Hinduism s Influences On Hinduism
Hinduism is one of the oldest major religions still believed in today. There has been many disputes
on the origin, but most agree that the origin came about during the 2nd millennium B.C. in what is
now India. Living in India at the time was the Aryans, which are believed to have had an influence
on Hinduism. One of the first scriptures that the Hindus learn about is called the Vedaswhich was
originally written in Aryan making people some people believe it had an Aryan origin. The Aryans
believed, much like the current Hindus, in practices that involve bathing at certain times and long
bursts of meditation. Hindus would disagree with that accusation saying that the origin of their
religioncame from a certain time or place because they believe that their religion is timeless. They
believe that the origin of their religion is beyond that of human written history (Hay 30 31).
Hinduism is called a religion, but it is actually more like a group of religions. Hinduism, unlike
most religions, is not based on a book or single author, but is a gathering of many authors
writings which all come from many different times periods (Garcia). This has caused Hinduism to
be shaped by the many cultures it has been introduced too over the millennia. One of the earliest
influences on Hinduism comes from the people called Dravidians which were located in the Indus
River Valley, where is now present day Pakistan (Religious Studies Center). Here, evidence was

Issues In The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Many times we think what issues in the past have nothing to do with what happens today.
Sometimes problems back then compared to now are over rated but that s not true at all. During the
20th century, people started to view life in a different perspective and were changing their attitudes.
Slowly, people started to change their clothing, hair, music styles and opinions. This was a century
of different opinions and change. Some issues in the pastduring the 20th century still apply to us
today. A issue that came up was the parties. F. Scott Fitzgerald called it a time
when the parties were
bigger, the pace was faster, the buildings were higher, the morals looser. This phrase is very true.

The Life Of Ancient Egyptian Religion
The concept of the eternal life in traditional Egypt is associated with the sun that always rose up
to give renewal and vigor on a daily basis. Ancient Egyptians considered the afterlife as an ideal
dimension in its peace, delight, and bliss. There were no hardships, rivalry or any negative
emotions in the spiritual realm. The dimension was referred to commonly as the Field of
Offerings or the Field of Rushes. The heavenly place was complete with its own version of the
river Nile and was composed of two fields. The Egyptians society saw it possible to attain the
peace given in the afterlife if they led an earthly religious life. The next life was eternal in nature.
Ancient Egyptians employed two religious criteria to structure their belief in the afterlife. The
beliefs were centered on godly myths and the spiritual connection between the body and the soul.
One of the major elements in traditional Egyptian religion was their worship and belief in a
variety of gods and goddesses. Each of the deities had their particular power, relevance and
function in the ancient religion. The spirit world was associated with the god Ra, who was the deity
with the duty of ruling the dimension. According to McKay, Ra was responsible for choosing
individuals who were eligible for traveling in his boat across the spirit river Nile into the land of
the two fields . According to the religion, only Pharaohs had automatic passage to Ra s boat ride
into the land of the two fields. God Osiris, one

Key Factors That Impact Change
Key Factors That Impact Change
The need to undergo organizational change is something that can completely intimidate any
organization. According to Maurer (2005) Sound change management theory and practice seem to
cross cultural boundaries. Although the practice of change management initially developed in the
United States and Western Europe, it seems to have broad applicability around the globe today. (p.
19). There are a lot of key factors that must be in place to help guide the organization through a
change process and ensure that there is proper change management. This paper will discuss each
unit s specific strengths and opportunities for improvement as change was implemented at Texas
Children s Hospital, identify three factors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The team was able to engage in events to help them be better prepared for the official change
before it launched. Process change can sometimes be accompanied by a certain level of difficulty;
Unit 1 was able to combat that with support resources available for the end users. The end users
were provided with resources to help them through any issues during and after the implementation
process.
One of the most important strengths of Unit 1 is communication. Effective communication in this
unit allowed for the give and take of information and feedback among the members of the unit.
The open lines of communication allowed the end users to know if, and how, they would be
affected by the change. The end users were also able to give feedback during the process, which
allowed the leaders to assess progress. Although there were many strengths in Unit 1, there was
some opportunity for improvement as well. Although the scores for Unit 1 were significantly
higher than those of Unit 2, there they still represented gaps that Unit 1 could utilize as
opportunities for growth. Based on the graphs provided, Unit 1 could improve employee
participation and provide more information and training to increase confidence.
Business Unit 2 had some strengths as well, such as the adequate resources to properly implement
the change initiative. The leadership for this team was also very involved in the beginning,
unfortunately that changed

Richard Cory Analysis Essay
In Edwin Robinson s Richard Cory, one major theme is envy. I struggle as a person with envying
others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also
experienced the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a
story, or tells more, a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can
interpret it and relate it to their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways
Robinson relates to the reader, is through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it
is envy and those who possess the envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the
first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11
and 12, In fine, we thought that he was everything / To make us wish that we were in his place.
These villagers envy Richard Cory, who they laud like a king even though he is no greater than
them, only in wealth. Everyone has envied another at some point and is familiar with that feeling
and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The entire poem displays an ironic theme, but it first becomes apparent in the second stanza. The
first stanza Cory is described as a gentleman from sole to crown, / Clean favored and imperially
slim, (line 3 and 4). Robinson uses words with a royal connotation to display just how much he
is separate from these villagers. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always
quietly arrayed, / And he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was
said about him in the prior verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends
the poem adds on to the irony of it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the
poem by sharing that Cory kills himself. The villagers wanted to be in this rich man s position, but
did not realize that he also had struggles even though he had money, that did not make his life

Analysis of Brower vs. Dominy argument in Encounters with...
In the third section of John McPhee s Encounters with the Archdruid, the author observes the
discourse between conservationist David Brower and Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation,
Floyd Dominy, on the merits of dams in the southwestern United States. Brower hates all dams,
large and small, while Dominy sees dams as essential to our civilization. The Glen Canyon Damand
Lake Powell, which Dominy created, are the main issue of debate between the two men.
Floyd Dominy graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1932 and, after an unsuccessful stint
as a teacher, became a county agricultural agent for the federal government in Wyoming s Gillette
County. This was the time of the Great Depression and also a great drought in the... Show more

Brower viewed nature as a sacred place, a place that must be earned. He hated the idea of people
developing wilderness areas. He felt that cities should have strict boundaries, and people should
stay there. Brower and Dominy have conflicting views in this situation. Brower is disgusted by
the development around Lake Powell and the destruction of the wilderness that is now beneath
it. Lake Powell is a drag strip for power boats. It s for people who won t do things except the easy
way. The magic of Glen Canyon is dead. It has been vulgarized. (240)
Dominy, on the other hand, is proud that he has created such a beautiful lake and has made it
accessible to the masses. Dominy is tired of trying to satisfy a noisy minority while trying to
bring water, power, and recreation to the people. I m a greater conservationist that you are, by far.
I do things. I make things available to man. Unregulated, the Colorado River wouldn t be worth a
good God damn to anybody...Do you want to keep this country the way it is for a handful of
people? (240)
Beside these arguments, there is also a more quantitative side to the debate. The ecological
detriments of the Glen Canyon Dam have been well documented. Extensive changes were brought
about in the Colorado River ecosystem by the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam. Most of these
alterations negatively affected the functioning of the system and the native aquatic species of the
river. The reduced supply and transport of

The Yuma Economy
Economy: The Yuma economy is dependent on three major drivers: agriculture, tourism, and
military presence and associated contractors (G.W., personal communication, November 8, 2016).
The presence of these industries is the Yuma economy s greatest strength. However, the economy
is not without challenges. In 2014, Yuma s per capita income was $20,661 compared to the state
and national average of $25,537 and $28,555 respectively (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Yuma has
experienced modest economic growth this decade, reflected in increased income and rising home
values, but still faces many economic challenges (G.W., personal communication, November 8,
2016). The familial poverty rate for Yuma is 14.37% compared to the national average of 11.47%

live outside of school walking limit boundaries.
Politics and Government: Republicans have a considerable presence in Yuma County, with 21,742

The fragrance business is based in a vertical integration inside of Chanel SA and treating this
division as a separated business, which has been estimated to turn over more than 1 billion dollars
per year, leaded by Chanel NВє5.
The fact is that Chanel has used the NВє5 as a symbol of the brand and they based their penetration
strategies in new markets such as China promoting the perfume with the strongest storytelling and
becoming the leader in the Chinese market with a 13% of market share in 2014. (Euromonitor,

4.2.3.2 The brand in China
Chanel entered China following the success of Louis Vuitton in late 90 s with a strong marketing
strategy based on limited retail points for their higher categories such as fashion, accessories and
jewelry and with a vast retail network for beauty products that gave the brand a strong brand
awareness and started to build a young loyal database.
The brand has always understood the need of Chinese consumers to fully understand brand s
heritage. In this case events have been the best tool to communicate and control the message such
as Chanel Culture or the Little Black Jacket, all of them not only centered in the products but in
Coco Chanel, creating a symbol.

Although students who work and do not work experience there stress levels differently and
according to the study more working college students experience more of a stress level then non
working students but the most interesting finding in this study is that working college students
have a higher grade point then the non working students (p.384). Suggestions as to why that were
presented in the article is that students who work and go to school full time have the ability to
manage their time more wisely then those who do not work (p.396 387). This data is again
represented in another study that was produced by Lang (2012) which clarifies that college
students who work maintain a higher grade point average then students who do not work (p.250).
Another aspect that Lang s experiment clarifies that more working students spend more time one
their studies and working then they do with their social lives (p.250). This is because students
learn how to priorities and in order to priorities they have to give up something in this case it is
their social life. Learning how to prioritize students gain the ability to develop time management
skills that the can use in order to complete the task that they need to get done; whether it would be

The Pros And Cons Of Military Technology
Conclusion
It is common knowledge within the tech community that some commercial technology lags at least
a decade behind new military technology. The lag time will allow for an adjustment period to help
facilitate the acceptance from the public on a mass scale.
The merging does not have to be at the extremes of what is demonstrated on television shows such
as Star Trek, and there will be those who stand against the changes due to religious and
philosophical beliefs. Nevertheless, those who embrace the newfound world will outnumber those
who do not. Just as people rush to get the newest iPhone or tech gadget, they will slowly integrate
new hybrid technology into their lives. It will be only a matter of time until all humans assimilate
into a future where man and machine co exist as one organism thus breaking the biological barriers
that have constrained human evolution thus far. A.I Summoning the Demon illustrates the
consequences of creating advanced artificially intelligent machines and discusses possible solutions
to the problem. The importance of regulations is discussed along with the need for the human race
to become a hybrid species. These solutions together will ensure the longevity of the human species
well into the next millennium.

CURRENT ISSUES EFFECTING AMERICAN APPAREL :
March 28, 2010 THE NEW YORK POST
The fast talking CEO of American Apparel David Charney whose libertine lifestyle and racy
marketing campaigns have kept the clothing chain controversial and on the minds of its young
shoppers has had to scramble to keep his beloved company out of bankruptcy.
Charney had to give up a large equity stake in the operation to a private equity firm, which rode to
its rescue from bankruptcy .
He also was forced to slow the chain s rapid rate of expansion and had to deal with stores that
couldn t even keep their shelves fully stocked thanks to the vise like grip on cash kept by Lion
Capital, the London based investment firm whose March 2009 financing deal saved Charney s
bacon.
Moreover the retail chain s shares plunged 17 percent after the New York based concern reported
its fourth quarter profits had dropped a jaw dropping 23 percent. While soaring costs and anemic
sales sapped profits, investors were likewise rattled as the company delayed giving an outlook for
2010, citing restrictions imposed on its operations by lenders. Which ultimately spooked investors,
who raced for the exits sending shares to a close at $3.17, down 67 cents.
At the time of the downturn , the company had to implement firings of about 1,500 workers .
But there was a new tune being played last week.

How Did Ho Chi Minh Fight In Vietnam
During the 1940 to 1945 period, all Vietnamese groups struggling for independence from the French
and the Japanese formed a coalition under the leadership under my name Ho Chi Minh . They
called themselves the League for Independence or the Vietminh. On September 2, 1945, the day
Japan surrendered to the Allies, I announced the formation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam
and read to the crowds in Hanoi the Vietnamese Declaration of Independence. At that time, the new
republic included all of Vietnam. Three weeks later, the British were helping to re establish French
rule and forced the Vietminh out of Saigon. During this time, I tried to gain support from President
Truman but received none. By 1947, French troops occupied Hanoi and the fight for independence

Another reason why I support these actions of the Viet Minh is that it is a fact that the French is
doing everything they can to get rid Vietnam of french colonial power whose actions is causing
devastation to my people. It is a fact that the primary objective of the french in Indochina was
economic to exploit the natural resources of the area and open up markets for french
manufactured goods. Europeans at the time believed only the fittest countries survived and the
only way to survive was to possess a colonial empire. An economic transformation began. This
French rule meant supplying the mother country with products such as rice and rubber. There
were some economic advances under french rule such as rubber plantations being flourished,
industries expanded, coalfields were developed in Tonkin, landless peasants became factory or
mine workers. The area of rice fields, especially in Cochinchina, rose from 518,000 hectares in
1880 to 2,201,500 in 1939. Despite this, the people of Indochina remained and poor with increasing

Summary Of For That He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne
The poem, For That He Looked Not upon Her by George Gascoigne exemplifies how the speaker
suffered from love, something that many people believe one should feel positive about. The title
delivers a despairing tone by allowing the audience to believe that the speaker can no longer look
the woman he loved in the eye. Conflicting with the despairing tone, the speaker develops a
complex attitude with the use of structure, metaphors, diction, and desire. The structure and tone
of the poem enhance the conflict and hopelessness the speaker is feeling towards the woman he
loves and desires. For the first twelve lines of the poem there is an abab rhyming pattern. This ties
into the despairing and desirable tone and how the rhyming scheme can be an example of the
speaker constantly going back and forth between emotions for this women. For example, And that
mine eyes take no delight to range About the gleams which on your face do grow. (Gascoigne 3 4)
are two phrases that contradict the speakers feelings. Stating that his eyes take no delight in range
can refer to the speaker finding no use or happiness in looking at the woman. Although, he then
mentions the gleams upon her face growing, giving the audience the idea that even though the
speakers lovefor the woman causes him deep despair, he still desires her enough to describe her
features in attentive detail; in this example the gleams on her face. This shows the back and forth
pattern and the speakers struggle when it comes

Pivotal Events Determining the Outcome of the American...
People of the 21st century might question what the most pivotal events were during the American
Revolution. The Declaration of Independence, which was one of these events was mainly written
by Thomas Jefferson but edited by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. The Declaration of
Independence was a celebration of the patriot s breakaway from the British. Another event
happened on Christmas day 1776, when George Washingtonand his troops crossed the Delaware
River with the hopes of capturing the Hessians who were a group that King George III paid to
fight or them. With luck on the troop s side, they captured between 900 and 1,000 prisoners and
took over Trenton, New Jersey. And finally, in Valley Forge, PA Washington s troops went through
harsh weather and long hours of training. By June 19th, 1778 the day they left, Washington s troops
were stronger than they were before with the help of General Baron Von Steuben. The most pivotal
events in determining the outcome of the American Revolutionwere Declaration of Independence
(June 1776), Washington s Crossing (December1776), and Valley Forge (1777 1778). The
Declaration of Independence was mainly written by Thomas Jefferson with the help of the

Its unfair to other non exempt organizations that follow the rules that proceed with their title, to

administrator touches on the unfairness portrayed. In the newspaper piece written by Laura A.
KIernan titled Battle over core service tax heats up: [City Edition] Wood demonstrates why this
can be viewed as a struggle. Wood said UNH has a number of tax exempt properties, including a
bookstore run by Barnes and Noble, and the New England Center, which is a hotel and restaurant,
which he says should not have be tax exempt. He also said that children of married students who
live in tax exempt university housing are costing the town schools system $7,400 apiece each year.
We feel that s not fair. Wood s words highlight on the fact that its not only unfair due to stretching
the regulations, in addition they are costing us money in the process. In cohesion with the previous
disadvantage to the community another unbeneficial effect caused by churches is due to the

Good Country People, a Review and Analysis Essay
Everyone wants to believe that they are beautiful. For this reason, we tend to seek out that
approval from others including our parents, friends, and other loved ones. Flannery O Connor s
story, Good Country People, focuses on this particular theme. In her narrative, a young girl
named Joy Hopewell longs for her mother s approval. When she does not find it, Joy begins to
believe that she is unworthy of anyone s admiration. This basic premise allows for Manley Pointer
to easily win Joy s trust. Flannery O Connorincludes this string of events in order to show the
significant role parents play in developing their children s self esteem, as well as reveal that even

she does not see herself as beautiful as such a name implies. In fact, the narrator says, she had
thought and thought until she had hit upon the ugliest name in any language (132). Furthermore,
Hulga never wears dresses or anything nice. Instead, she chooses to wear a six year old skirt and
a yellow sweat shirt with a faded cowboy on a horse embossed on it (133). Hulga does not believe
that any amount of makeup or nice clothes can improve upon her ugliness. This low confidence
directly derives from her mother s dissatisfaction with her.
Because of her poor self image, Hulga Hopewell melts as soon as she sees that the Bible
salesman thinks that she is beautiful. He looks at her in a way that no one else ever has before.
Manley Pointer not only smiles at her, but gazes at her in admiration and tenderness. The mere
idea that this Bible salesman would be drawn to her leaves Hulga in complete astonishment and
wonder. The narrator describes Hulga s fascination with the boy s fondness by saying, It was like
surrendering to him completely. It was like losing her own life and finding it again, miraculously,

Manley easily wins her trust, and ultimately, tricks her. Hulga s immediate surrender to Manley

The beauty industry, cosmetics in particular, has a bright future as women, no matter whether they

The growth in urban cosmetics consumer spending is driven by the increase in spending in terms

Loss of identity Identity is the all encompassing view of who you are as an individual and

Burn Injury Research Paper
Living With a Burn Injury
The number of burns that require medical attention in the United States are 1.1 million every year.
Burns are injuries caused either by heat, chemicals, sunlight, radiation, or electricity (Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention, (n.d.). Statistics show most burn injuries for women and children
occur in the home and for men they typically occur at the workplace. They are classified as first,
second, or third degree, usually by how deep and severely they breach the skins surface (World
Health Organization, (2017, January). It s important to know the signs and symptoms of a burn
injury to ensure the right kind of medical treatment is provided.
Classifications
First degree burns only cause damage to the outer layer of the skin also known as the epidermis.
Second degree burn damage extends as far as the dermis layer, which is the layer beneath the
epidermis (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, (n.d.). These burns sometimes will need a
skin graft to enclose the area and protect it while in the healing process. After having damaged or
completely destroyed both the top two layers of the skin, a third degree burn extends past the hair
follicles and sweat glands causing damage to the underlying tissue. These kinds of burns will
almost always require the use of a skin graft (John Hopkins Health Medicine ... Show more content

Sickle Cell Disease Essay
Introduction The term sickle cell disease (SCD) involves a range of disorders characterized by
the occurrence of at least one haemoglobin S (Hb S) allele and a second abnormal allele allowing
abnormal haemoglobin polymerization leading to a symptomatic disorder. Most patients often
are healthy at early stages in their life and become symptomatic later on in their life time. Fetal
haemoglobin levels decrease and haemoglobin s levels increase. Sickle cell disease is
determined at conception, when a person acquires his/her genes from the parents. Sickle cell
disease cannot be caught, acquired, or otherwise transmitted. A study carried out in 2012 by
Priola and a team wrote a study about a 30 year old man with a history of sickle cell disease... Show

The mutation of sickle cells reflects on a change in the amino acids protein which transports
oxygen into haemoglobin. This is the protein which gives red blood cells its colour and consist
of two subunits the first being the alpha subunit which is common in individual s with sickle cell
disease. The second subunit is beta this has an amino acid at position 6 instead of the glutamic
acid being present. If the beta globin gene is sickle and the other gene is normal this individual
is a carrier of sickle cell disease, this condition is known as sickle cell trait, it s a rare condition.
If both the beta globin genes are sickle then the individual has sickle cell disease, those with
sickle cell trait cannot develop sickle cell disease. This shift is the basis of all the problems that
occur in people with sickle cell disease. Some types of haemoglobin molecules such as fetal
haemoglobin which is found before birth block the interactions between haemoglobin s and
deoxygenated molecules. This haemoglobin disappears within the first year after birth. One
approach to treating sickle cell disease is to rekindle production of fetal haemoglobin. The drug,
hydroxyurea induces fetal haemoglobin production in some patients with sickle cell disease and
improves the clinical condition of some people (Okam,

An Advanced Business Degree Essay
Three Pillars Essay
There has been a number of years between completing my bachelor s of science in engineering

marriage, raising a family and all of the responsibilities that accompany life. Nevertheless, the
desire never left me and the opportunity to pursue this degree has been one of the best decisions I
have made. Although my background is in engineering, one of my most compelling passions have
been in the area of teaching and mentoring. The pursuit of an advanced business degree usually
means learning the skills necessary to enter into corporate America with the opportunity for high
salaries and profit sharing; however, the skills obtained from an MBA degree can prepare graduates
for career changes that may not actually include business in the common sense of the word. Though
the education industry is not known for doling out high salaries, business students seem to be
increasingly seeking jobs in the policy, technology, and managementof education, say education
professionals and business students (Wecker, 2012). Thesis Statement: As one actively in pursuit of

The American Dream was a prodigious and fascinating objective, in which everyone wished to
accomplish in the 1920 s. Money, social status and happiness was the ideal image. Everyone
desired and craved to achieve this dream in hope to have the opportunity to acquire success and the
image of a perfect life. But this dream was corrupt. In F. Scott Fitzgeralds novel, The Great Gatsby

was used everywhere in the book, but there was a little twist to it. It wasn t always what it
seemed, just like the American Dream. They were both in white, and their dresses were rippling
and fluttering as if they had just been blown in after a short flight around the house, (8). This
quote has the character Daisy in it. When we heard Daisy we think of the flower. So delicate and
innocent and full of purity, like the white petals, but once you reach the yellow middle, all she
cares about is her picture perfect image. Daisy isn t what she seems Fitzgerald carefully builds
Daisy s character with associations of light, purity, and innocence, when all s said and done, she
is the opposite from what she presents herself to be, (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). Once we get

people to look at her the way they look at Gatsby and think to themselves, wow she has it all .
Daisy goes to extreme limits to make her life look as perfect as possible, even if she is completely

represents the American Dream because even though this idea of a perfect life is so desirable, no

Holden Salinger s The Catcher s The Rye
In The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, the main character and narrator Holden Caulfeild
walks many different paths of life. He jumps around different aspects of his life throughout the
book, showing the reader many different sides to himself. This theme is presented through the
author s technique in crafting the characterization and symbolism. J.D. Salinger develops a
puzzle of a personality for Holden throughout the book, to show the complexity and multitude of
sides to Holden s character. One way that J.D. Salinger shows off a side of Holden is through the
characterization. An aspect of Holden that Salinger creates is his school personality. Holden
comes off as a protected person. At the very beginning of Catcher in the Rye, one of the first
views of the narrator is a scene of him standing on top of a hill, looking down at one of the most
important games of the season for his school s team. In this passage, Holden is standing on top
of a hill, next to a cannon, watching the school game below. This shows how Holden is
protecting himself. His school is playing in one of the biggest games of the season, yet Holden is
standing in a place where he can t even view his side. When Holden refers to Pencey, he always
uses third person phrases, like them all almost as if he doesn t go to the school at all. He also refers
to them in a very grouped way, instead of saying them, he refers to the rest of the school as all.

My Thoughts On The Skills Essay
Introduction
In my essay, I will be reflecting on my thoughts and feelings on the skill practiced on the DVD.
The essay will also be detailing the working alliance, the relevant skills, models, and theoretical
principles. The essay will be supported with references of the books that I used to develop the
discussion.
I will be concentrating more on the skills that I use on the video. I will discuss how important they
are in counselling relationship. I will also define some other skills I used in the video accordingly.
Main body
The beginning stage I felt the nerve kicked in as I sat down and as soon as I realised the video had
started rolling but I managed to calm down and was able to compose myself.
In the beginning of a session, my main concern as the counsellor was to build and establish a
working relationship with my client (working alliance). As the counsellor I needed to develop
the kind of relationship in which my client is encouraged to work. I tried to negotiate a contract
with the client. I believe that in doing so, I should be able to clarify and define my client s
problem and assess whether or not counselling is likely to help specific needs and also whether or
not I am will be able to work with the client to help her achieve what she want. In other words, as
the counsellor my main aim was the intended outcome and what both my client and I want to
achieve. (Sue Culley, Integrative counselling skills in action).

Interpretation Of Daimon In Greek Literature
Overall, the analysis of Greek literature reveals several ideas that are helpful in understanding the
demonology referenced in the New Testament. The different interpretations of daimon are fluid and
should not be expected to be completely consistent. Daimones are widely recognized as
intermediate beings, between the gods and men, and could be good or bad. Although Platogenerally
perceived them as being good, after his time there was a tendency to assign evil actions to them.
They determined one s destiny and were responsible for exacting punishment after death. The
daimon was commonly identified with deceased souls, especially those thought to have been noble

At its most basic, daimon refers to any power or activity that is divine or superhuman. Daimon has
many interpretations, though, which a fluid and sometimes overlap. At first, the term was used
almost synonymously with theos. In then came to mean a person s lot in life, similar to moira.
Daimones were characterized as general deceased souls, and then turned into guardian spirits. They
were widely recognized as intermediate beings that could with be good or bad. With the
introduction of bad daimons, there was an increasing tendency to attribute evil, demonic in a sense,
actions to them. Eventually, the daimon gained the ability to possess human beings, a significant
influence on the early Christian concept of the demon. Exorcism was widespread in the ancient role
and there are several similarities between the exorcism stories of antiquity and those found in the
New Testament. The expulsion of demons was a prominent part of Jesus ministry and the
characterization of Jesus as an exorcist was significant for showing the triumph over Satan. The
demon still undergoes many more changes after the New Testament, resulting in the demons that so
often appear in horror films today. But while popular demonic beings today are always malevolent,

embracing diverse doctrines but centering on analysis of individual existence in an
unfathomable universe and the plight of the individual who must assume ultimate responsibility
for acts of free will without any certain knowledge of what is right or wrong or good or bad

Potential Difficulties of the Lambing Process The lambing process is a natural procedure that

One is able to use rats as a specimen to study human anatomy, as the organs found in a rat such as

describes how birds use these beautiful songs to mate. Male birds, he explains, take years to
perfect this song. The songs are used to help attract female birds for mating. In the larger scale,
these songs are a daily normal in the morning. Most humans wake up on a daily bases hearing birds
sing their song, but they never bother to pay attention to it. However, when taking a closer look, we
understand the purpose for these songs, and thes songs become even more beautiful and unique.
Haskell illustrates how the Earth s crust is similar to the humanrace. The earth s crust has, grain by
grain, disassembled and rebuilt itself over and over to the rhythm of millions of millennia.
(Haskell, pg 95) As the earth breaks down and rebuilds itself, humans do the same thing. Haskell
explains how the human race is not endangered of becoming extinct because of our life cycle.
Just like the earth, we eventually die, or disassemble. However, because we reproduce, we are able
to rebuild the human race. Haskell compares the earth s crust to the human race in order to help us
understand how unique the earth truly is. The earth seems even more beautiful and unique as
Haskell describes how magnificent it truly is. As Haskell continues observing, he explains the
different rocks he sees. These

Becoming Members Of Society Analysis
In Becoming Members of Society Devor discusses how our childhood, our toys, and everything
around us has developed into a cognitive schema that establishes certain gender roles. He states
that from a young age, children start to develop their identities and gender roles. He later goes on
to explain how because of these gender roles that have been formed, the hierarchical pyramid is
more prominent in society. Women are seen as weak compared to men, forcing stereotypes on
women as the inferior while men are superior. In lieu of Living in Color, Michael Omi states that
popular culture leads to the racial beliefs that have been created and continued throughout history.
Minoritygroups are portrayed in various media such as television shows, films, and magazines as
insignificant and through this constant portrayal, the racial tensions between minority groups and
majority groups have magnified. Aaron H. Devor and Michael Omi are both exposing the society
they lived in and we still currently live in. Omi claims that we have assumed beliefs about racial
minoritiesin concordance to their worth, stemming from stereotypes that have surpassed
generations. While on the other hand, Devor analyzed stereotypes of gender, both looked at the
unfair distribution of minority groups in society. Overall, both attacked historical issues of
inequality still present in society today and reached the same conclusion through the use of various
types of evidence as well as different types of modes

Examples Of Rekindle Candle
Rekindle Candle
Introduction Generally, we are so persistent with our own view and thinking, seldom think out of
the box. Sometimes, a great invention that brings advantages to humankind just needs our
creativity. When we are able to think critically and creatively, a lot of things will be definitely
different. For an instance, if Newton did not think deeply why the apple will fall to the ground
instead of accelerate towards the sky, then he will never realise the gravity. Therefore, we would
like to introduce a simple and nice rekindle candle invented by Benjamin Shine. In the past, candle
played an important role in each family whenever power cut and brought us precious and
unforgettable memories with shadow games. Nowadays, candle has become a dispensable
presence as its role to bring light in the dark has been replaced by torch and flashlight. But
sometimes when we want to revive our childhood memories or have a candlelight dinner with our
loved ones, we could not find a single candle because we did not buy a new one when the old
candles burnt out. This is the moment when we need a candle that is reusable so we can use it for
plenty times. The clever candle holder is so simple that many would wonder how comes we did not
think about it before? It may not as popular as the common one, but this invention ... Show more

The difference between rekindle candle and common candle is rekindle candle can last at least
twice as long and even twelve times after being used. He had redesigned the candle holder by
replacing it with a long hollow tube with a wick inside it. As the candle burns, the melting wax
will drip from the candle and accumulate inside the transparent stem until the candle s life ends.
After it is dried and harden, just broke out the reformed candle. This process can be replay
whenever the wax is not running out. This Benjamin s candle really

Persuasive Essay On Head Start
Head Start Programs:
All Children Deserve the Same Chance at an Education Head Start programs came about in
1964; when President Johnson declared a war on poverty. His idea was you must break the
cycle of poverty to win the war. The program s idea was to help break the cycle of poverty by,
providing the children of low income families the ability to meet the emotional, social, health,
nutrition, and mental needs. The Parents also are offered resources in higher education, paying
utilities, and other needs that are essential to succeed. According to The Basic Head Start Facts
Sheet 2011, Head Start is the nation s first national early education and early childcare program.
Since then over thirty two million children have had assistance with the program; therefore, has
caused an increase of twenty eight percent in High School Graduations (Smith 8). Head Starts main
goal is to lower the achievement gap between lower class and middle class children.
Being born in poverty and the disadvantages Smith states that children who are born into poverty
already have a disadvantage. The journal Why Investments in Early Childhood work, 2011,
shows that these children are twenty five percent more likely to drop out of school, forty percent
more likely to become a teen parent, and seventy percent more likely to commit a violent crime in
their life. Therefore, the cycle needs to end. We need to educate ourselves so our children can
succeed, and live a better life than we had. Abbott Shim

Essay about Stewardship
Around the world in Christian and secular circles we hear the word stewardship. Not only is
stewardship one of the basic issues discussed in scripture, but it s also something we neglect as
something we need to concentrate on while going through our own Christian walk. We live in a
society that is very individualistic, concentrating on whatever will bring pleasure and make us feel
good. Stewardship definitely doesn t fit into the way society is today. Before going to far into this,
what exactly is stewardship? Stewardship is taking careof or managing every God given resource
with an attitude of responsibility directing such resources for his intended purposes. To truly
understand stewardship, we need to first look at what God says in his... Show more content on

There will come a day when we are going to be accountable for all our sins. Standing before
Christ, we will be asked how we plead to these sins, and judgement will occur. Throughout the
Bible stewardship is scattered everywhere, from the Old Testament days of Moses and Abraham to
the teachings of the disciples and Paul. When one carefully studies the word of God, it is truly
evident that we are to be stewards of our total self, not just time, talents, and money. God calls us to
give our lives up, not just our resources.
There are six separate and distinct categories when defining one s wellness. Those stages are
physical, social, vocational, environmental, psychological, and spiritual. Without one the other
could not exist. Physical wellness includes being physically fit, eating nutritiously, and getting
adequate sleep. I consider myself to be doing well in this category. I always am in bed before
midnight, and exercise at least four to five times in a week. I consider my diet to be the one thing
lacking when looking deeper into my physical well being. Social wellness means having
satisfying, trusting relationships and interacting well with others. I feel that this is also a strong
part of my total wellness. I feel confident as well as excited to meet new people here at Cornerstone
everyday. Vocational wellness is finding meaning in and satisfaction with your school, job, and
leisure pursuits. Looking at the vocational

Life and Pakistan
Pakistan displays some of Asia s most magnificent landscapes as it stretches from the Arabian Sea,
its southern border, to some of the world s most spectacular mountain ranges in the north. Pakistan
is also home to sites that date back to word s earliest settlements rivaling those of ancient Egypt and
Mesopotamia . When Pakistanemerged on the map of the world as a sovereign and independent
state in August 1947, it was like a baby in ICU with hardly any prospect of survival, on account
of its extremely vulnerable defence and fragile economy. However, despite numerous setbacks,
crises and turmoils of gigantic magnitude, it has so far been able to survive and make some
progress due to several factors, perhaps the most important of which is... Show more content on

We must strive for freedom if we strive for self knowledge. The task of self knowledge and of
further self development is of such importance and seriousness, it demands such intensity of effort,
that to attempt it any old way and amongst other things is impossible. The person who undertakes
this task must put it first in his life, which is not so long that he can afford to squander it on trifles.

  • 2. Hinduism s Influences On Hinduism Hinduism is one of the oldest major religions still believed in today. There has been many disputes on the origin, but most agree that the origin came about during the 2nd millennium B.C. in what is now India. Living in India at the time was the Aryans, which are believed to have had an influence on Hinduism. One of the first scriptures that the Hindus learn about is called the Vedaswhich was originally written in Aryan making people some people believe it had an Aryan origin. The Aryans believed, much like the current Hindus, in practices that involve bathing at certain times and long bursts of meditation. Hindus would disagree with that accusation saying that the origin of their religioncame from a certain time or place because they believe that their religion is timeless. They believe that the origin of their religion is beyond that of human written history (Hay 30 31). Hinduism is called a religion, but it is actually more like a group of religions. Hinduism, unlike most religions, is not based on a book or single author, but is a gathering of many authors writings which all come from many different times periods (Garcia). This has caused Hinduism to be shaped by the many cultures it has been introduced too over the millennia. One of the earliest influences on Hinduism comes from the people called Dravidians which were located in the Indus River Valley, where is now present day Pakistan (Religious Studies Center). Here, evidence was found of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes problems back then compared to now are over rated but that s not true at all. During the 20th century, people started to view life in a different perspective and were changing their attitudes. Slowly, people started to change their clothing, hair, music styles and opinions. This was a century of different opinions and change. Some issues in the pastduring the 20th century still apply to us today. A issue that came up was the parties. F. Scott Fitzgerald called it a time when the parties were bigger, the pace was faster, the buildings were higher, the morals looser. This phrase is very true. • 4. The Life Of Ancient Egyptian Religion The concept of the eternal life in traditional Egypt is associated with the sun that always rose up to give renewal and vigor on a daily basis. Ancient Egyptians considered the afterlife as an ideal dimension in its peace, delight, and bliss. There were no hardships, rivalry or any negative emotions in the spiritual realm. The dimension was referred to commonly as the Field of Offerings or the Field of Rushes. The heavenly place was complete with its own version of the river Nile and was composed of two fields. The Egyptians society saw it possible to attain the peace given in the afterlife if they led an earthly religious life. The next life was eternal in nature. Ancient Egyptians employed two religious criteria to structure their belief in the afterlife. The beliefs were centered on godly myths and the spiritual connection between the body and the soul. One of the major elements in traditional Egyptian religion was their worship and belief in a variety of gods and goddesses. Each of the deities had their particular power, relevance and function in the ancient religion. The spirit world was associated with the god Ra, who was the deity with the duty of ruling the dimension. According to McKay, Ra was responsible for choosing individuals who were eligible for traveling in his boat across the spirit river Nile into the land of the two fields . According to the religion, only Pharaohs had automatic passage to Ra s boat ride into the land of the two fields. God Osiris, one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Maurer (2005) Sound change management theory and practice seem to cross cultural boundaries. Although the practice of change management initially developed in the United States and Western Europe, it seems to have broad applicability around the globe today. (p. 19). There are a lot of key factors that must be in place to help guide the organization through a change process and ensure that there is proper change management. Process change can sometimes be accompanied by a certain level of difficulty; Unit 1 was able to combat that with support resources available for the end users. The end users were provided with resources to help them through any issues during and after the implementation process. One of the most important strengths of Unit 1 is communication. Effective communication in this unit allowed for the give and take of information and feedback among the members of the unit. The open lines of communication allowed the end users to know if, and how, they would be affected by the change. The end users were also able to give feedback during the process, which allowed the leaders to assess progress. Although there were many strengths in Unit 1, there was some opportunity for improvement as well. Although the scores for Unit 1 were significantly higher than those of Unit 2, there they still represented gaps that Unit 1 could utilize as opportunities for growth. Based on the graphs provided, Unit 1 could improve employee participation and provide more information and training to increase confidence. Business Unit 2 had some strengths as well, such as the adequate resources to properly implement the change initiative. • 6. Richard Cory Analysis Essay In Edwin Robinson s Richard Cory, one major theme is envy. I struggle as a person with envying others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also experienced the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a story, or tells more, a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can interpret it and relate it to their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways Robinson relates to the reader, is through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it is envy and those who possess the envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11 and 12, In fine, we thought that he was everything / To make us wish that we were in his place. These villagers envy Richard Cory, who they laud like a king even though he is no greater than them, only in wealth. Everyone has envied another at some point and is familiar with that feeling and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The entire poem displays an ironic theme, but it first becomes apparent in the second stanza. The first stanza Cory is described as a gentleman from sole to crown, / Clean favored and imperially slim, (line 3 and 4). Robinson uses words with a royal connotation to display just how much he is separate from these villagers. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always quietly arrayed, / And he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was said about him in the prior verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends the poem adds on to the irony of it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the poem by sharing that Cory kills himself. The villagers wanted to be in this rich man s position, but did not realize that he also had struggles even though he had money, that did not make his life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Analysis of Brower vs. Dominy argument in Encounters with... In the third section of John McPhee s Encounters with the Archdruid, the author observes the discourse between conservationist David Brower and Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation, Floyd Dominy, on the merits of dams in the southwestern United States. Brower hates all dams, large and small, while Dominy sees dams as essential to our civilization. The Glen Canyon Damand Lake Powell, which Dominy created, are the main issue of debate between the two men. Floyd Dominy graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1932 and, after an unsuccessful stint as a teacher, became a county agricultural agent for the federal government in Wyoming s Gillette County. This was the time of the Great Depression and also a great drought in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Brower viewed nature as a sacred place, a place that must be earned. He hated the idea of people developing wilderness areas. He felt that cities should have strict boundaries, and people should stay there. Brower and Dominy have conflicting views in this situation. Brower is disgusted by the development around Lake Powell and the destruction of the wilderness that is now beneath it. Lake Powell is a drag strip for power boats. It s for people who won t do things except the easy way. The magic of Glen Canyon is dead. It has been vulgarized. (240) Dominy, on the other hand, is proud that he has created such a beautiful lake and has made it accessible to the masses. Dominy is tired of trying to satisfy a noisy minority while trying to bring water, power, and recreation to the people. I m a greater conservationist that you are, by far. I do things. I make things available to man. Unregulated, the Colorado River wouldn t be worth a good God damn to anybody...Do you want to keep this country the way it is for a handful of people? (240) Beside these arguments, there is also a more quantitative side to the debate. The ecological detriments of the Glen Canyon Dam have been well documented. Extensive changes were brought about in the Colorado River ecosystem by the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam. Most of these alterations negatively affected the functioning of the system and the native aquatic species of the river. The reduced supply and transport of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Pros And Cons Of Military Technology Conclusion It is common knowledge within the tech community that some commercial technology lags at least a decade behind new military technology. The lag time will allow for an adjustment period to help facilitate the acceptance from the public on a mass scale. The merging does not have to be at the extremes of what is demonstrated on television shows such as Star Trek, and there will be those who stand against the changes due to religious and philosophical beliefs. Nevertheless, those who embrace the newfound world will outnumber those who do not. Just as people rush to get the newest iPhone or tech gadget, they will slowly integrate new hybrid technology into their lives. It will be only a matter of time until all humans assimilate into a future where man and machine co exist as one organism thus breaking the biological barriers that have constrained human evolution thus far. Moreover the retail chain s shares plunged 17 percent after the New York based concern reported its fourth quarter profits had dropped a jaw dropping 23 percent. While soaring costs and anemic sales sapped profits, investors were likewise rattled as the company delayed giving an outlook for 2010, citing restrictions imposed on its operations by lenders. • 17. Summary Of For That He Look Not Upon Her By George Gascoigne The poem, For That He Looked Not upon Her by George Gascoigne exemplifies how the speaker suffered from love, something that many people believe one should feel positive about. The title delivers a despairing tone by allowing the audience to believe that the speaker can no longer look the woman he loved in the eye. Conflicting with the despairing tone, the speaker develops a complex attitude with the use of structure, metaphors, diction, and desire. The structure and tone of the poem enhance the conflict and hopelessness the speaker is feeling towards the woman he loves and desires. For the first twelve lines of the poem there is an abab rhyming pattern. This ties into the despairing and desirable tone and how the rhyming scheme can be an example of the speaker constantly going back and forth between emotions for this women. For example, And that mine eyes take no delight to range About the gleams which on your face do grow. (Gascoigne 3 4) are two phrases that contradict the speakers feelings. Stating that his eyes take no delight in range can refer to the speaker finding no use or happiness in looking at the woman. Although, he then mentions the gleams upon her face growing, giving the audience the idea that even though the speakers lovefor the woman causes him deep despair, he still desires her enough to describe her features in attentive detail; in this example the gleams on her face. This shows the back and forth pattern and the speakers struggle when it comes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Using CT scans and cognitive evaluation he found that even though bilingual patients showed twice as much atrophy, they performed as well in the cognitive test as their monolingual counterparts with less atrophy. This may be explained by the fact that bilingual individuals have developed enhanced neural networks or pathways, also called neural reserve, when switching from one language to another or suppressing one language from another. Dr. Schweizer explains that though bilingualism delays Alzheimer s progression for about five years it does not prevent it. Alladi, et. Al. in 2013 in an effort to identify the association between bilingualism and age at onset of dementia and its subtypes ran the largest study with case records of 648 patients with dementia (391 of them bilingual) The age at onset of first symptoms was ... Manley Pointer not only smiles at her, but gazes at her in admiration and tenderness. The mere idea that this Bible salesman would be drawn to her leaves Hulga in complete astonishment and wonder. The narrator describes Hulga s fascination with the boy s fondness by saying, It was like surrendering to him completely. • 28. Sickle Cell Disease Essay Introduction The term sickle cell disease (SCD) involves a range of disorders characterized by the occurrence of at least one haemoglobin S (Hb S) allele and a second abnormal allele allowing abnormal haemoglobin polymerization leading to a symptomatic disorder. Most patients often are healthy at early stages in their life and become symptomatic later on in their life time. Fetal haemoglobin levels decrease and haemoglobin s levels increase. Sickle cell disease is determined at conception, when a person acquires his/her genes from the parents. Sickle cell disease cannot be caught, acquired, or otherwise transmitted. A study carried out in 2012 by Priola and a team wrote a study about a 30 year old man with a history of sickle cell disease... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mutation of sickle cells reflects on a change in the amino acids protein which transports oxygen into haemoglobin. This is the protein which gives red blood cells its colour and consist of two subunits the first being the alpha subunit which is common in individual s with sickle cell disease. The second subunit is beta this has an amino acid at position 6 instead of the glutamic acid being present. If the beta globin gene is sickle and the other gene is normal this individual is a carrier of sickle cell disease, this condition is known as sickle cell trait, it s a rare condition. If both the beta globin genes are sickle then the individual has sickle cell disease, those with sickle cell trait cannot develop sickle cell disease. This shift is the basis of all the problems that occur in people with sickle cell disease. Some types of haemoglobin molecules such as fetal haemoglobin which is found before birth block the interactions between haemoglobin s and deoxygenated molecules. This haemoglobin disappears within the first year after birth. One approach to treating sickle cell disease is to rekindle production of fetal haemoglobin. The drug, hydroxyurea induces fetal haemoglobin production in some patients with sickle cell disease and improves the clinical condition of some people (Okam, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The dry buzz unleashes a confusion of songs from all directions, a jumble of tempos and timbres. (Haskell, pg 81) Haskell describes how birds use these beautiful songs to mate. Male birds, he explains, take years to perfect this song. The songs are used to help attract female birds for mating. In the larger scale, these songs are a daily normal in the morning. Most humans wake up on a daily bases hearing birds sing their song, but they never bother to pay attention to it. However, when taking a closer look, we understand the purpose for these songs, and thes songs become even more beautiful and unique. Haskell illustrates how the Earth s crust is similar to the humanrace. The earth s crust has, grain by grain, disassembled and rebuilt itself over and over to the rhythm of millions of millennia. (Haskell, pg 95) As the earth breaks down and rebuilds itself, humans do the same thing. Haskell explains how the human race is not endangered of becoming extinct because of our life cycle. Just like the earth, we eventually die, or disassemble. However, because we reproduce, we are able to rebuild the human race. Becoming Members Of Society Analysis In Becoming Members of Society Devor discusses how our childhood, our toys, and everything around us has developed into a cognitive schema that establishes certain gender roles. He states that from a young age, children start to develop their identities and gender roles. He later goes on to explain how because of these gender roles that have been formed, the hierarchical pyramid is more prominent in society. In lieu of Living in Color, Michael Omi states that popular culture leads to the racial beliefs that have been created and continued throughout history.
