Nt1310 Unit 8 Lab Report
The relation between IC and IB is as follows: IC = Гџ x IB 50 1000 Where Гџ is known as the
current emitter gain (Storr, 2013). Figure 4: Output Characteristics Curves of a Typical Bipolar
Transistor (Amos James, 2000) With reference to figure 4, it can be seen that IC is largely
unaffected when VCE is more than 1.0V. This is because it is almost completely controlled by IB,
which is the base current. This means that the circuit is controlled by a constant current source. The
straight line drawn shows the saturation point at A, and the cut off point at B when IC=0. This
results in a Q point as seen in the middle of figure 4. When VC is much greater than VE, the
transistor conducts. Transistors have the ability... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By manipulating the key characteristics of the Schmitt trigger, it produces different frequencies
fed to the speaker to operate. One key component of the Schmitt trigger is to determine the high
and low thresholds at 3V. This is done with the help of the data sheet values as presented in the
appendix below. The next section 3.2 contains a detailed explanation of the design process. As
mentioned earlier, this process is broken down into three different segments. The two tone speaker
was constructed using both active and passive components as alluded to in the introduction. The
relaxation oscillators were responsible for the generation of the two noise tones, the switching of
the tones and the frequency at which the tones switch. It is then passed through a 1k resistor and
finally through a transistor which is connected to the tone section of the circuit. The transistor in
this case acts as an amplifier, and its main purpose is to amplify the final signal and supply it to the
speaker, making it audible. The simulations are tested and recorded under section

The Causes and Impacts of Hallucinations on the Patient
The Causes and Impacts of Hallucinations After undergoing a hallucination, the experience can
change the rest of a person s life. Many different things including stress, drugs, obsession, lack of
sleep, a rough childhood, devotion to God, etc. can cause hallucinations. Throughout history, many
people have experienced hallucinations in reality and literature. Hallucinations can affect someone
positively or negatively. During the Romantic era, many poets used opium believing that it
produced creativity. Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Khanby Samuel Taylor Coleridge are
results from his opium use and hallucinations. In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, Macbeth
undergoes a hallucinationthat leads to his downfall. In the novel Don Quixote, Don Quixote
experiences extreme hallucinations that resulted into insanity. The Spanish artist, Salvador Dali,
experienced many hallucinations throughout his life that caused his artwork to be very unique and
different. During the Medieval and Renaissance time periods, many people became extremely
devoted to their faith. Some claimed that they had experienced a heavenly figure come down and
look at them. After their mystic experiences, they became different people in a beneficial way.
Experiencing hallucinations can cause enhanced creativity, paranoia, insanity, or a more devout
faith. During the Romantic time period, many poets took the drug, opium to produce hallucinations.
Everything known about opium seemed positive and beneficial

How Did The Conversion Of Constantine Influence The Spread...
All through the middles ages, Christianity was a significant part of the society and political issues.
Christianity was born when Jesus of Nazareth was crucified in the city of Jerusalem in the year 33
AD. After his fatality, Jesus Apostles left Israel and started to get the message out of about God and
the faith of Christianity. By the medieval times, Christianity was the major church in Europe. Two
significant occasions which had a dominant effect on the improvement of Christianity was the
conversion of Constantine and the Crusades.
Constantine the Great was a Roman Emperor who was born on the 27th of February, 272 AD.

This includes reclamation of property, reimbursements of losses and legal rights in disputes. After
the edict of Milan was issued by Constantine, Christianity became more accepting and Christians
would not be punished for their beliefs. Christianity is a worldwide religion which has grown and
will continue to grow as Constantine helped in the spread of Christianity. Constantine also
recognised that Sunday was a sacred day for Christians and declared this day as an official day of
rest. He also supported the church financially, built many churches around Europe, provided tax
exemptions to the clergy and promoted Christians to higher positions. As there were many positives
to Constantine s conversion to Christianity there are also some negatives. Which includes;
Constantine had a monarchical control over the entire church, as he controlled the Christians in his
empire. Constantine even maid the bishops his personal assistants and had to do what he said.
Because Constantine favoured Christians many of them were given religious powers and political
powers so they owed their life to him. After Constantine abused his power many Christians accepted
to the desserts to become harmonic. Therefore Constantine drastically impacted Christianity in both
good and bad

Mexican Folk Songs Or Corridos
Mexican folk songs or corridos have encounter great change over the years. Some of the changes
of corridos can be credited to the different culture we live in now. Corridos in the past have been
about the Mexican American War, but most recently corridos began to be about life struggles
such as immigration and the violent drug war. While the topics of corridos have changed over
the years, corridos keep a familiar format with focusing on key issues of oppression, daily life, and
socially relevant events. In addition, corridos may help spread attention to events going around
society that has not been brought up in the media. This at time may be informative or controversial
depending on what the artist feel like talking about. Corridos try be about current issues to stay
revelate in the music industry. Corridos have a huge following in Mexicobecause of its strong roots.
Its speculated that corridos originated during the Mexican American war to narrate the battles and
war generals of those wars. Much has changed since that Mexican American war era, but one thing
still remains and that the popularity of corridos. Although corridos have much of the same structure
as the past, they have changed in a great deal because of the different trends going on in society
Moreover, corridos are known for their style of play. They re frequently played in conjuntos or
bands. Corridos in addition can be played by separate groups such as mariachie and tejeano. The

Why Do Students Should Participate In Music Programs
Today, many schools focus on preparing their students for their lives beyond the classrooms. They
do so by focusing their limited resources on programs that they deem necessary for a proper
education. Furthermore, when schools make cut backs, music programs are one of the first to be
terminated. Ironically, musicembodies many of the subjects that are not eliminated: mathematics,
history, science, reading, etc. Music requires self discipline, accountability, and teamwork: traits
that most employers seek in young applicants. Students should participate in music programs
because they foster cognitive development, inspire teamwork, and encourage students to adapt a
solid work ethic.
There are numerous benefits of participating in music programs;

Differences Between Estabrook And Mcdougle
Although Estabrook and McDougle concluded their fieldwork by July 1925, in time to publish
their findings, Davenport expressed serious concerns over the characterizations of the community
contained in the study. These and other internal issues relating to salary and expense disputes
between Estabrook and the ERO threw the study s publication into doubt. During this time,
Estabrook also began other research and his employment with the ERO ended. Eventually the
study was published in 1926 as Mongrel Virginians: The WIN Tribe. By this time the publicity
for the book had largely fallen to McDougle who took primary responsibility for dispensing
copies to the Anglo Saxon Clubs and other interested parties. Mongrel Virginians confirmed many
of the primary theories advanced by the Anglo Saxon Clubs regarding the immorality and mental
deficiency that they believed resulted from racial mixing. In discussing the public perception of
the group s racial mixture Estabrook and McDougle offered the following: They are described
variously as low down yellow negroes as Indians, as mixed, No one however speaks of them as
white. Writing about the consanguinity practiced within the group, Estabrook and McDougle
attributed it to social barriers established between the WIN and whites and blacks residing outside
of Ab county. Having hoped that the study would provide him new ammunition in his racial
integrity fight against the state s Indians, Plecker was

Comparison Of Aldous Huxley s Nineteen Eighty-Four
George Orwell also took influence from authors who were active in his own lifetime, such as
English author Aldous Huxley. Orwell s novel Nineteen Eighty Four most commonly gets
compared to Aldous Huxley s novel Brave New World, which was originally published in 1932,
seventeen years before Orwell published his own anti totalitarian work. Comparable to Nineteen
Eighty Four, Brave New Worldis a dystopian novel in which a political agenda is discussed via a
fabricated government. However, while similarities can be drawn, the two differ in their content.
In Brave New World, Huxley s fictional society is controlled by drugs and efforts to distract its
citizens who are immersed in a world of technology that could only have been dreamed of at the...

In the same fashion that he took influence from the writings of other authors before him, authors
in the generations after him have done the same. Margaret Atwood, whose novel The Handmaid
s Tale (1985) has sparked political interest in its recent resurgence much as Orwell s works have,
was inspired by Orwell s ideologies, mainly those represented in Animal Farm. As previously
mentioned, Orwell is no novice at creating dystopian societies, a skill that Atwood, too, shows in
The Handmaid s Tale, the plot of which centers around the handmaids (women) being used
strictly for reproductive purposes. The more substantial influence, however, is the use of satire
in literature. In Animal Farm, Orwell created a politically satirical society of animals meant to
represent the regime under Joseph Stalin, whom he opposed. In The Handmaid s Tale, however,
Atwood used satire for social justices rather than a political agenda, though the two often
coincide. Atwood takes a dystopian view of a world in which women are used as objects to keep
the population alive and uses it to make readers understand why feminism is needed; if women
are not allowed to choose what they are able to do with their bodies, be it abortion or birth control,
they will soon only be seen as a means of

Comparing Gruwell, Miss Campbell, And Eva Benitez In...
In both movies there are key individuals, organizations, movements, and programs. In the Freedom
Writers, some key individuals are Erin Gruwell, Miss Campbell, and Eva Benitez. Ms. Gruwell
believed in her students. She knew that they can learn and was determined to teach them; she was
an extremely involved teacher. She played a role in solving the divisions of race tensions between
ethnic groups by teaching her students to tolerate and understand one another. Miss. Campbell was
apart of the administration at the school. She opposed Erin s teaching tactics. She also thinks Mrs.
Gruwell s students can t be trusted and are lost causes. Miss. Campbell is part of the reason that the
students are not getting the educationthey need. Eva Benitez is one of the main student character
in the movie. She resisted Ms. Gruwell s teaching the most, but by the end of the movie she grew
as a student and person. Eva is a third generation gang member and is a prime example of how
gang violence is a problem in their school... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Family Systems Therapy And Structural Family Therapy
Historically, the field of social work and its practitioners have been concerned with the welfare of
families and their functioning. When dysfunction is present, families often seek guidance through
family therapy, which has become a strengths based approach to intervention that emphasizes
families resiliency and capacity to solve their problems. Within familypractice, practitioners
implement diverse theoretical approaches and practice models, which function as a foundation for
family assessment and intervention methods. This paper seeks to explicate two family intervention
models, Bowen family systems therapy and structural family therapy, and utilize the most effective
approach to develop a treatment plan for a family seeking therapy.
Family Intervention Models
Bowen Family Systems Therapy Rooted in systems theory, Murray Bowen s Bowen family systems
therapy acknowledges the family as a multigenerational emotional system (Nichols, 2013). This
model perceives the family as an interconnected network of emotional reactivity that shapes family
dynamics and interaction patterns. Bowen proposed eight interlocking concepts to elucidate
familial patterns: differentiation of self, triangles, nuclear family emotional system, family
projection process, multigenerational transmission process, emotional cutoff, sibling position, and
societal emotional process (Nichols, 2013). It also views families through an individual and
collective lens, assessing how members emotionally driven

Analysis Of The Poem The Yard Of An Old Married Couple
Out in the yard of an old married couple, there grew a peach tree that flourished with fruit every
year, and every year the routine was the same. When summer arrived, each day the old couple
would walk outside to pick the ripest peaches on their tree. Some days, they would walk home
proudly with a basket full of ripe peaches, giddy with excitement for what they might bake with
their prized fruit. But every once in a while, they would come home with very few peaches,
allowing them to solemnly eat their fresh fruit instead of a concocted sweet treat.
One particular day, as the couple walked to their peach tree, they giggled about what they might
bake that night. They listed peach cobbler, peach jam on biscuits, or even a peach pie! The
possibilities were endless. When they arrived to their tree, in a joking tone, the old woman spoke to
the tree.
Peaches, she hooted, are you ready to be picked?
Yeah, peaches, will you grant me and my beloved wife your sweet taste? laughed her husband.
The wind started to roar the suddenly dark sky sent a chill down the old mans spine. Every limb
on their beloved peach tree began to shiver and sway. Creak! Creak! The tree branches said as they
bent down over the now humbled old couple.
What is going on? the old man whispered to his wife.
I.... I don t know, she whispered back in a cracked voice.

The Importance Of Leadership In Macbeth
William Shakespeare is known world wide as one of the greatest English writers, although many
people still speculate Shakespeare s plays are just books that concedes of entertainment, drama,
horror, or etc. They also objectify that there is nothing to learn from Shakespeare s plays. But that
statement is false. In the play Macbethit teaches the audience that leadership can be challenging.
For my first point, leadership can be challenging because you must be wary of everyone and not
trust anyone, even if they re allies. For my second point, there will always be someone in your
way. For my third and final point, appearances can be deceiving. These are my reasons on why
leadership can be challenging. Within my first point, leadership can be challenging because you
must be wary of everyone and not trust anyone, even if they re allies. Anyone can betray you in
an instant, betrayal is common and adequately betray you on purpose to eradicate you from your
position as a leader. Placing a lot of trust you built with someone could be dangerous, even the
closest friends. Not everyone is an ally, many would take you down to simply gain the ability of
leadership you have. For example, in the play Macbeth, Duncan and the thane of Cawdor. He
was a gentleman on whom I built an absolute trust (1. 2. L. 15 16) Duncan says. As well as
Duncan and Macbeth. Where s the thane of Cawdor? We coursed him at the heels, and had a

The Telegraph The idea behind the telegraph was to send electric signals across wires. This

Eventually following was a system which used Morse code. Professor Samuel Morse had
successfully secured funding and in 1843 a telegraph system was produced from Washington D.C.
to Baltimore. The success of the system was seen and by 1861 the first transcontinental telegraph
line was built. The telegraph was a very simple 3 part machine. It had a battery, electromagnet, and
a key to connect and disconnect the two parts. Every time the key was tapped, an electrical pulse

The goal of these moves is to re define the company as a true high tech company with a focus on
health care as opposed to a health care revenue cycle vendor that has technology. They also want to
take advantage of the local IT talent pool and attract the best and brightest.
The company s portfolio has always included a software and hardware component, but has
recently changed its platform to SaaS (software as a service). The SaaS solution is typically
accessed by customers using a web service and has become a common delivery model for many

away from costly, difficult and hard to maintain software/hardware implementations.
Unfortunately, during this transition to the new platform lots of customers will still need to use the

all customers have successfully moved to the new platform. Sun setting legacy solutions has not

The Transformation Of Prince Shakespeare s Hamlet
The Transformation of Prince Hamlet from Good to Evil Nobody is born evil. Though there are
many evil people in the world today, becoming evil is the combination of multiple events that take
place. Just like Hamlet, the transformation from good to evil is very common. Although it is
different for every individual, this process is easier for some to go through than it is for others. In
Hamlets case, the events that slowly change him prove to be quite unbearable. It is people that
mean the most to him that lead him to change, not because he wants to, but because he has to.
They cause Hamlet to lose his mind, drive him insane, and in the end, it was a loss for everyone
that was involved.
From the beginning of the play, Hamlet is labelled as a heavy hearted and unhappy man. This is
seen as Hamlet s Transformation as the King called it. He has not always been like this. In
Shakespeare s play, Hamlet, Prince Hamlet experiences many dilemmas that lead him to revenge
and his transformation form good to evil. Shakespeare displays that revenge leads to insanity.
Hamlet s mother, Gertrude, Hamlet s uncle also known as his step father, Claudius, and Hamlet s
dead father, King Hamlet, all drive Hamlet to lose his mind and become insane. This change in
Hamlet is brought to him by devastating and life changing events that have recently happened, and
did not only cause a mental reaction, but specifically a moral reaction.
Gertrude pushes Hamlet beyond his breaking point and puts

Determining for sure whether there are grounds to object to the search and seizure requires
review of all of the reports regarding the case. Depending on the nature and quantity of the drugs

Officer had probable cause to affect a traffic stop after he observed defendant following too closely.
Defendant s and passenger s behavior after stop provided reasonable suspicion to expand the

Oklahoma than it is in any other state. All states have to follow the US Supreme Court s decisions

It would be true that once an officer has conducted a pat down search and determined that there

How Language Changes Start and Spread Essay
Language change happens every day. New words are constantly being added and new dialects are
forming. People have always argued about the causes of language change and tried to control the
changes that occurred but ultimately they accomplished nothing. Languages changes and spread as
a result of the people who use it daily. African American Englishand California English are both
examples of the different ways languagecan change. People try to resist the changes in their
language because they do not want to see it change. Language change is a natural process that can
be affected by others but never stopped. This course has done an excellent job explaining how

As different dialects of a language develop they are shared with the people of the area. People
often use the dialect of those that they interact with most. To explain this simply, a person who
only speaks Chicano English is fine in their daily interactions with other speakers of the dialect but
they may have trouble speaking with a Northern Dialect. The spread of language change depends
on the factors that are causing it. The natural change in language over time smarts in a small area
and spreads to everyone that it comes in contact with.
This course focused on a numerous languages that were undergoing change. The simplest and
most relevant for many Americans are the changes that are occurring in English. America is a
great melting pot of different people and as such English s multiple dialects reflect cultural
diversity. One of the most studied and still not understood dialects is African American English.
The point of contention between the ideas for the origin of African American English is whether
it was based on an existing dialect in the south or if it was creole of English and different West
African languages. Either way this is an example of a rapid language change that has persisted
over time. It is illogical to believe that the slaves who were forced to learn English did not
incorporate some of their own language. How else could they have communicated before they fully
understood English. An example of slower language

Leadership As A Charismatic Leader
Numerous of leaders especially in the church are considered charismatic. Before the 1980 s,
charisma was not a major topic of discussion. The Charismatic approach is measured to reflect a
particular kind of leader. They are usually strong self confident individuals that portray competency.
Their followers tend to mimic the goals and leadershipstyle of the charismatic leader. They are
gifted in articulating their ideas, plans and goals to others while creating an ambiance that says, do
as I do. They can articulate a compelling or captivating vision and can arouse strong emotions in
followers. Despite the controversy about the originality of the charismatic leader, they are effective

It provides information about biblical leadership such as David, Jesus, and Paul whose leadership

charismatic approaches of men like Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy, Barak Obama
who swept the nation off their feet because of the resounding eloquent speeches that many young

Are Charismatic Leaders Born or Made?
First and foremost, charisma in the Greek means divinely inspired gifts, only God can give these
kinds of gifts. Because high self confidence and strong conviction in one s beliefs is a given factor

The Social Origins Of Marxism
DOES EXPLORING THE SOCIAL ORIGINS OF MARXISM ASSIST IN UNDERSTANDING
ITS STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES?
Marx is credited as being one of the founding fathers of sociology and the social sciences (along
with Durkheim and Weber). Marx lived through the majority of the 19th century (1818 1883), when
the Industrial Revolution and capitalism were at their peak, and his work was a critical analysis of
this relatively new form of society. The aim of this essay is to explore the social origins of Marx
s theories with a look to assess how useful these social origins are when it comes to understanding
the strengths and weaknesses of his theories. I will first briefly describe some of Marx s most well
known theories of Human Nature, the Proletariat and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The products of human work are the objectification of an individual s human nature; the individual
is in what he makes and through this objectification we ultimately come to understand ourselves
(ibid: 92). Furthermore, the application of the human mind s unlimited conceptual abilities to our
work means an unconstrained life with unlimited possibilities, and therefore work is what liberates
the human. This is how Marx comes to theorise that work is the distinctive essence of his human
nature that sets us apart from all other species.
However, Marx writes that capitalism has warped this sole idiosyncrasy of humans by placing
an individual s work at the center of his/her survival; it has constrained work to the means by
which we survive, just like an animal, hence Marx s assertion that in a capitalist society the
individual erroneously feels most free in the animal aspects of life like eating, sleeping, and
propagating: What is animal becomes human, and what is human becomes animal (Marx, 1964;
cited from ibid: 95); Marx sees this as problematic for society. Free labour can only be achieved
once the animal aspects of life are satisfied (ibid.), but Marx finds this term ironic; free labour
refers to the legal right of the individual to enter a labour

David Lowery Rhetorical Analysis
Rhetorical Analysis Essay With technology growing more and more each day, it is no surprise that
the music industry is transitioning to rely more and more on online sales. However, problems can
arise from this when artists are taken advantage of by people who illegally download their music

decided to speak up about it. He wrote a letter addressed to the college radio host, Emily, called
Letter to Emily White at NPR All Songs Considered . With this, he also addresses the general
public and calls them to make a change in their music buying, or lack thereof, habits. He explains
that illegally downloading music is not a harmless task and we must understand the effects that it

My Time Working At Sonic Drive-In
The type of jargon that I know is pretty much like the short story example. During my high
school career I spent a little of my time working at Sonic Drive In. In my time working here, I
picked up the normal fast food jargon, although, most people will easily pick up on this as well.
Some of the jargon we used was shortened words such as cb cheeseburger, ff French fries, md

would more than likely not know what I meant until explained. When trying to learn these

The Fractal Geometry Method of English Teaching in Kazakhstan
(Inspired by Mandelbrot s Chaos Theory) Almost all the second language learners in Kazakhstan
have the same schedule every day. They go to schools or universities where lessons are held in
Russian or in Kazakh, they attend additional classes to prepare for the exams also in Russian or
may be in Kazakh sometimes, they are on the job working mainly in Russian, they go to their
English classes, may be they start speaking English a little bit, but then they go home and revert
back to their native tongue again. May be they are making slow improvements in speaking English,
but still it is not enough to be fluent in English. The biggest problem for Kazakhstan students is
that they almost never speak English in their everyday lives. They can do it only attending English
classes and only if their teacher creates such opportunity, so that students can practice oral speech.
Passive listening is okay, but interacting is even better. It is of vital importance for the teachers to
have students speak in the target languageas much as they can, stick to English. That is why
teachers of the English in Kazakhstan need practical, easy to implement, effective methods to
increase the use of the English in the classroom. One of the most effective methods for improving
speaking skills is Fractal Geometry method. The teacher provides students with How to questions

The Theories Of Interpersonal Communication
George Eliot, one of the leading writers of the Victorian era once said that Don t judge a book by
its cover . Nowadays, people tend to judge others by appearance without even starting a
conversation; but, people will find out they are wrong after communicated with each other. This
kind of situation can clearly be defined by the theories of interpersonal communication.
Interpersonal communication is a study of exchanging information between two or more people.
There are message sending and message receiving during an interpersonal communication. A
successful interpersonal communication is when the receiver understands the message from the
sender or a group of people understand the sender s words with the same meaning. In this essay, I

Nonverbal messages occurs during nonverbal communication; Nonverbal communication is
communication without words. One communicates nonverbally when he/she gesture, smile or
frown, widen his/her eyes, move his/her chair closer to someone and so on (DeVito, 129). In the
scene, body communication and eye communication occurs during their conversation. To show that
Jack is pointing at Will, that standing on the entrance, Jack did not use any words but used his body
movement and eye contact on Joshamee. Joshamee receive Jack s message successfully and
accurately, he straight away turns his head to look at Will. This involves the theory of body
communication. Body communication is the gestures he/she make with his/her body and his/her
body s appearance (DeVito, 129). This also involves theory of eye communication. Eye
communication is explained by using Occulesis s concept. Occulesis is the study of the messages
communicated by the eyes, which vary depending on the duration, direction, and quality of the eye
behavior (DeVito, 133). Next, the theory of culture and gesture under nonverbal communication
occurs during their conversation. [They] consider a few common gestures that often use without

The Boston Massacre And The Boston Tea Party
Most people don t realize that it took alot to get America were it is now. But the main reason we are

up to the American revolution. But there are three main ones that really were what got the
american revolution under way. Those events were the townshend acts, the Boston massacre, and
the Boston tea party.
To start off, the townshend acts were a series of taxations which taxed lead, glass, paint, tea and
other goods. Colonist were very angry about all of these taxations. So they decide to boycott by
not getting the goods that were being taxed. Because of all of the boycotting the townshend acts
were repealed all except for tea. Because of tea not being repealed one of the most historical events
in history would happen but that will happen later on.
Next off, the boston massacre was one of the biggest factors leading up to the American revolution.
How the boston massacre happened was that soldiers were sent to boston to keep peace but the
constant presence of the soldiers always being there irritated the colonists very much. And to top it
off the soldiers were harassing women and children. The actual shooting at the boston massacre

The Expulsion of Freedom
According to Jean Jacques Rousseau, human beings are bestowed with the blessings of freedom
during their individual genesis on this fruitful planet, but this natural freedom is immensely
circumscribed as it s exchanged for the civil liberties of the State. He indicated that the supplanting
of natural freedom is necessary for the obtainment of greater power for the greater collective
community, but the prospect of obtaining superlative capabilities comes with the price of
constraints. Yet this notion of natural freedom conflicts with Thomas Hobbesrendition on the state

The illusion of a free society with unbiased laws created by the collective and ratified by the
legislator, enables the society to have a sense of morality and perform a ceremonial civic duty to
uphold the laws they finance with commitment. Rousseau states in the opening page that, Man is
born free, but everywhere he is in chains. One thinks himself the master of others, and still remains
a greater slave than they. These chains that Rousseau refer to are the constraints that are
strategically placed on the freedom of the residents of the state. Since laws consult the public
interest of the people collectively and suppress the private interest of the individual, they are
essentially chains on the minds and souls of mankind, because people are used as vessels by the
state to fulfill its agenda, under the guise and illusion of individual power to implement change in
the collective.
The author of Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes eloquently emphasizes that the state of nature is, in its
rawest essence, chaotic and savage. In Chapter thirteen of his work Leviathan, he depreciates man s
role in the state of nature by saying, the life of man, solitary, poore , nasty, brutish and short (pg.
186). From his perspective, due to the fact that humans dwell in this catatonic state of destitution,
humans naturally yearn for peace. Hobbes suggest that through the formulation of Leviathan
through a social contract, achieving peace is a more

a serious issue that was previously left for him, he had to solve the Ukraine conflict. The power
of the Society, or legislative, constituted by them, can never be supposed to extend farther that the
common good. (Locke) This shows that Putin did this to better the good of his people, while
doing so he also made his country even safer than it was originally. Solving the Ukraine conflict
allowed people within and around that area to feel safer. Instead of being neutral in the situation
like other countries, he got involved. Putin may appear fierce but he has a soft spot for the safety
of his own and others.
Vladimir Putin s personality and his policies are all based off Hobbes and Locke. When
describing Putin s personality Hobbes was the better comparison point. But, when it comes to his
policies, they can be both represented by Hobbes and

containment of communism. Truman pledged to assist any country by way of money, equipment
and advice that had suffered during WWII and was threatened by a communist takeover. The
purpose of this source is to inform us as to what the Truman Doctrine consisted of and the reason as
to why the Doctrine was introduced which was too protect Western Europe from what it saw as a
communist threat and therefore contain the spread of communism.

viewing it as evil and despised the communist regime. This sheds light on the importance that
President Truman was prepared to take action in order to stop the further spread of communism.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Denzel Washington s Make A...
As Denzel Washington stands before the graduates of Dillard University at their commencement
ceremony, he saw an opportunity to encourage them of future success through his Make a
Difference speech. To appeal to his audience, he uses logos when he introduces tips on success. He
said to Remember that just because you re doing a lot more doesn t mean you re getting a lot more
done. Don t confuse movement with progress (Washington). This then helps the audienceclearly
understand how to begin this mission to success. As his use of logos was meant to provide
instructions, he applies ethos to obtain credibility when he states that he was once flunking out of
college. I had a 1.7 grade point average. I hope none of you can relate. I had a 1.7 grade point
average (Washington). The speaker wants to be a relatable example to all the graduates that he is
standing before. Throughout this speech, Washington efficiently utilizes diction, tone, and
repetition to appeal to the graduates and encourage them to dream.
To begin, Washington is standing upon the stage to provide uplifting words as these students
move on to greater things. He uses words such as dream , aspire and success (Washington), to
provide motivation for them to become more improved and promising individuals. These words are
all encouraging and positive for the purpose of influencing the graduates to pursue a fruitful life
and to continue dreaming of more prosperity and goodness. While he is telling his

Essay About Moving Out
I raise my head out of the water and gulp down air, then push myself with everything I have left
to get to the other end of the pool, after a few seconds I feel the edge of the pool and I push myself
up. My coach hits the stopwatch and I look around, several other people are just now finishing
too. I got first place! I get out of the pooland run over to my friends who are waiting for me. You
did amazing! Alison says excitedly. So did you! We all did a great job today. I reply, Alison had
also gotten a first place ribbon for the butterfly stroke. After awards had been handed out I hurried
home and got dressed, ready to go hiking as a Saturday tradition for my family. Hiking, along with

We started by reading one of our favorite Christmas stories, and playing games. Then my dad
stands up and gets our attention We are going to be moving to Utah he said. Me and my siblings
smile at each other in light hearted ways, we all remember how our parents, aunts, and uncles
were joking about us moving to Utah. Then my mom adds in how they have thought hard about
whether we should move or not, and that they have come to a conclusion. I continue to smile
joke fully as I look up to my parents to let them know I have already caught on to their scheme,
but when I look up, I can tell my parents aren t joking. Suddenly, a thousand thoughts enter my
head. How could I have thought they were joking, I had seen them casually looking over houses
a few times the past week, but I didn t ever think they were serious about moving. When, I say
after a minute of silence as each one of my brothers and my sister realizes also, that my parents
are serious. I expect my parents to say something like four months, or finally confess that they
were joking, but what I hear come out of their mouth isn t what I had expected. Two weeks, my
mom said. None of the kids had expected that, and immediately we started asking

Examples Of Infidelity In The Great Gatsby
In The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald portrays the psychological issues of the 1920s through
many of his characters.
Prior to Gatsby, the reader meets George, a hardworking, faithful man. Throughout the novel,
this description does not waver, until he comes to the realization that his wife is cheating on
him. At this point he proceeds to reveal a possessive and manipulative personality, locking his
wife in the house and planning to move away with her, (Adamson). His immediate actions are
somewhat understandable. Becoming jealous and possessive is a natural reaction to a spouse
being unfaithful. I told her she might fool me but she couldn t fool God. I took her to the
window with effort he got up and walked to the rear window and leaned with his face pressed
against it and I said God knows what you ve been doing, everything you ve been doing. You may
fool me but you can t fool God, (Fitzgerald 159)! Another reaction to infidelity is violence but the
already unstable state of Wilson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another form of dishonesty and disloyalty is infidelity, which pervades the novel. Almost every
couple is affected by this. In Chapter 1 we learn that Tom has got some womanin New York and
find out later that he is a serial womaniser, (Adamson). Tom Buchanan is the leader of the
disloyal, guilt free class. He does not take anyone else s feelings into consideration, specifically
Daisy. I thought everybody knew. I don t. Why she said hesitantly, Tom s got some woman in
New York. Got some woman? I repeated blankly. Miss Baker nodded. She might have the decency
not to telephone him at dinner time. Don t you think, (Fitzgerald 15)? Fitzgerald writes of Tom s
many woman and eludes to him having affairs as the cause of the Buchanans moving to East Egg.
As he takes on any woman that is available, he never thinks of Daisy s feelings once, who has not
been unfaithful before

The Raton-Clayton Volcano
The Raton Clayton Volcanic Field and Capulin Volcano
The Raton Clayton volcanic field is about 20 000 km2 in size, and has been active periodically for
the past 9 million years. The area is filled with peaks, cones, and lava capped mesas. The mesas
developed as lava flowed into valleys and depressions, cooled off and formed a resistant top layer
over sedimentary rocks. As the surrounding rock eroded, the lava protected the underlying
stratigraphy from erosion. This caused todays topography, where that which was once the lowest
point, is now the highest. There is some disagreement over why the volcanic field is here, one
possible cause is that it is near the end of the Jemez Lineament, which has numerous volcanic
centers along its reach, possibly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

which formed a cinder cone around its vent, northeast of the main cone. This is the third youngest
eruption the the Raton Clayton volcanic field, erupting around 36,000 4,000 years ago.
Currently, the field is not active, but it is unknown if that is only temporary. If the Capulin volcano

  • 2. Nt1310 Unit 8 Lab Report The relation between IC and IB is as follows: IC = Гџ x IB 50 1000 Where Гџ is known as the current emitter gain (Storr, 2013). Figure 4: Output Characteristics Curves of a Typical Bipolar Transistor (Amos James, 2000) With reference to figure 4, it can be seen that IC is largely unaffected when VCE is more than 1.0V. This is because it is almost completely controlled by IB, which is the base current. This means that the circuit is controlled by a constant current source. The straight line drawn shows the saturation point at A, and the cut off point at B when IC=0. This results in a Q point as seen in the middle of figure 4. When VC is much greater than VE, the transistor conducts. Transistors have the ability... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By manipulating the key characteristics of the Schmitt trigger, it produces different frequencies fed to the speaker to operate. One key component of the Schmitt trigger is to determine the high and low thresholds at 3V. This is done with the help of the data sheet values as presented in the appendix below. The next section 3.2 contains a detailed explanation of the design process. As mentioned earlier, this process is broken down into three different segments. The two tone speaker was constructed using both active and passive components as alluded to in the introduction. The relaxation oscillators were responsible for the generation of the two noise tones, the switching of the tones and the frequency at which the tones switch. It is then passed through a 1k resistor and finally through a transistor which is connected to the tone section of the circuit. The transistor in this case acts as an amplifier, and its main purpose is to amplify the final signal and supply it to the speaker, making it audible. The simulations are tested and recorded under section ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Constantine also recognised that Sunday was a sacred day for Christians and declared this day as an official day of rest. • 11. Differences Between Estabrook And Mcdougle Although Estabrook and McDougle concluded their fieldwork by July 1925, in time to publish their findings, Davenport expressed serious concerns over the characterizations of the community contained in the study. These and other internal issues relating to salary and expense disputes between Estabrook and the ERO threw the study s publication into doubt. During this time, Estabrook also began other research and his employment with the ERO ended. Eventually the study was published in 1926 as Mongrel Virginians: The WIN Tribe. By this time the publicity for the book had largely fallen to McDougle who took primary responsibility for dispensing copies to the Anglo Saxon Clubs and other interested parties. Mongrel Virginians confirmed many of the primary theories advanced by the Anglo Saxon Clubs regarding the immorality and mental deficiency that they believed resulted from racial mixing. In discussing the public perception of the group s racial mixture Estabrook and McDougle offered the following: They are described variously as low down yellow negroes as Indians, as mixed, No one however speaks of them as white. Writing about the consanguinity practiced within the group, Estabrook and McDougle attributed it to social barriers established between the WIN and whites and blacks residing outside of Ab county. Orwell s novel Nineteen Eighty Four most commonly gets compared to Aldous Huxley s novel Brave New World, which was originally published in 1932, seventeen years before Orwell published his own anti totalitarian work. Margaret Atwood, whose novel The Handmaid s Tale (1985) has sparked political interest in its recent resurgence much as Orwell s works have, was inspired by Orwell s ideologies, mainly those represented in Animal Farm. As previously mentioned, Orwell is no novice at creating dystopian societies, a skill that Atwood, too, shows in The Handmaid s Tale, the plot of which centers around the handmaids (women) being used strictly for reproductive purposes. The more substantial influence, however, is the use of satire in literature. In Animal Farm, Orwell created a politically satirical society of animals meant to represent the regime under Joseph Stalin, whom he opposed. In The Handmaid s Tale, however, Atwood used satire for social justices rather than a political agenda, though the two often coincide. Atwood takes a dystopian view of a world in which women are used as objects to keep the population alive and uses it to make readers understand why feminism is needed; if women are not allowed to choose what they are able to do with their bodies, be it abortion or birth control, they will soon only be seen as a means of ... • 15. Family Systems Therapy And Structural Family Therapy Historically, the field of social work and its practitioners have been concerned with the welfare of families and their functioning. When dysfunction is present, families often seek guidance through family therapy, which has become a strengths based approach to intervention that emphasizes families resiliency and capacity to solve their problems. Within familypractice, practitioners implement diverse theoretical approaches and practice models, which function as a foundation for family assessment and intervention methods. This paper seeks to explicate two family intervention models, Bowen family systems therapy and structural family therapy, and utilize the most effective approach to develop a treatment plan for a family seeking therapy. Family Intervention Models Bowen Family Systems Therapy Rooted in systems theory, Murray Bowen s Bowen family systems therapy acknowledges the family as a multigenerational emotional system (Nichols, 2013). This model perceives the family as an interconnected network of emotional reactivity that shapes family dynamics and interaction patterns. Bowen proposed eight interlocking concepts to elucidate familial patterns: differentiation of self, triangles, nuclear family emotional system, family projection process, multigenerational transmission process, emotional cutoff, sibling position, and societal emotional process (Nichols, 2013). It also views families through an individual and collective lens, assessing how members emotionally driven ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Poem The Yard Of An Old Married Couple Out in the yard of an old married couple, there grew a peach tree that flourished with fruit every year, and every year the routine was the same. When summer arrived, each day the old couple would walk outside to pick the ripest peaches on their tree. Some days, they would walk home proudly with a basket full of ripe peaches, giddy with excitement for what they might bake with their prized fruit. But every once in a while, they would come home with very few peaches, allowing them to solemnly eat their fresh fruit instead of a concocted sweet treat. One particular day, as the couple walked to their peach tree, they giggled about what they might bake that night. They listed peach cobbler, peach jam on biscuits, or even a peach pie! The possibilities were endless. When they arrived to their tree, in a joking tone, the old woman spoke to the tree. Peaches, she hooted, are you ready to be picked? Yeah, peaches, will you grant me and my beloved wife your sweet taste? laughed her husband. The wind started to roar the suddenly dark sky sent a chill down the old mans spine. But that statement is false. In the play Macbethit teaches the audience that leadership can be challenging. For my first point, leadership can be challenging because you must be wary of everyone and not trust anyone, even if they re allies. For my second point, there will always be someone in your way. For my third and final point, appearances can be deceiving. These are my reasons on why leadership can be challenging. Within my first point, leadership can be challenging because you must be wary of everyone and not trust anyone, even if they re allies. Anyone can betray you in an instant, betrayal is common and adequately betray you on purpose to eradicate you from your position as a leader. Placing a lot of trust you built with someone could be dangerous, even the closest friends. Not everyone is an ally, many would take you down to simply gain the ability of leadership you have. Though there are many evil people in the world today, becoming evil is the combination of multiple events that take place. Just like Hamlet, the transformation from good to evil is very common. Although it is different for every individual, this process is easier for some to go through than it is for others. In Hamlets case, the events that slowly change him prove to be quite unbearable. It is people that mean the most to him that lead him to change, not because he wants to, but because he has to. They cause Hamlet to lose his mind, drive him insane, and in the end, it was a loss for everyone that was involved. From the beginning of the play, Hamlet is labelled as a heavy hearted and unhappy man. This is seen as Hamlet s Transformation as the King called it. He has not always been like this. In Shakespeare s play, Hamlet, Prince Hamlet experiences many dilemmas that lead him to revenge and his transformation form good to evil. Shakespeare displays that revenge leads to insanity. Hamlet s mother, Gertrude, Hamlet s uncle also known as his step father, Claudius, and Hamlet s dead father, King Hamlet, all drive Hamlet to lose his mind and become insane. To explain this simply, a person who only speaks Chicano English is fine in their daily interactions with other speakers of the dialect but they may have trouble speaking with a Northern Dialect. The spread of language change depends on the factors that are causing it. The natural change in language over time smarts in a small area and spreads to everyone that it comes in contact with. This course focused on a numerous languages that were undergoing change. The simplest and most relevant for many Americans are the changes that are occurring in English. America is a great melting pot of different people and as such English s multiple dialects reflect cultural diversity. One of the most studied and still not understood dialects is African American English. The point of contention between the ideas for the origin of African American English is whether it was based on an existing dialect in the south or if it was creole of English and different West African languages. Either way this is an example of a rapid language change that has persisted over time. It is illogical to believe that the slaves who were forced to learn English did not incorporate some of their own language. How else could they have communicated before they fully understood English. Marx is credited as being one of the founding fathers of sociology and the social sciences (along with Durkheim and Weber). Marx lived through the majority of the 19th century (1818 1883), when the Industrial Revolution and capitalism were at their peak, and his work was a critical analysis of this relatively new form of society. The aim of this essay is to explore the social origins of Marx s theories with a look to assess how useful these social origins are when it comes to understanding the strengths and weaknesses of his theories. The products of human work are the objectification of an individual s human nature; the individual is in what he makes and through this objectification we ultimately come to understand ourselves (ibid: 92). Furthermore, the application of the human mind s unlimited conceptual abilities to our work means an unconstrained life with unlimited possibilities, and therefore work is what liberates the human. This is how Marx comes to theorise that work is the distinctive essence of his human nature that sets us apart from all other species. However, Marx writes that capitalism has warped this sole idiosyncrasy of humans by placing an individual s work at the center of his/her survival; it has constrained work to the means by which we survive, just like an animal, hence Marx s assertion that in a capitalist society the individual erroneously feels most free in the animal aspects of life like eating, sleeping, and propagating: What is animal becomes human, and what is human becomes animal (Marx, 1964; cited from ibid: 95); Marx sees this as problematic for society. Free labour can only be achieved once the animal aspects of life are satisfied (ibid.), but Marx finds this term ironic; free labour refers to the legal right of the individual to enter a labour ...
