The Inevitable Spread of Soviet-backed Communism in...
The Inevitable Spread of Soviet backed Communism in Eastern Europe
At the end of World War II, the Soviet Union, Great Britain and the United States were principle
players involved with reshaping post war Europe. The region most affected policy changes was
Eastern Europe, which includes those states that would eventually fall behind the Iron Curtain.
While the camaraderie between the Big Three deteriorated, Soviet backed communism was
spreading across Eastern Europe. The argument during this time was that expansionism was
inevitable since Stalin had already decided to establish Soviet power and Soviet typed systems in
the lands his army occupied; resistance was pointless. While nothing in history is inevitable, to a
great extent, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Democracy never properly developed in Eastern Europe. The leaders and the elites of the newly
independent Eastern states believed that Western styled constitutional governments would produce
Western styled democracies that would be stable and prosperous, as well as effectively guarantee
their power against challengers. Democracy strangely benefited the old elites and extremists were
elected into government. The democratic roots planted in Western Europe were unable to take hold,
leaving Eastern Europe vulnerable to communism.
There were also political and economic structural weaknesses in Eastern Europe after 1945. The
communists had a high probability of successfully filling the void in the political structure. The
forces to resist them were no longer there, either because they were destroyed by World War II or
undermined by the outcome of post war settlements. Those involved in the fledgling democratic
forces in Eastern Europe were systematically killed, deported or forced into exile, first by the
Germans, then by the communists, illustrating the weak democratic foundations of the region.
According to Schopflin, In essence, Central and Eastern Europe was the scene of a power
vacuum and the communists proved to be the force best able to fill it (60). In Czechoslovakia, for
example, the old elite lost prestige and self confidence after the war, and the upper and middle
classes were repressed. In Yugoslavia, the war left a tradition of

How Helicopter Parents Cause Binge Drinking Summary
PHL103 Paper 1: Argument AnalysisThe conclusion of the article How Helicopter Parents cause
Binge Drinking by Caitlin Flanagan is that Helicopter Parents, get real parents, cause college kids
to binge drinking. Caitlin has many premises, but not all are fool proof premises and contain
fallacies. However, the structure of her argumentis relatively sound. If all of her premises were
proven true then the conclusion that all helicopter parents cause their kids to Binge Drink would
be true for every case. The first two premises I analyzed dealt with the identity of the helicopter
parent and if there was a true identity. The first premise is that parents in the 1970s were not
helicopter parents and most children have survived. This premise would be solid if it... Show more

In addition, she is also using the appeal to ignorance fallacy because she says that most have
survived so it must have been because the parents weren t hovering over us at all time. She
doesn t account for any other possible reason for why they survived, so because there is a lack of
evidence it must be true. The second premise is that helicopter parents are usually white, college

While this is a very stereotypical statement, it is backed up with multiple examples and incidents.
For one she explains how lower class students cannot afford to binge drink and do not have the

How Does Autism Affect The Functioning Of The Brain
Autism
Autism is a developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life.
This is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain. If you don t
pay close attention to your child, you won t notice it. If you attend to your child the way that a
real parent should, then you will notice that something is not right. If you catch it early on, you
can do some intense therapy that will attend to your child the right way. Depending on how
severe the illness is your child will go two to three times a week. There is a therapist that will
accommodate you and come to your child s school if needed.

Children with this disease have social interaction problems. They are not able to participate in daily
routines. Autistic children have unusual responses and interests like using objects inappropriately;
have repetitive behaviors and unusual sensory responses.
Some common effects of autism include mishaps of cognitive disorders as well as seizures and
other slow development of the brain. The symptoms of seizure are disorders are quite varied.
They can range from brief episodes where the child seems to tune out to much more obvious
convulsions where the child falls to the ground, loses consciousness, and has alternating periods of
muscle contraction and relaxation (Volkmar and Wiesner 28). A number of other neurological
problems are observed in autism. Some children with autism have delays in the development of
hand dominance later than typically developing children (Volkmar and Wiesner 28). Not every
child has every problem.
Autism is a disease, not a disability. According to Jepson and Johnson, Autism is an environmental
illness (42). Autistic children improved when foods containing gluten and casein were removed.
Gluten is a protein found in wheat barley, rye, and oats. Casein is a protein from cow s milk. It is
recommended that parents should try an elimination diet of casein and gluten for about a month to
see if it improved symptoms. There other highly allergic foods parents should attempt to eradicate

The Lost Girls
25 of the best historical fiction books
If you re one of those people who insist that reading about history is boring, then you re not alone.
From the dry memorization of wars and rulers to the watered down way that textbooks depict
controversial events of the past, lessons on history can really become a snooze. Believe it or not,
the way history is presented is what will leave you uninterested. But when you re imagine the past
and reflect on past social conditions that still plague society today it s easier to resuscitate those
important moments from the past that seem dead. My advice? Breathe life back into the forgotten
moments of history by reading a good, historical fiction book.

God America I Symbolism
E.E. Cummings writes a compelling piece of art that encompasses everything a poem has to
offer. From the beginning to the end of next to of course god america i Cummings presents a
satirical style to the reader. To accompany his style of writing Cummings utilizes lots of
symbolism to get his point across. Through the rant of his poem Cummings diction grab s the
reader s attention and explains his point. To spark the senses of the reader he embraces imagery to
help the audience visualize his topic. In next to of course god america i the author applies these
four parts to craft a captivating and influential series of lines. Cummings uses a sarcastic styleof
writing to show the reader how he feels about his topic. He uses this to explain how blind
patriotism is senseless because fighting just to die has no meaning. By having s sarcastic style,
he is able to get across to the reader that they only have one life and not to waste it just showing
how brave one can be. In lines 6 8 Cummings says in every language even deafanddumb//thy sons

Customer arrival pattern is Poisson| If the customers arriving at Taco Bell Did not fulfill the
assumption to be characterized as Poisson arrival pattern the above calculation would have been
wrong and other more complex model would need to be used in order to determine correct

Examples Of Greed In The Pardoner s Tale
There are seven destructive sins that, once dedicated, lessen the possibility of unceasing life and
bliss in paradise. They are alluded to as dangerous in light of the fact that every transgression is
firmly connected to another, prompting other more prominent sins. The seven savage sins are
pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, and greed. Geoffrey Chaucer s gem, The Canterbury Tales, gave
a superb anecdote about the destructive sins. Concentrating essentially on the wrongdoings of pride,
and voracity, the characters found in The Canterbury Tales, especially The Pardoner s Tale, were so
overpowered by their natural cravings and aspirations that they neglected to see the impacts of their
corrupt activities, hence denying themselves of salvation.
Gluttony is characterized as the over liberality of nourishment and beverage. The pardoner said that
greedy was the wrongdoing that defiled the world. The principal type of gluttony is intoxication.

The Influence Of The Art Of Art
Art is an expression of free speech in a sense. However, some seek to influence and sensor an
individual s artistic expression. Socrates believes that banning certain works of art from his
ideal city is the best course of action for everyone. I will argue that Socrates is correct in his
assessment that controlling the flow of art is for the betterment of society. By banning certain
works of art, the souls of the young can be molded into an image that loves truth and honesty.
Socrates says So our first task, it seems, is to supervise the storytellers: if they make up a good
story, we must accept it; if not, we must reject it. (Republic II, 377B). The objection is that such
policies suppress the individuals right to autonomy, and to decide for themselves what is virtuous
and what is not. Nonetheless, Socrates believes that restricting art is the best course of action. The
influence of the bad art and the good art will take effect in the mind of the individual throughout
society. Such as the stories of the gods, Socrates believes that the gods must be represented in a
good light. Then kids will emulate good hearted behavior. If their mothers read stories about the
horrible crimes the gods committed, then the children might grow up to believe that such
immorality is normal and acceptable. If those children grow up to become adults and leaders of
society, then society would become callous and unjust. An unjust city is the antithesis of an ideal
city, which is what Socrates

Growing up, O lan experienced living on the streets and was a mistreated, abused slave in the

Research Paper: Hillary Clinton
I chose to analyze a speech Hillary Clinton made on human rights, or more specifically, women s
rights. Although I wouldn t want Hillary Clinton for a president, I definitely can agree with
everything she was advocating in this particular speech. She explains the ways in which women s
rights should be equivalent to human s rights, but are currently not, in China. The issues she was
addressing are not issues that we have often in America today; they are shocking and overlooked. If
there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women s
rights and women s rights are human rights once and for all. On September 5, 1995, 180 countries
came together in Beijing China to hear first lady Hillary Clinton s speech about women s rights.
This speech was the United Nations Fourth World Conference of Women. The target audience for
this speech is governments and other organizations that can help meet the goal of making women s
rights human rights. She addressed problems that every single country faced concerning the
liberties of women, and why it was important that they receive these freedoms. The speech was
courageous and considered path breaking too many in its demand for action. The great challenge of
this conference is to give voice to women everywhere whose experiences go unnoticed, whose
words go unheard. Hillary Clinton has become famous for the statement:

The Dreamers By Dave Isay
What really defines a dreamer? Is it the children who have unrealistic dreams of playing in the
big leagues or is it someone who has a plan and will go out of his or her way to achieve it? Both
of these options can be true. Dreamers are special in this world because they have hope for
something they believe in. Nothing is more fascinating than seeing an individual who never gave
up and worked extremely hard to reach their goal. Having read only three sections so far, I have
explored the individual s purpose and passion for the work they pursue. The Dreamers section has
made me analyze what I have and want with my future career. Overall, the elements of the book
defining dreamers explains the meaning of a risktaker, the hard work and dedication involved, and
the passion it takes to reach your goals.
Dave Isay strongly connects with his readers in the Dreamers section of Callings. Adventure and
purpose surround this section especially with the bridge tender, street astronomer, and the NBA
referee story. Defining a dreamer can be determined in many ways. As said before, adventure and
purpose are the main components of a dreamer. The information gained from this section is that
dreamers have this sense of hope and passion for the calling they pursue no matter what it is.
Individuals such as Herman Heyn lived out their dream by performing certain tasks. Herman

America s Dirty Little Secrets
America s Dirty Little Secrets My literal responsibility as director of the CIA with regard to covert
action was to inform the Congress not to seek their approval; to inform. Former CIA Director
Michael Hayden said this quote concerning who the CIA reports to. Most American s think that
since the CIA is part of the government, that it held responsible by the rest of the government.
Unfortunately, the sad truth is that they are completely wrong. The way the CIA was created
caused many atrocities to be committed by them without any ramifications.

Essay about Thermal and Tidal Ocean Energy
The Oncoming Age of Ocean Energy: Thermal and Tidal
With oil being depleted and people crying out in horror at the prices of energy society needs a
new source of energy, the ocean. The ocean provides so much energy it can power up the world s
consumption of oil by ten fold by one day s worth of storing. Currently there are two ways that are
in practice: tidal and ocean thermal. But these two practices are in their infant stages and are in
need of much funding. Isn t the initial cost of sustaining such a project worth the bearing if one is
learning that their source of energy is becoming bankrupt?

Ocean Energy 3 collect the steam to power it such as these cycles: closed cycle, open cycle, and

gaseous state turning a turbine in a generator to provide the electricity to power up homes. Open
cycle systems actually boil the seawater by operating at low pressures. This produces steam that
passes through a turbine/generator. And hybrid systems combine both closed cycle and open cycle
systems ( Ocean Energy Basics. , 2006). These plants can be placed on inshore, off shore, and also

ideology. Our big question is How was the Holocausthumanly possible? How can we explain why
ordinary people participated in the mass murder of millions of innocent men, women, and children?
Bystanders were just helping Hitler by getting amused that he makin Jews do things that would
get people s attention. They were bystanders because they watch the Jews getting humiliated in
public. Some Jews were to do awful things like to clean the streets or to do rude things towards
other Jewish people but the germans that was near by were laughing or enjoying their time. This
show that Jews are getting overpowered by the Nazi. The reason that the Nazi have power is by
people who followed him and bystanders that let them feel like they power or control. There were ...

Research Paper On Gout
2.4 ASSOCIATED HEALTH CONDITIONS OF GOUT
Gout is associated with a host of health conditions and diseases. Majority of patients have at least
one associated health condition and disease. The most common one are obesity, high blood
pressure, kidney disease and heart disease.
2.4.1 OBESITY AND GOUT
Obesity is a condition that exists when a person carries extra body fat that is severely out of
proportion to his or her height. Gout is highly common in obese people. Research shows that a
large percentage of gout patients are overweight. Weight gain plays a role in the development of
gout. An obese person is four times more likely to develop gout compared to someone with a
normal body weight.

Kidney stones form when your urine contains more crystal forming substances such as calcium,
oxalate and uric acid than the fluid in your urine can dilute. At the same time, your urine may lack
substances that prevent crystals from sticking together, creating an ideal environment for kidney
stones to form.
Uric acid crystals deposited in the kidneys can become large kidney stones. These are also known
as uric acid stones. These stones are formed in people who don t drink enough fluids or who lose
too much fluid, those who eat a high protein diet, and those who have gout.
Uric acid stones are very painful and can cause permanent kidney damage. The stones can form
obstructions which prevent your kidneys from removing wastes and causing infection. They can
also scar the kidneys with rough or sharp edges. These problems can lead to chronic kidney
disease and even kidney failure where kidney dialysis or kidneys transplant to treat complications
that could lead to more illnesses and even death.
It is important to monitor your kidney function. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day (8 cups) to
help reduce the risk for stone

Filipino Culture In The Philippines
The Filipino Culture
Carla Cravey, Lindsay Hill, Jeanette Gass
Carl Albert State College
The Filipino Culture
Filipinos are the second largest Asian group in the United States. In the past data has been hard to
obtain about Filipino Americans, primarily because of inconsistences in coding race and ethnicity
in research projects. Demographics of Filipino Americans did not start being properly recorded until
the early twentieth century, when the Filipino Islands became part of the United States territory.
Even with the limited data, they have gathered enough information on the Filipino culture. Filipino
American beliefs differ drastically from that of Americans, such as their culture, health rituals and
religious practices that may make healthcare more difficult (Dela Cruz, 2010).
Studies of the Filipino American health practices show that Filipinos who reside in a rural area are
more knowledgeable in home remedies, super natural ailments, traditional healing techniques,
where those from urban areas rely more on Western Medicine and over the counter drugs. In both
settings, indigenous folk and western medicine is used simultaneously. A popular self medication
among these groups is Chinese hot/cold application system (Pasma), and Chinese oils which
sometimes perceived as a remedy to all ailments such as headaches, dizziness, relaxing, or the
common cold. If home remedies do not work, many seek a local healer who uses treatments which
includes roots and herbs.

Richard II By Richard IIi
Richard II s subjects become increasingly aware of his corrupt ruling, yet they do nothing to
overthrow Richard II because they strongly believe in his divine right to rule. John of Gaunt,
Richard II s uncle, along with the rest of his subjects, allow Richard II to get away with murder
and other questionable acts because he is their king anointed by God. Gaunt reveals he knows
that Richard II played a part in killing John s brother to remain king: God s is the quarrel; for God
s substitute, His deputy anointed in His sight, Hath caused his death: the which if wrongfully, Let
heaven revenge: for I may never lift An angry arm against His minister (Richard II II.ii.37 41)
The Duchess of Glouster advices Gaunt to seek revenge upon Richard II, but Gaunt refuses to
take action and says that the need to leave the punishment up to God: put we our quarrel to the
will of heaven (Richard II I.ii.6). Gaunt is not fearful of what King Richard II could do to him,
but of what God might do to him because he believes Richard II to have been given his position by
the grace of God, therefore Gaunt must stand back and let God eventually handle Richard II s
punishment. At the beginning of the play, John of Gauntwas an advocate for anything that Richard
II did; however, towards the end of the play a transition has occurred and Gaunt starts to view
Richard II in a different manner. Bolingbroke has returned and laid his stake on the English crown,
causing Gaunt and some of the other

Selecting Proprietary, Open Source, or Free Software for Business Information Systems
At first glance, the question above would probably lead you to believe that proprietary software
should be the obvious choice when selecting between the different types simply because of the
reference to the words most important. You could also look at the definitions of the three and be
convinced that proprietary software seems to be more compelling than the rest. However, with the
recent developments with software in general, I would have to agree with those that argue that
open source should be the first choice for any kind of software, and that considering proprietary
software should only be an option if it has very specific and valuable features ... Show more content

If this is the case, then why would a company choose proprietary software when even its own
developers are starting to realize that they themselves may benefit more from buying into the
open source model? While researching the question posed, and trying to get a better
understanding of all the different types of software, I came across many arguments of open vs.
proprietary. Many of the arguments that I read, the writers all had good information to support
their opinion of which type of software they thought was best. One article that I found interesting
was posted on a website (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/foobar/5204), and it proposed that the
debate of Open source vs. Proprietary be turned around to Proprietary software vs. Open . The
writer of this article posed the question, Why is proprietary the default and not open source?
After carefully researching the different types of software, I found myself asking the same
question. If you look closely at all of the so called compelling advantages that people tend to think
proprietary software has over open, you would clearly see that they aren t all that compelling. One
of the arguments raised has to do with support. There is this belief that proprietary software offers
better support......is this only because many consumers feel that if they pay top dollar for a product

How Permanent Are Permanet Markers
For my science fair project, I figured out what solvent would work best to erase permanent
marker. The solvents I tested were: lemon juice, vinegar, water, and rubbing alcohol. I tried each
of these solvents on a permanent marker line on plastic, paper, fabric, and wood. In this research
paper, I will be talking about what a permanent markeris, how they are made, why they work so
well, what rubbing alcoholis and its common uses, what vinegar is and its common uses, what
water is and why water is so essential, and what exactly lemon juice is. I will also be talking
about how plastic is made, how fabric is made, how wood is made, and how paper is made. A

The solvent that worked best in my experiment was rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is a
denatured alcohol especially used as an antiseptic. It can also be used to cool, warm, or soothe
skin. It can inflame the skin and if ingested, may potentially be fatal. Rubbing alcohol consists of
2 ingredients: isopropyl alcohol and water. In fact, rubbing alcohol consists of so much isopropyl
alcohol (70%) that it is often referred to just as isopropyl alcohol. Water was the final solvent that
I used in my experiment. Water is essential for anything and everything. Human beings need water
to stay hydrated and survive. All living creatures need water to stay hydrated and survive.
Everyone uses water every day; whether it s to shower, brush their teeth, to drink, swim, wash their
hands, or to water plants. Seventy percent of the world is made up of water. Water contains two
hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, and is often referred to as H2O. The H2 stands for the 2
oxygen atoms and the O stands for oxygen. Water can be a liquid, solid, or gas. Water in its
regular state is a liquid, can be frozen to form ice, which is a solid, or boiled at 100В° C to
evaporate it and turn it into water vapour, which is a gas. Plastic was one of the surfaces I used in
my experiment. Plastic comes from the Greek word plastikos, which means fit for moulding.

The Advantages of Using Linux
Android is an operating system that was built upon the very popular Linux kernel. Its main focus
has always been that of providing one of the best options for an operating system that will work
for touchscreen devices. Those devices typically include various smart phones as well as what has
been a newer craze as of late, tablets. Androidwas originally a self operated company, however it
was eventually bought out by Google, who was its greatest financial support. Linux itself is a very
old operating system that was built on the platform of being free for everyone, as well as being
open sourced so that anyone could have the opportunity to customize it to their liking to provide
different functionalities that the particular user may need. The popularity of Linux exploded and
with that and its ability for customization it has become of the most secure operating systems there
is. This provided an obvious choice for it to become the core of the Android system, thus providing
tremendous security for anyone that uses an Android operated device. The main features that were
chosen from the Linux kernelto become assets in the Android operating system were as follows;
user based permission, the ability to isolate processes, the ability to remove certain parts of the
kernel that could have the potential to be insecure, and a very secure inter processing structure for
communication among various parts of the operating system. Without a doubt, the greatest
advantage of the use of the

The Good Mother By Ellen Cronan Rose
The idea of Mother Earth is extremely empowering for women; most women believe that, right?
Ellen Cronan Rose finds the idea of mother earth tremendously unempowering. Rose writes in her
article The Good Mother: from Gaia to Gilead , that the imagery of mother earth is deeply
problematic and is harmful to the feminist cause. This is a shocking view considering that most
women don t seem to have a problem with that idea. Ellen Cronan Rose states that the mother earth
metaphor is harmful to the way women are viewed in society because it perpetuates negative
stereotypes against women, it views the earth and women primarily as producers, and it overlooks
the fact that both men and women are connected to nature. She goes in depth into how mother earth
imagery can impact women.
The first issue that Rose has with the mother earth image is that it appears to feed into male
stereotypes for women. She quotes a New Age article that states: The Earth is currently terrified.
Now, that s a shocker, isn t it? Great big Earth Goddess...The Big Lady quaking in her well worn
earth boots...She scared. She needs some powerful comforting. (Bagley and McIntosh 221).
Language like this shows that some people connect women with weakness, and that the earth and
women need a strong man to save them. This goes to show that while some women may be
empowered by the idea of a mother earth, others can abuse that idea and twist it into something that
is oppressive. There are still sexist people out

Ancient Civilizations of the World

The Egyptian civilization and the Mesopotamian civilization developed at roughly the same time,
by 3,100 BC, in nearby regions, probably with some indirect contact. However, these two earliest
states/civilizations are often compared in that it has similarities, yet, also differences within the
society and culture. Many aspects of the two civilizations can be compared, for instance,
geography, politics, culture, economics, religion, arts, and etc. Among these various differences, I

Writings may have been introduced from Mesopotamia, and played a major role for inspiration; yet,
there were differences in characters and material. The description, developed form could be
explained as the Egyptian writing was able to describe every spoken language into a written
language, even though it was not an alphabetical system. Ancient Egyptian language had several
forms and developed as time passed by: Old Egyptian (2650 2135BC), Middle Egyptian (2000
1750BC), Late Egyptian (1550 700), Demotic (600BC AD500), Coptic (AD300 present), and
Greek (332 30BC). In fact, as the Coptic Church still uses the Coptic for liturgical languages, the
Egyptian language can be said that it is used for more than 5,000 years, which is longer than any
other languages. In addition, there were Hieroglyphs, which were sacred carvings of the words
of God. It was used shortly before 3100BC to 40AD and was used for carving on walls and
stones. Hieratic was a writing that was used instead of Hieroglyphs when wring on Papyrus, and
indeed, it was made to make writing letters easier for priests and scribes. Demotic was a more
simple writing system than previous ones, which was used widely by ordinary people. However,
Coptic was used by only ruling elites, which described Ancient Egyptian with Ancient Greek.
Indeed, the archeological material and pictorial evidence from Egypt shows that the writing were
mainly monumental and centered on the ruling group, religion, and on the symbols of Egypt as a
single polity . This explains a clear comparison in the usage of the written system of Mesopotamian
and Egyptian civilizations, which further can be interpreted within its politics as the Egyptian had a
more centralized ruling

Use Of Disruption Of Performance On Roles Involving...
Focus has been thought to be attained automatically from stimuli with negative valence, allowing
quick recognition of possible threats (Itkes Mashal, 2015). The concept of disruption of
performance on roles involving negative words has been heavily researched (Itkes Mashal, 2015),
whereas minimal research has been conducted on the timing of semantic processing where negative
valence applies its influence on performance.
To view the influence of negative valence on performance, the emotional Stroop task has been
utilised (Itkes Mashal, 2015). The Stroop task involves participants naming colours of words whilst
disregarding their background. The words used generally bear negative or neutral valence, and
results propose that reaction times are slower to negative words in comparison to neutral words.
(Itkes Mashal, 2015) suggest that achievements on this role show a basic deceleration resulting
from dangerous stimuli.
In reference to the Automatic Vigilance Hypothesis, surrounding stimuli are involuntarily viewed
as negative or positive (Itkes Mashal, 2015). This rapid reaction occurs due to the allowance for
avoidance or approach behaviour. Negative data is prioritised when studies drew attention to
factors of behaviour and brain activity. This allows for the cognition system to be prepared for any
possible harm, that could disrupt present processing of information (Itkes Mashal, 2015).
Therefore, valence is agreed to be processed early. The question still

students with reliable information to transfer, since the information is always changing. Also, the

natural disasters. In the southwest dry conditions along roadways allow for heavy sandstorms
which frequently can reduce visibility up to zero and can cause severe if not fatal accidents on
roadways and freeways as a result (Kramer Ph.D., 2009, p. 334). Widespread devastation caused
by a natural disaster such as a tornado, can test the availability of emergency services resources

The Legacy Of Nero Claudius Caesar
One of the most infamous emperor during the Roman Empire was named Nero Claudius Caesar
(37 68 A.D). He was hedonistic, cruel and violent with people. Nero would always have lavish
parties had no sympathy for people. As an always wanted to raise to the top even if he had to
murder his own family. Since he mostly grew up with his mother Agrippina the Younger, he had a
high chance to become ruler of
In 54 A.D. Nero became emperor of Rome after the death of Claudius, who was thought to have
been poisoned by his wife Agrippina, who also happened to be Nero s mother. Nero s real name
was Lucius, but his mother decided that Nero Claudius Caesar was more suitable so she got him
to change it. Agrippina was always plotting in the background. As a wife of a former emperor and
mother to the current one, she saw herself as a new version of Livia.
Nero was only a teenager when he came to power, just seventeen years old. Having been under
the influence of his mother all his life, he now saw an opportunity to do what he wanted instead.
Within the first year of his reign he had made it obvious to her that she was not going to be sharing
his power. When an Armenian ambassador visited Rome, Nero did not let Agrippina sit next to him
to receive the guest.
During the following months, mother and son quarelled openly about his affair with an ex slave
girl called Acte. He was already married to Octavia, daulghter of Claudius. Agrippina did not
approve of this liaison and at this point started to get closer with Britannicus, Claudius s son with
the unfortunate Messalina. When Nero saw this he realised this could be a threat to his reign, so
he had Britannicus poisoned and forced Agrippina to move out of the palace, took her bodyguard
away and slapped a lawsuit on her.
Despite her distance from Court, Agrippina did not stop trying to interfere with things. Being the
daughter of Germanicus was a big deal and this ensured she was not ignored.
When Nero started an affair with Poppaea Sabina, trouble really started. Poppaea was an upper
class woman who could marry Nero if he divorced Octavia. She realised that as long as Agrippina
was alive, there was no way she could get Nero to marry her. At this time, it is also rumoured that

Relationship Between Ownership And A Sense Of Self
Anywhere in the world, someone acquires something, whether it be money, a car, or even an idea.
We can own many intangible and tangible items in life, but how does ownership relate to a sense
and development of self? This question has been constantly answered for centuries through
intelligent people like Plato, Aristotle, and Jean Paul Sartre. However, the question has received
no agreeable answer. In the end, people will agree that there is a strong and positive relationship
between ownership and a sense of selfbecause the things you own will define and develop who
you are positively by exhibiting what you like, what you can and cannot do, and in the end,
characterizes you, as long as you use the things you own properly. Jean Paul Sartre argues that
intangible items such as skill and knowledge is something that we own and defines who we are,
since acquiring skill and knowledge makes us better in different aspects of life. He also argues
the tangible aspects of life that we own also defines us. By saying this, Sartre is agreeing that
when we own something such as knowledge, it will shape our sense of selfand identitysince it
makes us a better person when we use our own knowledge to benefit our own selves and others,
thus showing a strong and positive relationship between ownership and sense of self and identity.
Aristotle would also agree with both Jean Paul Sartre and the statement that the relationship
between ownership and sense of self is strong and positive

Present Day In American Culture
This essay has had a deliberate focus on gnomic, historical quotes in order to emphasise the
importance of the past. In truth, however, so much of history is unrecorded, so many lines of it
unrecorded. Without archaeology, all information on proto historic civilisations would only be from
written accounts, and there would be no information whatsoever on prehistoric civilisations.
Archaeology can even serve to explain modern trends. The present day has been influenced so
much by the pastthat the two are inextricably linked, and learning about the past can tell so much
about the present today. Equally, so much about the past can be explained using present rituals.
Some Native Americans have traditions that can be traced back thousands of years

Personal Narrative-A Wolf s Den
The Wolf s Den I lived under the roof of a wolf s den. Each night the two wolves in my den
would bark and growl at each other like the ear splitting shrill of a kettle. They would often
pursue each other with torture and seek revenge. On several occasions, the two wolves in my den
would pounce on each other with words and end their fight with tears and with blood. Everyday
was a story told out of hell. My mother would fight with my father about their intense and endless
differences. Often I would lie awake in my bed listening to the screams and slurred shouting that
pounded against my bedroom door well into the night. My den was once peaceful and harmonious.
Love was the backbone at a time where I called my residence home. With the accumulating... Show

I had no idea how to bring the subject about but I thought the best way would be to say
something different. Come on. You must be thinking something. Daniel urged. Tell me. Please?
You know you can tell me anything Evie. I promise not to laugh. I pondered on this thought
momentarily, with my secret threatening to spill out from my mouth. I like you I blurted. I felt
my face grow hot as I held my breath, eager and frightened of his response. I felt my heart

moment and looked longingly at me with his captivating, blue eyes. His lips twitched into an
elated smile and replied I ve felt that way from the moment I laid eyes on you. Our faces merged

The Security Of The United States Security
After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, people in the United States knew that absolutely
anything could happen without even thinking about it. This event made the government realize that
the United States security was not the best it could be. There always has been security everywhere,
but today everything is taken to another level and is being controlled with a great amount of
precautions. Now there is a lot more airport security, which will help prevent any more hijacking of
planes or bombings. There has also been a lot more securityin New York City because of the terrorist
attack. There are also new technologies and programs that help with the security of this country.

The Department of Homeland Security had also formed a division to analyze intelligence
gathered by the FBI, CIA, and many other police agencies and military agencies (Swanson,
Charles R., Territo, Leonard, Taylor, Robert W., 90). Barack Obama appointed Janet Napolitano as
the third secretary of the department and is also the governor in the area of terrorism and
immigration reform. Napolitano has played an important role in strengthening border security by
increasing forces along the border, and increasing resources and technology to aid in the fight
against terrorism (Swanson, Charles R., Territo, Leonard, Taylor, Robert W., 90). The DHS has
become an important role to the security of the public in the United States.
Within this department, there was a color coded threat system known as the Homeland Security

terrorist attacks, yellow for significant risk of terrorist attacks, blue for general risk of terrorist

Compare And Contrast Western Medicine And Chinese Medicine
It is important to grasp that one cannot understand Traditional Chinese Medicine by trying to
explain it in Western scientific or medical terms. The ancient Chinese physicians developed a
system of medicine that has survived for over three thousand years. Chinese medicine is complete
within itself but that it is based on physiological concepts, theories regarding cause of disease,
methods of diagnosis, and principles of treatment that are completely different from the western
way of viewing the body.
One way to understand how two medical systems can view the body differently without one
system being right and the other system being wrong is to use the analogy of a map. For
example, compare a road map and a topographical map of the city of Waco. Both maps represent
the same area, but they do so in very different ways. As long as both maps are based on accurate
information, serve as useful tools for their intended purposes, and have been created with self
consistent logic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Western medicine is like the road map. Depending on the size and scale of the map, a road map
can offer very detailed representation of countries, states, counties, cities, neighborhoods, and even
individual buildings. If you were using a map to select the shortest route to an appointment across
town, you would choose one with quite a small scale and then you would disregard parts of the
map that did not pertain the roads and highways that you plan to use. This is similar to the way that
Western medicine views the body as a collection of distinct parts (organs, tissues, cells) that can be
taken apart and considered in isolation. Diagnosis and treatment of disease in Western medicine
involves using signs, symptoms, and various diagnostic tests to pinpoint the disordered part(s) of
the body and then counteract these signs and symptoms with medications, surgery, or other

Coloration In The Wizard Of Oz
In L. Frank Baum s The Wizard of Oz, the coloration throughout the Land of Oz is quite important.
Perhaps Baum used varying color themes as a metaphor for ethnicity; if so, this demonstrates that
the Wicked Witches correlate to historical figures such as Francisco Pizarro, whom historian Jared
Diamond describes (in his renowned novel, Guns, Germs, and Steel ) as having used fear as a
weapon, in conjunction with the unseen and misunderstood force of disease (this could be a
metaphor for magic).
The Land of Oz is divided into five regions. The northern region of the Land of Oz is known as
Gillikin Country , wherein the color of choice is purple. To the South is Quadling Country, in which
the focus is red. Residing in the East, Munchkins

The Common Defense Summary
In the book everything took place in the new world or as what we now know as the United
States of America. The main states that were involved in the book of The Common Defense were
New York, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. The major battles and war took place in
those states. The time period in which was discussed in the book was from the sixteen hundredths
to the late eighteen hundredths. Britain came over to North America to build colonies and get
land. They also wanted to find gold and riches not just land. Many jumped at the opportunity to
get some land and do better for themselves and their families. The first colony that was built was
Jamestown, Virginia in 1607 a group of 100 people made the voyage to start their new lives. Many
colonial settlers came to America for many reasons such as religious freedom, and to make money.
They settled into 13 colonies, known as New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North
Carolina, South Carolina, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maryland, Georgia, Connecticut, Rhode
Island, and Delaware.
It all began during the colonial era when England, France and Spain were the most powerful
countries and were competing for land, power and riches. This led to the colonial ... Show more

Free Market Economies In Canada
We know that in our free market economy some will prosper more than others. What we don t
accept is the idea that some folks won t even get a chance Julian Castro. Market economies exist
all over the world. Although there are no pure market economies, there are economies that are close
to being a pure marketeconomy. Market economies are more individualistic, and have little
government involvement. First of all, it is a very individualistic economy, it s very every man for
himself . It benefits those who are stronger and more able to make money, and is disadvantageous
to those who struggle to make money. Secondly, there are not really any government programs to
help those who need it. And finally, in market economies, there are more privately... Show more

In fact, the chances of babies dying when there are born are higher in market economies because
there is more private healthcare which leads to less hospitalized births due to the costs. There is a
huge difference between the infant mortality rate in the USA (which is a market economy), and in
Sweden, which is a more planned economy. For example, the infant mortality rate in the USA is
5.8 deaths per 1,000 live births, and Sweden is 2.2. Another reason that the government doesn t
help people in market economies is that they do not provide support for things such as health
insurance. In addition, some people cannot afford to go the the doctor for things that may be
important, and since the government doesn t help them, they cannot get help, and some may die.
For instance, there are studies in the US that prove that many Americans cannot afford healthcare.
The last way that the government doesn t help is, in market economies such as the United States,
the government only provides help for those who absolutely need it. For instance, most people do
not qualify for welfare, even though some people may seem like they are alright, they still cannot
pay the outrageous healthcare bills. Overall, switching to a more market economy here in Canada
would in fact be a bad choice because the government would provide less support, and more people

  • 2. The Inevitable Spread of Soviet-backed Communism in... The Inevitable Spread of Soviet backed Communism in Eastern Europe At the end of World War II, the Soviet Union, Great Britain and the United States were principle players involved with reshaping post war Europe. The region most affected policy changes was Eastern Europe, which includes those states that would eventually fall behind the Iron Curtain. While the camaraderie between the Big Three deteriorated, Soviet backed communism was spreading across Eastern Europe. The argument during this time was that expansionism was inevitable since Stalin had already decided to establish Soviet power and Soviet typed systems in the lands his army occupied; resistance was pointless. While nothing in history is inevitable, to a great extent, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Democracy never properly developed in Eastern Europe. The leaders and the elites of the newly independent Eastern states believed that Western styled constitutional governments would produce Western styled democracies that would be stable and prosperous, as well as effectively guarantee their power against challengers. Democracy strangely benefited the old elites and extremists were elected into government. The democratic roots planted in Western Europe were unable to take hold, leaving Eastern Europe vulnerable to communism. There were also political and economic structural weaknesses in Eastern Europe after 1945. The communists had a high probability of successfully filling the void in the political structure. The forces to resist them were no longer there, either because they were destroyed by World War II or undermined by the outcome of post war settlements. Those involved in the fledgling democratic forces in Eastern Europe were systematically killed, deported or forced into exile, first by the Germans, then by the communists, illustrating the weak democratic foundations of the region. According to Schopflin, In essence, Central and Eastern Europe was the scene of a power vacuum and the communists proved to be the force best able to fill it (60). In Czechoslovakia, for example, the old elite lost prestige and self confidence after the war, and the upper and middle classes were repressed. In Yugoslavia, the war left a tradition of ... • 4. How Helicopter Parents Cause Binge Drinking Summary PHL103 Paper 1: Argument AnalysisThe conclusion of the article How Helicopter Parents cause Binge Drinking by Caitlin Flanagan is that Helicopter Parents, get real parents, cause college kids to binge drinking. Caitlin has many premises, but not all are fool proof premises and contain fallacies. However, the structure of her argumentis relatively sound. If all of her premises were proven true then the conclusion that all helicopter parents cause their kids to Binge Drink would be true for every case. The first two premises I analyzed dealt with the identity of the helicopter parent and if there was a true identity. The first premise is that parents in the 1970s were not helicopter parents and most children have survived. This premise would be solid if it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, she is also using the appeal to ignorance fallacy because she says that most have survived so it must have been because the parents weren t hovering over us at all time. She doesn t account for any other possible reason for why they survived, so because there is a lack of evidence it must be true. The second premise is that helicopter parents are usually white, college educated, middle to upper class, get real parents that practice social hosting, supervised drinking. While this is a very stereotypical statement, it is backed up with multiple examples and incidents. For one she explains how lower class students cannot afford to binge drink and do not have the protection and support should something happen. In addition, for the race hypothesis she uses the example of UVA vs Keene state. At UVA one black ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the dry memorization of wars and rulers to the watered down way that textbooks depict controversial events of the past, lessons on history can really become a snooze. But when you re imagine the past and reflect on past social conditions that still plague society today it s easier to resuscitate those important moments from the past that seem dead. My advice? • 11. Examples Of Greed In The Pardoner s Tale There are seven destructive sins that, once dedicated, lessen the possibility of unceasing life and bliss in paradise. They are alluded to as dangerous in light of the fact that every transgression is firmly connected to another, prompting other more prominent sins. The seven savage sins are pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, and greed. Geoffrey Chaucer s gem, The Canterbury Tales, gave a superb anecdote about the destructive sins. Concentrating essentially on the wrongdoings of pride, and voracity, the characters found in The Canterbury Tales, especially The Pardoner s Tale, were so overpowered by their natural cravings and aspirations that they neglected to see the impacts of their corrupt activities, hence denying themselves of salvation. Gluttony is characterized as the over liberality of nourishment and beverage. The pardoner said that greedy was the wrongdoing that defiled the world. The principal type of gluttony is intoxication. Socrates believes that banning certain works of art from his ideal city is the best course of action for everyone. I will argue that Socrates is correct in his assessment that controlling the flow of art is for the betterment of society. By banning certain works of art, the souls of the young can be molded into an image that loves truth and honesty. Socrates says So our first task, it seems, is to supervise the storytellers: if they make up a good story, we must accept it; if not, we must reject it. (Republic II, 377B). The objection is that such policies suppress the individuals right to autonomy, and to decide for themselves what is virtuous and what is not. Nonetheless, Socrates believes that restricting art is the best course of action. The influence of the bad art and the good art will take effect in the mind of the individual throughout society. Such as the stories of the gods, Socrates believes that the gods must be represented in a good light. Then kids will emulate good hearted behavior. If their mothers read stories about the horrible crimes the gods committed, then the children might grow up to believe that such immorality is normal and acceptable. If those children grow up to become adults and leaders of society, then society would become callous and unjust. An unjust city is the antithesis of an ideal city, which is what Socrates ... Although I wouldn t want Hillary Clinton for a president, I definitely can agree with everything she was advocating in this particular speech. She explains the ways in which women s rights should be equivalent to human s rights, but are currently not, in China. The issues she was addressing are not issues that we have often in America today; they are shocking and overlooked. If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women s rights and women s rights are human rights once and for all. On September 5, 1995, 180 countries came together in Beijing China to hear first lady Hillary Clinton s speech about women s rights. This speech was the United Nations Fourth World Conference of Women. The target audience for this speech is governments and other organizations that can help meet the goal of making women s rights human rights. She addressed problems that every single country faced concerning the liberties of women, and why it was important that they receive these freedoms. Dreamers are special in this world because they have hope for something they believe in. Nothing is more fascinating than seeing an individual who never gave up and worked extremely hard to reach their goal. Having read only three sections so far, I have explored the individual s purpose and passion for the work they pursue. The Dreamers section has made me analyze what I have and want with my future career. Overall, the elements of the book defining dreamers explains the meaning of a risktaker, the hard work and dedication involved, and the passion it takes to reach your goals. Dave Isay strongly connects with his readers in the Dreamers section of Callings. Adventure and purpose surround this section especially with the bridge tender, street astronomer, and the NBA referee story. Defining a dreamer can be determined in many ways. As said before, adventure and purpose are the main components of a dreamer. The information gained from this section is that dreamers have this sense of hope and passion for the calling they pursue no matter what it is. Ellen Cronan Rose finds the idea of mother earth tremendously unempowering. Rose writes in her article The Good Mother: from Gaia to Gilead , that the imagery of mother earth is deeply problematic and is harmful to the feminist cause. This is a shocking view considering that most women don t seem to have a problem with that idea. Ellen Cronan Rose states that the mother earth metaphor is harmful to the way women are viewed in society because it perpetuates negative stereotypes against women, it views the earth and women primarily as producers, and it overlooks the fact that both men and women are connected to nature. She goes in depth into how mother earth imagery can impact women. The first issue that Rose has with the mother earth image is that it appears to feed into male stereotypes for women. She quotes a New Age article that states: The Earth is currently terrified. Now, that s a shocker, isn t it? Great big Earth Goddess...The Big Lady quaking in her well worn earth boots...She scared. She needs some powerful comforting. (Bagley and McIntosh 221). Language like this shows that some people connect women with weakness, and that the earth and women need a strong man to save them. Ancient Egyptian language had several forms and developed as time passed by: Old Egyptian (2650 2135BC), Middle Egyptian (2000 1750BC), Late Egyptian (1550 700), Demotic (600BC AD500), Coptic (AD300 present), and Greek (332 30BC). In fact, as the Coptic Church still uses the Coptic for liturgical languages, the Egyptian language can be said that it is used for more than 5,000 years, which is longer than any other languages. In addition, there were Hieroglyphs, which were sacred carvings of the words of God. It was used shortly before 3100BC to 40AD and was used for carving on walls and stones. • 31. Use Of Disruption Of Performance On Roles Involving... Focus has been thought to be attained automatically from stimuli with negative valence, allowing quick recognition of possible threats (Itkes Mashal, 2015). The concept of disruption of performance on roles involving negative words has been heavily researched (Itkes Mashal, 2015), whereas minimal research has been conducted on the timing of semantic processing where negative valence applies its influence on performance. To view the influence of negative valence on performance, the emotional Stroop task has been utilised (Itkes Mashal, 2015). The Stroop task involves participants naming colours of words whilst disregarding their background. The words used generally bear negative or neutral valence, and results propose that reaction times are slower to negative words in comparison to neutral words. (Itkes Mashal, 2015) suggest that achievements on this role show a basic deceleration resulting from dangerous stimuli. In reference to the Automatic Vigilance Hypothesis, surrounding stimuli are involuntarily viewed as negative or positive (Itkes Mashal, 2015). This rapid reaction occurs due to the allowance for avoidance or approach behaviour. Negative data is prioritised when studies drew attention to factors of behaviour and brain activity. This allows for the cognition system to be prepared for any possible harm, that could disrupt present processing of information (Itkes Mashal, 2015). Therefore, valence is agreed to be processed early. The question still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We can own many intangible and tangible items in life, but how does ownership relate to a sense and development of self? This question has been constantly answered for centuries through intelligent people like Plato, Aristotle, and Jean Paul Sartre. However, the question has received no agreeable answer. In the end, people will agree that there is a strong and positive relationship between ownership and a sense of selfbecause the things you own will define and develop who you are positively by exhibiting what you like, what you can and cannot do, and in the end, characterizes you, as long as you use the things you own properly. Jean Paul Sartre argues that intangible items such as skill and knowledge is something that we own and defines who we are, since acquiring skill and knowledge makes us better in different aspects of life. He also argues the tangible aspects of life that we own also defines us. By saying this, Sartre is agreeing that when we own something such as knowledge, it will shape our sense of selfand identitysince it makes us a better person when we use our own knowledge to benefit our own selves and others, thus showing a strong and positive relationship between ownership and sense of self and identity. Compare And Contrast Western Medicine And Chinese Medicine It is important to grasp that one cannot understand Traditional Chinese Medicine by trying to explain it in Western scientific or medical terms. The ancient Chinese physicians developed a system of medicine that has survived for over three thousand years. Chinese medicine is complete within itself but that it is based on physiological concepts, theories regarding cause of disease, methods of diagnosis, and principles of treatment that are completely different from the western way of viewing the body. One way to understand how two medical systems can view the body differently without one system being right and the other system being wrong is to use the analogy of a map. For example, compare a road map and a topographical map of the city of Waco. Both maps represent the same area, but they do so in very different ways. This gracious 1920s classic with rooms ten times the cost of a casa particular offers commanding views down Avenida De Los Presidentes, a frozen in time sitting room, immaculate staff, adequate restaurants, a nearby bank, and taxi drivers on tap. Baked Europeans encircle the pool by day and a Cuban girl band entertains guests at night. We have a problem However, there wasn t time to discover any of this on our first day because our delight on arrival was dampened by I m sorry, ... . The explanation was vague, but the crux of it was clear we didn t have a room for the night. Offering lunch and a complimentary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 53. Free Market Economies In Canada We know that in our free market economy some will prosper more than others. What we don t accept is the idea that some folks won t even get a chance Julian Castro. Market economies exist all over the world. Although there are no pure market economies, there are economies that are close to being a pure marketeconomy. Market economies are more individualistic, and have little government involvement. First of all, it is a very individualistic economy, it s very every man for himself . It benefits those who are stronger and more able to make money, and is disadvantageous to those who struggle to make money. Secondly, there are not really any government programs to help those who need it. And finally, in market economies, there are more privately... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, the chances of babies dying when there are born are higher in market economies because there is more private healthcare which leads to less hospitalized births due to the costs. There is a huge difference between the infant mortality rate in the USA (which is a market economy), and in Sweden, which is a more planned economy. For example, the infant mortality rate in the USA is 5.8 deaths per 1,000 live births, and Sweden is 2.2. Another reason that the government doesn t help people in market economies is that they do not provide support for things such as health insurance. In addition, some people cannot afford to go the the doctor for things that may be important, and since the government doesn t help them, they cannot get help, and some may die. For instance, there are studies in the US that prove that many Americans cannot afford healthcare. The last way that the government doesn t help is, in market economies such as the United States, the government only provides help for those who absolutely need it. For instance, most people do not qualify for welfare, even though some people may seem like they are alright, they still cannot pay the outrageous healthcare bills. Overall, switching to a more market economy here in Canada would in fact be a bad choice because the government would provide less support, and more people would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Kipper s Lessons Ding Ding Ding , the bell rings and it s time for lunch. Jamie walks to a lunch table and eats by herself. You see her there alone, and go sit by her. You decide to do this because of the lessons you ve learned from children s books. Kipper teaches many valuable lessons to high schoolers. The book teaches to be happy with what you have and to appreciate others differences. One lesson that high school students can learn from the children s book Kipper is being happy with what you have. This lesson can guide students to improve academically, by teaching them to be happy with success, do not feel down if you don t succeed, and appreciate your teachers giving you the opportunity to work in groups. The lesson being happy with what you have, is shown in the book Kipper when Kipper tries all of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Truly appreciate the grade and be content with, your success. To celebrate and be happy with your score on the test maybe have a special treat later that day or cut your study time a little bit short and just relax. The lesson indicated from the children s book can also apply to students if they were not satisfied with a score on a test or quiz. If students receives a less than desirable grade on a test this lesson can teach them to genuinely appreciate that they tried their best on the assignment. To appreciate you hard work even if you get a bad grade could be hard to try to be happy when you did do too well, but you should try by to be happy. The last way the lesson being happy with, you have can guide with students in school is to appreciate working in groups. Everyone knows, frequently you obtain a group with not one of your friends to work on a project with. Consequently, when you do not embrace the fact you earn the right to work in a group and be content with your group members, you will not be as successful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. The Main Goal Of Taking Me299 Course Introduction The main goal of taking ME299 course is to learn the requirements and achieving the knowledge of needed acknowledgement to fulfill the final thesis (ME500). Actually, as a mechanical engineer I should be able to handle and manage related electronic and computer sections in conjunction with mechanical project. For the final thesis, I will design a prototyped soil sample collector vehicle. This vehicle would be able to be controlled remotely. In much simple words, the vehicle moves to a defined place in distance, collects little of sampled soil (Probably, it would be sand for the test) and gets back to the starting point. One of the main tasks would be designing an optimized external power source. Common Arduino projects use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Professor Massimo Banzi was looking for a low cost way to make it easier for the design students there to work with technology. He discussed his problem with David Guartielles, a researcher visiting from Malmo University in Sweden who was looking for a similar solution, and Arduino was born. There are many different types of Arduino like Uno, Yun, and Mega. Arduino Uno is chosen to be the drive the brain of the robot (Fig1). Dinner is served was the blog title announcing on September 25, 2010, the arrival of thee Arduino Uno (meaning one in Italian), and it s the bigger brother Mega2560. The Arduino Uno is pin compatible with previous Arduinos, including the Duemilanove and its predecessor the Diecimila. Figure 1 Arduino UNO The major difference between the Uno and its predecessors is the inclusion of an ATmega8U2 microcontroller programmed as a USB to serial converter, replacing the ageing FTDI chipset used by previous versions. The ATmega8U2 can be reprogrammed to make the Arduino look like another USB device, such as a mouse, keyboard, or joystick. Another difference is that it has a more reliable onboard 3.3 volts, which helps with the stability of some shields that have caused problems in the past. The Uno is a good all purpose Arduino and is the best bet for a starter board with its auto switching ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
