The Importance Of Chemical Kinetics
Chemical kinetics studies and determines the rate or speed at which chemical or physical processes
occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.). The rate of reaction is the speed at which the reactant in a reaction
transforms into products or the change in concentration of a chemical species over the time taken for
that change to occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Mack, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). Chemical reactions
occur at many different rates and in aqueous or equilibrium systems this rate is dependent on the
variables such as the reactivity of reagents, initial concentrations, temperature induced fluctuations
and any means of catalysis. (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). In order to measure rate the
change in concentration in a particular reaction must be determined as well as the time of which this
occurred. However studying the concentration at any time during a reaction is problematic since the
reaction must be stopped and a sample must be removed both which negatively affect accuracy. One
class of reactions that enables the change in concentration to be observed at a particular time is clock
reactions. Ina clock reaction an initial induction phase precedes a significant change in concentration
of a particular species. (Preece, King, Billingham, 1999). The rapid increase in concentration results in
significant effects such as dramatic color change. There are two types of clock reaction: 1. Induction
where as small concentration grows till it results in

Silas Deane Research Paper
History is often said to be what has happened in the past, and a historian s job is to bring that
information back, without distorting it. This undistorted passing of history is often times may not
always be achieved, and the story of the death of Silas Deane is a great example of that The formerly
known story was one of rags to riches, and back to rags. He was born to a humble blacksmith, who
had high aspirations for his son, and sent him off to Yale, where he studied law. He opened his own
practice and was very successful. Not satisfied, he entered into the world of politics, working his way
up the ladder, eventually becoming a delegate to the first and second Continental Congresses, drawing
the attention of leaders. He was then sent to France as the American representative of the colonies,
later joined by Benjamin Franklin and Arthur Lee. He was described as ambitious and someone to be
watched, even accused of using his position in government for personal profit. Further controversy
forced him out of France, America, and England, ending up in Flanders. He lived there until the
controversy died down some and then moved to England, where he lived in obscurity, resorting to
drinking, and living in the house of a prostitute. His one loyal friend, Edward Bancroft, provided
financial support for him. When he thought the coast was clear to move back, he set sail for America
aboard the Boston Packet out of London. On its way, a storm came, blowing out both of the ships
anchors, and it changed course for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not all is known and the facts passed down may not reveal the whole truth. History is biased and can

Life of Idi Amin Essay
Idi Amin was a soldier first and foremost. He imposed a scheduled and militaristic way of life on his
followers. His own military record paints the picture of his rise to power. During British colonization
of Uganda Idi Amin began his endeavor into the military. It was in 1946 that Amin enlisted in the
King s African Rifle s, KAR, the British army in colonized Africa. (Boddy Evans)
Upon his entry he was placed as assistant cook, a far from glorious position. However he managed to
rise through the ranks. He became a Corporal in 1948 and was stationed in Burma, Somalia, and
Kenya. This was during the British situation in Kenya that was referred to as the Mau Mau revolt. The

He did so out of fear of being taken out by Obote because he was seen as a threat to the ex presidents
authority. Secondly he performed a coup because he acknowledged that he was capable of gaining a
higher status of power. Though there were some attempts on Amin s administration he remained in
office from 1971 1979. (Boddy Evans) Idi Amin s time in office was seen as the bloodiest times in his
countries history. Like most dictators he ruled with fear. His crimes against humanity are well
documented and anything that isn t is still spread through word of mouth. It was these erratic actions
that lead to the downfall of the Ugandan economy. (Idi Amin Killer File)
Obote, the man Amin helped into power prior to his own coup, had a positive effect on the economy.
Obote declared a strong national economy with little foreign dependence. Unlike Amin s
administration, these types of statements were not propaganda. In the years of Obote s financial
independence there was an 11% GDP growth in the economy. However Amin s administration left the
country at a negative 0.6% GDP. (Luganda)
Amin was welcomed by most western states such as the United Kingdom and Israel. He was seen as a
gentle giant and worthy of going into business with. This was in part due to the fact

Argumentative Essay On The Gay Rights Movement
The gay rights movement is not a party. It is not a lifestyle... It is not about sin or salvation. The gay
rights movement is an integral part of the American promise of freedom (Urvashi Vaid). Many people
were not supportive of the minority of people coming out to the world and becoming a part of the
LGBTQ+ community. The actions of the many who did not accept the idea of being gay, lesbian or
transgender, would interfere with their confidence and freedom of being who they want to be. The
idea of gay rights was not socially accepted since it had differed from the social norm of a male and
female sexually attracted to one another. However, there would be a safe haven in most cities for the
LGBTQ+ community to thrive and reveal themselves towards the people that truly accepted them for
who they are. Although there were very few safe havens around, these places would be tormented by
the police and many of the people in them would become oppressed since they wanted to be in a place
of acceptance. From June 28, 1969 through July 1, 1969, the gay community faced massive
oppression from police raids in Greenwich Village, NYC at Stonewall Inn, which caused them to start
a riot which ignited a major conflict for the sake of their own safety and freedom. This riot allowed
them to show their oppressors that they are human as well and are able to fight back for themselves
and for the future generations ahead of them. Due to the lack of a formal compromise between the gay
community and the police, many people questioned as well as oppressed them because of certain
religious aspects and social norms, but the conflict resulted in the development of the Gay Liberation
Front and allowing the LGBTQ+ community to freely express themselves. Within many religions,
especially in Christianity, it is said that same sex relations are a sin. Since most of the Americans
around this time were Christian, many of them believed that the relations between a girl and a girl or a
guy and guy were so foreign due to the belief that God created men and women so that only these
genders could be together. Organizations were made to stop the gay community from flourishing.
They also made many feel like there was something wrong

Gibbs Model Of Gynaecology
Introduction
In this assignment, I will be reflecting on my performance as a senior gynaecology registrar on how I
supported the GP (general practice) junior doctors that started working in my department. I will
examine and reflect on my plan of action for their smooth adaptation in the unit and the development
of the gynaecological emergency skills.
I will be using Gibbs (1998) model of reflection. I chose this framework as I found it helpful for
structuring my reflection thoughts.
I will approach Amabile and Kramer s Progress Theory (Using Small Wins to Enhance Motivation),
who wrote in detail about how progress can boost performance in their 2011 book, The Progress
Principle using 6 steps:
1. Set clear goals and objectives.

Fit Man Cook s Quesadilla
I, J.L., must confess that I have become a full fledged foodie. I mean, when you re subscribed to
numerous YouTube channels and have a folder with bookmarked recipes it s time to admit the fact.
And what better way to celebrate it then with a recipe.
The recipe was inspired from Fit Man Cook s quesadilla. I decided to take it one step further and add
spinach and black olives with tzatziki sauce on the side.
I will freely admit I m not a chef and I had to estimate how much of each ingredient I put in my
quesadilla so feel free to adjust where you see fit.

The Teachability Dilemma of Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurs are a very, or perhaps the most, important boost in our economy. They do not only take
the risk for the sake of a business, but also they provide our economy with employment opportunities
and culture. A society can only be prosperous only when it rewards and encourages entrepreneurial
activity because in fact, it is the entrepreneurs and their activities that are the critical factor for
success, prosperity, growth and opportunity in any given economy. Entrepreneurship is not easy and it
comes with its own risks and up and downs. On the last decade, entrepreneurship has rose and
expanded, with this change and constant expansion, it has changed the rules of entrepreneurship once
again. But I certainly believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He or she must accept enough risk to innovate and create, but not so much that the business or activity
is not profitable.
Entrepreneurs also require certain characteristics that are necessary for success. The characteristics of
many entrepreneurs include spontaneous creativity and a willingness to make decisions in the absence
of solid data. He or she may be driven by a need to create something new or build something tangible.
As new enterprises have low success rates, a person in this role must also have considerable
persistence. He or she may have the greatest chance of success by focusing on a market niche either
too small or too new to have been dominated by established businesses.
One of the disadvantages of being an entrepreneur is that it has a lot of vulnerabilities. For example,
entrepreneurs may face social risk if their innovations challenge societal norms, or they may face
psychological risk as their hard work affects their families peace of mind. Many find that the
independence, notoriety, and feeling of contributing something valuable to society that often come
with being an entrepreneur outweigh these dangers.
All of this values mentioned above are characteristics required in a great, perhaps on all successful,
entrepreneurs. But everybody needs to find the characteristics needed in

The Effect Of Myasthenia Gravis On The Body s Immune System
Definition:
Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a chronic autoimmune disorder of the neuromuscular system part of the
body. Chronic means persisting for a long time or constantly recurring. Autoimmune disorder is the
confusion of the body s immune system. The immune system form antibodies that mistakenly identify
healthy tissue as foreign and then, the antibodies will attack and/or destroy healthy body tissue.
Neuromuscular is the nervous system relationship with the muscles bring about body movement.
Myasthenia Gravis affects the neuromuscular junction. Neuromuscular junction is the connection or
meeting place of the nerve and a muscle fiber. The nerves communicate with the muscle fiber by

difficulty. Chest muscles may also be affected, causing difficulty with breathing. This particular
symptom may cause serious problems, called a myasthenic crisis
Diagnosis:
MG may be difficult to diagnose and may not be determined for a couple of years. Reasons are as

be signs and symptoms of other diseases, one or more of the voluntary muscle groups may experience
weakness and with different degrees of severity, and also every patient may experiences the disease
differently. After the medical history and physical examination, the physician may see a need for
further muscle and neurological tests. Blood tests can detect abnormal antibodies. Nerve conduction
studies and repetitive stimulation tests the nerve s communication with the muscle. When stimulated a
number of times the test will indicate muscle weakness. Single fiber (EMG) electromyography is a
test that measures the communication between the nerve and a muscle by inserting a small needle into
a single muscle and recording the electrical muscle activity. CT scan or MRI may be ordered to check

Going To Die-Personal Narrative
It was a cold winter s day, a siren echoed in the distance. Probably just another drill, there had been
many since the news was announced. The streets had been evacuated a couple of weeks ago, everyone
who could afford to leave anyway. The richest residents were taken to nuclear bunkers, with food
water, and shelter. I m walking home from school at the moment. I didn t go to learn. The teachers are
at the bunkers. I went to scavenge; food, water, and money. There s everything you could ever need
there. We know we re going to die anyway. The bombs are meant to be dropped in a couple of days.
With no protection, no money, and no hope, how can anyone put up a fight against a gigantic ball of
fiery death? Radiation is to be the greatest killer; we re being reminded by the government regularly.

Forensic Accounting Curriculum
Forensic accounting is defined as the action of identifying, recording, settling, extracting, sorting,
reporting, and verifying past financial data or other accounting activities for settling current or
prospective legal disputes or using such past financial data for projecting future financial data to settle
legal disputes . Forensic accountant are very important part of the business for the expert services,
legal system such as financial statement analysis on securities and exchange tax, fraud schemes and
bankruptcy. However forensic accounting is used for the investigation and prosecution of fraud.
(Curtis, 2008) Said, that accounting curriculum needs to be upgraded because accounting
professionals or accountants are key player in account management and financial management.
Accountants are involved in accounting practices and fraudulent activities therefore there is need for
forensic accounting curriculum. Curriculum plays a major role in accountant s professional life
because what they learn during their studies, they execute it as well.
Therefore curriculum needs to be improving and forensic accounting curriculum must be reduced to
prevent frauds. Moreover legal and regulatory environment and ethics are key and essential
components of a fraud and it should be include in curriculum. (Curtis, 2008) suggested that curriculum

The Mythological Beginning Of Ayurveda Medicine
Introduction
Ayurveda philosophy states that optimal health and healing can occur through the connection of the
mind, body, behavior, and environment.
History
The mythological beginning of ayurveda medicine begins with Brahma god of creation, Vishnu god of
preserving creation and Shiva god of destroying creation. These three gods work in harmony together
to create and maintain a balanced universe. The story of medicine begins with the Churning of the
Ocean the belief that the bottom of the ocean contains valuable things which needed to be returned.

Identity And Sense Of Homosexuality
My first inkling that something was different was when I went on the Internet this morning and ended

homosexual, with it being universally accepted and widely preferred. Heterosexuality was a minority
and therefore, so was I.
Sure, I ve been aware that people dislike differences and seek similarities, but being on the receiving

The idea is that self complexity can buffer threats and aid in building resilience and balance, and this
affect can spread across domains when one has better interconnected domains. For example, someone
who sees themselves as a mother, a lawyer, a wife, a martial artist etc. From what I ve experienced
online so far, heterosexuals are condensed into just that one defining domain which influences the way
others treat them and consequently the way they see themselves, and a lack of self complexity like that
can leave you vulnerable to stressors and ultimately lead to anxiety and depression. The Social
Identity Theory (Tajfel, 1974), the idea that we learn about the self through our memberships in
certain groups, is also a huge factor in the formation of an identity. Before, when heterosexuality was
the majority, I never gave much thought to my sexuality, it just was what it was. The thing is, that s
still true, it s what it is. But now there seems to be so many connotations and attributions linked to
heterosexuality that I almost wish it was a choice because my thoughts are mostly made up of
confusion and the feelings of unacceptance, fear of being ostracized, and being seen as Other . Just
reading about the way some people feel about heterosexuality made me feel anxious about the
prospect that every single person in my life has the potential to shun me, maybe even hate me once

At the same time, Brexit means that the UK might exit the EU Free Trade Area (FTA),which means
that most agreements, regulations and legal basis, the British economy relying on their to develop, will
be broken and economic volatility will occur. Accounting to the estimation of WTO (World Trade
Organization), these potential failure agreements occupy about 80% of UK s trade around the world.
For example, the UK need to try its best to get access to European single market, need to negotiate
with other 60 countries and regions for the EU trade agreement etc.. In addition, if Brexit succeed, the
right of Britain in the EU trade policy will be reduced, for example, the UK is difficult to take part in
the negotiations about Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) directly.
As from different industries, the strongest influence will happen in financial industry. London is an
international financial centre, because of the Brexit, its status around the world will decline gradually.
Currently, the UK accounts for more than 40% of global foreign exchange transactions, and lots of
European financial institutions set up their headquarters in London, therefore most European countries

to throughput within the manufacturing environment. The video depicts the ideology that a process

The take away from this video is obvious in a sense that it points out a process is only as strong as its

Discuss Inventory Management (Chapter 20) from the perspective of cost, customer satisfaction and
profitability. What is the Wal Mart approach to Inventory Management? Inventory costs are basically
categorized into several different elements, but the elements that are typically derive the most impact
to the bottom line are ordering costs and carrying costs. However, costs associated to shortages or
stock outs, the cost of replenishment, cost of logistics, and cost associated with loss, pilferage,
shrinkage and obsolescence are significant to profitability too.
Ordering costs are based on two different factors including the ordering of excess inventory or not
enough. In some instances, procurement departments are challenged with purchasing decisions
whereas vendors will offer better buying prices if they tend to order in larger quantities. Initially, the
cost savings may seem beneficial up front, however, far too often the actually savings is not ever
realized because the inventory becomes obsolete and written off as excess. On the contrary, ordering
insufficient amount of inventory can result in stock outs and loss of sales ultimately affecting

Essay on Parallelism of Satan and Eve in John Milton´s...
In John Milton s Paradise Lost, the parallelism between Satan and Eve s fall is strong in that they were
once both the highest before pure perfection. Lucifer is associated with evil, which stems from his free
will leading to his rebellion against God and, ultimately, his great fall. He is known as the one who
introduces sin to Adam and Eve the first humans to ever exist. His plan to go against God is the
beginning of a whole new world to the universe and a whole new significance of himself as the one
known for human error and evil. Eve, the mother of human race, is Satan s target to pull her down to
his world of sin because she also wishes to become independent of Adam making her susceptible to
anything that can separate her from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, craving independence from God ferociously backfires on Satan when he finds out that even
after leaving hell, he cannot escape it, which way [he] [flies] is Hell, [he] [himself] is Hell, (IV, 75).
Satan finds his way to revolt against and separate from God to overrule Heaven and become king,
instead however, he takes on the role of the representation of all evil which is evidently seen in his
interactions with Eve. Eve s hunger to become independent from Adam and all she is commanded to
do is similar to Satan s situation in that their yearn for power and singular identity lead them to revolt
against their creator. Her desire to separate from Adam is first seen when she is introduced to the
audience in her state of narcissism. She sees a reflection of herself in a pond and is in awe of her
beauty of sympathy and love, (IV, 465) which shows the parallelism to Satan s own arrogant vanity.

The Need for Network Security
By: Jose L. Rodriguez
The Need for Network Security
The primary objective with this paper deals with how network security systems protect, detect, adapt,
recover and/or reconfigured from anomalies in order to provide some desired level of security
services. This paper is a strategy for the development of a general security mechanism/countermeasure
valuation scheme. The general objective addresses the question, Given the value of information to be
protected and the threat environment, how strong and assured should security mechanism(s) be to
provide desired security services(s)? [DEL98]

Why the Internet is Vulnerable
In the beginning network protocols that formed part of the Internet infrastructure were designed
without security in mind. Without a fundamentally secure infrastructure, network defense becomes
more difficult. Furthermore, the Internet is an extremely dynamic environment in terms of both
topology and emerging technology. [COH95]
First, because of the inherent openness of the Internet and the original design of the protocols, Internet
attacks in general are quick, easy, inexpensive, and may be hard to detect or trace. [KRO92]
Second, many sites place unwarranted trust in the Internet. It is common for sites to be unaware of the
risks or unconcerned about the amount of the trust they place in the Internet.
Third, much of the traffic on the Internet is not encrypted, confidentiality and integrity are difficult to
achieve. This situation undermines not only applications (such as financial applications that are
network based) but also more fundamental mechanisms such as authentication and no repudiation.
Fourth, another factor contributing to the vulnerability of the Internet is the rapid growth and use of
the network, accompanied by rapid deployment of the network services involving complex
applications. Often these services are not designed, configured, or maintained

Transformational Leadership Style Assessment
Leadership Style Assessment
According to Kent assessment leadership tool, I am a transformational leader. This type of leader
collaborate, encourage and motivate their team members using charisma (University of Kent, n.d).
Transformational leadership style is very meaningful to me because I have the trust and confidence of
people that allow me to influence them to adopt change. Transformational leadership has been linked
to effective leader, with higher job productivity and satisfaction rates, and stronger motivation skills
(Brandt, Edinger, 2015). Transformational leadership style describe me. I encourage my team

Tolkien s Female Characters in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy
In Tolkien s Middle Earth, women are generally expected to submit to patriarchal authority. To what
extent does Tolkien present women who succeed in subverting this norm?
J.R.R. Tolkien s works have been analysed for decades and have often been criticised for the lack of
female characters. Arguably his most cherished publications, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, in
particular has been condemned for the passivity of his relatively few female characters. Having said
that however, throughout the three books, there are a number of female characters who combat the
stereotypical role of women and subvert the norm of submission to a patriarchal authority. Arwen,

Elrond expects Arwen to fulfill her role as Elven royalty by traveling with the people of Rivendell to
Grey Havens, to find peace and everlasting life in Valinor. However, she wishes to remain in Middle
Earth to be Aragorn s partner thereby giving up her immortality. Although at first Arwen honours her
father s wishes and embarks on the journey with the Elven people to the Havens, she returns to
Rivendell after she has a vision of what she believes to be her future, and confronts her father with it.
The vision was of her son and Aragorn, a vision which brings her hope and strengthens her will to
remain in Middle Earth. This strength is different to what was expected of women at that time. It
allows Arwen to rebel against her father s will and follow the destiny she chooses for herself. Her
choice, however, is ironic because she longs to fulfill the duties of a housewife, which other female
characters in the Lord of the Rings rebel against, such as Éowyn.
Arwen s most prominent significant relationship is with Aragorn, which in itself is a conflicted one.
While Arwen s desire is to be with him, she puts her duties to her people and her father before him.
However, in Peter Jackson s film adaptation, she validates the significance of her relationship with
Aragorn by gifting him the Evenstar in the form of a pendant, the object representation of herself
(Arwen s name means Evenstar), to be kept with

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Abstract
Abstract NMR is a form of spectroscopy that utilizes external magnetic fields and signals to identify
the chemical structure of organic molecules, creating a gradient image. Through applying an applied
Radio Frequency, the proton is able to flip into higher energy states, and then relax. This process is
recorded by a NMR Spectrometer, and the difference in energy provides it with a certain NMR Signal.
The difference in the magnetic fields of the allows for a gradient image of the area. There are various
types of imaging that are useful for fast imaging or 3D imaging such as Gradient Echo Imaging or
Volume Imaging. Some other applications of the same principles that apply to MRIs mainly relate to
the identification of organic molecules such as Protein Folding and Drug Development. Although MRI
is a relatively safe and harmless process as opposed to other forms of imaging such as X rays, certain
aspects still pose a risk to patients ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the prevalence of Hydrogen atoms the human body, their NMR signals are what allows for the
identification of the molecule. Although not all protons have a spin, the spin on the hydrogen proton
allows it to have its own magnetic field and NMR signal. A key property is the spin of the proton. The
spin of a proton is expressed in ± k (1/2), where k is a coefficient. During the NMR process, an
external magnetic field is applied on the protons, partially polarizing them. This will cause them to all
align in the same orientation, around the magnetic field direction, as it is the easiest to maintain that
position. This is called the Minimum Magnetic Potential Energy. Its other spin state is its high energy
spin state, where it spins in the opposite direction around the magnetic field. The Magnetic Dipole
Moment defines the spin on a proton and is shown with the

The Glass as Half Full: A Reflection of the Unseen in Sappho to Philaenis
Skepticism surrounding John Donne s Sappho to Philaenis relates to the fact that the societal structure
at the time the poem was written was one dominated by heterosexual, misogynistic men, suggesting
that Donne s treatment of female homosexuality was geared towards the satiation of these
heterosexual males desires, these men being his primary audience at the time. However, the
significance of Donne s poem must be explored on another level. In contrast to the view that the piece
was meant to represent a male dominant society, an alternate view is that the poem originates from a
place of protofeminism and a pioneering sexual outlook on Donne s part. In Sappho to Philaenis, the
purity and secrecy of the two women s sexuality functions as a significant argument for the validity of
same sex relationships; Donne makes the invisible the erotic, thereby defining a discourse for
lesbianism. Early modern literature penned by heterosexual males and referencing lesbian
relationships should not be dismissed as being inauthentic and inaccurate depictions solely based on
the fact that a male perspective is given with regard to these relationships. James Holstun claims that
Donne takes the concepts of sameness, oneness, and mirroring in Sappho to Philaenis and infuses a
heterosexist judgment, viewing lesbianism from a sterile, impersonal

Smokey Coming Home
When we answered the ad about the horses for sale for my children, it never occurred to me that I
would be bringing one home for me. He was the first thing I saw when we pulled up. His coat was
swirls of black and gray with no distinguishable pattern. It made me think of smoke rising from a
chimney. He was starving thin, and his bones showed through his smokey coat. He was staked to the
bare ground. One could see he had already eaten everything his tether would let him reach. In my
mind, he was already mine. I named him Smokey before we even got out of the truck.
Just a few feet away was another horse, pure white, well fed and positively stunning. We asked the
man about the difference in how the horses were being fed, he explained; he knew he would get more
money for the white one, so he took better care of him.He knew that I wanted Smokey, he saw it in my
eyes. They come as a pair, he said. Then we saw another one, who was worse off than Smokey. There
was no way I was going to let either one of those starving animals stay.
My husband David said we only brought enough money for one of the horses, but he had a few guns

Bachelor s and Master s degree from Harvard, in which he graduated near the top of his class. He
submitted many of his poems to the newspaper at Harvard, which sparked his interest towards a career
as a poet. When his first poem was published, the publisher left all the letters of E.E. Cummings name

I can t remember what attracted us to the Smokies in the first place. It may have been the charming

shows in the area. We both enjoy the outdoors, and access to most of the park s most picturesque trails
was only a twenty minute drive from Pigeon Forge. When we had the desire to hike off the beaten
path, an hour long drive took us to the remotest park areas where, even in the busiest seasons, we
could do a ten or fifteen mile day hike without meeting a soul. There are about nine hundred miles of
trails in the Smokies. Even though they only occupy about 800 square miles and are only about half

Although the project team made an attempt to manage risk by performing risk analysis from early out,
there was no attempt of managing the risk from a strategic perspective. For example, normally towers
are built up to 6 or 7 times the width of the base, but this tower was designed to be 10 times taller.

Kupperman begins her article with a summary of standard body humor belief, while criticising the
European belief that uncommon climates drastically affected their health. Nevertheless, once
colonization of the West Indies and the Americas began, Europeans quickly realized the benefits of
warmer climates, such as increases in crop production, harvest, and variety. Negatives were also
analyzed as weeds ran rampant and working hours were compromised around the hottest parts of the
day. Adaptation and acclimation were central components of new colonization lifestyle, which
included altering physiology through trained sweating and diet, wearing lighter and informal articles
of clothing, and building homes in different locations and out if different materials. Colonists
generally learned their survival skills from natives, who offered their own remedies to medical
conditions such as heat stroke and yellow fever, which colonists quickly adapted as the diseases of the
West Indies seemingly contrasted from those of Europe. Although Europeans originally denied their
possible success and survival in the New World, many found that immense production accompanied
the climate change, which was worth the health risks and lifestyle

Design And Cross Pollination Of Fields And Practices
It is believed that due to the high level of risk undertaken by the client and intrusted in the designers
that it is now a safer option to put the contractors in the driving seat rather than the architects who
simply provide the design (Jamieson.C, 2010and that larger multidisciplinary practices containing
architects, surveyors and contractors would be even more prevalent in fifteen years time because they
are able to carry the risk on behalf of the client (Jamieson.C, 2010). So surely if architects are no

Weston believed that the stylistic postmodernism of the 1980 s (risk), had threatened to reduce
architecture to a stylish fad. He believed that the risk architects felt upon themselves meant that In its
place it was argued the case for buildings that are monumental and anti heroic, and grounded in the
familiar routine and environments of daily life( Weston.R, 2011). Due to the amount of money and
time needed to be invested into building architecture the industry can take astronomical hits during
financial crisis such as the credit crunch in 2008. Risk plays a huge part in the way we build and create
architecture. For the architect, a great deal of risk is encountered by intrusting the client to pay for our

Iodations of all salt known as USI for both human and animal consumption, is the major global
strategy of choice for feasible and effective control of iodine deficiency. Iodization levels are usually
measured based on estimated consumption of salt, with an estimated individual average consumption
of around 10g of salt per day in countries where most of the salt in the diet comes from table salt, used
for cooking and at the table. It is recommended by the WHO, UNICEF and ICCIDD that, 20 mg to 40
mg of iodine per kg salt be added to food products depending on local salt intake (15, 19, 31). It has

Performance Based Budgeting As The Reformative Approach...
Performance Based Budgeting as the Reformative Approach for Developing Countries
Introduction
Developing countries, or newly industrialized countries are focusing to achieve the status of
developed nations. The recent multilateral trade agreement signed between the US and other
developed countries shows the untapped potential they can serve. Due to the underutilized resources in
the countries, their GDPs are growing fas. Malaysia, for example, have set the goal to become on par
with other developed countries such as the US, UK, and Germany by the year 2020(World Bank,
2016). To achieve the vision, these countries must adopt reformative approach to enhance the function
of government in their countries, and from the perspective of this paper, it is suggested for them to
adopt the performance based budgeting in their administration because of its efficiency and
accountability natures.
Problem Description
Issues that are most common in developing countries are the inefficiency of the government to cater
the economic needs and the corruption happening in the administration (Shah, 2007).
It is hoped that through out this paper, we are able to demonstrate how performance based budgeting
could be the reformative approach towards development for developing countries.
Background
There are three budgetary approaches used in the modern world; line item and incremental budgeting,
zero based budgeting and performance based budgeting (Hager, 2001).

A Research Study On Relational Database Technology
Abstract. In this report I will introduce the Memcached technology and provide more details about it.
In addition, I will explain how it works and how it differs than relational database technology.
Furthermore, I will use the finding of the paper Performance Evaluation of a Clustered Memcached to
present how Memcached can improve the performance of the web applications. The paper that I did
study is about a simulation project of using three different architectures of Memcached. The
simulation results will monitor the CPU and RAM usability of all the nodes in these three
architectures. I will explain the results and will discuss the findings of their results.
The relational database technology dominated the web applications for more than 30 years. This
technology is able to handle limited load to the database. However, the internet technologies and the
advents of the smart phones make the web applications to be accessible by many users and from any
location that is covered by the internet connectivity. In addition, currently, the web data in the internet
is dominated by the social networking and social media applications which include: Facebook,
Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and others. This kind of web applications will likely be prone to the high
load of the database layer. As a result, it was not possible for the relational database technology to
handle the database load for such applications. Even scaling out the application servers will not solve
the database load

Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card Essay
Ender s Game, by Orson Scott Card, is an exceptional novel created by an extremely smart, intuitive,
and talented individual. This novel deals with several of societies issues and is almost satire,
comparable to Mark Twain s Huckleberry Finn. Some topics that are prominent in Ender s Game are
compassion, humanity, and the relationship between adults and children. These three elements define
the main character, Ender, and influence the way he makes decisions and eventually changes the
world. The setting of this particular novel is in several places (including Greensboro, N.C., Battle
School, and Command School (on Eros, one of Saturn s Moons)), but takes place somewhere in the
future. From context clues, it may take place in as soon as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to Mazer Rackham s genius, the Formic Fleet was defeated. In preparation for the Formic s third
invasion, the International Fleet constructed Battle School and Command school to train the smartest
children in the world with the best tactical minds with rigorous training. Due to the urgency that was
taken to defeat the Formics, once and for all, the International Fleet, a new governing body that was
like United Nations on steroids, orders that children would be raised to be the smartest the world had
ever seen. Ender was one of those children. He was chosen at the age of 6 to go to Battle School, an
orbiting school that taught the children how to be good military tacticians in the heat of battle. This
was accomplished in the battle room, a large cube room with no gravity. Cadets are given a gun that,
when shot at another cadet wearing a flash suit, causes the particular body part that was shot to freeze
and become immobile. If a cadet was hit in the stomach, their entire body would become immobile.
When Ender first arrived to Battle School, he was in a group known as the launchies, because they had
just arrived to the school. After about a year, these launchies progressed into an Army, or a group of 40
soldiers aged anywhere from 8 12. Because Ender was so smart, he was progressed into an army after
only 2 months in the launch group, unheard of in the history of the school. The commander of

Annexation Of The Philippines Essay
The bald red, white, and blue eagle of American Democracy is coming for you Phillipines, run while
you can! Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States, was so infatuated with the idea
of democracy, and he wanted every country to have a little taste of American freedom! After America
s victory in the Spanish American War, George Dewey and his 11,000 American troops marched into
manila and were unsure whether to liberate or occupy the filipino people. Thinking the they were here
to help, the Filipino rebels trusted the Americans, but were soon betrayed as Dewey decided to occupy
the land. The United States had three choices to determine what they wanted to do with the
Philippines: Give it back to Spain, Give the filipino people their freedom, or to annex the whole
country itself. With much debate ranging from artists, influential citizens, and government officials,
the US ultimately decided it would annex! The United States should not have annexed the Philippines
but rather should have given them their independence. While others may think the annexation of the
Philippines would have benefited them, what the Philippines really needed was ... Show more content

Role of Women During and After the Age of Revolutions Essay
There have been many stereotypical views and misconceptions about the role of women during and
after the age of revolutions. Although the role of women did change, it is important to understand their
position before the revolutions in order to wager how their role changed and of course, to what extent.
It would be unrealistic to assume that all women during this period fell into one category. There are
many factors to consider and so it is vital to address how different types of women behaved in their
varied working and living environments.
In pre industrial Europe the life of a single woman can be regarded as extremely difficult from an
economic perspective. Most single women, irrespective of age, belonged to a family, ... Show more

The French Revolution was going to make the lives of all Frenchmen better, why not for the women
as well? That is exactly how Olympe De Gouges a devoted enthusiast of the French Revolution felt.
She saw that there was something more to reach for. The stirring winds of the revolution blew back
the curtains and showed women that they could and should be living a life with the same opportunities
and rights that men have.
Olympe De Gouges wrote the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Citizens, her work was
echoing the Declaration of Rights of Man and of the Citizen. She wrote this statement in order to
claim equal legal rights for women and the protection of civil rights among wives and mothers.
Olympe De Gouges goal was to open the eyes of women that they haven t gained any advantages in
the French Revolution, that women need to summon the forces of reason against their hopeless
affectation of supremacy. According to the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Citizens
Olympe De Gouges says it is in your power to overturn them. What she means by them are the men
that stand in their way of equality, that the old regime is over with and it s time to be seen something
else other than ...a brainless person (p.99). In the declaration she talks about the life of a women born
into a rich family as well as a women born into a poor family, how both differ that in a rich family the
women gains equality

The Dangers Of Freedom In The Film Under The Same Moon
Freedom is acquired through adversity. Adversity comes with fear. Many breakthroughs may they be
scientific, political, or social, have come about after overcoming adversity. Fear is natural and
expected when making decisions that will alter the future. But despite this fear, breakthroughs are still
possible. Every day, people are pushing at the boundaries of life to expand general knowledge and to
build better lives for them and their children. Some may say that fear is a big enough threat to stop
freedom. However, I assert that fear accompanies freedom and every time freedom is established, no
matter how insignificant, fear is overcame. When fleeing from oppression or taking huge risks in life
in hopes of obtaining physical or financial freedom, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are some who argue that when a woman decides to dress in a way that shows off her skin, she is
asking for negative attention from men. This reason is why the locker room behavior of men is
borderline accepted in primarily American culture. When women are told that the way that they dress
puts themselves in danger with men, it shames females into thinking that their freedom to dress is less
important because they have to worry about how they are going to be treated. Though I concede that
there is no reason to show off inappropriate areas of the body publicly, I still insist that a woman
should be able to choose to wear what she wants without being afraid of the consequences. After all,
clothes are just clothes. My main point is that women shouldn t have to be afraid because their
freedom is more valuable than any man who would take advantage of them. Being safe in this
circumstance is purely outrageous when the fact that women can wear clothes however they want and
choose their freedom over the safety that is ensured by covering up. Another example that goes hand
in hand with freedom to wear what is chosen is the clear backpacks that students of Parkland High
School in Florida are required to now use as a result of the shooting in February. The freedom of these
students is being taken away so that teachers and administrators can ensure that the students are not

INVESTIGATION OF THE INHERITANCE OF THE ROSETTE GENE IN BRASSICA RAPA
By: Justine Poorbaugh

April 21, 2011
ABSTRACT
The Brassica rapa is a rapid growing plant that has a standard form and a mutant rosette form. Relative
to normal plants, the rosette form is shorter and takes longer to flower. The mode of inheritance of the
rosette gene was tested by crossing two true breeding plants, one of each form. The F1 generation was
then cross pollinated to produce an F2 generation. The phenotypes of each generation were recorded
and a chi square test was performed. The F1 offspring were almost entirely standard form, and the F2
followed the Mendelian ratio of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a week, the phenotypes of the plants were recorded in Table 2. The strongest plant in each cell
was left in the quad, and the others were removed in order to thin the plants.
Pollinating Flowers The plants were continually monitored and watered when needed. At
approximately two weeks from the day the seeds were planted, several flowers were open on the
plants. The plants were then cross pollinated using a pollinating wand. The pollen from one plant was
transferred to another, using approximately eight flowers. This was done three different days with one
day in between. After the third pollination, the unopened buds were removed. The plants were kept
watered, and the new buds and shoots were removed for the next 14 days.
Harvesting Seeds Once 14 days had passed from the day of the third pollination, the quad was
removed from the watering tray and left to dry for a week. Then, the dry seed pods were removed and
cracked open so that the seeds could be collected.
Germinating Seeds A piece of filter paper was moistened and then placed in a petri dish, and any
excess water was poured off. The harvested seeds were then placed in neat rows on the upper two
thirds of the filter paper. The petri dish was then tilted on end in a water reservoir containing
approximately two centimeters of water. The reservoir and dish were then placed under the fluorescent
light to germinate for 48 hours. After the 48 hours, the

  • 2. The Importance Of Chemical Kinetics Chemical kinetics studies and determines the rate or speed at which chemical or physical processes occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.). The rate of reaction is the speed at which the reactant in a reaction transforms into products or the change in concentration of a chemical species over the time taken for that change to occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Mack, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). Chemical reactions occur at many different rates and in aqueous or equilibrium systems this rate is dependent on the variables such as the reactivity of reagents, initial concentrations, temperature induced fluctuations and any means of catalysis. (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). In order to measure rate the change in concentration in a particular reaction must be determined as well as the time of which this occurred. However studying the concentration at any time during a reaction is problematic since the reaction must be stopped and a sample must be removed both which negatively affect accuracy. One class of reactions that enables the change in concentration to be observed at a particular time is clock reactions. Ina clock reaction an initial induction phase precedes a significant change in concentration of a particular species. (Preece, King, Billingham, 1999). The rapid increase in concentration results in significant effects such as dramatic color change. There are two types of clock reaction: 1. Induction where as small concentration grows till it results in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Silas Deane Research Paper History is often said to be what has happened in the past, and a historian s job is to bring that information back, without distorting it. This undistorted passing of history is often times may not always be achieved, and the story of the death of Silas Deane is a great example of that The formerly known story was one of rags to riches, and back to rags. He was born to a humble blacksmith, who had high aspirations for his son, and sent him off to Yale, where he studied law. He opened his own practice and was very successful. Not satisfied, he entered into the world of politics, working his way up the ladder, eventually becoming a delegate to the first and second Continental Congresses, drawing the attention of leaders. He was then sent to France as the American representative of the colonies, later joined by Benjamin Franklin and Arthur Lee. He was described as ambitious and someone to be watched, even accused of using his position in government for personal profit. Further controversy forced him out of France, America, and England, ending up in Flanders. He lived there until the controversy died down some and then moved to England, where he lived in obscurity, resorting to drinking, and living in the house of a prostitute. His one loyal friend, Edward Bancroft, provided financial support for him. When he thought the coast was clear to move back, he set sail for America aboard the Boston Packet out of London. On its way, a storm came, blowing out both of the ships anchors, and it changed course for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Life of Idi Amin Essay Idi Amin was a soldier first and foremost. He imposed a scheduled and militaristic way of life on his followers. His own military record paints the picture of his rise to power. During British colonization of Uganda Idi Amin began his endeavor into the military. It was in 1946 that Amin enlisted in the King s African Rifle s, KAR, the British army in colonized Africa. (Boddy Evans) Upon his entry he was placed as assistant cook, a far from glorious position. However he managed to rise through the ranks. He became a Corporal in 1948 and was stationed in Burma, Somalia, and Kenya. This was during the British situation in Kenya that was referred to as the Mau Mau revolt. The Mau Mau gunmen were a secret society of rebels which aimed to over ... Like most dictators he ruled with fear. His crimes against humanity are well documented and anything that isn t is still spread through word of mouth. It was these erratic actions that lead to the downfall of the Ugandan economy. (Idi Amin Killer File) Obote, the man Amin helped into power prior to his own coup, had a positive effect on the economy. Obote declared a strong national economy with little foreign dependence. Unlike Amin s administration, these types of statements were not propaganda. In the years of Obote s financial independence there was an 11% GDP growth in the economy. • 5. Argumentative Essay On The Gay Rights Movement The gay rights movement is not a party. It is not a lifestyle... It is not about sin or salvation. The gay rights movement is an integral part of the American promise of freedom (Urvashi Vaid). Many people were not supportive of the minority of people coming out to the world and becoming a part of the LGBTQ+ community. The actions of the many who did not accept the idea of being gay, lesbian or transgender, would interfere with their confidence and freedom of being who they want to be. The idea of gay rights was not socially accepted since it had differed from the social norm of a male and female sexually attracted to one another. However, there would be a safe haven in most cities for the LGBTQ+ community to thrive and reveal themselves towards the people that truly accepted them for who they are. Although there were very few safe havens around, these places would be tormented by the police and many of the people in them would become oppressed since they wanted to be in a place of acceptance. From June 28, 1969 through July 1, 1969, the gay community faced massive oppression from police raids in Greenwich Village, NYC at Stonewall Inn, which caused them to start a riot which ignited a major conflict for the sake of their own safety and freedom. This riot allowed them to show their oppressors that they are human as well and are able to fight back for themselves and for the future generations ahead of them. Due to the lack of a formal compromise between the gay community and the police, many people questioned as well as oppressed them because of certain religious aspects and social norms, but the conflict resulted in the development of the Gay Liberation Front and allowing the LGBTQ+ community to freely express themselves. Within many religions, especially in Christianity, it is said that same sex relations are a sin. Since most of the Americans around this time were Christian, many of them believed that the relations between a girl and a girl or a guy and guy were so foreign due to the belief that God created men and women so that only these genders could be together. Organizations were made to stop the gay community from flourishing. They also made many feel like there was something wrong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I chose this framework as I found it helpful for structuring my reflection thoughts. • 8. The Teachability Dilemma of Entrepreneurship Entrepreneurs are a very, or perhaps the most, important boost in our economy. They do not only take the risk for the sake of a business, but also they provide our economy with employment opportunities and culture. A society can only be prosperous only when it rewards and encourages entrepreneurial activity because in fact, it is the entrepreneurs and their activities that are the critical factor for success, prosperity, growth and opportunity in any given economy. Entrepreneurship is not easy and it comes with its own risks and up and downs. On the last decade, entrepreneurship has rose and expanded, with this change and constant expansion, it has changed the rules of entrepreneurship once again. But I certainly believe that ... Entrepreneurs also require certain characteristics that are necessary for success. The characteristics of many entrepreneurs include spontaneous creativity and a willingness to make decisions in the absence of solid data. He or she may have the greatest chance of success by focusing on a market niche either too small or too new to have been dominated by established businesses. One of the disadvantages of being an entrepreneur is that it has a lot of vulnerabilities. For example, entrepreneurs may face social risk if their innovations challenge societal norms, or they may face psychological risk as their hard work affects their families peace of mind. Many find that the independence, notoriety, and feeling of contributing something valuable to society that often come with being an entrepreneur outweigh these dangers. The Social Identity Theory (Tajfel, 1974), the idea that we learn about the self through our memberships in certain groups, is also a huge factor in the formation of an identity. What is the Wal Mart approach to Inventory Management? Inventory costs are basically categorized into several different elements, but the elements that are typically derive the most impact to the bottom line are ordering costs and carrying costs. However, costs associated to shortages or stock outs, the cost of replenishment, cost of logistics, and cost associated with loss, pilferage, shrinkage and obsolescence are significant to profitability too. Ordering costs are based on two different factors including the ordering of excess inventory or not enough. In some instances, procurement departments are challenged with purchasing decisions whereas vendors will offer better buying prices if they tend to order in larger quantities. Initially, the cost savings may seem beneficial up front, however, far too often the actually savings is not ever realized because the inventory becomes obsolete and written off as excess. On the contrary, ordering insufficient amount of inventory can result in stock outs and loss of sales ultimately affecting customer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Essay on Parallelism of Satan and Eve in John Milton´s... In John Milton s Paradise Lost, the parallelism between Satan and Eve s fall is strong in that they were once both the highest before pure perfection. Lucifer is associated with evil, which stems from his free will leading to his rebellion against God and, ultimately, his great fall. He is known as the one who introduces sin to Adam and Eve the first humans to ever exist. His plan to go against God is the beginning of a whole new world to the universe and a whole new significance of himself as the one known for human error and evil. Eve, the mother of human race, is Satan s target to pull her down to his world of sin because she also wishes to become independent of Adam making her susceptible to anything that can separate her from ... However, craving independence from God ferociously backfires on Satan when he finds out that even after leaving hell, he cannot escape it, which way [he] [flies] is Hell, [he] [himself] is Hell, (IV, 75). Satan finds his way to revolt against and separate from God to overrule Heaven and become king, instead however, he takes on the role of the representation of all evil which is evidently seen in his interactions with Eve. Eve s hunger to become independent from Adam and all she is commanded to do is similar to Satan s situation in that their yearn for power and singular identity lead them to revolt against their creator. Her desire to separate from Adam is first seen when she is introduced to the audience in her state of narcissism. She sees a reflection of herself in a pond and is in awe of her beauty of sympathy and love, (IV, 465) which shows the parallelism to Satan s own arrogant vanity. He catches on to this similarity they share and decides she will be an easy target of persuasion. He quickly takes charge and plans how he will lead her to eat the apple from the Tree of Knowledge, which is the only tree that God prohibited to pick fruit from. Satan first catches her attention by being a serpent who speaks; something she had never encountered before. Without a fundamentally secure infrastructure, network defense becomes more difficult. Furthermore, the Internet is an extremely dynamic environment in terms of both topology and emerging technology. [COH95] First, because of the inherent openness of the Internet and the original design of the protocols, Internet attacks in general are quick, easy, inexpensive, and may be hard to detect or trace. [KRO92] Second, many sites place unwarranted trust in the Internet. It is common for sites to be unaware of the risks or unconcerned about the amount of the trust they place in the Internet. Third, much of the traffic on the Internet is not encrypted, confidentiality and integrity are difficult to achieve. This situation undermines not only applications (such as financial applications that are network based) but also more fundamental mechanisms such as authentication and no repudiation. Although at first Arwen honours her father s wishes and embarks on the journey with the Elven people to the Havens, she returns to Rivendell after she has a vision of what she believes to be her future, and confronts her father with it. The vision was of her son and Aragorn, a vision which brings her hope and strengthens her will to remain in Middle Earth. This strength is different to what was expected of women at that time. It allows Arwen to rebel against her father s will and follow the destiny she chooses for herself. Magnetic Resonance Imaging Abstract Abstract NMR is a form of spectroscopy that utilizes external magnetic fields and signals to identify the chemical structure of organic molecules, creating a gradient image. Through applying an applied Radio Frequency, the proton is able to flip into higher energy states, and then relax. This process is recorded by a NMR Spectrometer, and the difference in energy provides it with a certain NMR Signal. The difference in the magnetic fields of the allows for a gradient image of the area. There are various types of imaging that are useful for fast imaging or 3D imaging such as Gradient Echo Imaging or Volume Imaging. Some other applications of the same principles that apply to MRIs mainly relate to the identification of organic molecules such as Protein Folding and Drug Development. The spin of a proton is expressed in ± k (1/2), where k is a coefficient. During the NMR process, an external magnetic field is applied on the protons, partially polarizing them. This will cause them to all align in the same orientation, around the magnetic field direction, as it is the easiest to maintain that position. This is called the Minimum Magnetic Potential Energy. Jambotkar ENGL 520 Short Paper 2 October 2014 The Glass as Half Full: A Reflection of the Unseen in Sappho to Philaenis Skepticism surrounding John Donne s Sappho to Philaenis relates to the fact that the societal structure at the time the poem was written was one dominated by heterosexual, misogynistic men, suggesting that Donne s treatment of female homosexuality was geared towards the satiation of these heterosexual males desires, these men being his primary audience at the time. However, the significance of Donne s poem must be explored on another level. In contrast to the view that the piece was meant to represent a male dominant society, an alternate view is that the poem originates from a place of protofeminism and a pioneering sexual outlook on Donne s part. In Sappho to Philaenis, the purity and secrecy of the two women s sexuality functions as a significant argument for the validity of same sex relationships; Donne makes the invisible the erotic, thereby defining a discourse for lesbianism. Early modern literature penned by heterosexual males and referencing lesbian relationships should not be dismissed as being inauthentic and inaccurate depictions solely based on the fact that a male perspective is given with regard to these relationships. James Holstun claims that Donne takes the concepts of sameness, oneness, and mirroring in Sappho to Philaenis and infuses a heterosexist judgment, viewing lesbianism from a sterile, impersonal ... Furthermore, I will use the finding of the paper Performance Evaluation of a Clustered Memcached to present how Memcached can improve the performance of the web applications. The paper that I did study is about a simulation project of using three different architectures of Memcached. The simulation results will monitor the CPU and RAM usability of all the nodes in these three architectures. I will explain the results and will discuss the findings of their results. The relational database technology dominated the web applications for more than 30 years. This technology is able to handle limited load to the database. However, the internet technologies and the advents of the smart phones make the web applications to be accessible by many users and from any location that is covered by the internet connectivity. In addition, currently, the web data in the internet is dominated by the social networking and social media applications which include: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and others. This kind of web applications will likely be prone to the high load of the database layer. Thinking the they were here to help, the Filipino rebels trusted the Americans, but were soon betrayed as Dewey decided to occupy the land. Although the role of women did change, it is important to understand their position before the revolutions in order to wager how their role changed and of course, to what extent. It would be unrealistic to assume that all women during this period fell into one category. There are many factors to consider and so it is vital to address how different types of women behaved in their varied working and living environments. In pre industrial Europe the life of a single woman can be regarded as extremely difficult from an economic perspective. Most single women, irrespective of age, belonged to a family, ... That is exactly how Olympe De Gouges a devoted enthusiast of the French Revolution felt. She saw that there was something more to reach for. The stirring winds of the revolution blew back the curtains and showed women that they could and should be living a life with the same opportunities and rights that men have. Olympe De Gouges wrote the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Citizens, her work was echoing the Declaration of Rights of Man and of the Citizen. She wrote this statement in order to claim equal legal rights for women and the protection of civil rights among wives and mothers. Olympe De Gouges goal was to open the eyes of women that they haven t gained any advantages in the French Revolution, that women need to summon the forces of reason against their hopeless affectation of supremacy. Many breakthroughs may they be scientific, political, or social, have come about after overcoming adversity. Fear is natural and expected when making decisions that will alter the future. But despite this fear, breakthroughs are still possible. Every day, people are pushing at the boundaries of life to expand general knowledge and to build better lives for them and their children. There are some who argue that when a woman decides to dress in a way that shows off her skin, she is asking for negative attention from men. This reason is why the locker room behavior of men is borderline accepted in primarily American culture. When women are told that the way that they dress puts themselves in danger with men, it shames females into thinking that their freedom to dress is less important because they have to worry about how they are going to be treated. Though I concede that there is no reason to show off inappropriate areas of the body publicly, I still insist that a woman should be able to choose to wear what she wants without being afraid of the consequences. After all, clothes are just clothes. My main point is that women shouldn t have to be afraid because their freedom is more valuable than any man who would take advantage of them. Being safe in this circumstance is purely outrageous when the fact that women can wear clothes however they want and choose their freedom over the safety that is ensured by covering up. Another example that goes hand in hand with freedom to wear what is chosen is the clear backpacks that students of Parkland High School in Florida are required to now use as a result of the shooting in February. Brassica Rapa Essay INVESTIGATION OF THE INHERITANCE OF THE ROSETTE GENE IN BRASSICA RAPA By: Justine Poorbaugh Foundations of Biology 2 Laboratory Thursday 2:30 PM Professor Cheek April 21, 2011 ABSTRACT The Brassica rapa is a rapid growing plant that has a standard form and a mutant rosette form. Relative to normal plants, the rosette form is shorter and takes longer to flower. The mode of inheritance of the rosette gene was tested by crossing two true breeding plants, one of each form. The F1 generation was then cross pollinated to produce an F2 generation. The phenotypes of each generation were recorded and a chi square test was performed. The F1 offspring were almost entirely standard form, and the F2 followed the Mendelian ratio of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After a week, the phenotypes of the plants were recorded in Table 2. The strongest plant in each cell was left in the quad, and the others were removed in order to thin the plants. Pollinating Flowers The plants were continually monitored and watered when needed. At approximately two weeks from the day the seeds were planted, several flowers were open on the plants. The plants were then cross pollinated using a pollinating wand. The pollen from one plant was transferred to another, using approximately eight flowers. This was done three different days with one day in between. After the third pollination, the unopened buds were removed. The plants were kept watered, and the new buds and shoots were removed for the next 14 days. Harvesting Seeds Once 14 days had passed from the day of the third pollination, the quad was removed from the watering tray and left to dry for a week. Then, the dry seed pods were removed and cracked open so that the seeds could be collected. Germinating Seeds A piece of filter paper was moistened and then placed in a petri dish, and any excess water was poured off. The harvested seeds were then placed in neat rows on the upper two thirds of the filter paper. The petri dish was then tilted on end in a water reservoir containing approximately two centimeters of water. The reservoir and dish were then placed under the fluorescent light to germinate for 48 hours. After the 48 hours, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
