutch in 1638.
The first Japanese person to go to Russia was Dembei in 1697, and it was not until 1739 that the
first Russians arrived in Japan. The Japanese refused to trade with the Russians for a long time,
and it was not until a Russian expedition that followed after Admiral Perry s expedition in 1853 did
trade talks start with Japan. After more than

Nurse Leader Essay
Nurse Leader
Leadership does not always come with a title or prestige. Every nurse has within themselves
qualities that make them a great leader. Leadership by definition, is a combination of intrinsic
personality traits, learned leadership skills, and characteristics of the situation (Cherry Jacob
(2013 p. 335). A leader is one who has the capacity and skills to direct or encourage others in
efforts to achieve an outcome. I recently completed a self assessment on my perceived leadership
abilities. The survey was called the Nurse Manager Skills Inventory (Nurse Manager Leadership

Personal Journey Disciplines I have the opportunity to participate in shared leadership as I lead

I believe it is a good practice to ponder decisions made to determine if possibly a different path or

Reflective Practice Reference Behaviors/Tenets Personal reflection is individualized and as such
there are several methods that can be utilized. The tenant I need to personally work on is the
appreciation of ambiguity. I do appreciate everyone s uniqueness and value every person as a

Equal Protection Clause In America
The Fourteenth amendment of the United States of America has had a major impact on modern
society and has helped continued to progress society forward in the attribute That is the equal

The most well known way equal protection clause has shaped modern society has been during the
fight for equal rights of same sex marriage in the United States. Same sex marriage was illegal in
the majority of the states until June 26, 2016. This meant essentially that homosexual couples were
denied the basic right to marry each other and be in an official documented relationship. This
violated the equal protection clause due to the fact that gay or lesbian weren t treated equally
compared to heterosexual couples and denied their right to marriage. The fight for equal marriage
continued further for two to three years until finally in June of 2016 the supreme court issued that
same sex marriage is officially legal in all fifty states across the U.S. solidifying the Fourteenth
amendment as truly far reaching. One major unresolved issue that the Fourteenth amendment can
aid to is racial equality. A Major problem today is the treatment of African American citizens by
certain law enforcement agencies. often, African American citizens have been violently attacked
and in some cases even killed for reasons that are extremely undeserving. Police forces are violating

Trope Of Shame In Lancelot And Guinevere
Throughout this course, the class has read various pieces of Arthurian literature. Each of these
pieces hold their own contributions in the genre and differentiate both plot and concepts. Most of
these concepts can be labeled as tropes, which are figurative or metaphorical use of a word or
expression. One trope that was found while analyzing the texts was shame, or the painful feeling of
humiliation. The trope of shame is prominent in both the medieval legend Lancelot or the Knight of
the Cart and Natsume Soseki s more modern story, Kairo ko. Both sources emphasizes the shame
that is felt by Lancelot and Guineverebut in two very contrasting ways. These sources can also be
compared to the tale Sir Gawainin the Green Knight, which deals with shame a lesson that can be
learned, rather than a pitiful thing. All three of these Arthurian legends use the trope of shame to
shape both the characters and stories in their own way.
In ChrГ©tien de Troyes Lancelot or the Knight of the Cart, Lancelot s first shameful action is
hesitating after his is offered to ride in the prisoner cart by the dwarf driving it. ChrГ©tien de
Troyes writes: At that, the dwarf continued on his way without slowing down even an instant for
the knight, who hesitated but two steps before climbing in. He would regret this moment of
hesitation and be accused and shamed for it; he would come to consider himself ill used. But
Reason, who does not follow Love s command, told him to beware of getting in, warned and and
counseled him not to do anything for which he might incur disgrace or reproach (177). No matter
what decision Lancelot would have made, he would have been shamed in the end. If Lancelot have
no hesitated, he would have been shamed by the rest of the knightly community for riding the cart
despite his mentality. No matter what, Guinevere would have pressured Lancelot into shame for
hesitation or not riding the cart in general.
After Lancelot finds Guinevere, the forbidden lovers have a conversation regarding Lancelot s
adventure. It it revealed that Guinevere knows about Lancelot s two step hesitation to get into the
dwarf s cart and is displeased with his actions. Guinevere replies to Lancelot s question of
displeasement with this:

Compare Summer Night Dream And A Friday Night s Dream
A Friday Night Light s Dream is a heartwarming love triangle story about classic high school love

of telling stereotypical high school events, however, two very happy couples emerge from this

that lovecan make an individual do irrational things. One of the first evident connections between
A Midsummer Night s Dream and A Friday Night Light s Dream, is the impact that parental

Demetrius and not Lysander. Specifically, Egeus states, Stand forth, Demetrius. My noble lord,
This man hath my consent to marry her. Stand forth, Lysander. And, my gracious duke, This man

will allow to marry his daughter. Additionally, it is easy to see that he is very unhappy that
Lysander has stolen his daughter s heart, and even goes as

Some authors consider it to be a type of interactive simulation that teachers use to involve
students and develop their understanding as in role play the participants act the role of a
character in a particular situation (Lean, Moizer, Towler, Abbey, 2006). Also, according to Van
Hasselt et al., (2005), this learning technique helps develop active listening skills, social problem
solving skills and demonstration of emotional empathy. Brummel et al., (2010) states that students
appreciate the role play practice because it catches their attention as well as motivates them to
learn and expand their knowledge about the situation and how to resolve it in different ways. One
of the most popular approaches to role plays in the Role Switch model, which consists in learning
from the inside out as the person takes the role of another person in order to understand their
thoughts and actions. Another tactic is called Almost Real Life in which a person role plays an
experience as close as possible to the real situation in order to apply his skills in a pretended safe
atmosphere. From Kettula and Berghäll (2012) point of view, there are two different approaches
to role play: unstructured/ developmental and structured/method centered. The first approach is
used to deal with justly complex settings and it is related to learning attitudes and motivations while
structured/ method centered focus more in

Death March Research Paper
The death marches were hideous forced marches made to move Holocaust prisoners from one
camp to another. Many of them met their end here, and in fact, thousands of prisoners died of
exposure, starvation, and exhaustion (ushmm.org 2017). On January 18, 1945, the first death
march of the Holocaust occurred. Thousands are killed in the days before the death march
(ushmm.org 2017). The prisoners forced on these dreadful walks were taken from Auschwitz, and
almost 60,000 of them were commanded to leave their barracks. They began marching to
Gliwice, another concentration camp. Over 15,000 innocent lives were wasted that day. The few
lucky ones who were left alive were liberated on January 27. There were three main purposes of
death marches. The first was to eliminate evidence by killing thousands of the prisoners, who could
later account for the awful things done to them if left alive. The second was that leaders... Show

President Roosevelt Hypertension
Background
As late as about seven decades ago, elevated blood pressure was considered by many expert
physicians to be necessary for the adequate perfusion of vital organs. It was deemed as an
unavoidable, hence essential, component of the aging process leading to the coining of the term
essential hypertension . High blood pressure (BP) was considered as probable natural and necessary
compensatory phenomenon that should be left alone even if there were effective treatments (Hay,
1931; White, 1937). This notion was further strengthened by the observed elevated misery and
premature death recorded for the patients that were treated for hypertension with the few drugs that
were available at the time compared to those that were left untreated (Goldring, ... Show more

For instance, the onetime US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt was given a clean bill of health by

Yalta, Winston Churchill s personal physician noted in his diary that President Roosevelt appeared
to be have had signs of hardening of the arteries disease and had a few months to live. Subsequent
events demonstrated the truth of his diagnosis. President Roosevelt ultimately had a fatal
hemorrhagic stroke 2 months later, and his death brought hypertension s potential as a deadly
malady to the lime light (Mahmood, Levy, Vasan, Wang, 2014). Three years after Roosevelt s death,
the pivotal National Heart Act was signed into law by President Truman. The Act created the path
for the study of heart diseases and resulted in several studies including the Framingham Heart Study.
The Framingham studies consistently showed that hypertension, such as hyperlipidemia, was
associated with many cardiovascular morbidities such as stroke, heart failure, and heart attacks
leading to premature deaths and the risk was clearly higher with higher blood pressure (systolic and
diastolic). Even before the Framingham studies, many insurance companies had already begun
measuring BP for policyholders physical examinations. Furthermore, several studies done by the

higher BP (Kannel, Wolf, Veter, McNamara, 1970; Kannel, Schwartz, McNamara,

Reflection About Art
I have never been into art or liked the arts for that matter, I cannot draw to save my life and being
creative with art brings my imagination to a halt. When I saw this project, I wasn t sure what I
would use to help make the art, most people I saw were using metals, but I wanted to do something
different and that made me nervous. But I had an even harder time figuring out what I wanted to
create. I had about a million ideas in my head, but had an extremely hard time looking at things that
I found and picturing them all together becoming a sculpture.
I started out with sticks and paper garbage that I had found around my home and the places where
I walk my dogs. I didn t know what I wanted to do with them, but I felt like they were the material
I wanted to use. After I had gathered enough sticks and pieces of paper that I found on the ground
I sat down and tried to brainstorm what I could make. I came up with the idea of getting the sticks
together in a ball and gluing the trash paper on to create the look of the continents and the sticks be
a globe. I figured out very fast that the sticks would not hold together, even after I soaked them in
water. I ditched that idea and moved on to a new one.
I still had all the garbage that I found and figured I could make good use of that. After ditching

Effects Of Alcohol On The Body s Organs And Brain Activity
Alcohol is a recreational drug which contains ethanol (Drugfreeworld.org, 2016), a depressant
that prolongs the messages from the brain to the body affecting the way one thinks, feels and
behaves (Alcoholthinkagain.com.au, 2014). Excessive alcohol consumption can have many
negative effects on the body s organs and brain activity. Major health problems such as
cardiovascular disease, cirrhosis, depression, gout and pancreatitis can occur as a result of
consuming large quantities of alcohol and have the potential to be fatal (Freeman, 2016). Binge
Drinking is the act of consuming an excessive amount of alcoholic beverages within a short
period of time with intentions to become heavily intoxicated (Dictionary.com,2014). Males in
there 40 s and late 20 s are most likely to exceed the recommended level of alcohol consumption
and young women aged 18 24 are foreseen to excessively drink alcoholic beverages
(Nhmrc.gov.au, 2015). Adolescents aged 13 17 also engage in excessive drinking although
evoked due to observing others such as guardians, siblings and peers as well as the existence of
peer pressure to consume alcohol and appear socially acceptable. Binge Drinking will have short
term effects on the health of an individual leading to memory loss, vomiting and headaches and
long term effects such as anxiety, a variety of cancers and infertility (Knowyourlimits.info, 2013).
In Australia 15 individuals die from these alcohol related diseases and illnesses each day (Santow,
2014).

When an economy is suffering, people will look for an entity or person to blame yes, but they
also eagerly and sometimes blindly accept what they might justify as the lesser of two evils. In
this case, Evil is identified and there is nothing lesser about it. In the early 1900 s what they found
changed and also ended the lives of millions. World War II and the hardship it brought upon
Germanywas just the tool that one man in particular took advantage of for his own personal gain
and ideology. Born in Australia in 1889, Aldoph Hitler came to be one of the most famed and later
despised person s in human history. Many have written about his life and what he accomplished or
yet, what he did. Many have tried to explain the why in hopes that... Show more content on

He had pictures of himself plastered everywhere. Children were forced to praise and honor his
image in school and speeches were broadcast over the air, TV and in the streets. This behavior
reminds me of how cult leaders of today find their victims or followers; they exploit person s
weaknesses and offer a solution, a better way of life and a feeling of uniqueness or belonging.
Hitler seized this opportunity to claim that the democratic system had failed the German people
and that the Nazis were their only hope (Why, 2013). Almost everyone is guilty of adding a little
fluff to a statement or claim in order to make it more believable or agreeable. Take this same
situation presented twice, using a different approach each time. Wife says to husband, We need
to talk (Imagine her arms folded, jaw slightly extended forward in an assertive manner). How
willingly do you think the husband will be to give her 100% of his attention and be in good
spirits about it? Instead imagine the situation approached like this: Wife says, Husband, there is
something I need your help with (one hand outstretched to hold his, a smile on her face instead
of a glare). Hitler knew how to use power words, how to sell himself like a used car salesman in
order to win favor and even how to present a boldfaced lie and have it believed. When favor wasn
t granted, intimidation was his fallback plan. In a Reichstag speech on April 28, 1939 Hitler

Endangered Species Essay
Richard Nixon once said, Nothing is more priceless and worthy of preservation than the rich
array of animal life with which our country has been blessed. The world is full of a wide variety
of animal and plants. On the other hand, some of that variety is endangered. The definition of an
endangered species is a species that is at a critical risk of extinction. Not only can different
species be endangered, they can also be categorized into six major categories which are;
vulnerable, endangered, critically endangered, and extinct in the wild. The IUCN (International
Union for Conservation of Nature) is one of the main resources for the categorization of these
species. The Genus name is Macaca silenus and it is a part of the endangered speciescategory. This
lion tailed macaqueis endangered because of deforestation of their habitat. It is estimated that there
are less than one thousand individuals remaining in their habitats in India. During the last few
decades there has been a dramatic decrease. This species has declined due to habitat fragmentation
(Singh). This form of deforestation is caused because of the major increase in agriculture in the
Indian mountains. While deforestation is the leading cause in their endangered status, it is not the
only reason. Over the years there has been an increase in shelters and safe zones for this species,
but will their population continue to decrease? lion tailed macaque is also called the Wanderoo,
which is the common name, is a primate that spends most of their lifespan in the trees of the
Western Ghatsmountain range in three southern states in India. Which are, Kerala, Tamil Nadu
and Karnataka. This species can weigh up to twenty two pounds and can reach the length of
twenty four inches long when in adulthood (IUCN). They have a dark black slim body with a
lighter area with a grey silvery fur that hangs down surrounding the face. They receive the name
the lion tailed macaque because of their tail, which is long tuft and slender. The lion tailed
macaque is considered the most endangered and smallest group of the species the macaque
monkey. Monkeys of this species type only live in small family groups of three to four which
usually are composed of a female, her

Growth Admendations Of TRC Synergy Verhad And UEM Sunrise...
Two public listed company that I choosed are TRC Synergy Berhad (TRC) and UEM Sunrise
Berhad (UEMS). Both company was in the same industry which is construction and have active
stock in Bursa stock exchange. Based on the research done by PublicInvest Research on the
TRC Synergy Berhad (TRC) news of A slice of Pan Borneo , the recommendation given for
investor is to Trading Buy. The recommendation done based on a few factor that influence the
growth opportunities of TRC s share. Earlier on, PublicInvest Research in a report dated July 22
said that TRC has already been shortlisted as one of the contractors for the projects of Pan Borneo
highway, with each of the package valued about RM1.4billion to RM1.5billion. In early of August,

As for TRC, PublicInvest Research suggest to maintain Trading Buy. This is due to positive
newsflow from the Pan Borneo highway project that expected to contribute positively to the
earnings and earnings per share (EPS) of the TRC group in the future. Meanwhile, for UEMS,
MIDF Research recommendation for investors is to maintain Neutral call for their share. The
called off news will not affect earnings forecast of UEMS. This is because UEMS may be
conserving its financial resources into a Joint Land Development Agreement (JLDA) with TM to

  • 2. The Patriot Act Essay The Patriot Act. On September 11, 2001 Muslim terrorists instilled with a hatred of the west attacked the United States in a brutal fashion. Planes were hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center in New York. Over three thousand people were killed and the impregnable nation known as America was know scared and vulnerable. Almost immediately the legislature began drafting an act that would make the war on terror and the fight for homeland security a little easier to fight, this would come to be known as the Patriot Act PATRIOT is an acronym for Uniting and Strengthening America by providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism. The Patriot Act allows the government and law enforcement agencies to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is especially true for groups of people in the United States. Immigrants, especially of Arab origin and those with Islam as their religion are seen as terrorists. This is blatant racism and discrimination which is also completely against what this country stands for. Also concerned is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). This is an organization that is dedicated to raising awareness of civil liberties. The PATRIOT Act, as the name suggests is supposed to protect the citizens of the country from attacks across its borders. It defeats its own purpose in attacking from within the very people it s supposed to protect. In fact, it does almost the opposite by provoking a fear and paranoia that tends to remind us of such wonderful events like the Spanish inquisition or the Salem Witch Trials. The ACLU talks about several groups that are unfairly targeted by the Act to the extent that the constitution is being violated. I have already talked about Arab and Muslims but even neighbors are supposed to report anything that appears suspicious. Turning people against each other is not only a reminder of the above mentioned historical events but it also leads to fear in a place where none is needed. The Act gives law enforcement the right to search any building or residence that might prove suspect. It seems that such suspicion is easy to provoke making it likely that an innocent law abiding citizen will find himself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Stone Angel, By Margaret Laurence One s insecurities can only be temporarily resolved by pride, because it creates problems that do not exist in the first place. Excessive pride is associated with one s need to feel superior, only myopic people display it. Proud people are often emotionless to avoid vulnerability in social situations, because showing emotionat all appears weak. In Margaret Laurences The Stone Angel, Hagar Shipley looks back on her life with regret, and spends most of her life not knowing why she misses so many opportunities. Until she lives without pride, Hagar is oblivious of her mistakes. She fails to benefit anyone else because of her focus on having a strong personality. Her fear of showing weak emotions keeps her from showing emotion at all; she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hagar s inability to be wrong causes Bram and herself to argue throughout their relationship, such as what Bram spends his money on. Hagar does not even consider Bram s opinions. Bram becomes so used to her stubbornness that he does not expect Hagar to ever show compassion. Hagar apologizes to Bram for the first time in their relationship following the argument, and Bram did not expect it: Bram looked up at me with such a look of surprise that it pains me still, in recalling (Laurence 87). Hagar s pride impacts the relationship she has with her father and husband in a negative way; her father s or husband s opinion should be considered just as much as hers. Hagar treats her peers poorly because of the temporary pleasure she gets out of it, her feelings of superiority fade in her elder years because embarrassment constantly attacks her pride. Hagar feels inferior to Doris when Doris undresses her. Hagar s insecurites outbalance her feelings of superiority, and she can show emotion to Marvin: I m frightened. Though my ears are not exceptionally honed nor trained to point out musical mistakes, I would like to add that mistakes, if any, were not thoroughly noticeable. The musicians blended well and produced the right effect based on the musical context. However, when the vocal soloists sang in the final movement of the Ninth Symphony, their voices were drowned out by the loudness of the orchestra and large chorus. It did not help that the soloists were located lower than chorus, which made the perception of hearing the soloists more difficult. The conductor, Hector Guzman, was effective in leading the music in that whenever the piece called for dynamics, his movements told the musicians how much more or less it was needed. And also, Mr. Guzman did not just interact with the orchestra, but the chorus and vocal soloists as well. • 7. An Explanation Of How Billing And Coding Works For... B.An explanation of how billing and coding works for healthcare services Medical billing and coding are two closely related aspects of the modern health care industry. Both practices are involved in the immensely important reimbursement cycle, which ensures that health care providers are paid for the services they perform. For the sake of simplicity, let s divide the two at the moment and look at them as separate pieces of a larger process. We ll begin with medical coding. Medical Coding Medical coding, at its most basic, is a little like translation. It s the coder s job to take something that s written one way (a doctor s diagnosis, for example, or a prescription for a certain medication) and translate it as accurately as possible into a numeric or alphanumeric code. For every injury, diagnosis, and medical procedure, there is a corresponding code. There are thousands and thousands of codes for medical procedures, outpatient procedures, and diagnoses. Let s start with a quick example of medical coding in action. A patient walks into a doctor s office with a hacking cough, high production of mucus or sputum, and a fever. A nurse asks the patient their symptoms and performs some initial tests, and then the doctor examines the patient and diagnoses bronchitis. The doctor then prescribes medication to the patient. Every part of this visit is recorded by the doctor or someone in the healthcare provider s office. It s the medical coder s job to translate every bit of relevant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Philip, in effect, had learned to be a Greek general. Also, his time in Thebes gave him a greater understanding of the geography of Greece. He learned the strongholds, and the weak cities of Greek society, and this would prove priceless in later expeditions. When his brother died, he left his infant son, Amyntas as the heir to the throne. Philip was, therefore, made regent, and had control of Macedon. He succeeded to the throne in 359 BC in the traditional Macedonian custom a round of family assassinations. Macedon, at the time of Philip s ascension to the throne, was not a very highly regarded northern state whose power depended upon a warrior aristocracy. The kingship rested more on personal ascendancy then institutions. Philip disposed of the young heir and immediately began implementing his plans to unite Macedon, and control the Greek world. The song appears on their sophomore album released in 2015 Sounds Good Feels Good. The uniqueness of this track is what drew me to enjoying it so much. While this band has been called anything from rock, to pop, to punk, I simply enjoy their soundwithout classifications. The song begins as almost a chant of oh s from all four band members. A strong guitar sound and a powerful drum beat help emphasize the start of the song. After the first line of chants, an orchestra joins in to help slightly soften the sound before the song has truly even begun. Then the chant, guitar, drums and orchestra fade rather abruptly for the singing to begin. Before any words are said, a simple chiming of xylophone is heard with the orchestra even further in the distance. The lead singer comes in with a voice like a lullaby, peaceful yet strong. This doesn t only have an extreme burden on those incarcerated and their families, but also on the federal government. The first studied found there was a strong correlation between the rate at which someone is arrested for an offense and the rate of the same offense (Tittle and Rowe, 1974). This was mostly seen in robberies, when a robber was arrested the rate of robberies would slightly decrease. This poses two reason of the decrease, either the other people who frequently rob people do it less frequently because they are frightened to also be arrested, or that the robber who was arrested was a repeat offender. This is interesting because it doesn t have to be one or the other, the reality is that there is most likely a mix of both happening. This effect was examined by another researcher who coined the term the tipping effect, and understood that clearance rates only affect some crime rates and not in others depending on the offense (Bailey n.d.). This means that the clearance of a crime, which is the closing of an open case, either by arrest, death, etc. could not always positively impact the crime rate. This is not only a difference in violent crimes and property crimes because there was a negative association found in property crimes and clearance rates (Logan, 1975). This poses four main problems, first the fact that crime rates and clearance rates directly influence each other. This is a major road block that is preventing the causal effect of the independent variable on the crime ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Same sex marriage was illegal in the majority of the states until June 26, 2016. This violated the equal protection clause due to the fact that gay or lesbian weren t treated equally compared to heterosexual couples and denied their right to marriage. The fight for equal marriage continued further for two to three years until finally in June of 2016 the supreme court issued that same sex marriage is officially legal in all fifty states across the U.S. solidifying the Fourteenth amendment as truly far reaching. • 26. Trope Of Shame In Lancelot And Guinevere Throughout this course, the class has read various pieces of Arthurian literature. Each of these pieces hold their own contributions in the genre and differentiate both plot and concepts. Most of these concepts can be labeled as tropes, which are figurative or metaphorical use of a word or expression. One trope that was found while analyzing the texts was shame, or the painful feeling of humiliation. The trope of shame is prominent in both the medieval legend Lancelot or the Knight of the Cart and Natsume Soseki s more modern story, Kairo ko. Both sources emphasizes the shame that is felt by Lancelot and Guineverebut in two very contrasting ways. These sources can also be compared to the tale Sir Gawainin the Green Knight, which deals with shame a lesson that can be learned, rather than a pitiful thing. All three of these Arthurian legends use the trope of shame to shape both the characters and stories in their own way. In ChrГ©tien de Troyes Lancelot or the Knight of the Cart, Lancelot s first shameful action is hesitating after his is offered to ride in the prisoner cart by the dwarf driving it. ChrГ©tien de Troyes writes: At that, the dwarf continued on his way without slowing down even an instant for the knight, who hesitated but two steps before climbing in. He would regret this moment of hesitation and be accused and shamed for it; he would come to consider himself ill used. But Reason, who does not follow Love s command, told him to beware of getting in, warned and and counseled him not to do anything for which he might incur disgrace or reproach (177). No matter what decision Lancelot would have made, he would have been shamed in the end. If Lancelot have no hesitated, he would have been shamed by the rest of the knightly community for riding the cart despite his mentality. No matter what, Guinevere would have pressured Lancelot into shame for hesitation or not riding the cart in general. After Lancelot finds Guinevere, the forbidden lovers have a conversation regarding Lancelot s adventure. It it revealed that Guinevere knows about Lancelot s two step hesitation to get into the dwarf s cart and is displeased with his actions. High blood pressure (BP) was considered as probable natural and necessary compensatory phenomenon that should be left alone even if there were effective treatments (Hay, 1931; White, 1937).
