Music Performance Anxiety
Performance anxiety is a difficult thing to handle for many pupils and an important discussion that
educators often deliver. The article determines a model of music performance anxiety (MPA) based
on working memory and attentional processes. This model is an easy to understand (and easy to
communicate) for students of all ages. It is then used to arrange methods for performance anxietyto
lessen, describing how each method work. This article also provides practical exercises to help
students understand and manage performance anxiety.
Experiencing a little nervousness or uneasiness to move is quite common among students and
professionals. Recognizing and knowing that one is not alone in feeling MPA are the first few
steps to solve the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are also inventions to meet the objectives to maximize the scratch pad efficiency and to
minimize the frequency and influence of pop ups; they will be summarized below.
For the first invention, one must focus on the preparation, requiring little conscious attention, and
taking up little space on the scratch pad . In the writers perspective, the purpose of preparation is
to create shortcuts that will make resulting patterns of complex motor actions (like for example,
the fingering sequence) more or less automatic. While in the process, an approach can be marking
one s music at critical points, such as where accidentals appear and the location of key or tempo
changes; another would be using different colored sticky notes as cues for some aspects of playing.
The mentor must also be willing to help the student perhaps through bringing one to the
performance venue, letting each rehearse in the performance order, and requiring one to assume a
ready position every time he/she steps on the podium.
As for the second and third invention, one must increase his/her focal attention. To pay attention to
your music, not too much attention to pop ups, is the attentional process to be cultivated; trying to
suppress or fight negative thoughts may be counterproductive; one must be selective about when
and what to recognize and respond. One can pay attention to his/her own breathing by

The Witcher 3
Literature is a mutable thing. Many have sought, often in vain and to great dissatisfaction, to
contain it and define its true nature. What s more, it seems that with each generation this task
becomes increasing difficult as words find new mediums across which to be expressed and heard.
Conventional definitions of literature, in turn, seem to be of increasingly less use as the words
multiply around us. The most successful definitions, under these circumstances, are those which
seek not to assess the nature of literature, which is ever changing, but its function in human society,
which has remained relatively unchanged over the annals of time. I would assert that the function
of literature, beyond the pleasure its aesthetic beauty can inspire,... Show more content on

The world of The Witcher 3 is not wholly unlike our own. Women, particularly in marginalized
segments of society, struggle to assert their own worth and determine their own destinies in a world
in which men hold virtually all major positions of power. In The Witcher3, this manifests itself in
many ways. One way is in the ubiquitous prostitutes of Novigrad, through whom the writers
challenge players to assess their own beliefs about sex work. Opportunities arise throughout the
game to either help affirm their humanity and defend them against male abuse and violence, or
partake in their services and leave them to their fates as objects of male desire. Given the
ineptitude of many of their world s male leaders, there are also many women from the upper
segments of society who seek to define not only their own fates, but those of their entire nation.
Upon traveling to the Skellige Isles, an archipelago off the western coast of the Northern
Kingdoms, players find themselves interrupting a funeral service for the recently deceased king,
Bran. His widow, Birna, has plans for the island nation even in her mourning. Traditionally, the
next ruler would be chosen by the people based off of their deeds and popularity. Regarding this
tradition with disdain, Birna seeks instead to form Skellige into a dynastic monarchy after that of
the rival Nilfgaardian Empire with her son upon the throne. She is not alone, however, in seeking
to radically change her nation for the better. Cerys an Craite, the daughter of a Skellige jarl, seeks
to inherit the current political system and use it to reform and improve the policies of her native
land. Instead of continuing to raid the coastal lands at great loss of life, as ruler she would seek to
turn the island nation s attention inward to invest in its people and infrastructure. By presenting
women as the

The Human Struggle In Yasujiro Ozu s Tokyo Story
Generations don t battle, they mostly clash into each other. We see this in our very own lives,
where parents bring up their past and say, If only you knew how good you have it! . This will
forever be somewhat a problem in the past, present, and future of our lives. One generation will
always be underestimated or beyond correct then the other. In Yasujiro Ozu s film Tokyo Story we
see constant clashing of the elderly and the youth. Ozu s message of how the generations have
changed is a way of him defining to us what the human struggle is. Due to the character s actions
in the way they treat each other we can pick up on the struggles that they are having and see the
human struggle in the film. At the start of the film, Ozu shows us two of the main characters of
the film; Shukichi and Tomi. We see them packing their bags to go on a trip. They are going to
see their children whom, they haven t seen in a long while. We can see that Ozu is showing us
that becoming old is one struggle that most humans fear, but of course it must occur in our
lives. When the old slow couple are packing, Shukichi asks Tomi where the inflatable pillow is
and Tomi responds and says that she gave it to him. With aging comes forgetfulness and
stubbornness; and when Tomi says she gave it to him he starts to say no you didn t, you still
have it. Later we see it appear in his bag where he said it wasn t and nothing is said when he finds
it. It is simply brushed away with no argument to follow. Ozu shows

but on Relationships and cooperation
The Global Organization must have Virtual System of Boundary Spanning Relationships, thus

STRUCTURE FOR INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
There is a fact that rarely can a firm extend its domestic structure into a global environment.
Also there is no ideal model that defines the optimal multinational organization.
Nevertheless, companies try to establish stable systems for management.

(b) Expansion and Integration
Domestic organization with an export dep.
The export function is a responsibility distinct from domestic marketing. As a company establishes
foreign markets, it must develop the ability to facilitate the necessary transactions. This process
often requires new abilities to respond to unfamiliar customers. These activities extend beyond
adjunct marketing responsibilities, and firms usually acknowledge the separate needs by staffing
export offices with people skilled in international business. Many companies retain this structure for
long periods of time, merely expanding office staff as required. As it shown in figure 7.3:

The Four Dimensions Of Qualitative Research
The following paper will discuss the qualitative research, while describing its dimensions, basic
concepts, methods and differences. First, it will portray the four dimensions of the qualitative
research: positivism, postpositivism, constructivism and objectivism, which are divided into
epistemological and ontological. Secondly, it will describe the definition and basic concepts of the
qualitative research; and thirdly, it will represent the five methods possible while conducting a
qualitative research: phenomenology, ethnography, action research, grounded theory, and case
study. It will elaborate each method s definition, distinctive features and data collection methods. In
the end, it will present the differences between all above mentioned research methods. I.
Dimensions I.1. Epistemological positions Positivism is an epistemological position that supports
the implementation of the methods of the natural sciences to the study of social reality. According
to Johnson and Duberley (2000) it is an approach to research that attempts to match as closely as
possible to that in the natural sciences, by: a) relying on observations of the empirical world. b)

Analysis of The Titanic, by James Cameron Essay
Within the context of film industry, the film Titanic by James Cameron belongs to epic romance
/ disaster genre. The film, released in 1997, was a global box office hit because the director
provided equal importance to history, fiction and romance. To be specific, one can see that the film
s plot is based upon the history of RMS Titanic. On the other side, the main characters including the
protagonist and the heroine (Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater/Dawson) are fictional
characters. Besides, the element of romance between the main characters (Jack and Rose) is the film
s main attraction. Thesis statement: The critical analysis of the film Titanic proves that the
innovative mode of storytelling (flash back and other techniques),... Show more content on

Within this context, the director made use of flashback technique to unearth the romantic story of
the lovers in the film. To be specific, the plot moves from present condition (say, 1996) to past
(say, 1912) and to present (1996). In the opening scene, the director portrays the effort of Brock
Lovett (say, a treasure hunter) to unearth the secret behind a necklace sunk with RMS Titanicin
1912. Gradually, the director portrays the love affair between Rose and Jack. In the end, Rose
drops the necklace into the Ocean and returns. The film ends with a fictional reunion between
the lovers. B. Acting The film s casting is related to historical and fictional characters. For
instance, some of real travelers in the RMS Titanic are portrayed in the film. This is helpful for
the viewers to identify the historical element of the film. On the other side, the protagonist and the
heroine are fictional characters. For instance, Jack and Rose, (the protagonist and his lady love)
are fictional characters who inculcated the element of romance in the film. One can see that the
director s decision to caste Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson (say, the protagonist) is one of the
elements behind the commercial success of the film. Besides, DiCaprio s youthful exuberance suits
his character in the film. On the other side, Kate Winslet s character as Rose DeWitt Bukater is apt

Sheltering Sky versus Blood Meridian Essay
Extreme circumstances bring about substantial changes in people. At least that is what Paul
Bowles and Cormac McCarthy seem to be saying in the writing of their respective books, The
Sheltering Sky and Blood Meridian. Both authors place their characters in difficult locations,
dealing with difficult people and expect them to emerge changed, for better or for worse. In The
Sheltering Sky, Bowles takes his American trio and places them in the desert landsof the African
continent where the wide, dry impossibly desolate terrain takes its toll on their minds and bodies.
Likewise, McCarthy takes his ragged bunchof marauders, most prominently the Kid, and has them
wandering the massive expanse of the untamed west. This convention of forced... Show more

Both parties chance upon characters, both eccentric and dangerous, and all involved seem to get
themselves into the most impossible situations imaginable. Apparently the point Bowles and
McCarthy are trying to convey to the reader is that great change and substantial inner growth can
only come about through intense emotional stress and physical challenge.
Kit, in The Sheltering Sky, learns some very interesting things about herself through the course of
our travels with her. She starts out as Port s wife, a secondary character of sorts, afraid to voice
her opinions on virtually everything. We have the inside track on her thought s and feelings
though, and are privy to the fact that she is unhappy not only with her situation and current
location, but also with her marriage and identity. We get our first glimpse of her realization of
these problems on her train ride with Tunner, as Port is traveling with the Lyles. Her spontaneous
affair with Tunner is a symptom of her unhappiness and is the beginning of a downward spiral that
takes her to the brink of insanity and far beyond. We see the beginning of her growth in her
encounter in the Fourth Class cabin of the train when see comes in close contact with the miserable
peasant folk and she realizes that aside from their cultural differences she is no better than these
simple folk and in some ways she is far worse. As her story progresses we, the reader, get to see the
progress of her downfall due to the

Explain Two Issues Related To Juvenile Delinquency
Two issues that are related to juvenile delinquency are substance abuse and mental health issues.
The Juvenile Justice System is contantly being reevaluated for reform. The desensitization of
today s youth to drugs and violence can lead to them trying drugs for the first time at younger
ages. Soceity is also seeing an increase in young people with mental health issues today than ever
before. My wife worked in a local residential treatment facility for at risk youth for several years.
Substance abuse and mental health issues were recurring themes with the youth who entered that

multicultural counseling Essay
Multicultural Counseling
After reading the many articles on the notion of diagnosis and counseling with multicultural/ethnic
patients, it has come to my attention that this focus is solely based on stereotypical attitudes. Sure,
it can be said that it is important for a therapist to have a background of the patient s heritage and
culture, but doesn t this necessarily mean that the outlook of the therapist will be put in a box by
doing so? I think multicultural competency is a ridiculous way to improve patient therapist
relationships because of several reasons. First off, generalities and race centralisms only hinder, not
improve, the inner workings of a therapy session. Second, there is no real way to test ... Show more

This bias will be formed in the classroom in which multicultural competency takes place. If
therapists are taught certain things about certain races, they have no choice but to implement these
issues into their practice. I think the implementation of any sort of knowledge is absolutely
dependent on the patient and what is the nature of their illness.
If there is a model for competency involving multicultural issues, the therapist, especially, is forced
to look at the information taught to s/he in the study for the competency. After going through the
process of understanding multicultural issues (however this is possible) and having passed the
exam that tells them that they are multiculturally competent, a strange occurrence will take place
when putting these studies into practical use in the therapy environment. Let s say that therapist
Dr. Harry Potter has a new patient coming in for the first time today. Her name is Janet Lee.
Already by having been a part of society for 40 some years, Potter makes the assumption that Lee is
a Chinese name; therefore his new patient is Chinese. Potter then puts on his therapists hat and
thinks back to what he learned in his competency class about Chinese patients. He remembers what
he learned of their relationships with their parents, their understandings of the US and how they feel
about therapy. Now Janet walks in. They began conversing. Janet begins to feel

Analysis Of Forgiving My GuiltAndForgive My Guilt
Responsibility is an important quality that mature people possess. People make mistakes, but the
maturity level of a person is determined by whether or not the person takes responsibility for their
errors. The short story The Man Who Was Almost a Man by Richard Wright and the lyric poem
Forgive My Guiltby Robert Coffin both fixate on young boys who wrongly take the lives of
creatures with a weapon. The short storyand the lyric poem share a common theme regarding the
significance of early life experiences to the maturation process as seen in the way the main
characters react to their mistakes. Dave in The Man Who was Almost a Man runs away from
his problems while the narrator in Forgive My Guilt holds himself accountable for his action and
feels guilty. In the short story, The Man Who Was Almost a Man, Richard Wright uses colloquial
language to develop the theme. For instance, in the scene where Dave is accused of killing the
mule, the difference in speech used by Dave, a black sharecropper, and Jim Hawkins, his white
employer, is evident. Jim Hawkins uses a more formal language when talking to Dave: Well,
looks like you have you a mule, Dave (5). In stark contrast, Dave responds using a more informal
way of speaking: Ah swear fo Gawd, Ah didn t go t kill the mule, Mistah Hawkins (5). The speech
in the story shows the varying degrees of education of the characters in the story and depicts the
segregation in the South between whites and blacks. Dave is also a

What Is Meant by Community Policing
Before any move forward on education, study must be made to fully understand just what is
meant by community policing. Following would have to include information necessary to outline
any benefits. Credited with the concept of community policing was a Michigan State University
professor by the name of Robert Trojanowicz. Trojanowicz s definition (Trojanowicz, Kappeler,
Gaines, Bucqueroux Sluder, 1998) was; A philosophy of full service, personalized policing where
the same officer patrolled and worked in the same area on a permanent basis from a decentralized
place, working in a proactive partnership with citizens to identify and solve problems. This
definition would become the foundation for directing the changes required and education of
participates. To demonstrate other attributes expected a review of the works of other scholars in the
field will be studied. Wilson and Kelling (1982) explain how the implementation of community
policing with the cooperation between the community and policewill improve the quality of life and
reduce the fear of crime. Although these perceptions are held by individuals with many variables
dependent on many circumstances it is of great concern of the daily lives of the citizens. Although
it becomes difficult to measure perceptions they remain genuine concerns. 3 The effects of

provide flexible, scalable, responsive forces that can conduct a multitude of missions. Inchon,
during the Korean War, highlights the benefit of maneuver warfare and joint operations. However,
security operations, intelligence, and speed were deficient during Operation CHROMITE. World
War II demonstrated a lack of preparedness to conduct amphibious operations in the Pacific by the
US and Great Britain. The Pacific Campaign and Inchon prove the need to maintain a professional
amphibious force and the importance of concepts like seabasing, C2, and the ESG in amphibious
operations. Applying the concepts of seabasing, C2, and the ESG in joint exercises with platforms
such as Maritime Prepositioning Force, multipurpose amphibious assault ships (LHD), Landing
Craft Air Cushion(LCAC), AV 8B Vertical/Short Take Off and Landing (VSTOL) jets, and MV 22
tilt rotor aircraft ensure that we are better prepared to conduct forcible entry operations than we
were during the landing at Inchon, and subsequent liberation of Seoul.

Oxalate Lab Essay
Dr. Hjorth Gustin
Chemistry 201 Lab

Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion
This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general
formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined
through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate
complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to
Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice:
2Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution.
The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Show more content on

Part 2 of this experiment invoked the use of redox
titrating to determine the oxalate content (C2O42 ) of the salt. An aqueous solution of the iron
oxalate salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis
by measuring the volume of titrant.
Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III)
oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and
Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part
1. Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage
of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of
determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known
concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs.
concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part
3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion. The Beer s Law Plot that was
graphed came out to be linear with an equation of:
Absorbance = 5.395 x 10^3(Fe^+2 Bipy) 0.0014.
The empirical formula that was determined was different from that of the true compound
mentioned. The empirical formula determined was:
K3[Fe(C2O4^ 2)3] 3 H2O
If had there been a better alternate method to determining the iron

The Four Branches Of Judaism
Judaism as a religion has progressed over the years; it has been divided into four branches that each
can be identified by specific characteristics. The different branches include orthodox Judaism,
conservative Judaism, reform Judaism, and reconstructionist Judaism; each of these separate
branches have similar beliefs which surround the main ideas of Judaism but have individualized
into their own religions which conflicting customs and traditions. Orthodox Judaism is the most
traditional of the branches and works to up keep the original values and customs the religion began
with while the other branches focus on changes but still manage to uphold some of the same core
values. Orthodox Judaism was only known as Judaism up until the reform movement

Jane Austen Pride And Prejudice Analysis
After reading the first 50 pages of Pride and Pride as well as Foster s How to Read Novels Like a
Professor, I expect for the book to continue having long and complex sentences that focus on the
moral of a wealthy family having their daughters married to wealthy men while maintaining a
mature and manner like behavior. Austen uses a serious tone that portrays the values during the
19th century while still mocking the measure in which people took. Although there isn t a first
person narrator, the protagonist and her family possesses a superior attitude filled with pride
making me believe they ll be that way for the story. They have the role that is the importance of
appearances and behavior towards other nobles. When the Bennets were on their way to introduce

thinking, we should be able to understand if the Jane Austen is closer to one or all character in

Waking Ned Devine
Waking Ned Devine and Hunt for the Wilderpeople both explore the importance of culture on
family life and local relationships. While Waking Ned Devine chooses to focus on the strong ties in
a local culture through the intimate interactions of numerous villagers, Hunt for the Wilderpeople

these films elaborate on culture as a binding factor between those in the same community. Waking
Ned Devine is a movie focusing on the how the intimate bonds of small town life and Irish culture

he was highlighted alongside the famous super model Gisele Bundchen. LeBron is shown in a

Traditional Gender Roles
Gender roles are the roles that men and women are expected to occupy based on their sex.
Traditionally, many believed that women are more nurturing than men. Therefore, the traditional
view of the feminine gender role prescribes that women should behave in ways that are nurturing.
One way that a woman might engage in the traditional feminine genderrole would be to nurture her
family by working full time within the home rather than employment. Men, on the other hand, are
presumed by traditional views of gender roles to be leaders. The traditional view of the masculine
gender role, therefore, suggests that men should be the heads of their households by providing
financial support for the family and making important family decisions. While these views remain
dominant throughout society, perspectives on traditional beliefs about gender roles have improved
throughout the twenty first century. Gender roles are sometimes created on the basis of stereotypes
about gender. Gender stereotypes are oversimplified understandings of males and females and the...

Integrated Project Delivery Paper
Integrated Project Delivery or IDP is a one of the newest project delivery methods in the US
construction industry. This method focusses on the collaboration of all the parties involved during
the entire process of construction. As all the teams work together, the risks, liabilities, incentives
and responsibilities are equally shared by everyone. Even associates having more than 5% of share
in the total cost of the construction project are equally liable as any other members of the entire
group.
Building Information Modelling or BIM is usage of various soft wares which are flexible, highly
detailed, contain extensive data and can efficiently help in simulation the activities of construction.
This simulation can be rendered in various dimensions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This helps in making the project extremely cost and time effective. The construction manager can
provide design timelines to all the participating members of the project. Once the designs are ready,
the design conflicts can be solved in group meetings. The traditional method of construction is
inefficient in this matter as the problems in design will be faced on site and corrections to this can
be extremely costly and inefficient.
IDP is a signed contract between all the participating parties. Therefore, the BIM designs can work
as legal documents if any issues arise. The amount of importance given to these drawings and other
policies can be decided in group meeting of the various parties. This helps in making the contract
clearer. Also, the designers can copyright or have mutual understandings between the constructors
regarding the sharing of their designs with any third party or using the designs in any future

The Holocaust And The Nazi Regime During World War II Essay
Introduction
The Second World War is seen by the modern world to be the most famous war that shaped the
communities of the world today, but for the Jewish community in Europe at the time this was the
war to fight for their own existence. The Holocaust was the systematic extinction of six million
Jews by the Nazi regime during World War 2. Of the millions of Jewish people that lost their
lives there were many that did resist and did escape the Nazism and Nazi racial policy that was
conducted on the Jewish lives throughout the war. There were different ways the Jews did resist
through different dimensions of wellbeing, through uprising in the ghettos and camps in a stretch
to revolting against their German captivators whilst secretly keeping their spiritual and religious
beliefs as something that the Nazis could never physically take from them. The Jews showed
resistance to German control also by escaping the camps, and creating Armies and Partisan Groups
to fight back. In the findings I was able to establish an understanding of the different ways during
the war the Jews managed to create upheaval and resist German authority and the fact that a
percentage were able to resist.

How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco s Life
During a time when young people do most of their communicating from behind a computer
screen, Jon Ronson wrote an article called, How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco s
Life. It is a report consisting of five different stories about people who were publicly humiliated
because of their distasteful social media posts. Instead of focusing on the mistakes of the tweeters,
Ronson discusses the fairness of their punishment. In order to catch and keep the attention of his
young audience, Ronson uses rhetorical devices that will make readers feel emotions like shock
and sympathy. Ronson begins the article with the story of Justine Sacco. He opens with an
enumeration, a rhetorical device that makes a point with a lot of detail. As she made the long
journey from New York to South Africa, to visit family during the holidays in 2013, Justine Sacco,
30 years old, and the senior director of corporate communication at IAC, began tweeting acerbic
little jokes about the indignities of travel (How One Stupid... 1). This gives the audience all of the
information about Justine Sacco that they need, and also makes them want to continue reading to
find out what the tweets said. He follows this opening with quotations of Justine s actual tweets.
Ronson knew that if he wanted to change the way people used social media he had to get the
attention of the generation that uses it the most. He does this by not overwhelming the audience
with facts. Instead he gives them the information

Reflection Of Leadership And Leadership In The Honors College
Throughout this semester, I learned so much and gained so much confidence in my ability to
lead. I had never led through the Honors College before this semester nor had I ever felt so

Through my experience, I have made friends, realized what all the Honors College has to offer and

strengths are and how to use them to their full potential, and what needs to happen differently next
semester in hopes to improve the experience for the freshmen.
I thought our mentor class was absolutely phenomenal. Tiffany continuously led us well and
reigned us in well when we needed to get down to business. Her leadership, council, and example
made a difference for me when leading my freshmen. She was also very encouraging, which was
much needed. At the beginning, I was intimidated by Rebecca being in our class each week.
However, the intimidation faded, and I quickly learned to appreciate her. She had many great
suggestions as well as a great insight. I may be an extrovert, but on the first day of our mentor
class, I was very intimidated and nervous. I had no earthly idea what to expect. However, as it is

Long distance moving is not only hard on the body, and the mind, but the soul. That cloudy

How We Waste Power and Carbon Dioxide
Did you know that lighting a typical office overnight wastes enough energy to heat water for one
thousand cups of tea (Climate Care.org). This is only one of many examples of how we waste
power and Carbon dioxide. Almost everything we do releases carbon dioxide emissions, and in
different amounts. We can save money and CO2 by reducing our carbon footprints, which is the
total quantity of greenhouse gases that someone produces. Although we don t think about them
very often, a carbon footprint is part of everyone s life because it s measured on things we use,
our actions create and waste CO2, and several people have worked to find energy saving ways to
reduce them and help the environment.
A carbon footprint is measured by using several different variables about someone s lifestyle. It s
important to note that depending on where someone may live influences their impact on their
carbon footprint. Just as Stephanie Pappas mentioned; In California, for example, electricity
generation is relatively climate friendly, so focusing on vehicular emissions has a greater impact .
Using an online calculator can show anyone how much CO2 they use on average, by answering the
questions provided. Inevitably, in going about our daily lives commuting, sheltering our families,
eating each of us contributes to the greenhouse gas emissions that are causing climate change
(Nature.org). Basically, determining your carbon footprint is a great first step to better
understanding what uses

Peripheral Vascular Disease
Background
Peripheral vascular disease is a disease that affects the peripheral circulatory system. PVD is
also referred to as peripheral arterial disease. PVD includes both the veins and the arteries. In
PVD there is a problem with blood flow due to a narrowing of blood vessels which is occurring
from a different pathology. The most common cause of PVD is atherosclerosis. Patients with PVD
can range from asymptomatic to severe and require amputations (Giorgi 2015).
Etiology
Peripheral vascular disease is divided into subcategories of functional and organic. Functional PVD
does not involve physical problems in the blood vessels. It causes incidental or short term
symptoms. These are usually spasms that occur erratically. Organic PVD involves changes in
blood vessel structure. This type of PVD causes inflammation, tissue damage, and blockages
(Giorgi 2015). The number one leading cause of peripheral vascular disease is atherosclerosis. This
is a gradual process in which a fatty material builds up inside the arteries (emedicinehealth 2015).
Other contributing factors to PVD include smoking, inactivity, diabetes, obesity, high blood
cholesterol, hypertension, emboli from another location, inflammation of blood vessels, injury to
blood vessels, and stress. (Giorgi 2015)

PepsiCo, Inc acquired Pizza Hut in 1977, adding the family business to a corporate list sharing
space with Pepsi ColaВ® brand soft drinks, and Frito LayВ® brand snack foods. In October of
1977, PepsiCo founded Tricon (Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell) and on May 16, 2002 Tricon
officially became Yum! Brands.
Pizza Hut has experienced many changes in the way they do business over the years, with
leadership and ownership being only two of the most important changes. Franchising expanded
the revenue and the visibility and brand knowledge. Home delivery set Pizza Hut apart from the
crowd, but the newest addition to the Pizza Hut family of options, the ability to order a pizza on
line and have it delivered to a family s doorstep, has gone a long way in proving that e Business is
a force to be reckoned with. The emergence of e Business opened new money making opportunities
to businesses once thought to only exist in the physical marketplace.
As with any business, opportunities require planning and effective management. Restaurant
Business, Fortune, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal (Pizza Hut, 2006) have cited Pizza Hut
as an innovative business leader for all its business accomplishments. Pizza Hut has built a
reputation for excellence through innovation and a commitment to satisfying the customer s needs
as they have changed throughout the years. Expansion into e Business is just one of those changes.

Pink Dolphins Artifact
Making sure that each group member was on our box was our first task. We decide that a photo
of our Pink Dolphins group would be a perfect idea. The picture was the exact item needed to
show how we are all, creative and unique . It is going to be exciting when we open the time capsule
in four years and see how we have changed over the years. Choosing an artifact for the boxwas an
easy decision. I chose to put a picture of my dog, Chocolate, because he is very important to me.
He is a two year old Schnoodle (half Schnauzer half Poodle) who we rescued from the animal
shelter. It will be exciting to look back at what he looked like as a puppy. The artifact portrays me
well since I love my dog and he is a big part of my life. It shares

The Existence Of Crop Circles
Crop circles are strange shapes in crops that people believed where UFOs landed, or the work of
Earth s Power. There are many theories on the circles, but the only proven explanation is humans.
Crop circles are patterns that appear in fields. These crop circles are normally made by
flattening any crop. The most commonly flattened crop is cereal, but the crops have varied from
tobacco, wheat, barley, rice paddies, or even wild grass. Crop circles have happened so recently,
that they have become an everyday thing. There really isn t a true answer who made them. The
first reporting of a crop circle was in a small town near Tully, Australia. In 1966, a farmer claimed
to see a saucer lift up from that area and leave strange circles of flattened ... Show more content on

a mystic mystery, to an art. People are now being hired to make crop circles as advertisements
for big corporations, and get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars. It seems to be researchers
have stopped pondering why they are here and accepted them as the work of art they are. Crop
circles will most likely continue to pop up, and so will different theories. Although there are

There are several projects for this research opportunity. I am part of a project called Better Glass
Edu , a project specifically for the first year researchers to get acclimated to the terms of and usage

topic we must first understand what Machine learningis. Machine learning is an application of
artificial intelligencethat Provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from

Random forests are an ensemble of Decision Trees. This algorithm trains multiple decision trees
and has them vote on the final output of the model. Pros of this algorithms are that it is very
unlikely to overfit. In order for overfitting to occur, a majority of classifiers would have to
misclassify an instance, a majority of weights would have to be incorrect in regression. The
basic idea behind a neural network(similar to a human brain) is to copy, in a simplified but
reasonably way, lots of densely interconnected brain cells inside a computer so you can get it to
learn things, recognize patterns, and make decisions in a humanlike way. The amazing thing about
a neural network is that you don t have to program it to learn explicitly: it learns all by itself, just
like a brain!
But it isn t a brain. It s important to note that neural networks are (generally) software simulations:
they re made by programming very ordinary computers, working in a very traditional fashion with
their ordinary transistors and serially connected logic gates, to behave as though they re built from
billions of highly interconnected brain cells working in parallel. Computer simulations are just
collections of algebraic variables and mathematical equations linking them together. They mean
nothing whatsoever to the computers they run inside only to the people who program them, so
there is no threat of the

Sully Movie Analysis
Background and Plot Summary
Sully is a film based on the true event of the 2009 crash landing of US Airways flight 1549. The
film, directed by Clint Eastwood, details the entire true story as told by Captain Chesley Sully
Sullenberger, who piloted flight 1549. Sullenberger (the main character who is the basis for the
current analysis) was played by Tom Hanks. The film details everything from the initial bird strike,
the root cause of the crash, to the hearings held by the National Transportation Safety Board (more
commonly known as the NTSB). These hearing were to discuss the actions of Sullenberger and his
First Officer on the day of the crash. These hearings lasted months; and the film gave the audience

Often, a person in an immensely stressful event denies it ever happened. Sidestep: this was the
case for several of the passengers on the flight as depicted in the film. One could obviously tell
from the film that Sullenberger has accepted that his plane had indeed crashed. Sullenberger, even
when alone to himself, never denied that the crash had occurred. Perhaps this was because of his
resilience. Whatever the case may be, acceptance, as it was depicted in the film, was one of
Sullenberger s biggest strengths related to adjustment. It is also essential to mention that
Sullenberger used positive coping mechanisms to cope with the residual stress of the hearings, and
the crash itself. These will be looked at a little later, but should be, nonetheless, a considered a
considerable adjustment

Comparison Of The Devil And Miss Prym
The book The Devil And Miss Prym by Paulo Coelho and the movie Hero starring Jet Li even
though in different languages, share a plethora of similarities. The Devil And Miss Prym tells
the story of a young woman from the village of Visco, Chantal Prym. Her life was very simple
and seemed so innocent, until the devil walked into Visco and offered her something she so
strongly felt she deserved a way out of Visco. Of course there was a small price to pay, somebody
had to die. After this day Chantal lived with a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other,
constantly fighting to win her over. In the end Gods light shined brighter and Chantal was able to
make the right decisions. The movie, saving herself and her village. Hero by Jet Liwas about an
orphaned, nameless, assassin who blamed the King for the death of his family, and wanted
revenge. He was able to get within 10 paces of the restless King making him believe he killed the
3 assassins that had been after him. The king soon realized that Nameless s story did not add up
and he had to be an assassin. Even so, he chose a different fate, because of what broken sword had
taught to him. This was his highest ideal, and with that knowledge the desire to killno longer
existed, only peace, not revenge. When not blinded by hate he was able to see the King s mission
to unite all of China, and Spared, his life only after passing on these wise words. Both stories main
characters dealt a with a Person Versus Self battle, both Stories had common archetypes with some
playing the innocent and others the Sage, and both stories share a philosophy and that is
utilitarianism.
In both of these stories the biggest battle of all was fought within the mind of the main character.
Chantal faced this throughout much of the story as she questioned should she steal the gold?
Should she tell the villagers of the message the devil shared with her? Should she help Berta? It
was a tough battle between her morals, her ego and what she felt she deserved after living her
whole life in Visco, even though she was different than everyone else there. In the end she ended up
realizing she wasn t so different from them after all. She was able to fight the temptation, even
though she

film is based on a book which was written by Erin Gruwell, who was a teacher at Woodrow Wilson
Classical High School in Eastside, Long Beach, California. The book was first published in 1999.
Erin Gruwell is just starting her first teaching job, as an English teacher at Woodrow Wilson

no one gives out any emotions to Erin due to the fact that she is white and she lives a perfect life.
Halfway into the film, the students started to like Erin because she mentioned about the Holocaust
which touched them. The students realised that what they were doing was not something new to

which she calls The Line Game . During the game Erin asks questions so she could get to know

Partition Of Chapel And State Essay
At the point when Thomas Jefferson initially utilized the expression mass of detachment, it is sure
that he never would have expected the contention that encompasses that term two centuries later.
The representation has turned out to be powerful to the point that more Americans are more
acquainted with Jefferson s expression than with the genuine dialect of the Constitution.{1}
In one sense, the possibility of partition of chapel and state is a precise portrayal of what must
happen between the two establishments. History is loaded with cases (e.g., the Inquisition) of the
risks that emerge when the establishments of chapel and state turn out to be excessively interwoven.
However, the contemporary idea of detachment of chapel and state goes a long ways past the
acknowledgment that the two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In spite of the fact that that ought to be a conspicuous explanation, it is astounding what number of
residents (counting legal counselors and government officials) don t have the foggiest idea about
that basic actuality.
Since the expression is not in the Constitution and not even fundamentally examined by the
composers (e.g., The Federalist Papers), it is interested in wide understanding and error. The main
clear proclamation about religion in the Constitution can be found in the First Amendment and we
will take a gander at its administrative history later in this article.
Thomas Jefferson utilized the expression detachment of chapel and state when he kept in touch
with the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. At that point the expression slipped into lack of
clarity. In 1947, Justice Hugo Black restored it on account of Everson v. Leading body of
Education. He composed that the First Amendment was planned to erect a mass of division
amongst chapel and State. He included that this divider must be kept high and

  • 2. Music Performance Anxiety Performance anxiety is a difficult thing to handle for many pupils and an important discussion that educators often deliver. The article determines a model of music performance anxiety (MPA) based on working memory and attentional processes. This model is an easy to understand (and easy to communicate) for students of all ages. It is then used to arrange methods for performance anxietyto lessen, describing how each method work. This article also provides practical exercises to help students understand and manage performance anxiety. Experiencing a little nervousness or uneasiness to move is quite common among students and professionals. Recognizing and knowing that one is not alone in feeling MPA are the first few steps to solve the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are also inventions to meet the objectives to maximize the scratch pad efficiency and to minimize the frequency and influence of pop ups; they will be summarized below. For the first invention, one must focus on the preparation, requiring little conscious attention, and taking up little space on the scratch pad . In the writers perspective, the purpose of preparation is to create shortcuts that will make resulting patterns of complex motor actions (like for example, the fingering sequence) more or less automatic. While in the process, an approach can be marking one s music at critical points, such as where accidentals appear and the location of key or tempo changes; another would be using different colored sticky notes as cues for some aspects of playing. The mentor must also be willing to help the student perhaps through bringing one to the performance venue, letting each rehearse in the performance order, and requiring one to assume a ready position every time he/she steps on the podium. As for the second and third invention, one must increase his/her focal attention. To pay attention to your music, not too much attention to pop ups, is the attentional process to be cultivated; trying to suppress or fight negative thoughts may be counterproductive; one must be selective about when and what to recognize and respond. One can pay attention to his/her own breathing by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Witcher 3 Literature is a mutable thing. Many have sought, often in vain and to great dissatisfaction, to contain it and define its true nature. What s more, it seems that with each generation this task becomes increasing difficult as words find new mediums across which to be expressed and heard. Conventional definitions of literature, in turn, seem to be of increasingly less use as the words multiply around us. The most successful definitions, under these circumstances, are those which seek not to assess the nature of literature, which is ever changing, but its function in human society, which has remained relatively unchanged over the annals of time. I would assert that the function of literature, beyond the pleasure its aesthetic beauty can inspire,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The world of The Witcher 3 is not wholly unlike our own. Women, particularly in marginalized segments of society, struggle to assert their own worth and determine their own destinies in a world in which men hold virtually all major positions of power. In The Witcher3, this manifests itself in many ways. One way is in the ubiquitous prostitutes of Novigrad, through whom the writers challenge players to assess their own beliefs about sex work. Opportunities arise throughout the game to either help affirm their humanity and defend them against male abuse and violence, or partake in their services and leave them to their fates as objects of male desire. Given the ineptitude of many of their world s male leaders, there are also many women from the upper segments of society who seek to define not only their own fates, but those of their entire nation. Upon traveling to the Skellige Isles, an archipelago off the western coast of the Northern Kingdoms, players find themselves interrupting a funeral service for the recently deceased king, Bran. His widow, Birna, has plans for the island nation even in her mourning. Traditionally, the next ruler would be chosen by the people based off of their deeds and popularity. Regarding this tradition with disdain, Birna seeks instead to form Skellige into a dynastic monarchy after that of the rival Nilfgaardian Empire with her son upon the throne. She is not alone, however, in seeking to radically change her nation for the better. Cerys an Craite, the daughter of a Skellige jarl, seeks to inherit the current political system and use it to reform and improve the policies of her native land. Instead of continuing to raid the coastal lands at great loss of life, as ruler she would seek to turn the island nation s attention inward to invest in its people and infrastructure. By presenting women as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Human Struggle In Yasujiro Ozu s Tokyo Story Generations don t battle, they mostly clash into each other. We see this in our very own lives, where parents bring up their past and say, If only you knew how good you have it! . This will forever be somewhat a problem in the past, present, and future of our lives. One generation will always be underestimated or beyond correct then the other. In Yasujiro Ozu s film Tokyo Story we see constant clashing of the elderly and the youth. Ozu s message of how the generations have changed is a way of him defining to us what the human struggle is. Due to the character s actions in the way they treat each other we can pick up on the struggles that they are having and see the human struggle in the film. At the start of the film, Ozu shows us two of the main characters of the film; Shukichi and Tomi. We see them packing their bags to go on a trip. They are going to see their children whom, they haven t seen in a long while. We can see that Ozu is showing us that becoming old is one struggle that most humans fear, but of course it must occur in our lives. When the old slow couple are packing, Shukichi asks Tomi where the inflatable pillow is and Tomi responds and says that she gave it to him. With aging comes forgetfulness and stubbornness; and when Tomi says she gave it to him he starts to say no you didn t, you still have it. Later we see it appear in his bag where he said it wasn t and nothing is said when he finds it. It is simply brushed away with no argument to follow. Ozu shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First, it will portray the four dimensions of the qualitative research: positivism, postpositivism, constructivism and objectivism, which are divided into epistemological and ontological. Secondly, it will describe the definition and basic concepts of the qualitative research; and thirdly, it will represent the five methods possible while conducting a qualitative research: phenomenology, ethnography, action research, grounded theory, and case study. The film, released in 1997, was a global box office hit because the director provided equal importance to history, fiction and romance. To be specific, one can see that the film s plot is based upon the history of RMS Titanic. On the other side, the main characters including the protagonist and the heroine (Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater/Dawson) are fictional characters. Besides, the element of romance between the main characters (Jack and Rose) is the film s main attraction. Within this context, the director made use of flashback technique to unearth the romantic story of the lovers in the film. To be specific, the plot moves from present condition (say, 1996) to past (say, 1912) and to present (1996). In the opening scene, the director portrays the effort of Brock Lovett (say, a treasure hunter) to unearth the secret behind a necklace sunk with RMS Titanicin 1912. Gradually, the director portrays the love affair between Rose and Jack. In the end, Rose drops the necklace into the Ocean and returns. The film ends with a fictional reunion between the lovers. B. At least that is what Paul Bowles and Cormac McCarthy seem to be saying in the writing of their respective books, The Sheltering Sky and Blood Meridian. Both authors place their characters in difficult locations, dealing with difficult people and expect them to emerge changed, for better or for worse. In The Sheltering Sky, Bowles takes his American trio and places them in the desert landsof the African continent where the wide, dry impossibly desolate terrain takes its toll on their minds and bodies. Kit, in The Sheltering Sky, learns some very interesting things about herself through the course of our travels with her. She starts out as Port s wife, a secondary character of sorts, afraid to voice her opinions on virtually everything. We have the inside track on her thought s and feelings though, and are privy to the fact that she is unhappy not only with her situation and current location, but also with her marriage and identity. We get our first glimpse of her realization of these problems on her train ride with Tunner, as Port is traveling with the Lyles. Her spontaneous affair with Tunner is a symptom of her unhappiness and is the beginning of a downward spiral that takes her to the brink of insanity and far beyond. We see the beginning of her growth in her encounter in the Fourth Class cabin of the train when see comes in close contact with the miserable peasant folk and she realizes that aside from their cultural differences she is no better than these simple folk and in some ways she is far worse. • 16. multicultural counseling Essay Multicultural Counseling After reading the many articles on the notion of diagnosis and counseling with multicultural/ethnic patients, it has come to my attention that this focus is solely based on stereotypical attitudes. Sure, it can be said that it is important for a therapist to have a background of the patient s heritage and culture, but doesn t this necessarily mean that the outlook of the therapist will be put in a box by doing so? I think multicultural competency is a ridiculous way to improve patient therapist relationships because of several reasons. First off, generalities and race centralisms only hinder, not improve, the inner workings of a therapy session. Second, there is no real way to test ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This bias will be formed in the classroom in which multicultural competency takes place. If therapists are taught certain things about certain races, they have no choice but to implement these issues into their practice. I think the implementation of any sort of knowledge is absolutely dependent on the patient and what is the nature of their illness. If there is a model for competency involving multicultural issues, the therapist, especially, is forced to look at the information taught to s/he in the study for the competency. After going through the process of understanding multicultural issues (however this is possible) and having passed the exam that tells them that they are multiculturally competent, a strange occurrence will take place when putting these studies into practical use in the therapy environment. Let s say that therapist Dr. Harry Potter has a new patient coming in for the first time today. Her name is Janet Lee. Already by having been a part of society for 40 some years, Potter makes the assumption that Lee is a Chinese name; therefore his new patient is Chinese. Potter then puts on his therapists hat and thinks back to what he learned in his competency class about Chinese patients. He remembers what he learned of their relationships with their parents, their understandings of the US and how they feel about therapy. Now Janet walks in. They began conversing. • 17. Analysis Of Forgiving My GuiltAndForgive My Guilt Responsibility is an important quality that mature people possess. People make mistakes, but the maturity level of a person is determined by whether or not the person takes responsibility for their errors. The short story The Man Who Was Almost a Man by Richard Wright and the lyric poem Forgive My Guiltby Robert Coffin both fixate on young boys who wrongly take the lives of creatures with a weapon. The short storyand the lyric poem share a common theme regarding the significance of early life experiences to the maturation process as seen in the way the main characters react to their mistakes. Dave in The Man Who was Almost a Man runs away from his problems while the narrator in Forgive My Guilt holds himself accountable for his action and feels guilty. In the short story, The Man Who Was Almost a Man, Richard Wright uses colloquial language to develop the theme. For instance, in the scene where Dave is accused of killing the mule, the difference in speech used by Dave, a black sharecropper, and Jim Hawkins, his white employer, is evident. Jim Hawkins uses a more formal language when talking to Dave: Well, looks like you have you a mule, Dave (5). In stark contrast, Dave responds using a more informal way of speaking: Ah swear fo Gawd, Ah didn t go t kill the mule, Mistah Hawkins (5). The speech in the story shows the varying degrees of education of the characters in the story and depicts the segregation in the South between whites and blacks. Dave is also a ... Conduct Forcible Entry Operations During The Korean War Essay The current amphibious concepts and capabilities of the US ensure that we are better prepared to conduct forcible entry operations than we were during the landing at Inchon, and subsequent liberation of Seoul. Amphibious concepts, such as seabasing, amphibious command and control (C2), and the Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) allow forces to project power across domains. Proof of concept exercises like Bold Alligator continue to refine our amphibious capability to provide flexible, scalable, responsive forces that can conduct a multitude of missions. Inchon, during the Korean War, highlights the benefit of maneuver warfare and joint operations. However, security operations, intelligence, and speed were deficient during Operation CHROMITE. World War II demonstrated a lack of preparedness to conduct amphibious operations in the Pacific by the US and Great Britain. The Pacific Campaign and Inchon prove the need to maintain a professional amphibious force and the importance of concepts like seabasing, C2, and the ESG in amphibious operations. Oxalate Lab Essay Dr. Hjorth Gustin Chemistry 201 Lab November 8th, 2010 Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice: 2Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution. The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... An aqueous solution of the iron oxalate salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis by measuring the volume of titrant. Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III) oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part 1. Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs. concentration data. District 9 also shows a strong use of vibrant landscape, particularly obvious in the use of contrast between the modern, clean, ordered landscape of the MNU buildings and the desolate, junkyard, slum like ghetto of District 9 itself. It also shows the balance of power between them, and it s evident when the MNU conducts a raid into District 9, where the clean uniforms and vehicles of the MNU, a contrast to the ramshackle buildings and filthy, ragged clothing of the prawns . I had never led through the Honors College before this semester nor had I ever felt so involved and included within the Honors College. Being an Honors Year One mentor has allowed me to grow in ways that I would have never grown if it was not for this experience. Through my experience, I have made friends, realized what all the Honors College has to offer and connect freshmen with others. I learned how I lead best, how to not always be the leader, what my strengths are and how to use them to their full potential, and what needs to happen differently next semester in hopes to improve the experience for the freshmen. I thought our mentor class was absolutely phenomenal. Tiffany continuously led us well and reigned us in well when we needed to get down to business. Her leadership, council, and example made a difference for me when leading my freshmen. She was also very encouraging, which was much needed. At the beginning, I was intimidated by Rebecca being in our class each week. However, the intimidation faded, and I quickly learned to appreciate her. She had many great suggestions as well as a great insight. I may be an extrovert, but on the first day of our mentor class, I was very intimidated and nervous. I had no earthly idea what to expect. That cloudy Thursday, I felt my soul beginning to crumble. I laid back in the passenger seat of our modest rust colored Toyota, barely listening to music playing over my headphones, mostly wallowing in my gentle throbs of weariness, and a stressful fear of prolonging the journey. I knew my mother felt the same way, from the way she clutched at the steering wheel, and from the way her sunken eyes looked for the next turn. I had invested a lot of hope into the idea of a fresh start, but not all of it. I had that desperate teenage need to escape, and thought of Ohio as a place to get away. I thought of it as a new life. A place to get away from the cramped stairwells, up to cramped apartments. A place to get away from the display case of city life. • 43. How We Waste Power and Carbon Dioxide Did you know that lighting a typical office overnight wastes enough energy to heat water for one thousand cups of tea (Climate Care.org). This is only one of many examples of how we waste power and Carbon dioxide. Almost everything we do releases carbon dioxide emissions, and in different amounts. We can save money and CO2 by reducing our carbon footprints, which is the total quantity of greenhouse gases that someone produces. Although we don t think about them very often, a carbon footprint is part of everyone s life because it s measured on things we use, our actions create and waste CO2, and several people have worked to find energy saving ways to reduce them and help the environment. A carbon footprint is measured by using several different variables about someone s lifestyle. It s important to note that depending on where someone may live influences their impact on their carbon footprint. Just as Stephanie Pappas mentioned; In California, for example, electricity generation is relatively climate friendly, so focusing on vehicular emissions has a greater impact . Using an online calculator can show anyone how much CO2 they use on average, by answering the questions provided. PVD includes both the veins and the arteries. In PVD there is a problem with blood flow due to a narrowing of blood vessels which is occurring from a different pathology. The most common cause of PVD is atherosclerosis. Patients with PVD can range from asymptomatic to severe and require amputations (Giorgi 2015). Etiology Peripheral vascular disease is divided into subcategories of functional and organic. Functional PVD does not involve physical problems in the blood vessels. It causes incidental or short term symptoms. These are usually spasms that occur erratically. Organic PVD involves changes in blood vessel structure. This type of PVD causes inflammation, tissue damage, and blockages (Giorgi 2015). The number one leading cause of peripheral vascular disease is atherosclerosis. This is a gradual process in which a fatty material builds up inside the arteries (emedicinehealth 2015).
