Agrumentative Essay
Writing an argumentative essay can be a challenging task that demands a combination of critical
thinking, research skills, and persuasive writing abilities. Crafting a well-structured and
compelling argument requires a thorough understanding of the topic, a keen awareness of
different perspectives, and the ability to present evidence effectively.
One of the initial challenges is selecting a suitable topic that is both interesting and debatable.
Once the topic is chosen, extensive research is essential to gather relevant information, statistics,
and examples to support your claims. The process of sifting through various sources and
synthesizing information can be time-consuming and requires a discerning eye to distinguish
credible sources from unreliable ones.
Organizing the essay poses another set of challenges. Developing a clear thesis statement that
encapsulates the main argument and constructing a logical flow of ideas can be intricate.
Ensuring coherence and maintaining a balance between different sections of the essay are crucial
for conveying a persuasive and well-rounded argument.
Moreover, addressing counterarguments and refuting opposing viewpoints is an integral part of
an argumentative essay. This requires anticipating potential objections and providing evidence or
reasoning to counteract them. Striking the right balance between assertiveness and openness to
alternative perspectives is a delicate task that requires finesse.
The actual process of writing, refining, and polishing the essay also demands attention to detail
and a mastery of language. Clarity, conciseness, and precision are essential to convey ideas
effectively. Crafting a strong conclusion that reinforces the main argument without introducing
new information is another aspect that requires careful consideration.
In conclusion, writing an argumentative essay is a multifaceted process that challenges one's
research, analytical, and writing skills. However, with dedication and a systematic approach, it is
possible to overcome these challenges and produce a compelling piece of writing that persuades
and informs. If you find yourself struggling, remember that assistance is available. Similar essays

Children Of Men Analysis
Children of Men and The Road on the Ethics of Survival In films depicting
worldwide disaster, the audience is shown the lengths the protagonists will go in
order to survive. While doing so, man s values are often put to the test and there is a
drastic shift in ethics when human civilization has collapsed. This occurs in both
Children of Men and The Road. Both films show its characters travel through various
locations with the belief that they will be safer in a new and different environment,
and the survivor s efforts to protect themselves from outside invaders, despite often
crossing ethical boundaries. However, the two films differ in the extent to which its
characters will go to do this. In Children of Men, ethicsof survival is crossed when
the British government detains illegal refugees in their belief to protect its citizens.
By doing so, it also raises the belief of superiority of beings, rather than coming
together during a global catastrophe. In The Road, ethical boundaries are crossed
both once food becomes scarce and a majority of the survivors resort to cannibalism
in order to stay alive, and in a few situations where the main character finds himself in
dire encounters. In Alfonso CuarГіn s Children of Men, civilizations have become
victim to humaninfertility and for two decades, are unable to reproduce. As a result,
the human population has decreased drastically and civilizations collapse. With
Britain becoming one of the last functioning governments,
The Weaknesses Of The Constitution
here were many ways that the Constitution helped to change the weaknesses of the
United States. It helps by making the laws easier to pass and more fair, along with
different documents. The Articles of Confederation were obviously a flawed
document if they needed to be changed into the Constitution, thus the Constitution is
helping. The first way that the Constitution helped with the weaknesses of the United
States were the different ways it made passing laws more fair. When amending a
document the Articles of Confederationneeded 13 out of 13 people to approve of the
document. The Constitution provided a more reasonable way by having в…” of both
houses and Вѕ of the state legislature. This is a better method because not 100% of
people are going to agree on everything. The same type of thing worked when
passing laws. 9/13 people needed to approve in the Articles of Confederation while
it s now 50% +1 of both houses plus the signature of the President. This allows for
things to be more fair and it makes sure everyone in power somewhat agrees on
what is going on and not just a couple of people are deciding on what the citizens
new laws will be. The Constitution is a document that may make people feel equal
and not like they re below some one else. One example of this is when Frederick
Douglass stated that if you, abolish slavery tomorrow, and not a single sentence or
syllable of the Constitution need to be altered. This is saying that the Constitution is
a good document
Plan to Improve Correctional Facilities
Plan to Improve Correctional Facilities
Week 5 Assignment 2 Some women in jail may have committed similar crimes as
their male counterparts. Most women inmates live in the same conditions as men
inmates do, yet women inmates face issues that are far more different than male
inmates. The purpose of this paper is to point out some of the issues women inmates
face in their everyday life in prison, and offer suggestions as to improve those issues.
Overall, the population of women in the criminal justice system is the fastest growing
(Ramirez, 2012). Women in prison have gone up over twenty percent and over fifteen
percent in probation. Another staggering percentage is women arrested after getting
out which is thirty percent of sixty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ensuring there are programs geared towards rehabilitating and healing rather than
throwing the key away will improve the overall success of lowering incarcerated
numbers and better enhancement reentry outcomes. Another recommendation for
improvement in addition to improving living conditions for females in prison
would be prison nursery programs. (Women s Prison Association, 2009) points out
there are nine states currently participating in open prison nursery programs. There
has also been discussion of allowing women who give birth to serve their prison
sentence in a none prison setting. I think allowing women to serve prison
sentences with small children in a non prison environment would improve the
mental conditions of many women who are in prison. There can also be a work
for system for women with children to work towards serving their time in a half
way house with their children instead of spending their whole sentence alone. I
think this will help with the mental side of not just mothers but children as well
who need such nurturing. Granted not all recommendations are going to be met
with cheers or thumbs up. As I said there are going to be naysayers who disapprove
of such rash changes. I have to admit I use to be one of those people until I started
reading more into what causes women to commit crimes and what happens to
women when they are in prison. It s safe to say there needs to be changes for

Archetype In Mean Girls
This is girls world, all of the fightings had to be sneaky. Said by Lindsay Lohan in
the movie, Mean Girls. The entertainment and fairytales stories have a tendency to
have women going against each other. Cinderella has mainly had her stepmother
and step sisters keeping her busy with chores for twenty four hours. While
Rapunzel is stuck in a high tower alone because of a witch. Not only classic fairy
tales have this pattern, but songs have this same formula. Notably, Taylor Swift is
known for her bitter reputation of calling out her ex boyfriends, but also writes
songs calling out women. Lastly, movies will show women fighting against each
other for the comedy effect especially Mean Girls. In stories, women characters
tend to destroy other female archetypes for power. The classic story of Cinderella
has women degrading each other. She lives with her stepmother and stepsisters.
After her father died, she became her slave to them. The archetype of the mother is
that she is a witch. Her archetype is a witch because they tend to manipulate the
princess badly. She abused Cinderella and later on tells her that she can not go to
the ball. As for Cinderella, her archetype would be the princess. She is the princess
because of acts like the damsel in distress. Cinderella is docile when her family
bossing around. Her stepmother is controlling her freedom. Another example that is
similar to Cinderella is Rapunzel. The story of Rapunzel is also a classic fairytale
where a witch
The Shawl, By Cynthia Ozick
Between 1941 and 1945, over six million Jews were victims of the Holocaust, an
attempt by the German Nazis to exterminate the Jewish race. (Holocaust The Basics
). Adolf Hitler, the leader of Germany, thought the Jews were the reason that
Germany lost World War I (Jews in Nazi Germany History Learning Site). Hitler
blamed them for almost all of Germany s problems and he wanted to exterminate the
entire Jewish population. The Shawl , written by Cynthia Ozick, tells one of the
many horrifying stories from the Holocaust. The story has three main characters: the
young mother Rosa, her baby Magda, and her fourteen year old niece Stella. They
were victims of the Holocaust who had an awful experience in the Nazi
concentration camps. Whenever the holocaust victims had to march to different
concentration camps, people who could not walk on their own in a line were shot on
the spot, including infants. Rosa protects Magda by hiding her in a magic shawl, but
Stella selfishly takes away the shawl, leading to Magda s death. Through the
characters of Stella, Rosa, and Magda, Cynthia Ozick shows the desperation and
inhumanity that resulted when the Holocaust victims were denied of their basic
human rights. The Shawl is set late in World War II when the Allied forces were
beginning to penetrate into Germany itself. During the Holocaust, the Nazis denied
the Jewsbasic human rights, violating their rights to life, liberty, and property. Hitler
said it was not enough for the Jews to
Descriptive Essay On A Strip Club
As part of the child custody agreement with Shane, every other weekend I was
required to drive an hour south to exchange my youngest daughter with him. I once
sat down and added up all the miles and money that had gone into driving that route
back and forth, and realized I could have driven around the world and gotten a lovely
vacation out it. But instead, it was just Bowling Green.
Several years into this bi monthly drive, a new establishment opened up right off the
highway, Club54, on the outskirts of Bowling Green. It was, amazingly enough, a
strip club. Now over the years, I have taken a liking to strip clubs, I ve been in many,
all over the country, but was actually quite surprised that this little tiny town, in the
middle of nowhere now had one, and could not resist checking it out.
Dropping off my daughter, and after the brief, cold exchange that always went with
it, Billy and I jumped back into my car and headed for Bowling Green s newest
attraction, eagerly excited to see what it had to offer. Pulling up into the almost
empty parking lot, we paused to look over the white, windowless, nondescript,
kinda shabby looking building, giving each other a questioning look about our life
choices. With a shrug, I giggled as we jumped out of the car, hollering, To the nekid
ladies! and Billy hooted his approval.
Walking in the door, it was a bit ragged at that end, a dimly lit pool table off to the
side, old worn down carpeting, and 70 s style decor. Beginning to wonder if
Analysis Of By Wendell Berry
The Recent Age, we are entering more of a modern era with globalization,
technology, and freedom, which is caught between modernism and
postmodernism. In the confusion between modernism and postmodernism, society
is left to wonder what nature really is. In Remembering by Wendell Berry, we hear
the story of Andy Catlett and his struggles, when he gets his hand chopped off in a
corn picker. We are able to see how he gets passed his problem that is affecting his
family as well, and he comes to realize he needs to get passed it. Nature helps to
clarify the problem and the solution, which Catlett struggles with throughout the
book. Andy Catlett s identity was lost as his hand was separated from him. He
struggle to adapt to his new hand, His right hand had been the one with which he
reached out to the world and attached himself to it. When he lost his hand, he lost
his hold (Berry 23). He feels disconnected from everything and all he could do is
remember how things use to be with his hand. He remembers working and being
able to do anything he wanted, however now he struggles to connect with anyone
even his wife. In various parts of the book is difficult to realize if he is remembering
something or if he is discussing about his life now. Berry uses natural events to
describe attitudes and feelings, Time and their lives flowed over them, like swift
water over stones, rubbing them together, grinding off their edges, making them fit
together (Berry 29). This blurs the boundaries
Summary Of Legalizing Marijuana
Keeping a fit and healthy body is a concept that is very pertinent in life. In today s
fast paced world, people go to extremes in the name of health. Although Marijuana is
only legal in twenty five states in America, cannabis users are fighting for a legal
law to be passed rectifying the use of marijuana in America. In The single most
important pitfall to avoid with legalizing marijuana discusses the pros of marijuana,
how it can change the market, growing cannabisproperly, create revenue and even
aid a person s life. For example, the article discusses how medicinal marijuana is a
considerable crossover between the two groups; the number of medical cards issued
has dropped dramatically, he says, with patients and recreational customers
Comparing Disney And Pixar
Since this was your only feature film with Disney, how did that come about?
You usually don t get to get too close to Disney and Pixar like that unless you re a
celebrity or you re somebody on the inside or you know somebody. A lot of the
journeyman work is done with a loop group, and they pick up different characters.
Friends of mine do that, and they do great.
The role came to me through my agent. It was Project X of course. And it was a
paragraph. It was an old time radio announcer, and I do all those from different
decades. I m a big fan of those old radio shows. So I just sent it in and forgot all
about it. And a few weeks later, the agent calls, Haaay! That s her voice when she s
happy. So they flew me up to PIXAR, and I recorded up there and did a session
here at Warner Bros. with Pete Docter and the crew on the line as well. And even
then, it wasn t guaranteed that I was gonna make the cut cause it s PIXAR. Then
we found out not too long before the opening that in fact I was a big part of the
beginning of the film, and I was invited to the Hollywood premiere. {laughs}
Welcome to Hollywood! That was really cool. Jon Voightsat right behind me in the

The History Of 1960s Music In The 1960s
Music in 1960s
Music has been a part of the human race for as long as it has been existing. Its
various forms and genres categorizes and divides the music country wise, ranging
from initially Folk music as the base, moving on to Country music as a regions
identity. The music gained enormous name and fame because of its hypnotizing
effect on the singer and the listener. From Rock n Roll, evolving towards British
invasion, music in 1960 s played a major role in evolution of UK.This evolution was
brought up by the introduction of rock and roll, collaborating different races and
changing the lifestyle thus transforming UK from a conservative country into the
capital of the world.
Before rock and roll hit the Great Britain, blues and jazz were the genres of the era.
Singers from various nations like the US or Africa, started working solo or as
bands and increased the impact of music on people slive. Before the 50 s, various
controversies arose regarding the style of Jazz and Blues, and their effect on the
local residents and The British Invasion also began around 1963 with the arrival of
The Beatles on the music scene and the type of rabid fandom that followed them
would change the way people would view and interact with me and musicians forever.
(The People History). Although rock and roll began influencing Britain in the 1950s,
it wasn t until the early Sixties and the emergence of British Invasion groups like The
Beatles, that music truly began its revolutionary changes
Walser Hub Case
Walser is a company that owns multiple dealerships throughout Minnesota. Most of
them have service garages attached to them which repairs and checks out cars.
When theses garages need a part to fix a car they have to call it into the hub, which
is the warehouse that has all the parts. The warehouse fills out the order and
delivers it to the service garage that need the part. The hub uses to be an old auto
part store before Walser bought it, though I did not work at this place before Walser
bought it. It was a busy place where employees would have to do multiple tasks, as
well as help out fellow employees, while being friendly.
The Hub is located in South St Paul, right next to Inver Grove Heights and Newport.

If there were no parts runner presents and an order has been sitting there for a
while they would take the delivery. Most of the stuff usually comes from local
places, but there are a couple that are from far states, such as California. Sometime
parts runner would not be back because they might have to take two orders, one to
Bloomington and the other to Plymouth, then they most likely would not be back for
a couple of hours, so then if no parts runner was present they were next up to deliver

Chemistry lab report Essay
The goal of the project was to characterize an unknown organic acid in order to make
a proper identification of the acid, while learning proper techniques for scientific
measurement and analysis of error.
In order to ensure the most accurate data, a purification was performed by the
process of recrystallization. To perform the recrystallization the powder was
dissolved in a minimal amount of hot ethanol/H2O solvent that allowed the unknown
powder to crystallize properly when cooled. This process allowed for the removal of
soluble impurities when suction filtered. A sample of the unknown acidwas weighed
at 8.24 g, and it was found that 164ml of a 40% ethanol, 60% H20 solvent dissolved
the 8.24 g of unknown acid when heated. The ... Show more content on

Phenolphthalein was used as an endpoint indicator to determine the molarity of the
NaOH solution, which was found to be approximately .0979 M. The data collected
from the titration follows in the table below.
NaOH Titration
Trial I II III
Mass KHP (g) .403 .402 .411
Final NaOH 21.02mL 41.04mL 30.01mL
Initial NaOH .89mL 21.02mL 9.50mL
Volume NaOH Total 20.13mL 20.02mL 20.60mL
Molarity NaOH .0980 M .0980 M .0977 M
The molarity of each trial was found using the formula below; following the formula
is a sample calculation:
Molarity of NaOH Solution = Mass KHP (g) / [(204.34 g/mole) x (Delivered NaOH
(ml)]
.403g /[(204.24g/mole)x(0.02013L)] = .0980 moles/liter
To ensure the best possible data, the error of the collected data was determined. This
error was found to be: (9.80 9.77)/9.77 = .003 x 100% = .31% error.
The equivalent weight of the unknown was determined by titration with NaOH. By
discovering the amount of NaOH required to react with the unknown acid, it was
possible to determine the equivalent weight of 98.4 g/mole. Three samples of the
pure unknown acid were weighed at .403g, .406g, and .394g. Each sample was
placed in a flask and dissolved in approximately 40 50mL of the heated solvent used
in the recrystallization (40% ethanol/60% H2O). A drop of Phenolphthalein was
added to each flask. Each flask was titrated with the standardized
The Black Of The Tuskegee Institute
Black educators began to increase their involvement in political culture in Haiti
through advocacy and education. American educators R.R. Moton and W.T.B
Williams of the Tuskegee Institute sought more black involvement in U.S. Haitian
relations. Moton served as Booker T. Washington s successor at the Tuskegee
Institute. He felt a duty to continue Washingtons vision of industrial education for
blacks and sought to extend the Tuskegee model into Haiti. He urged President
Harding to include blacks on his investigation body declaring he could suggest
colored men who would in no way embarrass the administration. Moton fell short;
Harding did not appoint a black American to the body. However, Moton left an
indelible mark on Washington.
The Department of State invited Moton to an independent trip to Haiti , but he could
not attend; Williams replaced him. In a confidential letter, Secretary of State Charles
Evans Hughes discussed the prospect of Williams trip with General Russell, Hughes
remarked that Williams needed the approval of President Borno to determine
whether he would be an acceptable replacement for Moton, worthy of the Haitian
government. Hughes continued and claimed Haitians prefer a white man to a Negro
for work in Haiti as the former has more influence and authority. His confidential
statement alluded to the lack of Black political presence in Haiti and the repudiation
of Black political presence in Haiti. However, it also highlighted that the Harding
Essay on Optimism and Personality Trait
Optimism could be considered a condition of the mind that makes one believe that
the best things will always happen to them. A common idiom used to illustrate
optimism versus pessimism is a glass with water at the halfway point, where the
optimist is said to see the glass as half full, but the pessimist sees the glass as half
empty. Optimists tend to see adversity as temporary; more specifically they view the
obstacle as limited to the situation and not generalized.
1) How does the personality trait develop in humans? Where does it appear to come
from? (20 pts)
According to Alan Carr, author of Positive Psychology: The Science of Happiness and
Human Strengths, the development of optimism may be determined by parental
mental health, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents also reinforce optimism and perseverance by encouraging their children to
deal with any type of obstacle in a positive way. Life is full of hurdles but it s the
way we deal with these difficulties that shape our expectations of things.
2) What purpose or function does the trait appear to serve? (20 pts)
Optimism can be a powerful tool to motivate people to do things that we might
have reservations about. Humans have the intellectual power to look ahead and
anticipate any likely outcomes. In our everyday lives we take on numerous tasks a
throughout our live whether it is studying for finals, starting a new project at work
or starting a new diet. An article by Annie Paul in Psychology Today gave the
example of how even an ordinary effort like going on a diet can benefit from dose
of optimism. A review of dieting studies show that more than two thirds of dieters
gain back more weight than they initially thought. With such a grim outlook on
dieting, optimism gives people the much needed motivation to believe that their goal
is achievable (Paul 2011). If you stopped and took a minute to think about how much
work you had to put in or how much of a risk you could be taking, you might never
even make the attempt. Optimism has such a commanding force that it has the ability
to convince you that things will work out just long enough to take the step forward
and make an effort to accomplish that task. For example, a student in medical school
will put a tremendous amount

Similarities And Differences Between Ancient And...
There are subtle stylistic differences that occur in the Piombino Apollo that make it
more advanced than the archaic kouros, which lead many scholars to distinguish this
statue as Hellenistic rather than Archaic. The modelling of the back is one of the
biggest alterations that occurs between actual kouros from the archaic period and the
Piombino Apollo. The back of the statue is much more artistically advanced than the
front regarding modelling (Ridgway 1967: 48). The subtle modelling of the
muscular structures and ridges of the spine of the back suggest the desired realism
of the Hellenistic era, instead of the basic and ridged idealized form found in the
archaic period (Ridgway 1967: 48). More subtle differences between a true archaic
sculpture and a retrograded Hellenistic sculpture are also present in this statue in
other areas, such as the feet. On most kouros, the feet are high arched, but on the
Piombino Apollo, they are small and flat (Ridgway 1967: 49). Also the toes are a
discrepancy between the two eras. Usually archaic statues have [the toes] aligned
with the central part of the other foot (Ridgway 1967: 49) in a very geometric
fashion. However, the toes on the right foot of the Apollo do not align with the
middle of the left foot, and instead align with the left heel (Ridgway 1967: 49). As
stated earlier, the hair is a defining feature in archaic kouros and it is typically flat
and in a bulky beaded shape to best attempt to represent the different
Essay on The Fight to Legalize Marijuana
The Fight to Legalize Marijuana
Marijuana is probably the most recreational and illegal drug in the world. The most
significant ingredient is delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinal, it is commonly referred to it
abbreviated form THC. This drug should not be legalized because it would lead to
hard core drugs, there would be an increase in obesity, and it affects the heart, lungs
and the brain. There are legal, social, and medical reasons that marijuana should not
be decriminalized.
Some legal reasons that marijuana shouldn t be decriminalized are it would lead to
experimenting with more hard core drugs such as heroin and cocaine. It will also
increase in crime and car accidents because it would be harder to determine if a

Some medical reasons that marijuana shouldn t be decriminalized are that it has long
and short terms effects. Examples of the short term outcomes include memory loss,
difficulty with thinking, loss of motor skills and increased heart rate. According to
the National Institutes of Health show that someone smoking about five joints per
week is taking in as many cancer causing chemicals as someone smoking a pack of
cigarettes every day. There is no science proof that smoked marijuana can be used for
medication. Since cannabis plants are polluted with a range of fungal spores, smoking
marijuana may increase the risk of infectious organisms. Taradiff, J. Marijuana and

The Drug Enforcement Administration situations on fighting to legalize medical
marijuana are based on two proposals: the scientific field views marijuana as a
treatment while the DEA targets sick and dying people using the drug. Neither
suggestion is true, science proved it is not medicine and it is not safe to use. The
DEA targets on criminal trafficking and not the sick and dying. In 1970 congress
authorized laws against marijuana based on that there is no logically proven medical
value. Like the Food and Drug Administration, which is responsible for authorizing
drugs safe an effective medicine has declined to approve smoked marijuana for any
circumstance or disease.

Reputation, Reputations, And Importanced By William...
Reputations
The reputations as described by William Shakespeare are the immortal part of one s
self. It is also almost all the time based on the person s actions and doings. Take this
quote for an example: It takes twenty years to build a reputation and five minutes to
ruin it. If you think about that, you will do things differently Warren Buffett.
I think now we can all easily agree on what this quote says. Thus, it is believed that
people with good reputations have it better in life than the ones who have bad
reputations. Now, talking about reputations in general, we can safely say that
besides being judged based on what your reputation says about you, it can as well
affect job opportunities, having a life partner and the chances of making friends can
decrease or increase whether in a positive or a negative way. Meanwhile when talking
about reputations in particular it can mean more than just making friends . Some
famous historical figure s reputations precede them in their life and death. You will
be introduced to the very famous figure of the dictatorial Josef Stalin. ... Show more

Was he really good or bad? Was his reputation shaped by the bloody nature of his
leadership and him considered as a war leader? Other famous historical figure s
reputations such as Cleopatra, Saddam Hussein, and Adolf Hitler are shaped by how
the people viewed them, some did not like them and others surprisingly loved them
and still love them until our day, and Stalin of course is one of them. We can easily
figure out how and why Stalin is a myth. I will be pointing out the obvious by
saying that the first metro line of Moscow was constructed under his rule, he won
the vicious was against The Germans with a great leader as Hitler himself and
finally winning The Great Patriotic War. Not forgetting to mention that he was seen
as a creator of a new society as a result of industrialization and economic
Sociology Of The Family Class
This Sociology of the Family class has been an eye opening experience. My views
of the United States have been impacted by an objective comparison of their
policies to those of other nations. I have learned that my own experiences growing
up impacted me beyond how they did directly at the time they happened. Finally, the
most dramatic of all was seeing how my own socialization has impacted the way I
viewed the world. It is not unusual for a patriotic American to say that the United
Statesis the greatest country in the world. An unbiased view of the policies of the
US as compared to those of other countries might contradict that opinion. The
teenage birthrate is the highest of all the developed nations, including twice as
high as Canada and the UK and 12 times as high as Japan (Seccombe, 2012).
Policies in the United States concerning family are grossly under supportive when
compared to those in Sweden, France, or Norway (Seccombe, 2012). Ideas of the
American Dream are sadly diminished when one views the facts in relation to
social mobility it is unlikely that one will simply pull themselves up by their
bootstraps to become a billionaire after being raised in a economically poor family.
The events of our childhood impact us in ways that neither we nor our parents had
imagined. Children of divorce suffer from long term effects, including depression,
fear of commitment, and/or behavioral problems (Seccombe, 2012). Children who
are spanked also have been

Idealism And Realism In International Relations
In the fields of International Relations, there are two important theories, idealism
and realism. They are two contrasting and competing approaches in study of
international relations. Idealism is what could be , planning the world as what
they wish for it to become. Realism is what actually is , seeing the world as it
actually is. People may ask, which one is more preferable? Though it s a decision
of one s own perception that will never come to a correct answer, I argue that realism
is more preferential because peace that idealists promote isn t applicable for
everything in this complicated world, making idealism too normative.
Idealism in general, highlights peace as a central theme. The main point of idealism
is improving the society by eliminating war, violence, hunger, inequality and use of
force. Therefore, idealists argue that war should be abolished and wish to reform the
community through an emphasis eliminating all bad behaviours. They believe doing
what s right is more preferred than doing what s in national interest. They also
emphasize that the society will become better when people are working for common
goals in the nation. Idealism have a strong sense of removing the evil . Idealists are
optimistic about human nature, and wish for the international relations cycle to be
peaceful and free from conflict. Some famous idealist thinkers are, John Stuart Mill,
Immanuel Kant, and Woodrow Wilson. A suitable example would Woodrow Wilson

Chest Wall Movement Essay
AS is a disease that limits chest wall flexibility through inflammation of the
costovertebral, sternocostal and intervertebral joints. Manubriosternal and
sternoclavicular joints may also be involved and although less important
mechanically, can contribute to limitation of chest wall movement due to pain. AS
involves the axial skeleton first then the anterior chest wall. The restriction of
movement along with hyperinflation leads to decreased exercise tolerance, muscle
fatigue, limited aerobic capacity and eventually deconditioning. This will lead to
decreased diaphragmatic excursion, diaphragmatic weakness, trunk/core muscle
weakness and a limited ZOA.32 Donath Osteoporosis

Assessment of the entire abdominal wall, rib cage and breathing mechanics should
therefore be a part of every pelvic floor/pelvic pain evaluation.38 Thompson Patients
with LBP have been found to breathe shallowly during an active straight leg raise
test. They also were found to have increased descent of the pelvic floor during
ultrasound imaging throughout the same test. When external force closure was
applied at the ilia, tidal volume increased and descent of the pelvic floor was reduced.
Therefore the synergistic activity of the muscles about the pressurized canister is
necessary for breathing, maintaining continence and preventing pain.35Hodges and
Sap Pregnancy
The growing uterus during pregnancy changes the mechanics throughout the trunk.
The diaphragm can be elevated 5 cm. As the diaphragm moves superiorly, it
lengthens which improves its ability to generate tension. The widening rib cage
increases the diaphragms radius of curvature and the area of the ZOA. Due to this
increased area of apposition, the abdominal pressure generated by the diaphragmatic
contraction influences mainly the lower ribs. The ribcage then elevates and expands
where it is apposed to the diaphragm. This is necessary in order to maintain total lung
volume. The infrasternal angle can increase from 68.5Лљ to 103.5Лљ by term.39,40

Stereotypes Of Wonder Women
In what ways does Pattie Jenkins 2017 Wonder Woman eschew superhero stereotypes
and present a strong female narrative?
Although superhero movies have become some of the most popular and successful
movie instalments of the 21st century most of these movies have been about men and
focused on their trials and triumphs while also creating and perpetrating negative
stereotypes of women. The female superhero movie falls into one of three categories:
the victim, the tomboy and the bombshell. In the first category the victim constantly
finds herself at the centre of trouble and requires the main man in the movie to
swoop in and save her, she is a passive and weak character. The bombshell tends to be

The male characters in the movie support and help Diana but at no point do they

Channing House is a retirement centre in Palo Alto, California. The data set
channing is taken from Klein and Moeschberger (2003). It consists of the ages (in
months) of 462 elderly individuals (97 males and 365 females) who were resident at
the retirement centre during the period January 1964 to July 1975 when they died or
left the centre, as well as the ages (in months) at which the individuals entered the
retirement community. The gender of the individuals (coded: Male=1 and
Female=2) is also included in the dataset. The interest for this study lies in the life
times of the individuals. Over the time of the study 130 women and 46 men died at

Human Trafficking Thesis
Human trafficking is a world wide problem, many victims with different

Factory owners and farm workers can also be charged as human traffickers for
overworking and underpaying illegal immigrants. This applies to wealthy people
as well, who have domestic workers who might be working and living with them
as pretty much slaves. Forced labor and services is labor that is done by a worker
through force, fraud, duress or any conduct that is against the person s will. In
order for these clothing and textile factories to survive in a competitive industry,
they must give their employees low wages, due to the international minimum labor
cost. For example, in 2006 a thai welding company was closed down due to having
48 workers working long hour days with very minimum pay. One worker shared
his story on how he was forced to work at a Long Beach restaurant for 13 hours a
day for three months, only earning nearly $220 in total.(articles.latimes.com) I
believe since California is a big state and has nearly 2.6 million illegal immigrants,
it makes it a big target for human traffickers to intimidate people to work for them.
Illegal Immigrants will not speak up sometimes because of fear. The human
trafficking numbers can be lower than they should probably be from all the cases that
do not go accounted for. In 2013, Forced labor in San Diego of spanish speaking

Questions On Primary Health Care
Primary health care, supports and help individuals to make the most important
decision of their health because of the advice they receive from different health care
professionals who have the right skills to provide that supports. (Sinclair, Rochon,
Leatt,2005).With the level and accessibility of specialized health care professionals,
individuals re able to manage their chronicdisease, and their needs are being meet.
Cost is a very important reason as well. Health care cost is rising due to various
reasons, and primary care services add up to that cost. According to Aggarwal
Hutchison (2012), Canadians has the highest frequency usage of the emergency
departments compare to other Commonwealth countries
The fee for service does not allow physicians to spend optimal time with their patient,
educating them about diseases, chronic illnesses and understanding the social
determinants of health which is to maintain the health of the population (Rose
Kasperski,(1999) . Fee for service payment is based on how many patients the
physicians can see and it does not reimburse the amount of time a physician can
spend with a patient. The practice that most physicians undertake is based on acute
disease management instead of chronic disease management. The issue is that the
move from fee for service is not endorsed by provincial medical associations. The
provincial medical associations is the middle man bargaining group for Canadian

Sitting in a classroom for a certain number of hours does not make one well educated
(Kohn). Throughout the school day of an average high school for example how much
time do you actual spend learning? An average school day is around seven hours
with about nine periods dividing up the day. If each period is around forty minutes
with five minutes to get to your classes you spend almost an hour in between
periods getting from one class to another throughout the course of a day. You have
about forty minutes for lunch, a study hall or sometimes two and some kind of
elective like gym or art. That s not much time left for actually learning anything
useful. When I was in middle school I remember my teachers wasting almost half
of the period explaining in detail what we would be doing for the day instead of
actually doing it. If the time you spent at school measures how well you re educated
than it s not a very good measurement to go on. If the time you spent in school meant
you are well educated then you can easily agree that every student is well educated
and we know that s not the

As Rogers and Ellis both established core conditions in their theories. Rogers argued

Rogers developed six core conditions, I only emphasis on empathic understanding,

Research Paper On Carbohydrates
Low carb meals are defined as meals that have low amounts of carbohydrates per
serving. Frequently, individuals assume the lower, the better, but in the case of this
form of diet, it is best to focus on the proper amount of carbs. The reason for this is
that carbohydrates are necessary to the body from the viewpoint of nutritionand
health.
To comprehend this better, it is a great idea to discover how carbs are processed by
the human body. Food items like rice, grains, pasta, and bananas consist of
substantial amounts of carbohydrates. When people eat these foods, the starch is
converted into glucose. Most of this is utilized through the body as energy. Excess
energy will be changed into glycogen and stored by the body.
It is important to note that the body has a constant need for glucose. It is also
important to note that carbohydrates are not necessarily bad for the system in all
cases. As long as people have the correct quantity in their diets, this cannot really
become a problem. Once again, some kind of workout is also needed to work off
some of the extra carbs in the system. When anyone take in much more of this
substance than their bodies need, some of the excess will be kept as fat and this is
where carbs may become an issue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, all carbohydrates are not good for the system. Some can be considered
excellent while others can be viewed as bad. Complex carbohydrates are the good
ones. It is because these carbohydrates are full of nutritional value and also contain

rice are great sources of complex

Summary Of Hercules 12 Labors
The 12 Labors of Hercules
Hercules was assigned 12 Labors by Eurystheus to prove that he was the son of the
God Zeus. Alcmene, Hercules mother, was a mortal as was Hercules ( Hercules
and His Twelve Labors ). He exemplified heroism and bravery, envied by his own
cousin Eurystheus and his father s wife Juno. That is why Hercules was given the 12
labors.
Juno who is most hostile to children , sends two snakes to kill young Hercules
while he slept in his crib. Instead of screaming, Hercules strangles the two serpents
playfully, thinking they were toys (Genovese). As he grows older more of his
strength starts to show and he starts to achieve more goals such as killing a lion
single handedly and partaking in the war. This soon resulted in envy from Juno and
Eurystheus. Juno reports this to Eurystheus, and demand that he give Hercules the 12

This labor is where Juno sends a lion to a town to eat the people of Nemea. Hercules
can t use his bow to kill the lion because his bow is not narrow enough to pierce the

as a symbol of protection.
The second Labor given was the Lernaean Hydra . The Lernaean Hydra was a
creature who lived in a swamp with odors so strong that it killed anyone or
anything that dared to smell it . Therefore , Hercules slices his head but for every
head he cut off two more appeared . He soon got a flaming brand from a friend and

When Art Imitates Art
Music and Literature On an everyday basis the world around us offers us a great
deal of information and variety, of enlightening art and the dumbing down
entertainment. Many people have fallen into the trap of dismissing anything that
is not considered fine art as culturally and intellectually inferior. The restrictive
nature of this approach leaves us with an elitist viewpoint and a sense of
supremacy. And when talking about supremacy, whether it is white, black or even
cultural, it is in no way something positive. Albeit, it is difficult to control the
feeling of superiority when talking to someone who genuinely loves and admires
singers with lyrics like: Been around the world, don t speak the language. But your
booty don t need explaining. Still, it is important to keep in mind that even Jason
Derulo and Virginia Woolf have something in common, the origins of their means
of expression. It is practically certain that music and literature, usually combined
with dance, arose as a single activity long before the concept of an art existed. In
later stages of history, the connections between the musical and literary arts have
varied from nation to nation and period to period. (...) As soon as the arts of music
and literature began to draw apart, the possibility of one s influencing the other
arose. If we believe that art is an imitation of life, then music and literature are equal
in that as they can both give imaginative and true depictions of life. And every so

Pride In Cantos 7-12
In Cantos 7 12, there were many times when the vice of pride was mentioned. For
Aquinas, he does not list pride as a capital sin because he believes it is the general
influence to all vices or the queen of all vices. Pride can also be described as the
beginning of all sins : aversion from God, which is the formal complement of sin,
belongs to pride essentially, and to other sins, consequently. Hence it is that pride
fulfils the conditions of a first thing, and is the beginning of all sins (q. 162, a. 7).
Pride can be seen as a root cause of other vices, which is why it is not listed in the
capital vices; it can be linked to all the vices. In Canto 12, the Pilgrim was telling
Virgil how he feels lighter than at the beginning and Virgil

Film Analysis Of Bicycle Thieves
Bicycle Thieves, set in economically devastated post war Italy, where thieves
burgeon. Vittorio de Sica emphasized the daily struggles of ordinary people as a
key concern of Italian neo realist directors, who wished to portray reality in a more
faithful manner than the era s dominant escapist studio product, whether it came
from Hollywood or Italy s own Cinecitta (Steffen). Most directors during that time,
portrayed the plight of the everyday Italian with rose tinted glasses, distracting
from the real issues that they were facing every day. De Sica set out to show the
opposite while in Europe, the searching self examination provoked by a devastating
war and the revelation of Hitler s death camps implicated an entire culture,
includ[ed] a cinema of complicity and vain distraction, typified in Italy by the white
telephone farces and historical super spectacles of the 1930 s (Cheshire). Both
movies though from very different time periods set out to reveal the flaws in the
system against everyday people. There Will Be Blood had no real social impact in
American cinematography, but Bicycle Thieves, on the other hand, set a reminder
that a whole world exists outside the movie theater, to which our conscience and
humanity requires us to pay attention.
There Will Be Blood is an epic film depicting vast landscapes in very thematic shots,
while Bicycle Thieves is a budget film shot in real locations with untrained actors.
Bicycle Thieves presents Antonio as a good man which

Each of these products can be produced in either of two plants. For administrative
reasons, management has imposed a second restriction in this regard. Just one of
the two plants should be chosen to be sole producer of the new products. The
production cost per unit of each product would be essentially the same in the two
plants. However, because of differences in their production facilities, the number of
the hours of production time needed per unit of each product might differ between
the two plants. These data are given in the table below, including marketing
estimate of the number of units of each product that could be sold per week. The
objective is to choose the products, the plant and the production rates so as to
maximize the profit. Production Time Used for each unit Product 1 Product 2 3h

The Reader, By Bernhard Schlink, And Was Later
Developed...
The Reader is a romantic drama text written by Bernhard Schlink, and was later
developed into a film directed by Stephen Daltry. At the beginning of the film, the
audience is introduced to a young, sick boy who is struggling to get home in the
pouring rain. In this scene, Michael is introduced to Hanna Schmitz, a middle aged
womanwho helps him back to his home. Michael recalls, When rescue came, it was
almost an assault. The woman seized my arm and pulled me through the dark
entryway into the courtyard (4). Hanna is quite cold towards Michael, and as he
continues to pursue her throughout the story, their interactions form a unique
dynamic. In The Reader, both the author and director make the audiencesympathize

Michael is falling in love with Hanna, but it appears as though she is using him for
sexual favors and attention. Michael becomes so infatuated, he says, She came
home at noon, and I cut my last class every day so as to be waiting for her on the
landing outside her apartment (32). The audience is shown that Michael s
relationship with Hanna is beginning to take a negative toll on him, and he is
oblivious to it. Here, it seems like Michael is blind to the rest of the world and can
only see Hanna. He is losing his innocence, and instead of being at school learning
and socializing with his peers, he is cutting class to have sexual encounters with a
middle aged woman. This is frustrating to the audience, as they wish to be able to
guide him and correct his poor decision making.
Michael develops a routine with Hanna. One early morning when Hanna is working,
Michael wakes up and makes his way to the streetcar that she works on. Michael
finds the streetcar that Hanna is working on, but she ignores him. This fuels an
argument between the two characters. Michael admits that Hanna treated him poorly
when he says, I sat down on the sofa. She had treated me badly and I had wanted to
call her on it. But I hadn t got through to her. Instead, she was the one who d attacked
me (48). The relationship that Hanna has encouraged with Michael
Classical Theory Vs Strain Theory Essay
Key Characteristics
Both classical theory and strain theory are widely known and established theories that
although have similar goals are vastly difference in terms of their key characteristics.
Classical theory was developed in the 18th century during the enlightenment era and
is the foundation of the classical school of criminology (Clinard and Meier, 2008, p65
67). Classical theory is the theory that individuals are self seeking rational actors
who under their own free will commit crimes after weighing up to pros and cons of
the situation (Loughran et al. 2016, para 4; White, Haines and Asquith, 2012, p28
31). This theory takes an individualist approach to explaining CCB that sees
individuals as rights holders who have the equal capacity to make rational choices
and focuses on the criminal act rather than the offender (White, Haines and ... Show

The theory believes the most appropriate response to crime is through swift and
punitive punishment based on the pleasure pain principle and see punishment as the
key mechanism to preventing crime, arguing that if punishment is swift, just and
certain both the individual (specific deterrence) and society members (general
deterrence) will be deterred from committing crime (Akers, 1990, p654 659). Strain
theory, on the other hand, is an adaption of Durkheim s anomie theory and
branches off sociological positivism (Brezina, 2011, p99 103). Strain theory is the
theory that society pressures individuals to achieve socially acceptable goals (SAG),
and when individuals cannot reach these goals due to lack of means (e.g. poverty),
individuals experience a strain and turns to crime (White, Haines and Asquith, 2012,
p67 71; Walters, 2010, p316). This theory takes a sociological approach to explaining
CCB that sees social strains and inadequate structural opportunities to blame for crime
and highlights that individuals are not equal in their capacity to make rational
choices (Clinard and

After a time, the existence of subnormal profits would cause firms to leave the
industry. Supply would fall and prices rise. Hence long run equilibrium is one of
normal profits only.
Perfect Competition Long Run
[pic]
Advantages of perfect competition
Because firms produce where MC=MR=Price, allocative efficiency is achieved.
Productive efficiency is also achieved because the firm produces at the lowest point
of the AC curve.
Prices are lower because of increased competition.
Because of perfect knowledge firms must keep up to date and innovate or they will
be forced to leave the industry.
In the long run all firms will earn normal profits.
Cartels and other restrictive agreements cannot emerge to exploit consumers.
Perfect competition can be used as a model in economic analysis.
Disadvantages of perfect competition
Firms have little time to benefit from inventions because they quickly enter the public
domain.
Since firms make only normal profits they might not have the funds to undertake
expensive research that often yields the most outstanding discoveries.
Firms might not benefit from economies of large scale production.
In order to prevent abuse of the consumer, some industries are best run by the state as
natural monopolies and so perfect competition would be inappropriate.
Perfect competition is a goal that cannot be reached in the real world.

What I Want Out Of Life And College
People are categorized all their life by themselves, their peers, and strangers. Each
person is put in a category based on race, age, gender, etc.. In Circles of My
Multicultural Self, I put twelve different identifiers and descriptors that defines who I
am right now. They are the following: middle class, complex, hard worker/driven,
agnostic, girlfriend, generous/kind, athletic, adopted, female, futurecounseling
psychologist, and Asian (Korean). The three most impactful identifiers and
descriptors are complex, girlfriend, and hard worker/driven. Complex is mostly
due to what has been going on in my life, and it describes how my personality,
Girlfriend describes one of the most relevant events that is going in my life. Hard
worker/driven goes hand in hand together as it allows me to focus on what I want
out of life and college.
Complex is the most impactful right now. The reason I ranked complex as number
one is due to the fact it is the core essence of me. It explains my personality and my
past. My personality can range to completely bubbly to stoic and quiet. It depends
on who I am with and where I am. I m one those people who don t open up that
much. I like to stay private with a lot of my issues whether if something is bothering
me or if I m really stressed out about something. Because of this, I usually act like
nothing s bothering me most of the time. It is putting on a mask or a forefront as I
like to handle it by myself. My past is also complex. One of
Causes Of College Dropout Rates
College Drop Out Rates A major subject that has been brought up by students,
parents, reporters etc. is the phenomenon of high student dropout rates in U.S.
colleges. Many students over the last few years have changed their majors, and
eventually dropped their education in college and went out to find jobs, but we
have to consider the causes that led them to do something like that. On the other
hand, there are people who that think that this phenomenon is not as a great deal
as people make it and that the dropout rates in U.S. colleges is not that high. In
order to get a better understanding of this subject, I have found three sources that
can prove that the phenomenon of high student dropout rates in U.S. colleges is a
true issue and the causes, which are three main things: anxiety, student debts and
financial success. First things that we have to check why students dropout rates
has increased over the last years so much is due to the cause of anxiety. The main
problem that arise from anxiety is that it will follow people for the rest of their
lives and have a great effect on what they want to do in their lives, the only way to
solve this problem is by visiting a doctor, and potentially for a prolonged period of
time. According to Ronald A. et al. , their research show that students have a
monthly income from their jobs of $595.52 and that their student loans could reach
up to $16,456.56 and scoring a mean anxiety score of 19.34 (3). We can clearly see
that the student
The Representation Of The Female Body
Our identity is what makes us human beings. People question their identity as it
defines them or is it merely society labeling them. However, a female s identity
deals with sexist advertising is questioned a great deal. The representation of the
female body in popular advertisement is typically shown to be vulgar, it is known as
their identity to look at a certain image for the male population to draw their
attention. In the early 1900s, women did not have to be half naked to get attention
from the media. They could have got attention by being fully clothed. In the 2000s
time has changed and the advertisements have changed. The media portrays the
women to be this way, is this really their identity?
Socially this is unacceptable for women and young teens questioning their femininity.
In a recent article Many Advertisements Are Sexist the author believes the viewpoint
of women in magazines, advertisements, commercials, and campaigns are
stereotyping women to be sexual. Sexist advertisements continue to use female
nudity to promote products. These advertisements that downgrade woman are
promoting items using seductive and attractive techniques to attract the opposite sex.
It causes a psychological impact on these women and young girls who are watching
the advertisements, because of the unrealistic expectations, which result of body
image problems and sexual violence (Ballaro and Wagner).
Many forms of media such as magazines, billboards, campaigns and advertisements
benefit
The Farming Of Bones Poverty Quotes
The Pain of Massacre and Poverty In her novel, The Farming of Bones, Edwidge
Danticat creates scenes of personal trauma in Tibon s description of his capture and
Amabelle s beating. Danticat does an excellent job of humanizing the horrors of a
general massacre through the development of specific characters. The painful
memories that Danticat composes are extremely similar to Frank McCourt s
remembrances in his memoir, Angela Ashes, where he retells his childhood in
extreme poverty. Danticat writes two absolutely horrific scenes that Amabelle
encounters during her travels into Haiti. Amabelle and Sebastien, her future husband,
lose contact when they are separated by the Parsley Massacre. Amabelle is most
troubled by the idea that she does... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most thought provoking scene in the novel was the death of his sister
Margaret: Dad has the whiskey smell. The doctor examines the baby [...] She s
gone. Mam stays in the bed all day, hardly moving. Malachy [Jr] and I fill the twins
bottles with water and sugar. The twins are hungry [...] I boil sour milk in a pot,
mash in some of the stale bread, and try to feed them from a cup. They make faces
and run to Mam s bed, crying (McCourt). As a result of the father spending the
family s money on beer, the family suffers from malnourishment leaving the
children to find their own food. Even after the death of his own daughter, Malachy
is nowhere to be found, providing no signs of regret or of encouragement to his
wife and family. The most striking part of this image to me is that the twins are
drinking water and sugar rather than milk in their bottles. Because milk is so
commonplace, I had never envisioned it would be too expensive for an American
child to afford. These two novels evoke extreme emotions of hardship and adversity
that cause the reader to recognize the ills in society that they may not have fully
High-Stakes Testing
High Stakes Testing is used to determine whether the students are being taught well
by the teacher. This test is important because it will decide if the students has met all
the demands required to graduate school. High Stakes Testing will make education
better because this test will be a good way to view all the scores from the students
and seeing which students are in need to academically improve more and the students
that does not need improvements at all. This test will give them an idea of how many
efforts they should put into to help the students obtain their education. According to
Jay P. Greene, Margaret Raymond and Eric Hanushek of Stanford University have
demonstrated that states with high stakes tests made better test improvements.
Antoine Lavoisier Research Paper
Why Lavoisier is famous:
Antoine Lavoisier revolutionized chemistry. He named the elements carbon,
hydrogen and oxygen; discovered oxygen s role in combustion and respiration;
established that water is a compound of hydrogen and oxygen; discovered that sulfur
is an element, and helped continue the transformation of chemistry from a qualitative
science into a quantitative one. He created a new form of nomenclature which is the
skeleton of today s Periodic Table, and he famously proved the theory of phlogiston
incorrect and replaced it with the law of conservation of mass and his theory of
oxygenation (Holmes, introduction).

defined, with Lavoisier asserting that ... in every operation an equal quantity of matter

Target Market And Retail Policies Of Completely Different...
Before I start to talk about target market and retail policies of completely different
fashion retailers,
I would like you to answer these following questions:
1. How old are you?
2. What part of the country are you from?
3. What is your monthly income, and your monthly outgoings?
4. What jobs do you parents hold?
5. What type of school did you go to?
6. How often do you buy a new outfit?
7. How much do you spend on new clothes?
8. Would you say ethical and environmental concerns are a priority to you?
These constitute only a very few of the questions that marketing executives are trying
to discern about you, in order to create the type of fashion retail brand that gets you
hot under the collar and itching to go shopping. Of course, you instinctively know
that fashion retailers like Primark and Gucci are a world apart (not counting the ironic
title of Primani that has now been applied to our most ubiquitous of high street
retailers...). But do you know precisely who these companies are targeting in an
attempt to increase footfall through their doors? Are YOU a marketing goldmine for
fashion retailers?
Perhaps your answer to that last question is of course I am! More people means
more money, right? Not always. You might be surprised to find that many
companies simply don t want you. Take Gucci for example. Very early on in the
game, Gucci decided that more people didn t mean more money and engaged in a
strong exercise in market segmentation. If all

Agrumentative Essay

  • 1. Agrumentative Essay Writing an argumentative essay can be a challenging task that demands a combination of critical thinking, research skills, and persuasive writing abilities. Crafting a well-structured and compelling argument requires a thorough understanding of the topic, a keen awareness of different perspectives, and the ability to present evidence effectively. One of the initial challenges is selecting a suitable topic that is both interesting and debatable. Once the topic is chosen, extensive research is essential to gather relevant information, statistics, and examples to support your claims. The process of sifting through various sources and synthesizing information can be time-consuming and requires a discerning eye to distinguish credible sources from unreliable ones. Organizing the essay poses another set of challenges. Developing a clear thesis statement that encapsulates the main argument and constructing a logical flow of ideas can be intricate. Ensuring coherence and maintaining a balance between different sections of the essay are crucial for conveying a persuasive and well-rounded argument. Moreover, addressing counterarguments and refuting opposing viewpoints is an integral part of an argumentative essay. This requires anticipating potential objections and providing evidence or reasoning to counteract them. Striking the right balance between assertiveness and openness to alternative perspectives is a delicate task that requires finesse. The actual process of writing, refining, and polishing the essay also demands attention to detail and a mastery of language. Clarity, conciseness, and precision are essential to convey ideas effectively. Crafting a strong conclusion that reinforces the main argument without introducing new information is another aspect that requires careful consideration. In conclusion, writing an argumentative essay is a multifaceted process that challenges one's research, analytical, and writing skills. However, with dedication and a systematic approach, it is possible to overcome these challenges and produce a compelling piece of writing that persuades and informs. If you find yourself struggling, remember that assistance is available. • 2. Children Of Men Analysis Children of Men and The Road on the Ethics of Survival In films depicting worldwide disaster, the audience is shown the lengths the protagonists will go in order to survive. While doing so, man s values are often put to the test and there is a drastic shift in ethics when human civilization has collapsed. This occurs in both Children of Men and The Road. Both films show its characters travel through various locations with the belief that they will be safer in a new and different environment, and the survivor s efforts to protect themselves from outside invaders, despite often crossing ethical boundaries. However, the two films differ in the extent to which its characters will go to do this. In Children of Men, ethicsof survival is crossed when the British government detains illegal refugees in their belief to protect its citizens. By doing so, it also raises the belief of superiority of beings, rather than coming together during a global catastrophe. In The Road, ethical boundaries are crossed both once food becomes scarce and a majority of the survivors resort to cannibalism in order to stay alive, and in a few situations where the main character finds himself in dire encounters. In Alfonso CuarГіn s Children of Men, civilizations have become victim to humaninfertility and for two decades, are unable to reproduce. As a result, the human population has decreased drastically and civilizations collapse. With Britain becoming one of the last functioning governments,
  • 3. The Weaknesses Of The Constitution here were many ways that the Constitution helped to change the weaknesses of the United States. It helps by making the laws easier to pass and more fair, along with different documents. The Articles of Confederation were obviously a flawed document if they needed to be changed into the Constitution, thus the Constitution is helping. The first way that the Constitution helped with the weaknesses of the United States were the different ways it made passing laws more fair. When amending a document the Articles of Confederationneeded 13 out of 13 people to approve of the document. The Constitution provided a more reasonable way by having в…” of both houses and Вѕ of the state legislature. This is a better method because not 100% of people are going to agree on everything. The same type of thing worked when passing laws. 9/13 people needed to approve in the Articles of Confederation while it s now 50% +1 of both houses plus the signature of the President. This allows for things to be more fair and it makes sure everyone in power somewhat agrees on what is going on and not just a couple of people are deciding on what the citizens new laws will be. The Constitution is a document that may make people feel equal and not like they re below some one else. One example of this is when Frederick Douglass stated that if you, abolish slavery tomorrow, and not a single sentence or syllable of the Constitution need to be altered. This is saying that the Constitution is a good document
  • 4. Plan to Improve Correctional Facilities Plan to Improve Correctional Facilities Week 5 Assignment 2 Some women in jail may have committed similar crimes as their male counterparts. Most women inmates live in the same conditions as men inmates do, yet women inmates face issues that are far more different than male inmates. The purpose of this paper is to point out some of the issues women inmates face in their everyday life in prison, and offer suggestions as to improve those issues. Overall, the population of women in the criminal justice system is the fastest growing (Ramirez, 2012). Women in prison have gone up over twenty percent and over fifteen percent in probation. Another staggering percentage is women arrested after getting out which is thirty percent of sixty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ensuring there are programs geared towards rehabilitating and healing rather than throwing the key away will improve the overall success of lowering incarcerated numbers and better enhancement reentry outcomes. Another recommendation for improvement in addition to improving living conditions for females in prison would be prison nursery programs. (Women s Prison Association, 2009) points out there are nine states currently participating in open prison nursery programs. There has also been discussion of allowing women who give birth to serve their prison sentence in a none prison setting. I think allowing women to serve prison sentences with small children in a non prison environment would improve the mental conditions of many women who are in prison. There can also be a work for system for women with children to work towards serving their time in a half way house with their children instead of spending their whole sentence alone. I think this will help with the mental side of not just mothers but children as well who need such nurturing. Granted not all recommendations are going to be met with cheers or thumbs up. As I said there are going to be naysayers who disapprove of such rash changes. I have to admit I use to be one of those people until I started reading more into what causes women to commit crimes and what happens to women when they are in prison. It s safe to say there needs to be changes for Week 5 Assignment 5 women in prison. From policies
  • 5. Archetype In Mean Girls This is girls world, all of the fightings had to be sneaky. Said by Lindsay Lohan in the movie, Mean Girls. The entertainment and fairytales stories have a tendency to have women going against each other. Cinderella has mainly had her stepmother and step sisters keeping her busy with chores for twenty four hours. While Rapunzel is stuck in a high tower alone because of a witch. Not only classic fairy tales have this pattern, but songs have this same formula. Notably, Taylor Swift is known for her bitter reputation of calling out her ex boyfriends, but also writes songs calling out women. Lastly, movies will show women fighting against each other for the comedy effect especially Mean Girls. In stories, women characters tend to destroy other female archetypes for power. The classic story of Cinderella has women degrading each other. She lives with her stepmother and stepsisters. After her father died, she became her slave to them. The archetype of the mother is that she is a witch. Her archetype is a witch because they tend to manipulate the princess badly. She abused Cinderella and later on tells her that she can not go to the ball. As for Cinderella, her archetype would be the princess. She is the princess because of acts like the damsel in distress. Cinderella is docile when her family bossing around. Her stepmother is controlling her freedom. Another example that is similar to Cinderella is Rapunzel. The story of Rapunzel is also a classic fairytale where a witch
  • 6. The Shawl, By Cynthia Ozick Between 1941 and 1945, over six million Jews were victims of the Holocaust, an attempt by the German Nazis to exterminate the Jewish race. (Holocaust The Basics ). Adolf Hitler, the leader of Germany, thought the Jews were the reason that Germany lost World War I (Jews in Nazi Germany History Learning Site). Hitler blamed them for almost all of Germany s problems and he wanted to exterminate the entire Jewish population. The Shawl , written by Cynthia Ozick, tells one of the many horrifying stories from the Holocaust. The story has three main characters: the young mother Rosa, her baby Magda, and her fourteen year old niece Stella. They were victims of the Holocaust who had an awful experience in the Nazi concentration camps. Whenever the holocaust victims had to march to different concentration camps, people who could not walk on their own in a line were shot on the spot, including infants. Rosa protects Magda by hiding her in a magic shawl, but Stella selfishly takes away the shawl, leading to Magda s death. Through the characters of Stella, Rosa, and Magda, Cynthia Ozick shows the desperation and inhumanity that resulted when the Holocaust victims were denied of their basic human rights. The Shawl is set late in World War II when the Allied forces were beginning to penetrate into Germany itself. During the Holocaust, the Nazis denied the Jewsbasic human rights, violating their rights to life, liberty, and property. Hitler said it was not enough for the Jews to
  • 7. Descriptive Essay On A Strip Club As part of the child custody agreement with Shane, every other weekend I was required to drive an hour south to exchange my youngest daughter with him. I once sat down and added up all the miles and money that had gone into driving that route back and forth, and realized I could have driven around the world and gotten a lovely vacation out it. But instead, it was just Bowling Green. Several years into this bi monthly drive, a new establishment opened up right off the highway, Club54, on the outskirts of Bowling Green. It was, amazingly enough, a strip club. Now over the years, I have taken a liking to strip clubs, I ve been in many, all over the country, but was actually quite surprised that this little tiny town, in the middle of nowhere now had one, and could not resist checking it out. Dropping off my daughter, and after the brief, cold exchange that always went with it, Billy and I jumped back into my car and headed for Bowling Green s newest attraction, eagerly excited to see what it had to offer. Pulling up into the almost empty parking lot, we paused to look over the white, windowless, nondescript, kinda shabby looking building, giving each other a questioning look about our life choices. With a shrug, I giggled as we jumped out of the car, hollering, To the nekid ladies! and Billy hooted his approval. Walking in the door, it was a bit ragged at that end, a dimly lit pool table off to the side, old worn down carpeting, and 70 s style decor. Beginning to wonder if
  • 8. Analysis Of By Wendell Berry The Recent Age, we are entering more of a modern era with globalization, technology, and freedom, which is caught between modernism and postmodernism. In the confusion between modernism and postmodernism, society is left to wonder what nature really is. In Remembering by Wendell Berry, we hear the story of Andy Catlett and his struggles, when he gets his hand chopped off in a corn picker. We are able to see how he gets passed his problem that is affecting his family as well, and he comes to realize he needs to get passed it. Nature helps to clarify the problem and the solution, which Catlett struggles with throughout the book. Andy Catlett s identity was lost as his hand was separated from him. He struggle to adapt to his new hand, His right hand had been the one with which he reached out to the world and attached himself to it. When he lost his hand, he lost his hold (Berry 23). He feels disconnected from everything and all he could do is remember how things use to be with his hand. He remembers working and being able to do anything he wanted, however now he struggles to connect with anyone even his wife. In various parts of the book is difficult to realize if he is remembering something or if he is discussing about his life now. Berry uses natural events to describe attitudes and feelings, Time and their lives flowed over them, like swift water over stones, rubbing them together, grinding off their edges, making them fit together (Berry 29). This blurs the boundaries

Although Marijuana is only legal in twenty five states in America, cannabis users are fighting for a legal law to be passed rectifying the use of marijuana in America. In The single most important pitfall to avoid with legalizing marijuana discusses the pros of marijuana, how it can change the market, growing cannabisproperly, create revenue and even aid a person s life. For example, the article discusses how medicinal marijuana is a considerable crossover between the two groups; the number of medical cards issued has dropped dramatically, he says, with patients and recreational customers

Its various forms and genres categorizes and divides the music country wise, ranging from initially Folk music as the base, moving on to Country music as a regions identity. The music gained enormous name and fame because of its hypnotizing effect on the singer and the listener. From Rock n Roll, evolving towards British invasion, music in 1960 s played a major role in evolution of UK.This evolution was brought up by the introduction of rock and roll, collaborating different races and changing the lifestyle thus transforming UK from a conservative country into the capital of the world. Chemistry lab report Essay The goal of the project was to characterize an unknown organic acid in order to make a proper identification of the acid, while learning proper techniques for scientific measurement and analysis of error. In order to ensure the most accurate data, a purification was performed by the process of recrystallization. To perform the recrystallization the powder was dissolved in a minimal amount of hot ethanol/H2O solvent that allowed the unknown powder to crystallize properly when cooled. This process allowed for the removal of soluble impurities when suction filtered. • 15. The Black Of The Tuskegee Institute Black educators began to increase their involvement in political culture in Haiti through advocacy and education. American educators R.R. Moton and W.T.B Williams of the Tuskegee Institute sought more black involvement in U.S. Haitian relations. Moton served as Booker T. Washington s successor at the Tuskegee Institute. He felt a duty to continue Washingtons vision of industrial education for blacks and sought to extend the Tuskegee model into Haiti. He urged President Harding to include blacks on his investigation body declaring he could suggest colored men who would in no way embarrass the administration. Moton fell short; Harding did not appoint a black American to the body. However, Moton left an indelible mark on Washington. The Department of State invited Moton to an independent trip to Haiti , but he could not attend; Williams replaced him. In a confidential letter, Secretary of State Charles Evans Hughes discussed the prospect of Williams trip with General Russell, Hughes remarked that Williams needed the approval of President Borno to determine whether he would be an acceptable replacement for Moton, worthy of the Haitian government. Hughes continued and claimed Haitians prefer a white man to a Negro for work in Haiti as the former has more influence and authority. His confidential statement alluded to the lack of Black political presence in Haiti and the repudiation of Black political presence in Haiti. However, it also highlighted that the Harding
  • 16. Essay on Optimism and Personality Trait Optimism could be considered a condition of the mind that makes one believe that the best things will always happen to them. A common idiom used to illustrate optimism versus pessimism is a glass with water at the halfway point, where the optimist is said to see the glass as half full, but the pessimist sees the glass as half empty. Optimists tend to see adversity as temporary; more specifically they view the obstacle as limited to the situation and not generalized. 1) How does the personality trait develop in humans? Life is full of hurdles but it s the way we deal with these difficulties that shape our expectations of things. 2) What purpose or function does the trait appear to serve? (20 pts) Optimism can be a powerful tool to motivate people to do things that we might have reservations about. Humans have the intellectual power to look ahead and anticipate any likely outcomes. In our everyday lives we take on numerous tasks a throughout our live whether it is studying for finals, starting a new project at work or starting a new diet. An article by Annie Paul in Psychology Today gave the example of how even an ordinary effort like going on a diet can benefit from dose of optimism. A review of dieting studies show that more than two thirds of dieters gain back more weight than they initially thought. With such a grim outlook on dieting, optimism gives people the much needed motivation to believe that their goal is achievable (Paul 2011). If you stopped and took a minute to think about how much work you had to put in or how much of a risk you could be taking, you might never even make the attempt. Optimism has such a commanding force that it has the ability to convince you that things will work out just long enough to take the step forward and make an effort to accomplish that task. For example, a student in medical school will put a tremendous amount

  • 18. Similarities And Differences Between Ancient And... There are subtle stylistic differences that occur in the Piombino Apollo that make it more advanced than the archaic kouros, which lead many scholars to distinguish this statue as Hellenistic rather than Archaic. The modelling of the back is one of the biggest alterations that occurs between actual kouros from the archaic period and the Piombino Apollo. The back of the statue is much more artistically advanced than the front regarding modelling (Ridgway 1967: 48). The subtle modelling of the muscular structures and ridges of the spine of the back suggest the desired realism of the Hellenistic era, instead of the basic and ridged idealized form found in the archaic period (Ridgway 1967: 48). More subtle differences between a true archaic sculpture and a retrograded Hellenistic sculpture are also present in this statue in other areas, such as the feet. On most kouros, the feet are high arched, but on the Piombino Apollo, they are small and flat (Ridgway 1967: 49). Also the toes are a discrepancy between the two eras. Usually archaic statues have [the toes] aligned with the central part of the other foot (Ridgway 1967: 49) in a very geometric fashion. However, the toes on the right foot of the Apollo do not align with the middle of the left foot, and instead align with the left heel (Ridgway 1967: 49). As stated earlier, the hair is a defining feature in archaic kouros and it is typically flat and in a bulky beaded shape to best attempt to represent the different

  • 20. Reputation, Reputations, And Importanced By William... Reputations The reputations as described by William Shakespeare are the immortal part of one s self. It is also almost all the time based on the person s actions and doings. Take this quote for an example: It takes twenty years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you will do things differently Warren Buffett. I think now we can all easily agree on what this quote says. Thus, it is believed that people with good reputations have it better in life than the ones who have bad reputations. Now, talking about reputations in general, we can safely say that besides being judged based on what your reputation says about you, it can as well affect job opportunities, having a life partner and the chances of making friends can decrease or increase whether in a positive or a negative way. • 21. Sociology Of The Family Class This Sociology of the Family class has been an eye opening experience. My views of the United States have been impacted by an objective comparison of their policies to those of other nations. I have learned that my own experiences growing up impacted me beyond how they did directly at the time they happened. Finally, the most dramatic of all was seeing how my own socialization has impacted the way I viewed the world. It is not unusual for a patriotic American to say that the United Statesis the greatest country in the world. An unbiased view of the policies of the US as compared to those of other countries might contradict that opinion. The teenage birthrate is the highest of all the developed nations, including twice as high as Canada and the UK and 12 times as high as Japan (Seccombe, 2012). Policies in the United States concerning family are grossly under supportive when compared to those in Sweden, France, or Norway (Seccombe, 2012). Ideas of the American Dream are sadly diminished when one views the facts in relation to social mobility it is unlikely that one will simply pull themselves up by their bootstraps to become a billionaire after being raised in a economically poor family. The events of our childhood impact us in ways that neither we nor our parents had imagined. Children of divorce suffer from long term effects, including depression, fear of commitment, and/or behavioral problems (Seccombe, 2012). Children who are spanked also have been

  • 24. Idealism And Realism In International Relations In the fields of International Relations, there are two important theories, idealism and realism. They are two contrasting and competing approaches in study of international relations. Idealism is what could be , planning the world as what they wish for it to become. Realism is what actually is , seeing the world as it actually is. People may ask, which one is more preferable? Though it s a decision of one s own perception that will never come to a correct answer, I argue that realism is more preferential because peace that idealists promote isn t applicable for everything in this complicated world, making idealism too normative. Idealism in general, highlights peace as a central theme. The main point of idealism is improving the society by eliminating war, violence, hunger, inequality and use of force. Therefore, idealists argue that war should be abolished and wish to reform the community through an emphasis eliminating all bad behaviours. They believe doing what s right is more preferred than doing what s in national interest. They also emphasize that the society will become better when people are working for common goals in the nation. Idealism have a strong sense of removing the evil . Idealists are optimistic about human nature, and wish for the international relations cycle to be peaceful and free from conflict. Some famous idealist thinkers are, John Stuart Mill, Immanuel Kant, and Woodrow Wilson. A suitable example would Woodrow Wilson and the League of

Manubriosternal and sternoclavicular joints may also be involved and although less important mechanically, can contribute to limitation of chest wall movement due to pain. AS involves the axial skeleton first then the anterior chest wall. Frequently, individuals assume the lower, the better, but in the case of this form of diet, it is best to focus on the proper amount of carbs. The reason for this is that carbohydrates are necessary to the body from the viewpoint of nutritionand health. To comprehend this better, it is a great idea to discover how carbs are processed by the human body. Food items like rice, grains, pasta, and bananas consist of substantial amounts of carbohydrates. When people eat these foods, the starch is converted into glucose. Most of this is utilized through the body as energy. Excess energy will be changed into glycogen and stored by the body. Many people have fallen into the trap of dismissing anything that is not considered fine art as culturally and intellectually inferior. The restrictive nature of this approach leaves us with an elitist viewpoint and a sense of supremacy. And when talking about supremacy, whether it is white, black or even cultural, it is in no way something positive. Albeit, it is difficult to control the feeling of superiority when talking to someone who genuinely loves and admires singers with lyrics like: Been around the world, don t speak the language. But your booty don t need explaining. Still, it is important to keep in mind that even Jason Derulo and Virginia Woolf have something in common, the origins of their means of expression. Growing up with a songwriter as a father, the children came together and began playing around with various melodies. Our participants were enquired about how they often change their passwords and whether they have different passwords for different accounts, their answers were that they do not do that often; therefore, this would increase possibility of attacks. Here we briefly introduce some of the possible attacks which could break the Picture Pass Doodle system. 4.3.1 Shoulder surfing It is possible for an attack get the information by using direct observation methods , such as while a user enters a password , the attacks records the input or watches over the user s shoulder [1]. The attack can be applied to both touchscreen and non touchscreen devices. To effectively prevent shoulder surfing, the disappearing stroke should be provided by default. Did the hurricane have any affect on the income in Houston? For this study, I will focus on the area in Houston that was affected by the hurricane. Additionally, I will be looking at data from 3 years; 2000 (control income from before the hurricane), 2008 (when the hurricane hit), and 2016 (present day). To gather data, I will be using a survey, which will be asking people their approximate income in these 3 years. In order for the survey to be as unbiased as possible, the questions will be open ended, allowing for unexpected answers and removing any bias from the wording of the answers. The data will be compared

The production cost per unit of each product would be essentially the same in the two plants. However, because of differences in their production facilities, the number of the hours of production time needed per unit of each product might differ between the two plants. At the beginning of the film, the audience is introduced to a young, sick boy who is struggling to get home in the pouring rain. In this scene, Michael is introduced to Hanna Schmitz, a middle aged womanwho helps him back to his home. Michael recalls, When rescue came, it was almost an assault. The woman seized my arm and pulled me through the dark entryway into the courtyard (4). Hanna is quite cold towards Michael, and as he continues to pursue her throughout the story, their interactions form a unique dynamic. In The Reader, both the author and director make the audiencesympathize with the main... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Michael is falling in love with Hanna, but it appears as though she is using him for sexual favors and attention. Michael becomes so infatuated, he says, She came home at noon, and I cut my last class every day so as to be waiting for her on the landing outside her apartment (32). The audience is shown that Michael s relationship with Hanna is beginning to take a negative toll on him, and he is oblivious to it. Here, it seems like Michael is blind to the rest of the world and can only see Hanna. He is losing his innocence, and instead of being at school learning and socializing with his peers, he is cutting class to have sexual encounters with a middle aged woman. This is frustrating to the audience, as they wish to be able to guide him and correct his poor decision making. Michael develops a routine with Hanna. One early morning when Hanna is working, Michael wakes up and makes his way to the streetcar that she works on. Michael finds the streetcar that Hanna is working on, but she ignores him. This fuels an argument between the two characters. Michael admits that Hanna treated him poorly when he says, I sat down on the sofa. She had treated me badly and I had wanted to call her on it. But I hadn t got through to her. Instead, she was the one who d attacked me (48). The relationship that Hanna has encouraged with Michael
  • 48. Classical Theory Vs Strain Theory Essay Key Characteristics Both classical theory and strain theory are widely known and established theories that although have similar goals are vastly difference in terms of their key characteristics. Classical theory was developed in the 18th century during the enlightenment era and is the foundation of the classical school of criminology (Clinard and Meier, 2008, p65 67). Classical theory is the theory that individuals are self seeking rational actors who under their own free will commit crimes after weighing up to pros and cons of the situation (Loughran et al. 2016, para 4; White, Haines and Asquith, 2012, p28 31). This theory takes an individualist approach to explaining CCB that sees individuals as rights holders who have the equal capacity to make rational choices and focuses on the criminal act rather than the offender (White, Haines and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The theory believes the most appropriate response to crime is through swift and punitive punishment based on the pleasure pain principle and see punishment as the key mechanism to preventing crime, arguing that if punishment is swift, just and certain both the individual (specific deterrence) and society members (general deterrence) will be deterred from committing crime (Akers, 1990, p654 659). Strain theory, on the other hand, is an adaption of Durkheim s anomie theory and branches off sociological positivism (Brezina, 2011, p99 103). Strain theory is the theory that society pressures individuals to achieve socially acceptable goals (SAG), and when individuals cannot reach these goals due to lack of means (e.g. poverty), individuals experience a strain and turns to crime (White, Haines and Asquith, 2012, p67 71; Walters, 2010, p316). This theory takes a sociological approach to explaining CCB that sees social strains and inadequate structural opportunities to blame for crime and highlights that individuals are not equal in their capacity to make rational choices (Clinard and

  • 50. Because firms produce where MC=MR=Price, allocative efficiency is achieved. Productive efficiency is also achieved because the firm produces at the lowest point of the AC curve. Prices are lower because of increased competition. Because of perfect knowledge firms must keep up to date and innovate or they will be forced to leave the industry. In the long run all firms will earn normal profits. Cartels and other restrictive agreements cannot emerge to exploit consumers. Perfect competition can be used as a model in economic analysis. Disadvantages of perfect competition Firms have little time to benefit from inventions because they quickly enter the public domain. Since firms make only normal profits they might not have the funds to undertake expensive research that often yields the most outstanding discoveries. Firms might not benefit from economies of large scale production. In order to prevent abuse of the consumer, some industries are best run by the state as natural monopolies and so perfect competition would be inappropriate. Perfect competition is a goal that cannot be reached in the real world. Student exercises/activities 1.To what extent does agriculture

In Circles of My Multicultural Self, I put twelve different identifiers and descriptors that defines who I am right now. They are the following: middle class, complex, hard worker/driven, agnostic, girlfriend, generous/kind, athletic, adopted, female, futurecounseling psychologist, and Asian (Korean). The three most impactful identifiers and descriptors are complex, girlfriend, and hard worker/driven. Complex is mostly due to what has been going on in my life, and it describes how my personality, Girlfriend describes one of the most relevant events that is going in my life. Hard worker/driven goes hand in hand together as it allows me to focus on what I want out of life and college. Complex is the most impactful right now. The reason I ranked complex as number one is due to the fact it is the core essence of me. It explains my personality and my past. My personality can range to completely bubbly to stoic and quiet. It depends on who I am with and where I am. I m one those people who don t open up that much. I like to stay private with a lot of my issues whether if something is bothering me or if I m really stressed out about something. Because of this, I usually act like nothing s bothering me most of the time. It is putting on a mask or a forefront as I like to handle it by myself. My past is also complex. One of
  • 52. Causes Of College Dropout Rates College Drop Out Rates A major subject that has been brought up by students, parents, reporters etc. is the phenomenon of high student dropout rates in U.S. colleges. Many students over the last few years have changed their majors, and eventually dropped their education in college and went out to find jobs, but we have to consider the causes that led them to do something like that. On the other hand, there are people who that think that this phenomenon is not as a great deal as people make it and that the dropout rates in U.S. colleges is not that high. In order to get a better understanding of this subject, I have found three sources that can prove that the phenomenon of high student dropout rates in U.S. colleges is a true issue and the causes, which are three main things: anxiety, student debts and financial success. First things that we have to check why students dropout rates has increased over the last years so much is due to the cause of anxiety. The main problem that arise from anxiety is that it will follow people for the rest of their lives and have a great effect on what they want to do in their lives, the only way to solve this problem is by visiting a doctor, and potentially for a prolonged period of time. According to Ronald A. et al. , their research show that students have a monthly income from their jobs of $595.52 and that their student loans could reach up to $16,456.56 and scoring a mean anxiety score of 19.34 (3). We can clearly see that the student
  • 53. The Representation Of The Female Body Our identity is what makes us human beings. People question their identity as it defines them or is it merely society labeling them. However, a female s identity deals with sexist advertising is questioned a great deal. The representation of the female body in popular advertisement is typically shown to be vulgar, it is known as their identity to look at a certain image for the male population to draw their attention. In the early 1900s, women did not have to be half naked to get attention from the media. They could have got attention by being fully clothed. In the 2000s time has changed and the advertisements have changed. The media portrays the women to be this way, is this really their identity? Socially this is unacceptable for women and young teens questioning their femininity. In a recent article Many Advertisements Are Sexist the author believes the viewpoint of women in magazines, advertisements, commercials, and campaigns are stereotyping women to be sexual. Sexist advertisements continue to use female nudity to promote products. These advertisements that downgrade woman are promoting items using seductive and attractive techniques to attract the opposite sex. It causes a psychological impact on these women and young girls who are watching the advertisements, because of the unrealistic expectations, which result of body image problems and sexual violence (Ballaro and Wagner). Many forms of media such as magazines, billboards, campaigns and advertisements benefit

The Farming Of Bones Poverty Quotes The Pain of Massacre and Poverty In her novel, The Farming of Bones, Edwidge Danticat creates scenes of personal trauma in Tibon s description of his capture and Amabelle s beating. Danticat does an excellent job of humanizing the horrors of a general massacre through the development of specific characters. The painful memories that Danticat composes are extremely similar to Frank McCourt s remembrances in his memoir, Angela Ashes, where he retells his childhood in extreme poverty. Danticat writes two absolutely horrific scenes that Amabelle encounters during her travels into Haiti. Even after the death of his own daughter, Malachy is nowhere to be found, providing no signs of regret or of encouragement to his wife and family. The most striking part of this image to me is that the twins are drinking water and sugar rather than milk in their bottles. Because milk is so commonplace, I had never envisioned it would be too expensive for an American child to afford. These two novels evoke extreme emotions of hardship and adversity that cause the reader to recognize the ills in society that they may not have fully

This test is important because it will decide if the students has met all the demands required to graduate school. High Stakes Testing will make education better because this test will be a good way to view all the scores from the students and seeing which students are in need to academically improve more and the students that does not need improvements at all. This test will give them an idea of how many efforts they should put into to help the students obtain their education. According to Jay P. • 56. Antoine Lavoisier Research Paper Why Lavoisier is famous: Antoine Lavoisier revolutionized chemistry. He named the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen; discovered oxygen s role in combustion and respiration; established that water is a compound of hydrogen and oxygen; discovered that sulfur is an element, and helped continue the transformation of chemistry from a qualitative science into a quantitative one. He created a new form of nomenclature which is the skeleton of today s Periodic Table, and he famously proved the theory of phlogiston incorrect and replaced it with the law of conservation of mass and his theory of oxygenation (Holmes, introduction). Before I start to talk about target market and retail policies of completely different fashion retailers, I would like you to answer these following questions: 1. These constitute only a very few of the questions that marketing executives are trying to discern about you, in order to create the type of fashion retail brand that gets you hot under the collar and itching to go shopping. Of course, you instinctively know that fashion retailers like Primark and Gucci are a world apart (not counting the ironic title of Primani that has now been applied to our most ubiquitous of high street retailers...). But do you know precisely who these companies are targeting in an attempt to increase footfall through their doors? Are YOU a marketing goldmine for fashion retailers? Perhaps your answer to that last question is of course I am! More people means more money, right? Not always. You might be surprised to find that many companies simply don t want you. Take Gucci for example. Very early on in the game, Gucci decided that more people didn t mean more money and engaged in a strong exercise in market segmentation. If all
