Shrek, Basic Communication
This assignment is to show how an understanding of narrative structures, the ‘language of film , and
binary oppositions can contribute to a critical reading of any one film chosen from the list given. In
interpreting the purpose of this assignment, I have chosen the feature film Shrek to be analyzed. The
overall story of Shrek is simply similar to Disney s Beauty and the Beast. It is a romantic story
between an ugly beast with a beautiful Princess, which is setting up as an old kingdom movie packed
with hilarious jokes and images. The form of the movie is in 3D animation movie, which is brilliantly
created by Dreamworks. In addition, I would like to use this assignment as an opportunity to argue
that the genre of Shrek is a romantic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing Kenneth Branagh s And Gregory Doran
There have been many movie adaptations of Hamlet ever since adapting Shakespeare s plays into
movies became a profitable venture. Two of the more popular adaptations were Kenneth Branagh s in
1996 and Gregory Doran s in 2009. Even though they were both based on the same play, these two
movies differ greatly due to director s license. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s adaptation of
Hamlet differ greatly in terms of the setting and how each of the main characters are portrayed. One of
the main differences in the two films is the setting, The original play is based in 1600s Denmark,
which Branagh s movie follows for the most part. His interpretation of Elsinore Castle is posh and
colorful. There is much contrast in the colors and setting of the scenes, with some being in the bright
common room of the castle, with others being in the catacombs or in the dark woods outside of the
castle. Doran s film has a more modern setting to it. The attire worn by the characters consist mainly
of suits and modern dresses, compared to the more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The portrayal of Hamlet himself contains some of the key differences between the movies. Branagh s
portrayal shows a very violent and hostile Hamlet. His insanity is depicted through his consistent
outbursts of anger and violence. His insanity is explained through his reaction to seeing his father s
ghost, so his insane ways are in a way justified. Doran s Hamlet, portrayed by David Tennant, is more
childish and tongue in cheek than Branagh s. He does not wear shoes and has random outbursts of
insanity. His madness is not clearly explained, so the audience is confused as to why he is insane, or if
he was insane this entire time. Also, Branagh sticks to the original soliloquies, while Doran cuts a few
parts here and there. For example, the famous What is a man? soliloquy, which is in its entirety in
Branagh s film, but is severely cut down in

Essay about Different Perspectives of Cuban Revolution
Different Perspectives of Cuban Revolution
Introduction:
The measures taken by Castro and explicitly stated by him at his trial in 1954, from the very beginning
of his anti Batista movement illustrate his initial desires to reform Cuba and ultimately increase its
standard of living. Different understandings can be perceived by reading various books and documents
that focus on the political changes shaping Cuba s modern day society. Each illustrates different
aspects of the insurrection while simultaneously giving the reader an accurate depiction of the
historical occurrences. Authors Perez Stable and Patterson focus on the turbulent circumstances that
lead Cuba through the various leaders, each with his own agenda trying to ... Show more content on

Because of Cuba s reliance on the export of sugar, Cubans were severely limited in terms of
diversifying its economy and raising its standard of living. According to Perez Stable,
Without diversification, jobs would not be createdand living standards raised...Moving Cuba from
classic dependence on sugar to a new form of dependent capitalism, however, required a realignment
of domestic actors, a new role for the state, and a restructuring of Cuba U.S. relations.
These issues appear as reoccurring themes that build the platforms for many of the reforms sought by
Castro himself. This is because these issues address the focal points of concern for most Cuban
citizens.
The second chapter in Perez Stable s book deals more with the political transitions that shaped Cuba s
societal structure during the turbulent early 1900 s. Corruption and problems with the governmental
structure coincided with the economic crises. Many Cubans fostered anti American sentiments and
regarded the Platt Amendment with much contempt. These feelings arose in part because, Application
of the Platt Amendment was a blatant reminder of the limits of Cuban independence. During these
occurrences, the U.S. vacillated between mediating the Cuban crises and relinquishing ties to the
Cuban government. This stemmed in part from the avid anti American sentiments

The Issue Of Humanitarian Intervention
The current consensus in the international community understands that nations, like individuals, have
basic rights, namely, the right to territorial integrity and political sovereignty. When another nation
violates these rights, it is considered an act of aggression. However, there certainly are situations
where a violation of territorieal integrity or political sovereignty is justified, namely humanitarian
intervention, thus use of military force against another state when the chief publicly declared aim of
that military action is ending human rights violations being perpetrated by the state against which it is
directed. The issue of humanitarian intervention has been at the forefront of international relations
discourse, particularly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In On Liberty, John Stuart Mill argues that the only legitimate basis for limiting the individual s
liberty, in the liberal democratic state, is to prevent harm to others. In his words, The only purpose for
which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will,
is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant. This is
now considered the Harm Principle. The Legalist Paradigm seeks to extend this liberty to the states
themselves as well. It is a modern, secular and legalistic interpretation of Classical Just War Theory,
which reflects conventions of law and order based upon the analogy of states to individuals. It took
root in the writings of the Catholic theologian Francisco de Vitoria and the Dutch jurist, Hugo Grotius
and also from the Treaty of Westphalia at the end of the Thirty Years War in the 17th Century, which
led to the formal and legal recognition of independent, sovereign nation states and their rights to
territorial integrity and political sovereignty. The Legalist Paradigm consists of six claims. The first
two claims outline the existence of an international society of independent nation states that have
agreed upon the rights of its members to territorial integrity and political sovereignty. Thus, the third
claims defines aggression as the use of force to threaten the rights of another state.

Sacramental Marriage In The Catholic Church
The union between a baptized man and a baptized woman is known as a sacramental marriage in the
Catholic Church. The two people make a covenant of life and love to each other through the vows
given at the ceremony. Not all people receive the sacrament of marriage because they are called to
another vocation. This sacrament requires preparation and communication between the couple. They
have many decisions that have to be made, involving how their children will be raised. Both the man
and the woman must be open to having children, have free consent to get married and are to stay; with
this person for the rest of their life, unless an annulment is granted. A sacramental marriage, based on
the church s teachings, is important to me because of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe what the Catholic church teaches. God sent us here for a reason and a sacramental marriage
is what I feel I am being called to receive. I want to get married because of the idea of having children
has always interested me. A sacramental marriage to me, means that a woman and man will get
married and stay with each other until death. I think that it is very important to stay with the one you
marry because it shows that you are not breaking a covenant that you made. We are to live out the
Paschal Mystery through marriage. There are difficult times and happy times. The difficult times help
the couple grow closer together, along with the happy ones. Everyone has difficult times in their life
and when you are married you have someone with you through it all. This also means that I will be
married for life and not get a divorce, knowing that the Church does not acknowledge a divorce. I
agree with the church s teachings because a child needs both a mother and father to raise them fully.
Having children in the Catholic Church means that you will raise them in the faith. I believe that this
is very important because we were sent here to procreate. While teaching our children about the faith,
it can help the Catholic Church

Arthur Leander s Station Eleven
The nature of one s history has an inevitable effect on their future. In many cases, the forthcoming
situations that one faces are based on recollections of the past and their interpretation of it. Within the
novel, Station Eleven, author Emily St. John Mandel develops a plethora of characters whose past
actions and memories have a considerable effect on their future. This is exemplified through the
impact that Arthur s turmoil lifestyle has on him as he ages, Tyler s development of radicalistic beliefs
due to his exposure towards profound ideology from a very young age, along with Kirsten s change in
perspective and formation of interests due to prior actions and memories. Throughout his acting
career, Arthur Leander s dramatic lifestyle as well as series of tumultuous events impact him greatly.
As decades go by, Arthur s previous affairs reshape his mentality for the future. His fame results in a
substantial lack of privacy, and after years of encountering such exposure to the public, his sole desire
is to be left in peace. Despite this, during the opening years of his acting career, Arthur is desperate for
his first glimpse of fame and wants to be famous (St. John Mandel, 110). As his career progresses, this
desire begins to vanish due to his loss of personal privacy; largely due to the media. Arthur ... Show

Ethical Theories Of Ethical Theory

Ethical Theory
Throughout Christianity there have been many ethical theories that have contributed in the
development of the current ethical theories. Ethical theory is used to help us ¨do good¨ and benefit us
by creating a solution that is morally correct. Every ethical theory stresses its own distinct ideas which
are: anticipating the consequences, and following his or her specific tasks on how to benefit to one
another in spite of trying to achieve a decision that is ethically right. In such a case, for an ethical
theory to be beneficial to others, it essentially needs to be set to a group of goals. In modern day, many
laws impose that through ethical theories we should try to attain an immense amount of good, because
many people may benefit from it. Many ethical theories also offer important components to assist with
the process of making righteous decisions. There are four different ethical theories that have
contributed such relevance in today s current ethical theory. These theories are Utilitarianism, New
Testament Exegesis, Saint Thomas Aquinas´ ethical views, and Immanuel Kant s ethical philosophy.
Utilitarianism is a doctrine of utility and helps us find the good out of a situation of ethical
circumstances. Through utilitarianism, it states that we should try to produce the greatest amount of
good, as opposed to all of the evil in the world. One theological thinker who supported this theory was
John Gay. He states

Nature Vs. Nurture In Human Language And Language
I personally believe that nurture plays a bigger role in the development of human language than
nature. To establish an understanding of the roles of nature vs. nurture as it contributes to a person and
the role in the community a set of knowledge issues need to be questioned. These two issues are what
is the definition of Nature V.S. Nurture? And why are these two factors important for humans and their
ability to develop their language skill in order to communicate and express themselves? The first
knowledge issue of what is the definition of Nature vs. Nurture can be expressed in simpler terms than
that of the second knowledge issue. The issue of nature can be expressed as traits or the most
commonly used term genetics, meaning a person is born with these traits. While nurture ... Show more

Cesar Chavez Civil Rights Movement Summary
The Civil Rights Movement, led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., played a massive role in American
history and it did so not through a revolution of savagery, but one of peace. The right to peaceably
assemble for change has always been a staple in American society, defined as a right in the first
amendment to the Constitution, ensuring that everyone could protest and call for peaceful action
without being persecuted by the government. In 1978, Cesar Chavez wrote an article addressing the
usefulness of nonviolent resistance, especially referring to Dr. King s Civil Rights Movement. His
usage of juxtaposition, logical fallacies, and unifying diction assist in Chavez s attempt to drive the
point that nonviolent resistance is the greatest way to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So is the case for Cesar Chavez and the argument he develops in favor of peaceful protests. Case in
point: Chavez makes a rather blunt claim that If we resort to violence, he one of two things will
happen: either [it] will be escalated and there will be [losses] on both sides, or there will be total
demoralization of the workers (Chavez 17 21), assuming that these are the only two possible options
creates an either/or fallacy error, it is entirely possible that there are other options. Perhaps one side
will emerge entirely victorious over the other, there are an untold number of other options that could
be available. Chavez also utilizes appeals to pity to convince readers that his movement is morally
superior to that of standard groups pushing for change. This is evident when Chavez writes that he
believes that ...when poor people are faced with a direct appeal from the poor struggling nonviolently
against great odds, they will react positively (Chavez 27 30) and that [his movement] can gather the
support of millions who have a conscience... (Chavez 24 25). Chavez s usage of the phrase people
who have a conscience alone manipulates the logic of regular people by convincing them that if they
aren t a part of nonviolent resistance, then they have no conscience, which clearly is not the case as
people can choose to not involve themselves whatsoever and still have a clear moral compass in line
with that of a reasonable society. Chavez s bandwagoning claims that The American people and
people everywhere still yearn for peace (Chavez 30 31) so as to convince the audience that since so
many people already yearn for justice, that they should as well. Besides these fallacies, Chavez
utilizes one far more than any

Case Study Of Hindalco

Transfer pricing
Transfer pricing is a method of profit allocation mechanism through which firms increase their profit
after tax (PAT) metric by reducing the cumulative amount of taxes paid in different countries.
International firms have many subsidiaries located in different countries of the world. These
subsidiaries will be subject to tax levels as decided by the country in which they are located. If a
subsidiary is located in a country where the corporate tax levied is high (eg USA 35%, India 30%) it
has to pay high taxes compared to tax haven countries like Cayman island, Switzerland, UK and
Singapore which has corporate tax levels at around 17%. So, it will be profitable for a firm to pool

Regulations Legalities Switzerland doesn t have the problem of red carpeting that many countries
possess. The firms need not pass through a number of check points before getting the approval and go
ahead signal to start the business. This reduces the chances of business stalling and reduces the risk of
bribing.
6. Tax benefits The corporate taxes for different Cantons of Switzerland range between 8% and 20%.
This is very low compared to the 30% tax slab in India.
It is because of these factors that Hindalco should move its headquarters to Switzerland and
channelize all its transactions through it.
Consolidation:
Commodity industry is highly driven by the supply demand gap. While this may be true for any
industry it is more pronounced in commodities and much more in electricity. The cost of storing the
finished goods (warehousing cost), insurance cost and the cost of locked capital is generally high
compared to any other industry. This forces the mining industry to follow the chase market strategy
where firms try to match their production levels to the demand. However, once a big plant or mining
facility is set up reducing the production levels reduces the operation cost only to a marginal extent.
This motivates the firm to keep the production levels high and reduce the selling price which
ultimately reduces the industry margin. This is exactly the position that the commodity industry is
right

and later her teenage years. As a child, she remembers watching a tractor tire blow up and send Newt
Hardbine s father flying over the top of the Standard Oil sign, and has, after that, always been afraid of
tires. Taylor s original name was Marietta Greer, but at three years old she demanded to be called Miss
Marietta, and this name eventually became Missy.
By high school, Taylor is not an special or outstanding student but stays out of trouble. In her senior
year, she has the blond, northerner Hughes Walter as her science teacher, and when he ... Show more

They learn about the wisteria vines. They do not grow from barren soil; the soil beneath them is
fertilized by rhizobia, microscopic bugs with which the wisteria have a symbiotic relationship. Taylor
compares the wisteria and rhizobia to the various relationships in the novel.
Taylor calls Lou Ann, who tells her that she is now dating a man from Red Hot Mama s, Cameron
John, and she recalls how Taylor became upset when they were acting like a family. Lou Ann insists
that they are in fact a family, and Taylor agrees. Taylor and Turtle head back to Tucson as a legally
established family.
Two of the greatest influences in The Bean Trees are the Cherokee Trail of Tears, the geographical
trek that the Cherokee Nation was forced to travel when it was moved to the Oklahoma territory from
the southeastern United States, and the Sanctuary movement, designed to help Central Americans flee
oppressive governmental regimes and relocate usually secretly and illegally in the United States.
These two influences serve as the background to Kingsolver s The Bean Trees. The Cherokee Trail of
Tears informs Taylor and Turtle s journey from Oklahoma to Arizona in the novel, and many of the
novel s characters apparently are members of the Sanctuary

Analysis Of A Night To Remember By Walter Lord
Walter Lord, the narrative historian whose books most notably A Night to Remember, a riveting
account of the sinking of the Titanic were characterized by intensive research and exhaustive
interviews, died on Sunday at his Manhattan apartment. He was 84.
Mr. Lord, a onetime advertising executive, adeptly popularized the stories not only of the Titanic
disaster of 1912 but also the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the World War II evacuation of Dunkirk,
the Battle of Midway, the fall of the Alamo, the War of 1812 and the enrollment of James Meredith as
the first black student at the University of Mississippi.
His usual approach to what he called living history was to combine historical research with
journalistic methods, including you are there insights gathered in interviews with dozens of survivors
and witnesses to the events he chronicled.
Mr. Lord s writing technique, said Stanley Walker, reviewing A Night to Remember in the Book
Review of The New York Herald Tribune, was based on a kind of literary pointillism, the arrangement
of contrasting bits of fact and emotion in such a fashion that a vividly real impression of an event is
conveyed to the reader.

David McCullough credited Mr. Lord as an inspiration for his own flourishing career as a writer of
popular histories and biographies on such varied topics as the Brooklyn Bridge, the Panama Canal and
most recently John Adams.

Piaget Essay
Piaget s Theory of Cognitive Development
Jean Piaget was born on August9, 1896, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. At an early age he
developed an interest in biology, and by the time he had graduated from high school he had already
published a number of papers. After marrying in 1923, he had three children, whom he studied from
infancy. Piaget is best known for organizing cognitive development into a series of stages the levels of
development corresponding too infancy, childhood, and adolescence. These four stages are labeled the
Sensorimotor stage, which occurs from birth to age two, (children experience through their senses),
the Preoporational stage, which occurs from ages two to six, (motor ... Show more content on

I remember as a child thinking that the sun and moon followed me as I took a walk. In addition, the
child s use of language is not as sophisticated as it might seem. Children have a tendency to confuse
words with the objects they represent. If a child calls a toy block a car and I use it to make a
house , the child may become upset. To children, the name of an object is as much a part of the object
as it s size, shape, and color. To the Preoperational child, insulting words may really hurt. (Coon 107).
Consider my preschooler calling each other baby . To the adult it is an innocent word, but to the
preschooler it is the worst thing they can think of.
Piaget s description of the Preoperational stage also focused on all the other things the preschool aged
child still cannot do. According to Piaget, egocentrism is a cognitive state in which the child sees the
world only from his own perspective, without awareness that there are other perspectives. (Bee and
Boyd 155). The child is not being selfish; rather, she simply assumes that everyone sees the world as
she does. I see many examples of ego egocentrism on a daily basis in the preschool environment and
at home. For example, my daughter, Meryl, who is almost five years old, gets a phone call from her
aunt. She begins asking Meryl questions.
Instead of saying yes or no , Meryl simply nods her head.

Council Of Trent Research Paper
Rose: Hey, what council did you write as the most important to the history of the Catholic Church?
Jasmine: I wrote the Second Vatican Council.
Rose: Really? I chose Council of Trent.
Jasmine: Why?
Rose: Well, I mean typically, Councils and meetings are called by the Pope when new heretic
teachings are told, or a reform is needed, and the Catholic Church must rectify the teachings and
inform the public of the the true meanings.
And, in my opinion, the Council of Trent was obviously one of the most, if not the most important
reformation in the Church history. The Council was held during the mid 16th Century, and dealt with
the increasingly growing, new and radical Protestant Church. The response of the Catholic Church s
council, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Second Vatican Council was held during a time were the world was truly changing. Technology
was growing at an extremely fast pace and all the radical changes to social order, roles and society.
Especially since the events of World War I and II, which no longer painted war as an illustrious heroic
thing. It was to address the Churches relation to the modern world.
Originally, the Catholic Church had seen itself as an fortress against the modern world, with many
Popes refusing to leave Vatican city. They believed that religious liberty as a human right and
considered the modern world a horrible place to live. Pope John XXIII had realised that the world had
changed too much in the past century, and the Church would need to change with it. He had wanted to
change the Churches image to something that would understand and accept others.
In fact, over 2000 bishops

Pros And Disadvantages Of Walmart
As one of the biggest retailer in the United States, Walmart has many different type of products
throughout all 65 supercenters in Michigan. The retail department stores sell a variety of mostly non
grocery products, though emphasis has now shifted towards supercenters, which include more
groceries. The store is made up as general merchandise and grocery. There are many different type of
products that are sold at Walmart such as, home living, electronics, clothing, sports and outdoor, baby,
and lastly grocery. There are more sub groups in each of the following, but those are the main
departments. There are many other stores that has most to all of these departments in them such as,
Meijers, home depot, small grocery stores, and clothes places(Tj maxx, Kohls).
Substitute goods are two goods that could be used for the same purpose. If the price of one good
increases, then demand for the substitute is likely to rise. There are many substitutes in Walmart, lets
take grocery for a example, there are three to four brands to one certain product. Like whole has a
substitute to soy milk or a sweatshirt to a long sleeve shirt. Another example for substitutes in Walmart
is toothpaste, a brand name Crest or Colgate. Same use, same teeth care, but different brands. There

Atticus Personal Response
I am reading the book, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The recent chapters we have been
reading focus on how to walk in someone else s shoes. In chapter 10, 11, and 12 mostly talks about
how Aunt Alexandra comes and lives with them for a while and how Jem is maturing more. In
chapters 13, 14, and 15 shows that Atticus goes to the jail cell where Tom Robinson is and so Jem,
Dill, and Scout sneak out and go looking for him. They see that a mob of men are coming towards
Atticus and Tim, so Scout runs to him and makes an end to the situation. Who knew a young child
could protect a man from other men. Some personalities that Atticus shows is knowledgeable and
responsible.

Within this story there is plenty of evidence to support this. Atticus is does not just have multiple of
knowledge for vocabulary and reading but he also has great knowledge of kid behavior and to be in
someone else s shoes. As a father of two, he is knowledgeable in many materials. First of all, he
teaches his children how read at a young age, so his kids do not have difficulties in school. He tries to
pass on all of his knowledge to his kids. Another way he has plenty of knowledge is by reading. He is
not a normal father in Maycomb county, who drinks beer and plays football. He would much rather
read than play any active sport. One way to show this from the book is He did not do the things our
schoolmates fathers did: he never went hunting, he did not play poker or fish or drink or smoke (Lee
119). This shows that Mr. Finch prefers not to do the crazy stuff other fathers did. He prefers to relax,
read a book, and talk to his kids daily. The final way he demonstrates his knowledge is by taking the
Tom Robinson s case. He knows that he will not win but he is doing it for himself. Atticus tells, The
only thing we ve got is a black man s word against the Ewell . The evidence boils down to you did I
didn t (Lee 117). This describes that even though he know he is not going to win the case, he is going
to try his best, so that is great knowledge of dedication. Not only is Atticus knowledgeable, he is also
responsible. One way he shows responsibility is by teaching his kids to show manner to
people...especially old ones. When Jem got furious at Ms. Dubose and cut her camellia bushes, Atticus
took it into his own hands and made Jem apologize to her. A way he punished Jem is by reading to her
for an hour everyday for a month. Another way he shows responsibility is by asking his sister to come
and take help him take care of Jem and Scout. In the book it shows that, We decided that

Sigmund Freud And Erikson s Theory Of Human Development
Introduction
The issue of human development has been a related one within the human society. In this respect,
there are several developmental theories that have been forwarded by some of the world s most well
known psychologists. The two main psychoanalytic theories are Sigmund Freud s psychosexual theory
and Erik Erikson s psychosocial theory. They are the two names that one cannot miss while talking
about psychology. Sigmund Freud is called the father of psychology while Erik Erikson s ideas have
become the best known.

Their theories were unique in their own way. Freud s psychosexual theory was focused almost entirely
on male development with little mention of female psychosexual development. When Fisher
Greenberg (1996) evaluated psychosexual hypotheses specifically on female they found nothing.
According to McLeod, S. (2013) Freud based his theory on the recollections of his childhood and his
adult patients, not on actual observation and study of children. On the other hand Erikson s studies
were based on children, college students and most importantly he observed his own children

The Interaction Of Cognitive Therapy
The Interaction to Cognitive Therapy (ICS) Study An accruing relapse of depression is hard to
overcome nevertheless; preventing these relapses is the key. The length of depression constitutes a
major problem in the treatment of depression. However, many evidences suggest that psychological
treatments have been withdrawn to the many treatment trials that have been found in cognitive therapy
such as drugs or different types of therapy that defends against depression. The preventive
interventions such as the drugs operate through effects in changing the patterns of the cognitive
processing that becomes active in mild negative side effects (Teasdale, Segal, Williams, 1995, p.25).
The goal of any treatment is to reduce relapses and the recurrence in patients who have recovered
from depression. Therefore, the interaction to cognitive subsystems (ICS), that frame works all aspects
of information that may be developed. The understanding of depression and its treatment is by
cognitive therapy. The different aspects and experiences are represented in patterns that are
qualitatively different to ICS. Different inflections and patterns seem different, but are the inflections

common to visual inputs from similar objects and what objects are different. All patterns are different

The Rights Opportunity Commission Has Filed Suits Against...
Living in the 21t century, diversity is seen all aspects of life, majorly in the workplace. A rising issue
in America has been making headlines; discrimination in the workplace due to sexual orientation.
Sexual orientation refers to a person s sexual identity in relation to the gender to which they are
attracted (Google). There has been a disturbing and substantial growing rate in the discrimination and
harassment of gay and transgender individuals in the workplace as well as throughout the hiring
process with limited attention being brought upon the issue. Individuals are being denied the same
benefits, opportunities, and job titles due to their sexual orientation. Although there are state and
federal laws that protect against employee discrimination based on sexual orientation, cases are still
being taken due to controversy over state and federal laws in private and public practices. The U.S
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed suits against privately owned companies
including, Scott Medical Center and IFCO system of the Pallet Company, in an attempt to pose an end
to these discriminatory practice. There are controversial cases that take the contrary of anti gay
actions, which involve pro gay discrimination. LGBT employees are one of the largest groups of
minorities in the workplace who face the largest amount of discrimination.

This memo addresses my worries about the high cost of pharmaceuticals in The United States of
America than some other high wage created nation. As indicated by the International Federation of
Health Plans, Americans pay anywhere in the range of two to six times more than whatever is left of
the world for brand name doctor prescribed medications. Specialty and cancer disease drugs have a
tendency to be the most costly, however the high costs can be found in regularly used prescriptions
too. As indicated by Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), the

The United Kingdom s National Health Service, for instance, buys drugs for the nation s supply,
known as a formulary. However, in the United States, we have individual insurance groups, hospitals
and arrangements that purchase for their individual buyers. Plans and gatherings arrange their own
costs with the pharmaceuticals, bringing about an unregulated assortment of valuing. One of America
s biggest supplier of meds, the national government run Medicare can t, by law, arrange with
pharmaceuticals. It s a feature of the law that both Democratic presidential competitors Hilary Clinton
and Bernie Sanders contend to be changed. They say that Medicare s purchasing force ought to be

  • 4. Comparing Kenneth Branagh s And Gregory Doran There have been many movie adaptations of Hamlet ever since adapting Shakespeare s plays into movies became a profitable venture. Two of the more popular adaptations were Kenneth Branagh s in 1996 and Gregory Doran s in 2009. Even though they were both based on the same play, these two movies differ greatly due to director s license. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s adaptation of Hamlet differ greatly in terms of the setting and how each of the main characters are portrayed. One of the main differences in the two films is the setting, The original play is based in 1600s Denmark, which Branagh s movie follows for the most part. His interpretation of Elsinore Castle is posh and colorful. There is much contrast in the colors and setting of the scenes, with some being in the bright common room of the castle, with others being in the catacombs or in the dark woods outside of the castle. Doran s film has a more modern setting to it. The attire worn by the characters consist mainly of suits and modern dresses, compared to the more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The portrayal of Hamlet himself contains some of the key differences between the movies. Branagh s portrayal shows a very violent and hostile Hamlet. His insanity is depicted through his consistent outbursts of anger and violence. His insanity is explained through his reaction to seeing his father s ghost, so his insane ways are in a way justified. Doran s Hamlet, portrayed by David Tennant, is more childish and tongue in cheek than Branagh s. He does not wear shoes and has random outbursts of insanity. His madness is not clearly explained, so the audience is confused as to why he is insane, or if he was insane this entire time. Also, Branagh sticks to the original soliloquies, while Doran cuts a few parts here and there. For example, the famous What is a man? soliloquy, which is in its entirety in Branagh s film, but is severely cut down in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay about Different Perspectives of Cuban Revolution Different Perspectives of Cuban Revolution Introduction: The measures taken by Castro and explicitly stated by him at his trial in 1954, from the very beginning of his anti Batista movement illustrate his initial desires to reform Cuba and ultimately increase its standard of living. Different understandings can be perceived by reading various books and documents that focus on the political changes shaping Cuba s modern day society. Each illustrates different aspects of the insurrection while simultaneously giving the reader an accurate depiction of the historical occurrences. Authors Perez Stable and Patterson focus on the turbulent circumstances that lead Cuba through the various leaders, each with his own agenda trying to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of Cuba s reliance on the export of sugar, Cubans were severely limited in terms of diversifying its economy and raising its standard of living. According to Perez Stable, Without diversification, jobs would not be createdand living standards raised...Moving Cuba from classic dependence on sugar to a new form of dependent capitalism, however, required a realignment of domestic actors, a new role for the state, and a restructuring of Cuba U.S. relations. These issues appear as reoccurring themes that build the platforms for many of the reforms sought by Castro himself. This is because these issues address the focal points of concern for most Cuban citizens. The second chapter in Perez Stable s book deals more with the political transitions that shaped Cuba s societal structure during the turbulent early 1900 s. Corruption and problems with the governmental structure coincided with the economic crises. Many Cubans fostered anti American sentiments and regarded the Platt Amendment with much contempt. These feelings arose in part because, Application of the Platt Amendment was a blatant reminder of the limits of Cuban independence. During these occurrences, the U.S. vacillated between mediating the Cuban crises and relinquishing ties to the Cuban government. This stemmed in part from the avid anti American sentiments ... The Issue Of Humanitarian Intervention The current consensus in the international community understands that nations, like individuals, have basic rights, namely, the right to territorial integrity and political sovereignty. When another nation violates these rights, it is considered an act of aggression. However, there certainly are situations where a violation of territorieal integrity or political sovereignty is justified, namely humanitarian intervention, thus use of military force against another state when the chief publicly declared aim of that military action is ending human rights violations being perpetrated by the state against which it is directed. In On Liberty, John Stuart Mill argues that the only legitimate basis for limiting the individual s liberty, in the liberal democratic state, is to prevent harm to others. In his words, The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant. This is now considered the Harm Principle. The Legalist Paradigm seeks to extend this liberty to the states themselves as well. It is a modern, secular and legalistic interpretation of Classical Just War Theory, which reflects conventions of law and order based upon the analogy of states to individuals. It took root in the writings of the Catholic theologian Francisco de Vitoria and the Dutch jurist, Hugo Grotius and also from the Treaty of Westphalia at the end of the Thirty Years War in the 17th Century, which led to the formal and legal recognition of independent, sovereign nation states and their rights to territorial integrity and political sovereignty. The Legalist Paradigm consists of six claims. The first two claims outline the existence of an international society of independent nation states that have agreed upon the rights of its members to territorial integrity and political sovereignty. Thus, the third claims defines aggression as the use of force to threaten the rights of another state. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two people make a covenant of life and love to each other through the vows given at the ceremony. Not all people receive the sacrament of marriage because they are called to another vocation. This sacrament requires preparation and communication between the couple. They have many decisions that have to be made, involving how their children will be raised. There are difficult times and happy times. The difficult times help the couple grow closer together, along with the happy ones. Everyone has difficult times in their life and when you are married you have someone with you through it all. This also means that I will be married for life and not get a divorce, knowing that the Church does not acknowledge a divorce. I agree with the church s teachings because a child needs both a mother and father to raise them fully. Having children in the Catholic Church means that you will raise them in the faith. In many cases, the forthcoming situations that one faces are based on recollections of the past and their interpretation of it. Within the novel, Station Eleven, author Emily St. John Mandel develops a plethora of characters whose past actions and memories have a considerable effect on their future. This is exemplified through the impact that Arthur s turmoil lifestyle has on him as he ages, Tyler s development of radicalistic beliefs due to his exposure towards profound ideology from a very young age, along with Kirsten s change in perspective and formation of interests due to prior actions and memories. Throughout his acting career, Arthur Leander s dramatic lifestyle as well as series of tumultuous events impact him greatly. As decades go by, Arthur s previous affairs reshape his mentality for the future. His fame results in a substantial lack of privacy, and after years of encountering such exposure to the public, his sole desire is to be left in peace. • 11. Ethical Theories Of Ethical Theory Alyssa Arias Period 4 Dr. Robertson May 10, 2016 Ethical Theory Throughout Christianity there have been many ethical theories that have contributed in the development of the current ethical theories. Ethical theory is used to help us ¨do good¨ and benefit us by creating a solution that is morally correct. Every ethical theory stresses its own distinct ideas which are: anticipating the consequences, and following his or her specific tasks on how to benefit to one another in spite of trying to achieve a decision that is ethically right. In such a case, for an ethical theory to be beneficial to others, it essentially needs to be set to a group of goals. In modern day, many laws impose that through ethical theories we should try to attain an immense amount of good, because many people may benefit from it. Many ethical theories also offer important components to assist with the process of making righteous decisions. There are four different ethical theories that have contributed such relevance in today s current ethical theory. These theories are Utilitarianism, New Testament Exegesis, Saint Thomas Aquinas´ ethical views, and Immanuel Kant s ethical philosophy. Utilitarianism is a doctrine of utility and helps us find the good out of a situation of ethical circumstances. Through utilitarianism, it states that we should try to produce the greatest amount of good, as opposed to all of the evil in the world. One theological thinker who supported this theory was John Gay. He states ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To establish an understanding of the roles of nature vs. nurture as it contributes to a person and the role in the community a set of knowledge issues need to be questioned. These two issues are what is the definition of Nature V.S. Nurture? And why are these two factors important for humans and their ability to develop their language skill in order to communicate and express themselves? Cesar Chavez Civil Rights Movement Summary The Civil Rights Movement, led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., played a massive role in American history and it did so not through a revolution of savagery, but one of peace. The right to peaceably assemble for change has always been a staple in American society, defined as a right in the first amendment to the Constitution, ensuring that everyone could protest and call for peaceful action without being persecuted by the government. In 1978, Cesar Chavez wrote an article addressing the usefulness of nonviolent resistance, especially referring to Dr. King s Civil Rights Movement. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So is the case for Cesar Chavez and the argument he develops in favor of peaceful protests. Case in point: Chavez makes a rather blunt claim that If we resort to violence, he one of two things will happen: either [it] will be escalated and there will be [losses] on both sides, or there will be total demoralization of the workers (Chavez 17 21), assuming that these are the only two possible options creates an either/or fallacy error, it is entirely possible that there are other options. Perhaps one side will emerge entirely victorious over the other, there are an untold number of other options that could be available. Chavez also utilizes appeals to pity to convince readers that his movement is morally superior to that of standard groups pushing for change. This is evident when Chavez writes that he believes that ...when poor people are faced with a direct appeal from the poor struggling nonviolently against great odds, they will react positively (Chavez 27 30) and that [his movement] can gather the support of millions who have a conscience... (Chavez 24 25). Chavez s usage of the phrase people who have a conscience alone manipulates the logic of regular people by convincing them that if they aren t a part of nonviolent resistance, then they have no conscience, which clearly is not the case as people can choose to not involve themselves whatsoever and still have a clear moral compass in line with that of a reasonable society. International firms have many subsidiaries located in different countries of the world. These subsidiaries will be subject to tax levels as decided by the country in which they are located. If a subsidiary is located in a country where the corporate tax levied is high (eg USA 35%, India 30%) it has to pay high taxes compared to tax haven countries like Cayman island, Switzerland, UK and Singapore which has corporate tax levels at around 17%. This is very low compared to the 30% tax slab in India. It is because of these factors that Hindalco should move its headquarters to Switzerland and channelize all its transactions through it. Consolidation: Commodity industry is highly driven by the supply demand gap. While this may be true for any industry it is more pronounced in commodities and much more in electricity. The cost of storing the finished goods (warehousing cost), insurance cost and the cost of locked capital is generally high compared to any other industry. This forces the mining industry to follow the chase market strategy where firms try to match their production levels to the demand. However, once a big plant or mining facility is set up reducing the production levels reduces the operation cost only to a marginal extent. This motivates the firm to keep the production levels high and reduce the selling price which ultimately reduces the industry margin. Piaget is best known for organizing cognitive development into a series of stages the levels of development corresponding too infancy, childhood, and adolescence. In addition, the child s use of language is not as sophisticated as it might seem. Children have a tendency to confuse words with the objects they represent. If a child calls a toy block a car and I use it to make a house , the child may become upset. To children, the name of an object is as much a part of the object as it s size, shape, and color. To the Preoperational child, insulting words may really hurt. (Coon 107). Consider my preschooler calling each other baby . To the adult it is an innocent word, but to the preschooler it is the worst thing they can think of. Piaget s description of the Preoperational stage also focused on all the other things the preschool aged child still cannot do. According to Piaget, egocentrism is a cognitive state in which the child sees the world only from his own perspective, without awareness that there are other perspectives. (Bee and Boyd 155). The child is not being selfish; rather, she simply assumes that everyone sees the world as she does. I see many examples of ego egocentrism on a daily basis in the preschool environment and at home. This shows that Mr. Finch prefers not to do the crazy stuff other fathers did. He prefers to relax, read a book, and talk to his kids daily.
