Russell Brand Research Paper
Ever wondered what it is like to go through years of rejection and drug abuse and not know what
true reality is like? Russell Brand went through all of it: it started with his childhood and his school
years to going through rehab than getting big. Russell has a hard time changing his ways but it s
often the thoughtof others that helps him make these changes; he wants to set a good example and
hope people will also make good decisions. So Russell overcame his addictions to become a
successful actor/ comedian.
In the beginning of Russell Brands childhood he went through many complications (The

his mother and hasn t been back. He lived with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Russell finally agreed to get help (CBS Los Angeles.com). After realizing what he was doing to
his family and friends and he was also scared if he didn t quit now he never would and he could
either end up in jail or dead. At first he tried to fix himself by staying away from drugs as much
as possible. When he found out that Amy Winehouse had died from drugs it made a great
impact on Russell (CBS Los Angeles.com). Amy was a great inspiration to Russell, he was also
good friends with her and never wanted to see her this way. He regrets letting his addiction get
so bad for he feels like there could have been some kind of way he could have saved or helped
Amy (CBS Los Angeles.com). He claims now that the drugs were never the problem, the
problem was not knowing what reality was like. He feels that he could never love someone with
this problem. He could only think of how could anyone love him (CBS Los Angeles.com). He
had been threatened that if he could not change he would be sent to prison for years at a time.
He stopped doing drugs and drinking. He now calls people on an AA list to talk about when he
feels the urge to do drugs and drink and they help him get better and keeps him from thinking
about them (CBS Los Angeles.com). Alot of times he would hope they wouldn t answer so he
didn t have to think about how bad he had become. Russell started an organization called Freehab

Why Is Canada An Oppressive Colonist
Many First Nations groups felt the numbered treaties signed by the Dominion Government and their
First Nations Chiefs between 1877 1921 were rushed and disorganized.
The lack of organization limited the Aboriginals and resulted in unfulfilled promises. Because the
government was more concerned with changing the carious First Nations groups rather than
collaborating / negotiating with them, Canada was seen as an oppressive colonizer. Upon signing
the treaties, Canada obtained control of most aspects of society; especially in regards to schooling,
resource extraction, land use, and implementation of laws for various social issues. This lead to
limited funds for education, supplies, and minimal allocation of land for the First Nation groups

Standardized Tests In Schools
School is supposed to be a place where children learn and are prepared to conquer themselves and
the real world, but are there real potential being overseen and shunned? A person described as
being of low ability now, in the present, is assumed to have more limited learning potential than
those who may be judged to be more able , says Claire Taylor. Does this mean that students who
could be exemplary at things such as therapy, math, reading, or S.T.E.M., could potentially be
overlooked, simply because they don t have the right environment to stretch their legs and prove
their potential?
I feel like I have the ability to do a lot of things, but the way the school system is set up, I also feel
like I m unable to present my real abilities, Says Skylar Gold of Omaha Middle School. It
probably doesn t help that students who are lucky enough to be in programs such as Algebra, or
IMPACT make the other students feel insecure. Just because they can recite the Gettysburg
Address, doesn t mean they re smart enough to be able to realize that being narcissistic towards
those students only limits their potential more. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Does Blake Use Figurative Language In The Lamb
The Lamb , a poem from a series written by William Blake, begins with and revolves around a
young lamb who has not yet experienced the world and its mishaps. Center of the poem, the lamb is
continuously being examined. Through the use of rhetorical questions, allusions, symbols, and
other figurative language, Blake clearly illustrates the theme that innocence provides a means for
taking joy in natural creation. While the lambreferred to in this poem of Blake s is portrayed to be
tender and very childlike, I would not say that the poem was made solely for the eyes of the
youth. One way this poem has been perceived that opposes my opinion is that Blake wrote it for
children to see or hear (Bussey 2001). This must have been gathered from the way Blake uses
simplistic verses involving allusions to the lamb of the bible or, JesusChrist as children are often
taught. However, what this view fails to acknowledge despite the poem s effortlessness is the
level of vocabulary such as words like mead , vales , and meek . These words may at first not
appear very difficult, but when seen from the eyes of perhaps an eight year old, they may not
completely grasp the full picture.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When really thought through, the lamb does not know who made thee. In the world inhabited by
the child in The Lamb, questions are just a playful pretense. The purpose of these questions is to
get the knowledge of the nature of life circulating, so it can make all the vales rejoice. (Aubrey
2011). What Aubrey is getting at here, which I completely agree with, is that Blake uses these
rhetorical questions to get imagination going, allowing the reader to become intellectually and
emotionally involved in his

Key Characteristics Of Data Warehouse By William H. Immon
Data warehouse does not mean just place for store data or save historical record of data, the
form of multi data source can be deceptive. Because, you can control of how big of data
warehouse will be. Data warehouse was founded by William H. Immon and he defines it as
subject oriented, integrated, nonvolatile, time variant collection of data organized to support
management needs The major of subjects is arranged in data warehouse. For example,
inventory, products and customer, to get more benefits form data warehouse it must be
integrated by collecting from databases across enterprises, the information for customers should
have code or described specifically according to departments. All departments the procedures on
database are updated on a regular basis with deletion, insertion and changes. The operations that
only be in data warehouse the data can be loaded and the data can be accessed. Once whole data
forms and models are recorded, the data can not change. The design of retrospective data
warehousing is traditional, and many questions before starting design to be work as required.
What we sale? What will be the importance of our debt in the next six months? Where is the best
market for a new service? A data warehouse in the World Wide Web is a predictable to save

characteristics of data warehouse There are many characteristics of data warehouse that gives
advantages to establish it to get benefits. For example, data warehouse can save long amount of
historical data, end users are time sensitive, queries often retrieve large amount of data, the data
can load multiple sources and transformation and data warehouse can improve access to data and
enhance quality of data, I will write broadly about this feature for data warehouse which is
enhancing quality of data. Companies and other organizations always use multiple factors and
guide the data warehousing manager allowing resources by identifying data quality improvements
which increases value to the users of data, sometimes data warehousing efforts does not get success

Activation Synthesis Theory Of Sleep
Sleep is a beautiful thing, but people do not get enough of it. It is a time for the body to
rejuvenate and process the events of the day. Sleeping is something that we seek out. Getting the
recommended amount of sleep allows our body to function properly the next day. Without it, there
could be detrimental consequences. The National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke
says that without sleep, neurons could be polluted with byproducts . In severe cases, people who
get very little sleep often experience mood swings, hallucinations and cells do not continue to
reproduce. According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleeping makes up one third of a person s
lifetime. Despite that fact, people do not get nearly enough sleep to be productive.... Show more

I was not able to sleep as much during the school week. Monday night through Friday morning, I
averaged five hours of sleep. Because I was unable to go through the four stages of sleep and
REM sleep, I did not function to my fullest potential. During school, I found it difficult to focus.
My lack of sleep did not allow me to remember very many of my dreams during the school week.
From Friday night to Sunday night, I was able to sleep much more because I did not have a
crushing amount of homework. Although I did sleep the recommended eight hours those days,
I only remember a little snippet of a dream. From Friday night to Saturday morning, I remember
my family and I on a beach together in Hawaii. Dreaming about Hawaii represents trying to
escape your daily problems. That is fitting because the end of the school week oftentimes I want
to forget all of the work that I have to accomplish over the coming weekend. Family represents
security, warmth and love. This could be because I am leaving for college next year, and I do not
fully know what will happen, and I desire a sense of warmth and love from my family. My dream
follows the Activation Synthesis Hypothesis for two main reasons. It follows the parameter that the
dream goes along with something going on in my life. The second reason is that my brain was

this time of the kids life is the most influential. If I as a teacher can teach these kids the rights

African Diaspora Research Paper
The term African diaspora describes the time period between 1511 and 1888 when a great
migration of Africans inhabited America. Joseph Harris described the concept of the African
diaspora as, Global disposition (voluntary or in voluntary) of Africans throughout history; the
emergence of a cultural identity abroad based on origin and social Africa. This viewed, the African
diasporaassumes the character of a dynamic continuous and complex phenomenon starching cross
time geography, class and gender .
Starting in the 1500 s Africans began to be imported from various countries along the slave coast
or West Africa as slaves. Often Africans were split up from people of their ethnic group in order to
decrease the chance of rebellion and dangerous communication . However many Africans from
countries with similar languages formed a way of communication, the most popular languages were
Igbo, Yaruba, and Hausa. Eventually the mixture of different African languages, along with

Corn Documentary Analysis
Corn has conquered the world. Farmers are being paid by the government to overproduce corn.
If we were to look at the evolution corn has had over the years we would be truly shocked. Before
and even now till this day in some parts of Mexico we can take a glance at how corn was
produced at such small levels compared to today. Everything is being produced at mass levels. I
was stunned to see that corn is the main ingredient in many foodand even in not food items. Some
of the products that I had no idea that contained corn are ketchup, cheese, jelly, Kool Aid, batteries,
charcoal, diapers, Motrin, meat and obviously fast food, but I could talk for everyone and say we

It takes time and a process to make something good. But I truly hope to live the day that changes. I
know we are changing, slowly, but changing. The Smithfield Hog processing plant is the largest

that worked in these slaughter houses, but little by little we are starting to see mostly illegal
immigrants, people that have no rights and are scared to speak out about what really happens
inside these slaughter houses. As of now meatpacking is one of the most dangerous jobs out
there. People are working in mass production; they are used as human machines. At times, some
have had accidents and cut them self s but since they are working at such fast pace they don t
realize they are leaving some of their blood behind in the meat they are working on. Some have
even lost their lives. According to the film IBP brought immigrants to the US illegally to work on
the slaughter houses. Some workers have dedicated their lives working for these companies
because it s all they know and now workers are being arrested and treated like criminals. They are
being sent back to their country. When this happens, immigration only arrests few workers that way

Comparing Matthew And Mark s Gospel
Matthew s Gospel was written for a Jewish Christian community. This is evident because Matthew
never explains Jewish tradition. Matthew s Gospel was written in about 85 90 AD. Matthew was
writing to a community in Northern Palestine or Southern Israel. The community that Matthew was
writing the gospel for was in crisis. After the destruction of the temple, the community was trying
to figure out how to be a follower of Jesuswithout the temple or the land. In the gospel, Matthew
writes about a variety of themes. He writes about the conflict and promises made to Israel.
Similarly to Mark s Gospel, Matthew writes about outreach to gentiles and discipleship. Matthew
also includes themes relating to the old testament, church organization, and final judgment. In
Matthew s Gospel, the role of faith is prominent. In the healing stories, the focus is on the
conversation between Jesus and the person he is healing and the secondary people and actions are
left out. In this passage of Matthew s Gospel, I hope to learn the deeper meaning of the text. I hope

the disciples say to dismiss the crowd to the villages around so that they can buy food and then
Jesus replies that the disciples should give the crowd food themselves. Matthew leaves out the

for all these people. Then in all three passages, Jesus looks up to heaven, says the blessing, and
then the disciples distribute the food. Then at the end of the passage, Mark says that five thousand

How Mormon Fundamentalism And Provide A Brief History Of...
This essay will discuss Mormon fundamentalism and provide a brief history of the tenets and
practices of the religion. The term Mormon fundamentalist refers to a religious group, sect, or
individual who believes the teachings of the Mormon scriptures, and follows the teachings of early
Mormon leaders. In Western New York in 1830, Joseph Smith Jr. organized the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter day Saints, or LDS Church. Other early leaders of the church include Brigham
Young and John Taylor, who along with Joseph Smith Jr., are accepted by Mormon fundamentalists
as prophets of God. There are an estimated 38,000 Mormon fundamentalists living in North
American territories, though the estimate is only based on the number of people who openly
distinguish themselves as such. The majority of reported Mormon fundamentalists are located in
the western states of Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Idaho.
One of the most significant principles of this religion is plural marriage, which Mormon
fundamentalists refer to as the Divine Principle. The founder of Mormonism, Joseph Smith Jr.,
claims to have received direction from God to live a polygamist lifestyle. According to Smith, a
man had to have a minimum of three wives to be able to reach the highest level of heaven.
Members of the LDS Church practiced polygamy in relatively small numbers of approximately 30
percent between 1852 and 1890. The practice of plural marriage has been a controversial topic
within the Western society of the

Persuasive Essay On Stray Animals
Most people have, at some point in their lives, encountered a stray animal of some kind. It is
common to see stray animals such as dogs or cats roaming around cities and neighborhoods,
sometimes becoming a burden to the residents of those areas. Oftentimes, people will take pity on
these animals and adopt them as their own. However, as the feral animal population grows, it is
becoming increasingly difficult to accommodate all of the homeless pets. There are around 70
million stray animals in the United States (Pepelko, 2014). This is a sizeable amount of animals and
it continues to grow each day. There are many proposed solutions to this issue such as euthanasia,
an increase in the amount of shelters, or stricter regulations on adopting animals, but there is one
solution that stands out: sterilization, otherwise known as spaying (for females) and neutering(for
males). Sterilization is the best solution to the growing stray animal population because it
eliminates the possibility of unwanted litters, stabilizes feral colonies, and decreases shelter
populations. There are about 94 million cats and 90 million dogs kept as pets in the United States
( Facts Statistics , n.d.). Of all of these animals, 1 in 3 will get lost in their lifetime ( Alleviating
Concerns , n.d.). If an unspayed female cator dogbecomes lost outside, they are likely to become
pregnant. Whether or not the animal returns home, the result is an unwanted pregnancy. When

Dbq Articles Of Confederation During The Years 1781 To 1789
During the years 1781 to 1789, the Articles of Confederation was the bases of the current
government. This confederation was set up to create a weak government, leaving main power in
the state legislatures. The people of the new United States did not foresee having a strong central
government in fear of a monarchy such as that of Great Britain s. To a significant extent, the
government under these articles were ineffective due to the lack of power in Congress and control
of foreign relations.
A contribution to the downfall of the Articles of Confederationis the insufficiency of it. In 1782,
the Confederation Congress proposed a uniform tariff, which was rejected by the Rhode Island

During this time, the Navigation Laws were still in effect, allowing them to restrain the trading

Comparing The Afterlife In Judaism, Christianity, And Islam
The existence and the nature of the afterlife is not the only thing that remains constant across all
these religions. Reaching salvation in Islam, Christianity, and Judaism is achieved the same way
between all of these religions. Salvation provides us with the understanding of the relationship
between Godand the Faithful. In Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, there are particular priorities
that must be recognized in order to fully understand this relationship and its correlation with the
truth and good behavior (Khalil, Mohammad Hassan. 1 6 (ix ixxx)) Ultimately in all of these
religions, people who have lived good and righteous lives and believes in god and the prophets will
go to Heaven and achieve salvation, and the people who live sinful... Show more content on

In the Quran it says surely, those who disbelieve and did wrong, God will not forgive them, nor
will He guide them to any way except the way of Jahannam, to dwell therein forever. (Quran, 4:168

Christian tradition believe that one must believe in God, have faith in Jesus Christ and live good
holy lives to be granted the entrance to Heaven. In the bible it states that by grace through faith in
Jesus Christ . (Ephesians 2:8 9) Much like the followers of the Islamic tradition, Christians also
believe that those who are unrighteous and reject God and Jesus Christ will be placed in Hell after
death. In the Bible it states that Hell is a place of everlasting punishment for the unrighteous. There
is no crossover between Heaven and Hell. (Matthew 25:46). In the Jewish tradition, those who

Growing Population In Uk Essay
Briefing Note for The Minister: Report on the issues caused by the growing population of Deer
within the UK
The occupants of Great Britain are well accustomed to the species of deer often sighted around its
country sides and nature reserves. However, increasing numbers are causing great strains on parks
and causing an alarming rate of injuries to people and even fatalities due to road accidents
involving deer. In the coming years the number of accidents is expected to exceed the over
30,000 recorded in 2006 in Great Britain (Pokorny, 2006). The Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) and
Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) populations are increasing in number, as well as increasing their
distribution throughout the UK (PostReport, 2009). In addition to these two native species, there
are a further four species of deer that had been introduced to private parks in the UK in the past.
The Sika, Muntjac and Chinese water deer have made the UK their home for the past 150 years,
as well as the Fallow Deer which has been around much longer. The growing populations of deer
are affecting the biodiversity, ecology (Fuller Gill, 2001) and economy within the surrounding
areas. Human health and safety, as well as the animals own welfare is also at risk. I encourage The
Minister to heed this information regarding the current issues this country has ... Show more content

incidents are actually likely to be less in than the actual number of deer vehicle collisions
(Langbein, 2007), as many incidents go unreported. These types of incidents are on the increase in

Research Paper On Io
Volcanology of Io Volcanos have played a colossal part in human history; mainly by destroying
cities and killing the people in them. While Earth is volcanically active there are other locations
that surpass it in activity. To find one of these places one must go through the Kuiper belt to the gas
giant Jupiter. Jupiter, while the biggest planet in our solar system comes second to Saturn for the
most amount of moons. There are sixty three total moons and fifty three of them have been
officially named. Whether it be size or composition, they all vary greatly from one another. The
four biggest, known as the Galilean moons, were named after the astronomer Galileo who
discovered them over 400 years ago. Their names are Io, Europa, Ganymede,... Show more content

The different types of eruptions that come from the volcanoes that stretch across Io play a
significant role in its volcanology. There are three popular types of eruptions that occur on Io.
These are: flow dominated, explosion dominated, and Intra patera eruptions. Flow dominated
eruptions produce extensive compound lava flow fields... similar to compound inflationary
flows commonly observed on Hawaiian eruptions on Earth (Lopes 2015). These flows make up
a major terrain type on Io. Many of the major flows are produced by build ups of small breakouts
of lava on top of older flows. They differ from the other popular eruptions because they can last
for years, have a low output of energy, and can have flow fields larger than 300 kilometers. The
opposite of this style of eruption is explosion dominated eruptions. Where most of the energy of
the eruption is directed into a short lived, vigorous event that lasts days to weeks... can produce
extensive pyroclastic deposits and lava flow fields, and typically a large ( 200 km high) plume,
thought to originate from the interaction of silicate magma with sulfurous volatiles (Lopes
2015). These eruptions occur when magma deep within Io s molten mantle reaches the surface
and cause alterations in the near infrared brightness. They also have the potential to cause
colossal short lived changes around them. For example, in 1997 an eruption produced a 400
kilometer wide deposit of silicate and sulfur dioxide. The powerful eruption in recorded history
was explosion dominated and observed by astronomers on February 22, 2001. The most common
of the three eruption types, Intra patera eruptions, occur with or without associated plumes, and
are thought to be lava lakes (Lopes 2015). Generally they have flat floors and steep walls. Unlike
features that are similar on Earth they are usually not located at the peak of a shield volcano. Their

Autistic Children Essay
Throughout my research, I have discovered that all autistic children have specific individualized
characteristics and that both programs are equally stressful because both require IEP for their
students even though special education has it for all and not just a fraction of their children. A
successful special educationprogram requires research supported practices that include
individualized assessment of a child s skills and strengthens, interests, and needs. It includes intense
treatment, low adult child ratios, and highly structured and individualized intervention programs
and its goal would be to improve and increase the child s social and language skills as well as to

But based on the research conducted this is only proven under certain conditions. The main
condition is that integration should be based on the individual needs of the student. This means that
child movement relies solely on social and academic readiness. Socal readiness is characterized by
impairments in social interactions, communication, and behavior. Some social issues include the
dislike for being touched, the inability to look others in the eye, being more interested in objects
than people, and not being able to make friends or play with others. When it comes to
communication these individuals have the inability to socialize properly, and difficulty with verbal
and nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication is defined as the understanding of body
language, gestures, and facial expressions. Repetitive behavior, commonly identified in individuals
with OCD, can also be found in the autistic children. This causes these individuals to have impulses

Google Employee Incentives
Introduction
There are very few companies in the world that are successful in two realms: its personnel realm
and the business realm. It has become common knowledge that Google s employees love working
at Google. They don t simply like it, they love it. Many of Google s employees are computer
programmers and coders, and it takes more than money to both motivate them and keep them

offers employees everything they may need or want and more leaving them with little reason to go

The reality is, Google offers even more to its employees. In November 1999, Google hired its
first full time chef, Charlie Ayers, who was previously the chef for the Grateful Dead. Ayers won a

now has over 30,000 employees around the globe.
According to Jordan Newman, a Google spokesman, Google s goal is to create the happiest,
most productive workplace in the world. In order to do so, it has created a workplace where
there are massages, on site dry cleaning, yoga classes, gourmet cafes, daycare, transportation

This doesn t include the Lego play rooms, TGIF drinking days, secret rooms behind bookcases, and

Today, society has entered into some truly interesting yet important times. None more so that with
regards to the origin of the food provisions people consume. Bringing a debate to the forefront of
mainstream attention, in regards to the mass consumption of meat, and the ethical dilemmas faced
with the current model of harvesting of meat, in particular the harvesting of beef cattle.
Concurrently major scholars and research institutions, are developing studies and examining the
current state of health to humans whereby they are comparing those who regularly consume meat,

Research on Martin Luther King Jr And The Letter from the Birmingham Jail
To me, Martin Luther King, Jr. is not an unfamiliar name. His famous speech I have a dream is
partly selected as our English text in China. Although I know he is well known for the strong and
affective words, Letter from Birmingham Jail still gave me a very deep impression. It is perfectly
organized in a logical and thoughtful arrangement. On the other hand, the words are strong and full
of real, impressive emotion.
To fully understand this letter, having a basic background of Martin Luther King and the social
environment at that time is necessary. King was born into a rich middle class family of Atlanta in
the year 1929. His father and grandfather were both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of the letter, (from paragraph 1 to paragraph 3) King successfully reverts his
passive position as prisoner to a busy leader minister, who had little time to respond to criticism.
In the first paragraph, he kept his polite tone, and made the statement in such a way that he was
not forced to answer but willing to reply because he respected those clergymen s good will and
sincere. Then, in the following paragraphs, he answers the question: Why is Martin Luther King
is here in Birmingham? In this section, the words more basically , moreover show a logical
organization. He mentions his president position in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference,
to indicate his responsibility of the situation of Birmingham. Here, he emphasizes the invitation
and organization ties to imply that he should be respected as a guest. In the coming paragraph, he
compared himself as a minister with those Christian saints in the history to gain trust and more
respect. Then he focuses on the duty of a human being and an American citizen, who should
show more concern to those injustices no matter where they are. Here, he refutes the clergymen s
statement about outsiders coming in by saying: Never again can we afford to live with the
narrow, provincial outside agitator idea (King 404). By the end of the first section of the letter,
King has perfectly got the trust and respect he deserved as a man, a minister, a civil rights leader,
even a prisoner. We can see

The Civil War As A Propagandist War
Hurst wrote about Civil War battles he was in and mentions the propaganda he witnessed over a
four year span. He remarked how outlandish the Southern newspapers were. It is unusual for a
general, who is amongst the chaos of the war, to notice something seemingly trivial. We are
daily in receipt of newspapers of Augusta and Savannah, and of the rural districts, which our
foragers bring in; and we laugh ourselves to tears sometimes at their last ditch literature. Half
scared to death, and yet boastful and defiant, they exhibit a rich combination of the coward and
the braggart (Hurst, 2012, p. 159). While being in the middle of the war, Hurst had a unique
viewpoint that most other journalists missed, ignored, or failed to write about. It is unusual to
look at the Civil War as a propagandist war, yet multiple current sources allude to that. Hurst s
realization was quite telling; now historians whom examined the press after the war are able to
see the blatant transparency. To modern readers, the acerbic tone of the era s reporting seems
more akin to partisan propaganda than objective journalism (Davis Robertson, 2009, p. 35). This
further reiterates what Hurst picked up on and shows how both the North and South journalists
wrote in a propagandist tone. When the Civil War had just begun, there was already a general
dislike of the war in the North, which set the tone for said pieces of the Union. Early in the
conflict, negative press plagued Union generals, and Grant was

Well written paper on beta blockers in controlling hypertension. In my experience, I had seen
more than 80% of patients are prescribed with antihypertensive drugs in their medical chart. A
beta blocker is one of the most common drugs in a geriatric setting especially atenolol. Beta
blockers are the standard of therapy for many cardiovascular conditions and it is the main line of
treatment in decreasing risk of stroke. According to Ladage, Schwinger, and Brixius (2013) beta
blocker was more effective in decreasing mortality and morbidity rate in acute coronary syndrome
patients. Atenolol is a water soluble and had longer half lives with non metabolized actions and
excreted via the kidneys (Ladage et al., 2013). The exercise capacity increases in patients who are
on beta blockers, like bisoprolol, nebivolol, carvedilol (Ladage et al., 2013). A recent meta analysis
study showed patients who are untreated with hypertension, they are at risk of developing chronic
kidney diseases, cardiovascular complications, and cerebrovascular complications (Butt Harvey,
2015). In one study, mainly geriatric population who are taking atenolol had shown greater

The Cloning Of The Sheep

Human Cloning
Cloning of Dolly the Sheep was a first on many fronts. First, it represented the first mammal ever
to be cloned from a somatic cell. It also sets a benchmark on which to evaluate other animal cloning
experiments going forward. Secondly, her cloning was the start of controversy and panic in
regards to animal cloning, as it raised the question of whether scientists would seek to clone
humans too, and the ethics behind such a practice, should it ever be adopted. Over the past few
years, animal cloning has yielded remarkable results, and this has given scientists hope of a possible
human clone over the next few years (University of Utah Health Sciences n.p.). When such reports
of cloning success appear in the media, only few attempts works. However, for every success story,
there are many other cloning experiments that have dismally failed. Out of 100 cloning
experiments, less than three, at the maximum, yield viable offsprings (Harper n.p.). Even for these
few success stories about cloning, problems often emerge later, as the animal develops towards
adulthood. Although there is limited scientific explanations for the cause of such high failure rates,
most researchers believe that it is an indication of the technical hurdles facing cloning experiments.
The important lesson that can be drawn from the cloning of animals is the likely influences in case
humans are cloned. While a growing

The Importance Of Language In English Language
I am interested in the overarching influence of language in human culture. My Individually
Designed Major in linguistics reflects this interest and prepares me for the application of linguistics
in the field.
Linguistics is the scientific study of human language. According to the Linguistics Society of
America, such a study includes the structure of languages and the variance in language systems
among other topics (Macaulay and Syrett). My core courses emphasize the history of language, its
development, its perception, and my skills in foreign languages.
For example, by studying the history and development of a certain language in The English
Language (ENGL 346), the course prepares me for discussion and investigation of my first
language. Since English is such a popular second language, a thorough understanding of my first
language is essential to success in linguistics and in my future career path. The development of
language is the classroom was a common topic in Bilingual Education (EDUC 345), and the course
discussed the application of linguistic theories in the field of education.
For the development of my foreign language skills, I focus on two languages during my years at
Denison, so I have a diverse but comprehensive knowledge of language. German and Arabic are
the primary choices for my in depth study of language, and these two languages incorporate a
knowledge of distinct language families, i.e. Germanic and Seminitic. To support my knowledge in

Efficient Market Hypothesis And The Effect Of High...
Efficient Market Hypothesis and the Effect of High Frequency Trading The efficient market
hypothesis (EMH) has consistently remained in the forefront of finance theory for decades. As
technology has advanced, the ability to assess the efficient market hypothesis has increased
exponentially and so have the opportunities to exploit it. Tactics such as high frequency trading
and insider trading threaten the dependability of the efficient market hypothesis. EMH is a
rudimentary theory that implies the value of an asset is directly correlated or about equal to the
intrinsic value of the asset. (Brigham Houston, 2012) The intrinsic value of a stock is the actual
value of a company or an asset based on an underlying perception of its true value including all
aspects of the business, in terms of both tangible and intangible factors (investopedia.com).
Investors use this logic to determine whether to buy or sell a stock depending on its perceived value
with respect to the intrinsic value. Whether the investor employs an active or passive investment
strategy, the EMH is a rational decision making process to ensure a confident investment. The
efficient market hypothesis is constantly being analyzed for its validity in the current market. There
are a multitude of external factors contributing to the reluctance of relying on the EMH.
Specifically, the rise of high frequency trading has significantly called into question the legitimacy
of the efficient market. High

Literary Analysis Of Maya Angelou s Phenomenal Woman
The poem Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou, was voiced by Maya Angelou herself, and the
audience hearing that she was trying to reach was the pretty women in the world who have a
definition of flawless that Maya does not agree with. She wanted her audience to know that
while they may be beautiful, that she is beautiful and flawless by her own terms and that being
flawless does not only mean being small and looking like the models in the magazines. One
could argue that her audience is all the women in the world who are not small. She is also
reaching out to women who have some of the same characteristics that she has because they are
relatable. Men are also her audience as she goes on to explain why men find her attractive, this is
also a device used to show the audience that many different cases of women can be viewed as
attractive. A womanwho loves herself is a woman who will attract a man of good substance. Maya
Angelouwas born on April 4, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, and died at the age of 86 on May 28, 2014,
in Winston Salem, NC. During her time here on this earth, she served as a famous American poet,

the British interfered very little in colonial affairs, and this lasted from the end of the 1600s up
until the British victory over the French in the 7 Years War. The end of salutary neglect marked the
beginning of Britain s increasing control over the American colonies and attempt in raising taxes to

Many things stayed the same, which is why the American Revolution was as big of a turning point
in American history, as most people make it to be. The most important aspects of American life that

Normative Gender Roles
Formally began by AndrГ© Breton and influenced by Freud s vision of repressed, sexual desire,
and hallucinating conscious, gender and sexuality served as a basis of analysis and questioning for
the Surrealist artists. They believed that the women were the way to reach into subconscious of the
male mind and so femininity became the central focus of Surrealism. With the focus on femininity,
the sexuality and genderroles were explored and challenged by several female Surrealist artists such
as Claude Cahun in a way that they rejected some of the conventional perception of femininity. At
the same time, some other Surrealist artists such as Man Ray and Hans Bellmer reaffirmed the

This is evident in one of Man Ray s photographs, Г‰rotique voilГ©e (1933). In this work, Man
Ray exhibited a nude female covered with ink, pressing against a printers wheel in a very erotic
manner. She was positioned in a very center of the photograph and was displayed with the wheel
in which it gave a sense of sexual objectification of female in a way that she was treated as a part
of the machinery, not as a separate individual. Similarly, his other work, Le Violon d Ingres (1924),
features a nude woman with f holes added in her back in which it gives the impression of her
being the body of a violin, something to be played that she is nothing more than a muse or
sexual object that can be manipulated by male dominant. As for Hans Bellmer, he constructed
life sized dolls that were violently and sexually degraded images of young girls. The doll (1936)
is a photograph of Bellmer s sexualized, distorted and dismantled sculpture of female body. The
sexuality of female was used by Bellmer to represent the unconscious sexual fantasies of male
through toy like associations where it let the female body to be easily controlled by the male
owner. In both Man Ray and Hans Bellmer work, the female body was interpreted as a sexualized
object of erotic pleasure designed for male in which they reinforced the gender stereotypes of
women by depicting them as inferior to

Why Is Canada An Oppressive Colonist Many First Nations groups felt the numbered treaties signed by the Dominion Government and their First Nations Chiefs between 1877 1921 were rushed and disorganized. The lack of organization limited the Aboriginals and resulted in unfulfilled promises. Because the government was more concerned with changing the carious First Nations groups rather than collaborating / negotiating with them, Canada was seen as an oppressive colonizer. Upon signing the treaties, Canada obtained control of most aspects of society; especially in regards to schooling, resource extraction, land use, and implementation of laws for various social issues. Standardized Tests In Schools School is supposed to be a place where children learn and are prepared to conquer themselves and the real world, but are there real potential being overseen and shunned? A person described as being of low ability now, in the present, is assumed to have more limited learning potential than those who may be judged to be more able , says Claire Taylor. Does this mean that students who could be exemplary at things such as therapy, math, reading, or S.T.E.M., could potentially be overlooked, simply because they don t have the right environment to stretch their legs and prove their potential? I feel like I have the ability to do a lot of things, but the way the school system is set up, I also feel like I m unable to present my real abilities, Says Skylar Gold of Omaha Middle School. It probably doesn t help that students who are lucky enough to be in programs such as Algebra, or IMPACT make the other students feel insecure. Just because they can recite the Gettysburg Address, doesn t mean they re smart enough to be able to realize that being narcissistic towards those students only limits their potential more. ... • 5. How Does Blake Use Figurative Language In The Lamb The Lamb , a poem from a series written by William Blake, begins with and revolves around a young lamb who has not yet experienced the world and its mishaps. Center of the poem, the lamb is continuously being examined. Through the use of rhetorical questions, allusions, symbols, and other figurative language, Blake clearly illustrates the theme that innocence provides a means for taking joy in natural creation. While the lambreferred to in this poem of Blake s is portrayed to be tender and very childlike, I would not say that the poem was made solely for the eyes of the youth. One way this poem has been perceived that opposes my opinion is that Blake wrote it for children to see or hear (Bussey 2001). This must have been gathered from the way Blake uses simplistic verses involving allusions to the lamb of the bible or, JesusChrist as children are often taught. However, what this view fails to acknowledge despite the poem s effortlessness is the level of vocabulary such as words like mead , vales , and meek . These words may at first not appear very difficult, but when seen from the eyes of perhaps an eight year old, they may not completely grasp the full picture.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When really thought through, the lamb does not know who made thee. In the world inhabited by the child in The Lamb, questions are just a playful pretense. The purpose of these questions is to get the knowledge of the nature of life circulating, so it can make all the vales rejoice. (Aubrey 2011). What Aubrey is getting at here, which I completely agree with, is that Blake uses these rhetorical questions to get imagination going, allowing the reader to become intellectually and emotionally involved in his ... Sleeping is something that we seek out. Getting the recommended amount of sleep allows our body to function properly the next day. Without it, there could be detrimental consequences. The National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke says that without sleep, neurons could be polluted with byproducts . In severe cases, people who get very little sleep often experience mood swings, hallucinations and cells do not continue to reproduce. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was not able to sleep as much during the school week. Monday night through Friday morning, I averaged five hours of sleep. Because I was unable to go through the four stages of sleep and REM sleep, I did not function to my fullest potential. During school, I found it difficult to focus. My lack of sleep did not allow me to remember very many of my dreams during the school week. From Friday night to Sunday night, I was able to sleep much more because I did not have a crushing amount of homework. Although I did sleep the recommended eight hours those days, I only remember a little snippet of a dream. From Friday night to Saturday morning, I remember my family and I on a beach together in Hawaii. Dreaming about Hawaii represents trying to escape your daily problems. These flows make up a major terrain type on Io. Many of the major flows are produced by build ups of small breakouts of lava on top of older flows. Concurrently major scholars and research institutions, are developing studies and examining the current state of health to humans whereby they are comparing those who regularly consume meat, to those who abstain from animal products to varying degrees. While studies are in the infancy stages, enough progress has been shown to offer some basis of debate. Research on Martin Luther King Jr And The Letter from the Birmingham Jail To me, Martin Luther King, Jr. is not an unfamiliar name. His famous speech I have a dream is partly selected as our English text in China. Although I know he is well known for the strong and affective words, Letter from Birmingham Jail still gave me a very deep impression. It is perfectly organized in a logical and thoughtful arrangement. On the other hand, the words are strong and full of real, impressive emotion. To fully understand this letter, having a basic background of Martin Luther King and the social environment at that time is necessary. King was born into a rich middle class family of Atlanta in the year 1929. His father and grandfather were both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of the letter, (from paragraph 1 to paragraph 3) King successfully reverts his passive position as prisoner to a busy leader minister, who had little time to respond to criticism. In the first paragraph, he kept his polite tone, and made the statement in such a way that he was not forced to answer but willing to reply because he respected those clergymen s good will and sincere. Then, in the following paragraphs, he answers the question: Why is Martin Luther King is here in Birmingham? In this section, the words more basically , moreover show a logical organization. He mentions his president position in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, to indicate his responsibility of the situation of Birmingham. Here, he emphasizes the invitation and organization ties to imply that he should be respected as a guest. In the coming paragraph, he compared himself as a minister with those Christian saints in the history to gain trust and more respect. Then he focuses on the duty of a human being and an American citizen, who should show more concern to those injustices no matter where they are. Here, he refutes the clergymen s statement about outsiders coming in by saying: Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial outside agitator idea (King 404). By the end of the first section of the letter, King has perfectly got the trust and respect he deserved as a man, a minister, a civil rights leader, even a prisoner. We can see ... • 29. The Civil War As A Propagandist War Hurst wrote about Civil War battles he was in and mentions the propaganda he witnessed over a four year span. He remarked how outlandish the Southern newspapers were. It is unusual for a general, who is amongst the chaos of the war, to notice something seemingly trivial. We are daily in receipt of newspapers of Augusta and Savannah, and of the rural districts, which our foragers bring in; and we laugh ourselves to tears sometimes at their last ditch literature. Half scared to death, and yet boastful and defiant, they exhibit a rich combination of the coward and the braggart (Hurst, 2012, p. 159). While being in the middle of the war, Hurst had a unique viewpoint that most other journalists missed, ignored, or failed to write about. It is unusual to look at the Civil War as a propagandist war, yet multiple current sources allude to that. Hurst s realization was quite telling; now historians whom examined the press after the war are able to see the blatant transparency. To modern readers, the acerbic tone of the era s reporting seems more akin to partisan propaganda than objective journalism (Davis Robertson, 2009, p. 35). This further reiterates what Hurst picked up on and shows how both the North and South journalists wrote in a propagandist tone. When the Civil War had just begun, there was already a general dislike of the war in the North, which set the tone for said pieces of the Union. Early in the conflict, negative press plagued Union generals, and Grant was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In my experience, I had seen more than 80% of patients are prescribed with antihypertensive drugs in their medical chart. A beta blocker is one of the most common drugs in a geriatric setting especially atenolol. Beta blockers are the standard of therapy for many cardiovascular conditions and it is the main line of treatment in decreasing risk of stroke. According to Ladage, Schwinger, and Brixius (2013) beta blocker was more effective in decreasing mortality and morbidity rate in acute coronary syndrome patients. Atenolol is a water soluble and had longer half lives with non metabolized actions and excreted via the kidneys (Ladage et al., 2013). The exercise capacity increases in patients who are on beta blockers, like bisoprolol, nebivolol, carvedilol (Ladage et al., 2013). A recent meta analysis study showed patients who are untreated with hypertension, they are at risk of developing chronic kidney diseases, cardiovascular complications, and cerebrovascular complications (Butt Harvey, 2015). • 32. The Cloning Of The Sheep Name: Lanster Yang Teacher: Mrs. DeGregorio Course: English III Date: 8 May 2015 Human Cloning Cloning of Dolly the Sheep was a first on many fronts. First, it represented the first mammal ever to be cloned from a somatic cell. It also sets a benchmark on which to evaluate other animal cloning experiments going forward. Secondly, her cloning was the start of controversy and panic in regards to animal cloning, as it raised the question of whether scientists would seek to clone humans too, and the ethics behind such a practice, should it ever be adopted. Over the past few years, animal cloning has yielded remarkable results, and this has given scientists hope of a possible human clone over the next few years (University of Utah Health Sciences n.p.). When such reports of cloning success appear in the media, only few attempts works. However, for every success story, there are many other cloning experiments that have dismally failed. Out of 100 cloning experiments, less than three, at the maximum, yield viable offsprings (Harper n.p.). Even for these few success stories about cloning, problems often emerge later, as the animal develops towards adulthood. Although there is limited scientific explanations for the cause of such high failure rates, most researchers believe that it is an indication of the technical hurdles facing cloning experiments. The important lesson that can be drawn from the cloning of animals is the likely influences in case humans are cloned. While a growing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wilbur s Airplane Flaw Wilbur and Orville Wright faced many problems and challenges when striving to complete development of the first ever motorized Aircraft, a lot of times, the problem was the weather. The weather conditions in KillDevil Hills often included mainly rain. Also, the wind was sometimes much too light to actually give the 625Lb. aircraft any lift. The problems that the Wright brothers faced were not only the weather conditions but the airplane itself. When they first tested the motor, it vibrated too much and it broke the propeller shafts. The propeller shaft was very important because it was responsible for making the propeller spin. They had it repaired by Charlie Taylor in Ohio. Similarities Between Rosa Parks And Martin Luther King I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. Martin Luther King Jr spoke these words at the Civil Rights March on August 28, 1963. The words above may seem worthless, but to the people in attendance at the protest, they meant the world. It gave them hope, perseverance, a shimmer of light in the dark times. Racism is still with us. But it is up to us to prepare our children for what they have to meet, and, hopefully, we shall overcome. This is one of Rosa Parks more famous quotes. • 35. The Importance Of Language In English Language I am interested in the overarching influence of language in human culture. My Individually Designed Major in linguistics reflects this interest and prepares me for the application of linguistics in the field. Linguistics is the scientific study of human language. According to the Linguistics Society of America, such a study includes the structure of languages and the variance in language systems among other topics (Macaulay and Syrett). My core courses emphasize the history of language, its development, its perception, and my skills in foreign languages. For example, by studying the history and development of a certain language in The English Language (ENGL 346), the course prepares me for discussion and investigation of my first language. Since English is such a popular second language, a thorough understanding of my first language is essential to success in linguistics and in my future career path. The development of language is the classroom was a common topic in Bilingual Education (EDUC 345), and the course discussed the application of linguistic theories in the field of education. For the development of my foreign language skills, I focus on two languages during my years at Denison, so I have a diverse but comprehensive knowledge of language. • 36. Efficient Market Hypothesis And The Effect Of High... Efficient Market Hypothesis and the Effect of High Frequency Trading The efficient market hypothesis (EMH) has consistently remained in the forefront of finance theory for decades. As technology has advanced, the ability to assess the efficient market hypothesis has increased exponentially and so have the opportunities to exploit it. Tactics such as high frequency trading and insider trading threaten the dependability of the efficient market hypothesis. EMH is a rudimentary theory that implies the value of an asset is directly correlated or about equal to the intrinsic value of the asset. (Brigham Houston, 2012) The intrinsic value of a stock is the actual value of a company or an asset based on an underlying perception of its true value including all aspects of the business, in terms of both tangible and intangible factors (investopedia.com). Investors use this logic to determine whether to buy or sell a stock depending on its perceived value with respect to the intrinsic value. Whether the investor employs an active or passive investment strategy, the EMH is a rational decision making process to ensure a confident investment. The efficient market hypothesis is constantly being analyzed for its validity in the current market. There are a multitude of external factors contributing to the reluctance of relying on the EMH. Specifically, the rise of high frequency trading has significantly called into question the legitimacy of the efficient market. High ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The end of salutary neglect marked the beginning of Britain s increasing control over the American colonies and attempt in raising taxes to help pay for the war. The sexuality of female was used by Bellmer to represent the unconscious sexual fantasies of male through toy like associations where it let the female body to be easily controlled by the male owner.
